[0:49] Speaker 1: but about eleven jaw dropping plays at wide receiver. How
[0:53] Speaker 1: about that as a season?
[0:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's icing. I don't even know if
[0:57] Speaker 3: that's icing. It's decoration.
[0:58] Speaker 1: Oh I think. But the cake is thero cornerback. Okay,
[1:02] Speaker 1: that's fair, let's just get into it. We taped the

[1:15] Speaker 1: at their training camp practices so far, so some notes,
[1:19] Speaker 1: some takeaways on all the NFC teams. We're doing the work,
[1:22] Speaker 1: we're digging through all the reporting, we're watching the press
[1:25] Speaker 1: conferences to get you up to date. Today is the
[1:28] Speaker 1: AFC and yes, we were live on Sunday night, and
[1:32] Speaker 1: you can join us live on Thursday night to do
[1:35] Speaker 1: some camp recaps and Hall of Fame game recap after
[1:39] Speaker 1: that ends around eight pm Eastern. Let's start with those Jaguars.
[1:42] Speaker 1: Why not Travis Hunter through the first four to five
[1:47] Speaker 1: days of training camp and as we're taping Monday, for
[1:50] Speaker 1: most teams in the NFL, it is the first day
[1:53] Speaker 1: that pads have come on, so that's a big day.
[1:55] Speaker 1: Although writers everyone gets excited the real football starts, including
[1:58] Speaker 1: in Jacksonville, but over the weekend and the pads weren't
[2:01] Speaker 1: on yet. But he had what John Shipley, our friend
[2:05] Speaker 1: at SI dot com who gets me up to date
[2:07] Speaker 1: on Jaguar just read his stuff and I feel like
[2:09] Speaker 1: I'm there, said it was Travis Hunter's best day as
[2:12] Speaker 1: a pro on the field. Not only two long catches
[2:16] Speaker 1: on offense and one that they had on video that
[2:19] Speaker 1: highlight grab where he just leaps up, but also a
[2:22] Speaker 1: really exciting interception of Trevor Lawrence where we're not a
[2:27] Speaker 1: great idea by Lawrence into coverage a lot of defenders there,
[2:30] Speaker 1: but a beautiful play where Travis Hunter steps in front
[2:33] Speaker 1: of the ball. And so so far through you know,
[2:35] Speaker 1: four or five days of camp, he's playing more defense
[2:39] Speaker 1: than offense. But I would say a significant amount of
[2:42] Speaker 1: offense each day. I even, you know, people are keeping
[2:45] Speaker 1: track of the snaps, it's probably about sixty five seventy
[2:48] Speaker 1: percent defense thirty thirty five percent offense. And so really

[3:15] Speaker 2: Gonna go nuts when you're out of the game and
[3:17] Speaker 2: just watching.
[3:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't just watch the game, that is Judy,
[3:20] Speaker 1: And yeah, he just wants to play as much as
[3:22] Speaker 1: humanly possible. And yeah, earlier in the interview he mentioned
[3:26] Speaker 1: the ten pounds of weight, and yet he seems to
[3:28] Speaker 1: be moving even faster, Like you can even see it
[3:31] Speaker 1: watching him last year. I mean, he he's a young kid,
[3:34] Speaker 1: you know, and he's growing into his body, and I'm
[3:37] Speaker 1: all in.
[3:37] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's very, very difficult to put on mass as
[3:42] Speaker 3: your Travis Hunter doing what he did in college. Like
[3:45] Speaker 3: it's exceedingly difficult to to take the time to eat enough, uh,
[3:50] Speaker 3: and then to do all of the things that he
[3:52] Speaker 3: was doing.
[3:52] Speaker 1: Plus like one hundred and twenty steps a game. You
[3:54] Speaker 1: got to lose some weight down that.
[3:55] Speaker 3: Well, and so like to get to this process that
[3:58] Speaker 3: to have the injury not getting a made Travis Hunter
[4:01] Speaker 3: better in no capacity. I will never ever say that,
[4:04] Speaker 3: but you could see the dedication that he takes in.
[4:07] Speaker 2: Devotion to training.
[4:08] Speaker 3: And I'm again, I don't know how much more emphatic
[4:11] Speaker 3: I could be about like my hopes for Travis Hunter.
