[0:05] Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A wave original.
[0:09] Speaker 1: My name is Beaumont Jones. Thanks for listening wherever you
[0:12] Speaker 1: get your podcast. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
[0:16] Speaker 1: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
[0:19] Speaker 1: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
[0:22] Speaker 1: a hater. All right.
[0:25] Speaker 2: NFL playoffs are too big.
[0:27] Speaker 1: We have had these wildcard weekends with some blowouts in them,
[0:30] Speaker 1: just absolute terrible action. And gotta say, They gave us
[0:35] Speaker 1: bangers this weekend, right? They gave us no fewer than
[0:39] Speaker 1: four absolute bangers, cliffhangers, nail biters, however you want to
[0:45] Speaker 1: put it. I got to say to you, NFL, well played, baby.
[0:49] Speaker 1: You gave us what we came here for. But as
[0:53] Speaker 1: much as I want to give it up overall to
[0:55] Speaker 1: the NFL, and that's cool. We got to look specifically
[0:59] Speaker 1: at you guys. Nobody better for business than you guys.
[1:02] Speaker 1: And you know who those guys are. Those guys are
[1:05] Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles. They, this, this, Ryan, we've been doing
[1:09] Speaker 1: this all year long where I had to tell myself
[1:11] Speaker 1: we're not going to talk about the Eagles every week, right?
[1:14] Speaker 2: Had long stretches where we didn't.
[1:15] Speaker 1: And it was honestly, because I could talk about the
[1:17] Speaker 1: Eagles every day.
[1:20] Speaker 3: Correct.
[1:20] Speaker 2: Never get tired of it.
[1:21] Speaker 1: Correct.
[1:21] Speaker 4: I can talk. We can talk. Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni,
[1:25] Speaker 4: AJ Brown every day. Every Monday. And they gave us
[1:29] Speaker 4: every reason why we want to talk about them every
[1:32] Speaker 4: Monday over the course of the last three hours.
[1:34] Speaker 2: Think about this, man. They got two white dudes out
[1:36] Speaker 2: here covering people.
[1:37] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:37] Speaker 2: And that's never the issue.
[1:40] Speaker 4: It didn't come up.
[1:42] Speaker 1: That's one of the bright spots of their whole situation. Like, look, man,
[1:46] Speaker 1: when the white boys play a defensive back and carry
[1:48] Speaker 1: it alone for your team, baby, you guys got to,
[1:50] Speaker 1: you know, got to wonder exactly what's going on here. Look.
[1:54] Speaker 1: They lost this game to the 49ers, and it is
[1:57] Speaker 1: the rare flat-out indefensible loss, right? Like, normally, if teams
[2:01] Speaker 1: are playing at any point in the playoffs with the
[2:03] Speaker 1: exception of that 2-7 game, by and large, it's like, okay,
[2:06] Speaker 1: this could probably go either way. We talked about this
[2:09] Speaker 1: with the 49ers last week. I don't know anybody that
[2:13] Speaker 1: plays defense for them, right? And then on offense, and
[2:17] Speaker 1: you pointed this out, who the hell are those guys
[2:19] Speaker 1: that Purdy's out here throwing the ball to?
[2:22] Speaker 4: Right, and Kittle goes down with the Achilles. It's a
[2:25] Speaker 4: lot of Christian McCaffrey, and then it's Jawan Jennings.
[2:28] Speaker 1: Yes.
[2:29] Speaker 4: You know, it is, again, it's a motley crew of
[2:32] Speaker 4: dudes at Shanahan scheming up out there.
[2:34] Speaker 1: That used check guy's still in the league.
[2:36] Speaker 5: Right.
[2:37] Speaker 1: Right, and so this was the thing about it for
[2:40] Speaker 1: the Eagles. The 49ers, as presently constructed, should need to
[2:49] Speaker 1: make no mistakes in order to win against a team.
[2:53] Speaker 2: With the hosses that the Eagles have, okay?
[2:58] Speaker 1: Brock Purdy threw two interceptions, and they were bad interceptions, right?
[3:02] Speaker 2: Like, we're not just turning them around.
[3:04] Speaker 1: Those were bad interceptions that he threw. They still beat
[3:11] Speaker 1: the Eagles. Still beat them.
[3:15] Speaker 6: Like....
[3:17] Speaker 1: I have been a Brock Purdy skeptic for a very
[3:19] Speaker 1: long time, okay? He is clearly a starting NFL quarterback.
[3:24] Speaker 1: And what has to really stink for the Eagles is
[3:27] Speaker 1: he was clearly the better quarterback in the game. And
[3:30] Speaker 1: I don't mean simply that he played better than Jalen
[3:32] Speaker 1: Hurts did. You're asking me, which one of them am
[3:35] Speaker 1: I going to take?
[3:36] Speaker 2: At this point, I'm taking Purdy.
[3:38] Speaker 1: And look, man, that imaginary cookout invitation is in peril
[3:44] Speaker 1: for me saying that.
[3:45] Speaker 2: But I ain't already. You know what I'm saying?
[3:47] Speaker 1: Like like that's this is this is how it looked.
[3:50] Speaker 2: This is how it appeared to be.
[3:52] Speaker 1: You've got what's his name?
[3:54] Speaker 2: Sirianni after A.J.
[3:56] Speaker 1: Brown drops a pass running at him right to go
[3:59] Speaker 1: scream at him and Brown screaming right back. And they
[4:02] Speaker 1: can talk all that. Yeah, well, we still love each other. Hey,
[4:05] Speaker 1: I tell you what my therapist would say about that
[4:07] Speaker 1: kind of love. You did. It's not really what it is.
[4:10] Speaker 1: It was a collective failure, right? Is it the quarterback's fault?
[4:15] Speaker 4: Yes.
[4:16] Speaker 1: Did A.J. Brown drop some passes right there? Yes, and
[4:20] Speaker 1: that's got to be the worst for him because he
[4:22] Speaker 1: out there mad as hell because Jalen Hurts is not
[4:25] Speaker 1: playing well, and then finally he dials it up right
[4:28] Speaker 1: on your hands on the third down, and the game matters,
[4:31] Speaker 1: and you don't bring it in, right? You had that
[4:34] Speaker 1: one in the first half that you did not bring in.
[4:37] Speaker 1: It was awful. It's everybody's fault in this game that
[4:43] Speaker 1: the Eagles lost it. This is why I say indefensible.
[4:47] Speaker 1: Even without laying Johnson to a couple guys, you down, man.
[4:51] Speaker 1: Y'all had the players. Y'all had it at the crib.
[4:54] Speaker 1: The only way for you to truly lose this game
[4:58] Speaker 1: is by being outcoached.
[5:00] Speaker 4: All right, and let's just go through the second half drives. Punt, punt,
[5:05] Speaker 4: 10 plays, 23 yards, field goal. Punt, field goal. Downs
[5:10] Speaker 4: to end the game.
[5:10] Speaker 2: Okay, and what's Sirianni supposed to be good at? What's
[5:13] Speaker 2: his thing? He's the offense guy.
[5:16] Speaker 4: Right.
[5:17] Speaker 1: This is your offense. And look, if your quarterback isn't
[5:20] Speaker 1: that guy, I'm sorry, but the other team has Brock Purdy.
[5:24] Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying?
[5:25] Speaker 2: Like, Kyle, by the way, I don't think we've talked
[5:28] Speaker 2: about this nearly enough.
[5:30] Speaker 1: They lost that game in the NFC Championship where Brock
[5:33] Speaker 1: Purdy got hurt, right?
[5:35] Speaker 3: Right.
[5:37] Speaker 1: I know the way that we talk about Kyle Shanahan
[5:42] Speaker 1: as a coach. I know the way that we talk
[5:45] Speaker 1: about Nick Sirianni as a coach.
[5:48] Speaker 2: If that's the way.
[5:49] Speaker 1: That we talk about Kyle Shanahan and we talk about
[5:52] Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni, how do you think Kyle Shanahan talks about
[5:56] Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni? Do you know how furious he was when
[5:59] Speaker 1: Purdy went down? Like, do you realize if we think
[6:03] Speaker 1: these things about Kyle, Kyle really thinks these things about Kyle.
[6:06] Speaker 4: And if we think these things about Sirianni, Kyle thinks
[6:09] Speaker 4: these things about Sirianni.
[6:10] Speaker 2: Oh, my God. So you think Kyle's out here trying
[6:12] Speaker 2: to get cooked by Sirianni? Like, there's a, you know,
[6:15] Speaker 2: the old story.
[6:16] Speaker 1: I think we've talked about this on the show, but
[6:17] Speaker 1: if you hadn't heard it, what Bobby Knight talks about, man,
[6:19] Speaker 1: I wasn't sure how that game was going to go
[6:21] Speaker 1: that I look over and saw Dale Brown and.
[6:23] Speaker 2: I knew everything was going to be okay.
[6:26] Speaker 1: That's got to be Kyle Shanahan at the prospect of
[6:30] Speaker 1: coaching a game against Nick Sirianni. And that's more or
[6:33] Speaker 1: less what happened here. His team was the better coach team, period.
[6:37] Speaker 1: I would not blame them if they fired Seriotti at
[6:40] Speaker 1: midfield for this.
[6:42] Speaker 2: Game, right? They're not going to. But what will it take?
[6:48] Speaker 1: Right? Because they're going to be so, at least they
[6:50] Speaker 1: are so talented. And it feels like they'll be this
[6:52] Speaker 1: talented for a while that they'll be able to win 10, 11,
[6:56] Speaker 1: 12 games. But something's not right. Right.
[7:00] Speaker 4: I mean, and if something was not right all year,
[7:02] Speaker 4: the vibes were Not great all year.
[7:05] Speaker 2: They weren't great last year. They just won the Super Bowl.
[7:08] Speaker 4: We're now two of the last three years where the
[7:10] Speaker 4: vibes are terrible. You have a stunning collapse to end
[7:14] Speaker 4: your season. I mean, it wasn't as bad as the
[7:16] Speaker 4: Bucs loss where they quit out there. But this was
[7:18] Speaker 4: the offense was as inept as it's been all year long. Yes.
[7:22] Speaker 4: This is more than likely A.J. Brown's last game with
[7:25] Speaker 4: the team.
[7:25] Speaker 1: You got to be.
