[0:42] Speaker 1: website at equip dot org. That's equip dot org. The
[0:48] Speaker 1: following program was prerecorded and now here's Hank Hanagraph.
[0:53] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy. We begin today's broadcast with
[0:57] Speaker 2: a testimony from Michelle, who writes from Missouri, and I
[1:01] Speaker 2: was particularly touched by this testimony. She writes, mister Hanigraf,
[1:06] Speaker 2: you do not know me, but you helped me so
[1:10] Speaker 2: many times in my life. It was your broadcast I
[1:14] Speaker 2: was listening to you twelve years ago that finally opened
[1:17] Speaker 2: my eyes to the air of my twenty years as
[1:22] Speaker 2: an active Mormon. Praise God for you. I lost my
[1:28] Speaker 2: oldest son in Afghanistan. He was a hero to his
[1:33] Speaker 2: eight siblings. I'm blessed to know the Lord and that
[1:39] Speaker 2: he was safe too. Even then it hurts so much.
[1:46] Speaker 2: Yet I was listening to you after that, and you
[1:49] Speaker 2: spoke about what happens to the spirit of the saved
[1:54] Speaker 2: once they have passed on, and it comforted me know
[1:59] Speaker 2: that you touched the lives of so many for the Lord.
[2:03] Speaker 2: Thank you and God bless you. Michelle. Here's a testimony
[2:10] Speaker 2: about what I did. In reality, it is a testimony
[2:18] Speaker 2: to what you did. And I'm talking to the collective
[2:23] Speaker 2: you who stand with this ministry on an ongoing basis,
[2:28] Speaker 2: prayerfully and financially. As a result, people come to faith
[2:33] Speaker 2: in Christ. As a result, people come out of the
[2:37] Speaker 2: kingdom of the cults and world religions. As a direct result,
[2:44] Speaker 2: people are equipped to give an answer, a reason for
[2:48] Speaker 2: the hope that lies within them with gentleness and with respect.
[2:53] Speaker 2: As a result, Christians are equipped with discernment skills. As
[3:02] Speaker 2: a result, the Kingdom of God is extended. And I
[3:07] Speaker 2: want to remind all of you at the beginning of
[3:09] Speaker 2: the broadcast today that that is precisely why I ask
[3:14] Speaker 2: you to stand with this ministry. It's never easy. We
[3:19] Speaker 2: seem to always be stretching against the financial limits. The
[3:27] Speaker 2: expenses so often outrace the income, and so I remind
[3:35] Speaker 2: you that you are part of a team changing lives
[3:40] Speaker 2: for time and for eternity. Dare I say that were
[3:44] Speaker 2: this the only life, it would be worthwhile? But there
[3:48] Speaker 2: are many more. So once again I ask you to
[3:51] Speaker 2: join the support team. When you do, I would love
[3:56] Speaker 2: to send you a personalized copy of the Complete Bible

[4:49] Speaker 2: and financially. So make this a commitment today, whatever you

[4:56] Speaker 2: Some fifty some one hundred some more. Whatever you can do,
[5:00] Speaker 2: many people standing together do make a difference, not only
[5:04] Speaker 2: for time, but as we see in the testimony from Michelle,
[5:08] Speaker 2: for eternity. Want to go to our first phone caller
[5:12] Speaker 2: up today, Michael listening on the web in Fort Worth, Texas.
[5:15] Speaker 2: Him Michael.
[5:16] Speaker 3: I was talking to a friend of mine and we
[5:20] Speaker 3: got to talk about the two natures of Christ. And
[5:23] Speaker 3: he was telling me that Christ had a spiritual human
[5:27] Speaker 3: spirit and a divine spirit. So I guess my question
[5:30] Speaker 3: is does Christ have two spirits or just one?
[5:34] Speaker 2: Well, remember that Jesus Christ was one person with two natures,
[5:40] Speaker 2: fully man and fully God. What does it mean to
[5:43] Speaker 2: be fully man? When a woman gives birth, she gives
[5:47] Speaker 2: birth to a body soul unity. Jesus Christ was fully man.
