On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (06/12/26), Hank brings up that as the summer months come along, people tend to read when they normally would not. He goes over some of the many benefits of reading in general, as well as the importance of reading Scripture. Hank also mentions that June is an important month, as it is the end of the fiscal year for our ministry at the Christian Research Institute, and encourages listeners to support the ministry so that we may continue to touch lives for time and for eternity. Hank also answers the following questions: Deuteronomy 24:1-4 talks about divorce and remarriage, calling illegitimate remarriages an abomination. Is this true for today? Judy - Oklahoma City, OK (4:23) Is it possible to call yourself a believer of Jesus Christ yet not be a disciple? Anna - Tacoma, WA (15:11) Can you explain the different levels of heaven? Anthony - Longview, TX (20:32) What is your understanding of the nature of God? How can one know the nature of God? Reginald - OH (22:13)

[0:27] Speaker 1: hope that you have with gentleness and respect. For more

[0:41] Speaker 1: The following program was pre recorded and now here's Bible
[0:46] Speaker 1: answer Man host Hank Canagraph.
[0:48] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy. Our contact information on the
[0:51] Speaker 2: web equipped dot org and via the mail it's box
[0:55] Speaker 2: eighty five hundred, Charlotte, North Carolina, zip code two eight two.
[1:01] Speaker 2: This month, we're moving into the category of reading. During
[1:05] Speaker 2: the summer, a lot of people do what they don't
[1:08] Speaker 2: normally do, and that is read and we have some
[1:11] Speaker 2: good resources available for those who support the ministry. This
[1:14] Speaker 2: month the Last Disciples series. It's a trilogy, it's historical fiction.
[1:21] Speaker 2: What it does, though, is it gives you a handle
[1:24] Speaker 2: on the logical truth propositions that are part and parcel
[1:29] Speaker 2: of a healthy worldview on eschatology. I think you'll find
[1:34] Speaker 2: the books incredibly insightful, stimulating their page turners. Again available
[1:42] Speaker 2: for those who support the ministry, check it out on
[1:45] Speaker 2: the web at equip dot org. Should also mention that
[1:50] Speaker 2: June is a very significant month in our history. Each
[1:55] Speaker 2: and every year, December is the most critical month, and
[2:00] Speaker 2: lagging not far behind is June. This is the end
[2:04] Speaker 2: of our fiscal year, not obviously the calendar year, but
[2:08] Speaker 2: the fiscal year, and so if you can support the ministry,
[2:11] Speaker 2: it would be deeply appreciated, used for God's glory and
[2:16] Speaker 2: for the extension of his kingdom. Getting back to reading,
[2:20] Speaker 2: the numbers of people not reading is simply staggering, and
[2:25] Speaker 2: I hope that you will become the exception to the rule.
[2:29] Speaker 2: A full quarter of the population did not so much
[2:33] Speaker 2: as read a single book in the past year. But
[2:38] Speaker 2: the good news is that, as with technology, all of
[2:40] Speaker 2: us can get hooked on reading all over again. There
[2:44] Speaker 2: are so many benefits to reading it's hard to know
[2:47] Speaker 2: where to begin. Reading improves discipline, vocabulary, it improves memory, creativity,
[2:56] Speaker 2: and even relaxation. Plus it can even stay off diseases
[3:01] Speaker 2: such as Alzheimer's. More importantly, reading engages you with another mind,
[3:08] Speaker 2: and when it comes to reading Scripture, the implications are
[3:11] Speaker 2: simply staggering. By its words, we are brought into direct
[3:18] Speaker 2: communication with the mind of God. And not only so,
[3:24] Speaker 2: we have access to the minds of writers directly inspired
[3:30] Speaker 2: by the Divine. Thus, in the pages of the inspired
[3:33] Speaker 2: text we have mind to mind connection with minds that
[3:38] Speaker 2: were awash in uncreated energy. Well as much more I
[3:42] Speaker 2: could say about reading, and maybe I will, But we
[3:46] Speaker 2: have a number of books, as I just mentioned available
[3:49] Speaker 2: The Last Disciple trilogy has God spoken Muslim. These books
[3:54] Speaker 2: available as my other books available for those who support
[3:58] Speaker 2: the ministry. All this month, the critical month of June.
