[0:05] Speaker 1: Welcome to NFL Daily, where this podcast, unlike the Aaron
[0:08] Speaker 1: Rodgers Arizona Cardinals Talks, is very real. I'm Greg Rosenthal.
[0:13] Speaker 1: I'm in the podcast studio named for my friend Chris Westling,
[0:16] Speaker 1: and I'm with another one of my friends, Patrick Claybox.
[0:20] Speaker 2: I just randomly remember Tom Savage.
[0:22] Speaker 1: Shout out to Tom Savage naming some guys, just you.
[0:25] Speaker 2: Know, thinking about things that are real.
[0:27] Speaker 1: Also my love for you, Dott he might be something
[0:30] Speaker 1: Tom Savage, former Houston, Texan, big arm guy. I would
[0:33] Speaker 1: fall for some of those big arm guys who could
[0:35] Speaker 1: stand in the pocket, take a big hit, go through
[0:39] Speaker 1: their reads, maybe like Andrew Walter style.
[0:41] Speaker 2: But how silly is that?
[0:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, noning point of these quarterbacks.
[0:46] Speaker 2: This guys can get blasted, and we're like, yeah, you.
[0:49] Speaker 1: Know who's good at that getting blasted and making great throws?
[0:53] Speaker 1: Tyler Seck been watching him and a little worried about
[0:56] Speaker 1: the amount of vicious hits that I'm finding on on film.
[1:00] Speaker 1: Talking about the talks out, you know, I mentioned Aaron Rodgers.
[1:03] Speaker 1: We're going to get to him a little later in
[1:05] Speaker 1: the show the News and we'll see if this changes
[1:08] Speaker 1: later in the week. It's not worthy of leading the
[1:10] Speaker 1: show with you need to do better news right now,
[1:13] Speaker 1: but we do have some news including DJ reader signed
[1:17] Speaker 1: Russell Wilson that's gonna come up later. Ope, instead of
[1:19] Speaker 1: what we're gonna do is please the listeners front and center. Patrick, Yes,
[1:23] Speaker 1: and we're going to start with some fun mail bag
[1:26] Speaker 1: questions in the middle of this May week, and we're
[1:29] Speaker 1: going to start with Travis Hogan, what NFL teams would
[1:34] Speaker 1: you pick to win a Super Bowl in the next
[1:37] Speaker 1: five years? These questions are going to go all over
[1:39] Speaker 1: the place, specific, not specific, but this one I like
[1:42] Speaker 1: because it's tough to answer him and it reminds me
[1:45] Speaker 1: of one of Danishek's best bits of like you think, oh,
[1:48] Speaker 1: this guy's gonna win the Super that guy's gonna win
[1:50] Speaker 1: the Super only one team gets to win every year,
[1:52] Speaker 1: and doing this exercise coming up with five, you just
[1:57] Speaker 1: realize how many teams, even if you spread it out
[1:59] Speaker 1: and there's only one per team, are going to be
[2:01] Speaker 1: heartbroken and it's not gonna happen for him. What is
[2:05] Speaker 1: your list of the five teams that will win a
[2:07] Speaker 1: Super Bowl in the next five years? Actually it can't
[2:09] Speaker 1: be five to like that you could have the Ravens
[2:11] Speaker 1: winning four times if you want no, Well.
[2:13] Speaker 3: Just based off of I was trying to go through
[2:15] Speaker 3: and picking. Yes, I did put the Baltimore Ravens on
[2:17] Speaker 3: so that would be one team, but I couldn't make
[2:19] Speaker 3: the list without including the Chiefs and the Eagles on there, because,
[2:23] Speaker 3: like I can envision a circumstance obviously where the Chiefs
[2:26] Speaker 3: get back and the Eagles hire another future head coach
[2:29] Speaker 3: offensive coordinator and they fix all the problems and they
[2:32] Speaker 3: go back to the Super Bowl.
[2:33] Speaker 1: Okay, let me stop you there. Yeah, we agree. We
[2:35] Speaker 1: both have the Ravens. Maybe it's wish casting, but I
[2:39] Speaker 1: think they make a good case for a team that's competitive.
[2:42] Speaker 1: They have the quarterback situation, good organization. I agreed with
[2:45] Speaker 1: you and the Chiefs. I wanted to pick teams that
[2:48] Speaker 1: I want to see win the Super Bowl, But as
[2:51] Speaker 1: I sat with it, I was just like, they still
[2:54] Speaker 1: are going to have Patrick Walmes. I'm picking most likely
[2:56] Speaker 1: are they going to get that Steph Curry in twenty
[2:59] Speaker 1: two type title? Not that Mahomes is that far at
[3:02] Speaker 1: the end, but just like that one more, the Patriots
[3:05] Speaker 1: got that one more and twenty eighteen. I mean heck,
[3:07] Speaker 1: Chiefs fans will say we can get more than one more.
[3:09] Speaker 1: I disagree with you on the Eagles, though, because the
[3:11] Speaker 1: quarterback situation is crazy enough. The organization is great. They're
[3:15] Speaker 1: so talented it wouldn't surprise me. But do I think
[3:19] Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts gets another Super Bowl and they You know,
[3:22] Speaker 1: I decided to go with more of what I want.
[3:24] Speaker 1: But I see you there. So I have two we
[3:26] Speaker 1: agree on the Ravens and Chiefs. You have the Eagles,
[3:28] Speaker 1: who are your final too. The Buffalo Bills same and
[3:31] Speaker 1: the Green Bay Packers did not have them speak speak
[3:34] Speaker 1: on speak on those two.
[3:36] Speaker 3: Well, I think obviously the Parson's injury was significant in
[3:39] Speaker 3: terms of the impact for the twenty twenty five Green
[3:43] Speaker 3: Bay Packers. He comes back as healthy, they I wouldn't
[3:49] Speaker 3: necessarily made all the moves on offense that the Packers made,
[3:52] Speaker 3: but they feel confident with it. A coach and a
[3:55] Speaker 3: quarterback that have played and been together for a while.
[3:58] Speaker 3: I could see them winning in the playoffscluding against the
[4:00] Speaker 3: team that was better than the last year in the
[4:02] Speaker 3: Chicago Bears. I narrowly edged off of this list by
[4:05] Speaker 3: the Packers and the Buffalo Bills have the biggest cheat
[4:09] Speaker 3: code in sports. If they'll fail right, and they'll continue
[4:11] Speaker 3: to fail him, they'll they'll win the Super Bowl.
[4:14] Speaker 1: So I agree with you on the Bills. So we
[4:15] Speaker 1: agreed on three teams and according to science, the Ravens, Bills,
[4:19] Speaker 1: and Chiefs. Congratulations, you've won the Super Bowl in the
[4:21] Speaker 1: next five years. We agreed. I think the Bill. I
[4:25] Speaker 1: just think Josh Allenhill. It's going to happen. It should
[4:28] Speaker 1: happen eventually. I did not have the Packers on my list,
[4:30] Speaker 1: but that's a good way to go is just think
[4:32] Speaker 1: ORG quarterback coach, and they really check those boxes. So
[4:36] Speaker 1: I feel bad they were the second to last team
[4:39] Speaker 1: that I left off. I put the Chargers and the
[4:43] Speaker 1: Lions as my last two. Now this is where the ORG.
[4:45] Speaker 1: They're not really passing those tests, but they're certainly passing
[4:49] Speaker 1: the quarterback test in the case of the Chargers, and
[4:53] Speaker 1: in coach I believe, and the organizational at least in
[4:56] Speaker 1: terms of the front office and the coach in Detroit.
[5:00] Speaker 1: Detroit was a little bit of wish casting, but I
[5:02] Speaker 1: decided that's where I'm going. This is a great young
[5:06] Speaker 1: ish nucleus in their prime. I don't think the Windows
[5:08] Speaker 1: over in the next three or four years. I think
[5:09] Speaker 1: they can get it done. It would be amazing to
[5:12] Speaker 1: see two of the organizations that have never won a
[5:15] Speaker 1: Super Bowl. This is where my sentiment got in a
[5:17] Speaker 1: little bit. I decided to give one of the Chargers
[5:19] Speaker 1: and the Lions as my last two.
[5:20] Speaker 3: I completely understand that for the Detroit Lions, it's the Chargers.
[5:23] Speaker 3: Thing is kind of throwing me off.
[5:24] Speaker 1: Look, okay, why good tackles, good great quarterback, good coach.
[5:33] Speaker 1: We got some defensive talent. I'm using we They're right
[5:35] Speaker 1: across the Yeah.
[5:36] Speaker 3: No a South Bay GUYE Greg I stand the Chargers,
[5:40] Speaker 3: I stand the Als Chargers.
[5:42] Speaker 2: I'm all about it.
[5:43] Speaker 1: It seems a little more of a long shot. My
[5:45] Speaker 1: first three off were the forty nine Ers, Packers, and
[5:49] Speaker 1: you also mentioned the Bears. Also apologies to Drake May
[5:53] Speaker 1: and Joe Burrow and the organizations that they played for.
[5:55] Speaker 1: Next question, how will Sean Payton be remembered if he
[5:58] Speaker 1: only wins one Super Bowl? Will he be viewed as
[6:00] Speaker 1: someone who underachieved or first and foremost as an offensive wizard?
[6:06] Speaker 1: This is from listener top Trevor on Blue Sky.
[6:10] Speaker 3: Yeah, Top Trevor shout out the top, Trevor, I think
[6:12] Speaker 3: the one of the more absurd things that we will
[6:15] Speaker 3: do is say somebody has only won one World championship,
[6:19] Speaker 3: right Like, it's the thing that the Madex and Glavin
[6:21] Speaker 3: and Smoltz braves, guys, they only won one World.
[6:23] Speaker 1: You gotta say that about legend Derek White. I mean,
[6:26] Speaker 1: he earned that thing and he's got to be a
[6:27] Speaker 1: champion forever.
