[0:07] Speaker 1: You're just in time for the Bible answer Man broadcast
[0:10] Speaker 1: with Hank Canagraph, the radio outreach of the Christian Research Institute.
[0:15] Speaker 1: Our purpose here at CRII is to equip Christians to
[0:19] Speaker 1: pursue sound doctrine, to discern truth and error, and to
[0:23] Speaker 1: become faithful disciples of Christ because life and truth matter.
[0:28] Speaker 1: For more information, to order resources or donate, call eight
[0:32] Speaker 1: eight eight seven thousand CROI, or go online to equip
[0:37] Speaker 1: dot org. The following program was pre recorded. Now here's
[0:42] Speaker 1: the president of the Christian Research Institute, Hank Canagraph.
[0:47] Speaker 2: There very much, Randy Gldivia hanging on. We'll go right
[0:49] Speaker 2: to the phone. Caller's first step is David in Kansas City, Missouri.
[0:53] Speaker 3: Hi, David, Okay, my question is about the rapture good
[0:57] Speaker 3: old ratcher questions. I've heard you talk a lot about
[1:02] Speaker 3: that you don't believe in pre trib which is uh,
[1:06] Speaker 3: actually I believe that too. I've never heard anybody who's
[1:11] Speaker 3: not involved with my Bible College or my church who's
[1:15] Speaker 3: who has believed or not in pre trip. But I've
[1:19] Speaker 3: never heard what you actually believe, you know, like a
[1:23] Speaker 3: mid mid trip or post trip or what's your view
[1:27] Speaker 3: on that well.
[1:28] Speaker 2: I don't think that there's a single passage in the
[1:31] Speaker 2: Holy Scripture that speaks of Christ coming secretly to resurrect
[1:37] Speaker 2: and rapture Christians, either for seven years or half of that,
[1:42] Speaker 2: or at the end of that. Nor is there a
[1:45] Speaker 2: collection of passages that can be construed to communicate a
[1:49] Speaker 2: secret coming prior to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
[1:52] Speaker 2: Our Lord's own words negate that very notion. He said,
[1:57] Speaker 2: a time is coming when all who are in their
[2:00] Speaker 2: graves will hear his voice and come out. Those who
[2:03] Speaker 2: have done good will rise to live, and those who
[2:06] Speaker 2: have done evil will rise to be condemned. So the
[2:11] Speaker 2: plain and literal sense of Our Lord's words suggests a
[2:14] Speaker 2: moment in the future when both the righteous and the
[2:18] Speaker 2: unrighteous are going to be resurrected and judged together. The
[2:24] Speaker 2: notion that believers are going to be raptured during a
[2:28] Speaker 2: secret coming prior to the resurrection of unbelievers is an
[2:31] Speaker 2: imposition on the Biblical text. And I would say as
[2:36] Speaker 2: well that search as you might, you will not find
[2:40] Speaker 2: in the Biblical text a future seven year tribulation during
[2:44] Speaker 2: which a vast majority of Jews will die. And while
[2:48] Speaker 2: that's become very popular and evangelical thinking. There simply is
[2:54] Speaker 2: no warrant for believing that such a thing will happen
[2:57] Speaker 2: in the twenty first century. Now, that does not in
[3:00] Speaker 2: any way presume that tribulations haven't happened in the past.
[3:05] Speaker 2: Jesus of course pointed back to the great tribulation that
[3:10] Speaker 2: Daniel had prophesied. That was a tribulation that was born
[3:14] Speaker 2: out historically under the Old Testament Antichrist in Ticus the
[3:19] Speaker 2: fourth Epiphanes. So there have been great tribulations, and that
[3:23] Speaker 2: tribulation happened to be a seven year tribulation in the past. Certainly,
[3:28] Speaker 2: the tribulation that Jesus Christ pointed forward to when he
[3:32] Speaker 2: looked back at the tribulation prophesied by Daniel, was a
[3:36] Speaker 2: tribulation that lasted for approximately that amount of time as well,
[3:41] Speaker 2: if you take in the whole of it. But certainly
[3:44] Speaker 2: there's no warrant for taking that, particularly three and a
[3:48] Speaker 2: half years of tragedy that happened with respect to the
[3:52] Speaker 2: destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. There's no warrant for
[3:55] Speaker 2: doubling that and driving it into the future.
