[0:05] Speaker 1: The joyful mysteries.
[0:09] Speaker 2: I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven
[0:12] Speaker 2: and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
[0:16] Speaker 2: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
[0:19] Speaker 2: Virgin Mary, suffered under Punschius Pilate, was crucified, died, and
[0:24] Speaker 2: was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he
[0:28] Speaker 2: rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and
[0:32] Speaker 2: sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
[0:35] Speaker 2: From thence he shall come to judge the living and
[0:37] Speaker 2: the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy
[0:42] Speaker 2: Catholic Church, the Community of Saints, the forgiveness of sins,
[0:46] Speaker 2: the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen, Our Father,
[0:52] Speaker 2: who art in Heaven Hell, would be thy name, Thy Kingdom. Come,
[0:57] Speaker 2: Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
[1:00] Speaker 2: Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us
[1:04] Speaker 2: our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
[1:08] Speaker 2: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen,
[1:14] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
[1:16] Speaker 2: Blessed art thou among women, And blessed is the fruit
[1:19] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus Holy marry, Mother of God. Pray
[1:23] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[1:27] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee blessed,
[1:30] Speaker 2: Art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of
[1:32] Speaker 2: thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God. Pray for
[1:36] Speaker 2: us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[1:40] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee blessed,
[1:43] Speaker 2: Art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of
[1:46] Speaker 2: thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry, Mother of God. Pray for
[1:50] Speaker 2: us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
[1:52] Speaker 1: Amen.
[1:54] Speaker 2: Glory be to the Father and to the Son and
[1:57] Speaker 2: to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning,
[2:00] Speaker 2: is now and ever shall be world without end.
[2:02] Speaker 1: Amen.
[2:07] Speaker 2: The first joyful mystery is the Annunciation. The Annunciation focuses
[2:13] Speaker 2: on the most elevated creature, Mary, the virgin Mother of God.
[2:18] Speaker 2: The angels greeting to Mary is important, Hail Mary, full
[2:23] Speaker 2: of grace. Mary is being addressed as someone who's able
[2:27] Speaker 2: to accept gifts, who's ready to receive. Then the Angel
[2:33] Speaker 2: announces to the Maid of Nazareth that she's been chosen
[2:36] Speaker 2: to be the mother of God. Here's what Gabriel says. Behold,
[2:42] Speaker 2: you will conceive in your womb and bear a son,
[2:45] Speaker 2: and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great
[2:48] Speaker 2: and will be called Son of the Most High, and
[2:52] Speaker 2: the Lord God will give him the throne of David
[2:54] Speaker 2: his father, and he will rule over the House of
[2:57] Speaker 2: Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end. No
[3:02] Speaker 2: first century Israelite would have missed the meaning here. This
[3:07] Speaker 2: child shall be the fulfillment of the promise.
[3:09] Speaker 1: Made to King David.
[3:12] Speaker 2: And this means that the child is in fact the
[3:14] Speaker 2: King of the world, the one who would bring unity
[3:17] Speaker 2: and peace to all the nations. The conviction grew upon
[3:21] Speaker 2: Israel that this mysterious descendant of David would be king,
[3:25] Speaker 2: not just for a time, and not just in an
[3:28] Speaker 2: earthly sense, but forever and.
[3:32] Speaker 1: For all nations.
[3:34] Speaker 2: This definitive king of the Jews would be king of
[3:36] Speaker 2: the world. He would be our king.
[3:39] Speaker 1: As well.
[3:41] Speaker 2: As we pray this decade, I invite you to contemplate
[3:45] Speaker 2: how you have allowed Jesus to be the king and
[3:48] Speaker 2: Lord over your whole life. Our Father, who are in heaven,
[3:57] Speaker 2: hallow would be thy name, thy kingdom, Come, Thy will
[4:01] Speaker 2: be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give
[4:04] Speaker 2: us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
[4:08] Speaker 2: as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead
[4:12] Speaker 2: us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
[4:16] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[4:19] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[4:22] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry, Mother of God. Pray
[4:26] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[4:30] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[4:33] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[4:35] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God. Pray
[4:39] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
[4:42] Speaker 2: Amen Hail Mary.
[4:44] Speaker 1: Full of grace.

[4:48] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry,
[4:51] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[4:54] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen, Hail Mary, full of grace.
[4:58] Speaker 2: The Lord is with thee blessed art thou among women,
[5:01] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary.

