[0:04] Speaker 1: Welcome to NFL Daily, where running backs matter, but maybe
[0:08] Speaker 1: not at every price. I'm Greg Rosenthal. I'm here in
[0:11] Speaker 1: the Chris Wesleyan podcast studio. What a week of guess
[0:14] Speaker 1: we've had mina chimes, followed up by Josh Norris, my
[0:18] Speaker 1: old friend way back in the day from rohde Wa
[0:22] Speaker 1: but now he's with Yahoo Sports. You know him, you
[0:27] Speaker 1: love him from the YouTube feed. Hayden and Josh. I
[0:31] Speaker 1: think your name goes first, doesn't it, Josh.
[0:34] Speaker 2: We're keeping it that way for now.
[0:36] Speaker 1: Hidden Wings is great and you guys make a great
[0:39] Speaker 1: combo and they're not just a YouTube channel, although I
[0:42] Speaker 1: love the content and how you present everything there.
[0:44] Speaker 3: It's a podcast.
[0:45] Speaker 1: You've got a new home and that means today, Josh,
[0:48] Speaker 1: we're exclusively talking fantasy football on the show for the
[0:53] Speaker 1: first time this month.
[0:54] Speaker 3: That's how I started in the business.
[0:57] Speaker 1: We knew each other back then, and I think even
[1:00] Speaker 1: if you're not a huge fantasy head, there are gonna
[1:02] Speaker 1: be takeaways just in terms of real football, because we're
[1:06] Speaker 1: going to get into some specific individual projections what we
[1:09] Speaker 1: think are gonna happen this season in a way that
[1:10] Speaker 1: we don't tend to do when we do the big
[1:13] Speaker 1: team previous. I think there's gonna be something for everyone.
[1:16] Speaker 1: And I'm doing this show as an homage to you, Josh,
[1:18] Speaker 1: because I like your content so much.
[1:19] Speaker 4: I really appreciate this look. A lot of the shows
[1:22] Speaker 4: that I guessed on, I get like a rundown exactly
[1:25] Speaker 4: what we're talking about, Greg, I have no idea what
[1:28] Speaker 4: I signed up for today, and that makes me excited.
[1:31] Speaker 4: I am unprepared, yet hopefully fully.
[1:34] Speaker 2: Prepared for this.
[1:35] Speaker 1: As a frequent guest on other podcasts, my favorite ones
[1:39] Speaker 1: are the ones where the host says, I've got something
[1:43] Speaker 1: for you.
[1:44] Speaker 3: You just respond to me.
[1:46] Speaker 1: So what I have for you, Jess, Because your whole
[1:49] Speaker 1: life is prep There's no need.
[1:50] Speaker 3: I think.
[1:52] Speaker 1: I really do think we prep too much as podcasters,
[1:55] Speaker 1: and I'm a victim to that because everything we do
[1:59] Speaker 1: is prep. So you're living in the fantasy world. Drafts
[2:02] Speaker 1: are happening, all sorts of different drafts. A lot of
[2:04] Speaker 1: times you guys have advice for redrafts. That's what I'm
[2:07] Speaker 1: going to be doing soon. I run a kids league
[2:11] Speaker 1: that my son is. I'm the commissioner. I'm not in
[2:13] Speaker 1: that one too, that's coming up soon. And so Today's
[2:16] Speaker 1: show is going to be four things that fantasy football
[2:20] Speaker 1: is getting completely wrong in twenty twenty six drafts. And
[2:24] Speaker 1: this is a takeoff of the type of snappy titles
[2:28] Speaker 1: that you guys have on your YouTube account, some of
[2:31] Speaker 1: which are almost I almost ripped it exactly like this.
[2:33] Speaker 1: It's a lot of completely wrong. Why are so many
[2:36] Speaker 1: people getting so many things completely wrong?
[2:38] Speaker 3: Josh?
[2:39] Speaker 4: Well, because by the end of the season, you know,
[2:42] Speaker 4: you draft your rosters in August and September, and then Greg,
[2:45] Speaker 4: you know, it's by week fifteen you have what two
[2:48] Speaker 4: or three players left that you actually drafted. So I
[2:51] Speaker 4: actually hint wait for this episode because, as you know,
[2:55] Speaker 4: once best ball leagues open in you know, March or
[2:58] Speaker 4: May or you know, when we really start this fantasy
[3:01] Speaker 4: prep in June or July, it's group think, right, Yeah,
[3:05] Speaker 4: you can't move someone too far away from adp or
[3:08] Speaker 4: what the consensus feels about them. And so as an
[3:11] Speaker 4: outsider as you are now from our fantasy football bubble,
[3:14] Speaker 4: you can look at us and tell us how wrong
[3:17] Speaker 4: we are.
[3:17] Speaker 1: And there aren't that many things, and I don't want to,
[3:19] Speaker 1: you know, we're going to do another fantasy there's only
[3:21] Speaker 1: four show. There's only four four things that are completely wrong.
[3:23] Speaker 1: But the fourth one is so expansive, mind bending that
[3:30] Speaker 1: it could be the whole show. And we're going to
[3:32] Speaker 1: spend a lot of time on that because it involves
[3:33] Speaker 1: a lot. That's what you call it teas business. The
[3:36] Speaker 1: first thing people are getting wrong, Josh, is they're drafting
[3:40] Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey at all, much less fifth overall or sixth overall.
[3:45] Speaker 1: What are we doing what you didn't? You didn't like
[3:50] Speaker 1: you missed two seasons ago. Oh yeah, it might be
[3:53] Speaker 1: a contract thing. Oh it's like, oh, it might be
[3:56] Speaker 1: a contract thing. Or he might have completely devastated injuries
[4:00] Speaker 1: and terrible seasons literally every time that he led the
[4:03] Speaker 1: league in touches. And I've watched the football last year,
[4:06] Speaker 1: Josh Norris was was he that good at football?
[4:09] Speaker 3: Like running the ball?
[4:10] Speaker 1: I mean, I think it was an effective football players,
[4:12] Speaker 1: but they were not effective. It was the worst running
[4:14] Speaker 1: game I've ever seen. That one two punch would make
[4:17] Speaker 1: me stay away from him for the first three rounds,
[4:20] Speaker 1: much less in the top five or six picks.
[4:23] Speaker 2: Wow, Okay, there's a lot to hit on here.
[4:25] Speaker 4: This time last summer, Christian McCaffrey was like my flag
[4:28] Speaker 4: plant player, because as you know, us in the fancy
[4:31] Speaker 4: bubble are very reactive to what happened the previous year
[4:35] Speaker 4: when everyone drafted him first overall and he barely played right.
[4:39] Speaker 4: And then we get to last summer, and despite him
[4:42] Speaker 4: finally being healthy for an entire offseason and ready to go,
[4:46] Speaker 4: no one wanted to draft him. So, Greg, this one
[4:48] Speaker 4: hurts me because I was sitting here last year saying, yeah,
[4:52] Speaker 4: let's draft him and guess what. He finishes the running
[4:54] Speaker 4: back one with twenty two points per game, and as
[4:56] Speaker 4: you know, anything above that twenty point mark per contest
[5:00] Speaker 4: is like glory Land. Right, That's exactly what we search for.
[5:03] Speaker 4: But I hear what you're saying. That was one the
[5:06] Speaker 4: easiest schedule in the league other than the Patriots.
[5:08] Speaker 2: Right two.
[5:10] Speaker 4: They truly missed every single skill position player outside of CMC.
[5:15] Speaker 4: So they were willing to feed him the rock in
[5:18] Speaker 4: situations where he wasn't really an efficient runner or an
[5:21] Speaker 4: explosive runner anymore. And so while they have gone through
[5:25] Speaker 4: this massive sweeping change at the wide receiver spot, which
[5:28] Speaker 4: I'm sure we'll talk about at some point, you would
[5:31] Speaker 4: hope that maybe some of that juice comes back but
[5:34] Speaker 4: as you're saying with his age, I mean he's thirty
[5:37] Speaker 4: seventh in the rate of runs a gain tenmore yards
[5:39] Speaker 4: thirty second and runs that failed to gain yardage thirty
[5:41] Speaker 4: six and yards after contact and rush. Those are horrible
[5:45] Speaker 4: underlying metrics for anyone that we're drafting, like sixth overall
[5:47] Speaker 4: or seventh overall right now.
[5:48] Speaker 1: But it shouldn't hurt you, Josh, because you're a visionary,
[5:53] Speaker 1: you're a seer, and last year was the year to
[5:56] Speaker 1: get him. Yeah, sometimes it's not that much more complicated
[6:00] Speaker 1: and buy low, sell high, and then plus the tape
[6:03] Speaker 1: and all the other context that you give to it,
[6:06] Speaker 1: like you have to watch the games, you have to
[6:08] Speaker 1: know all the information. The fact that he's out of
[6:10] Speaker 1: training camp is extremely concerning to me. Maybe it is
[6:14] Speaker 1: contract related, but very possibly it is not, or it's
[6:19] Speaker 1: a combination of things where he doesn't want to play
[6:21] Speaker 1: through some tightness and the fact that his team specifically
[6:26] Speaker 1: lies about injuries and covers injuries up more than any
[6:30] Speaker 1: team in the NFL. If I'm power ranking lying about injuries,
[6:34] Speaker 1: Kyle Shanahan is my number one overall pick at head coach.
[6:38] Speaker 2: Okay, let me ask you this question.
[6:39] Speaker 4: Greg, I always have a difficult time answering this from myself. Yeah,
[6:45] Speaker 4: are we in the business as fantasy you know, prognosticators
[6:49] Speaker 4: to predict injuries, you know, or are we in the
[6:53] Speaker 4: business of, Hey, if this works out, if he plays
[6:56] Speaker 4: all seventeen games, we are predicting the best outcome here.
[7:00] Speaker 4: Because win CMC has played, you know, at least ten
[7:04] Speaker 4: games in the season. He has finished top three in
[7:06] Speaker 4: points per game as a running back score and so
[7:10] Speaker 4: I am hoping in my head that he plays at
[7:12] Speaker 4: least ten games this year, and if he does, he's gonna,
[7:15] Speaker 4: I still think be a tremendous asset, albeit again in
[7:17] Speaker 4: the middle of the first round.
