[0:07] Speaker 1: You're just in time for the Bible answer Man broadcast
[0:10] Speaker 1: with Hank Anagraph, the radio outreach of the Christian Research Institute.
[0:15] Speaker 1: Our purpose here at CRII is to equip Christians to
[0:19] Speaker 1: pursue sound doctrine, to discern truth and error, and to
[0:23] Speaker 1: become faithful disciples of Christ because life and truth matter.
[0:28] Speaker 1: For more information, to order resources or donate, call eight
[0:32] Speaker 1: eight eight seven thousand CROI, or go online to equip
[0:37] Speaker 1: dot org. The following program was pre recorded. Now here's
[0:42] Speaker 1: the President of the Christian Research Institute, Hank Canagraph.
[0:46] Speaker 2: Thanks very much for Randy. Let's go to the phone lines.
[0:48] Speaker 2: Doctor Jason listening on the web in Durham, North Carolina.
[0:52] Speaker 2: Hi Jason, Hi, Hey, thanks taking the call my pleasure.
[0:56] Speaker 3: Real quick, Before I ask a question, I just wanted
[0:57] Speaker 3: to give a shout out to the Christian Research Journal.
[1:00] Speaker 3: A funny thing happened since I started reading it and
[1:03] Speaker 3: telling my friends and family the truth that I find
[1:06] Speaker 3: in it. I ultimately figured out that a lot of
[1:08] Speaker 3: the things I'd learned I simply pairro it and with
[1:12] Speaker 3: equip dot org show and Christian Research Journal. It's helped
[1:17] Speaker 3: me to better equip myself to answer the truth that
[1:19] Speaker 3: I'm now learning, and it was a self discovery thing
[1:22] Speaker 3: for me. And I appreciate everything that you and the whole.
[1:24] Speaker 4: Team does well.
[1:26] Speaker 2: Thank you so much. I have ghost bumps listening to you.
[1:28] Speaker 2: Thank you.
[1:29] Speaker 4: I really appreciate it.
[1:30] Speaker 5: It changed my life.
[1:31] Speaker 3: Thirty six years of my life. I believed some things
[1:34] Speaker 3: and now I'm learning and the Bible's just really coming
[1:36] Speaker 3: alive to me in a whole new way. And one
[1:37] Speaker 3: of those things that I've got both your books just code,
[1:40] Speaker 3: but having it gotten to one point, and I had
[1:42] Speaker 3: a friend ask me by the other day and I
[1:43] Speaker 3: really didn't how to answer it. So I'm curious, how
[1:45] Speaker 3: do we answer the two witnesses?
[1:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you'll get to it the Apocalypse code pretty soon.
[1:51] Speaker 2: But the basic idea here is too rightly identify the
[1:56] Speaker 2: two witnesses in Revelation chapter eleven, and you have to
[2:00] Speaker 2: have the background music of the Old Testament coursing through
[2:03] Speaker 2: your mind because the two witnesses turn out to be
[2:08] Speaker 2: a metaphorical reference to Moses and Elijah. And you have
[2:13] Speaker 2: to think back to Old Testament jurisprudence, which always mandated
[2:17] Speaker 2: at least two witnesses to convict someone of a crime.
[2:22] Speaker 2: And in the case presented in Revelation, you have two
[2:26] Speaker 2: witnesses accusing Israel of apostasy, and like Moses, those two
[2:34] Speaker 2: witnesses have the power to turn water into blood, and
[2:40] Speaker 2: like Elijah, the power to call down fire from heaven,
[2:44] Speaker 2: to consume their enemies, and to shut up the sky.
[2:48] Speaker 2: So it's not going to rain for three and a
[2:49] Speaker 2: half years. But also like their Lord, like Jesus Christ,
[2:54] Speaker 2: they're sacrificial lambs, and their corpses thus litter the streets
[2:59] Speaker 2: of Jerusale, which of course is the very city in
[3:03] Speaker 2: which Jesus Christ was crucified. And there are many other
[3:06] Speaker 2: parallels too. Their resurrection after three and a half days
[3:10] Speaker 2: parallels the resurrection of Christ in much the same way
[3:14] Speaker 2: that the three and a half year ministry mirrors that
[3:18] Speaker 2: of Messiah. So here's the bottom line. The two witnesses
[3:22] Speaker 2: form a composite image of the Law and the prophets,
[3:26] Speaker 2: culminating in the life, death and resurrection. In fact, the
[3:31] Speaker 2: ascension of a prophet and a priest who is the
[3:36] Speaker 2: earnest of all those who are his witnesses and will
[3:40] Speaker 2: reign with him in a new Jerusalem wherein dwells righteousness.
[3:44] Speaker 2: So again, if you look at the big picture of revelation,
[3:47] Speaker 2: you have these witnesses accusing Israel of apostasy. She is
[3:54] Speaker 2: in bed with a beast. And it's also in the
[3:59] Speaker 2: same way telling the faithful in the midst of apostasy.
[4:05] Speaker 2: I am purifying a bride. So you can be a bride,
[4:09] Speaker 2: or you can be a prostitute. You can be a
[4:11] Speaker 2: prostitute with the beast, or you can be the bride
[4:15] Speaker 2: of the Lamb. So that metaphor, that story is part
[4:19] Speaker 2: of the grand meta narrative, not only the Bible, but
[4:22] Speaker 2: certainly the Book of Revelation.
[4:24] Speaker 3: I appreciate it. Thank you very much.
[4:26] Speaker 2: You got it. Thank you so much for your call.
[4:29] Speaker 2: I want to go back to the phone lines now.
