[0:05] Speaker 1: I tell you what, two more questions and we'll end
[0:07] Speaker 1: on a high because I've brought the conversation down. Rocket League, explain.
[0:12] Speaker 2: This is the greatest video game of all time. I
[0:16] Speaker 2: love playing a football video game where the ball isn't
[0:19] Speaker 2: tied to your foot because I'm not a baby.
[0:23] Speaker 3: And I can.
[0:24] Speaker 2: Control the ball with a car because I'm not a baby.
[0:28] Speaker 1: But they're bright coloured and the ball is massive like
[0:30] Speaker 1: a toddler's.
[0:31] Speaker 2: It's amazing, yeah.
[0:33] Speaker 3: For adults, by the way.
[0:34] Speaker 2: It's for adults, that game.
[0:38] Speaker 1: I mean, I've tried it. I'm not shitting on it, but, like.
[0:41] Speaker 3: I'm so good at that game, though. I'm so good
[0:43] Speaker 3: at it.
[0:43] Speaker 1: Well, I played it for the first time with my brothers.
[0:46] Speaker 1: I visited them in Australia after not seeing them for, like,
[0:48] Speaker 1: four or five years, and I could kick their asses
[0:50] Speaker 1: at any game at the time. Now, when I see them... Like,
[0:53] Speaker 1: when I went there, sorry, and they introduced me to
[0:55] Speaker 1: Rocket League, I'm like, what the fuck is this? And
[0:57] Speaker 1: I'm playing it, and they are killing me. Killing me
[1:00] Speaker 1: at the game. And I'm like, Cars can't kick footballs.
[1:07] Speaker 1: When I was playing football as a kid, you were told,
[1:09] Speaker 1: stay away from the cars. You can't kick footballs near cars.
[1:15] Speaker 1: You can't do it.
[1:16] Speaker 2: I'm a rebel, and I've always been taught to rebel
[1:19] Speaker 2: against received wisdom, and I'm doing that on a nightly
[1:22] Speaker 2: basis now.
[1:23] Speaker 1: Do you still play?
[1:25] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:25] Speaker 1: Have you not been tempted by any of the more
[1:28] Speaker 1: contemporary battle royales or any of the... I forget what
[1:31] Speaker 1: it's called. It's like the fighting game with Scooby, with
[1:34] Speaker 1: Shaggy and Batman in it.
[1:35] Speaker 2: I don't care about guns. I don't want to do
[1:37] Speaker 2: guns or fighting, really. I just like cars and football.
[1:40] Speaker 2: I just like car football.
[1:41] Speaker 1: When have you ever seen Shaggy or Batman with a gun?
[1:45] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[1:46] Speaker 2: I assumed that there was, you know, there were going
[1:48] Speaker 2: to be guns in the game as you were talking about.
[1:50] Speaker 2: You seem like a violent sort of guy, so I
[1:52] Speaker 2: don't know.
[1:55] Speaker 1: I seem like a violent sort of guy.
[1:58] Speaker 3: I'm just saying things that way.
[2:00] Speaker 1: See, I tell you all perpetually I'm a gangster, and
[2:03] Speaker 1: none of you listen.
[2:04] Speaker 3: None of you listen.
[2:07] Speaker 1: Anyways, I was curious, because I've tried it. I just can't.
[2:14] Speaker 1: But you seem to really enjoy it. You've referenced it
[2:16] Speaker 1: in a couple of your videos. You're wasting your last question.
[2:20] Speaker 1: I'll answer that one if you want. That would be
[2:24] Speaker 1: the last one. One last question. And I expect the
[2:28] Speaker 1: best answer yet out of you. Which is... Do you
[2:34] Speaker 1: know what? I'm not going to ask a joke and
[2:35] Speaker 1: I'll ask a serious one. What do you want your
[2:37] Speaker 1: legacy to be then?
[2:38] Speaker 3: You've started from a position of.
[2:43] Speaker 1: you didn't get a leg up in youtube there was
[2:45] Speaker 1: no one that gave you backing initially it's your idea
[2:47] Speaker 1: it's your baby and you've grown it into this this
[2:50] Speaker 1: wonderful thing and like you're in the midst of it
[2:53] Speaker 1: now but like everything there's going to come a point
[2:56] Speaker 1: creatively or just from personal perspective that you you'll want
[3:00] Speaker 1: to do something different or you'll want to explore new
[3:02] Speaker 1: avenues because you strike me as someone that doesn't like
[3:05] Speaker 1: standing still longer than you have to you're the sort
[3:08] Speaker 1: of person that At least from what I've viewed of
[3:11] Speaker 1: your career and what I've seen of the content you've produced,
[3:14] Speaker 1: you know when to call time. This is enough. Let's
[3:17] Speaker 1: do something different. What do you want to be your
[3:20] Speaker 1: legacy when it comes to all of the projects that
[3:23] Speaker 1: you've helmed when you're done with content creation? What do
[3:27] Speaker 1: you think you want your legacy to be?
