[0:34] Speaker 1: eight eight seven thousand CRII that's eight eight eight seven
[0:39] Speaker 1: thousand two seven four or go to our website at
[0:42] Speaker 1: equip dot org. The following program was pre recorded, and
[0:48] Speaker 1: now here's Hank Hanagraph.
[0:50] Speaker 2: Thank you very much for Andy and what are you
[0:51] Speaker 2: hanging on? We'll go right to the phone calls. FIRSTEP Ted,
[0:54] Speaker 2: He's listening in Charlotte, North Carolina. Hi, Ted, Hi, how
[0:58] Speaker 2: are you? I'm Will.
[1:00] Speaker 3: I want to explain to me about the metals six
[1:04] Speaker 3: fourteen fifteen. When Jesus say, if you do not forgive
[1:07] Speaker 3: the others TransPasses, God will not forgive you because I
[1:11] Speaker 3: know that cannot be for salvation, because when we see Christ,
[1:15] Speaker 3: all your transgressions are forgiven. But I want to know
[1:20] Speaker 3: what Christ tried to me on that because if I
[1:23] Speaker 3: die and I have a chance to forgive the other person,
[1:26] Speaker 3: what God's gonna hold against me, or if it's because
[1:30] Speaker 3: a blessing, if you achieve I want to achieve some
[1:32] Speaker 3: blacking from God, you will not bring me that blessing
[1:35] Speaker 3: because I'm not willing to forgive it that the other
[1:38] Speaker 3: person TransPasses.
[1:39] Speaker 2: Well, the point is simply this, that if you have
[1:43] Speaker 2: been forgiven by virtue of that, you will be willing
[1:48] Speaker 2: to forgive. If you have been forgiven an incomparable debt,
[1:55] Speaker 2: it is a horrendous evil to even imagine with holding
[1:59] Speaker 2: forgiveness from those who seek it from us. So the
[2:04] Speaker 2: point is simple. We must ever be mindful that it
[2:10] Speaker 2: was God himself who hung on the cross so that
[2:12] Speaker 2: we might be reconciled to Him for time and for eternity,
[2:17] Speaker 2: and through that reconciliation we are likewise reconciled to one another.
[2:24] Speaker 2: Want to go back to the phone lines, Talk to Steve.
[2:26] Speaker 2: He's in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. High Steve.
[2:29] Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks for technical mink. I'm just trying to figure
[2:32] Speaker 3: out or understand how it is that Jesus Christ is
[2:37] Speaker 3: the Son of God and God at the same time,
[2:40] Speaker 3: and that he would pray to himself.
[2:44] Speaker 4: You know that.
[2:45] Speaker 3: You know Jesus Christ is praying to the Father, but
[2:47] Speaker 3: he's praying to himself.
[2:48] Speaker 2: Well, no, he's not praying to himself. And that's one
[2:50] Speaker 2: of the misconceptions that can come into your mind if
[2:53] Speaker 2: you don't have a grasp of the God, who identifies
[2:56] Speaker 2: himself in Scripture as one God revealed in three persons
[3:01] Speaker 2: who are eternally distinct. So when we think of the
[3:04] Speaker 2: nature or essence of God, we're thinking about the what
[3:08] Speaker 2: of God. When we think of personal distinctions within the Godhead,
[3:13] Speaker 2: we think of the who of God. So there are
[3:16] Speaker 2: personal self distinctions within the Godhead. So Jesus is not
[3:21] Speaker 2: praying to himself, He's praying to the Father. The Father
[3:24] Speaker 2: is not sending himself, He's sending the Son. So the
[3:30] Speaker 2: nature or essence of God has to do with the
[3:33] Speaker 2: whattness of God. The personal self distinctions within the Godhead
[3:39] Speaker 2: has to do with the whoness of God. So there's
[3:43] Speaker 2: one what and three Who's to put it in simple terminology. Now,
[3:48] Speaker 2: this is something and I've said it in the Bible
[3:49] Speaker 2: Lanceman broadcast before that I cannot fully comprehend but I
[3:53] Speaker 2: can apprehend and I bow my knee before God's revelation
[3:59] Speaker 2: of him self to me. So my answer is not
[4:02] Speaker 2: philosophically driven. It's biblically driven. But it's also not a contradiction.
