[0:15] Speaker 1: the program is Hank Canagraph, president of the Christian Research Institute.

[0:29] Speaker 1: eight eight seven thousand CRI, or go online to equip

[0:39] Speaker 1: pre recorded to start today's Bible answer Man Broadcast. Here's
[0:44] Speaker 1: your host, Hank Canagraph.
[0:46] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy, and let's go right to
[0:48] Speaker 2: our phone callers. First stump is Sergio, listening on the
[0:51] Speaker 2: web in Rochester, New York.
[0:53] Speaker 3: Hi Sergio, Hi Hank, how are you, my brother?
[0:56] Speaker 2: I'm doing well, Thank you.
[0:58] Speaker 3: Good good. I appreciate you taking my call pleasure. And
[1:02] Speaker 3: as a real quick side note, I remember watching you know,
[1:05] Speaker 3: like Walter Martin back in the eighties on the John
[1:08] Speaker 3: n Acobricks Show, and I'm so thankful that the Lord
[1:10] Speaker 3: has placed his ministry into your hands.
[1:13] Speaker 2: Well, thank you, my brother.
[1:14] Speaker 3: My question is is the Kingdom of Heaven and the
[1:18] Speaker 3: Kingdom of God the same thing?
[1:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, they are the same thing. In fact, it's interesting
[1:23] Speaker 2: if you go to Matthew nineteen, the Kingdom of God
[1:28] Speaker 2: and the Kingdom of Heaven are actually used interchangeably. I
[1:32] Speaker 2: tell you the truth. It is hard for a rich
[1:35] Speaker 2: man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. It is easier
[1:39] Speaker 2: for a campbell to go through the eye of a
[1:41] Speaker 2: needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom
[1:44] Speaker 2: of God. So in one passage you have the two
[1:48] Speaker 2: phrases used interchangeably.
[1:51] Speaker 3: Okay. I mean I've been looking up like different takes
[1:54] Speaker 3: on that from different biblical scholars and so forth, and like,
[1:57] Speaker 3: for example, Phinnis Jennings Dake. You know, he espouses that
[2:02] Speaker 3: that they were different. In other words, the Kingdom of
[2:04] Speaker 3: Having was more of a political in its sphere versus
[2:09] Speaker 3: the Kingdom of God, which was more a moral in
[2:12] Speaker 3: spiritual in its sphere.
[2:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's dead wrong, but he's dead wrong about a
[2:17] Speaker 2: lot of other things as well. The annotated Bible that
[2:20] Speaker 2: he produced has some tremendous, very serious errors in it.
[2:26] Speaker 3: Okay. So when Paul says in Romans in chapter fourteen,
[2:30] Speaker 3: verse seventeen, and I know, obviously you know you got
[2:33] Speaker 3: to read everything in context, but I'm just giving you
[2:35] Speaker 3: the one verse here he says for the Kingdom of
[2:37] Speaker 3: God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace
[2:42] Speaker 3: and joy in the Holy Spirit. But yeah, like when
[2:45] Speaker 3: you you know, look at what Jesus said, like to
[2:47] Speaker 3: Pilot that his kingdom was not of this world, and
[2:53] Speaker 3: I don't know, it made it sound more of a
[2:55] Speaker 3: political type of governmental type of statement that he could
[2:59] Speaker 3: you know, some in the angels and so forth, and
[3:03] Speaker 3: you know, basically it would you know, they would stop
[3:05] Speaker 3: the Jews from crucifying him. So I guess I'm still
[3:09] Speaker 3: a little little confused along those lines.
[3:11] Speaker 2: Well, the two phrases are just synonymous and meaning, and
[3:15] Speaker 2: certainly in the examples that you gave, look, Jews avoided
[3:19] Speaker 2: the use of the name of God, and Matthew was
[3:22] Speaker 2: writing primarily to a Jewish audience, and his preference therefore
[3:27] Speaker 2: was the Kingdom of Heaven, although he does use the
[3:31] Speaker 2: Kingdom of God four times. But the phrases are used interchangeably,
[3:37] Speaker 2: I mean, however they are used. They are used interchangeably.
