[0:00] Speaker 1: It's a tough sports, not for everybody.
[0:01] Speaker 2: You gotta be a little sick to love this game.
[0:03] Speaker 2: And we got some picos.
[0:06] Speaker 3: Welcome to NFL Daily, where Andrew Van Ginkole definitely qualifies
[0:10] Speaker 3: as an edge I'm Greg Rosenthal, I'm with Oli Connolly.
[0:13] Speaker 3: It's Sicko season, that means ranking season. While other shows
[0:17] Speaker 3: are doing quarterbacks in mid May, we're going deep top
[0:21] Speaker 3: thirty two edge rushers. That's right, it's the NFL Daily
[0:24] Speaker 3: thirty two. Our running segment and our conversation before the
[0:28] Speaker 3: show started was just making sure Ali that Van Gangle
[0:31] Speaker 3: counts as an edge rusher before we do this voting.
[0:34] Speaker 1: You could take them first over off you want it.
[0:36] Speaker 4: It's in play. It's certainly in play. I love me
[0:39] Speaker 4: some Van Ginkel. I love doing this with you. I
[0:41] Speaker 4: love spending my off season having everyone call me a
[0:44] Speaker 4: fool and a clown and all the things. I'm being
[0:45] Speaker 4: cold as I remind people, this is a somewhat projection
[0:49] Speaker 4: on where we see the league right now. Who would
[0:51] Speaker 4: take sat here today for next season, not just stay
[0:55] Speaker 4: reflection on last season. I do think these rankings really interesting.
[0:59] Speaker 4: What if I just said who had the best twenty
[1:01] Speaker 4: twenty five film plus numbers compared to a slight projection
[1:05] Speaker 4: of what it would look like to twenty twenty six.
[1:07] Speaker 4: Who could be breakout plays, who gonna lead from one
[1:09] Speaker 4: to to the other. That was where I was having
[1:11] Speaker 4: the panic attacks last night and the sleepless nights trying
[1:13] Speaker 4: to put this thing together.
[1:15] Speaker 3: It is a different ranking, and that's why I ultimately
[1:19] Speaker 3: only care about the people that are listening. The people
[1:21] Speaker 3: commenting on social you know, they're not getting the full context,
[1:25] Speaker 3: but it is a balance between how they finished last year.
[1:30] Speaker 3: That would be an interesting exercise too, just who was
[1:32] Speaker 3: the best? I think you can give that sort of
[1:34] Speaker 3: context when we're explaining the players, but also, yeah, a
[1:37] Speaker 3: look forward of who we would want in twenty twenty six.
[1:42] Speaker 3: And yes, at the edge position, so it's not three
[1:44] Speaker 3: four defensive ends, rookies are eligible and the you know,
[1:49] Speaker 3: last time we did offensive lines, previously we did coaches.
[1:52] Speaker 3: This is the first just like solo players, rookies eligible,
[1:56] Speaker 3: but a tough position to crack a top thirty two list.
[1:59] Speaker 3: So we'll see if a rook even makes this list.
[2:01] Speaker 3: And without any further ado, I'm going to give you
[2:03] Speaker 3: the first overall pick, Ali I'm feeling generous today.
[2:07] Speaker 4: You're such a gentleman with the first overall pick. I
[2:10] Speaker 4: will take Miles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, who is
[2:14] Speaker 4: I think quite clearly, quite complete, the most dominant one
[2:17] Speaker 4: on one ed rush from the league. Obviously broke the
[2:20] Speaker 4: sack record last year. He has one of the most
[2:22] Speaker 4: absurd pressure to sack rates over the totality of his career.
[2:25] Speaker 4: I don't think there's going to be any sound decline
[2:27] Speaker 4: for a long long time. He is more than anyone else.
[2:31] Speaker 4: Him and microwd boocket together as the guys who tilt
[2:33] Speaker 4: the entire geometry of the field more than anyone else.
[2:36] Speaker 4: When you look at how teams have to try and
[2:37] Speaker 4: offset them what they do, I would say with Micah
[2:40] Speaker 4: it's as much about the individual mechanics of do we
[2:43] Speaker 4: chip him, do we double him? I think Garrett has
[2:45] Speaker 4: more of a global impact on the entirety of the
[2:48] Speaker 4: game plan in teams just deciding there are things off
[2:50] Speaker 4: the menu for us this week that are traditionally on
[2:52] Speaker 4: the menu for us. Because that guy's there, he gets
[2:54] Speaker 4: to us so quickly, so I just think that he
[2:56] Speaker 4: does still sit in in a cat'sgro of his own yeah.
[2:59] Speaker 3: We happen to be at one of his quieter games
[3:01] Speaker 3: of the year in London, and yet even then you
[3:03] Speaker 3: could just watch it from the Live All twenty two.
[3:05] Speaker 3: How the entire plan of the opposition is all about
[3:09] Speaker 3: stopping Miles Garrett. And you mentioned with the chips and
[3:13] Speaker 3: the double teams next time, and stats keeps tracks of that,
[3:15] Speaker 3: and percentage wise, he still did face the most double
[3:20] Speaker 3: teams plus chips of any player in the league. And
[3:23] Speaker 3: number two and that stat is Michael Parsons and there's
[3:25] Speaker 3: a decent gap between him Parsons and number three. So
[3:29] Speaker 3: NFL teams are telling us what they think that they
[3:32] Speaker 3: agree and why not get Andrew Siciliano into the show.
[3:36] Speaker 3: I mean, if if Miles Garrett is gonna set an
[3:38] Speaker 3: all time record and one of our friends gets to
[3:40] Speaker 3: call it, I want to listen to that call on
[3:42] Speaker 3: the show.
[3:43] Speaker 2: Five twenty remaining in this game, Brouns up five. Bengals
[3:46] Speaker 2: have it first out of the rounds forty five yard line.
[3:49] Speaker 1: Borough shotgun on them. He got them there.
[3:54] Speaker 2: It is Miles Garrett sack number twenty three, new single
[4:01] Speaker 2: season sack king and the Browns defense mops their man
[4:07] Speaker 2: at the Cincinnati forty five yard line.
[4:12] Speaker 3: I kind of forgot that's a close game and the
[4:14] Speaker 3: drama was building. It took him a while to get
[4:16] Speaker 3: that finals, like only five minutes left there in the
[4:19] Speaker 3: entire season, and Garrett gets a meaningful sack. So a
[4:21] Speaker 3: cool way to finish only six in total pressures. You
[4:25] Speaker 3: mentioned the pressure to sack, Yeah, he was. He had
[4:26] Speaker 3: the highest pressure to sack ratio of like anyone in
[4:29] Speaker 3: the league over thirty or forty pressures last year. He
[4:32] Speaker 3: finishes plays off and that's that's kind of been a
[4:34] Speaker 3: trait for him.
[4:35] Speaker 4: It is Brendon Thune who runs the trench Wolf a substack,
[4:39] Speaker 4: which is outstanding folkses on line plate. He tracks every
[4:42] Speaker 4: single pressure in the league and he starts to put
[4:45] Speaker 4: scores together for what is a high quality pressure a sack,
[4:48] Speaker 4: what's low quality, what's more coverage base, what's more scheme based,
[4:51] Speaker 4: And it really helps you to isolate out who is
[4:54] Speaker 4: winning one on one. Matt tubs over and over again.
[4:56] Speaker 4: They're doing it against great competition and they beating them
[4:58] Speaker 4: on backups. He puts together a sex which kind of
[5:00] Speaker 4: gives a point system to all those things I just mentioned,
[5:03] Speaker 4: and usually anything above a ten is outstanding. Anything that's
[5:06] Speaker 4: a fifteen is traditionally the mark for defensive player of
[5:09] Speaker 4: the year. Miles Garrett finished with a twenty one point
[5:12] Speaker 4: five sex goal last season, which is the best on record.
[5:15] Speaker 4: So even within that SEC record you just mentioned, all
[5:18] Speaker 4: the chips, all the extra help that the changing of
[5:20] Speaker 4: the entire game plan to get it with the amount
[5:23] Speaker 4: of attension that he got last seasons one of the
[5:25] Speaker 4: most ludicrous things I think we'll see covering the sport.
[5:28] Speaker 3: So we're projecting for twenty twenty six, and injuries have
[5:32] Speaker 3: to be a little bit of a factor, So that
[5:33] Speaker 3: does change my number two overall pick, and I'm going
[5:35] Speaker 3: to take Will Anderson.
[5:37] Speaker 1: He's gotten better every year.
[5:39] Speaker 3: I kind of wish I gave myself one so then
[5:42] Speaker 3: I could have just seen what you did with number two.
[5:46] Speaker 3: I just think it's a little underrated how much better
[5:49] Speaker 3: he got. Specifically last year. There was this idea that
[5:52] Speaker 3: Will Anderson somehow had a lower ceiling than maybe a
[5:56] Speaker 3: Garrett or a Michael Parson like and maybe that is true,
[5:59] Speaker 3: but just in terms of total pressures, like he went
[6:02] Speaker 3: from PFF from sixty eight to one hundred and two,
[6:05] Speaker 3: and like second and next gen like fourth in terms
[6:09] Speaker 3: of quick pressures. He's always been good against the run.
[6:13] Speaker 3: He started just forcing fumbles at a ridiculous rate. He's
[6:16] Speaker 3: second and defensive player of the year, And so I
[6:19] Speaker 3: thought about his importance to the Texans in general.
[6:23] Speaker 1: Look, they double team Daniel Hunter.
[6:24] Speaker 3: It's a lot too and it's a good spot to
[6:27] Speaker 3: be that he is going to be the Texans is
[6:29] Speaker 3: franchise Larry Fitzgerald like that. He's going to be the
[6:33] Speaker 3: most important guy in that franchise for like a decade.
[6:36] Speaker 3: And maybe, like Fitzgerald, will have a career where he's
[6:40] Speaker 3: usually the second or third best player in the league
[6:42] Speaker 3: at his position. But it's so consistent at doing that.
[6:46] Speaker 3: He's gotten better every year, so he could continue to
[6:48] Speaker 3: get better. Do you think that, Well, we'll see with
[6:51] Speaker 3: your your number three pick. It feels weird to take
[6:53] Speaker 3: him over Micah, but coming off the injuries that Micah has,
[6:56] Speaker 3: I feel fine about it.
[6:58] Speaker 4: I think it's hard for mteven getny Beta. I think
[7:00] Speaker 4: he's an unbelievable dominant player. To get any better, it
[7:02] Speaker 4: would be to go and break the sack record that
[7:04] Speaker 4: Miles Garrett just did. I think he might be the
[7:06] Speaker 4: most technically sound and impactful run defender in the league,
[7:09] Speaker 4: regardless of position. I don't think he's pretty good at
[7:11] Speaker 4: a run defender. I think he's the very best, and
[7:13] Speaker 4: I do love the For all the technical skill, all
[7:15] Speaker 4: the physical skill he has, he also brings his best
[7:17] Speaker 4: ball in the biggest spots. That really matters to me
[7:19] Speaker 4: for the ed Russian guys, when you go up against
[7:21] Speaker 4: the best competition, can you win one on one when
[7:23] Speaker 4: it's third and must have it for the season, You
[7:25] Speaker 4: get all the extra at tension. Can you bring it
[7:27] Speaker 4: over and over again? Sixty nine percent of his drives
[7:30] Speaker 4: of his sacks last season killed drives, So Danil does
[7:33] Speaker 4: get a lot of the attention. He's an unbelievable player
[7:35] Speaker 4: in his own right. But when it was closing time
[7:37] Speaker 4: for the best defense in football for last chunks of
[7:39] Speaker 4: the season, it was Will Anderson who took over. And
[7:42] Speaker 4: that's what you want in the kind of dominant one
[7:43] Speaker 4: on one passership.
[7:45] Speaker 3: Justice for Nick Tosario, you know, trader Nick. I mean
[7:49] Speaker 3: his drafts have aged pretty well and mine will too.
[7:53] Speaker 3: All right, you're up with number three.
[7:55] Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Mike. I can't believe he's on the
[7:57] Speaker 4: board at three. This is wonderful. I did think I'd
[7:58] Speaker 4: be able to do the Garrett and in double dip,
[8:01] Speaker 4: I would have taken Anderson third of role.
[8:02] Speaker 1: I'll take Mikeah Parsons.
[8:03] Speaker 4: You're not you didn't take him second purely because of
[8:06] Speaker 4: injury concerns.
[8:07] Speaker 1: That yeah, that was it. I mean he might miss
[8:09] Speaker 1: like five six games this year. I'll I'll take really Anderson.
[8:13] Speaker 3: I guess you know, the the activity here is a
[8:16] Speaker 3: little vague of what exactly we're ranging, but I'm thinking
[8:19] Speaker 3: for twenty twenty six. Yeah, I'd rather have a guy
[8:22] Speaker 3: that I think is going to be available. Freak me
[8:24] Speaker 3: out a little. When Adam Schefter said he might start
[8:26] Speaker 3: on the pup list.
[8:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, that is concerning. But when he is on the field,
[8:30] Speaker 4: there are very few forces like him. I do think
[8:33] Speaker 4: he's got some more versatility that Will Anderson would have.
[8:35] Speaker 4: I think if you're putting them side by side, the
[8:37] Speaker 4: fact you can move Mike Parsons around, you can just
[8:39] Speaker 4: get to different things structurally as a defense. Even last year,
[8:42] Speaker 4: the Packers were throwing out things that were just kind
[8:44] Speaker 4: of like designed to freak out offensive lines. That wasn't
[8:47] Speaker 4: even great theory or rationale behind it. But you can
[8:49] Speaker 4: get away with that stuff because he's such an unbelievable speeds,
[8:52] Speaker 4: a off the ball, unbelievable technician in his own right.
[8:55] Speaker 4: I just think is a one on one pass for
[8:57] Speaker 4: a shift you are having a rep for your life,
[9:00] Speaker 4: it would be Gyret that it would be Passon's. I
[9:02] Speaker 4: think its like reliability. He's just going to find a
[9:05] Speaker 4: way to get the jomp done.
[9:07] Speaker 3: He is the best defensive player I think to come
[9:11] Speaker 3: in the league since jj Watta. I always think about
[9:14] Speaker 3: just the era quote unquote that I've covered playing football,
[9:18] Speaker 3: and what would jj Watt would still be number one
[9:20] Speaker 3: for me as just the most impressive player in the
[9:23] Speaker 3: first let's say three or four seasons entering the league.
[9:26] Speaker 3: On defense end, Parsons would be two and nothing he
[9:29] Speaker 3: has done at any point would stop me, which makes
[9:32] Speaker 3: me wonder why did I wait to take him immediately?
[9:36] Speaker 1: Just the aggression.
[9:37] Speaker 3: I just love how every snap feels like the last
[9:40] Speaker 3: snap of his life somehow, even more than the other
[9:43] Speaker 3: guys at the top of this list, which is crazy
[9:45] Speaker 3: to say because a lot of them are all time players.
[9:47] Speaker 3: They are the best at what they do, and yet
[9:49] Speaker 3: he even seemed I don't know if he's trying harder,
[9:52] Speaker 3: but he somehow is just more of a maniac than
[9:55] Speaker 3: the rest of them, at least to me.
[9:56] Speaker 1: I agree with that.
[9:57] Speaker 4: I think he creates more consistent chaos and won the
[10:00] Speaker 4: league and that things just look like a mess in
[10:02] Speaker 4: the backfield by his presence. And with Gary, he just
[10:05] Speaker 4: will throw people aside, He'll dip rown someone, he'll flat
[10:08] Speaker 4: in the quote back. But I think, just like general,
[10:10] Speaker 4: an explosion and eruption of bodies just in his like
[10:14] Speaker 4: all bit, I think the passins has that different kind
[10:17] Speaker 4: of gid he can tap into more regularly.
[10:20] Speaker 1: So that's Tier one to me.
[10:22] Speaker 3: There is a drop off, and I think you could
[10:24] Speaker 3: take a number of different guys here in this next
[10:26] Speaker 3: year five or six. I'm gonna I'm gonna take a
[10:29] Speaker 3: guy that has an incredible stamina. It's Aiden Hutchinson, And
[10:33] Speaker 3: you said playing his best when it matters the most.
[10:36] Speaker 3: He had more pressures in the fourth quarters of games
[10:40] Speaker 3: last year than any player in the next gen stats era.
[10:44] Speaker 3: He was It was an incredible closer. He is a
[10:47] Speaker 3: little less efficient than some of like the three guys
[10:51] Speaker 3: that went ahead of him, but you could also look
[10:54] Speaker 3: at the amount of snaps that he plays as a plus,
[10:57] Speaker 3: you know, like he just never leaves the field, So yeah,
[11:00] Speaker 3: he's gonna he's gonna miss some stack tackles. I hate
[11:03] Speaker 3: even you know, picking knits with a guy like this,
[11:06] Speaker 3: Like the quick pressures, the time to pressure are just
[11:09] Speaker 3: like a little bit less. But he is also getting
[11:12] Speaker 3: a ton of attention. He faced the third most chips
[11:15] Speaker 3: of any edge in the league. And ultimately, like he
[11:20] Speaker 3: he is the cliche, he he is gonna like if
[11:23] Speaker 3: he is blocked initially, he really will keep going. And
[11:26] Speaker 3: so just the consistency, I found it a little easier
[11:30] Speaker 3: to knock a hole into the rest of this tier
[11:32] Speaker 3: that I wasn't feeling with Hutchinson.