[4:03] Speaker 2: It is so important that we achieve a financial stability
[4:09] Speaker 2: as a result of the month of June. Each year
[4:11] Speaker 2: you've given a safe, secure fashion on the web equipped
[4:14] Speaker 2: dot org or as I mentioned, via the mailbox eighty
[4:17] Speaker 2: five hundred Charlotte, North Carolina, zip code two eight two
[4:21] Speaker 2: seven to one. Let's go to the phone lines. Judy
[4:24] Speaker 2: listening in Oklahoma.
[4:26] Speaker 3: Hi, Judy, Hi, thank you for taking my call. It
[4:30] Speaker 3: was told to me to call the babl answer man
[4:32] Speaker 3: to get the solution to our discussion here. In Duterominy
[4:36] Speaker 3: twenty four, it talks about a couple being married, the
[4:40] Speaker 3: husband divorces the wife, he remarries another, and it says like,
[4:45] Speaker 3: if she dies or they divorce, he's not allowed to
[4:49] Speaker 3: go back and marry the original spouse because that was
[4:53] Speaker 3: an abomination to God. So is that true for today?
[4:58] Speaker 2: Is that?
[4:59] Speaker 3: Just are we under grace that God redeems and forgives
[5:04] Speaker 3: or for the abomination is a huge word.
[5:06] Speaker 2: So well, there's a historical context, and you're right in
[5:10] Speaker 2: pointing that out divorce was wide spread in the ancient
[5:14] Speaker 2: Near East, and therefore the commands given in Deuteronomy were
[5:19] Speaker 2: given in order to regulate an existing practice. And in
[5:24] Speaker 2: the context, remarried to her former husband would be tenemount
[5:30] Speaker 2: to legal adultery, and therefore it was detestable to the Lord.
[5:36] Speaker 2: But if you look at what Jesus Christ says in
[5:40] Speaker 2: the Sermon on the Mount, it has said anyone who
[5:44] Speaker 2: divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.
[5:47] Speaker 2: But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife
[5:51] Speaker 2: except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress
[5:57] Speaker 2: and anyone who marries divorced woman commits adultery, gives you
[6:04] Speaker 2: the intent of what the law was. And furthermore, Jesus
[6:09] Speaker 2: Christ makes clear that what's going on is a detestable
[6:14] Speaker 2: practice for the reason that men would put away women
[6:20] Speaker 2: for any or every reason. In other words, they use
[6:25] Speaker 2: the lever right law. They used the laws given within
[6:30] Speaker 2: the context of an ancient theocratic kingdom as the basis
[6:34] Speaker 2: to do what they wanted to do. So it was
[6:37] Speaker 2: tantamount to tithing your mint, but neglecting the way to
[6:40] Speaker 2: your matters of the law, justice, righteousness, and equity. And
[6:44] Speaker 2: that's what really is at the heart of this. We
[6:47] Speaker 2: are not to see the other sex as an object
[6:51] Speaker 2: for our own enjoyment or use some kind of legalistic
[6:57] Speaker 2: prescription to do what we want, but we are to
[7:00] Speaker 2: treat another person self lesslie as opposed to selfishly. So
[7:06] Speaker 2: there's an intent behind the law. The law originally to
[7:11] Speaker 2: protect a woman in the Old Testament, but ultimately to
[7:15] Speaker 2: subscribe to that which the Bible ultimately appeals to, and
[7:19] Speaker 2: that is complete ontological equality and not the abuse of
[7:24] Speaker 2: another person.
[7:26] Speaker 3: Okay, So is that just are we under grace now
[7:31] Speaker 3: that that can happen or you know, like if they repented,
[7:36] Speaker 3: got right with the Lord, wanted to get the original
[7:40] Speaker 3: family intact, are they allowed to do that or not?
[7:43] Speaker 2: Well, if in fact there is a door to reconciliation
[7:48] Speaker 2: that is open, yes, we must always walk through the
[7:51] Speaker 2: door of reconciliation because that is the ultimate goal. The
[7:56] Speaker 2: ultimate goal is reconciliation. Reconciliation always requires two parties. There's
[8:03] Speaker 2: someone who is willing to forgive and someone wanting to
[8:06] Speaker 2: be forgiven, and so that is the ultimate good that
[8:10] Speaker 2: we should always strive towards. And there are some cases
[8:13] Speaker 2: in which that door to reconciliation simply isn't open, and
[8:17] Speaker 2: that is because someone has married someone else and then
[8:20] Speaker 2: unscrambling the egg leads to a multiplicity of problems.
