[0:15] Speaker 1: We're on the air because life and truth matter. The
[0:18] Speaker 1: mission of the Christian Research Institute is to equip believers
[0:22] Speaker 1: to always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
[0:25] Speaker 1: who asks you, to give the reason for the hope
[0:27] Speaker 1: that you have with gentleness and respect. For more information

[0:41] Speaker 1: The following program was pre recorded and now here's Bible
[0:46] Speaker 1: answer Man host Hank Canagraph.
[0:48] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy. It is a delight to
[0:50] Speaker 2: be in studio as we answer your questions throughout the
[0:54] Speaker 2: United States and Canada. I want to say just a
[0:56] Speaker 2: few words before we go to our callers. Doing a
[1:00] Speaker 2: lot of research over the last couple of days, and
[1:03] Speaker 2: in the process I have been watching Bill Maher and
[1:07] Speaker 2: he says some of the most amazing things, including the
[1:13] Speaker 2: Bible was not meant to be history. It was not
[1:19] Speaker 2: meant to be literal. They were parables. People read it
[1:25] Speaker 2: back then and read into it something that was not literal.
[1:32] Speaker 2: We're the dummies who read it literally. Well, is he right?
[1:39] Speaker 2: Is the Bible merely parabolic? Is it true that the
[1:46] Speaker 2: Bible was not meant as history? Well, Interestingly enough, the
[1:52] Speaker 2: answer is found in the word genre. Grasping genre or
[2:00] Speaker 2: form is crucial in understanding what a text means by
[2:06] Speaker 2: what the text says. In other words, to interpret the
[2:11] Speaker 2: Bible as literature, it's always crucial to consider the kind
[2:18] Speaker 2: of literature that you are interpreting. Where visionary imagery is
[2:24] Speaker 2: the governing genre, it's foolhardy to interpret literalistically. On the
[2:31] Speaker 2: other hand, where historical narrative is pre eminent, it is
[2:36] Speaker 2: imperative not to over spiritualize. Bill Maher is right to
[2:45] Speaker 2: associate parables with the Bible, but to do so exclusively
[2:51] Speaker 2: is absurd. Of course, no one applied the power of
[2:58] Speaker 2: parable with greater effect than Jesus. In Luke sixteen, he
[3:03] Speaker 2: chronicled the parable of a rich man and a beggar
[3:06] Speaker 2: named Lazarus, who was covered with sores and longing to
[3:10] Speaker 2: eat what fell from the rich man's table, and time
[3:15] Speaker 2: both died, their roles immediately reversed, the beggar found himself
[3:22] Speaker 2: comforted in Abraham's bosomed the rich man experiencing the foretaste
[3:29] Speaker 2: of eternal torment. Too late he paid attention to the
[3:35] Speaker 2: beggar lying by his gait. Too late, a postponed repentance.
[3:43] Speaker 2: Too late, he heeded the testimony, the law and the prophets.
[3:48] Speaker 2: Too late, too late, too late, Like a heat seeking missile,
[3:56] Speaker 2: the parable of Jesus Christ always hit its mark. Hopefully
[4:03] Speaker 2: the heart of a punmeister will be next. The point
[4:07] Speaker 2: here is to acknowledge that the Bibles replete with parables,
[4:10] Speaker 2: but that is hardly the extent of the matter. Scripture
[4:15] Speaker 2: is a treasure chest that abounds in literary genres, genres
[4:20] Speaker 2: ranging from poetry to psalms, to historical narratives, didactic epistles,
[4:27] Speaker 2: apocalyptic revelations. We must see the Bible once again as
[4:31] Speaker 2: a treasure chest. Tragically, our postmodern culture does not appreciate
[4:38] Speaker 2: literature the way our ancestors did. We do science well,
[4:44] Speaker 2: but we don't do literature well. We know how to
[4:47] Speaker 2: read Sagan and Dawkins, but seem ill equipped to read
[4:54] Speaker 2: Shakespeare and Dante. One must, ever, remember that the language
[4:58] Speaker 2: of Scripture is a heavenly cunduce, so that we might
[5:01] Speaker 2: apprehend both the nature and purposes of an infinite God.
[5:07] Speaker 2: Failure to consider genre leads to a host of unintended consequences.