[6:29] Speaker 3: But in terms of a coaching moment, which is about
[6:32] Speaker 3: decision making and preparing a team and executing that onside
[6:35] Speaker 3: kick in the Super Bowl with the biggest stakes ever
[6:38] Speaker 3: with one of the best to ever do it on
[6:39] Speaker 3: the other sideline, that's going to overshadow anything, especially because
[6:43] Speaker 3: we place so much importance in the Super Bowl and
[6:46] Speaker 3: we decide who was good and who wasn't based on
[6:49] Speaker 3: that one game the results in February.
[6:51] Speaker 2: That's how Sean Payton's.
[6:53] Speaker 1: And plus you know, if we're thinking about how people
[6:55] Speaker 1: will be remembered, people remember the twenty eighteen NFC champion
[7:00] Speaker 1: Ship where the Saints were pretty fair. You know, they
[7:03] Speaker 1: were robbed, it was it was one of the worst
[7:04] Speaker 1: calls in NFL history. I think people tend to just
[7:07] Speaker 1: give them that Super Bowl over the Patriots. They shouldn't.
[7:10] Speaker 1: That would have been, you know, a good game. But
[7:13] Speaker 1: people remember that when thinking about Sean Pate.
[7:15] Speaker 2: They would have had more than more than three points.
[7:18] Speaker 1: They absolutely would have. I would have given the Saints.
[7:22] Speaker 1: I just established them as a minus three favorite in
[7:24] Speaker 1: that game, a little bit of a favorite over that
[7:25] Speaker 1: Patriots team. Hall of famer. In my mind, Sean Payton
[7:29] Speaker 1: reminds me a little bit of Andy Reid if Andy
[7:33] Speaker 1: Reid didn't just keep spiking the football here in Kansas City,
[7:35] Speaker 1: kind of the Andy Reid in Philadelphia. It's insane to me.
[7:38] Speaker 1: Mike Shanahan hasn't made the Hall of Fame, but to me,
[7:41] Speaker 1: Sean Payton is very similar in that he really helped
[7:44] Speaker 1: to change offensive football, and he just won a lot
[7:47] Speaker 1: of games. He's one hundred and eighty four and one
[7:49] Speaker 1: his winning percent sorry, one hundred and eighty four is
[7:53] Speaker 1: incredible and one oh one one hundred and eighty four
[7:55] Speaker 1: and one oh one his winning percentage in New Orleans
[7:58] Speaker 1: and are almost the exact same, right around six thirty.
[8:03] Speaker 1: I mean, that's incredible. Eleven double digit win seasons. I
[8:09] Speaker 1: think doing it again with the Broncos, says a lot. Yeah,
[8:13] Speaker 1: the playoffs, he's gone exactly one and one seven times,
[8:17] Speaker 1: so he's just been a lot of like I'm gonna
[8:19] Speaker 1: win the Wild Carter Divisional round and then my team's
[8:22] Speaker 1: gonna lose. That's unfortunate. It's a small sample size, but
[8:25] Speaker 1: to me.
[8:26] Speaker 3: A small sample size that includes the worst call in
[8:28] Speaker 3: NFL history and a Jared Stidham start.
[8:31] Speaker 1: Here's how I'll remember him too, as like the last
[8:33] Speaker 1: real Bill Parcels guy and the real protege of Bill Parcells,
[8:40] Speaker 1: not Bill Belichick. And here's my hottest take, is better
[8:43] Speaker 1: coach than Bill Parcells.
[8:44] Speaker 2: That's not hot at all in this studio, Greg, I.
[8:46] Speaker 1: Mean just in terms of Super Bowls and like name
[8:49] Speaker 1: value people. Okay, good, I'm glad you agree. No, ill
[8:52] Speaker 1: check a little bit of a I mean Parcels a
[8:54] Speaker 1: little bit of a Belichick merchant and media merchant. But
[8:56] Speaker 1: I think Sean Payton brought more.
[8:57] Speaker 2: To the table.
[8:58] Speaker 1: Yeah, and I would challenge anybody that disagrees. You get
[9:02] Speaker 1: a seal is great too. I don't know I'm talking him.
[9:04] Speaker 3: You give you get a chance to have a coach
[9:07] Speaker 3: coach your team for three years. Are you taking Sean Payton?
[9:09] Speaker 3: Are you taking billboard exactly exactly.
[9:11] Speaker 2: Let's be real.
[9:12] Speaker 1: What quarterback will be on a different team in twenty
[9:14] Speaker 1: twenty seven that would shock the twenty twenty five version
[9:17] Speaker 1: of you. This is from Caroline Kelly. Although women that
[9:21] Speaker 1: listen and watch the show, you're more likely to get
[9:23] Speaker 1: your question asked because we just need to get them
[9:25] Speaker 1: represented here in the terms of the question. This was
[9:27] Speaker 1: on Instagram, and the trick of this question is if
[9:32] Speaker 1: we're saying the name, I don't know if it would
[9:34] Speaker 1: shock the current version of me because I have to
[9:36] Speaker 1: come up with him. But this was I thought a
[9:38] Speaker 1: really fun question.
[9:39] Speaker 2: It is Kirk Cousins.
[9:41] Speaker 1: Oh stop, because he's still in the league.
[9:44] Speaker 3: In twenty twenty seven. All right, so we get the
[9:47] Speaker 3: six or seven or eight Cousins games this year in
[9:50] Speaker 3: twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven. Kirk Cousins is
[9:52] Speaker 3: starting a quarterback somewhere.
[9:54] Speaker 1: Bad answer.
[9:55] Speaker 2: You tell the twenty twenty.
[9:57] Speaker 3: Five version of me that Kirk Cousins is starting for
[10:00] Speaker 3: I'm shocked in two different aspects, One that that team
[10:04] Speaker 3: is starting a quarterback and two that that quarterback is
[10:08] Speaker 3: Kirk Cousin.
[10:09] Speaker 1: All Right, you won me over because It's funny. I
[10:12] Speaker 1: came up with a few. You only asked for one, Caroline,
[10:15] Speaker 1: But would Jalen Hurts shock you.
[10:19] Speaker 2: No, it wouldn't shock me.
[10:20] Speaker 1: That be interested. The sequence is interesting after I think
[10:23] Speaker 1: it would be how about Dak Prescott. I don't know
[10:27] Speaker 1: what would need to happen for this to happen, but
[10:30] Speaker 1: that would be, on one hand, shocking, And but you're
[10:33] Speaker 1: trying to think of like a guy who could someday
[10:36] Speaker 1: shake loose somehow. That could be one, but I'm subtenly
[10:40] Speaker 1: on my my final answer. The real shock would be
[10:44] Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford. How about how about him starting for another
[10:47] Speaker 1: team in twenty twenty seven? That would be shocking, and
[10:49] Speaker 1: yet like, couldn't you see it a little bit?
[10:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, the sequence of events where there's a question mark
[10:57] Speaker 3: about Stafford's availability and so the are not necessarily ready
[11:01] Speaker 3: for the ty Simpson era to start, so Dak Prescott
[11:03] Speaker 3: finds them oh to play for the Los Angeles Rams.
[11:06] Speaker 3: Matthew Stafford's like, wait a minute, I'd like to play football,
[11:09] Speaker 3: and then you have a host of suitors accept the team.
[11:12] Speaker 2: That's sound Kirk Cousins.
[11:13] Speaker 1: You stuffer. I I thought you were gonna say, yeah,
[11:18] Speaker 1: Ty Simpson's starting for the Rams, but that's funny that
[11:21] Speaker 1: Dak Prescott is starting over Ty Simpson. That would be shocking.
[11:25] Speaker 1: Eric suggested to me Joe Burrow, which is is going
[11:27] Speaker 1: to be speculated and worried about in Cincinnati. But I
[11:30] Speaker 1: don't think I think they'll they'll let go of Joe Burrow.
[11:34] Speaker 1: You have to pry him out of their dead cold hands.
[11:36] Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, that would shock me.
[11:38] Speaker 1: She's Tony asked that I mentioned that the Packers haven't
[11:43] Speaker 1: made any offensive moves this offseason, mentioned it on the
[11:46] Speaker 1: show and on social that they made two acquisitions a
[11:49] Speaker 1: fifth round guard in sky Moore, and Packers fans were
[11:53] Speaker 1: so mad we didn't need anything on offense. We were fine,
[11:57] Speaker 1: what's your point? You don't, you don't, so what's your point?
[12:00] Speaker 1: Che's Tony, who's cool did He wasn't getting all bothered.
[12:04] Speaker 1: He just said, what would you like to see the mad?
[12:06] Speaker 1: Which I think is a totally fair question. I just
[12:09] Speaker 1: want to defend myself and just say I thought that
[12:10] Speaker 1: was interesting. If you go I went back. I went
[12:12] Speaker 1: and looked through all the other teams. There was no
[12:14] Speaker 1: other team that and I'm just saying, like third round
[12:17] Speaker 1: guards like helpful veteran depth that different position. There's no
[12:21] Speaker 1: other team that had anywhere even close to less than
[12:24] Speaker 1: like five or six. It's just very rare to see,
[12:26] Speaker 1: like literally no acquisitions, and they do have some time
[12:30] Speaker 1: to add some. But to answer cheese Tony's questions, I
[12:34] Speaker 1: think you could use a running back. Yeah, and Josh Jacobs,
[12:37] Speaker 1: Marshall Lloyd lost the mania, wasn't I think you could
[12:42] Speaker 1: use the tight end. Not sure how I feel about
[12:44] Speaker 1: Luke Mesgrave in general, but I think you got to start,
[12:48] Speaker 1: you know, planning for the future, and Tucker Craft's coming
[12:51] Speaker 1: off an injury, and then depth really throughout. You know,
[12:55] Speaker 1: you just signed Tyrod, so I guess that's the third player.
[12:58] Speaker 1: That's good news.
[12:59] Speaker 3: Yeah, the depth severe hits at depth right through a
[13:04] Speaker 3: lot of spots.
[13:04] Speaker 1: You could use it. You could use a veteran wide receiver.
