[0:05] Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A wave original.

[0:19] Speaker 1: a hater. Also, guys, we have... Merch, 20% off through
[0:25] Speaker 1: December 1st. You can get yours at therighttimebomani.com, therighttimebomani.com. We
[0:33] Speaker 1: got a lot of NFL to get to, but first,
[0:36] Speaker 1: I don't even know if right now what I'm about
[0:40] Speaker 1: to discuss actually qualifies as being the NFL. Like, it's
[0:46] Speaker 1: obviously a football topic, but I'm looking at the way
[0:49] Speaker 1: that people are charged up about this. It's way bigger
[0:53] Speaker 1: than football, apparently. It's way deeper than rap. Shador Mania
[1:00] Speaker 1: has officially arrived. Ladies and gentlemen, it is here. Kevin
[1:08] Speaker 1: Stefanski's worst nightmare just took place. And this is what
[1:13] Speaker 1: the worst nightmare was, okay? It was a combination of factors.
[1:20] Speaker 1: Shador Sanders plays. He does not play especially well, but
[1:30] Speaker 1: he has a couple of big plays, a couple of
[1:33] Speaker 1: good plays, a statistical line that looks decent, and the
[1:41] Speaker 1: Browns win. All worst case scenario. Now you're asking yourself,
[1:47] Speaker 1: why are these things the worst case scenario for Kevin Stefanski?
[1:52] Speaker 1: Number one, this team is bad and probably long run
[1:58] Speaker 1: is better by being worse. So like every win, I'm
[2:02] Speaker 1: not exactly sure how they do in terms of him
[2:04] Speaker 1: saving his job or whatever, but they're not necessarily best
[2:06] Speaker 1: for the Cleveland Browns. And I think Stefanski, I mean,
[2:09] Speaker 1: on one level, he's swinging for his job. On the
[2:10] Speaker 1: other hand, the man told him he's going to get
[2:12] Speaker 1: to keep it, in which case, be sorry and let
[2:14] Speaker 1: me get another quarterback. Okay, cool, right? That's not what
[2:18] Speaker 1: you want. But that combination of factors... that I just
[2:22] Speaker 1: gave you means that we are officially in the midst
[2:29] Speaker 1: of Shador mania.
[2:31] Speaker 2: It is here.
[2:33] Speaker 1: This is, I don't want to call it the same
[2:37] Speaker 1: as Tebow mania, but I will say this about Tebow mania,
[2:40] Speaker 1: and I think that this is an important distinction to
[2:42] Speaker 1: make where I say that we're kind of in a
[2:44] Speaker 1: similar stage, okay? Tebow mania did not start with his
[2:50] Speaker 1: first start. It started with the first game that he
[2:52] Speaker 1: went into, which was different than what happened with Shador
[2:55] Speaker 1: because the first game that Shador went into is because
[2:57] Speaker 1: Dylan Gabriel got hurt. No, the Broncos were getting their
[3:01] Speaker 1: asses kicked. I think it was by the Chargers. And
[3:04] Speaker 1: John Fox said, fine. He took Kyle Orton out the
[3:06] Speaker 1: game and he put Tebow in. Now, I am firmly
[3:09] Speaker 1: convinced that the reason that John Fox did that was like, watch,
[3:13] Speaker 1: this will shut him up. right? Let me put this
[3:15] Speaker 1: bum out here and watch what happens. And what happened
[3:18] Speaker 1: was the Broncos started to mount this furious comeback and
[3:22] Speaker 1: they didn't win the game, but they came back and
[3:24] Speaker 1: they got close enough that it made it virtually impossible
[3:27] Speaker 1: for them to not start Tebow the next game. And
[3:31] Speaker 1: they did start Tebow the next game. I am comparing
[3:35] Speaker 1: that Tebow performance to this first one for Shador. Cause look,
[3:39] Speaker 1: the first one that Shador got into, like, come on, man,
[3:41] Speaker 1: there was no chance there, right? I'm comparing this to
[3:45] Speaker 1: that one because it wasn't like Tebow was great in
[3:48] Speaker 1: the course of that game that I described, but they
[3:50] Speaker 1: moved down the field and they got some things done, right?
[3:53] Speaker 1: Shador in this game had like the big pass to
[3:55] Speaker 1: Bond where he rolled right through off the back leg,
[3:57] Speaker 1: got the ball down there. Okay, cool. But he got
[3:59] Speaker 1: a 66-yard touchdown where he threw the ball about 18 inches.
[4:02] Speaker 2: Right, exactly. A lot of what the Colorado stuff looked like.
[4:06] Speaker 2: And just to compare, in Tebow's first win, he went
[4:08] Speaker 2: 13 for 27, you know, competing for 161 yards. two
[4:13] Speaker 2: touchdowns to win the game, 18-15 in overtime.
[4:16] Speaker 1: Yes, and that was against Miami, right?
[4:18] Speaker 3: Right.
[4:18] Speaker 1: Okay.
[4:19] Speaker 2: So you were right in the Chargers. He comes in
[4:21] Speaker 2: the Chargers game. They lose by five. Yes.
[4:24] Speaker 1: Right.
[4:25] Speaker 2: So he starts the next week and they win it
[4:27] Speaker 2: over time.
[4:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, but he was bad. Like, I think, I don't
[4:29] Speaker 1: remember if I've told you the story that I did
[4:31] Speaker 1: around the horn that day right now, after that game,
[4:33] Speaker 1: I hit a guy up that played for the dolphins
[4:35] Speaker 1: now who is now a coach. And I asked him,
[4:37] Speaker 1: I said, so what'd you say on Tebow? And he said,
[4:39] Speaker 1: matter of fact, worst quarterback I've ever seen.
[4:42] Speaker 4: Right.
[4:42] Speaker 1: He was like, Hey, we lost the game, but that's
[4:45] Speaker 1: the worst quarterback that I've ever seen. Okay. Which by
[4:48] Speaker 1: the way, Shador Sanders is not the worst quarterback I've
[4:50] Speaker 1: ever seen. That's an important distinction also in this. However,
[4:54] Speaker 1: I do a round the horn the next day. I
[4:56] Speaker 1: believe it's me, Woody Page, Bob Ryan, and Tim Kalashov.
[5:02] Speaker 1: And we go around, you know, in the circle on
[5:04] Speaker 1: the conference call where everybody gives their thoughts. And everybody, like,
[5:09] Speaker 1: you know, Woody, obviously he was in Denver, so he
[5:11] Speaker 1: had his one vantage on it. Like, you know, he's like, hey,
[5:13] Speaker 1: we got a little something, got the people going. The
[5:16] Speaker 1: vibes off of Bob Ryan and Kalashov were kind of,
[5:22] Speaker 1: you know, Every white man deserve a chance. And these
[5:25] Speaker 1: are guys I like, I want to be clear. Like, hey,
[5:28] Speaker 1: they weren't doing this from a standpoint of racism, but
[5:31] Speaker 1: this is the world we live in, right? They were
[5:33] Speaker 1: just kind of like, yeah, you know, I thought it
[5:34] Speaker 1: was bad, but eh, not so bad. And it got
[5:36] Speaker 1: to me, brother, I was flabbergasted. Gob smacked, I tell you.
[5:41] Speaker 1: I couldn't believe what I was hearing because I was
[5:43] Speaker 1: just like, It's the worst quarterback I've ever seen. Like,
[5:49] Speaker 1: I couldn't believe anybody saw anything other than the worst
[5:51] Speaker 1: quarterback I'd ever seen. Oh, my God. And that led
[5:53] Speaker 1: to a good two, three months of them putting me
[5:56] Speaker 1: on TV on Monday to lose my goddamn mind on
[5:59] Speaker 1: TV in front of God and everybody. I just couldn't
[6:01] Speaker 1: take it. Like, you just find all kinds of clips
[6:03] Speaker 1: with me where my head in my hands just can't
[6:06] Speaker 1: believe what's going on here. Like, and they keep winning.
[6:09] Speaker 1: It just keeps going. I don't... I can't understand what
[6:16] Speaker 1: is going on here, right? And I was fighting against it.
[6:20] Speaker 1: I felt like I was fighting against it. You know what, man?
[6:24] Speaker 1: I think I'm going to say this to Shador, to
[6:28] Speaker 1: the fans, everybody. I'm going to say this perhaps on
[6:32] Speaker 1: behalf of the people in my line of work, man. Man,
[6:36] Speaker 1: let's just get this money. You know what I'm saying?
