[0:00] Speaker 1: Have you ever felt like no matter how much you try,
[0:03] Speaker 1: you still fall short? Like no matter how much you pray, read,
[0:07] Speaker 1: or strive to live right, something inside of you keeps whispering,
[0:12] Speaker 1: You're not doing enough. You're not good enough. You'll never
[0:16] Speaker 1: be free. Maybe you've wondered, Does God still love me
[0:23] Speaker 1: after everything I've done? If I still struggle with sin,
[0:27] Speaker 1: does that mean I'm not really saved? If grace is free,
[0:32] Speaker 1: why do I feel like I have to earn it?
[0:35] Speaker 1: If you've ever wrestled with guilt, struggled with sin, or
[0:38] Speaker 1: felt like you had to prove yourself to God, you're
[0:41] Speaker 1: not alone. And that's exactly why Paul wrote the book
[0:45] Speaker 1: of Romans. This is Deep Bible Stories, where we break
[0:48] Speaker 1: down Scripture like never before. If this video speaks to you,
[0:53] Speaker 1: hit that like button and share it with someone who
[0:56] Speaker 1: needs this message today. Now Romans is not just another
[1:01] Speaker 1: book of the Bible, it is the foundation of our faith.
[1:05] Speaker 1: It is the book that shatters guilt, exposes sin, crushes self-righteousness,
[1:11] Speaker 1: and reveals the full power of God's grace. Because the
[1:15] Speaker 1: truth is, many believers today still live under guilt, condemnation,
[1:21] Speaker 1: and fear, when Jesus has already set them free. And
[1:26] Speaker 1: here's what Romans makes clear You don't have to prove
[1:29] Speaker 1: yourself to God. You are justified by faith, not by works.
[1:33] Speaker 1: You don't have to be perfect. God's grace is bigger
[1:36] Speaker 1: than your failures. You don't have to live in fear.
[1:39] Speaker 1: Nothing can separate you from the love of God. And
[1:43] Speaker 1: yet so many Christians are still living like slaves instead
[1:46] Speaker 1: of sons. So in this video, we are breaking down
[1:49] Speaker 1: 10 of the most powerful messages from the book of Romans,
[1:53] Speaker 1: truths that will change how you see yourself, your faith,
[1:57] Speaker 1: and your future. And before we start, let me ask you,
[2:01] Speaker 1: which of these messages do you need the most? Have
[2:04] Speaker 1: you struggled with understanding grace? Have you ever doubted your salvation?
[2:10] Speaker 1: Or is there a specific chapter of Romans you want
[2:12] Speaker 1: us to cover in another video? Drop a comment below. Also,
[2:21] Speaker 1: if you want to go even deeper, we've created an
[2:23] Speaker 1: in-depth explainer video on the entire book of Romans, and
[2:28] Speaker 1: we've put together an e-book so you can study at
[2:31] Speaker 1: your own pace. The link is in the description. We
[2:35] Speaker 1: hope and pray this video strengthens your faith and draws
[2:38] Speaker 1: you closer to God. Now let's jump into lesson number one.
[2:43] Speaker 1: You are declared righteous by faith, not by works, because
[2:48] Speaker 1: if you can grasp this truth, it will set you
[2:51] Speaker 1: free forever. The first and most life-changing lesson we learn
[2:55] Speaker 1: from Romans is this. You are declared righteous by faith,
[2:59] Speaker 1: not by works. This truth alone has the power to
[3:03] Speaker 1: set you free from guilt, striving, and insecurity forever. For
[3:08] Speaker 1: so many believers, faith is something they know about, something
[3:12] Speaker 1: they hear in church, something they believe in principle. But
[3:17] Speaker 1: deep down, They still live like they have to earn
[3:20] Speaker 1: their place with God. They may say they believe in grace,
[3:25] Speaker 1: but in their hearts, they still feel like they need
[3:28] Speaker 1: to prove themselves. They live in constant self-evaluation. They question
[3:34] Speaker 1: if they've prayed enough. They wonder if they've served enough.
[3:37] Speaker 1: They struggle with guilt every time they mess up, and
[3:40] Speaker 1: without realizing it, they have turned their faith into a performance.
[3:44] Speaker 1: Paul shatters this mindset in Romans 1.17 when he writes,
[3:49] Speaker 1: For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed,
[3:54] Speaker 1: a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,
[3:57] Speaker 1: just as it is written, The righteous will live by faith.
[4:03] Speaker 1: This one verse destroys the idea that righteousness is something
[4:06] Speaker 1: you achieve. It is not something you work for, not
[4:10] Speaker 1: something you slowly earn over time, and definitely not something
[4:13] Speaker 1: that depends on how good you've been lately. It is
[4:17] Speaker 1: something you receive by faith alone. This was a radical
[4:21] Speaker 1: message in Paul's time. The Jewish people were raised to
[4:25] Speaker 1: believe that righteousness came through the law, by obeying commandments,
[4:30] Speaker 1: offering sacrifices— and keeping traditions. And in many ways, believers
[4:36] Speaker 1: today are no different. They may not follow Old Testament laws,
[4:41] Speaker 1: but they have built their own spiritual checklists. If I
[4:45] Speaker 1: read my Bible every day, then God will be pleased
[4:48] Speaker 1: with me. If I stop struggling with this sin, then
[4:52] Speaker 1: I'll finally be worthy of God's love. If I pray harder,
[4:56] Speaker 1: serve more, or do better, then maybe I'll feel righteous.
[5:00] Speaker 1: But Paul shuts all of that down. He says, the
[5:03] Speaker 1: righteous will live by faith, not by effort, not by perfection,
[5:07] Speaker 1: not by anything you do. And this isn't the first
[5:11] Speaker 1: time this truth appears in Scripture. In fact, Paul is
[5:14] Speaker 1: quoting Habakkuk 2.4, where God told the prophet Habakkuk that
[5:19] Speaker 1: righteousness has always been about faith. This means that from
[5:23] Speaker 1: the very beginning, God never wanted performance-based religion. He wanted
[5:28] Speaker 1: faith-based relationship. Look at Abraham. He wasn't declared righteous because
[5:34] Speaker 1: he was perfect or because he followed a set of rules.
[5:37] Speaker 1: He was declared righteous because he believed God. Abraham believed God,
[5:43] Speaker 1: and it was credited to him as righteousness. Genesis 15.6
[5:49] Speaker 1: And yet so many of us still struggle to believe
[5:51] Speaker 1: that righteousness could really be that simple. Maybe because we've
[5:55] Speaker 1: been raised to believe that everything must be earned— From childhood,
[6:01] Speaker 1: we're taught, work hard and you'll be rewarded. Be good
[6:05] Speaker 1: and people will love you. Do enough and you'll be accepted.
[6:08] Speaker 1: So when we come to God, we bring the same mentality.
[6:12] Speaker 1: We assume he works like the world does. But the
[6:15] Speaker 1: kingdom of God doesn't work like the world. In the world,
[6:18] Speaker 1: you work for acceptance. In God's kingdom, you work from acceptance.
[6:23] Speaker 1: In the world you strive for approval. In God's kingdom
[6:26] Speaker 1: you live from approval. This is why Paul spends so
[6:29] Speaker 1: much of Romans dismantling the idea that righteousness is something
[6:33] Speaker 1: you can earn. In Romans 3.20 he writes, Therefore no
[6:38] Speaker 1: one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the
[6:41] Speaker 1: works of the law. Rather, through the law we become
[6:45] Speaker 1: conscious of our sin. And then in Romans 3.22 he
[6:49] Speaker 1: gives us the answer, This righteousness is given through faith
[6:55] Speaker 1: in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Do you see it?
[7:00] Speaker 1: Righteousness is not achieved, it is given. And once you
[7:04] Speaker 1: understand that, it destroys guilt, striving, and insecurity forever. Because
[7:10] Speaker 1: if righteousness is a gift, that means you don't have
[7:13] Speaker 1: to keep trying to prove yourself. You don't have to
[7:16] Speaker 1: live in fear that you'll never be good enough. You
[7:20] Speaker 1: don't have to carry guilt from your past mistakes. You
[7:23] Speaker 1: are already righteous in Christ. But here's where many believers
[7:27] Speaker 1: get stuck. They hear this truth, but they still feel unworthy.
[7:32] Speaker 1: They still wake up feeling like they need to do more,
[7:35] Speaker 1: be better, try harder. And that's because they are letting
[7:39] Speaker 1: their feelings define their righteousness instead of God's Word. This
[7:45] Speaker 1: is where faith comes in. Because righteousness is not about
[7:49] Speaker 1: how you feel. It's about what God declared over you.
[7:53] Speaker 1: Faith is what allows you to walk in a truth
[7:56] Speaker 1: that doesn't always feel real yet. Think about the story
[8:00] Speaker 1: of the prodigal son, Luke 15, 11-32. When the son
[8:04] Speaker 1: returned home after wasting everything, his father didn't make him
[8:09] Speaker 1: prove himself. He didn't make him work to earn back
[8:12] Speaker 1: his place in the family. He ran to him. He
[8:16] Speaker 1: embraced him. He put a robe on him and a
[8:18] Speaker 1: ring on his finger. The son didn't earn it. He
[8:21] Speaker 1: didn't deserve it. But the father gave it anyway. That
[8:25] Speaker 1: is what righteousness by faith looks like. And once you
[8:28] Speaker 1: understand this, it changes everything. It means you can wake
[8:33] Speaker 1: up every morning confident in God's love instead of anxious
[8:37] Speaker 1: about whether you've done enough. It means you can stop
[8:41] Speaker 1: measuring yourself by your performance and start living in God's grace.
[8:46] Speaker 1: It means you can finally stop trying to be good
[8:48] Speaker 1: enough for God because Jesus already made you righteous. So
[8:53] Speaker 1: let me ask you, have you been living like righteousness
[8:56] Speaker 1: is something you need to earn? Have you been stuck
[9:00] Speaker 1: in a cycle of guilt trying to prove yourself to God?
[9:04] Speaker 1: Because today you can finally let that go. You don't
[9:08] Speaker 1: have to strive anymore. You don't have to fight for
[9:11] Speaker 1: something that's already yours. You are righteous by faith, and
[9:15] Speaker 1: the moment you believe that, you will never live the
[9:18] Speaker 1: same again. The second most life-changing lesson we learn from
[9:22] Speaker 1: Romans is this. All have sinned, and all need a Savior.
