[0:05] Speaker 1: Welcome to NFL Daily, where it's our favorite day of
[0:07] Speaker 1: the week, Patrick Claybone Day.
[0:10] Speaker 2: Thanks Greg.
[0:10] Speaker 3: I'm Greg Rosenthal.
[0:11] Speaker 1: I'm in the Chris Wesleyan podcast studio next to a
[0:15] Speaker 1: well dressed man because he is hosting The Insiders on
[0:20] Speaker 1: NFL Network later today.
[0:23] Speaker 3: But this isn't the warm up back. This is your
[0:25] Speaker 3: main show.
[0:25] Speaker 2: Now, this is it.
[0:26] Speaker 4: This is what I got up for. This is this
[0:28] Speaker 4: is why the lights came on up here barely. You know,
[0:31] Speaker 4: it's a little dim in between tweet these ears. But
[0:34] Speaker 4: that's why that's.
[0:35] Speaker 1: Why everyone check out Patrick Good show Insiders.
[0:39] Speaker 3: He's got all all the insiders.
[0:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, the show is the show's the inside.
[0:43] Speaker 3: It's the Ian Rappaport, Judy.
[0:45] Speaker 1: But yeah, you can catch you boy, Patrick every day
[0:49] Speaker 1: these days on the on the Insiders.
[0:50] Speaker 4: It's the other property that I'm featured on that's named
[0:53] Speaker 4: after the people who that actually matter.
[0:55] Speaker 1: Stop stuff. It's a Newsy day. We are gonna recap
[1:00] Speaker 1: what's been going on. Look at a couple weeks. We're
[1:02] Speaker 1: gonna be missing these days where teams are still practicing.
[1:05] Speaker 1: It's just gonna be dead. I'm gonna go on vacation.
[1:07] Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to Japan. We got about seventeen teams practicing.
[1:11] Speaker 1: For most of them it's their last practices of the
[1:15] Speaker 1: entire offseason. And so we're gonna fire through a bunch
[1:17] Speaker 1: of news and when we're gonna wrap up the show
[1:20] Speaker 1: with a brief segment just some players. We're buying stocking,
[1:23] Speaker 1: just some players that we've been eyeing that we are
[1:26] Speaker 1: buying proverbial stock, not literal stock. I don't know what
[1:30] Speaker 1: your thoughts are on the actual stock market.
[1:33] Speaker 4: Yeah, I think there's a lot of people rightfully concerned
[1:36] Speaker 4: with prediction markets, and I would like to point to
[1:39] Speaker 4: the prediction market that somehow dictates who gets to.
[1:42] Speaker 2: Eat and live in Oh. So yeah, those are my thoughts.
[1:46] Speaker 1: Yeah, people are big mad because the prediction market's got
[1:49] Speaker 1: Spencer Prattrong here in La.
[1:52] Speaker 3: Well you should have known what was coming west.
[1:54] Speaker 2: People are mad about everything.
[1:55] Speaker 1: But let's talk about Aaron Donald, one of my favorite
[1:59] Speaker 1: players to watch over my time here at NFL Network,
[2:03] Speaker 1: and we may get to do it even more. I
[2:06] Speaker 1: know Adam Schefter was only on the Pat McAfee show
[2:10] Speaker 1: kind of spinning a yarn, not exactly capital are reporting something.
[2:15] Speaker 1: But when he gets on the ESPN Airwaves one of
[2:18] Speaker 1: your colleagues now at ESPN Patrick, and he concludes his
[2:24] Speaker 1: summary of what's going on with Aaron Donald by saying,
[2:27] Speaker 1: he believes it's more than likely that Aaron Donald comes back.
[2:31] Speaker 3: My ears perk up. Now.
[2:33] Speaker 1: His reasoning for that was essentially, no one's saying no,
[2:36] Speaker 1: which I've been noticing too, And I wasn't bold enough
[2:39] Speaker 1: to say to connect the dots like he does. I'm
[2:42] Speaker 1: sure he knows even more. And he says, Look, I
[2:44] Speaker 1: don't have anyone who's telling me that this is going
[2:46] Speaker 1: to happen. But if they're not saying at this point
[2:49] Speaker 1: that he's not coming back, I think when they present
[2:52] Speaker 1: a particular plan to him, if it's a plan that
[2:56] Speaker 1: he would be amenable to. Now, I assume that includes
[2:59] Speaker 1: the finances of the plan perhaps when he comes back,
[3:02] Speaker 1: and how much he needs to do to get ready
[3:03] Speaker 1: to get back.
[3:04] Speaker 3: That's all factors.
[3:05] Speaker 1: He believes from what he knows that Aaron Donald will
[3:10] Speaker 1: ultimately be putting on that uniform again, which is pretty crazy.
[3:14] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's exciting. He's one of the best players in
[3:16] Speaker 4: the history of the National Football League. He ultimately did
[3:19] Speaker 4: decide to stop playing football and So that is Aaron
[3:22] Speaker 4: Donald to me saying I don't want to play football anymore.
[3:26] Speaker 4: And you know, you mentioned the fact that we are
[3:28] Speaker 4: underneath the same employment umbrella.
[3:30] Speaker 2: I appreciate the work and everybody provides.
[3:32] Speaker 4: But unless Aaron Donald is saying I would like to
[3:36] Speaker 4: come back and play football, I'm going to take my
[3:38] Speaker 4: basis in the reality of this based on his previous statement,
[3:42] Speaker 4: which has been true for multiple years now that he's
[3:44] Speaker 4: no longer playing for me.
[3:45] Speaker 3: I hear that.
[3:46] Speaker 1: But when people have been asking, he said, yeah, I
[3:48] Speaker 1: think he's essentially been saying nothing about it.
[3:50] Speaker 3: And when I went up, there's.
[3:51] Speaker 2: Fun for people to flirt with you, like you're at
[3:54] Speaker 2: the gym.
[3:54] Speaker 4: Yah, maybe your ring's not on because you want to
[3:56] Speaker 4: be practicing safe work and somebody comes up and flirts
[3:59] Speaker 4: with you or you know that.
[4:01] Speaker 1: Only had this is such a Patrick question? Is this
[4:04] Speaker 1: has never happened to me? This is never obviously happening
[4:08] Speaker 1: to you all the time.
[4:09] Speaker 2: Well, you know, do you wear your ring when you're
[4:11] Speaker 2: playing tennis?
[4:12] Speaker 3: I wear my ring. I never take it off exactly.
[4:14] Speaker 4: And so it's been perhaps it's been a long time
[4:17] Speaker 4: since a person has been like, oh, that person is single.
[4:19] Speaker 2: I'm very attracted and it's fun.
[4:22] Speaker 4: Right if somebody were gonna come up and be like
[4:23] Speaker 4: Greg Rosenthal so attractive, and you're gonna be like no,
[4:27] Speaker 4: maybe Aaron Donald doesn't feel like he needs to say
[4:29] Speaker 4: no right now.
[4:31] Speaker 3: I hear you.
[4:31] Speaker 1: I had an old boss at NBC who, for the
[4:34] Speaker 1: first five or six years after I left NBC for NFL,
[4:37] Speaker 1: would always kind of be offering me my job back
[4:40] Speaker 1: or offering you flirting that fell.
[4:42] Speaker 3: But after a while.
[4:43] Speaker 1: Then he just kind of went. It just went away.
[4:45] Speaker 1: You know, you say no too many times? No one,
[4:47] Speaker 1: No one's coming up to me in the gym. I
[4:49] Speaker 1: think either way, whether I got the whether I got
[4:51] Speaker 1: this on or not. I'm five six rounding up stop,
[4:56] Speaker 1: height does not matter, I hope not. I don't think
[4:58] Speaker 1: you gotta yeah, you just gotta. You gotta be confident.
[5:01] Speaker 1: You got to create that connection.
[5:04] Speaker 2: Sorry for being silly.