[6:40] Speaker 1: Can like, let's just get this money. Is there a
[6:42] Speaker 1: peaceful way for us to get this money right? Because
[6:45] Speaker 1: this really gets the people going. I will never understand
[6:49] Speaker 1: how Shador Sanders of all people became inspirational to folks.
[6:53] Speaker 1: That is the most mind blowing part about this is
[6:56] Speaker 1: the idea that this is a feel good story. I
[6:59] Speaker 1: don't get that. I don't get the investment that people
[7:03] Speaker 1: have in him. None of this makes any sense, but
[7:05] Speaker 1: it's here. We there. We might as well just get
[7:09] Speaker 1: this money.
[7:10] Speaker 2: I think a lot of it comes from people feel–
[7:14] Speaker 2: I think the Shador Hive feels aggrieved that he got–
[7:19] Speaker 2: of the perceived lack in his draft stock and the
[7:23] Speaker 2: fact that he went in the fifth round. And then
[7:25] Speaker 2: I think he has become one of the most shocking
[7:30] Speaker 2: underdog stories I've ever seen.
[7:33] Speaker 1: There's a difference between.
[7:35] Speaker 2: The shocking perception of an underdog.
[7:37] Speaker 4: Yes, yes.
[7:38] Speaker 1: And I want you to stay on screen with me
[7:39] Speaker 1: because I want to know if you feel where I'm
[7:42] Speaker 1: coming from on this, okay? There is a difference between
[7:47] Speaker 1: being an underdog and not being that good.
[7:51] Speaker 3: Correct.
[7:52] Speaker 1: No, like, being an underdog... in the way that we
[7:56] Speaker 1: talk about this, is like, oh, he's not actually that...
[8:01] Speaker 1: I don't even know how to.
[8:03] Speaker 2: Brock Purdy is an underdog.
[8:06] Speaker 1: Yes. I think that's maybe a better way to put it.
[8:09] Speaker 5: Um.
[8:10] Speaker 1: I mean, Cam Ward is an underdog. I think that's
[8:13] Speaker 1: the distinction that I'm looking for here. Cam Ward, former, what,
[8:17] Speaker 1: zero-star recruit for West Columbia, Texas, who goes to Incarnate
[8:21] Speaker 1: Word and then goes to Wazoo and then winds up
[8:24] Speaker 1: at Miami and becomes a Heisman finalist and becomes the
[8:26] Speaker 1: number one pick in the draft. That is an underdog.
[8:31] Speaker 1: This guy who has had a whole slew of advantages
[8:37] Speaker 1: and the greatest advantage at all, a father with the
[8:40] Speaker 1: power to be able to become a coach at all
[8:42] Speaker 1: these places to shepherd you through to get to the
[8:45] Speaker 1: point where you get to the NFL. This is not
[8:48] Speaker 1: an underdog story, right? They don't make rich underdogs, right?
[8:53] Speaker 1: I don't think Tom Brady is not an underdog story.
[8:56] Speaker 1: What the fuck in Michigan? All right.
[8:58] Speaker 2: Is Josh Allen an underdog to you?
[9:03] Speaker 1: He's a late bloomer.
[9:05] Speaker 2: Okay, that's a good distinction.
[9:08] Speaker 1: Right, he's a late bloomer, but it's hard to be
[9:10] Speaker 1: that big, that strong, that fast, that everything.
[9:15] Speaker 2: Is Baker Mayfield an underdog?
[9:18] Speaker 1: Kinda, yeah.
[9:20] Speaker 2: Here's my favorite, and I apologize if this makes you upset.
[9:24] Speaker 2: Do you know where I'm going with this?
[9:26] Speaker 1: I do not.
[9:27] Speaker 2: Is Jalen Hurts an underdog?
[9:30] Speaker 1: Huh. Another interesting case. I mean, he's another very highly
[9:36] Speaker 1: touted recruit.
[9:37] Speaker 2: Who went to Alabama.
[9:39] Speaker 1: And Oklahoma. Yeah. He just has a ceiling on his talents.
[9:44] Speaker 3: Right?
[9:44] Speaker 1: I think that's where this gets to be fun is
[9:46] Speaker 1: an underdog apparently is whatever you want it to be.
[9:49] Speaker 2: Right.
[9:50] Speaker 1: We can turn anybody to underdog. Brock Purdy, underdog. Brock
[9:53] Speaker 1: Purdy was an all-conference quarterback in college.
[9:56] Speaker 2: People made Steph Curry out to be an underdog in
[9:58] Speaker 2: the LeBron versus LeBron. James and talk about you know
[10:01] Speaker 2: father with lots of advantages growing up you know.
[10:04] Speaker 1: Yeah but but the thing I would say about Steph
[10:06] Speaker 1: in terms of that where he becomes an interesting underdog
[10:08] Speaker 1: case is none he was so small when he got
[10:11] Speaker 1: to college right like if you watch the college version
[10:13] Speaker 1: of Steph Curry Yeah, yeah, yeah. You see, and he
[10:17] Speaker 1: went to Davidson. He did not play high level AAU basketball.
[10:21] Speaker 1: So there was access to certain things, but the application
[10:24] Speaker 1: was very, very interesting. But yeah, you, let me tell
[10:26] Speaker 1: you the best example of this. I don't know if
[10:28] Speaker 1: you remember this, but it was in 2010. The first
[10:31] Speaker 1: year that Calipari was at Kentucky. And Kentucky played against
[10:36] Speaker 1: Cornell University. In the sweet 16. Right. The argument was
[10:40] Speaker 1: that Cornell was this team of underdogs playing against a
[10:43] Speaker 1: team with Eric Bledsoe, who, as I recall, spent a
[10:46] Speaker 1: significant portion of his high school life sleeping in a car. Yes.
[10:50] Speaker 1: But he was a five star recruit. Right. And it's like,
[10:53] Speaker 1: who's the underdog? The Ivy League kids or John Wall,
[10:59] Speaker 1: who where I met his high school coach, it was like, yeah,
[11:01] Speaker 1: you go to John's house right now. You'll see his
[11:03] Speaker 1: mama hanging clothes on the line. You know what I mean? Like,
[11:07] Speaker 1: who's really the underdog here? Right. You know, and it
[11:09] Speaker 1: gets weird. It's difficult for me to put Shador as
[11:13] Speaker 1: being an underdog in part because clearly a lot of
[11:16] Speaker 1: people are betting on him. There's clearly a lot of
[11:20] Speaker 1: people that are on this. I think it's great for
[11:23] Speaker 1: him that he got a start in the NFL and
[11:25] Speaker 1: that that start went as well as it did. I
[11:27] Speaker 1: think it worked out well for him that he got
[11:29] Speaker 1: to play against some bums and it made everybody so
[11:32] Speaker 1: mad with the Raiders that they lost to the Browns
[11:35] Speaker 1: that Chip Kelly got fired.
[11:37] Speaker 4: Right.
[11:38] Speaker 1: Yeah. It was like, hey, man, dude, that's the first
[11:41] Speaker 1: Raiders game I think I've watched like for real because
[11:43] Speaker 1: I watched a lot of that game.
[11:46] Speaker 2: Hey, man.
[11:47] Speaker 1: Geno Smith about to lose his mind up in here,
[11:51] Speaker 1: up in here.
[11:51] Speaker 2: They're bad.
[11:53] Speaker 1: They're bad. I mean, the Browns sacked them 10 times.
[11:59] Speaker 2: I mean, it's just like the kind of sacks where
[12:01] Speaker 2: you like, you know, we're not exactly, you know, football
[12:04] Speaker 2: exes or geniuses. And it was like, is that guy
[12:08] Speaker 2: supposed to block Miles Garrett by himself? Is this person
[12:13] Speaker 2: I've never heard of going to take on Miles Garrett?
[12:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
[12:17] Speaker 2: Who's about to break the sack record before December 1st.
[12:20] Speaker 1: Like, oh, so you're guarding Jokic.
[12:23] Speaker 2: Exactly.
[12:23] Speaker 1: You're 6'4. Like, how is this happening? And so, good
[12:29] Speaker 1: for Shador. I mean, he did not play poorly, right?
[12:33] Speaker 1: You don't blame somebody. He got the touchdown pass. It's
[12:36] Speaker 1: the touchdown pass. It's what it is. But it's going
[12:37] Speaker 1: to look better on paper than it did in application.