[11:34] Speaker 1: So I feel good about him at four.
[11:36] Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's a He was the fourth guy
[11:38] Speaker 4: on my body. And he also carries probably the heaviest
[11:41] Speaker 4: pass rushing burden of any of these guys we've talked
[11:43] Speaker 4: about already. You mentioned just the volume of snaps, what's.
[11:46] Speaker 1: Required of him.
[11:47] Speaker 4: He's probably a little bit more one note than those
[11:50] Speaker 4: other three guys, I would say, And what he does
[11:52] Speaker 4: and it is a lot of eff and hustle and
[11:54] Speaker 4: so the pressure figures get juiced and some of the
[11:56] Speaker 4: closing stuff isn't there. He really does just demolish when
[11:59] Speaker 4: it's one who's at his level, off slightly below, he demolishes,
[12:03] Speaker 4: tackles one on one. When it's the really truly elite,
[12:05] Speaker 4: he can have some quiet weeks, I think in a
[12:07] Speaker 4: way that Parsons doesn't really have, or Anderson doesn't really have,
[12:11] Speaker 4: So that would be the one knock on him. I
[12:13] Speaker 4: think that would push him into a second tier. But
[12:15] Speaker 4: I think it's it's perfectly fair to have him at
[12:17] Speaker 4: kind of the top of that second tier.
[12:18] Speaker 3: Yeah, and he a lot put on his shoulders in Detroit,
[12:23] Speaker 3: just as like kind of almost the face of this era.
[12:26] Speaker 3: And for him to deliver as well as he has
[12:28] Speaker 3: like that, that counts for something too. In a very
[12:31] Speaker 3: similar way I think to Will Anderson, where it's just
[12:33] Speaker 3: like they were counting on him to be that dude
[12:36] Speaker 3: and then they actually delivered at that level. That is
[12:38] Speaker 3: that it's hard to find. I don't know where you're
[12:40] Speaker 3: going here at number five. This is to me the
[12:42] Speaker 3: first big question mark of the draft.
[12:44] Speaker 1: Neither do I.
[12:45] Speaker 4: We're all gonna find out together, isn't this fun. Now
[12:48] Speaker 4: this is where it gets tricky. It's like, do I
[12:50] Speaker 4: try and play the board some more? Do I just
[12:52] Speaker 4: go with my heart? I think I'm just gonna go
[12:53] Speaker 4: through the draft with my heart, not gonna let any
[12:55] Speaker 4: outside noise, and we're gonna stick to the board. I'm
[12:58] Speaker 4: gonna take Danil Hunter next mine too. What's he really
[13:02] Speaker 4: I don't think you can adequately capture in any of
[13:05] Speaker 4: the stats or figures exactly what Daniel Hunter brings the
[13:09] Speaker 4: game down and down out the level of ingenuity, the
[13:12] Speaker 4: level of craft. He's the guy who will maybe have
[13:15] Speaker 4: four reps against a backup poor tackle, where it's like,
[13:18] Speaker 4: is Danil Hunter on the field, then you'll put him
[13:20] Speaker 4: up against Tristan Worth. She put him up against Trent Williams,
[13:23] Speaker 4: and he makes them look foolish. There's just a level
[13:25] Speaker 4: of ingenuity and creativity with how he goes about it
[13:27] Speaker 4: in a way no one I have scouted over fifteen
[13:30] Speaker 4: years now has ever played the position the way he does.
[13:32] Speaker 4: He just makes things up on the fly. He has
[13:35] Speaker 4: the most outrageous body control of anyone. He's got unreal power,
[13:39] Speaker 4: so he just can go against any elite tackle in
[13:41] Speaker 4: the league. I think and on any given rep just
[13:43] Speaker 4: make them look foolish.
[13:45] Speaker 1: He is so good. This is how good he is. Ali.
[13:49] Speaker 1: He's thirty one years old. This year he signed.
[13:53] Speaker 3: A one million or one year, forty million dollar extension
[13:59] Speaker 3: into twenty two, twenty seven. He's already thirty one. It's
[14:02] Speaker 3: a forty million dollar extension for one year. And everyone
[14:05] Speaker 3: is just like, oh, yeah, well that's fine. Of course,
[14:07] Speaker 3: of course you do that. It's to Neel Hunter. He
[14:09] Speaker 3: has not shown any sign of decline. If anything, you
[14:13] Speaker 3: could argue like he was as good last year as
[14:17] Speaker 3: he has ever been there. There is no one quite
[14:20] Speaker 3: like him that that counted a little extra for me too,
[14:23] Speaker 3: just like the the wow factor of all those million
[14:26] Speaker 3: different moves that you have in him, just being that
[14:28] Speaker 3: freak that I give him a little edge just for
[14:30] Speaker 3: the entertainment value.
[14:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, my hot souls.
[14:33] Speaker 4: Whenever I watch The deal hunt in a way with
[14:35] Speaker 4: Nick Benito, I go one outstanding player and I understand
[14:39] Speaker 4: why he's so great, but I just don't get the
[14:40] Speaker 4: tingly feeling of mine isle of bone, and I watched
[14:43] Speaker 4: The deal Hunters like that could just be what I
[14:45] Speaker 4: do every Sunday. It's like there's no games on it's
[14:47] Speaker 4: bluring COVID again. Just get me the deal Hunter the clips.
[14:50] Speaker 4: I'll have a fun time.
[14:51] Speaker 3: And I don't know if it's the way they run
[14:53] Speaker 3: the defense or anything, but it says something that he
[14:57] Speaker 3: actually is double team more, you know, according to Next
[14:59] Speaker 3: Gen than Will Anderson even so fifth and total pressures. Uh,
[15:04] Speaker 3: He's just the man I first. I always think of
[15:07] Speaker 3: him first as the guy that John Gruden said on
[15:09] Speaker 3: Monday Night Football before he really broke out as a player,
[15:13] Speaker 3: that John Gruden made everyone feel weird on Twitter for
[15:16] Speaker 3: a night because he said, if I could have one
[15:18] Speaker 3: body in the world, that body would be a Daniel Hunters. Like,
[15:24] Speaker 3: who can argue? I think it is a good take.
[15:26] Speaker 3: Good take is a totally good take. All right, this
[15:29] Speaker 3: one's tough. I'm gonna take Nick Bosa. He's coming off
[15:33] Speaker 3: of a torn acl The only thing that worries me
[15:36] Speaker 3: is for the few games that he was out there
[15:38] Speaker 3: last year, I didn't think he was quite as good
[15:40] Speaker 3: as he was before.
[15:41] Speaker 1: But what a player he is.
[15:43] Speaker 3: I hate that him and Joey Bosa kind of get
[15:47] Speaker 3: mixed together there, you know, there's like the Trump stuff.
[15:50] Speaker 3: Now Bosa's had two torn ACLS, which is a little concerning,
[15:53] Speaker 3: and so you think they've both been injured. He is
[15:55] Speaker 3: not Joey Bosa, who unfortunately I think, I think has
[15:59] Speaker 3: had kind of a dissip.
[16:00] Speaker 1: Pointing overall career ARC.
[16:02] Speaker 3: I mean, this is a guy that's defensive Vergier a
[16:04] Speaker 3: Defensive Player of the Year, and he's only turning twenty
[16:08] Speaker 3: nine this year, and I think of everyone left on
[16:11] Speaker 3: the board, he is actually the biggest problem that if
[16:15] Speaker 3: when other teams are going to have to game plan
[16:19] Speaker 3: for him.
[16:20] Speaker 1: If he's close to peak Bosa, then he is that
[16:23] Speaker 1: guy to me.
[16:24] Speaker 3: And he has come off a torn ACL before I
[16:26] Speaker 3: know it's you know, not easier the second time, but
[16:29] Speaker 3: what he came off it before, Ali, you would not
[16:31] Speaker 3: have known even in the slightest He came out actually
[16:34] Speaker 3: the first week off that ACL and had a monster game.
[16:37] Speaker 3: And so that's informing me taking Bosa next.
[16:40] Speaker 4: So you don't take Mike capas In's second overall because
[16:43] Speaker 4: of injury con sense, but you'll take bos Rough the
[16:45] Speaker 4: second ACL.
[16:46] Speaker 3: To well, he had it done earlier in the season. Parsons,
[16:51] Speaker 3: it was very specific of just like I thought, he's
[16:53] Speaker 3: I think he's gonna miss a chunk of this season,
[16:55] Speaker 3: and I don't think Bosa is, So it's a fair
[16:58] Speaker 3: criticism to make, though I.
[16:59] Speaker 4: Think it's really fair. I'm boast to say, off the
[17:01] Speaker 4: guy's left. If everyone's really rolling, who's the one you're
[17:04] Speaker 4: most concerned by? Would be Nick Bosa. My one concern
[17:07] Speaker 4: with the injury specifically. Yes, he's come back from it before.
[17:11] Speaker 4: I'm sure given his mindset, he's doing all you know,
[17:13] Speaker 4: wonderful stem cell stuff that's perfectly allowed, and we'll come
[17:16] Speaker 4: back and find shape. But as a kind of speed
[17:20] Speaker 4: bend Russia, which is what he primarily is, that gets
[17:23] Speaker 4: me a little bit concerned because those guys can really
[17:26] Speaker 4: start to tail off, and it may be tailing off
[17:27] Speaker 4: to a way like TJ. Watt has done. Right, It's
[17:30] Speaker 4: like the highest end reps are still the highest end reps.
[17:32] Speaker 4: They're really impactful, they get sex, they get fumbles, but
[17:35] Speaker 4: it's just like that consistent, dominant, down to down impact
[17:38] Speaker 4: the way he's been.
[17:39] Speaker 1: For the majority of his career. Okay, you have me,
[17:42] Speaker 1: You have me a little worried.
[17:43] Speaker 3: There were there were safer picks out there, for sure,
[17:46] Speaker 3: let's hear one of them.
[17:47] Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Nick Benito. Yeah, I'm not apologizing to anyone.
[17:52] Speaker 4: Nick doesn't have to tweet us this time. Is this
[17:54] Speaker 4: high enough to associate him. I'm not sure I took Nick.
[17:57] Speaker 3: Bosa over you, but it'll come after me, Harry.
[18:01] Speaker 4: He's not as well rounded as guys left on the
[18:04] Speaker 4: board and as anyone that's gone so far, but he
[18:07] Speaker 4: has the most lethal super skill available to any passers
[18:12] Speaker 4: from the league. And when we go through all these
[18:13] Speaker 4: draft assignments, and we go through hundreds of draft prospects
[18:15] Speaker 4: and we're looking for what is the one thing we
[18:17] Speaker 4: know kind of rises up to the next level of league,
[18:20] Speaker 4: It's just what is the get off? Like all the
[18:21] Speaker 4: great pastors in the league have great get offs. That's
[18:24] Speaker 4: how you can win. In the NFL. He has as
[18:26] Speaker 4: good to get off as anyone in pro football. It
[18:28] Speaker 4: was the second best league by ngs last season, but
[18:30] Speaker 4: the snap timing I think pushed it to a different level.
[18:33] Speaker 4: His just intuition of when the ball is coming out,
[18:36] Speaker 4: the two steps out quickness he's able to get paired
[18:38] Speaker 4: with those hops, I think is just outstanding.
[18:42] Speaker 1: And he's massively improved as a run defender.
[18:43] Speaker 4: He's still not as good as the best guys in
[18:46] Speaker 4: the league, but it's kind of irrelevant given the impact
[18:48] Speaker 4: he can actually make. And so you see someone like
[18:50] Speaker 4: David Bailey get drafted where he's drafted because a team
[18:53] Speaker 4: is chasing could we get Nick Benito? I think when
[18:56] Speaker 4: you see a play like that, go second of rolls
[18:58] Speaker 4: league kind of telling you if we can find a
[19:00] Speaker 4: player of that ill that tos is just a perennial
[19:02] Speaker 4: all pro type play.
[19:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, he was next on my board. It it probably
[19:06] Speaker 3: was unfair to let him go. The craziest thing about
[19:09] Speaker 3: last season for him, you know, he led the NFL
[19:12] Speaker 3: in quick pressure percentage. He had multiple pressures in every game.
[19:16] Speaker 3: Like the stats in terms of the getoff you said
[19:18] Speaker 3: it like I love it when the numbers from next
[19:20] Speaker 3: Gen just back up your eye test, Like he really
[19:22] Speaker 3: does have the best get off in the league. But
[19:25] Speaker 3: he did this by only being on the field for
[19:28] Speaker 3: fifty six percent of.
[19:30] Speaker 1: Dropbacks for the Broncos.
[19:31] Speaker 3: Doesn't that not even counting the rundowns when he that's
[19:34] Speaker 3: the reason he's off the field is he's not always
[19:36] Speaker 3: there on what our quote unquote traditional rundowns. So for
[19:40] Speaker 3: him to have that level of impact when he is
[19:43] Speaker 3: rotating a little more.
[19:45] Speaker 1: That was why I knocked him down a bit.
[19:46] Speaker 3: But I like to hear what you said there about
[19:49] Speaker 3: the run defense because I know that's really important to you.
[19:52] Speaker 3: In terms of the run defense, I do think he's
[19:54] Speaker 3: going to be the type of player that makes NFL
[19:57] Speaker 3: teams chase outliers find our Nick Benito when there's there's
[20:02] Speaker 3: it's gonna be very tough to find your Nick Benito.
[20:04] Speaker 4: Hey, if I was James gladsnow one of the young
[20:07] Speaker 4: guys who has the hoodie with the suit, I would
[20:08] Speaker 4: bound in olver Pulets like never mentioned Nick Benito. That's
[20:11] Speaker 4: that's not acceptable to us, because those hundreds of Slipperson
[20:14] Speaker 4: in the league who want as good as Nick Benito,
[20:16] Speaker 4: and those guys going the third round, fourth round, we
[20:18] Speaker 4: can trade them the deadline. We don't go Chason Nick
[20:20] Speaker 4: Benito in the top ten.
[20:22] Speaker 1: One of one.
[20:24] Speaker 3: Okay, you mentioned there might be guys that are more complete,
[20:27] Speaker 3: and I think I want to pain you here by
[20:29] Speaker 3: taking josh heinz Allen off the board here, just just
[20:32] Speaker 3: to do it all guy that's got to do it
[20:34] Speaker 3: at the top level. You know, if I'm gonna take
[20:37] Speaker 3: a risk with Bosa. I'm not building a team here,
[20:39] Speaker 3: then I want that sort of the opposite of Bosa.
[20:41] Speaker 3: I know exactly what I'm getting out of Josh heinz Allen.
[20:44] Speaker 3: He's a top ten guy every year. He was one
[20:46] Speaker 3: hundred pressure guy last year, a couple of seasons in
[20:50] Speaker 3: his career where he's also doing the top end stuff
[20:53] Speaker 3: where you know, if you're just talking about production doing
[20:56] Speaker 3: it quarterback hits plus plus sacks over thirty. But he's
[20:59] Speaker 3: a volume shooter, like he's out there every stap. He's
[21:03] Speaker 3: he's in next gen going to be over you know,
[21:05] Speaker 3: in the top five or six in terms of pressures.
[21:06] Speaker 3: And there was no one else on the Jaguars last
[21:08] Speaker 3: year doing anything. Trayvon Walker was hurt, didn't have his
[21:12] Speaker 3: best year, and for a second it looked like heines
[21:15] Speaker 3: Allen maybe wasn't at his normal level, and then he
[21:19] Speaker 3: finished the season really hot and it ended up kind
[21:23] Speaker 3: of making up for everything. And there's all these different
[21:26] Speaker 3: stats of how you're going to measure it, but when
[21:28] Speaker 3: you when you check out pass rush win rate Form ESPN,
[21:30] Speaker 3: one of the things I like are the guys who
[21:32] Speaker 3: are consistent and they've been doing it for like five
[21:34] Speaker 3: years and Josh Allen's and Josh Heines Allen's in the
[21:37] Speaker 3: same spot every year. He's somewhere between about twelve and
[21:40] Speaker 3: sixteen in pass rush win rate, which kind of matches
[21:43] Speaker 3: my eye test. But you combine that with the smarts
[21:45] Speaker 3: and a really good run defender, just everything that you
[21:48] Speaker 3: could want, and you kind of you know exactly who
[21:50] Speaker 3: Josh Heines Allen is every season.
[21:52] Speaker 4: Yeah, and off that top group, and I would put
[21:55] Speaker 4: him in that top group. He's the best, like pure
[21:58] Speaker 4: Masha of all of those guys where it's not like
[22:01] Speaker 4: Jared Verse where it's just kind of throwing guys out
[22:04] Speaker 4: the club down after down. But in terms of the
[22:06] Speaker 4: stunt game, the loop game, which of these guys is
[22:09] Speaker 4: willing to kind of throw their face into the fire
[22:11] Speaker 4: to go pick someone else to their teammate if you
[22:13] Speaker 4: go through, even like some Miles Garrett, that is not
[22:15] Speaker 4: Miles Garrett's highest strength. He's kind of waiting for his
[22:18] Speaker 4: turn on that stuff. Or he'll kind of slip around
[22:20] Speaker 4: as the looping guy, as the second man through, as
[22:23] Speaker 4: the first guy into the fire, go throw yourself into
[22:25] Speaker 4: two bodies, just creak havoc, get guys on different levels.