[5:53] Speaker 2: We also recognize from Philippians that he was not divested
[5:58] Speaker 2: of a single attribute of deity. So in the incarnation,
[6:04] Speaker 2: while he took on the limitations of humanity, he was
[6:08] Speaker 2: fully and completely divine. How that is communicated, I think
[6:16] Speaker 2: is most safely put in the Creed of Chelcedon or
[6:21] Speaker 2: in some of the other biblical creeds, like the Creed
[6:24] Speaker 2: of Athanasius. This is important in that the church fathers
[6:30] Speaker 2: wanted to codify this in language that's consistent and also correct.
[6:37] Speaker 2: There is a mysterious aspect to it, and therefore the
[6:41] Speaker 2: language is important. We recognize even with the language we
[6:45] Speaker 2: don't fully comprehend it. But this is our apprehension of
[6:50] Speaker 2: God's condescension to himself in the pages of Holy writ.
[6:55] Speaker 3: Okay, so he would have one spirit be one person.
[6:58] Speaker 2: Right, he was fully God and fully man, one person
[7:04] Speaker 2: with two natures, fully God, fully man. That entails what
[7:10] Speaker 2: it is to be fully man, and it entails what
[7:15] Speaker 2: it is to be fully God. To try to distinguish
[7:20] Speaker 2: centers of consciousness, as though Christ may have had two
[7:23] Speaker 2: or three different centers of consciousness, makes no sense. I
[7:27] Speaker 2: think we need to be very careful with the language.
[7:30] Speaker 2: And therefore, once again I refer you to the creeds
[7:33] Speaker 2: that say one and the same Christ Son, Lord only
[7:41] Speaker 2: begotten to be acknowledged in two natures. The distinction of
[7:47] Speaker 2: nature's being by no means taken away by the union,
[7:52] Speaker 2: but rather the property of each nature being preserved and
[7:58] Speaker 2: concurring in one person, the one subsistence not parted or
[8:06] Speaker 2: divided into two persons, but one and the same son.
[8:11] Speaker 2: I don't know that I can say it any better
[8:13] Speaker 2: than that, And I think we're therefore, from a historic
[8:18] Speaker 2: Christian standpoint, we are well served to emulate the language
[8:24] Speaker 2: of the Creeds in communicating what it means that we
[8:28] Speaker 2: have one God who reveals himself in three persons who
[8:35] Speaker 2: are eternally distinct, and when we talk about the incarnation,
[8:38] Speaker 2: we talk about one person with two natures, fully god
[8:44] Speaker 2: fully manned.
[8:46] Speaker 3: Yeah, I would like saying to that scripture where he says, Father,
[8:49] Speaker 3: into your hands, I trust my spirit and he doesn't
[8:51] Speaker 3: say spirits plural, but spirit's angular.
[8:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
[8:56] Speaker 3: Okay, thanks man, to keep up the good work.
[8:58] Speaker 2: Hey, thank you, thank you so much for your call.
[9:00] Speaker 2: Let's go right back to the phone lines. Talk to Zeke.
[9:02] Speaker 2: He's listening in old Ridge, Nebraska.
[9:05] Speaker 4: Heiseake, Hello, thanks for taking my call, Hank, my pleasure.
[9:11] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[9:12] Speaker 4: I want to know In one John five sixteen, it says,
[9:16] Speaker 4: but there is a sin that leads to death. And
[9:18] Speaker 4: I'm not saying you should pray for those who commit it.
[9:22] Speaker 4: What is that sin? And why shouldn't we pray for
[9:24] Speaker 4: people that commit that sin?
[9:26] Speaker 2: Yeah? In context, I think what is going on is
[9:30] Speaker 2: you have a letter that is addressing Christians who are
[9:34] Speaker 2: plagued by a gnostic fallacy, and as a result of that,
[9:41] Speaker 2: John is addressing a problem in a context. And so
[9:45] Speaker 2: the sin that leads to death is always the same sin.
