# Smashing Dope Ring

Heard 1938. 1 episodes.

"Episodes 1 and 2. While trying to arrest a dope peddler selling medical marihuana cigarettes, Police Officer Dan Garrett \[who is secretly the Blue Beetle\] is machine gunned down etc. . . . The plot line pretty much follows the comic book story. I don’t know if we can recommend this program for listening. It only mentions Marihuana ONCE, and after the first few minutes drifts away from the subject. However, by date and situation, it must be considered (at least by this museum) a Reefer Madness Program." http://www.reefermadnessmuseum.org/otr/AudioLog.htm

Nothing here is called public domain on this site's say-so. In the United States, sound recordings first fixed before 15 February 1972 have federal protection under the Music Modernization Act of 2018, for most until 2067 at the latest, so most American radio of the 1930s to the 1950s is not in the public domain there. Each set shows the licence, mark or statement its archive gives, and says whose it is.