[22:28] Speaker 4: Let your teammate comes sweet behind you. No one throws
[22:30] Speaker 4: themselves into the fire like Josh heinz Allen, and so
[22:33] Speaker 4: to be in that kind of blue chip or right
[22:35] Speaker 4: near the blue chip tier and to be willing to
[22:37] Speaker 4: kind of subsue yourself to the scheme in that way,
[22:39] Speaker 4: it's not normal.
[22:40] Speaker 1: The guys do that.
[22:41] Speaker 4: Mike is probably the one who's the most willing to
[22:43] Speaker 4: go and.
[22:44] Speaker 1: Do that stuff.
[22:45] Speaker 4: But the rest of the list is guys who they
[22:46] Speaker 4: win one on one against the great players.
[22:48] Speaker 1: That's why they're great.
[22:49] Speaker 4: I think Josh heines Allen is a little bit more
[22:51] Speaker 4: on the team concept side, but he's willing to kind
[22:54] Speaker 4: of turn himself over to the team in a way
[22:57] Speaker 4: that a lot of the guys with his talent probably
[22:58] Speaker 4: wouldn't do.
[23:00] Speaker 3: You know, there's flash year players out there. I suspect
[23:02] Speaker 3: you're gonna take one of them right now. But Jack's
[23:05] Speaker 3: fans and Josh Einzellen, I think they're always looking for
[23:07] Speaker 3: the respect. I'm giving it to him with him going eighth,
[23:10] Speaker 3: what's number nine?
[23:11] Speaker 1: Who's number nine?
[23:12] Speaker 4: I'm gonna go this slightly off my board because you've
[23:15] Speaker 4: made me nervous with how You've built your board out,
[23:18] Speaker 4: and I'm going to take a bit of a maybe
[23:19] Speaker 4: not a swing, but I'm gonna hope this doesn't make
[23:22] Speaker 4: me look like a dummy.
[23:23] Speaker 1: In twelve months, I'm gonna tak Abdul Carter. Wow. Wow,
[23:28] Speaker 1: you made me.
[23:29] Speaker 3: I made you nervous with how I'm doing my bird well,
[23:31] Speaker 3: just taking guys, I like I thought I had Carter
[23:34] Speaker 3: exceptionally high, but I had him about four or four
[23:37] Speaker 3: or five more picks here the way.
[23:39] Speaker 1: So I got to reach great. That's good to know.
[23:43] Speaker 4: This is betting on the potential of the player, and
[23:47] Speaker 4: what we saw at the closing end of last season,
[23:50] Speaker 4: he has one of the best we'll ever see in
[23:54] Speaker 4: terms of time to pressure of any rookie, any player
[23:57] Speaker 4: in the league. And that's coming with a volume of
[24:00] Speaker 4: a ton of pressures too. So the innate skill is there.
[24:03] Speaker 4: He looks exactly the player I thought he would do
[24:05] Speaker 4: coming out of college. He still is not in any
[24:08] Speaker 4: way to me piecing it together. I still think it's
[24:10] Speaker 4: pure instinct and it's pure athleticism, and there's such a
[24:13] Speaker 4: lack of refinement at times it's almost nauseating because he's
[24:16] Speaker 4: so gifted When you're watching against Larry Tunsell, he'll hit
[24:20] Speaker 4: Larry tuns with two things you've never seen before. It
[24:22] Speaker 4: remind you a little bit of the Nil Hunter, where
[24:23] Speaker 4: it's like, I don't think he quite knew what he
[24:25] Speaker 4: was doing there. It's kind of a heavy than a chop,
[24:27] Speaker 4: then a spin move. Somehow he's cleared the distance. Tunsl's
[24:29] Speaker 4: got no idea what's happening. Then it's just nothing, nothing
[24:33] Speaker 4: rep after rep. But if you look at kind of
[24:35] Speaker 4: the volume production with what the high end reps are,
[24:39] Speaker 4: if any kind of switch goes on or there's even
[24:41] Speaker 4: any kind of improvement he's producing at the level he
[24:43] Speaker 4: is now such a raw player, which is a little
[24:45] Speaker 4: like when Hunter came into the league. It's only going
[24:48] Speaker 4: to take a tiny little switch to kind of get
[24:52] Speaker 4: into the next tier. I think of being a truly
[24:55] Speaker 4: dominant one on one. We have no idea what we're
[24:58] Speaker 4: dealing with here. As an offense, it it's.
[25:00] Speaker 3: Really not even as bold as I made it out
[25:03] Speaker 3: to be. I keep mentioning quick pressures. So quick pressures
[25:06] Speaker 3: according to next ten stats, defined by two point five
[25:09] Speaker 3: seconds or less. Abdull Carter as a rookie, you mentioned
[25:13] Speaker 3: you know the most, you know, for rookie, he had
[25:15] Speaker 3: the most in the NFL, like he had he.
[25:17] Speaker 1: Had more than Micah, He had more than literally everyone.
[25:20] Speaker 3: There was only three games by any players all season
[25:25] Speaker 3: where someone had seven quick pressures in a game, which
[25:27] Speaker 3: is basically like I have totally taken over this game.
[25:30] Speaker 1: Two of those three games were by Carter.
[25:33] Speaker 3: The other one was by Micah not not surprisingly he
[25:36] Speaker 3: was that good and he needs to be able to finish.
[25:39] Speaker 3: But you kind of talked about guys who get you.
[25:41] Speaker 1: A little tingly. I got him.
[25:44] Speaker 3: I mean, Carter is that guy who you just watch
[25:47] Speaker 3: him on tams just like people don't move like that.
[25:50] Speaker 1: That is just rare.
[25:51] Speaker 4: Yeah, he moves differently that the finishing is the main thing,
[25:54] Speaker 4: and the finishing was the thing coming out of college
[25:56] Speaker 4: that his contact balance is pretty poll. I don't think
[25:58] Speaker 4: he's that flexible in the ankles. When anythone touches him,
[26:01] Speaker 4: he goes down. And it often happens when as he's
[26:03] Speaker 4: kind of clearing the tackle, if he gets like a
[26:06] Speaker 4: little nudge on the way through, he does sits the floor.
[26:08] Speaker 4: So I don't know how a team's gonna work around that.
[26:10] Speaker 4: Is that flexibility is at lower body strength. There are
[26:12] Speaker 4: two should be monster sex on Jalen Hurts when they
[26:16] Speaker 4: played against Philadelphia, where he gets the lightest touch and
[26:19] Speaker 4: force the floor after putting together something you've never seen
[26:21] Speaker 4: someone do before. Able to get away around one is
[26:24] Speaker 4: against guard. One's against the tackle. So the kind of
[26:27] Speaker 4: like infase stuff and the early porsch that reps up
[26:30] Speaker 4: is absolutely mind blowing. The talent is so off the charts,
[26:33] Speaker 4: but he does have to finish, and I think part
[26:35] Speaker 4: of it is that the contact balance I mentioned, and
[26:37] Speaker 4: he also does say I think needs to add some
[26:39] Speaker 4: more weight and have a little bit more of a
[26:41] Speaker 4: speed power threat. All the great guys that aren't Benito
[26:44] Speaker 4: that we've talked about so far have some kind of
[26:46] Speaker 4: speed power threat, and Carter wants to play that the
[26:49] Speaker 4: crafty heavy movement game because he just moves differently to
[26:52] Speaker 4: everyone else. But even danil Hunter, who is built in
[26:55] Speaker 4: that mold of I can outthink you. You'll never be
[26:57] Speaker 4: able to guess what I'm doing, can just sit on
[27:00] Speaker 4: how off the three drives if he wants to and
[27:02] Speaker 4: drive you back to the Quotebuck.
[27:03] Speaker 3: Yeah, he also led the entire NFL and in time
[27:06] Speaker 3: to pressure, so it felt like partially a coaching or
[27:10] Speaker 3: not connecting with his coaching staff thing last year. Definitely
[27:13] Speaker 3: some maturity issues based on the reporting. I mean that's something.
[27:18] Speaker 3: It happens at this position, happens at every position, but
[27:20] Speaker 3: this position seems to over index a little bit, where
[27:23] Speaker 3: like that rookie year. Okay, like we've seen it in
[27:25] Speaker 3: New York before. It wouldn't shock me at all for
[27:27] Speaker 3: him to totally lock in. I like that pick. I
[27:30] Speaker 3: also like that you left me Max Crosby. See I'm
[27:32] Speaker 3: getting unpredictable here because I was concerned about the injuries
[27:36] Speaker 3: at the top.
[27:37] Speaker 1: The surgery is a concern, and some of the.
[27:42] Speaker 3: Overall numbers are a little concerning when it comes to
[27:45] Speaker 3: Max Crosby.
[27:46] Speaker 1: Not in the top forty.
[27:50] Speaker 3: I think it was in total pressures, which is crazy
[27:52] Speaker 3: last year like sub fifty five pressures on PFF, which
[27:56] Speaker 3: is more generous.
[27:57] Speaker 1: And look, he is getting chipped all the time.
[28:00] Speaker 3: He is right there with the top players in the
[28:02] Speaker 3: league in terms of how much he's getting chipped. And
[28:04] Speaker 3: it was partly because there was less opportunities. Not only
[28:07] Speaker 3: were the Raiders never ahead, but he didn't play the
[28:10] Speaker 3: last few games. There was possibly a little less juice
[28:14] Speaker 3: at times. I think that is fair, like the time
[28:17] Speaker 3: to pressure. I'm giving some of the negatives, but still
[28:21] Speaker 3: a total beast in terms of the running game, still
[28:25] Speaker 3: a maniac. I still think gets all the respect as
[28:28] Speaker 3: he should from the players that he goes against. And
[28:32] Speaker 3: I take that into account. And so I am willing
[28:35] Speaker 3: to look at last year a little bit of him
[28:37] Speaker 3: playing through that injury and hoping him coming off the
[28:41] Speaker 3: injury that it can be improved. And it's Max freaking Crosby.
[28:46] Speaker 3: I just didn't want him to fall out of the
[28:47] Speaker 3: top ten.
[28:48] Speaker 4: No, I agree that that was the guy who was
[28:50] Speaker 4: going to take He was much higher in the bullet
[28:51] Speaker 4: than I had collective, but I didn't want to miss
[28:53] Speaker 4: out on him. If this was a three year project,
[28:55] Speaker 4: I would be a little bit concerned about. Okay, maybe
[28:58] Speaker 4: we've seen the pee can run the kind of the
[29:00] Speaker 4: steady part of the decline here, but even the high
[29:02] Speaker 4: end ed rushes are able to sustain some part of
[29:04] Speaker 4: the decline if they're not just pure speed off the
[29:07] Speaker 4: ball type players, which he's not. And I certainly don't
[29:10] Speaker 4: want to go up against a pissed off Max Crosby.
[29:11] Speaker 4: So I'm gonna guess that he's going to come back
[29:14] Speaker 4: all kinds of fury, all kinds of blurriiness. If he's
[29:17] Speaker 4: still on the Raiders, which I'm guessing he's gonna be
[29:19] Speaker 4: at this point, they've so much improved the group around him,
[29:21] Speaker 4: I think the numbers will skyrocket compared to what they
[29:24] Speaker 4: were last year, even if he's just the same player,
[29:26] Speaker 4: even does take some kind of step back. It's been
[29:28] Speaker 4: so barren for so long, and was so barren last season.
[29:31] Speaker 4: He's carrying as such a heavy burden that it's only
[29:35] Speaker 4: naturally at some point we're going to see some kind
[29:37] Speaker 4: of slip in the figures. And I on think he
[29:38] Speaker 4: looks like quite the same burst athlete off the ball
[29:42] Speaker 4: as two seasons ago. But maybe if he can have
[29:45] Speaker 4: an offseason getting some degree of nine healthiness, we could
[29:51] Speaker 4: maybe see that that player, he makes it feel something.
[29:53] Speaker 1: Though.
[29:53] Speaker 3: Right in the in the Football Loins, there's a great article,
[29:58] Speaker 3: as we had to break, might be outside the realm
[30:01] Speaker 3: of most of the people listening here, but it's by
[30:04] Speaker 3: Alina Fiddelina about her husband, Gael Monfisz, who's about to
[30:07] Speaker 3: retire as a tennis player, and the article. It's one
[30:09] Speaker 3: of the best pieces of sports writing. I saw a
[30:11] Speaker 3: year is essentially about, like you know, champions come and go.
[30:15] Speaker 3: There's only so many different athletes that make you feel something.
[30:18] Speaker 3: And it's very germane to what we were talking about.
[30:21] Speaker 3: And she was saying that about her husband. I think
[30:25] Speaker 3: Raiders fans could say that about Max Crosby. Certainly maybe
[30:28] Speaker 3: everyone else watching over the last few years. Let's take
[30:31] Speaker 3: a break. We got our top ten done and we'll
[30:33] Speaker 3: be back with the rest of the Edge Rusher list
[30:46] Speaker 3: back on NFL Daily. Ally Connelly is up next with
[30:48] Speaker 3: the number eleven overall pick. When they do the war
[30:52] Speaker 3: Room like documentary about your process, Berties are telling me,
[30:58] Speaker 3: I mean you were considering Abdul Carter is the number four?
[31:00] Speaker 1: That would have been wild I was my inside.
[31:03] Speaker 4: The war room would look like one of the Ryan
[31:04] Speaker 4: Pauls videos where he thinks he snagged a great thing
[31:07] Speaker 4: and he's high fiving the team and all the other
[31:09] Speaker 4: GM's just giggling about him on the phone to one another.
[31:11] Speaker 3: It's like it's like the Rams when the Patriots took
[31:15] Speaker 3: Cold Strange.
[31:16] Speaker 1: That fat view. Let's go number eleven.
[31:19] Speaker 3: No, I think I think you put Carter out a
[31:20] Speaker 3: good spot and never be hesitant to make a bold
[31:22] Speaker 3: pick because it's only gonna be good for the NFL
[31:24] Speaker 3: Daily thirty two brand.
[31:26] Speaker 4: Okay, I'm in a tough spot here because I think
[31:28] Speaker 4: there's about eight names in consideration. I'm just gonna take TJ.
[31:32] Speaker 4: Watt the Steelers. I don't feel great about it. I
[31:37] Speaker 4: think the decline is really real. I think when you
[31:40] Speaker 4: get a you know, he's such a high profile player
[31:44] Speaker 4: and the big plays are so impactful, but he has
[31:46] Speaker 4: just become such a boom or buss player, reliant on
[31:49] Speaker 4: one thing from one alignment, and he still creates havoc
[31:52] Speaker 4: and he can still create chaos. But when you start
[31:54] Speaker 4: see a player like that decline, I do get worried
[31:57] Speaker 4: that the impact just gets deadened and deadened. And there's
[31:59] Speaker 4: an argument of the three guys on his team that
[32:03] Speaker 4: play his role, you maybe get more versatility from the
[32:06] Speaker 4: other two guys, and one is certainly more ascendant than
[32:08] Speaker 4: I think where TJ. Watt is going, but it is
[32:11] Speaker 4: very best. I think he sells game takeover potential, and
[32:15] Speaker 4: I'm just thinking if you had a slay of Penny Soul,
[32:18] Speaker 4: Tristan Wurfs, Trent Williams, and you're going through the names,
[32:22] Speaker 4: who do you think could give those guys a tough time?
[32:24] Speaker 4: I would still even though it's one move and everyone
[32:26] Speaker 4: knows it's coming and it's just an outside dip under
[32:29] Speaker 4: the shoulder, burst the backfield as quickly as possible, that
[32:32] Speaker 4: he is probably the guy who could get you. That
[32:34] Speaker 4: must have it the downsack ahead of some of the
[32:37] Speaker 4: other guys that had in consideration.
[32:38] Speaker 3: Yeah, I only had We've stuck to my board pretty closely.
[32:42] Speaker 3: He was going to be only one other player was
[32:45] Speaker 3: ahead of him that hasn't been taken. But if you
[32:47] Speaker 3: want the profile, I misspoke when I said Max Crosby
[32:50] Speaker 3: was not in the top forty pressures. Don't be mad
[32:53] Speaker 3: at me, Max, I'm not like a sent from Eric
[32:56] Speaker 3: to Costa to drive your value down or anything. He
[32:58] Speaker 3: was not in the top twenty in pressures I was
[33:00] Speaker 3: thinking of that was not in the top forty in
[33:02] Speaker 3: total pressures, and so yeah, the question is kind of
[33:05] Speaker 3: how steep the drop off was. Now he is getting
[33:08] Speaker 3: doubled and chipped more. I mentioned how it was Micah
[33:11] Speaker 3: and Garrett at the top two in the league. What
[33:14] Speaker 3: was still third so he is getting chipped all the time,
[33:18] Speaker 3: as much as anyone actually since twenty eighteen, which is
[33:21] Speaker 3: a crazy stat it is of pure chips.
