[0:11] Speaker 1: This is the Bible answer Man Broadcast. Your host for
[0:15] Speaker 1: the program is Hank Hannagraph, President of the Christian Research Institute.
[0:20] Speaker 1: We're on the air because life and truth matter. For
[0:24] Speaker 1: more information resources or to donate to CRI, call eight
[0:29] Speaker 1: eight eight seven thousand CRI, or go online to equip
[0:34] Speaker 1: dot org. That's equip dot org. The following program was
[0:39] Speaker 1: pre recorded to start today's Bible answer Man Broadcast. Here's
[0:44] Speaker 1: your host, Hank Canagraph.
[0:46] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy. It is a delight to
[0:48] Speaker 2: be in studio as we answer your questions throughout the
[0:50] Speaker 2: United States and Canada. We'll go right to our phone callers.
[0:54] Speaker 2: First up is Bob Listing and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Hi, Bob,
[0:57] Speaker 2: how are you doing, Hank, I'm doing well.
[0:59] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[1:00] Speaker 4: I was given a CD of experience that Bill Weiss
[1:05] Speaker 4: as he experienced about being thrown into hell for twenty
[1:09] Speaker 4: three minutes. I don't know if you've.
[1:11] Speaker 2: Heard of that, well I have. I mean, this is
[1:14] Speaker 2: an old story. It goes all the way back to
[1:17] Speaker 2: nineteen ninety eight. But we've had a whole slew of
[1:20] Speaker 2: these kinds of stories. We had Don Piper going to
[1:23] Speaker 2: Heaven in nineteen eighty nine, and Bill Weiss to Hell
[1:27] Speaker 2: in nineteen ninety eight, and Mary Kay Baxter.
[1:30] Speaker 3: Went to both places.
[1:32] Speaker 2: So we have all kinds of stories about people dying
[1:35] Speaker 2: and going to Heaven or going to Hell or in
[1:39] Speaker 2: the case of Mary Kay Baxter in nineteen seventy six,
[1:43] Speaker 2: going to both places and receiving revelations as a result
[1:47] Speaker 2: of her trips.
[1:48] Speaker 4: I mean, do you think there's any credibility to that
[1:51] Speaker 4: at all?
[1:51] Speaker 3: Or Well, here's the problem.
[1:55] Speaker 2: Subjective experiences are notoriously unreliable. And if you look at
[2:01] Speaker 2: what Bill Weese is saying about his experience in Hell,
[2:06] Speaker 2: it doesn't match what the Bible tells us. Supposedly, after
[2:13] Speaker 2: he had died, he ends up in a fiery pit
[2:16] Speaker 2: of Hell. He describes being naked inside of fifteen by
[2:21] Speaker 2: ten foot stone prison cell where he's tortured by four
[2:25] Speaker 2: demonic creatures that stood ten to thirteen feet tall that
[2:30] Speaker 2: had the form of humans with grotesque reptilian features, And
[2:37] Speaker 2: after crawling out of his cell, he witnesses a full
[2:39] Speaker 2: panorena of Hell's utter darkness and unquenchable fire. He smells
[2:45] Speaker 2: foul odors. He hears the screams of tortured souls, and
[2:50] Speaker 2: on and on it goes, well, what's the problem with that?
