Bomani Jones reacts to a stacked weekend of NBA action, including the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the Detroit Pistons, the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. the Denver Nuggets, the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. the Denver Nuggets & the San Antonio Spurs vs. the New York Knicks. He argues that the NBA season is finally heating up, and we should get excited about the regular season stretch run. Later, he discusses how the NFL Combine is for dorks and that teams like the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers should be lining up to sign Kyler Murray. Finally, he discusses the weird thing about the war in Iran, the Hawks' upcoming Magic City Monday promotion, and laughes at the idea of Colin Cowherd AI. Learn more about your ad choices. [0:05] Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A wave original.
[0:10] Speaker 1: My name is Beaumont Jones. Thanks for listening wherever you
[0:12] Speaker 1: get your podcast. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
[0:17] Speaker 1: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
[0:20] Speaker 1: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
[0:22] Speaker 1: a hater. I got some kind of sort of combine thoughts.
[0:26] Speaker 1: I usually don't do that. But, you know, you got
[0:29] Speaker 1: to meet people where they at. You know what I'm saying?
[0:31] Speaker 1: Got some of that, you know, weirdo stories at the
[0:33] Speaker 1: end of the show. But I got to tell you something.
[0:36] Speaker 1: And I talk about this just about every year. I
[0:38] Speaker 1: don't have much of a problem admitting this, that we
[0:42] Speaker 1: get so overrun by football from September to February that
[0:47] Speaker 1: I dip my toe into the NBA before football season's over,
[0:51] Speaker 1: and then now is the time to really, really, really
[0:55] Speaker 1: get in there. Every now and then, you get to
[0:57] Speaker 1: watching the game, and Ryan, I don't know if this
[1:00] Speaker 1: happens to you, but More and more because I don't
[1:03] Speaker 1: follow college basketball.
[1:05] Speaker 2: Like I used to.
[1:06] Speaker 3: Right.
[1:06] Speaker 2: Boy, you can sneak a motherfucker.
[1:07] Speaker 1: In there I ain't never heard of real smooth. Minnesota
[1:10] Speaker 1: got some African dude that's new, but he seems to
[1:12] Speaker 1: be very good. Yeah.
[1:15] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:15] Speaker 1: Like this is that time of year, especially if you
[1:17] Speaker 1: like used to play for a handful of teams. For example,
[1:21] Speaker 1: that Gafford dude that the Mavericks got that year they
[1:23] Speaker 1: went to the finals. I had never heard of him
[1:26] Speaker 1: and I could not understand how that was possible. And
[1:28] Speaker 1: then they told me that he played for the Wizards.
[1:31] Speaker 3: That'll do it.
[1:32] Speaker 2: Witness protection.
[1:33] Speaker 3: Especially this year when, like, it's almost two-thirds of the league.
[1:37] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:37] Speaker 3: Who are just, you know, not trying.
[1:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a lot of teams that I
[1:42] Speaker 2: don't need to check.
[1:42] Speaker 1: Like, Sacramento, that's also witness protection, where you can go
[1:45] Speaker 1: over there, except for that one year, right? You go
[1:47] Speaker 1: over to Sacramento, like, I get to play in the
[1:49] Speaker 1: Immaculate Grid, man. I don't know what to do. They
[1:52] Speaker 1: fuck around and put Sacramento in.
[1:54] Speaker 2: Orlando, and it's like, damn.
[1:56] Speaker 1: This could be who I got to like really start
[1:59] Speaker 1: working my way through some old three way trades. But anyway,
[2:02] Speaker 1: now's the time to like really get this going with
[2:03] Speaker 1: the NBA. Like you see more of the Knicks because
[2:05] Speaker 1: we live here and stuff like that. And I also
[2:07] Speaker 1: watched the Knicks play against the Spurs.
[2:09] Speaker 2: They put the hurt on.
[2:10] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
[2:11] Speaker 2: I was a little surprised. Now, granted, I do think
[2:15] Speaker 2: the Knicks and the Lakers both have this one. And
[2:17] Speaker 2: I guess the Clippers, too.
[2:19] Speaker 1: But they mess around to play a team in that
[2:21] Speaker 1: early Sunday slot or whatever early is for local.
[2:25] Speaker 2: Y'all should win.
[2:26] Speaker 3: Right.
[2:26] Speaker 2: People had fun.
[2:28] Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
[2:28] Speaker 1: It's the Spurs one time pulling up. If y'all get
[2:32] Speaker 1: to play them on Sunday, y'all should win, right?
[2:36] Speaker 2: But no, good.
[2:36] Speaker 1: I mean, Carl Towns played well. It was a strong game.
[2:40] Speaker 1: But I also watched three other games this weekend. I
[2:42] Speaker 1: watched Detroit-Cleveland. I watched Oklahoma City and the Nuggets. And
[2:48] Speaker 1: then I watched the Nuggets again against Minnesota. Nuggets, not
[2:51] Speaker 1: a great weekend. I feel like they need to be
[2:54] Speaker 1: glad that Mike Malone is doing TV and not being
[2:56] Speaker 1: the coach because I bet he would be miserable to
[2:59] Speaker 1: be around after the weekend that they had. But I
[3:03] Speaker 1: mentioned those games because those games were good, right? And
[3:06] Speaker 1: they were good for, I'd say, an interesting range of reasons.
[3:09] Speaker 1: Detroit and Cleveland was the sort of game that I
[3:13] Speaker 1: ordinarily would have wanted to watch and then found out
[3:18] Speaker 1: that Donovan Mitchell was not playing. I think James Harden
[3:21] Speaker 1: was also out of that game. I would find out
[3:24] Speaker 1: that those two guys were not playing in that game,
[3:27] Speaker 1: and then I would not watch that game anymore, right?
[3:31] Speaker 2: I don't know.
[3:33] Speaker 1: Like, Ryan, I feel like it was a good game,
[3:35] Speaker 1: but I don't know if the way I'm putting this
[3:37] Speaker 1: is going to make this seem, but You know, the
[3:40] Speaker 1: Pistons didn't quite bring it.
[3:42] Speaker 2: As they should have.
[3:43] Speaker 3: Right.
[3:43] Speaker 2: And that's, that's, that's, that's, there we go. Okay. But
[3:46] Speaker 2: at the same time, that was Jared Allen, Evan Mobley. Okay.
[3:49] Speaker 1: Those are NBA players. Dennis Schroeder, Sam Merrill, and Jalen Tyson.
[3:55] Speaker 1: And a dude named Naquan was the first man off
[3:57] Speaker 1: the bench. A series of gentlemen that I'm not very
[4:01] Speaker 1: familiar with came off the bench.
[4:02] Speaker 3: For sure.
[4:03] Speaker 2: And it was a game.
[4:05] Speaker 1: Right.
[4:05] Speaker 2: Like it was an intense like I mean, look, Detroit,
[4:09] Speaker 2: they're back.
[4:10] Speaker 3: Right.
[4:10] Speaker 1: The city is clearly back into it. I realize this,
[4:14] Speaker 1: especially since it's been a while since they moved out
[4:16] Speaker 1: the palace. But I had had a whole lot of
[4:18] Speaker 1: watch the Pistons since they left the palace situations.
[4:20] Speaker 5: Right.
[4:20] Speaker 2: It still feels weird when I watch a game there.
[4:23] Speaker 3: It's been a long 15 years.
[4:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, it has been. It has been like last year.
[4:26] Speaker 1: You know, we got in and checked out a little bit.
[4:29] Speaker 1: But honestly, it was a really, really good game, even
[4:31] Speaker 1: with Cunningham filing out late and everything else. I know
[4:34] Speaker 1: Jared Allen also filed out on that one. But it
[4:35] Speaker 1: was an intense, really hard play game, followed by Oklahoma
[4:41] Speaker 1: City and Denver. And that one was serious, right? Everybody
[4:46] Speaker 1: was there for right. Two best players in the NBA
[4:48] Speaker 1: playing in that game, right? Chet's back playing in that.
[4:51] Speaker 1: That game went hard.
[4:52] Speaker 2: Lou Dort. Lou Dort.
[4:54] Speaker 1: Had a moment in that game that seems to happen
[4:57] Speaker 1: somewhat often with these cats in the NBA where somehow
[4:59] Speaker 1: they forget that Jokic is real big.
[5:02] Speaker 3: Big and scary and intense.
[5:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a.
[5:07] Speaker 1: He's... You know what Jokic got? Jokic got a lot
[5:11] Speaker 1: of I ain't no sucky in him, right?
[5:13] Speaker 2: Because he's just kind of a, hey, just run up
[5:14] Speaker 2: and down the floor, play basketball, be excellent, right?
[5:17] Speaker 1: But every now and then he needs to remind you that, like,
[5:20] Speaker 1: y'all want these problems.
[5:22] Speaker 2: Lou Dort, you know, like what.
[5:24] Speaker 1: The thing Lou Dort did wasn't like the biggest cheap
[5:26] Speaker 1: shot we've ever seen, right? But once Jokic ran up
[5:30] Speaker 1: on him, I mean, for you to be Lou Dort, baby,
[5:33] Speaker 1: you can't, you gotta be full troll. Or if you're
[5:37] Speaker 1: going to play the way he plays, you got to
[5:39] Speaker 1: be ready to fight too. Right.
[5:40] Speaker 3: Like you got a full Patrick Beverly.
[5:42] Speaker 2: You got to be at his size. You got to
[5:44] Speaker 2: be a defenseman, right?
[5:45] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[5:46] Speaker 1: Big football playing Joker. Like that's what it's got to be.
