[0:04] Speaker 1: Welcome to NFL Daily, where Mini camp season is officially over.
[0:09] Speaker 1: I'm Greg Rosenthal in Los Angeles talking to my friend,
[0:14] Speaker 1: my former co worker, the goat of the fantasy football industry.
[0:19] Speaker 1: It is Evan Silva of established the run. With all
[0:23] Speaker 1: the work on the grass and shorts done for the offseason, Silva,
[0:28] Speaker 1: we're going to do some winners and losers today. Are
[0:31] Speaker 1: you ready?
[0:32] Speaker 2: I'm ready. I think I'm gonna put more of a
[0:34] Speaker 2: fantasy angle on mine. Please, yeah, so, I think it'd
[0:39] Speaker 2: be good.
[0:41] Speaker 1: Silva, of course came up at road a World. We
[0:45] Speaker 1: worked together there a long time. He's big in the
[0:48] Speaker 1: fantasy world. I thought, that's why it'd be good to
[0:50] Speaker 1: have you, because you're paying as a close attention to
[0:54] Speaker 1: the news nitty gritty as anyone ups and downs, and
[0:57] Speaker 1: you can only learn so much from mini camp season.
[1:00] Speaker 1: But before we said goodbye to it completely, eleven teams
[1:03] Speaker 1: had mini camps this week, the last of them and
[1:06] Speaker 1: including the Jets, had their you know, their final work
[1:09] Speaker 1: on Wednesday or Thursday. I think the Chargers went into Thursday,
[1:13] Speaker 1: but just about everyone cut it short and now it's done.
[1:16] Speaker 1: I thought we'd have one final look back before we
[1:19] Speaker 1: get into some of the you know, true off season programming,
[1:22] Speaker 1: Like we have some wide receiver rankings coming on Sunday,
[1:25] Speaker 1: so Silva will help me out here. I'll be a
[1:27] Speaker 1: little less fantasy, just overall winners and losers. But why
[1:29] Speaker 1: don't you get us going. Let's do I have way
[1:31] Speaker 1: more winners than I don't have a ton of losers here. Yeah,
[1:34] Speaker 1: it's the off season, so why don't we just do
[1:36] Speaker 1: winners for a while and we'll wrap up the show
[1:39] Speaker 1: with losers. You can start us off.
[1:40] Speaker 2: It's easier to come up with winners than it is
[1:43] Speaker 2: to losers because this is the time for optimism. The
[1:45] Speaker 2: time during the off season is the time where you
[1:47] Speaker 2: can have hope and optimism. It's easier, like in when
[1:50] Speaker 2: we're doing our fantasy content to come up with sleepers
[1:54] Speaker 2: than bus. You know, it's either or breakout players than bus.
[1:59] Speaker 2: It's just easier to have optimism. And then when the
[2:03] Speaker 2: you know, we get down to the nitty gritty and
[2:04] Speaker 2: team start losing and players start playing poorly, you know
[2:08] Speaker 2: that then you know, the cream rises and the bottoms
[2:13] Speaker 2: fall out.
[2:13] Speaker 1: On the busts are easier to predict. I found from
[2:17] Speaker 1: doing this, like when you look back after the fact
[2:19] Speaker 1: you hit bus more often.
[2:21] Speaker 2: It's because you're to come up with like ten breakout
[2:23] Speaker 2: players and five bus, but you'll hit on four of the.
[2:25] Speaker 1: Bus because and I think the reason is it's just
[2:29] Speaker 1: human nature. Ultimately, we're more disappointed with more of the
[2:33] Speaker 1: players than we are, like pleasantly surprised. All right, get
[2:36] Speaker 1: us going.
[2:37] Speaker 2: With the winner. Kenneth Walker, I think was a huge
[2:40] Speaker 2: winner this offseason, got a really big contract from Kansas City,
[2:45] Speaker 2: going from a two way time share in Seattle with
[2:48] Speaker 2: Zach Sharboney, where that really you know, Kenneth Walker was
[2:51] Speaker 2: a player that a lot of people had really high
[2:53] Speaker 2: hopes for in Fantasy last year in Seattle, and Zach
[2:56] Speaker 2: Sharbonay essentially making it a fifty to fifty split took
[2:59] Speaker 2: a way so much and also getting the ball at
[3:01] Speaker 2: the goal line. Zach Sharboney was the preferred red zone
[3:04] Speaker 2: back for Seattle. Now Kenneth Walker goes to Kansas City,
[3:08] Speaker 2: where he's gone, I think he's going to be the
[3:10] Speaker 2: fulcrum of the offense, at least initially as Patrick Mahomes
[3:13] Speaker 2: makes his recovery way back from the ACL and the
[3:16] Speaker 2: MC and the LCL, and you know, Rashi Rice don't
[3:21] Speaker 2: really know what to think about him. Travis Kelcey, you
[3:24] Speaker 2: know he's pushing forty. The weapons just aren't there. Kenneth
[3:28] Speaker 2: Walker is going to be the weapon. If you look
[3:30] Speaker 2: at the the backfield competition that he has in Kansas City.
[3:34] Speaker 2: We're talking about Amari de Marcado, we're talking about a
[3:38] Speaker 2: rookie and Emmett Johnson. I think that Kenneth Walker, who's
[3:41] Speaker 2: a player who really returned about maybe fifth or sixth
[3:44] Speaker 2: round value in fantasy last year, is a locked in
[3:48] Speaker 2: end of the first round pick. I have him as
[3:50] Speaker 2: the RB four overall in Fantasy entering the line now.
[3:53] Speaker 1: All right, so we're getting into some good Fantasy football
[3:56] Speaker 1: prev territory. We'll have Evan back if he's willing for
[4:00] Speaker 1: the big Fantasy spectacular later leading up to the season.
[4:04] Speaker 1: I love that because just thinking about the Mini camp
[4:07] Speaker 1: of it all and the Ota season of it all,
[4:10] Speaker 1: the way they've talked about Walker, the investment that they've
[4:12] Speaker 1: placed in Walker. But more than anything, Silva, it's the
[4:16] Speaker 1: headline I saw the other day that's like, Amari de
[4:19] Speaker 1: Mercado looks like RB two if we had to choose
[4:22] Speaker 1: one right now, and I'm like, oh my god, that
[4:24] Speaker 1: is an old school. We really just have one guy
[4:27] Speaker 1: that's going to do everything for us.
[4:29] Speaker 2: That's exactly right and that's what we want out of it.
[4:32] Speaker 2: So one of the questions on Kenneth Walker coming out
[4:34] Speaker 2: of Michigan State was could he catch the football? Because
[4:37] Speaker 2: they did not throw him the ball at Michigan State,
[4:39] Speaker 2: and I think that's one of the reasons that he
[4:41] Speaker 2: didn't go in the first round of the NFL drafting
[4:43] Speaker 2: in the second round, we've seen that he can catch
[4:46] Speaker 2: over the last couple of seasons in Seattle. That's going
[4:49] Speaker 2: to be a big part of the way he's used,
[4:50] Speaker 2: I think now in Kansas City in a big addition
[4:53] Speaker 2: to his game. I think he's going to score a
[4:54] Speaker 2: bunch of touchdowns. Hit it. We know he can hit
[4:56] Speaker 2: big plays. And this is the Poey who just won
[4:58] Speaker 2: Super Bowl MV. I'm really excited about him in Casey.
[5:04] Speaker 1: So I have another chief. We're going to try to
[5:06] Speaker 1: go establish the run style. You guys always hit a
[5:08] Speaker 1: million topics and a really short amount of time because
[5:11] Speaker 1: they're Levitan's all about efficiency. Oh we only have you know,
[5:15] Speaker 1: so we don't have any time to waste. You can't
[5:17] Speaker 1: honk and have too much fun. You need to hit
[5:19] Speaker 1: seventy five players in forty minutes, So we'll try to
[5:21] Speaker 1: do that. Xavier Worthy was mentioned by The Athletic. You know,
[5:26] Speaker 1: if you had to choose an offseason MVP, he might
[5:29] Speaker 1: be a I hesitate to put too much into the
[5:32] Speaker 1: Xavier Worthy basket, but as you mentioned, another rocky off
[5:36] Speaker 1: season with for Rashi Rice, who to me is a
[5:38] Speaker 1: better player, but he's entering a year where like he'll
[5:43] Speaker 1: have to prove that he's worthy of a long term contract.
[5:45] Speaker 1: And it's just one of one of those things I noted. Like, Okay,
[5:47] Speaker 1: I know Worthy is the type of player that looks
[5:50] Speaker 1: good in these non padded practices, but just something I'm
[5:54] Speaker 1: gonna watch because he moves different than other players. And
[5:56] Speaker 1: if Andy Reid has a vision for him and he's
[5:58] Speaker 1: been all by himself there as kind of the wide
[6:00] Speaker 1: receiver one in the offseason, we'll see what they get
[6:02] Speaker 1: going for Xavier Worthy. Yeah, Savior Worthy love.
