[0:04] Speaker 1: Welcome to NFL Daily, where we are relieved, thrilled, buoyant
[0:12] Speaker 1: that it's finally Draft week. I'm Greg Rosental here in
[0:15] Speaker 1: the Chris Wesley podcast studio, not only excited that we're
[0:18] Speaker 1: just three days away.
[0:18] Speaker 2: From the NFL Draft, but that we've got a lot
[0:21] Speaker 2: to talk about today. Jordan, Rod Graig, are you ready?
[0:24] Speaker 3: I'm so ready, Greg, I'm so freaking fired up. The
[0:27] Speaker 3: week along anticipated week is finally here. We're going live
[0:30] Speaker 3: night one. You should plug that.
[0:32] Speaker 2: That's good, good plug.
[0:33] Speaker 1: Well, we'll have like a juicier plug later in the show,
[0:36] Speaker 1: but I like getting in and nice and early live. Yes,
[0:39] Speaker 1: after round one ends, Jordan and I will be on
[0:44] Speaker 1: on NFL's YouTube and our YouTube as well, So look
[0:47] Speaker 1: forward to that. Let's get right into it because there's
[0:49] Speaker 1: a lot of news and in this show, we're going
[0:51] Speaker 1: to talk about the Dexter Lawrence trade, We're going to
[0:53] Speaker 1: talk about the AJ Brown, whatever the heck's going on
[0:56] Speaker 1: as part of our segment, which is ten things we're
[1:00] Speaker 1: looking forward to that we want to see on Draft weekend.
[1:03] Speaker 1: But yeah, the NFL news world was shook up. There's
[1:06] Speaker 1: a lot of things going on when the draft getting closer,
[1:09] Speaker 1: but nothing as big as the Dexter Lawrence.
[1:11] Speaker 2: Deal to the Bengals.
[1:13] Speaker 1: I love how these things happen, and I want to
[1:16] Speaker 1: break this down a few different ways. Let's stay organized,
[1:19] Speaker 1: so we're going to talk kind of the trade mechanics
[1:21] Speaker 1: of it all first. Then we'll get into probably what's
[1:24] Speaker 1: the most important thing, which is the draft angle for
[1:26] Speaker 1: both the Bengals and the Giants, and then we'll kind
[1:29] Speaker 1: of talk like league wide of it all. But it's
[1:31] Speaker 1: interesting how it went down, Jordan. You get a report
[1:35] Speaker 1: that the Browns are the team offering the best pick
[1:38] Speaker 1: potentially to the Giants, and then about eighteen hours later
[1:43] Speaker 1: it's their division rival, the Bengals, who go way over
[1:47] Speaker 1: the top give up the tenth overall pick, way better
[1:51] Speaker 1: than I was expecting. I was dead wrong on this
[1:53] Speaker 1: podcast guessing what he would be able to get, because
[1:57] Speaker 1: I thought he would require a massive new contract along
[2:02] Speaker 1: with this deal and he's coming off poor play. We
[2:04] Speaker 1: can get into that only part of that is true.
[2:07] Speaker 1: He did not require much of a contract adjustment at
[2:11] Speaker 1: all to me, And so let's start there. What do
[2:14] Speaker 1: you think of how this actually went down between the
[2:18] Speaker 1: Giants and the Bengals making a really stunning one of
[2:22] Speaker 1: the more stunning trades I've seen in a long time.
[2:25] Speaker 3: Well, especially for the Bengals, Greg because it's so not
[2:28] Speaker 3: in their character or recent history to do something like this.
[2:32] Speaker 3: I think that you know, there was a note the
[2:35] Speaker 3: last time they made a trade like this of this caliber,
[2:38] Speaker 3: with this level of pick, it was like nineteen eighty
[2:41] Speaker 3: nine or something like that, before I was born.
[2:43] Speaker 4: Greg Well.
[2:44] Speaker 1: Bill Barnwell has a great piece about looking at this
[2:48] Speaker 1: trade from all sides, and we'll kind of get into
[2:50] Speaker 1: the larger league implications of like what's happening here.
[2:54] Speaker 2: There's only been two trades in the history of.
[2:56] Speaker 1: The NFL for non quarterbacks for a top ten pick,
[2:58] Speaker 1: so it's pretty precedented in general. It's a he's a
[3:02] Speaker 1: twenty eight year old. I'm going to be turning twenty
[3:04] Speaker 1: nine this season. There was a lot of reporting out
[3:08] Speaker 1: there about how like his age. Did you see the
[3:11] Speaker 1: reporting on that The New York Post had about how
[3:13] Speaker 1: the agent, Like, what was your takeaway from all that?
[3:16] Speaker 1: And the money part of it, which is that the
[3:19] Speaker 1: contract only added about five million dollars for this year,
[3:21] Speaker 1: which is not nothing, it's it is five million dollars
[3:23] Speaker 1: about eight million dollars over the next two but the
[3:26] Speaker 1: Bengals also were allowed to add one year to the contract,
[3:29] Speaker 1: which actually I think is helpful to them for twenty
[3:32] Speaker 1: eight million dollars, And so the reporting that he wanted
[3:37] Speaker 1: so much more money seems to fall a little flat
[3:39] Speaker 1: in terms of what happened.
[3:40] Speaker 3: This to me is what it has looked like to
[3:43] Speaker 3: me the entire time, which a player wanting out of
[3:45] Speaker 3: a situation that no longer serves him in the way
[3:47] Speaker 3: that he would like to participate in this in the
[3:51] Speaker 3: Giants program. And for me, the reporting by the New
[3:54] Speaker 3: York Post was really telling to me because it involved
[3:56] Speaker 3: Jol Siegel, his agent, who's a really experienced, like long
[3:59] Speaker 3: time one of the sort of superagent guys we always hear.
[4:03] Speaker 3: As you know, he is League source, right if you
[4:06] Speaker 3: see League Source.
[4:07] Speaker 1: He's also been one of the super agents for what
[4:09] Speaker 1: three decades A.
[4:10] Speaker 5: Long time, yeah, a long time.
[4:11] Speaker 3: And so the fact that this reporting stated that he
[4:16] Speaker 3: did not want to work with Joe Shane, the GM
[4:18] Speaker 3: of the Giants right now, and also that Dexter Lawrence,
[4:24] Speaker 3: according to this report, was not allowed to speak to
[4:28] Speaker 3: or was not going to speak to Joe Shane either
[4:31] Speaker 3: or the team or Barbas.
[4:33] Speaker 1: Specifically, or John Harbaugh. Harbaugh wanted to get on the
[4:35] Speaker 1: phone with them.
[4:36] Speaker 4: Throughout this process.
[4:38] Speaker 3: To me, that tells me that the agent is doing
[4:42] Speaker 3: a his job, which is to sort of take some
[4:44] Speaker 3: of the burden off the player to deal directly with people.
[4:48] Speaker 3: And b that Dexter Lawrence just wanted to get out
[4:52] Speaker 3: of there.
[4:52] Speaker 2: He just wanted out.
[4:53] Speaker 1: This was a poorly run organization and maybe it's going
[4:56] Speaker 1: to change when with John Harbaugh coming aboard. Maybe just
[4:59] Speaker 1: wasn't happy about Joe Shane. But it just sounded like
[5:01] Speaker 1: a guy who wanted out. He said at his press
[5:05] Speaker 1: conference on Monday. When this opportunity came, I jumped at it.
[5:08] Speaker 1: I felt ease when I said I was going to
[5:11] Speaker 1: be a Cincinnati Bengal. I mean, who says that it
[5:14] Speaker 1: felt good to me? A little addendum to the New
[5:17] Speaker 1: York Post reporting, which yes reported that the agent would
[5:21] Speaker 1: only talk to Donna Ponte, who's a new John Harbaugh
[5:25] Speaker 1: Hier who John Harbaugh has report directly to him, and
[5:30] Speaker 1: Chris Mara, who's gotten more in the mix in ownership
[5:35] Speaker 1: and in the front office. Very interesting that none of
[5:38] Speaker 1: those people are the general manager of the team. But yes,
[5:41] Speaker 1: I agree, it points out that it's not about the money.
[5:44] Speaker 1: But the interesting dentum is that item in the New
[5:47] Speaker 1: York Post is no longer there. Really, it's been taken
[5:50] Speaker 1: out this morning plot twist.
[5:53] Speaker 4: I love when you do this. You dropped just a little.
[5:55] Speaker 2: I would have loved to add that.
[5:57] Speaker 1: I'm glad I happened to follow Bobby Skinner on Twitter,
[6:02] Speaker 1: who I think is maybe the best kind of local
[6:05] Speaker 1: podcaster and one of the best reporters covering the Giants.
[6:08] Speaker 1: He does the Giants Nation Pod, and he noted that
[6:11] Speaker 1: it had been removed.
[6:12] Speaker 2: So you can almost and I'm.
[6:14] Speaker 1: Gonna just speculate here, you can just almost imagine the
[6:17] Speaker 1: higher ups, maybe John Harbaugh himself saying this is ridiculous,
[6:21] Speaker 1: or Joe Shane whatever, get that thing out of there.
[6:23] Speaker 2: And they took it out of there.
[6:24] Speaker 3: Greg, I have to tell you it's probably two because
[6:27] Speaker 3: the league is really mattering about this. That's how I
[6:30] Speaker 3: saw it. Is a high ranking league source. Send it
[6:34] Speaker 3: to me the screenshot of.
[6:35] Speaker 1: It, because it was one of those things that didn't
[6:37] Speaker 1: lead the article. But pft's aggregated.
[6:40] Speaker 3: Just to just to say not to sound like a
[6:42] Speaker 3: total douchebag saying that, just to say that, like that,
[6:45] Speaker 3: the league is talking about this, they're watching this job.
[6:48] Speaker 2: I like to stick.
[6:49] Speaker 1: You know, aggregation gets a bad business, a bad reputation.
[6:54] Speaker 1: The only reason the league is even talking about this.
[6:56] Speaker 1: And then PFT wrote an article which makes the is
[6:58] Speaker 1: because I just said, Bobby Skinner cut and pasted something,
[7:02] Speaker 1: which is you have to be subscribed.
[7:04] Speaker 2: You can't just read the New York qotes.
[7:05] Speaker 1: Put that up on Twitter, and then that gets past
[7:07] Speaker 1: the log And so sometimes the reporting actually happens, but
[7:10] Speaker 1: it takes an aggregator to be like, huh, that's interesting
[7:12] Speaker 1: that that's in paragraph eight.
[7:14] Speaker 2: Greg.
[7:15] Speaker 1: Yes, let's get into the idea that the price was
[7:21] Speaker 1: so much. You know, the tenth overall pick. I mentioned
[7:24] Speaker 1: the other two people non or no, I think they
[7:28] Speaker 1: were quarterbacks. Actually it was a Randy Moss trade who
[7:32] Speaker 1: went to the Raiders for a top ten pick. The
[7:34] Speaker 1: other one was actually Russell Wilson, now that I think
[7:37] Speaker 1: of it, so it wasn't non quarterbacks and a guy
[7:40] Speaker 1: who's entering his third contract. I kind of wondered about, like,
[7:44] Speaker 1: is this guy declining the worst two teams in the
[7:47] Speaker 1: NFL last year against the run were the Bengals and
[7:49] Speaker 1: the Giants. So the Bengals were the worst. You think
[7:52] Speaker 1: Dexter Lawrence is going to improve things, but Dexter Lawrence
[7:54] Speaker 1: was there on the second worst. I went back and
[7:56] Speaker 1: watched some of his film and he definitely did disappeared
[8:00] Speaker 1: for games at a time. I think the pass rush
[8:02] Speaker 1: juice is still there. But if you just look at
[8:04] Speaker 1: the numbers his pressure percentage the last four years fourteen percent,
[8:09] Speaker 1: twelve point six percent, nine point six percent, six percent
[8:14] Speaker 1: with most players. If you if you say those stats
[8:17] Speaker 1: like that's a declining player. His pressures uh declined rapidly
[8:22] Speaker 1: last year.
[8:22] Speaker 2: Overall. I thought when I.
[8:24] Speaker 1: Look though, like he he gets a lot of double teams.
[8:26] Speaker 1: He was second in the league in double teams. I
[8:28] Speaker 1: thought the effort, especially on the pass rush was not
[8:30] Speaker 1: a problem. Like you could see that he still has
[8:32] Speaker 1: that juice. He plays three technique too a lot. He's
[8:35] Speaker 1: not always at the nose tackle. If he's you know,
[8:37] Speaker 1: on a guard like he can win those, but he
[8:41] Speaker 1: needs to be way better. Like his run defense grade
[8:43] Speaker 1: in PFF like totally went through the you know floor,
[8:47] Speaker 1: which I don't put that much into but then watching
[8:49] Speaker 1: it like he's not getting off his blocks, he was
[8:51] Speaker 1: not playing as well. He was playing with a bit
[8:54] Speaker 1: of an elbow brace for a while, but he's also
[8:55] Speaker 1: at an elbow injury for a year and a half now.