[33:23] Speaker 4: It's partly because of what his style is, which is
[33:26] Speaker 4: a line as wide as possible and you just dip
[33:29] Speaker 4: under the outside so that the chip becomes more effective
[33:32] Speaker 4: against that kind of player. Whereas if Micah Pastons you've
[33:34] Speaker 4: got the stab for outside, you could slash back inside,
[33:37] Speaker 4: it's not quite as effective as you just know the
[33:40] Speaker 4: angle of attack on every single rep and it just
[33:42] Speaker 4: will he beat me off the ball or not?
[33:43] Speaker 1: Does he time the snap well in a fall?
[33:45] Speaker 4: Not?
[33:45] Speaker 1: And so for a guy like TJ.
[33:47] Speaker 4: Watts, similar to Nick Benito, you really have to crush
[33:50] Speaker 4: people in the quick pressure world and the high quality
[33:53] Speaker 4: sack and high quality pressure world, there's not going to
[33:56] Speaker 4: be a huge volume of total pressure. I think is
[33:58] Speaker 4: his career kind of unless he wants to kind of
[34:01] Speaker 4: transform and redefine his game. I have a hard time
[34:04] Speaker 4: seeing it, frankly, this stage of his career. He's played
[34:06] Speaker 4: this way now for so long, it's been so effective,
[34:09] Speaker 4: but when the quick pressure is full below him being
[34:11] Speaker 4: one of the top three guys, top four guys, in
[34:13] Speaker 4: the league, which is where he just lives that as
[34:16] Speaker 4: a massive compromising effect. I think on the rest of
[34:18] Speaker 4: the defense is not good enough him to have these
[34:20] Speaker 4: kind of second surge pressures that are kind of extended
[34:25] Speaker 4: because his impact comes immediately off the snap or it's
[34:27] Speaker 4: not really fell all that much.
[34:29] Speaker 3: I think the coaching change will help him, just because
[34:31] Speaker 3: I don't think it could be worse than it was
[34:33] Speaker 3: last year where he's just so static, and I think
[34:37] Speaker 3: they could help him out and help the other two
[34:39] Speaker 3: guys who are going to be taken in this draft,
[34:40] Speaker 3: Herbig and high Smith out by you know, moving, rotating more.
[34:45] Speaker 3: But the PFF grades, which are certainly not perfect, I
[34:49] Speaker 3: think they're better at different positions than others.
[34:51] Speaker 1: But if you're a TJ. Watt fan, you've.
[34:53] Speaker 3: Always seen these as his were, you know, outstanding off
[34:57] Speaker 3: the charts. You know, ninety pass rush, ninety, you know
[35:00] Speaker 3: run grade every year as recently as twenty twenty four,
[35:04] Speaker 3: and last year he was at seventy five and seventy
[35:07] Speaker 3: four for PFF and it was completely different than they're
[35:09] Speaker 3: grading really for the rest of the time TJ. Watt
[35:11] Speaker 3: was in the league. So he's opening up stuff for
[35:13] Speaker 3: other guys. I don't think that's fair in terms of
[35:15] Speaker 3: the run defense, even if you just look at the
[35:17] Speaker 3: numbers of like when you ran to TJ. Wattside and
[35:19] Speaker 3: you ran to the other side, it was much worse
[35:21] Speaker 3: on TJ.
[35:21] Speaker 1: Watside. I think he's still great there.
[35:24] Speaker 3: And I just wonder about that that contract thirty two
[35:27] Speaker 3: million dollars fully guaranteed next year.
[35:30] Speaker 1: You don't see.
[35:30] Speaker 3: Contracts like that too often. It's very NBA contract like
[35:34] Speaker 3: where you could see him getting traded after this.
[35:36] Speaker 4: Well, you also don't see a team hiring a guy
[35:38] Speaker 4: because he like likes local area even though he's been
[35:41] Speaker 4: out the league. Like, no one runs a team the way.
[35:44] Speaker 4: You don't see people every day. You gotta draft some
[35:46] Speaker 4: one because they played the local arial that help knows
[35:49] Speaker 4: the coach like that.
[35:49] Speaker 1: That's just they run differently to everyone else.
[35:52] Speaker 3: On one hand, I'm critical because I don't think it's
[35:54] Speaker 3: a smart way to run your team. On the other hand,
[35:57] Speaker 3: it is the type of contract that like you get
[35:59] Speaker 3: in the NBA because you kind of get in the
[36:01] Speaker 3: NBA for what you've done in the past, like you
[36:03] Speaker 3: get rewarded, and TJ. Wat has done all that for
[36:06] Speaker 3: the Steelers, So I actually do get it. He's rewarded
[36:10] Speaker 3: with a gold jacket like the contract.
[36:13] Speaker 1: I get it.
[36:15] Speaker 3: Jared Versus is going to get a monster contract pretty soon.
[36:17] Speaker 3: He's my pick. He is a very particular brand. We
[36:21] Speaker 3: kind of mentioned people are looking for their Benitos. I
[36:23] Speaker 3: think people are looking for their Jared Versus because you
[36:26] Speaker 3: can find players like that. Ish just absolutely rugged, blowing
[36:35] Speaker 3: up the play. If if you want to chart miss tackles,
[36:39] Speaker 3: he is going to be up there. But part of
[36:42] Speaker 3: the reason he misses so many tackles is he's just
[36:45] Speaker 3: back there and yeah, if he could finish the place,
[36:47] Speaker 3: he would be one of the first four guys taken.
[36:50] Speaker 1: And that's why he's not.
[36:52] Speaker 3: His total pressures according to PFF, is at one nine
[36:56] Speaker 3: for two years. I mean it's just for Paster. They
[37:00] Speaker 3: count the playoff games too, so he's getting a bonus.
[37:02] Speaker 3: But you talked about playing well when it matters. He
[37:06] Speaker 3: killed Seattle last year. He was great in those games
[37:08] Speaker 3: when Byron Young kind of disappeared. He had seven quarterback
[37:12] Speaker 3: hits in the playoffs total. He helped close out that
[37:15] Speaker 3: Bears game. If you remember well, he showed up in
[37:17] Speaker 3: both pressure plays. I don't know if he improved in
[37:21] Speaker 3: his second season, but he didn't really step back. I'm
[37:25] Speaker 3: curious what you think. Did you notice the difference between
[37:27] Speaker 3: him year one year two was just more of the same.
[37:30] Speaker 1: No, I think he is who he is.
[37:32] Speaker 4: It's really really really rare for speed to power Russia,
[37:36] Speaker 4: which is what he is. It's all just sit on
[37:38] Speaker 4: the bull rush. I can kind of big boy everyone.
[37:40] Speaker 4: It's really rare for those guys to go from college
[37:42] Speaker 4: and not actually carry over to the league. But you
[37:44] Speaker 4: all just biggest, stronger than everyone else, and even the
[37:46] Speaker 4: great ones you mentioned the Seattle game, if you go
[37:48] Speaker 4: up against a Blukestall Chil's cross, both those guys struggled
[37:51] Speaker 4: with a straight power through that chest. He's the best
[37:53] Speaker 4: pure power pass Russia in the league. And the thing
[37:57] Speaker 4: I think with him is I'm kind of interested you
[37:59] Speaker 4: had him in this Stay in Vain because I think
[38:00] Speaker 4: some people would maybe have him higher because the statsu
[38:03] Speaker 4: are off the charts and the best plays are just
[38:05] Speaker 4: throwing Tristan Worth's to the floor, which you just never
[38:08] Speaker 4: see against anyone else that Tristan Worth's plays against Jordan
[38:11] Speaker 4: Mylot has hit the deck against this guy. He's six'
[38:13] Speaker 4: nine and you, know almost four hundred. Pounds that doesn't
[38:16] Speaker 4: happen with anyone else. Where he can just get under
[38:18] Speaker 4: your pad level and throw you. Around SO i do
[38:21] Speaker 4: think people see that those flash plays and maybe push
[38:24] Speaker 4: him close towards the top, eight maybe even the top.
[38:27] Speaker 4: SIX i think that that's that the total pressure. Numbers
[38:31] Speaker 4: the way those are, charted the power rushes end up
[38:34] Speaker 4: encroaching in the space the quarterback gets. Charts as a,
[38:36] Speaker 4: pressure it's not always that disruptive to the. Quarterback they
[38:40] Speaker 4: can slip and navigate around. It as oppos a guy
[38:42] Speaker 4: who can win inside, outside it's a flash of color,
[38:45] Speaker 4: inside you've got to bail out the. Pocket SO i
[38:47] Speaker 4: don't think his pressures are quite as impactful as everyone
[38:50] Speaker 4: else's pressures all the. Time but he has more knockout
[38:53] Speaker 4: shots than anyone else in the. League And i'm telling,
[38:54] Speaker 4: you The colts never ever want to see his face.
[38:57] Speaker 4: Again Tanner bortalini never wants to see this guy in his.
[39:00] Speaker 1: Life he.
[39:00] Speaker 4: HAS i thole the three most holy pass rushes of last,
[39:04] Speaker 4: season and they all came in The colts, game and
[39:07] Speaker 4: two of them were against ten Of boltelini uh that's.
[39:10] Speaker 3: Incredible it's the second time this week That Tanner berdolini
[39:13] Speaker 3: has come up for being on the wrong side of
[39:15] Speaker 3: a pass.
[39:16] Speaker 1: RUSH i brought him up Against Jordan phillips of The.
[39:19] Speaker 3: Dolphins Jared verus might be the guy where the number
[39:22] Speaker 3: of pressures BETWEEN pff and Next gen stats is the
[39:25] Speaker 3: biggest because OF i think it's what you're, Saying and,
[39:28] Speaker 3: yeah that's not why he's. Higher but, again if it's my,
[39:31] Speaker 3: TEAM i love pure power. Rushers i've always Loved, Jadavian,
[39:36] Speaker 3: LIKE i love that. Style it's fun to watch, personally and,
[39:40] Speaker 3: yeah and it works in. Tandem but, yeah and there
[39:43] Speaker 3: can only be a couple Of parsons and he fits everywhere.
[39:46] Speaker 4: Else, yeah you really can't win a championship without one of. Them,
[39:49] Speaker 4: like it's great to have the slinky guys who can
[39:51] Speaker 4: do the bouncy still fall bend around the. Edge you
[39:53] Speaker 4: go through all the championship, teams they all have at
[39:54] Speaker 4: least one of these. Guys, well they make up for
[39:56] Speaker 4: it with two great ones on the. Inside every team
[39:58] Speaker 4: needs an outc To, russia you can just kind of
[40:01] Speaker 4: demolish the pocket in one clean. Blow AND i Think
[40:05] Speaker 4: verse right now is kind of The apex predator of
[40:07] Speaker 4: the Power. Rushes here's another guy where if you go chasing,
[40:10] Speaker 4: that if you go back to His Florida state film
[40:13] Speaker 4: and you see anything similar and you.
[40:14] Speaker 1: Say, okay we want to get one of those.
[40:15] Speaker 4: Guys it's just really tough to come up to the
[40:18] Speaker 4: league and be as strong and impactful As jared versus
[40:21] Speaker 4: just a couple of years into his.
[40:22] Speaker 3: Career maybe not not as. Versatile but is there a
[40:26] Speaker 3: little bit Of James harrison to?
[40:28] Speaker 1: Him one of my all time favorite.
[40:30] Speaker 4: Players verse might have a deeper bag honestly Than James.
[40:34] Speaker 4: Harrison but, yeah in terms of you go up against
[40:37] Speaker 4: A hall Of fame left tackle and you just kind
[40:38] Speaker 4: of dump truck, him it's almost impossible to.
[40:40] Speaker 1: Do harrison could do, that And verse can do.
[40:42] Speaker 3: That that's what the normy, is like, me like just
[40:44] Speaker 3: just some guy who's going to create a car.
[40:46] Speaker 1: Crash all, right you're. UP i will Take Trey.
[40:51] Speaker 4: Hendrickson, Okay i'm betting on the bounce back and betting
[40:55] Speaker 4: in that defensive environment it will kind of help the
[40:58] Speaker 4: elements of his game that he has. SHINE i do
[41:00] Speaker 4: think he's a little bit craftier then he's often given
[41:03] Speaker 4: credit for us more of the swooping type. Passerstraight do
[41:05] Speaker 4: you think he's got more inside out. VERSATILITY i think
[41:08] Speaker 4: they're gonna move him around more than he did At,
[41:10] Speaker 4: cincinnati put him over some, guards let him beat up
[41:13] Speaker 4: on people. Inside So i'm gonna bet With Jesse minta
[41:16] Speaker 4: with a different defensive environment getting him into these two
[41:19] Speaker 4: on one conflicts where guys on show they're supposed to
[41:21] Speaker 4: be blocking and giving him more of a free get
[41:23] Speaker 4: off The we'll, see at least numbers, wise a return
[41:26] Speaker 4: to a couple of years.
[41:27] Speaker 1: Ago he's fully.
[41:28] Speaker 3: Healthy, yeah he's getting up there in, years BUT i
[41:31] Speaker 3: think it's a great. Fit what do you think about
[41:34] Speaker 3: the run defense? Accusations you, KNOW.
[41:38] Speaker 1: I think that.
[41:38] Speaker 4: ACCURATE i think he's not, impactful AND i think he
[41:42] Speaker 4: asks out far too much from my lik.
[41:43] Speaker 3: Hmm, okay all, Right Trey hendrickson, there and he deserved
[41:48] Speaker 3: to go a little bit out of, sight out of. Mind, whereas,
[41:51] Speaker 3: yeah if if he had played even at the end
[41:54] Speaker 3: of last season for six or seven, GAMES i probably
[41:56] Speaker 3: would have probably would have already taken, Him but that didn't.
[41:59] Speaker 3: HAPPEN a, Right let's start taking guys JUST i don't
[42:02] Speaker 3: want you to have nice.
[42:03] Speaker 1: THINGS i am gonna Take Nick krvic, now let's go for.
[42:05] Speaker 3: IT i already spent the whole segment on him earlier this,
[42:08] Speaker 3: week So i'm not gonna repeat. Myself but you lead pass,
[42:13] Speaker 3: rush Win ray and back to back. SEASONS i think
[42:17] Speaker 3: he is a pretty complete, player AND.
[42:19] Speaker 1: I AM i. CRAZY i think he can handle.
[42:22] Speaker 3: More and you know they've they were only using him
[42:23] Speaker 3: for about twenty five thirty snaps a game towards the
[42:26] Speaker 3: end of last. Year BUT i see no reason why
[42:29] Speaker 3: he can't play more than.
[42:30] Speaker 1: That what do you think?
[42:31] Speaker 4: Now the only consume will be some of the run defense,
[42:34] Speaker 4: stuff and IT'S i don't think it's his. Fault why
[42:37] Speaker 4: that's the. Case it's usually if High smith isn't in the.
[42:40] Speaker 4: Game Hei smith off sets a lot of that concerns
[42:43] Speaker 4: just structly in how they kind of set up to
[42:44] Speaker 4: fit against the. RUN i think it's really hard to
[42:47] Speaker 4: get away With herbie gona walk together on the field
[42:49] Speaker 4: on rundowns because they both do the same, stuff which is.
[42:52] Speaker 4: Gamble we're gonna back door, Everything we're gonna try and
[42:54] Speaker 4: shoot everything off the. Snap we hate to try and false.
[42:56] Speaker 4: Fullmals we hate to create. Chaos it's just impossible to
[42:59] Speaker 4: build a w with two guys kind of ripping into
[43:01] Speaker 4: the backfield off the. Snap and High smith is such an,
[43:03] Speaker 4: intelligent outstanding run defender that you need to have him
[43:06] Speaker 4: on the field on those. Downs and so then it,
[43:08] Speaker 4: becomes well we butt a situational passers are on the
[43:11] Speaker 4: field or do we BUTT. Tj watt in the? FIELD
[43:13] Speaker 4: i think that's the difficulty they've had for, many many.
[43:15] Speaker 4: Seasons he is a sensational one on one. Passer, Shit
[43:19] Speaker 4: his get off is as good as anyone in The leak,
[43:21] Speaker 4: ben as good as anyone in The leak spin, move
[43:22] Speaker 4: as good as anyone in the. League if he played
[43:24] Speaker 4: for any of the, franchise he would be a walking
[43:27] Speaker 4: one on one killer who would be this household name
[43:29] Speaker 4: Of revere or at least Of. Reverence but he's. Not
[43:33] Speaker 4: because he plays The Pittsburgh. Steels they refuse to do
[43:35] Speaker 4: any kind of creative stuff with their defensive. Front they've
[43:38] Speaker 4: got the Old, reliables their High smiths really really.
[43:40] Speaker 1: GOOD.
[43:40] Speaker 4: Tj watt has been sensational for his entire career that
[43:43] Speaker 4: it's just been hard for them to get him on
[43:45] Speaker 4: the field as much he deserves to.
[43:46] Speaker 3: Be, yeah it's funny when you try to think of
[43:48] Speaker 3: coms For herbig just as a pure ball of.
[43:51] Speaker 1: FIRE i, MEAN.