[12:40] Speaker 1: He looked like he made some pretty good throws. Like,
[12:42] Speaker 1: he absolutely should be starting next week. See, that's the
[12:45] Speaker 1: other thing for Stefanski. it makes it very difficult to
[12:48] Speaker 1: defend the way that you have dealt with Shador and
[12:52] Speaker 1: the way Dylan Gabriel has played after that game. Like
[12:55] Speaker 1: no matter what is going to happen when he goes
[12:57] Speaker 1: back and watches the film and he can probably parse
[13:00] Speaker 1: and point out more errors than the lay person is
[13:02] Speaker 1: going to be able to under those circumstances. But you
[13:04] Speaker 1: have a hard time explaining to people why it was
[13:06] Speaker 1: that you kept Hawaii five, nine out there and didn't
[13:09] Speaker 1: play Shador after that game. It's going to be tough, right?
[13:12] Speaker 1: Cause I don't really see it to be perfectly honest. Like,
[13:16] Speaker 1: He said he's going to wait and see who's going
[13:17] Speaker 1: to be the starter next week. No, no, no, no, no.
[13:19] Speaker 1: Let me tell you right now, Shador's going to be
[13:20] Speaker 1: your starter next week. I mean, I could be wrong here,
[13:24] Speaker 1: but if Shador is inspiring the people in the streets
[13:27] Speaker 1: like this, I bet he got some people in the
[13:28] Speaker 1: locker room there, and they just won that game, and
[13:31] Speaker 1: you're going to have to look at them and explain
[13:32] Speaker 1: why you're going to go back to Dylan Gabriel. No, sir,
[13:35] Speaker 1: that's not going to happen. Shador's going to be your
[13:36] Speaker 1: starter next week.
[13:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, football players aren't interested in this tanking.
[13:39] Speaker 1: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.
[13:43] Speaker 2: And then here's the thing. Like if, if he goes
[13:45] Speaker 2: out there and beats a Bob solid defense, I mean,
[13:47] Speaker 2: they've got a bunch of injuries on that 49ers side
[13:49] Speaker 2: of the ball, but that's playing a real defensive coordinator
[13:52] Speaker 2: and they're, you know, they're fighting for playoff position.
[13:55] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[13:56] Speaker 2: So like, you know, this is this is another real
[13:58] Speaker 2: test to see what he's got.
[13:59] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[14:00] Speaker 3: No, no, no.
[14:00] Speaker 1: He's got you got to play him. Like that was
[14:02] Speaker 1: the thing that happened with Tebow after they had that
[14:04] Speaker 1: comeback against the Chargers. You got to put him out here,
[14:08] Speaker 1: whether you like it or not. You're going to need
[14:09] Speaker 1: to make peace with this.
[14:10] Speaker 4: Right.
[14:10] Speaker 1: Because us over here, we're going to be getting this
[14:13] Speaker 1: money and we're going to be getting this money by
[14:15] Speaker 1: talking about this a lot. And I swear, I don't
[14:19] Speaker 1: know if it's just the Internet giving it to me.
[14:22] Speaker 1: People is not trying to hear about Joe Dillon Gabriel
[14:24] Speaker 1: right now, brother. Just telling you right now, they're not
[14:27] Speaker 1: trying to hear it. I will tell you, however, what
[14:30] Speaker 1: I'm not trying to hear, which is another word that
[14:32] Speaker 1: Shador Sanders has to actually say out of his own mouth. Ryan,
[14:37] Speaker 1: somebody needs to explain to him that all these things
[14:39] Speaker 1: you just need to stop. I'm trying to show these
[14:42] Speaker 1: people that I'm what they've been waiting for. Just play
[14:45] Speaker 1: a couple of games, big dawg. Bring it down. We
[14:49] Speaker 1: was talking about how I grew up in a 30,000-square-foot house,
[14:52] Speaker 1: but my daddy took me to the hood to get
[14:55] Speaker 1: that dog in me. Son, you play in five-figure watches. Like,
[15:03] Speaker 1: this is not... Like, if I... I mean, let me
[15:05] Speaker 1: tell you, he took you over there to get that
[15:07] Speaker 1: dog in you, but he didn't leave you there.
[15:09] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[15:10] Speaker 1: I bet he kept his eye on you. Like, I don't... Don't... Hey, man, just...
[15:17] Speaker 1: Just keep going. Just, just, just. I'm here to help
[15:21] Speaker 1: him right now in this. Just keep going. You got
[15:27] Speaker 1: a good start here. You might be able to start
[15:29] Speaker 1: for the rest of the year, right? You might be
[15:31] Speaker 1: able to. You might position yourself well for the quarterback
[15:35] Speaker 1: controversy that's going to happen next year, right? Like, just
[15:37] Speaker 1: try to keep Dylan Gabriel off the field.
[15:39] Speaker 2: And you get to play against the Titans.
[15:42] Speaker 1: You do.
[15:42] Speaker 2: The Bears.
[15:43] Speaker 1: Yes.
[15:45] Speaker 2: You know, oh, God.
[15:46] Speaker 1: Ugh.
[15:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got to play the Bills and the Steelers.
[15:50] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[15:51] Speaker 2: And then he gets a free one against the Bengals
[15:53] Speaker 2: when they're all, you know.
[15:55] Speaker 1: He does.
[15:55] Speaker 4: He does.
[15:56] Speaker 2: At the end of the year.
[15:57] Speaker 1: Be cool, baby. Be cool. That's all I'm saying. If
[16:00] Speaker 1: you can be as cool about this as you can,
[16:02] Speaker 1: this can work out for you. I think it's best
[16:04] Speaker 1: for him to leave Cleveland if he wants to play somewhere. Like,
[16:06] Speaker 1: I think you're positioning yourself for a future that is
[16:08] Speaker 1: not for the team for which you play right now.
[16:11] Speaker 1: I also know that Cleveland is consistently a cluster of
[16:15] Speaker 1: There's no telling what Jimmy Haslam thought after that game.
[16:18] Speaker 1: There's no telling what Matthew Barry, I mean, not Matthew Barry,
[16:21] Speaker 1: Andrew Barry. Big difference between the two. Andrew Barry made
[16:26] Speaker 1: the trade to go get him. Right? So there's some
[16:29] Speaker 1: level of belief that's there. Can you imagine the group text,
[16:32] Speaker 1: the conference call, whatever it is between the Cleveland Browns
[16:35] Speaker 1: brain trust that they're having about this?
[16:39] Speaker 2: And speaking of places where he might end up, he
[16:41] Speaker 2: might be, he might be looking for places in Vegas.
[16:45] Speaker 1: He, could but they need to go get a real
[16:47] Speaker 1: live quarterback too.
[16:49] Speaker 2: But people are gonna people might think he's a real
[16:51] Speaker 2: live quarterback after that game.
[16:52] Speaker 1: They they might they might but i don't know if
[16:54] Speaker 1: pete carroll is one of those people i think pete
[16:56] Speaker 1: carroll is going to go back and watch that film
[16:58] Speaker 1: and curse out his own guys yeah right and so
[17:02] Speaker 1: let me tell you buddy bob was at a bar
[17:04] Speaker 1: he said um oh yeah yeah yeah they got a
[17:07] Speaker 1: bind my good buddy cory urban you know he's a
[17:08] Speaker 1: browns fan for reasons that don't make any sense that's
[17:11] Speaker 1: incredible He said last week there was, and this is
[17:14] Speaker 1: in Toronto, but he said last week there were seven
[17:16] Speaker 1: people at the Browns backer bar. Today it was absolutely packed.
[17:19] Speaker 1: Two 80 plus year old men came out for the
[17:21] Speaker 1: first time this year because they said it was the
[17:23] Speaker 1: first time they felt hope in a while. It don't matter.
[17:28] Speaker 1: The football part barely matters, guys. Like, let's get this money.
[17:35] Speaker 1: Shador Mania, baby. Let's print out these t-shirts. Let's just
[17:39] Speaker 1: ride this out. I don't even know if I need
[17:41] Speaker 1: to have opinions about this anymore. I've stated how I
[17:44] Speaker 1: feel about him.
[17:45] Speaker 2: Let's just have some fun.
[17:47] Speaker 1: I'm going to give him credit when he plays well.
[17:49] Speaker 1: I'm going to be honest when he does it. But
[17:50] Speaker 1: in the meantime, tween time, the best kind of fun,
[17:53] Speaker 1: the kind of fun where the black people and the
[17:55] Speaker 1: white people might start fighting. And by the way, it's
[17:59] Speaker 1: not just the black people and the white people. It's
[18:01] Speaker 1: the black people and the black people who send me
[18:03] Speaker 1: texts about it because they don't want to talk about
[18:05] Speaker 1: it in front of people because it's getting just a
[18:08] Speaker 1: little bit dicey out here in these streets. Nobody wants
[18:12] Speaker 1: to be called a rope. You understand what I'm saying?