[5:06] Speaker 1: I know I appreciate it. Let's talk about something that's
[5:10] Speaker 1: not silly. Hard curve here rams tackle. Since while we're
[5:14] Speaker 1: talking Rams, Alaric Jackson was arrested for a felony domestic
[5:19] Speaker 1: violence charge extremely serious. It is worth noting that Alerc
[5:26] Speaker 1: Jackson has previously faced a suspension from the league for
[5:32] Speaker 1: an incident back in two thousand and three. That incident,
[5:37] Speaker 1: he was accused of taping a sexual act without consent,
[5:43] Speaker 1: and that was why he was suspended. So I do
[5:46] Speaker 1: think that is context for what happened in this case.
[5:51] Speaker 1: The specific charges are suspicion of domestic battery. According to
[5:55] Speaker 1: the LA PD. He's a twenty seven year old, six
[5:58] Speaker 1: year veteran who signed a pretty big contract about a
[6:01] Speaker 1: year ago with the Rams. He's their left tackle, obviously
[6:04] Speaker 1: an important person in their organization, and we'll be tracking
[6:07] Speaker 1: that story. But I think it's fair to wonder what
[6:10] Speaker 1: his future is going to be. Another player who unfortunately
[6:14] Speaker 1: has had had some issues, I would say with law
[6:17] Speaker 1: enforcement over the years of Lagarius Snead last on the Titans,
[6:21] Speaker 1: He's now going to be rejoining the member of the
[6:23] Speaker 1: Kansas City Chiefs, the same team that traded him away
[6:28] Speaker 1: for a second round pick and then he got a
[6:31] Speaker 1: big contract from Tennessee. Did not work out, wasn't healthy,
[6:34] Speaker 1: there wasn't good on the field there. Now he returns
[6:37] Speaker 1: to Kansas City, where he played his best ball under
[6:41] Speaker 1: Steve Spagnola.
[6:42] Speaker 4: The master plan comes into play where you've got the
[6:46] Speaker 4: half of their secondary starting for the La Rams. They
[6:49] Speaker 4: get compensation for that. You wonder what they're going to
[6:51] Speaker 4: do at the cornerback position. They get Mansell Delaine early on.
[6:55] Speaker 4: And the answer to the other side question is a
[6:57] Speaker 4: player that Spags knows and has executed well in the
[7:01] Speaker 4: system before.
[7:02] Speaker 2: It's look at the Chiefs. They're right back to doing
[7:05] Speaker 2: what the Chiefs do.
[7:06] Speaker 1: It's very not to bring everything back to the Patriots,
[7:09] Speaker 1: but I just feel like this would be something that
[7:11] Speaker 1: happened a lot during their dynastic run, and I do
[7:14] Speaker 1: consider the Chiefs still in the middle of a dynastic
[7:16] Speaker 1: run until proven otherwise for multiple straight years. I expect
[7:20] Speaker 1: them to be hosting a playoff game of some sort
[7:22] Speaker 1: this year more than likely. Yeah, they would like have
[7:26] Speaker 1: guys get paid else where it didn't work out for
[7:28] Speaker 1: whatever reason, and then they'd welcome back into the fold
[7:30] Speaker 1: and you get Jamie Collins two point zero or you know,
[7:32] Speaker 1: Beannoy two point oh, and it worked great the second
[7:34] Speaker 1: time round.
[7:35] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[7:35] Speaker 4: The parallels, of course, having one of the five best quarterbacks.
[7:38] Speaker 1: In the right and having I think the parallels here
[7:42] Speaker 1: would be between Spegnolo and Bill Belichick who maximized I
[7:47] Speaker 1: think players into what they do best and focus on that.
[7:51] Speaker 1: So now you look at their cornerback situation, which I
[7:52] Speaker 1: thought was was quite thin. Noah Williams, Lugarious need you
[7:56] Speaker 1: mentioned some of these names, mansword Delane, but also a
[7:58] Speaker 1: fourth round pick, A lot of people like Jaden Kennedy
[8:00] Speaker 1: and Cater kohu Is at nickelback who I kind of like,
[8:03] Speaker 1: Christian Fulton is now kind of a reserve despite making
[8:06] Speaker 1: a lot of money and has had some good snaps
[8:09] Speaker 1: and suddenly like, I bet that's going to be a
[8:12] Speaker 1: more than good enough secondary. Let's talk about a player
[8:14] Speaker 1: that is stepping away like Aaron Donald did while he
[8:18] Speaker 1: can still play. Joel Potonio has had some injuries in
[8:21] Speaker 1: recent years, and he announced to what a lot of
[8:24] Speaker 1: Browns fans thought what was coming. He is retiring from
[8:29] Speaker 1: the game. One of the best guards of his generation.
[8:33] Speaker 1: Joel Botonio twelve years in the NFL. Pretty cool that
[8:38] Speaker 1: he did it all with the Browns. He made a
[8:41] Speaker 1: couple All Pro teams over the years, seven Pro Bowls,
[8:45] Speaker 1: but two first team All pros. I mean that is
[8:48] Speaker 1: real deal stuff, and I believe a second team or two.
[8:51] Speaker 1: So he's gonna have a Hall of Fame case at
[8:53] Speaker 1: some point when when we're talking about possible guards making
[8:56] Speaker 1: it to can.
[8:57] Speaker 4: And he had a streak of one hundred and two
[8:59] Speaker 4: consecutive starts, which maybe ultimately wasn't that great for him
[9:03] Speaker 4: in the long run, and he tried to have arthroscopic
[9:06] Speaker 4: and surgery and then a bye week and then come
[9:07] Speaker 4: back and play.
[9:08] Speaker 2: It ultimately didn't work out.
[9:09] Speaker 4: But if we're talking about people that maybe less need
[9:11] Speaker 4: will be on the phone with never retired, I'm looking
[9:15] Speaker 4: at this one.
[9:16] Speaker 3: That's a totally fair guess. Potonio.
[9:19] Speaker 1: Though, the way his statement was to the Browns fans,
[9:23] Speaker 1: I think it really meant a lot to him. He
[9:25] Speaker 1: of course had a model in Joe Thomas of what
[9:28] Speaker 1: kind of career he had, and he said, when he
[9:31] Speaker 1: entered the league, you know, Thomas is on that ten
[9:34] Speaker 1: thousand snapstreak, and I forget who the other offensive lineman was.
[9:40] Speaker 1: There was on like a six that, you know, a
[9:42] Speaker 1: five to six thousand snap streak. And he said the
[9:44] Speaker 1: expectation was he literally was not going to miss a snap,
[9:47] Speaker 1: and then he went out and did it. He went
[9:49] Speaker 1: over six thousand something straight snap so incredible culture that
[9:53] Speaker 1: Joe Thomas was part of. And those offensive lines with Potonio.
[9:57] Speaker 1: The Browns teams weren't great always, although they popped up
[9:59] Speaker 1: and ad some fun offenses. Yeah, among the best offensive
[10:03] Speaker 1: lines in the NFL over the last ten years. So
[10:06] Speaker 1: happy trails to Joel Buttonio. A guy who just keeps
[10:10] Speaker 1: playing year after year and playing at a high level
[10:14] Speaker 1: is Kaleis Campbell. Let's listen to him talk about his
[10:20] Speaker 1: return to Baltimore and what could be ahead.
[10:22] Speaker 5: I always tell myself, you know, and this year, I
[10:25] Speaker 5: feel like, you know, as strongly as ever you know
[10:28] Speaker 5: that this is probably gonna be my last year. I
[10:30] Speaker 5: know I said that last year in the year before,
[10:32] Speaker 5: but I mean, I genuinely mean at the time. But
[10:34] Speaker 5: I always tell myself to play well enough to be
[10:37] Speaker 5: able to get a job again if I want to.
[10:39] Speaker 5: So if I perform out, go out there and perform
[10:40] Speaker 5: to the level I want to play, then I'm probably
[10:42] Speaker 5: gonna have to turn somebody down next year.
[10:43] Speaker 2: And that's the ideal scenario.