[7:18] Speaker 3: Here, the answer is I is everything.
[7:21] Speaker 1: Yes, I think you're predicting injuries in certain situations when
[7:25] Speaker 1: a player is getting drafted this high and he's at
[7:29] Speaker 1: a position where he's not been healthy four out of
[7:33] Speaker 1: the last eight years. Yeah, and very directly, when he's
[7:38] Speaker 1: led the league in touches, he's been hurt the following seasons,
[7:42] Speaker 1: and he's coming off a great season. That's the thing
[7:44] Speaker 1: is last season was the year to get him because
[7:47] Speaker 1: he was coming in fresh and he was a little
[7:50] Speaker 1: cheaper and you're getting no discount. It seems like a
[7:53] Speaker 1: total disaster. I just think the ceiling is actually a
[7:57] Speaker 1: little lower.
[7:58] Speaker 3: Maybe even then people would realize speak and that. Yeah.
[8:03] Speaker 1: I just there's so many other players that are so good.
[8:06] Speaker 1: We're going to get to it comparing kind of running
[8:08] Speaker 1: backs and wide receivers later. We're starting with some just
[8:11] Speaker 1: like quick hit running back takes before we get to
[8:14] Speaker 1: the meat of the show. My producer suggests that this
[8:18] Speaker 1: has not been quick so far. But like McCaffrey to me,
[8:25] Speaker 1: is you're just making the same mistake people made before.
[8:28] Speaker 3: Give up the ghosts you were right last year.
[8:30] Speaker 1: Make your flag point, my flag point, and then show
[8:34] Speaker 1: that you can play both sides. That you're just like
[8:37] Speaker 1: a motionless don't hold on to last year's win.
[8:40] Speaker 2: Okay, let me ask you this question. Then.
[8:42] Speaker 4: The last two top scoring running backs in each season
[8:46] Speaker 4: have been Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey. Which one are
[8:49] Speaker 4: you drafting earlier this year?
[8:51] Speaker 3: That's my number two point.
[8:52] Speaker 1: It's as if we coordinated this number two. I hate
[8:58] Speaker 1: when people say don't do something without providing another answer.
[9:02] Speaker 1: I would take Saquon like top five or six. If
[9:04] Speaker 1: you want if you have five picks. Yeah, there we go.
[9:07] Speaker 1: I mean that's the thing. This is the year to
[9:09] Speaker 1: take him. He's going to have his Christian McCaffrey twenty
[9:13] Speaker 1: twenty five season right now. And I'm loving the reports
[9:17] Speaker 1: and I do believe in the camp reports from the
[9:20] Speaker 1: Eagles beat writers that are there and just like, oh, yeah,
[9:24] Speaker 1: you see it this year, Like he looks back to
[9:26] Speaker 1: the Saquon that we love to see.
[9:30] Speaker 4: So much of this offseason has been about what is
[9:32] Speaker 4: Sean Mannion going to pluck out of Jalen Hurts, right,
[9:35] Speaker 4: Like these new passing concepts under center, What is DeVante
[9:39] Speaker 4: Smith going to do when he steps into aj Brown's
[9:42] Speaker 4: wide receiver run role, you know, Makaile Lemon as a
[9:45] Speaker 4: rookie wide receiver Greg None of that matters, none of it, Matt,
[9:50] Speaker 4: unless they get the running game back right, because one
[9:53] Speaker 4: that is the baseline for this offense, and two that
[9:57] Speaker 4: changes the math to make the passing game hea ye Right.
[10:00] Speaker 4: If you get Saquon back to not only being an
[10:02] Speaker 4: efficient runner but also an explosive runner, then that forces
[10:06] Speaker 4: single high coverage that makes it easier for Jayden Hursts
[10:09] Speaker 4: to hit more of these downfield passes and all of
[10:10] Speaker 4: that stuff. And I agree again, we are so reactive
[10:14] Speaker 4: to just what happened last year. So if Saquon in
[10:16] Speaker 4: your league was the running back one, two or three,
[10:18] Speaker 4: we know he finished much much much later. But it's
[10:22] Speaker 4: quite easy to say why that happened. Right It was
[10:25] Speaker 4: an injured offensive line that right now is healthy. I
[10:28] Speaker 4: know we don't have Jeff Stoutlin. That's a big deal,
[10:31] Speaker 4: but just if we get some cohesiveness back into it, Greg,
[10:34] Speaker 4: the underlying metrics for Saquon as an individual were not
[10:36] Speaker 4: bad last year. It was just the entire environment and
[10:40] Speaker 4: package that we got from the Eagles was bad. So
[10:42] Speaker 4: if that elevates back up to where it was even
[10:45] Speaker 4: close to a couple of years ago, I mean, I've
[10:47] Speaker 4: Saquon ranked top nine and he's going at like the
[10:51] Speaker 4: third or fourth pick in the second round on way
[10:53] Speaker 4: too many platforms.
[10:54] Speaker 3: Out outrageous, that's outrageous.
[10:57] Speaker 1: Two years ago, I drafted him about eleventh or twelfth,
[11:01] Speaker 1: I think, and everyone that did that he was a
[11:04] Speaker 1: league winner, and I wasn't that confident in it when
[11:06] Speaker 1: I took him there, And that is outrageous to me
[11:10] Speaker 1: when you look at the lack of surefire picks at
[11:14] Speaker 1: running back. Something I want to get to like in
[11:17] Speaker 1: terms of the depth just isn't there near the top.
[11:20] Speaker 1: But I know you like actionable info and you like
[11:22] Speaker 1: to have your ears on the ground.
[11:23] Speaker 3: Here's something maybe you could even go.
[11:25] Speaker 1: Listen to this on the phl Y podcast on Wednesday,
[11:30] Speaker 1: guys Bo wolf E, J.
[11:33] Speaker 3: Smith. Yes, they were talking.
[11:35] Speaker 1: They were standing next to I think it was like
[11:37] Speaker 1: someone with the Patriots that when Takuon is ripping them
[11:42] Speaker 1: for a handful of thirty yard plus games in that
[11:46] Speaker 1: joint practice, which reportedly was the best looking thing about
[11:50] Speaker 1: that entire Eagles team in the joint practice was the
[11:52] Speaker 1: running game and it's going to be a totally new
[11:53] Speaker 1: running game and they've got really talented, some future Hall
[11:57] Speaker 1: of Fame players to execute.
[11:58] Speaker 3: It was like, oh my god, we're.
[12:01] Speaker 1: Glad that Saquon was here because Saquon just exposed us
[12:04] Speaker 1: and a couple of them we're just like, my god,
[12:07] Speaker 1: that guy, like we don't get we don't get a
[12:09] Speaker 1: look like that normally. And everyone was just like, that's
[12:11] Speaker 1: the best player out the field.
[12:13] Speaker 2: So can I ask you this?
[12:14] Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, again, we like to focus in on young players,
[12:18] Speaker 4: not me, but just we as a stacy football community
[12:21] Speaker 4: versus guys. You know that I have already scored as
[12:24] Speaker 4: the running back one overall, very very recently ashen Genty
[12:29] Speaker 4: in consensus rankings out there. My Gyz is running back
[12:33] Speaker 4: six and Saquon Barkley is running back eight. Aren't you
[12:37] Speaker 4: drafting ashen Genty with the hopes that he is Saquon
[12:40] Speaker 4: Barkley on a team that has projected for nineteen points
[12:43] Speaker 4: per game compared to the Eagles that are projected for
[12:45] Speaker 4: twenty four points per game, versus a guy that already
[12:47] Speaker 4: did and scored as a running back one overall two
[12:49] Speaker 4: years ago. Like, why not just draft Saquon Barkley here?
[12:52] Speaker 3: I totally agree.
[12:53] Speaker 1: I would take Saquon Barkley as my running back three
[12:56] Speaker 1: after Gibbs and Bajan love it, and so if I
[12:59] Speaker 1: have the six or seven pick and I am in
[13:01] Speaker 1: a league like I will draft Saquon there.
[13:03] Speaker 3: I'm not. I'm not gonna be afraid.
[13:04] Speaker 1: And the only consideration I would have would be receivers
[13:07] Speaker 1: there after that Jonathan Taylor, I'm fine with that. James
[13:10] Speaker 1: Cook love him and would be would be happy with him.
[13:13] Speaker 1: I'm not gonna like, get in the way, it's insane
[13:16] Speaker 1: to me that Ashton Genty is going that high.
[13:19] Speaker 3: What are we doing here? We have no.
[13:21] Speaker 2: Exactly where he finished last year. By the way, I
[13:24] Speaker 2: don't care.
[13:25] Speaker 4: I mean, it's it's it's crazy to me that he
[13:28] Speaker 4: finishes running back sevent years.
[13:30] Speaker 1: That's because he's, oh seventeen, he finished healthy yet, Yes.
[13:33] Speaker 4: But he's being drafted as the thirteenth overall player. I
[13:36] Speaker 4: him as the eighteenth overall player, and I think like
[13:39] Speaker 4: that's doing a service to him of considering so many
[13:42] Speaker 4: awful pieces around are getting to average in terms of coach,
[13:46] Speaker 4: offensive line, all this type of stuff. But going from
[13:49] Speaker 4: you know, running back seventeen last year to the thirteenth
[13:51] Speaker 4: overall player this year, that has been my biggest pushback
[13:53] Speaker 4: is why the heck are people taking gent over Saquon?
[13:57] Speaker 4: Just take saque over Genty. It's that simple.
[13:59] Speaker 1: Yeah, we have to incorporate are we sure this guy
[14:04] Speaker 1: is good? It's a really important part of fantasy football
[14:07] Speaker 1: that I feel gets lost is just who's good at
[14:11] Speaker 1: football and who's not really makes a big difference. Ashton
[14:14] Speaker 1: Genty might have a solid fantasy football career. He might
[14:17] Speaker 1: have a great NFL career, But I don't know about it.
[14:21] Speaker 1: I don't think he showed us that yet. I don't
[14:22] Speaker 1: think it was all about the situation. And I like
[14:26] Speaker 1: the looks of Mike.
[14:27] Speaker 3: Washington too, like I just me too. I just don't
[14:30] Speaker 3: see it.