[18:14] Speaker 5: Right?
[18:15] Speaker 1: Nobody wants to just be like, oh, you be ruffling
[18:17] Speaker 1: through trash in the dumpster. You feel what I'm saying?
[18:21] Speaker 1: Nobody wants that. But let's just get this money, man.
[18:26] Speaker 1: Let's just get this money because otherwise... It's going to
[18:29] Speaker 1: drive me crazy. Speaking of being driven crazy, I'm so
[18:38] Speaker 1: glad I don't root for the Eagles.
[18:41] Speaker 2: My gosh.
[18:42] Speaker 1: That was embarrassing.
[18:43] Speaker 4: Yes.
[18:44] Speaker 1: Because I watched, it was 21-0. And it just looked
[18:47] Speaker 1: like they was waxing them. And so I went to
[18:49] Speaker 1: go check out what was going on with the Browns.
[18:51] Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like I knew I needed
[18:52] Speaker 1: to have some eyeballs of what was happening with that game.
[18:56] Speaker 1: I come back. it's 21 to 14. The Eagles suddenly
[19:01] Speaker 1: can't move the ball anymore. The Cowboys are chipping away.
[19:05] Speaker 1: I saw Aubrey miss a field goal. I'm like, oh,
[19:08] Speaker 1: it really ain't Cowboys day. And they won. Like, I mean,
[19:12] Speaker 1: the Eagles had some like, what did they muff a punt?
[19:14] Speaker 1: I want to say there was a Saquon Barkley fumble. Right.
[19:17] Speaker 2: It was, it was, It was snatching defeat from the
[19:22] Speaker 2: jaws of victory in a way that I haven't seen.
[19:24] Speaker 2: I mean, they haven't blown a 21-point lead in over
[19:27] Speaker 2: 25 years. Their offense just turns off in a way
[19:34] Speaker 2: that I can't remember seeing from a contender.
[19:36] Speaker 1: They were squared up against the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the
[19:39] Speaker 1: Make-A-Wish Foundation is like, hey, make a wish, and the
[19:42] Speaker 1: Eagles were like, nah, we good. We straight. Couldn't do it. A.J.
[19:48] Speaker 1: Brown got his 100 yards receiving. I guess that was
[19:51] Speaker 1: good for him. But nah, bruh. Nah, bruh. And Jalen Hurts.
[19:57] Speaker 2: Text I sent you at 518 p.m. Eastern time.
[20:00] Speaker 1: Yes.
[20:01] Speaker 2: Cowboys defense is making A.J. Brown and Devontae Smith's dreams
[20:06] Speaker 2: come true.
[20:07] Speaker 1: Yes, they were.
[20:07] Speaker 2: And then.
[20:09] Speaker 1: Not really so much after that. And I want to
[20:13] Speaker 1: make sure that I get this right. By the way,
[20:15] Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts had 289 yards. They were really handling business
[20:20] Speaker 1: in the first half, but they could not run the ball.
[20:23] Speaker 1: And that is, look, the fundamental story about this team
[20:26] Speaker 1: is that if you want to play the way that
[20:27] Speaker 1: they are playing, you got to be able to run
[20:28] Speaker 1: the ball. Like all the receiver guys, they all got
[20:31] Speaker 1: their money. You know what I'm saying? I mean, they
[20:33] Speaker 1: got their opportunities. They got their stuff. Let me go
[20:36] Speaker 1: find the quote, that uh that that hurts gabe or
[20:41] Speaker 1: it was the headline that i saw on espn.com and
[20:45] Speaker 1: yeah the phrase that jumps out let me control f
[20:49] Speaker 1: and make sure i get to it because i'm like
[20:52] Speaker 1: oh buddy you can't do that here we go quote
[20:55] Speaker 1: we've got to own this one let it light a
[20:58] Speaker 1: fire in us as a team and stay together and
[21:01] Speaker 1: move forward brother brother brother brother brother I don't think
[21:05] Speaker 1: you need to be talking to people right now about
[21:06] Speaker 1: lighting a fire because they will, they want to light
[21:10] Speaker 1: you on fire. Even though this wasn't your fault in
[21:12] Speaker 1: this game per se, I don't think nobody wants to
[21:16] Speaker 1: hear that from you right now. Like everything that we're
[21:19] Speaker 1: hearing at every turn is about how people don't want
[21:22] Speaker 1: to hear this from him.
[21:25] Speaker 2: Right. He can't be the messenger.
[21:28] Speaker 1: He doesn't want to. And see the thing about Philly,
[21:30] Speaker 1: Philly's interesting. Um, I remember when the NAACP wrote that
[21:37] Speaker 1: letter about Donovan McNabb telling him to get it going.
[21:40] Speaker 1: I was like, damn, the NAACP?
[21:43] Speaker 2: I did not know about this.
[21:45] Speaker 1: Oh, yes. I forget what. I think the criticism was
[21:48] Speaker 1: that he doesn't run enough. They were just like, yo,
[21:50] Speaker 1: you need to tap into your roots, basically, which is
[21:52] Speaker 1: a little shaky and get out there. But yeah, the
[21:54] Speaker 1: NAACP of Philadelphia put out something about Donovan McNabb trying
[21:58] Speaker 1: to light a fire under him. You looking it up?
[22:00] Speaker 1: You seeing it? You see what I'm talking about?
[22:02] Speaker 4: Yes.
[22:02] Speaker 1: Yes, this really. And be your old people sometimes. And
[22:07] Speaker 1: this is the thing about Philadelphia and black quarterbacks or
[22:10] Speaker 1: black coaches or whatever it is. It's the ones from
[22:12] Speaker 1: out of town that'll put on their cape for you.
[22:15] Speaker 1: The local ones turn to white folks when things are
[22:18] Speaker 1: not going well because they want to win just like
[22:20] Speaker 1: white folks do, right? And that's Philadelphia for you. We
[22:26] Speaker 1: will not be here to save you, brother, in Philadelphia
[22:30] Speaker 1: when this goes down. That's what I'm telling you. And
[22:34] Speaker 1: Here's how crazy the Eagles season is also, Rod. I
[22:36] Speaker 1: told you this yesterday. The Eagles have the biggest divisional
[22:41] Speaker 1: lead in the league. This is after losing a game
[22:44] Speaker 1: to the second place team.
[22:45] Speaker 3: Correct.
[22:46] Speaker 1: They are by far going to win their division. Nobody
[22:49] Speaker 1: else can say this.
[22:52] Speaker 2: Right. They had the one seed until the Rams had
[22:55] Speaker 2: that beat down last night, too.
[22:56] Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
[22:57] Speaker 3: Yes.
[22:58] Speaker 1: But this is the second time in three years that–
[23:01] Speaker 1: and by the way, they're 8-3. Right.
[23:02] Speaker 3: Right.
[23:03] Speaker 1: Let me be careful and clear. But this is the
[23:06] Speaker 1: second time in three years that they've had a team
[23:08] Speaker 1: where it just felt like it ain't right.
[23:10] Speaker 4: Right.
[23:10] Speaker 1: Now, the last time they had a suffered from a
[23:12] Speaker 1: stunning epic collapse in 2023. Of course, they just came
[23:16] Speaker 1: behind that and won the Super Bowl the year after that.
[23:19] Speaker 2: They went to the Super Bowl, had the epic collapse
[23:22] Speaker 2: where they played against the Bucs, and it looks like
[23:24] Speaker 2: they all quit out there.
[23:25] Speaker 5: Yes.
[23:25] Speaker 2: They won the Super Bowl and then whatever we're getting
[23:28] Speaker 2: this year. And I mean, they still got to play.
[23:30] Speaker 2: The Bears, the Chargers, and the Bills. They do not
[23:33] Speaker 2: have an easy road towards the next two months.
[23:38] Speaker 1: Ryan, what a weird everything. Do you know Nick Sirianni's
[23:41] Speaker 1: career record as a head coach?
[23:43] Speaker 2: I think it's something like 46-21.
[23:44] Speaker 3: 56-22.
[23:45] Speaker 2: You see all.
[23:46] Speaker 1: The stats where it's like he's got like a.
[23:51] Speaker 2: John Madden-esque record. Yes. If you just look at the numbers,
[24:00] Speaker 2: he's one of the greatest. He's 56-22 with a Super Bowl.