[43:52] Speaker 3: Tj watt's not a bad. One they're good at drafting
[43:54] Speaker 3: him there In. Pittsburgh AND i think there's a lot
[43:57] Speaker 3: of People i'm sure you know this, too that share
[44:01] Speaker 3: your opinion On herbig around the. League and So i'm
[44:03] Speaker 3: curious what kind of how he handles this contract, situation
[44:07] Speaker 3: because he does not need to settle for any discount
[44:11] Speaker 3: for The, steelers but then you have to push it
[44:14] Speaker 3: to the franchise tag, potentially and just because if he
[44:17] Speaker 3: actually could get out, there if they were dumb enough
[44:19] Speaker 3: to make that. Happen you, know he you know, preview
[44:23] Speaker 3: he's number one on my overall, list and he's getting
[44:25] Speaker 3: a wild number Whatever Jalen phillips, go and then some
[44:29] Speaker 3: by a good, AMOUNT i.
[44:30] Speaker 4: THINK i, Mean i've been crying out for teams to
[44:32] Speaker 4: trade for him. Forever if these guys aren't going to use,
[44:34] Speaker 4: him they're gonna value him as a thirty five percent
[44:36] Speaker 4: of the snap type player going off on.
[44:37] Speaker 1: Them a second round.
[44:38] Speaker 4: Pick they'd give him up and he would be an
[44:39] Speaker 4: immediate impactful player for almost any team in the.
[44:42] Speaker 3: LEAGUE i think they will use him differently this. YEAR
[44:46] Speaker 3: i suspect with the new coaching, staff he gets paid.
[44:48] Speaker 3: More do we go back to Back steelers three out
[44:51] Speaker 3: of Five steelers here in High smith next we do? Not,
[44:56] Speaker 3: Okay like this is the range that he might go.
[44:59] Speaker 4: In this the Range i'm gonna, Say josh swept from
[45:03] Speaker 4: The cardinals woo love. IT i think of all the
[45:10] Speaker 4: dominant one on one pass which has put them against
[45:12] Speaker 4: any person in the, league and can they win the
[45:15] Speaker 4: rep against the best of the best.
[45:16] Speaker 1: Talent he's the.
[45:17] Speaker 4: Most underrated player in football BECAUSE i Think herbig has
[45:20] Speaker 4: this kind of online cult fan, base which is also
[45:23] Speaker 4: the Entire steelers fan base who recognize that he's not
[45:25] Speaker 4: being played off. Of Josh sweat never ever gets talked
[45:28] Speaker 4: about in the elite. Company they just one on, one
[45:31] Speaker 4: high end reps against the best. Talent he wins as
[45:34] Speaker 4: much As Will. Anderson he wins as much As Michael.
[45:36] Speaker 4: Parsons it doesn't always look as blurry as violent As
[45:39] Speaker 4: Michael parsons does. It but the end, outcome the bag of,
[45:43] Speaker 4: tricks the sequencinger moves together the different variety of. Moves
[45:47] Speaker 4: he just excels in handtown. Combat he's got the, speed
[45:49] Speaker 4: he's got the. Bend he's had unbelievable one on one
[45:52] Speaker 4: wins last season Against Trent, Williams Charles. Crossmaquanu it's like
[45:56] Speaker 4: you go through the really tough tackle in the league
[45:58] Speaker 4: and he can just climb people, consistently and you go
[46:02] Speaker 4: through The Brendan tholen tracks the high quality number of
[46:05] Speaker 4: sacks per. Snap he finished fifth in the league two
[46:09] Speaker 4: seasons in a. Row last year was behind Only Garrett
[46:12] Speaker 4: Paarson's hunter And Chise. Young it's the best of the,
[46:15] Speaker 4: best and that you cannot go through any part of
[46:17] Speaker 4: his game and say that full shot of the elite.
[46:20] Speaker 4: Standard he's just kind of lost in the conversation.
[46:22] Speaker 3: Consistently and he went To arizona on from the, outside
[46:27] Speaker 3: what looked, like, oh is that an. Overpay he's always
[46:29] Speaker 3: just kind of been one of the guys In philadelphia
[46:32] Speaker 3: and then he goes To. Arizona backs it up with
[46:34] Speaker 3: that season that you just mentioned twelve, SACKS i Said
[46:37] Speaker 3: Abdol carter for you, know first in time to. Pressure,
[46:40] Speaker 3: Earlier Josh sweats was second in the entire, league and
[46:44] Speaker 3: we talked before we. Started, YEAH i WISH i could
[46:46] Speaker 3: go back and just watch a little more of these.
[46:48] Speaker 3: GUYS i spent a long time prepping in, everything BUT
[46:50] Speaker 3: i couldn't watch. Everyone And sweat was one of those.
[46:52] Speaker 3: Guys because ONCE i looked at the, NUMBERS i just
[46:55] Speaker 3: kept pushing him up and up and up on my.
[46:58] Speaker 3: LIST i still not even as high as, you and
[46:59] Speaker 3: MAYBE i should. Have and the THING i wrote was
[47:01] Speaker 3: because WHY i wanted to watch him is just flashier
[47:03] Speaker 3: than you, think which backs UP i guess what you just.
[47:06] Speaker 1: Said it's fun to watch he is.
[47:08] Speaker 4: An old tingle team. Player is that you have to
[47:12] Speaker 4: get up and go for a walk, around going this
[47:13] Speaker 4: is too much, fun having a great time at Watching Josh.
[47:16] Speaker 1: SWAT i think it's time For Brian.
[47:20] Speaker 3: Burns you, know we talked about quick, pressures twenty three
[47:24] Speaker 3: quick pressures last. Year he's sixteen and a half. Sacks
[47:27] Speaker 3: he's not gonna give you those sacks every. Year his
[47:29] Speaker 3: pressure to sack ratio last year was so, High but
[47:32] Speaker 3: what he is every year is pretty much the same.
[47:34] Speaker 3: Player and the production just popped up like crazy last.
[47:37] Speaker 3: Year but there's a reason that they gave him the
[47:39] Speaker 3: money and that they traded for him because he just
[47:41] Speaker 3: gives you what you. WANT i, think in a maybe
[47:45] Speaker 3: less well rounded way To josh Heinz. ALLEN i think
[47:48] Speaker 3: of them as just like, GUYS i know What i'm gonna,
[47:51] Speaker 3: get and, yeah last, year suddenly he has like fifteen
[47:53] Speaker 3: sixteen sacks and fifteen quarterback.
[47:55] Speaker 1: Hits he gets more. Attention he had some unblocked, pressures.
[48:00] Speaker 3: But he's got that, quickness you, know coming off the
[48:02] Speaker 3: snap and at this position in. Particular you know you're
[48:06] Speaker 3: saying you want to see a guy who performs in
[48:08] Speaker 3: the biggest of. Spots he's just been on bad. Teams
[48:12] Speaker 3: BUT i do think of him as a very trustworthy.
[48:15] Speaker 3: PLAYER i know Who Brian burns is And i'm taking
[48:18] Speaker 3: him sixteenth.
[48:18] Speaker 4: Overall know who he is is, fair whether he is
[48:22] Speaker 4: the best at the thing that you know him to.
[48:24] Speaker 4: DO i would probably question last season's. PRODUCTION i thought
[48:28] Speaker 4: was a bit of an. Outline he has been that
[48:30] Speaker 4: same player for a long. Time it was a lot
[48:32] Speaker 4: of unblocked, Stuff it was a lot of schemed up.
[48:34] Speaker 4: Stuff it was a lot of the attention is going
[48:36] Speaker 4: to everywhere. Else this abdol, card the guy you just,
[48:38] Speaker 4: mentioned is first in time to pressure by a pretty significant.
[48:41] Speaker 4: Distance it's like two point three nine seconds or. SOMETHING
[48:43] Speaker 4: i think Abdol cards is times pressures that is so ludicrously.
[48:46] Speaker 4: Fast so the lightning's coming off one. Side he Got
[48:49] Speaker 4: Dex lawrence inside absolutely terrifying to figure out what to
[48:52] Speaker 4: do with the nose Tackle luco rush the, passer and
[48:54] Speaker 4: Then burns just kind of swoops it off the edge
[48:56] Speaker 4: and he was just unblocked so, consistently or they would
[48:58] Speaker 4: game a fight and kind of swoop me inside with
[49:00] Speaker 4: the with the free run to the. Quarterback SO i
[49:02] Speaker 4: just thought it was a lot more manufactured stuff last
[49:05] Speaker 4: season than him just being a REALLY i don't think
[49:08] Speaker 4: he's a dominant one to one passers WHERE i put
[49:10] Speaker 4: him more in That benito. BOOCKET i don't think he
[49:12] Speaker 4: quite has that get off.
[49:13] Speaker 3: That benito has no or else he would have gone further.
[49:17] Speaker 3: Now at one, point The rams crazy little sliding doors,
[49:21] Speaker 3: moment like tried to give up the farm all these
[49:25] Speaker 3: picks For Brian, burns and the panther said, no, like
[49:28] Speaker 3: we don't want, to we don't want your two first
[49:30] Speaker 3: For Brian, burns and they end up settling like. THAT
[49:32] Speaker 3: i wonder what The rams build would have been. Like
[49:35] Speaker 3: but he was the type of player to inspire that
[49:37] Speaker 3: sort of. Confidence and, yet AS i said, THAT i
[49:39] Speaker 3: felt LIKE i was trying to convince. Myself MAYBE i
[49:41] Speaker 3: should have waited a few more, Spots BUT i feel
[49:44] Speaker 3: fine With.
[49:44] Speaker 1: Burns there what you got at.
[49:46] Speaker 4: Seventeen i'm going to Take Jalen phillips from The panthers
[49:50] Speaker 4: went healthy that the variety of, moves the quality of the,
[49:54] Speaker 4: movement again going up against the elite, competition just because
[49:58] Speaker 4: how he moves differently and he can sequence so many
[50:00] Speaker 4: different things. Together you see people Like Spencer brown just
[50:04] Speaker 4: their heads of. Spinning those guys can deal with the,
[50:06] Speaker 4: best and they go up Against Jalen. Phillips he just
[50:08] Speaker 4: has a way of nimbly and subtly and. AWFULLY i
[50:12] Speaker 4: think he's probably won The Pete craftsman at the. Position
[50:16] Speaker 4: AND i really admired. That and THEN i thought when
[50:18] Speaker 4: you got To, philadelphia it was a little bit more
[50:20] Speaker 4: streamlined and they would just kind of like head, down
[50:22] Speaker 4: we get off the ball and go. Hit and he
[50:24] Speaker 4: showed THAT i can display get off the ball and go.
[50:26] Speaker 4: FOOTBALL i WANT i have all the men AND i
[50:27] Speaker 4: have all the burst if. Needed but then he also
[50:30] Speaker 4: has this secondary, trait which is just.
[50:32] Speaker 3: The, intellect the wow plays and just really for his,
[50:37] Speaker 3: size the versatility are. Awesome and the crazy thing, IS
[50:42] Speaker 3: i think he's gonna be better another year away from
[50:46] Speaker 3: those devastating. Injuries to come back from those two season
[50:50] Speaker 3: ending injuries in a, row and to be that physically
[50:53] Speaker 3: impressive the first season. BACK i don't think he was
[50:57] Speaker 3: even as good or as just athletically impressive last year
[51:02] Speaker 3: as he was in what was that the twenty two
[51:04] Speaker 3: season for The, dolphins when he's, just to me a total.
[51:07] Speaker 3: Freak SO i think if he's, healthy to, me he
[51:10] Speaker 3: has the highest. Ceiling WHEN i wrote him, down and
[51:12] Speaker 3: this was in the same area ish THAT i, HAD
[51:15] Speaker 3: i have a group of, players BUT i wrote of this,
[51:17] Speaker 3: GROUP i thought he has the highest ceiling of any
[51:20] Speaker 3: of this group of players if it all goes, perfectly, Well.
[51:23] Speaker 4: YEAH i really thought he was going to be. Cooked
[51:25] Speaker 4: and he was a PLAYER i just adored watching every
[51:27] Speaker 4: single weekend and just, thought this is a.
[51:29] Speaker 1: Wrap the injuries are too.
[51:30] Speaker 4: Much his game was based on intelligence and craft more
[51:34] Speaker 4: than it was the. Burst but the burst gives you
[51:36] Speaker 4: access to do all the fun creative. Things it's a
[51:38] Speaker 4: similar conversation With layout tu last was he quite explosive
[51:41] Speaker 4: enough to be able to access all the? Intellect someone Like,
[51:44] Speaker 4: hunt who has all this imagination can get away with
[51:46] Speaker 4: it because you can also run through your. Face so
[51:48] Speaker 4: you got got to worry about that for him to
[51:50] Speaker 4: be able to pull these moves. TOGETHER i thought last
[51:52] Speaker 4: year he proved that even if he's never back to
[51:54] Speaker 4: being the player he was at the peak peak days In,
[51:57] Speaker 4: miami he can now work around. That he's athletic enough
[52:00] Speaker 4: again to them be able to bring all kind of
[52:03] Speaker 4: the craft into.
[52:03] Speaker 3: It, yeah there's a couple of players. HERE i just
[52:06] Speaker 3: feel bad have fallen this. FAR i think it is,
[52:09] Speaker 3: time by the, way for the off season ride along
[52:12] Speaker 3: presented By. Toyota you KNOW i mentioned one of them.
[52:15] Speaker 3: Earlier i'm gonna Take Jonathan, garnard maybe just BECAUSE i
[52:20] Speaker 3: just took the safe pick earlier And i'm going to
[52:22] Speaker 3: take someone that to me is a little more. Fun
[52:25] Speaker 3: Jonathan garnard now with The, eagles think it's probably the
[52:28] Speaker 3: most important player they acquired this off season is going
[52:31] Speaker 3: to be really important to their team. Build being right
[52:33] Speaker 3: about that, contract being right about that. Trait he is
[52:36] Speaker 3: a guy in a different way Than. Verse doesn't always finish,
[52:40] Speaker 3: plays but is very good and there's a lot of quick.
[52:43] Speaker 3: Pressure we've talked about time to pressure a lot on this.
[52:46] Speaker 3: Show he was fourth in THE nfl last, year which,
[52:49] Speaker 3: was you, know his worst season since he broke out
[52:52] Speaker 3: in terms of you, know, sacks but a little Like Danielle,
[52:56] Speaker 3: hunter the guy he replaced In, minnesota just a fun
[53:00] Speaker 3: player in terms OF i think he's. SMART i think
[53:02] Speaker 3: he's got a lot of different. MOVES i think he's a.
[53:05] Speaker 3: PRO i think he's gonna figure out how to get
[53:09] Speaker 3: more production this, year how to make that contract. Work
[53:12] Speaker 3: so on one, HAND i feel safe taking, him and
[53:15] Speaker 3: then just with the juice that he, HAS i do
[53:17] Speaker 3: think there's a nice. Ceiling it's a good. COMBINATION i
[53:20] Speaker 3: can see why how he's betting out. Him if how
[53:22] Speaker 3: he's betting, HIM i shouldn't feel bad about betting on.
[53:24] Speaker 4: Him he has some of the best hand you see
[53:26] Speaker 4: in the. LEAGUE i think the decline in production is
[53:28] Speaker 4: greatly over. State you just go and watch. Him he
[53:31] Speaker 4: is inches away from finishing some of these. Plays it's
[53:33] Speaker 4: not like he's falling off. Sack so there's some kind
[53:35] Speaker 4: of like problem that it's just. Happenstance sometimes you just close.
[53:38] Speaker 4: Enough sometimes the balls out split second before you can
[53:41] Speaker 4: finish it to, them just like clearing the, bodies winning
[53:43] Speaker 4: the one on one. Rep he's still doing that the
[53:46] Speaker 4: same level he's did during his best days with The.
[53:49] Speaker 4: Vikings SO i just think he's an incredibly efficient Pass.
[53:52] Speaker 4: RUSSIA i think he can be up on any style of,
[53:54] Speaker 4: tackle which is SOMETHING i really. COVET i think The
[53:56] Speaker 4: eagles really covet. That that's why Jayaln phillips is the
[53:59] Speaker 4: guy the id like does any variety of. Tackle it's
[54:02] Speaker 4: not just a verse type play where it's head, down
[54:04] Speaker 4: we're doing the same thing over and over. Again we
[54:06] Speaker 4: want some more. Creativity who wants more? Versatility they know
[54:09] Speaker 4: what they've got going on. Inside they know they've got
[54:11] Speaker 4: the kind of howitzers straight down the, line powerushes on
[54:14] Speaker 4: Opposite Jonathan, grenard and so With grenard.
[54:17] Speaker 1: You do get a little bit more of the versatility and.
[54:19] Speaker 3: Variety that was the off season ride along presented By.
[54:23] Speaker 3: Toyota when your people are you the, destination your ride is.
[54:26] Speaker 3: Important learn more at toyota dot com and find the
[54:30] Speaker 3: vehicle that fits your, people all your next with pick, Nineteen.