[3:44] Speaker 2: In other words, you can exchange one phrase for the
[3:47] Speaker 2: other because there is not a distinction of meaning. Now
[3:50] Speaker 2: I understand that this is a dispensational distinction. The Kingdom
[3:56] Speaker 2: of Heaven or the Kingdom of Christ was offered to
[3:59] Speaker 2: the Jews but rejected, and thus it is said it
[4:04] Speaker 2: will be postponed to the Millennial Kingdom during the time
[4:08] Speaker 2: that Christ will rule from Jerusalem, and the Kingdom of
[4:11] Speaker 2: God is seen by dispensationalists as being inclusive of both
[4:15] Speaker 2: jew and Gentile. I mean, that's a typical distinction that's made,
[4:18] Speaker 2: and that's certainly the distinction that Dake makes. But as
[4:22] Speaker 2: I said, his annotated Reference Bible is perhaps the worst
[4:25] Speaker 2: collection of false teachings I've encountered to date. He has
[4:30] Speaker 2: God going from place to place in a body like
[4:33] Speaker 2: all other persons, is just an ordinary sized being. He
[4:37] Speaker 2: wears clothes, he eats, he rests, he dwells in a
[4:40] Speaker 2: mansion in a city located on a material planet called heaven.
[4:43] Speaker 2: In the life, these are the kinds of teachings that
[4:46] Speaker 2: you will find there. And the distinction that he makes
[4:49] Speaker 2: from a dispensational perspective, from my vantage point, is just
[4:53] Speaker 2: as laborious or stretched.
[4:57] Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay, very good. One of the quick questions, Okay,
[5:03] Speaker 3: there's a contemporary I'm sure you've heard of a guy
[5:05] Speaker 3: by the name of Miles Monroe, and his big thing
[5:08] Speaker 3: is teaching on the kingdom and rediscovering the Kingdom. So
[5:13] Speaker 3: I've been kind of comparing him and some others and
[5:15] Speaker 3: so forth on this particular topic. And one of the
[5:17] Speaker 3: things that he talks about in Matthew six thirty three,
[5:21] Speaker 3: where Jesus says, you know, but seek first the Kingdom
[5:25] Speaker 3: of God and his righteousness, and all these other things
[5:29] Speaker 3: will be added unto you. Now. Now, my understanding is
[5:32] Speaker 3: the Greek word for righteousness is pronounced something along the
[5:35] Speaker 3: lines of dika yo sune, which my understanding means holy
[5:42] Speaker 3: or just or equitable in character or act. Now, but
[5:47] Speaker 3: he defines it there as being rightly positioned with an
[5:53] Speaker 3: authority of government.
[5:55] Speaker 2: Well, he's obviously reading something into the passage that the
[5:58] Speaker 2: passage isn't intended to communicate.
[6:01] Speaker 3: Okay, so there's nothing with respect to being rightly positioned
[6:06] Speaker 3: with an authority of government.
[6:07] Speaker 2: No, he's reading something in the passage that the passage
[6:10] Speaker 2: isn't intended to communicate. And this is a very common
[6:14] Speaker 2: problem with Miles Monroe. He's a guy that is a
[6:18] Speaker 2: false teacher. Quite frankly, I don't know how else to
[6:21] Speaker 2: put it. He minces no words with respect to the
[6:24] Speaker 2: nature of God. He says that we have the same
[6:28] Speaker 2: nature as God himself. And of course he's a typical
[6:32] Speaker 2: word of faith guy who says, you create your own
[6:34] Speaker 2: world the same way God creates his. He speaks and
[6:37] Speaker 2: things happen. You speak and they happen. So he's constantly
[6:41] Speaker 2: reading unintended meanings into the text. That's what's called isid
[6:45] Speaker 2: Jesus as I'm sure you know, it's reading something in
[6:47] Speaker 2: the text and the text isn't designed to communicate, as
[6:51] Speaker 2: opposed to exe Jesus pulling out of the text what
[6:55] Speaker 2: God has planted in the text.