[9:51] Speaker 2: It is the sin of continually, willfully, in an ongoing,
[9:56] Speaker 2: premeditated fashion, denying that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh,
[10:02] Speaker 2: that Jesus Christ is in fact the incarnate, the in
[10:07] Speaker 2: flesh son of God. So if anyone sees his brother
[10:11] Speaker 2: commit a sin that does not lead to death, he
[10:14] Speaker 2: should pray and God will give him life. I refer
[10:18] Speaker 2: to those whose sin does not lead to death. There
[10:22] Speaker 2: is a sin that leads to death, and I'm not
[10:25] Speaker 2: saying that he should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin,
[10:28] Speaker 2: but there is a sin that does not lead to death.
[10:31] Speaker 2: The sin that does lead to death is an ongoing, continuous,
[10:36] Speaker 2: willful rejection of the grace and love of God. Now,
[10:42] Speaker 2: life in the context of this epistle is interesting as well.
[10:46] Speaker 2: It's typically eternal life. So sin and to death would
[10:50] Speaker 2: appear to be a sin leading from eternal life. And
[10:55] Speaker 2: the sin that leads from the eternal life is this conscious,
[10:59] Speaker 2: will full, ongoing rejection.
[11:03] Speaker 4: All right, thanks a lot. I appreciate your ministry and
[11:06] Speaker 4: your time.
[11:07] Speaker 2: You got it. Thank you so much for your encouragement

[13:52] Speaker 1: Once again, that's equip dot org breaking the code. If
[14:04] Speaker 1: the Book of Revelation has become an international obsession, the
[14:07] Speaker 1: result has been rampant misreading of scripture, bad theology, and
[14:11] Speaker 1: even bad politics and foreign policy. In the Apocalypse Code,
[14:15] Speaker 1: find out what the Bible really says about the end
[14:18] Speaker 1: times and why it matters today. Hank Canagraph argues that
[14:22] Speaker 1: the key to understanding the Last Book of the Bible
[14:25] Speaker 1: is the other sixty five books of the Bible, not
[14:27] Speaker 1: current events or recent history. The Apocalypse Code offers sane
[14:32] Speaker 1: answers to some very controversial questions, such as what does
[14:36] Speaker 1: it mean to take the Book of Revelation literally? Who
[14:38] Speaker 1: are the Antichrist and the Great Horror of Babylon? And
[14:42] Speaker 1: what is the real meaning of six hundred and sixty six?

[15:10] Speaker 2: There much your andy. You want to go to the
[15:11] Speaker 2: phone lines and talk to Carl next in Wisconsin. Hi, Carl,
[15:15] Speaker 2: Oh Hey, Hey, how's the carlin. I'm doing well. Thank you.
[15:18] Speaker 5: Hey.
[15:19] Speaker 2: I was listening to what you were saying about Benny Hankan.
[15:21] Speaker 5: The thought came to my head that I don't really
[15:23] Speaker 5: know the difference between apostate and a heretic. Do you
[15:27] Speaker 5: have a decent definition for that.
[15:29] Speaker 2: Well, it may, at the end of the day be
[15:31] Speaker 2: a distinction without a difference, But typically an apostate is
[15:34] Speaker 2: someone who was part of the faith and walked away
[15:38] Speaker 2: from the faith. A good example would be Judas. If
[15:41] Speaker 2: you would have been around at the time that Christ
[15:44] Speaker 2: walked the earth, you would have seen Judas, and you
[15:46] Speaker 2: would have said, I want to be like Judas. He's
[15:49] Speaker 2: in the ender circle of Christ. He's preaching the Gospel,
[15:52] Speaker 2: he's performing miracles. But Jesus Christ knew his heart and
[15:55] Speaker 2: knew that he was a devil, So that would be
[15:58] Speaker 2: I think a classic example of an apostate. A heretic
[16:02] Speaker 2: is someone within the body of Christ who is taking
[16:08] Speaker 2: essential Christian doctrine and compromising or outright contradicting the essentials
[16:15] Speaker 2: of the historic Christian faith, and therefore the word heretic applies. Well,
[16:21] Speaker 2: you got it. Thank you for your call. We'll go
[16:22] Speaker 2: back to the phone lines and now talked to Patty.