[4:00] Speaker 3: Because what I what I've been taught, is that and
[4:03] Speaker 3: and I've started discript a lot myself, and and so
[4:05] Speaker 3: that's why I'm just interested talking about it. But uh,
[4:08] Speaker 3: you know, I believe in post trip, you know, but
[4:10] Speaker 3: I believe that when when Jesus comes back, that the
[4:12] Speaker 3: resurrection will happen. That I believe that it's not they're
[4:15] Speaker 3: not separate events and it's one event. But I mean,
[4:18] Speaker 3: like I believe in in the just a doctrine of
[4:22] Speaker 3: post trip.
[4:22] Speaker 2: And but what do you think happens after that, after
[4:25] Speaker 2: Jesus Christ comes back a second time?
[4:28] Speaker 4: Well, my personal.
[4:29] Speaker 3: View and is because I believe he comes the back
[4:32] Speaker 3: of the seventh or at the last trumpet, the seventh trumpet,
[4:36] Speaker 3: and then and then we are we're resurrected with him incarnate.
[4:40] Speaker 2: You know.
[4:40] Speaker 3: PRIs Brenton's fifteen three to two talks about you know,
[4:43] Speaker 3: in the second twinkling or nine and then bam and
[4:45] Speaker 3: then you know those uh you know, thirty days ish
[4:50] Speaker 3: that I believe the bulls are going to take place.
[4:53] Speaker 3: And then and somehow, some way, I don't quite get it.
[4:56] Speaker 3: I'n't quite gotten it all figured out, but but I
[5:00] Speaker 3: I've been taught and have believed that I'm going to
[5:02] Speaker 3: be here with Jesus, I'm going to be resurrect I
[5:04] Speaker 3: mean it raptured. But then I'll be back here, you know,
[5:07] Speaker 3: to be with the Lord as well, able to talk
[5:10] Speaker 3: about you know, the saints coming back to to for
[5:13] Speaker 3: its kingdom. And so I kind of would take a
[5:15] Speaker 3: stance of a post shred pre mill Is that my stance?
[5:19] Speaker 3: He's theological?
[5:21] Speaker 2: Well, I hope you're wrong. My dad died in nineteen
[5:24] Speaker 2: ninety seven with the hope that when Jesus appears the
[5:27] Speaker 2: second time, his soul, which is now absent the body
[5:31] Speaker 2: present with the Lord, will return to his body, and
[5:34] Speaker 2: then he will live forever with the Lord in a
[5:39] Speaker 2: glorified universe, in a resurrected body, that he will not
[5:43] Speaker 2: have to come back to a semi golden age replete
[5:46] Speaker 2: with sin. His hope was that he would return to
[5:52] Speaker 2: a universe that no longer groans and travail, that has
[5:55] Speaker 2: been liberated from its bondage to decay. And I certainly
[6:00] Speaker 2: I hope that he is right, and I think that
[6:01] Speaker 2: the Holy Scripture points in that direction. I don't see
[6:06] Speaker 2: any warrant for believing in a semi golden age for
[6:10] Speaker 2: a thousand years in which there's going to be the
[6:12] Speaker 2: greatest holocaust in the history of humanity, where you have
[6:16] Speaker 2: people in resurrected bodies living with people who are non glorified.
[6:22] Speaker 2: It's a horrifying thought from my perspective, and I don't
[6:25] Speaker 2: see any biblical warrant for it. I've been studying this
[6:27] Speaker 2: for many, many years. I've written on this in various places,
[6:31] Speaker 2: including The Apocalypse Code. I also deal with this in
[6:35] Speaker 2: my book Afterlife. If you want to have further clarity
[6:38] Speaker 2: on exactly what I believe in this regard, appreciate your call.