[6:58] Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I know he talks about from a standpoint
[7:01] Speaker 3: of you know, because we're creating in God's image that
[7:06] Speaker 3: you know, obviously we're different. We're different from you know,
[7:09] Speaker 3: animals and insects and so forth. And because we've we've
[7:13] Speaker 3: been imbued with you know, being created in God's image,
[7:16] Speaker 3: so that you know, then they take they run with that.
[7:18] Speaker 3: You know. Well, thank you so much. I appreciate it, Hank.
[7:21] Speaker 3: Once again, God bless you and God bless your ministry.
[7:23] Speaker 2: Thank you, sir. Joe back to the phone lines. Want
[7:26] Speaker 2: to talk to Dana. Next is in Canoga Park, California.
[7:30] Speaker 4: Hi, Dana, Hey, Hey, how are you doing good? I
[7:33] Speaker 4: ordered your book Apocalypse Code. Just waiting to get that
[7:37] Speaker 4: in the mail. So I'm anxiously waiting to read that
[7:40] Speaker 4: book I was reading. In Luke, chapter six, verse twenty four,
[7:47] Speaker 4: Jesus says, but woe to you who are rich, for
[7:51] Speaker 4: you have already received your comfort. Now, I don't know.
[7:55] Speaker 4: That seems to be a contradiction. I mean, no, you know,
[7:58] Speaker 4: the Bible doesn't condemn being rich. I mean, like Job
[8:03] Speaker 4: was rich, and what King Solomon was rich and one
[8:09] Speaker 4: of the richest men in the world, I think, and
[8:12] Speaker 4: they're not. You know, the Bible doesn't condemn being rich,
[8:16] Speaker 4: So why would Jesus say, but woe to you who
[8:19] Speaker 4: are rich? In verse twenty four.
[8:22] Speaker 2: There well, context, context, context, There's a context here, and
[8:26] Speaker 2: the context is a distinction between those who now weep
[8:31] Speaker 2: but will laugh in eternity at those who are rich
[8:35] Speaker 2: now but will weep in eternity, which is to say,
[8:39] Speaker 2: you're absolutely correct. The Bible teaches a form of Christian capitalism,
[8:44] Speaker 2: which is to say, responsibility associated with wealth. But the
[8:50] Speaker 2: point that Jesus Christ is making here is that if
[8:53] Speaker 2: you live a long, robust life and you have lots
[8:57] Speaker 2: of money, but you do not have a perspective on eternity.
[9:03] Speaker 2: Then you may laugh now, but in the end you
[9:07] Speaker 2: will weep. So he's trying to take our attention or
[9:12] Speaker 2: focus off of mean earthly vanities and place them on
[9:16] Speaker 2: eternal verities. But you're absolutely right. The biblical teaching on
[9:21] Speaker 2: wealth overall is not how much you have, but what
[9:25] Speaker 2: you do with what you have. And that's why Christ
[9:28] Speaker 2: makes a very emphatic point. It is the point that
[9:32] Speaker 2: it's difficult for a rich man to enter the Kingdom
[9:35] Speaker 2: of heaven because if you have riches, it's very hard
[9:42] Speaker 2: to lean upon the arm of God and not lean
[9:45] Speaker 2: upon the arm of flesh. It's not impossible, but it's difficult,
[9:50] Speaker 2: and so Jesus Christ is constantly warning us, as does
[9:55] Speaker 2: the panoply of scripture, about the deceitfulness that can go
[10:00] Speaker 2: with riches. But no, there's nothing inherently wrong with having money.
[10:04] Speaker 2: It's all a matter of what you do with what
[10:05] Speaker 2: you have.
[10:06] Speaker 4: Yeah, but see that the scripture, doesn't you know, you're
[10:11] Speaker 4: kind of putting a lot into the scripture that I mean, like,
[10:14] Speaker 4: you know, what you're saying I believe, you know, is
[10:17] Speaker 4: Bible theology, but that's not in the scripture.