[13:06] Speaker 1: People think they have enough wide receivers. Okay, you just
[13:08] Speaker 1: totally counting on you know, Jayden Reid and that group
[13:11] Speaker 1: to just stay healthy, little dicey. But it's more that
[13:15] Speaker 1: every team replenishes through the draft and some free agency
[13:18] Speaker 1: depth every year because then you just get caught, you know,
[13:21] Speaker 1: and that's what could happen, But they also have time.
[13:23] Speaker 1: Tyrod Taylor, for instance, is a good example of the
[13:26] Speaker 1: types of signings I think they could and should make,
[13:29] Speaker 1: including at edge. But that wasn't the question. It was
[13:32] Speaker 1: about offense, all right. Our next question is a big one.
[13:35] Speaker 1: We might have to do a whole show on this,
[13:37] Speaker 1: but we'll do a quicker let us here. Rando Johnson
[13:40] Speaker 1: asked what new offensive could emerge in twenty twenty six.
[13:45] Speaker 3: I think the leaning into heavy personnel will continue. It's
[13:50] Speaker 3: twenty twenty seven when the pieces are going to start
[13:53] Speaker 3: to zag. Related to that zig, I think we'll see
[13:57] Speaker 3: more shifts to combat that. You know, you'll have You
[14:01] Speaker 3: already had an off ball linebacker drafted in the live.
[14:05] Speaker 1: More line, yeah, more value for the off ball linebackers,
[14:08] Speaker 1: more linebackers.
[14:09] Speaker 3: And so we'll start to But I think in twenty
[14:12] Speaker 3: twenty six, especially with the Tree having the most dominance
[14:17] Speaker 3: it's ever had throughout the league, I think that trend
[14:21] Speaker 3: is going to stay through and become even more expanded.
[14:23] Speaker 1: Ollie Connelly stalked on the show specifically about Bryce Young,
[14:26] Speaker 1: thinking like maybe they'll go to a little more spread
[14:28] Speaker 1: and point guard offense, almost to combat that and I
[14:31] Speaker 1: think as part of that to me is pace. That's
[14:34] Speaker 1: something I could see being a trend. How do you
[14:36] Speaker 1: prevent Brian Flores And it's not like this hasn't happened.
[14:39] Speaker 1: Brian Flores and all these different defenses which are doing
[14:42] Speaker 1: so much before the snap post snap trying to confuse you.
[14:45] Speaker 1: You just play faster. The Saints were the fastest team
[14:48] Speaker 1: in the league last year. Kellen Moore talked about it.
[14:50] Speaker 1: I think they might lean into that more. I think
[14:51] Speaker 1: there's an advantage to be had there if you can
[14:54] Speaker 1: do it well. It's always tricky. You got to have depth,
[14:55] Speaker 1: you gotta have everyone on the same page. But when
[14:57] Speaker 1: you looked at the top of the league in terms
[14:59] Speaker 1: of pace, for what it's worth, a lot of the
[15:01] Speaker 1: best offenses, the Rams were right up there. The Bears
[15:03] Speaker 1: were very high. The Eagles in the Super Bowl a
[15:05] Speaker 1: couple of years ago, I thought really underrated part of
[15:08] Speaker 1: that game beating the Chiefs was how quickly they played
[15:12] Speaker 1: to prevent Spags from doing what he wants. So, yeah,
[15:15] Speaker 1: a little more, let's pick it up, picking it up,
[15:16] Speaker 1: let's get let's get back to a little past. Let's
[15:18] Speaker 1: get Chip Kelly back not going that far, but or
[15:22] Speaker 1: even like twenty eleven Patriots, which one of the most
[15:24] Speaker 1: fun teams offensively of my lifetime, twenty eleven Patriots. Are
[15:29] Speaker 1: there any good football books worth reading? Gregy's takes two
[15:33] Speaker 1: asks what a great name with two g's and going
[15:36] Speaker 1: Gregy like like my mom does. Really, that's the only
[15:40] Speaker 1: person that's ever done. I put this question on the
[15:43] Speaker 1: show because I wanted to tell people we're gonna have
[15:45] Speaker 1: Chuck Klosterman on NFL Daily in a couple weeks talking
[15:49] Speaker 1: about his book Football Now. I haven't read it yet.
[15:52] Speaker 1: I have a copy. I'm going to read it before
[15:55] Speaker 1: we talked to Chuck in two two and a half weeks,
[15:58] Speaker 1: but I just thought, well, they're one book if you
[16:00] Speaker 1: happen to He's a very compelling thinker. I like his
[16:04] Speaker 1: takes on sports. Haven't read this book yet, but I
[16:07] Speaker 1: think it's gonna be interesting if you want to kind
[16:08] Speaker 1: of read along with me. And we're gonna have Chuck
[16:11] Speaker 1: on the show to talk about the book and other books.
[16:13] Speaker 1: One thing I do want to talk about he doesn't
[16:14] Speaker 1: know this. I just want to talk about football literature
[16:18] Speaker 1: in general and books. What are some of his favorites,
[16:20] Speaker 1: my favorites, and just talk about football books. I feel
[16:23] Speaker 1: like they're underrepresented, so I just want to throw out
[16:25] Speaker 1: that out there. If you want to check out Chuck's
[16:27] Speaker 1: book in the meantime, you can read along and we'll
[16:29] Speaker 1: talk to him more deeply about this exact subject. The
[16:34] Speaker 1: next question after the regular season, what are your favorite
[16:38] Speaker 1: position battles, for example, Bill's defensive end edge or the
[16:45] Speaker 1: forty nine ers wide receiver too in eleven personnel, which
[16:48] Speaker 1: got really specific there, and I like that. I love it,
[16:50] Speaker 1: so that battle off the top of my head, what
[16:53] Speaker 1: is Dejohn Stribbling and Christian Kirks in that mix? And
[16:56] Speaker 1: Ricky Pearsall. I mean, Piercell's been a pretty dynamic receiver.
[17:01] Speaker 1: I don't know if that's much of a battle personally, Yeah,
[17:04] Speaker 1: I think it's Evans.
[17:05] Speaker 3: There's been so much shriveling discourse that I think people
[17:08] Speaker 3: forgetting the Mike Evans of it all.
[17:12] Speaker 1: And yeah, herecealls what you want in a modern receiver.
[17:15] Speaker 1: He's not a modern number one receiver, but if he's healthy,
[17:19] Speaker 1: he is kind of a perfect modern two that you
[17:22] Speaker 1: can use. So I think it's gonna be those two
[17:24] Speaker 1: guys for that, But what do you got for your
[17:26] Speaker 1: answer here? You got to come up with your own.
[17:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[17:30] Speaker 3: Well, I was going to say, in terms of the
[17:36] Speaker 3: book The Three Week Professional which I did read Three
[17:40] Speaker 3: Week Professionals, it's looking back at the eighty seven player strike.
[17:43] Speaker 3: I think with so many labor related issues that everybody's
[17:46] Speaker 3: going through, it's a it's a worthwhile read to hell.
[17:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm always looking for new good football books, I think. Yeah,
[17:56] Speaker 1: I feel like I've read them all at this point,
[17:58] Speaker 1: and there are a ton that are underrated, but there's
[18:00] Speaker 1: not a ton coming out every year. With Sean Payn
[18:04] Speaker 1: involved in that story because he was quite active as
[18:07] Speaker 1: a player. He was one of the best players in
[18:09] Speaker 1: that strike. He was he was the starting quarterback of
[18:12] Speaker 1: the Bears. So I always found that interesting little Son Payton. Sorry,
[18:17] Speaker 1: I'll give you my position. Okay. I got a couple
[18:20] Speaker 1: of Broncos running back it's fun. Jonah Coleman, JK. Dobbins, Yeah, RJ.
[18:26] Speaker 1: Harvey Dolphins wide receiver. I just have no idea who's
[18:29] Speaker 1: going to play there. So just watching that the Eagles
[18:31] Speaker 1: wide receiver after Tavante Smith. Let's assume that AJ Brown
[18:36] Speaker 1: gets traded. That's just a little bit of a grab bag.
[18:39] Speaker 1: People I think are just slotting in Lemon. But he's
[18:41] Speaker 1: got to prove it and Dontavian Wicks and Hollywood Brown's
[18:44] Speaker 1: there and see if they add anything. So I think
[18:47] Speaker 1: that's that's a fun one. The Chief's Edge. They have
[18:51] Speaker 1: some young players opposite Carl Loftus, but it's like between
[18:54] Speaker 1: Jelatti and who they draft r Mason Thomas. They have
[18:59] Speaker 1: their their first round pick from years ago and a
[19:00] Speaker 1: decay like someone needs to step up. That that's another
[19:03] Speaker 1: one keeping an eye on.
[19:05] Speaker 3: There was so much Bradford discussion last year the Seahawks
[19:08] Speaker 3: won the Super Bowl, wondering if there's any sort of
[19:12] Speaker 3: movement up front for the Seattle Seahawks.
[19:16] Speaker 1: In that you were talking about Anthony Bradford. You weren't
[19:18] Speaker 1: misnaming Sam Darnold as Sam Bradford, which I often do.
[19:23] Speaker 2: No, no, no, Sam Bratton.
[19:26] Speaker 1: Shout out to Sam, trying to clarify that for the
[19:28] Speaker 1: listeners who might not know. Yeah, Anthony Bradford conversation, that's
[19:32] Speaker 1: a good one.
[19:32] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[19:33] Speaker 3: Then the not the exaber legett of at all, but
[19:37] Speaker 3: Carolina Panthers wide receiver, Yes, where it is? It has
[19:40] Speaker 3: been such a constant thing, even through in and throughout.
[19:45] Speaker 2: No seasons. Get some answers there.