[9:27] Speaker 1: This is not a comfortable truth. In fact, it is
[9:30] Speaker 1: one that many people try to avoid. We like to
[9:33] Speaker 1: believe that deep down, we are good people. that as
[9:37] Speaker 1: long as we try our best, as long as we
[9:39] Speaker 1: are better than those people, we will be fine. But
[9:43] Speaker 1: Paul doesn't leave room for that kind of thinking. In
[9:46] Speaker 1: Romans 3.23, he writes, For all have sinned and fall
[9:51] Speaker 1: short of the glory of God. Not some have sinned,
[9:55] Speaker 1: not only the really bad people, not just criminals, liars,
[9:58] Speaker 1: or thieves, all. That means you, that means me. That
[10:03] Speaker 1: means every person who has ever walked this earth, and
[10:06] Speaker 1: at first that sounds like terrible news, because if all
[10:10] Speaker 1: have sinned, that means no one is righteous. That means
[10:14] Speaker 1: no amount of effort, no amount of religious activity, No
[10:19] Speaker 1: amount of being a good person is enough to meet
[10:23] Speaker 1: God's perfect standard. But here's the paradox. This is actually
[10:26] Speaker 1: good news. Because if everyone has fallen short, that means
[10:31] Speaker 1: no one has to pretend anymore. It means we can
[10:34] Speaker 1: stop comparing ourselves to others and start seeing our desperate
[10:38] Speaker 1: need for Jesus. But here's where many people get stuck.
[10:42] Speaker 1: Some struggle with guilt. They know they are sinners, and
[10:46] Speaker 1: they feel like they will never be good enough for God.
[10:49] Speaker 1: They live in constant shame, constantly repenting, constantly wondering if
[10:55] Speaker 1: God is still angry at them. Others struggle with self-righteousness.
[11:00] Speaker 1: They know they aren't perfect, but they don't see themselves
[11:02] Speaker 1: as that bad. They compare themselves to others and think, well,
[11:07] Speaker 1: at least I'm not like them. But both mindsets are deadly.
[11:11] Speaker 1: The first keeps you in condemnation, making you feel like
[11:15] Speaker 1: you can never approach God. The second keeps you in pride,
[11:19] Speaker 1: making you feel like you don't really need God. And
[11:23] Speaker 1: this is why Paul spends so much time in Romans
[11:26] Speaker 1: tearing down every excuse. Before he writes Romans 3.23, he
[11:32] Speaker 1: actually spends two full chapters proving that every kind of
[11:36] Speaker 1: person is guilty before God. In Romans 1, he exposes
[11:40] Speaker 1: those who have rejected God, given into sin, and lived
[11:44] Speaker 1: in open rebellion. He talks about idolatry, sexual immorality, and
[11:50] Speaker 1: people who have completely turned their backs on righteousness. They're guilty.
[11:54] Speaker 1: But then, in Romans 2, he turns to the religious people,
[11:58] Speaker 1: the ones who think they are better because they follow
[12:02] Speaker 1: the law, because they go to church, because they try
[12:05] Speaker 1: to live morally. And Paul says, you are guilty too.
[12:11] Speaker 1: Because righteousness is not about being better than someone else,
[12:15] Speaker 1: it's about being right before God. And no one, not
[12:19] Speaker 1: the rebellious sinner, not the religious person, not even the
[12:22] Speaker 1: best of us, is good enough on their own. This
[12:26] Speaker 1: is why self-righteousness is just as dangerous as rebellion. Look
[12:31] Speaker 1: at the parable of the prodigal son, Luke 15.11-32. Most
[12:37] Speaker 1: people focus on the younger son, The one who ran away,
[12:40] Speaker 1: wasted everything and hit rock bottom. But what about the
[12:44] Speaker 1: older brother? The younger son was guilty of reckless sin.
[12:48] Speaker 1: The older son was guilty of self-righteousness. The younger son
[12:52] Speaker 1: thought he had ruined his chance with the father. The
[12:55] Speaker 1: older son thought he had earned his place with the father.
[12:59] Speaker 1: But here's the twist. Both of them were wrong. The
[13:02] Speaker 1: father embraced the rebellious son. not because he deserved it,
[13:07] Speaker 1: but because of grace. The father corrected the older son,
[13:10] Speaker 1: not because he had done everything wrong, but because he
[13:13] Speaker 1: had forgotten that his place in the family was never
[13:16] Speaker 1: about his performance. And this is exactly what Paul is
[13:20] Speaker 1: trying to show us in Romans. No one is good
[13:23] Speaker 1: enough on their own, and that is good news because
[13:27] Speaker 1: it means we all need Jesus. It means that the
[13:31] Speaker 1: same grace that saves the worst sinner also saves the
[13:34] Speaker 1: best person you know. It means that no matter what
[13:38] Speaker 1: you've done, God's mercy is greater. It means that you
[13:42] Speaker 1: don't have to live in shame anymore, because Jesus already
[13:46] Speaker 1: paid the price. But it also means you don't get
[13:49] Speaker 1: to live in pride, thinking that somehow you are better
[13:53] Speaker 1: than others. Because when Paul says all have sinned, that
[13:57] Speaker 1: puts every single one of us on equal ground. This
[14:00] Speaker 1: is what Jesus tried to teach the Pharisees, the ones
[14:03] Speaker 1: who knew the Scriptures, followed the rules, and thought they
[14:07] Speaker 1: were righteous because of their works. In Luke 18, 9-14,
[14:12] Speaker 1: Jesus tells the story of a Pharisee and a tax
[14:15] Speaker 1: collector praying in the temple. The Pharisee stood confidently, thanking
[14:20] Speaker 1: God that he was not like other people, robbers, evildoers, adulterers,
[14:25] Speaker 1: or even this tax collector. Meanwhile, the tax collector couldn't
[14:29] Speaker 1: even lift his head. He simply prayed, God, have mercy
[14:34] Speaker 1: on me, a sinner. And Jesus said only one of
[14:37] Speaker 1: them walked away justified, not the Pharisee, not the one
[14:41] Speaker 1: who thought he was righteous, but the one who knew
[14:44] Speaker 1: he needed grace. So let me ask you, do you
[14:47] Speaker 1: truly believe that all have sinned, including you? Not just
[14:52] Speaker 1: in a general sense, not just as a theological idea,
[14:56] Speaker 1: but in a way that makes you desperate for Jesus
[14:58] Speaker 1: every single day? Or have you fallen into the trap
[15:02] Speaker 1: of comparison, thinking that as long as you are better
[15:05] Speaker 1: than someone else, you must be okay? Because when you
[15:09] Speaker 1: truly understand Romans 3.23, it sets you free. It frees
[15:16] Speaker 1: you from shame because you realize that your sins don't
[15:19] Speaker 1: make you unworthy. Jesus already paid for them. It frees
[15:25] Speaker 1: you from pride because you realize that no amount of
[15:28] Speaker 1: good deeds could ever make you righteous. Only Jesus can.
[15:31] Speaker 1: It frees you from performance because your standing with God
[15:36] Speaker 1: isn't based on what you do, but on what He
[15:39] Speaker 1: has already done. And once you grasp this truth, you
[15:43] Speaker 1: will never look at sin, grace, or salvation the same
[15:47] Speaker 1: way again. The third most powerful lesson we learn from
[15:51] Speaker 1: Romans is this. God justifies the ungodly through grace alone.
[15:57] Speaker 1: After realizing that all have sinned and fall short, the
[15:59] Speaker 1: next logical question is, then how can anyone be saved?
[16:04] Speaker 1: If no one is good enough, if even the most
[16:06] Speaker 1: righteous people fail, if sin has corrupted every human heart,
[16:10] Speaker 1: then how could we possibly stand before a holy God?
[16:13] Speaker 1: Paul gives us the answer in Romans 5, 8-10. But
[16:17] Speaker 1: God demonstrates His own love for us in this. While
[16:21] Speaker 1: we were still sinners, Christ died for us. This verse
[16:27] Speaker 1: is one of the most shocking, radical, and world-shattering truths
[16:30] Speaker 1: in the entire Bible, because it tells us something that
[16:34] Speaker 1: goes against everything we've been taught about love, fairness, and worthiness.
[16:40] Speaker 1: In the world, people love you when you prove yourself.
[16:43] Speaker 1: They accept you when you've earned it. They forgive you
[16:46] Speaker 1: when you make it up to them. But God, he
[16:48] Speaker 1: loved you while you were still a sinner. He saved
[16:51] Speaker 1: you before you ever did a single thing to deserve it.
[16:55] Speaker 1: He sent Jesus to die while you were still running
[16:58] Speaker 1: away from him. that is justification by grace alone. And
[17:03] Speaker 1: yet so many believers struggle to accept this. Some believe
[17:06] Speaker 1: they need to clean themselves up first. They think, once
[17:10] Speaker 1: I stop sinning, once I get my life together, once
[17:14] Speaker 1: I prove to God that I'm serious, then He will
[17:17] Speaker 1: accept me. Others believe they need to keep earning their salvation.
[17:23] Speaker 1: They live in fear that if they fail too many times,
[17:26] Speaker 1: God will take it all back. But Paul makes it clear,
[17:30] Speaker 1: God does not justify those who deserve it. He justifies
[17:34] Speaker 1: the ungodly. In Romans 4, 5, he writes, However, to
[17:40] Speaker 1: the one who does not work but trusts God, who
[17:43] Speaker 1: justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. Let
[17:50] Speaker 1: that sink in. God justifies the ungodly, not the religious,
[17:55] Speaker 1: not the morally good, not the ones who try their best,
[17:58] Speaker 1: but the ungodly. This means, if you have ever thought,
[18:02] Speaker 1: I'm too messed up for God to love me, then
[18:04] Speaker 1: you are exactly the kind of person he justifies. Look
[18:09] Speaker 1: at the people Jesus saved. A woman caught in adultery
[18:12] Speaker 1: about to be stoned. John 8, 1-11. A tax collector
[18:17] Speaker 1: hated by his own people. Luke 19, 1-10. a thief
[18:22] Speaker 1: hanging on a cross with nothing to offer but a
[18:24] Speaker 1: desperate plea for mercy, Luke 23, 39-43. Not one of
[18:30] Speaker 1: them fixed themselves first. Jesus didn't say to the woman,
[18:34] Speaker 1: Clean up your life first, then I'll forgive you. He
[18:38] Speaker 1: didn't tell Zacchaeus, Prove yourself before I come to your house.