[10:20] Speaker 2: Sure it's in the scripture. I mean, look, there is
[10:22] Speaker 2: a sense in which you make theological deductions. That's called
[10:26] Speaker 2: scriptural synergy, which is to say you read scripture in
[10:30] Speaker 2: light of scripture. But this is certainly a consistent teaching
[10:34] Speaker 2: in the whole of scripture. In fact, I lay this
[10:36] Speaker 2: out in really clear prose in my book Christianity Crisis
[10:40] Speaker 2: twenty first Century, The Biblical View of Wealth and the
[10:43] Speaker 2: Biblical View of Want. It's clearly laid out, and the
[10:47] Speaker 2: book is available through the ministry of the Christian Research Institute.

[11:01] Speaker 1: Pastor Martin Nimoler spent the last seven years of Nazi
[11:04] Speaker 1: rule in concentration camps. Reflecting on the camps where millions
[11:08] Speaker 1: would die, Nimoler said, first they came for the socialists,
[11:12] Speaker 1: and I did not speak out because I was not
[11:15] Speaker 1: a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionist and
[11:18] Speaker 1: I did not speak out because I was not a
[11:21] Speaker 1: trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I
[11:24] Speaker 1: did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
[11:27] Speaker 1: Then they came for me, and there was no one
[11:30] Speaker 1: left to speak for me. To ensure that your voice

[12:17] Speaker 5: Part two explains why truth is necessary but hardly sufficient.
[12:22] Speaker 5: That the map is not the territory, the menu is
[12:24] Speaker 5: not the meal. We are created to experience life to
[12:28] Speaker 5: the full through union with God in Christ. Is there
[12:31] Speaker 5: more to the Christian life than what you are experiencing?

[14:00] Speaker 1: The number of wolves surrounding the Christian flock is growing,
[14:04] Speaker 1: and they relish nothing more than docile's sheep, utterly incapable
[14:08] Speaker 1: of defending themselves from militant secularists at home to militant
[14:12] Speaker 1: Islamists abroad. The assaults on Biblical Christianity are growing dangerously,
[14:18] Speaker 1: but Christian Research Institutes Support Team members aren't in favor
[14:22] Speaker 1: of feeding these wolves. Instead, each day they're making possible
[14:26] Speaker 1: an array of outreaches that defang these wolfpacks with solid

[15:08] Speaker 1: Here is Hank catagraph.
[15:10] Speaker 2: Thank you're Indian. We returned to our callers. Next up
[15:13] Speaker 2: is Keith listening on Casper Wyoming High.
[15:15] Speaker 6: Keith, Hey, Hank, thanks for taking my call. I really
[15:19] Speaker 6: appreciate you being able to understand that in a way
[15:24] Speaker 6: explain that in a way we can understand it with
[15:26] Speaker 6: no theological training.
[15:27] Speaker 2: Well, thank you.
[15:29] Speaker 6: My question, why we're not seeing the miracles like we're
[15:33] Speaker 6: performed in the Old and New Testament today? Why we're
[15:36] Speaker 6: not seeing those miracles today?
[15:38] Speaker 2: Remember, Jesus Christ did miracles. The apostles and the prophets
[15:42] Speaker 2: did miracles, but through that they established themselves as legitimate
[15:48] Speaker 2: apostles and prophets. And of course Jesus, by his resurrection
[15:52] Speaker 2: demonstrated that he was God in human flesh. So we
[15:56] Speaker 2: already have the testimony, and we can refer back to
[16:00] Speaker 2: a testimony that is not old and antiquated, but is
[16:04] Speaker 2: ever new and vibrant and rich. The Bible is not
[16:09] Speaker 2: dead and dull. It's dynamic. It's alive, it's functioning, so
[16:16] Speaker 2: that what we find in the scripture is not in
[16:19] Speaker 2: the least outdated. The problem is we have become politically correct.