[5:08] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen, Hail Mary, full of grace.
[5:12] Speaker 2: The Lord is with THEE blessed art thou among women,
[5:14] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry,
[5:18] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[5:21] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace.
[5:25] Speaker 2: The Lord is with THEE blessed Art thou among women,
[5:28] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry,
[5:31] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[5:34] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace.
[5:38] Speaker 2: The Lord is with THEE blessed art thou among women,
[5:41] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary,
[5:45] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[5:48] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace.
[5:52] Speaker 2: The Lord is with THEE blessed art thou among women,
[5:55] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry,
[5:58] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[6:01] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen, Hail Mary, full of grace.
[6:05] Speaker 2: The Lord is with thee Blessed art thou among women,
[6:08] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy
[6:12] Speaker 2: Marry Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and
[6:15] Speaker 2: at the hour of our death. Amen, Hail Mary, full
[6:18] Speaker 2: of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou
[6:21] Speaker 2: among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus,
[6:24] Speaker 2: Holy Marry Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now
[6:27] Speaker 2: and at the hour of our death.
[6:29] Speaker 1: Amen.
[6:30] Speaker 2: Glory be to the Father and to the Son and
[6:33] Speaker 2: to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning,
[6:36] Speaker 2: is now and ever shall be, or without end. Amen,
[6:40] Speaker 2: Oh My Jesus, forgive us our sins, Save us from
[6:44] Speaker 2: the fires of hell.
[6:45] Speaker 1: Lead all souls to.
[6:46] Speaker 2: Heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. The
[6:55] Speaker 2: second joyful mystery is the visitation. I've always been fascinated
[7:01] Speaker 2: by Mary's haste in the story of her visitation to Elizabeth.
[7:07] Speaker 2: Upon hearing the message of Gabriel concerning her own pregnancy
[7:10] Speaker 2: and that of her cousin Mary we hear, proceeded in
[7:14] Speaker 2: haste into the hill country of Judah to see Elizabeth.
[7:20] Speaker 2: Why did she go with such speed.
[7:22] Speaker 1: And purpose.
[7:24] Speaker 2: Because she had found her mission her role in the theodrama.
[7:29] Speaker 2: We are dominated today by the ego drama and all
[7:32] Speaker 2: of its ramifications and implications. The ego drama is the
[7:37] Speaker 2: play that I'm writing, I'm producing, I'm directing, and above all,
[7:43] Speaker 2: that I'm starring it. We see this absolutely everywhere in
[7:48] Speaker 2: our culture. Freedom of choice reigns supreme. I become the person.
[7:54] Speaker 1: That I choose to be.
[7:57] Speaker 2: But the theodrama is the great story being told by God,
[8:02] Speaker 2: the great play being directed by God. What makes life
[8:07] Speaker 2: thrilling is to discover your role in that drama. And
[8:11] Speaker 2: this is precisely what happened to Mary.
[8:14] Speaker 1: She's found her role.
[8:16] Speaker 2: Indeed a climactic role in the theodrama, and she wants
[8:21] Speaker 2: to commune with Elizabeth, who has also discovered her role
[8:25] Speaker 2: in that same drama.
[8:28] Speaker 1: Throughout this decade of the Rosary, I invite.
[8:31] Speaker 2: You to contemplate what God reveals to us in the
[8:34] Speaker 2: mystery of the Visitation.
[8:37] Speaker 1: Have you searched for your place.
[8:38] Speaker 2: In God's story, abandoning the ego drama for the theodrama
[8:44] Speaker 2: with a response as bold and simple as Mary's.
[8:51] Speaker 1: Our father, who are.
[8:52] Speaker 2: In heaven, HALLO would be thy name, Thy Kingdom, Come
[8:56] Speaker 2: thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
[8:59] Speaker 2: Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us
[9:02] Speaker 2: our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
[9:07] Speaker 2: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
[9:11] Speaker 2: Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with
[9:15] Speaker 2: thee blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the
[9:18] Speaker 2: fruit of thy womb Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God.
[9:22] Speaker 2: Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of
[9:24] Speaker 2: our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord
[9:28] Speaker 2: is with thee blessed art thou among women, and blessed
[9:31] Speaker 2: is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry, Mother
[9:34] Speaker 2: of God. Pray for us sinners now and at the
[9:37] Speaker 2: hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace.
[9:40] Speaker 2: The Lord is with thee blessed art thou among women,
[9:43] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry,
[9:47] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[9:50] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace.