[6:05] Speaker 2: I know Andy Reid has had this obsession with trying
[6:09] Speaker 2: to find his next to Shawn Jackson, and you know
[6:12] Speaker 2: he tried it. He's trying it with Xavier Worth, and
[6:14] Speaker 2: he tried it with Mkole Hardman, and he sort of
[6:16] Speaker 2: tried it with the Anthony Thomas, and you know, there
[6:19] Speaker 2: have been you know, he has like a sort of
[6:21] Speaker 2: like a Taekwon Thornton. He has like a type of receiver.
[6:25] Speaker 2: I just feel like he has just not been able
[6:27] Speaker 2: to find that next DeShawn Jackson, And there were some
[6:30] Speaker 2: hope I feel like as a rookie for Xavier Worthy
[6:33] Speaker 2: to maybe be like that and just has not come
[6:36] Speaker 2: to fruition. But no question, the opportunity looks really good
[6:39] Speaker 2: on paper right now for Xavier wor Worthy. I've already
[6:42] Speaker 2: done about fifteen or twenty fantasy drafts, mostly best Ball,
[6:45] Speaker 2: but I've been drafting a little bit as Xavier Worthy.
[6:48] Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I thought his college tape was interesting. DeShawn
[6:52] Speaker 1: Jackson's an interesting cup like where a lot of it
[6:55] Speaker 1: was funneled through him. I do think there's more that
[6:57] Speaker 1: he can unlock at the pro level. But just someone
[7:01] Speaker 1: I noted say healthy, Yeah, he has to stay healthy.
[7:04] Speaker 2: That.
[7:04] Speaker 1: I just like it when I hear from the people
[7:07] Speaker 1: on the ground that they think he's had a good
[7:08] Speaker 1: year going into year three. All right, give me another one.
[7:11] Speaker 2: I'm gonna go. Can I pivots a loser?
[7:14] Speaker 1: You can do whatever you want, SOBA, all right, I
[7:17] Speaker 1: like it. Yeah.
[7:18] Speaker 2: I hate to say this because Devon a Chan is
[7:20] Speaker 2: one of my favorite players in the NFL. Yeah, but
[7:24] Speaker 2: going from Tua, who was a dump down and a
[7:27] Speaker 2: checkdown machine, to Malik Willis, who in passing situations is
[7:33] Speaker 2: much more likely than Tua was to run and to
[7:35] Speaker 2: take off and try to make a play himself. That's
[7:38] Speaker 2: going to take away from one of Devon a Chan's
[7:41] Speaker 2: greatest strengths, and that's catching the football out of the
[7:44] Speaker 2: backdoord of making plays with the ball in his hands. Also,
[7:47] Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. We had established the run retreat recently,
[7:51] Speaker 2: and I drove there, I drove back, and on the
[7:53] Speaker 2: way back, I drove with Brandon Thorn. I made sure
[7:56] Speaker 2: that Brandon Thorn was sitting next to me for the
[7:58] Speaker 2: hour and a half drive home so I could pick
[8:00] Speaker 2: his brain. Brandon Thorne the pre eminent NFL media analyst
[8:05] Speaker 2: regarding offensive lineman literally like hangs out with offensive linemen
[8:09] Speaker 2: and offensive line coaches, and one of the biggest themes
[8:12] Speaker 2: that he hit on to me as we were talking
[8:14] Speaker 2: was the impact of Mike McDaniel. He really believes in
[8:19] Speaker 2: Mike McDaniel as a difference maker when it comes to
[8:23] Speaker 2: pretty much everything regarding offense. And I know that we
[8:26] Speaker 2: kind of know that, but to hear that from a
[8:27] Speaker 2: guy who's, you know, an offensive line analyst in particular,
[8:32] Speaker 2: and the difference is that Mike McDaniel can make on
[8:34] Speaker 2: an offense. From that standpoint, you know, I think that
[8:38] Speaker 2: losing him is going to be really really big, a
[8:41] Speaker 2: big negative, a net negative for the Dolphins and a
[8:45] Speaker 2: huge positive for the Chargers. And I don't know what
[8:49] Speaker 2: to think of Bobby Slowak. I really wanted to like
[8:51] Speaker 2: Bobby Slowick his first year with the Texans and things,
[8:54] Speaker 2: and then things kind of went downhill after that. And
[8:58] Speaker 2: he's the new OC in Miami, I mean, and I
[9:00] Speaker 2: just don't know if he can bring to the table
[9:02] Speaker 2: anything close to what Mike McDaniel could bring to the table.
[9:05] Speaker 2: And when we get to winners, I will talk about
[9:07] Speaker 2: a Charger.
[9:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, well I will pivot to the Chargers. But to
[9:11] Speaker 1: close the eighth chan point, it's also coming off a
[9:13] Speaker 1: shoulder surgery. We didn't know, yeah, that it was necessarily
[9:16] Speaker 1: a surgery, and so he's expected to be back for
[9:19] Speaker 1: training camp, but everyone is expected to be back for
[9:21] Speaker 1: trading camp. I do think the addition to Malik Willis
[9:24] Speaker 1: could unlock each other. They could be helping each other.
[9:29] Speaker 1: But it's a great point that look, Aaron Brewer was
[9:32] Speaker 1: incredible at center, Patrick Paul really developed at left tackle.
[9:37] Speaker 1: You know, you have a highly drafted rookie on the
[9:39] Speaker 1: offensive line. Will these guys be as good going to
[9:42] Speaker 1: this system with slook as they were with mcdealel.
[9:46] Speaker 2: That's one thing that I talked to about Thorn too.
[9:47] Speaker 2: As you mentioned Aaron Brewer, I asked him who if
[9:50] Speaker 2: he does not have a vote for was it Protector
[9:55] Speaker 2: of the Year but which it was won by Joe Tooney.
[9:58] Speaker 2: He thought that Aaron Brewer should have one Protector of
[10:02] Speaker 2: the Year last year. I thought that that was really interesting.
[10:04] Speaker 2: And that's also that's also a situation where he talked
[10:07] Speaker 2: about the effect of Mike McDaniel being able to turn
[10:10] Speaker 2: a guy like Aaron Brewer from you know, a super
[10:13] Speaker 2: undersized I don't think Aaron Brewer was drafted a super
[10:16] Speaker 2: undersized center into one of the best centers in football.
[10:20] Speaker 2: Just being able to utilize him properly. YEP.
[10:23] Speaker 1: He's dynamic, and he's one of the guys they are
[10:26] Speaker 1: building around. McDaniel's one of my off season winners just
[10:29] Speaker 1: because he's in this position right now as the coordinator
[10:33] Speaker 1: that he's giving given full autonomy on a Jim Harbaugh team,
[10:38] Speaker 1: which seems crazy. He's allowed to come up with this
[10:40] Speaker 1: plan where justin Herbert's not even throwing on certain days
[10:45] Speaker 1: during the offseason and he's working exclusively on footwork. He's
[10:49] Speaker 1: got like you know, they're trying to get it, so
[10:50] Speaker 1: he gets rid of the ball a little quicker with
[10:52] Speaker 1: his right foot forward at the snap, so it's quick.
[10:55] Speaker 1: It's all this stuff. But there was a quote this
[10:57] Speaker 1: week that made me write him down for this exercise Silva,
[11:00] Speaker 1: which you know, Harbo was asked about McDaniel and he said, well,
[11:04] Speaker 1: that's our leader. We just listened to what he says.
[11:07] Speaker 1: That's your leader. Jim Harbaugh is saying, right, that's our leader.
[11:10] Speaker 2: So mcdid not always the kind of guy to defer somebody.
[11:13] Speaker 2: You know, Jim Harbaugh is an alpha.
[11:16] Speaker 1: Right, and the fact that he's saying that, and if
[11:18] Speaker 1: you're McDaniel, some of the videos with him and Quinton Johnson,
[11:22] Speaker 1: I love and then you also get the best tackle duo,
[11:26] Speaker 1: at least young tackle duo in the league back healthy,
[11:28] Speaker 1: and all the signs have been really good for that.
[11:30] Speaker 1: It just feels like it's been an off season of McDaniel.
[11:33] Speaker 1: The combination of McDaniel Harbaugh and then the Chargers social
[11:37] Speaker 1: team very dynamic together and the wires. It's gonna be big,
[11:43] Speaker 1: all right, give you another one.
[11:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I'm just going to go to Justin
[11:46] Speaker 2: Herbert for basically all the reasons that we just outlined.