[24:03] Speaker 1: Yes.
[24:05] Speaker 2: It's the same start of the career that Jimmy Johnson had.
[24:07] Speaker 1: Yes.
[24:07] Speaker 2: Without the bad first year.
[24:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, with two trips to the Super Bowl.
[24:10] Speaker 3: Right.
[24:11] Speaker 1: Correct me if I'm wrong, the first trip, didn't it
[24:14] Speaker 1: go to overtime or something? It wasn't overtime.
[24:16] Speaker 2: No, they kicked the field goal right at the gun.
[24:19] Speaker 1: Yes, yes. But like... And none of us believe, dog.
[24:24] Speaker 1: None of us believe. None of us see it. Like,
[24:27] Speaker 1: none of this. None of this. And I just watched that.
[24:29] Speaker 1: And the Cowboys look really thrilled to move their way
[24:32] Speaker 1: up to, what is it, 5-5-1? Is that where they
[24:36] Speaker 1: have gotten themselves to?
[24:37] Speaker 2: Talk about let's get this money. Cowboys just staying relevant
[24:41] Speaker 2: right before they go play the Chiefs on Thursday.
[24:43] Speaker 1: Let me tell you, ain't nobody saying let's get this
[24:45] Speaker 1: money quite like that boy George Pickens. George Pickens looked
[24:51] Speaker 1: amazing in that game.
[24:53] Speaker 2: They have to keep him.
[24:56] Speaker 1: Well, look, Jerry didn't get him to not keep him, right?
[24:59] Speaker 1: The question is, what language are we going to use
[25:02] Speaker 1: in this paperwork to protect us from the invariable regression
[25:06] Speaker 1: that's going to come once he has already got his money?
[25:08] Speaker 2: And it's also like the classic Jerry Jones of he
[25:12] Speaker 2: is a very great player. big time receiver he is
[25:16] Speaker 2: also going into a contract extension that we are going
[25:19] Speaker 2: to delay until probably august 25th that is correct and
[25:23] Speaker 2: he is a ticking time bomb of being unhappy before
[25:27] Speaker 2: and after he gets.
[25:28] Speaker 1: This money or just being weird right correct just just
[25:32] Speaker 1: being one of the two man what what a weird
[25:35] Speaker 1: sunday of football so i'm looking over here at this
[25:37] Speaker 1: and let me just the chiefs who looked terrible in
[25:41] Speaker 1: that first half against Indianapolis.
[25:43] Speaker 2: Looked terrible in the third quarter, too.
[25:44] Speaker 1: Looked terrible. Somehow managed to get that. And look, Mahomes
[25:47] Speaker 1: doesn't look good. Like, I don't know what's going on,
[25:50] Speaker 1: but he specifically looked bad. This was not just a
[25:53] Speaker 1: matter of, oh, he's Patrick Mahomes, but the team is da-da-da.
[25:55] Speaker 1: He looked like a big part of the problem in
[25:58] Speaker 1: the course of that game. But Indianapolis, man, the Chiefs said,
[26:04] Speaker 1: beat us, Daniel Jones. And Daniel Jones was like, No,
[26:08] Speaker 1: thank you. I'd love to, but just don't think I'm
[26:13] Speaker 1: going to be able to get that done for you fellas.
[26:14] Speaker 4: Right.
[26:16] Speaker 1: What other weird old game did we have in the
[26:18] Speaker 1: course of this? The lions.
[26:24] Speaker 2: Yes.
[26:27] Speaker 1: Brother, brother, brother. That was not. Hey, Dan. No, no, no.
[26:33] Speaker 1: It ain't going to be that. Mike Kafka, apparently he
[26:34] Speaker 1: didn't want to be the coach of the Giants because
[26:36] Speaker 1: he lost it with that one. I didn't think it
[26:37] Speaker 1: was a ridiculous idea to be up three and to
[26:40] Speaker 1: go for it short. And I think Greg Olson has
[26:42] Speaker 1: talked about this with the change in the kickoff rules
[26:45] Speaker 1: that you're giving them back the ball on the 35.
[26:49] Speaker 1: In all likelihood, if you kick it off, you might
[26:51] Speaker 1: as well.
[26:51] Speaker 2: Yeah, if you go up six, kicking the field goal
[26:54] Speaker 2: to go up six does nothing for you.
[26:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you might as well try to
[26:56] Speaker 1: win the game. And they did not. And look, the
[26:58] Speaker 1: Lions tied it up on like a 59-yard field goal.
[27:01] Speaker 1: I don't care if it's indoors. I don't care if
[27:04] Speaker 1: it's 20-25.
[27:05] Speaker 2: That's never a gimme.
[27:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, no, no, no, no.
[27:10] Speaker 1: Over here, those of us who root for America's team,
[27:13] Speaker 1: we're like, no, no, no, no, no. By the way, Jameis,
[27:17] Speaker 1: see you, big dog. Yeah. See you, big dog. And hey,
[27:20] Speaker 1: it's vibes. It's making everybody feel good. It's vibes. Tampa Bay,
[27:25] Speaker 1: they got a problem because I don't know how long
[27:29] Speaker 1: it's going to be. Like, Baker, it's the other arm
[27:33] Speaker 1: that he hurt. He's got a sprained left shoulder. But
[27:38] Speaker 1: he down bad. And correct me if I'm wrong, Ryan,
[27:41] Speaker 1: they are now tied at the top of that division?
[27:45] Speaker 2: I believe, let's just take this.
[27:46] Speaker 1: The Carolina Panthers, much to my surprise.
[27:49] Speaker 2: Are 6-5. Yeah, they're both 6-5.
[27:52] Speaker 1: Who knew?
[27:53] Speaker 2: Both with negative point differentials.
[27:56] Speaker 1: Yes, yes. By the way, the Eagles' point differential is
[27:58] Speaker 1: something like plus 33, being 8-3.
[28:00] Speaker 2: Yeah, point 30, exactly.
[28:04] Speaker 1: That's right, because they lost. They lost the game by
[28:06] Speaker 1: three points. They are low key, just not really that good. Right.
[28:13] Speaker 1: But they're not bad. Yeah. Like they literally defy explanation.
[28:20] Speaker 1: I don't have any answers for you on what to
[28:22] Speaker 1: say they are or they are not. But you can't
[28:27] Speaker 1: live like that. You know, I think that's just the
[28:29] Speaker 1: way that I look at it. Look at this situation.
[28:31] Speaker 1: You can't live like that. The Bears, another squeaker win.
[28:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, eight and three, negative three-point differential.
[28:37] Speaker 1: And Caleb Williams with another. Good enough. Like our guy
[28:41] Speaker 1: Nate Tice wrote a very interesting article for Yahoo about
[28:44] Speaker 1: how the Bears offense has actually been explosive and Caleb
[28:47] Speaker 1: Williams has actually been really good. But nothing in these
[28:50] Speaker 1: numbers says that to me right here. But like his QBR,
[28:54] Speaker 1: the advanced QBR one, is very high for the game.
[28:58] Speaker 1: He had three touchdowns. He had no interceptions. He only
[29:00] Speaker 1: had seven yards in attempt. I don't know how you
[29:02] Speaker 1: reconcile all of these ideas, but they all come together.
[29:07] Speaker 1: And we are hurtling toward November, December to remember because
[29:11] Speaker 1: I got no idea what's going to happen. I have
[29:14] Speaker 1: no idea what it means that your record is whatever
[29:16] Speaker 1: your record is. I have no gauge on what anybody
[29:20] Speaker 1: truly is in this league right now, who's actually good,
[29:24] Speaker 1: who's not. None of it makes any sense to me.
[29:28] Speaker 1: None at all. But hey guys, this is what we have.
[29:31] Speaker 1: This is where it's going. It should be a lot
[29:35] Speaker 1: of fun. And hopefully Shador Mania doesn't just make it
[29:39] Speaker 1: all strange. This show is sponsored by BetterHelp. Shorter days

[31:32] Speaker 2: All right, two quick stories from the weekend. Lane Kiffin's
[31:35] Speaker 2: decision is kind of what hovers over college football. Ross
[31:41] Speaker 2: Dellinger reported that LSU is preparing nearly a $ 90 billion offer.
[31:46] Speaker 2: He's also still considering Florida. The Ole Miss athletic director
[31:49] Speaker 2: came out and said they will make an announcement on
[31:51] Speaker 2: his future after the Egg Bowl on Friday. Bo, what
[31:53] Speaker 2: are your thoughts?