[7:27] Speaker 4: So, like, I mean, as Deontay always says, what exactly
[7:30] Speaker 4: do you do here?
[7:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, so when you are getting booed in a close
[7:35] Speaker 1: playoff game, because here we go with that shit again.
[7:39] Speaker 2: That's a, you know, like people couldn't even, people couldn't even.
[7:42] Speaker 1: Focus to keep the main thing the main thing.
[7:44] Speaker 2: So, like, whoo.
[7:46] Speaker 1: And again, though, credit to Shanahan and really credit to
[7:48] Speaker 1: Solomon because them dudes is out there bringing the hammer with,
[7:52] Speaker 1: I'm telling you again, I don't know who these people
[7:55] Speaker 1: are and I don't know who these people are because
[7:56] Speaker 1: they had people who I did know. Guys like Fred
[7:59] Speaker 1: Warner who might go to the Hall of Fame.
[8:00] Speaker 2: They're hurt. They were beat down.
[8:02] Speaker 1: They're, for my money, Hall of Fame tight end, probably
[8:06] Speaker 1: post like non-Gronk, best tight end of his era in Kittle.
[8:11] Speaker 1: It may be over for him. He just had the
[8:13] Speaker 1: Achilles tear. Um, McCaffrey's still getting it done. I did
[8:17] Speaker 1: not realize he had 400-something touches this year. Like, this
[8:21] Speaker 1: is a tricky one for Kyle because they're down so
[8:23] Speaker 1: many guys. And I don't think– I don't know what
[8:26] Speaker 1: this is going to be next year for them just
[8:28] Speaker 1: because of what the physical total is going to be
[8:30] Speaker 1: for all of this.
[8:31] Speaker 2: But what it wasn't going to be was him losing
[8:32] Speaker 2: no game to no Nick Sirianni.
[8:34] Speaker 4: Yeah, and after this, they have to go up and
[8:36] Speaker 4: they got to go play Sam Darnold. And they got
[8:39] Speaker 4: to go play that Mike McDonald defense.
[8:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, this is where this gets fun, man, because–
[8:44] Speaker 1: Sam Darnold is Sam Darnold. We'll have plenty of time
[8:46] Speaker 1: to talk about this, but he is same Darnold. Okay.
[8:49] Speaker 1: Like we have seen enough to know that he didn't
[8:51] Speaker 1: turn into an entirely different person, but this is teams
[8:56] Speaker 1: that have played each other twice.
[8:57] Speaker 2: They're going to be, that's going to be a very
[8:59] Speaker 2: good game, I think.
[9:00] Speaker 1: But again, for the Seahawks to be nice to rest
[9:03] Speaker 1: is 49 is beat up.
[9:05] Speaker 2: I want to also say this right here.
[9:06] Speaker 1: Shout out to you, Josh Allen, because a lonely nation
[9:10] Speaker 1: turns his eyes to you.
[9:11] Speaker 3: Apparently.
[9:12] Speaker 1: Ryan, I only got no idea what these broadcasters are
[9:14] Speaker 1: going to do if they had no Josh Allen for
[9:16] Speaker 1: the rest of these playoffs. I had a buddy hit
[9:18] Speaker 1: me up and was like, hey, man, I'll be watching
[9:19] Speaker 1: the red zone for the majority of the year so
[9:21] Speaker 1: I don't hear the announcers. And I've been hearing people
[9:25] Speaker 1: talk about how they be glazing Josh Allen, but he
[9:28] Speaker 1: just figured that it's black people being a little hypersensitive
[9:31] Speaker 1: about the situation. And then he watched the game and
[9:34] Speaker 1: he was like, no, no, no. That's not what happened here.
[9:39] Speaker 4: I know. I don't, you know, I think that... Insult
[9:42] Speaker 4: applies with Romo and Josh Allen in particular. I think
[9:47] Speaker 4: he's going to push him, Jim. You know, like it's
[9:49] Speaker 4: just all that the whole game.
[9:50] Speaker 2: By the way, hate the tush push so much.
[9:52] Speaker 1: Oh my God. Like that play where they basically walked
[9:55] Speaker 1: into the end zone and his alignment basically carried him.
[9:58] Speaker 1: That's not what we're... that's not what this is supposed
[10:01] Speaker 1: to be.
[10:01] Speaker 6: Right.
[10:01] Speaker 2: This has got to be the last year of it.
[10:03] Speaker 4: Right.
[10:03] Speaker 1: And I'm not taking no credit away from Alec because
[10:05] Speaker 1: the big loot was the looting dog. He was getting
[10:08] Speaker 1: it done. I mean, he, he ain't throwing to nobody either.
[10:11] Speaker 4: Right.
[10:12] Speaker 2: You know, like just to be clear, that was an
[10:14] Speaker 2: amazing game.
[10:15] Speaker 1: I thought, I mean, I didn't feel like that's a
[10:17] Speaker 1: game where I come out of it really blaming people,
[10:19] Speaker 1: although I guess you and I didn't think the Jaguars
[10:22] Speaker 1: had any need to throw the ball at all in
[10:25] Speaker 1: that game.
[10:26] Speaker 4: They were averaging at one point like eight yards a
[10:28] Speaker 4: run in the first half, and Liam Cohen, these offensive
[10:31] Speaker 4: coaches sometimes just can't help themselves.
[10:32] Speaker 1: Just can't do it, right? If there's a blame, it's that,
[10:37] Speaker 1: but I still... That was a game I came away
[10:39] Speaker 1: from it just being like, hey, hats off to all
[10:42] Speaker 1: parties involved in the course of it, but... I mean,
[10:46] Speaker 1: it's just Josh Allen thing is interesting in that we
[10:49] Speaker 1: have extended him a measure of patience for being in
[10:52] Speaker 1: year eight, right? Maybe this is because we do treat
[10:55] Speaker 1: my homes like Jordan. And so like we not Charles
[10:58] Speaker 1: Barkley for not winning a championship. We not Patrick Ewan
[11:01] Speaker 1: for not winning a championship, but we don't really look
[11:03] Speaker 1: at them like they were deficient because of the recognition
[11:06] Speaker 1: of the time and era in which they play. Maybe
[11:08] Speaker 1: that is the benefit of the doubt that we are
[11:11] Speaker 1: affording Josh Allen. Cause to be fair, we don't really
[11:14] Speaker 1: knock Lamar Jackson for having not won a Superbowl, right?
[11:17] Speaker 4: We've knocked him for bad playoff performance.
[11:21] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[11:21] Speaker 6: Right.
[11:21] Speaker 2: So some total of it.
[11:23] Speaker 1: Right. So to be fair to Josh Allen, all of this, however,
[11:27] Speaker 1: if the quarterback means what we say that the quarterback means,
[11:30] Speaker 1: then this is the time for him to go ahead
[11:32] Speaker 1: and do it. Cause look, let me make sure like
[11:34] Speaker 1: you go back through and you look at what the
[11:36] Speaker 1: rest of this conference is going to be. Um, It
[11:40] Speaker 1: feels kind of like we're in an era in the
[11:43] Speaker 1: NFL where....
[11:46] Speaker 2: And I guess maybe it's.
[11:47] Speaker 1: Been longer than this, and we just haven't given enough credit.
[11:49] Speaker 1: I know I've talked about this in the past. You
[11:52] Speaker 1: can win with a starting quarterback, not necessarily a franchise quarterback.
[11:57] Speaker 2: I mean, Jalen Hurts just won a Super Bowl.
[12:00] Speaker 1: I think that's the definition of the starting quarterback, but
[12:02] Speaker 1: not the franchise quarterback.
[12:05] Speaker 2: But truthfully, before him.
[12:08] Speaker 1: The last quarterback that we had win a Super Bowl
[12:11] Speaker 1: that truly fit that definition, I guess, is Nick Foles.
[12:15] Speaker 4: I mean, we'll never say this, but the last.
[12:17] Speaker 2: Maybe the old versions of Tom Brady.
[12:19] Speaker 4: No, I was going to say specifically the last Patriots
[12:21] Speaker 4: version of Tom Brady. Because the Bucs, he was playing
[12:24] Speaker 4: a little... He got a little bit going towards the
[12:26] Speaker 4: end of that season.
[12:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was bad in the playoffs.
[12:29] Speaker 4: Yeah, and got really good the last two years, so
[12:31] Speaker 4: that season's weird. But, I mean, the Patriots' Brady, where
[12:34] Speaker 4: they won against the Rams 13-3, was kind of just
[12:39] Speaker 4: a guy. But I think Foles is a good answer.
[12:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, but in that, though, but he's still Tom Brady, right?
[12:44] Speaker 3: Correct.
[12:44] Speaker 4: He's still got this, yeah.
[12:45] Speaker 1: Right, I mean, that year that Peyton Manning was so
[12:48] Speaker 1: awful in 2015, where they had to park him to
[12:51] Speaker 1: just hope he could come back in the playoffs and
[12:52] Speaker 1: give them something. Even with him being bad and he
[12:55] Speaker 1: was throwing them Frisbees, right?
[12:57] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[12:58] Speaker 1: They were still some comeback wins early in that season
[13:01] Speaker 1: on the strength of he's still Peyton Manning, right? Like
[13:04] Speaker 1: there was still a magic that he could dial up.
[13:07] Speaker 1: But the AFC, there's a high probability of a dude
[13:11] Speaker 1: or a younger or a young guy like pulling this
[13:15] Speaker 1: off in this. Josh Allen to be who is, you
[13:19] Speaker 1: know what? I was going to say it feels unfair
[13:21] Speaker 1: to be like to be what we say Josh Allen is.
[13:25] Speaker 1: What we're asking Josh Allen to do is things that
[13:27] Speaker 1: we've seen Josh Allen do before, but are unfair to
[13:30] Speaker 1: perhaps ask somebody to do all the time. Right.
[13:33] Speaker 4: I mean, this is kind, but this is like, to
[13:35] Speaker 4: your point, this is kind of might be 94, 95.
[13:37] Speaker 4: It could be. This might be the gap without Mahomes to,
[13:41] Speaker 4: you got to get your title now or who, you know.
[13:44] Speaker 4: Who knows of the way these teams are constructed.
[13:46] Speaker 1: Right.
[13:46] Speaker 2: So how about this?
[13:47] Speaker 1: And I think this is the best way to think
[13:48] Speaker 1: about it in that context. Forget about blame. Forget about fault.