[11:49] Speaker 2: That was another thing that Thorn really harped on was
[11:51] Speaker 2: the return of for Shaun Slater and Joe Alt, and like,
[11:55] Speaker 2: we have statistics that establish around the on and off
[11:58] Speaker 2: stats for when SLA and or really Alt because Slater
[12:02] Speaker 2: didn't play very much at all, so the sample size
[12:05] Speaker 2: wasn't too big, but the on off stats for Joe
[12:08] Speaker 2: Alt were massive last season. And that's another point in
[12:13] Speaker 2: the direction of Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert is like in
[12:15] Speaker 2: terms of if you look at sportsbook odds, am I'm
[12:18] Speaker 2: allowed to mention those.
[12:20] Speaker 1: You can do whatever you want, Okay, I like it.
[12:22] Speaker 1: I can't personally do any you know, betting myself.
[12:26] Speaker 2: No, I'm not even gonna make a betting recommendation. I
[12:29] Speaker 2: actually don't even think it's that great of a bet.
[12:30] Speaker 2: But if you just look at the sports bet sports
[12:33] Speaker 2: betting odds right now for Justin Herbert, he's like top
[12:35] Speaker 2: five or top six. He was ten to one last
[12:37] Speaker 2: time I looked. He's like one of the favorites for MVP.
[12:41] Speaker 2: Sportsbooks tend to know what they're doing, so I put
[12:45] Speaker 2: a little bit of stock in that. But certainly the
[12:47] Speaker 2: return of the offensive offensive tackles the addition of Mike McDaniel.
[12:51] Speaker 2: I think that this is the year that Justin Herbert
[12:53] Speaker 2: really breaks through. You know, we've seen the potential of
[12:57] Speaker 2: Justin Herbert. I think that this is his year.
[12:59] Speaker 1: We have a quarterbacks draft coming up before the fourth
[13:03] Speaker 1: of July holiday. It's me and John Ledyard and yeah,
[13:06] Speaker 1: I was really struggling with where where to put Herbert
[13:09] Speaker 1: based on how last year ended. But you know, comparing
[13:14] Speaker 1: him to some of the like the established guys, like
[13:16] Speaker 1: like a Stafford, like can he pass those guys yet?
[13:19] Speaker 1: He hasn't earned it, but it does feel like he
[13:21] Speaker 1: is set up to have a great season. Another quarterback
[13:24] Speaker 1: in that ballpark who I think is going to be
[13:27] Speaker 1: great this season. Is Joe Burrow I'm gonna give just
[13:31] Speaker 1: like his confidence as a winner, like just just the
[13:36] Speaker 1: Joe Burrow aura right now because he was so sad
[13:40] Speaker 1: at the end of last year and now you know,
[13:43] Speaker 1: he's making pretty bold quotes at the podium. Let's actually
[13:47] Speaker 1: listen to Joe Burrow this week at the conclusion of
[13:51] Speaker 1: the Bengals mini camp.
[13:53] Speaker 3: I think that's great, you know, put pressure on guys.
[13:58] Speaker 3: I love it thriving. We'll find out who else does
[14:04] Speaker 3: I know that we have the kind of people that
[14:07] Speaker 3: want to be in that spot. Want I want everybody
[14:11] Speaker 3: talking about the Bengals. I want everybody talking about what
[14:14] Speaker 3: I'm saying in my press conferences.
[14:17] Speaker 4: Is he You know, you go back and watch what
[14:20] Speaker 4: I said before twenty nineteen season at LSU. You know,
[14:23] Speaker 4: I feel very similarly about this team.
[14:28] Speaker 2: You know, I'm so excited to get started and.
[14:31] Speaker 4: Get moving, and I wish we would ramp this right
[14:34] Speaker 4: into training camp so we can continue to improve because
[14:38] Speaker 4: I feel like, you know, there's so much greatness that
[14:41] Speaker 4: we're going to be able to achieve this year.
[14:44] Speaker 3: I'm just excited to get going.
[14:46] Speaker 1: I'm a sucker for this stuff. Him talking about twenty nineteen,
[14:50] Speaker 1: lsu that he feels the same as before that season,
[14:53] Speaker 1: and go back and check the tape, and the writer
[14:56] Speaker 1: for The Athletic, Paul Dator, did go check what his
[14:58] Speaker 1: quotes were, and he said before that season, he thinks
[15:00] Speaker 1: they're going to score forty fifty points a game, and
[15:02] Speaker 1: people thought he was insane there, and they literally have
[15:04] Speaker 1: aged forty eight points per game. It seems very purposeful,
[15:08] Speaker 1: like how Joe Burrow is kind of standing up there.
[15:11] Speaker 1: He's sitting up and saying that he thinks this is
[15:13] Speaker 1: going to be the best Bengals team. Like I'm buying
[15:16] Speaker 1: it a little bit.
[15:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good to see him with that kind of
[15:20] Speaker 2: body language because we've seen him with bad body language
[15:23] Speaker 2: before too, you know, so I like seeing him up.
[15:26] Speaker 2: He just needs to stay healthy. He's Adam Levitan's pick
[15:29] Speaker 2: this year for MVP. I mean, and I think that
[15:33] Speaker 2: he's as good. He just got to stay healthy. If
[15:35] Speaker 2: he can stay healthy healthy, and Tea can stay healthy
[15:38] Speaker 2: and Jamar Chase can stay healthy, They're going to score
[15:40] Speaker 2: a ton of points. I mean, there's no question about that.
[15:43] Speaker 1: It's interesting that he said he has made a point
[15:47] Speaker 1: to be more urgent talking to players to push players.
[15:51] Speaker 1: He even used the word I I've even been kind
[15:54] Speaker 1: of mean, which like if he actually was mean, he
[15:56] Speaker 1: wouldn't use the word I've been mean. Doesn't seem like
[15:58] Speaker 1: a mean guy, but if you watch the Quarterback Show
[16:00] Speaker 1: on Netflix, I think that's something he struggled with. He's
[16:04] Speaker 1: maybe a quiet leader. He's not gonna say much. You
[16:07] Speaker 1: always want a guy to be natural, but he has
[16:09] Speaker 1: been saying that he knows how important he is to
[16:12] Speaker 1: everyone around him, and he's tried to be a little
[16:15] Speaker 1: bit more of like a vocal, kick ass type of guy.
[16:18] Speaker 1: This season. You're putting a lot of pressure on themselves.
[16:20] Speaker 1: It's definitely even ownership. Silva essentially said it was a
[16:25] Speaker 1: win or else season for their GM coach combination. They
[16:28] Speaker 1: wanted to give it one more chance. So it's like
[16:30] Speaker 1: all or nothing this year for the Bengals. But I
[16:32] Speaker 1: kind of like Burrow changing how he is acting.
[16:35] Speaker 2: I do too.
[16:38] Speaker 1: I'll keep going because I got a million winners. I'm
[16:40] Speaker 1: gonna do AJ Brown just obviously, this is what happened
[16:45] Speaker 1: during Nick the mini camp, you know period and Ota
[16:50] Speaker 1: period was the AJ Brown trade. And I think it's
[16:52] Speaker 1: been a lot of focus on what AJ Brown can
[16:57] Speaker 1: do for Drake May, but I think it might be
[16:59] Speaker 1: more important what you're they can do for AJ Brown.
[17:02] Speaker 1: I mean, he hasn't had a quarterback like this ever
[17:07] Speaker 1: maybe and certainly didn't have it in Philadelphia, and at
[17:11] Speaker 1: this point of his career where I think it's gonna
[17:13] Speaker 1: be great for his motivation but also for his versatility.
[17:15] Speaker 1: I think they're gonna be able to use a J.
[17:17] Speaker 1: Brown over the middle of the field, obviously deep down
[17:20] Speaker 1: the field, one of the best deep ball throwers. And
[17:22] Speaker 1: I think Drake May could be rejuvenating AJ Brown even
[17:26] Speaker 1: more than AJ Brown is really juicing up this Patriots offense.
[17:30] Speaker 2: You're right about the play of the quarterback. Do you
[17:32] Speaker 2: know who AJ Brown's quarterback in college was? Jordan Taamu? No,
[17:39] Speaker 2: I definitely did not Jordan Taamu. And he had AJ
[17:43] Speaker 2: Brown and DK Metcalf and Dawson Knox.
[17:46] Speaker 1: He cost them money. He made a lot of NFL teams,
[17:49] Speaker 1: including Bill Belichick drafting Nikhil Harry over both those guys
[17:53] Speaker 1: look pretty dumb, But that was on That was on
[17:56] Speaker 1: Bill Belichick and then and then who did he have
[17:58] Speaker 1: early in the Tennessee gac. He had Tannehill there, so
[18:01] Speaker 1: like that's okay, but it's not.