[8:58] Speaker 1: So like to me, there are are red flags about
[9:01] Speaker 1: paying a guy on his third contract.
[9:03] Speaker 2: And that was the stat by the way, by Barnell.
[9:05] Speaker 1: It was I think guys at that point in their career,
[9:08] Speaker 1: like on a third contract getting traded.
[9:10] Speaker 4: Yes, all of that is fair and logical.
[9:14] Speaker 3: I think I'd be remiss to not add the context
[9:16] Speaker 3: behind some of these stats too, which is that he
[9:20] Speaker 3: was playing for a team.
[9:20] Speaker 4: He did not want to be a part of anymore.
[9:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, and well beyond well before this actual trade request happened,
[9:28] Speaker 3: there was whispers about this as early as two years ago.
[9:31] Speaker 3: This was not necessarily a contract thing for him. We
[9:34] Speaker 3: see it clearly with the amount, the real amount that
[9:37] Speaker 3: they've agreed to in Cincinnati with him. This was about
[9:41] Speaker 3: a player who did not want to be a part
[9:42] Speaker 3: of the organization anymore. And so you know, with all
[9:46] Speaker 3: of that statistical evidence and your eyeball tests and watching
[9:49] Speaker 3: the tape, I think that contextually we sometimes can also
[9:54] Speaker 3: blame some of the infrastructure for the way a player
[9:56] Speaker 3: is or is not performing.
[9:57] Speaker 1: Absolutely, do you get the honeymoon learns just want a
[10:00] Speaker 1: fresh start.
[10:01] Speaker 2: He's still young enough.
[10:02] Speaker 1: This is a position the age as well in general,
[10:05] Speaker 1: to play much better moving forward. You sometimes get that
[10:10] Speaker 1: it's just you know, the number ten overall pick, what
[10:13] Speaker 1: does it say about maybe the draft and like that
[10:17] Speaker 1: they weren't going to get the right guy, and they
[10:19] Speaker 1: really wanted a defensive tackle maybe specifically, they certainly weren't
[10:22] Speaker 1: going to get that in this draft.
[10:23] Speaker 3: That's a great point because I always think you have
[10:25] Speaker 3: to look at these moves not only in a vacuum,
[10:26] Speaker 3: but in the context of the entire draft itself when
[10:30] Speaker 3: it correlates directly to this upcoming draft and this one.
[10:34] Speaker 3: When I look at the Bengals, they are in a
[10:38] Speaker 3: must win type of team build right now. Where to me,
[10:42] Speaker 3: they were sort of teetering on the fence of are
[10:44] Speaker 3: they going.
[10:44] Speaker 5: To do enough this offseason? Will they be aggressive enough
[10:47] Speaker 5: this offseason?
[10:49] Speaker 3: They started their free agency period with a flurry of
[10:52] Speaker 3: moves and then very much fell off a cliff in
[10:55] Speaker 3: terms of their activity. They have a quarterback they absolutely
[10:58] Speaker 3: need to maximize. They have a coach who's what an
[11:00] Speaker 3: during the last year of his contract. They have a
[11:02] Speaker 3: front office that is repeatedly born criticism and a lot
[11:06] Speaker 3: of times rightfully so for the way that it's handled,
[11:09] Speaker 3: the way that it's tried to rebuild this defense. This
[11:11] Speaker 3: is basically them saying, Okay, we understand that this is
[11:15] Speaker 3: a bit of a no man's land at pick ten.
[11:18] Speaker 5: We must maximize.
[11:19] Speaker 3: We must win football games now, we must maximize what
[11:22] Speaker 3: we have on offense. Time to go be aggressive and
[11:24] Speaker 3: trade that pick that we don't think will be as
[11:26] Speaker 3: valuable to us in the short term for a player,
[11:29] Speaker 3: a proven player of Dexter Lawrence is perceived caliber.
[11:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, they could have gotten kailed downs in safety. Perhaps
[11:35] Speaker 1: they could have had their pick of probably the top
[11:37] Speaker 1: cornerbacks in this and maybe weren't going to get a
[11:39] Speaker 1: defensive line.
[11:40] Speaker 3: It's them telling you what they think about the draft.
[11:43] Speaker 3: It's them telling you what they think about Dexter Lawrence.
[11:46] Speaker 3: We all have our own thoughts and everything, but this
[11:48] Speaker 3: is the Bengals telling you where they think they are
[11:51] Speaker 3: and what they think of this draft and the player
[11:54] Speaker 3: they just acquired. And so they might be wrong, they
[11:56] Speaker 3: might be right, right. But I always think it's very
[11:59] Speaker 3: interesting when it's makes multiple statements with one move.
[12:03] Speaker 1: And I think the statement is also what you were
[12:05] Speaker 1: getting at at the beginning. They have to win now,
[12:07] Speaker 1: I think this. You always have to be a little
[12:09] Speaker 1: worried when regimes make choices based on not wanting to
[12:14] Speaker 1: get fired. They have not made the playoffs three straight years.
[12:17] Speaker 1: I feel like that, Like, it's just crazy to me
[12:19] Speaker 1: if you had told me when they lost that what
[12:22] Speaker 1: divisional round game the year after they made the Super
[12:24] Speaker 1: Bowl rather the conference championship, that they weren't going to
[12:28] Speaker 1: be back in the playoffs for three years, and you
[12:30] Speaker 1: can say, oh, Joe Burrow's hurt a lot. They're nineteen
[12:32] Speaker 1: and sixteen. In Joe Burrow starts, They're a mediocre team
[12:36] Speaker 1: in Joe Burrow starts. So to me, it's a huge risk.
[12:39] Speaker 1: I think dexter Lawrence for the price that they paid
[12:42] Speaker 1: in terms of the draft capital, and then also you know, financially,
[12:45] Speaker 1: he's going to be one of the most expensive players
[12:47] Speaker 1: on the team. He needs to be better than he's
[12:50] Speaker 1: been the last you know, year, year and a half.
[12:53] Speaker 1: He had three years at the start of his career
[12:54] Speaker 1: was a good player. Then he had three years where
[12:58] Speaker 1: he was one of the ten best players in the
[13:00] Speaker 1: entire NFL. I know he only made second team All Pros,
[13:03] Speaker 1: but he was in the mix of a defensive Player
[13:04] Speaker 1: of the Year period in twenty twenty four before he
[13:07] Speaker 1: suffered this injury. He needs to be like super duper
[13:11] Speaker 1: and not just really good in terms of being a
[13:13] Speaker 1: star to make it worth it. Whereas from the Giants
[13:16] Speaker 1: and let's get to their like drafting. Actually let's hear
[13:19] Speaker 1: from Dexter Laurence who who did talk I said at
[13:22] Speaker 1: a podium, But there also was like a fun image
[13:24] Speaker 1: of him arriving in Cincinnati after he passed that physical
[13:29] Speaker 1: and walking out the hollow field in the.
[13:32] Speaker 4: Chills, just goes to win.
[13:36] Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that was him, you know, entering pay Corps Stadium.
[13:42] Speaker 4: He is a good podcaster already, he knows to.
[13:44] Speaker 2: Hedge and I love what he's like.
[13:46] Speaker 1: I got it chills, And actually later in comments to
[13:50] Speaker 1: Jeff Hobson of the team's website, he said he got
[13:52] Speaker 1: the chills, but.
[13:53] Speaker 2: I liked it the moment.
[13:53] Speaker 1: He was like, well, I got the chills, but it
[13:55] Speaker 1: wasn't because of all the great memories I know that
[13:57] Speaker 1: have happened.
[13:57] Speaker 2: At pay Core stadiums because it's cold.
[13:59] Speaker 1: It's cold and Cincinnati, but he said he picked up
[14:01] Speaker 1: a little bit of the turf on the field. He says,
[14:04] Speaker 1: I enjoy pressure. I enjoy being under that type of light.
[14:07] Speaker 1: I write down notes, and my notes are let my
[14:09] Speaker 1: light shine and keep joy. Don't let anything steal your joy.
[14:13] Speaker 1: And I think that gets to your point. That feels
[14:16] Speaker 1: like a very direct statement of like I let the
[14:19] Speaker 1: giants in the situation steal my joy.
[14:21] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[14:22] Speaker 1: Carl Banks, their great radio guy and Giants legend, got
[14:26] Speaker 1: a ton of criticism locally for basically saying how unhappy
[14:30] Speaker 1: Dexter Lawrence was last year, that they need more out
[14:33] Speaker 1: of him, and everyone killed him, even though in the organization,
[14:37] Speaker 1: I think everyone probably agreed from with him. I think
[14:40] Speaker 1: he was I think he was right, and that's why
[14:41] Speaker 1: you can hope to get a better Dexter Lawrences.
[14:43] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[14:44] Speaker 3: I love that point, you know, it is something It's interesting.
[14:47] Speaker 3: I think about this a lot, and I think about
[14:49] Speaker 3: athletes at the peak of their powers basically, and athletes
[14:52] Speaker 3: at the peak of whatever gifts they have that make
[14:56] Speaker 3: them who they are, and then what happens when they
[14:59] Speaker 3: don't feel that the those gifts are being maximized. You
[15:02] Speaker 3: see it manifest in different ways. There are psychological studies
[15:05] Speaker 3: about this, and I think that more reflection, I think
[15:10] Speaker 3: by any organization should be done.
[15:12] Speaker 4: More studies should be done on this type of thing.
[15:15] Speaker 3: But it also includes needing some self awareness from the team,
[15:18] Speaker 3: and we just haven't really seen that from the Giants.
[15:21] Speaker 1: The Giants, it's a home run of a trade. I
[15:25] Speaker 1: like the Bengals is great. I thought when when Dexter
[15:28] Speaker 1: Lawrence wanted to get traded in general, I thought some
[15:32] Speaker 1: of the reaction was like, oh, it's the Giants blown
[15:34] Speaker 1: it again. I thought, like, this is an opportunity because
[15:36] Speaker 1: I think where they're at with their team build. I
[15:38] Speaker 1: know they're going to try to win this year. With
[15:39] Speaker 1: John Harbaugh getting a draft pick and getting off this
[15:42] Speaker 1: contract is great, and now you have the five and
[15:45] Speaker 1: the ten pick.
[15:45] Speaker 2: What are you laughing about?
[15:47] Speaker 3: It's just like, what mare does John Harbaugh specifically want here,
[15:50] Speaker 3: you know, other than to keep one of his best players.
[15:52] Speaker 3: I know, but I know it was like he's making
[15:55] Speaker 3: the picks. Apparently that's what the chatter is. Yeah, you know.
[15:59] Speaker 1: Your colleague Dane Bugler said that, and that seems I
[16:02] Speaker 1: little Bugler bomb. That seems clear that he is in
[16:06] Speaker 1: charge and he's in charge of everything. And so now
[16:09] Speaker 1: you have five and ten and the early and a
[16:12] Speaker 1: buzz not that early anymore is defense, and we're going
[16:18] Speaker 1: to get into some of the things I'm looking for.
[16:19] Speaker 1: But they're one of the new franchises, like I always
[16:22] Speaker 1: look at like statement of intent for new regimes, and
[16:25] Speaker 1: this is a new regime, and there's a lot of time.
[16:27] Speaker 1: You know, buzz of like one of the Ohio State defenders,
[16:32] Speaker 1: if not too makes sense for the type of tone
[16:35] Speaker 1: that they want to set. Now, that could be sunny
[16:37] Speaker 1: styles at linebacker. That could be Rvel Reese if he
[16:40] Speaker 1: falls to five, which feels unlikely. I think if there's
[16:43] Speaker 1: anyone trading up in this draft, it might be a
[16:45] Speaker 1: small trade up for Reese if he did fall past two,
[16:49] Speaker 1: or maybe even David Bailey pass too. And then there's
[16:52] Speaker 1: Caleb Downs at safety. Now with five and ten in theory,
[16:56] Speaker 1: you could end up with both. And then there's a
[16:58] Speaker 1: lot of people. Pete Tray at ESPN others are hitting
[17:02] Speaker 1: around at this are Mike Garriffalo reported that Joe Shane
[17:07] Speaker 1: personally visited the Jordan Tyson workout and had dinner with
[17:12] Speaker 1: him just last week. Uh, the wide receiver and that
[17:16] Speaker 1: a lot of people think he could go as early
[17:19] Speaker 1: as number ten.
[17:20] Speaker 2: What are you laughing about again? Just a lot.