[13:51] Speaker 1: Forget about culpability. Forget about where you're supposed to be
[13:53] Speaker 1: in a given point in time. Just straight ahead. If
[13:56] Speaker 1: you're going to do it, I would recommend you do
[13:59] Speaker 1: it when the number one seed in your conference is
[14:02] Speaker 1: quarterbacked by Bo Nix. I would recommend that now be
[14:08] Speaker 1: the time that you go ahead and do it. Because
[14:10] Speaker 1: the one thing that Josh Allen does have in common
[14:13] Speaker 1: with Lamar Jackson is in the end, you can make
[14:16] Speaker 1: a lot of arguments about Lamar in some of these
[14:18] Speaker 1: games and you can say that he was not the
[14:20] Speaker 1: reason that Baltimore lost. But the indisputable fact was that
[14:25] Speaker 1: he was not the reason why they won. And as
[14:30] Speaker 1: of now, Josh Allen has not been the reason that
[14:33] Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills have won the AFC. He is certainly
[14:36] Speaker 1: not the reason they lost the 13 second game. I
[14:39] Speaker 1: have a law and it was, but he was not
[14:41] Speaker 1: the reason that they won that game either. Right? Now's
[14:46] Speaker 1: the time. Can you get this done? Can you make
[14:51] Speaker 1: this happen? Um, I don't think that there is truly
[14:54] Speaker 1: any more compelling storyline left in this.
[14:58] Speaker 2: Um, this is it.
[15:01] Speaker 1: Can the big glue glued it all the way and
[15:03] Speaker 1: get them to the Superbowl. if he looks like he
[15:07] Speaker 1: did at those points in Jacksonville, right. He's, he's so
[15:11] Speaker 1: much fun.
[15:12] Speaker 4: Right. I mean, whether or not it's the best, you know,
[15:16] Speaker 4: but when he is running around, you know, putting the
[15:19] Speaker 4: cape on it, it's about as fun as it gets.
[15:21] Speaker 1: So here's the thing to me. I test number one,
[15:24] Speaker 1: I test quarterback of all time is John Elway. And
[15:26] Speaker 1: I've had people try to make the point to me.
[15:28] Speaker 1: They come back around on it. They're like, well, Aaron Rodgers.
[15:30] Speaker 1: I'm like, no, but everybody's ain't look like that. They're like, well,
[15:32] Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers, he's only one inch shorter in the same weight.
[15:36] Speaker 1: I hear what you're saying.
[15:37] Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers didn't get drafted by the Yankees.
[15:40] Speaker 1: And how about this? Aaron Rodgers didn't get drafted number 25.
[15:42] Speaker 1: If Aaron Rodgers looked like John Elway.
[15:44] Speaker 4: 1-1.
[15:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It doesn't matter what, right?
[15:49] Speaker 1: But Josh Allen really got drafted on looks the part.
[15:53] Speaker 1: It was in spite of his actual performance where he
[15:56] Speaker 1: wasn't even all conference in the Mountain West. It was
[15:58] Speaker 1: in spite of it. Josh Allen looks so much bigger
[16:02] Speaker 1: than John Elway did while doing reasonably similar things. Yeah,
[16:08] Speaker 1: there's a big.
[16:08] Speaker 4: Difference between 6'3 and 6'5, nearly 6'6.
[16:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, he doesn't, he's not as fluid an athlete as
[16:15] Speaker 1: Elway was, right? And it doesn't look as easy or
[16:18] Speaker 1: the ball doesn't quite explode out of his hand in
[16:21] Speaker 1: the way that it did out of Elway. But when
[16:24] Speaker 1: this dude is rolling, man, it's just like, What do
[16:28] Speaker 1: you do?
[16:28] Speaker 2: What, what, what, what in the world?
[16:30] Speaker 4: And again, he's not doing a QB sneak for 10 yards.
[16:33] Speaker 1: I still get that. Ban it, ban it. It was,
[16:36] Speaker 1: it was, it was absurd, but this is if Josh
[16:40] Speaker 1: Allen wins this, it'll be great for all parties involved.
[16:42] Speaker 1: Cause there's really the only true reason to root against
[16:45] Speaker 1: him is some measure of.
[16:47] Speaker 2: Hating, right?
[16:48] Speaker 1: Like, like that's, that's all we've got in this, but
[16:52] Speaker 1: I tell you, they almost lost it.
[16:54] Speaker 2: And in that loss, The coach almost lost his job.
[16:59] Speaker 2: Speaking of coaches and jobs that can be lost.
[17:09] Speaker 2: It's hard for me to call this shocking.
[17:10] Speaker 1: News because it is not really news. It's a bit
[17:14] Speaker 1: of milk toast as far as news goes, but still
[17:18] Speaker 1: is a bit shocking. Adam Schefter is reporting, and again...
[17:25] Speaker 1: This is no knock on him, right? This is just
[17:27] Speaker 1: where the game goes. But Ryan, he is reporting that
[17:31] Speaker 1: the Packers and Matt LaFleur are expected to work on
[17:37] Speaker 1: a contract extension. And that's news about something that hasn't happened. Right.
[17:44] Speaker 4: Yes, that's news about the reporting of a potential transaction
[17:47] Speaker 4: that is not transacted.
[17:48] Speaker 1: Right. It's not even just news about something that hasn't happened.
[17:52] Speaker 1: It's news that something might happen, but we're not 100% sure.
[17:59] Speaker 3: Right.
[18:00] Speaker 2: Which is not exactly news.
[18:02] Speaker 4: Correct. But it is interesting.
[18:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, not a knock on Schefter, right? But it's interesting because... It.
[18:09] Speaker 1: Raises some interesting questions about like, what in the world
[18:12] Speaker 1: are the Packers doing? Okay, so this is where I'm standing, right?
[18:15] Speaker 1: We are now a good, almost 48 hours removed from
[18:21] Speaker 1: that game on Saturday night where the Packers fell apart
[18:23] Speaker 1: in the second half against the Bears and Caleb Williams.
[18:27] Speaker 1: Hey man, do you notice this by the way about
[18:29] Speaker 1: Caleb Williams? Well, I guess, okay, let me get to
[18:31] Speaker 1: that later. Let me get to that later. I'm gonna
[18:33] Speaker 1: hold that. We're gonna talk about some playoff stuff in
[18:34] Speaker 1: a little bit. I'm gonna hold that. Boom, we get there, okay?
[18:37] Speaker 3: I'm excited.
[18:37] Speaker 4: I don't even know where we're going with this.
[18:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But this is
[18:41] Speaker 1: what I'm saying. We went into this game with LeFleur's
[18:45] Speaker 1: job being a little shaky. Ryan, we mentioned this last show,
[18:48] Speaker 1: and I noticed that apparently we got some pushback on
[18:50] Speaker 1: the internet about the fact that LeFleur's job might be
[18:53] Speaker 1: in danger, even though people have been talking about this.
[18:56] Speaker 4: Yes, we don't make up these rumors.
[18:58] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[18:58] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[18:59] Speaker 1: Yeah, like the reason I said that, I thought that
[19:02] Speaker 1: we were operating with a common understanding of things, right?
[19:06] Speaker 2: But apparently we were not. Okay, then it went the
[19:09] Speaker 2: way it went.
[19:10] Speaker 1: And now everybody's talking about, hey, you got to fire
[19:12] Speaker 1: this guy for this one, right? Or that's the internet
[19:14] Speaker 1: chatter that goes. And I see this among reporters, not
[19:16] Speaker 1: just among people I know actually exist, not just stuff
[19:19] Speaker 1: on the internet, right? And so then it goes, and
[19:23] Speaker 1: my question is, if you were the Packers and there
[19:26] Speaker 1: was any doubt about whether or not you were going
[19:29] Speaker 1: to keep LeFleur going into Saturday, after.
[19:31] Speaker 2: Saturday, you fire him.
[19:34] Speaker 1: Like, that loss was a, that loss was a fireable offense.
[19:38] Speaker 4: They were up 13 points with less than seven minutes
[19:40] Speaker 4: to go in the fourth quarter.
[19:41] Speaker 5: Right, right.
[19:43] Speaker 1: Like, you don't get fired for every fireable offense. But
[19:49] Speaker 1: if you were trying to, decide if you were going
[19:50] Speaker 1: to fire him, there's nothing else for us to do here.
[19:55] Speaker 1: You don't even have to let him go talk to
[19:57] Speaker 1: the team. Yeah.
[19:58] Speaker 6: Right?
[19:59] Speaker 1: Or like, when he goes in and talks to the team,
[20:01] Speaker 1: you know, he gets in there and is.
[20:02] Speaker 2: Like, and I will take.
[20:09] Speaker 1: With me, the memories.
[20:11] Speaker 2: Because it's over, dog. It's over. This is it. Now
[20:17] Speaker 2: we come back Monday.
[20:17] Speaker 1: Morning and they're saying, oh, well, you know, they, you know,
[20:20] Speaker 1: we expect that they'll work out, work on it.
[20:23] Speaker 2: Oh, no, not even work out. Work on. How hard
[20:25] Speaker 2: is this? I got none of this. What have you been?
[20:30] Speaker 4: He has one year left on his contract. What have
[20:32] Speaker 4: you been doing all year?
[20:34] Speaker 1: You and his agent ain't never thrown no numbers out there.
[20:37] Speaker 1: Nobody's had any conversation about this. This is what you
[20:40] Speaker 1: expect me to believe. No. The only thing that I
[20:43] Speaker 1: could glean from this is that the Packers are in
[20:45] Speaker 1: a situation where they know they probably want to move
[20:51] Speaker 1: on to another coach. Now, I tend to think he's
[20:53] Speaker 1: a better coach than they do. But I see what
[20:56] Speaker 1: the problem is.
[20:57] Speaker 5: Right.
[20:57] Speaker 1: You know, like, I see what the issue is if
[20:59] Speaker 1: you decide to go ahead and make that move.
[21:01] Speaker 4: There are obvious glaring issues, but this is also the
[21:04] Speaker 4: same person who made Malik Willis look like a real
[21:06] Speaker 4: NFL quarterback.
[21:07] Speaker 2: This is what I'm saying.