[18:42] Speaker 1: He didn't tell the thief on the cross, It's too
[18:44] Speaker 1: late for you now. He forgave them on the spot,
[18:48] Speaker 1: because salvation is never about you getting to God. It
[18:52] Speaker 1: is always about God coming to you. And here's the
[18:55] Speaker 1: most mind-blowing part. He justifies you by giving you His righteousness,
[19:01] Speaker 1: not fixing your righteousness, not improving your righteousness, giving you His.
[19:06] Speaker 1: Paul explains this in 2 Corinthians 5.21-2. God made him
[19:12] Speaker 1: who had no sin to be sin for us, so
[19:15] Speaker 1: that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
[19:20] Speaker 1: Imagine this, standing before God, guilty, filthy, broken, and instead
[19:25] Speaker 1: of condemning you, he takes off your filthy rags and
[19:28] Speaker 1: places Jesus' perfect robe of righteousness over you, That means
[19:33] Speaker 1: when God looks at you, he doesn't see your sin anymore.
[19:37] Speaker 1: He doesn't see your failures. He doesn't see your past.
[19:40] Speaker 1: He sees Jesus. And once you understand this, the enemy's
[19:44] Speaker 1: accusations lose all their power because the enemy is called
[19:48] Speaker 1: the accuser of the brethren, Revelation 12.10. He will remind
[19:53] Speaker 1: you of your past. He will try to make you
[19:56] Speaker 1: feel unworthy. He will whisper, you think God really forgave that.
[20:01] Speaker 1: You think you deserve to be called righteous. And if
[20:04] Speaker 1: you believe salvation is about your performance, then you will
[20:08] Speaker 1: live in constant fear and insecurity. But if you know
[20:12] Speaker 1: that your righteousness is not your own, then the enemy's
[20:16] Speaker 1: accusations become meaningless. Because when the enemy says, look at
[20:21] Speaker 1: your sin, you can say, look at my Savior. When
[20:25] Speaker 1: he says, you'll never be good enough, you can say,
[20:28] Speaker 1: Jesus is my righteousness. When he says, you have failed
[20:32] Speaker 1: too many times, You can say, while I was still
[20:35] Speaker 1: a sinner, Christ died for me. That is the power
[20:39] Speaker 1: of justification, and yet so many believers still live like
[20:43] Speaker 1: they are on trial. They wake up every day feeling
[20:46] Speaker 1: like they have to prove themselves to God. They walk
[20:49] Speaker 1: around with guilt for sins that Jesus already paid for.
[20:54] Speaker 1: They wonder if they are good enough, when that was
[20:56] Speaker 1: never the question, because the gospel is not about making
[21:00] Speaker 1: bad people good. It is about bringing dead people to life.
[21:05] Speaker 1: And when Jesus saves you, it is final. Paul makes
[21:08] Speaker 1: this clear in Romans 8.33-34. Who will bring any charge
[21:13] Speaker 1: against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
[21:19] Speaker 1: Who then is the one who condemns? No one. If
[21:24] Speaker 1: God himself has justified you, who can accuse you? If
[21:28] Speaker 1: Jesus paid the price, who can say it's not enough?
[21:32] Speaker 1: If you truly believe this, then you don't have to
[21:35] Speaker 1: walk around wondering if you're saved anymore. You don't have
[21:38] Speaker 1: to keep trying to earn what has already been given.
[21:42] Speaker 1: You don't have to keep carrying what Jesus already took
[21:44] Speaker 1: to the cross. You are justified. You are righteous. You
[21:49] Speaker 1: are free. Not because of anything you have done, but
[21:52] Speaker 1: because of everything He has done. And once you accept that,
[21:57] Speaker 1: you will never live in fear again. The fourth most
[22:01] Speaker 1: life-changing lesson we learn from Romans is this. You are
[22:04] Speaker 1: no longer a slave to sin. We just learned that
[22:08] Speaker 1: God justifies the ungodly through grace alone, that we are
[22:12] Speaker 1: made righteous not by our works, but by faith. But
[22:17] Speaker 1: here's the question many believers still wrestle with. If I'm saved,
[22:22] Speaker 1: why do I still struggle with sin? For some, this
[22:25] Speaker 1: question turns into doubt. They wonder if they were ever
[22:29] Speaker 1: truly saved. For others, it leads to frustration. They try harder,
[22:34] Speaker 1: fight harder, strive harder, and still fall. And eventually many
[22:39] Speaker 1: just give up. They start believing that freedom is not
[22:41] Speaker 1: actually possible, that the Christian life is just an endless
[22:45] Speaker 1: cycle of sin, guilt, and asking for forgiveness. But Paul
[22:50] Speaker 1: shatters that mindset in Romans 6.6- For we know that
[22:55] Speaker 1: our old self was crucified with him, so that the
[22:58] Speaker 1: body ruled by sin might be done away with, that
[23:02] Speaker 1: we should no longer be slaves to sin. Let that
[23:06] Speaker 1: sink in. Paul is not saying one day, if you
[23:09] Speaker 1: try hard enough, you will finally be free. He is
[23:12] Speaker 1: saying it already happened. The moment you put your faith
[23:15] Speaker 1: in Christ, your old self was crucified with him. That
[23:19] Speaker 1: means the version of you that was controlled by sin, dead.
[23:24] Speaker 1: The version of you that was trapped in cycles of addiction, dead.
[23:29] Speaker 1: The version of you that could never say no to temptation, dead.
[23:34] Speaker 1: So why does it still feel so real? Because freedom
[23:38] Speaker 1: is not about feeling, it's about believing. This is the
[23:41] Speaker 1: reason so many believers stay stuck. They are waiting to
[23:45] Speaker 1: feel free before they believe they are free. They are
[23:49] Speaker 1: waiting for temptation to disappear before they claim victory. But
[23:54] Speaker 1: faith is walking in a truth that doesn't always feel
[23:57] Speaker 1: real yet. Think about the Israelites. God had already freed
[24:02] Speaker 1: them from slavery in Egypt. He had already delivered them
[24:05] Speaker 1: from Pharaoh's power. They had already walked through the Red
[24:09] Speaker 1: Sea on dry ground. But when things got hard, what
[24:13] Speaker 1: did they say? We should go back to Egypt and
[24:16] Speaker 1: Exodus 14.12. They had been physically set free, but in
[24:21] Speaker 1: their minds they were still slaves. And that is exactly
[24:25] Speaker 1: what happens to so many believers today. Jesus already broke
[24:29] Speaker 1: the power of sin, but they still live like sin
[24:32] Speaker 1: owns them. This is why Paul says in Romans 6.11-
[24:36] Speaker 1: Count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in
[24:40] Speaker 1: Christ Jesus. Do you see it? You don't need to
[24:43] Speaker 1: fight for freedom. You need to believe you're already free.
[24:47] Speaker 1: But here's where most people get stuck. They try to
[24:50] Speaker 1: fight sin in their own strength. They think, if I
[24:53] Speaker 1: just try harder, if I just have more willpower, if
[24:56] Speaker 1: I just set better boundaries, then I'll finally stop sinning.
[25:01] Speaker 1: But you will never break free from sin by relying
[25:04] Speaker 1: on yourself, because sin is not just a habit, it's
[25:07] Speaker 1: a power. It's not just something you struggle with, it's
[25:10] Speaker 1: something that held you captive. And no slave ever sets
[25:14] Speaker 1: themselves free. This is why Jesus didn't come to make
[25:18] Speaker 1: you stronger against sin. He came to crucify the old you,
[25:22] Speaker 1: so that sin would no longer have power over you.
[25:26] Speaker 1: Look at what Paul says in Galatians 2.20- I have
[25:30] Speaker 1: been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but
[25:34] Speaker 1: Christ lives in me. This means freedom is not about
[25:39] Speaker 1: you resisting sin better. It's about you realizing that the
[25:43] Speaker 1: old you is already dead. Imagine a prisoner who has
[25:48] Speaker 1: been locked in a cell for years. One day the
[25:52] Speaker 1: judge comes in and says, You are free. He opens
[25:56] Speaker 1: the cell door and walks away. But instead of walking out,
[26:00] Speaker 1: the prisoner stays inside, not because he has to, not
[26:04] Speaker 1: because the door is locked, but because he has lived
[26:07] Speaker 1: in that cage for so long he doesn't know how
[26:11] Speaker 1: to live free. That is what so many Christians do
[26:15] Speaker 1: with sin. They have been set free. The power of
[26:18] Speaker 1: sin has been broken. The door is already open. But
[26:21] Speaker 1: instead of walking out, they stay inside. It's not because
[26:25] Speaker 1: they have to, not because God didn't do enough, but
[26:28] Speaker 1: because they don't believe they are really free. So how
[26:31] Speaker 1: do you start living in victory? First, stop trying to
[26:35] Speaker 1: fight sin in your own strength. Instead of saying, I
[26:38] Speaker 1: just need to try harder, start saying, I am dead
[26:42] Speaker 1: to sin. Instead of thinking, I will never change, start declaring,
[26:48] Speaker 1: Christ lives in me. Because victory over sin doesn't come
[26:53] Speaker 1: from fighting harder. It comes from believing what Jesus already did. Second,
[26:59] Speaker 1: walk in the Spirit. Paul gives the key to victory
[27:02] Speaker 1: in Galatians 5.16- So I say, walk by the Spirit,
[27:07] Speaker 1: and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
[27:11] Speaker 1: Did you catch that? Paul doesn't say, try really hard
[27:14] Speaker 1: not to sin, and then you will walk in the Spirit.
[27:17] Speaker 1: He says, walk in the Spirit first, and sin will
[27:21] Speaker 1: lose its power. Because the more you focus on Jesus,
[27:25] Speaker 1: the less power sin has. The more you focus on
[27:28] Speaker 1: who you are in Christ, the less tempting the world becomes.
[27:32] Speaker 1: The more you focus on what God says, the less
[27:35] Speaker 1: the enemy's lies affect you. This is why people who
[27:39] Speaker 1: are full of the Holy Spirit don't have to live
[27:41] Speaker 1: in constant sin struggles, not because they are stronger, but
[27:46] Speaker 1: because they are filled. So let me ask you, are
[27:49] Speaker 1: you still living like a slave? Are you waking up
[27:52] Speaker 1: every day fighting a battle that Jesus already won? Are
[27:56] Speaker 1: you trying to defeat sin in your own power instead
[28:00] Speaker 1: of standing in the victory of Christ? Because here's the truth.