[16:25] Speaker 2: She's listening in Saint Louis, Missouri.
[16:26] Speaker 5: Hi, Patty, Hello, could you explain to me more about
[16:31] Speaker 5: Judgment Day in Revelations. After we've dedicated our lives to
[16:38] Speaker 5: the Lord and lived in Jesus is all forgiving. And
[16:43] Speaker 5: I thought, unless I misunderstanding, that once we've repented and
[16:49] Speaker 5: we live our life according to obey Jesus, and I
[16:54] Speaker 5: thought our sins were forgotten, and then like on Judgment Day,
[16:57] Speaker 5: we have to answer for our life and the choices
[17:02] Speaker 5: that we've made. I don't quite I'm missing something. I'm sure.
[17:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, what you do now counts for all eternity.
[17:10] Speaker 2: And Paul points this out in First Corinthians chapter three,
[17:13] Speaker 2: where he says no one can lay any foundation other
[17:17] Speaker 2: than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If
[17:21] Speaker 2: any man builds on this foundation using gold or silver,
[17:25] Speaker 2: or costly stones, or vicariously wood, hay or straw, his
[17:31] Speaker 2: work will be shown for what it is, because the
[17:33] Speaker 2: day will bring it to light. It will be revealed
[17:37] Speaker 2: with fire, and the fire will test the quality of
[17:41] Speaker 2: each man's work. If what he has built survives, he
[17:46] Speaker 2: will receive reward. If it has burned up, he will
[17:50] Speaker 2: suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as
[17:54] Speaker 2: one escaping through the flames. And this, I think conjures
[17:59] Speaker 2: up in everyone's mind the sober reality that some Christians
[18:04] Speaker 2: will be resurrected with precious little to show for the
[18:08] Speaker 2: time they spent on earth. And that's why Jesus Christ said,
[18:11] Speaker 2: do not labor for that which perishes, but labor for
[18:16] Speaker 2: that which is eternal. Or behold, I come quickly. My
[18:19] Speaker 2: reward is with me. I will give to everyone according
[18:23] Speaker 2: to what he's done. It's also why you have in
[18:26] Speaker 2: scripture the crowns that are mentioned. The crown of Glory,
[18:32] Speaker 2: for example, is mentioned, the crown of righteousness is mentioned,
[18:37] Speaker 2: the crown of life. These are all emblematic of rewards
[18:41] Speaker 2: which we, in essence to cash out the metaphor throw
[18:47] Speaker 2: at the feet of Jesus Christ in gratitude for what
[18:50] Speaker 2: he has done for us. But Christ, the righteous judge,
[18:54] Speaker 2: does judge us for what we have done. And just
[18:59] Speaker 2: like a court of law, there are degrees of reward.
[19:03] Speaker 2: So in a court of law, there are degrees of
[19:05] Speaker 2: punishment for those who are found guilty. God the righteous
[19:09] Speaker 2: judge does not judge a garden variety pagan on the
[19:13] Speaker 2: exact same level that he judges someone who has killed
[19:17] Speaker 2: six million people or thirteen million people. Again, he's the
[19:21] Speaker 2: righteous judge, and the Bible makes clear that there are
[19:25] Speaker 2: degrees of reward in heaven degrees of punishment in hell.
[19:29] Speaker 5: Okay, so if we live a righteous life from the
[19:32] Speaker 5: time that we're saved, a pure life, then what we
[19:36] Speaker 5: did before we were saved has already been forgotten.