[4:08] Speaker 2: If I said there's one what in three whats, that
[4:11] Speaker 2: is a contradiction. But I'm speaking of different categories when
[4:15] Speaker 2: I talk about ontology and then variously about personal self
[4:21] Speaker 2: distinctions or centers of consciousness within the Godhead.
[4:26] Speaker 3: Okay, well, I'm going to be talking to hopefully Pastor
[4:30] Speaker 3: about this this weekend. I just it just to me,
[4:32] Speaker 3: is just I'm not comprehending it.
[4:35] Speaker 2: Well and again, because.
[4:36] Speaker 4: I understand you're saying there's one God with three.
[4:38] Speaker 2: Distinct personal self distinctions within the Godhead, and I'm not
[4:44] Speaker 2: asking you to comprehend that. I'm asking you to apprehend that, because,
[4:48] Speaker 2: as I've confessed already, I don't comprehend it either. It
[4:51] Speaker 2: is beyond my ken but that doesn't bother me. I
[4:54] Speaker 2: don't serve a finite God, but I am a finite person,
[4:59] Speaker 2: and finite nature of a human being cannot fully comprehend
[5:05] Speaker 2: the infinite nature of the One who spoke and the
[5:09] Speaker 2: vastness of the galaxies came into existence. So if this
[5:13] Speaker 2: were a contradiction, I wouldn't ask you to apprehend it
[5:18] Speaker 2: or even try to comprehend it. But it's not a contradiction.
[5:22] Speaker 2: It's just something that is beyond our ken as finite
[5:26] Speaker 2: human beings, as it will should be for God as
[5:29] Speaker 2: an infinite God, beyond our wildest comprehensions. Back to the
[5:35] Speaker 2: phone lines, we'll talk to David next in Hickman, Tennessee.
[5:38] Speaker 5: Hi, David, Okay, sir, no question, sir? Is this Why
[5:43] Speaker 5: is it that officially, you know, I watched sometimes I
[5:46] Speaker 5: watch these haunted shows and these people are playing with
[5:49] Speaker 5: fire and don't even realize that these ghostbusters like ghost
[5:52] Speaker 5: chasers and doing EVPs and testing, you know, chasing ghosts
[5:58] Speaker 5: and so on and so forth. But there are some
[6:00] Speaker 5: jentleman cases where there are people possessed or houses are
[6:03] Speaker 5: haunted or whatever. They're really possessed and they're dealing with
[6:06] Speaker 5: a demon. Why is it that the only ones that
[6:08] Speaker 5: can actually do a exorcism it's called I think romanali
[6:13] Speaker 5: ritually I believe it's if I'm not mistaken, the Catholics
[6:17] Speaker 5: have Why is it that they are the only ones
[6:19] Speaker 5: that can officially, let's say perform a exorcism, and let's
[6:24] Speaker 5: say the Pentecostal or other religions cannot do this.
[6:29] Speaker 2: Well. First of all, let me say this that the
[6:31] Speaker 2: Bible makes very clear that we are a royal priesthood
[6:35] Speaker 2: or holy nation, and therefore it is not the priest.
[6:39] Speaker 2: It is the priesthood of all believers. So the notion
[6:44] Speaker 2: that someone can do something that someone else cannot do
[6:48] Speaker 2: is not true. As believers, we are called priests and
[6:52] Speaker 2: we can be those who exercise the gifts as representatives
[7:00] Speaker 2: of God here on earth. So you don't have to
[7:03] Speaker 2: go to the priest. We have the priesthood of all believers,
[7:06] Speaker 2: and I think it's very important that we are fortified
[7:10] Speaker 2: with some tools like First of all, understanding the full
[7:14] Speaker 2: armor of God is delineated by the apostle Paul in
[7:17] Speaker 2: Ethesians chapter six. If you want to learn more about that,
[7:20] Speaker 2: I've written about it in my book The Covering God's
[7:22] Speaker 2: Plan to Protect You from Evil. Secondly, let me say,
[7:26] Speaker 2: with respect to the haunted houses that you mentioned, please
[7:30] Speaker 2: understand that hauntings are mythology. There is no such thing
[7:36] Speaker 2: as ghosts. What happens when someone dies is they're absent
[7:40] Speaker 2: from the body, and they're either in torment or in
[7:43] Speaker 2: the presence of the Lord, but they're not haunting houses
[7:46] Speaker 2: or scaring people. That's the stuff of mythology. So we
[7:50] Speaker 2: have to have a correct and credible worldview so that
[7:54] Speaker 2: we can be credible witnesses to the world. Want to
[7:57] Speaker 2: go back to the phone lines now, talk to gym
[7:59] Speaker 2: listening Arizona.