[28:04] Speaker 1: Sin has no right to control you anymore. The chains
[28:08] Speaker 1: are broken. The door is open. The prison sentence has
[28:11] Speaker 1: been erased. Now all that's left is for you to
[28:13] Speaker 1: believe it and walk in it. Because you are no
[28:17] Speaker 1: longer a slave. You are free. And once you understand that,
[28:21] Speaker 1: you will never live the same again. The fifth most
[28:24] Speaker 1: powerful lesson we learn from Romans is this. There is
[28:27] Speaker 1: no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We
[28:32] Speaker 1: just learned that we are no longer slaves to sin,
[28:35] Speaker 1: that the old us, the one that was bound, addicted,
[28:40] Speaker 1: and powerless, died with Christ. But even after knowing this truth,
[28:46] Speaker 1: many believers still find themselves haunted by something just as
[28:50] Speaker 1: dangerous as sin itself. Condemnation. It's that crushing weight that
[28:56] Speaker 1: tells you you'll never be good enough. It's the voice
[28:58] Speaker 1: that whispers, God may have saved you, but he's still
[29:02] Speaker 1: disappointed in you. It's the feeling that no matter how
[29:06] Speaker 1: much you repent, how much you pray, how much you try,
[29:09] Speaker 1: you are still a failure in God's eyes, and condemnation
[29:14] Speaker 1: is one of the enemy's greatest weapons, because even though
[29:17] Speaker 1: he knows he can't steal your salvation, he will do
[29:20] Speaker 1: everything in his power to make you live like you're
[29:23] Speaker 1: still guilty. but Paul destroys this lie in Romans 8.1-.
[29:29] Speaker 1: Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are
[29:33] Speaker 1: in Christ Jesus. Did you hear that? No condemnation. Not
[29:37] Speaker 1: less condemnation. Not some condemnation. None. That means if you
[29:42] Speaker 1: are in Christ, you will never be condemned again. Ever.
[29:46] Speaker 1: And yet so many believers still walk around carrying guilt
[29:50] Speaker 1: and shame as if God is waiting for them to fail. Why?
[29:55] Speaker 1: Because they don't understand the difference between conviction and condemnation.
[30:00] Speaker 1: Conviction comes from God. Condemnation comes from Satan. Conviction says,
[30:06] Speaker 1: you are better than this. Let me help you grow.
[30:10] Speaker 1: Condemnation says, you will never change. Just give up. Conviction
[30:15] Speaker 1: leads to repentance, hope, and transformation. Condemnation leads to shame, fear,
[30:21] Speaker 1: and distance from God. And if you don't recognize the difference,
[30:25] Speaker 1: you will spend your life running from a God who
[30:28] Speaker 1: is actually calling you closer. This is what happened to
[30:32] Speaker 1: Adam and Eve. The moment they sinned, what did they do?
[30:35] Speaker 1: They hid. Not because God rejected them, but because shame
[30:39] Speaker 1: made them believe He would. I heard you in the garden,
[30:43] Speaker 1: and I was afraid because I was naked. So I hid.
[30:48] Speaker 1: Genesis 3.10 Shame always makes you run from God, but
[30:54] Speaker 1: God never told them to hide. In fact, he came
[30:57] Speaker 1: looking for them. And this is exactly what Paul is
[31:00] Speaker 1: telling us in Romans, that because of Jesus, we never
[31:03] Speaker 1: have to hide again. That means the mistakes you made
[31:08] Speaker 1: last week, no condemnation. The sins you regret from your past,
[31:13] Speaker 1: no condemnation. The times you've fallen short, failed, or disappointed yourself,
[31:18] Speaker 1: no condemnation. Because when God looks at you, he doesn't
[31:23] Speaker 1: see your sin anymore. He sees Jesus. This is what
[31:26] Speaker 1: Paul means when he says we are in Christ. It's
[31:30] Speaker 1: not just a nice phrase, it's a spiritual reality. Picture this.
[31:34] Speaker 1: Imagine you are standing outside in a thunderstorm, soaking wet,
[31:39] Speaker 1: exposed to the cold, completely vulnerable. Then someone comes and
[31:46] Speaker 1: hands you an umbrella. Now as long as you are
[31:50] Speaker 1: under the umbrella, the storm can't touch you. The rain
[31:54] Speaker 1: is still falling, but it is no longer falling on you.
[31:57] Speaker 1: That is what it means to be in Christ. The
[32:00] Speaker 1: judgment of God is real. The weight of sin is real.
[32:04] Speaker 1: But if you are in Christ, it no longer falls
[32:07] Speaker 1: on you. It fell on Jesus. This is why Paul
[32:11] Speaker 1: writes in 2 Corinthians 5.21-2, God made him who had
[32:16] Speaker 1: no sin to be sin for us, so that in
[32:19] Speaker 1: him we might become the righteousness of God. Do you
[32:23] Speaker 1: see it? Jesus became sin so that we could become righteous.
[32:27] Speaker 1: That means if you still feel condemned, it's not coming
[32:31] Speaker 1: from God. It's coming from the enemy. Revelation 12.10 calls
[32:35] Speaker 1: Satan the accuser of the brethren. That is his full-time job,
[32:40] Speaker 1: accusing you, reminding you of your failures, making you feel unworthy.
[32:46] Speaker 1: And if you believe his lies, you will start to
[32:49] Speaker 1: live in fear instead of freedom. But here's the truth.
[32:53] Speaker 1: If God himself has declared you not guilty, then who
[32:56] Speaker 1: can overrule his decision? Paul asks this very question in
[33:01] Speaker 1: Romans 8.33-34. Who will bring any charge against those whom
[33:07] Speaker 1: God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then
[33:12] Speaker 1: is the one who condemns? No one. Did you catch that?
[33:16] Speaker 1: No one can condemn you. Not the enemy, not people,
[33:19] Speaker 1: not even yourself. And once you understand that, you will
[33:23] Speaker 1: never live in guilt again. But this truth doesn't just
[33:27] Speaker 1: set you free from shame. It sets you free to
[33:30] Speaker 1: walk in confidence. Because when you finally stop carrying guilt,
[33:35] Speaker 1: you can start running toward God instead of running away.
[33:39] Speaker 1: You can start believing that He actually delights in you.
[33:43] Speaker 1: that he is not just putting up with you. He
[33:45] Speaker 1: actually wants you near, that he is not just tolerating you.
[33:49] Speaker 1: He is rejoicing over you with singing. Zephaniah 3.17. So
[33:56] Speaker 1: let me ask you, are you still walking around with
[33:59] Speaker 1: guilt that Jesus already paid for? Are you still believing
[34:03] Speaker 1: the lie that God is disappointed in you? Because if
[34:07] Speaker 1: Romans 8.1 is true, then you are free. You don't
[34:11] Speaker 1: have to keep repenting for the same sins over and over,
[34:14] Speaker 1: wondering if God really forgave you. You don't have to
[34:17] Speaker 1: wake up feeling like a failure, thinking you'll never be enough.
[34:21] Speaker 1: You don't have to keep looking over your shoulder, wondering
[34:24] Speaker 1: if God is waiting to punish you. The punishment already fell.
[34:29] Speaker 1: The debt has already been paid. The case has already
[34:33] Speaker 1: been closed. And the verdict? No condemnation. So stop running
[34:37] Speaker 1: from God. Stop hiding in shame. Stop carrying what Jesus
[34:41] Speaker 1: already took. Because if you are in Christ, you are free.
[34:45] Speaker 1: And once you believe that, you will never live the
[34:48] Speaker 1: same again. The sixth most life-changing lesson we learn from
[34:52] Speaker 1: Romans is this. God works all things together for your good.
[34:58] Speaker 1: We just learned that there is no condemnation for those
[35:00] Speaker 1: in Christ, that no matter what you've done, you are
[35:04] Speaker 1: fully forgiven, fully accepted, and fully loved. But even after
[35:09] Speaker 1: knowing this, many believers still struggle with a different kind
[35:13] Speaker 1: of fear. Not the fear of condemnation, but the fear
[35:16] Speaker 1: of wasted pain. Because, let's be honest, life doesn't always
[35:21] Speaker 1: make sense. There are moments when you do everything right
[35:25] Speaker 1: and things still go wrong. There are prayers that seem
[35:28] Speaker 1: to go unanswered. There are seasons of pain that feel
[35:31] Speaker 1: completely unnecessary. And in those moments, the question that haunts
[35:36] Speaker 1: every believer is this. God, where are you? And why
[35:41] Speaker 1: are you letting this happen? It's a question that has
[35:44] Speaker 1: crushed the faith of many, because when life falls apart,
[35:48] Speaker 1: it's easy to believe that God has left you. But
[35:52] Speaker 1: Paul gives us a promise in Romans 8.28, one of
[35:55] Speaker 1: the most powerful verses in all of Scripture. And we
[35:59] Speaker 1: know that in all things God works for the good
[36:03] Speaker 1: of those who love Him, who have been called according
[36:06] Speaker 1: to His purpose. This verse is not just a cliché.
[36:12] Speaker 1: It is a guarantee. It means that even when life
[36:15] Speaker 1: makes no sense, God is still in control. It means
[36:19] Speaker 1: that even when it feels like everything is falling apart,
[36:22] Speaker 1: God is still working. It means that even your worst pain,
[36:26] Speaker 1: your deepest regret, and your biggest failure can be used
[36:30] Speaker 1: for good. But here's the problem. Many believers misunderstand this verse.
[36:36] Speaker 1: Some think it means that nothing bad will ever happen
[36:39] Speaker 1: to them, that if they love God, He will protect
[36:42] Speaker 1: them from every storm. every trial, every heartache. But that's
[36:47] Speaker 1: not what Paul is saying. Look at what he actually says.
[36:51] Speaker 1: God works all things together for good. Not all things
[36:55] Speaker 1: are good, but God can work them for good. That
[36:57] Speaker 1: means God is not promising a pain-free life, but he
[37:01] Speaker 1: is promising that no pain will ever be pointless. And
[37:05] Speaker 1: once you understand this, it changes everything. Because now, instead
[37:10] Speaker 1: of asking, why is this happening to me? you can
[37:14] Speaker 1: start asking, how is God using this for my good?