[14:30] Speaker 1: To me, I've changed how I think about fantasy in
[14:35] Speaker 1: terms of, you know, everyone's got a price, and sure
[14:37] Speaker 1: Ashton Genty would have a price for me, but I
[14:40] Speaker 1: think i'd be closer to like how Bill Belichick and
[14:42] Speaker 1: Scott Piola used to do drafts now and just have
[14:44] Speaker 1: a much smaller draft boards, like there's only a handful
[14:47] Speaker 1: of running backs in the first and second round I
[14:48] Speaker 1: would consider, like I would not consider Ashton Genty in
[14:51] Speaker 1: the first thirty five picks or so because I just
[14:54] Speaker 1: think there are there are gonna be receivers and some
[14:57] Speaker 1: running backs. But basically there's no point where I feel
[14:59] Speaker 1: better about Ashton Genty then like DeVante Smith or something
[15:04] Speaker 1: just like no, I'll just take I'll just take like
[15:06] Speaker 1: a wide receiver that I don't want Ashon Genty at
[15:08] Speaker 1: all period.
[15:09] Speaker 4: One of our slogans that we use in the channel
[15:11] Speaker 4: all the time on YouTube is just take good players
[15:14] Speaker 4: and good teams. Yeah time there, Greg, Like you know,
[15:18] Speaker 4: the good team score the most points and then the
[15:20] Speaker 4: points turn out to be fantasy points for you and
[15:22] Speaker 4: all that type of stuff. I don't follow it all
[15:24] Speaker 4: the time, but uh I do most of the time.
[15:26] Speaker 4: I'm going to push back at one thing you said, though, Okay,
[15:29] Speaker 4: you said you don't love like this glood of running backs.
[15:31] Speaker 4: I absolutely love this glood of running backs. At the
[15:34] Speaker 4: end of round one to like halfway through of round two,
[15:38] Speaker 4: so we talked about sequon, we talked about gent After that,
[15:40] Speaker 4: you have Devanta a Chan, Chase Brown, Hin walk to
[15:43] Speaker 4: the third Derek Henry Amarin Hampton. I mean Greg lining
[15:46] Speaker 4: up at the one ten, one, eleven, one twelve so
[15:49] Speaker 4: often I just want to start running back, running back
[15:51] Speaker 4: and then hammer wide receiver for the next few rounds
[15:53] Speaker 4: after that.
[15:54] Speaker 1: You are you are hinting and previewing at our big
[15:57] Speaker 1: topic there. I don't disagree with the larger point that
[16:02] Speaker 1: you are making eight Han specifically high ceiling high like
[16:09] Speaker 1: low floor. He's a little risky, but I don't think
[16:11] Speaker 1: it's crazy to take him there. He could be incredible.
[16:14] Speaker 1: That could go pretty sideways. I'm with you at Chase Brown.
[16:18] Speaker 1: I'm with you on Kyrien Williams Kenneth Walker for the
[16:20] Speaker 1: price Hampton, You're right, I think I think the quality
[16:23] Speaker 1: of those players sets up a cliff at running back
[16:27] Speaker 1: that worries me. My final small, very small point is
[16:30] Speaker 1: just stop taking Trevon Henderson over Romandre you know, two
[16:34] Speaker 1: rounds apart. Yes, it's just like, yeah, I just think
[16:37] Speaker 1: this gets back to the good football player. Travon Henderson
[16:40] Speaker 1: is a very good football player at what he does,
[16:42] Speaker 1: but there's no indication to believe that. The Patriots believe
[16:46] Speaker 1: he's a better football player than Ramandre. So it's just
[16:49] Speaker 1: he's just going to be more. I just probably don't
[16:51] Speaker 1: want either of them until late. But Ramondre is a
[16:53] Speaker 1: fine mid round, mid round pick. But like, as a
[16:56] Speaker 1: Patriots fan, I bet Ramondre's gonna have a better season.
[16:59] Speaker 4: I think it's a pretty useful exercise to sometimes go
[17:02] Speaker 4: through teammates that have somewhat similar ADPs and being like, hey,
[17:06] Speaker 4: do we just have this wrong? Like is this backwards?
[17:09] Speaker 4: You know a few years ago that was the case
[17:10] Speaker 4: with Cooper Cup and Pucunakoa. I'll be those ADPs were
[17:13] Speaker 4: very far apart. I think another one this year is
[17:16] Speaker 4: actually Matthew Golden versus jayde Reid. Like Matthew Golden is
[17:19] Speaker 4: being drafted after Jaden Reid all the time, and I
[17:23] Speaker 4: have Matthew Golden straight up rinked ahead.
[17:25] Speaker 3: Where are they getting drafted?
[17:26] Speaker 1: This is where my lack of intelligence and Yahoo, by
[17:30] Speaker 1: the way, great great ADP using that ADP, hell, I
[17:34] Speaker 1: love it.
[17:34] Speaker 4: It's a great ADP because you know, us experts get
[17:37] Speaker 4: funneled into that. Jayden Reid is like wide receiver forty five,
[17:41] Speaker 4: one seventeen overall, and then around later Matthew Golden is
[17:45] Speaker 4: won twenty seven overall as wide receiver forty eight. I mean,
[17:48] Speaker 4: I actually love Christian Watson. I'm sure we won't get
[17:50] Speaker 4: to him. He's one of my favorite picks on the board.
[17:51] Speaker 2: Okay this year.
[17:52] Speaker 4: But there are those associated you know, teammates, and I
[17:57] Speaker 4: agree with you with Ramandre whereas maybe sometimes we get
[18:01] Speaker 4: a bit weak one brained with this. And we know,
[18:03] Speaker 4: like in the first series and the first carrying, the
[18:05] Speaker 4: first snap, Wheremondre Stevens is going to be out there.
[18:07] Speaker 4: And while I am a Trevin Henderson optimist, I think
[18:11] Speaker 4: it's very obvious that Ramondre Stevenson for as long as
[18:14] Speaker 4: he can is going to be the quote unquote lead
[18:16] Speaker 4: back for the Patriots.
[18:17] Speaker 1: I think they'll be fine, both of them, fantasy and reality,
[18:20] Speaker 1: like Middle Ceilian Middle.
[18:22] Speaker 4: Didn't you have a show with Ali Connley halfway through
[18:24] Speaker 4: the summer where you drafted like Trevian Henderson extremely high.
[18:28] Speaker 3: That's dollar, it's a fair it's a fair point for fantasy.
[18:31] Speaker 2: Listener.
[18:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, that for fantasy. I just think they kind of
[18:34] Speaker 1: cancel each other out. They're both fine. I'm glad you
[18:37] Speaker 1: brought up Matthew going. I have so many takes, Josh.
[18:40] Speaker 1: I think it's actually an amazing thing to just jump
[18:43] Speaker 1: into fantasy. Almost sight unseen in mid August. It's it's
[18:48] Speaker 1: like the cold the cold dub, the cold bat. You
[18:50] Speaker 1: ever take a cold bath, I'm telling you, Oh, it's good.
[18:54] Speaker 1: I'm into it, you know plunge. Well, when I go
[18:58] Speaker 1: to Japan, this is gonna make me sound on privilege,
[19:01] Speaker 1: but it's like brow.
[19:03] Speaker 3: My in laws live.
[19:03] Speaker 1: There, and one of the most popular cultural things that
[19:06] Speaker 1: you do there is you go to the baths the
[19:08] Speaker 1: own spots. Yes, yeah, they're not really spot. It's just
[19:11] Speaker 1: like you know, it's the nice waters. Of their hot tubs,
[19:13] Speaker 1: but with you know, but with the great local water.
[19:17] Speaker 1: But they also there often have you know, the cold
[19:19] Speaker 1: tub there and you go from one one to the other.
[19:22] Speaker 1: I'm all about the cold tub makes you makes you
[19:23] Speaker 1: feel alive.
[19:24] Speaker 3: So that's how I find.
[19:25] Speaker 2: What does that to do with Matthew Golden.
[19:27] Speaker 1: Uh, it's more about and I'm glad he brought up
[19:29] Speaker 1: Golden because I would have forgot it. It's more about
[19:31] Speaker 1: how I'm jumping into the fantasy season and how refreshing
[19:35] Speaker 1: it is.
[19:36] Speaker 2: It shocked your system.
[19:37] Speaker 1: Matthew Golden I want on every team possible. I'd go
[19:40] Speaker 1: a step further and I would rather have him over Watson,
[19:44] Speaker 1: certainly for the price. Wow, And I just want Matthew Golden.
[19:48] Speaker 1: That's another one, like, I'm gonna keep my wide receiver
[19:51] Speaker 1: list relatively short, but if you've got him in the
[19:54] Speaker 1: top forty five, I've probably I'd have to actually make
[19:57] Speaker 1: my list, but I'm guessing he would be in my
[19:59] Speaker 1: top thirty five.
[20:00] Speaker 3: I just want him.
[20:01] Speaker 1: I can absolutely see a scenario where he has a
[20:04] Speaker 1: thousand yard season where he's wide receiver one. I think
[20:07] Speaker 1: the floor has actually got to be pretty high for him.
[20:10] Speaker 3: Way better than Jayden Reid uh way better.
[20:13] Speaker 1: So I'm totally agreeing with you on that take in
[20:15] Speaker 1: him versus Watson, you know, because of Watson's up and
[20:19] Speaker 1: down career. Like to me, those are we'll see. I
[20:21] Speaker 1: think Golden could be a total, big time, breakout league
[20:24] Speaker 1: winner type of guy.
[20:25] Speaker 4: Interesting, I'm really into Watson this year, but I'm drafting
[20:27] Speaker 4: Golden because he's going way, way, way by.
[20:29] Speaker 1: I would like Watson too. I bet I would like
[20:31] Speaker 1: Watson too for the value. Okay, we've teased.
[20:34] Speaker 4: Whoa whoa Greg real quick before, Like you're just unleashing
[20:37] Speaker 4: all these takes. Yeah, can I ask you where you're
[20:40] Speaker 4: going to take these up and coming rookies because that's
[20:44] Speaker 4: like a big part of our fantasy prognostication, right, So
[20:47] Speaker 4: I guess just in and out?
[20:48] Speaker 2: Right?