[8:01] Speaker 4: Hi, Jim Hank, Good afternoon, how are you.
[8:04] Speaker 2: I'm good? Thank you, Hank.
[8:06] Speaker 4: I can't tell you how much your ministry means, not
[8:09] Speaker 4: only to me, but I can tell from the people
[8:12] Speaker 4: that call in, and your wisdom is just incredible. And
[8:18] Speaker 4: I'm blown away with your patience, I'm blown away with
[8:20] Speaker 4: your knowledge and just thank you so very much.
[8:24] Speaker 2: Well, it's my privilege.
[8:27] Speaker 4: My question, Hank is I I have a son that
[8:34] Speaker 4: recently said to me, Dad, why do you believe what
[8:40] Speaker 4: you believe? And I bought back to all the things
[8:44] Speaker 4: that I've heard you say over the years, and I
[8:50] Speaker 4: really couldn't come I'm embarrassed to say I couldn't really
[8:54] Speaker 4: come out and tell him why I believe what I believe,
[8:58] Speaker 4: other than to say that I believe there's only one
[9:02] Speaker 4: truth and I believe that Christianity is that truth. And
[9:08] Speaker 4: he said, well, Dan, why is that the truth? And
[9:14] Speaker 4: why isn't what the Torah say the truth? Or what
[9:21] Speaker 4: the Hindu Bible say is true? Or why isn't it
[9:24] Speaker 4: that these other religions can't be true?
[9:27] Speaker 6: Also?
[9:28] Speaker 4: Why is Christ the only way? And who's to say
[9:33] Speaker 4: that there is life after death other than Jesus Christ?
[9:37] Speaker 4: And why does there have to be a life after death?
[9:43] Speaker 2: Well, a couple of things. When you begin to examine
[9:45] Speaker 2: world religions, you'll immediately recognize that they directly contradict one another.
[9:51] Speaker 2: So speaking of the Torah, Moses taught that there was
[9:54] Speaker 2: only one God. Krishna believed in many gods. Buddha was
[10:01] Speaker 2: agnostic when it came to God. So logically, they can
[10:04] Speaker 2: all be wrong, but they can't all be right. Furthermore,
[10:10] Speaker 2: why do you believe what you believe? Well, first of all,
[10:14] Speaker 2: if you look at the heavens, you know there's a God.
[10:17] Speaker 2: Not only that, but God has written a knowledge about
[10:21] Speaker 2: himself large on the tablet of your consciousness. And the
[10:26] Speaker 2: God who reveals himself on your consciousness and in creation,
[10:32] Speaker 2: condescended to cloak himself in human flesh and demonstrated that
[10:37] Speaker 2: he was God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And
[10:41] Speaker 2: one more point, I only have time for one before
[10:44] Speaker 2: we go to break, and that is we can demonstrate
[10:47] Speaker 2: that the Bible is divine as opposed to merely human
[10:52] Speaker 2: in origin. In other words, we can build a cumulative
[10:56] Speaker 2: case for the fact that the Bible is in fact
[11:00] Speaker 2: the word of God, and therefore we can trust the
[11:03] Speaker 2: word of God over the ruminations of humankind. We'll be
[11:09] Speaker 2: right back with more of the Bible Interment broadcast. Please
[11:11] Speaker 2: don't touch that dial.

[12:08] Speaker 1: the words of scripture merely human in origin? Or are they,
[12:11] Speaker 1: in fact the very words of God himself? Three years
[12:16] Speaker 1: in the making and based on two decades of research
[12:18] Speaker 1: and reflection, Hank Henagraph's monumental book Has God Spoken answers
[12:24] Speaker 1: what is surely the most important question facing our world.