[37:19] Speaker 1: Instead of believing my pain is proof that God has
[37:22] Speaker 1: abandoned me, you can believe my pain is proof that
[37:26] Speaker 1: God is preparing me. But let's be real, this is
[37:29] Speaker 1: hard to believe when you're in the middle of the storm,
[37:31] Speaker 1: when you lose someone you love, when the door you
[37:34] Speaker 1: prayed for stays closed, when life hits you so hard
[37:37] Speaker 1: that you don't even have the strength to pray. So
[37:41] Speaker 1: how do you hold on to this truth when nothing
[37:43] Speaker 1: makes sense? First you have to remember this promise is
[37:47] Speaker 1: only fully understood in hindsight. Think about Joseph. At 17
[37:53] Speaker 1: years old, he had a dream that God would raise
[37:56] Speaker 1: him up as a leader. But instead of stepping into
[37:58] Speaker 1: his purpose, he was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery,
[38:04] Speaker 1: falsely accused, and thrown into prison. For years it looked
[38:09] Speaker 1: like God's promise was a lie, but then one day
[38:12] Speaker 1: Pharaoh had a dream, and in a single moment Joseph
[38:17] Speaker 1: went from prisoner to prime minister. And when he finally
[38:21] Speaker 1: faced his brothers, the same brothers who had sold him
[38:24] Speaker 1: into slavery, he said something incredible. You intended to harm me,
[38:31] Speaker 1: but God intended it for good. Genesis 50.20 Do you
[38:36] Speaker 1: see it? At 17, Joseph didn't understand why he had
[38:40] Speaker 1: to suffer. At 20, he didn't understand why he was
[38:44] Speaker 1: in prison. But at 30, he finally saw the full picture,
[38:48] Speaker 1: and this is how God works in our lives. Most
[38:51] Speaker 1: of the time, you won't see how God is using
[38:54] Speaker 1: your pain while you're still in it. But one day,
[38:57] Speaker 1: you will look back and say, now I see, now
[39:01] Speaker 1: I understand. God was working all along. But in the waiting,
[39:06] Speaker 1: in the confusion, in the seasons when it feels like
[39:09] Speaker 1: God is silent, you have to hold on to what
[39:12] Speaker 1: you know is true. Because if you only trust God
[39:16] Speaker 1: when life is good, then you don't really trust God.
[39:19] Speaker 1: You trust your circumstances. This is what Job had to learn.
[39:24] Speaker 1: He was a righteous man who lost everything, his wealth,
[39:27] Speaker 1: his health, even his children. And in his pain he
[39:31] Speaker 1: asked the same question we all ask, Why God? And
[39:36] Speaker 1: do you know how God responded? He didn't give Job
[39:39] Speaker 1: an explanation. He gave Job a revelation of who he is.
[39:44] Speaker 1: He reminded Job that he is the one who created
[39:47] Speaker 1: the universe, the one who holds all things together, the
[39:51] Speaker 1: one who sees the full picture. And by the end
[39:54] Speaker 1: of it, Job no longer needed an answer. Because when
[39:57] Speaker 1: you truly know who God is, you can trust him
[40:00] Speaker 1: even when you don't understand. And that is what Paul
[40:04] Speaker 1: is telling us in Romans 8.28. He is not saying
[40:09] Speaker 1: you will understand every trial immediately. He is not saying
[40:13] Speaker 1: every moment of your life will make sense. He is saying,
[40:17] Speaker 1: trust the one who does. So let me ask you,
[40:20] Speaker 1: what situation in your life feels hopeless right now? What
[40:24] Speaker 1: pain have you walked through that still doesn't make sense?
[40:28] Speaker 1: Because no matter what it is, here's what you need
[40:30] Speaker 1: to know. God has not wasted a single second of
[40:34] Speaker 1: your life every tear you've cried every night you've spent
[40:38] Speaker 1: wondering why every moment a brokenness he has seen it
[40:42] Speaker 1: all and he is working right now in ways you
[40:45] Speaker 1: can see yet so don't give up but don't let
[40:48] Speaker 1: go don't believe the lie that this is the end
[40:51] Speaker 1: because one day just like Joseph you will look back
[40:54] Speaker 1: and say what the enemy meant for evil God used
[40:58] Speaker 1: for good and when that day comes you will see
[41:01] Speaker 1: that God was faithful all along. The seventh most life-changing
[41:06] Speaker 1: lesson we learn from Romans is this. Nothing can separate
[41:10] Speaker 1: you from God's love. We just learned that God works
[41:13] Speaker 1: all things together for your good, even the pain, even
[41:17] Speaker 1: the failures, even the moments when life doesn't make sense.
[41:21] Speaker 1: But even knowing this, there's one fear that still lingers
[41:25] Speaker 1: deep inside the hearts of many believers. What if God
[41:28] Speaker 1: gives up on me? It's a quiet fear, but it's there.
[41:32] Speaker 1: What if I fail too many times? What if I
[41:35] Speaker 1: mess up so badly that God finally says, enough? What
[41:39] Speaker 1: if I've disappointed him beyond repair? Because maybe you can
[41:43] Speaker 1: believe that God worked in your past mistakes. Maybe you
[41:46] Speaker 1: can believe that he can turn bad things into good.
[41:50] Speaker 1: But can you believe that his love is unshakable, even
[41:53] Speaker 1: when you are the one who failed? Paul answers that
[41:56] Speaker 1: fear once and for all in Romans 8.38-39. For I
[42:01] Speaker 1: am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
[42:06] Speaker 1: neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither
[42:09] Speaker 1: height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will
[42:13] Speaker 1: be able to separate us from the love of God
[42:16] Speaker 1: that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Read that again. Nothing,
[42:21] Speaker 1: not your past, not your failures, not your doubts, not
[42:25] Speaker 1: your struggles, not your worst mistake. Nothing can separate you
[42:29] Speaker 1: from his love. And yet so many believers still live
[42:33] Speaker 1: like they are one mistake away from losing God's love. Why?
[42:37] Speaker 1: Because they think God loves like humans do. Most love
[42:41] Speaker 1: in this world is conditional. People will love you until
[42:44] Speaker 1: you disappoint them. They will love you until you no
[42:47] Speaker 1: longer meet their expectations. They will love you until you
[42:51] Speaker 1: hurt them too much. And whether we realize it or not,
[42:54] Speaker 1: we take this broken version of love and project it
[42:57] Speaker 1: onto God. But God doesn't love like people do. His
[43:02] Speaker 1: love is not based on your performance. It is not
[43:04] Speaker 1: built on your ability to get it right. It is
[43:07] Speaker 1: not fragile, shaky, or easily broken. It is eternal. This
[43:13] Speaker 1: is what Paul wants us to understand. God's love is
[43:17] Speaker 1: not something you can lose. You did not earn it,
[43:20] Speaker 1: so you cannot lose it. This is the kind of
[43:22] Speaker 1: love that Jesus describes in Luke 15 when he tells
[43:27] Speaker 1: three parables back to back. all making the same point.
[43:31] Speaker 1: A shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep just to go after
[43:35] Speaker 1: one that was lost. A woman who turns her house
[43:38] Speaker 1: upside down, searching for one lost coin. A father who
[43:42] Speaker 1: runs to embrace a rebellious son who's squandered everything. And
[43:47] Speaker 1: do you know what happens every single time? Joy. Celebration.
[43:53] Speaker 1: No hesitation. The shepherd doesn't punish the sheep for wandering.
[43:58] Speaker 1: The woman doesn't get mad at the coin for being lost.
[44:01] Speaker 1: The father doesn't shame the son for what he did,
[44:05] Speaker 1: because the moment they return, that's all that matters. This
[44:09] Speaker 1: is what God's love looks like, and it is not reluctant.
[44:12] Speaker 1: It is not hesitant. It is not half-hearted. It is
[44:16] Speaker 1: reckless in pursuit, relentless in grace, and unstoppable in power.
[44:22] Speaker 1: And yet so many believers still live like they have
[44:25] Speaker 1: to earn it. They think, God loved me when I
[44:28] Speaker 1: first got saved, but now I've failed too many times. Or,
[44:33] Speaker 1: God loves me, but he's probably disappointed in me. Or even,
[44:37] Speaker 1: God loves me, but he's distant. I don't feel close
[44:41] Speaker 1: to him anymore. But what does Paul say? Neither death
[44:45] Speaker 1: nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor
[44:49] Speaker 1: the future, nor any powers. That means your past cannot
[44:53] Speaker 1: separate you from His love. Your present cannot separate you
[44:57] Speaker 1: from His love. And your future failures will not separate
[45:00] Speaker 1: you from His love. That means God is not waiting
[45:04] Speaker 1: for you to impress Him. He is not keeping score
[45:07] Speaker 1: of your failures. He's not holding back His love until
[45:10] Speaker 1: you get it together. He has already chosen to love
[45:14] Speaker 1: you forever. And here's the truth. The enemy hates this
[45:18] Speaker 1: message because he knows that a believer who is fully
[45:22] Speaker 1: convinced of God's love is unstoppable. A believer who knows
[45:27] Speaker 1: they are loved prays with boldness. A believer who knows
[45:31] Speaker 1: they are loved does not back down in fear. A
[45:35] Speaker 1: believer who knows they are loved does not waste time
[45:38] Speaker 1: trying to earn what is already theirs. This is why
[45:41] Speaker 1: the enemy works overtime to plant doubts in your heart.
[45:46] Speaker 1: He will whisper, you're too broken. You've failed too many times.
[45:50] Speaker 1: You're unworthy of God's love. But you know what shuts
[45:53] Speaker 1: him up? The cross. Because the cross is proof that
[45:57] Speaker 1: God already made up his mind about you. God demonstrates
[46:01] Speaker 1: his own love for us in this. While we were
[46:04] Speaker 1: still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5, colon 8.
[46:09] Speaker 1: While you were still a sinner. before you repented, before
[46:13] Speaker 1: you changed, before you even knew him, and he loved
[46:16] Speaker 1: you first. So let me ask you, do you believe this?
[46:19] Speaker 1: Not just in your mind, but in your heart. Do
[46:22] Speaker 1: you believe that God's love is not fragile? Do you
[46:25] Speaker 1: believe that God's love has not changed even when you have?