[31:54] Speaker 1: Just messy. He's just messy. Like, everything about him messy.
[31:59] Speaker 1: And I got a question for Ole Miss where they're like,
[32:02] Speaker 1: we're going to announce his decision after the Egg Bowl.
[32:06] Speaker 1: How do you know you're going to announce the decision
[32:07] Speaker 1: after the Egg Bowl? You're dealing with Lane. Like, do
[32:10] Speaker 1: you guys have a decision that you're going to make?
[32:13] Speaker 1: Are you going to fire Lane Kiffin after the Egg Bowl?
[32:16] Speaker 1: Because that's the only way that you get to say
[32:19] Speaker 1: that you will make a decision. What, did Lane make
[32:22] Speaker 1: an agreement with you That this is what we're going
[32:24] Speaker 1: to do?
[32:25] Speaker 2: A week is a long time in college football.
[32:28] Speaker 1: Especially for somebody who doesn't seem to think stuff out.
[32:33] Speaker 1: Forget about college football. A week is a long time
[32:36] Speaker 1: in the world of Lane Kiffin. What are we doing here?
[32:42] Speaker 1: What is this in total? And I got to say,
[32:46] Speaker 1: this is where it gets interesting for me. I'm not
[32:50] Speaker 1: that old-fashioned, but I totally understand the people who are
[32:53] Speaker 1: raising the question of how could you do this when
[32:56] Speaker 1: you have a team that's going to the playoff, right?
[32:59] Speaker 1: How can you do this with the best team in
[33:02] Speaker 1: the history of the school? And I think that this
[33:04] Speaker 1: is different than, for example, Brian Kelly being the coach
[33:08] Speaker 1: at Cincinnati and then leaving to go to Notre Dame
[33:12] Speaker 1: before it's all done, right? This is one that you
[33:17] Speaker 1: kind of ride out. Like you got a team that
[33:19] Speaker 1: could really make some noise here and you may never
[33:23] Speaker 1: get back to this place again knowing you. You kind
[33:26] Speaker 1: of got to wait till next year, right? Like that's
[33:30] Speaker 1: my thought in this is that this is not necessarily
[33:33] Speaker 1: the time for you to make that move. But there
[33:35] Speaker 1: are two jobs that are available that we have all
[33:37] Speaker 1: thought were excellent to have. I'll just make the point
[33:40] Speaker 1: that You at the job you have had the last
[33:44] Speaker 1: couple of years have looked better than the coaches at
[33:47] Speaker 1: those jobs. And say what you want about Brian Kelly.
[33:49] Speaker 1: Brian Kelly is not a bad coach. Maybe you could
[33:52] Speaker 1: say he did not work it out. But Brian Kelly,
[33:53] Speaker 1: I keep saying people get mad at me, but he's
[33:55] Speaker 1: a Hall of Fame level coach. You could probably get
[33:58] Speaker 1: it done where you are. Like this isn't, this has
[34:00] Speaker 1: the great potential to make Lane Kiffin look really, really,
[34:04] Speaker 1: really bad. And by the way, and I don't know
[34:07] Speaker 1: if the committee would do this, but if they wanted to,
[34:10] Speaker 1: if Lane left, the committee could leave Ole Miss out
[34:13] Speaker 1: of there.
[34:14] Speaker 2: If it's close.
[34:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, just like, hey, you're not the same team that
[34:17] Speaker 1: you were. And the problem that Lane has is Lane
[34:21] Speaker 1: can't do this like Urban Meyer after the 0-4 season
[34:24] Speaker 1: or other examples of guys that we've seen who get
[34:26] Speaker 1: to work out the job. And that's not going to
[34:28] Speaker 1: work making a move within the conference. Right, right. That's not,
[34:33] Speaker 1: nobody's going to let you do a commercial. Like Ole
[34:35] Speaker 1: Miss is not letting you do a commercial for Florida
[34:37] Speaker 1: or LSU for the rest of this, right? I am
[34:41] Speaker 1: just reminded at every turn just how much I hate
[34:44] Speaker 1: this person that I don't know. I can't stand him.
[34:49] Speaker 1: Everything about this, I hate. He's the only one that
[34:54] Speaker 1: would just lean into how messy this is at every turn.
[34:58] Speaker 1: And it didn't have to be this messy. It doesn't.
[35:03] Speaker 1: To me, you'll know how messy he is if he
[35:08] Speaker 1: goes to fucking LSU. And Ryan, no disrespect, but you
[35:12] Speaker 1: know how messy that situation is right now. Like you
[35:15] Speaker 1: add his mess to your mess. I don't think you're
[35:19] Speaker 1: going to like how that goes.
[35:22] Speaker 2: I can't imagine. There is no situation where this goes great.
[35:28] Speaker 2: We are going to make an announcement on this day
[35:31] Speaker 2: is going to make a lot of people look bad.
[35:34] Speaker 2: It's almost like we had this very famous example about
[35:36] Speaker 2: 15 years ago. We announced this very famous decision. And
[35:41] Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin is the only person in the universe who'd
[35:43] Speaker 2: be like, that's an awesome idea. Let's do that.
[35:51] Speaker 1: Right.
[35:52] Speaker 2: That went well for everyone involved. Let's do it exactly
[35:56] Speaker 2: that way.
[35:57] Speaker 1: We have all this noise surrounding this when he is
[36:01] Speaker 1: so obviously the spiritual successor to Steve Spurrier. If you're
[36:04] Speaker 1: going to do this, Florida is the place for you
[36:06] Speaker 1: to go. There's no question about this. And then Spencer
[36:10] Speaker 1: gets to deal with him. And that'll be fun to watch.
[36:14] Speaker 1: I can't stand this movie.
[36:15] Speaker 2: So your three options are he stays at Ole Miss,
[36:18] Speaker 2: which you've stayed your feelings about that university. Yes. Spencer
[36:23] Speaker 2: has to deal with him.
[36:24] Speaker 4: Correct.
[36:25] Speaker 2: Or I have to deal with him.
[36:26] Speaker 1: You and Van, yeah.
[36:27] Speaker 2: You and Van have to deal with him.
[36:29] Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys are going to– this is– I don't
[36:32] Speaker 1: know if anybody's going to be happy with the way
[36:34] Speaker 1: this goes in the end. Like they'll be happy at first.
[36:37] Speaker 1: But I don't know how happy they'll be in the end.
[36:39] Speaker 1: And by the way, all these criticisms I have of
[36:40] Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin, it ain't that easy to go find another
[36:43] Speaker 1: coach like him. He just gets to be forever young.
[36:45] Speaker 1: He's 50 years old, and we still think he's just
[36:47] Speaker 1: this close.
[36:47] Speaker 2: He's just this close. And how is Ole Miss going
[36:51] Speaker 2: to feel? You're going to do this every year? You're
[36:54] Speaker 2: going to get dragged along?
[36:55] Speaker 1: And so that's the other issue, right? He's clearly– people don't–
[37:00] Speaker 1: that Ole Miss job is weird. It should be better.
[37:02] Speaker 1: It's not better. We all know why. Right? Like, I
[37:06] Speaker 1: think that's the best way to put it. Should be better,
[37:08] Speaker 1: is not better. We all know why. But you're right.
[37:11] Speaker 1: They're going to drag. It's going to be like this
[37:14] Speaker 1: all the time. I would just also like to point
[37:16] Speaker 1: out that for all this hullabaloo, they've beaten one good
[37:20] Speaker 1: team this year. And that was Oklahoma. That's the only
[37:27] Speaker 1: good win they've got.
[37:30] Speaker 5: All right.
[37:30] Speaker 2: One quick story. The internet went ablaze on Friday as
[37:35] Speaker 2: a Mayor-elect Joran Mondami for New York City went to
[37:38] Speaker 2: go meet with President Trump and seems to have won
[37:42] Speaker 2: him over. Let's take a quick listen.
[37:44] Speaker 1: Clarifying your answer to Stephen Nelson, he asked about your
[37:48] Speaker 1: comment calling the president a fascist. And your answer was,
[37:53] Speaker 1: with President Trump and I, we've been clear about our
[37:55] Speaker 1: positions and our views. Are you affirming that you think.
[37:58] Speaker 3: President Trump is a fascist?
[38:00] Speaker 2: I've spoken about. That's okay. You can just say yes.
[38:03] Speaker 1: Okay.
[38:04] Speaker 4: It's easier.