[3:29] Speaker 3: I would like to attach.
[3:33] Speaker 2: Mechanical legs to fish and try to introduce them to...
[3:39] Speaker 2: to the land mammals you know.
[3:41] Speaker 3: Try to sort of introduce different.
[3:45] Speaker 2: Species together and different categories of animal together because I
[3:50] Speaker 2: think one of the sad things about living on the
[3:54] Speaker 2: land is the lack of access to animals that live
[3:59] Speaker 2: in the sea and I think sure there's scuba diving
[4:03] Speaker 2: equipment and there are various different diving schools you can
[4:06] Speaker 2: go to But I think sort of on a kind
[4:09] Speaker 2: of a very broad level, if there were.
[4:13] Speaker 3: More interaction between.
[4:17] Speaker 2: Sea creatures and land animals, I think that would be
[4:20] Speaker 2: a fine legacy for me indeed. I think people would
[4:24] Speaker 2: really enjoy that as a legacy.
[4:26] Speaker 1: I asked you what your legacy would be, not what
[4:28] Speaker 1: your pitch for a Rick and Morty episode would be.
[4:32] Speaker 3: I would be a good Rick and Morty.
[4:33] Speaker 1: It would be a very... I'm a big Rick and
[4:36] Speaker 1: Morty fan. So, yeah, I'd still watch it. But come on.
[4:40] Speaker 2: I'll answer that question a different way. What would I
[4:43] Speaker 2: like my legacy to be? I would like people to
[4:45] Speaker 2: remember me as the writer of Rick and Morty. Because
[4:48] Speaker 2: that would be cool, right? That would be such a
[4:51] Speaker 2: cool legacy. Dan Harm.
[4:53] Speaker 3: That guy's got a legacy, huh? Rick and Morty.
[4:56] Speaker 1: Wow. It's pretty impressive. But you have a legacy in
[5:00] Speaker 1: animation now. not me, what I.
[5:03] Speaker 2: Should do is I should say I should reference the
[5:06] Speaker 2: animators because.
[5:07] Speaker 1: They never get talked about I was going to ask
[5:10] Speaker 1: you are you as jealous of Alice of her skills
[5:13] Speaker 1: as Ian McIntosh is as jealous of you or your
[5:16] Speaker 1: clear and obvious youthfulness.
[5:18] Speaker 2: I'm as jealous of Alice's skills as Alice is jealous
[5:21] Speaker 2: of mine let's say that which is to say a
[5:26] Speaker 2: great deal Alice is our managing illustrator Not my sister,
[5:31] Speaker 2: I should say. Because when we first started working here,
[5:33] Speaker 2: people thought she was my wife.
[5:34] Speaker 3: We had to clear that up.
[5:36] Speaker 2: But other than Alice, we've got Philippe Fenner, Craig Silcock,
[5:41] Speaker 2: Henry Cook, Marco Bevilacqua.
[5:43] Speaker 3: What a name, huh?
[5:44] Speaker 2: These guys, some of the top illustrators out there. And
[5:47] Speaker 2: there's also videographers.
[5:48] Speaker 3: Don, yeah?
[5:50] Speaker 2: Don, the unspoken Don, unsung Don, we should say. And Jamie,
[5:54] Speaker 2: working real hard all the time. There's so many people
[5:56] Speaker 2: here that you don't see on the cameras that.
[5:58] Speaker 3: Get the very little credit. In many ways, I think
[6:02] Speaker 3: they're my legacy. So, you know, I will live on
[6:12] Speaker 3: in the lives of my employees.
[6:15] Speaker 1: Well, I can speak to the fact that Philippe and Henry,
[6:17] Speaker 1: who I've interacted with on the old Twitter DMs, both
[6:20] Speaker 1: lovely gentlemen and both very passionate about what they do
[6:24] Speaker 1: and love what they do. And that speaks to a
[6:26] Speaker 1: fostered culture of excellence at the TFO offices. I got
[6:31] Speaker 1: my two questions in, so I feel like I just
[6:35] Speaker 1: have one last quick bonus question. Just how much do
[6:37] Speaker 1: I owe you for my parody? I feel like for
[6:39] Speaker 1: licensing and for taxation purposes, I should get the figure now.