[18:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, shoot Tannehill might be his best I don't know,
[18:08] Speaker 2: all right, I'm gonna go with a loser, a surprise loser.
[18:11] Speaker 2: Jeremiah Love. Now he's a winner, you know, independently from
[18:16] Speaker 2: the standpoint that he's like, you know, one of the
[18:17] Speaker 2: highest drafted running backs in recent modern NFL history, and
[18:22] Speaker 2: he has the most guaranteed money of any running back
[18:24] Speaker 2: in the NFL now because of that, So he himself
[18:28] Speaker 2: was a winner of the offseason. But going to a horrible,
[18:34] Speaker 2: horribly I think, one of the worst run organizations in
[18:37] Speaker 2: the NFL, where initially he's gonna have to split time
[18:40] Speaker 2: I think. I mean, they gave money to Tyler Algier,
[18:45] Speaker 2: you know, and even they brought back James Connor, who
[18:48] Speaker 2: I think is I mean, I don't think you bring
[18:49] Speaker 2: back James Connor unless he's gonna play at least something
[18:51] Speaker 2: of a role. So he goes to a three way
[18:54] Speaker 2: time share on a bad team and his offensive coordinator
[18:58] Speaker 2: is Nathaniel and fn Hackett, okay, and also Mike Lafleur.
[19:03] Speaker 2: What is going on with the hair with Mike Lafleur.
[19:06] Speaker 1: I mean, I know you have the head coach air cut.
[19:08] Speaker 1: I mean he's the other guy. Yeah, he can pull
[19:11] Speaker 1: it off.
[19:12] Speaker 2: Maybe he's jealous. I don't have that. I don't have
[19:14] Speaker 2: that beautiful head of hair myself. But he can pull
[19:17] Speaker 2: it off anyways. But Nathaniel Hackett, let's focus focus on
[19:20] Speaker 2: Nathaniel Hackett. He has never had success in the NFL.
[19:23] Speaker 2: So I just it's gonna be a really long year
[19:25] Speaker 2: for the Cardinals. For Jeremiah Love. Are the Cardinals even
[19:28] Speaker 2: in any way incentivized He's gonna he's gonna playing in
[19:31] Speaker 2: the same back with Carson Beck for the majority. Are
[19:34] Speaker 2: the Cardinals even incentivized at all to win this year
[19:38] Speaker 2: at all? Really? I mean, I don't think that they are.
[19:41] Speaker 2: So I don't think that they end up giving the
[19:43] Speaker 2: ball to Jeremiah Love as much as people would expect,
[19:46] Speaker 2: especially when you have Algier and James Connor. I don't
[19:49] Speaker 2: even know if they're gonna. I think they're gonna struggle
[19:51] Speaker 2: to get first out. It's just a really bad situation,
[19:53] Speaker 2: at least initially for Jeremiah Love.
[19:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, James Connor took a pay cut to stay in theory,
[19:59] Speaker 1: they could still cut it. They guaranteed him. I think
[20:01] Speaker 1: a couple million dollars is not much, but he took
[20:03] Speaker 1: a pay cut. You figure they're going to keep him.
[20:05] Speaker 1: They'll maybe try to trade Trey Benson at some point.
[20:08] Speaker 2: You're right.
[20:08] Speaker 1: The workload just isn't going to be what you want
[20:11] Speaker 1: for Jeremiah Love. Hopefully just hits the big plays and
[20:13] Speaker 1: he does it as a receiver Reggie Bush style, like
[20:17] Speaker 1: a bigger Reggie Bush. I had Jacoby Brissett as one
[20:22] Speaker 1: of my losers. So since we're talking Cardinals, just the
[20:25] Speaker 1: fact that they're already sprinkling out there among the media
[20:30] Speaker 1: and even some of the coaches of like Carson Beck
[20:32] Speaker 1: could be in the mix this season. You can just
[20:34] Speaker 1: see where this is going that at some point Carson
[20:37] Speaker 1: Beck is going to be starting games. Meanwhile Jacoby Brissett
[20:40] Speaker 1: is sitting out of camp. They're saying it's an open competition.
[20:45] Speaker 1: Now Gardner Minshew is in the mix. It's just bad
[20:48] Speaker 1: timing for Jacoby Brissett that you know, he played pretty
[20:51] Speaker 1: well late last season, but a new staff comes in.
[20:54] Speaker 1: I don't think he's as good a fit necessarily for
[20:56] Speaker 1: the Michael Fleur offense. They'd love a quarterback with like
[20:59] Speaker 1: a little bit of movement here and a little more
[21:02] Speaker 1: quick trigger, and he is not necessarily that. I don't
[21:04] Speaker 1: know if Gardner Minch is a great fit either, but
[21:07] Speaker 1: either way, the combination of it all makes Prisett a
[21:11] Speaker 1: loser and then makes us losers too, because I don't
[21:13] Speaker 1: want to be watching Carson Beck get killed by the
[21:16] Speaker 1: forty nine ers in the RAMS in like Week seven
[21:18] Speaker 1: and then think, man, we got ten games left of this.
[21:21] Speaker 1: But I could totally see that happening.
[21:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's probably what's going to happen. I'm
[21:25] Speaker 2: going to go with a winner. Okay, So you don't
[21:28] Speaker 2: always see a team commit to a second round quarterback
[21:33] Speaker 2: as they're like locked in guy even for the next season.
[21:35] Speaker 2: They're usually trying to add of bringing a veteran, you know,
[21:38] Speaker 2: even the year after they draft a quarterback in the
[21:41] Speaker 2: second round, or maybe they draft a quarterback in the
[21:43] Speaker 2: first round the following year after draft. Tyler Shuck, though
[21:46] Speaker 2: showed enough to them as a rookie was like nine
[21:49] Speaker 2: or ten starts last year that they didn't bring in anybody.
[21:54] Speaker 2: I mean, they brought in Zach Wilson, but he does
[21:57] Speaker 2: not count he'll be their third stringer. Spencer Rattler's returning
[22:00] Speaker 2: as the backup. You're getting back at healthy Chris Olive.
[22:03] Speaker 2: I know he had the blood clot thing, but Nick
[22:05] Speaker 2: Underhill reported he's gonna be good to go. They're not
[22:07] Speaker 2: worried about him. They bring in the number eight pick
[22:09] Speaker 2: in the draft, Jordan Tyson. They've got their entire offensive
[22:13] Speaker 2: line coming back healthy, had some injury issues last year,
[22:17] Speaker 2: and they added David Edwards from the Bills. So I mean,
[22:21] Speaker 2: you're talking about a lot of talent on their front
[22:24] Speaker 2: five right now. They've got one, two, three former first
[22:27] Speaker 2: round picks, a former second round pick, and Eric McCoy
[22:30] Speaker 2: and then David Edwards the big ticket addition at left guard.
[22:34] Speaker 2: This could be a really fun offense this year. Also,
[22:37] Speaker 2: they have they brought back Travis heat Or, they signed
[22:40] Speaker 2: Travis Etn and they're getting back Alvin Kamara as a
[22:43] Speaker 2: backup I think. So, I mean, there's just a lot
[22:46] Speaker 2: of talent around Tyler Shuck. He is set up to succeed.
[22:49] Speaker 2: I'm a big believer in Kellen Moore as well. Playing indoors,
[22:54] Speaker 2: you know, I think this could be a really fun,
[22:57] Speaker 2: productive season for Tyler Shuck.
[22:59] Speaker 1: He play. It doesn't take me wrong to realize long
[23:03] Speaker 1: to realize when I'm wrong on an evaluation. I was
[23:06] Speaker 1: really doubting Tyler Shuck, and within four or five games
[23:10] Speaker 1: you could see like he's going to have a long
[23:12] Speaker 1: career at worst, and I think he could be a
[23:14] Speaker 1: plus starter. I think for this season only, I would
[23:19] Speaker 1: take him over cam Ward and Jackson Dart as the
[23:22] Speaker 1: class of twenty twenty five guys. I think he just
[23:26] Speaker 1: does pro stuff. He gets through his reads really quickly.
[23:28] Speaker 1: The arm is more than good enough. If there's a
[23:31] Speaker 1: if there's an IT quarterback having a little bit of it,
[23:34] Speaker 1: I mean he he showed it. I think in some
[23:36] Speaker 1: late game situations, some comeback situations. The only knit I
[23:40] Speaker 1: would pick with you, Silva, is you were really stretching
[23:43] Speaker 1: it out to call, you know, the Caesar Ruiz former
[23:46] Speaker 1: first round pick. True, he is a former first round pick.
[23:49] Speaker 1: I'm not considering him a plus on that offensive line,
[23:52] Speaker 1: but the rest of the offensive line is no.