[21:07] Speaker 1: This is kind of like what happened with James Franklin
[21:09] Speaker 1: at Penn State. Like, I don't think you're going to
[21:11] Speaker 1: get a better coach, but I see why you did it.
[21:13] Speaker 3: Right.
[21:13] Speaker 1: Right? You know, now maybe they did in Penn State,
[21:15] Speaker 1: but you get my point, right? I get why you
[21:18] Speaker 1: might have made this move. I can only assume that
[21:21] Speaker 1: what the Packers are doing is recognizing that LeFleur, if
[21:24] Speaker 1: they fire him, will work somewhere next year.
[21:27] Speaker 2: This isn't some dude where it's like.
[21:28] Speaker 1: You know, maybe I'll take a year off and go
[21:30] Speaker 1: do some television.
[21:31] Speaker 2: How old is he?
[21:31] Speaker 5: 38?
[21:32] Speaker 1: I'm actually not sure. Like, it's just hard for me
[21:34] Speaker 1: to tell. Once a white boy get a fade, you
[21:37] Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? And got like a trying to
[21:38] Speaker 1: be cool dude mustache, he could be anywhere in the
[21:42] Speaker 1: age continuum.
[21:43] Speaker 4: 46.
[21:44] Speaker 2: He's 46?
[21:45] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[21:46] Speaker 2: He's older than me?
[21:47] Speaker 1: Hold on.
[21:47] Speaker 2: Here's what makes that crazy.
[21:49] Speaker 1: You know what?
[21:50] Speaker 4: I remember he's older. Do you remember the stories about
[21:52] Speaker 4: how he was Brian Kelly's graduate assistant?
[21:55] Speaker 2: Oh, that's right.
[21:56] Speaker 1: That's right.
[21:56] Speaker 4: For Central Michigan, he got.
[21:57] Speaker 1: Invited to the party.
[21:58] Speaker 2: He and Sala, were they both, were they the ones
[22:00] Speaker 2: where they were valet in cars?
[22:01] Speaker 4: Yeah, they got invited to the party. They thought they
[22:03] Speaker 4: were invited to the party, but they were told to
[22:07] Speaker 4: valet cars.
[22:07] Speaker 2: They were Prince Akeem and Simi.
[22:10] Speaker 1: But just for some context, you know Sean McVay still
[22:13] Speaker 1: isn't 40?
[22:14] Speaker 4: Yeah, he turns 40 in two weeks.
[22:16] Speaker 2: Yeah, he turns 40 in two weeks.
[22:17] Speaker 1: He's seven years older or younger than Matt LeFleur. But anyway,
[22:23] Speaker 1: they must be planning to trade him.
[22:25] Speaker 4: Or are we opening the market to trade him?
[22:28] Speaker 1: Yeah. Put themselves into a position where if somebody wants
[22:31] Speaker 1: the floor, then they can get some picks out of
[22:34] Speaker 1: the situation.
[22:35] Speaker 7: Right.
[22:36] Speaker 2: Baltimore is a team that we look at.
[22:39] Speaker 1: The Falcons got to be like, damn, because if you
[22:41] Speaker 1: want to pick, you probably want a first round pick.
[22:43] Speaker 1: And we ain't got one of those right now. Otherwise,
[22:47] Speaker 1: this doesn't add up. Right. Now, the biggest loser in
[22:52] Speaker 1: this scenario that the Packers have pointed out, or maybe
[22:54] Speaker 1: the Just a winner, and it goes a little farther
[22:57] Speaker 1: down the line, is John Harbaugh.
[23:00] Speaker 2: When John Harbaugh got fired, Adam Schefter told.
[23:03] Speaker 1: The world that nine teams had reached out to Team Harbaugh.
[23:09] Speaker 1: At the time, there were only six job openings.
[23:14] Speaker 4: I think it's a pretty easy math on who those
[23:16] Speaker 4: three teams are.
[23:17] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[23:18] Speaker 2: Who you got? The Giants?
[23:20] Speaker 4: No, teams without openings.
[23:21] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Okay, so the Packers at the time.
[23:24] Speaker 4: The Packers?
[23:25] Speaker 2: The Dolphins at the time.
[23:27] Speaker 4: See, I was going Packers, Eagles, Bills.
[23:30] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, but remember the Dolphins had a coach.
[23:32] Speaker 1: At the time.
[23:32] Speaker 3: That's true.
[23:33] Speaker 4: The Dolphins did have a coach at the time.
[23:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But all of these are on the board.
[23:37] Speaker 7: The Eagles.
[23:39] Speaker 1: That's the tricky one, right?
[23:41] Speaker 4: Yeah, we talked about that earlier.
[23:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, we already got into that. Don't need to do
[23:45] Speaker 2: that again. But Harbaugh has all this leverage.
[23:48] Speaker 1: Like apparently he's got a list of demands that is
[23:51] Speaker 1: starting to float around. And who has any idea if
[23:54] Speaker 1: those demands are true? That could be just as easily
[23:56] Speaker 1: leaked out by a team that is trying to poison
[23:59] Speaker 1: the well and make people not want him. But in
[24:02] Speaker 1: the end, he is accomplished. His teams have been consistently good.
[24:09] Speaker 1: He is basically thought of as a guy that people
[24:13] Speaker 1: can get along with and an ego that would allow
[24:15] Speaker 1: him to put people in places and let them.
[24:18] Speaker 2: Do their jobs.
[24:19] Speaker 1: Like, I see all the reasons why people would be
[24:23] Speaker 1: interested in hiring him. But did you see what just
[24:28] Speaker 1: happened with the last team that he coached with one
[24:31] Speaker 1: of the three best quarterbacks in the NFL? And no
[24:34] Speaker 1: matter what you might say about Lamar Jackson and what
[24:37] Speaker 1: the word on the street might be and so forth
[24:39] Speaker 1: and so on, he's Lamar Jackson. And he's the guy
[24:43] Speaker 1: that saved Harbaugh's job in the first place. However many
[24:46] Speaker 1: years ago it's been now, right? Seven going on eight, okay?
[24:50] Speaker 1: He's the guy who did that. Harbaugh's also 64 years old.
[24:56] Speaker 1: Are you guys sure about this? Like, Is this terribly
[25:01] Speaker 1: different than hiring Pete Carroll? If you had done that
[25:06] Speaker 1: a couple of years ago. And I want to be
[25:08] Speaker 1: clear about something. Pete Carroll is a lot older than
[25:13] Speaker 1: John Harbaugh, right? But at this point, right? This is
[25:19] Speaker 1: my 10 year age gap between them.
[25:20] Speaker 4: Won a Super Bowl about a decade ago.
[25:22] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[25:24] Speaker 4: Feuded with his, at the time, star quarterback.
[25:27] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[25:27] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[25:30] Speaker 4: Struggled to hire and promote coordinators. Yep.
[25:34] Speaker 1: Kind of gradual decline.
[25:35] Speaker 4: Kind of gradual decline. And yeah. And then had, you know,
[25:42] Speaker 4: epic playoff failures and high leverage moments.
[25:44] Speaker 1: Yep. And by the way, when I mean gradual decline,
[25:46] Speaker 1: is that even in the record, right? but it's in
[25:49] Speaker 1: things around the edges.
[25:51] Speaker 2: Of the program, right?
[25:52] Speaker 1: That's what all the reports that you get now about
[25:54] Speaker 1: Harbaugh in Baltimore is it just kind of frayed around
[25:57] Speaker 1: the edges. He didn't lose the team, right? Like it
[26:00] Speaker 1: wasn't all over. Now it is possible that, and I've
[26:03] Speaker 1: seen this example be made about Harbaugh that maybe it's
[26:05] Speaker 1: like Andy Reid and you just need to leave this
[26:09] Speaker 1: one place and then go somewhere else and restart.
[26:12] Speaker 2: Couple of things.
[26:12] Speaker 1: One, I have a much clearer idea of what the
[26:14] Speaker 1: Andy Reid football philosophy is. and what he's bringing. I'm
[26:18] Speaker 1: not saying Harbaugh doesn't have these things. I'm saying I
[26:20] Speaker 1: don't have as clear an idea about it. Number two,
[26:23] Speaker 1: John Harbaugh is 64 today. Andy Reid is 67 today.
[26:31] Speaker 1: Andy Reid made that job change 13 years ago. He
[26:36] Speaker 1: was 54.
[26:37] Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying?
[26:40] Speaker 1: We're not talking about the same thing under those circumstances,
[26:44] Speaker 1: but He's such a great fit for the Giants. You
[26:47] Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like, he's exactly the kind of
[26:49] Speaker 1: guy the Giants want.
[26:50] Speaker 4: I understand if you are an organizational dumpster fire and
[26:54] Speaker 4: you're like, we have to get an adult in here.
[26:56] Speaker 3: Yes.
[26:56] Speaker 4: I understand the logic behind it. But, like, if you
[27:00] Speaker 4: have a three... Let's say you need a two-year rebuild
[27:03] Speaker 4: to find your quarterback and turn over your roster.
[27:05] Speaker 2: Not the guy.
[27:06] Speaker 1: Yeah. And.
[27:07] Speaker 4: Even if he was, he'd be 66.
[27:09] Speaker 3: Right.
[27:09] Speaker 2: But hold on.
[27:10] Speaker 1: Let's think about this. Because what John Harbaugh never had
[27:13] Speaker 1: to do was rebuild. Right. Right? He has never had
[27:18] Speaker 1: to start it from the bottom. When they fired Brian Billick,
[27:21] Speaker 1: that team wasn't great, but it still had, I want
[27:23] Speaker 1: to say, four Hall of Famers, right?
[27:26] Speaker 4: And a top three GM in Ozzie Newsom.
[27:28] Speaker 3: Right.
[27:29] Speaker 1: You got Ozzie Newsom, you had Ray Lewis, you had
[27:32] Speaker 1: Ed Reed, you had Terrell Suggs.
[27:35] Speaker 2: Was Ogden on the team?
[27:36] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[27:38] Speaker 2: Ogden retired at the end of 07.
[27:40] Speaker 4: Gotcha.
[27:41] Speaker 2: But point has been made, right?
[27:43] Speaker 4: Yeah, correct.
[27:45] Speaker 1: Everybody sees what we're talking about. Now, if we look
[27:47] Speaker 1: at the job openings that are there, oh, the Jets,
[27:50] Speaker 1: not an opening.
