[0:05] Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome to the right time.
[0:06] Speaker 2: We got Dominique Foxworth on right after this. After we
[0:09] Speaker 2: had taped, we got the news that Jalen Hurts is
[0:12] Speaker 2: going to be out this week playing against the Panthers.
[0:16] Speaker 2: That's who they're playing against. We thought they was going
[0:18] Speaker 2: to lose anyway, but he has, Ryan, it's called a
[0:21] Speaker 2: superficial blood clot.
[0:22] Speaker 3: Superficial blood clot in his calf. All right.
[0:25] Speaker 1: I don't really know what that means. I just know, man,
[0:27] Speaker 1: they are cooked, Jack.
[0:29] Speaker 3: They're cooked. Potentially no Jalen Hurts. No Jalen Hurts. Jalen
[0:33] Speaker 3: Hurts is out. Potentially no Devonta Smith and Saquon Barkley
[0:35] Speaker 3: this week.
[0:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, and Landon Dickerson. Is he back?
[0:38] Speaker 2: I mean, I know he said something about how they
[0:40] Speaker 2: need to go talk to Howie and Nick about his contract.
[0:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, Lane Johnson on the roster, even though he said
[0:46] Speaker 3: he retired.
[0:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, we got that situation.
[0:49] Speaker 2: Hey, man, along with everybody else being hurt in some
[0:53] Speaker 2: form or fashion with that team. So how funny would
[0:56] Speaker 2: it be if the Eagles won? Like we're saying they're cooked.
[0:59] Speaker 2: Can you imagine how much it would suck to be
[1:00] Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts? Who is that they bring it out? Is
[1:02] Speaker 2: that Tanner McKee?
[1:03] Speaker 3: It is Tanner McKee.
[1:04] Speaker 2: Wow.
[1:05] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:06] Speaker 2: The name Tanner McKee sounds like 13 for 29 for
[1:11] Speaker 2: 111 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. There's a
[1:15] Speaker 2: classic backup quarterback line. That's what he's got there. They're
[1:18] Speaker 2: having a rough year, man.
[1:22] Speaker 1: I think that's all we got. That's it.
[1:24] Speaker 3: Damn.
[1:25] Speaker 1: Just wanted to make sure you guys knew that we
[1:26] Speaker 1: knew that Jalen Hurts was....
[1:30] Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time presented by PrizePix.
[1:34] Speaker 2: My name is Beaumontie Jones. Thanks for listening wherever you
[1:37] Speaker 2: get your podcasts. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
[1:41] Speaker 2: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
[1:43] Speaker 2: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
[1:45] Speaker 2: a hater. It is Fox Word Friday somewhere. Dominique Fosworth,
[1:51] Speaker 2: what's going on?
[1:52] Speaker 1: What's up, brother?
[1:53] Speaker 2: Yo, shout out to whoever, I forget who it was
[1:55] Speaker 2: that cooked that one up, but that was a winner.
[1:57] Speaker 1: It's Fosworth Friday somewhere. We get to retain the alliteration
[2:01] Speaker 1: while also being a little clever and cheeky. You know
[2:04] Speaker 1: what I'm saying?
[2:05] Speaker 4: Where is it Friday, though?
[2:07] Speaker 2: That is a great question that I will now ask
[2:11] Speaker 2: the computer.
[2:12] Speaker 1: Where is it Friday?
[2:13] Speaker 4: Because somebody, there is a country somewhere that is still
[2:17] Speaker 4: experiencing this, and it's.
[2:18] Speaker 1: Like, why is he saying it's not Friday?
[2:20] Speaker 2: I will say this, that if I'm not mistaken, at
[2:22] Speaker 2: this moment, it's like 11.30 p.m. in Vietnam, but it
[2:26] Speaker 2: says that right now it is Friday in.
[2:32] Speaker 2: The eastern part of Australia, New Zealand, some of Russia,
[2:37] Speaker 2: and some of them little islands like Fiji.
[2:41] Speaker 1: And when you release this, it'll be Friday more places.
[2:44] Speaker 1: That's right. It'll be Friday more. I think we need
[2:46] Speaker 1: to recommit. Right.
[2:48] Speaker 2: It's Foxworth Friday in Asia. That's what it is. We
[2:53] Speaker 2: got y'all out. Thank you for saving our country. You
[2:56] Speaker 2: know what I'm saying? All you boys over there in Okinawa,
[3:01] Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying? Over there in Korea, making
[3:04] Speaker 2: sure that nobody step too far over the line.
[3:08] Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying? Yeah, they holding down that DMZ.
[3:11] Speaker 2: Hold it down.
[3:11] Speaker 1: That's right. That's right. Shout out.
[3:13] Speaker 2: No, I was going to say shout out to somebody
[3:15] Speaker 2: that it don't even really apply to.
[3:18] Speaker 4: Yeah, we got to educate ourselves a little more on
[3:21] Speaker 4: all of that.
[3:21] Speaker 1: I got to be a little closer. Shout out to me,
[3:23] Speaker 1: the cops.
[3:25] Speaker 4: There we go.
[3:25] Speaker 1: There we go. There we go. I was about to
[3:28] Speaker 1: say they all be on soccer, but I'm like, nope, nope, nope, nope.
[3:31] Speaker 1: They met in school. And they met in school. Like,
[3:33] Speaker 1: Japanese could have worked. We'd be over there, too.
[3:36] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[3:36] Speaker 1: You know?
[3:36] Speaker 2: I mean, after we told them y'all can't have no army,
[3:39] Speaker 2: the least you could do is let them borrow yours.
[3:42] Speaker 4: I mean, I guess when you drop an atomic bomb
[3:45] Speaker 4: on somebody, they got to agree to whatever. Hold on.
[3:47] Speaker 5: Hold on.
[3:48] Speaker 1: Dominique.
[3:50] Speaker 4: Two of them.
[3:51] Speaker 1: Two Atomic Bombs.
[3:52] Speaker 2: Yes.
[3:52] Speaker 1: I apologize.
[3:54] Speaker 2: Fuck.
[3:55] Speaker 1: That shit's crazy. That really is crazy to look back on.
[3:59] Speaker 1: They were like, whoa, that was crazy. Get the big one. That.
[4:06] Speaker 4: Who.
[4:09] Speaker 1: We got football coming up.
[4:11] Speaker 4: We do.
[4:11] Speaker 1: We do. And we're going to talk about the upcoming football.
[4:14] Speaker 2: But it's a couple of football things that have happened
[4:16] Speaker 2: this week that I want to talk about. And the
[4:19] Speaker 2: first one is one that I haven't seen that many
[4:22] Speaker 2: people talk about on television this week.
[4:25] Speaker 1: And it's kind of a big one.
[4:26] Speaker 2: And it is these documents that got leaked from the
[4:29] Speaker 2: Brian Flores lawsuit. Now.
[4:33] Speaker 1: You and I have talked about this. I say it
[4:34] Speaker 1: on here.
[4:35] Speaker 2: I don't want to say it's complicated for me in
[4:38] Speaker 2: real life, but there is like a bottom line for me,
[4:41] Speaker 2: which is I don't care what they come up with.
[4:44] Speaker 1: I would not hire Brian Flores under any circumstance. However,
[4:47] Speaker 1: somebody would.
[4:48] Speaker 2: One would think in theory he's really, really good at
[4:51] Speaker 2: being the head coach of the defense right now. They
[4:53] Speaker 2: won more games in Miami than anybody would have expected, right?
[4:58] Speaker 2: It's reasonable that somebody, even if he is a big
[5:01] Speaker 2: old jerk, pop up with the allegations of the schism.
[5:04] Speaker 2: And then we got some schism paperwork. And this is
[5:06] Speaker 2: the part that jumped out of this memo.
[5:08] Speaker 1: And it was from a search firm.
[5:10] Speaker 2: The search firm was working for the Raiders as they
[5:13] Speaker 2: were evaluating Flores. Obviously, the Raiders did not hire him
[5:16] Speaker 2: to be their head coach. And this is what it says.
[5:19] Speaker 2: Polished and a good presenter. despite growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, parentheses,
[5:28] Speaker 2: same as Mike Tyson. He was able to build a
[5:31] Speaker 2: strong friendship with a billionaire son, which gave him opportunities
[5:35] Speaker 2: to socialize and learn how to build relationships with white-collar
[5:39] Speaker 2: and upper-class individuals. Okay, I have a couple of points
[5:43] Speaker 2: to make on that part. Number one, it is amazing
[5:48] Speaker 2: how phrasing And people trusting you can allow you to
[5:51] Speaker 2: say certain things. Because one of the things that I
[5:53] Speaker 2: absolutely pointed out about Flores when this lawsuit came down,
[5:56] Speaker 2: and this is something you don't really catch until you
[5:58] Speaker 2: live here for a while, which is these boys wind
[6:01] Speaker 2: up going to these private schools. And you never know
[6:03] Speaker 2: what friends they have. You never know what game they
[6:06] Speaker 2: managed to pick up. They know somebody like Brian Flores,
[6:09] Speaker 2: who I think went to poly prep. He knows some people,
[6:13] Speaker 2: and he figured out some things, right? However, this right
[6:16] Speaker 2: here doesn't sound no different than when Danny Ferry said
[6:19] Speaker 2: Luol Deng had a lot of African in him still, right?
[6:22] Speaker 2: Which is to say, these cats was like, hey, hey, hey,
[6:26] Speaker 2: he talk a good game, but don't get it twisted.
[6:29] Speaker 1: He still wanted him.
[6:32] Speaker 2: And that is, why would you write that down? Danny
[6:36] Speaker 2: Ferry didn't even.
[6:37] Speaker 1: Write it down. Somebody was taping him, and he didn't
[6:39] Speaker 1: even know it.
[6:41] Speaker 4: I have... There's so many things that jump out from
[6:43] Speaker 4: this to me. I don't even know where to start,
[6:46] Speaker 4: but obviously... None of this stuff is surprising except for
[6:52] Speaker 4: that they wrote it down. And because like the unique
[6:56] Speaker 4: experience and I know we we have this belief that
[6:59] Speaker 4: anybody can make it to anywhere from in America. And
[7:04] Speaker 4: it's but it's still really rare to jump the socioeconomic
[7:08] Speaker 4: the number of socioeconomic classes.
[7:10] Speaker 1: As I have or have.
[7:12] Speaker 4: Or other like athletes and entertainers and stuff like that.
