# Idiot's Delight

Heard 2010. 4 episodes.

"Rich Conaty is on the wrong side of 40", is really a recently rediscovered episode of Vin Scelsa's long-running radio show,"Idiot's Delight". Listeners to "The Big Broadcast" will be familiar with Rich Conaty's mix of vintage pop & jazz music of the 1920's & 30's that he played Sunday nights over Fordham University's FM radio station WFUV in New York for 43 years. With very few exceptions,"The Big Broadcast" had a "cut-off "date as far this vintage musical material went....nothing would be played after the year 1940. Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight" was also on radio in the New York area for over 40 years. That show's final 15 years were also heard over WFUV-FM on Saturday nights, from 2001-2015. Rich Conaty was asked to fill-in for "Idiot's Delight" over the July fourth weekend of 2010. (Saturday

From the Old Time Radio collection at the Internet Archive, uploaded by the collector named.

Nothing here is called public domain on this site's say-so. In the United States, sound recordings first fixed before 15 February 1972 have federal protection under the Music Modernization Act of 2018, for most until 2067 at the latest, so most American radio of the 1930s to the 1950s is not in the public domain there. Each set shows the licence, mark or statement its archive gives, and says whose it is. An episode whose only basis is its uploader's public-domain mark is not played, as that law protects it; one under its rights holder's licence plays everywhere.