[46:30] Speaker 1: Do you believe that nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate you
[46:34] Speaker 1: from him? Because here's the truth. His love has never wavered.
[46:39] Speaker 1: Not when you doubted, not when you failed, not when
[46:42] Speaker 1: you ran away. His love is still here. His arms
[46:45] Speaker 1: are still open. His grace is still enough. Because nothing,
[46:49] Speaker 1: absolutely nothing, can separate you from his love. And once
[46:53] Speaker 1: you understand that, you will never live in fear again.
[46:57] Speaker 1: The eighth most life-changing lesson we learn from Romans is this.
[47:02] Speaker 1: You have been grafted into God's family. We just learned
[47:06] Speaker 1: that nothing can separate us from God's love, not our failures,
[47:10] Speaker 1: not our struggles, not even our worst mistakes. But even
[47:14] Speaker 1: after understanding that truth, many people still wrestle with a deep,
[47:18] Speaker 1: lingering fear. Do I really belong? Because it's one thing
[47:24] Speaker 1: to believe that God loves you, but it's another thing
[47:27] Speaker 1: to believe that you are part of His family. Many
[47:31] Speaker 1: people live with the weight of rejection, whether from their past,
[47:35] Speaker 1: their upbringing, or their own choices. They feel like outsiders
[47:40] Speaker 1: in the kingdom of God. Maybe they didn't grow up
[47:43] Speaker 1: in church. Maybe they have a messy history. Maybe they've
[47:47] Speaker 1: spent years feeling like they don't quite fit in. And
[47:51] Speaker 1: for the Gentiles in Paul's time, that was exactly how
[47:54] Speaker 1: they felt. For thousands of years, the Jewish people were
[47:58] Speaker 1: God's chosen nation. They had the covenants, the promises, the heritage.
[48:04] Speaker 1: But when Jesus came, he did something radical. He opened
[48:08] Speaker 1: the door of salvation to the Gentiles as well. This
[48:12] Speaker 1: was shocking, the idea that people outside of Israel, pagans, outsiders,
[48:17] Speaker 1: those who had never followed the law, could now be
[48:20] Speaker 1: fully included in God's family. It was unthinkable. But Paul
[48:25] Speaker 1: makes it clear in Romans 11, 17, Did you catch that?
[48:28] Speaker 1: Paul is using the image of an olive tree to
[48:30] Speaker 1: describe God's people. The original tree represents Israel, the first
[48:52] Speaker 1: people chosen by God. Some branches were broken off because
[48:56] Speaker 1: of unbelief. And then, this is the shocking part, God
[49:00] Speaker 1: took wild olive branches and grafted them in. That means
[49:05] Speaker 1: the Gentiles, outsiders, those who weren't born into God's chosen people,
[49:10] Speaker 1: were now fully included in his family, not as second-class citizens,
[49:15] Speaker 1: not as outsiders looking in. but as sons and daughters,
[49:19] Speaker 1: And this is where it gets personal, because that includes you.
[49:24] Speaker 1: Maybe you've never felt like you belonged in church. Maybe
[49:27] Speaker 1: your past makes you feel like you don't fit in
[49:30] Speaker 1: with spiritual people. Maybe you've believed the lie that God's
[49:34] Speaker 1: promises are for others, but not for you. But Romans
[49:39] Speaker 1: 11 tells a different story. You have been grafted in.
[49:43] Speaker 1: You are not a guest in God's house. You are
[49:46] Speaker 1: not a visitor in the kingdom. You are not on
[49:49] Speaker 1: the outside looking in. You are fully part of the family.
[49:53] Speaker 1: And once you understand this, it changes everything, because so
[49:57] Speaker 1: many people go through life with spiritual imposter syndrome. this
[50:01] Speaker 1: constant feeling that they are not Christian enough, not good enough,
[50:06] Speaker 1: not worthy enough to truly belong. But what does Paul say? You,
[50:11] Speaker 1: though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in. That
[50:15] Speaker 1: means your past does not disqualify you. Your mistakes do
[50:18] Speaker 1: not remove you from the promise. Your background, no matter
[50:22] Speaker 1: how messy, no matter how broken, does not change the
[50:25] Speaker 1: fact that you are fully part of God's family. This
[50:29] Speaker 1: is why Jesus constantly sought out outsiders. A Samaritan woman
[50:34] Speaker 1: who had been through five broken relationships, John 4. A
[50:39] Speaker 1: tax collector who was hated by his own people, Luke 19.
[50:43] Speaker 1: A criminal dying on a cross with nothing to offer
[50:47] Speaker 1: except a desperate prayer, Luke 23. Jesus never told them,
[50:52] Speaker 1: you don't belong. He told them, come, you are welcome,
[50:56] Speaker 1: you are mine. And the same is true for you.
[51:00] Speaker 1: You are not a mistake. You are not a second-class Christian.
[51:03] Speaker 1: You are not an outsider trying to fit in. You
[51:06] Speaker 1: have been grafted in by God himself. And once he
[51:09] Speaker 1: grafts you in, no one can remove you. But here's
[51:13] Speaker 1: where many people struggle. They don't feel like they belong.
[51:16] Speaker 1: Maybe they didn't grow up in a Christian home. Maybe
[51:19] Speaker 1: they carry shame from their past. Maybe they walk into
[51:22] Speaker 1: church and feel like everyone else has it together, except them.
[51:27] Speaker 1: But listen, God does not base your place in His
[51:30] Speaker 1: family on your feelings. Your emotions may tell you, I
[51:34] Speaker 1: don't belong. But truth says, you have been grafted in.
[51:38] Speaker 1: Your mind may say, I don't deserve this. But grace says,
[51:41] Speaker 1: you are here because of Jesus, not because of you.
[51:45] Speaker 1: And this is the beauty of the gospel. It is
[51:47] Speaker 1: for everyone. This is why Jesus told the parable of
[51:52] Speaker 1: the great banquet, Luke 14.16-24. The religious leaders, the ones
[51:58] Speaker 1: who thought they were entitled to a place at God's table,
[52:01] Speaker 1: rejected the invitation. So what did the master do? He
[52:05] Speaker 1: sent his servants into the streets, go out quickly into
[52:09] Speaker 1: the streets and alleys of the town, and bring in
[52:11] Speaker 1: the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame. Luke 14.21
[52:17] Speaker 1: Because in the kingdom of God the table is not
[52:20] Speaker 1: reserved for those who deserve it. The table is for
[52:24] Speaker 1: those who accept the invitation, and God is telling you,
[52:28] Speaker 1: you belong here. So let me ask you, do you
[52:31] Speaker 1: still see yourself as an outsider? Are you still believing
[52:35] Speaker 1: the lie that God's promises are for others, but not
[52:39] Speaker 1: for you? because today that lie has to die. You
[52:43] Speaker 1: are fully loved. You are fully chosen. You are fully
[52:46] Speaker 1: part of God's family, not because of where you came from,
[52:50] Speaker 1: not because of what you've done, but because God himself
[52:53] Speaker 1: grafted you in. And once you understand that, you will
[52:57] Speaker 1: never doubt your place again. The ninth most life-changing lesson
[53:01] Speaker 1: we learn from Romans is this. You are transformed by
[53:05] Speaker 1: renewing your mind. We just learned that you've been grafted
[53:08] Speaker 1: into God's family. that no matter your past, your background,
[53:12] Speaker 1: or where you come from, you belong. But even after
[53:15] Speaker 1: understanding this truth, many believers still struggle to live like
[53:19] Speaker 1: it's real, because even when God has changed your identity,
[53:24] Speaker 1: you will never walk in it if your mind is
[53:26] Speaker 1: still stuck in the past. This is why so many
[53:31] Speaker 1: Christians still live in fear, still battle shame, still feel unworthy,
[53:37] Speaker 1: not because God hasn't freed them, but because their minds
[53:40] Speaker 1: haven't caught up with the truth yet. And this is
[53:43] Speaker 1: exactly what Paul addresses in Romans 12.2- Do not conform
[53:49] Speaker 1: to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by
[53:52] Speaker 1: the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able
[53:56] Speaker 1: to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing,
[54:02] Speaker 1: and perfect will. Notice what Paul does not say. He
[54:06] Speaker 1: does not say, be transformed by trying harder. He does
[54:11] Speaker 1: not say, be transformed by fixing yourself first. He does
[54:15] Speaker 1: not say, be transformed by doing better. He says, be
[54:20] Speaker 1: transformed by the renewing of your mind. Because every battle
[54:25] Speaker 1: you face in your spiritual life is first won or
[54:28] Speaker 1: lost in your mind. Think about it. The moment Eve
[54:33] Speaker 1: doubted God's word, sin entered the world. The moment the
[54:38] Speaker 1: Israelites believed they were too weak, they wandered in the wilderness.
[54:42] Speaker 1: The moment Peter focused on the wind and the waves,
[54:45] Speaker 1: he sank, because before sin happens in your actions, it
[54:50] Speaker 1: starts in your thoughts. Before fear controls your life, it
[54:54] Speaker 1: first takes hold of your mind. Before anxiety overwhelms you,
[54:59] Speaker 1: it first fills your thinking. Before temptation leads you to sin,
[55:04] Speaker 1: it first convinces you that you need what God told
[55:07] Speaker 1: you to avoid. And this is why renewing your mind
[55:11] Speaker 1: is not optional, because if your mind is not being
[55:14] Speaker 1: renewed by God's truth, it will be conformed to the
[55:18] Speaker 1: world's lies. This is what Paul means when he says,
[55:22] Speaker 1: do not conform to the pattern of this world, because
[55:26] Speaker 1: the world has a pattern, a way of thinking, a
[55:30] Speaker 1: system of beliefs, a cycle that keeps people trapped. And
[55:34] Speaker 1: whether you realize it or not, you have been shaped
[55:37] Speaker 1: by it. The world says you are what you do.
[55:40] Speaker 1: God says you are who I say you are. The
[55:43] Speaker 1: world says you have to prove yourself. God says you
[55:47] Speaker 1: are already accepted. The world says you will never change.
[55:51] Speaker 1: God says, I am making you new, and if you
[55:54] Speaker 1: do not renew your mind, you will continue to live
[55:57] Speaker 1: according to the world's lies, even while believing in Jesus.