[7:15] Speaker 4: Like climbing the ladder is not a thing that really happens.
[7:18] Speaker 4: Like you don't, you don't do the Calvin where you,
[7:21] Speaker 4: you first are cooking fries and next thing you know, you,
[7:24] Speaker 4: you own a bunch of franchises.
[7:25] Speaker 1: Like that's not, it happens, but it's not something that
[7:28] Speaker 1: happens regularly. Now I'm washing lettuce. Yeah. I say, was
[7:34] Speaker 1: it Calvin? I think it was Calvin.
[7:36] Speaker 2: Calvin was the McDonald's commercial, but Coming to America, which,
[7:40] Speaker 2: by the way, let you know what happens to the
[7:42] Speaker 2: white dudes, too. I started off on floors just like you.
[7:45] Speaker 2: Now I'm washing lettuce.
[7:49] Speaker 1: I mean, that's a... It happens to white dudes, too,
[7:52] Speaker 1: is a good thing.
[7:53] Speaker 4: Because, like, I... I feel like I have learned so
[7:57] Speaker 4: much about the way things actually work because I believe
[8:02] Speaker 4: I was like naive and the.
[8:04] Speaker 1: Whole hard work, work your way up bootstraps.
[8:07] Speaker 4: Like I wasn't someone who would preach that, but I
[8:09] Speaker 4: was like naive to believe that it was possible because
[8:12] Speaker 4: like my unique experience. And then I got older and
[8:16] Speaker 4: looked around and was like, no matter how hard anybody worked,
[8:20] Speaker 4: they couldn't have done what I did unless they were
[8:23] Speaker 4: bored with some of the things that I had.
[8:25] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[8:25] Speaker 4: And then once I like get out of school or
[8:29] Speaker 4: get out of football and go to business school and
[8:30] Speaker 4: then get out into the professional world, I start to
[8:33] Speaker 4: realize how important relationships are, which prior to that, because
[8:36] Speaker 4: I grew up in football, I'm like the best man.
[8:39] Speaker 1: You just got to be good.
[8:39] Speaker 4: Like, yeah, there's some politics, but if you can run
[8:42] Speaker 4: a full three, they're going to find you and somebody
[8:43] Speaker 4: going to give you a check.
[8:45] Speaker 1: Like, right.
[8:46] Speaker 4: And then you learn about all this other stuff and
[8:48] Speaker 4: then they put it normally.
[8:50] Speaker 1: No one says it explicitly.
[8:51] Speaker 4: But that line is something that a lot of people
[8:54] Speaker 4: live by and think about and care about is like,
[8:57] Speaker 4: all right. Essentially, what they're saying is he wanted them,
[9:01] Speaker 4: but he know how to act right. Yeah. Right.
[9:03] Speaker 1: But I guess.
[9:03] Speaker 2: But actually, is it he's one of them, but he
[9:07] Speaker 2: knows how to act right or he knows how to
[9:09] Speaker 2: act right?
[9:10] Speaker 1: Yeah. But he's one of them.
[9:12] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[9:13] Speaker 1: I took it as the latter.
[9:15] Speaker 6: Right.
[9:15] Speaker 1: But I guess my point is that stuff always exists.
[9:18] Speaker 1: You don't put it in writing.
[9:20] Speaker 4: And, you know, if you understand, because I feel like
[9:23] Speaker 4: I look back on a lot of conversations I had
[9:25] Speaker 4: in my life and people were speaking a different language
[9:27] Speaker 4: than I understood. If you understand a language, someone will
[9:30] Speaker 4: make it clear to you that he wanted him. but
[9:34] Speaker 4: he know how to act or he know how to
[9:36] Speaker 4: act but he wanted them they'll make it clear to
[9:38] Speaker 4: you it's some other terminology that's not.
[9:41] Speaker 6: As explicit as that they're like even despite being from
[9:46] Speaker 6: brownsville and then the wording like are you saying that
[9:49] Speaker 6: mike tyson is from brownsville or mike tyson know how
[9:54] Speaker 6: to act it's a little confusing.
[9:57] Speaker 2: So i will also make a point that they got
[10:00] Speaker 2: one of the people from the Dolphins and this is
[10:01] Speaker 2: where I think it's going to get the Dolphins in
[10:03] Speaker 2: trouble is the dude that was like he's the worst
[10:04] Speaker 2: hire we ever made or one of the worst hires
[10:07] Speaker 2: that we ever made which I don't think you're allowed
[10:09] Speaker 2: to tell people when they call you about a job
[10:11] Speaker 2: like it doesn't matter if it's true you're just supposed
[10:13] Speaker 2: to be like hey man I don't even know what
[10:15] Speaker 2: to tell you big dog you're not supposed to say
[10:18] Speaker 2: that part I will say though it seemed that did
[10:22] Speaker 2: not seem like they were saying that because he was black.
[10:24] Speaker 2: It sounded like they were saying that because they really
[10:26] Speaker 2: didn't like him. Omar Kelly from Miami Herald, he's been
[10:29] Speaker 2: very clear about this on Twitter. He's like, hey, man,
[10:32] Speaker 2: he doesn't know how to talk to people. That seems
[10:36] Speaker 2: to be his issue is he doesn't know how to
[10:38] Speaker 2: talk to people. But I would like to take a
[10:40] Speaker 2: brief moment to say this about Brownsville, Brooklyn. I don't
[10:43] Speaker 2: know if you have ever looked at the notable people
[10:45] Speaker 2: section for Brownsville, Brooklyn, but there are very few things
[10:48] Speaker 2: that are more entertaining to me Then when you go
[10:51] Speaker 2: to the notable peoples of a place that clearly experience
[10:55] Speaker 2: a measure of white flight, like it's like Aliquippa, Pennsylvania,
[10:59] Speaker 2: where Mike Ditka and Pistol Pete were from. But so
[11:01] Speaker 2: was Darrell Rivas and Sean Gilbert, Tony Dorsett, all those guys.
[11:05] Speaker 2: And you can kind of go through and peep the day.
[11:08] Speaker 2: This is listed in alphabetical order. So I am just
[11:11] Speaker 2: going to just rattle off names to you from Brownsville, Brooklyn,
[11:15] Speaker 2: and let you know. A documentary on Brownsville, Brooklyn might
[11:19] Speaker 2: be totally fascinating. For those of you who don't know,
[11:21] Speaker 2: you may hear a lot about gentrification in Brooklyn. Maybe
[11:24] Speaker 2: they got to Brownsville. I find it highly unlikely. That's
[11:30] Speaker 2: where M.O.P. is from, that is where Mike Tyson's from.
[11:32] Speaker 2: You get to East New York, like you get to
[11:34] Speaker 2: the Eddie Up All-Stars out there.
[11:36] Speaker 1: It's way out there. Here are the people that Brownsville,
[11:39] Speaker 1: Brooklyn has produced, going somewhat in alphabetical order, because I
[11:43] Speaker 1: would not have started this list with Master Ace, but
[11:46] Speaker 1: I guess they think that Ace is Master Ace's last name,
[11:49] Speaker 1: so it starts with Master Ace. Master Ace. Born to roll,
[11:54] Speaker 1: Master Ace, just for those who don't know.
[11:56] Speaker 2: Lyle Alzado. Mayor Eric Adams. Riddick Bowe. Shannon Briggs. Andrew
[12:07] Speaker 2: Dice Clay.
[12:09] Speaker 1: We weren't expecting that one, were you? Five-ish Finkel from
[12:13] Speaker 1: the television show Picket Fences. Brian Flores. John Forte, former,
[12:22] Speaker 1: used to rap with the Fugees.
[12:23] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[12:24] Speaker 1: And, you know, did a little time.
[12:25] Speaker 2: But another one of those guys, because if I'm not mistaken,
[12:28] Speaker 2: it was Carly Simon who bailed him out of jail
[12:30] Speaker 2: because he went to prep school with her kids. Told you,
[12:34] Speaker 2: the New York dudes, man, you never know. World Be Free.
[12:38] Speaker 2: Nelson George. Marty Glickman. Arnold Greenberg, the co-founder of Snapple.
[12:46] Speaker 2: Henry Hill. Of Goodfellas fame.
[12:49] Speaker 1: Yeah. Red Holzman. Moe, Curly, and Shemp. But not Larry.
[12:57] Speaker 1: Of the Three Stooges. Zab Judah. Oh, they got a
[13:03] Speaker 1: lot of fighters. Well, that should tell you something. Big
[13:08] Speaker 1: Daddy Kane. This is why they scared Brian Flores.
[13:12] Speaker 2: Big Daddy Kane. Larry King. Meyer Lansky. And yes, we're
[13:19] Speaker 2: only at the L's. M.O.P., O.G.C., Helter Skelter, Willie Randolph,
[13:28] Speaker 2: former second baseman of the Yankees, longtime MLB manager, the RZA,
[13:35] Speaker 2: Al Sharpton, Allie Sherman, Hall of Fame NFL coach, Jimmy
[13:42] Speaker 2: Smits from L.A.
[13:43] Speaker 1: Law at NYPD Blue, Bernadette Stannis. What movie was that?
[13:48] Speaker 1: Pink Cadillac. That's what she was in. A rapper named
[13:52] Speaker 1: Sparky D.
[13:53] Speaker 2: Nice. Mike Tyson. Pearl Washington. Otis Wilson of the 85 Bears.
[14:00] Speaker 2: And last but not least, Howard Zinn.
[14:02] Speaker 1: Note of history. He could have said Brian Flores was
[14:05] Speaker 1: from there. Like, Howard Zinn. They had all these options.
[14:10] Speaker 1: He could have been just like Larry King. That's why
[14:12] Speaker 1: he talks so good. That was the option. Nope. Mike Tyson.
[14:17] Speaker 4: That's bad. Larry is from Philadelphia, by the way, in
[14:21] Speaker 4: case you were wondering.
[14:22] Speaker 6: Oh.
[14:22] Speaker 4: Of the Three Stooges.
[14:23] Speaker 3: Wow.
[14:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
[14:24] Speaker 2: That's right, because they dropped Shemp and picked up Larry.
[14:29] Speaker 2: I wonder if Schimpf was bitter about that.
[14:31] Speaker 4: How could you not be? I can't look up and
[14:36] Speaker 4: see that. How big of stars were they back then?
[14:39] Speaker 1: I mean, the fact that we know about them to
[14:41] Speaker 1: this day.
