On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (06/30/26), Hank discusses the advantages and blessings of being part of the CRI Support Team. Hank also expands on and defines four groups of people associated with CRI: Support Team members, donors, occasional givers, and non-giving listeners. Hank also answers the following questions: I have an associate who thinks the Church of Christ is the only church and that other churches are false. What are your thoughts on this? Venice - Bakersfield, CA (4:07) How can Jesus be listed as a descendant of Joseph in the Bible? Leia - Charlotte, NC (7:03) Must we tithe only to a church, or does it not matter as long as it is going to God’s kingdom? Andrew - Moore, OK (15:42) Is the creation account in Genesis chapter 1 literal, or is it an allegory? Are the accounts of the fall and the flood literal? Mark - NC (20:18) Can we infer from the Bible that man has been around for thousands of years, not millions of years? Mark - NC (23:53)

[0:07] Speaker 1: Welcome to the Bible answer Man Broadcast with Christian Research
[0:11] Speaker 1: Institute President Hank Canagraph. Our mission at CRII is not
[0:15] Speaker 1: only to equip you with sound biblical teaching and spiritual discernment,
[0:20] Speaker 1: but to help you become a winsome and fruitful witness
[0:23] Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ. Because the credibility of our faith hinges
[0:27] Speaker 1: on the answers we provide to life's biggest questions. There's
[0:31] Speaker 1: often not a second chance to get those answers right,
[0:34] Speaker 1: to learn more, or to find resources to help you
[0:37] Speaker 1: grow in grace. Call eight eight eight seven thousand CRI.
[0:42] Speaker 1: That's eight eight eight seven thousand two seven four, or
[0:46] Speaker 1: go to our website at equip dot org. That's equip
[0:51] Speaker 1: dot org. The following program was pre recorded and now
[0:57] Speaker 1: here's Hank Canagraph.
[0:58] Speaker 2: There Randee. Questions coming in from so many different sources
[1:03] Speaker 2: through our website, equipped dot org, through Facebook, even the
[1:07] Speaker 2: male questions are coming in through the mail. So there
[1:10] Speaker 2: are a lot of ways in which we have an
[1:12] Speaker 2: opportunity to answer people's questions, and that is a core
[1:15] Speaker 2: value of the ministry at the Christian Research Institute. The
[1:19] Speaker 2: Bible answer Man Broadcast and our outreaches around the world,
[1:24] Speaker 2: and as many of you know, something I have been
[1:27] Speaker 2: communicating for almost a month. This is the very last
[1:31] Speaker 2: day of the month. I've been communicating the need for
[1:34] Speaker 2: people to stand shoulder to shoulder with us in the
[1:36] Speaker 2: battle for life and truth. Reason being that this month
[1:42] Speaker 2: is the end of our fiscal year, and many people
[1:47] Speaker 2: have been gracious and have started standing with us, some
[1:50] Speaker 2: who have never stood with us before. There are many
[1:54] Speaker 2: who have joined CRI's support team that has really ratcheted
[1:59] Speaker 2: up over the last couple of days. I call support
[2:02] Speaker 2: team members the Green Berets, or the special forces of
[2:06] Speaker 2: the Ministry of the Christian Research Institute. Without this special
[2:11] Speaker 2: group of support team members, hearing our broadcasts or podcasts
[2:17] Speaker 2: simply would not happen. There are four basic categories that
[2:22] Speaker 2: we're talking about in terms of support team members. First
[2:27] Speaker 2: and foremost, as I was just mentioning the CRII support team,
[2:31] Speaker 2: this is a special team of people we simply could
[2:35] Speaker 2: not exist without. And then there are donors, and oftentimes
[2:39] Speaker 2: I ask people who are donors to consider going from
[2:43] Speaker 2: being an occasional donor to being a support team member.