[23:54] Speaker 2: Actually, Brandon Torne we talked about that too, because I
[23:56] Speaker 2: was hyping up the Saints offensive line to him, and
[24:00] Speaker 2: he expressed the same concerns about Caesar Ruiz's He's probably
[24:03] Speaker 2: the low point on the offensive line, but I know
[24:07] Speaker 2: Thorn thinks that they could be like a top ten,
[24:08] Speaker 2: top twelve unit, so I will go with that. Also,
[24:12] Speaker 2: Tyler Shuck can run. Tyler Shuck in college, that was
[24:15] Speaker 2: not a part of his college profile. But then if
[24:17] Speaker 2: you looked at his combine numbers, he was like really athletic,
[24:20] Speaker 2: and they let him run last year. I mean, he
[24:23] Speaker 2: could run for like thirty thirty five yards a game.
[24:25] Speaker 2: That's really big in fantasy. And also it's just it
[24:28] Speaker 2: can be really debilitated, deflating to a defense. You know,
[24:31] Speaker 2: it's third down, you got him in you know, third
[24:34] Speaker 2: and seven. You think you're gonna you know, force the
[24:37] Speaker 2: turnover on downs and or you know, get the takeaway
[24:40] Speaker 2: or just get the ball back forced to punt. Tyler
[24:42] Speaker 2: Shuck can run for those seven yards. That can be
[24:44] Speaker 2: really deflating to the defense. I agree.
[24:47] Speaker 1: He reminds me a little as an athlete of Daniel Jones,
[24:51] Speaker 1: where I like, he's not gonna run around you or anything,
[24:54] Speaker 1: but just the straight line speed. He actually probably is
[24:58] Speaker 1: a little more flexible than than Daniel Jones, but he
[25:02] Speaker 1: made important plays with his leg. You're absolutely right actually,
[25:04] Speaker 1: I'll go to Daniel Jones. He's one of my winners.
[25:06] Speaker 1: I just thought coming off to the Achilles, we'll have
[25:12] Speaker 1: to see how it actually looks, because we heard, you know,
[25:15] Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins is doing well and Aaron Rodgers was doing
[25:18] Speaker 1: well when they were coming off, and then they just
[25:19] Speaker 1: did not have it. He's obviously much younger, but he's
[25:22] Speaker 1: ahead of pace of where I thought he'd be. We're
[25:24] Speaker 1: at the point now where it'd be very surprising if
[25:27] Speaker 1: he doesn't start Week one, which I would not have
[25:29] Speaker 1: expected coming into the offseason. So just feels like a
[25:34] Speaker 1: reason why they gave him that contract was they felt
[25:36] Speaker 1: good about the rehab and and for the Colts and
[25:39] Speaker 1: the people around that you're counting on for fantasy. I
[25:43] Speaker 1: think it's a good sign that Daniel Jones expected at
[25:45] Speaker 1: this point to start Week one and might be pretty
[25:48] Speaker 1: full go to even start training camp.
[25:51] Speaker 2: That would be nice. We have high hopes for Josh
[25:54] Speaker 2: Downs to take a step this season. We see, you know,
[25:58] Speaker 2: Michael Pittman got moved and Alec Pierce coming off maybe
[26:04] Speaker 2: more extensive ankle surgery than was expected, and so maybe
[26:08] Speaker 2: we're hoping that Josh Downs can move in maybe even
[26:11] Speaker 2: lead the Colts in receiving.
[26:12] Speaker 1: Let's go this year that is all time. Not all time,
[26:17] Speaker 1: but one of my favorite sleeper picks certainly this year
[26:21] Speaker 1: is Josh Downs in fantasy always like.
[26:23] Speaker 2: The little guys. Rosenthal, I remember you were first on
[26:26] Speaker 2: Eddie Royal back in the day.
[26:29] Speaker 1: He's dynamic. I don't think people realize. I used to
[26:31] Speaker 1: say this about Alec Pierce that no matter how good
[26:33] Speaker 1: you think he is, he's better. I think the same
[26:35] Speaker 1: is true for Josh Downs. He just needs to say healthy.
[26:37] Speaker 1: In fact, I would expect him to lead that that
[26:39] Speaker 1: team in reception certainly. I don't know if it'll be
[26:41] Speaker 1: in yards, but I would throw Pierce up there as
[26:44] Speaker 1: a loser. They kind of go yea hand in hand
[26:46] Speaker 1: Downs as a winner and Alec Pierce as a mini
[26:49] Speaker 1: camp and offseason loser. Because we just never expected this
[26:52] Speaker 1: surgery to come up, and it sounds like it's ligaments.
[26:55] Speaker 1: He tried to avoid it. He's not going to be
[26:57] Speaker 1: ready during the preseason. I think week one is very
[26:59] Speaker 1: much question for Alec Pierce, the guy that really relies
[27:02] Speaker 1: on his speed. So that's you know, while we're talking Colts,
[27:06] Speaker 1: to me, a mini camp loser. Do you what do
[27:09] Speaker 1: you think about Tyler Warren this season for fantasy?
[27:12] Speaker 2: Yeah? I like him a lot. He's a stud. You know,
[27:15] Speaker 2: the history of dudes that have won Macki Awards is
[27:18] Speaker 2: really really good. I know it's just a college award,
[27:21] Speaker 2: but he was a Mackie Award winner and those guys
[27:25] Speaker 2: have awesome track records. So yeah, I love Tyler Warren.
[27:29] Speaker 2: Absolute baller, tight end What is he? Three?
[27:32] Speaker 1: Four?
[27:33] Speaker 2: I think he's tight end five for me. I have
[27:36] Speaker 2: Kyle Pitts ahead of him, another Mackie Award winner, and
[27:39] Speaker 2: that is very controversial. Levitan hates it.
[27:43] Speaker 1: I hate it too, Okay.
[27:45] Speaker 2: Kyle Pitts had eighty eight catches last year in one
[27:47] Speaker 2: hundred and eighteen targets.
[27:48] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, what's a different offense. He's just he's just
[27:54] Speaker 1: been inconsistent. The argument for it, I think he took
[27:57] Speaker 1: a step last year. Yeah, I think that's fair. And
[28:00] Speaker 1: I think the argument for him is that they're going
[28:04] Speaker 1: to be a high volume in terms of pass attempts offense.
[28:07] Speaker 1: I think with stefanskiin just a lot of short passes.
[28:09] Speaker 1: So yeah, PPR League like seven yard catches by Kyle
[28:14] Speaker 1: Pitts I'm going to give you another winner me my
[28:18] Speaker 1: Top one O one list. I won. We're down to
[28:21] Speaker 1: only eleven players left on my top one O one list,
[28:25] Speaker 1: so I consider that a win that just you know
[28:27] Speaker 1: the NFL is just ticking these guys off the board.
[28:29] Speaker 1: Cam Jordan is the latest one to go and a
[28:32] Speaker 1: half in a handful of the guys that are still
[28:34] Speaker 1: on the list that didn't get signed, like Taylor Decker,
[28:38] Speaker 1: Jimmy g Or at the very end, I think they're retiring.
[28:40] Speaker 1: So I don't even count that. But here are some
[28:42] Speaker 1: of the players. It was more of an excuse to
[28:44] Speaker 1: mention to the audience who is unsigned and give me
[28:48] Speaker 1: any thoughts if you have on any of these players
[28:50] Speaker 1: that stand out to you. Joey Bosa is out there.
[28:52] Speaker 1: I think he could retire potentially. Stefan Diggs and deebo
[28:55] Speaker 1: are the two from a wide receiver perspective that are
[28:59] Speaker 1: most compelling. On defense, you have Hassan Redick, Trevon Diggs,
[29:02] Speaker 1: Jodevian Clowney figures the land on a team eventually. Darren
[29:05] Speaker 1: Waller looked pretty good last year when he played, but
[29:07] Speaker 1: he's still out there unsigned. Diggs is probably the one
[29:12] Speaker 1: I'm looking at out of all those guys where he
[29:15] Speaker 1: could actually impact, like a fantasy outlook, even if you're
[29:18] Speaker 1: not drafting stuff on Diggs early or maybe even at all,
[29:22] Speaker 1: like he'll impact a room and in the right spot,
[29:24] Speaker 1: he could be like a good NFL third receiver.
[29:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, I totally agree, and I think that maybe partly
[29:31] Speaker 2: what has contributed to Stephan Diggs not so far signing
[29:34] Speaker 2: is the weird off the field stuff that's been going on.
[29:37] Speaker 2: I try to not pay attention to. I'll I have
[29:39] Speaker 2: to pay attention to it a little bit, but I
[29:41] Speaker 2: don't know the stuff on TMZ and all that.
[29:43] Speaker 1: They're human. They you should be paying attention this. The
[29:46] Speaker 1: NFL teams are paying attention. But to that point, you know,
[29:49] Speaker 1: as I just know.