[19:40] Speaker 2: Well, yes, all of our sins are forgiven. Jesus Christ
[19:46] Speaker 2: gives us his righteousness and that's the foundation. But we're
[19:51] Speaker 2: still judged for what we do. So what we do
[19:55] Speaker 2: now counts for all eternity. Matthew records Jesus Christ saying,
[19:59] Speaker 2: the son of Man is going to come in his
[20:01] Speaker 2: father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward
[20:04] Speaker 2: each person according to what he has done. The apostle
[20:09] Speaker 2: John says the dead great and small were standing before
[20:12] Speaker 2: the throne and books were opened. Another book was opened,
[20:16] Speaker 2: which was the Book of Life. The dead were judged
[20:18] Speaker 2: according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
[20:22] Speaker 2: So again there's ample evidence in the scripture that there
[20:26] Speaker 2: is a judgment for those who are the sheep, just
[20:30] Speaker 2: like there is a judgment for those who are the goats,
[20:33] Speaker 2: the sheep being emblematic of those who are saved. The
[20:36] Speaker 2: goats are those who are destined for perdition. I've written
[20:39] Speaker 2: about this in detail, by the way, in a book
[20:42] Speaker 2: called Resurrection, in a chapter of that book titled Rewards Direction.
[20:48] Speaker 5: All right, well, thank you very much, you got it.
[20:51] Speaker 2: Thank you so much for your call. Let's go back
[20:53] Speaker 2: to the phone lines. Talk next to Chip. Chip is
[20:56] Speaker 2: in Bloomington, Illinois, had.
[20:58] Speaker 6: Chip question, is about Peter's vision with the white sheet,
[21:04] Speaker 6: And it was spoken to him three times about the
[21:08] Speaker 6: foul and the file in the air and the other animals,
[21:11] Speaker 6: and he was a responsible that it was unclean to eat,
[21:14] Speaker 6: and he was hungry, and he said he told God
[21:17] Speaker 6: he had never put anything unclean in his body. And
[21:21] Speaker 6: he then later on it spoke about what the vision
[21:25] Speaker 6: meant and how he understood it. How did he how
[21:28] Speaker 6: did he decipher that to know to go speak to
[21:31] Speaker 6: the people that he testified that too.
[21:33] Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, first of all, Peter didn't understand the mystery
[21:36] Speaker 2: of the gospel that the two had become one and
[21:39] Speaker 2: the truest sense of the word until after he saw
[21:42] Speaker 2: the vision. The problem was that the Judaizers wanted people
[21:48] Speaker 2: to take on all the traits of Judaism, and unfortunately
[21:52] Speaker 2: there was this idea that you still had to adhere
[21:57] Speaker 2: to civilian ceremonial laws. Those laws and unfortunately for those
[22:01] Speaker 2: who didn't understand had been abrogated. They're no longer necessary.
[22:06] Speaker 2: And Christ had made this clear to his disciples. He said,
[22:10] Speaker 2: it's not what goes into a man's mouth and out
[22:13] Speaker 2: through his body that defiles him. It is that which
[22:17] Speaker 2: proceeds from the heart. And Peter saw this clearly as
[22:21] Speaker 2: a result of the vision he received in Japa, and
[22:25] Speaker 2: he said, I now realize how true it is that
[22:28] Speaker 2: God does not show favoritism, but accepts men from every
[22:33] Speaker 2: nation who fear Him and do what is right. You
[22:37] Speaker 2: know the message God sent to the people of Israel,
[22:39] Speaker 2: telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who
[22:42] Speaker 2: is Lord of all. With the emphasis on that last
[22:46] Speaker 2: word all. So just as race was of no consequence
[22:50] Speaker 2: in Christ, so too there were no other considerations. There's
[22:56] Speaker 2: no dividing wall. We are one in Christ.
[23:00] Speaker 6: Awesome. I thank you very much, God.
[23:02] Speaker 2: Bless you God, bless you. Thank you, Chick, appreciate your call.