[5:13] Speaker 2: This is particularly so when it comes to apocalyptic portions
[5:17] Speaker 2: of the Bible. When Jesus says that the stars are
[5:21] Speaker 2: going to fall from the sky, he hardly intends to
[5:24] Speaker 2: be taken literally. One star, of course, would obliterate the earth,
[5:29] Speaker 2: let alone a hundred billion stars. Instead, the heir to
[5:34] Speaker 2: the linguistic riches of the Old Testament prophets in a
[5:37] Speaker 2: greater Propheit than them all used the symbolism of stars
[5:41] Speaker 2: to pronounce judgment within his own generation. Failure to consider
[5:46] Speaker 2: genre might lead to laughs in a comedy routine, but
[5:52] Speaker 2: from an eternal perspective, the effect is not nearly as funny.
[5:58] Speaker 2: And of course we have to look at life with
[6:01] Speaker 2: eternity in mind. If we do, the consequences are life
[6:09] Speaker 2: with a savior. If we don't, the consequences of the
[6:15] Speaker 2: rich man found out are sheer torment. Only two kinds
[6:21] Speaker 2: of people in the world, those who follow Christ and
[6:25] Speaker 2: those who deny Christ, those who are Christians and those
[6:30] Speaker 2: who are anti Christians. Which one are you? And if
[6:35] Speaker 2: you are a Christian, are you committed to making your
[6:39] Speaker 2: life count for time and for eternity. One of the
[6:42] Speaker 2: ways you can do that is to join with this
[6:45] Speaker 2: ministry in making a difference. You can join the support team.
[6:51] Speaker 2: When you do, I'll send you a copy of the
[6:54] Speaker 2: Complete Bible answer Book Collector's Edition, personalized to you as
[6:59] Speaker 2: my way saying thank you. Check it out on the
[7:02] Speaker 2: webit equipped dot work has always resource consultants standing by
[7:06] Speaker 2: Triple eight seven thousand and the letters. See all right,
[7:10] Speaker 2: let's go right to the phone lines. Now we'll talk
[7:13] Speaker 2: first to Allan. He's listening in Oklahoma. Hi, Allen, Hey,
[7:16] Speaker 2: how you doing good?
[7:17] Speaker 3: Are you not too bad?
[7:21] Speaker 4: Fually?
[7:21] Speaker 3: A simple question concerning In First Corinthians, Chapter three, UH
[7:27] Speaker 3: verses ten through fifteen, Paul talks about landa foundation which
[7:31] Speaker 3: is Christ and that builders can come and build on it,
[7:34] Speaker 3: that they should be careful on what materials they use
[7:37] Speaker 3: because they'll be tested with fire. And knowes that we
[7:41] Speaker 3: stand the fire will receive their reward, but the one
[7:46] Speaker 3: of the fires destroy the builders will suffer loss. They
[7:50] Speaker 3: yet be say that as even though only as escaping
[7:54] Speaker 3: through the fire. What does that mean?
[7:56] Speaker 2: What Paul is doing here is illustrating the reality that
[7:59] Speaker 2: there are some Christians who will be resurrected with precious
[8:03] Speaker 2: little to show for the time they spend on earth.
[8:06] Speaker 2: They'll be, as Paul said, saved, but only as one
[8:09] Speaker 2: escaping through the flames. So Christ, whose eyes are like
[8:14] Speaker 2: blazing fire in the metaphor, is going to incinerate the
[8:18] Speaker 2: work of those who build monuments to themselves, those who
[8:22] Speaker 2: used wood, hay or straw. On the other hand, those
[8:27] Speaker 2: who built selflessly upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. And
[8:31] Speaker 2: that's why he starts out by saying, no one can
[8:33] Speaker 2: lay any other foundation other than the one already laid,
[8:36] Speaker 2: which is Jesus Christ. Those who build on that foundation,
[8:40] Speaker 2: using gold, silver, and costly stones, will receive enduring rewards.
[8:46] Speaker 2: The point here is that what we do now counts
[8:49] Speaker 2: for all eternity. Let's go back to the phone lines. Now,
[8:51] Speaker 2: talk to Duncan. He's listening in High River, Alberta, Canada.
[8:55] Speaker 2: High Duncan, Hello, Hank, are good, thank you.