[2:49] Speaker 2: And then there are those who make a gift occasionally
[2:52] Speaker 2: in other words, one gift a year, and I just
[2:55] Speaker 2: think about the impact that would have in terms of
[2:59] Speaker 2: reaching people around the world. If one time givers would
[3:04] Speaker 2: give twice a year or three times a year, it
[3:07] Speaker 2: would equate to hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue
[3:11] Speaker 2: needed for vital ministry efforts. And then there are those
[3:15] Speaker 2: who have listened for years, maybe some twenty years or longer,
[3:19] Speaker 2: who have never supported the ministry. Oftentimes it is because
[3:23] Speaker 2: they think there's plenty of support, or there's a foundation
[3:26] Speaker 2: that is supporting the ministry, and therefore the ministry simply
[3:29] Speaker 2: doesn't need support. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
[3:33] Speaker 2: This ministry is a collective effort of not only staff
[3:38] Speaker 2: and volunteers within the Ministry the Christian Research Institute, but
[3:42] Speaker 2: beyond that, those who are standing shoulder to shoulder with
[3:46] Speaker 2: us in the battle for life and truth. And as
[3:49] Speaker 2: I am fond of saying, the difference you are making
[3:52] Speaker 2: is not just a temporary difference. It is an eternal difference,
[3:57] Speaker 2: a difference that not only counts for times, but a
[4:01] Speaker 2: difference for all eternity as well. Let's take a few calls.
[4:07] Speaker 2: First up is Venice listening in Bakersfield, California. Hi Venice,
[4:14] Speaker 2: Hi Hank, how are you. I'm doing well. Thank you.
[4:18] Speaker 3: That's a blessing. I just want to say I thank
[4:20] Speaker 3: you so much for your broadcast and continue prayers to you.
[4:23] Speaker 2: Thank you so much. Venis be for you.
[4:27] Speaker 3: Okay. My question is this, I have an associate who
[4:32] Speaker 3: believes that the Church of Christ is the only church
[4:36] Speaker 3: that will be saved and that members of any other
[4:40] Speaker 3: church such as Baptist Church, Lutheran Church, things like that,
[4:44] Speaker 3: are doomed. And I just wanted to know your insight
[4:49] Speaker 3: on that, and if I could, I'll just go ahead
[4:51] Speaker 3: and disconnect and I'll listen to your answer.
[4:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a part of the Church of Christ
[4:56] Speaker 2: movement and sell them. More extreme factions within this movement
[5:02] Speaker 2: actually go further and argue that anyone who views baptism
[5:06] Speaker 2: differently from them as not a Christian is therefore lost,
[5:09] Speaker 2: even if that person has been baptized in the name
[5:12] Speaker 2: of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The idea is
[5:15] Speaker 2: you have to be baptized by their movement using their formula,
[5:20] Speaker 2: and if you are not, you're not part of the
[5:23] Speaker 2: body of Christ. And some of the more extreme factions
[5:28] Speaker 2: include the Boston Church of Christ as probably the best
[5:32] Speaker 2: known of these authoritarian groups, and this particular group go
[5:35] Speaker 2: so far as to say that other segments of the
[5:38] Speaker 2: Church of Christ movement are non Christian and will face
[5:41] Speaker 2: eternal damnation. So even within the Church of Christ movement itself,
[5:45] Speaker 2: this particular faction thinks it's the only faction that's on
[5:50] Speaker 2: the right path to salvation. But I should mention, and
[5:55] Speaker 2: I think I'm sort of alluding to that this movement
[5:58] Speaker 2: is not monolithic, I faceted, and because of that, there
[6:02] Speaker 2: are also factions within the Church of Christ movement that
[6:05] Speaker 2: are thoroughly biblical. They have traditions, like the tradition of
[6:10] Speaker 2: not using musical instruments. I remember preaching for Max Luccato
[6:15] Speaker 2: and this wonderful church, wonderful brothers and sisters and the Lord.