[23:05] Speaker 2: I want to go back to the phone lines now,
[23:07] Speaker 2: talk to Mark. Mark is listening to no Maha, Nebraska. Hi.
[23:11] Speaker 7: Mark, Hey, what's going on?
[23:12] Speaker 6: Hank?
[23:13] Speaker 2: How you doing?
[23:14] Speaker 8: I'm doing all right pretty much. I just I just
[23:16] Speaker 8: kind of started back reading the Bible. I used to
[23:18] Speaker 8: read a little bit before, but uh, now kind of
[23:21] Speaker 8: more in tune to everything and what I wanted to know,
[23:24] Speaker 8: Like in like like in the First Genesis when it
[23:27] Speaker 8: talks about how God created the head beings and the
[23:31] Speaker 8: other was he is there like different levels of heaven
[23:36] Speaker 8: or or like what did he actually mean by the
[23:38] Speaker 8: head ins?
[23:40] Speaker 2: Well, No, it's a way of speaking about the heavens
[23:43] Speaker 2: and the earth, the entire It's it's actually a metaphor
[23:46] Speaker 2: in a sense, for the entire created universe. Although I
[23:50] Speaker 2: will say this, the Bible does talk about heaven in
[23:54] Speaker 2: different ways. It talks about heaven is the atmosphere which
[23:59] Speaker 2: surrounds the earth, and in that sense, Job points out
[24:03] Speaker 2: that the frost and the wind come from Heaven. There's
[24:07] Speaker 2: another way in which the Bible talks about heaven as
[24:10] Speaker 2: the celestial heavens and the heavens in that sense are
[24:15] Speaker 2: the realm of the sun, the moon, and the stars
[24:18] Speaker 2: which God placed in the heavens, as you point out
[24:21] Speaker 2: from Genision chapter one. And there's a third way that
[24:25] Speaker 2: the Bible talks about heaven, and that is in the
[24:29] Speaker 2: sense of the dwelling place of God. So when Jesus
[24:32] Speaker 2: taught us to pray our Father, who art in Heaven,
[24:35] Speaker 2: he was using heaven in that sense. But your question
[24:39] Speaker 2: points to something very significant, and that is words are
[24:44] Speaker 2: not unifical. They are equivocal. And what I mean by
[24:48] Speaker 2: that is words take on meanings depending on the context
[24:53] Speaker 2: in which the words are used. And therefore I can
[24:57] Speaker 2: use heaven in a Biblical sense in at least three
[25:00] Speaker 2: different ways.
[25:03] Speaker 7: Right, Okay, Yeah, because I was just I just had
[25:08] Speaker 7: that question on that because I was told that I
[25:11] Speaker 7: never got to get the cross reference as scripture where
[25:14] Speaker 7: it was actually at a Bible that someone went up
[25:17] Speaker 7: I can't remember who it was, if it was Peter
[25:19] Speaker 7: or whoever that went up to the to the like
[25:23] Speaker 7: the third level of Heaven or something like that.
[25:25] Speaker 2: Or the third Heaven. Yeah, that was the apostle Paul.
[25:29] Speaker 7: So they when they said that, what did that mean though,
[25:32] Speaker 7: Like if it was like he went up to the
[25:34] Speaker 7: Third Heaven with God.
[25:35] Speaker 2: Well, he doesn't really explain it. He says, I know
[25:38] Speaker 2: a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught
[25:41] Speaker 2: up in the Third Heaven. The presupposition is that he
[25:45] Speaker 2: is talking about himself, but in such a modest way. Today,
[25:49] Speaker 2: when people go to heaven or go to Hell, at
[25:52] Speaker 2: least in their fantasies, they write whole books about it
[25:55] Speaker 2: and start cottage industries on it. But Paul was being
[25:58] Speaker 2: very modest about it, and he was in a sense
[26:01] Speaker 2: talking about being in the presence of God in that
[26:04] Speaker 2: particular context.
[26:05] Speaker 7: Okay, all right, that pretty much answered it.