[54:35] Speaker 4: I'm going to Take Leaatu latu from The, colts a
[54:38] Speaker 4: player WHO i will admit doesn't matter how long we
[54:41] Speaker 4: do this show, together one, year ten, years every season
[54:44] Speaker 4: we do this, Thing i'll be Taking Leatu lato in
[54:47] Speaker 4: this range unless there is a breakout that pushes him
[54:49] Speaker 4: into the top. TEN i will never ever quit a player,
[54:51] Speaker 4: who when you watch, him he is as unorthodox as
[54:55] Speaker 4: any pass us you're playing in the. League he doesn't
[54:57] Speaker 4: even really play football a lot of the. Time it's
[54:59] Speaker 4: like he's doing these mma, moves like Some tajikistan type
[55:02] Speaker 4: stuff going. ON i don't know where he's learned. This
[55:05] Speaker 4: it's a complete unique variety of Pass russia just seems
[55:08] Speaker 4: and feels impossible to block for prolonged. Stretches the finishing
[55:12] Speaker 4: is probably the. Concern when he does finish, plays it's
[55:16] Speaker 4: as mind blowing as you've ever seen someone do. It
[55:19] Speaker 4: he's also become excellent in, coverage WHICH i think is
[55:21] Speaker 4: a boost that a lot of the guys we've talked
[55:23] Speaker 4: about don't quite having the. Game he's become really gifted
[55:26] Speaker 4: in the wrong, game which is not a. Strength coming
[55:28] Speaker 4: out in. COLLEGE i do wonder will he ever, have
[55:32] Speaker 4: AS i mentioned, before that initial jolt off the, ball
[55:35] Speaker 4: to be able to access all the ingenuity that he
[55:38] Speaker 4: has in, him or will he always just be a
[55:39] Speaker 4: really fun player who teams are happy to have out,
[55:43] Speaker 4: there but will never kind of crack the top, ten
[55:46] Speaker 4: top six of the.
[55:47] Speaker 3: Position that he improved a lot as as a second year,
[55:50] Speaker 3: PLAYER i really liked him coming out of the. Draft
[55:52] Speaker 3: he maybe a little Like Danill, hunters a guy with
[55:55] Speaker 3: such a deep bag of moves that it takes some
[55:58] Speaker 3: time in THE nfl to learn when to use them
[56:02] Speaker 3: and when not. TO i don't know if he faded
[56:05] Speaker 3: down the, stretch BUT i thought he really started last season.
[56:08] Speaker 3: WELL i think he's probably improved as more of like
[56:10] Speaker 3: a complete player on rundowns, Too and so that would
[56:13] Speaker 3: hurt me because he's one of my favorites, too and we're.
[56:16] Speaker 3: PROJECTING i THOUGHT i projected a nice improvement from, him
[56:20] Speaker 3: but not. Enough twenty twenty, six all, right our number
[56:23] Speaker 3: twenty pick in this. Draft you can hear me hemming Hind.
[56:28] Speaker 3: WELL i Mentioned Alex highsmith a while. AGO i just feel,
[56:30] Speaker 3: like let's, RESPECT i was going to, say the old,
[56:33] Speaker 3: guy but he's right in the middle of his. Career
[56:35] Speaker 3: he's twenty twenty nine years, old and he's an all around.
[56:39] Speaker 3: Player your Buddy John ledyard likes to mention how he
[56:42] Speaker 3: doesn't understand Why Alex highsmith is a plus and, coverage
[56:46] Speaker 3: but like he has a good feel of making some
[56:49] Speaker 3: plays even in coverage, sometimes which is pretty. Rare, yeah
[56:53] Speaker 3: out to a lots who had three. Interceptions not many
[56:54] Speaker 3: people are going to do this at this. Position THE
[56:56] Speaker 3: pff overall great. Here i'm going to USE pff when
[56:59] Speaker 3: it's suits my needs BECAUSE i do think it tells
[57:02] Speaker 3: a story about Who Alex highsmith is as a player
[57:04] Speaker 3: because they include run. Defense they include tackling the last
[57:09] Speaker 3: three seasons for you, know players hitting a minimum threshold
[57:12] Speaker 3: of snaps thirteenth last, year eighth the year, before tenth
[57:17] Speaker 3: the year before.
[57:18] Speaker 1: That and.
[57:20] Speaker 3: You mentioned earlier when talking About, okay, well you have
[57:23] Speaker 3: High smith cleaning up a lot of what they want
[57:25] Speaker 3: to do on the run, defense and so you have
[57:28] Speaker 3: to you can't Have herbic And watt necessarily out there to.
[57:30] Speaker 3: GO i mean that to me helps describe why High
[57:33] Speaker 3: smith is so. GOOD a guy who would fit on
[57:35] Speaker 3: every single, team is a complete, player is a good pass,
[57:39] Speaker 3: rusher is still in his. PRIME i just DON'T i
[57:42] Speaker 3: don't see much reason to let him go much. Further,
[57:44] Speaker 3: No I'm i'm devastated you're able to snag. Him probably
[57:48] Speaker 3: should have taken him a fall a lot.
[57:49] Speaker 1: TOO i had him. MUCH i don't know what it
[57:51] Speaker 1: is About Alex.
[57:52] Speaker 3: Heith i'm saying that like he's he, should we should
[57:55] Speaker 3: be more excited about, Him and YET i think both
[57:57] Speaker 3: of us let him fall further than he actually WASN'T
[57:59] Speaker 3: i had him like four or five spots higher on my.
[58:01] Speaker 4: Board that one's going to hurt WHEN i see the
[58:03] Speaker 4: graphic BECAUSE i really Loved Nick, herbig AND i really
[58:06] Speaker 4: do think that if he played for a team that
[58:08] Speaker 4: let him play full, time he would have a monster.
[58:10] Speaker 4: Season it feels a little disrespectful to have him go
[58:14] Speaker 4: that far Before Alex. Highsmith he's just as an all
[58:16] Speaker 4: around valuable. Player Nick herbig does the most valuable thing
[58:20] Speaker 4: better Than Alex, highsmith But HeiG spid does that most
[58:23] Speaker 4: valuable thing at a, really really high. Level the quick
[58:25] Speaker 4: pressure rate is off the. SCALE i think he was
[58:27] Speaker 4: fifth in time to pressure last, season which isn't really
[58:30] Speaker 4: the mainstay of his, game as you, mentioned it's more
[58:32] Speaker 4: the all around impact that he has on the. Defense
[58:35] Speaker 4: but he has been able to really elevate terms of
[58:38] Speaker 4: the high quality number of wins that he has that
[58:40] Speaker 4: it's not just this kind of second surge effort based
[58:43] Speaker 4: stuff where what goes flying off one side then he
[58:45] Speaker 4: kind of comes from and cleans on the other. Side
[58:47] Speaker 4: he started to become a really good three way rush
[58:49] Speaker 4: in his own.
[58:50] Speaker 3: Right all, right one more break before we Let Eric
[58:53] Speaker 3: roberts Free Memorial day. Weekend he's, like, we, oh let's
[58:58] Speaker 3: maybe try to make this show a little. Quicker we
[59:00] Speaker 3: have a mission, Here, eric and that is to provide
[59:03] Speaker 3: The sikos the most in depth annual. Rankings we are
[59:06] Speaker 3: doing this every single, year and this is our one
[59:09] Speaker 3: chance to give a nice couple of minute conversation About Alex.
[59:12] Speaker 3: Heismith we'll be back in a few, minutes.
[59:22] Speaker 1: Back ON Nfl.
[59:23] Speaker 3: Daily, yeah if you're, overseas it might not be aware
[59:26] Speaker 3: holiday here in The, States Memorial day On. Monday taking
[59:32] Speaker 3: my father in, law who's in town From japan for
[59:34] Speaker 3: the first time in many years to A dodgers game
[59:39] Speaker 3: On Memorial day that's gonna be.
[59:40] Speaker 1: Fun we're going To vegas On. Saturday it's a big
[59:44] Speaker 1: it's a big. Weekend it's a big weekn. WEEKEND i.
[59:49] Speaker 3: KNOW i think we're gonna take my son to some Fancy.
[59:51] Speaker 3: Sushie let's go To pick twenty. One we're doing the
[59:54] Speaker 3: top edge. Rushers you are up, Next.
[59:57] Speaker 1: Dolly i'm gonna Take Yaya diabi from the.
[59:59] Speaker 4: Book eric is beside himself with joy for the ten
[1:00:03] Speaker 4: Minute Yaya diabe conversation before he gets To.
[1:00:05] Speaker 3: Disney eric loves his. Job i've just poken fun at.
[1:00:08] Speaker 3: Him he loves The dabey.
[1:00:10] Speaker 4: Talk diabby is in that Similar jared verse mold of
[1:00:15] Speaker 4: the Out Impure Power. Russia AND i thought When Hassan
[1:00:18] Speaker 4: reddick was engaged for The books for at least those
[1:00:20] Speaker 4: first two, weeks he really wanted to play football for the.
[1:00:23] Speaker 4: Books for A, fortnite you got to see him in
[1:00:25] Speaker 4: his ideal, spot which was from one side you get
[1:00:28] Speaker 4: kind of the, press the diagonal push in the, pocket
[1:00:30] Speaker 4: and on the other side you got the swoop around the,
[1:00:32] Speaker 4: edge and it really showed you again the complete elements
[1:00:35] Speaker 4: Of DRB's. GAME i think him And Reuben bain together
[1:00:37] Speaker 4: is a pretty devastating duo in terms of the crossover
[1:00:40] Speaker 4: of skill. Sets he Like, VERSE i, think has a
[1:00:43] Speaker 4: little bit of that pressure inflation stuff going on where
[1:00:47] Speaker 4: it's a lot of perceived pressure because it just proximity
[1:00:49] Speaker 4: to the. Quarterback it's not quite as devastating as someone
[1:00:52] Speaker 4: Like versus able to tap into, consistently but it's a
[1:00:55] Speaker 4: really good out to Empower. RUSSIA i like those. Guys
[1:00:59] Speaker 4: he's a really talent run, defenders So i'm gonna take The.
[1:01:01] Speaker 1: Abbida i'm.
[1:01:03] Speaker 3: Annoyed he's great, Stopping like his run stop numbers are
[1:01:07] Speaker 3: terrific and you can just see. It he was on
[1:01:10] Speaker 3: our all underrated team earlier this. SEASON i love how
[1:01:13] Speaker 3: he backed up his breakout. Season i'm annoyed because you're
[1:01:15] Speaker 3: taking the GUYS i feel, like are quote unquote my,
[1:01:18] Speaker 3: Guys and Yet i'm gonna take someone next just to
[1:01:21] Speaker 3: be a little spicy who has never been one of my,
[1:01:24] Speaker 3: guys WHO i suspect is not one of your guys
[1:01:26] Speaker 3: and wasn't gonna get taken this.
[1:01:27] Speaker 1: High AND i just got to give.
[1:01:29] Speaker 3: Up give it up For Chase young coming off last
[1:01:32] Speaker 3: season that like getting off the snap last, year number
[1:01:37] Speaker 3: one by far Is.
[1:01:39] Speaker 1: Garrett number three Is.
[1:01:41] Speaker 3: Benito like the people that you expect in terms of
[1:01:44] Speaker 3: get off according to Next gen, stats are all the
[1:01:46] Speaker 3: people you.
[1:01:46] Speaker 1: Expect Jonathan cooper is up. There it's a great get.
[1:01:48] Speaker 4: Up you.
[1:01:49] Speaker 1: Know it was number. Two it Was chase Freaking.
[1:01:51] Speaker 3: Young his pressures they were quick second and quick pressure
[1:01:55] Speaker 3: percentage like the statistical, profile and he didn't have as
[1:01:58] Speaker 3: many snaps last. YEAR i was pretty. OUTRAGEOUS i feel
[1:02:02] Speaker 3: LIKE i slept on his comeback. Season he is someone
[1:02:05] Speaker 3: THAT i decided to go back and watch because he
[1:02:07] Speaker 3: was seventh in past rush win. Ray if you just
[1:02:09] Speaker 3: look at the statistical, profile he actually deserved to go
[1:02:12] Speaker 3: even higher in this.
[1:02:14] Speaker 1: DRAFT i couldn't get.
[1:02:15] Speaker 3: There but WHEN i went back to, WATCH i did
[1:02:18] Speaker 3: think whether it was the, injuries the, coaching just being
[1:02:21] Speaker 3: in the league long, enough he is playing his best.
[1:02:23] Speaker 3: Football it's more, mature for lack of a better, word
[1:02:26] Speaker 3: and he's got the juice like he is starting to
[1:02:29] Speaker 3: really live up to the spot where he got.
[1:02:31] Speaker 1: DRAFTED i just want to Give Chase young a little.
[1:02:33] Speaker 1: LOVE i think it's a completely fat.
[1:02:35] Speaker 4: Pick my only thing would be that he was more
[1:02:37] Speaker 4: of a situational guy and no one we drafted so
[1:02:40] Speaker 4: far as a situational. Play some those guys may have
[1:02:42] Speaker 4: more that. Usage Her big is, borderline so it'd Be
[1:02:45] Speaker 4: herbig and YOUNG i think will be the comparison. There
[1:02:48] Speaker 4: his last, season seventy five percent of his sacks killed.
[1:02:51] Speaker 4: Drives there is no one even in the vicinity it's
[1:02:54] Speaker 4: usually fifty, percent is like The.
[1:02:56] Speaker 1: Max so he was.
[1:02:57] Speaker 4: Absurd AND i think all around with The, saints we
[1:02:59] Speaker 4: discussed on multiple of these shows that over them. PEOPLE
[1:03:02] Speaker 4: i think recognizing naturally The tyler shuck looked pretty good
[1:03:05] Speaker 4: coming in last. Season maybe they have an answer they'll
[1:03:07] Speaker 4: find out next. Season all across the, BOARD i thought
[1:03:10] Speaker 4: the development was. Huge they got themselves the best subbrusher
[1:03:12] Speaker 4: in the. League that offensive line is filled with young.
[1:03:14] Speaker 4: TALENTLY i did a really good. Veteran so they were
[1:03:17] Speaker 4: really the kind of the some green spurts of stuff
[1:03:20] Speaker 4: that isn't just hanging on to the last vestiges of
[1:03:22] Speaker 4: the previous.
[1:03:23] Speaker 3: Team, YEAH i wanted to see whether the, set you,
[1:03:25] Speaker 3: know sex a little fluky or what's happening. Here it's
[1:03:28] Speaker 3: like they were pretty, impressive plenty of them against good,
[1:03:31] Speaker 3: players AND i get it why they brought, me you,
[1:03:34] Speaker 3: know they brought him. IN i was a little surprised by.
[1:03:36] Speaker 3: THAT i thought it was a good value the first.
[1:03:38] Speaker 3: Contract was a little surprised by the second. One But,
[1:03:41] Speaker 3: Mickey mickey's feeling. Himself let's see If mickey can hit
[1:03:44] Speaker 3: another home run with that contract that they Gave Chase.
[1:03:46] Speaker 1: Young all, right you're up.
[1:03:47] Speaker 4: Next i'm going to take two le two plot from The,
[1:03:50] Speaker 4: chargers a player WHO i was not on board with that.
[1:03:54] Speaker 1: Toll he's a GUY i really went and. Studied this.
[1:03:56] Speaker 4: WEEK i asked a right tackle in the. LEAGUE i
[1:03:59] Speaker 4: sent him my Nice, wow who is the guy THAT
[1:04:02] Speaker 4: i am? On?
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: Bragg who is the guy THAT i am? Lowest?
[1:04:06] Speaker 4: Done and he said. Two ploto is the most annoying
[1:04:09] Speaker 4: person to block in the. League and when you go
[1:04:11] Speaker 4: and watch the film you can see all the numbers
[1:04:12] Speaker 4: which are really. Impressive he has a really funky style
[1:04:17] Speaker 4: where he's, small he just kind of barrels himself into
[1:04:19] Speaker 4: the chest of. Blockers there's not a whole lot of
[1:04:21] Speaker 4: skill going. On there's not a whole lot of, technique
[1:04:23] Speaker 4: but he has the most explosive disengagement is how it described,
[1:04:27] Speaker 4: It like there's three phases of a pass. Frush the
[1:04:30] Speaker 4: first two phases are so so with. Him the third
[1:04:32] Speaker 4: phase he slingshots off people and just closes like few
[1:04:36] Speaker 4: of the people as consistently in the, league and he
[1:04:39] Speaker 4: just seems like a nuisance to block down, in down,
[1:04:42] Speaker 4: Out and there are some more. Moves AND i gave
[1:04:44] Speaker 4: him credit FOR i booked at him slightly in The
[1:04:47] Speaker 4: george Carl loft this type vein where it's, Like, okay
[1:04:50] Speaker 4: good players around, them good, scheme maybe slightly inflated, production
[1:04:54] Speaker 4: not that great of an. Athlete and WHEN i went
[1:04:56] Speaker 4: back through on a full rewatching study of, HIM i
[1:04:58] Speaker 4: was really really impressed with the development of.
[1:05:00] Speaker 1: Him that's good to.
[1:05:01] Speaker 3: Hear AND i only had one or two guys left
[1:05:04] Speaker 3: that it would be ahead of.
[1:05:05] Speaker 1: Him so this is the same AREA i had.
[1:05:07] Speaker 3: Him, yeah part of the reason he would even be
[1:05:09] Speaker 3: this low, Is, yeah he had the great sack production last.
[1:05:12] Speaker 3: Year he doubled his career total with thirteen in one.
[1:05:14] Speaker 3: Season and he's not thought of as like a plus run.