[9:57] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus Holy Marry,
[10:01] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[10:03] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen, Hail Mary, full of grace.

[10:10] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary,
[10:13] Speaker 2: Mother of God.
[10:14] Speaker 1: Pray for us.
[10:15] Speaker 2: Sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen
[10:19] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with THEE
[10:22] Speaker 2: blessed Art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[10:24] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry, Mother of God. Pray
[10:28] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
[10:31] Speaker 2: Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with
[10:34] Speaker 2: THEE blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the
[10:37] Speaker 2: fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God.
[10:42] Speaker 2: Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of
[10:44] Speaker 2: our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord
[10:48] Speaker 2: is with THEE blessed art thou among women, and blessed
[10:51] Speaker 2: is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother
[10:54] Speaker 2: of God.
[10:55] Speaker 1: Pray for us.
[10:56] Speaker 2: Sinners now and at the hour of our death.
[10:58] Speaker 1: Amen Mary, full of grace.
[11:01] Speaker 2: The Lord is with thee blessed art thou among women,
[11:04] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary,
[11:07] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[11:10] Speaker 2: the hour of our death. Amen, Hail Mary, full of grace.
[11:14] Speaker 2: The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women,
[11:17] Speaker 2: and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry,
[11:20] Speaker 2: Mother of God. Pray for us sinners now and at
[11:23] Speaker 2: the hour of our death.
[11:24] Speaker 1: Amen.
[11:26] Speaker 2: Glory be to the Father and to the Son and
[11:28] Speaker 2: to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning,
[11:31] Speaker 2: is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen,
[11:35] Speaker 2: Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, Save us from
[11:39] Speaker 2: the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially
[11:43] Speaker 2: those most in need of thy mercy. The third joyful
[11:51] Speaker 2: mystery is the Nativity. When we turn to Luke's familiar
[11:56] Speaker 2: account of the birth of Jesus, we see that commend
[12:00] Speaker 2: nas as one would expect poems and histories in the
[12:02] Speaker 2: ancient world, to commence, with the invocation of powerful and
[12:07] Speaker 2: important people, Emperor Augustus and Quirinius, the governor of Syria.
[12:13] Speaker 2: But then Luke pulls the rug out from under us,
[12:16] Speaker 2: for we promptly learn that the story isn't about Augustus
[12:20] Speaker 2: and Quirinius at all, but rather about two nobodies making
[12:25] Speaker 2: their way from one forgotten outpost of Augustus's empire to another.
[12:30] Speaker 2: When Mary and Joseph arrived in David's city, there is
[12:33] Speaker 2: no room even at the crude traveler's hostel, and so
[12:37] Speaker 2: their child is born in a cave where some scholars
[12:40] Speaker 2: have recently suggested the lower level of a dwelling, the
[12:44] Speaker 2: humble part of the house where the animals spent the night.
[12:49] Speaker 2: Luke therefore sets up his story as the tale of
[12:52] Speaker 2: two rival emperors, Caesar, the King of the world and Jesus,
[12:58] Speaker 2: the baby King. While Caesar rules from his palace in Rome,
[13:03] Speaker 2: Jesus has no place to lay his head while Caesar
[13:07] Speaker 2: exercises rangy power. Jesus is wrapped in swaddling clothes, while
[13:14] Speaker 2: Caesar surrounds himself with wealthy and sophisticated courtiers. Jesus is
[13:19] Speaker 2: surrounded by animals and shepherds of the field. And yet
[13:24] Speaker 2: the baby King is more powerful than Augustus, and this
[13:28] Speaker 2: is signaled by the presence of an army Stratias and
[13:32] Speaker 2: the Greek of angels in the skies over Bethlehem. All
[13:37] Speaker 2: four of the Gospels play out as a struggle culminating
[13:41] Speaker 2: in the deadly business of the Cross, between the worldly
[13:45] Speaker 2: powers and the power of Christ. For Jesus is not
[13:49] Speaker 2: simply a kindly prophet with a gentle message of forgiveness.