[16:26] Speaker 2: We've lost a true valuation of things with respect to
[16:30] Speaker 2: the nature of God, and so we now think the
[16:34] Speaker 2: Bible is outdated. We think we know better than what
[16:38] Speaker 2: the Bible says. And a typical expression of this is
[16:42] Speaker 2: same sex sexuality. When you talk about the Bible's denunciation.
[16:48] Speaker 2: In this regard, people have polite exasperation etched on their
[16:53] Speaker 2: faces because from their perspective, we have moved on, we're
[16:57] Speaker 2: more enlightened. But the reality is still the reality that
[17:03] Speaker 2: God places parameters around our lives to save us from
[17:08] Speaker 2: behavior that's destructive to us. And all the evidence in
[17:12] Speaker 2: an age of scientific enlightenment does demonstrate the destructive nature
[17:17] Speaker 2: from a physiological and a psychological perspective. So the Bible
[17:21] Speaker 2: is not eerily outdated. It's actually eerily up to date
[17:26] Speaker 2: with the times. And there is certainly no normative sense
[17:32] Speaker 2: in which we can do miracles today. There's no promise
[17:36] Speaker 2: that we can do miracles today. The promise of the
[17:39] Speaker 2: Bible is quite different, and that is we all get
[17:42] Speaker 2: sick and eventually we all die. The issue from a
[17:46] Speaker 2: Christian perspective is not health and wealth in this life,
[17:50] Speaker 2: but it is the resurrection of the body and the
[17:53] Speaker 2: life to come. So Christianity has never intended to give
[17:56] Speaker 2: us a peaceful way to come to terms or come
[18:00] Speaker 2: to grips with the difficulties are the maladies of life,
[18:02] Speaker 2: but it gives us something far better, a way to
[18:05] Speaker 2: overcome them through the power of Christ resurrection. And that's
[18:08] Speaker 2: why the main point is to live not for the now,
[18:14] Speaker 2: but to use the now for eternity.
[18:18] Speaker 6: I'd just like to thank you so much for your
[18:20] Speaker 6: time for explaining that, Hank, you got.
[18:22] Speaker 2: It, Keith, thanks for calling. And there are only three
[18:25] Speaker 2: periods in which miracles prominently manifested themselves. The time of Moses,
[18:31] Speaker 2: the time of Elijah and Elisha, and of course the
[18:34] Speaker 2: time of Christ and the Apostles. So even within biblical times,
[18:38] Speaker 2: miracles were not common, and certainly miracles are not normative today.
[18:42] Speaker 2: We're certainly not suggesting that God cannot do the miraculous,
[18:45] Speaker 2: of course he can, but we are suggesting that from
[18:49] Speaker 2: a Biblical perspective, miracles are not normative. They manifested during
[18:54] Speaker 2: the periods mentioned because there's an establishment of authority for Jesus,
[19:00] Speaker 2: for the apostles, and for the prophets. But now we
[19:03] Speaker 2: have the biblical text, and in Luke chapter sixteen, the
[19:09] Speaker 2: rich man wants to go back and warn his brothers
[19:14] Speaker 2: and the enigmatic responses they have Moses and the prophets.
[19:19] Speaker 2: If they don't believe that, they're not going to believe
[19:20] Speaker 2: even if someone rises from the dead. So we have
[19:24] Speaker 2: all the evidence necessary, we have the infallible repository of
[19:29] Speaker 2: redemptive revelation. Want to go back to the phone lines,
[19:32] Speaker 2: Doctor Rita in Nashville, Tennessee.
[19:35] Speaker 7: Hi, Rita, Hi, Hey, thank you for taking my call.
[19:38] Speaker 2: You're welcome.
[19:39] Speaker 7: I had questions about Mormonerism because I have a niece,
[19:43] Speaker 7: a Mormon, and the whole family started off that way
[19:47] Speaker 7: kind of as they all got out of it but her,
[19:50] Speaker 7: But they never really talked about, you know, what really
[19:54] Speaker 7: went on. I'm just learning about it and actually say
[19:58] Speaker 7: that they're not the same type of Christians that we are.
