Darlene Sparks: Hey girl, welcome to Love Darlene. I am so glad that you're here. This is where we have the real conversations about stepmom life and blended families. You know, the beautiful, the complicated, ugh, the so uncomfortable, and everything else in between. We're gonna laugh, we're gonna cry, but we're gonna learn. We're gonna look at things from different perspectives, and sometimes We might have to lovingly call ourselves out too. So if you've ever thought, somebody please tell me that I am not the only one, you're exactly where you need to be, because girl, we've got some things to talk about. Welcome to the very first episode of Love Darlene. I'm excited, I'm a little nervous, and honestly, it kind of feels surreal to finally be sitting behind this microphone. If you already know me from social media, hey, you already know I have plenty to say. But if this is your first time meeting me, my name is Darlene. I am a wife. I'm a mom, a stepmom, and a certified stepfamily coach. And before you hear certified stepfamily coach and think I came into blended family life knowing exactly what I was doing, absolutely not. There was no handbook, there was no orientation. Nobody pulled me to the side and said, here's everything you need to know about navigating different households. Different relationships, different expectations, different parenting styles, schedules, boundaries, emotions, and somehow keeping your relationship and yourself together in the middle of it. No, you get in there and start figuring it out. And eventually you have that moment where you think, wait, is this normal? And honestly, that question is part of the reason we're sitting here today. I've been having conversations about stepmom and blended family life on social media for a while now. And I really do love it. I love making the videos. I love hearing your perspectives. I love reading all the comments and getting your messages. And yes, I even enjoy when y'all disagree with me. Well, maybe ⁓ I guess