[20:48] Speaker 4: In or out? Are you in or out on Deshaun Stribbling?
[20:52] Speaker 4: Are you in or out on Casey Concepcion.
[20:54] Speaker 1: It's so funny, was going to end the show with
[20:58] Speaker 1: just giving you a chance to hang out in the
[21:00] Speaker 1: Strip Club.
[21:02] Speaker 3: You are.
[21:04] Speaker 1: The foremost I'm a founding member of the Strip Club.
[21:07] Speaker 1: You might be the only member. No, I'm sure people
[21:09] Speaker 1: have jumped on board. I'm in on both. Not a
[21:13] Speaker 1: place you want to be alone, but I'm for fantasy.
[21:16] Speaker 3: I'm in on both. I'm in on both.
[21:18] Speaker 1: I mean conception was my I didn't he was my
[21:21] Speaker 1: wide receiver too for reality, Like coming into the draft
[21:25] Speaker 1: and I it was like a one A one B
[21:27] Speaker 1: like I wanted to almost make I believe in him.
[21:30] Speaker 3: I kind of like him a.
[21:31] Speaker 1: Little less from a fantasy perspective, but I still like
[21:34] Speaker 1: him just because you know, there's a lot of mouse
[21:36] Speaker 1: to feed and it's the brown.
[21:38] Speaker 3: But Stribling seems surprisingly.
[21:41] Speaker 1: Undervalued when I when I went to look, because I
[21:43] Speaker 1: saw the like I've heard there's fantasy hype around him,
[21:46] Speaker 1: and I went to go check it out, and.
[21:47] Speaker 3: I was like, not enough. I'm with you.
[21:49] Speaker 2: Make the twelve thron picks right now.
[21:51] Speaker 1: Wow, twelve n I'd rather have Stribbling in fantasy, even
[21:55] Speaker 1: though I think there's more variance. I just think in
[21:57] Speaker 1: fantasy he showed enough for me to believe in him.
[22:01] Speaker 1: I think conceptsi O is a better player, but it
[22:03] Speaker 1: doesn't matter for fantasy.
[22:04] Speaker 3: I think even Stribbling would be better.
[22:06] Speaker 2: No, it really doesn't matter.
[22:07] Speaker 4: I mean you know this that the draft and let's
[22:12] Speaker 4: say Dynasty community has kind of anchored the opinion on
[22:15] Speaker 4: Deshawn's ribbing. Like, think about it, right, if the thirty
[22:18] Speaker 4: third overall pick in any other year was attached to
[22:22] Speaker 4: a play caller the quality of Kyle Shanahan that you
[22:25] Speaker 4: know is so consistent and scores as many points in
[22:27] Speaker 4: San Francisco forty nine ers, wouldn't everyone be freaking out,
[22:31] Speaker 4: you know, and wanting to draft this guy. And yet
[22:33] Speaker 4: because of biases and pre draft opinions on Deshaun shribbling,
[22:37] Speaker 4: they don't care, like it's just not doing anything for them.
[22:41] Speaker 4: So I think we found out your strategy here, Greg
[22:43] Speaker 4: is to maybe load up on running backs early and
[22:45] Speaker 4: then in rounds ten, eleven, twelve, you get Matthew Golden
[22:49] Speaker 4: Casey Conceptsio and Deshaun stribbling.
[22:50] Speaker 1: Like, I don't even yeah, conceptsi own. I have a
[22:53] Speaker 1: lot of stock in in reality.
[22:56] Speaker 4: Button for Todd market, Like, I think that's a big
[22:58] Speaker 4: deal here, right at least like any given week you
[23:01] Speaker 4: can get five six receptions out of him, as we
[23:03] Speaker 4: saw in the preseason game where you got two Manufacturer
[23:06] Speaker 4: touches on Carri's you got the rub route downfield route
[23:11] Speaker 4: that he got too, And to me, that drastically lowers
[23:14] Speaker 4: the value of someone like Harold Fannin, who was the
[23:17] Speaker 4: easy button for Kevin Sefanski in the offense last year.
[23:19] Speaker 4: There's gonna be a section of that playbook for Monkin
[23:22] Speaker 4: where he's like, Okay, we are struggling, and there's gonna
[23:24] Speaker 4: be a lot of struggles this year for the for
[23:26] Speaker 4: the Browns that if we need a first down, if
[23:28] Speaker 4: we need some juice, let's just get the ball in
[23:30] Speaker 4: number one's hands and Casey Conceptsion and there's your handful
[23:33] Speaker 4: of touches every single game.
[23:34] Speaker 1: Yeah, CONCEPTI and with the Browns, and you've convinced me
[23:39] Speaker 1: I want to live in a world as a big
[23:40] Speaker 1: CONCEPTI owned fan where seven d and eighty yards and
[23:43] Speaker 1: three touchdowns is a really good rookie season for Casey
[23:46] Speaker 1: Conceptsio and considering he's on the Browns. But for fantasy's
[23:49] Speaker 1: that's like not that exciting. But yes, John Stribbling, just
[23:53] Speaker 1: for people who are just kind of tuning in, like
[23:55] Speaker 1: a second round pick for the forty nine ers, Mike
[23:57] Speaker 1: Evans has been a little in and out of practice,
[24:00] Speaker 1: just it's a it's a position for Kyle Shanahan that
[24:03] Speaker 1: he loads up Deebo. Samuel is heavily involved. It's uh,
[24:07] Speaker 1: it's asking for it. You very generously teased. What is
[24:11] Speaker 1: going to be the fourth and most important thing that
[24:15] Speaker 1: fantasy footballers are getting wrong?
[24:18] Speaker 3: We'll do that after the break. How about that.
[24:28] Speaker 1: Having fun here with Josh Norris. Yahoo's Sports give him
[24:34] Speaker 1: a follow on all socials. But yeah, that the YouTube
[24:39] Speaker 1: channel Josh and Josh and Hayden getting it done at
[24:43] Speaker 1: yah who Sports.
[24:44] Speaker 3: It's almost like you know how to do this, Josh.
[24:46] Speaker 3: This is fun.
[24:47] Speaker 1: But I hope what I am about to say to
[24:50] Speaker 1: you doesn't just completely change your board in a way
[24:54] Speaker 1: that makes you question what you've been doing.
[24:55] Speaker 3: The last six months.
[24:59] Speaker 1: My four thing is that people just need to stop
[25:02] Speaker 1: taking running backs period. In the third and fourth round
[25:08] Speaker 1: of these drafts. It's over third and fourth, maybe even fifth.
[25:13] Speaker 1: Just there, there's not gonna be any point to it,
[25:17] Speaker 1: and just take these wide receivers. We will go through
[25:21] Speaker 1: these running backs and the wide receivers one on one,
[25:24] Speaker 1: one by one and explain the overall stratagem. But when
[25:31] Speaker 1: I saw this list, Josh, it shocked me. Josh Jacobs, Yeah,
[25:35] Speaker 1: good luck with that. Like suspension, injury, up and down,
[25:39] Speaker 1: bad vibe. You know, accuse the domestic violence. I don't
[25:42] Speaker 1: want that on my team either. Jeremiah Love. I love
[25:45] Speaker 1: him a yeah high ankle Sprain, love him as a player.
[25:48] Speaker 1: Confusing Brisa. I'm not gonna go crazy, but eh, Kim
[25:53] Speaker 1: Skataboo is an insane one.
[25:55] Speaker 3: We'll dive into that. Javonte Williams.
[25:57] Speaker 1: Eh, but like still too early, Bucky Irving, what did
[26:00] Speaker 1: you watch last season?
[26:01] Speaker 3: DeAndre Swift? You could convince me at some point.
[26:04] Speaker 2: I like that. I like that.
[26:07] Speaker 1: Travisset, you know, Travis a Chan and look I love
[26:11] Speaker 1: Baseil Toot and we talked to Travian Henderson. But are
[26:14] Speaker 1: you crazy when you are comparing those guys and I'm
[26:16] Speaker 1: going to give the list of the wide receivers going
[26:18] Speaker 1: in the same area. It is a joke, like comparing
[26:22] Speaker 1: these guys not just as football players, but as fantasy
[26:25] Speaker 1: football assets to the wide receivers that it's available. I
[26:29] Speaker 1: know which team I'm taking. I'm just taking all the receivers.
[26:31] Speaker 1: If I'm drafted a team, all the receivers.
[26:34] Speaker 4: It's why this year again I love drafting at the
[26:37] Speaker 4: turn and in previous years you know, I would never
[26:39] Speaker 4: ever say that, but again, getting two of the running backs,
[26:42] Speaker 4: whether it be JT, James, Cook, Saquon, all the other
[26:45] Speaker 4: guys that we mentioned at the top of the show,
[26:48] Speaker 4: and then hammering wide receivers from there, because as you're saying,
[26:51] Speaker 4: the wide receivers feel like so much better clicks than
[26:53] Speaker 4: the running backs there. And that's been termed the dead
[26:55] Speaker 4: zone recently in the fantasy football community. The dead zone
[26:58] Speaker 4: kind of didn't exist last year in a lot of ways,
[27:01] Speaker 4: but maybe it's back. Like how many running backs are
[27:05] Speaker 4: being selected in the you know, top forty overall is
[27:08] Speaker 4: about seventeen right now. That's a lot. That's a lot
[27:12] Speaker 4: so and you can pick holes in every single one
[27:14] Speaker 4: of the profiles, as you said, and we're about like
[27:17] Speaker 4: their top end outcomes might be exactly where you are
[27:22] Speaker 4: drafting them.
[27:23] Speaker 1: Those guys are fifth, sixth round, seventh round running backs
[27:27] Speaker 1: to me like such big question marks.
[27:30] Speaker 3: I don't I don't like almost any of them.
[27:32] Speaker 1: And then big picture, I'm just gonna list off the
[27:35] Speaker 1: names and then we'll kind of go through some of
[27:37] Speaker 1: these players that we find the most injuries. But here
[27:39] Speaker 1: are the wide receivers going in the roughly the same area,
[27:42] Speaker 1: Like at the end of the second round, third round
[27:44] Speaker 1: turn sometimes it's George Pickens and AJ Brown compared to
[27:47] Speaker 1: those guys Chris Olave coming off that season that he
[27:51] Speaker 1: just had in that offense, say Flowers give it all
[27:55] Speaker 1: to him, like Teteroa McMillan like, put my mortgage on that.