[10:44] Speaker 5: If I can have a chance to play well enough
[10:47] Speaker 5: for their one megion next year, and I gotta tell them no,
[10:49] Speaker 5: and then at that time we'll decide if there's you know,
[10:51] Speaker 5: if I want to play again or not. But as
[10:52] Speaker 5: of right now, I'm playing the years if it's my
[10:54] Speaker 5: last year.
[10:55] Speaker 3: Life lessons there.
[10:56] Speaker 4: Yeah, if the number works for you and you feel
[10:59] Speaker 4: ok enough, go ahead and say keep saying.
[11:02] Speaker 1: Yes and that it's fun, right I Football compared to
[11:06] Speaker 1: some other I think just because it's so physical, at
[11:08] Speaker 1: least for some players. Obviously they love the sport and
[11:12] Speaker 1: that you have to love the physicality on some level
[11:14] Speaker 1: to get into. But I think some of them are
[11:15] Speaker 1: just tired of it after a while. Kalaius Campbell taking
[11:18] Speaker 1: a lot of pounding. Granted he's delivering a lot of
[11:20] Speaker 1: the pounding, but he seems to just welcome it.
[11:24] Speaker 3: Maybe maybe when you're six.
[11:25] Speaker 1: Foot seven and three hundred and twenty five pounds, is
[11:27] Speaker 1: that's somehow easier.
[11:28] Speaker 3: But usually it isn't easier.
[11:29] Speaker 4: Yeah, But he also is a great person who facilitates
[11:31] Speaker 4: great relationships, probably players and coaches, and so he's never
[11:35] Speaker 4: been in a situation where it's like, you know what
[11:38] Speaker 4: I'd like to not be. He's picking the people he
[11:40] Speaker 4: gets to be around every single year at this point,
[11:43] Speaker 4: so he gets to keep doing that.
[11:45] Speaker 1: So do you take the wedding ring off, like before
[11:48] Speaker 1: you leave for the gym, or you put it in
[11:50] Speaker 1: the locker or what's going on for it's all me
[11:53] Speaker 1: and Laren knows this what that you're doing this thing?
[11:56] Speaker 4: Yeah, because I showed her video of like what happens
[11:59] Speaker 4: sometimes like car slippage and people. I forget the name
[12:03] Speaker 4: of what happens, but go ahead and like google it
[12:07] Speaker 4: because the name is visceral enough and no thanks, I
[12:10] Speaker 4: want to keep this digit. I want to go in
[12:12] Speaker 4: the dirt with ten of these things.
[12:13] Speaker 3: Okay, but you notice the interest level picks up.
[12:17] Speaker 4: A little bit, No, because it's a bright it's a
[12:20] Speaker 4: bright tan, Like it's very obvious that that there's a
[12:23] Speaker 4: ring that lives here.
[12:24] Speaker 1: I I didn't start going to the gym in my
[12:27] Speaker 1: entire life and never literally had never lifted a weight,
[12:29] Speaker 1: which is shocking when.
[12:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, because considering like the physicality was so.
[12:33] Speaker 1: Huge until about three years ago. So I'm I'm just trying.
[12:37] Speaker 1: I'm just trying to catch up here, You're not behind.
[12:40] Speaker 1: John Robinson is in contract talks with the Atlanta Falcons.
[12:44] Speaker 1: Per Dan Graziano of ESPN, they asked him about whether
[12:48] Speaker 1: he's going to be the next guy to sign, and
[12:51] Speaker 1: he said, with a big smile, we'll see. It was
[12:53] Speaker 1: one of those responses and I think he wouldn't have
[12:56] Speaker 1: maybe mentioned it publicly if they weren't on the right path.
[12:59] Speaker 3: I'm curious.
[13:00] Speaker 1: I assume it'll be the highest paid running back in
[13:02] Speaker 1: the history of the game. It is interesting to think
[13:04] Speaker 1: about how much money Drake London just got, like one
[13:07] Speaker 1: hundred million dollars guaranteed. And I know the positions are different,
[13:10] Speaker 1: but I do think if there is a player that
[13:14] Speaker 1: is going to change the pay scale for an entire position,
[13:17] Speaker 1: that player could be Bejon Robinson.
[13:19] Speaker 4: Yeah, and he may be behooved depending on what their
[13:22] Speaker 4: offer is. To wait and see what Jamiir gets, if
[13:25] Speaker 4: the Lions are willing, if Brad Holmes and Jamiir Gibbs
[13:27] Speaker 4: in his camp are willing to do that beforehand, but
[13:30] Speaker 4: if the offer is good, and I think it should
[13:32] Speaker 4: be like in terms of a player's a position, player's
[13:35] Speaker 4: importance to a particular offense, Robinson.
[13:38] Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing his team, like both gms that
[13:41] Speaker 1: he's had. I was like, oh, yeah, that's the best
[13:42] Speaker 1: player in football, and just in terms of quote unquote
[13:47] Speaker 1: value as great as Drake London is, and Drake London
[13:50] Speaker 1: is fairly compensated as essentially a top five receiver in
[13:53] Speaker 1: the NFL top five to ten, John Robinson's more valuable.
[13:57] Speaker 1: So how are you going to tell me that you're
[13:58] Speaker 1: going to pay Robinson like two thirds of Drake London?
[14:02] Speaker 3: Doesn't make much sense to me.
[14:03] Speaker 1: And that's why I do think he's gonna break the
[14:06] Speaker 1: scale a little bit in terms of what running backs
[14:08] Speaker 1: have made before, and that'll be a great thing.
[14:10] Speaker 4: Ten point four yards of catch last season outragious at
[14:13] Speaker 4: running back.
[14:13] Speaker 2: Come on.
[14:15] Speaker 1: So my version, I guess of getting noticed, you know,
[14:17] Speaker 1: at the gym by the ladies, we just never happened.
[14:23] Speaker 1: I have noticed. I was talking about this with Eric,
[14:25] Speaker 1: and I'm wondering if you have a theory for whatever reason.
[14:30] Speaker 1: And Shook has has experiences too going to these Cavs
[14:33] Speaker 1: games in the playoffs. We're getting noticed more in public
[14:37] Speaker 1: lately for NFL Daily at least I am, and Shook
[14:40] Speaker 1: was getting it a lot too going to these games.
[14:42] Speaker 1: He says, it keeps happening, and in general, in my
[14:44] Speaker 1: time as a podcaster, it's a pretty rare occurrence unless
[14:49] Speaker 1: you're overseas. That that that's a little different for whatever reason,
[14:53] Speaker 1: the London crew is different. But if you're just like
[14:55] Speaker 1: walking around with your kids in Los Angeles getting recognized
[14:59] Speaker 1: for or your podcasting NFL podcasting, I would have said
[15:03] Speaker 1: that was like a twice a year thing. Maybe lately,
[15:08] Speaker 1: last six months or so, it's like a twice a
[15:11] Speaker 1: month thing, maybe more.
[15:13] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[15:14] Speaker 1: That's about that, what's changed, what's happening.
[15:17] Speaker 4: I would say all personal data is anecdotal, and so
[15:22] Speaker 4: probably a lot of things.
[15:23] Speaker 1: If we're gonna say, I think it's more meaningful, no
[15:26] Speaker 1: good sample size.
[15:27] Speaker 4: I think right, the connections that you build with people
[15:30] Speaker 4: through this podcast have facilitated a place where they are
[15:35] Speaker 4: more likely to say, oh, hey, Greg, it's good to
[15:38] Speaker 4: see you with your kids, whereas some people if they
[15:41] Speaker 4: saw you probably get recognized all the time. Especially Shook
[15:44] Speaker 4: is one of the most imposing people on that.
[15:46] Speaker 3: He is very recognizable and it look like a lot
[15:48] Speaker 3: of people.
[15:49] Speaker 4: And so like, how comfortable is somebody saying, oh, hey, Greg, okay,
[15:54] Speaker 4: like thanks for doing the podcast or whatever. People say
[15:58] Speaker 4: because you're you're an approachable guy and they feel comfortable there.