[38:05] Speaker 1: It's easier than explaining it. I don't mind. Yo! That
[38:14] Speaker 1: was an amazing Friday. Thursday, Trump is like, the communist
[38:19] Speaker 1: is coming. By the end of it, he's like, my son. Right?
[38:26] Speaker 1: He likes him so much more than he likes J.D. Vance.
[38:30] Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
[38:31] Speaker 1: He's going to tell J.D. Vance to ask Zoran how
[38:35] Speaker 1: he keep his beard like.
[38:38] Speaker 3: That.
[38:38] Speaker 1: That was top to bottom, the wildest thing. Now, I
[38:41] Speaker 1: think people were a little too surprised at the fact
[38:44] Speaker 1: that they could figure something out. They have a thing
[38:47] Speaker 1: in common. And look, no matter what Zoran is saying
[38:49] Speaker 1: in public about a lot of these establishment Democrats right now, okay?
[38:54] Speaker 1: Zoran and Trump got one major thing in common. The
[38:58] Speaker 1: people that don't like Zoran also don't like Trump. Like
[39:04] Speaker 1: they have a Venn diagram overlap of the people with
[39:09] Speaker 1: whom it doesn't work that well. Okay. Now clearly Zoran
[39:12] Speaker 1: right now is on a honey greater than vinegar tour, right?
[39:16] Speaker 1: Like he's saying nice things about Hakeem Jeffries. He made
[39:18] Speaker 1: the move in there with Trump. And by the way,
[39:20] Speaker 1: didn't back down off anything he ever said about Trump,
[39:23] Speaker 1: but I think he went in there and was like, hey, man,
[39:25] Speaker 1: I'm from Queens. You from Queens. These the people that...
[39:30] Speaker 1: hate you. These the people that hate me. Right. Kind
[39:33] Speaker 1: of like that scene in The Wire where Avon and
[39:36] Speaker 1: Marlo meet in jail and Avon is talking about, you know,
[39:40] Speaker 1: but it's West Side. Fuck these East Side bitches. Right. Right.
[39:45] Speaker 1: There's the common ground, right? You West Side, I'm West
[39:48] Speaker 1: Side in this case, you know, Queens. But you Queens,
[39:51] Speaker 1: I'm Queens. You don't like Hakeem Jeffries, I don't like
[39:54] Speaker 1: Hakeem Jeffries. You don't like a whole list of them.
[39:57] Speaker 1: Think about this, man. They played Zoran like he was Arafat.
[40:01] Speaker 1: He showed up to meet with the president and they
[40:02] Speaker 1: took a vote to be like, we the Congress say
[40:04] Speaker 1: fuck Zoran. and everything he stands for, right? Like they
[40:08] Speaker 1: took a vote to condemn social, who has this kind
[40:12] Speaker 1: of time, right? Like, what are you doing? So he
[40:15] Speaker 1: goes in there, he meets with Trump. And I think Trump,
[40:17] Speaker 1: he's like, yo, I'm a man of the people. You're
[40:20] Speaker 1: a man of the people. You and I talked about this.
[40:22] Speaker 1: Trump likes people who present well on television. Like he
[40:25] Speaker 1: has a real game recognized game on that. He sees
[40:28] Speaker 1: that about Zoran. Zoran's like, why would I come in
[40:31] Speaker 1: here and fight this man? You know what that'll get us?
[40:33] Speaker 1: The National Guard. That's what that'll get us. No, I'm
[40:36] Speaker 1: gonna go down there and talk to him and be like, look, man,
[40:39] Speaker 1: you say you down for the people. I'm down for
[40:41] Speaker 1: the people. Let's get down for the people. And Trump
[40:43] Speaker 1: is like, get a load of this guy. Okay, I
[40:47] Speaker 1: see what time it is. And here we are. How
[40:54] Speaker 1: long would this last though, Ryan?
[40:55] Speaker 2: That's my question. These honeymoon phases are always quick, but
[40:59] Speaker 2: Trump is consistently impressed by a few things. Being good
[41:02] Speaker 2: on TV and telling him and finding nice things to
[41:07] Speaker 2: say about Trump.
[41:08] Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes.
[41:09] Speaker 1: Like I think people misunderstand something. It's a war going
[41:12] Speaker 1: on outside. No man is safe. But you do not,
[41:15] Speaker 1: there's no value to Zoran to go in there and
[41:17] Speaker 1: like raise in hell with Trump in there. No, Trump
[41:21] Speaker 1: is easy to game up, right? He is very, we've
[41:25] Speaker 1: seen his playbook for eight years and change, right? And
[41:28] Speaker 1: he just went in there.
[41:29] Speaker 2: I mean, this is as much the apprentice playbook as
[41:32] Speaker 2: it is the presidency playbook.
[41:33] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. So he just went in there and I've
[41:35] Speaker 1: never seen more people just stunned and shocked. Zoran got game, man.
[41:39] Speaker 1: He goes in there with all these people. Now, of course,
[41:41] Speaker 1: Zoran's in this place and this happens with everybody that's
[41:44] Speaker 1: like him. It was going to be the case whether
[41:46] Speaker 1: it be Bernie Sanders or anybody else, which is, You
[41:50] Speaker 1: can't take on all the fights at one time. And
[41:53] Speaker 1: what that means as a result is now this is
[41:55] Speaker 1: going to get a little bit more towards center because
[41:57] Speaker 1: it has to, right? Zoran represents a base of people
[42:02] Speaker 1: who by and large never get to win anything, right?
[42:05] Speaker 1: So you largely are idealistic about everything that you feel,
[42:09] Speaker 1: but that's not how this government actually works. So once
[42:12] Speaker 1: you get on, now you've got to do some of
[42:16] Speaker 1: the things, right? And now we're seeing that, right? The
[42:21] Speaker 1: thing that's going on with Chiyose, who wants to run
[42:24] Speaker 1: against Hakeem Jeffries. And look, that's complicated for me because
[42:27] Speaker 1: that's combat jackson, right? that's what it's going to be
[42:31] Speaker 1: first and foremost to me. We'll get to the rest
[42:33] Speaker 1: of it. But the democratic socialists, they, they own little click, right?
[42:37] Speaker 1: They got somebody who from the outside, try to come
[42:40] Speaker 1: in and use their network to go run up on
[42:42] Speaker 1: this other guy. And Zoran's in there and was like, Hey,
[42:45] Speaker 1: I don't know if we can get away with this
[42:46] Speaker 1: one right now, dog. I don't know if we could,
[42:48] Speaker 1: you know, play. It's going to get really, really weird.
[42:51] Speaker 1: But if you're the Democrats, Donald Trump is getting with
[42:55] Speaker 1: the wave. Y'all are calling the wave a comment, right? Democrats,
[43:00] Speaker 1: the only people I've ever seen be like, hey, man,
[43:02] Speaker 1: it's a wave. We don't want no parts of that.
[43:06] Speaker 2: Yeah, I was waving away.
[43:07] Speaker 1: Hell no. Even Trump was like, yo, get a load
[43:10] Speaker 1: of the wave. Where's my board? Damn, man. I see
[43:14] Speaker 1: what the big deal is now. Couldn't believe it. Wildest
[43:17] Speaker 1: thing I'd ever heard. I'm all over the place on this.
[43:19] Speaker 1: We'll talk more about it later, but it's going to
[43:22] Speaker 1: be a very interesting first two months of Zoran in
[43:25] Speaker 1: New York City. And I think You're not right. You
[43:28] Speaker 1: said it on here before. You said it already. Job one,
[43:32] Speaker 1: keep the National Guard out. Because if you go talk
[43:34] Speaker 1: to people about what's going down in Chicago right now,
[43:37] Speaker 1: it is insanity what is happening there. I think Zorah's like, hey, man,
[43:43] Speaker 1: let me give it a try first. Like, let's see.
[43:45] Speaker 1: He's like, I got this. Trust me. Watch. Watch what
[43:50] Speaker 1: I do. Watch what I do.
[43:58] Speaker 2: All right, Bo, voicemail line's open. We got an appearance
[44:03] Speaker 2: from one of the greatest hits. Let's take a listen.
[44:05] Speaker 4: Hey, this is DJ Mike Hitman. I got a question.
[44:10] Speaker 5: Since I'm on the right time with Beaumont Jones, Beaumont,
[44:14] Speaker 5: I'm putting my name in the candidate running for president
[44:17] Speaker 5: for 2029. I'm making everything right again. I'm going to
[44:22] Speaker 5: make America better and understand it.