[5:49] Speaker 1: Jokic ran up on him and he was like, Ooh,
[5:53] Speaker 1: I properly do the math on this situation. Um, then
[5:59] Speaker 1: we had this, uh, Minnesota Denver game, which, uh, I'd
[6:02] Speaker 1: say it wasn't a great game in terms.
[6:04] Speaker 2: Of the margin.
[6:05] Speaker 1: Jokic played a really good game. Not enough dudes showed up.
[6:08] Speaker 1: But Minnesota, dude, Anthony Edwards, the legend killer. I don't
[6:12] Speaker 1: know what Minnesota is going to do in the playoffs.
[6:15] Speaker 1: I would not want to play Minnesota in the playoffs
[6:17] Speaker 1: because I've watched the playoffs for the last two years, right? Like,
[6:21] Speaker 1: Minnesota is such a weird team in the sense that
[6:23] Speaker 1: they have been to the Western Conference Finals two years
[6:26] Speaker 1: in a row, and not a single one of us
[6:28] Speaker 1: is looking at them like, don't you think it's time
[6:30] Speaker 1: to take the next step? which is typically how we
[6:34] Speaker 1: view it if you're making it to the Western Conference
[6:36] Speaker 1: Finals two years in a row. That is, I guess,
[6:40] Speaker 1: a byproduct of this era of parody. Me and Goff
[6:42] Speaker 1: talked about this last week. I grew up with Dynasty Sagas.
[6:45] Speaker 1: I kind of prefer Dynasty Sagas. But we do have,
[6:48] Speaker 1: we got a Western Conference where I don't know if
[6:52] Speaker 1: there are six teams that can win. In fact, I
[6:55] Speaker 1: know there are not six teams that can win the
[6:56] Speaker 1: West because Houston cannot. But there are, I'd say five
[7:01] Speaker 1: teams that I think could make it to the conference finals,
[7:03] Speaker 1: and I'm again removing Houston from this, and it's the
[7:06] Speaker 1: structural point guard issue. I just don't think that that
[7:10] Speaker 1: roster could pull that off.
[7:11] Speaker 3: Do you count the Lakers in those five?
[7:13] Speaker 2: Hell no.
[7:14] Speaker 3: Okay, who were the five?
[7:15] Speaker 2: Oh, so I mean four. Sorry, got my count wrong.
[7:18] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[7:19] Speaker 1: And I know that I got my count wrong by
[7:21] Speaker 1: you being like, wait a minute, are you talking about
[7:22] Speaker 1: the Lakers?
[7:23] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[7:23] Speaker 1: No, I am talking about Minnesota, Denver, San Antonio, and
[7:26] Speaker 1: Oklahoma City.
[7:27] Speaker 3: Right.
[7:28] Speaker 2: Right, I forgot it. Houston is the five.
[7:30] Speaker 1: In that one yeah I can see any of those
[7:33] Speaker 1: four going right and we just we just talked about
[7:35] Speaker 1: games but you know basically.
[7:37] Speaker 2: Just you know with three of.
[7:38] Speaker 1: Them here's why I bring up those games and why
[7:41] Speaker 1: I want to talk about this off the top Ryan
[7:43] Speaker 1: I'm curious what you think about this.
[7:46] Speaker 2: I talked about last week.
[7:48] Speaker 1: I think on this Monday show was just the idea
[7:50] Speaker 1: that the NBA regular season I don't know what it
[7:52] Speaker 1: takes I don't know what has to happen in the
[7:54] Speaker 1: regular season the NBA to break through to like really matter.
[7:57] Speaker 1: The Spurs were just on a 12 game winning streak.
[8:00] Speaker 1: And I knew that because you told me. Right.
[8:02] Speaker 6: Right.
[8:04] Speaker 1: I did not realize that. And of course they are
[8:06] Speaker 1: no longer on a 12 game winning streak, but that
[8:09] Speaker 1: should be the big, there's nothing else going on.
[8:12] Speaker 7: Right.
[8:12] Speaker 1: Right. Like Victor went by Yama is living up to
[8:16] Speaker 1: the hype and expectation that was there.
[8:18] Speaker 2: They are two games out of first. in the West.
[8:22] Speaker 2: I do think it's going to matter. Those seedings are actually.
[8:25] Speaker 3: Going to matter. With the tiebreaker against Oklahoma City already.
[8:27] Speaker 2: Right, right.
[8:27] Speaker 1: If this were baseball back in the days, we'd call
[8:31] Speaker 1: it a pennant race. We have a very interesting race
[8:35] Speaker 1: in the West, and we saw it bear out, like, say,
[8:37] Speaker 1: in the way that some of these games look.
[8:39] Speaker 2: Like, Minnesota came in. They were playing to win that game.
[8:42] Speaker 7: Right.
[8:42] Speaker 1: Right?
[8:42] Speaker 2: Like, Denver was.
[8:43] Speaker 1: Nobody was just out here like, oh, one of 82.
[8:46] Speaker 3: Right?
[8:47] Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
[8:47] Speaker 1: They was out there to win that game, that Detroit-Cleveland
[8:50] Speaker 1: game on Friday night. They was out to win that one.
[8:53] Speaker 1: We have a very interesting thing going on in the
[8:55] Speaker 1: East where... And I think it's kind of similar in
[8:58] Speaker 1: the West. I would pick San Antonio to win the West,
[9:01] Speaker 1: except the small problem is they've never won anything. This
[9:04] Speaker 1: particular people, group of people in San Antonio, just to
[9:06] Speaker 1: be clear, they've never won anything.
[9:08] Speaker 2: The same thing with Detroit.
[9:10] Speaker 1: The only reason to not pick them is that they
[9:13] Speaker 1: have not done this before. And by this, we mean
[9:15] Speaker 1: win a series in the first round. Or in the
[9:18] Speaker 1: case of San Antonio, go. Like, actually play in the playoffs, right?
[9:23] Speaker 1: Even with losing to the Knicks. Dude, the no-fly zone
[9:26] Speaker 1: that happens. I mean, I watched Victor guard the ball,
[9:29] Speaker 1: the pass, and the weak side on the same, like,
[9:33] Speaker 1: right at the same time.
[9:34] Speaker 2: Oh, like, it doesn't even seem real. It looks like
[9:38] Speaker 2: he's playing against three-year-olds. Right, like, all right, everybody against Ed, right?
[9:43] Speaker 2: Like it doesn't even seem possible.
[9:46] Speaker 1: But I talked about the regular season and the idea
[9:49] Speaker 1: of the regular season doesn't matter or is treated like
[9:51] Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. I think it's very important for me
[9:55] Speaker 1: to make a distinction because it's easy to lose sight
[9:57] Speaker 1: of this, particularly when talking about the NBA, because people
[10:01] Speaker 1: have a predisposition to think about the worst.
[10:05] Speaker 2: The regular season seems to clearly matter to those guys.
[10:11] Speaker 4: Okay.
[10:12] Speaker 1: Now, There are some teams that have clearly mailed it
[10:17] Speaker 1: in on this season. And I have a problem with
[10:20] Speaker 1: the fact that they have mailed it in on the season.
[10:22] Speaker 1: And a big part of why I have a problem
[10:24] Speaker 1: with the fact that they mailed it in on the
[10:25] Speaker 1: season is that they still charge people money for the tickets.
[10:29] Speaker 3: Right?
[10:30] Speaker 2: Like, you're still a chunk of the cable bill. You're
[10:33] Speaker 2: selling us this.
[10:35] Speaker 1: Being a fan of basketball is not just simply about
[10:38] Speaker 1: the positioning of your team for down the line and
[10:41] Speaker 1: championship and everything else. No, I want to enjoy some games, right?
[10:45] Speaker 1: Like these games are right here. There are teams that
[10:49] Speaker 1: have absolutely given up on that, and I have a
[10:51] Speaker 1: giant problem with it, okay? But there are also situations
[10:55] Speaker 1: where we got a problem with the load management and
[10:57] Speaker 1: everything else, and this has been sold as a superstar league,
[10:59] Speaker 1: but I watched that Cleveland team without their two best players,
[11:02] Speaker 1: and it was a game. It was a game worth watching.
[11:06] Speaker 1: It was an entertaining game. We got a lot of
[11:11] Speaker 1: teams left with a lot to play for, and if
[11:13] Speaker 1: we're being perfectly honest, them teams that are not giving
[11:16] Speaker 1: it their all, you wasn't watching them anyway.
[11:20] Speaker 2: Like, it is an affront.
[11:21] Speaker 1: To the local fans for what they're doing, but if
[11:24] Speaker 1: you're talking about it as a, like, over here, like
[11:28] Speaker 1: a 3,000-foot view, whatever that phrase is, looking down on
[11:32] Speaker 1: the league, you wouldn't go watch them anyway. But the
[11:34] Speaker 1: teams that you're going to watch, oh, there's so much
[11:37] Speaker 1: to watch right now, right? I think I lost track
[11:40] Speaker 1: of my thought earlier, but I didn't even get to
[11:42] Speaker 1: bring it up. The fact that Jason Tatum apparently is
[11:45] Speaker 1: going to try to come back and play.
[11:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, in the next two weeks.
[11:50] Speaker 1: That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, right?
[11:53] Speaker 1: I mean, I can only assume that.
[11:58] Speaker 2: is medically cleared, right?
[12:00] Speaker 3: Yeah, it has to be.
[12:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't, I can't.
[12:03] Speaker 3: By his doctors and the team's.