[17:24] Speaker 3: It's just everything that we've sort of learned and said about,
[17:28] Speaker 3: like Joe Shane's role.
[17:29] Speaker 4: It's like, what if this is a smoke screen.
[17:32] Speaker 2: That's what I think it is. I I think that
[17:35] Speaker 2: is his role.
[17:35] Speaker 1: I think it is a smoke screen because when all
[17:38] Speaker 1: the insiders but they're not, it seems a little too
[17:44] Speaker 1: much that like suddenly everyone's like Jordan Tyson.
[17:47] Speaker 2: It probably did the giants.
[17:48] Speaker 1: And I'm even like parsing like which insiders things are
[17:53] Speaker 1: coming from, because different ones get different things, and and
[17:56] Speaker 1: I tend to agree to me it seems more likely.
[18:00] Speaker 1: And we'll get into my mock draft later in the
[18:02] Speaker 1: week that Benga Yuana would be the surprise number ten
[18:08] Speaker 1: overall pick, because that seems to me like a statement
[18:11] Speaker 1: of intent that John Harbaugh would do. You get the
[18:13] Speaker 1: Ohio State defender, whoever it is, at five, and then
[18:16] Speaker 1: Yuanna at the top guard in the draft at ten,
[18:19] Speaker 1: and you feel pretty good that he's going to be
[18:20] Speaker 1: there or or you just get two Ohio State defenders.
[18:23] Speaker 1: I don't Jordan Tyson doesn't make.
[18:24] Speaker 2: Sense to me. What do you think?
[18:26] Speaker 4: I can't wait to see your mind.
[18:27] Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, We've spent a long time on this, but
[18:31] Speaker 1: I did want to just say, as a league trend,
[18:34] Speaker 1: big picture, non quarterbacks are going higher. And barn will
[18:37] Speaker 1: help point this out. Quinnon Williams, Max Crosby, which was
[18:43] Speaker 1: you know, they renegged on it, but they were sending
[18:46] Speaker 1: still counted. Yeah sas Gardner now Dexter Lawrence. Guys on
[18:52] Speaker 1: their third contract are just this is a fairly new development.
[18:59] Speaker 1: Before that, there just weren't a lot of high picks,
[19:02] Speaker 1: like I said, getting traded for him, or first round
[19:04] Speaker 1: picks in general getting traded for non quarterbacks, especially entering
[19:09] Speaker 1: their third contract.
[19:10] Speaker 2: There's been some.
[19:11] Speaker 1: Stafford was one, DeVante Adams was one, Tyreek Hill was one.
[19:14] Speaker 1: Like you go through these and there's probably more misses
[19:17] Speaker 1: than hits. There were nine total trades for a first
[19:20] Speaker 1: round pick sent for a veteran defensive player in a
[19:23] Speaker 1: fifteen year span leading up to this last year. In
[19:27] Speaker 1: this draft alone, there's four Mcduffi's the other one, Ye Saftgarter,
[19:32] Speaker 1: Micah Dexter, And yeah, it's just people are kind of
[19:38] Speaker 1: looking at the FM PIX model. I think the Rams
[19:41] Speaker 1: and then a little less so the Eagles and the
[19:43] Speaker 1: Patriots from the last decade. I think I've influenced people
[19:45] Speaker 1: to give up those picks a little more for veterans.
[19:48] Speaker 3: Yeah, but I also think that it goes hand in
[19:50] Speaker 3: hand with a real cautiousness around these draft classes that
[19:57] Speaker 3: are coming out, especially at position where you might be
[20:01] Speaker 3: changing defensive schemes you don't know well into the future
[20:04] Speaker 3: or what your developmental track can potentially be for that prospect.
[20:08] Speaker 3: You know, you mentioned the Rams and them sort of
[20:10] Speaker 3: trend setting on a lot of this. I joke all
[20:13] Speaker 3: the time, it's not really a joke in my mind
[20:15] Speaker 3: that they just figured out they can't draft corners, so
[20:18] Speaker 3: they go and trade for them. So it's like a
[20:21] Speaker 3: situation where it's also like understanding where some of your
[20:25] Speaker 3: weak spots are or where your blind spots are. And
[20:27] Speaker 3: I think some of these draft classes post COVID season
[20:30] Speaker 3: nil era, all of this movement, all of these things
[20:33] Speaker 3: that people are trying at these organizations are trying to
[20:35] Speaker 3: get their feet back under them and understand where these
[20:38] Speaker 3: cycles are actually going to be from college football into
[20:42] Speaker 3: the NFL. I do think that's a part of it, too,
[20:45] Speaker 3: is trading for proven players at premium, specifically premium positions,
[20:51] Speaker 3: versus betting on picks that they are less certain of
[20:54] Speaker 3: than they normally are, which already is about a thirty
[20:56] Speaker 3: to forty percent hit rate.
[20:58] Speaker 1: Right if it wasn't for the content of it all
[21:01] Speaker 1: than the Dexter Lawrence, Like I keep seeing like, of
[21:03] Speaker 1: course I'd rather have Dexter Lawrence intent overal pick. Well, yeah,
[21:05] Speaker 1: of course, I mean because but he's making as much
[21:08] Speaker 1: money in this one year as the entire contract. Yeah,
[21:11] Speaker 1: and they and they have been poor drafting defensive linemen,
[21:14] Speaker 1: and they've been poor building out their defensive line room.
[21:17] Speaker 1: And everyone is really excited about the new room. And
[21:20] Speaker 1: it's like, we'll see boy Mafe. I like that as
[21:24] Speaker 1: a signing. But he's now their number one edge they
[21:26] Speaker 1: had they only have Miles Murphy across from him and
[21:30] Speaker 1: Shamar Stewart, who did nothing as a rookie. Miles Murphy's
[21:32] Speaker 1: been a disappointment. BJ Hill's a good player to put
[21:35] Speaker 1: next to Dexter Lawrence and they signed Jonathan Allen, so
[21:37] Speaker 1: their defensive tackle position like looks much better on paper.
[21:41] Speaker 1: But add that al up and it's like I would
[21:44] Speaker 1: say the hope should be to be average.
[21:48] Speaker 2: I don't.
[21:48] Speaker 1: I don't think that's a group that's gonna be like
[21:49] Speaker 1: a difference making group.
[21:51] Speaker 2: Maybe a little better. I guess the hope is to
[21:52] Speaker 2: be if.
[21:53] Speaker 5: They can be average.
[21:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, if they can literally just brawl to average Joe
[21:59] Speaker 3: Burrow and that all defence, that lifts that floor for
[22:02] Speaker 3: that team and lifts that ceiling for that team enormously.
[22:04] Speaker 5: I mean, some of those losses, Rudy he.
[22:06] Speaker 3: Scoring thirty five for almost forty points a game, and
[22:09] Speaker 3: they're still losing because the defense is giving up more.
[22:12] Speaker 3: If you can just crawl to the mean on defense,
[22:15] Speaker 3: then if you have a top five, top ten offense.
[22:18] Speaker 3: A lot of coaches, a lot of organizations believe they
[22:20] Speaker 3: can win that way, for better for worse.
[22:21] Speaker 2: That is their path.
[22:23] Speaker 1: And I'm glad you brought up Burrow before we take
[22:24] Speaker 1: a break, which is just that I think if they
[22:28] Speaker 1: don't make the playoffs for the fourth straight year, the
[22:30] Speaker 1: whole like, could Joe Burrow pull a Yannis, you know,
[22:34] Speaker 1: and try to force his way out or make it
[22:37] Speaker 1: a little clear that he's not happy. Following in the
[22:41] Speaker 1: footsteps of Carson Palmer back in the day, there has
[22:44] Speaker 1: to be some concern about that. And so this is
[22:46] Speaker 1: a big year for this entire regime.
[22:48] Speaker 2: Let's win.
[22:49] Speaker 1: Now, let's take a break, and we'll come back with
[22:51] Speaker 1: the rest of the news and then ten things we
[22:53] Speaker 1: want to see in the twenty twenty sixth draft. Good
[22:57] Speaker 1: to be back in the studio, back on NFL Daily
[23:09] Speaker 1: on this big Patriots Day.
[23:11] Speaker 4: Oh god, I was whistling with the theme. I knew
[23:13] Speaker 4: this was coming in.
[23:14] Speaker 1: Not a lot of awareness in the studio or behind
[23:18] Speaker 1: the glass about the official Massachusetts holiday Patriots. They not
[23:22] Speaker 1: celebrating the football team, but a civic holiday observed to
[23:27] Speaker 1: you know, celebrate the opening battles.
[23:29] Speaker 2: Of the Revolutionary War.
[23:31] Speaker 1: You got the marathon, you got the Red Sox game
[23:34] Speaker 1: starting at eleven am. It's already over by the time
[23:36] Speaker 1: we started taping this. And then everyone gets it off
[23:39] Speaker 1: and you feel like a special little flower that the
[23:40] Speaker 1: rest of the country's going to school while you have
[23:43] Speaker 1: it off.
[23:44] Speaker 2: Big Day.
[23:45] Speaker 1: You know what else, the Big Day Thursday, the NFL Draft.
[23:47] Speaker 1: We are going live on YouTube after the draft. It'll
[23:53] Speaker 1: be Jordan Rodrigue and myself and yeah, really looking forward
[23:58] Speaker 1: to that. And so yeah, do the little thing where
[24:01] Speaker 1: you save it and you get enough options during the draft.
[24:04] Speaker 2: Who needs that?
[24:05] Speaker 1: The second it's over, you don't have to wait for
[24:08] Speaker 1: the podcast, but you could do both.
[24:10] Speaker 2: Listen.
[24:11] Speaker 3: So you're saying, the entire state of Massachusetts also has
[24:14] Speaker 3: a day off on April twentieth.
[24:18] Speaker 2: Four to twenty.
[24:19] Speaker 1: Bro Oh, that's what Dave Danishek would would say every
[24:24] Speaker 1: time it turned four to twenty in our NFL Network newsroom,
[24:28] Speaker 1: which was like funny the first seventy five hundred times,
[24:33] Speaker 1: but once he got into like the four hundredth, five
[24:36] Speaker 1: hundredth time, it happened like it was even funnier.
[24:38] Speaker 4: But yes, art is subjective.
[24:40] Speaker 2: I just I just.
[24:41] Speaker 1: Learned Maine has it off too. I didn't know that,
[24:44] Speaker 1: let's let's actually wrap up the Giants because literally, as
[24:47] Speaker 1: we were taking a break, Odell Beckham, we learned is
[24:50] Speaker 1: in the building taking a physical. So we don't know
[24:52] Speaker 1: if that means he's gonna get signed with it. That's interesting.
[24:54] Speaker 1: Doing a little bit of a workout seems like this
[24:56] Speaker 1: thing might actually happen. I also note saw this little
[25:00] Speaker 1: report that like, hey, Dexter Lawrence, he doesn't like to
[25:02] Speaker 1: work that you know, this report kind of dogging him.
[25:05] Speaker 1: Dexter Lawrence doesn't like to work that hard Monday to Saturday.
[25:08] Speaker 1: And he wasn't necessarily looking forward to the John Harbaugh
[25:11] Speaker 1: era Harbor known as a task master. And that made
[25:14] Speaker 1: me think of this appearance that Zay Flowers had on
[25:17] Speaker 1: the Fourth and South podcast hosted by Jarvis Landry and
[25:21] Speaker 1: Leonard Fournette. M you know, look, I think Jarvis is
[25:25] Speaker 1: from New Orleans. Anyone from New Orleans is immediately just
[25:28] Speaker 1: got a little extra something to them. And Leonard Fournette
[25:30] Speaker 1: from the area too. Bet it's entertaining. Za Flowers got
[25:33] Speaker 1: a little notice last week. I thought said, quote, however
[25:36] Speaker 1: many practices and pads you can get, we're doing every
[25:39] Speaker 1: single one talking about Harbaugh, uh one on ones in
[25:42] Speaker 1: week seventeen. Everybody out there were tired, was still going later.
[25:46] Speaker 1: He's like, that's why I think we had a lot
[25:48] Speaker 1: of injuries because of how we practice, how we went.
[25:51] Speaker 1: The load was heavy, and people were like, you know,
[25:55] Speaker 1: how could have we didn't hear this from players when
[25:57] Speaker 1: they were in BALLD tour, was like.
[25:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, we did.
[25:59] Speaker 1: Ed Reid talked about it openly that he never agreed
[26:03] Speaker 1: with John harbaughd didn't really like how Harbad did business.
[26:06] Speaker 1: Ed Reid was at the end of his career when
[26:08] Speaker 1: Harbaugh came aboard and they won a Super Bowl together.