[28:00] Speaker 3: I mean, it's insane. How long how late he is going?
[28:04] Speaker 3: T Higgins fine, DeVante Smith.
[28:06] Speaker 2: Like this is a great pass.
[28:08] Speaker 3: He's fine. Let me it's right. Let me just give
[28:10] Speaker 3: you all the names.
[28:11] Speaker 1: Let me give you the names Lad McConkie later in
[28:13] Speaker 1: the fourth Jalen Wattle, Garrett Wilson, even maybe DJ Moore,
[28:18] Speaker 1: Like these guys are all just great bets. I like
[28:22] Speaker 1: every single one of those names, two varying levels, better
[28:26] Speaker 1: than every single one of the running back names I mentioned.
[28:29] Speaker 1: I would not be taking those backs until like five
[28:31] Speaker 1: or six and they're gone.
[28:32] Speaker 4: Okay, what's gonna happen now? Is in your redraft league
[28:36] Speaker 4: that you play, hopefully you still play one. Uh, you
[28:38] Speaker 4: were going to be destined to pick in the third
[28:42] Speaker 4: or fourth spot, so that gives you Jamar Chase Pukuna
[28:44] Speaker 4: Kua and then once you get back to the end
[28:46] Speaker 4: of round two, Breck, there's gonna be no running backs
[28:49] Speaker 4: here to take either.
[28:50] Speaker 2: Then that's like the Nico Collins Brock.
[28:51] Speaker 1: I would maybe take Saquon like third, or I wouldn't care. Wow,
[28:56] Speaker 1: I don't like I would at least think about it,
[28:59] Speaker 1: like if I'm if, if I'm that, if I'm thinking ahead,
[29:02] Speaker 1: I would probably make sure I get one running back
[29:04] Speaker 1: of the first two. I don't think that's crazy. I
[29:07] Speaker 1: would think about it, like, well, what is this to me?
[29:09] Speaker 1: There's not that big of a difference between I mean,
[29:12] Speaker 1: I love Jamar Chase, but like whoever I'm going to
[29:14] Speaker 1: get in the second round. At receiver, it's not that
[29:16] Speaker 1: much of a difference, whereas at running back, I feel
[29:18] Speaker 1: like I want a real deal dude, and it some
[29:22] Speaker 1: of these are crazy, Zake Collins being that low and
[29:25] Speaker 1: Tetro and mc McMillan actually stand out to me as
[29:27] Speaker 1: the guys who I am most shocked. Okay, are going late,
[29:30] Speaker 1: But give me your case on t Higgins.
[29:33] Speaker 4: Well, I mean the T Higgins one is pretty simple.
[29:35] Speaker 4: I mean, the last time he played seventeen games with
[29:37] Speaker 4: Joe Burrow, he was the wide receiver four and points
[29:40] Speaker 4: per game. You know, he went from six catches and
[29:43] Speaker 4: seventy six yards per contest when playing with Joe Burrow
[29:46] Speaker 4: down to four catches for fifty six yards last year,
[29:48] Speaker 4: and that's because he got you know, eight games of Borrow,
[29:51] Speaker 4: six games of flacc going three with Jake Browning. So
[29:53] Speaker 4: T Higgins is one of these guys that's kind of
[29:56] Speaker 4: viewed as this high variance boom or bust all that
[29:59] Speaker 4: type of stuff. But great, you know that these under
[30:01] Speaker 4: centered play action looks at the Cincinnati Bengals are throwing out,
[30:04] Speaker 4: that's going to mean a lot of two main routes
[30:06] Speaker 4: down the field and only two people are going to
[30:08] Speaker 4: catch the ball, and that's Jamar Chase and T Higgins.
[30:10] Speaker 4: So while you know it's been kind of inconsistent and
[30:13] Speaker 4: they're trying to plow through it and make sure it works,
[30:16] Speaker 4: I think it will in the end, and if it doesn't,
[30:17] Speaker 4: they'll just abandon and.
[30:18] Speaker 2: Go back to what worked the last couple of years.
[30:20] Speaker 1: Too.
[30:20] Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he's fine.
[30:23] Speaker 1: I just like the other guys more and I you know,
[30:25] Speaker 1: he's a little heavy reliant on touchdowns, but he has
[30:28] Speaker 1: been extremely consistent at that. But I'd rather just like
[30:32] Speaker 1: catches yards. It's more that I like the other guys.
[30:35] Speaker 1: I got no problem with t Higgins whatsoever. They're really
[30:38] Speaker 1: the only two receivers if there were people paying super
[30:41] Speaker 1: close attention and going through the ADP that I don't
[30:44] Speaker 1: like that are getting taken in the third round are
[30:47] Speaker 1: neighbors just because I don't want the risk of it all?
[30:50] Speaker 4: And Rashid Rice, I'm the opposite of you on Neighbors,
[30:55] Speaker 4: on the opposite. In fact, after this recording, I am
[31:00] Speaker 4: doing an episode where I go through, like the fourteen
[31:03] Speaker 4: players I'm betting my entire fantasy season on.
[31:05] Speaker 3: See. That's a great that's a great YouTube headline right there.
[31:07] Speaker 3: That's you guys there it is.
[31:09] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I try to do it. Man.
[31:12] Speaker 4: He's my favorite round three pick right now, and I
[31:15] Speaker 4: have him twenty second overall, so I would take him
[31:17] Speaker 4: at the end part of round two. Like There's been
[31:20] Speaker 4: so much negative buzz around players returning from injury so
[31:24] Speaker 4: far this preseason, but for him it has only been possible.
[31:28] Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know. I was listening to you don't
[31:30] Speaker 3: think so I was listening.
[31:32] Speaker 1: Well, I don't care about what people are saying as
[31:34] Speaker 1: much as what he is doing which is not even
[31:36] Speaker 1: close to playing football yet, and so at this point
[31:39] Speaker 1: that concerns me. The Giants Nation podcast, I heard Jordan
[31:43] Speaker 1: Rainon talk about it a little bit like it was
[31:45] Speaker 1: there his first day, even going up against other defenders,
[31:49] Speaker 1: but you can't touch him in everything, and he thought
[31:51] Speaker 1: he was like, you know, is that just how he
[31:53] Speaker 1: moves or is he like jumping off the wrong foot
[31:55] Speaker 1: limping around. I am worried when I don't think he's
[32:00] Speaker 1: shown yet that he's particularly close to being one hundred percent.
[32:04] Speaker 1: People get over their skis a little bit like he's
[32:06] Speaker 1: not on pup, he's not doing this like maybe he
[32:08] Speaker 1: will be playing week one. My guess is like he's
[32:12] Speaker 1: not going to be full moleak Neighbors for the start
[32:15] Speaker 1: of the season, like even if he's out there, And
[32:17] Speaker 1: so when there's it's more about the other options that
[32:21] Speaker 1: are there. When you're telling me that I could have McMillan,
[32:23] Speaker 1: or I like Zay Flowers that much, I like Devontae
[32:26] Speaker 1: Smith that much, I like like Waddle that much, where
[32:28] Speaker 1: I just like, go for it because I have a
[32:31] Speaker 1: feeling we'll see the best of Milik Neighbors in twenty
[32:33] Speaker 1: twenty seven because that was a next level injury that
[32:35] Speaker 1: wasn't like a normal it was.
[32:37] Speaker 4: Yeah, it was for sure, just one final thing, one
[32:39] Speaker 4: reason why. And look, whatever happened last year, we try
[32:42] Speaker 4: to recreate it with someone this year. And Jackson Smith
[32:45] Speaker 4: and jigb last year. You know, in these heavier personnel
[32:47] Speaker 4: looks which the league is taking on at a ridiculous
[32:52] Speaker 4: rate rate based on the NFL Draft, he scored and
[32:56] Speaker 4: had fifty one percent of his production on thirty eight
[32:58] Speaker 4: percent of these heavy your personal looks. Okay, Malik Neighbors
[33:02] Speaker 4: now has Matt Naggi and Greg Roman building this offense. Right,
[33:07] Speaker 4: both of those teams that those two you know, play
[33:10] Speaker 4: callers or coordinators work for want to have these heavier
[33:14] Speaker 4: personal bodies on the field. So you have Theo Johnson,
[33:17] Speaker 4: you have Isaiah Likely, you have Chris Manhertz, you have
[33:19] Speaker 4: Patrick Ricard. And what that does is we love that
[33:21] Speaker 4: out of passing looks because that just means the ball
[33:24] Speaker 4: is gonna be funneled to the best players. And the
[33:26] Speaker 4: best player by far is Malik Neighbors. So you could
[33:30] Speaker 4: be right at the same time if he does miss
[33:31] Speaker 4: Week one or whatever, you're not taking a zero for
[33:33] Speaker 4: that in your facy league too, like I would put
[33:35] Speaker 4: on my shoulders to start Deshaun Strippling or Matthew Golden
[33:38] Speaker 4: in his place, for example. So I love all those
[33:42] Speaker 4: wide receivers though, Like this, This is why a salary
[33:45] Speaker 4: capper an auction league is so great, because I would
[33:48] Speaker 4: love to spend a lot on the top running backs
[33:50] Speaker 4: and then exit with like four of those wide receivers.
[33:53] Speaker 4: All that you mentioned from a Lave to Za Flowers
[33:55] Speaker 4: to Waddle to lad all that group is fantastic in
[33:59] Speaker 4: my mind.
[33:59] Speaker 1: I mean Pickens and Brown sometimes falling it. It looks
[34:02] Speaker 1: like you're seeing like the third round is a little
[34:05] Speaker 1: wild to me. I am easily influenced by what I
[34:09] Speaker 1: just saw. And what I saw at the Joint practices
[34:11] Speaker 1: was like a j Brown hitting that turbo boost past.
[34:14] Speaker 3: That's Quinnon Mitchell.
[34:15] Speaker 1: I was like, okay, like it's coming together, it's happening
[34:19] Speaker 1: a lobby like it already happened.
[34:22] Speaker 3: We saw it down the stretch.
[34:24] Speaker 1: Zay Flowers is one where if I had the choice
[34:26] Speaker 1: day Flowers or Teturo and McMillan, I'm gonna take McMillan.