[12:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[12:05] Speaker 1: It's the only way, I can't assume that anybody, like, look,
[12:07] Speaker 1: I mean, look, Derrick Rose would not have been playing
[12:10] Speaker 1: this season, right? You understand what I'm saying? Like, like,
[12:13] Speaker 1: and by the way, wouldn't be hearing nothing from me
[12:14] Speaker 1: about that.
[12:15] Speaker 2: Of course.
[12:16] Speaker 1: Also, the Bulls would have been leaking. You know, he
[12:17] Speaker 1: actually could have played two and a half months ago.
[12:20] Speaker 1: you know, if that would have come down. But do
[12:22] Speaker 1: you realize how crazy that is? Like, first of all,
[12:24] Speaker 1: the fact that the Celtics have been as good as
[12:26] Speaker 1: they have been, that Jalen Brown, who could not dribble
[12:28] Speaker 1: with his left hand not too long ago.
[12:31] Speaker 3: Is in the top five of MVP conversations.
[12:33] Speaker 2: I mean, he has an argument for being the MVP.
[12:35] Speaker 3: Right.
[12:35] Speaker 1: If you wanted to make it, right? Hey, man, it matters.
[12:41] Speaker 1: These cats are out.
[12:42] Speaker 2: Here, right?
[12:43] Speaker 1: There's a lot of discussion about that 65 game rule.
[12:47] Speaker 1: And I, look, If you don't play 65 games, history
[12:50] Speaker 1: has said you're not the MVP.
[12:52] Speaker 2: Right.
[12:53] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[12:54] Speaker 2: It was the Bill Walton. It was the year Bill
[12:57] Speaker 2: Walton got hurt.
[12:57] Speaker 1: That's basically the only one out of a full 82-game season.
[13:01] Speaker 1: I think there's been like one more or something like that.
[13:03] Speaker 1: But typically, that was always a disqualifying factor. The reason
[13:07] Speaker 1: they put that rule in was not about the MVP.
[13:10] Speaker 1: They put that rule in so that cats who were
[13:12] Speaker 1: trying to make All-NBA and thereby maybe get their Supermax
[13:17] Speaker 1: on would not be out here mailing in games.
[13:20] Speaker 2: That's what they were going for. But the MVP.
[13:23] Speaker 1: This has always been a self-regulating sort of situation. And
[13:27] Speaker 1: the guys that are playing games, Cade Cunningham playing those games,
[13:30] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown playing those games. Those are the guys that
[13:34] Speaker 1: I think we should be talking about for MVP. If
[13:36] Speaker 1: Shea Gilders Alexander gets up around that total of games,
[13:40] Speaker 1: then yeah, we'll talk about it. Jokic missed how much time?
[13:43] Speaker 1: You don't win the MVP when you do that.
[13:47] Speaker 2: You just don't. That has nothing to do with- There's.
[13:50] Speaker 3: Only one person who can win it.
[13:51] Speaker 7: Right.
[13:51] Speaker 3: Only one person who can be the best.
[13:53] Speaker 2: That's correct.
[13:53] Speaker 1: By the way, that has nothing to do with what
[13:55] Speaker 1: I was just talking about. But I did realize I
[13:57] Speaker 1: wanted to talk about that and make that point. So
[13:59] Speaker 1: the point's been made. The point that I'm here to
[14:01] Speaker 1: make is the regular season of basketball.
[14:05] Speaker 2: Can matter as much as we want it to matter.
[14:08] Speaker 1: Because there is basketball that matters that's on right now.
[14:12] Speaker 2: And guess what?
[14:13] Speaker 1: We got another like monthly change of the regular season.
[14:17] Speaker 1: This is about to be a run to the end.
[14:19] Speaker 1: In the West, who you wind up playing is so important.
[14:22] Speaker 1: I think everybody would like to get themselves positioned against Houston.
[14:25] Speaker 1: They're teams that don't want to play each other. The
[14:27] Speaker 1: teams are close enough such that the idea of having
[14:30] Speaker 1: home court is something. Minnesota beat them under these circumstances
[14:34] Speaker 1: two years ago, but I personally would not want to
[14:36] Speaker 1: play a game seven in Denver. If Oklahoma City were
[14:40] Speaker 1: not playing Denver game seven in their house, do they
[14:44] Speaker 1: win that one last year?
[14:46] Speaker 2: I don't think they do.
[14:47] Speaker 3: With Aaron Gordon hopping around on one leg.
[14:49] Speaker 1: Right, and that still is the thing with Denver, right?
[14:51] Speaker 1: As if Aaron Gordon winds up coming back. But San Antonio,
[14:54] Speaker 1: with a team that young, where they play these games,
[14:58] Speaker 1: all of this stuff is going to matter. It's about
[15:01] Speaker 1: to be on fire to the finish. The Knicks, because
[15:04] Speaker 1: all the pressure around them still remains.
[15:07] Speaker 2: And they're a soap opera over there, Ryan.
[15:10] Speaker 1: I don't think people quite pick up on the fact
[15:12] Speaker 1: that the guys don't seem to like the coach that much.
[15:15] Speaker 1: They fired the coach that got them to the conference finals,
[15:18] Speaker 1: which means going to the NBA finals is kind of
[15:20] Speaker 1: sort of the expectation. We got three really interesting teams.
[15:26] Speaker 2: In the East.
[15:27] Speaker 1: We've got four really interesting teams in the West. It's
[15:33] Speaker 1: a thing going on.
[15:35] Speaker 2: Guys, it is.
[15:37] Speaker 1: And I will be very curious to see if all
[15:40] Speaker 1: of us around this are going to treat this like
[15:43] Speaker 1: it's a thing. Because this could be a whole hell
[15:45] Speaker 1: of a lot of fun before the season's over. And
[15:48] Speaker 1: then after that, we get two months of playoff basketball
[15:53] Speaker 1: where this conference, the conference semifinals this year are going
[15:56] Speaker 1: to feel like, my buddy Nick always makes the point
[15:58] Speaker 1: that the best weekend of the season.
[15:59] Speaker 2: In the NFL, and he's right, is the division round.
[16:02] Speaker 2: That is the best one.
[16:04] Speaker 1: That is what the conference semifinals are going to feel
[16:07] Speaker 1: like this year. Like we're going to have two games
[16:09] Speaker 1: a night of great basketball. I cannot wait. Let us
[16:13] Speaker 1: get our minds in that.
[16:15] Speaker 2: We pass All-Star.
[16:16] Speaker 1: We pass that little, you know, withdrawal time we have
[16:20] Speaker 1: from after football. So nothing's good enough for us. So
[16:23] Speaker 1: we just shit on the league. Now we take a
[16:25] Speaker 1: week and you look around and be like, oh, no, baby,
[16:27] Speaker 1: it is popping. And after all that, Ryan, we're just
[16:36] Speaker 1: going to talk about hypothetical football.
[16:38] Speaker 3: Yep.
[16:39] Speaker 1: It's the combine.
[16:41] Speaker 2: It's March. Yeah, it's the combine. Do you think Mark
[16:44] Speaker 2: Sanchez came to the combine?
[16:46] Speaker 3: I think he is. going to be avoiding Indianapolis and
[16:50] Speaker 3: all of it.
[16:51] Speaker 1: I mean, he can only avoid it, but so much,
[16:52] Speaker 1: I'm sure he got some court dates.
[16:54] Speaker 3: Yeah. I think he's going to be just in that courtroom.
[16:58] Speaker 2: How crazy would it be?
[16:59] Speaker 1: If Mark Sanchez had a court date during the combine
[17:02] Speaker 1: and he's just like on his flight or at the
[17:04] Speaker 1: airport or waiting that baggage claim. And everybody's like, Oh,
[17:07] Speaker 1: surprised to see you here. You got a court date
[17:09] Speaker 1: or something.
[17:10] Speaker 2: And he's like, yeah, I do actually. I, it's funny
[17:17] Speaker 2: you mentioned that.
[17:17] Speaker 3: Cause I'm, I think some other information about this dropped.
[17:21] Speaker 3: It turns out Mark Sanchez, and this isn't exactly news,
[17:25] Speaker 3: accusing Sanchez of being under the influence of cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana,
[17:30] Speaker 3: and alcohol under the time of the altercation.
[17:33] Speaker 2: That's right.
[17:33] Speaker 1: However, not included on the list, not even in others
[17:37] Speaker 1: receiving votes, was that dust.
[17:41] Speaker 2: I was still positive. Yo, let me tell you that.
[17:43] Speaker 1: Once you just ran off that list of things that
[17:46] Speaker 1: they say Mark Sanchez was on, and it made him
[17:49] Speaker 1: act like he was on that dust, that is one
[17:52] Speaker 1: hell of a commercial for that dust.
[17:55] Speaker 2: You take.
[17:56] Speaker 3: I think it's the exact... I think it's a bit
[17:59] Speaker 3: of a warning label for that dust.
[18:02] Speaker 2: Also, two things could be true at one time.
[18:06] Speaker 6: But....
[18:08] Speaker 2: He had, like, a Long Island iced tea of dope.
[18:13] Speaker 1: Just everything you got, just throw it in and shake
[18:16] Speaker 1: it up.
[18:17] Speaker 3: You're not supposed to hit Yahtzee with vices.
[18:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He shook it all up. He put
[18:22] Speaker 2: a little bit of coke on top. And there you go. Like,
[18:25] Speaker 2: that was... Man, man. He's going to... He's got to
[18:29] Speaker 2: go to jail for that. Okay, sorry. That wasn't what
[18:31] Speaker 2: we were talking about. The combine....