[6:20] Speaker 2: But one of the distinctives and Max Locato's church was
[6:23] Speaker 2: they didn't have instruments. Now, for Max, that was not
[6:26] Speaker 2: an acid test for Orthodox. He was simply a tradition
[6:30] Speaker 2: that they adhered to in his particular tradition. Obviously, he
[6:34] Speaker 2: is not only a great preacher and writer, but I
[6:38] Speaker 2: can tell you from personal experience he's the absolute real deal.
[6:41] Speaker 2: As well. So again, the Church of Christ movement runs
[6:44] Speaker 2: the gamut from cultism to orthodox Christianity. I don't mean
[6:49] Speaker 2: orthodox with the big o', but orthodoxy in the sense
[6:52] Speaker 2: of upholding all the essentials of the historic Christian faith,
[6:56] Speaker 2: as we often say in essentials, unity, nodentials, liberty, and
[7:01] Speaker 2: all things charity. Let's go back to our phone callers.
[7:05] Speaker 2: Talk to Leah and Charlotte North Carolina.
[7:08] Speaker 4: Hiliah, Hi, Hank.
[7:12] Speaker 5: I just want to say thank you so much for
[7:13] Speaker 5: your program and your wisdom is really a blessing from
[7:17] Speaker 5: the Lord.
[7:17] Speaker 2: Oh bless you. Thank you for saying that.
[7:21] Speaker 5: My question is that when I reading a word, it
[7:24] Speaker 5: talks about Jesus being the descendant of Joseph. And I'm
[7:29] Speaker 5: sort of confused about that because we know, you know,
[7:33] Speaker 5: the Holy Spirit. He's conceived by the Holy Spirit. But
[7:35] Speaker 5: I don't understand how they say when the Word talks
[7:38] Speaker 5: about that, I don't understand that connection.
[7:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's kind of interesting, and I think you have
[7:42] Speaker 2: to go back to how genealogies are used in general.
[7:47] Speaker 2: If you look, for example, what the President's said in Genesis,
[7:51] Speaker 2: you find that there are ten genealogies on one side
[7:55] Speaker 2: of the flood and ten genealogies on the other side
[7:58] Speaker 2: of the flood, and that a tip off that this
[8:02] Speaker 2: isn't about sequence, it's about symmetry. There's a purpose in
[8:07] Speaker 2: the genealogical construction. Now, the same thing is true if
[8:12] Speaker 2: you go to let's say, Matthew's genealogy. Of course, Matthew
[8:16] Speaker 2: was a tax collector, and so he skillfully organized the
[8:20] Speaker 2: genealogy of Jesus into three groups of fourteen, which just
[8:25] Speaker 2: happens to be the numerical equivalent to the Hebrew letters
[8:28] Speaker 2: and King David's name. So Matthew's genealogy simultaneously highlighted the
[8:34] Speaker 2: most significant names in the lineage of Jesus, but more importantly,
[8:39] Speaker 2: artistically emphasized our Lord's identity as Messiah, who would forever
[8:45] Speaker 2: sit upon the throne of David. My point here is
[8:49] Speaker 2: that you don't want to read too much into the genealogies,
[8:52] Speaker 2: because there's a purpose behind the genealogies. In other words,
[8:58] Speaker 2: the genealogies are chirological. They are communicating a purpose as
[9:05] Speaker 2: opposed to let's say, a chronology. That distinction has to
[9:09] Speaker 2: be seen. So it may very well be that Matthew's
[9:13] Speaker 2: purpose was to provide the legal lineage from Solomon through Joseph,
[9:19] Speaker 2: whereas Luke has a different idea or purpose in mind,
[9:22] Speaker 2: and that is to provide the natural lineage from Nathan
[9:27] Speaker 2: through Mary. But it could also be that Matthew and
[9:30] Speaker 2: Luke were both tracing Joseph's genealogy, Matthew the legal line
[9:35] Speaker 2: and looked the natural line. But you also have to
[9:39] Speaker 2: remember this sort of a wild card. I supposed to
[9:41] Speaker 2: put it in secular vernacular. You have to remember what
[9:44] Speaker 2: Romans is telling us about this. Specifically, the one thing
[9:48] Speaker 2: we have to know for certain is that Mary is
[9:53] Speaker 2: a descendant of David. And this is what Paul points out.