[12:27] Speaker 1: In Has God Spoken, memorable proofs of the Bible's Divine inspiration,
[12:32] Speaker 1: Hank counters the contentions of the Bible attackers and clearly
[12:36] Speaker 1: shows that belief in the Holy Scriptures is not a
[12:39] Speaker 1: guess or wishful thinking. It is the only logical conclusion

[15:09] Speaker 1: broadcast and your host and Canigraph.
[15:12] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy. And I was thinking about
[15:14] Speaker 2: the caller just before the break, Jim from Mesa, Arizona,
[15:18] Speaker 2: asking on behalf of his son, what distinguishes Christianity from
[15:22] Speaker 2: other religions? And I thought it would be well to
[15:26] Speaker 2: refer back to something I wrote about in the Complete
[15:29] Speaker 2: Bible answer Book Collector's Edition, where I point out that
[15:33] Speaker 2: Christianity is utterly unique among the religions of the world because,
[15:39] Speaker 2: unlike other religions, Christianity is rooted in history and evidence.
[15:46] Speaker 2: Jesus was born in Bethlehem, not just any Bethlahem, but
[15:50] Speaker 2: Bethlehem in Judea. He was born during the reign of
[15:55] Speaker 2: Caesar Augustus and was put to death by Pontius Pilot.
[16:01] Speaker 2: The testimony of his life, death, and resurrection is validated
[16:07] Speaker 2: both by credible eyewitness testimony and by credible extra biblical evidence,
[16:17] Speaker 2: and no other religion can legitimately claim that kind of
[16:21] Speaker 2: support from history and evidence. Furthermore, of all the influential
[16:30] Speaker 2: religious leaders of the world, whether Buddha or Moses, Zorastor
[16:37] Speaker 2: or Krishna, Mohammed bahu Allah, only Jesus claimed to be
[16:45] Speaker 2: God in human flesh, and that was an empty boast,
[16:50] Speaker 2: for through the historically verifiable fact of resurrection, Christ vindicated
[16:58] Speaker 2: his claim to deity. Other religions, like Buddhism and Islam,
[17:03] Speaker 2: they claim miracles and support of their faith, but unlike Christianity,
[17:07] Speaker 2: those kinds of miracles lack historical validation. One other point
[17:14] Speaker 2: we'll go back to our callers, and that is this
[17:16] Speaker 2: Christianity is unique in that it is a coherent belief structure.
[17:23] Speaker 2: Some Christian doctrines may transcend comprehension. I talked about that
[17:28] Speaker 2: in the first segment today. However, unlike the claims of
[17:32] Speaker 2: other religions, they're never irrational, they're never contradictory. Christianity is
[17:40] Speaker 2: also unique in that it cogently accounts for the vast
[17:45] Speaker 2: array of phenomena we encounter in everyday life. The human mind,
[17:51] Speaker 2: laws of science, laws of logic, ethical norms, justice, love,
[17:59] Speaker 2: meaning in life, even the problem of evil and suffering,
[18:03] Speaker 2: and the issue of course of truth, In other words,
[18:06] Speaker 2: Christianity corresponds with the reality of our present condition. Again,
[18:11] Speaker 2: I've written about that in the Complete Bible answer Book
[18:14] Speaker 2: Collector's Edition, and I might mention as well that if
[18:17] Speaker 2: you join the support team, I'll personalize a copy of
[18:20] Speaker 2: The Complete Bible answer Book Collector's Edition to you, a
[18:24] Speaker 2: family member or a friend. You can find out more
[18:27] Speaker 2: at equipp dot org on the web. You can write
[18:31] Speaker 2: me at Post Office Box eighty five hundred, Charlotte, North Carolina,
[18:34] Speaker 2: zip code two eight two seven one, or you can
[18:38] Speaker 2: talk to our resource consultants at Triple eight seven thousand
[18:42] Speaker 2: and the letters CRI. So many of you express appreciation
[18:45] Speaker 2: for what we do, but remember we could not do
[18:49] Speaker 2: what we do without you. We'll go back to the
[18:52] Speaker 2: phone lines. Talk to John listening at Byron's Center, Michigan.
[18:56] Speaker 2: Hi John, Hi K.