[6:41] Speaker 2: I want to go back to the phone lines. Doctor
[6:42] Speaker 2: Chris next Hen, Syracuse, New York. Hi, Chris, Hi, Hang,
[6:47] Speaker 2: how you doing. I'm doing well. Good talking to you.
[6:50] Speaker 5: God bless you. I have a question. It actually is
[6:54] Speaker 5: a question from my daughter. She wanted to know if
[6:58] Speaker 5: if Adam and Eve were the first people and they
[7:00] Speaker 5: had canaan abele, where did all the other people come from.
[7:06] Speaker 2: Well, first of all, let me say that Adam and
[7:08] Speaker 2: Eve were the first human beings. This is precisely what
[7:12] Speaker 2: is told to us in unambiguous language in the Book
[7:16] Speaker 2: of Genesis. But then it's repeated in the New Testament,
[7:19] Speaker 2: both by Our Lord and by the apostle Paul. For example,
[7:24] Speaker 2: he says on Mars Hill, when he's at the Areopagus,
[7:28] Speaker 2: from one man, God made every nation of men that
[7:31] Speaker 2: they should inhabit the entire earth. He determined the exact
[7:36] Speaker 2: times and places that they should live, and he did
[7:39] Speaker 2: that so that men might reach out for him and
[7:42] Speaker 2: find him, though he is not far from each one
[7:44] Speaker 2: of us. So you start with the presupposition that the
[7:47] Speaker 2: Bible is very clear, unambiguous, that all of us derived
[7:52] Speaker 2: ultimately from Adam and Eve as the first humans on
[7:57] Speaker 2: the planet, as far as where the offspring of Adam
[8:01] Speaker 2: and Eve got their wives and so forth they intermarried.
[8:05] Speaker 2: Of course, Adam lived for almost a thousand years, so
[8:09] Speaker 2: if he took serious God's charge to be fruitful and
[8:12] Speaker 2: increase in number, you can imagine that there were a
[8:16] Speaker 2: lot of people around during that period of time, And
[8:19] Speaker 2: certainly Cain and Abel were two of his children. In
[8:23] Speaker 2: the Bible, kind of zeros in or telescopes in on
[8:27] Speaker 2: those two so that we get a panoramic view of
[8:31] Speaker 2: them that we don't get of all of the progeny
[8:35] Speaker 2: of Adam and Eve. And since genetic imperfections accumulated gradually
[8:39] Speaker 2: over time. There was no prohibition against incest in the
[8:43] Speaker 2: earlier stages of human civilization. God of course issued the
[8:47] Speaker 2: levitical law against ancestuous relationships at the time of Moses,
[8:51] Speaker 2: hundreds of years after Cain, So there was no problem
[8:55] Speaker 2: at that time for Cain or able to marry a
[8:58] Speaker 2: sister or a niece.
[9:01] Speaker 5: Okay, So you're saying that the Bible just hasn't delineated
[9:06] Speaker 5: the other children that canaan An You've had.
[9:10] Speaker 2: No I mean, the Bible doesn't write about every single person.
[9:14] Speaker 2: You don't even have complete genealogies in the Bible. You
[9:17] Speaker 2: have highlighted genealogies in the Bible for particular purposes, but
[9:22] Speaker 2: you don't have the full picture, and therefore you can't
[9:25] Speaker 2: even establish a chronology based on what you have in
[9:28] Speaker 2: the genealogies. You might be able to in rough form,
[9:31] Speaker 2: but not in comprehensive form.
[9:34] Speaker 3: Right.
[9:34] Speaker 5: And then there was an when the angels came down
[9:38] Speaker 5: and had sex.
[9:38] Speaker 2: With women, right, Well, that too is an interjection of
[9:43] Speaker 2: pagan mythology on the scriptures. The Genesis six passage is
[9:47] Speaker 2: not a judgment of hybrids. It is a judgment on
[9:52] Speaker 2: humanity for the sin of humanity and therefore does not
[9:56] Speaker 2: mean in any sense that demons had sex with women.