[4:14] Speaker 3: I just hope that, you know, he's able to stay
[4:17] Speaker 3: out there on the field and you know, sometimes going
[4:19] Speaker 3: up for those fifty to fifty balls makes me a
[4:22] Speaker 3: little worried about.
[4:23] Speaker 1: And he caught about three of them on different sides
[4:26] Speaker 1: of the ball on Saturday, so that's really cool. I
[4:30] Speaker 1: like also that because of the roster construction, they needed
[4:32] Speaker 1: more on defense. I think he's cornerback one for that
[4:35] Speaker 1: team in the end and at wide receiver. Parker Washington,
[4:41] Speaker 1: you know, according to Shipley has probably been wide receiver
[4:44] Speaker 1: one just in terms of volume, and Jacoby Myers has
[4:47] Speaker 1: had a few drops and like off just slow start.
[4:49] Speaker 1: I'm not worried about Jacoby Myers. Brian Thomas is doing
[4:52] Speaker 1: Brian Thomas things. Hunter is going to be sprinkled in
[4:56] Speaker 1: a little more. What do you think of Parker Washington
[4:59] Speaker 1: and this offense being back like with so much depth.
[5:02] Speaker 1: You got Breton Strain, Now you've got a second round
[5:05] Speaker 1: tight end. You have layers to this offense.
[5:07] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very exciting.
[5:09] Speaker 3: You want to see how you know, in terms of
[5:13] Speaker 3: basal Tuton he's going to fill in for each hand,
[5:16] Speaker 3: but with Parker Washington number one thing, and you know,
[5:19] Speaker 3: shout out to Parker Washington. He joined us on the inside.
[5:21] Speaker 3: He's a great guest. Asked him potentially because he's going
[5:24] Speaker 3: to be unrestricted for your agent next year. I'd be
[5:28] Speaker 3: interested if to see if Gladstone is willing and the
[5:31] Speaker 3: Jags and Liam Coleman are willing to just put something
[5:33] Speaker 3: out there to go ahead and have Parker Washington here
[5:37] Speaker 3: long term because it does for you up to have
[5:39] Speaker 3: Travis Hunter play cornerback and not have all these reps
[5:44] Speaker 3: a wide receiver, and it seems like the money might
[5:47] Speaker 3: be there and it may not because it's going to
[5:48] Speaker 3: be crazy at the end of the year. Parker was
[5:50] Speaker 3: right season that he has it's going to be nuts.
[5:52] Speaker 3: He's going to be you know, chief or something. Who knows.
[5:55] Speaker 1: He was drafted in the sixth round and teams are
[5:58] Speaker 1: always trying to get discounts those late round picks, Like
[6:01] Speaker 1: he's not going to sign one of those Jalen Koker
[6:03] Speaker 1: tape contracts. At this point, he's gonna get paid. You mentioned,
[6:07] Speaker 1: you know, the rest of the offense, Basil Tuton. He
[6:12] Speaker 1: was declared like a big winner of the first week camp,
[6:14] Speaker 1: partly just because Chris Rodriguez hasn't been out there as much.
[6:17] Speaker 1: He's the other competition at running back, but he was
[6:20] Speaker 1: back in team drills. As we head into a new week,
[6:22] Speaker 1: they appear to maybe have a new starter at guard.
[6:25] Speaker 1: They paid Patrick McCary a lot of money last year,
[6:27] Speaker 1: but there's a young man, Wyatt Millam is taking the
[6:30] Speaker 1: first team reps. Well, mccary's getting over an injury and
[6:32] Speaker 1: he just might stay there. Two rookies that were taking
[6:36] Speaker 1: late in the draft, Josh Cameron and CJ. Williams, are
[6:39] Speaker 1: reportedly playing really well and look like they're gonna make
[6:41] Speaker 1: the roster. That's sort of what I was getting. What
[6:43] Speaker 1: is really deep does make you wonder a little bit
[6:45] Speaker 1: about if you were going to trade Brian Thomas junior
[6:48] Speaker 1: at some point like next year. That sort of depth
[6:50] Speaker 1: would make that easier to make happen. And then their
[6:54] Speaker 1: left tackle Cole Van Landon just wanted to mention he
[6:56] Speaker 1: was on the pup list. If you listen to Sunday Show,
[6:59] Speaker 1: you might have remembered Ben Johnson getting a little spicy
[7:02] Speaker 1: about how the Bears were regression candidates. Didn't exactly say
[7:06] Speaker 1: to Liam Cohen, keep my name out your mouth when
[7:08] Speaker 1: he started talking about Caleb Williams all over NFL dot com.
