[0:07] Speaker 1: From Charlotte, North Carolina. You're listening to the Bible answer
[0:11] Speaker 1: Man broadcast with Hank Hanagraph, president of the Christian Research Institute.
[0:16] Speaker 1: The reason the Bible answer Man is on the air
[0:18] Speaker 1: is to defend the Christian faith, proclaim the gospel of
[0:22] Speaker 1: our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to teach discipleship
[0:26] Speaker 1: to his followers, because life and truth matter. For more
[0:30] Speaker 1: information or to order equipping resources, call eight eight eight

[0:44] Speaker 1: That's equip dot org. The following program was pre recorded
[0:50] Speaker 1: and now here's your host, Hank Anagraph.
[0:53] Speaker 2: Thank very much, Randian. Before we go to our callers,
[0:56] Speaker 2: I want to draw attention to a booklet that I
[0:59] Speaker 2: have put together that I want to send to you
[1:03] Speaker 2: when you support the ministry of the Christian Research Institute.
[1:08] Speaker 2: Of all the billions of people who have lived on
[1:11] Speaker 2: this planet, only Jesus Christ could emerge through the doorway
[1:17] Speaker 2: of Biblical prophecy. And that's why I've titled this booklet
[1:21] Speaker 2: Jesus the Superstar of Biblical Prophecy. And I've given you
[1:26] Speaker 2: the prophecies in such a way that you can remember them.
[1:30] Speaker 2: All The detail is in the booklet, but you can
[1:34] Speaker 2: remember the prophecies because they're identified with the first seven
[1:40] Speaker 2: letters of the alphabet. His ancestry A was marked thousands
[1:48] Speaker 2: of years prior to his birth. His birthplace B, the
[1:54] Speaker 2: birthplace in Bethlehem, was likewise foretold. The circumstance and its
[2:00] Speaker 2: surrounding his death prophesied in minute detail before crucifixion was
[2:07] Speaker 2: ever invented. The d date a visitation predicted within a
[2:15] Speaker 2: historically narrow timeframe. I want to come back to that
[2:18] Speaker 2: in just a moment, an extraordinary miracle worker the E
[2:24] Speaker 2: who would f fulfill the law and the profits and
[2:28] Speaker 2: a light to the gentiles g so that salvation would
[2:34] Speaker 2: go out to the ends of the earth. The prophecies
[2:37] Speaker 2: concerning him are simply so precise that the probabilities is
[2:43] Speaker 2: someone fulfilling them by chance simply do not exist. As mentioned,
[2:50] Speaker 2: I want to focus for just a moment on this
[2:53] Speaker 2: date setting, because the Bible in fact does some date setting.
[3:01] Speaker 2: It sets the date of Christ coming onto the stage
[3:08] Speaker 2: of human history in relatively narrow date parameters. Today, however,
[3:18] Speaker 2: there are false date setters In fact, I would say
[3:23] Speaker 2: that date setting is the bane of modern day controversialists.
[3:28] Speaker 2: In reality, no one knows the time of Christ's return,
[3:32] Speaker 2: no one knows the end of the world. For tend
[3:36] Speaker 2: prophets continue to tell people what their itching ears want
[3:42] Speaker 2: to hear. But true prophets spoke as they were carried
[3:47] Speaker 2: along by the Holy Spirit. I think it's utterly ironic
[3:53] Speaker 2: that Camping cites Amos three p. Seven in vindication of
[3:56] Speaker 2: his claim. Amos could rightly say, the Lord God will
[4:01] Speaker 2: do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants
[4:08] Speaker 2: the prophets. Why because he was a true prophet of God,
[4:13] Speaker 2: and therefore he rightly told God's people what the future
[4:18] Speaker 2: held in store. Unlike date setters, who attempt through esoteric
[4:23] Speaker 2: numerology to calculate the exact date of the Rapture and
[4:28] Speaker 2: the precise date of Christ's first advent, the prophets provided
[4:34] Speaker 2: date parameters which, in concert with ancestry, birthplace, crucifixion prophecies
[4:40] Speaker 2: and the like, pinpoint Jesus as the prophesied Messiah, and
[4:47] Speaker 2: rather than casting aspersions on the scriptures, they demonstrate that
[4:51] Speaker 2: God has indeed inspired the sacred text in the span
[4:56] Speaker 2: of human history. The time frame set by such prophecies
[5:01] Speaker 2: is narrow. Indeed, Christ would not come prior to the
[5:06] Speaker 2: last oracles spoken by the prophet Malachi, nor could he
[5:11] Speaker 2: be born after the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.