[20:01] Speaker 7: What you're saying because their belief.
[20:05] Speaker 2: Well, they're not a bit different, they're significantly different. Remember,
[20:09] Speaker 2: the founder of Mormonism taught that God himself was once
[20:13] Speaker 2: as we are now and is an exalted man and
[20:16] Speaker 2: sits enthroned in yonder heavens. So in Mormonism, God is
[20:23] Speaker 2: God now, but he was once a man as we
[20:26] Speaker 2: are men. And the belief in Mormonism is just as
[20:31] Speaker 2: God progressed to godhood, so too we can progress to Godhood.
[20:37] Speaker 2: And I think just as seriously they teach an aberration
[20:42] Speaker 2: with respect to who Jesus Christ is. In Mormonism, he
[20:46] Speaker 2: is the spirit brother of Lucifer, who was conceived in
[20:48] Speaker 2: heaven by a celestial mother and then came in flesh
[20:53] Speaker 2: as the result of the Father having sex with the
[20:55] Speaker 2: virgin Mary. And of course their authority is not the Bible.
[20:59] Speaker 2: They believe that the Book of Mormon is the most
[21:03] Speaker 2: correct of any book on earth and the keystone to
[21:06] Speaker 2: their religion. The problem, of course, is that the Book
[21:09] Speaker 2: of Mormon has been utterly discredited by both anthropology as
[21:14] Speaker 2: well as archaeology.
[21:16] Speaker 7: Okay, I just didn't know much about it until you
[21:19] Speaker 7: start hearing about it, Like the magic under where I
[21:22] Speaker 7: thought that was something people made up until I actually
[21:25] Speaker 7: seen it on TV.
[21:26] Speaker 2: No, it's not made up at all. It is a
[21:29] Speaker 2: present practice of Mormonism.
[21:31] Speaker 7: Okay, well, I'm learning about it. I just I just
[21:34] Speaker 7: thought some of the stuff was made up, like about
[21:37] Speaker 7: the planets and all.
[21:37] Speaker 6: That kind of stuff.
[21:39] Speaker 7: It's just kind of shocking then that my niece is
[21:41] Speaker 7: so sweet that she I just can't believe that she
[21:44] Speaker 7: believes it, and it's just kind of shocking to me. Okay,
[21:48] Speaker 7: but thank you, you got it.
[21:49] Speaker 2: And we have some very helpful literature of the Christian
[21:53] Speaker 2: Research Institute with respect of Mormonism, including flip chart titled
[21:58] Speaker 2: Memorable Keys to the Mormon Morau. It's four by six,
[22:02] Speaker 2: it's laminated. You can put in a pocket or a purse,
[22:05] Speaker 2: and it gives you the aberrations of Mormonism in a
[22:07] Speaker 2: memorable format so that you can use them as springboards
[22:10] Speaker 2: or opportunities to share the truth and grace and love
[22:14] Speaker 2: that only Jesus Christ can bring to the human heart.
[22:17] Speaker 2: I want to go back to the phone lines doctor Brian.
[22:20] Speaker 2: He's listening on the web in Littleton, Colorado. Hi Brian, Hi, Ank,
[22:25] Speaker 2: How are you good? How are you?
[22:27] Speaker 8: I think there's a disagreement we have because you know,
[22:30] Speaker 8: I do believe in the Lord, but I believe the
[22:33] Speaker 8: Lord is and I'm just reading from Mark twelve right
[22:36] Speaker 8: here and in the first of all command it's hereld Israel,
[22:41] Speaker 8: the Lord, our God is one Lord, period, period the end.
[22:46] Speaker 8: And in my understanding, I heard this on your program.
[22:51] Speaker 8: If you explain to a lady that no, there's a
[22:53] Speaker 8: second rule which states that there are also three persons,
[22:59] Speaker 8: and that doesn't where with the you know that violates
[23:02] Speaker 8: rule number one.