[16:02] Speaker 3: It's a testament to I know, I appreciate it and
[16:05] Speaker 3: I like it.
[16:05] Speaker 1: Shout out to the Seahawks fan I just saw last
[16:08] Speaker 1: week who came up and it was on the Miles
[16:10] Speaker 1: Garrett Day trade and came up said he was having
[16:12] Speaker 1: a tough day because that Miles Garrett traded. He impressed
[16:15] Speaker 1: my daughter by saying hi, because she was with me.
[16:17] Speaker 1: We were on the way to the grocery store. And
[16:19] Speaker 1: but not I I don't think it's that. My theory
[16:22] Speaker 1: is actually the NFL channel, So let me know. I mean,
[16:24] Speaker 1: and if you see me, say say hi. But I
[16:26] Speaker 1: don't know it's this NFL channel, the Fast Network. Yeah,
[16:29] Speaker 1: the show does have my name and they have these
[16:31] Speaker 1: little uh these little things on the bottom the graphics
[16:34] Speaker 1: and stuff pop up. I'm thinking that's it more because
[16:36] Speaker 1: the most I've ever been recognized in my life was
[16:40] Speaker 1: when I was one half of a lot of Tiktoks
[16:44] Speaker 1: and Anthony Justin next TikTok when we were doing that
[16:47] Speaker 1: podcast together. I would get recognized for that and people
[16:49] Speaker 1: would just be like Hi, I recond like they would
[16:50] Speaker 1: recognize it.
[16:51] Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, I'm the other guy.
[16:53] Speaker 1: I'm on the other half of the Anthony Justin like
[16:55] Speaker 1: tiktoks that you're watching and that was it, but that
[16:58] Speaker 1: those have gone away.
[16:59] Speaker 3: I think it's this. I don't know.
[17:01] Speaker 4: I don't know, and it matters. I missed the NFL channel.
[17:04] Speaker 4: I missed the NFL channel.
[17:06] Speaker 3: We'll be back on it. Oh you're not going to
[17:07] Speaker 3: be on it.
[17:08] Speaker 4: I don't know.
[17:09] Speaker 3: We can get all these things channelshy live.
[17:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, we're definitely gonna have, you know, for people that
[17:14] Speaker 1: are into the NFL channel, NFL Daily. Back on the
[17:16] Speaker 1: NFL channel regularly once we get closer to the season.
[17:20] Speaker 1: Let's fly through these news. I'm just wasting time on
[17:21] Speaker 1: a day. You got to get to work.
[17:23] Speaker 2: Now, we're good. Love it.
[17:24] Speaker 1: Josh Sweat showed up for Mini camp. He had been
[17:27] Speaker 1: missing work that wasn't mandatory earlier. Now he's there now
[17:30] Speaker 1: it's mandatory. Same with Jacobe Presett mentioned that earlier. Some
[17:33] Speaker 1: injuries this week. Abdull Carter, the great pass rusher for
[17:36] Speaker 1: the Giants, suffered an ankle injury. They don't believe it
[17:38] Speaker 1: to be serious. Gabe Yakis, the second round pick is
[17:42] Speaker 1: going to be really important, I think for the Patriots
[17:43] Speaker 1: pass rush had a procedure out of Mini camp not
[17:46] Speaker 1: being seen Mason Graham is in a walking boot the
[17:49] Speaker 1: Browns defensive tackle.
[17:50] Speaker 3: That's not great.
[17:51] Speaker 1: Kyler Gordon, who you know, it's a it's an Ota
[17:54] Speaker 1: Mini camp injury, but because it's Kyler Gordon, who's just
[17:57] Speaker 1: always been hurt, not been seen because he's been heard
[17:59] Speaker 1: of Mini camp. So just some injuries that I found notable.
[18:02] Speaker 1: There's obviously more at Mini caamp. Tech McMillan, for instance,
[18:05] Speaker 1: has not been doing team drills, but he's out there.
[18:06] Speaker 1: It doesn't seem that big with you. Let's just get
[18:08] Speaker 1: into some of the just mini camp, like, say, what's happening?
[18:12] Speaker 1: This is this feels like a mini camp story.
[18:14] Speaker 2: Okay.
[18:15] Speaker 1: But Nick Underhill, who covers that Saints team about as
[18:20] Speaker 1: well as any Beat writer out there, has said that
[18:23] Speaker 1: Jalen Polk has looked incredible, and he said it wouldn't
[18:28] Speaker 1: be out of bounds to for someone to kind of
[18:31] Speaker 1: make the take of like Jalen Polk at this rate,
[18:35] Speaker 1: could be their wide receiver three like past Devon Vley
[18:38] Speaker 1: end up having a pretty significant role. Could we get
[18:42] Speaker 1: the Polka Sons a second high second round pick from
[18:45] Speaker 1: the Patriots who washed out there? And I never understood it.
[18:48] Speaker 1: I thought he was a great, great prospect, and he
[18:51] Speaker 1: was as you know, as unproductive as the second round
[18:54] Speaker 1: high second round pick ever is.
[18:56] Speaker 3: Maybe it's the Polka Sons.
[18:58] Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know if beating out von Vylor qualifies
[19:01] Speaker 4: as a soance if we can get that in the
[19:03] Speaker 4: songs rakings, but if Nick's excited about you know, there's
[19:06] Speaker 4: there's a reason for it, and I think there is
[19:08] Speaker 4: a need for a solid three there potential two.
[19:12] Speaker 3: You know, they were kind of laughing about it.
[19:14] Speaker 1: It was him and Mike Triplett used to be at
[19:15] Speaker 1: ASPN who now works with Nick and uh, but they
[19:19] Speaker 1: were just like, it's kind of crazy how Jalen Polk
[19:21] Speaker 1: is just like wow in us every day.
[19:25] Speaker 3: So we'll see. This could be one of those OT stories.
[19:27] Speaker 3: Just something to watch.
[19:29] Speaker 1: Malik Willis. I've noticed, for whatever reason, the Dolphins coaching
[19:35] Speaker 1: staff and even the reporters covering the team have noticed, like, look,
[19:38] Speaker 1: it's been They've had some difficulties early in the OTA
[19:41] Speaker 1: Mini camp season. They actually had their mini mandatory mini
[19:44] Speaker 1: camp last week. Jeff Hafley talked about Malik Willis and
[19:47] Speaker 1: his development on Tuesday.
[19:50] Speaker 6: They're more comfortable within the scheme they've taken more command
[19:55] Speaker 6: of the huddle, they've taken more command when they're out
[19:58] Speaker 6: there with the wide outs.
[20:00] Speaker 2: Confidence.
[20:02] Speaker 6: I've seen the confidence grow. And you know, even the
[20:04] Speaker 6: conversation I have with Maleigue today walking down the hallway,
[20:07] Speaker 6: you can just see, you know, he's more comfortable and
[20:11] Speaker 6: he understands the answers that are being provided for him
[20:13] Speaker 6: on each play. And I just I think he looks
[20:17] Speaker 6: as good as he looks since I've known him.
[20:20] Speaker 1: So Malik will Yeah, they were kind of saying it
[20:22] Speaker 1: was taking him a little bit to pick up this
[20:24] Speaker 1: new system. And I wouldn't say they were negging him,
[20:26] Speaker 1: but it was kind of clear that maybe he was
[20:28] Speaker 1: having some early struggles. Not a big deal in Ota.
[20:30] Speaker 1: So that's just nice to hear about my number one
[20:32] Speaker 1: overall free.
[20:32] Speaker 4: Agent of Yeah, he's leaving the friendly confines of the tree.
[20:36] Speaker 4: He's stepping out on his own and we'll see how
[20:40] Speaker 4: things look. You know, more concerned about the team around him,
[20:42] Speaker 4: honestly than Milik Willis.
[20:44] Speaker 3: Well, yeah, they it is crazy.