[18:37] Speaker 1: I don't think nothing greedier than the NFL turning the
[18:40] Speaker 1: combine into like a thing that people watch on TV.
[18:43] Speaker 3: Right.
[18:44] Speaker 2: Like I do believe that once.
[18:47] Speaker 1: You really start like, okay, you get a clip of
[18:49] Speaker 1: somebody doing a vert or running to 40 or whatever
[18:52] Speaker 1: it is.
[18:52] Speaker 2: Okay. That's fine.
[18:54] Speaker 1: But you'd be like watching, you know, you're working the biz.
[18:58] Speaker 1: You just sit up there and you watching. I mean,
[19:03] Speaker 1: that's a little weird.
[19:05] Speaker 3: Right.
[19:06] Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying. That's a little... You know how
[19:10] Speaker 2: it is. It's weird. It's illegal for you to be
[19:13] Speaker 2: at the playground if you ain't got no kids.
[19:17] Speaker 1: This isn't exactly that obviously, but it ain't exactly not that. Right.
[19:24] Speaker 1: But anyway, one of the interesting elements of the combine
[19:27] Speaker 1: is everybody be up there.
[19:29] Speaker 6: Right.
[19:29] Speaker 2: Like I can only be convinced.
[19:31] Speaker 3: You just compared a NFL super NFL fans, sex offenders.
[19:37] Speaker 1: No, I compared them to the people who sit by
[19:40] Speaker 1: the playground. Right. who are not necessarily sex offenders, but
[19:46] Speaker 1: acknowledged to be weirdos.
[19:48] Speaker 3: Fair enough.
[19:50] Speaker 2: There we go. So anyway, the combine.
[19:55] Speaker 1: Which I'm convinced, your greatest testament that the league is
[19:58] Speaker 1: full of dudes who just don't feel like hanging out
[19:59] Speaker 1: with their wives.
[20:00] Speaker 3: Like, the season- Let's all go to Indianapolis at the
[20:02] Speaker 3: end of February.
[20:03] Speaker 2: The season just ended.
[20:05] Speaker 3: Right?
[20:06] Speaker 1: Like, it's not like, it's not like it's been all
[20:10] Speaker 1: summer long or something like that.
[20:11] Speaker 3: The Super Bowl was three weeks ago.
[20:14] Speaker 2: They were all there, too.
[20:16] Speaker 3: Yeah, they were all there.
[20:17] Speaker 6: Right?
[20:19] Speaker 3: We just had a big industry party for a week.
[20:22] Speaker 2: In a much better location.
[20:24] Speaker 3: And so now it's been three weeks. We haven't been
[20:26] Speaker 3: able to work for 50 hours a week. Let's all
[20:28] Speaker 3: go to St. Elmo's in Indianapolis.
[20:30] Speaker 2: But you know what I think part of it is, though?
[20:32] Speaker 1: I do think that part of it is that for
[20:35] Speaker 1: the combine, the tier two people, the.
[20:37] Speaker 2: People that do not get the Super Bowl plug, this
[20:41] Speaker 2: is their party.
[20:42] Speaker 3: This is their VIP event.
[20:43] Speaker 2: This is Old Navy Super Bowl.
[20:46] Speaker 3: Got it.
[20:46] Speaker 2: Of the Super Bowl hierarchy, right? But anyway, they're there.
[20:50] Speaker 3: Seeing a lot of men's warehouse at these events.
[20:52] Speaker 2: There we go, right?
[20:54] Speaker 1: And that's where everybody gets together and they get to
[20:57] Speaker 1: talking and the groundwork for the personnel moves down the
[21:00] Speaker 1: line start happening.
[21:02] Speaker 2: And Ryan sent me something.
[21:03] Speaker 1: And granted, it's from an aggregator account, but it's still worthwhile.
[21:08] Speaker 2: And it makes this point. I'm going to read it.
[21:10] Speaker 2: What is it? Ari Murlov, if that's a person. I
[21:14] Speaker 2: have no idea. Anyway, this was where.
[21:19] Speaker 1: There is a potential scenario this offseason where up to
[21:22] Speaker 1: five veteran quarterbacks with guaranteed money already in 2026 could
[21:25] Speaker 1: be released, and as a result, their next contract with
[21:27] Speaker 1: the new team could be for the minimum. Tua Tungavailoa,
[21:30] Speaker 1: $ 54 million guaranteed. Kyler Murray, $ 36. 8 million guaranteed. Geno Smith,
[21:36] Speaker 1: $ 18. 5 million guaranteed. Kirk Cousins, $ 10 million guaranteed. Justin Fields,
[21:41] Speaker 1: $ 10 million guaranteed.
[21:43] Speaker 2: Okay, I have two thoughts on this.
[21:47] Speaker 1: Number one, Um, apparently nobody in the NFL has ever
[21:52] Speaker 1: heard the song is cheaper to keep. Now, you know,
[21:55] Speaker 1: I know Tua would be offended if he heard that
[21:57] Speaker 1: I was calling him a her, but it's a metaphor,
[21:59] Speaker 1: young man.
[22:01] Speaker 2: Okay.
[22:03] Speaker 1: The whole point of these guarantees and the way they
[22:05] Speaker 1: do this is we go.
[22:06] Speaker 2: Work this out.
[22:08] Speaker 3: Right.
[22:08] Speaker 1: Like like there's some security in the idea.
[22:10] Speaker 2: This didn't work. OK.
[22:12] Speaker 5: All right.
[22:12] Speaker 2: Well, look, we go. We go. We kind of stuck
[22:14] Speaker 2: with each other. We don't have to work this out.
[22:16] Speaker 1: We can't afford to quit this. We don't work this out.
[22:20] Speaker 1: I don't care what we've been saying about to it
[22:22] Speaker 1: and everything else. We are paying him 54. We already
[22:26] Speaker 1: got we already got quarterback in the refrigerator. We're not
[22:29] Speaker 1: going out to eat when we got food and food
[22:31] Speaker 1: that's been paid off. Not a little bit, by the way, right? Like,
[22:35] Speaker 1: we have steak at the house. There is a porterhouse
[22:39] Speaker 1: that I have taken out of the freezer. Like, that's
[22:43] Speaker 1: your quarterback, right?
[22:46] Speaker 3: Doesn't look like it.
[22:49] Speaker 2: I mean, okay. That's all I got. You're not really
[22:56] Speaker 2: trying to win. You can't be. You got $ 54 million
[22:58] Speaker 2: cap hole. Okay.
[23:01] Speaker 3: I think Tua's combined dead money cap number is $ 99 million.
[23:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on, man. What are we talking
[23:08] Speaker 2: about here?
[23:08] Speaker 1: If you see a quarterback worth drafting, go ahead and
[23:13] Speaker 1: do it. But your options are, and you tell me
[23:16] Speaker 1: if I'm wrong here, Tua Tagovailoa, Malik Willis, or another
[23:24] Speaker 1: quarterback whose previous team felt the same way about them
[23:30] Speaker 1: as you feel about The one that you about to
[23:33] Speaker 1: get rid of.
[23:33] Speaker 2: I don't know, man. That sounds like Tua to me.
[23:38] Speaker 2: It could be, right?
[23:39] Speaker 1: Kyler Murray, $ 37 million guaranteed. I'm just going to throw
[23:47] Speaker 1: this out here, okay? I've looked at the stats. When
[23:55] Speaker 1: did Kyler Murray become terrible? Because I don't really see that.
[24:00] Speaker 3: He's had a few very good years.
[24:02] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[24:03] Speaker 3: He tore the ACL a few years ago.
[24:05] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[24:05] Speaker 3: And last year, he just had this mysterious mystery injury. Yes.
[24:11] Speaker 2: And they decided they didn't want to play him anymore.
[24:13] Speaker 3: Correct.
[24:13] Speaker 2: That I.
[24:18] Speaker 2: Look, man.
[24:19] Speaker 1: We have seen evidence of this. And lots of us
[24:22] Speaker 1: have been told this. His soft skills are poor. Clearly
[24:29] Speaker 1: what I mean by that, for those don't understand, is
[24:32] Speaker 1: people don't like him. OK, he comported himself in such
[24:38] Speaker 1: a way that the team felt like they had to
[24:40] Speaker 1: put a video game clause in his contract, basically. OK,
[24:44] Speaker 1: I still think the team was wrong for that. And
[24:46] Speaker 1: they set themselves up for unnecessary scrutiny because ultimately you
[24:49] Speaker 1: were still going to sign them. So it didn't really matter.
[24:51] Speaker 1: But the truth is, it did happen. And they didn't
[24:54] Speaker 1: just pull that out of the air. And his side
[24:56] Speaker 1: didn't feel like they could get it out of the deal.
[24:59] Speaker 3: Right.
[24:59] Speaker 2: Okay. He does not play well with others.
[25:03] Speaker 1: But I'm looking at him on a list with like
[25:06] Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins, who got one leg and is 38, nine
[25:10] Speaker 1: years old.
[25:11] Speaker 3: And is just as likely to be in a booth
[25:14] Speaker 3: next year.
[25:14] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[25:15] Speaker 2: Which it looks like he'll be pretty good at.
[25:17] Speaker 1: Yes.
[25:17] Speaker 3: Better than he is at QBing.
[25:19] Speaker 2: Yeah. And Justin Fields.
[25:21] Speaker 6: And, you know.
[25:23] Speaker 2: We all thought it would go different.
[25:25] Speaker 5: Right.
[25:26] Speaker 2: It just hasn't.