[9:00] Speaker 4: But my question is in regards to the definition of
[9:04] Speaker 4: praying in the spirit. I tend to Pentecostal style of church,
[9:12] Speaker 4: I suppose, and it is I didn't grow up in
[9:15] Speaker 4: that and this teaching that I'm learning recently is it
[9:20] Speaker 4: seems a little bit odd to me, and the way
[9:23] Speaker 4: I understand praying in the spirit is praying as led
[9:27] Speaker 4: by the Holy Spirit, which is completely different from what
[9:30] Speaker 4: I'm being taught, and I just would like to get
[9:34] Speaker 4: to get your idea on that.
[9:36] Speaker 5: Please.
[9:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's important to recognize that this is
[9:40] Speaker 2: something that Paul includes a Ethesians chapter six, verses ten
[9:46] Speaker 2: through twenty as the full armor of God, and what
[9:50] Speaker 2: he's saying there is to pray in the spirit is
[9:54] Speaker 2: to recognize the sovereignty of God over every detail of
[9:57] Speaker 2: our lives. So an effect, you're saying, thank God, this
[10:01] Speaker 2: world is under his control, not mine. Furthermore, to pray
[10:06] Speaker 2: in the spirit on all occasions is to take up
[10:09] Speaker 2: the sword of the Spirit. What is the sword of
[10:12] Speaker 2: the spirit is the Word of God delineated once again
[10:15] Speaker 2: as that in Ephesian six, but certainly throughout the Bible
[10:20] Speaker 2: as well. And then, finally, to pray in the Spirit
[10:23] Speaker 2: on all occasions means to continually meditate on the Word
[10:28] Speaker 2: of God. Meditating on the Word of God is the
[10:31] Speaker 2: missing link between the intake of scripture and an effective
[10:36] Speaker 2: prayer life. So praying in the spirit is inextricably woven
[10:41] Speaker 2: together with having intimacy with Jesus Christ, having intimacy with God,
[10:47] Speaker 2: which is precisely what prayer is all about. So often
[10:51] Speaker 2: we see prayer as a laundry list of requests or supplications,
[10:56] Speaker 2: but prayers more than that. Prayer is developed intimacy with
[11:01] Speaker 2: the lover of your soul will be right back.
[11:03] Speaker 1: The famous British apologist G. K. Chesterton once noted, the
[11:07] Speaker 1: true soldier fights not because he hates what is in
[11:10] Speaker 1: front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.
[11:13] Speaker 1: Because at CRII we love what is behind us, our faith,
[11:17] Speaker 1: our families, and our freedoms. We will never retreat quietly
[11:21] Speaker 1: from the growing assaults on life and truth, even when
[11:24] Speaker 1: the costs are great. We will stand to join like

[11:51] Speaker 1: Hank Canigraph will return in a few.
[11:53] Speaker 6: Moments Hank Hanigraph has dedicated his life to defending truth.
[12:04] Speaker 6: Because Truth Matters. Yet, an encounter with Christians in the
[12:07] Speaker 6: underground Church of China left Hanograph contemplating his Christian experience.
[12:12] Speaker 6: They were experiencing something beyond truth. They were experiencing life.
[12:17] Speaker 6: Truth matters. Life Matters More by Hank Hanigraph is two
[12:20] Speaker 6: books in one. Because Truth Matters. Part one equips Christians
[12:24] Speaker 6: to defend the essential truths of the historic Christian faith.
[12:27] Speaker 6: In Part two, Hank explains why life matters more and

[13:01] Speaker 1: Anyone who's been paying attention knows there's a war going on,
[13:04] Speaker 1: not just on traditional morality, civility and decency, but even
[13:09] Speaker 1: more fundamentally on historic notions of truth and The enemy
[13:12] Speaker 1: isn't just the onslaught of fake news, facilitated by a
[13:16] Speaker 1: post truth culture and turbocharged by growing legions of ideological spinductors.