[2:55] Speaker 2: The problem with that is myriad. The first problem with
[3:00] Speaker 2: is Hell is not an actual place at present. When
[3:06] Speaker 2: people die, according to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
[3:11] Speaker 2: they end up in shield or Hades, and Jesus describes
[3:14] Speaker 2: that Luke chapter sixteen, the rich man is in torment,
[3:19] Speaker 2: and Lazarus, the beggar who was lying by his gait
[3:23] Speaker 2: who died, ends up in Abraham's bosom or paradise. Now,
[3:28] Speaker 2: the notion that either one of them is in a
[3:33] Speaker 2: state described by Mary Kay Baxter when she talks about
[3:37] Speaker 2: heaven or by Bill Weis when he talks about Hell,
[3:41] Speaker 2: simply does not fit the facts of scripture. Certainly there's torment,
[3:46] Speaker 2: but there's no sense whatsoever that Hell is a place
[3:52] Speaker 2: where you're going to be tormented by demons. Hell is
[3:55] Speaker 2: for the devil and his angels. It's not as though
[3:57] Speaker 2: they're the caretakers there and they're torturing everyone else. And
[4:02] Speaker 2: Hell as a place will be fixed in time when
[4:07] Speaker 2: Jesus Christ returns. Now, people experience a foretaste of Hell
[4:12] Speaker 2: in Hades, but there's a time when death and hades
[4:16] Speaker 2: are thrown in the Lake of Fire. In the Lake
[4:18] Speaker 2: of Fire is the second death. And so we have
[4:20] Speaker 2: in very graphic terms explained what it will be like
[4:24] Speaker 2: when the Lord Jesus Christ returns and Hell becomes an
[4:28] Speaker 2: actual place where people are separated from the love and
[4:32] Speaker 2: goodness and glory and grace of God for all eternity.
[4:35] Speaker 4: Okay, So I guess if a non save person were
[4:39] Speaker 4: to pass, then they probably are experiencing some form of
[4:44] Speaker 4: hell for lack of.
[4:45] Speaker 5: A better word.
[4:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, they're experiencing an earnest of hell, as it were,
[4:49] Speaker 2: a foretaste of what hell will be.
[4:52] Speaker 4: Okay, and just as you know, the believer is present
[4:55] Speaker 4: with the Lord, and as I heard you say on
[4:58] Speaker 4: a previous broadcast, that's relation and not necessarily a place.
[5:02] Speaker 2: Exactly because souls do not have extension in space. They're
[5:06] Speaker 2: non physical, right, Okay.
[5:08] Speaker 4: Well, you know, I'd received this CD from an individual
[5:12] Speaker 4: and I was really contemplating whether I should try to
[5:15] Speaker 4: copy it and hand it out myself. I mean, I
[5:18] Speaker 4: was brought up as an LCMS, you know, Lutheran all
[5:22] Speaker 4: my life, and and I you know, just it just
[5:26] Speaker 4: kind of when I listened to that CD. It kind
[5:29] Speaker 4: of stunned me to the point that, hey, you know what,
[5:32] Speaker 4: I know, Hell is real. I mean I believe that
[5:34] Speaker 4: all my life.
[5:35] Speaker 6: But it gave some.
[5:37] Speaker 4: Flavor to it. And I don't know if that's probably
[5:39] Speaker 4: what it was meant to do, to give it flavor
[5:41] Speaker 4: or what.
[5:41] Speaker 2: But right, But I don't think we have to make
[5:44] Speaker 2: up stories to augment the word of God. We have
[5:48] Speaker 2: Moses and the prophets. If they don't believe, they're not
[5:52] Speaker 2: going to believe even if someone rises from the dead.
[5:55] Speaker 3: I mean, that's a story you actually have. Out of
[5:56] Speaker 3: Luke sixteen.
[5:57] Speaker 4: Quoted some things like he mentioned that he felt actually
[6:00] Speaker 4: won an experienced tell when he was in the belly
[6:02] Speaker 4: of the fish, trying to say that, you know, in
[6:06] Speaker 4: the Word of God, you know this should be there
[6:08] Speaker 4: per se. Do you feel that's a credible.
[6:11] Speaker 2: Thing or do you think no, No, I don't think
[6:13] Speaker 2: it's a credible thing at all. Jonah did not go
[6:16] Speaker 2: to Hell, and to say that he did is to
[6:20] Speaker 2: miss the application of the passage which Jesus Christ gave himself.
[6:25] Speaker 2: We know from the Gospels that as Jonah was three
[6:29] Speaker 2: days in the belly of a great fish.
[6:32] Speaker 3: So Jesus Christ.
[6:33] Speaker 2: Will be in the heart of the earth, as it were,
[6:35] Speaker 2: he will be buried until the time of his resurrection
[6:40] Speaker 2: three days later.
[6:41] Speaker 4: Sure, sure, well tell you what. I really appreciate your
[6:44] Speaker 4: ministry and listen to you a lot.