[18:58] Speaker 6: I've got a question at all resurrection. The Bible tells
[19:02] Speaker 6: us that as believers we will have perfect bodies after
[19:07] Speaker 6: the resurrection. But I don't see anything that it says
[19:11] Speaker 6: about unbelievers. What will they get?
[19:14] Speaker 2: Well, they'll get resurrected bodies as well.
[19:18] Speaker 6: But will they be perfect? Will they be like what
[19:21] Speaker 6: they had?
[19:22] Speaker 2: Well? Imagine this for a moment, think about Genesis. This
[19:27] Speaker 2: is an odd way to answer the question, but think
[19:29] Speaker 2: about Genesis for a moment. In God's mercy, after Adam
[19:34] Speaker 2: and Eve ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of
[19:36] Speaker 2: good and evil, they were driven out of paradise by
[19:41] Speaker 2: God's mercy. Otherwise they would have had access to the
[19:44] Speaker 2: Tree of life, but in a fallen, sinful condition, which
[19:49] Speaker 2: is analogous to what hell is, and that is what
[19:54] Speaker 2: we are told. We're told that the it will rise,
[20:02] Speaker 2: and not just believers. Some will rise to everlasting life,
[20:08] Speaker 2: and some will rise to everlasting condemnation, which is to
[20:13] Speaker 2: say they will be resurrected. Thus they will be human.
[20:17] Speaker 2: To be human means you have a body soul unity,
[20:20] Speaker 2: but you will be apart from the glory and goodness
[20:24] Speaker 2: and grace of God for all eternity, and you will
[20:28] Speaker 2: be in a sinful state. Your body will be such
[20:33] Speaker 2: that it will not wear out, but you will be
[20:36] Speaker 2: still one who has experienced spiritual death, which is a
[20:40] Speaker 2: partness or separation from God, which is what hell is.
[20:46] Speaker 2: So what their physical bodies will entail, we cannot say.
[20:52] Speaker 2: They're certainly not going to be transformed in the same
[20:55] Speaker 2: sense that a believer's body is going to be transformed,
[20:58] Speaker 2: but they will be resurrected it.
[21:01] Speaker 6: Okay, all right, Yeah, that's that explains it.
[21:06] Speaker 2: Thanks a lot, Thank you so much, John, God bless
[21:08] Speaker 2: You want to go back to the phone lines. We'll
[21:10] Speaker 2: talk next to Brenda listening on high Point, North Carolina.
[21:12] Speaker 7: Hy Brenda, you know in the Bible God said it
[21:16] Speaker 7: is appointed to every man wants done in the judgment.
[21:21] Speaker 7: What about Anoch and eli Shall how does that affect them, Well.
[21:26] Speaker 2: It affects them the way it affects everybody else. It
[21:28] Speaker 2: is appointed and a man wants to die, and after
[21:31] Speaker 2: that the judgment. So to see the biblical text saying
[21:35] Speaker 2: Elijah's taking up in a whirlwind or Enoch walked with
[21:39] Speaker 2: God and was no more. Does not suppose that they
[21:42] Speaker 2: did not experience the equivalent of death, which is to say,
[21:48] Speaker 2: there's a separation between soul and body. Nor does it
[21:52] Speaker 2: mean that they will not experience resurrection. But resurrection is
[21:57] Speaker 2: yet a future reality for them, just as it is
[22:01] Speaker 2: a future reality for us. In fact, if we're alive
[22:05] Speaker 2: at the time that Jesus Christ returns, will be transformed
[22:09] Speaker 2: in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, but
[22:12] Speaker 2: that transformation will still be the equivalent of death and
[22:19] Speaker 2: then resurrection.
[22:20] Speaker 7: Yes, Joshus, I mean, God has really given you so
[22:25] Speaker 7: much wisdom, and I'm so glad and I'm just wanting
[22:28] Speaker 7: to almost didn't you say that all the disciples were
[22:33] Speaker 7: martyred except for one? Is that true? I can't remember.
[22:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, there's a lot of this that is subject
[22:40] Speaker 2: to tradition. For example, Peter was martyred, but we don't
[22:44] Speaker 2: know precisely how he was martyred. According to tradition, he
[22:48] Speaker 2: was crucified upside down because he did not feel worthy
[22:52] Speaker 2: to be crucified in the same manner as his lord.