[10:00] Speaker 2: That simply is precluded in a Christian worldview, and there's
[10:03] Speaker 2: nothing in the passage that would lead us to believe
[10:05] Speaker 2: that unless you make the fatal error where you read
[10:10] Speaker 2: unifical meanings into all words. So whenever you see sons
[10:15] Speaker 2: of God, you read the same meaning into it over
[10:17] Speaker 2: and over again, on nauseum, on infinitum. Remember, context is determinative.
[10:22] Speaker 2: The word God, for example, can be used in many
[10:24] Speaker 2: different ways. Satan is called God, but certainly is not
[10:27] Speaker 2: God by nature or essence, and yet he's called the
[10:30] Speaker 2: God of this world. People are called gods, again, not
[10:35] Speaker 2: by ontology, but in the sense that there were people
[10:38] Speaker 2: who represented God to the people of God. God is
[10:42] Speaker 2: called God, but when we talk about God as God,
[10:44] Speaker 2: we're talking about God with respect to his nature. And
[10:48] Speaker 2: so again context is determinative. But the notion that sons
[10:53] Speaker 2: of God going into the daughters of men means that
[10:56] Speaker 2: fallen angels had sex with women is not a biblical notion.
[11:00] Speaker 2: It's a non biblical notion. Besides which you have to
[11:03] Speaker 2: recognize that you know angels are non physical and therefore
[11:07] Speaker 2: they don't have the wherewithal to have sex. We'll be
[11:09] Speaker 2: right back in just a few moments with more answers
[11:11] Speaker 2: to your questions. Please don't touch that dial.

[13:01] Speaker 1: Anyone who's been paying attention knows there's a war going on,
[13:04] Speaker 1: not just on traditional morality, civility, and decency, but even
[13:09] Speaker 1: more fundamentally on historic notions of truth. And the enemy
[13:12] Speaker 1: isn't just the onslaught of fake news, facilitated by a
[13:16] Speaker 1: post truth culture and turbocharged by growing legions of ideological spinductors.
[13:21] Speaker 1: Note the real enemies of truth range from postmodernist convictions
[13:25] Speaker 1: that there is no objective truth to militant scientism that
[13:29] Speaker 1: claims that only science can determine truth and religion is
[13:33] Speaker 1: little more than primitive superstitions. But CRI support team members

[14:03] Speaker 1: Breaking the Code. If the Book of Revelation has become
[14:05] Speaker 1: an international obsession, the result has been rampant misreading of scripture,
[14:10] Speaker 1: bad theology, and even bad politics and foreign policy. In
[14:14] Speaker 1: the Apocalypse Code, find out what the Bible really says
[14:17] Speaker 1: about the end times and why it matters today. Hank
[14:20] Speaker 1: Canagraph argues that the key to understanding the Last Book
[14:24] Speaker 1: of the Bible is the other sixty five books of
[14:26] Speaker 1: the Bible, not current events or recent history. The Apocalypse
[14:31] Speaker 1: Code offers sane answers to some very controversial questions, such
[14:35] Speaker 1: as what does it mean to take the Book of
[14:37] Speaker 1: Revelation literally? Who are the Antichrist and the Great Horror

[15:09] Speaker 2: There my tre Indian. Right back to our phone callors.
[15:12] Speaker 2: Next up as Mike, he's listening in North Carolina.
[15:15] Speaker 4: Hi, Mike, Hey, how're you going? Okay? Uh, I just
[15:22] Speaker 4: had a question, and somebody earlier called me in that.
[15:26] Speaker 4: My question was on the Genesis sixth account. The ancient
[15:33] Speaker 4: hebrew always referred to the sons of God as the Elm,
[15:38] Speaker 4: and their ancient texts to say that they did enter
[15:44] Speaker 4: into the women and cause the children to become giants,
[15:47] Speaker 4: men of renowned mighty men, and that when the Israelites
[15:53] Speaker 4: went into the land of Canaan, they said they were
[15:56] Speaker 4: men of great stature, and we were only as grasshoppers.