[27:51] Speaker 4: That's wild. Yes.
[27:53] Speaker 1: The Giants, kind of, sort of a rebuild, but I
[27:55] Speaker 1: guess it depends on how far along you feel like
[27:58] Speaker 1: their quarterback is and how long he's got to go
[28:00] Speaker 1: before he gets his egg cracked.
[28:02] Speaker 2: The Browns, oh, no, no, no, no, no.
[28:05] Speaker 1: I don't think that's a win for either side of this,
[28:08] Speaker 1: if it comes to it.
[28:10] Speaker 2: Well, the Packers, maybe.
[28:12] Speaker 1: The Packers are the team where Harbaugh would have had
[28:14] Speaker 1: all the leverage, right? Weren't on the street with something
[28:16] Speaker 1: he won like $ 20 million a year. This is not
[28:18] Speaker 1: Sean Payton, right? This is not a guy that I
[28:22] Speaker 1: look at like, yeah, that's the one that we.
[28:24] Speaker 4: And be clear, Sean Payton, clear foibles. But someone with
[28:30] Speaker 4: a clear football philosophy.
[28:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like when you bring him in,
[28:34] Speaker 1: everything is different in a way that is not quite
[28:36] Speaker 1: the same.
[28:37] Speaker 2: Like Harbaugh's not that kind of personality.
[28:40] Speaker 4: And he still has Bill Parcells putting him over. Yes.
[28:43] Speaker 2: By the way, John is not his brother.
[28:46] Speaker 6: Right.
[28:47] Speaker 1: Now, you tell me that we're coming in with his
[28:49] Speaker 1: brother and we're going to turn this thing over. And
[28:50] Speaker 1: by the way, he never really had to. He didn't
[28:52] Speaker 1: have to rebuild with the 49ers. No. He didn't have
[28:54] Speaker 1: to rebuild with the Chargers. He went places with at
[28:57] Speaker 1: least a quarterback. All right, I can do something with this.
[29:00] Speaker 1: You know, if you take John Harbaugh to Atlanta, that
[29:03] Speaker 1: becomes interesting because they don't need a rebuild, but they
[29:07] Speaker 1: also don't really have a quarterback.
[29:09] Speaker 4: Right.
[29:10] Speaker 1: And the one that they might got got one leg.
[29:14] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[29:14] Speaker 1: You know, he's not going to Tennessee.
[29:17] Speaker 6: Right.
[29:17] Speaker 8: Right.
[29:17] Speaker 1: Like that's that's that's not going to be a place
[29:21] Speaker 1: that he wants.
[29:22] Speaker 4: Of Clint Kubiak. You know, just like the next person
[29:26] Speaker 4: in the McVeigh Shanahan trade is getting another job.
[29:28] Speaker 1: Now, I bet you could get Mark Davis to give
[29:30] Speaker 1: you a gazillion dollars. But who all money and good money, baby.
[29:34] Speaker 1: You know what I mean? The Cardinals, the Cardinals are
[29:37] Speaker 1: very confusing because I don't know. They have a quarterback,
[29:42] Speaker 1: but they don't want him.
[29:45] Speaker 4: Right, and also sneaky dysfunctional franchise.
[29:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, and I don't know where they're supposed to get
[29:49] Speaker 1: this other quarterback. They're doing a lot of things that
[29:52] Speaker 1: your boy don't understand is all I'm saying. I don't
[29:56] Speaker 1: know where this place is that's a John Harbaugh awake.
[29:59] Speaker 2: From making this go? And how many.
[30:02] Speaker 1: Double-digit losses, I mean, leads have they blown? Like, what
[30:06] Speaker 1: have these playoff scenarios been under Lamar Jackson? He's been
[30:08] Speaker 1: right there with them.
[30:09] Speaker 4: You know where the best scenario for a hypothetical John
[30:12] Speaker 4: Harbaugh is?
[30:13] Speaker 3: Hmm. The Ravens.
[30:16] Speaker 2: Or, or, or the Steelers.
[30:19] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[30:20] Speaker 1: Like.
[30:21] Speaker 4: I do like the idea of them just trading coaches.
[30:23] Speaker 1: You know, there's so many interesting ideas there, right? Because...
[30:28] Speaker 1: Each is the kind of coach that the other franchise
[30:31] Speaker 1: is into.
[30:32] Speaker 6: Right.
[30:33] Speaker 1: Right. Right.
[30:34] Speaker 2: They fit each other's stability.
[30:36] Speaker 1: Right. You know, they're going to be some looks perhaps,
[30:39] Speaker 1: but it's going to be a pretty steady ship as
[30:42] Speaker 1: it goes across the board. And by the way, all
[30:44] Speaker 1: of this is why the Steelers are not moving off
[30:46] Speaker 1: or no Mike Tomlin. Right.
[30:49] Speaker 2: Like that's unless they go higher shot Harbaugh.
[30:50] Speaker 1: I don't know. But hey, we're saying this before the
[30:53] Speaker 1: Steelers play this game against the Houston Texans. So we
[30:56] Speaker 1: don't know exactly what any of this could be.
[30:58] Speaker 2: But Harbaugh has all the leverage.
[31:00] Speaker 1: And I just want to know, who are the people
[31:02] Speaker 1: that are sitting in there and being like, wait a
[31:05] Speaker 1: minute now, wait a minute. Because look, the whole league
[31:07] Speaker 1: did that with Bill Belichick. And I think as of now,
[31:11] Speaker 1: those decisions have been vindicated. Now, the difference is Belichick
[31:16] Speaker 1: has a clear football philosophy, and that may have been
[31:19] Speaker 1: the problem.
[31:20] Speaker 3: Right.
[31:21] Speaker 1: Particularly a philosophy on talent evaluation.
[31:23] Speaker 4: His philosophy is, I know what I'm doing.
[31:26] Speaker 2: Yep. Trust me.
[31:28] Speaker 4: Which works really well for, you know, about 18 years.
[31:31] Speaker 3: Yes.
[31:31] Speaker 4: Until it didn't.
[31:32] Speaker 2: Okay, so let's think about this with Philadelphia.
[31:34] Speaker 1: Former Eagles assistant John Harbaugh. OK, let's just say the
[31:38] Speaker 1: Eagles look, man, they got to fire. The day is
[31:41] Speaker 1: going to come where they got to fire Sirianni after
[31:43] Speaker 1: going like 12 and 5, 11 and 6. Right. I
[31:45] Speaker 1: think we talked about that before. Like that's that's going
[31:47] Speaker 1: to happen at some point. Harbaugh would not be a
[31:51] Speaker 1: terrible fit there. But is Harbaugh trying to work in
[31:55] Speaker 1: a situation where Howie got all the power and is
[31:57] Speaker 1: running the roster? Because it sounds like Harbaugh wants to
[31:59] Speaker 1: go somewhere where he's got all that power.
[32:01] Speaker 4: Which is also another interesting, you know, decision to give
[32:05] Speaker 4: to a 64-year-old.
[32:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, man. Like, this is.
[32:08] Speaker 1: It's an awkward time. It's the greatest time in the
[32:12] Speaker 1: world for him to get fired. But it's not a
[32:16] Speaker 1: great time for him to get hired. Like, I don't...
[32:20] Speaker 1: We're going to learn a lot about what all these
[32:22] Speaker 1: front offices truly prioritize in this moment. And I would say,
[32:26] Speaker 1: for example, if you're John Harbaugh and the Giants want
[32:28] Speaker 1: to hire you, that is an indictment of you. Like
[32:31] Speaker 1: nothing about the Giants hiring of late says, oh boy,
[32:34] Speaker 1: they know what they're doing. You know what I mean?
[32:36] Speaker 1: Like Al Davis used to mess up a lot in hiring,
[32:39] Speaker 1: but he used to try to hire a lot of
[32:41] Speaker 1: guys that turned out to be good.
[32:43] Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
[32:44] Speaker 1: Like if Al Davis wanted to hire you, you were 32,
[32:46] Speaker 1: it might've meant something.
[32:47] Speaker 2: People just didn't want to go work for him. The
[32:50] Speaker 2: ones who could.
[32:51] Speaker 1: But if the people who brought you Ben McAdoo, Pat Shermer,
[32:57] Speaker 1: Brian Daybold, Judge Joe Brown, Joe Judge, that was his name.
[33:04] Speaker 1: If they're like, yo, we see something in you. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[33:08] Speaker 1: What's that supposed to mean, partner? You know, what you
[33:11] Speaker 1: think about me right now?
[33:15] Speaker 4: I'm just going to point out for the record that
[33:16] Speaker 4: you insulted John Harbaugh in the same way you backhanded
[33:19] Speaker 4: compliment Lane Kiffin.
[33:23] Speaker 2: I did.
[33:28] Speaker 1: It's actually the shining thing on the Lane Kiffin resume
[33:34] Speaker 1: is that Al Davis thought he might got something.
[33:38] Speaker 2: Like that really is the thing, right?
[33:40] Speaker 1: And then by the way, one year later, Get this
[33:44] Speaker 1: man out of my sight.
[33:46] Speaker 2: I never... Oh, I hate Lane Kiffin so much.

[36:23] Speaker 4: All right, Bo, three games we haven't really hit. Rams,
[36:32] Speaker 4: Big Wiggins went over the Panthers. The Bears' comeback went
[36:37] Speaker 4: over the Packers, and then the Patriots beating down the
[36:40] Speaker 4: Chargers last night. Who is the biggest winner and loser
[36:42] Speaker 4: from these three games?
[36:44] Speaker 1: Okay, now, out of these three games, I think Well,
[36:49] Speaker 1: the biggest loser, I think, again, is Matt LaFleur, who
[36:51] Speaker 1: we just got to be talking about.
[36:53] Speaker 4: Justin Herbert's close.
[36:54] Speaker 1: Yeah, if I say the runner-up, I think it's Justin Herbert.
[36:57] Speaker 2: I want to be fair to him, though, right?
[36:59] Speaker 1: Their tackles have been out all a year he's got
[37:03] Speaker 1: a hand so busted up can't take snaps from under center.
[37:08] Speaker 4: Um i like that that that's gonna be the take
[37:11] Speaker 4: or uh yes yes.