[13:21] Speaker 1: Note the real enemies of truth range from postmodernist convictions
[13:25] Speaker 1: that there is no objective truth to militant scientism that
[13:29] Speaker 1: claims that only science can determine truth and religion is
[13:33] Speaker 1: little more than primitive superstitions. But CRI Support Team members
[13:37] Speaker 1: are not waving a white flag of surrender. They're holding

[14:05] Speaker 1: Has God Spoken? Are the words of Scripture merely human
[14:09] Speaker 1: in origin? Or are they in fact the very words
[14:12] Speaker 1: of God himself? Three years in the making and based
[14:17] Speaker 1: on two decades of research and reflection, Hank Henagraph's monumental
[14:21] Speaker 1: book Has God Spoken answers what is surely the most
[14:25] Speaker 1: important question facing our world. In Has God Spoken? Memorable
[14:30] Speaker 1: proofs of the Bible's divine inspiration, Hank counters the contentions
[14:34] Speaker 1: of the Bible attackers and clearly shows that belief in
[14:37] Speaker 1: the Holy Scriptures is not a guess or wishful thinking.
[14:40] Speaker 1: It is the only logical conclusion after an honest examination

[15:11] Speaker 1: and canagraph.
[15:12] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy, and again back to our
[15:14] Speaker 2: phone callers. Next up is Jim. He is listening in Washington.
[15:18] Speaker 2: Hi Jim, Hi, Hank, Hank.
[15:21] Speaker 7: I've got a question on a couple of ministries and
[15:24] Speaker 7: that I've recently started listening to, and I have a
[15:28] Speaker 7: lot of respect for CRI's research, and I just wanted
[15:31] Speaker 7: to get your thoughts. One is Joseph Prince and the
[15:36] Speaker 7: other is Joyce Myers. And I've recently started listening to
[15:40] Speaker 7: these and you know, I enjoy him. You know I
[15:44] Speaker 7: enjoy some of their programs. What are your thoughts on those?
[15:48] Speaker 2: Well? First of all, Joseph Prince is a classic Word
[15:52] Speaker 2: of Faith teacher, and so I don't recommend his ministry.
[15:56] Speaker 2: I've been to Singapore, and here's a guy that's talking
[16:00] Speaker 2: about all kinds of miraculous healings of cancers and tumors
[16:04] Speaker 2: and kidney conditions and aids and much much more. But
[16:08] Speaker 2: the reality is these kinds of miracles are conspicuous by
[16:13] Speaker 2: their absence. And I can say that categorically because I've
[16:17] Speaker 2: done quite a bout of research over the last twenty years.
[16:20] Speaker 2: I talk about this in a book called Christianity in
[16:22] Speaker 2: Crisis twenty first century. And what you find is a
[16:26] Speaker 2: lot of bravado but very little evidence. Where do you
[16:31] Speaker 2: ever see in the ministry of Joseph Prince a man
[16:34] Speaker 2: that comes in with an amputated leg that walks out
[16:38] Speaker 2: with a brand new leg. You never see that kind
[16:40] Speaker 2: of miracle. You never see a man walk in completely
[16:44] Speaker 2: bald and walk out with a full head of hair.
[16:47] Speaker 2: He claims all kinds of miraculous miracles. He says, the
[16:53] Speaker 2: miracle is in your mouth. So if you have the
[16:55] Speaker 2: right kind of faith, faith is a force words of
[16:58] Speaker 2: the containers of the force. Through the force of faith,
[17:01] Speaker 2: you create your own reality. And then, of course he
[17:03] Speaker 2: is guaranteeing prosperity because he says that God's guarantee is prosperity.