[25:27] Speaker 3: It did not.
[25:28] Speaker 2: They're going to go there.
[25:29] Speaker 1: Geno Smith, I don't really know what to do with
[25:31] Speaker 1: because he was on a terrible team and just felt
[25:34] Speaker 1: like it was YOLO time, whatever. Any little blip I
[25:37] Speaker 1: saw of him on the Red Zone channel, it was
[25:38] Speaker 1: him just saying, fuck it.
[25:40] Speaker 2: The combo of.
[25:41] Speaker 3: Pete Carroll, Chip Kelly, and Pete Carroll's son as the
[25:44] Speaker 3: offensive line coach.
[25:45] Speaker 1: Yes.
[25:46] Speaker 3: Seem to have really broken.
[25:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, it was bad news, but I'll be, I'm looking,
[25:49] Speaker 1: but all of this combined, all these guys we're looking
[25:53] Speaker 1: at to me, Kyler Murray is like a different player
[25:57] Speaker 1: than any of these guys that we talked about here.
[25:59] Speaker 2: Like if you're Minnesota and the Steelers, in fact, that's
[26:02] Speaker 2: what they need to do up there.
[26:03] Speaker 1: And it's sausage party now, an inappropriate term, I think
[26:09] Speaker 1: you get one. Okay, so last week's sausage party was
[26:13] Speaker 1: my limit on.
[26:15] Speaker 3: I would say the one 30 seconds ago was your one.
[26:17] Speaker 2: Oh, wow. I didn't know I had already done it.
[26:20] Speaker 1: Okay.
[26:22] Speaker 7: Anyway.
[26:23] Speaker 3: We're all friends here.
[26:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you haven't been to a sausage party,
[26:27] Speaker 1: the kind of thing you'd never know when an impromptu
[26:33] Speaker 1: wrestling match might break out, right? Just like two dudes
[26:36] Speaker 1: who decide, hey, it's just a bunch of dudes around here.
[26:39] Speaker 2: Who wants to wrestle, right? You know, like in a
[26:43] Speaker 2: dorm or something like that. You know what I mean?
[26:45] Speaker 3: Is that a two-America situation or a one-America situation?
[26:48] Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
[26:49] Speaker 1: I think it's a one American situation. Like, I don't
[26:51] Speaker 1: mean in this case, I don't mean like it's a
[26:53] Speaker 1: sausage party. Like, um, you get there and the ladies
[26:58] Speaker 1: ain't showed up yet.
[26:59] Speaker 5: Right.
[26:59] Speaker 1: We're supposed to be ladies free before 11, but apparently
[27:02] Speaker 1: nobody told him.
[27:02] Speaker 2: And then you just look around us, but you know,
[27:04] Speaker 2: the ratio was all off. I don't mean that kind.
[27:06] Speaker 2: I mean, this more like it's a bunch of dudes
[27:09] Speaker 2: in a dorm or at a sleepaway camp. or something
[27:12] Speaker 2: like that.
[27:12] Speaker 3: Or Vegas for the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.
[27:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[27:15] Speaker 1: And so invariably some roughhousing comes up when you have
[27:19] Speaker 1: this sort of thing happen. Anyway, I bring that up
[27:21] Speaker 1: to say, I don't know who the new general manager
[27:26] Speaker 1: is in Minnesota, but whoever it is, shouldn't him and
[27:29] Speaker 1: Omar Khan have to like wrestle at some bar in
[27:34] Speaker 1: the winter against Kyler Murray?
[27:37] Speaker 3: That would be more interesting to watch than the actual combine.
[27:39] Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, I mean, let's be clear. I'd watch that.
[27:44] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[27:44] Speaker 3: GM fights? Yeah, for sure.
[27:46] Speaker 1: If you're telling me that you just watched the combine
[27:48] Speaker 1: in case a GM fight breaks out, hey, okay, I
[27:52] Speaker 1: see you. But no, if you're one of these teams
[27:56] Speaker 1: that needs a quarterback, that would be, and you're telling
[28:00] Speaker 1: me he's available? Like, I would get an Arizona. Like,
[28:03] Speaker 1: what are you going to do? Are they going to
[28:05] Speaker 1: bring Brissette back again?
[28:08] Speaker 3: I mean, Brissette, drafting someone, they seem to be potentially-
[28:12] Speaker 3: Who are they.
[28:13] Speaker 2: Going to draft? Well, I don't even know if we
[28:15] Speaker 2: got one quarterback in this draft.
[28:19] Speaker 3: This is my favorite part of the combine, too, is
[28:21] Speaker 3: people convincing themselves they like mediocre quarterbacks. Oh, yeah. We're there.
[28:26] Speaker 1: He did a great job throwing it against the ghost man.
[28:29] Speaker 2: Like, he ain't seen the ghost man. The ghost man
[28:30] Speaker 2: had his.
[28:31] Speaker 1: Hand right there, and he just dropped it right over
[28:33] Speaker 1: the ghost man, and he made the catch. No, like,
[28:35] Speaker 1: I'm just, I mean, I'm looking at every scenario here,
[28:37] Speaker 1: and it blows my mind that we're talking about Kyler Murray. Like,
[28:41] Speaker 1: he has been put in the maybe he could have
[28:43] Speaker 1: a Sam Darnold-like resurrection. Kyler Murray should come find you,
[28:47] Speaker 1: stand on a phone book, and slap you in the
[28:49] Speaker 1: face for saying that.
[28:53] Speaker 2: Like, there's never... He's in a completely... He has never
[28:59] Speaker 2: been where Sam Darnold was.
[29:01] Speaker 3: No, not even close.
[29:02] Speaker 2: Not even close.
[29:04] Speaker 1: But I feel like that's the way we talk about him.
[29:07] Speaker 1: The talent is still there.
[29:08] Speaker 2: He's 28.
[29:09] Speaker 1: He'll only be like Speedy Gonzalez fast, a roadrunner, but
[29:16] Speaker 1: for so long. We recognize that.
[29:20] Speaker 2: And, of course, there's the size part. I'm not saying
[29:22] Speaker 2: there are no negatives here.
[29:25] Speaker 1: And from Minnesota, I understand the real issue is y'all
[29:29] Speaker 1: got to have at least one quarterback somebody likes.
[29:32] Speaker 2: Like, can you imagine what it would be like to
[29:34] Speaker 2: be Kevin O'Connell, who clearly can't stand J.J.
[29:37] Speaker 3: McCartney?
[29:38] Speaker 1: He's clearly not the only one right but then you
[29:41] Speaker 1: also give him Kyler Murray well.
[29:46] Speaker 3: If you're the quarterback whisper whisper you know.
[29:48] Speaker 2: Yeah I mean figure it out let me ask you this.
[29:52] Speaker 1: Well that's more rhetorical but for anybody I would assume
[29:56] Speaker 1: right now that people think that Sam Darnold is a
[29:59] Speaker 1: better quarterback than Kyler Murray. By how much and why exactly?
[30:04] Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, two years ago, you wouldn't.
[30:08] Speaker 2: Have dreamed of saying that.
[30:11] Speaker 1: I just don't see this Kyler Murray has fallen off
[30:15] Speaker 1: completely thing.
[30:16] Speaker 3: Would you rather have Kyler Murray or Baker Mayfield?
[30:21] Speaker 2: Ooh, that is interesting. Because they're both.
[30:26] Speaker 2: They're both starting quarterbacks.
[30:29] Speaker 3: Would you rather have Kyler Murray or Bryce Young?
[30:32] Speaker 2: Kyler Murray, not even close.
[30:34] Speaker 3: Would you rather have Kyler Murray or Jalen Hurts?
[30:40] Speaker 2: I would rather have Kyler Murray.
[30:44] Speaker 3: Would you rather have Kyler Murray or Brock Purdy?
[30:47] Speaker 1: Ooh.
[30:49] Speaker 4: Okay.
[30:52] Speaker 1: I would rather have Kyler Murray, comma, but I can't
[30:57] Speaker 1: confidently say he's better than Brock Purdy. And that's because
[31:01] Speaker 1: this Brock, even if I can acknowledge he's better than
[31:05] Speaker 1: I ever thought he would be, that'll be an outlaw.
[31:08] Speaker 3: Would you rather have Kyler Murray or Bo Nix?
[31:11] Speaker 2: Kyler Murray. You know what?
[31:13] Speaker 1: I think the way to play this game is where
[31:14] Speaker 1: it gets fun is if we, if we plugged Kyler
[31:17] Speaker 1: Murray into some of those situations that we're talking about,
[31:20] Speaker 1: for example, if Kyler Murray were the quarterback of the
[31:23] Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks, how much different.
[31:25] Speaker 2: Do you think the results would be?
[31:27] Speaker 1: If Kyler Murray were the quarterback of the Denver Broncos,
[31:31] Speaker 1: how much different would the results be?
[31:34] Speaker 3: I think if Kyler Murray were the quarterback of the
[31:35] Speaker 3: Philadelphia Eagles, we'd have a happy A.J.
[31:37] Speaker 7: Brown.
[31:39] Speaker 1: Brother, I think that you and I have been working
[31:41] Speaker 1: together a little too long because I was about.
[31:44] Speaker 3: To say the exact.
[31:45] Speaker 5: Oh, no, no, no.
[31:46] Speaker 1: I love the fact that you had and I was
[31:48] Speaker 1: going to say the exact same thing.
[31:51] Speaker 2: I bet you A.J.
[31:51] Speaker 1: Brown wishes Kyler was the quarterback of the Eagles. Yeah,
[31:56] Speaker 1: I bet he badly wishes that that was the case of.