[8:26] Speaker 3: Right, So I can see that. And I didn't know
[8:29] Speaker 3: if it was like in the Old Testament that they
[8:31] Speaker 3: didn't want wife swapping, you know, back and forth to this.
[8:35] Speaker 3: But I thought, well, if if a wife was never
[8:38] Speaker 3: married again and the other marriage ended, I just didn't
[8:42] Speaker 3: know if that would be an abomination to God in
[8:44] Speaker 3: this day and age to consider that.
[8:48] Speaker 2: So the question becomes, you get divorced, and the question
[8:53] Speaker 2: is is an abomination to get remarried to.
[8:57] Speaker 3: The original one if at the marriage that he was
[9:01] Speaker 3: in doesn't work out.
[9:04] Speaker 2: Well, again, there's a whole lot of conjecture there. I mean,
[9:08] Speaker 2: there's a lot of explaining to do. Why did the
[9:10] Speaker 2: marriage not work out? Ultimately, the intent here is love
[9:17] Speaker 2: and reconciliation as opposed to using every reason possible to
[9:24] Speaker 2: do something that becomes selfish instead of self less. I mean,
[9:29] Speaker 2: that's the intent. So the intent is the protection of
[9:32] Speaker 2: a person. But you can't look at a situation where
[9:35] Speaker 2: a man is married to a woman, then the man
[9:37] Speaker 2: gets out of that marriage and marries the original person
[9:40] Speaker 2: that they were married to. That's the metaphor I was
[9:43] Speaker 2: using with respect to unscrambling the egg, which can't do.
[9:47] Speaker 2: So if someone gets a divorce, that's one mistake. They
[9:53] Speaker 2: get remarried. Now they're going to compound the error by
[9:57] Speaker 2: getting divorced again and marrying the original person. No, you
[10:02] Speaker 2: have to move on and be faithful to the commitment
[10:05] Speaker 2: that you have at that point.
[10:08] Speaker 3: Okay, Well, if I, like you know, said in the Bible,
[10:11] Speaker 3: if that.
[10:11] Speaker 2: Spouse dies, well, if that spouse dies, I mean that's
[10:15] Speaker 2: why I said, there's a lot explaining to do. There
[10:17] Speaker 2: are a lot of converging factors that are possible. Certainly,
[10:20] Speaker 2: if that spouse dies, it would not be an abomination
[10:25] Speaker 2: if the Lord led you to get remarried to the
[10:27] Speaker 2: original person, you know, in other words, if there's no
[10:31] Speaker 2: obstacle in the way morally or ethically in doing that.
[10:36] Speaker 2: I don't see anything that would preclude that. But I
[10:39] Speaker 2: do think that that has to be done in concert
[10:42] Speaker 2: with prayerful consideration before the Lord and good counseling within
[10:46] Speaker 2: the context of a healthy, well bounced church.
[10:49] Speaker 3: Right, all right, well, thank you, I appreciate it.
[10:52] Speaker 2: You got it. Thank you so much for your call
[10:55] Speaker 2: coming to the station. Break will be right back.
[10:57] Speaker 1: In our post truth age of confus usion, the need
[11:00] Speaker 1: for Christians to be equipped with answers has never been greater.
[11:04] Speaker 1: The Christian Research Institute exists to provide those answers, and
[11:08] Speaker 1: this provision is made possible only by people like you,
[11:12] Speaker 1: people unafraid to stand up for truth while it's under assault.
[11:16] Speaker 1: People like you, whose contributions to our many outreaches are

[12:13] Speaker 1: half a million copies already in print, this newly revised
[12:17] Speaker 1: and expanded Collector's Edition helped seekers and skeptics alike sort

[13:02] Speaker 1: of Stalingrad. It appeared at first the Nazi war machine
[13:06] Speaker 1: would secure the victory, but the Soviets battled back from
[13:09] Speaker 1: near certain defeat with extraordinary courage and resoluteness to turn
[13:14] Speaker 1: the tide of the battle and ultimately the war. The
[13:17] Speaker 1: lesson is that both men and material people and provisions
[13:22] Speaker 1: played a critical role. Willingness to fight and munitions in
[13:25] Speaker 1: the arsenal were pivotal. Our contemporary battle for truth against
[13:30] Speaker 1: anti Christian secularists raises the stakes above the significance of Stalingrad.
