Bottom Line: From Bilozerske on the Donbas front, soldiers reach Dobropillia only on foot under drone escort, and some refuse to head back so they do not face the deadly crossing again, prolonging their time in hell. The garrison remains Ukrainian, with only a few russian infiltrators possibly left after a breakthrough attempt. Maps drawn from a distance confuse infiltration with control and overlook drones and the occupiers’ fragile hold on Pokrovsk. Dobropillia’s resistance shields the fortress belt’s western flank and supports Ukrainian pressure at Lyman, Kupiansk–Luhansk and Komar. Staying in Hell Rather Than Facing the Crossing Again.