[32:05] Speaker 2: Ooh, what do we do with C.J. Stroud? C.J.
[32:08] Speaker 3: Stroud's a hard one.
[32:08] Speaker 1: The Kyler Murray game is fun. Now that we're here
[32:12] Speaker 1: playing it, this is a good time.
[32:14] Speaker 3: Do you think they'd have a similar situation? Do you
[32:17] Speaker 3: think they'd be just as good if you flip-flopped Dak
[32:20] Speaker 3: Prescott and Kyler Murray?
[32:22] Speaker 1: No, I think Dak Prescott is better than him. I
[32:25] Speaker 1: think that, I think, yes, I think that Dak Prescott
[32:29] Speaker 1: is better than Kyler Murray.
[32:32] Speaker 3: I do too. I think that is like my exact... Like,
[32:36] Speaker 3: once you get past, like, 12.
[32:40] Speaker 2: Anything's possible.
[32:40] Speaker 3: Anything's possible.
[32:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is, if he's available, I think the
[32:48] Speaker 1: league is going to jump on. I think all we've
[32:50] Speaker 1: been talking is about to whittle away and go away.
[32:55] Speaker 1: Because if you're telling me that if I don't get
[32:58] Speaker 1: Kyler Murray, I got to go get Tua or 35-year-old Gino,
[33:00] Speaker 1: if he's 35.
[33:06] Speaker 3: Or the corpse of Aaron Rodgers.
[33:08] Speaker 1: Or $ 30 million a year to Malik Willis. And by
[33:10] Speaker 1: the way, somebody's going to do it and I think
[33:12] Speaker 1: there's a good chance it.
[33:13] Speaker 2: Could work out. We are far removed from watching Malik
[33:18] Speaker 2: Willis be abject.
[33:20] Speaker 3: For sure.
[33:21] Speaker 2: We are way past that.
[33:25] Speaker 1: I just don't... I wouldn't... I would not want it
[33:29] Speaker 1: to be my $ 30 million.
[33:33] Speaker 2: But I would be happy for it when he receives it.

[36:20] Speaker 3: We got you.
[36:22] Speaker 4: Now, if you haven't heard.
[36:25] Speaker 3: All right, if you haven't heard, there's a war. The U.S.
[36:32] Speaker 3: has bombed Iran, and people started betting on it. On
[36:35] Speaker 3: a pot market, at least $ 200 million was staked on
[36:38] Speaker 3: four wagers relating to the U.S. stakes in Iran. Kalshi
[36:42] Speaker 3: had to put out this tweet. The odds that the
[36:45] Speaker 3: Ayatollah is out of the Supreme Leader has surged to 68%. Reminder,
[36:50] Speaker 3: Kalshi does not offer markets that settle on death. Beau,
[36:54] Speaker 3: what was your reaction to this?
[36:55] Speaker 1: Hey, man, there is somebody who works there that's like,
[36:58] Speaker 1: I can't keep doing this.
[37:00] Speaker 2: Right.
[37:01] Speaker 1: Imagine you being the person at the meeting where they're
[37:05] Speaker 1: talking about all of these things that are happening.
[37:08] Speaker 3: Or you have to raise your hand. So what's our
[37:12] Speaker 3: rule if he dies?
[37:13] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[37:14] Speaker 1: So how exactly? I can't believe this is life, right?
[37:18] Speaker 1: Like this sounds like parody or satire.
[37:21] Speaker 3: Right, right.
[37:23] Speaker 2: I will say this.
[37:24] Speaker 1: I don't feel like getting into the real nitty gritty
[37:28] Speaker 1: of the war. And I guess if there's an even
[37:32] Speaker 1: countless war, I don't know what all was. I don't
[37:35] Speaker 1: I don't know where to go.
[37:35] Speaker 3: OK, I mean, I think people in Congress are going
[37:37] Speaker 3: to be debating this next week.
[37:39] Speaker 1: So I'm going to make two points or just two
[37:41] Speaker 1: observations that I have that we could all deal with
[37:43] Speaker 1: right now. Number one, I remember the first I told
[37:47] Speaker 1: first I told her, for those of you who are
[37:49] Speaker 1: too young, was a really big deal.
[37:51] Speaker 2: Like whenever it was that.
[37:53] Speaker 1: It was time, like back in the day, we talked
[37:56] Speaker 1: about dictators a lot more.
[37:58] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? But he was a tier
[38:01] Speaker 2: one bad person. We talked about him all the time.
[38:04] Speaker 2: And then he died.
[38:06] Speaker 1: And I don't know why, but the next Ayatollah, we
[38:09] Speaker 1: don't really, we never really bring him up very much.
[38:12] Speaker 1: In spite of the fact that apparently he's so evil
[38:15] Speaker 1: that you got to smoke his ass and all his
[38:16] Speaker 1: partners right where they stand.
[38:19] Speaker 3: Are you saying we used to be a proper country
[38:21] Speaker 3: because we knew who our dictators were?
[38:23] Speaker 1: No, I'm trying to figure out how it is that
[38:25] Speaker 1: this Ayatollah never caught on.
[38:28] Speaker 3: It's like the new Kim Jong doesn't really catch on
[38:30] Speaker 3: like that.
[38:30] Speaker 1: Yeah, no, but that's what I'm saying. We've known all
[38:32] Speaker 1: the Kims, right? As that has gone on. But with
[38:35] Speaker 1: this right here, I'm just very surprised that we... it's
[38:40] Speaker 1: been the same one for 37 years and people don't
[38:45] Speaker 1: know his name or nothing like that.
[38:47] Speaker 3: I didn't even try to pronounce it.
[38:49] Speaker 1: Yeah, it had just been Iran. We never got to
[38:53] Speaker 1: the particulars of it. I just personally don't understand how
[38:57] Speaker 1: that happened or why. Number two, I cannot imagine That
[39:06] Speaker 1: I finally, if you were the type of person who
[39:08] Speaker 1: would want to do this, and I'm not. You finally
[39:11] Speaker 1: stacked up your bread. You got on that plane. And
[39:15] Speaker 1: you took your vacation to Dubai. And your hotel is
[39:19] Speaker 1: getting bombed.
[39:21] Speaker 3: Private flights are going for six figures out of there.
[39:27] Speaker 1: $ 325, 000.
[39:27] Speaker 2: It's one thing to go somewhere and get its hurricanes.
[39:30] Speaker 1: Right?
[39:30] Speaker 2: Like, oh, damn. They are bombing Dubai, the airport. They're like, nah, man. Y'all, y'all,
[39:38] Speaker 2: you can't be serious right now. No, but they are.
[39:41] Speaker 2: This is what happened.
[39:42] Speaker 1: I can't think of anything where one thing happened and
[39:45] Speaker 1: then the other team was like, all right, everybody getting it.
[39:52] Speaker 2: Anybody that's staying with you that's close to us, they
[39:54] Speaker 2: ain't going to get it. And this has only been
[39:57] Speaker 2: a couple of days. It has only been... That was
[40:02] Speaker 2: the other part.
[40:03] Speaker 1: Trump was like, hey, man, here's what we're going to do.
[40:06] Speaker 1: We're going to bomb them and then y'all can go
[40:11] Speaker 1: take over your country. Which, on paper, may not sound
[40:17] Speaker 1: like the worst idea. In application, the probability of chaos
[40:24] Speaker 1: is very, very high.
[40:26] Speaker 3: If we've learned anything for the last 60 years, it's
[40:28] Speaker 3: a little bit harder on paper than it is in
[40:30] Speaker 3: real life than it is on paper.
[40:32] Speaker 2: Particularly there.
[40:34] Speaker 3: Yes.
[40:35] Speaker 8: And that's 70 years almost, but yes, particularly there.
[40:38] Speaker 2: Have you seen Argo?
[40:39] Speaker 3: Yes.
[40:41] Speaker 1: Argo made me rethink something. By the way, I watched
[40:43] Speaker 1: Argo on a plane. And that was a shockingly emotional experience.
[40:48] Speaker 1: Altitude does that, right? But when they was trying to
[40:51] Speaker 1: get through the airport at the end, I've never been
[40:53] Speaker 1: more on edge in my life. But that scene made
[40:56] Speaker 1: me think about something that nobody talks about when it
[40:58] Speaker 1: comes to overthrowing the government. Everybody want to overthrow the
[41:02] Speaker 1: government so they can do all the top line stuff.
[41:06] Speaker 1: But once you overthrow the government, you are also responsible
[41:09] Speaker 1: for the government.
[41:11] Speaker 2: And so in Argo.
[41:12] Speaker 3: The bureaucracy of the government.
[41:13] Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
[41:14] Speaker 1: So in Argo, it was watching who the dudes were
[41:17] Speaker 1: that are looking at passports. They're just dudes in camouflage
[41:20] Speaker 1: with guns. They didn't get into this to be looking
[41:23] Speaker 1: at your fucking passport.
[41:24] Speaker 2: Nobody wants to do that. Right? And so they're like, hey,
[41:28] Speaker 2: we're going to overthrow the government. Okay, then you overthrow
[41:30] Speaker 2: the government. Somebody's got to run it. And it's like,
[41:33] Speaker 2: who's going to work the airport? What do you mean?
[41:35] Speaker 2: I don't want to work the airport.
[41:36] Speaker 1: Like, there's not one person associated with that revolution that's like, yo,
[41:39] Speaker 1: once I get this.
[41:40] Speaker 3: I want to be TSA.
[41:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, school lunches? I'll be in charge of that.