[5:16] Speaker 2: His advent would not occur prior to the last prophecy
[5:20] Speaker 2: concerning his coming. He would be preceded by John, who
[5:24] Speaker 2: would come in the spirit and power of Elijah, and
[5:27] Speaker 2: it would come prior to the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple.
[5:31] Speaker 2: The prophet Hagei made this equally plain in prophesying the
[5:38] Speaker 2: coming of Christ would cause the glory of the Second
[5:42] Speaker 2: Temple to surpass the glories of the First. I've written
[5:46] Speaker 2: about this and so much more in the book that
[5:48] Speaker 2: Jesus the Superstar of Biblical Prophecy. It is available for
[5:51] Speaker 2: your gift to the ongoing ministry of the Christian Research Institute.
[5:57] Speaker 2: So please send your gift today to touch the lives
[6:01] Speaker 2: of more men, women and children, just as your life
[6:04] Speaker 2: has been touched. And again, don't forget to request your
[6:08] Speaker 2: copy of Jesus the Superstar of Biblical Prophecy. Check it
[6:13] Speaker 2: out on the webit equipped dot org. You can write
[6:16] Speaker 2: me at bucks eighty five hundred, Charlotte, North Carolina, zip
[6:21] Speaker 2: code two eight two seven one, or as always, pick
[6:25] Speaker 2: up the phone talk to Resource Consultants triple eight seven thousand, CURI.
[6:30] Speaker 2: Let's go to the phone lines. Talk to Connie in Palmdale, California. Hi, Connie, Hey, Hey,
[6:36] Speaker 2: how are you. I'm well? Thank you.
[6:38] Speaker 3: Oh. You know, I've listened to you guys for probably
[6:41] Speaker 3: twenty five almost thirty years, and you're the only person
[6:48] Speaker 3: I could think to call because I know you tell
[6:52] Speaker 3: the absolute truth and I am having a real hard
[6:55] Speaker 3: time finding a true Bible teaching, scripture, believing, honest church.
[7:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, well what do I do? Yeah? And Connie, here's
[7:07] Speaker 2: the deal. You need to know what you're looking for.
[7:10] Speaker 2: He who aims at nothing invariably hits it. In other words,
[7:16] Speaker 2: the idea is not to shoot the arrow at the
[7:18] Speaker 2: wall and draw the bullseye around where it lands. It
[7:21] Speaker 2: is to determine where the bullseye is to begin with.
[7:25] Speaker 2: And I think in this case, what you want to
[7:27] Speaker 2: do is look for a church that is committed to
[7:32] Speaker 2: the true worship of God through prayer, praise, and the
[7:36] Speaker 2: proclamation of the Word. You want to look for a
[7:39] Speaker 2: church that genuinely exemplifies the oneness of believers, as delineated
[7:48] Speaker 2: by the apostle Paul in Romans chapter twelve. And then thirdly,
[7:53] Speaker 2: you want a church that's equipping you so that you
[7:56] Speaker 2: can be a witness to the world. So I think
[8:00] Speaker 2: those are the three basic ingredients that you want to
[8:03] Speaker 2: look for. Now. Churches do this differently. There are churches
[8:09] Speaker 2: that have one kind of ecclesiology and churches that have another.