[13:54] Speaker 2: He's God coming in person to assume command. He is
[13:59] Speaker 2: the Lord, the Word made flesh. As we pray this decade,
[14:06] Speaker 2: I invite you to contemplate the great mystery of the
[14:08] Speaker 2: Nativity and the subversive presentation of the rival of the
[14:14] Speaker 2: new King, our Father, who art in Heaven. Hello, would
[14:22] Speaker 2: be thy name, Thy Kingdom. Come, Thy will be done
[14:26] Speaker 2: on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this
[14:29] Speaker 2: day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespassives, as
[14:33] Speaker 2: we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us
[14:37] Speaker 2: not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen, Hail Mary,
[14:43] Speaker 2: full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art
[14:46] Speaker 2: thou among women, And blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus,
[14:49] Speaker 2: Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners now
[14:53] Speaker 2: and at the hour of our death. Amen, Hail Mary,
[14:56] Speaker 2: full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art
[14:59] Speaker 2: thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus,

[15:20] Speaker 2: and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary.
[15:23] Speaker 1: Full of grace.
[15:24] Speaker 2: The Lord is with THEE blessed art thou among women,
[15:27] Speaker 2: And blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy
[15:30] Speaker 2: Marry Mother of God.
[15:32] Speaker 1: Pray for us.
[15:32] Speaker 2: Sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen
[15:36] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace.
[15:37] Speaker 1: The Lord is with THEE.
[15:39] Speaker 2: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[15:41] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry Mother of God.
[15:45] Speaker 1: Pray for us.
[15:46] Speaker 2: Sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[15:49] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with THEE
[15:52] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[15:54] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry Mother of God. Pray
[15:58] Speaker 2: for us sinners at the hour of our death. Amen,
[16:02] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[16:05] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[16:08] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God. Pray
[16:12] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[16:16] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[16:19] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[16:21] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry, Mother of God. Pray
[16:25] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[16:29] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[16:32] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[16:35] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry, Mother of God. Pray
[16:39] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[16:43] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace.
[16:44] Speaker 1: The Lord is with.
[16:45] Speaker 2: Thee blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the
[16:48] Speaker 2: fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Mary, Mother of God.
[16:51] Speaker 1: Pray for us.
[16:52] Speaker 2: Sinners now and at the hour of our death.
[16:55] Speaker 1: Amen.
[16:56] Speaker 2: Glory be to the Father and to the Son and
[16:58] Speaker 2: to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning
[17:01] Speaker 2: is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen,
[17:05] Speaker 2: Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from
[17:09] Speaker 2: the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially
[17:13] Speaker 2: those most in need of thy mercy. The fourth joyful
[17:21] Speaker 2: mystery is the presentation in the Temple. The importance of
[17:26] Speaker 2: this mystery is rooted in the importance of the Temple.
[17:29] Speaker 2: For ancient Israel, the temple was, in practically a literal sense,
[17:35] Speaker 2: the dwelling place of the Lord. Of all the mountains
[17:39] Speaker 2: in the world, Yahweh preferred Mount Zion, and here he
[17:43] Speaker 2: had chosen to live. It was the place of encounter
[17:47] Speaker 2: par excellence. At the Temple, Israel was most itself and
[17:53] Speaker 2: most in touch with its mission to bring the worship
[17:56] Speaker 2: of the True God to the whole world. In the
[17:59] Speaker 2: temp vinity and humanity embraced, and the human race was
[18:04] Speaker 2: brought back online with God. Whenever someone offered sacrifice in
[18:09] Speaker 2: the Temple, he was turning his mind, his life, his
[18:12] Speaker 2: will back to God. He was becoming reconciled. That means
[18:18] Speaker 2: eyelash to eyelash with the Lord. But the sins of
[18:23] Speaker 2: the nation had, according to the prophet Ezekiel, caused the
[18:28] Speaker 2: glory of the Lord to depart from the temple. Therefore,
[18:32] Speaker 2: one of the deepest aspirations of Israel's people was to
[18:36] Speaker 2: re establish the temple as the place of right praise,
[18:40] Speaker 2: so that the glory of the Lord might return. We
[18:43] Speaker 2: can hear this longing and the prophets in the psalms
[18:47] Speaker 2: and in communities like the Essims, when Joseph and Mary
[18:52] Speaker 2: bring the Infant Jesus into the temple. Therefore, we are
[18:55] Speaker 2: men to appreciate that the prophecy of Ezekiel is being fulfilled.
[19:00] Speaker 2: The glory of the Lord has returned to his temple.