[41:45] Speaker 3: No!
[41:47] Speaker 2: No!
[41:48] Speaker 1: So we did this for you. Now you can overthrow
[41:50] Speaker 1: the government. There's a whole lot of cats that was like, hey, man,
[41:52] Speaker 1: we ain't like him, but we wasn't trying to do
[41:55] Speaker 1: his job.
[41:56] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
[41:57] Speaker 1: There's a reason why we didn't do this ourselves. And
[42:00] Speaker 1: this is an awful man, just to be clear.
[42:02] Speaker 3: Yeah, not a fan.
[42:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
[42:03] Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, we killed your leader so that
[42:08] Speaker 1: you could take over.
[42:10] Speaker 2: I mean, thanks?
[42:14] Speaker 3: All right, speaking of headlines that don't sound real, the
[42:18] Speaker 3: Atlanta Hawks will host a Magic City Monday. Women Pepper
[42:22] Speaker 3: Wings will be on the menu. TI is going to perform.
[42:25] Speaker 3: This will happen in the next few weeks. Of course,
[42:27] Speaker 3: Magic City, famous Atlanta strip club. Bo, what was your
[42:31] Speaker 3: reaction when you heard this news?
[42:33] Speaker 2: Okay, so.
[42:37] Speaker 1: Number one, Maybe I'm just becoming a bit more prudish
[42:41] Speaker 1: in my old age. But we don't need to mainstream
[42:45] Speaker 1: the strip club that far.
[42:47] Speaker 2: We know where it's at. You know what I'm saying? Like,
[42:50] Speaker 2: we don't need to. I don't know.
[42:52] Speaker 1: But number two, I heard you say that they was
[42:58] Speaker 1: going to have wings. I heard you say that T.I.
[43:04] Speaker 1: was going to perform.
[43:06] Speaker 2: You know what I didn't hear you say? Anything about dancers.
[43:15] Speaker 1: Everything I've heard about Magic City night at State Farm
[43:20] Speaker 1: Arena has sounded like the city, but I ain't heard
[43:23] Speaker 1: shit about no magic. The wings ain't that good. I
[43:31] Speaker 1: go to Magic City just for the wings. Lying ass.
[43:34] Speaker 1: If you do, you're doing it really wrong.
[43:37] Speaker 2: Okay?
[43:38] Speaker 1: But if it's Magic City night and all it is
[43:41] Speaker 1: is wings and T.I., I would stay at home. Or
[43:49] Speaker 1: maybe I'd go to Magic City where they will have
[43:52] Speaker 1: wings and they won't have T.I., but they'll have something
[43:56] Speaker 1: I'd like a lot more in 2026.
[44:00] Speaker 3: All right. And finally, Fox Sports debuted a new feature
[44:04] Speaker 3: on its app where there is an AI Colin Cowherd.
[44:07] Speaker 3: You can, you know, ask him anything, get his opinions,
[44:09] Speaker 3: get his takes. I asked AI Colin Cowherd, should Bomani
[44:13] Speaker 3: Jones get his own AI app? This is what it said.
[44:17] Speaker 3: Bomani Jones deserves his own AI app because he's a
[44:20] Speaker 3: trailblazer in sports media, consistently pushing boundaries with his unfiltered
[44:24] Speaker 3: opinions and sharp analysis. His commentary on athletes like Deion
[44:28] Speaker 3: Sanders is and controversies surrounding Serena Williams has shown he's
[44:31] Speaker 3: not afraid to tackle tough topics. Jones has also been
[44:34] Speaker 3: vocal about the state of sports media, criticizing the quote
[44:37] Speaker 3: stick to sports crowd and highlighting the influence of athletes
[44:40] Speaker 3: and media. Jones has expressed frustration with sports media personalities,
[44:44] Speaker 3: including AI generated takes to boost engagement, calling them quote
[44:48] Speaker 3: fucking dorks. He believes that relying on AI undermines the
[44:51] Speaker 3: value of original thought and authenticity in sports commentary. This
[44:55] Speaker 3: stance demands, demonstrates his commitment to maintaining high standards in
[44:58] Speaker 3: sports media. Creating an AI app inspired by Jones could
[45:02] Speaker 3: revolutionize how his fans consume sports analysis. It would offer
[45:06] Speaker 3: a unique blend of his insightful commentary and sharp wit,
[45:10] Speaker 3: potentially changing the sports media landscape. Bo, does this sound
[45:13] Speaker 3: like you?
[45:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, it would revolutionize how my fans get their sports
[45:21] Speaker 1: content by cutting me out! Hey, man, that Colin, that's
[45:28] Speaker 1: a shrewd man. That's a man, his paper is right.
[45:32] Speaker 2: I can't believe he agreed to this.
[45:33] Speaker 1: Hey, hey, hey, why don't you make it a little
[45:36] Speaker 1: easier to replace me next go round?
[45:37] Speaker 2: Hell no, I ain't, no. This is fucking ridiculous. I
[45:40] Speaker 2: couldn't believe, I can't.
[45:42] Speaker 1: Believe, no, not in any way whatsoever do I want any,
[45:46] Speaker 1: any parts of this. And as we have talked about before,
[45:50] Speaker 1: when it comes to AI versions of me, Remember when
[45:54] Speaker 1: we did that that one day, Ryan?
[45:56] Speaker 3: I do remember that one day.
[45:57] Speaker 2: It was really racist, guys.
[46:01] Speaker 1: Like, not offensively racist, but it wasn't, like, flattering racist.
[46:08] Speaker 2: I don't know if.
[46:10] Speaker 1: Okay, there is a sort of flattering racist, but I
[46:13] Speaker 1: don't want to talk about that right now with my
[46:15] Speaker 1: mama there.
[46:21] Speaker 3: All right, Bo, got some voicemails, a lot of good ones.
[46:24] Speaker 3: Here's the first. How you doing, Bo?
[46:28] Speaker 7: This is Jay from Boston, and I have a question
[46:31] Speaker 7: for you about the NBA. Pat Riley, at his recent
[46:35] Speaker 7: Hall of Fame speech, made it clear that he wanted
[46:40] Speaker 7: NBA coaches on the sidelines to go back to wearing suits.
[46:45] Speaker 7: while I grew up in the era where Iverson was
[46:48] Speaker 7: obviously demonized for the way he dressed and David Stern
[46:52] Speaker 7: enacted a much tougher dress code that sort of morphed
[46:56] Speaker 7: into the sideline turned into runway that we kind of
[47:01] Speaker 7: have going on now. I appreciate the freedom of coaches
[47:08] Speaker 7: wearing what they want, but as a longtime fan, I
[47:11] Speaker 7: can't deny that suits on the sideline bring an air of,
[47:17] Speaker 7: I don't know, seriousness or gravity that, you know, on
[47:20] Speaker 7: many levels, we all know the game, especially in the
[47:23] Speaker 7: regular season, is lacking. Doc Rivers had come up with
[47:27] Speaker 7: a bit of a compromise when asked about it by
[47:29] Speaker 7: The Athletic, and he said that maybe coaches should, you know,
[47:33] Speaker 7: wear what they want to wear during the regular season,
[47:35] Speaker 7: but ship the suits for the playoffs to show, you know,
[47:39] Speaker 7: the seriousness of you know, playoff series. I think that's also,
[47:43] Speaker 7: you know, potentially a decent compromise, but I did want
[47:46] Speaker 7: to hear your thoughts about coaches going back to wearing
[47:50] Speaker 7: suits on the sidelines. Long time fan of the show.
[47:54] Speaker 4: Love what you're doing.
[47:55] Speaker 3: Have a great day.
[47:59] Speaker 2: I am 100% in agreement with Pat Riley on this
[48:02] Speaker 2: because it's part of the show.
[48:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good for the TV show.
[48:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's also, look, let's stop acting like we don't
[48:10] Speaker 1: understand how things work, right? The suit, it is a
[48:14] Speaker 1: signal of seriousness, right? Like, you're the guy in the suit.
[48:18] Speaker 1: Why should anybody listen to you? You out here wearing
[48:21] Speaker 1: a pullover.
[48:23] Speaker 2: I have to say.
[48:25] Speaker 3: This is a little bit of a, you know, Pat Rodgers, who...
[48:29] Speaker 3: clearly looks better than most people in a suit.
[48:31] Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah but he's like yeah yeah everyone but.
[48:33] Speaker 1: These cats ain't talking this because they don't look good
[48:35] Speaker 1: in suits they talking this because they lazy and they
[48:38] Speaker 1: just want to throw the pullover all no man it's
[48:41] Speaker 1: a part of the show now it i think the
[48:44] Speaker 1: suit thing was actually better when the coaches were a
[48:46] Speaker 1: little worse dressed right like i'll never forget this is
[48:49] Speaker 1: i don't know doug moe died recently right he rest
[48:52] Speaker 1: in peace i'll be you you'd have no reason to
[48:53] Speaker 1: remember when doug moe was the coach of the Nuggets.
[48:56] Speaker 1: But I remember when Dan Issel became the coach of
[48:58] Speaker 1: the Nuggets, he played for Mo with the Nuggets and
[49:00] Speaker 1: he went to college at Kentucky and played under Adolph Rupp.
[49:04] Speaker 2: And just to give you an idea of what kind.
[49:05] Speaker 1: Of man Doug Mo was, Issel said in his first game,
[49:09] Speaker 1: as a tribute to Adolph Rupp, I'm going to wear
[49:11] Speaker 1: a brown suit.