[44:26] Speaker 4: I'm bringing smoking back for men can smoke in the
[44:28] Speaker 4: bar again. Men, if you want to smoke in the bar,
[44:31] Speaker 4: I'm bringing it back. Vote for me. DJ Mike here, man.
[44:35] Speaker 4: Bring the smoking back.
[44:37] Speaker 5: Now, it's your choice if you want to smoke and die,
[44:39] Speaker 5: but I'm bringing it back. Women, you are allowed to
[44:42] Speaker 5: wear short dresses again and.
[44:45] Speaker 4: Have some dresses again.
[44:46] Speaker 5: Ladies, if you vote for me, I'm bringing everything back legalized.
[44:51] Speaker 5: I'm running for president for 2029. I wish I had
[44:55] Speaker 5: my jerry curls. I would really be flat, but.
[44:58] Speaker 4: I don't have no jerry curls. I just got grease.
[45:02] Speaker 5: I'm taking the baby oil and rubbing it back on
[45:04] Speaker 5: my head again because I'm running for president. I'm bringing
[45:07] Speaker 5: everything back. Everything will be legalized the right way. Fellas,
[45:10] Speaker 5: you can grab a Cadillac with the TV back in it. Okay, ladies,
[45:16] Speaker 5: you can go back shopping again and spend other people money,
[45:19] Speaker 5: even your own man or your mistress.
[45:22] Speaker 4: It don't matter. I'm bringing everything back the right way. Bo,
[45:26] Speaker 4: you need to hit me up.
[45:27] Speaker 5: You need to get your producer, all y'all be my candidates.
[45:31] Speaker 5: Stop putting money in my pot. I'm going to run
[45:33] Speaker 5: for president for 2029. I'm going to be the first
[45:38] Speaker 5: president on the West Side of Chicago stepping in party.
[45:42] Speaker 5: We're going to bring everything back and make it right.
[45:45] Speaker 5: If we can make we legal, we can make.
[45:48] Speaker 4: Everything else legal. And Nancy Reagan will agree with me.
[45:52] Speaker 4: Have a good one, Bo.
[45:56] Speaker 1: Are we going to have a special election in 2029, Ryan?
[46:02] Speaker 2: Trump, Zoran, DJ Mike Hitman?
[46:05] Speaker 1: Hey, man, let me tell you something. You get a Zoran,
[46:07] Speaker 1: Mike Hitman ticket, that will be unstoppable. I am dead
[46:13] Speaker 1: ass when I say that. How do we get Mike
[46:15] Speaker 1: and Zoran in the same room? Somebody call Pablo. He
[46:19] Speaker 1: out here kicking it with Zoran. He can help make
[46:20] Speaker 1: that happen.
[46:22] Speaker 2: But wait, there's more.
[46:25] Speaker 4: Hey, Bo, this is DJ Mike here, man. I got
[46:27] Speaker 4: a question. I need to be on your show. Just
[46:30] Speaker 4: give me a minute.
[46:31] Speaker 5: You know, I take 15, 20, 30 minutes. Give me
[46:35] Speaker 5: an hour. I want to talk about these boys spending
[46:39] Speaker 5: the other people's money gambling.
[46:41] Speaker 4: You know, I know the whole detail. I can go.
[46:44] Speaker 5: Behind the scenes and give you the whole thing. They
[46:47] Speaker 5: give you that news report and stuff. But the man
[46:49] Speaker 5: on the street telling me different things, Bo. You need
[46:52] Speaker 5: to get me on the show. And I'm going to
[46:54] Speaker 5: tell you, it ain't going to be nice. These boys
[46:58] Speaker 5: is gambling in debt, spending other people money. I know
[47:03] Speaker 5: the real story. I know why they're doing it. First
[47:06] Speaker 5: of all, the NBA must ain't paying these boys. Or
[47:10] Speaker 5: must ain't giving them a good pension.
[47:12] Speaker 4: Come on, boys, let's do this. We got a new commissioner.
[47:15] Speaker 4: Soft as a whistle. He's soft. I think I should
[47:19] Speaker 4: run for commissioner. But, boy, hit me up. And let
[47:22] Speaker 4: me come on the show. And I got some stories
[47:24] Speaker 4: to tell you, too, Bo. I got some great stories
[47:26] Speaker 4: in Chicago. And when I went to Mexico. I got
[47:30] Speaker 4: some great stories. You need to hit me up, Bo.
[47:32] Speaker 4: Told you, Bo. Have a good one.
[47:35] Speaker 1: I will say this. Mike Hitman is NBA commissioner. That's
[47:37] Speaker 1: what we need. We need an NBA commissioner in a
[47:40] Speaker 1: fur coat.
[47:43] Speaker 2: That would change some things. All right. Here's our last one.
[47:46] Speaker 3: Hey, Bo. It's Gary. I'm here in Atlanta. Long-time listener,
[47:51] Speaker 3: huge fan. The episode where you were talking about Nico
[47:56] Speaker 3: Harrison putting Nicola Jokic and Drew Holiday in the same tier,
[48:00] Speaker 3: it got me thinking about a time where I had
[48:03] Speaker 3: a buddy of mine. He kind of did the same thing,
[48:06] Speaker 3: but it was with football. So back when we were
[48:13] Speaker 3: working together part-time, he went to high school with Jake Fromm.
[48:19] Speaker 3: So we're all around the same age. And when Jake
[48:22] Speaker 3: Fromm got drafted, whatever year it was, fourth round, fifth round,
[48:28] Speaker 3: I remember texting him and I was like, oh man,
[48:31] Speaker 3: you know, this is great. You know, I'm glad he
[48:32] Speaker 3: got drafted. Hopefully he makes the team. And Bo, this
[48:37] Speaker 3: man proceeded to tell me, and I quote, I don't know, man.
[48:43] Speaker 3: I think he's going to beat out Josh Allen for
[48:45] Speaker 3: that number one QB spot. Yeah. He really said that. And, oh,
[48:52] Speaker 3: he meant it. Like, he really, really thought Jake Fromm
[48:56] Speaker 3: was better than Josh Allen. I wish I was picking
[49:01] Speaker 3: this up. And you see where Jake is now selling insurance,
[49:08] Speaker 3: which is fitting given his name. And, yeah, I just
[49:13] Speaker 3: wanted to let you know that story because To this day,
[49:18] Speaker 3: I still can't believe he really said that to me
[49:22] Speaker 3: and to add a little sprinkle on top this is
[49:26] Speaker 3: the same man who is also a diehard UGA fan
[49:32] Speaker 3: and leading into the SEC championship the year LSU won
[49:36] Speaker 3: the whole title he was telling me A huge fan. Yeah, man.
[49:42] Speaker 3: I think we got a good chance to beat y'all today.
[49:45] Speaker 3: I think we're going to win. And Bo, with no hesitation,
[49:49] Speaker 3: because we were on the phone, I told this man,
[49:52] Speaker 3: I said, I'm not afraid of Jake Fromm. I'm not.
[49:59] Speaker 3: And you can ask Ryan about that stat line, because
[50:03] Speaker 3: Ryan probably remembers it. So, yeah. He, uh, He loves
[50:10] Speaker 3: Jake Fromm. That's his boy, but he did not want
[50:14] Speaker 3: to come to the realization that he wasn't that good because,
[50:20] Speaker 3: like I said, he's selling insurance now. So, yeah. Thanks
[50:25] Speaker 3: for everything. Love the show. Kill with the good work.
[50:30] Speaker 1: I appreciate it. Now, to be fair to Jake Fromm
[50:32] Speaker 1: and your Jake Fromm loving friend, when Jake Fromm joined
[50:36] Speaker 1: the Bills, it was right after Josh Allen was throwing
[50:38] Speaker 1: Hail Mary's square bodies in the playoffs. I like we
[50:42] Speaker 1: we hadn't had a proof of concept yet on Josh
[50:44] Speaker 1: Allen at that time. But, oh, hey, man, we all
[50:47] Speaker 1: got to have we all we all got to be
[50:48] Speaker 1: a fan of somebody. Right.
[50:49] Speaker 2: To be fair, I mean, the person he might have
[50:51] Speaker 2: talked to was Kirby Smart. So that's.
[50:54] Speaker 1: Totally on the board. That's the guy that loved him
[50:57] Speaker 1: through Jake Fromm. Good gracious. My thing is, Kirby is
[51:01] Speaker 1: still an element of Saban 1.0 to Kirby, right? Keep
[51:05] Speaker 1: it close. Run the ball. Quarterback, don't mess nothing up.
