# Educating Archie

Heard 1950–1959. 11 episodes.

Educating Archie was a BBC Light Program comedy show broadcast in the early 1950s on Sunday lunchtimes featuring ventriloquist Peter Brough and his dummy Archie Andrews. The program was very successful even though the idea of a ventriloquist and his dummy being on radio seems quite illogical. The show often averaged 15 million listeners, and a fan club boasted 250,000 members. In 1956 the program was transferred to television. Audio Files Sourced: Educating Archie - Free OTR Shows

From the Old Time Radio collection at the Internet Archive, uploaded by the collector named.

Nothing here is called public domain on this site's say-so. In the United States, sound recordings first fixed before 15 February 1972 have federal protection under the Music Modernization Act of 2018, for most until 2067 at the latest, so most American radio of the 1930s to the 1950s is not in the public domain there. Each set shows the licence, mark or statement its archive gives, and says whose it is.