[6:44] Speaker 3: Before I have to.
[6:45] Speaker 1: It's just ticked over 30,000. 30,000? 30,000 views.
[6:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, a million pounds for 30,000 views.
[6:49] Speaker 1: For my like this, yeah.
[6:50] Speaker 3: It's very impressive.
[6:51] Speaker 1: I mean, it's... Was it, though? I feel like I
[7:00] Speaker 1: gave the worst performance of the world, not only with you,
[7:03] Speaker 1: but Alex and Seb, and the only one I came
[7:06] Speaker 1: close to was JJ.
[7:08] Speaker 2: What I'll say to you is that, with the exception
[7:12] Speaker 2: of JJ, for obvious reasons, everyone else, when they heard it,
[7:17] Speaker 2: they thought, I don't sound like that, but everyone else,
[7:20] Speaker 2: he's done really well. All of us thought that, and
[7:23] Speaker 2: that's just because of our perception of how we sound.
[7:27] Speaker 3: So I think you did a very good job. A
[7:28] Speaker 3: fine job.
[7:30] Speaker 1: If anyone is interested at all, I've been doing impressions
[7:33] Speaker 1: of you guys for months, months. And I was just
[7:36] Speaker 1: doing it for fun because I just listened to the
[7:38] Speaker 1: beginning of the podcast and go, and I just one
[7:41] Speaker 1: day I was like, fuck this. Let's just put it together.
[7:43] Speaker 3: I was higher than my voice.
[7:45] Speaker 1: But here's the thing. You had a very... very noticeable
[7:49] Speaker 1: cadence when you introduce the show for a while. You've
[7:52] Speaker 1: diversified it up a little bit now with every show.
[7:54] Speaker 1: There's been times where I'm fully expecting the, hello and.
[7:57] Speaker 3: Welcome to the Tifa podcast.
[8:01] Speaker 1: And I'm now joined by... You know, there's a... to
[8:04] Speaker 1: the speech, whereas now it's more... You seem quite eager
[8:09] Speaker 1: to get down to business these days, so there's a... Right, JJ,
[8:13] Speaker 1: just for fuck's sake, just get on with it. And like...
[8:17] Speaker 1: which is still fun because some of the exacerbation is
[8:20] Speaker 1: fun sometimes but i know that comes from a position
[8:21] Speaker 1: of hard work alex was the easiest alex was just
[8:24] Speaker 1: you just put yourself in the mind of what would
[8:26] Speaker 1: eeyore do if he knew how to swear easy easy
[8:30] Speaker 1: easy easy.
[8:30] Speaker 3: Yeah your alex was very good.
[8:32] Speaker 1: Well he was he was the easiest channel poor seb
[8:35] Speaker 1: seb just technical difficulties and uh jj loud noises many
[8:41] Speaker 1: many loud noises he hadn't he hadn't quite and got
[8:45] Speaker 1: into this weird sean connery response mechanism that he's now
[8:48] Speaker 1: developed i don't know where that's come from i know
[8:51] Speaker 1: he's scottish by the way but it's come from somewhere
[8:54] Speaker 1: and i don't know where it's come from.
[8:55] Speaker 3: But um but yeah.
[8:58] Speaker 1: Very odd so yeah so listen um you have a
[9:01] Speaker 1: uh a life to lead i presume so uh i
[9:04] Speaker 1: do i better let you go so just one last
[9:06] Speaker 1: thing where can people find you where can people uh
[9:09] Speaker 1: buy merch of some descriptions Is there a monthly subscription
[9:13] Speaker 1: service that you would like people to be aware of,
[9:15] Speaker 1: generally speaking?
[9:17] Speaker 3: I don't think so, no. My shirt, by the way.
[9:20] Speaker 1: The logo in particular is really nice.
[9:22] Speaker 2: I don't think there is any subscription service that people
[9:26] Speaker 2: should subscribe to.
[9:29] Speaker 3: But no need to buy anything. Don't buy anything. It's
[9:32] Speaker 3: all there for free. Just watch it if you want. Otherwise, don't.
[9:39] Speaker 2: Oh, man.
[9:39] Speaker 1: I've pulled up the damn TIFO app in order to
[9:42] Speaker 1: plug it. Arsenal 1-1. Damn it.
[9:44] Speaker 3: Are Arsenal playing?
[9:46] Speaker 1: Arsenal are playing right now.
[9:47] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
[9:49] Speaker 3: Okay.
[9:50] Speaker 1: Damn you. Damn you, Athletic. Bringing me bad news.