[34:29] Speaker 1: I think McMillan is not a like a crazy like
[34:34] Speaker 1: I probably wouldn't end up taking him in the middle
[34:36] Speaker 1: of the second round, but I don't think like, to me,
[34:38] Speaker 1: that's closer to his value is like a top twenty
[34:41] Speaker 1: fantasy pick. I think there's a real possibility that either
[34:44] Speaker 1: one of those guys. But McMillan to me, is just
[34:45] Speaker 1: a better player than Zay Flowers is. There is a
[34:49] Speaker 1: real opportunity and we're not you know, we're not allowed
[34:52] Speaker 1: to gamble or play fantasy for money here at NFL
[34:55] Speaker 1: Daily Josh, but we're allowed to talk about these odds
[34:59] Speaker 1: and stuff like, of course, whatever the long odds of
[35:02] Speaker 1: those two guys, one of them leading the league and
[35:04] Speaker 1: receiving is Like, I don't think that's a crazy notion
[35:07] Speaker 1: that Zay or McMillan like have fifteen hundred yards, that
[35:10] Speaker 1: they that their league winner types, which is the type
[35:13] Speaker 1: of guy that you know, I want to be drafting,
[35:15] Speaker 1: are league winner types crazy huge ceilings, and I think
[35:18] Speaker 1: the floors, you know, quite high for both of them.
[35:22] Speaker 3: What do you think about those two specifically.
[35:26] Speaker 4: Zay, I think this is a great potential reset season
[35:29] Speaker 4: for him, not that he necessarily needs it from his
[35:31] Speaker 4: you know, true fantasy production. As he scored basically in
[35:36] Speaker 4: the spot last year. But from a play caller standpoint,
[35:39] Speaker 4: and the real way that say Flowers not becomes like
[35:43] Speaker 4: a little win like you're talking about, but a massive
[35:45] Speaker 4: win is red zone targets. So he had just ten
[35:49] Speaker 4: red zone targets last season, only seventeen over the last
[35:53] Speaker 4: two years. Olama Dazakias had more red zone targets than
[35:57] Speaker 4: Save Flowers had last season. And red zone tuchuchdowns, Okay,
[36:01] Speaker 4: Zay Flower like touchdowns really matter at the end of
[36:03] Speaker 4: the day. That is the big barometer of if you
[36:06] Speaker 4: had a good fantasy season or not. And Zay has
[36:09] Speaker 4: never scored more than six touchdowns in a season, yet
[36:13] Speaker 4: was the wide receiver thirteen in points per game last year.
[36:15] Speaker 4: But we have a new play caller in the fold, right,
[36:17] Speaker 4: we have Decland Doyle, who by the way, was a
[36:19] Speaker 4: coach on the staff for Alamede Zakias last year. And
[36:23] Speaker 4: I look at and the size, and you know, the
[36:27] Speaker 4: natural biology of the two might be a little bit different.
[36:30] Speaker 4: But Zay Flowers versus Aman Rossaint Brown, right, and maybe,
[36:34] Speaker 4: just maybe Zay can be utilized in that condensed area
[36:37] Speaker 4: like aarsb is who by the Way led the NFL
[36:40] Speaker 4: with thirty four red zone targets last year, had sixty
[36:43] Speaker 4: six over the last two seasons. So you get him
[36:46] Speaker 4: some manufactured space, you get him in you know, these
[36:49] Speaker 4: stacked formations in this condensed field, and maybe that can
[36:53] Speaker 4: at least get him to know five red zone touchdowns
[36:56] Speaker 4: rather than ten and that would be just a huge,
[36:58] Speaker 4: huge win for save Flower season.
[37:00] Speaker 1: Well, here's what he hasn't done as a pro missed
[37:03] Speaker 1: the game, had had less than one hundred and eight
[37:06] Speaker 1: targets in a season, And I put something into the
[37:11] Speaker 1: contract that they gave him. I mean, they believe in him,
[37:14] Speaker 1: and this is something where he's not for everyone, but
[37:19] Speaker 1: he is for them like he they love him.
[37:22] Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson loves him.
[37:23] Speaker 1: And this is one where I just loved the fantasy
[37:25] Speaker 1: situation more than the reality because it's it's a cliff
[37:29] Speaker 1: after him in terms of like Jacobe Laanin sure, it's
[37:32] Speaker 1: maybe is a fun late round prick like Bateman, like
[37:34] Speaker 1: there's other people there.
[37:34] Speaker 2: Mark Andrews, decline, all that type, but.
[37:36] Speaker 3: We just know he's going to be there.
[37:37] Speaker 1: And if they have you know, you're talking about like
[37:39] Speaker 1: the receiver who's on the field in heavy formations, it's
[37:42] Speaker 1: going to be safe flowers. So you're you're a Panthers guy,
[37:46] Speaker 1: But I want to hear T mac. I want to
[37:47] Speaker 1: hear your t Mac.
[37:48] Speaker 2: Well, I'm kind of hedging with this one.
[37:50] Speaker 4: I gotta be honest with you because everyone is over
[37:54] Speaker 4: the moon about Tedder Rogue Millon and I understand it. Right,
[37:56] Speaker 4: there's a lot of talk about getting him in the
[37:58] Speaker 4: slot and that jumping from like fifty percent to thirty percent.
[38:01] Speaker 4: And we know when you're in the slot, you get
[38:02] Speaker 4: the football. It's again you you have more manufactured space
[38:05] Speaker 4: for you. I also want to bring up that for
[38:09] Speaker 4: basically the first half of last season, Jalen Coker was
[38:12] Speaker 4: not on the field right, and since Jalen Cocher took
[38:16] Speaker 4: over in the back half or like the final six
[38:18] Speaker 4: games of last season, he and tedro mnc Millan had
[38:21] Speaker 4: the same target share and the number of targets, and
[38:24] Speaker 4: Jalen Cocher was just more productive and all that. Now,
[38:27] Speaker 4: that's not to say that he's a better wide receiver.
[38:29] Speaker 4: It's more greg that I'm a little bit nervous that
[38:32] Speaker 4: everyone is hyping up Tedror mnc Millan. And then if
[38:34] Speaker 4: he doesn't perform this year, then everyone's just gonna get
[38:37] Speaker 4: in Bryce s Young's case and be like that guy
[38:38] Speaker 4: friaking socks.
[38:39] Speaker 1: Well, yeah, panthersy guy. So you're yeah, you're you're trying
[38:42] Speaker 1: to protect your heart. I would ask you, are people
[38:47] Speaker 1: getting that excited about that's Aero McMillan, But they're not,
[38:50] Speaker 1: like this is one which.
[38:52] Speaker 2: Drafts they're not, But like the fantasy conversation.
[38:54] Speaker 1: Okay, this is one where where I could be your consultant,
[38:57] Speaker 1: you know, like your fantasy every August, jump in and
[39:01] Speaker 1: try to give you my bird's eye kind of McKinsey
[39:06] Speaker 1: like view here. And one of them would be like, oh,
[39:09] Speaker 1: I don't think people are that excited about Tetsuro mcmill
[39:12] Speaker 1: I think his profile and his ability and his like
[39:17] Speaker 1: rookie season and thinking that he can get a lot
[39:19] Speaker 1: better year two and just who he's going to be
[39:21] Speaker 1: over the next four years. That like, I was quite
[39:24] Speaker 1: surprised that he wasn't up there with a J. Brown,
[39:29] Speaker 1: with like a J Brown and Pickens at like the
[39:31] Speaker 1: two three turn. That's like where I expected a guy
[39:33] Speaker 1: with his profile to because to me, he has a
[39:36] Speaker 1: real chance to just be a top ten Fantasy Alpha
[39:41] Speaker 1: Reality Alpha for the next you know while, So I
[39:44] Speaker 1: actually thought like this is great value, like the fact
[39:46] Speaker 1: he's near you know, Abuka and guys like that.
[39:48] Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, I buy that. I mean he is truly, truly,
[39:54] Speaker 2: truly sensational. Uh.
[39:56] Speaker 4: And I actually think a the transition to Brat calling
[40:00] Speaker 4: plays has gone under the radar here where I believe
[40:03] Speaker 4: that brad Zick is going to open things up from
[40:07] Speaker 4: week one, Like it is on my radar that over
[40:10] Speaker 4: the last two years, the Panthers have started slow offensively
[40:13] Speaker 4: each time, and they were like trying to figure out
[40:15] Speaker 4: exactly what worked in the passing game. But by the
[40:17] Speaker 4: time we get to the second half of the season, you
[40:19] Speaker 4: look at the underlying numbers and Bryce Shung's one of
[40:21] Speaker 4: the best like downfield throwers in the league. What if
[40:24] Speaker 4: they just started in week one with that and both
[40:26] Speaker 4: t mac and Jaylen Coker would be huge beneficiaries of that.
[40:29] Speaker 1: And look, I know you were you're you're you're a
[40:32] Speaker 1: fan of the of the Coker You're you're one of
[40:35] Speaker 1: the coke heads back in the day, right, you gotta
[40:37] Speaker 1: be a little careful with the cooke Heads and the
[40:40] Speaker 1: Strip Club and yeah.
[40:42] Speaker 4: Yes, yes, I know, but at some point the play
[40:44] Speaker 4: on words and the bit goes a bit too far.
[40:46] Speaker 3: Yeah, things could get dangerous there.
[40:48] Speaker 1: But for people that are you know, forgetting where we
[40:51] Speaker 1: are in the show, we are in the fourth point
[40:53] Speaker 1: that fantasy footballers are getting completely wrong. And if there's
[40:56] Speaker 1: one takeaway from this show, at least what I want
[40:59] Speaker 1: them to take away from me is you need to
[41:02] Speaker 1: get all the receivers that you can out of this bucket. Pickens,
[41:06] Speaker 1: AJ Brown, A, lave Z, Flowers, T Mac, I'll throw
[41:10] Speaker 1: Higgins in there at DeVante Smith. And since we've mentioned
[41:13] Speaker 1: some of them, and I did just want to get
[41:14] Speaker 1: who stands out to you of the four more that
[41:17] Speaker 1: I'm going to include in this group of guys I
[41:19] Speaker 1: would really like to get in drafts. And I'm just
[41:21] Speaker 1: gonna keep drafting this bucket until they're gone. Lad McConkie,
[41:25] Speaker 1: I think you know, Bilo so high doesn't get that complicated.