[7:11] Speaker 1: But here is that clip from Leam Cohen talking about
[7:15] Speaker 1: NFL dot com dot com and the great work that
[7:17] Speaker 1: our friends are doing over there.
[7:18] Speaker 2: You're right.
[7:19] Speaker 4: You know what I said to the staff the other
[7:20] Speaker 4: day was I go, guys, is the best part of
[7:23] Speaker 4: coaching the Jacksonville Jaguars. You don't have to make up

[7:56] Speaker 5: I'll see forty pictures of Caleb Williams and I won't
[7:59] Speaker 5: see single thing about any of our players on here.

[8:37] Speaker 3: And I guess that's that's not everybody. And you know,
[8:39] Speaker 3: Liam Cohen is very busy. He has a football team
[8:41] Speaker 3: to coach, so he may not be as a tune.
[8:45] Speaker 3: But there's the first, second, third, twenty ninth, twenty eighth.
[8:50] Speaker 3: I mean, I'm on NFL dot com, which the search feature, yeah,
[8:53] Speaker 3: can be very limited, but I'm I'm back. I'm all
[8:56] Speaker 3: the way through June twenty third. Okay, I don't see
[9:01] Speaker 3: a day where there wasn't some form of Jackson.
[9:02] Speaker 1: I don't see a lot of Jags though. And to
[9:05] Speaker 1: his point, there are a couple of Bears articles in
[9:08] Speaker 1: the stack right now, you know, talking about Luther Burden
[9:12] Speaker 1: and whatnot. We do have a team preview with Jaguars,
[9:15] Speaker 1: you're right. Lower down, we have browns covered. We have
[9:18] Speaker 1: some charge.
[9:21] Speaker 3: I just like that, like Harvest to perceive slight. They
[9:25] Speaker 3: are able to on any stretch. And Liam Cohen is
[9:27] Speaker 3: very gifted at that.
[9:28] Speaker 2: And here's the thing. I don't think he's pretending.
[9:31] Speaker 1: He genuinely seems annoyed all the time about the lack
[9:34] Speaker 1: like he I don't know, it's funny. I just like
[9:36] Speaker 1: this this long running bit that he has that no
[9:38] Speaker 1: one pays anything Jaguars. He's not totally wrong for such
[9:42] Speaker 1: a promising young team who won that many games last year.
[9:44] Speaker 1: They're relatively under the raidar, But who cares about who's
[9:47] Speaker 1: under the raider?
[9:48] Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think the people in the community who
[9:50] Speaker 3: see their their team shipped off all the time they
[9:53] Speaker 3: lose a home game, they feel a little bit slighter.
[9:55] Speaker 3: They live in the largest land mass city in the
[9:58] Speaker 3: United States of America and routinely get disregarded for areas
[10:02] Speaker 3: that don't necessarily have the size or maybe even the
[10:04] Speaker 3: cultural impact that Jacklville can have, which I think gets
[10:06] Speaker 3: slept on for him to capture that feeling that a
[10:09] Speaker 3: lot of people in that community have who are kind
[10:11] Speaker 3: of you, especially by the Jacksonville Sheriff's office, kind of
[10:13] Speaker 3: downtrodden upon.
[10:15] Speaker 2: They can feel that way.
[10:17] Speaker 3: I don't necessarily know that the jackson and there you
[10:20] Speaker 3: know that we have disregarded.
[10:22] Speaker 1: Them, not here on NFL Daily certainly. In fact, we
[10:26] Speaker 1: just spent ten minutes talking about the Jaguars and we're
[10:29] Speaker 1: hitting fifteen. We're hitting all sixteen teams. I can promise
[10:32] Speaker 1: you Jaguars fans, you got talked about more. And Liam,
[10:36] Speaker 1: I hope you see this. We had you on NFL Daily.
[10:38] Speaker 1: He was a great guest. No, you will be talked
[10:41] Speaker 1: about more on this particular episode, which includes every AFC
[10:45] Speaker 1: team more than any other team. We're not going that

[10:49] Speaker 1: in the AFC South. The Texans. The Texans signed Genevian Clowney.