[20:46] Speaker 1: But the thing that I think hasn't been talked about
[20:48] Speaker 1: enough with the Dolphins is that Bobby Slowik is their
[20:50] Speaker 1: offensive coordinator, was a little bit of fiasco his last
[20:54] Speaker 1: tenure with the Texans. So we'll see Vikings giant. I mean,
[20:58] Speaker 1: the quarterback battle has been really taking the nation by storm.
[21:04] Speaker 1: Let's listen to Kyler Murray. We have both Kyler Murray
[21:07] Speaker 1: and JJ McCarthy, but we're gonna start with Kyler Murray.
[21:11] Speaker 1: It's a new situation for him because essentially when he
[21:14] Speaker 1: arrived in Arizona, he's the number one overall pick.
[21:17] Speaker 3: He was the guy. This is different right now he
[21:19] Speaker 3: is in a competition.
[21:21] Speaker 7: I think the toughest part is again, I was there
[21:23] Speaker 7: for seven years. I know I had two different you know,
[21:25] Speaker 7: offensive systems, but at the same time, you're getting all
[21:28] Speaker 7: those reps, you know, now having the split reps, it's
[21:33] Speaker 7: me already being behind, not getting the amount of reps
[21:35] Speaker 7: that you know, you would typically want a guy to get.
[21:38] Speaker 7: Learning an offense, that's probably the toughest part, you know,
[21:41] Speaker 7: just again going back to the past, being in control
[21:43] Speaker 7: of everything, understanding what we were already doing because I
[21:46] Speaker 7: was comfortable within the system. Now coming to the new system,
[21:48] Speaker 7: learning on the flo trying to play fast, efficient and
[21:51] Speaker 7: then let let it loose while learning is pretty you know,
[21:54] Speaker 7: That's the that's the toughest part.
[21:56] Speaker 3: I can think of one way to open up some
[21:58] Speaker 3: snaps to them. I actually get think got two ways.
[22:00] Speaker 1: One of them would be trading JJ McCarthy, who was
[22:04] Speaker 1: asked about that possibility. It's been bandied about in the
[22:08] Speaker 1: Twin Cities.
[22:08] Speaker 8: Since the end of last season until now with all
[22:11] Speaker 8: the quarterback changes that have already happened, that you've thought
[22:15] Speaker 8: about and trade or thought about the possibility of if
[22:18] Speaker 8: you wanted to be traded.
[22:20] Speaker 9: I think I made it very clear I wanted to
[22:22] Speaker 9: be here before I got here, and I love this organization.
[22:25] Speaker 9: I love the coaching staff. I absolutely love these players
[22:28] Speaker 9: to death. This is where I want to be. You know,
[22:29] Speaker 9: I feel like I can thrive in this system. And
[22:32] Speaker 9: you know it's just, you know, everything played out exactly how.
[22:35] Speaker 2: I wanted it.
[22:36] Speaker 9: I wouldn't want anything else to change.
[22:38] Speaker 4: Doesn't want to change anything, maybe the outcomes of some games.
[22:43] Speaker 2: It's a tough spot. It's a tough spot for JJ.
[22:46] Speaker 4: I could tell he's trying to have a good attitude
[22:47] Speaker 4: to make the right faces and say the right things
[22:50] Speaker 4: after he kind of got drug through the mud for
[22:52] Speaker 4: a like an awkward SoundBite about this quarterback competition, but
[22:59] Speaker 4: he wants to be there. He wants to say the
[23:01] Speaker 4: right thing, which is, you know, not really a value
[23:04] Speaker 4: add to me.
[23:05] Speaker 1: I think that Carson Wentz of it all is a
[23:07] Speaker 1: bigger factor than people understand that. Because Carson Wentz is
[23:11] Speaker 1: there just as the backup, a trade does kind of
[23:13] Speaker 1: make sense to me, But I don't think the timing
[23:15] Speaker 1: of it would really make sense, probably till the middle
[23:17] Speaker 1: of training camp. Other teams need to see what they have,
[23:20] Speaker 1: what their needs are. Maybe there's an injury, maybe you know,
[23:24] Speaker 1: maybe they get to see JJ play a little bit
[23:25] Speaker 1: in the preseason. They're gonna start giving more reps to
[23:28] Speaker 1: Kyler Murray, is what I would My two options would be,
[23:31] Speaker 1: you trade Kyl, you trade JJ McCarthy, or.
[23:34] Speaker 3: You just start giving the reps to Kyler Murray.
[23:35] Speaker 4: Yeah, this isn't Kyler's first rodeo. I think there was
[23:37] Speaker 4: a methodology behind saying that and highlighting Look, if we're
[23:41] Speaker 4: doing this, if you're thinking about trading JJ, why are
[23:43] Speaker 4: we doing this Dog and pony dance.
[23:45] Speaker 2: Let's get ready for the twenty twenty sixth season.
[23:47] Speaker 1: The Panthers are getting ready with their mandatory mini camp.
[23:49] Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting. Our colleague Cam Wolf noted
[23:55] Speaker 1: that the Panthers have high hopes for Jonathan Brooks, the
[23:57] Speaker 1: second round pick who's really at all time because of
[24:01] Speaker 1: multiple knee injuries over the last couple of years. Was
[24:03] Speaker 1: coming off in ACL coming into the NFL, then had
[24:06] Speaker 1: another one almost right away. But he believes that Brooks
[24:10] Speaker 1: could be the lead back there in Carolina, which would
[24:13] Speaker 1: shake up some fantasy drafts. And even at Mini camp,
[24:17] Speaker 1: I noticed he took the first first rep in first
[24:21] Speaker 1: team drills over Cuba Hrbard.
[24:23] Speaker 3: So I think that's maybe a kind of telling the
[24:25] Speaker 3: young kid.
[24:25] Speaker 1: Look, you've worked out hard, like you've worked hard to
[24:28] Speaker 1: get back to this point.
[24:29] Speaker 3: We have high hopes. Here's your opportunity.
[24:31] Speaker 4: Yeah, and hopefully things do work out. And it seems
[24:34] Speaker 4: like it's better for Cuba when they do split time.
[24:37] Speaker 4: I think it makes the offense work a little better
[24:39] Speaker 4: and it allows coach Canalis to call, you know, particularly
[24:44] Speaker 4: what he likes with these guys involved.
[24:46] Speaker 1: So, yeah, you're the host of the longest running network
[24:51] Speaker 1: fantasy show.
[24:53] Speaker 3: On TV.
[24:54] Speaker 1: I mean it's just a fact. Yeah, where are you
[24:57] Speaker 1: drafting these two guys?
[24:59] Speaker 4: I would draft Cuba ahead of Jonathan Brooks. I think
[25:03] Speaker 4: involvement in the past.
[25:04] Speaker 3: Game that like ninth round, eighth round, sixth round.
[25:08] Speaker 4: Yeah, it's Tuba's coming off the board with starters. To
[25:11] Speaker 4: me late like he would be RB, he'd be in
[25:16] Speaker 4: the top twenty five.
[25:18] Speaker 3: Okay, RB's bullish. You're buying a little stocky Brooks.
[25:22] Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not gonna say bullish.
[25:23] Speaker 4: They have him RB twenty five, but like i'd have
[25:26] Speaker 4: Brooks significantly lower, maybe in the mid thirties.
[25:28] Speaker 1: Risky, but I think some fantasy heads are going to
[25:32] Speaker 1: get over their skis with Brooks and kind of bet
[25:34] Speaker 1: on that, so we do.
[25:35] Speaker 3: That's ceiling.
[25:36] Speaker 1: Kim Skataboo is a guy I have been stunned by
[25:39] Speaker 1: how high his average AFT position is, Like it blew
[25:42] Speaker 1: my mind. I haven't looked at anything, but I just
[25:44] Speaker 1: saw a tweet about it that he was getting taken
[25:46] Speaker 1: in like the top twenty over picks. He's coming off
[25:48] Speaker 1: a devastating knee injury, one so bad that I just
[25:53] Speaker 1: didn't expect him to even be ready for this season.