[14:42] Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. It must have been huge. They
[14:44] Speaker 4: were like Miley Cyrus or bigger than that. I was
[14:47] Speaker 4: thinking about Taylor Swift. That's the name that I meant,
[14:50] Speaker 4: but the other one came out. My bad.
[14:52] Speaker 2: Hold on.
[14:52] Speaker 1: No, no. This is interesting.
[14:54] Speaker 4: Damn.
[14:55] Speaker 1: Curly died before he turned 50? Yeah.
[14:58] Speaker 2: Shemp died at night. Oh, Curly and Shemp were brothers.
[15:01] Speaker 2: I wonder if Shemp was like, you know, like not
[15:05] Speaker 2: showing up on time.
[15:08] Speaker 4: Of all the surprising places that these shows end up,
[15:13] Speaker 4: Three Stooges? Yes. I was not expecting three Stooges analysis
[15:17] Speaker 4: this morning.
[15:18] Speaker 1: Shemp went solo. He had a contract dispute, and he
[15:21] Speaker 1: went solo. Shemp to Bobby Brown. Under three Stooges. Too
[15:29] Speaker 1: hot to handle, too cold to hold.
[15:31] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[15:32] Speaker 1: You know? The Bobby Brown.
[15:35] Speaker 4: The other thing about the Brian Flores part is I
[15:39] Speaker 4: find myself not as... gung-ho as i used to be
[15:45] Speaker 4: about he black we gotta we gotta look like you
[15:50] Speaker 4: gotta get it done because i feel less good about
[15:55] Speaker 4: people making it that i or individuals reaching some higher
[16:00] Speaker 4: playing than i do about like something more, I don't know,
[16:05] Speaker 4: something more systemic as far as addressing this. I feel
[16:08] Speaker 4: less like I was in Denver when Obama was running.
[16:12] Speaker 4: That felt like something. I was like, oh, we doing,
[16:14] Speaker 4: it felt like we a part of the civil rights movement.
[16:17] Speaker 4: And then you look up and like, nah. Like, That
[16:21] Speaker 4: was tight for Barack.
[16:22] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[16:23] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[16:23] Speaker 2: Now, I also want to be clear about something, though,
[16:25] Speaker 2: with Flores that I do think is important.
[16:27] Speaker 1: It does seem clear that they was messing with him. Yeah.
[16:31] Speaker 4: Right.
[16:33] Speaker 2: Like there's there's no. And that's the part that matters there.
[16:37] Speaker 2: He's not the only jerk that's out there. There are
[16:39] Speaker 2: other jerks. There are other jerks that get jobs and
[16:42] Speaker 2: very few have demonstrated themselves to be as accomplished as him.
[16:45] Speaker 2: He's the only guy to leave that Belichick nest. And
[16:49] Speaker 2: make something of himself, really. Other than Nick Saban. Who
[16:53] Speaker 2: can you think of from the Patriots time that you
[16:55] Speaker 2: really look at? Does Bill O'Brien count? I guess he
[16:58] Speaker 2: wasn't bad. He was okay.
[17:01] Speaker 4: I think some people will give him Vrabel, even though
[17:05] Speaker 4: he's not technically part of the coaching tree. But he's
[17:08] Speaker 4: really never developed, which makes you want to re-inspect that dynasty.
[17:13] Speaker 4: It's like, how? How would nobody come out of there
[17:15] Speaker 4: and be any good?
[17:16] Speaker 1: Well, maybe, just maybe, Bill Belichick is just that cold.
[17:20] Speaker 2: The other argument, of course, is Tom Brady's just that cold,
[17:22] Speaker 2: but I saw what it was before Brady became Brady.
[17:25] Speaker 2: Belichick might just really be that dude.
[17:28] Speaker 4: I don't mean that to say that we should reinspect
[17:32] Speaker 4: it like being more judgmental. I mean that to say
[17:35] Speaker 4: it might be more interesting because we throw it in
[17:37] Speaker 4: there as a dynasty like the other ones, but all
[17:40] Speaker 4: the other dynasties had like offshoots. Like if you think
[17:43] Speaker 4: of the 49ers and the Cowboys, those, they had coaches
[17:47] Speaker 4: and like the whole NFL, like the Denver Broncos and
[17:51] Speaker 4: the way everyone plays offense today is all like derivative
[17:56] Speaker 4: of like Bill Walsh and Mike Shanahan and like all
[17:59] Speaker 4: that stuff. Like you can find, you can still find
[18:01] Speaker 4: people who reference like the old Cowboys and how they
[18:04] Speaker 4: do things like right down to the, the way you
[18:06] Speaker 4: value draft picks like that. There's nothing like that from Belichick, right?
[18:11] Speaker 1: That is interesting.
[18:12] Speaker 4: Get your quarterback to take a discount? What's the lasting
[18:15] Speaker 4: principle that you got from this? It's like get out
[18:18] Speaker 4: of contracts early maybe?
[18:19] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[18:19] Speaker 2: Well, I guess part of the problem with your style
[18:22] Speaker 2: is I have no style, is that you have no style,
[18:24] Speaker 2: and so nobody necessarily jumps on and adapts.
[18:27] Speaker 1: But you're right.
[18:27] Speaker 2: There is, and I guess people who are a little
[18:29] Speaker 2: more football nerdy than me, like what's the style? What
[18:32] Speaker 2: is the thing that people look at and say that's
[18:33] Speaker 2: the Bill Belichick impact?
[18:35] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[18:36] Speaker 4: I mean, I guess maybe it is just the flexibility
[18:38] Speaker 4: and adaptability that they show. Maybe the fact that there
[18:40] Speaker 4: is no style.
[18:41] Speaker 1: Some shit that can't nobody else do.
[18:43] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[18:44] Speaker 1: Right.
[18:44] Speaker 2: Like that's that's what it comes down to is. Yeah,
[18:47] Speaker 2: you could try it. You know, speaking of things that
[18:51] Speaker 2: you could try. Cowboys are trying something that everybody seems
[18:55] Speaker 2: to try, at least at some point.
[18:57] Speaker 1: And I'm actually thinking about this.
[18:58] Speaker 2: Dominique, I feel like you may not have ever been
[19:00] Speaker 2: in one of these because you made a point of this.
[19:03] Speaker 2: Dominique is like, I have always been on good teams.
[19:07] Speaker 2: And since he's always been on good teams, that means
[19:10] Speaker 2: that Dominique has never had to attend.
[19:14] Speaker 1: A players only meeting.
[19:17] Speaker 2: Those of you who go back to the right time
[19:19] Speaker 2: from when we was on the radio know me and
[19:21] Speaker 2: Shannon love nothing more than when the word gets out
[19:25] Speaker 2: that it is a players-only meeting. Has the players only
[19:32] Speaker 2: meeting ever fixed the problem? And by the way, it's
[19:35] Speaker 2: the Cowboys defense.
[19:37] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[19:37] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[19:38] Speaker 4: I've been fortunate not to be at a players only
[19:40] Speaker 4: meeting and it is the Cowboys defense. That is the problem.
[19:43] Speaker 4: And last week, the offense didn't show up, but I
[19:46] Speaker 4: think that happens from time to time. You can get
[19:48] Speaker 4: over it, but when it rains, it pulls. like you
[19:51] Speaker 4: mentioned I've never been in one of those like serious
[19:53] Speaker 4: players only meetings about the season I've been in players
[19:56] Speaker 4: only meetings about beef where there was like a locker
[19:59] Speaker 4: room where they're like, let's get together and let's clear
[20:01] Speaker 4: the air. Right. That sort of thing. And it's like
[20:04] Speaker 4: a position only if you have some issue within your position.
[20:07] Speaker 4: So like, that's not something that goes away and their
[20:09] Speaker 4: fights and all that sort of stuff.
[20:11] Speaker 1: Sometimes the players only meeting, but it's.
[20:14] Speaker 4: The problem is it's the, the effort is to address
[20:18] Speaker 4: something in one day that you've had a problem with
[20:21] Speaker 4: for many days now, and it goes all the way
[20:24] Speaker 4: back and you can't really fix it because all that
[20:26] Speaker 4: the players only meeting is about is like, let's recommit,
[20:29] Speaker 4: let's address the culture. Like, don't give up on the season.
[20:34] Speaker 4: We need to be in early and out late. Like,
[20:36] Speaker 4: this is our lives that are on the line here.
[20:38] Speaker 4: Our livelihood that's on the line here. Fuck them coaches.
[20:41] Speaker 4: They're going to work somewhere else. I don't care. They
[20:44] Speaker 4: all got friends. They'll be fine. This is on us.
[20:46] Speaker 4: We don't know what they're doing, what they're not doing,
[20:48] Speaker 4: but we got to get this right. This is all
[20:50] Speaker 4: we care about. You put film out there. This is
[20:52] Speaker 4: the guy.
[20:52] Speaker 1: Like, it's all that stuff. And it's like, you know what?
[20:56] Speaker 1: This is stuff we should have been doing.
[20:58] Speaker 4: It's gotten out of hand. It's a problem now. It's
[21:00] Speaker 4: like a it's a cultural thing.
[21:03] Speaker 2: Right.
[21:04] Speaker 4: Which you feel like can't be changed in one night.
[21:06] Speaker 4: But sometimes I think the best move or the outcome
[21:09] Speaker 4: of players only meetings in like hiring a new coach
[21:13] Speaker 4: or firing a coach is like it gives you a
[21:16] Speaker 4: reason to believe. For a second, it's like, oh, now
[21:20] Speaker 4: we got Petten up in here. Things are going to
[21:21] Speaker 4: be better, right? Oh, we traded for Quinn and Williams
[21:24] Speaker 4: last year.
[21:25] Speaker 1: Things are going to be better.
[21:26] Speaker 4: And I think oftentimes things.
[21:27] Speaker 1: Do get better for a week or two.
[21:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like the players-only meeting is either the
[21:34] Speaker 2: best news that a coach can get or the worst
[21:37] Speaker 2: news that a coach can get.
[21:38] Speaker 4: Oh, hold on. Let me cut you off right there.
[21:41] Speaker 3: News.
[21:43] Speaker 4: I'm not sure that all players-only meetings– Or not.
[21:47] Speaker 1: It's sent from upstairs.
[21:48] Speaker 4: Yeah. I think sometimes it's like we can't get through
[21:51] Speaker 4: to them. Hey, big dog. It's time to press that button.
[21:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And so that's a great point, right? So
[22:00] Speaker 1: let's look at it.