[23:03] Speaker 2: Well, it actually doesn't, because there's a difference between speaking
[23:06] Speaker 2: about persons and I'm equivocating on that term and ontology.
[23:12] Speaker 2: When you're talking about the nature essence of God, we're
[23:14] Speaker 2: talking about one God. The Bible is not polytheistic. It's
[23:19] Speaker 2: fiercely monotheistic. So the Hebrew Shamah hero Israel, the Lord,
[23:24] Speaker 2: your God is one, is reiterated in the New Testament.
[23:28] Speaker 2: There's only one God by nature or essence. So we're
[23:31] Speaker 2: talking here about a category. It's ontology. When we talk
[23:37] Speaker 2: about persons, we're.
[23:38] Speaker 8: Talking about Wait a second, when you say category, are
[23:42] Speaker 8: you saying that there could be possibly a race of
[23:46] Speaker 8: gods or not?
[23:48] Speaker 2: You know, No, No, I'm not you're coming to or No,
[23:52] Speaker 2: that's not where I'm coming to. What I'm saying is
[23:53] Speaker 2: that there's only one God by nature or essence. So
[23:57] Speaker 2: I'm talking philosophically about a category called ontology.
[24:03] Speaker 8: Well, yeah, that's I mean, that's like ais would be
[24:06] Speaker 8: of a human nature.
[24:08] Speaker 2: No, the nature of God ontologically, the nature of God
[24:12] Speaker 2: is not the same as the nature of human beings.
[24:15] Speaker 2: But what I'm saying here is that when the Bible
[24:19] Speaker 2: says there is only one God, it's speaking of one
[24:23] Speaker 2: God by virtue of nature or essence. When the Bible
[24:29] Speaker 2: says that the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are God.
[24:35] Speaker 2: It is not.
[24:36] Speaker 8: Saying now that they're with no plural to it. It's
[24:39] Speaker 8: just the one God.
[24:41] Speaker 2: Knowing. What we're talking about here is identity formed and
[24:45] Speaker 2: completed on the basis of relationships within the God. Let
[24:50] Speaker 2: me put it simply. The Bible says, there's one what
[24:53] Speaker 2: in three who's.
[24:55] Speaker 8: No, it doesn't does it say that? Well, that's what?
[24:59] Speaker 8: Where does?
[25:00] Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you.
[25:01] Speaker 8: The Bible says, let me just clarify this for you.
[25:04] Speaker 2: Okay, you got a hurry because we're almost out of time.
[25:07] Speaker 8: If there is more than one person's Jesus Christ had
[25:11] Speaker 8: an opportunity to say it right then and there in
[25:14] Speaker 8: Mark twelve.
[25:15] Speaker 2: Well, Jesus did say it. He said the Father, and
[25:18] Speaker 2: in that.
[25:19] Speaker 8: One essence there's three persons and blah blah, blah blah.
[25:21] Speaker 8: He kill it clearly.
[25:23] Speaker 2: He says, the Father and Son are two distinct witnesses
[25:27] Speaker 2: and two distinct judges. So he makes a distinction between
[25:31] Speaker 2: himself and the Father. So the Trinity simply says this
[25:35] Speaker 2: that there's one God. The Bible communicates clearly that Jesus
[25:40] Speaker 2: is God, the Father's God, and the Holy Spirit is God,
[25:42] Speaker 2: and the Bible clearly communicates that Father, Son, and Holy
[25:45] Speaker 2: Spirit are eternally distinct. You can see this in the Annunciation,
[25:49] Speaker 2: you can see this in the Baptism of Jesus Christ.
[25:52] Speaker 2: You can see it in the Great Commission. So one
[25:55] Speaker 2: God revealed in three persons, person having to do with identity,
[26:00] Speaker 2: formed and completed on the basis of relationships within the Godhead,
[26:04] Speaker 2: and they're eternally distinct. So trinity is just a word
[26:08] Speaker 2: that codifies what is taught in scripture. Out of time