[13:36] Speaker 1: CRII likewise needs military partners willing to stand for truth,
[13:40] Speaker 1: along with the financial means to accomplish the mission. Stand

[14:05] Speaker 1: Has God spoken? Are the words of Scripture merely human
[14:09] Speaker 1: in origin? Or are they in fact the very words
[14:12] Speaker 1: of God himself. Three years in the making and based
[14:17] Speaker 1: on two decades of research and reflection, Hank Henagraph's monumental
[14:21] Speaker 1: book Has God Spoken answers what is surely the most
[14:25] Speaker 1: important question facing our world. In Has God Spoken? Memorable
[14:30] Speaker 1: proofs of the Bible's Divine inspiration, Hank counters the contentions
[14:34] Speaker 1: of the Bible attackers and clearly shows that belief in
[14:37] Speaker 1: the Holy Scriptures is not a guess or wishful thinking.
[14:40] Speaker 1: It is the only logical conclusion after an honest examination
[14:44] Speaker 1: of overwhelming evidence. Order Has God Spoken? From the Christian
[14:49] Speaker 1: Research Institute by calling eighty eight seven thousand CRII, or
[14:53] Speaker 1: go online to equip dot org. Equip dot org and
[15:07] Speaker 1: now here's Hank Anagraph.
[15:09] Speaker 2: Thank you, Randy. Back to the phone lines. Ana next
[15:12] Speaker 2: listening in Tacoma, Washington, Hyannah.
[15:17] Speaker 4: Hi, Hank, thank you for taking my call pleasure. I
[15:20] Speaker 4: just have a quick question. Is it possible to call
[15:24] Speaker 4: yourself a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ, but yet
[15:28] Speaker 4: not be a disciple.
[15:30] Speaker 2: No, I don't think it is possible, And I think
[15:32] Speaker 2: that if you understand what discipleship is, a disciple is
[15:37] Speaker 2: a learner or a follower of Jesus Christ. And this
[15:43] Speaker 2: does not just entail understanding truth propositions about Christ. It
[15:49] Speaker 2: means that you follow him in his manner of life,
[15:53] Speaker 2: which means that you embrace the disciplines that Christ embraced.
[15:58] Speaker 2: So if Christ fasted, we should fast. If Christ talked
[16:04] Speaker 2: about giving alms to the poor and exemplified that very
[16:09] Speaker 2: thing in his own ministry, we ought to do the
[16:12] Speaker 2: same thing. In other words, we need to partake of
[16:15] Speaker 2: the graces that God gives us, to partake of, graces
[16:20] Speaker 2: by which we are transformed, and graces by which we
[16:24] Speaker 2: become transformational, meaning that we can transform the world as well.
[16:29] Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean a disciple as a learner or
[16:32] Speaker 2: follower of Jesus Christ. And if we simply give lip
[16:37] Speaker 2: service to believing things about Christ but don't embrace his
[16:42] Speaker 2: manner of life, then we are hardly truly followers of
[16:46] Speaker 2: Christ or believers.
[16:50] Speaker 4: And that's kind of the way that I perceived it.
[16:54] Speaker 4: I had been hearing certain teachers that tend to be
[16:56] Speaker 4: more of that hyper grace teachers insinuating that it's possible
[17:02] Speaker 4: to have a mental belief in Jesus yet not you know,
[17:06] Speaker 4: have to follow him and not have to learn of
[17:08] Speaker 4: him and not have to you know, everything that you
[17:11] Speaker 4: just mentioned earlier, don't have to do any of that.
[17:13] Speaker 4: All you have to do is in your mind, just
[17:15] Speaker 4: believe in Jesus. And it's never set well with me.
[17:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, and it ought not to set well with you.
[17:23] Speaker 2: And this is part of the cheap grace kind of
[17:26] Speaker 2: pandemonium that we have in Christianity, where you pray a
[17:30] Speaker 2: prayer and then you have a card that keeps you
[17:34] Speaker 2: out of hell and gets you into heaven, but your
[17:36] Speaker 2: life doesn't change. I mean, if you're a follower of
[17:39] Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, your life will be transformed because you will
[17:43] Speaker 2: be in the spiritual gymnasium. You will gymnasize yourself, as
[17:49] Speaker 2: Paul said to Timothy, unto godliness. So we want to
[17:53] Speaker 2: embrace the life of Christ. And Christ had twelve followers.
[17:59] Speaker 2: They were with him, and Christ modeled how to live
[18:02] Speaker 2: the Christian life, and therefore they were legitimately called his disciples.