[37:13] Speaker 1: It is oh but first things first is this is
[37:16] Speaker 1: the already made topic for first things first this justin
[37:19] Speaker 1: herbert situation um I think Herbert again wound up in
[37:23] Speaker 1: a situation where we said with Josh Allen before, I
[37:25] Speaker 1: do not think he is the reason that they lost
[37:27] Speaker 1: that game, but it is very clear that he is
[37:29] Speaker 1: not the reason why they won that game. Right. So
[37:33] Speaker 1: like he is a runner up there in the loser category.
[37:38] Speaker 2: Honestly, the winner.
[37:44] Speaker 1: It's like it's either Caleb Williams or it's Drake May.
[37:49] Speaker 1: And I mean that in the sense that obviously a
[37:51] Speaker 1: win legitimizes both of them. And for May, even though
[37:59] Speaker 1: May has been better this year, Caleb Williams felt like
[38:02] Speaker 1: he was on the clock this year.
[38:04] Speaker 3: Right.
[38:05] Speaker 4: Do you remember that article that came out at the
[38:08] Speaker 4: beginning of the year?
[38:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, the Tyler Dunn piece. And by the way, It
[38:12] Speaker 1: looks to me, and I could be wrong. I don't
[38:13] Speaker 1: know these people, okay? I don't think those people like him.
[38:17] Speaker 1: But it is reaching the point where it doesn't really matter.
[38:20] Speaker 3: Right.
[38:20] Speaker 7: Right?
[38:21] Speaker 1: Like, he is... He had a jump-on-my-back performance in that game.
[38:27] Speaker 1: And he is so good when it gets to jump-on-my-back point. Right? Like,
[38:31] Speaker 1: what Johnson has gotten out of him is we're not
[38:33] Speaker 1: taking the sacks. That, by itself, is a giant improvement
[38:38] Speaker 1: for him. Where he took something like 40 fewer sacks.
[38:41] Speaker 1: this season than he did last season.
[38:43] Speaker 2: And, man, he's got an arm.
[38:45] Speaker 6: Right?
[38:46] Speaker 1: When this is just get back there, move around a
[38:48] Speaker 1: little bit, see what might happen, he was making throws
[38:51] Speaker 1: that I could not believe.
[38:55] Speaker 2: My goodness, I couldn't believe the stuff that he was doing.
[38:58] Speaker 1: And so now he's skipped over the question, well, when
[39:01] Speaker 1: will he win a playoff game question. That one is
[39:05] Speaker 1: already answered. You know what I mean?
[39:07] Speaker 2: They get a home playoff game.
[39:09] Speaker 1: Again, right? Right.
[39:09] Speaker 4: They play the Rams.
[39:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, like, you know, in that one.
[39:12] Speaker 1: Hey, the Rams just struggled against an 8-9 team.
[39:18] Speaker 2: By the way, shout out to the little homie.
[39:20] Speaker 1: He did the best he could, and it was pretty good. Like,
[39:23] Speaker 1: way to go, Bryce, y'all. Just don't take no more
[39:26] Speaker 1: pictures with Mina. That that just that messed everything up
[39:29] Speaker 1: for you.
[39:31] Speaker 4: Man that was a bit of a tough beat all
[39:33] Speaker 4: right well let's transition a bit more of a serious
[39:35] Speaker 4: topic Trump administration says they will send hundreds more federal
[39:39] Speaker 4: agents to Minneapolis over the week following the weekend uh
[39:43] Speaker 4: to support ICE agents after of course the shooting of
[39:47] Speaker 4: a woman there um But what's your reaction to what's
[39:50] Speaker 4: going on in Minnesota?
[39:51] Speaker 1: All right, man. So this is my thing about ice
[39:53] Speaker 1: and there. And, you know, I think most of the
[39:57] Speaker 1: top line things have been said by people already. I
[40:00] Speaker 1: think observing what happened is fairly obvious what it was.
[40:05] Speaker 1: I'm a bit out of the business of saying obvious
[40:07] Speaker 1: things at this point.
[40:08] Speaker 3: Right.
[40:09] Speaker 1: Like that's that's not the direction that I want to
[40:11] Speaker 1: go in. And generally speaking, I'm out of the business
[40:13] Speaker 1: of watching people get shot. OK, so I have not like.
[40:18] Speaker 1: So deep in the like, I don't know the way
[40:21] Speaker 1: to put it, but, you know, when we used to
[40:22] Speaker 1: talk about the police killing people all the time before
[40:24] Speaker 1: we got bored with it, I used to get in
[40:26] Speaker 1: there and like watch these videos and, you know, get
[40:29] Speaker 1: in and investigating. It was like I was trying to
[40:31] Speaker 1: prove a point, like argue the truth of the matter
[40:34] Speaker 1: to people to win the argument until realizing that the
[40:38] Speaker 1: particulars didn't matter. The particulars weren't the point.
[40:42] Speaker 6: Right.
[40:43] Speaker 1: And there were all these little details that you could
[40:45] Speaker 1: come up with that you were trying to explain if
[40:46] Speaker 1: it was justified or not. The laws were engineered in
[40:48] Speaker 1: such a way to where this question never really came up.
[40:53] Speaker 1: And the real issue was just about whether or not
[40:56] Speaker 1: people possess the requisite level of empathy for black people
[41:01] Speaker 1: under these circumstances, right? And I felt like that was
[41:04] Speaker 1: the fight that was being had at that time was
[41:06] Speaker 1: a fight.
[41:08] Speaker 2: About humanity.
[41:10] Speaker 1: And there was always a little subtle undercurrent of the
[41:14] Speaker 1: discussion which basically implied that white people didn't care that
[41:19] Speaker 1: much if white people got shot by the cops either, right?
[41:23] Speaker 1: Like the argument would wind up being from some people,
[41:26] Speaker 1: and I'd seen this often where black folks would bring
[41:28] Speaker 1: up these numbers about black people getting killed by the
[41:30] Speaker 1: cops and what happens when black people get caught by
[41:32] Speaker 1: the cops. And the response to it was, well, this
[41:35] Speaker 1: doesn't just happen to black people, which is a really
[41:38] Speaker 1: interesting answer for people to have, right?
[41:42] Speaker 2: But it was the truth.
[41:44] Speaker 1: All these laws and the way they go apply to
[41:46] Speaker 1: if you smoke a white person too. And they were
[41:49] Speaker 1: on occasion smoking white people and getting away with it. Like,
[41:52] Speaker 1: you know, these same things were going on. We just
[41:54] Speaker 1: got to like a larger police state sort of issue that, again,
[41:59] Speaker 1: I don't think we ever resolved. We just kind of
[42:02] Speaker 1: moved on and talked about something else. Well, now we're
[42:08] Speaker 1: dealing with a different macro issue.
[42:11] Speaker 2: On top of it.
[42:11] Speaker 1: And that issue was ICE.
[42:13] Speaker 3: Okay.
[42:15] Speaker 1: La migra, as nuestros hermanos call it, right? The immigration
[42:21] Speaker 1: police that we have, which is a force that's been
[42:24] Speaker 1: around for a while, but a force that gets beefed
[42:27] Speaker 1: up because they need more people to do the job. Ryan,
[42:30] Speaker 1: I don't know how much subway riding you're doing, but
[42:32] Speaker 1: I've seen the advertisements on there, right?
[42:35] Speaker 2: You know, like they out here.
[42:37] Speaker 1: I'm just saying that they're looking for ICE agents, not
[42:40] Speaker 1: in the places where you get your best and brightest.
[42:43] Speaker 4: I mean, there's articles and faxed figures about the people
[42:46] Speaker 4: they're finding.
[42:47] Speaker 2: They're terrible.
[42:49] Speaker 4: To put it succinctly and bluntly, they're overweight and they
[42:52] Speaker 4: can't read.
[42:53] Speaker 1: Right. And this is not an exaggeration.
[42:55] Speaker 4: Which is at minimum... Not great qualifications for cops.
[42:59] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. This is not a generalization that he's making here. Like,
[43:02] Speaker 1: have you ever seen Cocaine Cowboys?
[43:03] Speaker 4: Yes.
[43:05] Speaker 1: It's a documentary about just kind of the building of
[43:07] Speaker 1: modern Miami, basically. But they made a point that as
[43:10] Speaker 1: Miami got bigger and bigger and the drug game got
[43:13] Speaker 1: bigger and bigger, they needed more and more police.
[43:16] Speaker 2: But they were.
[43:16] Speaker 1: Unable to find police that met the minimum standards that
[43:20] Speaker 1: they had.
[43:21] Speaker 2: For the police force.
[43:22] Speaker 1: Like, for example, it started with you couldn't be a
[43:25] Speaker 1: cop if you would ever use drugs. Okay, well, that
[43:27] Speaker 1: standard was too high. And then it got to be, well,
[43:30] Speaker 1: you haven't used drugs in the last two years. And
[43:32] Speaker 1: that standard was too high. And it got to be,
[43:35] Speaker 1: can you pass a drug test? And that standard was
[43:38] Speaker 1: too high. And it basically got to, are you high
[43:40] Speaker 1: right now? Because this is what happens when you need
[43:44] Speaker 1: to build up the staff of an organization very quickly.
[43:47] Speaker 1: You cannot really have standards. Now, this gentleman that shot
[43:50] Speaker 1: this woman in Minnesota, I don't know how long he's
[43:52] Speaker 1: been there. I mean, for all I know, He is
[43:54] Speaker 1: a decorated police officer somewhere else and then wound up here.
[43:57] Speaker 1: If I had to guess, that's probably not the case, right?
[44:02] Speaker 1: So what we have is a force that has a
[44:04] Speaker 1: lot of not actual law enforcement officers, right?
[44:09] Speaker 4: Substitute teachers at best.
[44:11] Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
[44:12] Speaker 2: Newbies, like volunteers, whatever it is, right? But these are not.
[44:17] Speaker 1: This ain't our best that's out here, okay? So you're
[44:21] Speaker 1: taking these people... And again, I'll let you make your
[44:25] Speaker 1: own conclusions about what happened with the shooting itself. What
[44:28] Speaker 1: I will point out, though, is that the dude the
[44:31] Speaker 1: whole way was filming it himself with his own cell phone, okay?
[44:37] Speaker 1: And when it came time to shoot the woman, passes
[44:40] Speaker 1: the cell phone from one hand to the other hand
[44:43] Speaker 1: so he can use his trigger hand to shoot into
[44:45] Speaker 1: the woman's car and then.