[17:10] Speaker 2: I think we do a whole lot better listening to
[17:13] Speaker 2: men in the past, like Charles hadden't spurgeon who said
[17:17] Speaker 2: that the Old Covenant was a covenant of prosperity, the
[17:20] Speaker 2: New Covenant is a covenant of a diversity, whereby we're
[17:23] Speaker 2: being weaned from the present world and made meat for
[17:27] Speaker 2: the world to come. The issue for a Christian is
[17:32] Speaker 2: simply Christian capitalism, responsibility associated with wealth, which is to say,
[17:40] Speaker 2: we are not here living for the temporary, We are
[17:44] Speaker 2: here living for the eternal. Joyce Meyer, by the way,
[17:49] Speaker 2: she is another classic word of faith teacher. You have
[17:54] Speaker 2: to use extraordinary discernment skills to be able to separate
[17:57] Speaker 2: wheat from chaff and heat from light. So while she
[18:00] Speaker 2: may say something of substance from time to time, she
[18:04] Speaker 2: also says something very silly from time to time. For example,
[18:10] Speaker 2: she says, when we're praising and worshiping God, there's actually
[18:14] Speaker 2: an odor that comes off of us that is offensive
[18:18] Speaker 2: to the enemy. And I don't know if you've ever
[18:20] Speaker 2: had the opportunity to smell a demon possessed person, but
[18:23] Speaker 2: I have, and I tell you it's a stench people
[18:26] Speaker 2: that are demon possessed have an offensive odor to me,
[18:29] Speaker 2: And I'm glad that because I'm holy ghost possessed, that
[18:33] Speaker 2: I've got an offensive odor to the devil. I mean,
[18:36] Speaker 2: these are silly things to say. People don't smell as
[18:41] Speaker 2: a result of being demon possessed. In fact, I think
[18:46] Speaker 2: that if they did, we should want to spend as
[18:49] Speaker 2: much time with them as possible so that we might
[18:52] Speaker 2: be the balm of Gilead in their lives.
[18:55] Speaker 7: I see, hey, I appreciate your input there, and I
[18:59] Speaker 7: appreciate you take can my call, and we certainly enjoy your.
[19:01] Speaker 2: Ministry, sir God bless you. Thank you so much for
[19:04] Speaker 2: your call as well. Of course, Joyce Myer's moral is this.
[19:09] Speaker 2: When she talks to people who have debilitating issues, she
[19:15] Speaker 2: is just as crass as anyone I've ever heard. If
[19:19] Speaker 2: you are a paralytic or a paraplegic, she says, you
[19:25] Speaker 2: are the problem. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, get up.
[19:32] Speaker 2: Put another way, the key to health and prosperity is
[19:35] Speaker 2: to have faith in your faith rather than faith in
[19:38] Speaker 2: your God. And she says it. She says, faith is
[19:41] Speaker 2: not just some little well you know, I believe in
[19:45] Speaker 2: Jesus faith is a force that will change your life
[19:48] Speaker 2: and change your destiny. Well that might sound good to
[19:53] Speaker 2: people who are healthy, but if you're in a wheelchair,
[19:57] Speaker 2: it doesn't sound very good. And if on top of
[20:02] Speaker 2: being a paralytic or a paraplegic, you have someone like
[20:08] Speaker 2: Joyce Meyer heaping guilt on your head that you are
[20:13] Speaker 2: the problem, that's exactly what she says. You are the problem.
[20:19] Speaker 2: Stop feeling sorry for yourself, get up. That person can't
[20:23] Speaker 2: get up, And quite frankly, I have disdained for that
[20:29] Speaker 2: kind of talk. Johnny Erickson Tata has been in a
[20:34] Speaker 2: wheelchair for over three decades and that wheelchair has become
[20:40] Speaker 2: her crown. As a result of being in that wheelchair,
[20:46] Speaker 2: she might not have got up physically, but she gets
[20:51] Speaker 2: up every day spiritually and out of the over a
[20:54] Speaker 2: flow of a time spent in the presence of Almighty
[20:59] Speaker 2: go Odd, she has been enabled to bless multitudes through
[21:05] Speaker 2: her life and her ministry. Joyce Meyer is a crass,
[21:14] Speaker 2: big talker. And again, if you are healthy and wealth
[21:18] Speaker 2: at a particular point in your life, it all sounds
[21:21] Speaker 2: so wonderful, but wait until you struggle. The words are
[21:29] Speaker 2: like sledgehammers. Hardly what you would expect from someone who
[21:36] Speaker 2: claims to carry the mantle of Almighty God. Let's go
[21:41] Speaker 2: back to the phone lines and talk next to Paul.
[21:44] Speaker 2: He's listening in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
[21:48] Speaker 5: Hi Paul, Hi Hank. How you doing today.
[21:51] Speaker 2: I'm good, good talking to you.
[21:54] Speaker 5: Yes, well, thank you for taking that call pleasure. My
[21:57] Speaker 5: question is I sat in the seventies. I sat under
[22:01] Speaker 5: the Ministry of Witness Lee for about six or seven years,
[22:05] Speaker 5: and during that time we were taught the gap theory
[22:08] Speaker 5: between Genesis one one and Genesis one two, that the
[22:13] Speaker 5: Earth became waste and void, and that the actual story
[22:18] Speaker 5: of creation after that is a recreation and of the
[22:23] Speaker 5: cosmos and not merely an initial creation. And the book
[22:29] Speaker 5: that we were referred to was a book by G. H.