[56:02] Speaker 1: This is why so many believers still walk in fear,
[56:06] Speaker 1: still battle shame, still feel like they are not enough,
[56:09] Speaker 1: because the enemy doesn't have to take your salvation to
[56:13] Speaker 1: keep you bound. All he has to do is control
[56:16] Speaker 1: your thoughts. And this is why Paul says in 2
[56:19] Speaker 1: Corinthians 10 5- We take captive every thought to make
[56:24] Speaker 1: it obedient to Christ, because your thoughts are not harmless.
[56:28] Speaker 1: They are either leading you into truth or keeping you
[56:31] Speaker 1: in bondage. And if you do not take control of
[56:34] Speaker 1: your mind, it will take control of you. So how
[56:38] Speaker 1: do you actually renew your mind? First, you have to
[56:41] Speaker 1: identify the lies. What thoughts have been playing on repeat
[56:45] Speaker 1: in your mind? Maybe it's, I will always struggle with this,
[56:48] Speaker 1: or I'm not worthy of love, or God is disappointed
[56:52] Speaker 1: in me. These are not just thoughts, they are strongholds.
[56:56] Speaker 1: They are deeply ingrained patterns of thinking that keep you
[56:59] Speaker 1: from walking in the freedom God has already given you.
[57:03] Speaker 1: And strongholds do not break on their own. Second, you
[57:06] Speaker 1: have to replace lies with truth. This is where most
[57:10] Speaker 1: people fail. They try to stop thinking negatively. They try
[57:14] Speaker 1: to stop believing lies. But you cannot just remove a thought.
[57:18] Speaker 1: You must replace it. This is why Jesus said in
[57:22] Speaker 1: Matthew 4, 4- Man shall not live on bread alone,
[57:26] Speaker 1: but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
[57:30] Speaker 1: Because just like your body needs physical food to stay strong,
[57:35] Speaker 1: Your mind needs spiritual food to stay free. That means
[57:39] Speaker 1: you have to feed your mind truth daily. If the
[57:41] Speaker 1: enemy tells you you are unworthy, you respond with, I
[57:45] Speaker 1: am chosen, holy, and dearly loved. Colossians 3.12 If the
[57:50] Speaker 1: enemy says you will always be stuck, you declare where
[57:54] Speaker 1: the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2
[57:59] Speaker 1: Corinthians 3.17 If the enemy whispers God has abandoned you,
[58:05] Speaker 1: You remind yourself, He will never leave me nor forsake me.
[58:09] Speaker 1: Hebrews 13.5 Because when you change your thoughts, you change
[58:15] Speaker 1: your life. And finally, you have to be consistent. Renewing
[58:19] Speaker 1: your mind is not a one-time event. It is a
[58:22] Speaker 1: daily process. Because the enemy is relentless. He will attack
[58:26] Speaker 1: your mind when you wake up. He will remind you
[58:29] Speaker 1: of your past when you're trying to move forward. He
[58:32] Speaker 1: will whisper lies... when you're exhausted, discouraged, and weak. But
[58:37] Speaker 1: if you are consistently filling your mind with truth, he
[58:41] Speaker 1: loses his power over you. This is why David wrote
[58:45] Speaker 1: in Psalm 119.11- I have hidden your word in my heart,
[58:46] Speaker 1: that I might not sin against you. Because the more
[58:54] Speaker 1: of God's word you have in you, the less room
[58:57] Speaker 1: there is for the enemy's lies. So let me ask you,
[59:00] Speaker 1: what thoughts have been keeping you bound? Because today it's
[59:04] Speaker 1: time to take them captive. It's time to stop living
[59:07] Speaker 1: according to the world's pattern and start walking. in God's truth.
[59:11] Speaker 1: It's time to break free from every lie that has
[59:14] Speaker 1: kept you small, fearful, and insecure. Because once your mind
[59:19] Speaker 1: is renewed, your life will be transformed. And once you
[59:23] Speaker 1: experience that transformation, you will never think the same way again.
[59:27] Speaker 1: The tenth most life-changing lesson we learn from Romans is this.
[59:31] Speaker 1: Nothing you do can earn God's love, but everything you
[59:35] Speaker 1: do can reflect it. We just learned that you are
[59:39] Speaker 1: transformed by the renewing of your mind, that true spiritual
[59:44] Speaker 1: growth begins with changing the way you think. But now,
[59:49] Speaker 1: Paul takes us one step further. Because once your mind
[59:53] Speaker 1: is renewed, once you start thinking differently, it must change
[59:57] Speaker 1: the way you live. And this is where many believers
[1:00:00] Speaker 1: get stuck. They know they are saved by grace. They
[1:00:03] Speaker 1: know they don't have to earn God's love. They know
[1:00:06] Speaker 1: salvation is a free gift, not a reward for good behavior.
[1:00:09] Speaker 1: But deep down, there's still a tension. If we're saved
[1:00:13] Speaker 1: by grace alone, why does obedience still matter? If we
[1:00:16] Speaker 1: don't have to prove ourselves to God, why does how
[1:00:20] Speaker 1: we live matter? make a difference. Paul answers this in
[1:00:25] Speaker 1: Romans 13, 8- Let no debt remain outstanding except the
[1:00:30] Speaker 1: continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others
[1:00:34] Speaker 1: has fulfilled the law. At first glance, this verse might
[1:00:39] Speaker 1: seem out of place, but when you step back, you
[1:00:42] Speaker 1: realize that Paul is summarizing everything he has been teaching,
[1:00:46] Speaker 1: because if you understand everything we've learned in Romans— grace,
[1:00:51] Speaker 1: righteousness by faith, freedom from sin, the love of God,
[1:00:56] Speaker 1: transformation of the mind, then there is only one proper response. Love.
[1:01:02] Speaker 1: Not to earn, not to prove, not to try and
[1:01:05] Speaker 1: secure your place in heaven, but to reflect the one
[1:01:08] Speaker 1: who saved you. This is where so many Christians misunderstand
[1:01:12] Speaker 1: the relationship between grace and obedience. Some think grace means
[1:01:17] Speaker 1: obedience doesn't matter. They say, well, I'm saved by grace,
[1:01:21] Speaker 1: so it doesn't really matter how I live. But that's
[1:01:24] Speaker 1: not grace. That's a cheap imitation of grace. Real grace
[1:01:28] Speaker 1: doesn't make you careless about sin. It makes you fall
[1:01:32] Speaker 1: in love with righteousness. On the other hand, some people
[1:01:35] Speaker 1: believe obedience is still about proving themselves. They know salvation
[1:01:40] Speaker 1: is by faith, but they live like they still need
[1:01:44] Speaker 1: to impress God, still need to be good enough, still
[1:01:48] Speaker 1: need to maintain their righteousness through performance. But Paul is saying,
[1:01:53] Speaker 1: neither mindset is right. You don't obey to earn God's love.
[1:01:57] Speaker 1: You obey to reflect God's love. You don't live righteously
[1:02:01] Speaker 1: to get into God's family. You live righteously because you
[1:02:04] Speaker 1: are already in God's family. This is why Jesus said
[1:02:10] Speaker 1: in John 13.35, By this everyone will know that you
[1:02:14] Speaker 1: are my disciples, if you love one another. Not by
[1:02:18] Speaker 1: how much Bible knowledge you have, not by how much
[1:02:21] Speaker 1: you pray, not by how perfectly you follow the rules,
[1:02:25] Speaker 1: but by how you love, because love is the ultimate
[1:02:29] Speaker 1: evidence that you have been changed by grace. Look at
[1:02:33] Speaker 1: the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19. Zacchaeus was a
[1:02:36] Speaker 1: tax collector, which meant he was not only a thief,
[1:02:40] Speaker 1: but a traitor to his own people. And yet, when
[1:02:44] Speaker 1: Jesus called him down from the tree and offered him grace,
[1:02:48] Speaker 1: something happened. Jesus never told him to change. Jesus never
[1:02:53] Speaker 1: gave him a list of rules. Jesus never demanded that
[1:02:57] Speaker 1: he prove his repentance. But after just one encounter with Jesus,
[1:03:02] Speaker 1: Zacchaeus stood up and said, Look, Lord, here and now
[1:03:06] Speaker 1: I give half of my possessions to the poor, and
[1:03:09] Speaker 1: if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will
[1:03:11] Speaker 1: pay back four times the amount. Luke 19.8 Why? Because
[1:03:16] Speaker 1: grace doesn't just forgive, it transforms. And when you have
[1:03:21] Speaker 1: truly been transformed, you don't live the same way anymore.
[1:03:25] Speaker 1: Not out of fear, not out of duty, but out
[1:03:28] Speaker 1: of love. This is what Paul means in Romans 13.8
[1:03:32] Speaker 1: when he says, Let no debt remain outstanding except the
[1:03:36] Speaker 1: continuing debt to love one another. Because once you have
[1:03:40] Speaker 1: received God's love, the only proper response is to give
[1:03:44] Speaker 1: it away. This is why Jesus summed up the entire
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: law in just two commands. Love the Lord your God
[1:03:52] Speaker 1: with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your
[1:03:55] Speaker 1: neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22, 37-39 Because when you truly
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: love God, it changes the way you treat people. And
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: that's what obedience is really about. It's not about trying
[1:04:10] Speaker 1: to make God happy with you. It's not about trying
[1:04:13] Speaker 1: to stay saved. It's not about following a set of
[1:04:17] Speaker 1: religious rules. It's about living in a way that reflects Jesus.
[1:04:23] Speaker 1: So let me ask you, is your life reflecting the
[1:04:26] Speaker 1: love of God? Do the people around you experience the
[1:04:29] Speaker 1: same grace you've been given? Do your words, your actions,
[1:04:33] Speaker 1: your relationships point people back to Jesus? Do you live
[1:04:38] Speaker 1: as someone who knows they are fully loved and now
[1:04:41] Speaker 1: wants to love others the same way? Because grace is
[1:04:45] Speaker 1: not an excuse to live however you want. Grace is
[1:04:49] Speaker 1: an invitation to live like Jesus, and once you understand that,
[1:04:53] Speaker 1: you will never see obedience the same way again. Everything
[1:04:57] Speaker 1: we have learned from Romans leads to one final question.