[8:14] Speaker 2: And what I mean by that is there are some
[8:16] Speaker 2: churches that don't have a pastor Lanite dichotomy. In other words,
[8:21] Speaker 2: when the people get together, everybody's involved in prayer, praise,
[8:27] Speaker 2: and the proclamation of the Word. So they prepare during
[8:30] Speaker 2: the week, and then they prophesy what they have prepared,
[8:34] Speaker 2: not in the sense of foretelling the future, but rather
[8:38] Speaker 2: in the sense of forth telling the word that the
[8:41] Speaker 2: Spirit has given to them to edify the body. There
[8:45] Speaker 2: are some churches who have a pastor who prepares during
[8:51] Speaker 2: the week to teach the Body of Christ. But the
[8:54] Speaker 2: real issue here becomes, we want to worship God in
[9:00] Speaker 2: spirit and in truth, through prayer and through praise and
[9:04] Speaker 2: through the proclamation of the Word, so that what is
[9:07] Speaker 2: communicated corresponds to the reality that God has encapsulated in
[9:13] Speaker 2: his word. So again, you want to look for a
[9:16] Speaker 2: church that genuinely worships, that genuinely exemplifies oneness, and that
[9:21] Speaker 2: equips the body for witness. You can remember that by wow, worship,
[9:28] Speaker 2: oneness and witness. That's really what you're aiming at.
[9:32] Speaker 3: This is what I'm running into. It seems, you know,
[9:36] Speaker 3: on the surface. Then you start hearing the undertow that
[9:41] Speaker 3: isn't really biblic Oh, the scripture is being misquoted, is
[9:44] Speaker 3: being taken out of context. You know, I've literally walked
[9:49] Speaker 3: out of more churches than most people have walked into.
[9:53] Speaker 3: And you know there are maybe I'm too nitpicky.
[9:56] Speaker 2: I don't know, and maybe you aren't actually.
[10:00] Speaker 3: With the Holy Spirit. And I've never spoken in tongues.
[10:02] Speaker 2: Yeah, but here's a good point. That's a classic case
[10:05] Speaker 2: in point. That's an issue that you can debate vigorously,
[10:11] Speaker 2: but it's not an issue over which you have to
[10:13] Speaker 2: leave a church, which is to say that it's a
[10:17] Speaker 2: secondary issue. The essentials are the main in the plain things.
[10:22] Speaker 2: Trust me, I can't remember a church service in many
[10:28] Speaker 2: years where I haven't had some small point of disagreement
[10:34] Speaker 2: after the pastor has spoken or after people have prophesied.
[10:38] Speaker 2: But that isn't a point of division because it's a
[10:43] Speaker 2: secondary issue. Where we have to stand shoulder to shoulder
[10:48] Speaker 2: is on essential Christian doctrines. Those are the doctrines for
[10:52] Speaker 2: which the martyrs shed their blood. So an essential unity,
[10:56] Speaker 2: non essentials, liberty and all things charity. That been very helpful,
[11:02] Speaker 2: very much, so well, Conny, appreciate you so much, and.
[11:06] Speaker 3: God bless you lads. You're still in the air.

[12:31] Speaker 1: Bible's Divine inspiration, Hank counters the contentions of the Bible
[12:35] Speaker 1: attackers and clearly shows that belief in the Holy Scriptures
[12:38] Speaker 1: is not a guess or wishful thinking. It is the

[13:02] Speaker 1: won the Battle of Stalingrad. It appeared at first the
[13:05] Speaker 1: Nazi war machine would secure the victory, but the Soviets
[13:08] Speaker 1: battled back from near certain defeat with extraordinary courage and
[13:13] Speaker 1: resoluteness to turn the tide of the battle and ultimately
[13:16] Speaker 1: the war. The lesson is that both men and material
[13:20] Speaker 1: people and provisions played a critical role. Willingness to fight
[13:25] Speaker 1: and munitions in the Arsenal were pivotal our contemporary battle
[13:29] Speaker 1: for truth against anti Christian secularists raises the stakes above

[15:10] Speaker 2: Very much, Randy, and let's go to Charlie next listening
[15:13] Speaker 2: on Alabama. Hi, Charlie, Hey, hey.
[15:16] Speaker 4: I've been holding for a good bet. I listen to
[15:19] Speaker 4: your program a great deal and now I am fine.
[15:24] Speaker 4: And what I want to ask in Matthew's Gospel in
[15:28] Speaker 4: the seventh chapter that Jesus makes this statement, Uh, do
[15:34] Speaker 4: not throw your throw the dogs? What is sacred? And
[15:38] Speaker 4: do not cast your pearls among swine? What does that mean?