[22:03] Speaker 2: For purposes of this discussion, we will start with an
[22:06] Speaker 2: assumption that this came from the players themselves.
[22:10] Speaker 1: Okay? Either A, as coach.
[22:15] Speaker 2: You've done what you were supposed to do, and now
[22:17] Speaker 2: they got to be accountable and take care of things,
[22:20] Speaker 2: and you're glad that they are showing that level of responsibility.
[22:24] Speaker 1: Or option B, it is the player saying, what'd he know?
[22:29] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[22:29] Speaker 2: And that's the worry that you have because they win
[22:31] Speaker 2: a guy. So the Cowboys have a first-year defensive coordinator
[22:34] Speaker 2: named Christian Parker.
[22:35] Speaker 1: And, you know, to be honest, room for the brother.
[22:38] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, this is
[22:41] Speaker 1: your chance, you know?
[22:43] Speaker 2: They win a guy, Mike Pettin, who is a very
[22:46] Speaker 2: interesting guy because he had spent two years as the
[22:49] Speaker 2: head coach for the Browns and said, I never want
[22:51] Speaker 2: to do that ever again. Very well-regarded defensive mind. And
[22:55] Speaker 2: they brought him in to help out Christian Parker, which
[22:57] Speaker 2: I think is a cool thing. I don't look at
[23:01] Speaker 2: that as a bad sign for Parker as much as
[23:03] Speaker 2: I think a lot of other people do.
[23:05] Speaker 1: He's new to the gig.
[23:06] Speaker 2: Apparently, if they see that he's struggling in some way,
[23:08] Speaker 2: I'd much rather the team say they're doing something to
[23:10] Speaker 2: support him rather than to just completely bail on him
[23:14] Speaker 2: under these circumstances.
[23:16] Speaker 1: I get that. However, yeah.
[23:20] Speaker 2: They're also saying that they are saying it's your fault.
[23:24] Speaker 2: And the players taking this to players only is saying
[23:27] Speaker 2: maybe he'll be able to help us. But right now
[23:29] Speaker 2: he can't and he ain't.
[23:31] Speaker 4: I think that where I slightly disagree with you is
[23:35] Speaker 4: I get your point. And the problem is for him,
[23:41] Speaker 4: they've determined that this to me suggests we can't start
[23:45] Speaker 4: over right now, but we're going to start over soon.
[23:49] Speaker 4: So like the problem with bringing Mike Patton in is
[23:53] Speaker 4: best case scenario.
[23:56] Speaker 1: Shit solved.
[23:57] Speaker 4: Yep.
[23:57] Speaker 1: And who gets the credit? What are you here for? Right. Why?
[24:02] Speaker 1: Why are we paying you more than we paying him?
[24:04] Speaker 1: Why are you even here?
[24:06] Speaker 4: Right. So like there's he's still in it. And if
[24:09] Speaker 4: shit don't get better, Patton, Patton in a good spot.
[24:13] Speaker 4: Shit don't get better. Well, it's because I wasn't here
[24:16] Speaker 4: during training camp. He was teaching my principles. He just
[24:20] Speaker 4: ain't have me here to make sure. So why don't
[24:23] Speaker 4: you hand that on over to your boy? Like that
[24:25] Speaker 4: to me, that's a bad spot for him to be in.
[24:28] Speaker 2: Remember when the Milwaukee Bucks was asking Doc Rivers for
[24:30] Speaker 2: advice and then fired that coach after like three weeks?
[24:34] Speaker 1: And who did they hire? You're damn right. You're damn right. Well, yeah.
[24:40] Speaker 4: Doc, talk about people who know how to play the game, boy.
[24:44] Speaker 1: Yes, he does. Doc Smoove. Yes, he does. Yes, he does.
[24:48] Speaker 2: And honestly, man, once the word gets out that you
[24:50] Speaker 2: know how to play the game, you would think that
[24:52] Speaker 2: people would know.
[24:52] Speaker 1: Not to think that he could play. Nope, still goes.
[24:55] Speaker 1: Still goes. But let me ask you this. What do
[24:57] Speaker 1: you think is the problem that the Cowboys have on defense?
[24:59] Speaker 4: Everything.
[25:00] Speaker 1: Everything?
[25:02] Speaker 4: I would say it's not everything at once, which is
[25:06] Speaker 4: a harder thing to address. It's a bunch of different
[25:10] Speaker 4: things at different times. And that's one of the things
[25:12] Speaker 4: that we underappreciate about football, about how the complexity leads to.
[25:20] Speaker 4: breakdowns right so like you can look pretty bad like
[25:23] Speaker 4: your linebackers could look bad if your defensive tackles are
[25:27] Speaker 4: are being selfish and shooting gaps so make your linebackers
[25:29] Speaker 4: look bad because your d tackles will be in the
[25:31] Speaker 4: backfield but they're not in their gap and they've allowed
[25:33] Speaker 4: the double team to bypass them and get to the
[25:35] Speaker 4: second level Right. So like there's so many things like that,
[25:38] Speaker 4: that you'll see situations where that happens. And then you
[25:40] Speaker 4: see situations where the linebackers get the wrong read. You
[25:43] Speaker 4: can tell that they're supposed to like fill a gap
[25:46] Speaker 4: or spill a block and they choose not to or
[25:48] Speaker 4: they're not choose not to. They like have a brain fart,
[25:51] Speaker 4: but it's not the same thing every time. Then you
[25:54] Speaker 4: see in the secondary, sometimes there's a blown coverage and
[25:56] Speaker 4: sometimes they just get beat. Like that's one of the
[25:58] Speaker 4: problems I think that we don't talk about is like
[26:01] Speaker 4: you're going to lose.
[26:03] Speaker 1: But when you have a.
[26:03] Speaker 4: Reputation and something is hanging over your head, it's a
[26:06] Speaker 4: different feeling when you lose a play. It's like, Oh,
[26:10] Speaker 4: here we go again. But the problem is you're the
[26:12] Speaker 4: rules are designed and you're playing against NFL guys is
[26:15] Speaker 4: that sometimes they're just going to make a play. And
[26:17] Speaker 4: then sometimes you're like, man, we suck at defense. The
[26:20] Speaker 4: problem when you suck at defense is when they make
[26:22] Speaker 4: a play, it begins that psychological avalanche and begins the
[26:26] Speaker 4: writing and the talking and all that stuff that ends
[26:29] Speaker 4: up multiplying all the things. Because even if players say
[26:32] Speaker 4: they don't listen, somebody listened, somebody in that building listen
[26:36] Speaker 4: and they care and it influences the way that you're
[26:38] Speaker 4: treated and the way that you prepare.
[26:39] Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you this brother. I'm glad that
[26:42] Speaker 2: you gave that answer to me of everything. Cause it
[26:45] Speaker 2: reminds me once I was in graduate school, quite honestly,
[26:50] Speaker 2: getting my ass whooped. And I went to my macro
[26:54] Speaker 2: economics professor to ask him a question about the homework
[27:00] Speaker 2: that he had given us. And I mean, I'm going
[27:04] Speaker 2: to be honest with you, man. I ain't really in
[27:06] Speaker 2: the business of diagnosing nobody, but his lack of social
[27:09] Speaker 2: skills probably had a name. I mean, I can't say
[27:12] Speaker 2: that for certain, but he probably had a name. So
[27:14] Speaker 2: I go in there to talk to him. This motherfucker
[27:16] Speaker 2: looking at the computer screen the whole time. He'll never
[27:18] Speaker 2: look at me. I'm trying to talk my way through
[27:20] Speaker 2: whatever it is. And I'm not taking it personally. It's
[27:22] Speaker 2: obvious that this is much bigger than me, right?
[27:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, University of Chicago, PhD, all this stuff, right?
[27:27] Speaker 2: So I'm going through all this, da-da-da, and I explain
[27:31] Speaker 2: to him. And I really did think I was cooking.
[27:33] Speaker 2: And the man said to me, and I.
[27:35] Speaker 5: Quote, well, it seems that you are off on one thing,
[27:43] Speaker 5: and that one thing is everything.
[27:46] Speaker 2: And I remember I stopped, and I took a minute,
[27:55] Speaker 2: a beat, and I looked at him, and I was like,
[27:58] Speaker 2: how's that going to help me do this homework?
[28:03] Speaker 1: What are next steps? Where do we go from here? Not, no, okay, well,
[28:10] Speaker 1: let's start with this one. Nope, it's just like, so
[28:12] Speaker 1: what are you off on? All of it, dawg. Every
[28:17] Speaker 1: single bit of it. so hard to imagine for.
[28:22] Speaker 4: You like obviously that which is humanizing it is great
[28:26] Speaker 4: and all that but it's also intimidating i can't imagine like.
[28:30] Speaker 2: Buddy i don't know buddy i was a long year
[28:32] Speaker 2: man i was drowning man i was drowning on.
[28:36] Speaker 4: I badly want some other explanation like you were heartbroken
[28:41] Speaker 4: or there was some tragedy in your.
[28:42] Speaker 2: Life year two year two was drowning in the heartbreak
[28:45] Speaker 2: year year one the the point was for them to
[28:49] Speaker 2: drown you and heartbreak you.
[28:51] Speaker 1: That was what the whole... I was not alone, right?
[28:54] Speaker 1: We were all in there just like... Oh, my God. Dude,
[28:58] Speaker 1: I remember that year. It was the year that College
[29:01] Speaker 1: Dropout came out.
[29:03] Speaker 2: And I was listening to College Dropout all the way
[29:06] Speaker 2: to school every day to try to get some motivation, man.
[29:09] Speaker 1: Try to get myself to.
[29:12] Speaker 4: Where I needed to be. Shit, man. The man might
[29:18] Speaker 4: not have been all that socially adept.
[29:21] Speaker 1: But he's a hell of an entertainer. Yeah. He milked
[29:24] Speaker 1: that moment. I'm going to tell you this.
[29:26] Speaker 2: That's the first time anybody ever called that man entertaining.
[29:29] Speaker 2: Just so you know. I will say I did pass
[29:31] Speaker 2: that class and pass that qualified exam. I did turn
[29:35] Speaker 2: up on the other side of that, but I couldn't
[29:36] Speaker 2: believe what he said that to me.
[29:38] Speaker 4: I don't know.
[29:39] Speaker 1: This is 23 year old me. Yeah. You know what?
[29:44] Speaker 1: Coming up next, we're going to talk about some actual

[31:25] Speaker 3: and Bo Nix, 199.5 pass yards. Bo, what are you
[31:29] Speaker 3: expecting this Thursday night game?