[22:56] Speaker 2: But there's not absolute, ironclad proof for that. So that's
[22:59] Speaker 2: why I say, according to tradition, we do know that
[23:03] Speaker 2: John was not martyred. John was exiled on pat Moss,
[23:06] Speaker 2: but he crossed the Aegean Sea and he was installed
[23:10] Speaker 2: as a pastor according to tradition. I think it was
[23:14] Speaker 2: back in ephesis if I recall, and he died as
[23:18] Speaker 2: an old man. From everything that we know. Again, a
[23:22] Speaker 2: lot of this does resort back to some kind of tradition,
[23:26] Speaker 2: the tradition of the fathers. But we have what I
[23:29] Speaker 2: would think is fairly in a general sense, reliable information
[23:32] Speaker 2: to go on in this regard.
[23:35] Speaker 7: Well, thank you, because you really did. I've got a
[23:38] Speaker 7: lot of people to listen to you, because God has
[23:41] Speaker 7: given you the wisdom and the ability to articulate things
[23:45] Speaker 7: to where they make sense to anyone. You know, and
[23:49] Speaker 7: I appreciate you.
[23:51] Speaker 2: Well, thank you. You are very kind.
[23:54] Speaker 7: Well, thank you so much.
[23:55] Speaker 2: God bless you. Back to the phone lines, we'll talk
[23:57] Speaker 2: to Suzanne. She's listening on the web in Baton Rouge.
[24:00] Speaker 2: Here's Louisiana. Hi, Suzanne.
[24:02] Speaker 8: Hi, I'm glad to talk with you, and I just
[24:04] Speaker 8: want to reiterate that what that lady just said. I
[24:06] Speaker 8: really appreciate your wisdom. I love hearing you, and I've
[24:08] Speaker 8: learned so much from you. And I have this question
[24:13] Speaker 8: because I believe in more of a young Earth. And
[24:15] Speaker 8: I was listening about a month ago and you mentioned
[24:17] Speaker 8: the Nature being the sixty seventh book of the Bible.
[24:21] Speaker 2: No, I've never said that. Okay, I've heard people say that,
[24:24] Speaker 2: but I have never said that, because I think there's
[24:26] Speaker 2: a qualitative difference between the Bible and the Book of
[24:30] Speaker 2: Nature such that I would not use that language. I'm
[24:35] Speaker 2: not absolutely disdaining the language, but it's not language I
[24:38] Speaker 2: feel comfortable using personally. The Book of Nature is qualitatively
[24:43] Speaker 2: different than the Bible, but nonetheless it is a revelation.
[24:47] Speaker 2: You're never going to find in the Book of Nature
[24:50] Speaker 2: special revelation. In fact, if you look at the Psalm
[24:54] Speaker 2: Psalm nineteen as a classic case in point, you find
[24:56] Speaker 2: a dichotomy between the Law of God written and Nature.
[25:03] Speaker 2: So these are two separate books, one infallible repository of
[25:08] Speaker 2: redemptive revelation, the other in which we can find the
[25:13] Speaker 2: fingerprints of God, and another that answers a question which
[25:17] Speaker 2: oftentimes the other does not. For example, with respect to chronology,
[25:21] Speaker 2: you mentioned the age of the Earth. I don't think
[25:24] Speaker 2: that Genesis answers the question of chronology. I think that
[25:30] Speaker 2: if you want to answer that question and come down
[25:33] Speaker 2: on either a young Earth or an old Earth, that
[25:37] Speaker 2: answer comes from the Book of Nature. It doesn't come
[25:41] Speaker 2: from a chronology presented in the Book of Genesis. I
[25:46] Speaker 2: think that we're far better off recognizing that what we
[25:49] Speaker 2: have in Genesis Chapter one is the hierarchy of creation,
[25:55] Speaker 2: culminating in the crowning jewel of God's creation and s
[25:59] Speaker 2: sous I'd like to say a whole lot more, and
[26:02] Speaker 2: I am a bit frustrated. I'm gonna have to let
[26:04] Speaker 2: you go because I am out of time. God bless