[15:44] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a really good question, Charlie. And one of
[15:48] Speaker 2: the things you may want to refer to is what
[15:51] Speaker 2: happened in Acts chapter eighteen when Silas and Timothy come
[15:57] Speaker 2: from Macedonia and Paul devotes himself exclusively to preaching and
[16:05] Speaker 2: testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. But
[16:10] Speaker 2: when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook
[16:15] Speaker 2: out his clothes in protest, and he said to them,
[16:19] Speaker 2: your blood be on your own heads. I am clear
[16:23] Speaker 2: of my responsibility. From now on I will go to
[16:27] Speaker 2: the gentiles. So, in essence, this is an example of
[16:33] Speaker 2: what is meant when Jesus says, do not give dogs
[16:35] Speaker 2: what is sacred. Do not throw your pearls to pigs.
[16:39] Speaker 2: If you do, they may trample them under their feet
[16:42] Speaker 2: and then turn and tear you to pieces. Now, unclean
[16:47] Speaker 2: animals pigs ate vile food. Dogs were scavengers. They would
[16:54] Speaker 2: bite the hand that feeds them. And therefore this was
[16:57] Speaker 2: a metaphor unicating that you can't talk anyone into the kingdom.
[17:04] Speaker 2: Thus you should preach to those whose hearts are prepared
[17:09] Speaker 2: by the spirit of God. And what I mean by
[17:12] Speaker 2: that is you can't harvest green fruit. You can only
[17:15] Speaker 2: harvest what God prepares. That's why I always say I
[17:18] Speaker 2: don't do what I do by might or power, but
[17:21] Speaker 2: by God's spirit, because I can't do anything. Only the
[17:24] Speaker 2: Holy Spirit can change your heart. So I can harvest
[17:28] Speaker 2: what God prepares, but I can't do more than that.
[17:32] Speaker 4: All right, I say, in essence, what Jesus is saying
[17:37] Speaker 4: is if you tell the someone and they don't buy
[17:42] Speaker 4: into the gospel and everything Black Paul and them does.
[17:47] Speaker 4: It's just in other words, just shake it off and
[17:50] Speaker 4: just go home or just leave it to the Holy Spirit.
[17:53] Speaker 2: Then yeah, absolutely, Charlie. And one thing you have just
[17:57] Speaker 2: demonstrated is though you're physical eyes can't see, your spiritual
[18:03] Speaker 2: eyes certainly can see. So you're definitely cited from a
[18:06] Speaker 2: spiritual perspective.
[18:07] Speaker 4: All right. That gives me a lot of encouragement. Just
[18:11] Speaker 4: what you said right than the last of it. And
[18:15] Speaker 4: I want to say, God bless you and I hope
[18:19] Speaker 4: you have a golden, golden afternoon.
[18:22] Speaker 2: Thank you, Charlie, you as well appreciate talking to you.
[18:25] Speaker 2: It's a delight. Want to go back to the phone
[18:27] Speaker 2: lines now and talk to friends. Scene listening in Atlanta, Georgia. Hi,
[18:32] Speaker 2: friand Scene.
[18:33] Speaker 5: Hey Hank, thanks for taking my call.
[18:35] Speaker 2: You got it.
[18:36] Speaker 5: You know, I've been a Christian for a lot of
[18:38] Speaker 5: years and when I sin, at the end of the day,
[18:42] Speaker 5: when I pray, I profess my sins. Recently I heard
[18:48] Speaker 5: someone in a study say that once you're forgiven, you
[18:53] Speaker 5: are forgiven for all time and you do not have
[18:56] Speaker 5: to confess your sin ever to God again. I have
[19:01] Speaker 5: not found a verse that supports that, and I was
[19:05] Speaker 5: hoping if there is such a verse, you could provide
[19:07] Speaker 5: that for me. But I don't line up with that thinking.