[44:47] Speaker 2: Calls her a bitch after it's said and done, okay?
[44:52] Speaker 1: The reason that this cat is filming this, this isn't
[44:55] Speaker 1: a body cam that I'm talking about, right?
[44:57] Speaker 4: Or the dash cam on the car or something like that.
[44:59] Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[45:00] Speaker 2: Or something that exists.
[45:01] Speaker 4: He opted into filming this video.
[45:02] Speaker 1: Yeah, something that exists to document, right? Something that exists
[45:06] Speaker 1: in case something like this happens.
[45:09] Speaker 2: No, man, they out here making content. You see how crazy,
[45:13] Speaker 2: you want to see how crazy that is?
[45:15] Speaker 1: Like this is, this is like, if there's any reflection
[45:19] Speaker 1: of the madness of the world that we live in
[45:22] Speaker 1: right now, is that somebody's out here making content and
[45:27] Speaker 1: did not think to himself, hey, I maybe shouldn't shoot
[45:31] Speaker 1: somebody right now because I'm taking a video of it.
[45:35] Speaker 1: Not just somebody might be taking a video of it.
[45:38] Speaker 1: You never know if somebody's looking, I'm taking a video
[45:41] Speaker 1: of it.
[45:42] Speaker 2: And still shot this woman.
[45:46] Speaker 3: What?
[45:48] Speaker 1: Like, what exactly is it that we're doing? And so
[45:55] Speaker 1: you can send more agents up there because it is
[45:57] Speaker 1: getting kind of cracking, right?
[45:58] Speaker 2: Like this is, I mean, they're big.
[46:00] Speaker 4: That's what happens when a situation gets escalated. Yeah. Yeah,
[46:04] Speaker 4: you know, you know. It's kind of a situation of
[46:09] Speaker 4: our own making, but yes, it is an escalating situation.
[46:11] Speaker 2: Okay, but think about this too.
[46:12] Speaker 1: This is the third high-profile shooting that I can think
[46:15] Speaker 1: of that has happened in Minnesota in the last, I
[46:18] Speaker 1: guess we'll call it 10 years or so. Or not shooting,
[46:23] Speaker 1: police violence situation. I don't know the word.
[46:25] Speaker 2: Officer involved, is that how they put it?
[46:27] Speaker 3: Yes.
[46:27] Speaker 2: One of them obviously is George.
[46:29] Speaker 1: Floyd, right? This one is this one. But the first one,
[46:36] Speaker 1: I don't know if people realize this, you know, the
[46:39] Speaker 1: police don't never get in trouble for shooting people, okay?
[46:44] Speaker 1: I believe at the time that there had been, there's
[46:48] Speaker 1: been one incident in the state of Minnesota where a
[46:50] Speaker 1: police officer had, I don't remember if it was brought
[46:55] Speaker 1: under indictment, conviction, whatever it is, for shooting a civilian.
[46:59] Speaker 1: And it was this one, and it was when it
[47:01] Speaker 1: was a Somali police officer, okay? And a woman walked
[47:07] Speaker 1: around to his side of the car. And he turned
[47:11] Speaker 1: and shot her.
[47:13] Speaker 3: Okay?
[47:13] Speaker 1: And they got him for that one. Now, I've been
[47:16] Speaker 1: paying attention to people getting shot by the police all
[47:18] Speaker 1: the time along with living a life where I'm trying
[47:21] Speaker 1: not to get shot by the police. That sort of situation,
[47:25] Speaker 1: I guarantee you if it's me, ain't nobody getting indicted.
[47:28] Speaker 3: Okay?
[47:29] Speaker 2: You walked up over that man's shoulder. He feared for
[47:32] Speaker 2: his life.
[47:33] Speaker 7: Right?
[47:34] Speaker 2: Turned and shot.
[47:36] Speaker 1: That's this situation to me, Ryan, is like it was
[47:40] Speaker 1: a white woman. Important to note. So this situation is
[47:44] Speaker 1: like the in-between of the two.
[47:45] Speaker 4: Right.
[47:46] Speaker 1: It looks fairly indefensible, but also has a combination of that.
[47:50] Speaker 1: Maybe you shouldn't do that thing that people easily jump on.
[47:54] Speaker 1: I'm not saying that's true. I'm just saying that's the
[47:55] Speaker 1: thing that people easily jump on. But it's also a
[47:58] Speaker 1: white woman who wound up getting shot. So like somebody
[48:01] Speaker 1: who doesn't necessarily fit the profile, who gets shot by
[48:03] Speaker 1: the police when people start shrugging their shoulders.
[48:05] Speaker 5: Right.
[48:07] Speaker 2: That whole jumbled mess of things.
[48:09] Speaker 1: I doubt that there's going to be any punishment that's
[48:12] Speaker 1: laid down, especially because the FBI say that they want
[48:14] Speaker 1: to look into it. And that seems potentially self-serving, I
[48:19] Speaker 1: think is the fairest way to put what that might be.
[48:22] Speaker 1: But bottom line is we are at a place in
[48:26] Speaker 1: our society, in this society, where somebody will shoot you
[48:32] Speaker 1: while making a video of it. and not think twice
[48:37] Speaker 1: about putting down the fucking phone.
[48:41] Speaker 4: All right, Bo, get the voicemails. Time to read back
[48:48] Speaker 4: a show favorite.
[48:50] Speaker 3: What's up?
[48:50] Speaker 4: What's up?
[48:51] Speaker 8: Happy New Year to everyone. This is DJ Mike Hitman.
[48:55] Speaker 8: I got the D's. I got to tell y'all, 25
[48:57] Speaker 8: is over. 2026 is here. It's a new year. I
[48:59] Speaker 8: got the D's.
[49:00] Speaker 5: I want to say, I want the man.
[49:05] Speaker 8: To be man. The three things I need y'all to
[49:07] Speaker 8: do first, get out your mama house. You got to
[49:11] Speaker 8: get out your mama house. Get out the basement, pay
[49:13] Speaker 8: your own bill.
[49:14] Speaker 7: You should have your own car and you should have
[49:17] Speaker 7: your own apartment because if you.
[49:19] Speaker 8: Don't have your own apartment, a woman can't put you out.
[49:22] Speaker 8: You could go to your own place. That's the problem, man.
[49:25] Speaker 8: You're living with these women that put you out. It's
[49:27] Speaker 8: time for you to be man.
[49:28] Speaker 1: Man.
[49:30] Speaker 8: You got to get out of them damn jerseys. You
[49:32] Speaker 8: ain't Roger Staubach. You ain't Drew Pearce. And you ain't Tom.
[49:35] Speaker 7: Landry walking around with them damn jerseys.
[49:38] Speaker 8: Get out of them damn jerseys. You don't play football.
[49:40] Speaker 8: Be a man. Get a shirt and a tag. Get
[49:42] Speaker 8: a job.
[49:43] Speaker 3: Okay?
[49:44] Speaker 7: I need all you men to go get, if you
[49:46] Speaker 7: don't know how to fix nothing, if not a damn thing,
[49:49] Speaker 7: go get a hammer, a screwdriver, a plier.
[49:52] Speaker 8: Keep it around the house. Make it seem like you
[49:54] Speaker 8: know how to do something. Because if you don't, I'm
[49:57] Speaker 8: going to be the maintenance man coming over there Hello,
[50:00] Speaker 8: what do you need fixed? Okay, get the tools in
[50:03] Speaker 8: the house, guys.
[50:04] Speaker 7: It's 2026.
[50:05] Speaker 8: Play like you know how to fix something.
[50:08] Speaker 7: This is what you got to have, guys. Have your
[50:10] Speaker 7: own car. Have your own place. Have your own money.
[50:15] Speaker 1: You know why?
[50:15] Speaker 7: Because if you got your own car, you can drive places.
[50:18] Speaker 8: Nobody got to take you.
[50:20] Speaker 7: You got your own house or your apartment, you don't
[50:23] Speaker 7: have to be worried to get put out.
[50:25] Speaker 8: Because you're in our house, you say get out, you
[50:26] Speaker 8: got somewhere to go and sleep. If you got your
[50:29] Speaker 8: own money.
[50:30] Speaker 7: You don't have to go to White Council. You can
[50:32] Speaker 7: go to Red Lobster. You can go to Binigan.
[50:35] Speaker 8: You can go to Michael Jordan because you're making your
[50:37] Speaker 8: own money. Quit depending on these women.
[50:40] Speaker 7: Women are good when you walk with them, talk with them,
[50:43] Speaker 7: hold them. That's what all they do. Other things than that,
[50:47] Speaker 7: you don't need a woman for everything. I need a
[50:50] Speaker 7: woman because she cook greens.
[50:55] Speaker 3: Dang.
[50:57] Speaker 2: True gay.
[50:57] Speaker 4: That is the abridged version.
[51:00] Speaker 2: Yes, that is true gay.
[51:03] Speaker 1: Mike here with me right now asking what time is going.
[51:07] Speaker 2: To run. That's what that text was about, right?
[51:09] Speaker 4: Okay, I was very confused. All right, let's get to
[51:12] Speaker 4: our next one.
[51:13] Speaker 3: Hey, Bo. It's E from the DMV. I got an
[51:17] Speaker 3: FCS football question. So Montana State just won national championship.
[51:22] Speaker 3: And we know North Dakota State is a superpower at
[51:25] Speaker 3: this level. But what is the glitch in the matrix
[51:29] Speaker 3: out there that those schools have found to be so
[51:33] Speaker 3: powerful every year? Because both the Montana schools seem to
[51:36] Speaker 3: be good every year. South Dakota State's a championship-level team
[51:41] Speaker 3: as well. What is happening out there on the frontier
[51:44] Speaker 3: that they get all these Cooper-Dejean dream teams and are
[51:47] Speaker 3: beating everybody else up? I know those schools are the
[51:51] Speaker 3: only shows in town in those states, but everybody has
[51:54] Speaker 3: nice facilities now. How are they getting players or coaches
[51:58] Speaker 3: and destroying everybody? Thanks, man. Talk to you later.
[52:01] Speaker 1: All right, so I think there are a couple things here.