[15:59] Speaker 4: To look if Amos says Chapter two, verse nine, when
[16:06] Speaker 4: God said that he destroyed them, he said their height
[16:10] Speaker 4: was as these Theedars. So I'm very confused about that subject,
[16:16] Speaker 4: because a lot of them I have a friend of Catholic.
[16:19] Speaker 4: He said, they only believe that his sons of saith,
[16:23] Speaker 4: and that's all there was to it. That the Hebrews
[16:27] Speaker 4: they interpret it as the sons of God, and they
[16:30] Speaker 4: always referred to it as the fallen angels, and that
[16:34] Speaker 4: they did enter into the women somehow and cause this
[16:38] Speaker 4: genetic taperin to occur.
[16:40] Speaker 2: Well, here's the problem with that. First of all, the
[16:43] Speaker 2: notion that demons can produce real bodies and then have
[16:48] Speaker 2: real sex with real women actually would invalidate Christ's argument
[16:56] Speaker 2: for the authenticity of his resurrection, because as Jesus assured
[17:01] Speaker 2: his disciples that a spirit does not have flesh and bones,
[17:06] Speaker 2: as you see that I have, If indeed a demon
[17:09] Speaker 2: could produce flesh and bones, the argument that Jesus was
[17:14] Speaker 2: using would not only be flawed, it would be misleading.
[17:20] Speaker 2: In fact, it might be logically argued that the disciples
[17:24] Speaker 2: did not see the post resurrection appearances Jesus Christ, but
[17:28] Speaker 2: rather a demon masquerading as the resurrected Christ. So once
[17:32] Speaker 2: you buy into this priest supposition, you lose epistemic warrant
[17:37] Speaker 2: for the central event in the Christian faith, which is
[17:41] Speaker 2: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But that's not all. Remember,
[17:45] Speaker 2: demons are non sexual, they're non physical, and as such
[17:51] Speaker 2: they are incapable of having sexual relations and producing physical offspring.
[17:58] Speaker 2: So to say that demonmans can create bodies with DNA
[18:03] Speaker 2: and fertile sperm is to say that demons have creative power,
[18:08] Speaker 2: which is an exclusively divine, not demonic prerogative. If demons
[18:14] Speaker 2: could have had sex with women in ancient times, we
[18:17] Speaker 2: have no assurance that they could not do so in
[18:20] Speaker 2: modern times, and nor would we have any guarantee that
[18:24] Speaker 2: the people we encounter every day are fully human. And
[18:28] Speaker 2: while a biblical worldview does allow for fallen angels, as
[18:32] Speaker 2: I mentioned to the earlier callers, to possess unsaved human beings,
[18:37] Speaker 2: it doesn't support the notion that a demon possessed person
[18:40] Speaker 2: can produce offspring that are part demon part human. Genesis
[18:45] Speaker 2: One in fact, makes it clear that all of God's
[18:48] Speaker 2: living creations are designed to reproduce according to their own kinds.
[18:54] Speaker 2: So elephants don't mate with women, nor do demons, because
[18:59] Speaker 2: each kind reproduces after their own kind. That is not
[19:03] Speaker 2: only biblically mandatory, but it's also scientifically mandatory. In other words,
[19:09] Speaker 2: we don't see transitional forms from one kind to another
[19:14] Speaker 2: kind in the fossil record.
[19:17] Speaker 4: Okay, well, I got majorly concerned. Confused was the fact
[19:23] Speaker 4: that he said this occurred not only in the days
[19:26] Speaker 4: of Noah, but also afterwards.
[19:31] Speaker 2: Well, no, there's nothing in the biblical text that says
[19:35] Speaker 2: it occurs at all. There is certainly indication in the
[19:40] Speaker 2: biblical text that the Mephylim we're around, but there's nothing
[19:44] Speaker 2: in the biblical text that says that the Nephilim were
[19:48] Speaker 2: the product of women having sex with demons.
[19:53] Speaker 4: Well, that's mostly what I was just trying to ask.