[19:48] Speaker 1: That's a good one. Rico'daddell versus Caleb Johnson. You kind
[19:53] Speaker 1: of assume Jalen Warren is who Jalen Warren is. But
[19:55] Speaker 1: I think those two guys, yeah, maybe going to get
[19:58] Speaker 1: to each other. Dubd'll probably with an edge there. The
[20:00] Speaker 1: new group brought him in, but those guys are kind
[20:02] Speaker 1: of similar. Next question, how can fans push back against
[20:06] Speaker 1: reporting starting to turn into mouthpieces for organizations and agents?
[20:13] Speaker 1: Interesting question by Seahawks fan aka Muffin War nine four
[20:17] Speaker 1: two A.
[20:17] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, Muffin Wars in he's in.
[20:19] Speaker 1: Who won the Muffin Wars? Has it really changed? My
[20:24] Speaker 1: only issue with this question is I am old enough
[20:29] Speaker 1: to remember, you know, early days of the Internet, Len
[20:32] Speaker 1: Pascarelli writing the cheat tip sheet on ESPN and all like.
[20:37] Speaker 1: It's always kind of been mouthpiece.
[20:39] Speaker 3: Because that's my only disagreement with starting starting to be
[20:44] Speaker 3: because there's only there's only so much access that goes
[20:48] Speaker 3: out there, and traditionally people who have been aligned with
[20:53] Speaker 3: capitol are the ones who get that and get that
[20:56] Speaker 3: access and so but to answer the question. You know,
[20:59] Speaker 3: fans can be skeptical of certain things in certain positions
[21:04] Speaker 3: and be vocal about it, but it's kind of it's
[21:07] Speaker 3: the astronaut meam always has been.
[21:09] Speaker 1: Probably the difference is the breadth and of the types
[21:12] Speaker 1: of different reporters that just are employed, like enterprise feature reporters.
[21:16] Speaker 1: There's just less of that and that now where sometimes
[21:20] Speaker 1: you would get pretty interesting insights. I do think that's
[21:24] Speaker 1: declined a little bit, just as the industry has less
[21:26] Speaker 1: people in employ So support your independence, yes, you know
[21:31] Speaker 1: journalistic enterprises and not independent sort of support them all. Yeah,
[21:36] Speaker 1: that's probably the part locally, because these these folks don't exist,
[21:40] Speaker 1: like the capacity to have the job doesn't doesn't exist.
[21:43] Speaker 1: And if you call out people on social when you
[21:46] Speaker 1: think they're being mouthpieces, they hear it. It has impact.
[21:49] Speaker 1: So that's another way to do it too, when you
[21:51] Speaker 1: think someone's really carrying the water and they get a
[21:53] Speaker 1: lot of pushback for that, like they notice some it's something. Well,
[21:58] Speaker 1: does it have an impact on on all of them? No,
[22:01] Speaker 1: but a little bit. It can't hurt. I mean, it
[22:03] Speaker 1: might make you feel better at least. Here's a couple
[22:07] Speaker 1: of ravens questions here with you in the building, Patrick, Oh, Okay,
[22:10] Speaker 1: would the Steelers win the Super Bowl with Lamar as quarterback? Relatedly,
[22:17] Speaker 1: Baltimore's three and seven versus the Steelers in the last
[22:19] Speaker 1: ten white of football quote unquote, experts think there's so
[22:22] Speaker 1: much better. Let's handle the second one first, because I
[22:25] Speaker 1: don't think it's that interesting. Well, because they've been better.
[22:27] Speaker 1: I mean, they were better three straight seasons before last season.
[22:30] Speaker 1: If they're healthy, their ceiling has been higher, They've gotten
[22:32] Speaker 1: further in the playoffs, they have been better. But it's
[22:35] Speaker 1: a fair point that the Steelers have done a good
[22:37] Speaker 1: job head to head in that rivalry.
[22:39] Speaker 3: Yeah, they have prepared and been, you know, a good
[22:44] Speaker 3: divisional opponent.
[22:45] Speaker 1: The other question, to me is more interesting. Would the
[22:47] Speaker 1: Steelers win the Super Bowl with Lamar's QB one? And
[22:50] Speaker 1: I added an extra element to this. Let's just come
[22:52] Speaker 1: up with the teams you think would win the Super
[22:56] Speaker 1: Bowl with Lamar as the quarterback? And by win the
[22:58] Speaker 1: Super Bowl, I don't think it's like. Look, the biggest
[23:02] Speaker 1: favorite for the Super Bowl in the most in the
[23:06] Speaker 1: strongest of years of the Chiefs, let's say are still
[23:09] Speaker 1: unlikely to win the Super Bowl? Like the most likely
[23:12] Speaker 1: team to win the Super Bowl if they're awesome is
[23:15] Speaker 1: like thirty percent or something twenty five to thirty per
[23:17] Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, if you put Lamar on their team,
[23:20] Speaker 1: maybe they would be the favorite. If you had to
[23:22] Speaker 1: pick one team to win the Super Bowl, they would
[23:24] Speaker 1: be the favorite. I came up with a little list,
[23:26] Speaker 1: and it's really a testament to how good Lamar is
[23:28] Speaker 1: in these organizations. But I don't know if if you
[23:31] Speaker 1: have a list or you want to start of who
[23:34] Speaker 1: wins with Lamar? And would the Steelers win with Lamar?
[23:37] Speaker 2: I think this Steelers team probably would not.
[23:39] Speaker 1: I think an interesting question when I first saw this
[23:41] Speaker 1: was would the Steelers have hired Mike McCarthy if Lamar
[23:44] Speaker 1: Jackson was their quarterback? Would Mike tomlin I retired if
[23:48] Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson was their quarterback?
[23:50] Speaker 2: No?
[23:50] Speaker 1: No, one, No, I mean no, And yes, why not
[23:52] Speaker 1: hire McCarthy. I think that'd be a fine pairing.
[23:55] Speaker 3: But well, I just in terms of you know what
[24:00] Speaker 3: they would like to execute and execute a vision. I
[24:03] Speaker 3: think the twenty twenty one Steelers with like the ghost
[24:06] Speaker 3: of Ben Roethlisberger that like somehow made its way to
[24:11] Speaker 3: losing the wildcard round. I think they would have been
[24:14] Speaker 3: a significant contender.
[24:16] Speaker 2: You know, the.
[24:18] Speaker 3: Last two seasons of like this is ten and seven
[24:20] Speaker 3: in three consecutive years for the Mike Tomlin Steelers, all
[24:23] Speaker 3: losing in the wildcard round.
[24:25] Speaker 2: I think they advance, they.
[24:27] Speaker 1: Win a playoff game or something. But the problems that
[24:30] Speaker 1: the Ravens vad at times, which is the defense isn't
[24:33] Speaker 1: as good in the playoffs always so some years, yes,
[24:35] Speaker 1: some years no has happened to the Steelers, and not
[24:37] Speaker 1: enough offensive depth and creativity that's been the problem with
[24:41] Speaker 1: the Ravens and Steelers.
[24:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, it takes us back to the Sean Payton question
[24:45] Speaker 3: about only one super Bowl. It can be incalculated, like
[24:48] Speaker 3: lagerious need can punch the ball out of the yard
[24:51] Speaker 3: line and it doesn't happen.
[24:53] Speaker 1: So this question almost doubled as how good is the
[24:55] Speaker 1: rest of your roster question? So I don't know if
[24:57] Speaker 1: I'm just indirectly answering who I think the best rosters
[25:00] Speaker 1: in the league are. But here's my list of the
[25:02] Speaker 1: teams that I think Lamar Jackson would win the Super
[25:05] Speaker 1: Bowl with. I'm just gonna make them the favorite. No
[25:07] Speaker 1: team would win the super Bowl, but just let's put
[25:10] Speaker 1: them as like the betting favorite. I think they'd have
[25:12] Speaker 1: as good a chance or better than any other team,
[25:14] Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills. You put him, you put them on
[25:17] Speaker 1: the Bills. I think they're I mean, I guess that's
[25:20] Speaker 1: not much of an upgrade.
[25:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, because I guess because playoff, I'm.
[25:23] Speaker 1: Crossing that off. Take the Bills away, you put. You
[25:28] Speaker 1: put Lamar on the Eagles. We're not trading a J.
[25:30] Speaker 1: Brown in this situation. I like. I like that situation.
[25:33] Speaker 1: Lamar Eagles, Let's win. Is Lamar in a big enough
[25:37] Speaker 1: of an upgrade on the Rams that you make in
[25:39] Speaker 1: the favorite I think lamarn and Sean mcvagh, I'm going yes,
[25:42] Speaker 1: and Eric's sing yes, did you say yes?
[25:46] Speaker 2: Yes?
[25:47] Speaker 1: The initial the Houston Texans screams that's on my list.
[25:51] Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be a surefire.
[25:53] Speaker 1: Texans and Seahawks are similar to me in that their
[25:57] Speaker 1: defenses speak for themselves. And and Lamar is obviously a
[26:01] Speaker 1: big enough upgrade on Darnold that I think they're the favorites,
[26:04] Speaker 1: and a big enough upgrade on CJ. Stroud that they're
[26:07] Speaker 1: the favorites. I'm going to give them the Broncos. You
[26:08] Speaker 1: give him you give him to the Broncos. We're winning
[26:11] Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. The forty nine Ers. I just want
[26:15] Speaker 1: to see Lamar and Kyle Shanahan for one year. That
[26:17] Speaker 1: team's going. They still got some old talent. And I'm
[26:21] Speaker 1: sorry to Jared Goff, but you give him the Lions,
[26:24] Speaker 1: We're going. That's a lot of teams that just won
[26:25] Speaker 1: the Super Bowl with Lamar.
[26:27] Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it changes things.
[26:30] Speaker 1: Eric produce the Chargers. I'm gonna go No, too many
[26:34] Speaker 1: bad memories of I know Greg Roman's not there anymore,
[26:36] Speaker 1: but Harbaugh Lamar, I just feel like they end up
[26:40] Speaker 1: in the same place that the Ravens did. Yeah, they're
[26:44] Speaker 1: the fun Chargers now, that's true, But somehow not a
[26:47] Speaker 1: regular mom.
[26:48] Speaker 2: I'm a cool mom.