[1:05:17] Speaker 3: Defender you could tell me if you, disagree and that
[1:05:21] Speaker 3: the statistical profile in terms of the time to, pressure
[1:05:23] Speaker 3: it is a lot of hustle stuff there is some
[1:05:25] Speaker 3: unblocked stuff in, there but that to me is almost
[1:05:28] Speaker 3: the reason that he's not top. Fifteen that this makes
[1:05:31] Speaker 3: sense for, Me and someone that would absolutely agree would Be,
[1:05:35] Speaker 3: jeremiah who watches him each and every, week AND i
[1:05:37] Speaker 3: think has had a similar evolution to the one that
[1:05:41] Speaker 3: you went through just this week after that right tackle
[1:05:44] Speaker 3: told you that of just like the more he has
[1:05:45] Speaker 3: watched him over and, over he has really appreciated what
[1:05:48] Speaker 3: his game brings to.
[1:05:49] Speaker 4: This it's because you're not finding any like a plus.
[1:05:52] Speaker 4: Skill well even you mentioned cha, Shung like the get
[1:05:54] Speaker 4: off from the strength is like that looks like the
[1:05:56] Speaker 4: great ones with Two. Poloto it's like it's a lot
[1:05:58] Speaker 4: OF b TO b plus stuff adds up to the.
[1:06:00] Speaker 4: Hole is just impactful and he. Creates he doesn't have
[1:06:04] Speaker 4: anywhere near the inline power Of Versal garret all the
[1:06:07] Speaker 4: really great. Plays but limbs just fly everywhere around. HIM
[1:06:11] Speaker 4: i don't even know what it. Is he just gets
[1:06:12] Speaker 4: on of the Pat levely rocks into people and limbs
[1:06:15] Speaker 4: just fly all over the. Place you can watch The,
[1:06:17] Speaker 4: vikings The, colts The, dolphins just feels like every other
[1:06:20] Speaker 4: rep guys are just chasing the backfield is just a,
[1:06:23] Speaker 4: mess and it starts with Two.
[1:06:24] Speaker 3: Poluto i'll go With Trayvon walker at twenty. FOUR i
[1:06:28] Speaker 3: gotta put my money where my mouth is saying he's
[1:06:31] Speaker 3: been a pretty underrated. Player it wasn't his best season last.
[1:06:34] Speaker 3: Year he was definitely playing through. Injury it actually impacts
[1:06:37] Speaker 3: my ranking that they gave him that contract off of
[1:06:40] Speaker 3: that season because they don't have any doubt About Trayvon,
[1:06:43] Speaker 3: walker and SO i think you're gonna get a better overall.
[1:06:46] Speaker 1: SEASON i think.
[1:06:48] Speaker 3: The general consensus on him is, Right, like he's just
[1:06:52] Speaker 3: a powerful man that was great against the run and
[1:06:55] Speaker 3: is a dog and is pretty selfless and a guy
[1:06:59] Speaker 3: that you want on your. Team he's on my. Team Trayvon.
[1:07:02] Speaker 4: Walker, yeah another one who's excellent in the stunt and twist.
[1:07:05] Speaker 4: Game they have probably two of the five best stunt
[1:07:08] Speaker 4: twist players in the. League they played. Together it's kind of.
[1:07:10] Speaker 4: Helpful and, YEAH i think he's just been purely a
[1:07:13] Speaker 4: victim of the fact of why he was. Selected he's
[1:07:16] Speaker 4: turned into being a really good player and a lot
[1:07:18] Speaker 4: Of No one overall picks fail miserably or just. So
[1:07:21] Speaker 4: SO i think he's much better than. That it just
[1:07:23] Speaker 4: so happens that he was taken Before Aiden, hutchinson which
[1:07:26] Speaker 4: is a, whiff but on the trajectory of a lot
[1:07:28] Speaker 4: of nomb one overall, picks he's had a really good.
[1:07:30] Speaker 4: GRIN i think if we did the list again next,
[1:07:33] Speaker 4: year he's more talented still than guys Like Toya. Poloto
[1:07:37] Speaker 4: he's got a similar profile to someone Like Yaya. DABI
[1:07:40] Speaker 4: i wouldn't be surprised if he continues to group.
[1:07:41] Speaker 3: Up this exercise tricky because we only have what eight picks,
[1:07:45] Speaker 3: Left you're gonna have twenty five and you just think
[1:07:48] Speaker 3: of these, Guys, oh that's a top fifteen pass, rusher
[1:07:50] Speaker 3: that's a top twenty pass, rusher and you realize doing,
[1:07:52] Speaker 3: this there's gonna be some good players left off the.
[1:07:54] Speaker 3: Board and that's why you know when, fans let's Say jags,
[1:07:57] Speaker 3: fans when they when they've Seen Trayvon walker left off
[1:08:00] Speaker 3: like a top fifteen pass rusher list over, there and
[1:08:02] Speaker 3: they're kind of, Mad, hey he's. Underrated i'm a fan of,
[1:08:05] Speaker 3: him and he still only even gets in here at
[1:08:08] Speaker 3: twenty four as a good.
[1:08:09] Speaker 1: Player who you taking with twenty?
[1:08:10] Speaker 4: Five i'm Taking Byron young from The rams next. Time
[1:08:14] Speaker 4: maybe wear, too it's too, predictable really. Quick vicious hands
[1:08:22] Speaker 4: another guy who will sell his soul to the team.
[1:08:24] Speaker 4: CONSTRUCT i just love those guys that those guys can
[1:08:26] Speaker 4: play on my team any. Day sim of The walker
[1:08:29] Speaker 4: in that sense can win all three ways, inside, outside
[1:08:32] Speaker 4: through someone's, face has good pop on. Contact his development
[1:08:36] Speaker 4: arc is a really interesting, one probably too long for
[1:08:40] Speaker 4: or boring for this. Show but how he's kind of
[1:08:42] Speaker 4: fundamentally changed his mechanics to unlock the play he is
[1:08:45] Speaker 4: is absolutely is incredibly impressive from the play he Wasn't
[1:08:49] Speaker 4: tennessee to become the play he is in the, league
[1:08:52] Speaker 4: and how he wins in the.
[1:08:53] Speaker 3: League, yeah we're we're at the point of the draft
[1:08:56] Speaker 3: where we got to make sure we pick our. Favorites
[1:09:00] Speaker 3: now he quieted down a little. Bit you said you
[1:09:02] Speaker 3: want a guy who makes big plays in the biggest.
[1:09:05] Speaker 3: MOMENTS i, thought maybe his worst game it just so.
[1:09:07] Speaker 3: HAPPENS i haven't you, know rewatch that. One and he
[1:09:10] Speaker 3: was just kind of invisible in THE Nfc championship. Game
[1:09:12] Speaker 3: so that was a bad final impression for him to leave.
[1:09:16] Speaker 3: Me and yet like if you just look at the,
[1:09:18] Speaker 3: numbers they are, Outrageous Like Byron young is up, there
[1:09:22] Speaker 3: like in terms of hitting the, quarterback it's Basically Miles
[1:09:24] Speaker 3: Garrett hutchinson and Then Byron young last year and makes
[1:09:28] Speaker 3: way more plays in the running game last year than
[1:09:30] Speaker 3: he ever had. Before for a GUY i don't think
[1:09:32] Speaker 3: of as a big, guy he's what like two hundred
[1:09:34] Speaker 3: and fifty pounds and you can leave him out. There
[1:09:37] Speaker 3: they've leave him out. There he never leaves the, field,
[1:09:39] Speaker 3: no like since he's been. Drafted he's just like out there.
[1:09:43] Speaker 4: And all the pressure Gamest Fanny. Cream do they do
[1:09:47] Speaker 4: tease off around? Him that's just kind of as isolated
[1:09:49] Speaker 4: and what he does to the guy they have the
[1:09:51] Speaker 4: fun and games of His Byron, YOUNG i think that.
[1:09:52] Speaker 3: Matters, yeah almost like a thousand snaps basically every. Season
[1:09:56] Speaker 3: i'm trying to think of, like DO i want like
[1:09:58] Speaker 3: the safe player who kind of earned is by? Here
[1:10:01] Speaker 3: DO i just want someone that is? Fun DO i
[1:10:05] Speaker 3: just want to go big on The Jylex hunt breakout
[1:10:08] Speaker 3: season right? Now and just why? Not is that me
[1:10:11] Speaker 3: taking him too early for?
[1:10:12] Speaker 1: Him what do you?
[1:10:13] Speaker 3: Think i'm asking your. Opinion i'm just gonna Take Jylex.
[1:10:17] Speaker 3: HUNT i take some fun, players, okay, good? GOOD i
[1:10:21] Speaker 3: want to pin you another. GUY i THINK i connected
[1:10:25] Speaker 3: in mind because he was right Behind Byron young on
[1:10:27] Speaker 3: that list of how many times did you hit the
[1:10:30] Speaker 3: quarterback per pass? Rush he is right back. THERE i
[1:10:33] Speaker 3: think he's so good that he is going to impact
[1:10:38] Speaker 3: Like Nolan smith's money because he is better Than Nolan
[1:10:40] Speaker 3: smith And Nolan smith entering a contract. Year Nolan smith
[1:10:43] Speaker 3: just got arrested for driving one hundred and thirty seven
[1:10:47] Speaker 3: miles an. Hour that it's a news item we hadn't
[1:10:49] Speaker 3: hit on the, show and so you hate to see,
[1:10:52] Speaker 3: that like way too much of that. HAPPENING i Think
[1:10:55] Speaker 3: hunt is kind of passing him as just a guy
[1:10:57] Speaker 3: who Likes smith very strong and. Man when he was
[1:11:01] Speaker 3: Pushing Trent williams back a little bit in that, playoff
[1:11:04] Speaker 3: and that's what got me really, excited just, Like, okay
[1:11:06] Speaker 3: what's next for this.
[1:11:07] Speaker 4: DUDE i feel Like i've been leading The hunt hype
[1:11:10] Speaker 4: trained since the. Draft he's got all the tools to
[1:11:12] Speaker 4: be a. Superstar WHEN i started this, EXERCISE i had
[1:11:15] Speaker 4: him at. Fifteen THEN i was, like you kind of
[1:11:16] Speaker 4: high in your own supply, there SO i saw him
[1:11:18] Speaker 4: moving him down and trying to be. Sensible and Now
[1:11:20] Speaker 4: i'm devastated you're able to take him, HERE i would,
[1:11:24] Speaker 4: say when you go through, him And i'd take off
[1:11:26] Speaker 4: my glasses of LIKE i want him to be, great
[1:11:27] Speaker 4: BECAUSE i thought he could be great going into the.
[1:11:29] Speaker 4: DRAFT i didn't want to get caught in my. UnBias
[1:11:32] Speaker 4: he's a little bit one. NOTE a lot of stuff
[1:11:34] Speaker 4: happens very slowly for a guy as gifted as he,
[1:11:37] Speaker 4: is that there are levels he can ascend, to which
[1:11:39] Speaker 4: is WHAT i would bet, On AND i do think
[1:11:41] Speaker 4: this could be finally like the full breakout to being
[1:11:44] Speaker 4: more of a well rounded. Player but he's still just
[1:11:46] Speaker 4: incredibly raw for a guy who's now playing a ton of,
[1:11:48] Speaker 4: snaps AND i would have expected see it maybe a
[1:11:51] Speaker 4: little bit more development in terms of how he gets after.
[1:11:53] Speaker 4: It even tho way he runs is just. Funky he's
[1:11:55] Speaker 4: all on his. Tiptoes it's really, choppy it's just not
[1:11:57] Speaker 4: loose some, fluid and he's really naturally, explosive but it
[1:12:01] Speaker 4: isn't quite there when you watch the. Film it's a
[1:12:03] Speaker 4: lot of false. Stepping it's a lot of fitting three
[1:12:05] Speaker 4: steps in where you only need to and yet when
[1:12:08] Speaker 4: you watch him against some of the mid to lower
[1:12:11] Speaker 4: end tackles Like Rashid. Walker he just Annihilated and so
[1:12:14] Speaker 4: that is like clearing the first check mark for me
[1:12:16] Speaker 4: for a guy drafted where he are small school and
[1:12:18] Speaker 4: as you, mentioned even against the big, boys he has
[1:12:21] Speaker 4: the skill set to make the afternoon.
[1:12:23] Speaker 1: Uncomfortable AND i think that he's.
[1:12:24] Speaker 4: Got the toolbox to be able to go and be
[1:12:27] Speaker 4: if you're telling me who would crack the top, ten
[1:12:28] Speaker 4: where you'd be like a guy's gonna leap from the bottom,
[1:12:31] Speaker 4: third he would be the guy with better because if
[1:12:33] Speaker 4: he butts it, together he's gonna be a complete.
[1:12:34] Speaker 1: MENACE i, mean how about playing in a big.
[1:12:36] Speaker 3: Game he's one of the PEOPLE i remember most from
[1:12:38] Speaker 3: That Super bowl from just being. Live they just could
[1:12:42] Speaker 3: not handle his speed and power in that.
[1:12:44] Speaker 1: Game and that's as a. Rookie so that'll always stick with.
[1:12:47] Speaker 3: Me you have twenty, Seven you're at the point now
[1:12:49] Speaker 3: where it's, Like, okay you better take him or else
[1:12:52] Speaker 3: he just might not get.
[1:12:52] Speaker 1: Taken it.
[1:12:53] Speaker 4: Off i'm at the point as well where there's a
[1:12:56] Speaker 4: fan BASE i already know is getting really. Offended But
[1:12:58] Speaker 4: i'm gonna Take DeMarcus lauras from the Sea. HULKS i
[1:13:01] Speaker 4: don't even know who this fan base. Is, Okay i'll
[1:13:04] Speaker 4: love to. Revisit he's still one of the smartest pastors
[1:13:07] Speaker 4: in the. League And DeMarcus lawrence the getoff is still
[1:13:10] Speaker 4: that probably just the best less season pure edge rushing
[1:13:14] Speaker 4: run defender as an edge. Player don't think it's hard
[1:13:18] Speaker 4: to separate all all The seahawks miss of, it from the,
[1:13:21] Speaker 4: scheme from the interior, guys from the kind of cavalcade
[1:13:24] Speaker 4: of rushes they roll. THROUGH i still Think DeMarcus lawrence
[1:13:27] Speaker 4: has the juice to BE i think this is almost even.
[1:13:29] Speaker 4: Disrespectful but there's a bit of a. PROJECTION i think
[1:13:32] Speaker 4: he's just a better play than to a plow. To
[1:13:34] Speaker 4: but there's going to be some. Decline it would probably
[1:13:36] Speaker 4: come this. Season, yeah just a knack for big.
[1:13:39] Speaker 3: Plays you know the age he was coming off an,
[1:13:42] Speaker 3: injury but just he just wrecked. Stuff and, look he
[1:13:46] Speaker 3: was top fifteen in past rush win rate last. Year
[1:13:48] Speaker 3: it wasn't like it was all just you, know powering
[1:13:50] Speaker 3: people back into the, backfield the top fifteen IN. Pff
[1:13:53] Speaker 3: he's another guy who kind of like A, verse misses
[1:13:57] Speaker 3: a lot of tackles because he's.
[1:13:58] Speaker 1: Just there to miss.
[1:13:59] Speaker 3: Them but just creates, chaos one of my all time favorite.
[1:14:04] Speaker 3: Players i'm GLAD i was gonna make sure he went
[1:14:07] Speaker 3: in this. Draft that he was literally the GUY i
[1:14:09] Speaker 3: wrote at the bottom of just like take him with
[1:14:11] Speaker 3: your last pick if he's not, there because LIKE i
[1:14:13] Speaker 3: don't want to be part of a draft he doesn't get.
[1:14:15] Speaker 3: Taken all, right the fan, base there's a couple. Options
[1:14:18] Speaker 3: were you talking about The bears In Montes sweat Because
[1:14:21] Speaker 3: i'll take him off the board if, Not, NO i was.
[1:14:24] Speaker 4: NOT i think best funds on the stemweather, Right.
[1:14:26] Speaker 1: Okay ACTUALLY i don't want to take.
[1:14:28] Speaker 4: That having online meltdowns about the fact they didn't draft
[1:14:31] Speaker 4: A Ede, russia would they be doing that if they
[1:14:33] Speaker 4: were in love with Month As sweat.
[1:14:34] Speaker 3: Then then MAYBE i don't, Know BUT i changed my
[1:14:38] Speaker 3: mind mid. Conversation i'm gonna take just a solid player
[1:14:43] Speaker 3: In Greg russo who just finds a way every season
[1:14:48] Speaker 3: to you, know finish in like top twenty ish and
[1:14:53] Speaker 3: pressure rate last, year there's not a lot of quick
[1:14:55] Speaker 3: pressures like it is a slow time to. Pressure it
[1:14:58] Speaker 3: does mean something to me that he's kind of the
[1:15:00] Speaker 3: same player every. Year he finished last year, well five
[1:15:03] Speaker 3: straight games with at least four, pressures like he he
[1:15:06] Speaker 3: ends up getting in the same ballpark of players of very,
[1:15:10] Speaker 3: good maybe not. Great i'm Maybe i'm aiming too low
[1:15:14] Speaker 3: here With Greg, russo BUT i feel like he's earned that.
[1:15:17] Speaker 3: Respect like when they gave him that, CONTRACT i was, like,
[1:15:19] Speaker 3: Yeah i'm good with.
[1:15:20] Speaker 1: That that totally makes sense to.
[1:15:22] Speaker 3: Me he's exactly kind of what you want as a
[1:15:24] Speaker 3: second quote Unquote Ed.