[19:11] Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad you don't, because it's stinking thinking. I mean,
[19:14] Speaker 2: it's sort of like me saying to my wife, I
[19:17] Speaker 2: told you I loved you when I married you. Don't
[19:20] Speaker 2: ask me to say it again, or you know what
[19:24] Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you one time, honey, and that
[19:27] Speaker 2: is I'm sorry for anything I might do wrong throughout
[19:32] Speaker 2: the duration of the decades of our marriage. But don't
[19:35] Speaker 2: ever ask me to say it again. I mean, obviously
[19:38] Speaker 2: that wouldn't fly very well. And I think from a
[19:41] Speaker 2: spiritual perspective, the same thing is true. We want to
[19:44] Speaker 2: keep short accounts with our Lord, and the Bible is
[19:47] Speaker 2: very clear. And first John, if we claim to be
[19:51] Speaker 2: without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not
[19:54] Speaker 2: in us. And then says John, but if we confess
[19:59] Speaker 2: our sins, he's faithful and just and will forgive us
[20:04] Speaker 2: our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. And if
[20:09] Speaker 2: we claim we have not sinned, we make about to
[20:12] Speaker 2: be a liar. And his word has no place in
[20:16] Speaker 2: our lives. Now, the point here is, yes, it is
[20:20] Speaker 2: true that we are covered with the righteousness of Jesus Christ,
[20:23] Speaker 2: but we are yet sinners, and therefore we have to
[20:26] Speaker 2: actively daily confess our sins. Jesus taught us that very thing,
[20:32] Speaker 2: forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
[20:38] Speaker 2: Now I know what the rejoinder is. It is by
[20:41] Speaker 2: people who teach the false teaching in this regard. They say, well,
[20:45] Speaker 2: you know, that's old covenant stuff that's gone away. So
[20:49] Speaker 2: when Jesus taught his disciples to pray the Lord's prayer,
[20:52] Speaker 2: that's the old covenant stuff. It no longer applies to
[20:55] Speaker 2: us today. And that is an insidious lie. Not only that,
[21:00] Speaker 2: but James five sixteen says, therefore, confess your sins and confess.
[21:06] Speaker 2: There is a present active subjunctive, which means it's a
[21:12] Speaker 2: grammatical construction which denotes continuing action, such as keep on confessing.
[21:22] Speaker 2: So you have an epistle that I start out with
[21:24] Speaker 2: that's specifically written to believers, and in essence is communicating
[21:31] Speaker 2: that while our sins cannot damage our relationship with God,
[21:35] Speaker 2: they can certainly destroy our fellowship with God. Or put
[21:39] Speaker 2: another way, our sin does not break our union with God,
[21:43] Speaker 2: but our sins certainly can break our communion with God.
[21:48] Speaker 5: You know, you talked about the sin zone, where you
[21:51] Speaker 5: take a verse and you take it out of context,
[21:53] Speaker 5: and that's exactly what was done when I sat in
[21:56] Speaker 5: on this study. And the primis there was, well, once
[22:01] Speaker 5: you're saved, and you do contest your sin, and that
[22:04] Speaker 5: all those verses that you mentioned, even down to the
[22:06] Speaker 5: Lord's Prayer, was a command to you, if you will,
[22:10] Speaker 5: to come clean before the Lord once and for all
[22:13] Speaker 5: and give your life to Christ, not that it's a
[22:16] Speaker 5: continuous daily exercise. And I feel that those verses dealing
[22:22] Speaker 5: with confessing sin in the Bible in this case were
[22:26] Speaker 5: used to support this concept that this person is trying
[22:30] Speaker 5: to get awful on everyone. And it's like I said,
[22:33] Speaker 5: I don't.
[22:33] Speaker 2: Line up with that, so well, I'm glad you don't.
[22:35] Speaker 2: And this is where you have to test all things
[22:37] Speaker 2: and like a scripture and hold fast to that which
[22:39] Speaker 2: is good. When Jesus said to his disciples, this then
[22:42] Speaker 2: is how you should pray. I think the idea that
[22:45] Speaker 2: you would have in clear common sense is that Jesus
[22:49] Speaker 2: is giving his disciples a pattern, a template for praying.