[31:30] Speaker 1: I'm thinking less on both of those, but quietly might
[31:34] Speaker 1: be leaning on more for Bo.
[31:36] Speaker 2: Nix, just because I think there's a chance that the
[31:38] Speaker 2: Broncos will be behind more in this game, and therefore...
[31:41] Speaker 2: have to throw the ball even if that's not a
[31:43] Speaker 2: great idea.
[31:44] Speaker 3: Did you see his press conference where he was talking
[31:46] Speaker 3: about um you know he doesn't really believe in bad
[31:50] Speaker 3: luck and you know he doesn't believe in bad outcomes
[31:52] Speaker 3: he uh no matter what he seems to believe in
[31:55] Speaker 3: himself yeah you know.
[31:57] Speaker 2: Yeah i bet that's good for him how good that
[32:00] Speaker 2: is for everybody else i don't really have a great
[32:01] Speaker 2: handle um on that part but i don't know why
[32:04] Speaker 2: he doesn't.
[32:04] Speaker 1: Believe in luck his luck is very good he in
[32:06] Speaker 1: the nfl.
[32:09] Speaker 3: All right, that's our Thursday Night Action. Thanks again to
[32:11] Speaker 3: Price Pick. Use code BOMANI to join the action.
[32:18] Speaker 2: Look, if you run a small business, you already know
[32:21] Speaker 2: the problem usually isn't ambition.
[32:24] Speaker 1: It's timing.
[32:26] Speaker 2: You need to replace equipment, stock up on inventory, cover payroll,
[32:30] Speaker 2: take advantage of an opportunity, and somehow the traditional bank
[32:34] Speaker 2: wants you to fill out paperwork like you're applying to
[32:36] Speaker 2: join the CIA. That's where Cardiff comes in. Their application
[32:40] Speaker 2: takes about three minutes. There's no impact on your personal
[32:43] Speaker 2: credit just to apply, and they can provide up to
[32:47] Speaker 2: $ 500, 000 in same-day funding. Approval in minutes. Funding same day.
[32:52] Speaker 2: And this isn't some brand that just showed up yesterday.
[32:55] Speaker 2: Cardiff has funded more than $ 12 billion to small businesses nationwide. Now,
[33:01] Speaker 2: the qualifications are straightforward. You need to have been in
[33:04] Speaker 2: business for at least one year and doing at least
[33:08] Speaker 2: $ 20, 000 per month in revenue. So if your business is
[33:11] Speaker 2: moving and you need capital without all the unnecessary waiting,
[33:15] Speaker 2: check out Cardiff. Go to cardiff.co slash trt. That's cardiff.co
[33:23] Speaker 2: slash trt.
[33:25] Speaker 1: Real growth. Fast funding. Cardiff. Borrow better. All right, we
[33:31] Speaker 1: are back with Dominique Foxworth. Hey, we got a good
[33:33] Speaker 1: Thursday night game.
[33:34] Speaker 2: We can't be certain that we're going to get so
[33:36] Speaker 2: many of those, but we got the Seahawks and we
[33:39] Speaker 2: got the Broncos. And, you know, quite honestly, it wouldn't
[33:43] Speaker 2: be a good idea for either of those teams to
[33:45] Speaker 2: lose that game. Like, I feel like the loser of
[33:46] Speaker 2: this game cannot win their division. They're going to be
[33:48] Speaker 2: playing on the road for the whole playoffs.
[33:51] Speaker 1: And neither of those teams.
[33:53] Speaker 4: It's the funny thing about these teams this year is
[33:55] Speaker 4: it feels like, and I guess it last year was
[33:57] Speaker 4: true too. Whoever gets the buy is going to be
[34:00] Speaker 4: the person who gets the chance to win.
[34:01] Speaker 1: And now that there's only one buy, like it's hugely important.
[34:04] Speaker 4: These early season games that the Rams have been dropping
[34:07] Speaker 4: and that the Seahawks dropped last week and the Broncos
[34:10] Speaker 4: been dropping. Like we're not going to be talking about
[34:12] Speaker 4: them at the end of the year, but those are
[34:13] Speaker 4: going to be the ones I think that end up
[34:15] Speaker 4: deciding who gets that buy and who ends up representing
[34:19] Speaker 4: their conference at the Super Bowl and obviously these are
[34:21] Speaker 4: different conferences but it feels that way because everyone is
[34:24] Speaker 4: so feels so flawed right like all these teams that
[34:27] Speaker 4: we think are great and maybe of course teams change
[34:30] Speaker 4: and they get better but all the teams that we
[34:32] Speaker 4: think have a real chance have like a significant flaw
[34:35] Speaker 4: that is gonna get exposed and when I talk I
[34:39] Speaker 4: forgot what show I was on some show yesterday talking
[34:41] Speaker 4: about how we erase the the like bailout game from
[34:46] Speaker 4: everybody's playoff run. But if you think about every team's
[34:50] Speaker 4: playoff run, the one thing that is their weakness at
[34:53] Speaker 4: some point, they step up and it's normally like a
[34:56] Speaker 4: quarterback who's your strength is going to throw enough interceptions
[34:59] Speaker 4: that you should lose the game, but your defense that
[35:01] Speaker 4: you thought wasn't that good or your special teams get
[35:03] Speaker 4: a great return or you end up getting a bunch
[35:05] Speaker 4: of turnovers. So last year it was Sam Donald can't
[35:09] Speaker 4: cook like that. So we got to hide them one
[35:11] Speaker 4: game against the Rams, Sam Donald with ape shit. And
[35:14] Speaker 4: that's all they needed, right? The rest of the games,
[35:16] Speaker 4: he didn't do nothing. So I see that for these
[35:18] Speaker 4: teams and the team that has one fewer game that
[35:20] Speaker 4: they have to actually like, gamble that that team is
[35:25] Speaker 4: likely gonna make it to the super bowl and that
[35:27] Speaker 4: those games are decide are being decided right now and.
[35:29] Speaker 1: I think even if it doesn't get to the point
[35:31] Speaker 1: of the bye week just winning the division or being
[35:35] Speaker 1: you know playing that home game in the wild card
[35:37] Speaker 1: round or having the home game the next round like
[35:39] Speaker 1: if you get the number two you're gonna get that
[35:42] Speaker 1: the loser of this game is probably going to end
[35:46] Speaker 1: the week three games behind the division leader oh right
[35:51] Speaker 1: um The Chiefs are playing the Chargers. The 49ers are
[35:55] Speaker 1: playing the Commandos. I would assume that both those home
[36:00] Speaker 1: teams who are undefeated are going to win those games.
[36:03] Speaker 4: I'm excited about the 49ers-Commandos game because, sorry, it's just
[36:06] Speaker 4: a little bit of a plug. I'm doing the... simulcast
[36:10] Speaker 4: where we do like the playbook thing so i'll be
[36:14] Speaker 4: on there with brian hoyer i think breaking down the
[36:16] Speaker 4: x's and o's so if you get tired of troy
[36:19] Speaker 4: and joe.
[36:19] Speaker 2: I ain't even know this till right now boy we
[36:22] Speaker 2: done a whole presentation up there for you you know
[36:24] Speaker 2: what i'm.
[36:24] Speaker 1: Saying go go check dominique fosworth out breaking down the
[36:27] Speaker 1: plays with uh with hoyo there.
[36:30] Speaker 4: You go i'm uh i'm particularly excited about that linebacker
[36:35] Speaker 4: sunny styles i think he the second coming of fred Warner.
[36:39] Speaker 4: I've been watching a lot of them lately. We'll be
[36:42] Speaker 4: looking at it. I don't think they're going to beat
[36:44] Speaker 4: the 49ers.
[36:45] Speaker 1: Another conversation.
[36:47] Speaker 2: I made to this point with RJ Young on Wednesday.
[36:50] Speaker 2: Arville Reese and Sonny Styles make me think Ryan Day
[36:54] Speaker 2: is really bad at his job.
[36:56] Speaker 1: Buddy that's the only conclusion i can.
[36:58] Speaker 4: Draw buddy is it him the same thing could be
[37:01] Speaker 4: said of dabble sweeney like these boys that was at
[37:04] Speaker 4: clemson balling out this year in the league all the
[37:07] Speaker 4: rookies balling out it's just yeah they recruiting and coaching
[37:11] Speaker 4: are two different things and ryan day get them boys
[37:14] Speaker 4: in there but reese and styles and then put downs
[37:17] Speaker 4: on top of it How did anybody score?
[37:19] Speaker 1: They did have downs.
[37:21] Speaker 2: Or is the grander indictment not of Ryan Day but
[37:26] Speaker 2: of Matt Patricia? Matt Patricia can't even coach an NFL
[37:29] Speaker 2: defense when they playing in college. He got an NFL
[37:34] Speaker 2: team against a college team. And it still ain't going right.
[37:39] Speaker 4: That's like– It's like Ed Ogeron not winning the title
[37:44] Speaker 4: that one time. Like, he got those type of players
[37:47] Speaker 4: on the defensive side of the ball. Yeah. That's what
[37:49] Speaker 4: it looked like to me.
[37:50] Speaker 2: Hey, shout out to Ed Ogeron, by the way. A
[37:51] Speaker 2: whole lot of people might have found a way to
[37:53] Speaker 2: mess that up. Ed Ogeron did not. In fact, Ed Ogeron,
[37:56] Speaker 2: every day when somebody explained to him what Ryan Day got.
[37:59] Speaker 1: To, he don't. Right? Like, what is he? What's really hood? Like,
[38:07] Speaker 1: what are we talking about? Show me.
[38:09] Speaker 4: He know how to talk to people. That's what it
[38:12] Speaker 4: comes down to. It's right there. It makes people feel
[38:14] Speaker 4: more comfortable. Ed Ogeron is like.
[38:16] Speaker 2: No, the problem is that when things start going wrong
[38:19] Speaker 2: for Ed Ogeron, it confirms your priors.
[38:22] Speaker 1: That's the issue.
[38:23] Speaker 2: That's the issue for Ed Ogeron. Hey, I give Ed
[38:26] Speaker 2: Ogeron credit for this, too. Ed Ogeron got the job
[38:29] Speaker 2: he always wanted. He reached the mountaintop at that job
[38:32] Speaker 2: he always wanted.
[38:33] Speaker 1: It's cool. Ed over there helping Lane out right now.