[25:55] Speaker 1: I gotta say, though, if you're watching us on YouTube,
[25:57] Speaker 1: thank you, and you can see uh some of the
[26:00] Speaker 1: work he's out there doing he's been moving around. There's
[26:04] Speaker 1: different videos of different drills where he is moving pretty well.
[26:07] Speaker 1: He's doing the seven on seven some of the team drills.
[26:10] Speaker 1: The video that we have for you, you don't see
[26:12] Speaker 1: as as much we're enjoying it.
[26:15] Speaker 3: But he's making some moves kids, Kataboo.
[26:20] Speaker 1: It seems more positive than I would have expected at
[26:22] Speaker 1: this time of years.
[26:22] Speaker 4: Yeah, and a very violent runner of the football, which
[26:26] Speaker 4: makes me think, you know, maybe take your time. But
[26:29] Speaker 4: he's again, he's never shied away from contact or violence
[26:33] Speaker 4: or putting his body through a lot.
[26:35] Speaker 3: So here's here's my take.
[26:37] Speaker 1: Do not draft camp stabs Gattaboo anywhere near where his draft.
[26:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, currently I would leave him alone as well.
[26:44] Speaker 3: But not even close.
[26:45] Speaker 1: Like if I had to guess, my guess would be
[26:48] Speaker 1: he doesn't even lead the team and from the running
[26:50] Speaker 1: back position in your Trump scrimmage.
[26:52] Speaker 3: But that's just.
[26:52] Speaker 1: An injury thing, and that there's a you know, Tyrone
[26:54] Speaker 1: Tracy there. There's other veterans they could always add, who knows.
[26:57] Speaker 1: It just seems like too much of a risk should
[26:59] Speaker 1: her Sanders After a couple of weeks where it started
[27:02] Speaker 1: to feel like they're handing this job to Deshaun Watson.
[27:06] Speaker 1: They've been bouncing back and forth between who gets the
[27:08] Speaker 1: first team reps, so they're sharing that evenly for what
[27:10] Speaker 1: it's worth. You know, when the media was there today,
[27:12] Speaker 1: he took the first team reps. But Deshaun Watson's supposed
[27:14] Speaker 1: to get it tomorrow. But Todd Munkan, who said he
[27:16] Speaker 1: had hoped to do Claire a quarterback before training camp,
[27:20] Speaker 1: and there was some reporting from Mary kay Cabot that
[27:23] Speaker 1: he would, says he will not declaire a starting quarterback
[27:27] Speaker 1: before training camp. That they're gonna they're gonna take it
[27:29] Speaker 1: into training camp. So maybe that's a good sign for
[27:32] Speaker 1: shirur Cy Anders.
[27:33] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[27:35] Speaker 4: I mean, if you're gonna do if you're gonna call
[27:36] Speaker 4: it early, it's like the jury coming back in fifteen minutes.
[27:39] Speaker 4: You're like, all right, well this is a wrap for me,
[27:42] Speaker 4: the veteran that's going to have the advantage here in
[27:43] Speaker 4: this quarterback battle.
[27:45] Speaker 2: But if things keep going, maybe should have a shot.
[27:47] Speaker 1: Right, Well, it sounded like maybe there was They weren't
[27:49] Speaker 1: going to allow a battle. I just don't understand just
[27:52] Speaker 1: starting Deshaun Watson in the year twenty twenty six. We've
[27:55] Speaker 1: seen it, I know he'll probably wind up starting games.
[27:58] Speaker 3: It just doesn't make sense.
[27:59] Speaker 4: I think for people Blue thank Shador was bad during
[28:02] Speaker 4: his stretch his first opportunity to start as a NFL quarterback.
[28:05] Speaker 4: I think that version of Sanders was far and away
[28:08] Speaker 4: better than whatever we saw from the show.
[28:09] Speaker 1: That version of Sanders was better in a incredibly more
[28:14] Speaker 1: difficult situation than Deshaun Watson had last time around with
[28:18] Speaker 1: the Browns. Brian O'Neal, the tackle of the Vikings, is
[28:22] Speaker 1: sitting out looking potentially for a new contract. The Bengals
[28:25] Speaker 1: restructured Joe Burrows contract, creating ten million dollars in cap space.
[28:30] Speaker 1: Someone interesting because they tend to not do that in Cincinnati.
[28:35] Speaker 1: Dead money and moving money around, so that maybe they're
[28:37] Speaker 1: getting a little more current. Some other guys not practicing.
[28:40] Speaker 1: I mentioned injuries before, but I forgot to mention Makay
[28:43] Speaker 1: Lemon has been out with a hamstring injury. Daniel Jones
[28:46] Speaker 1: not taking eleven on eleven's but said he was pushing
[28:48] Speaker 1: to do so and thought he could have done so.
[28:51] Speaker 1: So he is making good progress, as are the Jacksonville
[28:55] Speaker 1: Jaguars wide receivers. If I have a takeaway from this
[28:59] Speaker 1: Ots camp season, it's that I'm getting more excited about
[29:04] Speaker 1: my guy, Brian Thomas Junior. Let's listen to Liam Cohen
[29:09] Speaker 1: talk about his connection with Trevor Laurn.
[29:12] Speaker 10: Yah, it's been a huge point emphasis. I would say
[29:15] Speaker 10: we've probably hit more of those in these OTAs in
[29:19] Speaker 10: mini camp than we did of all last season or
[29:22] Speaker 10: last offseason combined. That's being the spring and training camp.
[29:27] Speaker 10: I would say we've probably hit more of those than
[29:29] Speaker 10: last year combined, which is a good thing. It's something
[29:31] Speaker 10: that we wanted to emphasize. We started to emphasize it more,
[29:35] Speaker 10: you know after the buye was in terms of trying
[29:37] Speaker 10: to push the ball down the field more. And that
[29:40] Speaker 10: chemistry with those two is so important because if we
[29:43] Speaker 10: can be explosive with those down the field routes, being
[29:48] Speaker 10: able to push the ball down the field with those
[29:50] Speaker 10: two specifically, well man, I mean now it truly unlocks
[29:54] Speaker 10: what everybody else can do, not only just what he
[29:56] Speaker 10: and bt are able to do.
[29:58] Speaker 2: I'm all about it. That's what we wanted.
[30:00] Speaker 4: You know, a question about hitting these shots down the
[30:03] Speaker 4: sideline to BTJ, It's worked out.
[30:05] Speaker 2: He's very good at that.
[30:06] Speaker 4: Trevor Lawrence very good at throwing it to him and
[30:09] Speaker 4: with you know, the ascension of Parker Washington and all
[30:12] Speaker 4: those things.
[30:13] Speaker 2: Let's let's have the guys do stuff they're good at.
[30:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, Parker Washington was given glowing words by Liam Cohen,
[30:20] Speaker 1: also just saying he has a ton of trust in
[30:23] Speaker 1: him and he is really like a communicator and someone
[30:27] Speaker 1: I think they're going to invest in long term. But
[30:29] Speaker 1: I put stock into this Brian Thomas Junior conversation from
[30:34] Speaker 1: Cohen because he's being very specific and I don't think
[30:36] Speaker 1: he's embellishing that they've hit more deep shots than they
[30:39] Speaker 1: did all of last offseason. And it matches up exactly
[30:42] Speaker 1: with one of the best beat reporters in the business,
[30:44] Speaker 1: John Ships, who said from the get go last year, man,
[30:48] Speaker 1: it is not going well with Brian Thomas Junior in
[30:50] Speaker 1: these offseason practices, like they just haven't been on the
[30:52] Speaker 1: same page. He's that he's not fitting well with the
[30:55] Speaker 1: new system and he was a little worried all these drops.
[30:58] Speaker 1: Maybe he's thinking through things, and it carried into the
[31:01] Speaker 1: season and he has been really banging the drums since
[31:03] Speaker 1: the first OTA, and they allow more media access than
[31:07] Speaker 1: a lot of the team's out there, so he's been
[31:08] Speaker 1: there every day and Brian Thomas Junior, he says, has
[31:12] Speaker 1: just been looking electric lighting up the practice field on
[31:16] Speaker 1: a day to day basis. This ADP is going to
[31:18] Speaker 1: go up because I'm going to push it up myself. Now,
[31:21] Speaker 1: I used to work in the industry. I still have
[31:23] Speaker 1: that sort of passer.