[6:47] Speaker 2: Thank you, appreciate your call. I want to go back
[6:49] Speaker 2: to the phone lines. Talk to Joanne listening on the
[6:50] Speaker 2: web in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
[6:54] Speaker 3: Hi, Joanne, Hi, thank.
[6:56] Speaker 7: I have a few friends who are trying to get
[6:59] Speaker 7: me to read this book by Mary Baxter. And so
[7:03] Speaker 7: I heard the answer, and I just wanted some scriptures
[7:07] Speaker 7: like to kind of get back to them and tell
[7:11] Speaker 7: them why. But you've answered that very well, so I
[7:14] Speaker 7: don't need to ask that question, okay. But I was
[7:17] Speaker 7: also wondering about Rebecca Brown. That's another series of books
[7:22] Speaker 7: somebody else is trying to get me to read. Have
[7:24] Speaker 7: you any comments on her?
[7:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, And I would say that my comments with respect
[7:29] Speaker 2: to Mary K. Baxter and Rebecca Brown would be very similar.
[7:33] Speaker 2: With respect to Mary K. Baxter, she claims her ministry
[7:37] Speaker 2: is characterized by miracles and demonstrations of the Holy Spirit.
[7:41] Speaker 2: She claims to dispatch angels to have out of body
[7:45] Speaker 2: experiences to see Holy Spirit as a man on occasion,
[7:49] Speaker 2: but most notoriously, she claims that Jesus gave her a
[7:52] Speaker 2: forty day tour into Hell and later into Heaven. And Hell,
[7:56] Speaker 2: according to Baxter is a place deep within the earth
[8:00] Speaker 2: that's shaped like a human being, where snakes and rats dwell,
[8:03] Speaker 2: and where worms slither through ignited corpses. She's got a
[8:07] Speaker 2: furtile imagination, but again is adding to scripture her own
[8:14] Speaker 2: impressions based on a supposed forty day tour that she
[8:18] Speaker 2: personally got as a result of a relationship with God.
[8:22] Speaker 2: Rebecca Brown, she's very unbalanced as well with respect to
[8:27] Speaker 2: her view of Satan, Satanism, witchcraft, the occult, spiritual warfare,
[8:32] Speaker 2: and the like. She believes that Christians can be demonized.
[8:36] Speaker 2: And our view of Hell is very much like Mary
[8:39] Speaker 2: Kay Baxter's. It's more in common with Dante's Inferno than
[8:44] Speaker 2: the Bible. And again you have Satan and his demons
[8:49] Speaker 2: governing Hell and tormenting the unrighteous, which is not the
[8:53] Speaker 2: picture that we have in Scripture. So that's why you
[8:56] Speaker 2: have to take the subjective experience and test it in
[8:59] Speaker 2: light the objective word of God.
[9:03] Speaker 7: But I think as in the case of these two friends,
[9:07] Speaker 7: they don't really know each other, but it just seems
[9:09] Speaker 7: to me anyway that people are just so drawn to
[9:14] Speaker 7: experience and emotion and you know, doesn't seem to be like,
[9:21] Speaker 7: what scripture can I tell them?
[9:23] Speaker 3: Like?
[9:24] Speaker 7: Is there something like I can back it up to
[9:26] Speaker 7: be able to say, well, look, this is like, for example,
[9:29] Speaker 7: you're saying, like Mary Kay Baxter, she relies on her
[9:31] Speaker 7: experience to bring forth a story. What scripture speaks against
[9:37] Speaker 7: doing that?
[9:38] Speaker 2: Well, think about an experience in Luke chapter sixteen with
[9:42] Speaker 2: the rich man in Lazarus that I was talking about
[9:44] Speaker 2: earlier on the broadcast. The rich man wants to go
[9:48] Speaker 2: back and warn his five brothers that they do not
[9:51] Speaker 2: come to a place like this. What is the enigmatic response?
[9:56] Speaker 2: It is, they have Moses in the prophets. If they
[9:59] Speaker 2: don't believe them, they're not even going to believe if
[10:01] Speaker 2: someone rises from the debt, which is to say, signs
[10:05] Speaker 2: and wonders are not going to convince the unconverted. We
[10:10] Speaker 2: have the scripture, and the scripture is the objective reference point.