[38:36] Speaker 1: Ed wasn't about to be going out in the middle
[38:38] Speaker 1: of nowhere. Ed wasn't about to be going to Louisiana Lafayette,
[38:41] Speaker 1: Louisiana Monroe. Nope, nope, nope.
[38:43] Speaker 2: Ed was like, how much money you going to give
[38:45] Speaker 2: me to leave? Where do I sign? I'm going to
[38:48] Speaker 2: just go fishing and eating crawfish and talking unintelligibly.
[38:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, Ed O figured it out.
[38:58] Speaker 4: But, yeah, you named a bunch of games that were
[39:01] Speaker 4: really interesting. I only stopped down on one in order
[39:03] Speaker 4: to hype myself up. What are the other games that
[39:06] Speaker 4: you want to talk about?
[39:07] Speaker 1: Okay, let me ask you this. Do you think that
[39:10] Speaker 1: there's a chance that the Texans can recover this season?
[39:19] Speaker 1: Not really. Because there shouldn't be, right? Like, they're down 0-4. 0-4.
[39:23] Speaker 1: They won last week. Stroud has been better than he
[39:27] Speaker 1: was when we saw him at the end of last year.
[39:29] Speaker 1: They just went in and... acquired a receiver. Names don't
[39:32] Speaker 1: really matter. That's the details, shmeetails. But I don't know.
[39:40] Speaker 2: I don't feel as great about Jacksonville, the record notwithstanding,
[39:43] Speaker 2: especially after they pulled that one out of their keister
[39:45] Speaker 2: against that depleted, Eagles team that they played against last week.
[39:51] Speaker 2: But if they can get themselves into a wild card situation,
[39:55] Speaker 2: I still feel like it's a defense you don't want
[39:57] Speaker 2: no parts of.
[39:58] Speaker 1: Though they haven't played that well this year.
[40:01] Speaker 4: That's the thing. And looking back at them, you're right.
[40:04] Speaker 4: They haven't played as well as we expected, but I
[40:05] Speaker 4: don't think they're bad. Like there's no reason for me
[40:08] Speaker 4: to believe like they don't need to have a players
[40:09] Speaker 4: only meeting. There's no reason for me to believe that
[40:12] Speaker 4: things don't break a little bit better in their direction
[40:15] Speaker 4: defensively for the rest of the season. That's like a
[40:17] Speaker 4: regression of the mean, the opposite way of how we
[40:20] Speaker 4: normally talk about it. But that's the real thing, too,
[40:22] Speaker 4: because their mean is different from other people's mean. And
[40:25] Speaker 4: right now they've been below it. without like a glaring issue.
[40:28] Speaker 4: And it's not quite clear to me. I think people,
[40:31] Speaker 4: their defense is more straightforward. It's less like complicated as
[40:34] Speaker 4: Brian Flores is, or it appears less complicated as like
[40:37] Speaker 4: Brian Flores' defense is, which there are pros and cons, right,
[40:40] Speaker 4: with everything. So the straightforward defense is one that is
[40:43] Speaker 4: easier to scheme against, but... we can whoop your ass
[40:46] Speaker 4: at just about every position, so we're good there. The
[40:48] Speaker 4: Brian Flores scheme defense is like, yeah, sometimes you can't
[40:51] Speaker 4: rely on a coach to outsmart everybody every week. Sometimes
[40:55] Speaker 4: it's going to catch up to you, and you like
[40:57] Speaker 4: to have that one player or a couple of players
[41:00] Speaker 4: that are just like, the scheme don't matter because I'm
[41:02] Speaker 4: so much better than them.
[41:03] Speaker 1: So they're pros and cons to both, and I think Flores' defense.
[41:06] Speaker 4: will regress to the mean negatively in some ways and
[41:09] Speaker 4: I think the Texans will regress to the mean positively
[41:12] Speaker 4: and get more interceptions and turnovers and stuff that they
[41:15] Speaker 4: created last year but the question is is it too
[41:17] Speaker 4: late Because there were a couple of games that they
[41:19] Speaker 4: had a chance to win earlier in the season, and
[41:22] Speaker 4: they lost them. And they're going to continue to be
[41:25] Speaker 4: those type of games, and they're going to be some
[41:26] Speaker 4: that they deserve to lose. Have they put themselves in
[41:29] Speaker 4: too deep a hole to pull out? Because I don't
[41:30] Speaker 4: think this team can't compete. If we just dropped them
[41:33] Speaker 4: in the playoffs today, I'd feel like they have a
[41:35] Speaker 4: chance to make a run, and most teams wouldn't want
[41:38] Speaker 4: to play them. But given the hole they put themselves in,
[41:41] Speaker 4: the question is, can they play flawlessly the rest of
[41:43] Speaker 4: the season?
[41:44] Speaker 2: We got Dallas Green Bay on Sunday night. There is
[41:49] Speaker 2: a chance that Green Bay will be 4-2 at the
[41:52] Speaker 2: end of this game. That doesn't feel right.
[41:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's not.
[41:58] Speaker 2: It's like as bad as they look, any time I
[42:01] Speaker 2: put my eyes on them, as bad as they look,
[42:04] Speaker 2: they come out of this at 4-2, even though they
[42:07] Speaker 2: can't block people.
[42:09] Speaker 4: Yeah, they're in great shape. They are in a division,
[42:13] Speaker 4: luckily for them, where all the teams have enormous flaws.
[42:18] Speaker 4: The Vikings seem like Kyler may address their biggest flaw.
[42:23] Speaker 4: He may not.
[42:23] Speaker 1: It's only maybe. It's only maybe. Yeah.
[42:26] Speaker 4: I mean, the question is, can he play mediocre and
[42:30] Speaker 4: occasionally show a flash of great? That's the question. And
[42:35] Speaker 4: that feels more likely than, like, say, the Bears' defense
[42:40] Speaker 4: or the Lions' defense is going to, like, be consistently good.
[42:44] Speaker 4: So that's the benefit is they could make it into
[42:47] Speaker 4: the playoffs. But one of the problems with some of
[42:48] Speaker 4: these teams, especially teams that have great quarterbacks, like a
[42:51] Speaker 4: really good quarterbacks, like love is when you've been there
[42:54] Speaker 4: for long enough, the expectation is more than just make
[42:56] Speaker 4: the playoffs. And I don't think against good teams, they
[42:59] Speaker 4: are going to play well in the playoffs. So they
[43:03] Speaker 4: might sneak into the playoffs or they might win the
[43:05] Speaker 4: division and not sneak in, just walk right into the playoffs.
[43:09] Speaker 4: And I feel like they aren't good enough up front
[43:11] Speaker 4: or on defense, even when they get, um, micah back
[43:14] Speaker 4: to to beat anybody.
[43:16] Speaker 2: But even with that in mind neither of us is
[43:18] Speaker 2: entertaining the possibility that the cowboys are going to win
[43:21] Speaker 2: that game they're.
[43:23] Speaker 1: Not gonna get you huh.
[43:26] Speaker 4: Yeah. I gave up on them week one when I
[43:29] Speaker 4: saw their defense because.
[43:32] Speaker 1: You bailed immediately because I, you know what it was.
[43:35] Speaker 4: And like, I know we try to pretend like all
[43:37] Speaker 4: of us are unbiased and whatever, but like, nah, I
[43:40] Speaker 4: was hurt emotionally. I spent the off season drinking a Kool-Aid.
[43:45] Speaker 4: Y'all spent the whole off season drafting and trading and
[43:48] Speaker 4: signing and, and hiring. And you told me that your
[43:51] Speaker 4: focus was going to be on defense and, Week one,
[43:54] Speaker 4: week two, I'm going to need you to show me something.
[43:57] Speaker 1: Because that's all we cared about. That's all. You focused
[44:00] Speaker 1: on it all year. And then you was bad. And
[44:03] Speaker 1: so a little of me was just pissed that I
[44:06] Speaker 1: was so dumb.
[44:08] Speaker 4: And I turned out to be right. My emotions led
[44:10] Speaker 4: me to the right answer because them boys ain't serious.
[44:13] Speaker 1: That's right over there.
[44:14] Speaker 2: That's where I am on Kyler Murray. I really put
[44:17] Speaker 2: a lot on the line.
[44:18] Speaker 1: I really did. I stepped out here. It's not looking like.
[44:21] Speaker 2: It's not looking like I made a great decision because
[44:24] Speaker 2: it's not looking like that.
[44:25] Speaker 1: You mentioned Curly earlier being from Philadelphia.
[44:31] Speaker 2: I know he's dead, but that doesn't mean he's not
[44:33] Speaker 2: on the Eagles right now because they got a bunch
[44:35] Speaker 2: of dudes that can't play in the game. They got
[44:39] Speaker 2: a hole too deep full of people that can't play
[44:42] Speaker 2: in the game, and they're going to play against the Panthers. And,
[44:46] Speaker 2: I mean, it's on the board that they could get
[44:48] Speaker 2: rolled at the crib where those people have no appreciation
[44:53] Speaker 2: for context.
[44:54] Speaker 4: Yeah. Their offense is where all the injuries are, the
[44:58] Speaker 4: most significant injuries. This is one of those things where, like,
[45:03] Speaker 4: I would say most of the time that you can't
[45:05] Speaker 4: hit a switch. Apparently Jalen Carter can. So my choice
[45:10] Speaker 4: for whether the Eagles win or lose any game for
[45:14] Speaker 4: the rest of the year is if someone could get
[45:16] Speaker 4: me on the phone with Jalen Carter before the game,
[45:21] Speaker 4: And I'm like, what you thinking?
[45:22] Speaker 1: All pro today or no? Because that's how.
[45:26] Speaker 4: Easy he made it look in the Jacksonville game. And
[45:29] Speaker 4: I know they lost that game, but it was like,
[45:32] Speaker 4: why you ain't been doing this?
[45:33] Speaker 1: Right. Jumped up and be like, who's this guy?
[45:36] Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question about Jalen Carter. And
[45:39] Speaker 2: I want to make sure I look this up properly. Okay.
[45:44] Speaker 2: Jalen Carter was the ninth pick in the 2023 draft.
[45:47] Speaker 2: He went after Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Will Anderson, Anthony Richardson,
[45:52] Speaker 2: Devon Witherspoon, Paris Johnson, Tyree Wilson, B.
[45:56] Speaker 1: John Robinson.