[18:08] Speaker 4: It's right, well, thank you, Hank. That that kind of
[18:11] Speaker 4: affirms to me because that's what I had experienced in
[18:13] Speaker 4: my own life as a radical transformation of my life.
[18:17] Speaker 4: You know, after coming to Christ and being born again
[18:20] Speaker 4: and I'm seeing a lot of theology.
[18:23] Speaker 2: That is.
[18:25] Speaker 4: I've even heard people say that you're a false convert
[18:28] Speaker 4: if you say that your life has been changed since
[18:31] Speaker 4: you know, coming to Christ. So there's a lot of confusion.
[18:34] Speaker 4: But I was pretty sure from reading the scriptures myself
[18:37] Speaker 4: and from what my own experience was, that that was
[18:40] Speaker 4: truly false.
[18:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, And you know, Paul, and it makes a distinction
[18:44] Speaker 2: between dead works and living works. So if you engage
[18:49] Speaker 2: in works the flesh, the kinds of works that Paul
[18:53] Speaker 2: talks about in Glatians chapter five, that obviously is not good.
[18:58] Speaker 2: And dead works can even be works that are good
[19:01] Speaker 2: in nature, but they're done for the wrong reason. In
[19:05] Speaker 2: other words, they're done out of a selfish motive. And
[19:08] Speaker 2: that's why God looks at the heart. We see the
[19:11] Speaker 2: outer appearance. God looks at the heart. So dead works
[19:15] Speaker 2: are spoken out against voluminously in scripture. Living works, however,
[19:22] Speaker 2: these are works that are done which are not only
[19:28] Speaker 2: done for a good purpose, but they are good works
[19:31] Speaker 2: in and of themselves. And this is the kind of
[19:34] Speaker 2: work that Scripture commends. I mean, you think about Jesus
[19:38] Speaker 2: saying that if you give a piece of bread and
[19:41] Speaker 2: a cup of water in his name. Then you've done
[19:44] Speaker 2: that unto him. If you've done that to someone else
[19:47] Speaker 2: one of the least you've done it unto Jesus. Well,
[19:51] Speaker 2: that's a great commendation, not only too mouth a particular
[19:57] Speaker 2: set of beliefs, but it is to actually put those
[20:00] Speaker 2: beliefs in practice. And that's why James is pretty strong
[20:04] Speaker 2: about this. He's talking about the fact that you know
[20:07] Speaker 2: that if you have faith without works, then that faith
[20:11] Speaker 2: ends up being dead faith because true faith always manifests
[20:15] Speaker 2: itself in the works.
[20:17] Speaker 1: That you do.
[20:20] Speaker 4: Yep, I agree. Well, thank you for taking that call.
[20:23] Speaker 4: I appreciate it and I'll be praying for you. Hank.
[20:26] Speaker 2: Thank you, and it was a pleasure talking to you.
[20:30] Speaker 2: Thank you. Back to the phone as we'll talk to
[20:32] Speaker 2: Anthony listening in Longview, Texas by Anthony Hank.
[20:36] Speaker 5: How are you doing today?
[20:37] Speaker 2: I'm good.
[20:38] Speaker 5: I got a question specifically about the Second Caribbean, Chapter two,
[20:42] Speaker 5: verse two, and the question is he says, am you
[20:45] Speaker 5: man fourteen years ago, and who was called up to
[20:47] Speaker 5: the third level of heaven and the just the fact
[20:51] Speaker 5: that there's levels of heaven is kind of beyond me.
[20:55] Speaker 5: If maybe you can elaborate a little bit and kind
[20:57] Speaker 5: of explain to me the different levels of heaven.
[20:59] Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's not different levels of heaven, it's different
[21:03] Speaker 2: ways in which heaven is used in the text of scripture.
[21:06] Speaker 2: And so you can think about the first heaven is
[21:08] Speaker 2: the atmosphere which surrounds the earth. The reason I say
[21:12] Speaker 2: that is Job points out that the frost in the
[21:15] Speaker 2: wind come from heaven, and Deuteronomy says that the dew
[21:19] Speaker 2: comes from heaven, and Psalm says that clouds are in
[21:23] Speaker 2: the heavens. And then you can think of the second
[21:26] Speaker 2: heaven as the celestial heavens, where the heavens are the
[21:30] Speaker 2: realm of the sun, the moon, the stars, which God
[21:34] Speaker 2: placed in the heavens. We see that in Genesis chapter one.