[41:29] Speaker 1: I think the signs are all really good for Ladd
[41:32] Speaker 1: McConkie this year versus last year. Jalen Wattle very happy
[41:37] Speaker 1: if I end up with him, Garrett Wilson, and I
[41:40] Speaker 1: think I'm gonna throw DJ Moore in there too. From
[41:42] Speaker 1: a fantasy perspective, just some thoughts on those guys and
[41:46] Speaker 1: who stands out to you out of them.
[41:49] Speaker 4: If your viewers and listeners promise to go watch my
[41:52] Speaker 4: YouTube video after this again with the fourteen players that
[41:54] Speaker 4: I'm cutting my fantasy season on.
[41:56] Speaker 2: Jalen Watta was one of those names.
[41:57] Speaker 4: That's my favorite Round four pick for a number of reasons,
[42:01] Speaker 4: Like you can look at the again the nerd metrics
[42:04] Speaker 4: that we like with the over four yards per route
[42:06] Speaker 4: runoff play action last year, which was a down season
[42:08] Speaker 4: for the Dolphins. The Broncos had the third most passes
[42:11] Speaker 4: off play action in the NFL last year. And then
[42:14] Speaker 4: you know he was wide receiver eighteen in points per
[42:17] Speaker 4: game on an offense that was thirty first in place,
[42:19] Speaker 4: and now he goes to one that is fifth in place.
[42:21] Speaker 4: Like there's such a big difference. Courtland Sutton ran six
[42:24] Speaker 4: hundred and sixty four routes last year, greg Jalen Wattle
[42:27] Speaker 4: only ran four hundred and forty two, a difference of
[42:30] Speaker 4: two hundred and twenty routes between the two guys, and
[42:32] Speaker 4: those are just going to be given to Jalen Wattle.
[42:35] Speaker 4: With the hope that he doesn't hobble off and find
[42:37] Speaker 4: the blue tent every other game, which has kind of
[42:39] Speaker 4: been his history. But at the same time, like this
[42:42] Speaker 4: is exactly the player that Sean Payton's been a first
[42:45] Speaker 4: round pick on to change what this passing game is
[42:47] Speaker 4: going to be, to take it to the next level.
[42:49] Speaker 4: And when you think about this offense, it's crossing routes,
[42:52] Speaker 4: it's screens, it's vertical routes, Like that is Jalen Wattle's game, right,
[42:56] Speaker 4: So it's like a hand in hand fit. And I
[42:58] Speaker 4: think there's a real chance that we look back and
[43:00] Speaker 4: say he should have been a second round pick.
[43:02] Speaker 3: Love that. I agree.
[43:04] Speaker 1: You convinced me of the group I gave you he
[43:06] Speaker 1: would be my favorite. I think he's got a higher
[43:08] Speaker 1: ceiling than anyone in that tier. I think he's got
[43:12] Speaker 1: a higher ceiling than t Higgins, Like he absolutely could
[43:14] Speaker 1: be one hundred catch like monster yardage season.
[43:18] Speaker 3: I like them all though. I think they're good picks.
[43:21] Speaker 1: A little bit of injury risks, I guess with mconkie
[43:24] Speaker 1: and Waddle, like they're similar, But this season, being at
[43:27] Speaker 1: Chargers camp and just what I've read and seen, I
[43:30] Speaker 1: think McConkie's in a better place.
[43:31] Speaker 3: Okay.
[43:32] Speaker 1: So the reason I put all those names up there
[43:34] Speaker 1: is I like each and every one of them better
[43:37] Speaker 1: than each and every one of the running backs that
[43:40] Speaker 1: I mentioned. And that's how we're going to close the show,
[43:41] Speaker 1: is going through some of the running backs and why
[43:45] Speaker 1: I wanted to stay away from them. Kim Scattabho's actually
[43:47] Speaker 1: the craziest one to me. Granted, his injury is one
[43:53] Speaker 1: that you know, the broken leg that you can come
[43:58] Speaker 1: back from and look one hundred percent, and so far
[44:00] Speaker 1: he looks good. He's playing in the preseason. Like, I
[44:04] Speaker 1: just think it's crazy to take him that high, even
[44:07] Speaker 1: if you're throwing the injury of it all aside size,
[44:11] Speaker 1: total ability, whether that backfield gets crowded, whether his running
[44:16] Speaker 1: style can really work in the NFL. I'm this is
[44:20] Speaker 1: where we get back to good player. Like he's obviously
[44:23] Speaker 1: a good he's good at playing football, But is he
[44:25] Speaker 1: going to be like a highly effective NFL player over
[44:29] Speaker 1: his career and even over this season.
[44:32] Speaker 3: I got my doubt. I got my doubts about that.
[44:34] Speaker 1: I do not think he's going to be the super
[44:35] Speaker 1: nova statistically that he was a year ago at all.
[44:39] Speaker 4: So, if you ask me to be negative norse, here
[44:41] Speaker 4: I can do with Kim Kattabu. Okay, so you mentioned
[44:44] Speaker 4: the injury. This is a dislocated right ankle, fractured fibula
[44:49] Speaker 4: and ruptured his deltoid ligament on.
[44:51] Speaker 2: Top of it.
[44:51] Speaker 3: Okay, forgot about the ligament part.
[44:53] Speaker 4: Yeah, So there were four players in recent memory that
[44:57] Speaker 4: did that, and it was Tony Pollard, Mark Andrews, Chris
[44:59] Speaker 4: got when In, Isaiah Pacheco, and all declined drastically massively
[45:05] Speaker 4: in their fantasy points the next season. Now they were
[45:08] Speaker 4: on the field, you just didn't see it in your
[45:10] Speaker 4: fantasy scores.
[45:11] Speaker 2: The other part of this is if you put your
[45:13] Speaker 2: ear to the ground.
[45:14] Speaker 4: Starting in March, the Giants were on the look for
[45:18] Speaker 4: like a big time asset at running back. Right there
[45:21] Speaker 4: were the Ken Walker mentions, that Travis a Chan mentions,
[45:24] Speaker 4: the Jeremiah Love and the NFL draft all that, and
[45:27] Speaker 4: then even the beat Riders two weeks ago were saying that, hey,
[45:30] Speaker 4: they're going to make a move for a running back
[45:32] Speaker 4: prior to the season starting, and I guess that move
[45:35] Speaker 4: is Najie Harris. And while some people might laugh at that,
[45:38] Speaker 4: we also need to think of you know, we spent
[45:40] Speaker 4: the season, albeit maybe six weeks with Greg Roman until
[45:43] Speaker 4: he had his injury, But that means something to Cam Skataboo,
[45:48] Speaker 4: who needs just about I think everything in this offense.
[45:51] Speaker 4: Now they're gonna run the football a lot, but touchdowns
[45:54] Speaker 4: are going to matter so much for him here that
[45:56] Speaker 4: even if two or three or four go in the
[45:58] Speaker 4: direction of Naji Harris, that would be a sizeable shift
[46:02] Speaker 4: I think in the output for a season totally.
[46:04] Speaker 1: And they have some similarities in terms of their skill set.
[46:07] Speaker 1: I don't think they trust necessarily that Cam Scataboo's running
[46:13] Speaker 1: style and size are going to hold up over the season.
[46:16] Speaker 1: So they need other options, and I think it'll be
[46:19] Speaker 1: spread around more than people expect, and I actually think
[46:23] Speaker 1: there'll be a good running team and so that's a
[46:25] Speaker 1: plus for him. But that's to me, it's crazy town
[46:29] Speaker 1: taking him in the third round or wherever he's going
[46:31] Speaker 1: like he to me, is like a sixth seventh round
[46:35] Speaker 1: type of running back. So the wide receivers I mentioned,
[46:38] Speaker 1: like I said, just to make it clean, I'm saying
[46:40] Speaker 1: I would take them all over this tier. But you
[46:43] Speaker 1: said negative Norris. If we want negative Norris out Let's
[46:46] Speaker 1: not include Jeremiah Love, who I do have questions about
[46:51] Speaker 1: the role.
[46:52] Speaker 2: His rookie debut was extremely impressive. He's one of those,
[46:55] Speaker 2: is it, Greg Was it? Yeah? I mean I have
[46:58] Speaker 2: this reason.
[46:59] Speaker 3: Yeah, I have my doubts about that.
[47:02] Speaker 2: Oh interesting, okay to me.
[47:05] Speaker 4: I love the angle routes that he was getting versus
[47:07] Speaker 4: you know, just manufactured receptions three yards behind the line
[47:11] Speaker 4: of scrimmage. Instead those were five yards beyond the line
[47:13] Speaker 4: of scrimmage with all the wide receivers pushing down the field.
[47:15] Speaker 4: So that's an easy one. But and you have a
[47:19] Speaker 4: different opinion of this, But that's fine. His usage and
[47:23] Speaker 4: how he looked made me move him up, but then
[47:27] Speaker 4: the injury basically made me reset exactly back to where
[47:29] Speaker 4: I already.
[47:30] Speaker 2: Was ranking him.
[47:32] Speaker 1: I'm conflicted. I had I loved him as a prospect.
[47:35] Speaker 1: I do love him as a player. I just like
[47:38] Speaker 1: him less in fantasy. Just watching that game, I just
[47:42] Speaker 1: thought he looked like a rookie in his first game
[47:45] Speaker 1: where he was like a little tentative, and he warmed
[47:46] Speaker 1: up as it went, and he's gonna like have some
[47:49] Speaker 1: jaw dropping plays. He's going to be an incredible pro
[47:52] Speaker 1: I think, but I think at that price, like second
[47:55] Speaker 1: third round, comparing him to what else is out there,
[47:58] Speaker 1: I think it's a little crazy because I think Algier,
[48:01] Speaker 1: I think other running backs are going to get the
[48:03] Speaker 1: ball there. They're gonna be careful with him. He might
[48:05] Speaker 1: be a little tentative. And then a high ankle sprain.
[48:07] Speaker 4: Injected for the lowest points. I mean their schedule up
[48:09] Speaker 4: until week eleven, it's for an absolute nightmare.