[10:56] Speaker 1: I mentioned it briefly Sunday night, but we you know,
[10:59] Speaker 1: we were talking NFC five point five million. It's up
[11:02] Speaker 1: to eight million. Weirdly assigning. I think they kind of needed.
[11:07] Speaker 1: There was a huge drop. I know that sounds crazy
[11:09] Speaker 1: when they have the best edge rusher duo in the
[11:11] Speaker 1: entire NFL and Willie Anderson and Daniel Hunter, but the
[11:15] Speaker 1: fall off was crazy. They didn't they didn't have much
[11:17] Speaker 1: depth there and now you got Clowney coming off like
[11:19] Speaker 1: an eight and a half tax season. Returning to where
[11:23] Speaker 1: it all started, Patrick, the location of the first Texans
[11:28] Speaker 1: playoff victory in franchise history that I was at in
[11:32] Speaker 1: which no question about it. The MVP of that game
[11:36] Speaker 1: by far was Jadevian Clowney, which is why one of
[11:39] Speaker 1: many reasons why. And he also was like a second
[11:41] Speaker 1: team All Pro one year. Like people kind of sleeped
[11:43] Speaker 1: that he was very good for the Texans. It was
[11:45] Speaker 1: a good number one overall draftick. Very cool to see
[11:47] Speaker 1: him back with that team.
[11:48] Speaker 3: Yeah, and to the extent where I wondered if there
[11:51] Speaker 3: was any overlap between him and Dimico when Dimiko was playing,
[11:53] Speaker 3: but there was a three year gap because he had
[11:55] Speaker 3: left the Texans in twenty eleven and Clowney was drafted
[11:59] Speaker 3: in twenty fourteen. But obviously, you know, was a tuned
[12:02] Speaker 3: to the franchise during his time in Philly and then
[12:04] Speaker 3: his post playing coaching career, where one of the superpowers
[12:09] Speaker 3: of Jadevion Clowney was being able to kick inside and
[12:11] Speaker 3: not necessarily have any amount of like significant falloff when
[12:16] Speaker 3: being behaving as an interior rusher. And so the prospect
[12:20] Speaker 3: of not just having him come in in relief of
[12:23] Speaker 3: Hunter or Anderson, but to have all three of them
[12:25] Speaker 3: on the field. And again this isn't twenty sixteen Jadeveon Clowney,
[12:29] Speaker 3: but for four or five reps late in the game
[12:32] Speaker 3: when you're trying to throw the ball.
[12:33] Speaker 1: Yikes, I mean, he's a third best pass rusher. Was
[12:35] Speaker 1: still very productive the last few years. Never left Houston,
[12:39] Speaker 1: by the way, kept his home there throughout, like a
[12:41] Speaker 1: lot of players, players left Houston. They love living in Houston.
[12:44] Speaker 3: And you've remarked several times about how you like this,
[12:47] Speaker 3: like late Stage revs.
[12:50] Speaker 2: Yes is Late Career by Jadevion Clowney.
[12:53] Speaker 1: Where people say, oh, well, first of all, he had
[12:55] Speaker 1: a couple, he had like a microfractor surgery, had all
[12:57] Speaker 1: sorts of you know, physical problems. People said, you know, oh,
[12:59] Speaker 1: he love the game or whatever. I mean, he's still
[13:02] Speaker 1: loving that game thirteen years in. What a team might
[13:05] Speaker 1: have to pick them to make the Super Bowl. They
[13:08] Speaker 1: have a first round guard in Kayln Rutledge. Is that
[13:13] Speaker 1: the first day of training camp there was like a
[13:14] Speaker 1: highlight of him like blocking twenty yards downfield. Seth Payne,
[13:18] Speaker 1: who I listened to some of his YouTube content, has
[13:22] Speaker 1: noted the run game probably has stood out more than
[13:25] Speaker 1: anything that the run game looks a little more cohesive.
[13:28] Speaker 1: They're a little deeper on the offensive line, maybe understanding
[13:30] Speaker 1: what to do. David Montgomery reportedly looking pretty good in
[13:34] Speaker 1: pass pro and in the receiving game. And it's him
[13:36] Speaker 1: and Woody Marks one A, one B. You have Jayden
[13:39] Speaker 1: Higgins getting a lot of buzz potentially making a leap.