[10:16] Speaker 2: It is the north Star. There's nothing wrong with experiences,
[10:21] Speaker 2: there's nothing wrong with subjective experiences. They're wonderful, but they
[10:26] Speaker 2: always have to be tested because experience is notoriously unreliable,
[10:31] Speaker 2: and that's why we always turn to the North Star
[10:34] Speaker 2: as a means by which we test and evaluate the
[10:38] Speaker 2: experiences that we have. First Thessalonians five twenty one, I
[10:41] Speaker 2: think is very helpful as well. Test everything hold fast
[10:45] Speaker 2: to that which is good, or Act seventeen, where you have.
[10:48] Speaker 3: The Bahreans examining.
[10:50] Speaker 2: The scriptures to see if what Paul was teaching was
[10:53] Speaker 2: in fact so. And I have to leave it at that,
[10:56] Speaker 2: coming up to the station breakway right back on the
[10:58] Speaker 2: other side of the break with more of your question.
[11:00] Speaker 1: Every Bible answer Man broadcast, such as the one you're
[11:03] Speaker 1: listening to right now, is made possible through the financial
[11:07] Speaker 1: support of friends like you. Each month, we depend entirely

[11:15] Speaker 1: of the broadcast, podcasts and other resources you rely on.

[11:50] Speaker 1: return shortly with more from Hank Hanagraph. Doctor Evan Alexandra's
[12:05] Speaker 1: wildly popular near death experience book Proof of Heaven assures
[12:09] Speaker 1: us that no matter what we do in this life,
[12:12] Speaker 1: only unconditional love and joy await us in the world
[12:15] Speaker 1: to come. But our Lord warned that while the gate
[12:18] Speaker 1: to Hell is wide, the road to it broad, and
[12:21] Speaker 1: those who enter through it are many, the gate is
[12:24] Speaker 1: narrow and the way is hard that leads to life,
[12:26] Speaker 1: and those who find it are few. Your generous support,
[12:30] Speaker 1: let's Hank Hanograph and see Uri speak out against the
[12:33] Speaker 1: lies that lead to Hell. In appreciation for your gift, today,

[13:01] Speaker 1: been paying attention knows there's a war going on, not
[13:05] Speaker 1: just on traditional morality, civility and decency, but even more
[13:09] Speaker 1: fundamentally on historic notions of truth and the enemy isn't
[13:13] Speaker 1: just the onslaught of fake news, facilitated by a post
[13:16] Speaker 1: truth culture and turbocharged by growing legions of ideological spinductors.
[13:21] Speaker 1: Note the real enemies of truth range from postmodernist convictions
[13:25] Speaker 1: that there is no objective truth to militant scientism that
[13:29] Speaker 1: claims that only science can determine truth and religion is
[13:33] Speaker 1: little more than primitive superstitions. But CRI Support Team members
[13:37] Speaker 1: are not waving a white flag of surrender. They're holding

[14:05] Speaker 1: Has God Spoken? Are the words of Scripture merely human
[14:09] Speaker 1: in origin? Or are they, in fact the very words
[14:12] Speaker 1: of God himself? Three years in the making and based
[14:17] Speaker 1: on two decades of research and reflection, Hank Henagraph's monumental book,
[14:22] Speaker 1: Has God Spoken answers what is surely the most important
[14:25] Speaker 1: question facing our world. In Has God Spoken? Memorable proofs
[14:30] Speaker 1: of the Bible's divine inspiration. Hank counters the contentions of
[14:34] Speaker 1: the Bible attackers and clearly shows that belief in the
[14:37] Speaker 1: Holy Scriptures is not a guess or wishful thinking. It
[14:41] Speaker 1: is the only logical conclusion after an honest examination of
[14:44] Speaker 1: overwhelming evidence. Order has God spoken? From the Christian Research

[15:07] Speaker 1: to the Bible answer Man broadcast and your host and Canagraph.