[48:12] Speaker 1: And then the high ankle sprain going into the season. Like,
[48:16] Speaker 1: I get you, we're not trying to like overreact injuries
[48:18] Speaker 1: and stuff, but there are so many players that don't
[48:21] Speaker 1: have high ankle sprain's going into the season that you
[48:23] Speaker 1: can draft. So it's like, once you already know that,
[48:26] Speaker 1: then I don't want to deal with it.
[48:27] Speaker 3: It's one thing to be coming off of it the
[48:29] Speaker 3: previous year. It's one.
[48:30] Speaker 1: It's a it's a very different thing to have it
[48:32] Speaker 1: right now. Whereas to me, I would I would move
[48:35] Speaker 1: him way down of the rest of this group.
[48:37] Speaker 3: I mean, Josh Jacobs, yuck. I want no part of him.
[48:40] Speaker 1: I think he's like not draftable, like anywhere near where
[48:44] Speaker 1: you would need to take him.
[48:46] Speaker 3: Breis Hall Dvante Williams.
[48:49] Speaker 1: I'm not going to be as angry, but I still
[48:51] Speaker 1: want the receivers more Bucky Irving, DeAndre Swift, We're getting deeper,
[48:55] Speaker 1: Ian Travis a chin like. Of these guys, where do
[48:59] Speaker 1: you want to bring out the negative norse?
[49:01] Speaker 3: And where do you want to tell me I'm wrong too?
[49:03] Speaker 1: What?
[49:04] Speaker 3: We can finish the show with a little back and
[49:06] Speaker 3: forth on these guys.
[49:08] Speaker 2: The one I actually like the most of that group
[49:10] Speaker 2: is Breeze Hall.
[49:10] Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, me too.
[49:12] Speaker 4: If anyone told you that Brisall is coming off a
[49:15] Speaker 4: career high in rushing yards, you would think they're ridiculous,
[49:19] Speaker 4: But it's true he is. Now that only equaled the
[49:22] Speaker 4: running back twenty and scoring last year in points per game,
[49:25] Speaker 4: and once again it's back to because he only had
[49:28] Speaker 4: five touchdowns. So I am not a Frank Wright guy.
[49:32] Speaker 4: That's pretty clear. I'm really nervous about how he's going
[49:35] Speaker 4: to be able to handle all these pieces. But at
[49:38] Speaker 4: the very least, every word around Jets training camp prior
[49:42] Speaker 4: to this growing strain or whatever it is, is that hey,
[49:45] Speaker 4: we're gonna get belcow workload from Breshall the Jets last
[49:48] Speaker 4: year were twenty ninth and touchdowns per game twenty ninth
[49:51] Speaker 4: in red zone drives per game thirty first, and red
[49:54] Speaker 4: zone touchdown success rate. I just hope that they can
[49:56] Speaker 4: inch slightly closer to league average.
[50:00] Speaker 2: Greg, we talk about.
[50:01] Speaker 4: You know, a team being twentieth in scoring versus twenty
[50:05] Speaker 4: six versus sixteenth and all this stuff. Really, you just
[50:07] Speaker 4: don't want to draft someone that is on a bottom
[50:09] Speaker 4: three scoring offense. Yeah, and I don't think the Jets
[50:12] Speaker 4: are going to be a bottom three scoring offense like
[50:14] Speaker 4: they were last year. I trust your guy Gino enough
[50:16] Speaker 4: to do this, and most importantly, I trust the offensive
[50:20] Speaker 4: line to be really good and above average. And if
[50:23] Speaker 4: that's the case, that is a good enough ecosystem to
[50:26] Speaker 4: have this thing be the twenty third, twenty fourth scoring offense.
[50:30] Speaker 4: And that's a great environment for Brisol to I think outproduce.
[50:33] Speaker 4: Where he's going as the eleventh pick of the third round.
[50:36] Speaker 1: The groinstrain worries me a little bit. The question with
[50:39] Speaker 1: him coming into the draft, like, oh, would he be
[50:41] Speaker 1: like a bellcow back? Now do you look at his
[50:44] Speaker 1: first three years and ultimately take away like he kind
[50:48] Speaker 1: of has been. I mean, he's been as consistent as
[50:50] Speaker 1: it gets in terms of total touches a year after year,
[50:52] Speaker 1: so you have to give him credit. Maybe I'm overreacting
[50:55] Speaker 1: a little to the groinstrain, like he's not on a
[50:58] Speaker 1: do not draft list for me, Like it's not crazy
[51:01] Speaker 1: town to take him in the fourth round, and like
[51:03] Speaker 1: even late in the third I just still like my
[51:06] Speaker 1: receivers better. So that's the one you disagree the most.
[51:10] Speaker 1: Let's wrap with like of those guys, Javonte, Bucky eight
[51:14] Speaker 1: chan to, like, is there is there one you're you
[51:17] Speaker 1: agree with me is getting taken to.
[51:21] Speaker 4: It's probably Javante. And you know I do the show
[51:25] Speaker 4: with Hayden, and to me, Javante is just like hitting
[51:28] Speaker 4: a double, Like, Hey, if if I can draft the
[51:32] Speaker 4: running back thirteen at a running back sixteen price, hag,
[51:35] Speaker 4: I'll do that every single time I get that line
[51:37] Speaker 4: every single show we talk about Javonte Woyde. To me, Greg,
[51:41] Speaker 4: maybe I'm dumb enough, but I think I'm smart enough
[51:44] Speaker 4: to say to myself, Hey, in the third round, I
[51:47] Speaker 4: could potentially draft a player that winds up top five
[51:50] Speaker 4: at his position, right, because that's what wins leagues is
[51:53] Speaker 4: when you draft someone fifteenth at their position that actually
[51:56] Speaker 4: winds up as fifth, or you draft someone thirty fifth
[51:59] Speaker 4: of their position that winds up fifteenth. Right, It's not
[52:02] Speaker 4: these small wins or small gains. And I just don't
[52:04] Speaker 4: see how Javonte Williams does that.
[52:07] Speaker 1: Right, If they have the number one offense in the
[52:09] Speaker 1: league and he scores you know, James Cook level touchdown.
[52:13] Speaker 4: Fourteen touchdowns, yes, then that's another route.
[52:16] Speaker 3: That's the route.
[52:17] Speaker 4: But that is I think the only route, Like it's not. Hey,
[52:20] Speaker 4: if they actually wind up a little bit worse, then
[52:22] Speaker 4: he can go out there and have a whole bunch
[52:23] Speaker 4: of receiving yards. He's not that back anymore. So I
[52:27] Speaker 4: just think, and this might be my bias standing in
[52:29] Speaker 4: front here, that I remember the prospect he was coming
[52:33] Speaker 4: out of you and see, and he's just like, not
[52:35] Speaker 4: even close to that player anymore. Albeit he has gotten
[52:38] Speaker 4: a little bit better than he was in the Broncos days,
[52:40] Speaker 4: He's just a volume sponge and I don't really want
[52:42] Speaker 4: to take a volume sponge at that spot.
[52:44] Speaker 3: You've kind of convinced me off him.
[52:45] Speaker 1: Not that I was going to take him, because again,
[52:47] Speaker 1: I'm not taking running backs in the third or exactly right,
[52:49] Speaker 1: but of those guys, I was closer to Hayden on that, Like, yeah,
[52:53] Speaker 1: I think he's at least a double. But if I
[52:55] Speaker 1: listen to myself and think how great is he actually
[52:59] Speaker 1: as an NFL player? Plus, by low so high, you
[53:02] Speaker 1: are buying a little high on Javonte To me, I don't.
[53:05] Speaker 1: I just don't hate him as much. Bucky Irving to
[53:07] Speaker 1: me is a disastrous pick that seems totally insane to
[53:11] Speaker 1: me in that backfield. Does he even finish second or
[53:14] Speaker 1: third and Fantasy points on that team? I feel like
[53:16] Speaker 1: that's possible. I'm not sure how good Bucky Irving is.
[53:19] Speaker 1: I'm not sure how good that running game is gonna
[53:21] Speaker 1: be with Zach Robinson and everything.
[53:23] Speaker 3: Like, I don't.
[53:25] Speaker 1: I don't like that pick whatsoever, just like I don't
[53:28] Speaker 1: like the Scataboo pick. The way that you put that
[53:32] Speaker 1: together though, of like how fantasy is won, it's not
[53:35] Speaker 1: by getting the RB twelve value out of RB fifteen
[53:40] Speaker 1: that that's uh, that's why you're the man, Like, that's
[53:43] Speaker 1: why people people love the show.
[53:46] Speaker 3: You're one of the best at what you do. Appreciate you, Josh.
[53:49] Speaker 4: Of course, Greg, And now most people listen to the show,
[53:51] Speaker 4: you know, go into it saying that they are on
[53:53] Speaker 4: Haynen side, and they ended by saying, they're on my
[53:55] Speaker 4: side just like you, So I appreciate that.
[53:57] Speaker 1: I love that you're taking shots at your co host,
[53:59] Speaker 1: but he's not even here to defend. And we'll have
[54:01] Speaker 1: to have hate it on next time too. We should
[54:03] Speaker 1: all right, that's not the last Fantasy preview. I didn't,
[54:06] Speaker 1: you know, look at this one as like the full
[54:08] Speaker 1: scale everything you need to know. This was more, you know,
[54:12] Speaker 1: just a few things off. This one is getting your
[54:15] Speaker 1: takes off exactly well. And we got your takes along
[54:17] Speaker 1: the way, and I think those were probably more valuable.
[54:20] Speaker 3: So that's it.
[54:21] Speaker 1: It's been a great week here at NFL Daily. We
[54:24] Speaker 1: will be back. One of my favorite shows of the
[54:27] Speaker 1: year is the preseason Week two recap show. We are
[54:31] Speaker 1: doing it live Nick Chuk and I eight pm Eastern,
[54:35] Speaker 1: five pm Pacific. Check us out on YouTube. It's all
[54:38] Speaker 1: sixteen games. It's the preseason week that matters the most.
[54:40] Speaker 1: There's gonna be a lot of fun takeaways. We are
[54:43] Speaker 1: so close to real football. We will see that