[26:10] Speaker 1: But interesting just thinking about that, with Harbaugh landing in
[26:14] Speaker 1: New York, it's all a piece of the puzzle.
[26:17] Speaker 4: Old school man.
[26:18] Speaker 3: It's old school and you're gonna like it or you're
[26:21] Speaker 3: not going to be on the team anymore kind of mentality.
[26:24] Speaker 2: So they have had a lot of injuries.
[26:25] Speaker 1: I don't know, though, I don't know enough to say
[26:29] Speaker 1: that practicing in full pads, which is out of step.
[26:33] Speaker 1: You know that late in the season is a bad idea.
[26:36] Speaker 1: I mean, the Chiefs have been famously running a harder
[26:38] Speaker 1: training camp than everyone else over the last five ten years,
[26:42] Speaker 1: and that's worked well for them.
[26:43] Speaker 2: So who knows.
[26:45] Speaker 1: Let's go to some news because, like I said, we're
[26:47] Speaker 1: gonna get to the aj brown stuff later. We got
[26:49] Speaker 1: to fly through this, We got to get through a segment.
[26:50] Speaker 1: But a lot has happened, a lot of contracts. Let's
[26:52] Speaker 1: start with Trent Williams. It gets done two years, fifty
[26:55] Speaker 1: million dollars. He gets thirty seven million dollars guaranteed on
[26:58] Speaker 1: this contract, adds a lot of money guaranteed in twenty
[27:03] Speaker 1: twenty seven, so it seems to basically lock him in
[27:08] Speaker 1: through his age thirty nine season unless things just went
[27:12] Speaker 1: horribly wrong this year. And even in that case, he's
[27:15] Speaker 1: earned some money in to next year. So good to
[27:17] Speaker 1: see that he got his deal done.
[27:20] Speaker 4: Yeah, which is what we all expected.
[27:22] Speaker 3: It's just one of those things where John Lynch and
[27:24] Speaker 3: company just kind of keeps avoiding the problem until it
[27:27] Speaker 3: becomes a much bigger problem than it actually is.
[27:29] Speaker 4: If he can still go, then he will.
[27:31] Speaker 3: I don't think that this precludes them from attacking the
[27:36] Speaker 3: position in the draft, trying to find what the dex
[27:38] Speaker 3: development plan of the.
[27:39] Speaker 4: Next player will be.
[27:41] Speaker 3: But yeah, this is kind of like the rest of
[27:43] Speaker 3: the roster is so top heavy you might as well
[27:46] Speaker 3: roll till the wheels fall off on this one.
[27:48] Speaker 1: Matt Barrows report or just made a tweet like joking
[27:52] Speaker 1: half joking that he just thinks John Lynch didn't want
[27:54] Speaker 1: to do another press conference where he said that a
[27:56] Speaker 1: Trent Williams contract was imminent and he has a press
[27:58] Speaker 1: conference on Monday, and that was like his soft line.
[28:01] Speaker 1: And I'll give them some credit because they've dragged these
[28:04] Speaker 1: things out over and over into training camp and they've
[28:07] Speaker 1: been trying to avoid that.
[28:08] Speaker 2: They even said that was a goal for them. So
[28:10] Speaker 2: this is early now.
[28:11] Speaker 5: It was just happening up in Washington.
[28:13] Speaker 1: You know, right, And Trent Williams, it is interesting to
[28:15] Speaker 1: think when he got traded to the forty nine ers.
[28:18] Speaker 1: I even remember saying back on a round the NFL,
[28:19] Speaker 1: I was like it sounds crazy, but like he's not
[28:23] Speaker 1: that far away from like a guy that has a
[28:26] Speaker 1: Hall of Fame candidacy at the time, Like he has
[28:29] Speaker 1: to just add on a few more years and like
[28:31] Speaker 1: he's going to have a candidcy now it's just a
[28:33] Speaker 1: you know, he might be first ballot, Like it's just
[28:35] Speaker 1: assumed he's one of the best tackles of all time.
[28:37] Speaker 1: So what a trade that turned out to be for
[28:38] Speaker 1: the forty nine ers. Speaking of a team getting contracts
[28:41] Speaker 1: done earlier and earlier, let's give the Cowboys some love.
[28:44] Speaker 1: Brandon Aubrey twenty eight million dollars over four years, twenty
[28:47] Speaker 1: million dollars guaranteed ten million dollars in his first year,
[28:51] Speaker 1: so the seven million per year not nearly like what
[28:55] Speaker 1: he was reportedly looking for. But the fact that he's
[28:58] Speaker 1: getting paid ten million dollars this year is breaking major
[29:02] Speaker 1: barriers for a kicker, and even the average is pretty good,
[29:06] Speaker 1: and he'll probably go looking for more money by the
[29:08] Speaker 1: end of this contract.
[29:09] Speaker 2: So the Cowboys didn't drag it out. Good job. I
[29:12] Speaker 2: don't know if there's much to say about that.
[29:13] Speaker 1: How about Will Anderson getting one hundred and fifty million
[29:15] Speaker 1: dollars in a three year extension. A one hundred and
[29:18] Speaker 1: thirty four million dollars garn tied for will Anderson. He
[29:24] Speaker 1: is now locked up, and I think the word extension
[29:26] Speaker 1: is really important here. He had two years left on
[29:29] Speaker 1: his rookie contract, so that changes the whole average money
[29:32] Speaker 1: he had the fifth year option. It's great for him.
[29:35] Speaker 1: All this guaranteed money is right at the top of
[29:38] Speaker 1: defensive players in the history of the NFL, so he's
[29:41] Speaker 1: earned that. But also they control his rights through twenty thirty,
[29:44] Speaker 1: which is a really long time. I know you're a
[29:47] Speaker 1: big fan of Will Anderson and just kind of like
[29:52] Speaker 1: maybe the biggest weight bearing wall right now in that organization.
[29:55] Speaker 3: Yeah, he is the present in the future for that team,
[29:58] Speaker 3: and you can compare him with you know, Daniel Hunter
[30:02] Speaker 3: has been great paired opposite him obviously, but you could
[30:04] Speaker 3: You're gonna be able to pair him with any type
[30:06] Speaker 3: of rusher because he can do everything. He is absolutely
[30:10] Speaker 3: a incredible sort of queen on a chessboard type player
[30:16] Speaker 3: where you can do so many different things mathematically because
[30:19] Speaker 3: of who he is as a franchise.
[30:21] Speaker 4: Like you said, weight bearing Wall.
[30:23] Speaker 3: I also like that they did it early. This is
[30:25] Speaker 3: smart business. This is extend your your best players, extend
[30:28] Speaker 3: your players who you know are going to be around
[30:30] Speaker 3: for the long term, and do it before.
[30:33] Speaker 4: You know he even reaches his prime. He's not even
[30:36] Speaker 4: there yet, and do it before he potentially costs way
[30:39] Speaker 4: way more.
[30:40] Speaker 1: Right, And this is going to aid it well for
[30:42] Speaker 1: the Texans, and he'll, if he plays as well as
[30:45] Speaker 1: he's played so far, will want more money once you
[30:47] Speaker 1: get into year three of that. But that's the great
[30:49] Speaker 1: thing of these longer extensions. So the average is not
[30:52] Speaker 1: that crazy, even though per year, just on the three
[30:55] Speaker 1: year extension it's quite a bit. It does show the
[30:57] Speaker 1: difference between him and CJ. Stroud, not that we needed
[30:59] Speaker 1: a contract to explain that to us, but like there,
[31:02] Speaker 1: I don't think they're working on a big contract extension
[31:05] Speaker 1: for CG. Strawd two years ago at this time, like
[31:07] Speaker 1: you would have thought that they're getting it together. I
[31:10] Speaker 1: have a comp for Willie Anderson by the way of
[31:13] Speaker 1: what he means to the Texans and the type of
[31:15] Speaker 1: career that he's having because I kind of remembered him
[31:17] Speaker 1: as a draft prospect when they gave up they gave
[31:20] Speaker 1: up the number twelve pick in that draft. The they
[31:25] Speaker 1: the thirty three pick in that draft, and then a
[31:27] Speaker 1: first and a third the following year, so to first.
[31:30] Speaker 1: But you know, you get Willie Anderson and you know,
[31:33] Speaker 1: a high second, the first pick of the second draft
[31:36] Speaker 1: and a third, Well, you got to be great. And
[31:37] Speaker 1: people were wondering does he have the ceiling? Like is
[31:40] Speaker 1: he ever gonna be Miles Garrey? He's not quite that
[31:42] Speaker 1: bendy and twitchy. Is he ever gonna be the best
[31:44] Speaker 1: edge in the game. And it's funny to think about
[31:47] Speaker 1: that now and maybe he's not quite. And this is
[31:50] Speaker 1: where my comp comes in of what he means to
[31:52] Speaker 1: them and where he is in the in the stratosphere.
[31:55] Speaker 1: Is he like there Larry Fitzgerald as a player, because
[31:58] Speaker 1: Larry Fitzgerald people kind of think of and now he's
[32:00] Speaker 1: like he's one of the great receivers all the time,
[32:02] Speaker 1: But he was never like the guy. He was always
[32:03] Speaker 1: like the third or fourth best receiver in the league,
[32:06] Speaker 1: but just consistently throughout his whole career. Obviously he had
[32:09] Speaker 1: that great playoff run, like he had moments. I'm not
[32:11] Speaker 1: trying to downplay him, but that's kind of Will Anderson
[32:14] Speaker 1: to me. It's like, yeah, there might be one or
[32:16] Speaker 1: two guys that are just like a little higher than
[32:18] Speaker 1: you at the NFL level, but what you mean to
[32:19] Speaker 1: the franchise and the consistency of being a top five
[32:22] Speaker 1: guy at your position over and over and over and
[32:25] Speaker 1: maybe a future Hall of Famer maybe.
[32:26] Speaker 3: But I think that one of the elements of the
[32:29] Speaker 3: Larry Fitzgerald conversation was relative to his peers, they were
[32:33] Speaker 3: all kind of in the same area of their career.
[32:36] Speaker 3: I'd say, will Anderson, like I said, has not even
[32:39] Speaker 3: entered his proc years yet. Some of these other guys
[32:41] Speaker 3: that we talked about as the best, are you know,
[32:43] Speaker 3: age twenty nine age thirty, are about to exit, so
[32:46] Speaker 3: there is a very real scenario in which this is
[32:49] Speaker 3: the most dominant pass rusher in the NFL for the next,
[32:52] Speaker 3: you know, eight years.
[32:53] Speaker 1: Keep an eye on them at edge in the draft.
[32:56] Speaker 1: I think that's a sneaky need for them. If they
[32:58] Speaker 1: had a guy that they liked late in the first round,
[33:01] Speaker 1: wouldn't shock me because Danil Hunter. They add a one
[33:03] Speaker 1: year extension there. But they're thin behind those two guys relatively,
[33:07] Speaker 1: and I wouldn't be surprised if they are always looking
[33:10] Speaker 1: edge because case Hunter won't be there forever. It's time
[33:12] Speaker 1: for the off season ride along, presented by Toyota. Speaking
[33:15] Speaker 1: of the Cardinals, Jacoby Brissett not at the Cardinals facility
[33:19] Speaker 1: right now while they are lifting weights, you, I think
[33:23] Speaker 1: texted me, I hope this is okay to say that
[33:26] Speaker 1: you just wish you could walk through then, you know,
[33:28] Speaker 1: through your life with the type of confidence that Jacoby
[33:31] Speaker 1: Brissette has not throw up to the facility.
[33:34] Speaker 4: I just love this energy.
[33:36] Speaker 3: Man. I know he's gonna heap for it from their
[33:38] Speaker 3: local media. I don't care, like I love this energy
[33:42] Speaker 3: to say, listen the context of this too.
[33:45] Speaker 4: Is it last year?
[33:46] Speaker 3: Even as early as training camp, Jacoby Brissett called his
[33:49] Speaker 3: shot and was adamant that he was going to be
[33:52] Speaker 3: the starter for that football team. And then went on
[33:54] Speaker 3: to start and they lost a ton of games, and
[33:56] Speaker 3: he threw the ball a ton of times, a record
[33:58] Speaker 3: breaking amount of times, and they lost so many games.
[34:01] Speaker 3: And now he's like, all right, you don't have a
[34:03] Speaker 3: plan for your starting quarterback yet, I would like to
[34:06] Speaker 3: get paid like a starter if I'm going to be
[34:08] Speaker 3: starting games. So that the just the confidence and the
[34:12] Speaker 3: energy of this, I don't I don't care.
[34:16] Speaker 4: I just love it. I think it's awesome.
[34:18] Speaker 2: I love it too.