[29:50] Speaker 2: That there's off all I need to know as a
[29:52] Speaker 2: fantasy analyst is that there's off field stuff going on,
[29:56] Speaker 2: and eventually he will get signed. That that's all I
[29:58] Speaker 2: need to know.
[29:58] Speaker 1: Well, the NFL, you know, essentially cleared him that you know,
[30:04] Speaker 1: he the charges were dropped in the NFL confirmed that
[30:07] Speaker 1: he's not going to be suspended under the Personal Conduct Policy,
[30:12] Speaker 1: so he is clear to sign Somewhere, I'm not sure
[30:15] Speaker 1: what team that could be. It might be a team
[30:18] Speaker 1: that has an injury in the preseason. If the Texans
[30:20] Speaker 1: lost someone, you know, he has familiarity there, that's where
[30:23] Speaker 1: you look to first. I don't think Buffalo would want
[30:25] Speaker 1: him back again. All right, it's time for the offseason
[30:30] Speaker 1: ride along presented by Toyota. Who else you got for
[30:33] Speaker 1: a winner or loser?
[30:35] Speaker 2: Oh, Basehal Tutin, let's go. So I was like pretty
[30:40] Speaker 2: high on Baseheal Tuton entering last season. I thought he
[30:43] Speaker 2: had a sort of disappointing first season. He didn't even
[30:46] Speaker 2: get to four hundred total yards from scrimmage, and so
[30:52] Speaker 2: I don't know, I just I kind of lowered my expectations.
[30:55] Speaker 2: And then when they signed Chris Roder, they tried to
[30:57] Speaker 2: sign JK. Dobbins, but JK. Dobbins went back to Denver.
[31:00] Speaker 2: They wanted JK Dobbs. Then they settled for Chris Rodriguez,
[31:03] Speaker 2: who knows Liam Cohen from Kentucky. But Chris Rodriguez is
[31:07] Speaker 2: very limited. First of all, he's really not a factor
[31:10] Speaker 2: at all in the passing game. I think he can run.
[31:11] Speaker 2: He can run the rock. I mean, the average four
[31:13] Speaker 2: and a half yards per carry last year in Washington.
[31:16] Speaker 2: But that's all he is. You know, he's an early
[31:18] Speaker 2: down grinder, and he pops up with this injury. He
[31:22] Speaker 2: misses everything in the offseason, so he's not even having
[31:26] Speaker 2: the capability to show the coaching staff that he could
[31:30] Speaker 2: maybe be a factor, you know, as a pass blocker
[31:32] Speaker 2: in or pass receiver. So it's been baseall Toton eating
[31:35] Speaker 2: that up. Lequin Allen returns, but he's sort of like
[31:38] Speaker 2: a samaj p RN sort of player where the he
[31:42] Speaker 2: might play a decent amount of snatch, but the team
[31:43] Speaker 2: is really not going to try to get him the ball.
[31:45] Speaker 2: Baseall Tuton is really explosive coming out of Virginia Tech.
[31:49] Speaker 2: He ran four three to two. He's got a lot
[31:52] Speaker 2: of dynamic ability. He just needs to stay healthy, earn
[31:56] Speaker 2: the trust of the coaching staff. Having all these reps
[31:58] Speaker 2: in the offseason I think can help contribute toward him
[32:02] Speaker 2: carving out like a clear cut, potentially clear cut lead
[32:05] Speaker 2: back role for an above average offense.
[32:09] Speaker 1: Yeah, we are part of the Tuton hive here at
[32:12] Speaker 1: NFL Daily. I think his tape last year was better
[32:15] Speaker 1: than the number showed. He was always in a lot
[32:17] Speaker 1: of short yard situations, which kind of depressed his average,
[32:20] Speaker 1: but just the burst, the juice that he has is obvious,
[32:25] Speaker 1: and yeah, I think that's a good call. And yet
[32:26] Speaker 1: he was not the official offseason MVP according to John Shipley,
[32:32] Speaker 1: who covers the Jaguars, that was my guy, Brian Thomas,
[32:35] Speaker 1: who gets an offseason winner for me. I've talked about
[32:38] Speaker 1: him a lot this offseason. I don't want to keep
[32:40] Speaker 1: repeating myself, but it does well.
[32:42] Speaker 2: He broke he broke our collective hearts last year.
[32:44] Speaker 1: Yes, I think the light bulb has gone back on here.
[32:48] Speaker 1: He gets the offense that he's in. And Liam Cohen,
[32:51] Speaker 1: who is not that generous with praise, like he speaks
[32:56] Speaker 1: the truth, has just been saying all off season how
[33:00] Speaker 1: Thomas is dominating, and it's supposedly at practice he's just
[33:04] Speaker 1: been lighting it up and he has loved everything he saw.
[33:07] Speaker 1: And so when you get one wrong, Silva, you know
[33:10] Speaker 1: this as a fantasy and analyst, you can either back
[33:14] Speaker 1: off if what you see really worries you, or as
[33:18] Speaker 1: a watch on YouTube a nice clip of Thomas weaving
[33:21] Speaker 1: through a defense at practice, or you could do a
[33:24] Speaker 1: little dollar cost averaging stick with him if you thought
[33:28] Speaker 1: he was a top ten guy, last year. Now he's
[33:30] Speaker 1: going in like wide receiver twenty five or something. Give
[33:34] Speaker 1: me some of that and just go back to the
[33:35] Speaker 1: Well that's what I'm doing.
[33:38] Speaker 2: Man, I don't know what to do. I don't know
[33:40] Speaker 2: what he's like. One of the hardest dudes to rank.
[33:42] Speaker 1: No, because you do have aggressive, be aggressive.
[33:45] Speaker 2: I mean maybe they do have Parker Washington, they do
[33:50] Speaker 2: have Jacoby Myers. They do have two tight ends. Now
[33:53] Speaker 2: after they drafted the kid out of Texasing in the
[33:55] Speaker 2: second round to go with Brenton Strange, you know, I
[33:59] Speaker 2: just ah, you.
[34:01] Speaker 1: Know what they have to worry about that they have
[34:03] Speaker 1: Brian Thomas Junior, the most talented player of all those guys.
[34:06] Speaker 2: You are not worried right about that?
[34:08] Speaker 1: And he's going and he's going later in drafts, like
[34:11] Speaker 1: way later. Him and Josh Downs are probably my two
[34:14] Speaker 1: favorite receivers. I would say in Fantasy to go get.
[34:16] Speaker 1: And that was the off season ride along presented by Toyota.
[34:20] Speaker 1: Because when people are the destination, your ride is important.
[34:23] Speaker 1: Learn more at Toyota dot com and find the vehicle
[34:27] Speaker 1: that fits your people. Do you have anyone else that
[34:30] Speaker 1: you really want to go for? I have a few
[34:32] Speaker 1: for a speed round here. But if you have any
[34:35] Speaker 1: that are burning a hole in your pocket that you
[34:37] Speaker 1: want to get out there.
[34:38] Speaker 2: I really like the landing spot. I'll burn out some
[34:41] Speaker 2: a couple a couple guys that I like, just real quick.
[34:44] Speaker 2: Chig a con quo who widely has fifty plus catches
[34:47] Speaker 2: in three straight seasons lands in Washington. There is a cravass,
[34:53] Speaker 2: a grand canyon of opportunity behind Terry McLaurin in Washington,
[34:58] Speaker 2: and Jaden Daniels has shown that he can be an
[35:01] Speaker 2: elevator of talent around him. Ryan Floornoy, you know, I
[35:08] Speaker 2: think that he might be good. You know, he had
[35:10] Speaker 2: two games over one hundred plus yards last year. He
[35:13] Speaker 2: returns George Pickens, you know, he's kind of a wild card,
[35:16] Speaker 2: you know. Ceedee Lamb has struggled with injuries in the past.
[35:20] Speaker 2: Ryan Florinoy returning as the Cowboys clear cut number three receiver.
[35:24] Speaker 2: I think he's a player that could take off in
[35:27] Speaker 2: a pass heavy offense and then a Mecca Agbuka no more.
[35:31] Speaker 2: Mike Evans. I don't know what Chris Godwin has left
[35:34] Speaker 2: in the tank. They brought back cade Otten, but he's,
[35:37] Speaker 2: you know, kind of a jag and I think that
[35:40] Speaker 2: the season parted maybe for a Mecca ag Buka, who
[35:44] Speaker 2: was awesome in the first six or seven games of
[35:46] Speaker 2: last season, then he got a hamstring injury and Baker
[35:49] Speaker 2: wasn't playing well. This is the year that Amecca Agbuka,
[35:52] Speaker 2: sort of like his former college teammate JSN, leapt to
[35:56] Speaker 2: one hundred catches in his second season. A Mecca Agbuka,
[35:59] Speaker 2: who profiled very similarly to JSN coming out of Ohio State,
[36:03] Speaker 2: could take that leap into the hunter catch territory this year.