[1:05:01] Speaker 1: Will you live in spiritual victory? We have uncovered some
[1:05:05] Speaker 1: of the most powerful truths in Scripture, that you are
[1:05:08] Speaker 1: declared righteous by faith, that you are no longer a
[1:05:12] Speaker 1: slave to sin, that nothing can separate you from God's love,
[1:05:16] Speaker 1: and that your life is meant to be a reflection
[1:05:19] Speaker 1: of the grace you have received. But knowing the truth
[1:05:23] Speaker 1: is not enough, because the truth will only set you
[1:05:26] Speaker 1: free if you choose to live in it. And that's
[1:05:29] Speaker 1: the real battle, isn't it? It's one thing to read
[1:05:32] Speaker 1: about victory. It's one thing to hear sermons about freedom.
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: It's one thing to study Romans and say, wow, that's powerful.
[1:05:42] Speaker 1: But it's another thing to actually walk in it, And
[1:05:45] Speaker 1: this is where many believers fall short, not because they
[1:05:49] Speaker 1: don't believe in Jesus, but because they don't believe that
[1:05:52] Speaker 1: everything he said is true for them. They believe that
[1:05:55] Speaker 1: grace is real, but they still live in guilt. They
[1:05:59] Speaker 1: believe that sin has no power over them, but they
[1:06:02] Speaker 1: still live like they are trapped. They believe that nothing
[1:06:05] Speaker 1: can separate them from God's love, but they still wonder
[1:06:09] Speaker 1: if he's disappointed in them. And this is why Paul's
[1:06:12] Speaker 1: final challenge to us is not just about knowing the gospel,
[1:06:17] Speaker 1: it's about living it. He writes in Romans 8.37- In
[1:06:22] Speaker 1: all these things we are more than conquerors through him
[1:06:25] Speaker 1: who loved us. Did you catch that? Not just survivors,
[1:06:29] Speaker 1: not just forgiven sinners barely making it, more than conquerors.
[1:06:33] Speaker 1: That means your identity is not someone who struggles. Your
[1:06:38] Speaker 1: identity is not someone who is barely hanging on. Your
[1:06:42] Speaker 1: identity is victory. Because spiritual victory is not about what
[1:06:47] Speaker 1: you feel. It's about what God has already declared over you.
[1:06:51] Speaker 1: But here's the thing. Victory is a choice. Think about
[1:06:55] Speaker 1: the Israelites in the Old Testament. God promised them the
[1:06:59] Speaker 1: land of Canaan. It was already theirs. But they still
[1:07:03] Speaker 1: had to go in and take possession of it. They
[1:07:05] Speaker 1: still had to fight battles. They still had to trust
[1:07:08] Speaker 1: that what God said was true, and the ones who doubted,
[1:07:12] Speaker 1: the ones who believed their enemies were bigger than God's promise.
[1:07:16] Speaker 1: They died in the wilderness, never stepping into the victory
[1:07:21] Speaker 1: that was already theirs. And that same choice is in
[1:07:24] Speaker 1: front of you today. Will you step into the victory
[1:07:28] Speaker 1: Jesus already won for you? Or will you stay in
[1:07:31] Speaker 1: the wilderness, believing that the struggles in front of you
[1:07:34] Speaker 1: are bigger than the God who is with you? Because
[1:07:37] Speaker 1: here's the truth. The battle is already won. The cross
[1:07:42] Speaker 1: was the turning point. The resurrection was the final blow.
[1:07:45] Speaker 1: The war is over. Jesus already won. But the enemy's
[1:07:50] Speaker 1: greatest strategy is to convince you to live like you
[1:07:54] Speaker 1: are still losing. That's why he keeps bringing up your past.
[1:07:58] Speaker 1: That's why he tries to make you question your identity.
[1:08:01] Speaker 1: That's why he wants you to believe that victory is
[1:08:05] Speaker 1: for other people. but not for you. But the only
[1:08:09] Speaker 1: way the enemy can keep you defeated is if you
[1:08:12] Speaker 1: agree with him, and that's why Paul tells us in
[1:08:15] Speaker 1: Romans 6.11- Count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to
[1:08:21] Speaker 1: God in Christ Jesus. Do you see it? You have
[1:08:25] Speaker 1: to choose to believe what God says is true. You
[1:08:28] Speaker 1: have to choose to walk in the freedom that is
[1:08:31] Speaker 1: already yours. You have to choose to reject the lies
[1:08:35] Speaker 1: and embrace the truth. And once you do, everything changes.
[1:08:39] Speaker 1: Because when you believe you are righteous, you stop living
[1:08:42] Speaker 1: like a guilty person. When you believe you are free,
[1:08:46] Speaker 1: you stop giving sin power over you. When you believe
[1:08:50] Speaker 1: you are loved, you stop questioning your worth. When you
[1:08:53] Speaker 1: believe you are victorious, you stop fighting battles Jesus already won.
[1:08:57] Speaker 1: So let me ask you, are you living in spiritual
[1:09:01] Speaker 1: victory not just knowing about it not just reading about
[1:09:05] Speaker 1: it but actually walking in it every single day because
[1:09:09] Speaker 1: everything we've learned from Romans is not meant to just
[1:09:12] Speaker 1: be studied It is meant to be lived, so now
[1:09:16] Speaker 1: the choice is yours. Will you keep living in fear, doubt,
[1:09:20] Speaker 1: and guilt, or will you rise up in the victory
[1:09:22] Speaker 1: Jesus already secured for you? Because the truth is, God
[1:09:26] Speaker 1: has already given you everything you need to walk in victory.
[1:09:32] Speaker 1: So don't settle for less. Step into everything he has
[1:09:35] Speaker 1: for you. And as we close, I want to ask,
[1:09:39] Speaker 1: which lesson from Romans stood out to you the most?
[1:09:43] Speaker 1: Was it the truth that you are righteous by faith alone?
[1:09:46] Speaker 1: Was it the reality that sin no longer has power
[1:09:49] Speaker 1: over you? Was it the promise that nothing can separate
[1:09:53] Speaker 1: you from God's love? Drop a comment below, because I
[1:09:57] Speaker 1: want to know which truth from Romans changed your perspective
[1:10:01] Speaker 1: the most. And remember, this is not the end. This
[1:10:05] Speaker 1: is just the beginning. Because now that you know the truth,
[1:10:09] Speaker 1: it's time to live in it. We have walked through
[1:10:12] Speaker 1: some of the most powerful truths in the book of Romans.
[1:10:16] Speaker 1: We have seen how grace changes everything, how faith makes
[1:10:20] Speaker 1: us righteous, how sin no longer has dominion over us,
[1:10:24] Speaker 1: and how nothing can separate us from the love of God.
[1:10:27] Speaker 1: We have been reminded that our lives are meant to
[1:10:30] Speaker 1: reflect the love we've received, and that victory is already
[1:10:34] Speaker 1: ours in Christ. But now, as we come to the end,
[1:10:40] Speaker 1: there is one final thing we must do. Pray, because
[1:10:45] Speaker 1: truth is powerful, but without the Spirit of God breathing
[1:10:49] Speaker 1: life into it, truth alone will not change us. We
[1:10:53] Speaker 1: can hear the message of grace and still live like
[1:10:57] Speaker 1: we need to prove ourselves. We can know that sin
[1:11:00] Speaker 1: has no power over us and still live like we
[1:11:02] Speaker 1: are trapped. We can read about victory and still live
[1:11:06] Speaker 1: in defeat. And that is why we must pray, because
[1:11:10] Speaker 1: transformation is not something we do for ourselves. It is
[1:11:13] Speaker 1: something that only God can do in us. So right
[1:11:16] Speaker 1: now as we close, let's come before him with open hearts,
[1:11:20] Speaker 1: open hands, and a hunger for more. Father, we come
[1:11:24] Speaker 1: before you grateful, humbled, and in awe of the love
[1:11:26] Speaker 1: you have poured out for us. You didn't wait for
[1:11:29] Speaker 1: us to be good enough. You didn't love us because
[1:11:32] Speaker 1: we deserved it. You loved us while we were still sinners.
[1:11:36] Speaker 1: And because of your grace, we are now righteous, free,
[1:11:39] Speaker 1: and fully yours. But Lord, we confess that even though
[1:11:43] Speaker 1: we have heard these truths, we struggle to walk in them.
[1:11:47] Speaker 1: We still battle doubt. We still wrestle with fear. We
[1:11:50] Speaker 1: still hear the voice of condemnation trying to tell us
[1:11:53] Speaker 1: we are not enough. So today, Lord, we ask you
[1:11:57] Speaker 1: to silence every lie of the enemy. Let the voice
[1:12:01] Speaker 1: of truth be louder than the voice of fear. Let
[1:12:04] Speaker 1: the reality of grace be stronger than the weight of guilt.
[1:12:09] Speaker 1: Let the power of your Spirit break every chain that
[1:12:12] Speaker 1: has kept us bound. Lord, we surrender our minds to you.
[1:12:17] Speaker 1: Renew them with your truth. We surrender our hearts to you.
[1:12:21] Speaker 1: Fill them with your love. We surrender our lives to you.
[1:12:24] Speaker 1: Let everything we do reflect who you are. Jesus, you
[1:12:29] Speaker 1: are our victory. you are our righteousness, you are our freedom,
[1:12:33] Speaker 1: you are our hope. So help us to walk in
[1:12:35] Speaker 1: the fullness of what you have given us, not just
[1:12:38] Speaker 1: hearing the truth, but living it, not just knowing the word,
[1:12:42] Speaker 1: but obeying it, not just believing in grace, but letting
[1:12:46] Speaker 1: it transform every part of our lives. And Lord, Let
[1:12:50] Speaker 1: us never keep this to ourselves, because there are people
[1:12:53] Speaker 1: right now, friends, family, co-workers, who are still living in chains,
[1:12:58] Speaker 1: still living in fear, still thinking that they have to
[1:13:02] Speaker 1: earn your love. So use us, God. Make us living
[1:13:06] Speaker 1: testimonies of your grace. Let our lives be evidence that
[1:13:09] Speaker 1: the gospel is real. Let the love we show be
[1:13:13] Speaker 1: proof that we have been changed. And let us never
[1:13:16] Speaker 1: forget that this is just the beginning. Thank you, Lord,
[1:13:20] Speaker 1: for saving us. Thank you for loving us. Thank you
[1:13:23] Speaker 1: for calling us your own. In Jesus' name, amen. If
[1:13:28] Speaker 1: this message has spoken to you today, don't stop here.