[26:49] Speaker 1: Somehow that doesn't make sense to me. All right, final
[26:51] Speaker 1: one before we take a break. We're gonna do a
[26:53] Speaker 1: little news after the break. But peacequiz asked, do you
[26:57] Speaker 1: all just work for ESPN now or just some who
[27:00] Speaker 1: decides what's different about it now? I mean, those are
[27:03] Speaker 1: great questions. I don't really know the answer to that,
[27:06] Speaker 1: but yes, Patrick is technically an employee of the Mouse
[27:13] Speaker 1: and myself and NFL Daily is an NFL media Enterprise,
[27:19] Speaker 1: loud and proud. So's Eric, and we're working together to
[27:23] Speaker 1: make the football landscape a better place.
[27:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, we're still working on some of the answers.
[27:30] Speaker 1: There best way to handle it I can answer is
[27:33] Speaker 1: that Patrick is here right now. We're having a great time,
[27:37] Speaker 1: and NFL Daily is not going anywhere. We're lockedloaded. We're
[27:41] Speaker 1: working on growing and improving for twenty twenty six. Let's
[27:46] Speaker 1: take a break. We're gonna come back with a little
[27:47] Speaker 1: bit of news and then also get to more of
[27:50] Speaker 1: your mail back by I don't have that free past
[27:55] Speaker 1: to Disney. That'd be nice. Back on NFL Daily first
[28:06] Speaker 1: and foremost a news show. It's important to me, Yes,
[28:10] Speaker 1: but our producer Eric Roberts was so disgusted by this
[28:13] Speaker 1: news rundown. He said, you got to put this after
[28:15] Speaker 1: the break. The news isn't worthy of opening the show with.
[28:20] Speaker 1: It was a response to you saying, yeah, what do
[28:22] Speaker 1: we lead with? Yeah? Question, but I think obvious. None
[28:27] Speaker 1: of it These are important, some are less important stories.
[28:32] Speaker 1: Do you want to stay updated on the NFL? You
[28:34] Speaker 1: love the NFL? Come in, come in here. The first
[28:37] Speaker 1: one is from ESPN's Josh Wine Fuss. I don't know
[28:41] Speaker 1: if you happened to notice that there was a lot
[28:43] Speaker 1: of Aaron Rodgers to the Cardinals talk over the last
[28:46] Speaker 1: handful of days, maybe there was just like a vacuum
[28:48] Speaker 1: of information, a lot of speculation. Could he go to
[28:50] Speaker 1: the Cardinals, Mike Lafleur and whatnot? According to Win Fuss,
[28:55] Speaker 1: that's quote not real.
[28:57] Speaker 2: I tried to go forensic on this.
[28:59] Speaker 3: There was a Kendrick Born tweet at Aaron Rodgers after
[29:02] Speaker 3: the signing where he said, come on, we're waiting on you,
[29:04] Speaker 3: and he added Aaron Rodgers.
[29:06] Speaker 2: And I think that's that's how this started.
[29:08] Speaker 1: I think people just started like speculating what it would
[29:11] Speaker 1: it be a logical place for him, and you started
[29:13] Speaker 1: to wonder, is there any world where where he goes
[29:16] Speaker 1: elsewhere that would be a spot? Why would he want to?
[29:18] Speaker 1: Why would they want to? It's it's not real. It's
[29:21] Speaker 1: like the the woman on the plane, you know.
[29:24] Speaker 2: Funning at the person.
[29:26] Speaker 1: This person is not real.
[29:27] Speaker 3: Yeah, so the lead story that you decided to go
[29:31] Speaker 3: that is a story about a story not being a story.
[29:35] Speaker 1: Okay, how about if I had led with DJ Reader,
[29:38] Speaker 1: a genuine member of the top one oh one free
[29:41] Speaker 1: Agents of twenty twenty six, signing with the New York
[29:45] Speaker 1: Giants for real money five point five five point twenty
[29:50] Speaker 1: five guaranteed will be paid over six million this year
[29:54] Speaker 1: two years about twelve million this late in free agency.
[29:57] Speaker 1: Pretty good money. Replacing in x ccellent player but plays
[30:01] Speaker 1: the same position in Dexter Lawrence. Should I have led
[30:03] Speaker 1: with that? Yeah, okay, all right.
[30:06] Speaker 2: Only because we had the discussion of mean.
[30:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, Reader, not Dexter Lawrence by any means. No, He's
[30:15] Speaker 1: getting up there in years. PFF liked him a lot
[30:17] Speaker 1: for what it's where still effective. If you're just talking
[30:20] Speaker 1: about run defense and how they played it in the
[30:22] Speaker 1: year twenty twenty five, I would say DJ Reader played
[30:25] Speaker 1: better than Dexter Lawrence. Now he does not give you
[30:28] Speaker 1: any pass rush juice and Dexter Lawrence does. And Dexter
[30:31] Speaker 1: Lawrence has a real ceiling to be one of the
[30:33] Speaker 1: best players at his position. I'm not really saying that
[30:36] Speaker 1: it's a one to one replacement, but considering the situation.
[30:39] Speaker 2: If you're gonna not have Dexter Lawrence, yeah.
[30:42] Speaker 1: If you're gonna have Dexter Lawrence, if you're gonna if
[30:43] Speaker 1: you're gonna tell me, would you rather have DJ Reader
[30:45] Speaker 1: and Francis Maui Noah on a rookie contract or Dexter
[30:51] Speaker 1: Lawrence with a new race. I think it's a reasonable
[30:54] Speaker 1: decision they made. I would make the same. Russell Wilson
[30:57] Speaker 1: has an offer from the Jets, but he's also trying
[31:00] Speaker 1: to drum up some business in terms of being part
[31:02] Speaker 1: of the broadcast crew somewhere possibly CBS. According to Andrew Marshan,
[31:08] Speaker 1: what do you think it? It makes remember there was
[31:13] Speaker 1: like a six week period where it was very anti
[31:16] Speaker 1: Russ a few years ago. Do you remember that I
[31:19] Speaker 1: was probably leading the church.
[31:20] Speaker 2: Well, no, you weren't.
[31:22] Speaker 3: There were some other very notable voices in terms of that,
[31:26] Speaker 3: and it makes me think back of how deleterious that
[31:29] Speaker 3: could be to.
[31:31] Speaker 1: I mean, like in the locker room some of his
[31:33] Speaker 1: ex teammates and well yeah.
[31:34] Speaker 2: There were ex teammates.
[31:35] Speaker 3: There were people on the outside talking about you know,
[31:38] Speaker 3: brief interactions with Russell Willow.
[31:39] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[31:39] Speaker 1: I was not attacking the man's character. Yeah, it was
[31:42] Speaker 1: always just I thought he might not age well.
[31:45] Speaker 3: And so that that's what it made me think of that,
[31:48] Speaker 3: you know, in terms of his ability to be on
[31:51] Speaker 3: TV and people being skeptical Its like is he being
[31:53] Speaker 3: authentic or all this other stuff that could have an
[31:56] Speaker 3: impact here. And my other thought was maybe maybe Russia
[31:59] Speaker 3: JUSTI I don't know, Yeah, just underrated an option. Made
[32:03] Speaker 3: a lot of money, wife, Scott money. You got a
[32:06] Speaker 3: lot of kids. I mean, that'll keep you busy chilling
[32:10] Speaker 3: consider it. Ex athletes probably not getting a great offer
[32:15] Speaker 3: from the Jets, but interesting that he has the offer.
[32:17] Speaker 3: I'm assuming they want an answer on that sooner than later.
[32:20] Speaker 3: And it sounds like, yeah, he's looking to go into media,
[32:22] Speaker 3: just just say something interesting.
[32:24] Speaker 2: You know.
[32:25] Speaker 1: He hasn't always done that in front of a microphone,
[32:27] Speaker 1: but almost no one does that.
[32:28] Speaker 3: Halftime, there was that moment where he was really honest
[32:31] Speaker 3: about the Denver Broncos and the contract.
[32:32] Speaker 2: Yes, more of that, that version of us put it on.
[32:36] Speaker 1: Brian Gudokunst is a general manager in the NFL who
[32:40] Speaker 1: now has been there a minute, like he's almost been
[32:44] Speaker 1: a decade. He spoke this week about the future return
[32:48] Speaker 1: of Micah Parsons Tucker Kraft. Let's take a listen.
[32:51] Speaker 4: Yeah, I know they're doing great. You know, you know,
[32:53] Speaker 4: Touch's been here every day and he's obviously a little
[32:55] Speaker 4: bit ahead of schedules because his injury acted quite earlier
[32:58] Speaker 4: than the mic has did, but gives such as he's
[33:01] Speaker 4: a little bit of a freak and so I think
[33:04] Speaker 4: some of that's taken over and he's doing really well
[33:06] Speaker 4: as well. So truly expect both those guys back early
[33:10] Speaker 4: in the season and that it'll be a big part
[33:11] Speaker 4: of what we're doing moving forward.
[33:12] Speaker 1: That is serious XM Radio Brian kudu Kunz appearing, expect
[33:17] Speaker 1: those guys back early in the season. I know that's
[33:20] Speaker 1: not set in stone, but early in the season. That's
[33:24] Speaker 1: news to me.
[33:25] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's news. Hopefully you know that there.
[33:28] Speaker 3: They wouldn't, you know, come back too early because I
[33:31] Speaker 3: would like to see Tucker Craft and Michael Parsons in
[33:34] Speaker 3: weeks ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen and four to more than one, two,
[33:37] Speaker 3: three and four.
[33:39] Speaker 2: But if they're ready to go, they should go.
[33:41] Speaker 1: When you look at the Packers roster without Micah and
[33:43] Speaker 1: Tucker Craft on the field, it's a lot of like
[33:46] Speaker 1: good but maybe not great, a lot of BB pluses.
[33:48] Speaker 1: Then you put those two guys, that's a different looking team.
