[0:00] SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to Everything Apple Home.
[0:02] SPEAKER_00: There was no episode last week because I was over in Berlin covering Ether, but we're back and I've plenty to talk about.
[0:08] SPEAKER_00: Apple's September event has now taken place, and unfortunately, there was no new hardware.
[0:13] SPEAKER_00: Apple has also confirmed the iCloud Plus requirements for its new Apple Intelligence camera features, and I've got a quick roundup of some of the best Apple owned devices I saw at Ether.
[0:22] SPEAKER_00: Let's get straight into it.
[0:23] SPEAKER_00: Apple's September event has been and gone, and despite all the rumors leading up to it, we didn't get any new Apple hardware.
[0:30] SPEAKER_00: There was no new Apple TV, or the more importantly, the homepad.
[0:34] SPEAKER_00: But I don't think that means we're done for 2026.
[0:37] SPEAKER_00: We've seen plenty of evidence within Apple's own software pointing towards new hardware.
[0:42] SPEAKER_00: Even the night before, code was found in Apple's backend systems, pointing towards four new devices, one clearly labelled as Apple TV.
[0:50] SPEAKER_00: So while September wasn't the moment, there'll be plenty of time left.
[0:53] SPEAKER_00: Apple has already launched products later in the year before, and we could still see announcements October or beyond.
[0:59] SPEAKER_00: For now though, the wait is still on for the next generation of Apple Ohm hardware.
[1:03] SPEAKER_00: Next up, Apple has now confirmed the iCloud Plus plans you'll need to use for the Apple Intelligence camera features.
[1:09] SPEAKER_00: With the 2TB plan, you can use Apple Intelligence features with just one camera.
[1:14] SPEAKER_00: Move up to 6 and increase to 2, and Apple's 12 iCloud plan includes a limit of 5 cameras.
[1:22] SPEAKER_00: Now there's an important distinction here.
[1:24] SPEAKER_00: These limits are specifically for Apple Intelligence camera features.
[1:27] SPEAKER_00: The existing HomeKit secure video camera limits remain unchanged.
[1:31] SPEAKER_00: So for example, if you already have multiple home kit secure cameras, that doesn't simply mean you can only record one of them to the 2TB plan.
[1:40] SPEAKER_00: Instead, it determines how many cameras can take advantage of the new Apple Intelligence functionality.
[1:46] SPEAKER_00: And finally, I've got back from EFER26 in Berlin and there was a huge amount of new Apple Home hardware.
[1:53] SPEAKER_00: One of my highlights was the Shelly wall display, which is getting a major matter upgrade.
[1:58] SPEAKER_00: It can act as both a matter controller and a matter device at the same time, which means you can control accessories on the screen and bring other Mata devices in via that screen.
[2:10] SPEAKER_00: There's also Acarra's FP400 Presence Sensor, the latest addition to Acarra's presence sensor lineup, and is coming in September.
[2:18] SPEAKER_00: And finally, Ecovac's new X12S Omicycle is also available across the UK, Europe and the US.
[2:26] SPEAKER_00: These are only a few products I saw at Ether, and I've got a full Ether roundup video where I talk about all the best Apple Home Matter products I found at the show.
[2:35] SPEAKER_00: And you can check that out over at YouTube.
[2:37] SPEAKER_00: So that's everything for Apple Home for this week.
[2:39] SPEAKER_00: For deeper coverage on all these stories, visit AppleHomauthority.com and make sure you're following for more Apple Home news, reviews, and tutorials.
[2:48] SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much.
[2:48] SPEAKER_00: I'll speak to you next week.