[34:19] Speaker 1: And there was reporting from Ian Rapaport that it sounds
[34:22] Speaker 1: like the Cardinals would be willing to play ball. Then again,
[34:25] Speaker 1: they had a press conference on Thursday before this news
[34:28] Speaker 1: was out that maybe told a different story.
[34:30] Speaker 6: Listen, we got Jacobe Gardner. They both played a lot
[34:33] Speaker 6: of ball. You know, I think you know, as we
[34:36] Speaker 6: sit here today, like we're not we're we don't. We're
[34:39] Speaker 6: trying to.
[34:40] Speaker 4: Install a system.
[34:41] Speaker 6: You guys are rolling. You know, I'll defer to you
[34:44] Speaker 6: on that, but like you know, we're not not really
[34:46] Speaker 6: naming anybody, and we'll see how that room looks. By
[34:49] Speaker 6: by the time we get in August.
[34:50] Speaker 1: They weren't naming Jacobe like a month and a half ago,
[34:52] Speaker 1: saying he was the starter, and now he's not because
[34:54] Speaker 1: he's Yeah.
[34:55] Speaker 4: They don't want to pay him. Of course they're doing
[34:57] Speaker 4: it like this.
[34:57] Speaker 1: So he he's due a little under five million dollars
[35:01] Speaker 1: this year.
[35:01] Speaker 5: Get him to ten.
[35:02] Speaker 4: I get him to ten.
[35:03] Speaker 2: His average for the two years.
[35:05] Speaker 1: I don't like when people just take away the signing
[35:07] Speaker 1: bonus money was six point twenty five, so that that
[35:09] Speaker 1: is mid tier backup money. It's not great. I heard
[35:13] Speaker 1: that and I thought, does he survive the draft? I
[35:15] Speaker 1: think there's there is a world where he's on the
[35:17] Speaker 1: Jets or some other team. I don't think it's that
[35:20] Speaker 1: crazy because if they end up with ty Simpson, you
[35:23] Speaker 1: don't need ty Simpson, Gardner Minshew and Jacoby Brissett.
[35:25] Speaker 2: They might just be like, see you.
[35:26] Speaker 3: Man, even if it doesn't turn out. Advice to the
[35:29] Speaker 3: young people listening, if you don't ask for what you want,
[35:32] Speaker 3: you're never gonna get it.
[35:33] Speaker 4: Even if you were.
[35:34] Speaker 3: If you have to find out, if you're never gonna
[35:36] Speaker 3: get it in the first place, fine find out. But
[35:37] Speaker 3: if you do not ask for what you want in
[35:40] Speaker 3: this life like Jacoby Brissette is doing, then you will
[35:43] Speaker 3: never get it.
[35:44] Speaker 5: You won't even have the chance of getting it.
[35:45] Speaker 1: So he is the best quarterback on that roster. He
[35:48] Speaker 1: is better than Gardner Minshew. That was the off season
[35:51] Speaker 1: ride along presented by Toyota. Because when people are the destination,
[35:55] Speaker 1: your ride is important. Learn more at Toyota dot com
[35:59] Speaker 1: and find the vehicle that fits your people. Let's fly
[36:02] Speaker 1: through a couple other quick ones. A challenge trade of
[36:05] Speaker 1: second round defensive tackles. That's a first just from two
[36:10] Speaker 1: years ago. The Jaguars swapped Mason Smith with the double
[36:14] Speaker 1: A in the middle, who really hasn't been doing much
[36:16] Speaker 1: at all.
[36:17] Speaker 2: Kind of a buzz.
[36:18] Speaker 5: It's like a big foul exchange.
[36:20] Speaker 1: Yes to the Falcons for Rooke Aroo a Roro. I
[36:25] Speaker 1: love saying that name. Really surprising because a roller row
[36:31] Speaker 1: has been promising as a pro thirty two pressures last
[36:35] Speaker 1: year from the interior, not known as like a great
[36:38] Speaker 1: run defender, but compared to Mason Smith, who had six
[36:44] Speaker 1: pressures I think according to the next Gen all of
[36:46] Speaker 1: last year and was a healthy scratch behind some pretty
[36:48] Speaker 1: poor people. It is a confounding trade for the Falcons
[36:52] Speaker 1: to trade some pass resjuice. But I guess it's just like, hey,
[36:55] Speaker 1: we have.
[36:55] Speaker 2: A new system.
[36:55] Speaker 1: This guy doesn't fit our new system, but I like
[36:58] Speaker 1: it for the Jaguars pass residuice.
[37:01] Speaker 3: This is a nice addition for Jacksonville, I would say,
[37:03] Speaker 3: because now they get to see what his upside could be.
[37:07] Speaker 3: This is probably a player that they had a strong
[37:09] Speaker 3: evaluation on coming out of the draft, or at least
[37:11] Speaker 3: the previous in their previous regime. And I just think
[37:14] Speaker 3: that this is I don't know, this is like a
[37:16] Speaker 3: high upside situation.
[37:18] Speaker 1: Eleven quick pressures, which is actually more than Ark Armstead.
[37:22] Speaker 1: They're high paid defensive tackle. It was more than their
[37:25] Speaker 1: entire like defensive tackle group.
[37:28] Speaker 5: Okay, I tell you what.
[37:29] Speaker 3: They're not looking at sacks up down there in Jacksonville.
[37:33] Speaker 3: They are looking at pressures. They're looking at proximity quarterback,
[37:37] Speaker 3: They're looking at hurries, They're looking at those types of things.
[37:39] Speaker 2: Mason Smith.
[37:40] Speaker 1: In theory, they would probably want to play nose tackle
[37:43] Speaker 1: in Atlanta and help with the run defense, but Jacksonville
[37:47] Speaker 1: didn't really have any room for him. So just kind
[37:49] Speaker 1: of an interesting challenge trade a reminder all second round picks, Yeah,
[37:53] Speaker 1: they don't work a lot of times. Some first round
[37:55] Speaker 1: picks that have been working. Pete Skronski got his fifth
[37:58] Speaker 1: year option picked up by the Times. Really improved, I
[38:02] Speaker 1: believe at guard last year. And Darnel Wright, who's had
[38:05] Speaker 1: a nice trajectory at tackle for the Bears, his fifth
[38:08] Speaker 1: year option picked up. Chris Ballard the Colts. GM mentioned
[38:11] Speaker 1: that Alec Pearce is overcoming a ankle surgery, which nobody
[38:17] Speaker 1: knew about going at least in the media, didn't know
[38:19] Speaker 1: about going into his free agency period. Interesting timing. They
[38:24] Speaker 1: clearly didn't want to have that surgery at the beginning
[38:26] Speaker 1: of the off season and so that that's a little
[38:28] Speaker 1: disappointing for them. But supposedly he's going to be back.
[38:30] Speaker 1: Pukinakua is at the off season program. It was reported
[38:34] Speaker 1: earlier he was at a rehabilitation center, so he is
[38:37] Speaker 1: now working out with the Rams, and Ian Rappaport said,
[38:40] Speaker 1: Jimmy G could be retiring, something that you've been hinting
[38:43] Speaker 1: at this show as a possibility, just saying like Jimmy
[38:47] Speaker 1: G might not play football this year. Let's wrap up
[38:49] Speaker 1: the news just quickly with just a item. Zachariah Branch,
[38:53] Speaker 1: the Georgia Wide receiver, was arrested over the weekend and
[38:56] Speaker 1: faces charges of obstructing public sidewalks, prowling, and obstructing a
[39:02] Speaker 1: law enforcement officer obstructing a public sidewalk. I was like,
[39:06] Speaker 1: is that something you can be arrested for? It can,
[39:09] Speaker 1: but you only need thirty nine dollars to pay your
[39:11] Speaker 1: bond to get out. I've never seen a bond that low.
[39:15] Speaker 1: And I'll just read a little bit of the police
[39:17] Speaker 1: report here. As revealed by Tom Pelsero NFL Network, a
[39:21] Speaker 1: male later identified as Zacharia Branch continued to stand in
[39:24] Speaker 1: the sidewalk without making an attempt to move. I continued
[39:28] Speaker 1: to give Zacharia Branch verbal commands to move from blocking
[39:31] Speaker 1: the sidewalk and advise that if he did not, he
[39:33] Speaker 1: would receive a citation for blocking the sidewalk. Zach Rya
[39:36] Speaker 1: Branch smirked, then step backwards into the right and remains
[39:40] Speaker 1: standing on the public sidewalk so to obstruct, hinder, or
[39:44] Speaker 1: impede free passage upon the sidewalk.
[39:49] Speaker 2: Due to these actions, he was arrested.
[39:54] Speaker 3: Wow, this seems like a really really good use of
[39:57] Speaker 3: my tax money.
[39:58] Speaker 1: This on one hand, like a lot of people got
[40:01] Speaker 1: off their jokes of like, oh, a smaller guy who
[40:04] Speaker 1: showed off his blocking skills.
[40:05] Speaker 4: On another hand, Francisco Yeah.
[40:07] Speaker 1: On another hand, uh, you know, our friend Adam pointed
[40:10] Speaker 1: out this. This is just standing well black, you know,
[40:13] Speaker 1: and is not expected, according to Mike Garrolfolo, to impact
[40:17] Speaker 1: his draft at all. Probably a Day two pick, maybe
[40:21] Speaker 1: a high Day three pick. Fun player to watch, but
[40:23] Speaker 1: more of a guy that I think teams will be
[40:26] Speaker 1: worried about. Is he just a gadget guy? Kind of
[40:28] Speaker 1: one of those guys. So that's Zachariah Branch just wanted
[40:31] Speaker 1: to hit that before the draft. Let's get into the
[40:33] Speaker 1: ten things we want to see in the draft. We
[40:34] Speaker 1: took a while to get here. No, yes, can't say
[40:38] Speaker 1: I will.
[40:38] Speaker 3: One of my small joys in doing the show is
[40:41] Speaker 3: when you get a really solid.
[40:43] Speaker 4: News day, Oh yeah, let's go it. Just you just
[40:46] Speaker 4: light up from within. Greg. It's just great.
[40:48] Speaker 1: The three day weekend helped. It's a great UCLA men's
[40:52] Speaker 1: volleyball game, Good sport Live with Walker, who's very into
[40:57] Speaker 1: volleyball these days. After mean light hike, all right, you
[41:01] Speaker 1: start out with one of the things you want to see, Jordan.
[41:06] Speaker 3: I want to see it, and I don't know that
[41:07] Speaker 3: it will necessarily be picks for players.
[41:09] Speaker 5: I doubt that all of these will be.
[41:10] Speaker 3: But I do think we're going to see a lot
[41:12] Speaker 3: of movement in the first and second round draft, and
[41:15] Speaker 3: so I would like to see at least four more trades. Okay,
[41:19] Speaker 3: I'm not asking for much, four more. At least four
[41:23] Speaker 3: more trades.
[41:24] Speaker 2: It would have been nice if they waited Lawrence to
[41:26] Speaker 2: the draft.
[41:27] Speaker 3: I know I could have counted that one involving first
[41:30] Speaker 3: round picks, so that also means movement back.
[41:33] Speaker 4: So I think there's like a couple of big no
[41:36] Speaker 4: man's land pockets.
[41:37] Speaker 3: There always is in these drafts, usually ride around those
[41:40] Speaker 3: pickpoints ten or twelve all the way into the end
[41:45] Speaker 3: of the first It could also be teams moving up
[41:47] Speaker 3: to get players out of the second round. So this
[41:50] Speaker 3: is really sort of a general I would like to
[41:52] Speaker 3: see more trades happen. I think this will be a
[41:55] Speaker 3: trade heavy draft. That's what all of the chatter is
[41:58] Speaker 3: right now, coming from the insiders, coming from league people
[42:01] Speaker 3: that I've spoken to. This is going to be a
[42:02] Speaker 3: trade heavy draft, and particularly could be on night one,
[42:07] Speaker 3: and so I would like to see at least four.
[42:09] Speaker 1: I think it could be little ones too, especially the tackles.
[42:12] Speaker 1: I think once you get in there's gonna be little swap,
[42:14] Speaker 1: there's going to be a run. I'm not asking in
[42:16] Speaker 1: the tens and twenties. I'd like to see some big ones.
[42:19] Speaker 1: Adam Schefter among other people. Hey, now, among other people.
[42:23] Speaker 1: Adam Schefter has alluded to the Cardinals wanting to trade down,
[42:28] Speaker 1: but that if they don't trade down, there's increasing belief
[42:31] Speaker 1: in league circles that they could take Jeremiah Love.
[42:36] Speaker 3: The combination they probably listened to our show and heard
[42:38] Speaker 3: me hyping Stundy styles to them, and so now I'm
[42:41] Speaker 3: just kidding.
