# Bill Stern Show

Heard 1947–1950. 10 episodes.

Bill Stern was a sportscaster who when not in the broadcast booth, had a 15 minute program where he relayed exciting stories about his guests. The stories were similar to the kind Paul Harvey would tell years later in his "The Rest of the Story" program. Stern would add drama and excitement to the stories, well beyond what they deserved, and focused on irony or coincidence. They are entertaining. For some sports figures, the Stern shows are the only recordings that exist of their voices. These recordings are from the transcriptions, and have been recently put into digital formats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Stern

Nothing here is called public domain on this site's say-so. In the United States, sound recordings first fixed before 15 February 1972 have federal protection under the Music Modernization Act of 2018, for most until 2067 at the latest, so most American radio of the 1930s to the 1950s is not in the public domain there. Each set shows the licence, mark or statement its archive gives, and says whose it is.