[52:04] Speaker 1: We are stretching the extent of my powers, but I'm
[52:06] Speaker 1: going to go for this, right? Number one is we
[52:09] Speaker 1: talked about with Coop Jean, who's from South Dakota. Can't
[52:13] Speaker 1: nobody tell you you can't play corner out there because it's.
[52:16] Speaker 2: Only y'all playing corner. You see what I'm saying?
[52:19] Speaker 1: Like, you got to rise up in a different sort
[52:23] Speaker 1: of way because there's nobody to trample your self-esteem and
[52:26] Speaker 1: tell you that you're not good enough, right? Like, yo,
[52:29] Speaker 1: I've said this many times. All them super cold white boys, man,
[52:33] Speaker 1: they tend to be places super cold and full of
[52:37] Speaker 1: white boys, right? That's a big part of it. Number two,
[52:42] Speaker 1: I'm going to just throw this out here for you.
[52:47] Speaker 1: If a brother want it so bad that he going
[52:49] Speaker 1: to go to Montana to get it, he ain't going
[52:51] Speaker 1: out there to fuck around.
[52:53] Speaker 2: You understand what I'm saying?
[52:56] Speaker 1: Like, if you want it so bad that you willing
[52:58] Speaker 1: to go out there, you mean fitness with a D.
[53:02] Speaker 1: So I imagine that you get some like cold beast
[53:05] Speaker 1: on that front, right?
[53:06] Speaker 2: Or, you know, a lot of can't go back all stars.
[53:09] Speaker 1: Now you got to go all the way out there
[53:11] Speaker 1: to Minnesota and Montana to make it happen.
[53:13] Speaker 2: It's going to be that. And then there's number three.
[53:16] Speaker 1: This is the part that gets forgotten, okay? Montana football
[53:22] Speaker 1: may not be a big deal to you, but Montana
[53:25] Speaker 1: football is a big deal in Montana, right? There are
[53:30] Speaker 1: people at Montana and Montana State who really, really care
[53:33] Speaker 1: about the football. And some of them may not got
[53:36] Speaker 1: all the bread, but they got some bread, right?
[53:39] Speaker 2: They got a little money.
[53:41] Speaker 1: The forces of competition are still going to be there.
[53:43] Speaker 1: They got a level at which they can be good.
[53:45] Speaker 1: And once they decide they're going to be good, they're
[53:47] Speaker 1: going to invest in what level of being good they
[53:51] Speaker 1: can wind up getting.
[53:53] Speaker 2: It's catch cheating in Juco, baby.
[53:55] Speaker 4: People in this country love football everywhere. All sorts of
[53:59] Speaker 4: football at every level. People love football.
[54:02] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[54:02] Speaker 1: And if you set it up in such a way
[54:04] Speaker 1: where the state is just big enough to have two teams,
[54:07] Speaker 1: even if it's just two teams that play on the
[54:09] Speaker 1: same level, Okay, now the economics of it comes into play.
[54:13] Speaker 1: Now they battling, you see what I'm saying? And now
[54:16] Speaker 1: it goes, right? You know, and then, you know, there's
[54:19] Speaker 1: the other part, man. So all the white boys up
[54:23] Speaker 1: in ways, from what I've seen on the internet and
[54:26] Speaker 1: in documentaries.
[54:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I've seen Yellowstone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They
[54:30] Speaker 4: get real mad up there.
[54:31] Speaker 1: Y'all are not here for being tread upon. Is that
[54:34] Speaker 1: how they put it?
[54:35] Speaker 4: I believe that is what that has been co-opted to make.
[54:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, buddy. And I tell you this, too.
[54:40] Speaker 1: You better not try to carjack none of them. Oh, no.
[54:43] Speaker 2: They ready.
[54:45] Speaker 4: All right, we got two more.
[54:47] Speaker 3: Hi, Bo.
[54:47] Speaker 5: This is Doug from Tokyo. Long time person. I wanted
[54:51] Speaker 5: to call about that throwback Tuesday.
[54:53] Speaker 3: The USC-Texas game.
[54:56] Speaker 5: I am an Oregon alum. I was in school for
[54:59] Speaker 5: that 2005 season, and of course the Pac-10 had the
[55:01] Speaker 5: perfect round robin series at that time, so we played USC.
[55:06] Speaker 4: That was a huge game.
[55:07] Speaker 5: Students had to line up for tickets, and it was
[55:10] Speaker 5: a mile long, so that was dropped on Tuesday or
[55:13] Speaker 5: Wednesday that week. And then we got our doors blown off, 45-13.
[55:18] Speaker 5: and sending from the student section, seeing Reggie Bush in
[55:21] Speaker 5: person was not fair. 2005, for the younger viewers, was
[55:26] Speaker 5: also when YouTube came out, and one of the first
[55:29] Speaker 5: things we went to see on YouTube was the Reggie.
[55:31] Speaker 4: Bush high school highlights. I think those are probably.
[55:34] Speaker 5: Still up, and those are still a treat. But as
[55:36] Speaker 5: an Oregon fan, seeing Reggie Bush play in person, and
[55:39] Speaker 5: then the next year seeing Adrian Peterson, members of boys
[55:43] Speaker 5: in the college game at a university that's supposed to
[55:46] Speaker 5: be injecting all this money into the Completely unfair.
[55:50] Speaker 4: We did have a squad in 2005. We went 10-1.
[55:52] Speaker 5: Actually, 10-2 with the offseason and lost to both Reggie
[55:56] Speaker 5: Bush and Adrian Peterson. I guess that's how it goes.
[55:59] Speaker 8: Thanks.
[56:00] Speaker 5: Love the show.
[56:02] Speaker 2: Yeah, boy. Like, that was the thing. He said it
[56:05] Speaker 2: before I could. That Oregon team was actually pretty good.
[56:08] Speaker 4: I mean, those early, you know, mid-2000s Oregon teams.
[56:13] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[56:13] Speaker 4: I mean, they should have won the national title in 07.
[56:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, until Dennis Dixon got hurt. Yeah.
[56:18] Speaker 5: Um.
[56:18] Speaker 2: But he also brought up something, and that was real.
[56:21] Speaker 2: There was the Reggie White YouTube take.
[56:24] Speaker 4: Reggie Bush.
[56:25] Speaker 1: Reggie Bush, big difference.
[56:29] Speaker 2: Although, can you imagine if there was a high school
[56:31] Speaker 2: Reggie White take?
[56:32] Speaker 3: No.
[56:33] Speaker 1: But there was also the Noel Devine take, which came
[56:36] Speaker 1: out around a similar time, and that was comedy.
[56:40] Speaker 2: Like, literal comedy.
[56:41] Speaker 1: It was like watching iJob off of, whatchamacallit, James Bond.
[56:47] Speaker 1: In a good way, though.
[56:48] Speaker 4: Yeah. All right, Bo, here's our last one.
[56:52] Speaker 6: Hey, Bo Money.
[56:53] Speaker 3: This is Will from Oklahoma City.
[56:54] Speaker 6: I was just calling. So one of my favorite bits
[57:00] Speaker 6: on the show is, say, people whose names may not
[57:05] Speaker 6: match exactly what you're expecting. So, for example, like Federal
[57:11] Speaker 6: Reserve Chair Jerome Powell would be one. But I want
[57:15] Speaker 6: to make a submission. I found a new one the
[57:17] Speaker 6: other night. So, uh, I'm pretty plugged in with the
[57:22] Speaker 6: NBA and I'd heard this name floating around during like,
[57:25] Speaker 6: I don't know, I guess whenever this dude got drafted
[57:27] Speaker 6: or just here and there. Um, but I'm watching the
[57:31] Speaker 6: Thunder Jazz the other night. And, uh, this is the
[57:35] Speaker 6: first time I'd ever seen Bryce Sinsabaugh. Um, and, uh,
[57:43] Speaker 6: that was not what I expected. I love the show.
[57:47] Speaker 6: Keep up the good work. Also, shout out White Monty.
[57:49] Speaker 6: I got an uncle that's White Monty.
[57:51] Speaker 3: Bye.
[57:53] Speaker 1: Actually, I got to say, Bryce Sensabaugh is checking in
[57:56] Speaker 1: exactly as I thought.
[57:57] Speaker 4: Really?
[57:57] Speaker 1: Because every Sensabaugh I've ever heard of is a professional athlete,
[58:01] Speaker 1: and they are black. There was one that played in
[58:02] Speaker 1: the NFL and went to Carolina named Gerald Sensabaugh. He
[58:05] Speaker 1: is good friends with my buddy Michael Felder, and I'm
[58:08] Speaker 1: just here to tell you there's no question about where
[58:11] Speaker 1: Gerald Sensabaugh falls in line.
[58:13] Speaker 2: Also, I feel like we have taken Bryce.
[58:15] Speaker 4: You have taken– I mean, that might be a two
[58:18] Speaker 4: Americas taking Bryce.
[58:19] Speaker 2: Ah, you got a good point. You got a good point.
[58:22] Speaker 2: You know what? He's Bryce with an I and not
[58:23] Speaker 2: a Y.
[58:24] Speaker 4: That's a good counter.
[58:25] Speaker 1: So I can see it. But yeah, the sense of ball,
[58:28] Speaker 1: I can see being ours. By the way, I meant
[58:30] Speaker 1: to bring up white Jerome Powell.
[58:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, in the news. Yeah, in the news.
[58:34] Speaker 1: Because word on the street is that Trump is trying
[58:38] Speaker 1: to put this man under... He's the chairman of the
[58:40] Speaker 1: Federal Reserve. And he's not even trying to put him
[58:41] Speaker 1: under indictment for actually stealing money. It's for a renovation
[58:44] Speaker 1: of a building, right?
[58:46] Speaker 3: Which.
[58:46] Speaker 4: is ironic, also given, you know.
[58:48] Speaker 2: That's a great point. Like, anytime something like that.
[58:51] Speaker 1: Happens, I'm like, does Trump remember that Jerome Powell is
[58:56] Speaker 1: who he is, right? Or is he assuming it's another Jerome,
[59:00] Speaker 1: and therefore he's just going with the standard playbook, except
[59:02] Speaker 1: Trump be trying to throw white people in jail, too.
[59:04] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
[59:06] Speaker 1: He's the guy that's like, I'm not racist. I just
[59:09] Speaker 1: hate people. But hey, ladies and gentlemen, thanks so much
[59:15] Speaker 1: for joining us here on The Right Time. We do