[42:41] Speaker 1: The combination of that, It's like, yeah, we want Jeremiah Love,
[42:44] Speaker 1: but we want to trade down makes me think like,
[42:46] Speaker 1: do you really want Jeremiah Love or do you want
[42:48] Speaker 1: to take a tackle? And you're throwing that out there.
[42:50] Speaker 1: But there has been a lot.
[42:51] Speaker 4: Of connecting that they the Giants to come up.
[42:54] Speaker 1: There are the other teams that it was reported that
[42:57] Speaker 1: the Chiefs and Cardinals have talked a little bit about
[42:59] Speaker 1: who would the Chiefs be going up for. Maybe it's
[43:04] Speaker 1: it's Rvel Reze or David Bailey just for a pass
[43:06] Speaker 1: rush all the way to three that would make some sense.
[43:09] Speaker 1: There is a lot of talk Andy Reid once an
[43:11] Speaker 1: offensive linemen. Yeah, I think the Cowboys are a candidate
[43:14] Speaker 1: to go up, but not really what they do. They
[43:16] Speaker 1: do have the extra first round pick, and people thought
[43:19] Speaker 1: for what it's worth, Like Daniel Jeremia put this out there,
[43:22] Speaker 1: like the Bengals at ten were kind of in a
[43:24] Speaker 1: tough spot because you know, depending on if one or
[43:28] Speaker 1: no tackles go ahead of them.
[43:31] Speaker 2: I think there's like a it's an eight or nine player.
[43:34] Speaker 1: Draft where people are really excited about those eight or
[43:36] Speaker 1: nine especially for their needs, and they didn't need tackles.
[43:38] Speaker 4: So that's what I mean by no man's land.
[43:40] Speaker 3: So you're gonna hit those desert pockets where you just
[43:43] Speaker 3: feel like, Okay, the best thing I could possibly do
[43:45] Speaker 3: is trade back.
[43:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, I have trades in general as one go.
[43:48] Speaker 1: I'll start off with the Steelers, just getting specific because
[43:51] Speaker 1: there's a few Steelers items, but Steelers Depot and some
[43:56] Speaker 1: other places have been staying that there could be a
[44:00] Speaker 1: possible trade of one of their edges, and so Alex
[44:04] Speaker 1: Heismith Charles Robinson of Yeah Who Sports had this is
[44:06] Speaker 1: the more likely of the two. Nick Herbig would be
[44:09] Speaker 1: the other potential target. It sounds like teams would love
[44:14] Speaker 1: Nick Herbig, but Alex Heismith might be a little more available.
[44:17] Speaker 1: He's gonna be a third contract guy, getting closer to
[44:21] Speaker 1: thirty but still really productive, whereas Nick Herbrig is younger.
[44:25] Speaker 1: I want to see this because they just don't get
[44:27] Speaker 1: her Big on the field enough. It has annoyed me
[44:29] Speaker 1: that one of the best pure pass rushers in the league,
[44:31] Speaker 1: they just like sit him down. I think the Tjatt
[44:34] Speaker 1: contract was not a smart one the way that they
[44:37] Speaker 1: structured that and who they decided to pay there. So,
[44:40] Speaker 1: just because I want to see these edges go elsewhere,
[44:43] Speaker 1: and Alex Heismith is a fun piece, I just would
[44:47] Speaker 1: like to see that happen. If you're not going to
[44:48] Speaker 1: use Herbig, then trade him. I came up with some
[44:50] Speaker 1: teams for them. You want to hear him?
[44:52] Speaker 4: Yeah?
[44:53] Speaker 1: Okay, Philadelphia, Yes, that's pretty strong. We'll get to them
[44:56] Speaker 1: in a second. Carolina think would be a good.
[44:59] Speaker 4: Gest please is it? That's where he came out of, right,
[45:03] Speaker 4: Alex Heismith.
[45:04] Speaker 1: Where did Alex Hismith go to school. I forget the Patriots,
[45:07] Speaker 1: but you know their their pick might be taken by
[45:11] Speaker 1: someone else.
[45:11] Speaker 2: The Titans, I think actually could be in the mix.
[45:13] Speaker 2: The Bucks. There's a lot of teams. Charlotte, good job
[45:16] Speaker 2: by you.
[45:18] Speaker 3: Didn't you The Bucks would be great. I think the
[45:21] Speaker 3: Bucks would be great, you know, sneaky kind of The
[45:23] Speaker 3: Bills maybe would be a good one too. I know
[45:24] Speaker 3: they made the move for Bradley Jump, but they do
[45:26] Speaker 3: still need help there.
[45:28] Speaker 4: He would be a fun play.
[45:28] Speaker 1: A lot of teams need edges like Baltimore. Hey, if
[45:31] Speaker 1: you were going to trade for Max Crosby and you
[45:33] Speaker 1: said you were gonna pair him New Orleans Miami. Actually,
[45:36] Speaker 1: I don't think is a crazy one for Herbig specifically. Yeah,
[45:39] Speaker 1: if they were gonna yeah, if they were gonna invest
[45:42] Speaker 1: on someone long term.
[45:44] Speaker 2: So those are some edges I want to see that. Uh.
[45:47] Speaker 2: There's a lot of talk too.
[45:48] Speaker 1: They might take an offensive lineman the Steelers in the
[45:50] Speaker 1: first round because Broderick Jones, who's had a Star Cross
[45:53] Speaker 1: career as a first round pick, had a set back
[45:55] Speaker 1: with his neck injury, might not be ready for the season,
[45:57] Speaker 1: according to Adam Schefter, also our guy say, Aaron Rodgers.
[46:01] Speaker 1: Remember when the owner said, well, we're not going to
[46:03] Speaker 1: wait around to the draft this time. We expect it
[46:05] Speaker 1: to be in within a month. We're at the draft,
[46:08] Speaker 1: and the reporting now is that they're not going to
[46:10] Speaker 1: hear anything before the draft with Aaron Rodgers.
[46:13] Speaker 4: All looking for the guy who did this.
[46:15] Speaker 3: They also have five picks in the top one hundred
[46:17] Speaker 3: for now. If they trade one of these guys, they
[46:20] Speaker 3: will have more.
[46:20] Speaker 1: They could even get they could even get more. I
[46:23] Speaker 1: want to see it, all right, give me another one.
[46:25] Speaker 3: Another one for me is I am anticipating and very
[46:28] Speaker 3: excited to see, specifically through this draft what power dynamics
[46:33] Speaker 3: start to truly cement themselves in these organizations. We've heard
[46:37] Speaker 3: whispers of and chatter like we mentioned earlier about John
[46:41] Speaker 3: Harbaugh being the one who is going to be making
[46:43] Speaker 3: these picks.
[46:44] Speaker 5: It's obviously a.
[46:45] Speaker 3: Collaborative process, but with Harbaugh having a dominant say in
[46:48] Speaker 3: kind of how he wants to build this team's identity
[46:51] Speaker 3: moving forward in New York, and I'm eager to see
[46:55] Speaker 3: like Kevin O'Connell and in Minnesota, for example, with Brazinski
[47:00] Speaker 3: as the intern GM right now and those two have
[47:04] Speaker 3: a great relationship. But this has a dynamic or a
[47:08] Speaker 3: feel to me of a coach wanting to have just
[47:10] Speaker 3: a little bit more say in the draft operation. The
[47:13] Speaker 3: pictures they've already shared out on their team media department
[47:17] Speaker 3: is of those two specifically sitting next.
[47:20] Speaker 4: To each other in purpose.
[47:21] Speaker 5: Well, they're having a great time.
[47:22] Speaker 3: I do think that, you know, seeing how much power
[47:26] Speaker 3: a new coach in some of these new organizations declarations
[47:29] Speaker 3: of intent as you like to call them, yes, what
[47:31] Speaker 3: those actually look like. And a place, even a place
[47:34] Speaker 3: like you know in Baltimore with an established for an office,
[47:38] Speaker 3: how much, say, will jesse Minter actually have in bringing
[47:42] Speaker 3: in quote unquote his guys or identifying especially understanding that
[47:46] Speaker 3: coaches do not come into the draft process until extremely
[47:50] Speaker 3: late in the scouting process, so you're not necessarily you
[47:55] Speaker 3: would probably opt to lean on an established general man
[48:00] Speaker 3: and infrastructure in that case, but the coach still has
[48:02] Speaker 3: to get his guys that match the scheme. It's not
[48:05] Speaker 3: unheard of that the coach has one idea going into
[48:08] Speaker 3: it and then as OTAs begin, a different plan sort
[48:11] Speaker 3: of starts to take shape, or a better plan or
[48:13] Speaker 3: a better strategy for that season starts to take shape
[48:15] Speaker 3: and then they just have to kind of wait until
[48:17] Speaker 3: the next.
[48:17] Speaker 1: Full and with them, it's going to be hard to
[48:18] Speaker 1: tell the difference because frankly, they were drafting Jesse Minner
[48:21] Speaker 1: players before.
[48:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he was there.
[48:22] Speaker 1: The systems weren't too different relatively the types of players. Obviously,
[48:26] Speaker 1: he'll have a say, I think that's going to be
[48:28] Speaker 1: a nice cooperation. Yeah, I did say. I do like
[48:31] Speaker 1: statements of intent with the first so we talked about
[48:33] Speaker 1: the Giants. That was going to be one of mine.
[48:34] Speaker 1: But I'll skip past that because it's very similar Miami,
[48:37] Speaker 1: Las Vegas.
[48:39] Speaker 2: I'd like to say Atlanta Power Dynamic. Yeah, I'd like
[48:42] Speaker 2: to say Atlanta.
[48:43] Speaker 1: Because but they don't have any picks early Tennessee, like
[48:47] Speaker 1: is Borganzi now it's his show for the first time.
[48:50] Speaker 1: So these are some statements of intent, but especially Miami
[48:52] Speaker 1: and the Giants with early picks. I'll do a quick
[48:54] Speaker 1: one then, which is just like I like the post
[48:58] Speaker 1: draft depth charts, you know what I mean to me,
[49:00] Speaker 1: it's just very satisfying that we reach this point of
[49:04] Speaker 1: the off season and it's like, Okay, let's just look
[49:07] Speaker 1: at those babies on our lads.
[49:08] Speaker 2: They're working all weekend.
[49:10] Speaker 1: They're pumping those players into the depth charts. We're doing
[49:13] Speaker 1: a show on Sunday with Ali and I'll just look
[49:15] Speaker 1: at it and it's like, this is what we're working for.
[49:17] Speaker 1: Enough speculation, and I know there's other moves to be
[49:21] Speaker 1: made in the off season, but for the most part,
[49:24] Speaker 1: these are our teams, and I just find that a
[49:26] Speaker 1: very satisfying exercise, the post draft depth charts over the years,
[49:30] Speaker 1: it's just something I'm looking forward to.
[49:32] Speaker 3: Yeah, something I'm looking forward to is more prospect celebration
[49:36] Speaker 3: videos with families.
[49:38] Speaker 5: Especially.
[49:39] Speaker 3: I love to see the moms celebrating with their sons.
[49:43] Speaker 3: It absolutely warms my heart every single year. Good mom
[49:47] Speaker 3: and son content of just the biggest moment possible in
[49:52] Speaker 3: this prospect's life and his family being around him. I
[49:56] Speaker 3: know we put together a supercut of this. You can
[49:58] Speaker 3: see some players if you're watching on YouTube. Some players
[50:01] Speaker 3: really excited with their families, and it's always the most heartwarming,
[50:05] Speaker 3: you know, when the dad breaks down and tears and
[50:08] Speaker 3: just the culmination of a lot of dreams and hopes
[50:11] Speaker 3: and wishes and a lifelong memory. It's just like one
[50:14] Speaker 3: of the most endearing things that can come out of
[50:16] Speaker 3: the draft, and that just injected all into my veins.
[50:19] Speaker 4: I just want all the joy.
[50:21] Speaker 2: I love that.
[50:22] Speaker 1: I'd love seeing them at their houses. I love seeing
[50:25] Speaker 1: the dynamics. Andrew Hawkins had a you know, sometimes a
[50:29] Speaker 1: great one between the girlfriend and the bombs are very interesting,
[50:32] Speaker 1: just sitting where Ceedee Lamb had a famous one where
[50:35] Speaker 1: he had the two phones and the girlfriend takes the
[50:38] Speaker 1: phone away. There was the Titans draft pick. I'm forgetting
[50:42] Speaker 1: who it was that tackle that didn't work out. That
[50:44] Speaker 1: was a classic of the of the genre in general. Though,
[50:48] Speaker 1: like I love those dynamics. We'll see, We'll see what
[50:50] Speaker 1: Fernanda Mendoza is doing. He'll be at home, not going.
[50:54] Speaker 2: To the draft.