[36:06] Speaker 1: I just you hurt my feelings. I had to make
[36:09] Speaker 1: a face calling katat and a jag. I mean, that
[36:11] Speaker 1: man has a family and that man most importantly landed
[36:14] Speaker 1: in the top twenty of my free agents lists. Maybe
[36:18] Speaker 1: for fantasy he's more of a jag, but I think
[36:20] Speaker 1: he's a good player. Kate Atten you can block, you
[36:23] Speaker 1: can do everything. It's you're saying, you know, it's everything's
[36:26] Speaker 1: on the menu. With Kate Aten. You can run any
[36:28] Speaker 1: type of offense you want. Why do you gotta take
[36:30] Speaker 1: a shot at Kate Atene.
[36:33] Speaker 2: A jack of many trades, a master of none, a jag.
[36:37] Speaker 1: No no, a good blocker, good good player. Everyone everyone's
[36:42] Speaker 1: looking for Kate Attens. They're like reaching for prospects in
[36:45] Speaker 1: the second round, hoping in a best case scenario that
[36:49] Speaker 1: they get Kate aten a right. But it's a fair
[36:51] Speaker 1: point on the fantasy of it all, he's not going
[36:54] Speaker 1: to get you excited. I like all those shout outs.
[36:58] Speaker 1: I'll throw out eighty Mitchell as a guy that Zach
[37:00] Speaker 1: Rosenblatt of The Athletic mentioned has had a really nice offseason.
[37:04] Speaker 1: I don't know if he's going to be like a
[37:05] Speaker 1: fantasy guy, but I have believed in his talent at
[37:09] Speaker 1: the NFL level. I think he's done more than people realize.
[37:11] Speaker 1: And Gino Smith was really talking him up as being
[37:14] Speaker 1: a special type of talent and kind of in that
[37:16] Speaker 1: same bucket, there was a quote from Dan Campbell, I'm
[37:19] Speaker 1: curious what you think of Isaac t Slaw just saying
[37:22] Speaker 1: that Tuslaw to him feels like a veteran. He knows everything.
[37:26] Speaker 1: And you think about it, like Tuslaw is starting for
[37:29] Speaker 1: that team that is a loaded group. It is a
[37:33] Speaker 1: really nice spot to be a starting player when there's
[37:36] Speaker 1: so much attention going to aman Ra and Jamir Gibbs
[37:39] Speaker 1: and Sam Laporta, Duslaw is like the last guy you
[37:41] Speaker 1: have to worry about, and now it you know, with
[37:44] Speaker 1: Cleiff Raymond not there, it seems like it's a small thing.
[37:47] Speaker 1: But Taslaw is going to be out there, and I
[37:48] Speaker 1: think they really like Isaac Taslaw.
[37:50] Speaker 2: Our projections team has Isaac Taslaw with the highest touchdown
[37:55] Speaker 2: rate per target in the NFL this year. Now we
[38:01] Speaker 2: don't have him for many targets, but the question for
[38:05] Speaker 2: me with Isaac Teslaw is, you know, he had this
[38:09] Speaker 2: like defined role last year. He was like a red
[38:11] Speaker 2: zone specialist. Coming out of college. He was an absolute
[38:15] Speaker 2: freak of an athlete. I mean, just a total, total freak.
[38:19] Speaker 2: Can he expand what he does and become more than
[38:23] Speaker 2: that and you know, earn like a fifty five to
[38:28] Speaker 2: sixty percent snapshare in his second season, because then I
[38:33] Speaker 2: think that we could be talking about him as maybe
[38:35] Speaker 2: like the next Alec Pierce or something along those lines.
[38:40] Speaker 2: But I don't know if he can get to that point,
[38:42] Speaker 2: we'll see.
[38:44] Speaker 1: I know I didn't even mention Jameson Williams in there
[38:47] Speaker 1: as a player that defenses has to worry about. But yeah,
[38:50] Speaker 1: it was more of like the vibe from Campbell and
[38:52] Speaker 1: that I think he was swimming a little bit coming from,
[38:56] Speaker 1: you know, a very different offense in college, and the
[39:00] Speaker 1: he said through most of his rookie year. But Campbell's
[39:02] Speaker 1: saying like it started to click for him late where
[39:04] Speaker 1: I think he really understood what was going on around
[39:06] Speaker 1: him and now they feel more confident. My final winner
[39:09] Speaker 1: was c J. Stroud. I'm just buying the haircut and
[39:12] Speaker 1: that the body looks slimmed down and the way he's talking,
[39:15] Speaker 1: the way everyone's talking. I'm very self selective as long
[39:19] Speaker 1: as it confirms my priors. I'm into offseason talk, and
[39:23] Speaker 1: I do think CJ. Stroud is going to show up
[39:26] Speaker 1: and go earn himself a nice big contract. Have you
[39:29] Speaker 1: stayed on the CJ. Stroud bandwagon?
[39:32] Speaker 2: I have not, And that's not necessarily because of him
[39:36] Speaker 2: as a player, although he hasn't really helped himself in
[39:38] Speaker 2: a couple of years. That's because the defense is just
[39:41] Speaker 2: I mean, the team is built around its defense.
[39:44] Speaker 1: And so where is he going to go in fantasy dress?
[39:46] Speaker 1: Is he even going to get drafted?
[39:48] Speaker 2: I mean he's like a quarter He's like a low
[39:51] Speaker 2: end quarterback two slash quarterback three like quarterback twenty three
[39:54] Speaker 2: to twenty five somewhere in that range.
[39:57] Speaker 1: Give me me a top five quarterback or whatever it's
[40:00] Speaker 1: going to be, and give me c J. Stroud in
[40:03] Speaker 1: round thirteen. And I'm I'm loving what CJ. Stroud is
[40:06] Speaker 1: going to give me as a consistent I think.
[40:09] Speaker 2: You know this is why you had to retire from
[40:11] Speaker 2: the industry. You had to retire early.
[40:13] Speaker 1: He could have a Dak Prescott like career. He's just
[40:16] Speaker 1: got to get like the right the right offense.
[40:18] Speaker 2: Speaking of speaking of quarterbacks, how about Sam Donald?
[40:21] Speaker 1: Hey? Now, yeah, years ago you came in on this
[40:27] Speaker 1: show and, uh, you just talked up Sam Donald as
[40:31] Speaker 1: your one big sleeper. What year was that?
[40:33] Speaker 2: Was that?
[40:33] Speaker 1: The Panthers? Ye? And you've never let me forget it.
[40:37] Speaker 1: We've been battling over Sam Donald. I almost got personal
[40:40] Speaker 1: at times.
[40:40] Speaker 2: I liked that, Well it did for you. It never
[40:42] Speaker 2: got personal for me. I love that Jeremiah continued that
[40:46] Speaker 2: because Jeremiah wuld would jab at you about that too. Yeah, yeah, Well.
[40:50] Speaker 1: Sam Donald won the Super Bowl? Did that feel like
[40:53] Speaker 1: uh redemption? Do you even have a team, Silba, do
[40:57] Speaker 1: you have an NFL team? So? Did that feel like
[41:00] Speaker 1: your team winning the super Bowl just finally been proven. Right,
[41:03] Speaker 1: you won.
[41:05] Speaker 2: Because I was on the Patriots to win. Unfortunately.
[41:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, that was dumb.
[41:09] Speaker 2: I know, I know that.
[41:11] Speaker 1: At least I have an excuse. You know where I
[41:13] Speaker 1: grew up and everything wrapping up with some losers. I
[41:16] Speaker 1: have some losers. I don't know if you have any more.
[41:19] Speaker 1: Terry and Arnold of the Lions. This isn't really fantasy related,
[41:22] Speaker 1: but I've noticed that they said he's been practicing with
[41:24] Speaker 1: the reserves. That's an interesting former first round pick behind
[41:28] Speaker 1: DJ Reid, rock Yessen and Khalil Dorsey and Dan Campbell's
[41:31] Speaker 1: been talking about wanting competition. He's had some off field stuff,
[41:35] Speaker 1: so they might be punishing him a little bit for that.
[41:38] Speaker 1: So that caught my eye. And then I wanted to
[41:40] Speaker 1: read this quote to you from Zach Jackson of The
[41:43] Speaker 1: Athletic but this was on his podcast, Zach Jackson and Friends.
[41:47] Speaker 1: I almost wanted to ask him permission to just play
[41:49] Speaker 1: it because it was just delivered so well, but I'll
[41:52] Speaker 1: try to do him justice. This is him. This is
[41:56] Speaker 1: quoted from someone who watched all the OTAs about Deshaun Watson.