[19:56] Speaker 4: Was there a possibility of some genetic hampering that could
[20:01] Speaker 4: have called this? So that clearly states that there was
[20:04] Speaker 4: a Goliath and he was nearly ten foot tall, and
[20:08] Speaker 4: that David was able to conquer go on.
[20:11] Speaker 2: Well, first of all, that's a corruption of the text
[20:13] Speaker 2: in terms of what you're saying with respect to the
[20:16] Speaker 2: size of Goliath. Goliath wasn't ten foot tall. If you
[20:21] Speaker 2: look at all the evidence we have now as a
[20:23] Speaker 2: result of the Dead Seas scrolls, that best Goliath would
[20:27] Speaker 2: have been about the size of Shaquille O'Neal. But even
[20:31] Speaker 2: apart from that, I've just told you that if you
[20:35] Speaker 2: believe or hold to the theory that you're proposing, you
[20:39] Speaker 2: lose epistemic warrant for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Not
[20:43] Speaker 2: only that, but Christ's argument would have become nonsensical. If
[20:47] Speaker 2: Jesus was using nonsensical arguments, he wouldn't have been gone.
[20:50] Speaker 2: So the baggage that's carried along with this is pretty severe.
[20:54] Speaker 2: And the only reason people come to this conclusion is
[20:57] Speaker 2: they want to take a phrase and make it unifical.
[21:02] Speaker 2: When words or phrases in scripture are not unifical, they're equivocal.
[21:06] Speaker 2: And that's not only true in the Bible, that's true
[21:08] Speaker 2: in common parlance. I can say can, and you have
[21:13] Speaker 2: to understand what I mean by can, by the context
[21:17] Speaker 2: in which I use can, Like I might say I
[21:20] Speaker 2: was thrown in the can, or I was thrown into jail,
[21:23] Speaker 2: or I ate a can of tuna, or I can
[21:26] Speaker 2: do something. The context is what gives the word. It's
[21:30] Speaker 2: assigned interpretation. But in a Biblical worldview, demons are non sexual,
[21:37] Speaker 2: non physical, and therefore they don't have the wherewithal to
[21:40] Speaker 2: have sex with women and perish the thought. I mean,
[21:43] Speaker 2: imagine that you hold that worldview. If you do, your
[21:47] Speaker 2: daughter can come home pregnant one day and say no,
[21:50] Speaker 2: I didn't do anything. I mean, it was a demon
[21:52] Speaker 2: that attacked me in the middle of the night. I mean,
[21:55] Speaker 2: this just leads to all kinds of nonsense and lunacy.
[21:58] Speaker 2: It's a worldview. It comes out of Greek mythology or
[22:02] Speaker 2: mythology in general, but has nothing whatsoever to do with
[22:06] Speaker 2: a biblical worldview.
[22:08] Speaker 4: Okay, well, I do believe in the resurrection of Christ.
[22:11] Speaker 4: I am a Christian, just very inquisitive on that passage
[22:16] Speaker 4: in the Games.
[22:16] Speaker 2: Well, I'm not suggesting that you don't believe in the
[22:18] Speaker 2: resurrection of Jesus Christ. What I am suggesting is that
[22:21] Speaker 2: if you hold logically and consistently to the view that
[22:25] Speaker 2: demons can have sex with women, it would undermine warrant
[22:30] Speaker 2: for resurrection because Jesus made very clear in his argument
[22:35] Speaker 2: that it couldn't be a spiritual being that they were seen,
[22:39] Speaker 2: because spiritual beings don't have flesh and bone as you
[22:43] Speaker 2: see that I have. And if, in fact, demons could
[22:46] Speaker 2: masquerade in the flesh, then Christ's argument would have been
[22:51] Speaker 2: rendered null and void.
[22:53] Speaker 4: Okay, thank you, Hey.
[22:55] Speaker 2: Thanks for your call, Mike. I want to go back
[22:57] Speaker 2: to the phone lines now. Doctor Crystal in Oakland, California, Hi, Crystal.