[50:54] Speaker 1: All right, Let's let's get to the Eagles in the
[50:57] Speaker 1: in the Chiefs, I decided one of the things I
[51:00] Speaker 1: want to see on draft weekend the plans of the
[51:02] Speaker 1: Super Bowl fifty nine teams. And this is where we
[51:05] Speaker 1: can get into the aj Brown of it all. Man
[51:08] Speaker 1: Like these two teams, which on balance have been the
[51:11] Speaker 1: best two organizations this decade the twenty twenties, would be
[51:16] Speaker 1: the Chiefs in the Eagles but kind of coming off
[51:21] Speaker 1: difficult positions now the Chiefs are in the top ten.
[51:24] Speaker 1: Who could they be moving up for. They have three
[51:27] Speaker 1: of the top forty picks because of the McDuffie trades,
[51:29] Speaker 1: are nine twenty nine forty. I think offensive line could
[51:32] Speaker 1: be something there. Cornerbacks certainly curious, like how they get aggressive?
[51:36] Speaker 1: Would they go Jeremiah Love, would they go Jordan Tyson?
[51:39] Speaker 1: We'll see. They're fascinating the Eagles. I don't think they're
[51:43] Speaker 1: depth charts in as bad shape as the Chiefs, but
[51:45] Speaker 1: I would say they have more questions right now than
[51:47] Speaker 1: they normally do. Two offensive linemen threatened to retire this offseason.
[51:51] Speaker 1: Lane Johnson is right towards the end. Landon Dickerson. We'll see.
[51:55] Speaker 1: They have three of the top sixty eight picks because
[51:57] Speaker 1: they have a high third from the Hassan Reddick trade
[52:01] Speaker 1: from a couple of years ago. They have five of
[52:03] Speaker 1: the top one point fifteen. There's a compensatory pick in
[52:06] Speaker 1: there too, so they have a lot of picks. There's
[52:09] Speaker 1: rumors they might want to go to Jonathan Go get
[52:12] Speaker 1: Jonathan Grenard from the Vikings.
[52:14] Speaker 2: That's still out there.
[52:16] Speaker 1: Could they be trading for a wide receiver to replenish
[52:19] Speaker 1: AJ Brown? Could they be trading to move up for
[52:21] Speaker 1: a wide receiver or just drafting a wide receiver to
[52:24] Speaker 1: replenish for AJ Brown. Their offensive line, and I would
[52:27] Speaker 1: say their defensive line is thinner. It's very good overall,
[52:31] Speaker 1: but they're not They don't have stars at the edge,
[52:33] Speaker 1: and it's thinner than before. Like, there's just a lot here,
[52:36] Speaker 1: and that leaves us to AJ Brown. Wait, what do
[52:39] Speaker 1: you make of where we're at in the AJ Brown
[52:43] Speaker 1: news cycle?
[52:44] Speaker 2: Yeah?
[52:44] Speaker 3: Well so okay, So there's been some reporting. First over
[52:48] Speaker 3: the last couple of days, Nate Tice on Football three
[52:50] Speaker 3: oh one, our friend of the show as well, made
[52:53] Speaker 3: some allusions to just hearing some chatter that there was
[52:57] Speaker 3: I'm paraphrasing here obviously, that there's sort of an understanding
[53:00] Speaker 3: that this trade is already gonna happen. Adam Schefter and
[53:04] Speaker 3: Jeremy Fowler put out their annual What I'm Hearing before
[53:08] Speaker 3: the Draft or inside what Insiders are saying before the
[53:11] Speaker 3: Draft report? You know, to be clear, I haven't read
[53:14] Speaker 3: it in full, but I do know there's some big
[53:16] Speaker 3: AJ Brown implications.
[53:17] Speaker 1: I read it, and the wording is very funny because
[53:21] Speaker 1: they're not positioning it as news like on their news stack,
[53:27] Speaker 1: and yet a lot of aggregators are taking the actual
[53:31] Speaker 1: words that Adam Schefter said, including he tweeted it out,
[53:34] Speaker 1: I mean, and he literally writes aj Brown is likely
[53:39] Speaker 1: to become a Patriot, and for that to come from
[53:41] Speaker 1: Adam Schefter to me is news it's still on track
[53:46] Speaker 1: to happen after June first, per league source.
[53:50] Speaker 3: Still on track is interesting phrasing to me, because that
[53:52] Speaker 3: would mean that it would have been previously established as
[53:55] Speaker 3: being on track.
[53:56] Speaker 1: He puts all these caveats in here, almost apparently trying
[54:01] Speaker 1: to avoid the league being upset that this has worked out,
[54:04] Speaker 1: because that's not like how post June first stuff is
[54:07] Speaker 1: exactly how it's supposed to work, or the team's being
[54:10] Speaker 1: upset because they're just trying to stay quiet about And
[54:13] Speaker 1: then the actual wording as he goes on is not
[54:16] Speaker 1: as strong. It's like, remain highly interested. It's possible another
[54:19] Speaker 1: team could get in the mix, but to be clear,
[54:22] Speaker 1: the Patriots are very interested and restarting those negotiations after
[54:27] Speaker 1: June first. It sure sounds like a deal is going
[54:31] Speaker 1: to happen, and that there's more of an understanding than
[54:35] Speaker 1: is being reported. I've never seen a story quite like this,
[54:38] Speaker 1: where everyone is expecting something very specific to happen that's
[54:43] Speaker 1: massive news, and yet no one's exactly reporting it, so
[54:47] Speaker 1: I'm just assuming it's going to happen.
[54:49] Speaker 3: I will say, you do see this with coaching hires
[54:54] Speaker 3: and the hiring cycles too, where people are positioned as
[54:58] Speaker 3: the favorite O they have to go through a couple
[55:01] Speaker 3: of other steps in the process.
[55:02] Speaker 2: It's almost like a Rooney Rule thing, but an AJ
[55:04] Speaker 2: Brown trade.
[55:05] Speaker 3: Which is like, it's a similar vibe that I get
[55:07] Speaker 3: from all of this, frankly of like the Okay, yeah,
[55:11] Speaker 3: we already know what we're gonna do, but just you know,
[55:15] Speaker 3: just wait because there's some steps.
[55:16] Speaker 2: As a podcaster, how should we handle it?
[55:18] Speaker 1: I feel like we should almost just talk about AJ
[55:20] Speaker 1: Brown's on the Patriots and what that means now, But
[55:22] Speaker 1: I guess we can't.
[55:23] Speaker 3: I just think perhaps your own excitement about this might
[55:28] Speaker 3: be taking.
[55:29] Speaker 2: No a little bit.
[55:30] Speaker 1: You don't think I'd be excited to talk about A J.
[55:32] Speaker 1: Brown going to any team. I'm actually just a little
[55:35] Speaker 1: wary of.
[55:36] Speaker 4: You be a little as a Patriots fan.
[55:38] Speaker 3: I just think you're just excited to just, you know,
[55:41] Speaker 3: get this conversation going.
[55:43] Speaker 1: No I'm just a news guy. I'm a little wary
[55:45] Speaker 1: of it. I think they'll probably.
[55:46] Speaker 4: The news guy, I mean, the humble newsman.
[55:50] Speaker 1: It's an annoying thing to have to talk around for
[55:52] Speaker 1: a month and a half. But I the most telling
[55:55] Speaker 1: of all these where Jeff Darlington got on ESPN. He
[55:58] Speaker 1: said the Eagles are operating in this draft as if
[56:01] Speaker 1: A J.
[56:01] Speaker 2: Brown's not on the.
[56:02] Speaker 1: Team, because they have to because there's a possibility that
[56:04] Speaker 1: he's not on the team. But then I was like,
[56:05] Speaker 1: if Jeff Darlington specifically is reporting this and he does
[56:08] Speaker 1: a great job, but he's not trying to break news,
[56:10] Speaker 1: it's like it's happening that I just feel, well, it's happening.
[56:16] Speaker 3: They've been operating before the draft. I mean, they went
[56:19] Speaker 3: got receivers like they you know, they're they're building the aggregate,
[56:23] Speaker 3: right like that's you know, that's they've been operating like this.
[56:26] Speaker 2: I think the A J.
[56:27] Speaker 1: Brown is very similar to Dexter Lawrence in the way
[56:30] Speaker 1: that I don't think it's a great overall team building approach.
[56:33] Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna have to give a pick
[56:34] Speaker 1: that's that high. Maybe it's a pick next year. But
[56:37] Speaker 1: I also think they'll get like a probably a really
[56:40] Speaker 1: great honeymoon year that they're happy with, and then long
[56:43] Speaker 1: term like it. It might not be something you look
[56:45] Speaker 1: back on as like the best move, but but you
[56:47] Speaker 1: get a short term bump and a long term hit.
[56:50] Speaker 2: I don't know, A J. Brown wasn't like amazing last year,
[56:52] Speaker 2: but he is still a J. Brown. All right, Let's
[56:54] Speaker 2: let's fly through the rest of them.
[56:55] Speaker 3: Yes, well, for number eight, I would like to see
[56:59] Speaker 3: for Nan Mendoza hit us with a swear word. You know,
[57:02] Speaker 3: he's going to be joining the Las Vegas Raiders. I'd
[57:05] Speaker 3: really just lets effing go. You know, I'm efing fired up.
[57:09] Speaker 3: You know, he doesn't have to be that one.
[57:11] Speaker 4: It could be a.
[57:12] Speaker 3: Number of colorful choices he could potentially pick. I would
[57:16] Speaker 3: just like to see him. I would just like to
[57:19] Speaker 3: see a little him come out of a shell a
[57:21] Speaker 3: little bit a lot Kirk Cousins who also happens to
[57:23] Speaker 3: be on that roster.
[57:24] Speaker 1: Speaking of Nate Tyson, I really like that he interviewed Mendoza,
[57:28] Speaker 1: Nate tasted, and Nate shared that after the interview, Mendoza
[57:35] Speaker 1: asked Nate for what he thinks he should get better at.
[57:38] Speaker 1: What Nate thinks Mendoza needs to work on and then
[57:42] Speaker 1: he was like oh, and he was like it was clear.
[57:45] Speaker 1: Then Nate realized like he had done his homework. Nate, Nate,
[57:48] Speaker 1: you know a quarterback kind of guy that makes me happy,
[57:51] Speaker 1: but also that like you know, he's studying for these
[57:53] Speaker 1: different interviews of like who is this guy interviewing me?
[57:56] Speaker 1: And that he wants to hear he wants to get
[57:58] Speaker 1: better in any way possible, So he's asking I like that.
[58:01] Speaker 5: I like that knowing can pick.
[58:03] Speaker 3: I can picture what Nate's reaction to that would be,
[58:05] Speaker 3: which would be like totally disarmed, caught off guard, never
[58:09] Speaker 3: expecting it, even though anybody should be asking Nate for
[58:13] Speaker 3: feedback on how to He's one of the best in
[58:16] Speaker 3: the game. It's just I can picture him being like,
[58:19] Speaker 3: who me? You know, it's just a very endearing about him.
[58:23] Speaker 1: Bet he had a good answer to things to work on.
[58:27] Speaker 1: Maybe maybe a little bit under understand.
[58:30] Speaker 4: This is my note.
[58:31] Speaker 3: As you know obviously you know my my note is
[58:34] Speaker 3: typic is just as advanced.
[58:35] Speaker 1: Analyis's swear words between him and Kirk Cousins. There, you know,
[58:41] Speaker 1: two two peas in a pod. Here's one thing I
[58:45] Speaker 1: want to see on draft weak and everyone to be wrong.
[58:48] Speaker 2: Just in general. I like it.
[58:50] Speaker 1: Everyone takes the mock so seriously. We have so much
[58:53] Speaker 1: information this, that and the other, and then for the
[58:56] Speaker 1: most part, they don't hit it and any of it,
[59:00] Speaker 1: and there's like no particular accountability. It's just like when
[59:05] Speaker 1: it goes really well, the rare years that someone was
[59:07] Speaker 1: really on top of a lot of things, then you're
[59:09] Speaker 1: just like, hey, I nailed it. But there is something
[59:12] Speaker 1: to me because I'm keeping track of like just seeing
[59:14] Speaker 1: everyone who is so confident about like they were doing this,
[59:17] Speaker 1: they were doing this, and then none of it happens.
[59:20] Speaker 1: Maybe this makes me a small person figuratively in addition
[59:24] Speaker 1: to literally, or a contrarian or a hater, they might say,
[59:29] Speaker 1: but I enjoy that.
[59:30] Speaker 2: When it comes to draft weekend.
[59:32] Speaker 4: Do you have any specific receipdus I do.