[31:24] Speaker 2: I still do.
[31:25] Speaker 1: But Brian Thomas Junior's ADP right now is wide receiver
[31:27] Speaker 1: thirty two, at least at the sight I'm looking at
[31:30] Speaker 1: overall sixty three.
[31:32] Speaker 3: Just outrageous.
[31:33] Speaker 1: I'm getting him in every I would be getting him
[31:35] Speaker 1: every single format, every single draft.
[31:38] Speaker 3: To me, he's top twenty.
[31:40] Speaker 1: I mean last year he was top ten to fifteen
[31:43] Speaker 1: going into the season, and so I think he's bouncing
[31:46] Speaker 1: all the way back there.
[31:47] Speaker 3: But get him out like twenty to twenty five. You
[31:49] Speaker 3: get the good value.
[31:50] Speaker 4: Yeah, as long as we keep the lid on this thing.
[31:54] Speaker 4: But you keep talking him up. You're not getting that there,
[31:56] Speaker 4: I mean not getting to them. You're moving him to.
[31:58] Speaker 1: Vante Adams as way over him, take him, over him,
[32:01] Speaker 1: over a DJ Moore, over Watson, over Adnze, over Tate,
[32:04] Speaker 1: over Jordan Tyson.
[32:05] Speaker 3: Give me a break. It's a rookie.
[32:07] Speaker 2: Yeah, why are Tate and Jordan Tyson there at this point.
[32:11] Speaker 1: You saw a headline that you thought was unfortunate when
[32:13] Speaker 1: it came to Parker Washington.
[32:15] Speaker 3: Well, trend, Yeah, it's it's not really a trend.
[32:18] Speaker 2: It's an old trend.
[32:20] Speaker 4: But we look for things to talk about during OTA's
[32:23] Speaker 4: in mini camp, and so often it's about a player's growth.
[32:26] Speaker 4: But the headlines are always mentioning a player's growth where
[32:29] Speaker 4: it sounds like this is a physical growth yeah, on
[32:32] Speaker 4: the player, and it leads to some some phrasing issue. Yeah,
[32:37] Speaker 4: like Liam Cohen speaks out about Parker Washington's growth, Like
[32:40] Speaker 4: I said, okay, did he get bit by radioactives?
[32:42] Speaker 3: Okay?
[32:43] Speaker 1: So there are many ways you could take it. It
[32:45] Speaker 1: could be something like one of those boils on your neck. Yeah,
[32:48] Speaker 1: that's that's rough. Could be anything. The Bills fan in
[32:52] Speaker 1: the crowd, Eric Roberts pointed out, you just wanted to
[32:55] Speaker 1: brag that Josh Allen led in merchandise sales last year.
[32:58] Speaker 1: Bill's Nation coming through mahomes in the top ten for
[33:01] Speaker 1: the eighth straight year. He was number six. Micah led
[33:04] Speaker 1: all defensive players for a third three year. How about
[33:06] Speaker 1: Drake May number two, Taquon. These things are always like
[33:09] Speaker 1: a year late because you're kind of buying the jersey
[33:12] Speaker 1: of who was great the year before, or in May's case,
[33:14] Speaker 1: it's like he's going into a second year. Saquon was
[33:16] Speaker 1: number three, JSN number four, Jayden's up there, and then
[33:19] Speaker 1: we get to the news that we've been frankly overlooking
[33:23] Speaker 1: for too long. No one I would rather have give
[33:27] Speaker 1: perspective to on the Nathan Peterman retirement than Eric Roberts,
[33:33] Speaker 1: who has a close personal connection with the former Bills.
[33:37] Speaker 10: Ye.
[33:38] Speaker 11: I was at the game, guys, the game, the game
[33:41] Speaker 11: in the soccer stadium, the game in which he threw
[33:45] Speaker 11: what four interceptions in his first nine passes, The game
[33:48] Speaker 11: where I wore a Tyrod Taylor jersey into the game
[33:53] Speaker 11: and watched him sit on the bench while Nathan Peterman
[33:55] Speaker 11: blew the game.
[33:56] Speaker 3: And I was at the game. That was a wild time.
[34:03] Speaker 3: Remember they sent.
[34:04] Speaker 1: The tweet out like QB one QUB one, Yeah, the
[34:06] Speaker 1: music video, the edits they leaned into it.
[34:08] Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, hey, I in part kind of led
[34:11] Speaker 11: to Josh Allen. I mean he kind of. He did
[34:14] Speaker 11: start the next season. Nathan Peterman was actually the start
[34:16] Speaker 11: of Week one, the next year. Yep, I think he
[34:19] Speaker 11: threw like two interceptions early in that game against the
[34:21] Speaker 11: Ravens forty three to seven. Lost something like that worst
[34:23] Speaker 11: loss in the first game of Bill's history. But thank
[34:27] Speaker 11: you for Josh Allen, Nathan Peterman, God bless the Bill Trails.
[34:31] Speaker 1: You feel for him because this is a professional athlete
[34:33] Speaker 1: who's accomplished a lot and actually lasted. That was twenty
[34:36] Speaker 1: seventeen when he had that the game, and it's twenty
[34:41] Speaker 1: twenty six right now, so it took till now for
[34:43] Speaker 1: him to retire. I mean he was bouncing around on
[34:45] Speaker 1: some practice squads and whatnot. But Happy Trails, And yeah,
[34:49] Speaker 1: I think that that second season, it's all getting confusing
[34:55] Speaker 1: to me. He actually had somehow had a worst touchdown
[34:57] Speaker 1: to interception ratio. He had had seven interceptions and only
[35:02] Speaker 1: one touchdown. He didn't jam it all into one half
[35:05] Speaker 1: that season, but it actually it got worse the second season.
[35:08] Speaker 11: I had a conversation with my brother walking inside game
[35:10] Speaker 11: where I was like, upset, I'm walking in we're in
[35:13] Speaker 11: a backup quarterback jersey.
[35:15] Speaker 3: I love Tyro Tyler too.
[35:16] Speaker 11: I mean broke the you know, broke the drought, but
[35:19] Speaker 11: a lot of you know, not gonna win his games,
[35:21] Speaker 11: won't lose games also, but thank you Nathan Peterman.
[35:25] Speaker 3: I'm glad that.
[35:26] Speaker 1: You're here for this day too, Patrick, because I think
[35:28] Speaker 1: no one has been harder on Nathan Peterman over the
[35:30] Speaker 1: years than you.
[35:31] Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I think I think Nathan Peterman would
[35:33] Speaker 4: have something to say about being hard on Nathan Peterman.
[35:36] Speaker 4: There's Ultimately, my commentary was the same as Eric's that day.
[35:40] Speaker 4: Tyrod Taylor deserved that chance. Yes, to start, we got
[35:44] Speaker 4: more Nathan Peterman when a lot of guys have worked
[35:46] Speaker 4: very hard. You know, Nathan Peterman wasn't the only guy
[35:49] Speaker 4: that worked hard, and you know, to his credit, he's
[35:52] Speaker 4: not the only person perhaps it got opportunities to play
[35:54] Speaker 4: quarterback that shouldn't have to the history of the NFL.
[35:56] Speaker 4: There's a long list of guys on that. But yeah,
[35:59] Speaker 4: it was all it was fun to see the ball
[36:01] Speaker 4: go in the other direction, and uh, you know, it
[36:05] Speaker 4: was probably unfair to him because you know, he's just
[36:07] Speaker 4: out there trying to play football, but it was hilarious
[36:09] Speaker 4: to me every time.
[36:11] Speaker 2: And his name's.