[23:01] Speaker 7: Hey, Hey, how are you doing.
[23:03] Speaker 2: I'm doing good.
[23:03] Speaker 1: Good talking to you, good talking to you.
[23:06] Speaker 7: I want you to know that I really appreciate your
[23:08] Speaker 7: ministry and the fact that your show is a genuine
[23:12] Speaker 7: open forum to question various perspectives pertaining to God's word.
[23:18] Speaker 7: Here's my question for today. I heard John Macarthurs convincingly
[23:23] Speaker 7: present several different interpretations of Jesus's return based on Matthew
[23:29] Speaker 7: twenty four and related scriptures. Would you be able to
[23:33] Speaker 7: provide your thoughtful analysis of it? You know, the first
[23:37] Speaker 7: caller you had was confused about the rapture. Actually he
[23:40] Speaker 7: was promoting post trip and I've been there too, But
[23:44] Speaker 7: when I heard this presentation, I thought, I want to
[23:47] Speaker 7: ask Hank about it, so we can really get into
[23:50] Speaker 7: the scriptures and you could identify what is valid and
[23:54] Speaker 7: what is not valid.
[23:56] Speaker 2: Well, I've written about this as well, Crystal in a
[23:59] Speaker 2: couple of places, as one in sort of cursory fashion
[24:02] Speaker 2: in a couple of entries in After Life, but I've
[24:06] Speaker 2: also written about this in The Apocalypse Code, because there's
[24:09] Speaker 2: so much confusion with respect in Matthew chapter twenty four.
[24:14] Speaker 2: There are many, particularly skeptics of the Christian faith who
[24:17] Speaker 2: suggest that when Jesus said, this generation will most certainly
[24:22] Speaker 2: not pass away until all these things have been fulfilled
[24:27] Speaker 2: that he was by that proven to be a false
[24:31] Speaker 2: apocalyptic prophet, because they presuppose as skeptics, that Jesus was
[24:37] Speaker 2: talking about his second coming when he talked about his
[24:41] Speaker 2: coming in judgment, and they say that he said, well,
[24:45] Speaker 2: immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will
[24:48] Speaker 2: be dark and the moon will not give its light,
[24:49] Speaker 2: the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly
[24:52] Speaker 2: bodies will be shaken. And then they say, well, when
[24:55] Speaker 2: did that happen. That hasn't happened yet, and yet Jesus
[24:58] Speaker 2: said it would take place with in a generation. And they,
[25:01] Speaker 2: of course don't fall for the offuscation that this does
[25:05] Speaker 2: not mean this. This means that, in other words, he
[25:07] Speaker 2: was talking about a future generation. They're smart enough as
[25:10] Speaker 2: skeptics not to fall for that line of reasoning. So
[25:13] Speaker 2: what they do is they say Jesus was a false
[25:15] Speaker 2: apocalyptic prophet. But the problem that they have is they
[25:18] Speaker 2: don't know how to read the scriptures. Obviously, this passage
[25:22] Speaker 2: is a very familiar passage to all Christians because this
[25:26] Speaker 2: passage is repeated in the Old Testament. It always has
[25:30] Speaker 2: to do with God's coming in judgment on nations. And
[25:34] Speaker 2: now Jesus, the heir to the linguistic riches of the
[25:37] Speaker 2: Old Testament prophets and a greater profit than them all,
[25:40] Speaker 2: is using the language of the prophets and applying it
[25:43] Speaker 2: to the soon coming destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple.
[25:47] Speaker 2: So the coming there does not have to do with
[25:50] Speaker 2: His coming as in Second Coming, but rather is coming
[25:54] Speaker 2: in judgment. So once again the skeptics are proven wrong. Unfortunately,
[25:58] Speaker 2: some Christians have fallen into the same trap, not thinking
[26:01] Speaker 2: that Jesus is a false apocalyptic prophet, but not knowing
[26:05] Speaker 2: how to interpret scripture and lgi scripture. Look forward to
[26:08] Speaker 2: being back with you tomorrow for more the show.