[59:33] Speaker 1: I would say, like mcshae Todd mcshagh, I'm specifically rooting
[59:37] Speaker 1: against him in general. I would say this year because
[59:41] Speaker 1: he came after our guy, Aldi Connolly. First of all,
[59:44] Speaker 1: I noticed that last week Micshay on like Thursday says
[59:50] Speaker 1: that he'd be shocked if David Bailey doesn't go to
[59:53] Speaker 1: the Jets, and then by Saturday he's saying, I think
[59:56] Speaker 1: Arvel Reese is going to the Jets like that this
[59:58] Speaker 1: is the type of like information gathering that changes so
[1:00:01] Speaker 1: much and doesn't have like a ton of value. But
[1:00:04] Speaker 1: he went after Ali, calling Ali like a ridiculous word
[1:00:09] Speaker 1: for just reporting the news on Reuben Bain, for literally
[1:00:14] Speaker 1: reporting police reports that are out there, for publicly saying
[1:00:18] Speaker 1: police reports as if it was some sort of hit piece.
[1:00:22] Speaker 1: And I think Ali explained it really well in our show.
[1:00:23] Speaker 1: I don't need to defend Ali of like, of course
[1:00:25] Speaker 1: why it's newsworthy, even if a lot of teams knew
[1:00:29] Speaker 1: about it, like the general public didn't know about it,
[1:00:32] Speaker 1: and a lot of people didn't know certain things, and
[1:00:33] Speaker 1: teams do have questions if he's been transparent throughout the process,
[1:00:37] Speaker 1: and if there's anything else behind jordanam too.
[1:00:38] Speaker 2: That's all sort of behind the point.
[1:00:40] Speaker 1: I think it really reflects on your own character if
[1:00:43] Speaker 1: you're not like looking into the person that's doing this
[1:00:47] Speaker 1: and you're getting upset about someone just reporting the news
[1:00:52] Speaker 1: because you think what it may hurt their draft stock, Like.
[1:00:58] Speaker 2: Who are we defending here? All the teams knows you
[1:01:00] Speaker 2: can't be on both sides.
[1:01:01] Speaker 1: If all the teams know and it's not affecting their
[1:01:05] Speaker 1: draft stock, what exactly would you be mad at in
[1:01:07] Speaker 1: the first place, you're saying it's a nothing burger, right.
[1:01:10] Speaker 1: The whole reaction to Ali's reporting bothered me a lot,
[1:01:13] Speaker 1: and I honestly wasn't aware about it until on Friday
[1:01:17] Speaker 1: or Thursday night when we're like done taping this. I
[1:01:20] Speaker 1: was I was told about these comments. Give me a break.
[1:01:22] Speaker 3: Also, just my general advice to like any adults, especially
[1:01:27] Speaker 3: like a grown man, just like, you know, go reach
[1:01:30] Speaker 3: out to the person you're fitting on top, you know,
[1:01:32] Speaker 3: like pick up the phone.
[1:01:33] Speaker 1: Well, it's clear like he didn't really look into the situation,
[1:01:36] Speaker 1: and like that shows the type of lack of character
[1:01:38] Speaker 1: that you're accusing the other person of going after someone's character.
[1:01:43] Speaker 2: That's it.
[1:01:44] Speaker 1: That's ten things. You got nine amazing, We might have
[1:01:49] Speaker 1: to do a lot.
[1:01:51] Speaker 5: Nine kind of came out of you.
[1:01:53] Speaker 3: Maybe you know you okay, alternate ego there, okay, mine.
[1:01:58] Speaker 3: I can't wait to see the middle round surfers kind
[1:02:01] Speaker 3: of take over on day two and day three. These
[1:02:03] Speaker 3: are teams that have frequently picked pretty well in the
[1:02:06] Speaker 3: middle rounds regardless of the number of picks. They also
[1:02:09] Speaker 3: often turn a lot of a few middle round picks
[1:02:12] Speaker 3: into more middle round picks. These are the forty nine Ers,
[1:02:16] Speaker 3: the Rams, the Ravens, the Jaguars, the Dolphins, even the Jets.
[1:02:20] Speaker 4: I'm excited to.
[1:02:21] Speaker 3: See what Darren Moogie does with some of this, like
[1:02:25] Speaker 3: middle round surfing and a lot of picks at their disposal.
[1:02:27] Speaker 4: And moving up and moving back.
[1:02:29] Speaker 3: And I love the point where, like the trackers, the
[1:02:32] Speaker 3: draft trackers get so ahead of the broadcast and all
[1:02:36] Speaker 3: you hear is the little trade ding going off, and
[1:02:39] Speaker 3: you just know that some chaos is happening, and all
[1:02:42] Speaker 3: of a sudden it pops up onto your screen that
[1:02:43] Speaker 3: this team that was supposed to be picking a few
[1:02:46] Speaker 3: picks later is actually picking now, and maybe they're leapfrogging
[1:02:49] Speaker 3: to get a guy that they like, or maybe they're
[1:02:51] Speaker 3: moving back. I just love all of the permutations of
[1:02:53] Speaker 3: the middle round surfing that happens.
[1:02:55] Speaker 1: I think that Falcons are going to be really active
[1:02:57] Speaker 1: because they're going to be trying to pick up extra picks.
[1:02:59] Speaker 1: The just because they have so many picks and are
[1:03:01] Speaker 1: probably willing to kick some into next year. Are going
[1:03:03] Speaker 1: to be super active. The Eagles we talked about are
[1:03:05] Speaker 1: going to be super axritty niners.
[1:03:07] Speaker 4: Their picks all stop in the fourth.
[1:03:08] Speaker 1: Round, so they're gonna have to try to pick up
[1:03:10] Speaker 1: some more. I do love that stuff too. That is ten,
[1:03:13] Speaker 1: and yet I didn't get to go eleven. Do eleven.
[1:03:16] Speaker 1: We have a whole graphic that says ten things we
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: want to see. You know we're gonna have to change that. Well,
[1:03:21] Speaker 1: this is just a free one. D'Angelo Pons after Daniel
[1:03:25] Speaker 1: Jeremiah talked about him on a show that you're going
[1:03:27] Speaker 1: to hear on Tuesday, our final forties of free agents
[1:03:31] Speaker 1: before the draft, he puts D'Angelo Pons, the cornerback from Indiana,
[1:03:36] Speaker 1: into his top fifty. He compared him in a way
[1:03:39] Speaker 1: to Jalen Hurts, a guy that throughout the whole process
[1:03:42] Speaker 1: he didn't have in his top fifty, and then at
[1:03:45] Speaker 1: the very end he's just like, this player is so good,
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: there's something so much about him. I gotta at least
[1:03:50] Speaker 1: put him in my top fifty. And so I remember
[1:03:52] Speaker 1: that with DJ where at the last second he put
[1:03:54] Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts, even though it didn't make a lot of
[1:03:56] Speaker 1: sense into his top fifty and this guy is fascinating. Yes,
[1:04:01] Speaker 1: am I going to root for an undersized player a
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: little extra than other people?
[1:04:05] Speaker 2: Of course?
[1:04:06] Speaker 1: Five eight, one seventy four at cornerback, and I think
[1:04:10] Speaker 1: what heat is going to test is just like how
[1:04:13] Speaker 1: much can the size really matter? Because a lot of
[1:04:16] Speaker 1: teams really believe they have hard rules at cornerback specifically.
[1:04:21] Speaker 1: And it took DJ talking about him and then Ali
[1:04:24] Speaker 1: and John Ledierre talking about him a lot too on
[1:04:26] Speaker 1: the read optional that made me want to watch him.
[1:04:27] Speaker 1: And I watched the tape against Denzel Boston specifically, like
[1:04:31] Speaker 1: Denzel Boston's one of the best vertical, you know, contested
[1:04:34] Speaker 1: catch guys in the league, and there's the Angelo Ponds
[1:04:36] Speaker 1: out there doing a job against him. His tape is crazy.
[1:04:39] Speaker 1: If you're into the draft and you haven't watched him yet,
[1:04:42] Speaker 1: it took me until this weekend to watch him. I mean,
[1:04:44] Speaker 1: he's no question, one of the top three cornerbacks in
[1:04:47] Speaker 1: the draft, and his tape is as electric, I would say,
[1:04:50] Speaker 1: as the top two. But he's five eight and one
[1:04:53] Speaker 1: seventy four. But he went up against Jeremiah Smith, against
[1:04:56] Speaker 1: all these great players, and so I'm just curious. I'm
[1:04:58] Speaker 1: now tracking his career, and I'm curious what the NFL
[1:05:01] Speaker 1: thinks of him too, because, like I think his film
[1:05:03] Speaker 1: would tell you he's a first round pick. Like if
[1:05:05] Speaker 1: you just ignore the height, I get that he's probably
[1:05:08] Speaker 1: not going to go in the first round because of that,
[1:05:09] Speaker 1: but like, is he gonna.
[1:05:10] Speaker 2: Get totally killed because of it?
[1:05:13] Speaker 1: To me, he's just a fun player I'm going to
[1:05:15] Speaker 1: be rooting for. So yeah.
[1:05:16] Speaker 3: I love that about the draft is when these guys
[1:05:19] Speaker 3: that you just really there's something just that little extra
[1:05:23] Speaker 3: edge to them, or there's something about their profile or
[1:05:25] Speaker 3: their character or the way that they play or just
[1:05:28] Speaker 3: that pops to you and you're sort of just attached
[1:05:30] Speaker 3: to them. You're now on their team.
[1:05:32] Speaker 1: In this case, it's just that he's small, and other
[1:05:34] Speaker 1: than that, he's electric and he's not old.
[1:05:36] Speaker 2: He's super athletic.
[1:05:39] Speaker 1: You know, some of these guys didn't work out over
[1:05:41] Speaker 1: the years, certainly not old Mike Sandrusilla got drafted pretty high.
[1:05:45] Speaker 1: You know, he's not coming off a good year. But
[1:05:47] Speaker 1: I think Ponds is even better. I'm just saying he's
[1:05:49] Speaker 1: not like a guy that would be dinged for being
[1:05:51] Speaker 1: like twenty four or twenty five, Like he's a young player.
[1:05:54] Speaker 2: Very athletic.
[1:05:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, great, vertical leap too making up for it. I
[1:05:58] Speaker 1: think he had like six among all players or something
[1:06:01] Speaker 1: like that. That's it, we did it as we go.
[1:06:04] Speaker 1: I'm just gonna like put this weird Detroit Lions tweet up.
[1:06:07] Speaker 1: I'm surprising you with this one that they sent out
[1:06:10] Speaker 1: on Monday morning. For some reason, the Detroit Lions are
[1:06:14] Speaker 1: tweeting like a wide receiver. Live your life with no
[1:06:17] Speaker 1: regret because tomorrow is not promised.
[1:06:20] Speaker 2: The Detroit Lions sent.
[1:06:21] Speaker 4: Out I think Dexter Lawrence put that on a post it.
[1:06:24] Speaker 1: What do you think that was an admin signed into
[1:06:28] Speaker 1: the wrong account. But now they just got to live
[1:06:31] Speaker 1: with it. As the Lions. No, they're going to make
[1:06:33] Speaker 1: some big trades. They're just trying to get people.
[1:06:35] Speaker 4: One point five million views.
[1:06:36] Speaker 3: This has all the makings of a copycat attempt on
[1:06:39] Speaker 3: the PF Chain's tweet.
[1:06:41] Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know, just like blind tweeting.
[1:06:45] Speaker 4: Yeah, first of all, Detroit Lions admin, are you okay?
[1:06:49] Speaker 5: I like call me if you're not. It's we'll get
[1:06:52] Speaker 5: through this.
[1:06:53] Speaker 1: I do see grown men, sometimes older than me or
[1:06:56] Speaker 1: around my age, tweeting like this often too, just like
[1:06:59] Speaker 1: little little shots out into the ether that you don't
[1:07:02] Speaker 1: even know what nobody knows what they're about.
[1:07:04] Speaker 4: Yeah, I've seen a couple of recently.
[1:07:06] Speaker 2: Let's grow up.
[1:07:07] Speaker 1: Let's talk about our next show, Forties and free Agents,
[1:07:11] Speaker 1: final one before the Draft. This is where I put
[1:07:13] Speaker 1: Daniel Jeremiah on the clock and give them the hardest
[1:07:15] Speaker 1: hitting questions, rapid fire, and we go through a number
[1:07:19] Speaker 1: of late situations.
[1:07:20] Speaker 2: Our last show.
[1:07:21] Speaker 1: Before the Draft is gonna be my mock Draft with
[1:07:23] Speaker 1: Patrick Clayband.
[1:07:24] Speaker 2: That'll be coming up on Wednesday. Until then, Jordan, you'll
[1:07:27] Speaker 1: See her next Thursday night live on YouTube.