[33:51] Speaker 1: They need him at edge Micah obviously, but that position
[33:55] Speaker 1: I think is more of a weakness than they seem
[33:58] Speaker 1: to believe, and I think they should add one of
[34:00] Speaker 1: one of these edges that are out there in free agency.
[34:02] Speaker 1: Our old friend of the show, Tyron Matthew, had him
[34:05] Speaker 1: on atn back in the day, had him on NFL Daily,
[34:09] Speaker 1: always one of the best voices. He's got his own podcast,
[34:12] Speaker 1: and he made some really interesting comments about Alvin Kamara.
[34:18] Speaker 1: And this was all in much support of Alvin Kamara
[34:23] Speaker 1: and the Saints for what it's worth, and he there
[34:26] Speaker 1: was like a four minute clip that got cut down
[34:28] Speaker 1: and people should give the context to the entire clip.
[34:32] Speaker 1: But the nuts of it was that Alvin Kamara was
[34:38] Speaker 1: one of the people that helped to spearhead the firing
[34:41] Speaker 1: of Dennis Allen and that there are some people in
[34:44] Speaker 1: the Saints organization that are a little unhappy with Kamara.
[34:47] Speaker 1: That's basically said like, look, look, you helped to get
[34:50] Speaker 1: Dennis Allen fired, but since then you haven't really produced
[34:55] Speaker 1: at a top level. I can speculate who I think,
[34:59] Speaker 1: I know you think it is. Who do you think
[35:02] Speaker 1: I think it is. I think you think it's the
[35:03] Speaker 1: boss Mickey Loomis. If Dennis Allen loved loved each other,
[35:08] Speaker 1: that was his guy. And yeah, maybe Mickey is a
[35:11] Speaker 1: little salty that Alvin Kamara.
[35:13] Speaker 3: I mean, if, but why would those two things be
[35:16] Speaker 3: related to each other at all? You can believe Dennis
[35:18] Speaker 3: Allen should have been fired and also have nothing like
[35:20] Speaker 3: plenty of people believe that some of them had good seasons,
[35:23] Speaker 3: some of them didn't.
[35:25] Speaker 2: It's just was the two things have to do with
[35:27] Speaker 2: each other.
[35:28] Speaker 1: I guess if if like, you're gonna be that much
[35:30] Speaker 1: of and I wouldn't say a spokesperson, but if you
[35:32] Speaker 1: think that he had that much sway on you Mickey Loomis,
[35:37] Speaker 1: who presumably was part of making the decision to fire
[35:41] Speaker 1: Dennis Allen, although maybe it was ownership. So it's just
[35:44] Speaker 1: to me, this is this is a great use of
[35:47] Speaker 1: a podcast. This is the good stuff to me, just
[35:50] Speaker 1: getting in the Bayou with Tyron Matthew. Uh check that out.
[35:59] Speaker 1: I just thought that's good when you're giving us the
[36:01] Speaker 1: inside scoop that these are the things that happen inside
[36:04] Speaker 1: organizations where people are lifers, which happens in New Orleans.
[36:07] Speaker 1: There are a lot of lifers, not just Loomis, it's
[36:09] Speaker 1: also Alvin Kamara. He's saying he's never going to play anywhere.
[36:13] Speaker 1: So those are like two important people in the history
[36:16] Speaker 1: of the Saints and yeah, just fun.
[36:18] Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think Alvin's gonna eclipse Mickey in
[36:22] Speaker 3: terms of the way people feel about their accomplish.
[36:25] Speaker 1: Well, certainly in terms of the fans. Yes, I just
[36:27] Speaker 1: want to note to you. I know you were tracking
[36:29] Speaker 1: this some c J. Strout's looking CJ Strout is looking
[36:33] Speaker 1: really good in the workout pictures, and he has cut
[36:36] Speaker 1: out all sugar from his diet. All all sugar. That's
[36:40] Speaker 1: what it said that he was only having like water
[36:44] Speaker 1: and uh other stuff that didn't include sugar. That's it
[36:49] Speaker 1: doesn't seem fun.
[36:50] Speaker 3: Yeah, it'd be difficult to you know, because we our
[36:54] Speaker 3: brain runs fruits too.
[36:56] Speaker 1: You know, fruit has a lot of show.
[36:57] Speaker 3: I would hope he's he just means like like overly
[37:00] Speaker 3: processed sugar.
[37:01] Speaker 1: Okay, still has an apple, that's good. I really feel
[37:04] Speaker 1: like CJ. His last season was little misunderstood. He was
[37:08] Speaker 1: literally thirteenth in the NFL and ePaper dropback last year
[37:11] Speaker 1: with a pretty weak offensive line. Like the regular season
[37:14] Speaker 1: was fine, wasn't great, was up and down.
[37:16] Speaker 2: The postseason meltdown being what we remember.
[37:18] Speaker 1: Stefan Diggs was found not guilty of assault and strangulation
[37:21] Speaker 1: in the case that related to a former employee of his.
[37:26] Speaker 1: He is an unsigned free agent currently, so we'll see
[37:30] Speaker 1: if this verdict changes that. And then there's a report
[37:33] Speaker 1: that a deal is close with the NFL refs on
[37:38] Speaker 1: ESPN and that would prevent a lockout from the NFL
[37:41] Speaker 1: refs happening, which would be good news for everyone. Let's
[37:43] Speaker 1: get back to the mail bag where we left off.
[37:48] Speaker 1: What twenty twenty five rookie is set to make a
[37:53] Speaker 1: big leap. This is from Nicki d Williams and shot
[37:56] Speaker 1: out to.
[37:56] Speaker 2: Nicky d Williams All Pro cornerback Travis Hunter.
[38:02] Speaker 1: Yes, that was the first one I put it.
[38:04] Speaker 3: I just think it's gonna happen, you know, not to
[38:07] Speaker 3: just try to like be right in what I said
[38:09] Speaker 3: last year, but just having him play cornerback and be
[38:12] Speaker 3: a good cornerback and fulfill a knee.
[38:14] Speaker 1: Well, all pro would be great. That's the next level.
[38:16] Speaker 2: I think he can be that.
[38:19] Speaker 3: And it's like then it's just a top five pick
[38:21] Speaker 3: on a cornerback, which is a reasonable thing that you
[38:24] Speaker 3: can do.
[38:24] Speaker 1: And so yeah, I'm with you. I'm going to be
[38:28] Speaker 1: hitting that as a take throughout. I'm looking that's what
[38:30] Speaker 1: I've hoping happened since you took Contre. Either of the
[38:32] Speaker 1: first two picks of the draft would be good choices, Camboard,
[38:35] Speaker 1: it would have been another one. I'm gonna go with
[38:37] Speaker 1: two guys. Marion Hampton, I just feel was better than
[38:41] Speaker 1: the final stat showed and could have one of those
[38:46] Speaker 1: second year fantasy running back seasons where suddenly he is
[38:50] Speaker 1: RB four at the end of the season with about
[38:52] Speaker 1: like eighteen hundred yards something like that. Crazy from scrimmage.
[38:54] Speaker 1: And then John Campbell, who I had a pretty up
[38:56] Speaker 1: and down rookie season in terms of just not getting
[38:59] Speaker 1: on the field enough. It's a tough position to learn,
[39:02] Speaker 1: but it's a great place to learn it. And Nikobe
[39:04] Speaker 1: Dean's gone think of a good one too.
[39:05] Speaker 3: Also, Matthew Golden. Yeah, it's just going to have so
[39:08] Speaker 3: many more opportunities.
[39:09] Speaker 1: And in that interview talked him up as a guy
[39:14] Speaker 1: they're excited about. I kind of forgot he had a
[39:16] Speaker 1: good playoff game against the Bears four for eighty four
[39:19] Speaker 1: in that game, made some big plays.
[39:21] Speaker 2: Uh.
[39:21] Speaker 1: This is a specific question for you, Patrick, as the
[39:25] Speaker 1: just Me Momentum expert from a top five receiver on Instagram.
[39:31] Speaker 1: If a team believes momentum is real, wouldn't momentum work
[39:35] Speaker 1: as a placebo effect? I'm not even sure I understand
[39:37] Speaker 1: what this means so well.
[39:38] Speaker 3: What he's saying is because the placebo effect can be
[39:41] Speaker 3: real and in circumstance, certain circumstances such as IBS or
[39:45] Speaker 3: any other thing, you could see a thirty percent improvement
[39:49] Speaker 3: in terms of the power of positive thought historically with
[39:53] Speaker 3: the placebo effect where you do have some.
[39:56] Speaker 1: Situation IBS in irritable bowel syndrome.
[39:59] Speaker 3: Yes, okay, there was one study because you know the
[40:04] Speaker 3: question because it was specifically for me.
[40:06] Speaker 2: I wanted to go in and look up. And so.
[40:10] Speaker 3: The issue with the power of positive thought, yes, with momentum,
[40:15] Speaker 3: is it would be a negative when things will when
[40:19] Speaker 3: bad things would happen.
[40:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be negative moments.
[40:21] Speaker 3: And so if you believe and we're influenced by it,
[40:26] Speaker 3: then you would be influenced negatively when things don't work
[40:28] Speaker 3: out versus the team that acknowledges that good and bad
[40:32] Speaker 3: things happen. The impact that we have on those things
[40:35] Speaker 3: is what can we do in that moment to prevent
[40:37] Speaker 3: the bad things or to make good things happen. And
[40:40] Speaker 3: I believe that team would be advantaged because they wouldn't
[40:44] Speaker 3: have these outside circumstances or belief in this weird sports
[40:48] Speaker 3: deity that we can't describe or explain. They would just
[40:52] Speaker 3: play the game.
[40:53] Speaker 1: What if we just replaced the word momentum with confidence
[40:57] Speaker 1: and while you're playing and well you are feeling I'm
[41:04] Speaker 1: sure you've played sports and had that where like, if
[41:06] Speaker 1: you're playing well, you have a little more confidence in
[41:08] Speaker 1: that day and you're willing to maybe even try some
[41:11] Speaker 1: things on those days you wouldn't on others, and it
[41:13] Speaker 1: goes great. You know, Yeah, that would be good.