[15:12] Speaker 2: Thank you very much for Indian right back to the
[15:13] Speaker 2: phone callers. Next up is Peter listening on the web
[15:16] Speaker 2: in West Palm Beach, Florida.
[15:18] Speaker 5: Hi, Peter, Hey, thanks for taking my call.
[15:20] Speaker 3: Hanks, you are welcome.
[15:22] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[15:23] Speaker 6: My question is in light of Galatians five to three,
[15:25] Speaker 6: when he says, I testify again to every man who
[15:28] Speaker 6: accepts circumcision that he's obligated to keep the whole law,
[15:31] Speaker 6: as well as one Corinthians seven eighteen, which says, let
[15:35] Speaker 6: him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was
[15:38] Speaker 6: anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him
[15:40] Speaker 6: not seek circumcision, for neither circumcision counts or anything. So
[15:44] Speaker 6: why would Paul get Timothy circumcised when he told the
[15:48] Speaker 6: Galatians in Chapter two Versus.
[15:53] Speaker 3: Five.
[15:53] Speaker 6: So then we did not yield in submission even for
[15:55] Speaker 6: a moment, so that the truth of the Gospel might
[15:57] Speaker 6: be preserved for you.
[16:00] Speaker 2: Yeah, that takes some explaining. Let me try to unpack
[16:03] Speaker 2: that for you. First of all, let me talk to
[16:05] Speaker 2: the issue of motive, and then I'll get into the
[16:07] Speaker 2: passages themselves. If the motive is to win Jews to Christ,
[16:14] Speaker 2: as was the case with Paul, who said to the Jew,
[16:18] Speaker 2: I became like the Jews to win the Jews, or variously,
[16:23] Speaker 2: I have become all things to all men, so that
[16:27] Speaker 2: by all possible means I might save some. If that's
[16:31] Speaker 2: the motive, it's perfectly acceptable to engage in civil and
[16:37] Speaker 2: ceremonial laws, which are ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Now,
[16:43] Speaker 2: on the other hand, if the motive was to appease
[16:47] Speaker 2: the Judaizers, as is the case in the passage to
[16:51] Speaker 2: which you refer Galatians, the Judaizers were saying obedience to
[16:56] Speaker 2: the law was required for salvation. If that's the motive,
[17:01] Speaker 2: then sacrifices are an abomination ten amount, as Hebrews puts
[17:08] Speaker 2: it to trampling on the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
[17:11] Speaker 2: So what's going on? In Galatians five to two, Paul
[17:14] Speaker 2: tells gentile converts that they will be cut off from
[17:18] Speaker 2: Christ if they allowed themselves to be circumcised because they
[17:22] Speaker 2: are under the influence of Judaizers who are making obedience
[17:27] Speaker 2: to the law necessary for salvation. Now, on the other hand,
[17:32] Speaker 2: and Acts sixteen, Paul has Timothy circumcised for the sake
[17:36] Speaker 2: of witnessing to the Jews. So his motive was witness,
[17:42] Speaker 2: not work's righteousness. So again he is doing this so
[17:48] Speaker 2: that he can reach the very people that the Judaizers
[17:53] Speaker 2: were actually repelling.
[17:56] Speaker 6: Is that what Paul was also doing in Acts twenty
[17:58] Speaker 6: one when he went to the Purification rights and other
[18:02] Speaker 6: people were accusing him of teaching the Jews that they
[18:04] Speaker 6: didn't have to psake Law of Moses. Yeah, okay, So
[18:08] Speaker 6: would that be similar to like me going to a
[18:11] Speaker 6: Roman Catholic church and doing some of their rituals like
[18:15] Speaker 6: penance and stuff like that just try to win some
[18:17] Speaker 6: Roman Catholics.
[18:18] Speaker 2: Well no, I don't think so, remember that what you
[18:21] Speaker 2: have here in the Scripture is a transitional period where
[18:26] Speaker 2: you have a very clear indication of law on the
[18:31] Speaker 2: one hand, and then the fulfillment of the law on
[18:34] Speaker 2: the other. So you had the Jews who were used
[18:38] Speaker 2: to keeping the law, the civil and ceremonial laws, temple priests, sacrifice,
[18:44] Speaker 2: circumcision and the like, all pointing forward to Jesus Christ.