[49:12] Speaker 2: As a tribute to Doug Moe, I'm going to wear
[49:14] Speaker 2: black shoes.
[49:16] Speaker 1: Because Doug Moe's shit was always super sloppy all over
[49:19] Speaker 1: the place. But there's something to be said for being
[49:21] Speaker 1: the coach that can't get it right. I don't know.
[49:26] Speaker 1: Everybody looks the same and The significance of coaching has
[49:32] Speaker 1: dwindled in so many ways, right? Like the idea that
[49:36] Speaker 1: the coach matters in basketball has fallen off. In baseball,
[49:40] Speaker 1: it's the same way, right? And I don't think that's
[49:43] Speaker 1: good for the product, actually. I think that they are
[49:46] Speaker 1: part of the show. They are part of the tapestry,
[49:48] Speaker 1: the mosaic, and all of these things.
[49:51] Speaker 2: And dressing like.
[49:54] Speaker 1: This game matters or like you're an important person in this,
[49:58] Speaker 1: I think.
[49:59] Speaker 2: I think those things matter, right? I think those things
[50:02] Speaker 2: go somewhere.
[50:04] Speaker 1: And it was a thing that came around during the pandemic,
[50:12] Speaker 1: and it made sense during the pandemic, okay?
[50:16] Speaker 2: But y'all don't work from home. So, like, come on, man.
[50:22] Speaker 1: Of course, I show up here with wrinkled sweatshirts on
[50:24] Speaker 1: every week, but that's a part of this show.
[50:27] Speaker 2: That show is different.
[50:28] Speaker 3: All right, here's our next one.
[50:30] Speaker 6: Well, what up, Bo? This Shaq from OP. And, bro,
[50:35] Speaker 6: I've been listening to you for a long time, over
[50:37] Speaker 6: 10 years. I appreciate everything that you, you know, say
[50:42] Speaker 6: and do and everything. And from a lot of listeners,
[50:46] Speaker 6: they probably don't.
[50:47] Speaker 3: Know what OP stands for.
[50:48] Speaker 7: I'm from Opelousas.
[50:51] Speaker 6: And I know you and Ryan, well, your pops is
[50:55] Speaker 6: from Odell, Ryan from Lafayette. And I think we all...
[51:00] Speaker 6: got to a point in our lives when we were,
[51:03] Speaker 6: we are, can't go back all-stars, all of us. My
[51:14] Speaker 6: question for you, Bo, is who are the new age.
[51:20] Speaker 3: Can't go back all-stars? Because we got the old school.
[51:22] Speaker 6: Can't go backs. Now who are these youngsters now for
[51:27] Speaker 6: the can't go backs? All right, Bo, appreciate you.
[51:30] Speaker 5: Later.
[51:30] Speaker 2: All right, you know, we ain't got as many as
[51:33] Speaker 2: we used to, Ryan. This is becoming, but all right.
[51:35] Speaker 2: Anthony Edwards, we absolutely know.
[51:38] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[51:39] Speaker 2: He is on that list. As I recall, Jonathan.
[51:42] Speaker 1: Kaminga moved himself from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
[51:50] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[51:52] Speaker 3: I did not know this.
[51:53] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[51:54] Speaker 2: He ain't going back. I tell you that right now.
[51:57] Speaker 8: Who else?
[51:57] Speaker 3: Does Giannis count? Yes.
[52:01] Speaker 2: The man who didn't, who wasn't even a citizen.
[52:04] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[52:05] Speaker 2: They wouldn't even give him a passport. Yeah, I would.
[52:09] Speaker 1: The man who, by the way, they say still like
[52:11] Speaker 1: come pick up leftover food.
[52:12] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[52:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
[52:14] Speaker 2: And put it like this. He believes that he can't
[52:17] Speaker 2: go back.
[52:19] Speaker 8: All that matters that yeah yeah that that that certainly
[52:23] Speaker 8: would uh will put him on the list i tell
[52:25] Speaker 8: you this i looked at bones highland he was about
[52:27] Speaker 8: to punch valachunas in the face on saturday he looked
[52:31] Speaker 8: like he in that boat.
[52:34] Speaker 3: For sure all right here's our.
[52:35] Speaker 4: Next one hey what's up boat this is uh john
[52:39] Speaker 4: collin from charlotte and uh i just got a question
[52:42] Speaker 4: man um Where did we lose with R & B? Like,
[52:47] Speaker 4: why is R & B popping like it used to?
[52:49] Speaker 4: And I'm asking because I recently bought my pops vinyl records,
[52:52] Speaker 4: and I know he's a big Josie fan. I've been
[52:54] Speaker 4: jamming it out to him. Man, they got some good stuff.
[52:56] Speaker 4: I just want to know, like, where did we lose
[52:58] Speaker 4: the recipe when it came to R & B? I
[53:00] Speaker 4: appreciate it.
[53:00] Speaker 1: You know, I don't even– the thing that's gotten me
[53:05] Speaker 1: is that if you're a certain age, and I feel
[53:08] Speaker 1: like if you were asking that question, you're probably of
[53:09] Speaker 1: this age, You don't know anything about contemporary R &
[53:13] Speaker 1: B that doesn't sound like rap or doesn't come with
[53:16] Speaker 1: a rap verse or have the imaging of such.
[53:20] Speaker 2: And it really was just one of those things where
[53:22] Speaker 2: you just looked up and it happened. You know, like
[53:24] Speaker 2: you go.
[53:25] Speaker 1: See, the problem is, stuff that don't seem like that
[53:27] Speaker 1: long ago is, but I'm like, man, if you think
[53:29] Speaker 1: about 06, okay, that was 20 years ago.
[53:31] Speaker 3: 20 years ago.
[53:32] Speaker 1: Right, but like, if you go to that point, you know,
[53:35] Speaker 1: or the end of the aughts, I mean, there's still
[53:38] Speaker 1: R & B out there, like, you know, played on
[53:41] Speaker 1: the same stages with the rap, played alongside of it
[53:43] Speaker 1: that is clearly not rap, right?
[53:45] Speaker 2: It does not necessarily have that influence.
[53:47] Speaker 1: You just looked up one day and it was out
[53:49] Speaker 1: of here, but what's wild about it is, the people
[53:51] Speaker 1: that sell a zillion, not all, like, all of them, obviously,
[53:54] Speaker 1: but like, Adele is singing a form of R &
[53:57] Speaker 1: B music and she still makes zillions of dollars doing that.
[54:00] Speaker 2: Bruno Mars was making zillions of dollars doing that. Anderson.
[54:04] Speaker 2: Paak' s my.
[54:05] Speaker 1: Favorite and he has his own lane along there, but
[54:08] Speaker 1: it's out there and the people who do it are
[54:11] Speaker 1: hugely successful. So sometimes I feel like it's a misplaced question,
[54:15] Speaker 1: but I know exactly why you were asking the question
[54:18] Speaker 1: and I don't ever have a great answer. for how
[54:20] Speaker 1: it is that it, you know, got to that place. But,
[54:25] Speaker 1: you know, like I do wonder this, right? Like at
[54:26] Speaker 1: talent shows, the kids get up and sing at talent
[54:29] Speaker 1: shows anymore because singing don't seem to be like what.
[54:33] Speaker 2: The game is.
[54:35] Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder if we're just almost too cynical.
[54:38] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[54:39] Speaker 3: Not sincere enough for that sort of music.
[54:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think the problem for me.
[54:43] Speaker 3: I think the counter to that is, again, Adele makes
[54:45] Speaker 3: zillions of dollars. Yeah, yeah.
[54:46] Speaker 1: But the problem for me is I don't listen to
[54:48] Speaker 1: radio because I'm never in a car.
[54:50] Speaker 3: Same.
[54:50] Speaker 1: So I don't... I can't say with any accuracy myself
[54:54] Speaker 1: how these things are curated to say that there is
[54:57] Speaker 1: no more blank. Because every now and then somebody will
[54:59] Speaker 1: hit me up with somebody that, like, it'll feel to
[55:02] Speaker 1: me more like music for somebody my age than for
[55:06] Speaker 1: somebody young.
[55:07] Speaker 3: You know?
[55:08] Speaker 1: So I don't... Damn, I'm so old. I don't even
[55:12] Speaker 1: know if I can– I'm not even allowed to talk
[55:14] Speaker 1: about this no more.
[55:15] Speaker 2: Ain't that something?
[55:16] Speaker 3: All right, here's our last one.
[55:19] Speaker 5: Hey, Bo and Ryan, this is Matt from New Orleans.
[55:22] Speaker 5: I knew a white man who I knew as Dan
[55:25] Speaker 5: for eight years, and I got his wedding invitation, and
[55:28] Speaker 5: it turns out his name was Denarius.
[55:32] Speaker 3: Keep up the good work. I think that's the same
[55:35] Speaker 3: face Matt made as well.
[55:38] Speaker 1: He hung up that phone like Larry Bird in the
[55:41] Speaker 1: three-point contest.
[55:42] Speaker 2: Dragonfly Joe said that once on Twitter about somebody.
[55:45] Speaker 1: Oh, I think he said when that dude hit Roland
[55:47] Speaker 1: Martin with both of these nuts back in the day.
[55:49] Speaker 1: That is my image forever when somebody knows it's going in, right?
[55:53] Speaker 2: He dropped that one.
[55:54] Speaker 1: He was like, he knew when he hung up that
[55:56] Speaker 1: he was going to be on the show.
[55:58] Speaker 3: For sure.
[55:58] Speaker 2: He has stuck around the whole time to get to
[56:02] Speaker 2: this point.