[13:41] Speaker 1: Tank Dell is out there ramping up, not doing everything
[13:45] Speaker 1: all the time, and we'll see if he's in there
[13:47] Speaker 1: with pads but doing teamwork like he's not that limited.
[13:50] Speaker 1: Jalen Noel, their second year receiver, has been out for
[13:53] Speaker 1: a few weeks. And then you throw in a this
[13:55] Speaker 1: rookie Marlin Klein, who the coaches are talking up just
[13:58] Speaker 1: in terms of guy that he moves different than the
[13:59] Speaker 1: rest of our tight ends. Little shot there at Dalton Schultz,
[14:02] Speaker 1: but yeah, add it all up and it's it's potential
[14:05] Speaker 1: for a more dynamic Texans offense.
[14:07] Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think back because it was a two
[14:09] Speaker 3: stage surgery for Tank Dell because he had the LCL,
[14:13] Speaker 3: the meniscus, the MCL. He had that surgery and then
[14:16] Speaker 3: did rehab on that, then he finished it off with
[14:18] Speaker 3: the ACL surgery. So that's why you go twenty twenty
[14:21] Speaker 3: four to now where you know, hopefully get him back
[14:24] Speaker 3: out there and healthy and give C. J. Stroud another
[14:28] Speaker 3: player that he feels comfortable with, the like Dalton Schultz
[14:30] Speaker 3: is a part of that. I don't know why Dalton
[14:31] Speaker 3: Schultz is catching sneak dishes, sneak.
[14:34] Speaker 1: Not at all. He was a great guest too. I
[14:36] Speaker 1: really liked it. I felt really bad. I've never talked
[14:39] Speaker 1: to a player that had taken a playoff loss harder
[14:41] Speaker 1: that where the loss was like two or three weeks old.
[14:44] Speaker 1: And it's a real thing. And I think, I know
[14:47] Speaker 1: you're not necessarily always fully buying in on chipwatch, but
[14:51] Speaker 1: how about a team wide chip here. You know this
[14:53] Speaker 1: is a team that's knocking on the door.
[14:55] Speaker 3: Well, I think that they are a team that's uniquely
[14:58] Speaker 3: aware of where things went wrong and it gives them
[15:01] Speaker 3: that capacity to directly address those things because they have
[15:04] Speaker 3: the talent. Right, there's a whole lot of people that
[15:07] Speaker 3: could be very well aware, right how things went wrong
[15:09] Speaker 3: when they don't necessarily have the ability to overcome that
[15:12] Speaker 3: the Texans do.
[15:14] Speaker 2: And it's just it's going to take this. You know.
[15:17] Speaker 3: The way that we talk about the Bengals defense is
[15:20] Speaker 3: kind of how I feel about the Texans offense, where
[15:22] Speaker 3: it's like, man, they just need to be somewhat all right.
[15:25] Speaker 3: I think this group can be better than someone al right.
[15:28] Speaker 1: Because they have a better than average quarterback. In my mind,
[15:30] Speaker 1: and again, our guy Seth Pain, we're two members of
[15:33] Speaker 1: the Seth Heads, said CJ just looking more comfortable in
[15:37] Speaker 1: this second year in the system. Thought his accuracy, which
[15:40] Speaker 1: his calling card just weirdly wasn't there last training camp
[15:43] Speaker 1: and for a lot of last year was just like
[15:45] Speaker 1: a little up and down in that it's been better.
[15:47] Speaker 1: Good news too, is Derek Stingley is fine after a
[15:51] Speaker 1: collision that didn't look great, which made me so happy
[15:54] Speaker 1: because nothing worse than that happening in practice, but especially
[15:57] Speaker 1: made me happy because the guy who ran into him
[15:59] Speaker 1: and didn't look great was the same guy Dared Wayne
[16:03] Speaker 1: who ran into Tank Dell in that game that injured him.
[16:05] Speaker 2: So glad to hear everyone is healthy.
[16:07] Speaker 6: There.
[16:07] Speaker 1: Let's go to the Titans. I'm into omens. We've got
[16:10] Speaker 1: some other first play analysis in this program. The first