[45:58] Speaker 2: What in the world was in that file? What did
[46:05] Speaker 2: people tell them about this guy? Because I know if
[46:10] Speaker 2: you need a quarterback, you take a quarterback, whatever it is,
[46:13] Speaker 2: but And I know obviously there's the drag racing situation,
[46:16] Speaker 2: but they don't look past way worse than that in
[46:19] Speaker 2: this league for a dude as cold as he is.
[46:21] Speaker 2: Like the Raiders, that boy is a Raider. And they
[46:25] Speaker 2: took the wrong guy. Tyree Wills, that was a terrible decision.
[46:29] Speaker 1: They took a dude from Alaska over a dude from Florida.
[46:33] Speaker 4: At the time, I was confused by it. And I
[46:39] Speaker 4: have fewer connects than I have now. And I was
[46:43] Speaker 4: asking people because I was like, this don't make sense.
[46:45] Speaker 4: And like, to your point, I was like, yeah, that
[46:47] Speaker 4: was bad. But like, that's that hasn't scared people away
[46:52] Speaker 4: from this type of talent. And then you would hear
[46:54] Speaker 4: like the. Yeah, there would be like. nothing was firm
[47:01] Speaker 4: enough for you to, like, feel comfortable talking about. So
[47:04] Speaker 4: people would, like, suggest things about his personality and his
[47:07] Speaker 4: work ethic and stuff like that. And it was like, well,
[47:10] Speaker 4: you ain't going to put your name on it. Like,
[47:12] Speaker 4: I ain't going to be out here repeating this. So
[47:14] Speaker 4: I was the whole time like, why is he sliding?
[47:16] Speaker 4: And I remember saying, like, at nine, the Eagles got
[47:19] Speaker 4: him still at a draft. He's going to dominate this league.
[47:23] Speaker 4: And then he does sometimes and then he doesn't sometimes.
[47:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, you know why? Because it's just a little too
[47:27] Speaker 1: easy for him, dog. Yeah.
[47:29] Speaker 2: Like, why don't you do this all the time? Why
[47:30] Speaker 2: don't you do anything all the time? Why don't you
[47:32] Speaker 2: have the same thing for breakfast every day?
[47:34] Speaker 4: That's a fair point.
[47:35] Speaker 1: Sometimes you just need a little bit of a change.
[47:37] Speaker 2: The thing with him also is I wish I knew
[47:39] Speaker 2: more about him personally because all I got is that
[47:42] Speaker 2: look on his face.
[47:44] Speaker 1: And that's a defensive lineman there, brother.
[47:51] Speaker 2: They put him on offensive line one time and they
[47:53] Speaker 2: were like, he doesn't really seem interested in this.
[47:55] Speaker 1: Nah. He has no interest in pass protection.
[47:59] Speaker 2: Like, I bet he love getting out there pulling, you
[48:01] Speaker 2: know what I'm saying? Like, scoping out DBs, taking them down,
[48:06] Speaker 2: but you're just going to stand around and keep people safe?
[48:08] Speaker 4: Nah, nah, nah.
[48:09] Speaker 1: That's not what my relationship with safety is.
[48:12] Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know if this is true or not,
[48:16] Speaker 4: but this has been my experience. The history, the path
[48:19] Speaker 4: for D linemen, it rarely, especially those type of league-changing
[48:25] Speaker 4: super athlete, like, it rarely involves any O-line.
[48:30] Speaker 1: It normally involves skill positions.
[48:33] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[48:33] Speaker 1: Like you go from.
[48:34] Speaker 4: Running back to D line because you kept growing and
[48:38] Speaker 4: other kids didn't, you go from tight end to D line, right? Like,
[48:42] Speaker 4: and of course in high school, you might play both ways,
[48:44] Speaker 4: but D lineman or D lineman, but they normally come
[48:48] Speaker 4: from somewhere else. They, and sometimes D lineman get moved
[48:52] Speaker 4: over to offensive line. Cause they don't got whatever that,
[48:55] Speaker 4: that nasty streak is, but it's so rare that, I mean,
[48:59] Speaker 4: I guess tackles are athletic enough to probably do it
[49:01] Speaker 4: if they wanted to, but there's the disposition thing and
[49:04] Speaker 4: the height thing. But yeah, they normally come from more
[49:07] Speaker 4: explosive positions. They don't come from... That's a great point.
[49:11] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that is a great point. You don't just
[49:14] Speaker 2: turn them over to the other side.
[49:16] Speaker 4: Sometimes you go the other way. Sometimes you take a
[49:18] Speaker 4: D-line and like... you don't want to kill enough.
[49:22] Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you.
[49:23] Speaker 2: I always wonder like when Nick Saban had our guy
[49:26] Speaker 2: Swagoo go from playing tight end to play a defensive line,
[49:30] Speaker 2: if he ever had any reservations. And we just say
[49:33] Speaker 2: that because Marcus is such a great dude. We all
[49:36] Speaker 2: love him.
[49:37] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
[49:39] Speaker 4: Um, Yeah. But you know, Marcus.
[49:44] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[49:45] Speaker 2: But he's like, like you said, have to be nice,
[49:48] Speaker 2: have to be kind. I don't think he has to
[49:49] Speaker 2: tell himself those things. I think he does that naturally.
[49:52] Speaker 4: No, I think you're right.
[49:55] Speaker 1: I also think.
[49:56] Speaker 4: That I think it's about the capacity. I think for
[49:59] Speaker 4: some people, the ability to turn it on and turn
[50:02] Speaker 4: it off is something that they have managed to control.
[50:05] Speaker 4: And it's not fake. It's like, this is a part
[50:07] Speaker 4: of me. I think when I talk about D-line and O-line,
[50:10] Speaker 4: and of course, this is generalization. It's not true of everyone.
[50:13] Speaker 4: I think it's more about capacity. And now let me
[50:16] Speaker 4: ask you something. You know him well.
[50:18] Speaker 1: I know him really well.
[50:21] Speaker 4: Do you think he got the capacity?
[50:23] Speaker 1: I wouldn't test it.
[50:27] Speaker 4: I promise you yeah i promise you yeah yeah okay
[50:32] Speaker 4: i don't.
[50:32] Speaker 1: I don't want to i don't want to put my
[50:34] Speaker 1: man in a bad situation let me just tell you
[50:37] Speaker 1: yes yes One of my favorite.
[50:41] Speaker 2: Marcus stories is I was in the office one day,
[50:44] Speaker 2: and I can't remember why, but somebody had left some
[50:47] Speaker 2: glasses on the counter. And somebody asked if those glasses
[50:50] Speaker 2: were mine. And they're like, number one, you've never seen
[50:51] Speaker 2: me with glasses. Number two, them glasses was like yay wide.
[50:55] Speaker 2: Them glasses was like as wide as a television. There
[50:59] Speaker 2: was no question who those glasses belonged to. Those were
[51:02] Speaker 2: Marcus Spears glasses. There was no doubt.
[51:06] Speaker 4: Yep.
[51:07] Speaker 1: And he's the nicest guy. But yeah, I know. He's
[51:12] Speaker 1: still for Baton Rouge. Exactly. Exactly.
[51:16] Speaker 4: And again, he moved from tight end from basketball star.
[51:20] Speaker 4: He was they never put that man at tackle a guard.
[51:22] Speaker 4: You better stop it.
[51:24] Speaker 2: Yo, that's a great point. That's why it's surprising because
[51:27] Speaker 2: he was seen to be to be the guy of, hey,
[51:29] Speaker 2: we move. We just kick you down to play tackle.
[51:32] Speaker 2: That very often happens with like five star tight end
[51:35] Speaker 2: type players. Eric Winston. is an example of a guy
[51:38] Speaker 2: like that, right? You just slide them down and then
[51:41] Speaker 2: they like, it's so crazy to be the Darnell Washington
[51:43] Speaker 2: that never at any point did they say, how would
[51:45] Speaker 2: you like to play tackle? It feels like it would
[51:47] Speaker 2: make a lot more money for him.
[51:48] Speaker 4: I'm still saying that.
[51:50] Speaker 1: I don't understand why he's not a tackle. I don't
[51:53] Speaker 1: get it either. Like, go ahead and whatever diet that
[51:56] Speaker 1: you want, you can get off of it.
[51:57] Speaker 4: You can eat whatever you want to eat now and
[52:00] Speaker 4: make a whole lot more money. I don't get it
[52:02] Speaker 4: because he clearly has that athleticism. Maybe there's something else
[52:04] Speaker 4: there that's not worked on at Washington is the enormous
[52:07] Speaker 4: tight end for the Steelers, who was at Georgia before.
[52:11] Speaker 4: And they'd be saying he 360, but. 260, there's no chance.
[52:15] Speaker 4: I mean, they say 260.
[52:18] Speaker 1: He's 290 at the least.
[52:20] Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
[52:20] Speaker 1: He would be an incredible tackle. Do you remember Eric Green?
[52:25] Speaker 1: Eric Green used to play tight end for the Steelers
[52:28] Speaker 1: in the early 90s, and he was basically the same
[52:31] Speaker 1: size as Darnell Washington, except he was a better receiver.
[52:34] Speaker 1: He was like 6'5, 280. I wonder what Darnell.
[52:38] Speaker 4: So Darnell Washington may not have the quick twitch because
[52:41] Speaker 4: the way he plays, when the way he blocks DBs
[52:44] Speaker 4: and the way he runs with the ball, he got that...
[52:47] Speaker 4: That demeanor, it seems, that would work on the other
[52:51] Speaker 4: side of the ball, too. But, like, tackle?
[52:54] Speaker 1: Go ahead and slide on down one step and get
[52:56] Speaker 1: that money.
[52:56] Speaker 2: Clearly somebody's thought about this before we had, right? Like,
[53:00] Speaker 2: everything we're talking about here.
[53:01] Speaker 1: It's not like, you know, heard Bomani and Dominique talking
[53:03] Speaker 1: on the show. And I was just wondering, maybe we
[53:05] Speaker 1: need to kick Darnell inside. Just see how it goes.
[53:10] Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember the draft saying it. And I projected, like,
[53:14] Speaker 4: they're going to slide him down the tackle. I guarantee it.
[53:16] Speaker 1: They have it.
[53:17] Speaker 4: They just like letting him stiff on 190-pound defensive.
[53:21] Speaker 1: Backs for whatever reason. That man out there. He don't
[53:24] Speaker 1: belong in our neighborhood, man. I see you standing up
[53:26] Speaker 1: for the squad. You know what I'm saying? Like, you
[53:28] Speaker 1: ready to call 5-0. We got to get this man
[53:29] Speaker 1: off the streets. He's cheating.