[19:04] Speaker 2: As we pray this decade, I invite you to contemplate
[19:07] Speaker 2: the mystery of the presentation of the infant Jesus God
[19:11] Speaker 2: with us God here and now with you our Father,
[19:21] Speaker 2: who art in heaven. HALLO would be thy name, Thy Kingdom, Come,
[19:25] Speaker 2: Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
[19:29] Speaker 2: Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us
[19:32] Speaker 2: our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,
[19:36] Speaker 2: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen,
[19:42] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[19:45] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[19:47] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry Mother of God. Pray
[19:51] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen,
[19:55] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[19:58] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessless it is the
[20:00] Speaker 2: fruit of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry, Mother of God.
[20:04] Speaker 2: Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of
[20:06] Speaker 2: our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord

[22:06] Speaker 2: us our sins, Save us from the fires of hell.
[22:10] Speaker 2: Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need
[22:14] Speaker 2: of thy mercy. The fifth joyful mystery is the finding
[22:22] Speaker 2: in the Temple. After their visit to Jerusalem, Mary and Joseph,
[22:28] Speaker 2: along with the bevy of their family and friends, were
[22:31] Speaker 2: heading home to Nazareth. They presumed that the child Jesus
[22:35] Speaker 2: was somewhere among his relatives in the caravan. Instead, he
[22:40] Speaker 2: was in the Temple of the Lord, conversing with the
[22:42] Speaker 2: elders and masters of the law. Distraught, Mary and Joseph
[22:47] Speaker 2: spent three days looking for him. Any parent who ever
[22:52] Speaker 2: searched for a lost child knows the anguish they must
[22:56] Speaker 2: have felt.
[22:58] Speaker 1: Can you imagine what it was like?
[23:00] Speaker 2: They tried to sleep at night, spinning out the worst
[23:03] Speaker 2: scenarios in their minds. When they finally find him, they
[23:09] Speaker 2: with understandable exasperation. Upbraid him, child, Why have you treated
[23:14] Speaker 2: us like this?
[23:15] Speaker 1: Look?
[23:15] Speaker 2: Your father and I have been searching for you in
[23:17] Speaker 2: great anxiety. But Jesus responds with a kind of devastating laconicism.
[23:25] Speaker 2: Why were you searching for me? Did you not know
[23:28] Speaker 2: that I must be in my father's house? The story
[23:32] Speaker 2: conveys a truth that runs sharply counter to our sensibilities.
[23:37] Speaker 2: Even the most powerful familial emotions must, in the end
[23:43] Speaker 2: give way to mission. Though she felt an enormous poll
[23:47] Speaker 2: in the opposite direction, Mary let her son go, allowing
[23:53] Speaker 2: him to find his vocation. As we pray the final
[23:57] Speaker 2: decade of the Rosary, I invite you to to plate
[24:00] Speaker 2: the paradox at the heart of this joyful mystery that,
[24:04] Speaker 2: precisely in the measure that everyone in the family focuses
[24:08] Speaker 2: on God's call for one another, the family becomes more
[24:13] Speaker 2: loving and more peaceful. Our Father, who art in heaven,
[24:20] Speaker 2: HALLO would be thy name, Thy Kingdom. Come. Thy will
[24:24] Speaker 2: be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give
[24:28] Speaker 2: us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
[24:32] Speaker 2: as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead
[24:36] Speaker 2: us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
[24:40] Speaker 2: Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee
[24:43] Speaker 2: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
[24:46] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Holy Marry Mother of God. Pray
[24:50] Speaker 2: for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
[24:53] Speaker 2: Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with

[27:01] Speaker 2: shall be world without end. Amen, Oh my Jesus, forgive
[27:06] Speaker 2: us our sins, Save us from the fires of hell.
[27:09] Speaker 2: Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need
[27:13] Speaker 2: of thy mercy. Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life,
[27:20] Speaker 2: our sweetness, and our hope to thee. Do we cry,
[27:25] Speaker 2: poor banished children of Eve to THEE. Do we send
[27:29] Speaker 2: up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears? Turn, then,
[27:35] Speaker 2: most gracious, advocate Thine eyes of mercy toward us, and
[27:40] Speaker 2: after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit
[27:45] Speaker 2: of thy womb. Jesus, Oh clement O Loving, Oh Sweet
[27:50] Speaker 2: Virgin Mary, Pray for us, O, Holy Mother of God,
[27:55] Speaker 2: that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ,

[28:05] Speaker 2: and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life.
[28:10] Speaker 2: Grant we beseech THEE that, meditating upon these mysteries of
[28:15] Speaker 2: the most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we
[28:18] Speaker 2: may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise
[28:23] Speaker 2: through the same Christ, Our Lord, Amen.