[18:48] Speaker 2: That Jesus Christ had just come, and the apostles are
[18:52] Speaker 2: communicating that Jesus Christ is a substance that fulfills the
[18:56] Speaker 2: type and the shadow. So in context, in this period
[19:00] Speaker 2: of time, Paul wants to use all means possible to
[19:06] Speaker 2: reach the Jews rather than to repel the Jews. So
[19:09] Speaker 2: his motive is evangelism. I don't think that we want
[19:14] Speaker 2: to simply play fast and loose with issues today and say, well,
[19:22] Speaker 2: the reason I'm doing that is I want to reach someone.
[19:25] Speaker 2: If what you are doing to reach is not unlawful,
[19:28] Speaker 2: no problem. But you don't want to go against what's
[19:33] Speaker 2: very clearly articulated in scripture in order to reach someone.
[19:38] Speaker 3: You got it. Thank you so much for your call.
[19:39] Speaker 2: When we go back to the phone lines, we'll talk
[19:41] Speaker 2: next to Mike listening in Saint Louis, Missouri.
[19:43] Speaker 5: Hi, Mike, hi hek, thank you so much for taking
[19:45] Speaker 5: my call, my pleasure, relatively new study of the Bible.
[19:50] Speaker 5: So please excuse the elementary nature of this, Okay, sure,
[19:55] Speaker 5: I'm just curious as to what the relevance of the
[19:57] Speaker 5: Old Testament Mosaic law have as to current day believers
[20:01] Speaker 5: in light of start around the mount where Jesus teaches,
[20:06] Speaker 5: do not think that I have come to destroy the
[20:09] Speaker 5: law of profits. I did not come to destroy, but fulfilled.
[20:12] Speaker 5: And he goes on in eighteen nineteen to get even
[20:15] Speaker 5: more specific with that, so it was just. And then,
[20:18] Speaker 5: of course he expands on the commandments in the next
[20:24] Speaker 5: several verses and talks about the spiritle, the nature in
[20:28] Speaker 5: which his expectations are. And I'm just curious as to
[20:32] Speaker 5: what that means to current day believers.
[20:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, what it means is that we can never keep
[20:38] Speaker 2: the law. And that's why Jesus Christ goes on and says,
[20:44] Speaker 2: you have heard that it was said, and then he
[20:46] Speaker 2: elevates the law to a standard that no one can keep.
[20:51] Speaker 2: It's not just about murdering someone. It's if you have
[20:54] Speaker 2: an angry thought, you're already violating the law. So he
[20:59] Speaker 2: extends the meaning of the law to its logical consequence,
[21:04] Speaker 2: and he is saying to his hearers, no one can
[21:08] Speaker 2: keep that standard, And if you want to be saved
[21:11] Speaker 2: by keeping that standard, you have to be perfect, even
[21:15] Speaker 2: as your heavenly father is perfect. Well, you know, the
[21:18] Speaker 2: hearers of Jesus Christ must have scratched their head and said,
[21:22] Speaker 2: if that is true, who then can be saved? We
[21:25] Speaker 2: can't even keep the mosaic law, much less the extent
[21:30] Speaker 2: to which Jesus Christ takes the law. Well, the answer,
[21:34] Speaker 2: of course is Jesus Christ himself, who is communicating that
[21:37] Speaker 2: he is the fulfillment of the law in the prophets.
[21:41] Speaker 2: The answer being that Jesus Christ did what we could
[21:43] Speaker 2: never do, and that's why we say the Gospels not
[21:48] Speaker 2: d but it's done. It's done through the person and
[21:52] Speaker 2: work of Jesus Christ. He did what we could never do,
[21:56] Speaker 2: so he fulfilled completely the law and the prophets they're
[22:01] Speaker 2: not done away with, They're accomplished in the person and
[22:04] Speaker 2: work of Jesus Christ. Now, as a result of that,
[22:07] Speaker 2: we don't have to keep the civil and ceremonial aspects
[22:10] Speaker 2: of the law that was largely a function of a theocracy,
[22:16] Speaker 2: and it is fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
[22:18] Speaker 3: There are moral aspects of the law, however.