[9:58] Speaker 2: It's Romans Chapter one, which explicitly tells us that Jesus
[10:03] Speaker 2: descended from David according to the Flesh. So if you
[10:07] Speaker 2: want to know about this, as you've rightly pointed out
[10:11] Speaker 2: in the prologue to your question according to the Flesh,
[10:15] Speaker 2: then you have a biblical explanation. The other explanations are
[10:19] Speaker 2: again more chirological than chronological. There's a purpose in giving them,
[10:25] Speaker 2: because Lucas tracing the genealogy of humanity all the way
[10:30] Speaker 2: back to the first Man, whereas Matthew's purpose is a
[10:37] Speaker 2: little different. He's not going back to the first man, Adam,
[10:41] Speaker 2: but he's actually going back in time to Abraham, the
[10:47] Speaker 2: legal air of David.
[10:49] Speaker 5: Okay, thank you so much. I appreciate it.
[10:52] Speaker 6: Thank you, you got it.
[10:53] Speaker 2: We are coming to the station right way back, and
[10:55] Speaker 2: there's another very good more of the Bible lance Man Broadcast,
[10:57] Speaker 2: So please stay tuned. We'll be right back.
[11:02] Speaker 1: If you've benefited from the Bible answer Man Broadcast but
[11:06] Speaker 1: have never made a show of support, there is no
[11:08] Speaker 1: better time than today. We're just hours away from the

[12:56] Speaker 1: dot org. Winston Churchill once declared, you may have to
[13:03] Speaker 1: fight when there is no hope of victory, because it
[13:06] Speaker 1: is better to perish than to live as slaves. Churchill
[13:10] Speaker 1: sought to awaken those who were reluctant to fight against
[13:13] Speaker 1: the advancing Nazi war machine. Today, a spiritual battle is
[13:17] Speaker 1: taking place Atheism advances in the West, and slavery to
[13:21] Speaker 1: secularity is imprisoning more and more hearts and minds in
[13:25] Speaker 1: the United States. For this reason, CRI's ministry is critical,
[13:29] Speaker 1: but we need people willing to stand for truth along
[13:33] Speaker 1: with the financial provisions to accomplish its mission. Stand with
[13:37] Speaker 1: Hank Hanigraph and the Christian Research Institute during the month

[14:08] Speaker 1: Scripture merely human in origin? Or are they, in fact
[14:11] Speaker 1: the very words of God himself. Three years in the
[14:16] Speaker 1: making and based on two decades of research and reflection,
[14:19] Speaker 1: Hank Henagraph's monumental book Has God Spoken answers what is
[14:24] Speaker 1: surely the most important question facing our world. In Has
[14:28] Speaker 1: God Spoken? Memorable Proofs of the Bible's Divine inspiration, Hank
[14:33] Speaker 1: counters the contentions of the Bible attackers and clearly shows
[14:36] Speaker 1: that belief in the Holy Scriptures is not a guess
[14:39] Speaker 1: or wishful thinking. It is the only logical conclusion after
[14:43] Speaker 1: an honest examination of overwhelming evidence. Order has God spoken?

[15:09] Speaker 2: Then welcome back to the Bible answer Man Broadcast and
[15:12] Speaker 2: as always, just delighted to have this opportunity to answer
[15:14] Speaker 2: your questions. Because we are getting closer and closer to
[15:18] Speaker 2: the end of our fiscal year, we need people to
[15:22] Speaker 2: step up to the plate and stand with this ministry
[15:24] Speaker 2: prayerfully and financially. For those who join the support team,
[15:27] Speaker 2: be pleased to send you one of my books personalized
[15:30] Speaker 2: to you a family member or a friend. You can
[15:33] Speaker 2: check that out on the web at equipped dot org.