[53:34] Speaker 4: Like, we already have to deal with 250, 260-pound guys. Like,
[53:39] Speaker 4: we're not supposed to have to deal with a 300-pound
[53:41] Speaker 4: guy with the ball in his hands. Yes.
[53:44] Speaker 1: Last thing.
[53:46] Speaker 2: I have been a little bit surprised. I was going
[53:48] Speaker 2: to ask about the Giants, but a little worried about
[53:51] Speaker 2: them another day. I understand that Washington blew that game,
[53:56] Speaker 2: and it was a collective failure in the way that
[53:58] Speaker 2: they blew that game.
[53:59] Speaker 1: At the end.
[54:00] Speaker 2: I have been shocked how long that topic, though, has
[54:03] Speaker 2: persisted in the media.
[54:09] Speaker 1: They get to play the 49ers. Yep. Like, what are
[54:12] Speaker 1: they going to do now?
[54:14] Speaker 4: It's such bad luck, too, is that you got the
[54:17] Speaker 4: standalone isolated game immediately after that topic. So like the
[54:24] Speaker 4: lead up to the game is going to be conversations
[54:27] Speaker 4: about what happened in the previous game.
[54:28] Speaker 1: The 49ers.
[54:29] Speaker 4: I mean, they just beat the Seahawks, the Super Bowl champs.
[54:32] Speaker 4: That's fine. But that ain't interesting. Y'all did something that
[54:36] Speaker 4: ain't never been done before. We're going to be talking
[54:38] Speaker 4: about that. We talked about it till Wednesday, maybe even
[54:43] Speaker 4: a little bit on Thursday this week. Now we're going
[54:46] Speaker 4: to let you we're going to let you off the hook.
[54:48] Speaker 4: Until Monday, after Monday morning, after we're done talking about
[54:52] Speaker 4: the Sunday games, we're talking about y'all all the way
[54:55] Speaker 4: up and through that kickoff of that game, and don't
[54:58] Speaker 4: you dare get into a unique end-of-half or end-of-game situation.
[55:03] Speaker 1: How about just don't have no delay a game, period?
[55:09] Speaker 4: They in such a lose-lose.
[55:11] Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
[55:12] Speaker 2: They in such a lose-lose. Also, throwing this out here,
[55:16] Speaker 2: We talked about the Chiefs playing the Chargers. I believe
[55:22] Speaker 2: that the Chargers have a bye week after this game.
[55:26] Speaker 2: So if they go to 0-6, somebody's got to get fired, right?
[55:32] Speaker 2: Like Mike McDaniel is going to be over there with
[55:34] Speaker 2: y'all at the desk, right?
[55:37] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he would fit in.
[55:38] Speaker 4: He seemed like he got some things to say. Yeah,
[55:41] Speaker 4: something's going to have to change, man.
[55:42] Speaker 2: By the way, people in our job, I get this,
[55:44] Speaker 2: where they don't feel good about calling for somebody's job.
[55:48] Speaker 1: Getting fired is not the problem with getting fired. Yeah.
[55:52] Speaker 1: It's not about the job. It's about the check.
[55:56] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[55:58] Speaker 1: A job with no check? There's a word for that.
[56:01] Speaker 2: A check with no job?
[56:03] Speaker 1: There's a word for that. Fun employment. Been there. Love it.
[56:09] Speaker 1: That first month after you got your check but you
[56:11] Speaker 1: ain't got to go to work is great. It's when
[56:13] Speaker 1: that check don't come. Now we got a problem. So
[56:16] Speaker 1: I ain't got no shame about this. If they go
[56:18] Speaker 1: to 0-6, somebody's going to lose their job.
[56:22] Speaker 4: I mean, it's definitely not going to be the quarterback.
[56:25] Speaker 1: I assume.
[56:26] Speaker 4: The head coach, they will wait. So it sounds like
[56:30] Speaker 4: you're right. It's going to be Mike.
[56:34] Speaker 1: I'm just saying, somebody has to answer for this. On
[56:38] Speaker 1: some level, someone has to answer. I can't believe how
[56:42] Speaker 1: bad they are.
[56:44] Speaker 4: I don't know how a team with expectations, too. Walking
[56:48] Speaker 4: into the building every week. It's got to be impossible.
[56:52] Speaker 4: It's so demoralizing. I remember what it felt like to
[56:56] Speaker 4: walk in after one loss. It would feel terrible. Maybe
[56:59] Speaker 4: you get used to it. You probably do get used
[57:01] Speaker 4: to it to some extent, but you have some expectations
[57:04] Speaker 4: that you're just going to kick off the year with
[57:07] Speaker 4: six in a row and no answers.
[57:08] Speaker 1: It's not like we're waiting for something to change. They
[57:11] Speaker 1: are currently three games behind their entire division. Everybody has
[57:19] Speaker 1: three more wins than they do including the Raiders. Three
[57:26] Speaker 1: games behind the whole division. And they about to drop
[57:32] Speaker 1: their sixth one. Well, how about this?
[57:35] Speaker 2: It ain't going to get no better, because I don't
[57:37] Speaker 2: know if you've seen the rest of that schedule. Rams, Texans, Ravens, Jets, Patriots, Bucs, Raiders, 49ers, Dolphins, Chiefs, Broncos.
[57:47] Speaker 1: I'm counting a couple of wins there.
[57:49] Speaker 2: And all the teams that we say we think they're
[57:51] Speaker 2: going to beat, they just as sorry as them.
[57:53] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[57:54] Speaker 1: There's no hope, man.
[57:56] Speaker 4: They'll steal one at some point that we don't expect
[57:58] Speaker 4: them to win. They better hope it's this week. Everybody
[58:01] Speaker 4: playing right now.
[58:02] Speaker 1: This is Super Bowl, man. This is to keep everybody
[58:04] Speaker 1: in the building.
[58:05] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[58:05] Speaker 1: I think I'm going to go watch that game with Nick.
[58:08] Speaker 2: The only way that I would call the Chargers winning
[58:11] Speaker 2: that game is it would just be funny.
[58:13] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[58:14] Speaker 2: That's the only thing I got. If that happened, it
[58:17] Speaker 2: would be funny to watch, but I would leave halfway
[58:20] Speaker 2: through the fourth quarter. I don't like to be there
[58:24] Speaker 2: when it go real bad.
[58:27] Speaker 1: I just never forget.
[58:28] Speaker 2: I sent Nick's wife a text during the Super Bowl
[58:31] Speaker 2: in February 2021 where the Buccaneers blew the Chiefs' doors off,
[58:37] Speaker 2: and I was like, is he okay?
[58:39] Speaker 1: And the answer I got was no.
[58:43] Speaker 4: That was it. oh you got no more color she
[58:46] Speaker 4: ain't got time for color.
[58:48] Speaker 2: No no no no no i think she was too
[58:50] Speaker 2: busy just trying not to hear that noise damn like
[58:53] Speaker 2: that's a house that's a house full of people that
[58:55] Speaker 2: aren't nearly as into this.
[58:59] Speaker 4: Yeah i mean sometimes i miss the highs of it
[59:04] Speaker 4: don't miss the lows of it Nah, nah.
[59:06] Speaker 1: I ain't going to lie to you, old boy.
[59:08] Speaker 2: I can't tell you enough about how much better I
[59:10] Speaker 2: felt with America's team. The America's team started the game
[59:13] Speaker 2: off real slow against the Cardinals last week.
[59:15] Speaker 1: I was salty.
[59:16] Speaker 2: I was sending people to Bosco. Man, they started putting
[59:18] Speaker 2: up them points. Can I just say it? Can I
[59:21] Speaker 2: just throw it out here? Just saying for right now.
[59:26] Speaker 2: Jared Goff.
[59:28] Speaker 1: Putting up MVP numbers.
[59:30] Speaker 4: Yes.
[59:31] Speaker 2: He's putting up MVP numbers. I know a lot of
[59:33] Speaker 2: y'all out here talking about Brock Purdy. Look what Jerry
[59:36] Speaker 2: Goff got to work with over there.
[59:38] Speaker 1: Jerry Goff, we got to go out here and score
[59:39] Speaker 1: 50 points a game just to have an opportunity. Brock
[59:41] Speaker 1: Purdy ain't got to worry about that. Jerry Goff got
[59:43] Speaker 1: the weight of the world on his shoulders. He throw
[59:47] Speaker 1: the ball to J-Mo. You never know what that boy
[59:49] Speaker 1: might do. He might put that thing on the ground
[59:52] Speaker 1: and try to hump it. We've seen him do it before.
[59:56] Speaker 1: He might go on the sideline and go check his
[59:58] Speaker 1: cow sheet. For all I know, it's on the board.
[1:00:01] Speaker 1: Anything can happen.
[1:00:03] Speaker 4: Did I tell you I had the distinct pleasure of
[1:00:05] Speaker 4: introducing that clip to Randy Moss?
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: No, you did not. Yeah. What did Randy Moss think
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: upon seeing that?
[1:00:11] Speaker 4: He just started cracking up. Because it started because Jamar
[1:00:18] Speaker 4: Chase was doing that celebration and And I was saying
[1:00:23] Speaker 4: what I thought it was, which is what it actually was.
[1:00:26] Speaker 4: And other people were saying other things. And then the
[1:00:28] Speaker 4: next week, he got hit with a fine. And I
[1:00:30] Speaker 4: was like, yeah.
[1:00:31] Speaker 1: I was like, at least it wasn't as bad as
[1:00:33] Speaker 1: with J-Mo, because I assume everybody remembered that. He was like,
[1:00:35] Speaker 1: what did J-Mo do?
[1:00:38] Speaker 4: Like, watch this.
[1:00:38] Speaker 1: What was so funny about the J-Mo clip was I
[1:00:41] Speaker 1: forget it. I think it was Laporta that was right
[1:00:43] Speaker 1: there and saw it. It was like, oh, no. He's
[1:00:47] Speaker 1: going to start humping the ground. Like, imagine watching another
[1:00:51] Speaker 1: grown man about to hump something and you have no
[1:00:54] Speaker 1: other choice but to wrap your arms around him. Yeah.
[1:00:59] Speaker 4: Like, oh, no.
[1:01:00] Speaker 2: Better be than the flow. Hey, man, stakes is high. But, hell,
[1:01:06] Speaker 2: Dominique Fosworth. Check him out on the Dominique Fosworth Show.