[36:12] Speaker 1: Funny, So yeah, I guess he kind of helped lead
[36:14] Speaker 1: to Josh Allen. But also the fact that that happened
[36:18] Speaker 1: so quickly, got him bench so quickly so that you
[36:22] Speaker 1: guys could go make a playoff run because that was
[36:24] Speaker 1: that year with Tyrad Right, it all it all comes together,
[36:28] Speaker 1: Nathan Peterman.
[36:29] Speaker 11: The shout out to was was then stub Hub Center
[36:32] Speaker 11: in Carson.
[36:32] Speaker 3: It was awesome. I mean that walking in it was
[36:35] Speaker 3: like you were playing the Chargers.
[36:37] Speaker 11: YEA not a bad seat in the house. You know,
[36:38] Speaker 11: two levels of seats. It was awesome.
[36:40] Speaker 3: We got to get Patrick to this show.
[36:42] Speaker 1: By the way, Sorry sorry, Rick, I just realized we
[36:46] Speaker 1: are going to do a rapid fire just some players
[36:48] Speaker 1: early in the OTA season. We are buying stock in
[36:53] Speaker 1: and we'll just go back and forth. Just we're kind
[36:55] Speaker 1: of setting some breadcrumbs that we're gonna maybe expound on
[36:58] Speaker 1: more at a future future day.
[37:00] Speaker 4: You saw Mike Mack with John Ohu Smith. You saw
[37:02] Speaker 4: Mike mac resurrect Darren Waller. What's Mike matt going to
[37:07] Speaker 4: do with Arondez Gats in the second? Here in Los
[37:10] Speaker 4: Angeles where everything's going to be flying around, I'm buying
[37:13] Speaker 4: stock in a Rendez Gas in the second.
[37:16] Speaker 1: That's a good one too, because I think people will
[37:17] Speaker 1: get distracted by the Joku of it all, and like
[37:20] Speaker 1: Joku signed a pretty low cost contract. It was like
[37:23] Speaker 1: that Lugariousneaed contract. It's like one year, three million dollars,
[37:26] Speaker 1: Like that's a backup type a contract. I'm buying some
[37:29] Speaker 1: stock in Tarik Woolen. I just just the talk of
[37:33] Speaker 1: the other Eagles coaches that people covering that team.
[37:35] Speaker 3: I think they're excited.
[37:36] Speaker 1: I think he's excited to be in that system, and
[37:41] Speaker 1: I think they're going to highlight him and he's going
[37:43] Speaker 1: to be making himself a lot of money this year.
[37:45] Speaker 4: It makes so much sense, and I'm all about it.
[37:47] Speaker 4: I'm also buying stock in elk Iomnor. You've got two
[37:51] Speaker 4: new wide receivers coming in, one with a familiarity with
[37:54] Speaker 4: his with his old head coach in Wandelle Robinson, and
[37:58] Speaker 4: then Carnel Tate coming in as rookie. But I think
[38:00] Speaker 4: it means something that first year playing together with your quarterback.
[38:04] Speaker 2: So I'm in on ele.
[38:05] Speaker 1: Okay, second year Titans receiver. This is a random one,
[38:09] Speaker 1: but I saw this Ben Johnson quote about Khaliff Raymon
[38:12] Speaker 1: just about how he's like thirty two years going on
[38:15] Speaker 1: twenty four, that this guy's got fresh legs that he
[38:18] Speaker 1: has the juice that Ben Johnson is gonna use him
[38:21] Speaker 1: some Cliff Raymon and this is not a fantasy take
[38:24] Speaker 1: because he's not gonna have a high enough volume. But
[38:28] Speaker 1: I am buying stock in Khalif Raymond making like multiple
[38:33] Speaker 1: game changing plays that impact a playoff race. I'll being
[38:37] Speaker 1: on the receiving end of some insane Caleb Williams play
[38:41] Speaker 1: and being like, Wow, that was a good signing Khaliff Raymond.
[38:43] Speaker 4: Yeah, there was a game last year where he did
[38:46] Speaker 4: that right, and his head coach is at the podium
[38:49] Speaker 4: almost in tears talking about how much he loves Leaf
[38:52] Speaker 4: and how much this team means. Ben Johnson was there
[38:54] Speaker 4: with Dan Campbell and he loves Leaf too, so much
[38:57] Speaker 4: in fact, that he stole him and wants them to
[38:59] Speaker 4: do those things.
[39:00] Speaker 1: Like is there a world that he is almost as
[39:02] Speaker 1: productive as like a Dunza and Luther Burden what about
[39:08] Speaker 1: like two thirds of the way there and they're like
[39:10] Speaker 1: a little less than people expect and he and he's
[39:12] Speaker 1: a little more and Loveland is kind of the number
[39:16] Speaker 1: one guy.
[39:16] Speaker 2: Those guys are the producers. But Leif is going to
[39:18] Speaker 2: do things make everybody happen.
[39:20] Speaker 3: Not quite buying us. I'm buying more. Do you have
[39:23] Speaker 3: any more guys, You're I'm fresh. I have one because
[39:25] Speaker 3: I don't know why.
[39:26] Speaker 1: I thought this is the hottest take and I'm just
[39:29] Speaker 1: And when I think about buying stock, it's like you're
[39:31] Speaker 1: buying You're buying low, and I want to get it
[39:33] Speaker 1: at the lowest of values because it's gonna only go up.
[39:36] Speaker 1: I'm I'm buying like a moderate amount now and I
[39:40] Speaker 1: might even buy more later, which is gonna hurt my
[39:42] Speaker 1: cost averaging. But I don't I don't want to be
[39:44] Speaker 1: too aggressive right now. I think to a tongue of
[39:48] Speaker 1: I looo. With Kevin stefanci is gonna just be like
[39:50] Speaker 1: have some moments where you're like, oh, yeah, I don't
[39:53] Speaker 1: know how Kevin Stefanski does it. He always I'm not
[39:55] Speaker 1: big on the Falcons this year, but he always just
[39:57] Speaker 1: creates offense and then you'll be You'll remember like, oh,
[40:00] Speaker 1: I remember a couple of years ago when everyone thought
[40:03] Speaker 1: like Tua was a plus quarterback. He can do certain
[40:06] Speaker 1: things really well. He can distribute the ball. I think
[40:09] Speaker 1: the combination of him and Stefanski, people are going to
[40:13] Speaker 1: be reminded that this is a very accurate professional quarterback
[40:16] Speaker 1: into a tongue of violot. So I'm going to get
[40:18] Speaker 1: in a little early before the week three hot takes
[40:22] Speaker 1: of like, oh, hey, they've really got something here with Tua.
[40:26] Speaker 4: Yeah, you get to see Stefanski and Dylan Gabriel plus
[40:29] Speaker 4: plus plus plus right, like all the things that he
[40:31] Speaker 4: was able to do with Dylan Gabriel, you could do
[40:33] Speaker 4: literally every single one of those things much better even
[40:36] Speaker 4: with this version of Tua.
[40:37] Speaker 3: Now, is that maybe he's healthy and we get the
[40:39] Speaker 3: other version?
[40:40] Speaker 2: Right?
[40:40] Speaker 3: Is that a path to the playoffs with this roster? No?
[40:43] Speaker 1: Is that a path to some surprising production that gets
[40:46] Speaker 1: to a tongue of I allow Loah paid a lot
[40:49] Speaker 1: more money maybe by the Falcons after this season because
[40:52] Speaker 1: Drake London's there, And yes, that's what I think I'm
[40:54] Speaker 1: buying the stock in. But the stock is at an
[40:56] Speaker 1: all time low, and so is your time on it.
[41:00] Speaker 3: Patrick. We raced in.
[41:02] Speaker 1: Congratulations to my son for graduating, who did it from
[41:06] Speaker 1: elementary school. What a fun day and lunch we had,
[41:09] Speaker 1: And thanks for being flexible, Patrick and always putting in
[41:13] Speaker 1: the hard yards. So we will be back one more
[41:16] Speaker 1: show this week. You will hear from us on Thursday.
[41:20] Speaker 1: Looking forward to that, wrapping up the week.
[41:23] Speaker 3: Come on back, it's back.