[15:35] Speaker 2: Or you can also just pick up the phone and
[15:37] Speaker 2: talk to one of our resource consultants trip Light seven
[15:39] Speaker 2: thousand and the letters c R. Let's go back to
[15:43] Speaker 2: the phone lines and talk to Andrew in More, Oklahoma.
[15:47] Speaker 6: Hi, Andrew, Hi, sir, thank you for taking my call,
[15:50] Speaker 6: and I'll tell you I appreciate everything that you're doing
[15:52] Speaker 6: and love yourself very much.
[15:54] Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Andrew.
[15:57] Speaker 6: My question is well only onto some money, and I'm
[16:02] Speaker 6: not sure it was for tithed, and I was kind
[16:06] Speaker 6: of I've been pulled to and fro on whether what
[16:09] Speaker 6: the tithing actually is. And my question was, really, do
[16:15] Speaker 6: you have to give your tithe to a church or
[16:18] Speaker 6: does it matter as long as it's going to God's kingdom.
[16:20] Speaker 6: I'm not sure about this.
[16:22] Speaker 2: Well, I think the real thing that you want to
[16:25] Speaker 2: do is recognize the importance of the tithe. In the
[16:29] Speaker 2: Old Testament, Moses says, we tithe in order to reverence
[16:34] Speaker 2: the Lord our God always, and as such tithing is
[16:37] Speaker 2: a universal principle. But that universal principle is actually given
[16:44] Speaker 2: heightened clarity in the Bible with respect to stewardship, which
[16:48] Speaker 2: is to say, stewardship is not just giving a tenth,
[16:52] Speaker 2: but rather giving everything. And what that means in essence
[16:56] Speaker 2: is that you hold everything with an open hand so
[16:58] Speaker 2: that God can take out and put in as he
[17:01] Speaker 2: sees fit, because your goal is not to simply fulfill
[17:05] Speaker 2: some kind of legalistic prescription, but rather to extend His kingdom.
[17:10] Speaker 2: So I think that the real purpose of tithing is
[17:14] Speaker 2: to make an investment in the kingdom. So where do
[17:17] Speaker 2: you make an investment in the kingdom, will you make
[17:20] Speaker 2: it where the Kingdom is most being impacted extended into
[17:28] Speaker 2: the lives of people around the world. So you make
[17:30] Speaker 2: the wisest investment you can. That's what you would do.
[17:33] Speaker 2: If you were investing in a company, you would check
[17:36] Speaker 2: the company out and you would make an investment in
[17:39] Speaker 2: a company that's going to bring back a yield financially. Well,
[17:43] Speaker 2: in ministry, you're looking for spiritual dividends, spiritual yield, So
[17:49] Speaker 2: you want to invest in organizations, ministries, churches that are
[17:52] Speaker 2: really making a difference for time and for eternity.
[17:55] Speaker 6: Okay, that makes sense. The main deal to have been
[17:58] Speaker 6: known on the money else good to the radio station.
[18:01] Speaker 6: But I don't know if that would be if I
[18:02] Speaker 6: could give that money, or if that was need to
[18:04] Speaker 6: be set back to give to a church.
[18:07] Speaker 2: Well, I think it's you want to give to those ministries,
[18:12] Speaker 2: whether it's a church, whether it's a radio ministry, whether
[18:16] Speaker 2: it's a relief organization. But those organizations that God has
[18:21] Speaker 2: laid upon your heart. And I cannot give you an
[18:24] Speaker 2: answer as to where. But I think that if you
[18:27] Speaker 2: give with a grateful heart to an organization making a difference,
[18:30] Speaker 2: that's a good investment in the kingdom.