[22:55] Speaker 2: So every phrase is meaningful, and sometimes the meaning of
[23:00] Speaker 2: the phrase isn't self evident at first blush. But if
[23:03] Speaker 2: you look at it closely, and I wrote a book
[23:05] Speaker 2: about this, The Prayer of Jesus, you look at it closely,
[23:08] Speaker 2: every single precept of that prayer is powerful, it's poignant,
[23:14] Speaker 2: it has deep and abiding meaning. And you just can't say, well,
[23:18] Speaker 2: that's old Covenant doesn't apply to us today, as though
[23:20] Speaker 2: you can rip that out of your Bible, because that
[23:22] Speaker 2: applied to another epic of time has no meaning today.
[23:26] Speaker 2: In fact, what we should do is recognize that certainly
[23:30] Speaker 2: there are types and shadows in the Old Testament that
[23:32] Speaker 2: are abrogated in the New Testament, but this is not
[23:37] Speaker 2: one of them, and there's no indication that it could be.
[23:39] Speaker 2: First of all, it's not Old Testament, it's New Testament.
[23:42] Speaker 2: It's not Old Covenant, it's New Covenant. And there's not
[23:45] Speaker 2: a qualitative difference between the Old and the New Covenant,
[23:49] Speaker 2: except for the fact that the blood of Jesus Christ
[23:54] Speaker 2: is better than the blood of bulls and goats, and
[23:58] Speaker 2: therefore there's no need to offer bulls and goats when
[24:02] Speaker 2: the ultimate sacrificial Lamb has come, So temple, priest and
[24:06] Speaker 2: sacrifice are abrogated because the Ultimate Sacrificial Lamb has come.
[24:09] Speaker 2: But that does not mean that the teachings of the
[24:12] Speaker 2: Ultimate Sacrificial Lamb are old covenant and need to be
[24:15] Speaker 2: abrogated as well.
[24:19] Speaker 5: Well, thank you so much, and God bless you and
[24:22] Speaker 5: your ministry. And I joy listening to you every day
[24:25] Speaker 5: at this time while I'm driving home from work.
[24:28] Speaker 2: Well, thank you for insing.
[24:30] Speaker 1: Have a good day you too.
[24:32] Speaker 2: Back to the phone lines, we'll talk next to Maria.
[24:35] Speaker 2: She's listening in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
[24:37] Speaker 6: Hi, Maria, Hey, Henk cal you. We love your ministry.
[24:41] Speaker 6: My husband and I I have a question which has
[24:46] Speaker 6: to deal with free masonry in the church, especially in leadership.
[24:50] Speaker 6: I go to a Southern Baptist church and what kind
[24:53] Speaker 6: of devastated that we've found out some of this information
[24:56] Speaker 6: and upon going to speak to the leader about it,
[24:59] Speaker 6: we would that he does not have an issue with them.
[25:03] Speaker 6: What can we do because we don't want to sit
[25:05] Speaker 6: under that Number one and two? Are there any truth
[25:08] Speaker 6: teaching churches that you can recommend to us in the
[25:12] Speaker 6: Fort Mill wack Hill, Charlotte area.
[25:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll be able to recommend a number of good
[25:16] Speaker 2: churches to you. You're never going to find a perfect church.
[25:19] Speaker 6: But what you want to say now we know that,
[25:21] Speaker 6: we just do not want to do with the deception
[25:23] Speaker 6: of that in the leadership.
[25:25] Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think that's an appropriate response on your part.
[25:29] Speaker 2: Freemasonry is not compatible with Christianity. One is a no.
[25:35] Speaker 3: It is.
[25:35] Speaker 6: I've gone to your website, I've read it. I've done
[25:37] Speaker 6: a lot of research in the last few days online
[25:41] Speaker 6: and as just appalled.
[25:43] Speaker 2: Yeah. So I think with gentleness and with respect, you
[25:46] Speaker 2: need to let the leadership know that, know why you're leaving,
[25:50] Speaker 2: and then find a healthy, well balanced church. And if
[25:52] Speaker 2: you hang on, we'll be happy to help you in
[25:54] Speaker 2: that regard.
[25:55] Speaker 6: That will be awesome.
[25:56] Speaker 1: Thank you so much, you got it.
[25:58] Speaker 2: Thank you so much for your poll, Maria. Thank you