[22:21] Speaker 2: Which we continue to keep, not to be saved, but
[22:26] Speaker 2: they are a way in which order is kept in society.
[22:32] Speaker 2: They're a guide for believers in living out the Christian life.
[22:36] Speaker 2: They are a means of revealing sin and therefore serve
[22:41] Speaker 2: as a schoolmaster to drive us to Jesus Christ, who
[22:44] Speaker 2: alone can keep the law perfectly.
[22:47] Speaker 5: Okay, well that makes sense to me. I mean what
[22:50] Speaker 5: I hear you saying is that, morally speaking, that the
[22:55] Speaker 5: law as it was given, the laws as despective concerning
[23:00] Speaker 5: the amount, morally speaking, weird to continue along that path.
[23:06] Speaker 5: Obviously it has nothing to do with salvation in any way,
[23:10] Speaker 5: but it doesn't exclude us just because He has come
[23:13] Speaker 5: and fulfilled the law of continuing to meet those standards
[23:19] Speaker 5: in those guidelines.
[23:20] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
[23:21] Speaker 2: The civil and ceremonial aspects of the law are fulfilled
[23:24] Speaker 2: in Jesus Christ. The moral aspects of the law are
[23:27] Speaker 2: still significant to society.
[23:30] Speaker 5: Okay, well, thank you so much, Hank.
[23:31] Speaker 2: Hey you got it. Back to the phone lines. Jason
[23:34] Speaker 2: in Illinois, Hi, Jason.
[23:36] Speaker 8: Hey, good listen to your show man. I get a
[23:39] Speaker 8: lot out of it. Thank you, appreciate what you're doing.
[23:42] Speaker 8: Just a question about the translations of the Bible. Someone
[23:45] Speaker 8: mentioned the other day that the Bible was fallible because
[23:49] Speaker 8: of the different translations through the years. What we read
[23:54] Speaker 8: now has well has a lot of error in it.
[23:58] Speaker 8: And they cited two past just in particular one of
[24:02] Speaker 8: them Matthew twenty eight nineteen saying that it did not
[24:05] Speaker 8: say baptizing the name of the Father and of the
[24:08] Speaker 8: Son and the Holy Spirit, but it just simply had
[24:10] Speaker 8: said from the translation baptizing in the name of the Lord.
[24:15] Speaker 8: And then I think he quoted one in First John
[24:17] Speaker 8: about the three that bear record in Heaven. Yeah, he
[24:20] Speaker 8: said that, did not say that that it was added
[24:24] Speaker 8: by the Catholic Church whenever. He didn't really say when.
[24:28] Speaker 8: So I was just wonder what your take was on
[24:30] Speaker 8: the translations and were they infallible and can we use every.
[24:35] Speaker 2: The translations are not infallible, but the translations are wonderful
[24:40] Speaker 2: in that we have all kinds of manuscript evidence that
[24:43] Speaker 2: gives us the ability to compare one copy with another
[24:46] Speaker 2: and get back to the photographer. There are differences in style,
[24:49] Speaker 2: there are no differences in substance. Certainly, if you look
[24:52] Speaker 2: at the NIV, it's a thought for thought translation, or
[24:55] Speaker 2: what we call it dynamic equivalency. If you look at
[24:58] Speaker 2: the NESV or the New King James version, it's more
[25:01] Speaker 2: of a word for word translation, or more of a
[25:05] Speaker 2: formal equivalency. But the point here is simply to say,
[25:10] Speaker 2: in direct answer to your question, first John five' seven
[25:14] Speaker 2: simply is not included in the text because the best
[25:19] Speaker 2: manuscript evidence does not Have First john five seventy, seven
[25:24] Speaker 2: which is called The Kamma.
[25:26] Speaker 3: Johannium as far As.
[25:28] Speaker 2: Matthew twenty eight, nineteen there is no real textual critical
[25:31] Speaker 2: dispute over that particular. Verse, unfortunately out of time for