[18:33] Speaker 6: All right, that makes a lot of sense. So thank
[18:34] Speaker 6: you very much, Hey.
[18:35] Speaker 2: Thanks for your call. And the Bible chronicles the prayer
[18:38] Speaker 2: of David. He thanked God for the very privilege of
[18:41] Speaker 2: being able to give to the work of the Lord.
[18:44] Speaker 2: That prayer should be indelibly marked upon our hearts. He prayed,
[18:49] Speaker 2: who am I and who are my people? That we
[18:53] Speaker 2: should be able to give as generously as this. Everything
[18:58] Speaker 2: comes from you, and we have given you only what
[19:01] Speaker 2: comes from your hand. And now have seen with joy,
[19:05] Speaker 2: how willingly your people who are here have given to you.
[19:10] Speaker 2: And I think of a new Testament facsimile to that.
[19:14] Speaker 2: You think about Lydia, who was converted as a result
[19:18] Speaker 2: of the Macedonian call that Paul received in a vision,
[19:24] Speaker 2: and as a result of her conversion, all kinds of
[19:27] Speaker 2: other people were converted. And those people were the very
[19:31] Speaker 2: people who supported Paul's ministry. And they gave not out
[19:36] Speaker 2: of their abundance, but they gave out of their want
[19:42] Speaker 2: because they trusted in the arm of God rather than
[19:46] Speaker 2: the arm of flesh. And if you think about those
[19:48] Speaker 2: people supporting the ministry of Paul and Timothy, you think
[19:54] Speaker 2: those dividends are being paid to this very day, because
[19:58] Speaker 2: we today, as result of the ministry of Paul, have
[20:02] Speaker 2: two thirds in the New Testament epistles that continue to
[20:05] Speaker 2: exhort and equip and instruct us. So giving pays dividends
[20:12] Speaker 2: in the lives of people. Only when life soon twill
[20:16] Speaker 2: be passed, only what's done for Christ will last. Back
[20:18] Speaker 2: to the phone lines, Mark next in North Carolina, high Mark.
[20:23] Speaker 4: Hi, Hey, thanks for taking that call.
[20:25] Speaker 2: It's my pleasure.
[20:27] Speaker 4: As far as the creation and Dennis's one, is it
[20:30] Speaker 4: literal or is it an allegory?
[20:33] Speaker 2: Well, it's not an allegory. It's a historical narrative. So
[20:37] Speaker 2: what we have here in the beginning is God creates
[20:41] Speaker 2: a real Adam in a real eve, and we see
[20:45] Speaker 2: that the very chapter that references the fall also then
[20:50] Speaker 2: records the plan for restoration of fellowship, and that plan
[20:54] Speaker 2: takes on definition with God's promise to make Abraham a
[20:59] Speaker 2: great nation through which all peoples on earth will be blessed.
[21:04] Speaker 2: And so Abram's call is the divine antidote to Adam's fall.
[21:09] Speaker 2: This is not an allegory, nor should we allegorize the text.
[21:14] Speaker 2: We should read the text in the sense in which
[21:16] Speaker 2: it is intended. If Adam did not fall into a
[21:20] Speaker 2: life of perpetual sin terminated by death, there's no need
[21:23] Speaker 2: for redemption. So if we allegorize the first atom, there's
[21:26] Speaker 2: no need for the second atom.
[21:29] Speaker 4: Okay, let me, I'll follow up. Then the fall Genesis
[21:34] Speaker 4: one through ten. Can we look at, for example, the
[21:37] Speaker 4: fall and death be the sand, and then the genesis flood?
[21:42] Speaker 4: Can we look upon them as little as well, helping
[21:45] Speaker 4: to explain a number of other things.
[21:47] Speaker 2: Well, absolutely, there was a real fall, there was a
[21:50] Speaker 2: real temptation. There was a first man and a first woman.