[42:00] Speaker 1: Watson definitely had more highlight throws. From these six or
[42:04] Speaker 1: seven practices we saw almost every one of those was
[42:08] Speaker 1: followed up by a bad miss. He's not accurate, he
[42:12] Speaker 1: doesn't take care of the ball, he doesn't process, he's
[42:16] Speaker 1: not a good player.
[42:18] Speaker 2: I was.
[42:22] Speaker 1: And he said it with such disdain in his voice.
[42:25] Speaker 1: Just like they wanted Deshaun Watson to win this job
[42:30] Speaker 1: going into the spring. They made it very clear through
[42:32] Speaker 1: this Mary kay Cabot report, through to what Todd Mankin said,
[42:35] Speaker 1: and based on apparently how he's played, Todd Monkin just
[42:38] Speaker 1: couldn't give him the job because Fitter was getting a
[42:42] Speaker 1: little bit better. But more importantly, Deshaun Watson just didn't
[42:46] Speaker 1: look like a good football player like he hasn't for
[42:48] Speaker 1: the last three or four years.
[42:49] Speaker 2: Well, I'm kind of hoping that they give s a
[42:54] Speaker 2: chance this year and then, you know, if it doesn't
[42:58] Speaker 2: go right with him, Taylan Green, how about some Taylor
[43:03] Speaker 2: Green action maybe down the stretch of the season. Let
[43:07] Speaker 2: me add one more guy, all right, Marshawn Lloyd, who
[43:10] Speaker 2: has been injured just constantly for the last two seasons
[43:13] Speaker 2: since entering, you know, entering the NFL. But man, we
[43:18] Speaker 2: know he's got a lot of ability. He ran four
[43:20] Speaker 2: four at two hundred and twenty pounds coming out of USC,
[43:22] Speaker 2: he could catch passes and he's been healthy this offseason,
[43:25] Speaker 2: and Josh Jacobs has been dealing with his own off
[43:27] Speaker 2: field stuff. And if you look at the quotes from
[43:30] Speaker 2: Ben Sermons, the Packers RB's coach, Matt Lafleur, and Jordan Love,
[43:37] Speaker 2: they all just glowing praise of Marshawn Lloyd, who has
[43:41] Speaker 2: earned the nickname the Yeat Cannon, Yeah, which I thought
[43:46] Speaker 2: was really really interesting, and I'm hoping that that will stick.
[43:50] Speaker 2: And I've been drafting Marshawn Lloyd late in my Best
[43:53] Speaker 2: Ball drafts because he's got some upside And who knows
[43:56] Speaker 2: what's gonna happen with Josh Jacobs the yeat Cannon love that.
[44:00] Speaker 1: I have been watching that situation wondering what they're gonna do,
[44:05] Speaker 1: because Marshall Lloyd is a nice lottery ticket or even
[44:10] Speaker 1: better of someone who could have a really high ceiling,
[44:12] Speaker 1: but he just hasn't been able to stay on the field.
[44:14] Speaker 1: And without really knowing, like in depth, how the NFL
[44:19] Speaker 1: is going to handle this, I think there's a strong
[44:22] Speaker 1: chance that Josh Jacobs is not on the field for
[44:24] Speaker 1: the Packers to start the year, considering the severity of
[44:27] Speaker 1: the domestic violence charges against him, and so you know
[44:31] Speaker 1: that's a team that's trying to win. Will they add
[44:33] Speaker 1: to that position? Would would it be Lloyd something to watch?
[44:36] Speaker 1: I also think in terms of losers while we're at
[44:39] Speaker 1: the Packers, like there's no Mica or in the early
[44:43] Speaker 1: portion of this season when we started the off season,
[44:46] Speaker 1: everyone's ahead of schedule except for the ones that aren't.
[44:49] Speaker 1: And the two guys that really stand out that I
[44:51] Speaker 1: think are listeners if they haven't been paying attention on
[44:54] Speaker 1: the day to day basis here that I'm worried about
[44:57] Speaker 1: in terms of their recoveries. Michael Parsons, which is not
[44:59] Speaker 1: a surprise that he would miss the start of the season,
[45:01] Speaker 1: but it really sounds like that's where it's trending that
[45:03] Speaker 1: will be on the pup list. It might be a
[45:05] Speaker 1: big chunk of the season coming off his injury. And
[45:07] Speaker 1: then Malik Neighbors, which I think is a little more
[45:09] Speaker 1: disappointing because he had a follow up surgery and I
[45:14] Speaker 1: just don't know when he's going to be back. But
[45:15] Speaker 1: the way John Harbaugh has talked about Milik Neighbors's injury.
[45:19] Speaker 1: It's going to be very difficult, I think, to count
[45:22] Speaker 1: on him to be a true wide receiver one for
[45:25] Speaker 1: the Giants, but even you know, be on the field
[45:27] Speaker 1: and be productive necessary, I don't know if that's going
[45:29] Speaker 1: to happen in the first month two months of the season.
[45:31] Speaker 1: I'm not really sure what we're getting. So just a
[45:34] Speaker 1: couple of final losers. Unfortunately, is kind of that that
[45:36] Speaker 1: Packers defense who doesn't really have any edges other than
[45:39] Speaker 1: Micah Parsons and then yeah, the Giants receiver group and
[45:44] Speaker 1: Jackson Dark too, because he really could use Malik Neighbors
[45:46] Speaker 1: out there. We are you pricing Neighbors these days?
[45:52] Speaker 2: Oh man? Like I keep moving them down, you know what.
[45:55] Speaker 2: You know what scared me about him too, is like
[45:58] Speaker 2: the day after the news kind of came out and
[46:00] Speaker 2: Melite Neighbors was not doing very good in his recovery,
[46:03] Speaker 2: the Giants went out and literally signed three receivers on
[46:05] Speaker 2: the same day, ju Smith, Schuster, Braxon Barrios, and Odell Beckham.
[46:09] Speaker 2: And I'm like, gosh, they are telling us we are
[46:13] Speaker 2: expecting Melik Neighbors to at very least begin the season
[46:17] Speaker 2: on the reserve pup at very least.
[46:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that. I think that's fair. And he's
[46:22] Speaker 1: such a unique dynamic athlete that really wins with his
[46:27] Speaker 1: flexibility and athleticism even more than he ever did with
[46:30] Speaker 1: his route running. And so you do wonder a little
[46:32] Speaker 1: bit how well, if he's not one hundred percent, how
[46:35] Speaker 1: he will win right off the bat, and so that
[46:38] Speaker 1: that's a big time concern for him for the Giants.
[46:41] Speaker 1: I thought about putting bow next year, but I think
[46:43] Speaker 1: he's going to be fine. I'm a little worried that
[46:45] Speaker 1: he's always got these follow up surgeries, but I think
[46:48] Speaker 1: he's going to be fine ultimately. So he's not on
[46:50] Speaker 1: my list. No more losers. It's optimism season. We should
[46:54] Speaker 1: just be you know, talking all winners. Established the run
[46:58] Speaker 1: is such a big winner that you guys have a
[46:59] Speaker 1: freak company retreat. How happy are you.
[47:04] Speaker 2: That you you guys don't have one of those with
[47:06] Speaker 2: the shield?
[47:07] Speaker 1: I mean, no, we don't have a retreat. I'm happy
[47:10] Speaker 1: to be here doing NFL daily, with the NFL and
[47:14] Speaker 1: with iHeartMedia. But you went and you got entrepreneurial. You
[47:18] Speaker 1: left warider World back in the day and now you're
[47:21] Speaker 1: killing it. You got you got, you got enough dough
[47:24] Speaker 1: to have a company retreat and you got all these employees.
[47:26] Speaker 1: Congratulations seven Silva.
[47:28] Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you Greg Rosenthal. I could have could
[47:30] Speaker 2: not have done any of it with value, brother.
[47:32] Speaker 1: Yeah it was. It was fun to catch up and
[47:35] Speaker 1: talk fantasy. We'll be talking more fantasy as we get
[47:37] Speaker 1: closer to the season. Let's take a three day break
[47:40] Speaker 1: here on this feed. Thank you to Evan Silva for
[47:44] Speaker 1: joining me. Thanks to everyone obviously who checked out all
[47:47] Speaker 1: of our content this week, the flag football extravagans. I
[47:50] Speaker 1: want to point everyone back to that me and Jordan
[47:52] Speaker 1: Rodrigue back on Monday. That was fun. Patrick. On Tuesday,
[47:55] Speaker 1: we will be dropping in the feed a new time,
[47:57] Speaker 1: a Sunday evening show. We're ranking the top thirty two
[48:01] Speaker 1: receivers in the NFL. That's next on NFL Daily. See
[48:04] Speaker 1: you the