[22:31] Speaker 5: Kember called Earth's Earliest Ages, which I used to have
[22:35] Speaker 5: a copy of, but I don't have a copy of now.
[22:39] Speaker 5: And I'd like to hear your take on the gap theory.
[22:44] Speaker 5: And also we were taught that during that time of
[22:49] Speaker 5: the destruction of the original creation and the recreation, that's
[22:54] Speaker 5: where the unclean spirits and demons came from, was from
[22:58] Speaker 5: the previous dinosaur reptilian creation, whatever it was.
[23:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, the gap theory, whether you find it in Genesis
[23:08] Speaker 2: or you find it somewhere else in Daniel, or whether
[23:11] Speaker 2: you find it in Matthew twenty four between verse two
[23:16] Speaker 2: and verse four. Wherever you find the gap theory, I
[23:20] Speaker 2: know they're very popular theories now, the gaps and Daniel,
[23:24] Speaker 2: the gaps in Matthew and Genesis. I simply don't hold
[23:27] Speaker 2: to the gap theory. I think it's ad hoc and
[23:30] Speaker 2: therefore I deny that theory. Look, it's an in house
[23:34] Speaker 2: debate amongst Christians or a lot of Christians that hold
[23:36] Speaker 2: tenaciously to this. I'm not one of them.
[23:40] Speaker 5: Okay, Well, is your take on a dinosaur in the
[23:45] Speaker 5: Reptilian the reptilian creation or the reptiles dinosaurs which captures
[23:51] Speaker 5: the imagination of all the young people? The children today
[23:54] Speaker 5: are all captured in their imagination totally by dinosaurs or
[23:59] Speaker 5: anything to do with dinosaurs, right, And would you say
[24:04] Speaker 5: that there were dinosaurs were up until the time of
[24:07] Speaker 5: the flood? Is that what you would believe?
[24:09] Speaker 2: Well, there are various views on this. Again, this is
[24:13] Speaker 2: one of those in house debates amongst Christians. There are
[24:17] Speaker 2: Christians who hold to the day age theory, and they
[24:20] Speaker 2: say dinosaurs were created in the same day as man,
[24:23] Speaker 2: but that was a day age. Therefore the dinosaurs were
[24:27] Speaker 2: created millions and millions of years before man was created
[24:32] Speaker 2: on the six day Age. And then there are younger
[24:34] Speaker 2: creationists that say, no, that's not correct. Dinosaurs lived at
[24:38] Speaker 2: the same time that humans did. They were created in
[24:41] Speaker 2: the exact same twenty four hour time frame. And the
[24:45] Speaker 2: example they would give in evidence is from Job forty
[24:49] Speaker 2: and forty one with Behemoth and Leviathan. So again, this
[24:53] Speaker 2: is one of those issues that Christians differ on. Of course,
[24:58] Speaker 2: this word dinosaur was word that was coined by Sir
[25:02] Speaker 2: Richard Owen. It means terrible lizard. And when we look
[25:07] Speaker 2: at the dinosaurs that are extant, we recognize that they
[25:10] Speaker 2: did exist. The debate is when did they come into existence.
[25:15] Speaker 2: There are some mistakes, of course, with respect to the dinosaurs.
[25:18] Speaker 2: Brontosaurus was a mistake, wrong fossil head and wrong body.
[25:23] Speaker 2: Brachiosaurus is close to a description people say of what
[25:28] Speaker 2: you find in Job forty. But again there's a lot
[25:31] Speaker 2: of speculation within the Christian community on this, and I
[25:34] Speaker 2: think that in answer to the question, we need to
[25:37] Speaker 2: not only learn how to read adeptly God's book the Bible,
[25:42] Speaker 2: but also his general revelation in the Book of Nature.
[25:46] Speaker 2: We are called, as followers of the King to think
[25:50] Speaker 2: his thoughts after him, so critical to be adept in
[25:54] Speaker 2: both those fields, as God gives us strength and the
[25:57] Speaker 2: ability to learn. We're out of time for this edition