[21:53] Speaker 2: Jesus in fact, develops his theology on marriage based on
[21:58] Speaker 2: the first man and first woman. So you have to
[22:01] Speaker 2: take that as a historical narrative. But the fact that
[22:04] Speaker 2: it is a historical narrative does not mean that there
[22:08] Speaker 2: isn't metaphor used or figures of speech used. Obviously there is.
[22:13] Speaker 2: When God says to Adam and Eve, where are you?
[22:17] Speaker 2: Doesn't mean that God doesn't know all things. It is
[22:19] Speaker 2: a way of speaking. It is a divine condescension to
[22:25] Speaker 2: our human limitations. When God says he walks with Adam
[22:29] Speaker 2: and Eve as or in the cool of the day.
[22:31] Speaker 2: It doesn't mean that God has big feet. It is
[22:33] Speaker 2: a way of communicating that God had fellowship with Adam
[22:37] Speaker 2: and Eve. So we have to if we take the
[22:40] Speaker 2: Bible literally, we have to read it as literature, recognizing
[22:45] Speaker 2: that all of literature is impregnated with metaphor, and the
[22:50] Speaker 2: essence of metaphor is understanding one thing in terms of another.
[22:55] Speaker 2: So if you think about the fall of Adam and Eve,
[22:58] Speaker 2: that it self is a orientational metaphor. Or falling asleep
[23:04] Speaker 2: is an orientational metaphor. Or raised in baptism, or Christ
[23:09] Speaker 2: raised from the dead. Now that does not mean that
[23:11] Speaker 2: Christ wasn't actually raised from the dead, but being raised
[23:14] Speaker 2: from the dead the metaphor communicates something. It communicates something
[23:18] Speaker 2: with sharp teeth. It means that we too will rise.
[23:22] Speaker 2: It doesn't mean that we're gonna float. It means that
[23:25] Speaker 2: our bodies that die are going to be restored in resurrection.
[23:29] Speaker 2: But we use orientational metaphors all the time. We might
[23:33] Speaker 2: say I'm feeling up, or I'm feeling down, or I'm
[23:35] Speaker 2: feeling low, or I'm falling into the abyss of despair.
[23:38] Speaker 2: These are metaphors. Doesn't mean that you're not really despairing
[23:42] Speaker 2: doesn't mean that you're not really feeling low. It is
[23:45] Speaker 2: a way of communicating. So you have to take literature
[23:48] Speaker 2: in the sense in which it's intended, and if you
[23:51] Speaker 2: don't end up with his nonsense.
[23:53] Speaker 4: Yeah, and so literally, if man has been around, we
[23:57] Speaker 4: can confer our thousands, not millions of years in relationship
[24:04] Speaker 4: is creation and the fall death came on. And so
[24:11] Speaker 4: if death and suffering came on millions of years ago,
[24:13] Speaker 4: as the evolutionary theory would would say, is a part
[24:17] Speaker 4: of basically their proposed creation, then our doctrine would make sense,
[24:23] Speaker 4: would it not.
[24:24] Speaker 2: If well, well, they don't have any proposed creation. I mean,
[24:27] Speaker 2: the evolutionary system posits that nothing creates everything, that life
[24:30] Speaker 2: comes from non life, and that the life that came
[24:32] Speaker 2: from non life produced morals. I mean, this is untenable
[24:35] Speaker 2: in age of scientific enlightenment. But you're right to say
[24:38] Speaker 2: that humanity has been around millions of years simply does
[24:42] Speaker 2: not correspond to reality. You can use the term thousands,
[24:46] Speaker 2: but you can't use the term millions. Now, having said that,
[24:49] Speaker 2: how old the universe is is a function of understanding
[24:53] Speaker 2: God's general revelation. Because the Bible does not give us
[24:58] Speaker 2: a chronology of cre It does give us a hierarchy
[25:01] Speaker 2: of creation, culminating in the crowning jewel of God's creation, humankind.