[41:16] Speaker 3: There's a great Lebron James quote about not even being
[41:18] Speaker 3: a one leg step back fade kind of guy, but
[41:22] Speaker 3: he's also Lebron James. And I think, like you mentioned,
[41:25] Speaker 3: playing well, that's where the confidence comes from. I just
[41:29] Speaker 3: especially because when we talk we talk about momentum, right,
[41:33] Speaker 3: it's this idea that we know what's going on in
[41:37] Speaker 3: the minds of all these athletes. We don't have access
[41:39] Speaker 3: to all that information, so over describing if we're just
[41:42] Speaker 3: saying confidence, yeah, and the best way to be confident
[41:45] Speaker 3: at something is to be proficient at it. You're not
[41:48] Speaker 3: getting people who are not proficient at you look at
[41:53] Speaker 3: it eighty seven Chrysler engine that needs the work. You
[41:56] Speaker 3: can have the most confident person in the world. If
[41:58] Speaker 3: you don't know what you're doing, then like you're gonna
[42:00] Speaker 3: get in there and start putting water in the oil tank.
[42:04] Speaker 1: So final answer, momentum won't work as a placebo effect.
[42:06] Speaker 1: That's what you're saying.
[42:07] Speaker 2: No, not know what it's gonna make the team better.
[42:10] Speaker 1: Be bad for them A A clad eighty three asks.
[42:14] Speaker 1: Would Kyle Shannan prefer a known quantity as his quote
[42:17] Speaker 1: go to guy to an off the rails tala talented
[42:21] Speaker 1: superstar The word of the use of the word off
[42:23] Speaker 1: the rails doesn't really work here with the example which
[42:25] Speaker 1: is like, what do you have wanted Kirk Cousins over
[42:29] Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes five years ago? And he says, you know
[42:33] Speaker 1: it with context like would Kyle just not want a
[42:35] Speaker 1: guy with the dreaded independence of thought? No, I think
[42:41] Speaker 1: he'd want Mahomes.
[42:42] Speaker 2: Yes, Kyle Shanahan would prefer to have Patrick.
[42:44] Speaker 1: Mahomes, although they famously or not famously enough passed on
[42:47] Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes in the draft where they drafted Solomon Thomas
[42:50] Speaker 1: and had absolutely no one that quarterback, which, weirdly they
[42:52] Speaker 1: don't get any grief.
[42:53] Speaker 3: For they are the franchise in my opinion that's most
[42:56] Speaker 3: prone to like this galaxy brain. Yeah thought, and they
[43:00] Speaker 3: get bailed out because of Kyle Shanahan's ability.
[43:04] Speaker 1: Right, But would Kyle prefer a cousin's style over that?
[43:10] Speaker 1: I don't think the answer is yes. And the ironic
[43:12] Speaker 1: thing when thinking about Burke brock Purty is he's not
[43:16] Speaker 1: that robotic guy. He takes a lot of chances. He
[43:20] Speaker 1: is a little more Mahomesam not in talent, but in
[43:24] Speaker 1: terms of game style, I think actually he's kind of
[43:28] Speaker 1: closer to that than the robot. But he has a
[43:29] Speaker 1: little bit of both. Get I get it.
[43:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, he can do the robotic stuff.
[43:34] Speaker 3: But when brock Party tells you, like next time you're
[43:36] Speaker 3: watching brock Party, like look at his lower half and
[43:38] Speaker 3: look at the way he's moving, like that's it was.
[43:41] Speaker 3: It was a mistake by a lot of the NFL obviously, Yeah,
[43:44] Speaker 3: But to have him last as long as he did, I.
[43:47] Speaker 1: Think the better example here is the Rams drafting Ty
[43:49] Speaker 1: Simpson over Matthew Stafford who very much is the independence
[43:54] Speaker 1: of thought. Probably not going to do everything that you call,
[43:56] Speaker 1: but it's gonna work out. Great guy, really, And the
[43:59] Speaker 1: fact that maybe Sean mcvaze he's ready to go back
[44:03] Speaker 1: to the other guy. It's like you always want the
[44:05] Speaker 1: coach that's the opposite of your last coach or whatever.
[44:10] Speaker 1: Maybe he's kind of going back. He would like more
[44:13] Speaker 1: say a little bit. I think I think that's an okay,
[44:16] Speaker 1: So do you think this is a message. I don't
[44:18] Speaker 1: think it's a message, but I think drafting Ty Simpson,
[44:21] Speaker 1: who to me does not have the supreme athletic traits
[44:25] Speaker 1: that Stafford has and that you could be aiming for
[44:28] Speaker 1: in the first round of the early in the draft,
[44:31] Speaker 1: says something you want maybe a little bit more of
[44:33] Speaker 1: like a system guy. If the Cardinals are as bad
[44:36] Speaker 1: as expected, will Monty Austen for be around to draft
[44:39] Speaker 1: arch Manning. This is from Tom Marshall. It's it's an
[44:46] Speaker 1: interesting because I don't think the Cardinals are going to
[44:48] Speaker 1: be that bad. And the problem is, even if they
[44:50] Speaker 1: are as bad as expected, they might have the fourth
[44:52] Speaker 1: pick or the third pick, and you're not going to
[44:54] Speaker 1: get arch me.
[44:55] Speaker 2: I want to know what Tom thinks the record.
[44:57] Speaker 1: Yeah, to be you would think the Cardinals would be
[44:59] Speaker 1: patient with mont Austin for it, because they just decided
[45:01] Speaker 1: to restart the whole organization again with a new coach.
[45:05] Speaker 1: But the fact that maybe the first pick was made
[45:08] Speaker 1: more by the owner and the coach than the GM.
[45:11] Speaker 1: I think it's a fair question. I think he would
[45:15] Speaker 1: he'd be around. But yeah, I think Arch goes I
[45:20] Speaker 1: think Arch goes one. Sure, so that so then Austin. Yeah,
[45:24] Speaker 1: they have to be worse than the rest of the
[45:27] Speaker 1: entire league. That's a tough thing to do. As you recover, Patrick,
[45:30] Speaker 1: we have a concern listener that is asking are you
[45:34] Speaker 1: picking up any hobbies? You came into the studio today
[45:36] Speaker 1: with a medical bracelet on.
[45:38] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[45:39] Speaker 3: No, oh, George, thank you for the concerns. No, I'm
[45:42] Speaker 3: a horrible patient. I am eagerly pushing to be back
[45:47] Speaker 3: and doing all the things that I like to do
[45:50] Speaker 3: and all those other things I'm just doing slowly.
[45:54] Speaker 1: So yeah, he's moving great. Even last week he was
[45:56] Speaker 1: going up.
[45:57] Speaker 2: This stair thinking the kids fishing Saturday.
[45:59] Speaker 1: There we go.
[45:59] Speaker 2: We're doing all the stuff, Gewords, all.
[46:01] Speaker 1: Right, speed round here for the rest of these probably
[46:04] Speaker 1: not going to get through them all, but I want
[46:05] Speaker 1: to get to as many as we can. Seahawks won
[46:07] Speaker 1: the Super Bowl as a team with an preseason over
[46:10] Speaker 1: under win total of eight point five pretty rare, which
[46:14] Speaker 1: eight point five over under win total team? Could you
[46:17] Speaker 1: best tell a story of replicating that success in what
[46:20] Speaker 1: is the story? Good question from John Byrne on Blue.
[46:23] Speaker 2: Sky Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
[46:24] Speaker 3: Yes, those options also include the entire NFC South. So
[46:29] Speaker 3: if I get a whole division out of.
[46:30] Speaker 1: It, I'll take just get one. You just get one, Okay,
[46:33] Speaker 1: I'll take the Bucks. I would take the Bucks as well.
[46:36] Speaker 1: The story is Baker gets on the heater in the
[46:41] Speaker 1: playoffs and the rest of the roster just placed to
[46:44] Speaker 1: their capability and that they improve innumerably at linebacker. Who
[46:49] Speaker 1: are the teams with less capital in the draft this
[46:51] Speaker 1: year that you thought did well? This is from Ben.
[46:53] Speaker 1: A lot of attention on the teams with multiple first
[46:55] Speaker 1: round picks. The Bengals stand out to me is a
[46:57] Speaker 1: team I liked that didn't have a first round pick.
[47:00] Speaker 3: They did the Chargers didn't have. They had draft capital, well,
[47:02] Speaker 3: they didn't have that much of it. I think they
[47:04] Speaker 3: had a good draft, like that one. What is the
[47:06] Speaker 3: thing you're most optimistic about with the Panthers? This is
[47:10] Speaker 3: from my body, my blood.
[47:12] Speaker 1: There was also a question related to a meme that
[47:14] Speaker 1: I stole to ask the question on Instagram that it's
[47:18] Speaker 1: all the NFC South teams with the same thought bubble,
[47:24] Speaker 1: and that thought bubble says, Wow, this division sucks. Thank
[47:28] Speaker 1: God I'm the only good team here. And the question
[47:31] Speaker 1: was the Panther. The question is the Panthers are the
[47:35] Speaker 1: only team this is? This is right about right from
[47:38] Speaker 1: a Panthers fan, what do you think? No, I think
[47:41] Speaker 1: we have four even teams.
[47:43] Speaker 3: Obviously, you know Baker goes on a heater that that
[47:46] Speaker 3: all changes in shifts. But this is a very competitive
[47:50] Speaker 3: division that's going to beat each other up and make
[47:52] Speaker 3: it look worse than it actually.
[47:53] Speaker 1: The thing I'm most optimistic about the Panthers is the regime,
[47:57] Speaker 1: the front office, coach symbiosis. I think they've gotten a
[48:01] Speaker 1: group that has a long term vision. I think the
[48:03] Speaker 1: moves this offseason have all made sense, like they're building something.