[1:15:26] Speaker 1: Dresher but then when you look.
[1:15:27] Speaker 3: At the list here AND i feel like this is
[1:15:29] Speaker 3: where he deserves to be taken twenty. Eight like some
[1:15:32] Speaker 3: teams don't even have A Greg, russo so get them locked.
[1:15:34] Speaker 4: Up every team would love A Greg. Russo it's just
[1:15:37] Speaker 4: the value you placed in. IT i guess he was
[1:15:39] Speaker 4: the ONE i was referring to with the fan base
[1:15:41] Speaker 4: BECAUSE i feel Like i've been so critical of The
[1:15:43] Speaker 4: bills as an organization SINCE i joined this. Show The
[1:15:47] Speaker 4: bills fans are stunt to think That i'm not a
[1:15:49] Speaker 4: son of The bills WHEN i would love nothing more
[1:15:52] Speaker 4: in my career to cover them lifting the long. Body
[1:15:54] Speaker 4: that would be a dream of. MINE i won that for.
[1:15:56] Speaker 4: THEM i want that For Josh. ALLEN i don't think
[1:15:59] Speaker 4: this regime is GOING i get it. Done, russeau the
[1:16:03] Speaker 4: major thing with him is just is he anyway near
[1:16:05] Speaker 4: the caliber of just Past russia to be able to
[1:16:08] Speaker 4: be on the. List, HONESTLY i struggled with that BECAUSE
[1:16:11] Speaker 4: i think as a run defender he's absolutely. Outstanding it's
[1:16:14] Speaker 4: just the time to pressure you mentioned it's a little.
[1:16:16] Speaker 4: Slow it was three point four to three seconds time
[1:16:18] Speaker 4: to pressure last. Year that was ninety ninth of one
[1:16:21] Speaker 4: hundred and six eligble pass. Rushers that's just not a little.
[1:16:23] Speaker 4: Slow it's just it's Nowhere nick good, enough and you
[1:16:26] Speaker 4: stop racking up against even situational soap brushes Of bryce
[1:16:30] Speaker 4: hoof Al Kady. Mohammad he's just not bringing anywhere near
[1:16:34] Speaker 4: the kind of volume or impact you, needed the level
[1:16:36] Speaker 4: of speed that you.
[1:16:37] Speaker 3: NEED i thought it kind of earned his way on the,
[1:16:40] Speaker 3: List but there are a couple of players, that, yeah
[1:16:42] Speaker 3: get me a little more. TINGLING i don't Think bill's
[1:16:44] Speaker 3: fans will be mad about. That bill's, FANS i, believe
[1:16:48] Speaker 3: have crossed over from just being so over the moon
[1:16:54] Speaker 3: that they're back to being real deal. Contenders AND i
[1:16:58] Speaker 3: can't believe our luck From Josh allen to a little
[1:17:01] Speaker 3: salty and kind of annoy, it like weirdly over it
[1:17:04] Speaker 3: with this build of the like show us something, builds
[1:17:07] Speaker 3: especially on, defense And russo is part of, that even
[1:17:10] Speaker 3: though he's been one of their best, players one of
[1:17:12] Speaker 3: their best draft.
[1:17:12] Speaker 1: Picks all, right you're up with twenty.
[1:17:14] Speaker 4: Nine i'm gonna Take Jalen walker from The. Falcons this
[1:17:18] Speaker 4: is a little bit of a shoot for the. Moon
[1:17:19] Speaker 4: WHEN i saw him in, PERSON i can't remember you
[1:17:22] Speaker 4: went at that game right In. BERLIN i just thought
[1:17:26] Speaker 4: that the movement skills were when you talked earlier About
[1:17:29] Speaker 4: abdol cards like he just moves differently to other. People
[1:17:32] Speaker 4: he is one of the most special ATHLETES i think
[1:17:34] Speaker 4: at the position. Now will ever all come? TOGETHER i
[1:17:37] Speaker 4: think a lot of it will depend on the style
[1:17:40] Speaker 4: of system The falcons are gonna run this. SEASON i
[1:17:42] Speaker 4: know they Kept Jeff, ulbrick but will look more like
[1:17:44] Speaker 4: Ull break with The, jets where it's Very nina's. Base
[1:17:46] Speaker 4: will look more like last, year whereas all the chaos
[1:17:48] Speaker 4: and the. Blitzing even the numbers last year indicate a
[1:17:51] Speaker 4: play who was so scheme. Oriented it's all. Unblocked it's
[1:17:55] Speaker 4: not a lot of one on one, wins but the
[1:17:56] Speaker 4: talent is so supreme that he could just be a
[1:17:59] Speaker 4: guy who goes from twenty five thirty pressures and then
[1:18:03] Speaker 4: just launches into a sixty sixty five precious season with
[1:18:06] Speaker 4: this this special blend of athleticism and. Intellect and then
[1:18:09] Speaker 4: this is a run, defender he's already the one of the.
[1:18:11] Speaker 4: Best like N, mono the line of scrimmage, type head
[1:18:14] Speaker 4: up and hit it type plays in the way someone
[1:18:15] Speaker 4: Like Greg russeau, Is but you just get this kind
[1:18:18] Speaker 4: of pastor shipside because the natural.
[1:18:20] Speaker 3: JUICE i, think, yeah there are not many run defenders
[1:18:23] Speaker 3: that make me jump out of my seats for the
[1:18:26] Speaker 3: athleticism that they show in run, Defense like he's. NOT
[1:18:29] Speaker 3: i Mean, micah who weirdly like would get criticized for
[1:18:32] Speaker 3: his run, defense is like that to, me And Jalen
[1:18:35] Speaker 3: walker's a little like that to me. Too so he
[1:18:37] Speaker 3: And lawrence you hurt. Me there were the two GUYS
[1:18:40] Speaker 3: i put at the. BOTTOM i was just, LIKE i
[1:18:41] Speaker 3: want them to be on this. List so if you
[1:18:43] Speaker 3: had not taken, him he was gonna be one of
[1:18:45] Speaker 3: my final two.
[1:18:46] Speaker 1: Picks but you took him.
[1:18:47] Speaker 3: Away And i'm gonna Take Boye mafey who's always been
[1:18:50] Speaker 3: one of my, favorites AND i appreciated that The bengals
[1:18:53] Speaker 3: contractually backed me up, There like he passes the eye.
[1:18:58] Speaker 3: TEST i went back and looked BECAUSE i THINK i
[1:19:00] Speaker 3: Remember mike McDonald said something about him, going you, know
[1:19:03] Speaker 3: into the Super, bowl and he, did and it was just,
[1:19:06] Speaker 3: like look of all of our pass, rushers he wins
[1:19:08] Speaker 3: the quick, Quickest like that is incredibly valuable for our
[1:19:11] Speaker 3: total pass rush. Plan, now after he signed that, contract
[1:19:14] Speaker 3: there was some reporting out Of seattle's like we love
[1:19:16] Speaker 3: boy a but like not a love. It, yeah not
[1:19:20] Speaker 3: at that. Level so that makes me a little cautious about.
[1:19:24] Speaker 3: It like his sack production went down from like nine
[1:19:28] Speaker 3: to six to two last.
[1:19:30] Speaker 1: YEAR i mean that is pretty.
[1:19:31] Speaker 3: Low but if you like the pass rush win, rate
[1:19:34] Speaker 3: you know he's he's gone, eighth, twelfth, Seventeenth so actually
[1:19:37] Speaker 3: in reverse, order he was top ten last year and
[1:19:39] Speaker 3: he's always been a top twenty. Guy and that that's
[1:19:42] Speaker 3: WHAT i, See, like that's that's WHAT i see WHEN
[1:19:45] Speaker 3: i watch, him just the movement, skills the ability to win,
[1:19:48] Speaker 3: Quickly like who wouldn't want a guy like?
[1:19:50] Speaker 1: That he to me is like that's AN nfl pass.
[1:19:54] Speaker 3: Rusher he's a certain type OF nfl pass, rusher but
[1:19:56] Speaker 3: he is AN nfl pass.
[1:19:57] Speaker 1: Rusher he Is he's one of those one note.
[1:19:59] Speaker 4: Guys it's all about the get, off which is WHY
[1:20:01] Speaker 4: i think The seahawks halted it, There, like, yeah you
[1:20:03] Speaker 4: need some initial burst off the balls somewhere across the
[1:20:06] Speaker 4: line of, scrimmage and he certainly brings. THAT i just
[1:20:08] Speaker 4: don't think he's that well rounded of a. PLAY i
[1:20:10] Speaker 4: really think it's if he doesn't beat you out of the,
[1:20:12] Speaker 4: cleats out of the, stance then it's it's a little
[1:20:15] Speaker 4: bit of a rap more than it should be for
[1:20:16] Speaker 4: someone off is like he's so physically, imposing you would
[1:20:19] Speaker 4: think there would be this real second surge and kind
[1:20:21] Speaker 4: of dig through and grind through the Rep most of
[1:20:23] Speaker 4: the wins are just straight clean wins or.
[1:20:25] Speaker 1: It's kind of a.
[1:20:26] Speaker 3: Rap, okay this is it for. You thirty one AND
[1:20:31] Speaker 3: i still have the. TEAMS i wonder if they who
[1:20:34] Speaker 3: have not got and, yeah one of THEM i alluded
[1:20:37] Speaker 3: to briefly your last, pick and we can mention the
[1:20:42] Speaker 3: after we're done who didn't get, drafted just as a
[1:20:44] Speaker 3: little honorable.
[1:20:45] Speaker 4: MENTION i have so many players to pick, from AND
[1:20:49] Speaker 4: i don't want to be disrespectful to about six, players
[1:20:51] Speaker 4: BUT i only have one pick.
[1:20:52] Speaker 1: Left then there's a shoot for the moon. Pick it's a.
[1:20:56] Speaker 1: Projection i'm gonna Take Reuben. Bain let's get.
[1:21:00] Speaker 4: Now this breaks my heart to not Have Khalil mack
[1:21:03] Speaker 4: on this, list And i'm gonna it's gonna eat me
[1:21:06] Speaker 4: alive for the next. Week SO i know that listeners
[1:21:08] Speaker 4: and when the graphic goes, up don't kill. Me but
[1:21:10] Speaker 4: we're we're projecting slightly. HERE i thought he was the
[1:21:13] Speaker 4: best passage from the. DRAFT i think he's walking into
[1:21:15] Speaker 4: the best possible. SITUATION i THINK i mentioned before about
[1:21:19] Speaker 4: what it looked like With Hassam reddick And darby as
[1:21:22] Speaker 4: a kind of a two man, tandem the skill set
[1:21:24] Speaker 4: to lining so. Well Ruben bad is just a better
[1:21:26] Speaker 4: version of, THAT i think Than Hassan redick at this
[1:21:28] Speaker 4: phase of his. Career SO i think he's gonna walk
[1:21:30] Speaker 4: in and be an absolutely down and down out, menace
[1:21:34] Speaker 4: and we're gonna look back at the end of the,
[1:21:36] Speaker 4: season go why did we not just think he would
[1:21:37] Speaker 4: be in the top twenty pastors in the league when
[1:21:39] Speaker 4: he walked in as the best pastors from the draft.
[1:21:42] Speaker 3: Just because it's such a such a grown man position
[1:21:46] Speaker 3: and you can step in and have an impact right.
[1:21:49] Speaker 3: Away but we've also seen a lot of the best
[1:21:53] Speaker 3: edge rushers kind of get halfway there their rookie, year
[1:21:57] Speaker 3: like the second half of the, season they start.
[1:21:59] Speaker 1: Coming you can see The Abdol.
[1:22:00] Speaker 3: Carter is a good example of it last, year and
[1:22:02] Speaker 3: so you know when you're comparing him just for this
[1:22:06] Speaker 3: year against some of the grown men that are on the, board.
[1:22:11] Speaker 1: Like Khalil, mack, YEAH i like. IT i like your
[1:22:14] Speaker 1: your plant and your.
[1:22:15] Speaker 3: FLAG i feel Bad mac actually was literally like the
[1:22:18] Speaker 3: last one off of my list. Too SHOULD i just
[1:22:21] Speaker 3: take him? Then BECAUSE i do Have montes sweat higher
[1:22:25] Speaker 3: some other players we could mention A dafeowa has not gotten.
[1:22:28] Speaker 3: Taken it's probably mold disrespectful to Put Khalil mack Behind
[1:22:33] Speaker 3: Reuben bain than it is to just Draft. No, ultimately
[1:22:37] Speaker 3: the fact that he Played mac under five hundred snaps
[1:22:41] Speaker 3: last year and then in each of the last two,
[1:22:43] Speaker 3: SEASONS i thought he's played at a really high, level
[1:22:46] Speaker 3: but he didn't maintain it the whole, time and so
[1:22:49] Speaker 3: that that to, me his age a little bit in
[1:22:52] Speaker 3: a way that the impacts WHERE i would take. Him
[1:22:56] Speaker 3: i've always been A Montes sweat, guy and this is
[1:22:58] Speaker 3: not like he's not coming off of his best. Season
[1:23:00] Speaker 3: his time to pressure is among the. Slowest he had
[1:23:04] Speaker 3: to play a lot more in, general he had a
[1:23:06] Speaker 3: lot more run. Stops because of, that he did play
[1:23:08] Speaker 3: pretty well at the end of the. Season he was
[1:23:10] Speaker 3: active in those playoff games for The. BEARS i think
[1:23:13] Speaker 3: he's earned his spot. Here i've never really been in
[1:23:16] Speaker 3: a DAFEO aa. Guy Van GINKEL i mentioned right at
[1:23:18] Speaker 3: the top is certainly an option. Here but here's the
[1:23:22] Speaker 3: thing With, Sweat LIKE i think he could get. Better,
[1:23:26] Speaker 3: still he's not past the point where he can pop up.
[1:23:28] Speaker 3: Again because if you told me he's how he was
[1:23:30] Speaker 3: two three years, ago he would be somewhere comfortably in
[1:23:34] Speaker 3: that like eighteen to twenty five. Range and he's still
[1:23:37] Speaker 3: a very good. Player why SHOULD i be apologizing for
[1:23:41] Speaker 3: Taking Montes sweat thirty.
[1:23:43] Speaker 4: TWO i think on this way is a good. PLAYER
[1:23:45] Speaker 4: i think even very good is overselling it. SLIGHTLY i
[1:23:48] Speaker 4: think he's a slow pass usher who relies on craft
[1:23:51] Speaker 4: and it isn't all that. Crafty it's about three moves
[1:23:54] Speaker 4: and the great ones lock him down because you can
[1:23:57] Speaker 4: be pretty dialed into what the plan.
[1:23:59] Speaker 1: Is strong, though like pretty good run, defender complete. PLAYER
[1:24:05] Speaker 1: i don't know.
[1:24:06] Speaker 4: COMPLEASE i think he can meet goal after in the run.
[1:24:10] Speaker 4: GAME i think he's really good on the end heavy.
[1:24:13] Speaker 4: END i want both people with all the, details but
[1:24:15] Speaker 4: you just line him up and, say, well doubling at.
[1:24:17] Speaker 1: YOU i think he can be worked pretty.
[1:24:19] Speaker 3: Comfortably, Okay so who are the people that should have
[1:24:23] Speaker 3: made it or that that hurt not to leave? It
[1:24:26] Speaker 3: dafay always stands out as a good free agent pick
[1:24:29] Speaker 3: up tenth and pass rush win. RATE i think if
[1:24:31] Speaker 3: push game to, SHOVE i would probably take him Over.
[1:24:33] Speaker 3: SWEAT i don't know WHY i just did, That Finn,
[1:24:36] Speaker 3: GINKLE i mentioned any other shouts you want to.
[1:24:39] Speaker 4: Give Jonathan, Cooper, yeah devastated we didn't Get Jonathan cooper
[1:24:43] Speaker 4: from The broncos in The Derek cole from The. Seahawks
[1:24:47] Speaker 4: it feels we only have one member of The seahawks.
[1:24:49] Speaker 4: In then it'd be Just DeMarcus. Lawrence you Picked Trayvon,
[1:24:53] Speaker 4: Walker George cole, loftus we didn't have him THE i
[1:24:55] Speaker 4: think he might.
[1:24:56] Speaker 1: Now he was close to. Me The jets didn't have.
[1:24:58] Speaker 3: ANYONE i, mean we could have Taken David, Bailey will,
[1:25:01] Speaker 3: McDonald Jermaine johnson are all good. Players if we were
[1:25:04] Speaker 3: doing the top forty, FIVE i think they're all on that,
[1:25:07] Speaker 3: list and so they they were one team that didn't have.
[1:25:11] Speaker 3: One you, Know i've got my eye on As iraku
[1:25:13] Speaker 3: for this. Year he didn't get close to me to
[1:25:16] Speaker 3: quite making the, list BUT i do, think you, know
[1:25:18] Speaker 3: it wouldn't shock.
[1:25:19] Speaker 1: ME i like As.
[1:25:19] Speaker 4: ARAKU i had as A roku full oftieth on my
[1:25:21] Speaker 4: bullet in case just like wiped, Out SO I reali
[1:25:24] Speaker 4: Like Asaku Novershan. GARY i think that that's that's unusual.
[1:25:28] Speaker 4: Fit if we done the last comple of, years he was.