[21:38] Speaker 2: But the third heaven that's in view, and I think
[21:41] Speaker 2: the passage is Tewod Corinthiers chapter twelve. The third heaven
[21:45] Speaker 2: that is in view is the dwelling place of God,
[21:48] Speaker 2: and that's what's in view when Jesus taught us to
[21:51] Speaker 2: pray our Father, which art in heaven. So that's the idea,
[21:57] Speaker 2: and that's in essence what happens when we die. We're
[22:01] Speaker 2: absent from the body, we're present with the Lord, and
[22:05] Speaker 2: so we're in the realm of God, in the dwelling
[22:08] Speaker 2: place of God until the time that Jesus appears the
[22:12] Speaker 2: second time. Reginald. Next he's listening in ohio. Hi, Reginald, Hi, Hey.
[22:19] Speaker 6: Thank you take it by call. What is your understand
[22:23] Speaker 6: of the nature of God? How do one know that
[22:27] Speaker 6: nature of God?
[22:28] Speaker 2: Yeah? You know what's interesting about that, Reginald, is you
[22:32] Speaker 2: know that because not only did the Church pass on
[22:39] Speaker 2: the letters of the Great Apostles, so that we have
[22:42] Speaker 2: a corpus of twenty seven books ultimately ratified in Church history,
[22:49] Speaker 2: codified formally in three sixty seven by Athanasius the Great.
[22:56] Speaker 2: So not only we to have that, but we also
[22:58] Speaker 2: have proper interpretition of the scriptures passed down for us.
[23:04] Speaker 2: And those proper interpretations with respect to the nature of
[23:08] Speaker 2: God are amplified, they're underscored in the great ecumenical councils.
[23:15] Speaker 2: Some of the early Church fathers talked about those ecumenical councils,
[23:21] Speaker 2: particularly the First four, which developed Christology and Trinitarian theology.
[23:27] Speaker 2: They talked about those councils in the same breath as
[23:30] Speaker 2: talking about the Four Gospels. So these are important truths
[23:35] Speaker 2: that have been passed down and hammered out on the
[23:39] Speaker 2: envil of history. And I don't think in the twenty
[23:42] Speaker 2: first century we ought to be redefining that the Church
[23:47] Speaker 2: passed on not only the books of the Bible, but
[23:50] Speaker 2: passed on a proper way of reading the books of
[23:54] Speaker 2: the Bible. And I think we ought to take that seriously.
[23:58] Speaker 6: Okay, So that's like you myself come to agreement. Is
[24:05] Speaker 6: that what it is? It's fine by the Holy Spirit.
[24:08] Speaker 2: Well, no, I think that what we have is we
[24:11] Speaker 2: have the treasure trove of history where godly men that
[24:16] Speaker 2: were anointed to give us the corpus of scripture also
[24:20] Speaker 2: gave us a proper interpretation with respect to scripture. And
[24:25] Speaker 2: I think the problem today is that we oftentimes succumb
[24:30] Speaker 2: to a wide ranging cornucopia, if you will, of people
[24:37] Speaker 2: who are coming up with new interpretations in our epic
[24:41] Speaker 2: of time. And I think that's a huge, huge mistake.
[24:44] Speaker 2: I think what we need to do is go back
[24:47] Speaker 2: and see not only the books that God has given
[24:50] Speaker 2: us and read those in a sanctified sense, but also
[24:55] Speaker 2: we need the wisdom to understand what we're reading. You
[24:58] Speaker 2: think about Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch. Philip asked the
[25:02] Speaker 2: Ethiopian eunuch, do you understand what you're reading? And what
[25:06] Speaker 2: did the eunuch say? How can I unless someone teach me?
[25:09] Speaker 4: So?
[25:09] Speaker 2: There are hard things in scripture, things that are hard
[25:12] Speaker 2: to understand. And I think we are very blessed that
[25:16] Speaker 2: we have historically a legacy that we can follow, and
[25:21] Speaker 2: that legacy has been found to be tried and true,
[25:25] Speaker 2: particularly when it comes to the essential of the historic
[25:28] Speaker 2: Christian faith. And as I said earlier, no greater essential
[25:31] Speaker 2: than having a proper grasp of the nature of God.
[25:36] Speaker 2: Virtually every single theological heresy begins with the misconception of
[25:40] Speaker 2: nature of God. Thanks for the conversation, Reginald. We are