[48:07] Speaker 1: I think all the changeover is gonna stop. Even if
[48:09] Speaker 1: they only win seven eight games this year, I think
[48:11] Speaker 1: they are building towards something. Question from Ricky Fly. Why
[48:16] Speaker 1: did the passing of Rondeale Moore go without mention as
[48:19] Speaker 1: someone heavily involved in mental health work felt like an exclusion.
[48:23] Speaker 1: I did want to address this because I felt bad
[48:26] Speaker 1: that it sort of slipped through the cracks. Rondel Moore,
[48:30] Speaker 1: who died by suicide earlier this year, really sad story.
[48:34] Speaker 1: And I do remember that week that we had some
[48:36] Speaker 1: pre tape shows and it was happened right before like
[48:41] Speaker 1: we were taping. It was combined week and and we
[48:43] Speaker 1: missed that. So is that is my error, but it
[48:46] Speaker 1: certainly wasn't anything intentional. And rest in peace to Rondeale,
[48:52] Speaker 1: you know, tragic end, and to everyone who has had
[48:54] Speaker 1: their life impacted by suicide, to too many of us.
[48:58] Speaker 1: The next question is about tennis when it courts of
[49:02] Speaker 1: thunder coming back. That was my old tennis podcast you
[49:04] Speaker 1: might have missed, Patrick, And there was another question about
[49:07] Speaker 1: men's tennis, and it was kind of talking about also
[49:09] Speaker 1: the NBA or the NFL when it gets too predictable,
[49:12] Speaker 1: that it's very predictable at the very top. Right now
[49:15] Speaker 1: it's always Alcarez and center. Right now Alcarez is hurt,
[49:17] Speaker 1: so then it's even more predictable, it's always center. The
[49:20] Speaker 1: podcast is not coming back, So this is what I'm
[49:22] Speaker 1: doing instead, which is just watch women's tennis. It's way better. Anyways,
[49:27] Speaker 1: It's been way better for the last ten years. I
[49:30] Speaker 1: like the top of men's tennis, but in terms of
[49:32] Speaker 1: the depth and the stories, it's better. And it's also
[49:34] Speaker 1: best of three sets, which is just clearly better, and
[49:36] Speaker 1: the variety of play is better, the drama is a
[49:39] Speaker 1: little better, the unpredictability is better. So just just do
[49:42] Speaker 1: that for now. That's my hot take.
[49:44] Speaker 2: I don't think it's not hot.
[49:46] Speaker 1: No, especially right now. We really do miss Carlos right now.
[49:49] Speaker 1: In the men's game, I'm with you. With a healthy
[49:51] Speaker 1: Jayden Daniels and a rebuilding defense, can the Commanders win
[49:54] Speaker 1: the AFC East, what say.
[49:55] Speaker 3: You, Well, yeah, the NFC East. Yeah, they could definitely
[49:59] Speaker 3: do that. You're not going to win a whole lot
[50:01] Speaker 3: if you give up twenty seven points eleven times like
[50:03] Speaker 3: they did last season. The defense is going to need
[50:06] Speaker 3: to stop somebody. But yeah, Jade's healthy, they can win,
[50:09] Speaker 3: which is like just to say, oh yeah, improve the
[50:12] Speaker 3: defense significantly, and like do they have the personnel to
[50:17] Speaker 3: do That's that's the very I have less questions about
[50:20] Speaker 3: Jayden Daniels than I do about the.
[50:21] Speaker 1: One of the highest variance teams that I can think of.
[50:24] Speaker 1: I think, I think there's a world where they have
[50:26] Speaker 1: a season like they did a couple of years ago,
[50:27] Speaker 1: and it all goes right, and the new coaching hires
[50:31] Speaker 1: really hit, and there's a world where they come in
[50:34] Speaker 1: last place in that division. It could be a tough division.
[50:37] Speaker 1: Should the Colts have moved on from Dana Jones and
[50:39] Speaker 1: just signed Kyler or Gino instead? And then another Colts
[50:42] Speaker 1: fan said, am I crazy? Or are the culture building?
[50:44] Speaker 1: You are crazy? They're not rebuilding? Yeah, Chris ballads in
[50:47] Speaker 1: year ten and yes they should have signed Kyler but
[50:51] Speaker 1: not Gina.
[50:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, they should have signed Kyler if they could have
[50:56] Speaker 3: sign Kyler, clearly. And the reason it seems like a
[50:59] Speaker 3: re build is probably due to the Dimes deal in
[51:02] Speaker 3: the injury. But the team that made the Sauce trade
[51:05] Speaker 3: that's still you know, making these you know, cost cutting
[51:08] Speaker 3: moves to keep the team together that they're not rebuilding.
[51:11] Speaker 1: Final question, oh Rypaks ask why on earth would you
[51:15] Speaker 1: leave bestern Mass aka Western mass That's to me, it's cold,
[51:19] Speaker 1: Bro it's so cold. Some people grow up in a
[51:23] Speaker 1: place and there's weirdly not enough of those people are
[51:26] Speaker 1: not that many and are like, why would anyone choose
[51:29] Speaker 1: to live somewhere so cold? So that's the main reason
[51:31] Speaker 1: I would say. But Western mass beautiful, beautiful place, nice
[51:34] Speaker 1: place to grow up. Why did you leave Alabama?
[51:38] Speaker 2: The job?
[51:38] Speaker 3: Yeah, the job and a very pretty girl moved on here,
[51:42] Speaker 3: and so those those two things.
[51:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, there are more opportunities. I did live in New
[51:47] Speaker 1: York for a long time, which is quite cold as well.
[51:50] Speaker 1: But again, yeah, fun place, but it's always great to
[51:53] Speaker 1: go back. I want to hit one more guys. Pancakes
[51:56] Speaker 1: are waffles? Oh? Okay, we did have a couple.
[51:58] Speaker 2: Well we can speed through.
[51:59] Speaker 1: Okay, we did. We did have a couple of the
[52:01] Speaker 1: one I'm most intrigued by, really, pancake or waffles.
[52:04] Speaker 3: If you're asking me, would I like to try the
[52:06] Speaker 3: best pancake in the world versus the best waffle?
[52:08] Speaker 2: I'm going to go with the pancake.
[52:10] Speaker 3: I believe it takes more skill to create a spectacular
[52:13] Speaker 3: pancake than it does a waffle, which be kind of factoriized.
[52:17] Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm going to slide with the pancake.
[52:19] Speaker 1: I mean I love an eye have waffle. I mean
[52:21] Speaker 1: I have pancake for sure. I love a great pancake.
[52:23] Speaker 1: I think because the waffle is so consistent, you can
[52:26] Speaker 1: just eat that. You can just eat it dry. You
[52:29] Speaker 1: just eat it dry. You can just like walk. You
[52:31] Speaker 1: could be walking in your neighborhood and just eat a waffle.
[52:35] Speaker 1: So I think it's better. Waffles as a hand food
[52:37] Speaker 1: is pretty wild. I've done it. We also got a
[52:42] Speaker 1: best pasta shaped question.
[52:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's my take.
[52:46] Speaker 3: Would would be lukewarm pasta is relative to the structure
[52:50] Speaker 3: of the sauce them that's in there. There's there's no
[52:53] Speaker 3: best there. You just gotta go with the balance for
[52:56] Speaker 3: what you need both time.
[52:57] Speaker 1: It's easy seat seed, he's good like a like a
[53:01] Speaker 1: flat like the flat wide noodle. In general.
[53:04] Speaker 3: Mayor Zuzzoo asked an underripe avocado, very green banana, slightly
[53:08] Speaker 3: undercooked baked potato.
[53:10] Speaker 1: What's the worst? Yeah, of those, I would say an
[53:14] Speaker 1: underripe avocado. That's the one where I'm most like afraid
[53:16] Speaker 1: of my future.
[53:17] Speaker 3: Now because that's the one that you eat the most of,
[53:19] Speaker 3: because like you went through buying this avocado and it's like, ah,
[53:22] Speaker 3: let me eat it anywhere. The potato is inedible.
[53:25] Speaker 5: Greg, you were like audibly upset yesterday when you opened
[53:29] Speaker 5: up a bit into an under over under lipe banana.
[53:32] Speaker 1: Yah, man, I hate very green bananas, and yeah, I
[53:34] Speaker 1: just opened it up. You know. The NFL, and this
[53:38] Speaker 1: has remained true in the ESPN era as we share
[53:41] Speaker 1: the building here really does well with the free snacks
[53:45] Speaker 1: just around the building, fruit snacks, a variety of it.
[53:49] Speaker 1: Let's keep that going. Yeah, I'm knocking on woodows together.
[53:52] Speaker 1: We can be great.
[53:53] Speaker 5: But the bananas are either neon green. No, the bananas
[53:56] Speaker 5: are usually fine. You just got to wait a day
[53:58] Speaker 5: or two. I'm actually gonna lay myself.
[54:00] Speaker 1: They're keeping this stocked well and they just happen to
[54:05] Speaker 1: be a day earlier. Whatever. But I bet today tomorrow
[54:08] Speaker 1: it's gonna be grab one now and you need it tomorrow.
[54:10] Speaker 2: It's the move.
[54:11] Speaker 1: We're not done for this week, Patrick, but you are,
[54:14] Speaker 1: at least in terms of this NFL Daily show, So
[54:16] Speaker 1: good luck.
[54:16] Speaker 2: Yeah in your rehab, Breg just means this particular daily show.
[54:20] Speaker 1: Oh yes, yeah, I'm just saying, well, yeah, Patrick will
[54:23] Speaker 1: be back next week and we will be back in
[54:26] Speaker 1: the feed for a big show. Every Friday. We're gonna
[54:30] Speaker 1: do a big old honk and rankings moving forward this offseason.
[54:34] Speaker 1: First up, our coaches draft, Ollie Connelly and Jordan rod
[54:38] Speaker 1: Riege drafting the best coaches in the league one to
[54:42] Speaker 1: thirty two. I need to get out of here and
[54:43] Speaker 1: start working on my board. We'll see you then.
[54:46] Speaker 2: That's going to get contentious.