[4:31] Speaker 2: We'll talk next to Jay. He's listening in Virginia. Hi, Jay, Hi,
[4:36] Speaker 2: how are you, sar good?
[4:37] Speaker 5: How are you all right?
[4:39] Speaker 6: I am a recent discoverer of your station, and I
[4:42] Speaker 6: appreciate very much. Thank you it occasionally when I'm on
[4:47] Speaker 6: the road, and that's where I am right now. And
[4:50] Speaker 6: my question is, since man, as a descendant of Adam
[4:56] Speaker 6: is destined for seeing, and the wages of sin is death,
[5:00] Speaker 6: what is the reasons for animals, pets and such like
[5:06] Speaker 6: that to die. Also, they didn't commit any sin.
[5:10] Speaker 2: Well, here's what happens. The Bible tells us that sin
[5:14] Speaker 2: enters the world through the fall, and death comes as
[5:20] Speaker 2: a result of sin. And as a result, the whole
[5:24] Speaker 2: of creation, we're told, was subjected to frustration and decay.
[5:29] Speaker 2: In fact, those are the very words that the apostle
[5:32] Speaker 2: Paul uses. So what we have communicated in scripture is
[5:37] Speaker 2: the federal headship of Adam, which extends beyond humanity to
[5:42] Speaker 2: all of God's creation. So even the ground was cursed
[5:47] Speaker 2: as a direct result of Adam's rebellion, and the curse
[5:53] Speaker 2: and the promised redemption extends beyond the ground to the
[5:58] Speaker 2: very animals that war upon the ground. But remember it's
[6:03] Speaker 2: not only the curse, it's the hope of redemption. Because
[6:08] Speaker 2: the Bible in hole gives us a picture. It's a
[6:13] Speaker 2: fall in the first atom, and it's the possibility of
[6:17] Speaker 2: redemption in the second atom. And that possibility is going
[6:23] Speaker 2: to be a reality for all those who receive Jesus Christ.
[6:28] Speaker 2: And what happens then is that when Jesus Christ appears
[6:32] Speaker 2: a second time, the universe that now groans and travail
[6:36] Speaker 2: will be liberated from its bondage to decay. But so
[6:40] Speaker 2: too the plants and the animals, and the trees and
[6:44] Speaker 2: the crowning jewels of God's creation who want a relationship
[6:48] Speaker 2: with Him in eternity. So the animals do suffer as
[6:53] Speaker 2: a result of Atom's fall, but the potential of redemption
[6:58] Speaker 2: lies within for everyone that receives Jesus Christ and extends
[7:05] Speaker 2: then to the whole of creation as well.
[7:09] Speaker 5: Okay, you've brought it in a lot of insight, and
[7:12] Speaker 5: so bad. I hadn't recalled that horror's reading the Bible.
[7:14] Speaker 5: I try to read the Bible. I do read it daily,
[7:17] Speaker 5: and I'm trying to commit it the heart, as horryves.
[7:21] Speaker 5: Go's wrong.
[7:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, and you'll see this Jay when you get to
[7:24] Speaker 2: Romans chapter eight. Romans chapter eight really lays out the
[7:28] Speaker 2: fact that the creation is growing and travailed, but it
[7:31] Speaker 2: will be liberated from its bondage to decay. And the
[7:34] Speaker 2: whole of scripture is paradise lost becoming paradise restored. So
[7:38] Speaker 2: what once was when Adam walked with God in the
[7:41] Speaker 2: cool of the day, of course that's a metaphor. But
[7:44] Speaker 2: when Adam and Eve had intimate relationship with God will
[7:47] Speaker 2: once again be And since there were plants and animals
[7:52] Speaker 2: and trees, we can genuinely suppose that there will be
[7:57] Speaker 2: those things in the renewed creation as well well, when
[8:00] Speaker 2: the creation is liberated from its frustration and bondage to decay.
[8:05] Speaker 5: Wow, you make it sound so nice. Well it will
[8:09] Speaker 5: be your you revile.
[8:11] Speaker 2: On this blessings. Thank you so much for your call.
[8:14] Speaker 2: Want to go back to the phone lines now we'll
[8:15] Speaker 2: talk to Jake. He's listening in Alberta, Canada. Hi, Jake, Hello, Hi.
[8:21] Speaker 7: My question is involving in the Book of Revelation and
[8:25] Speaker 7: it talks about the beast and the six sixty six
[8:29] Speaker 7: in regards to the financial world. You know, you won't
[8:33] Speaker 7: be able to buy, sell, trade anything without having the
[8:36] Speaker 7: mark of the beast, And just wondering what the biblical
[8:39] Speaker 7: perspective is. How is that going to relate to like
[8:43] Speaker 7: a one world government. And I just want to get
[8:46] Speaker 7: your take on whether or not you know, like it
[8:49] Speaker 7: says if you bear this chip or what this microchip
[8:53] Speaker 7: that they're going to implant in you, and that's going
[8:55] Speaker 7: to be the means of future financial all world.
[9:00] Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, I'm going to give you a quick answer
[9:02] Speaker 2: to this because it's not true. If you want further
[9:06] Speaker 2: follow up information on this, I've written about this in
[9:08] Speaker 2: the Complete Bible answer Book Collector's Edition and in the
[9:11] Speaker 2: book The Apocalypse Code. But let me say this that
[9:15] Speaker 2: contrary to this kind of newspaper eschatology, there's no biblical
[9:19] Speaker 2: basis for believing that the mark of the beast is
[9:22] Speaker 2: a silicon microchip. Biblically, the mark of the beast is
[9:26] Speaker 2: a parody of the mark of the Lamb. So just
[9:29] Speaker 2: as the mark on the foreheads of the one hundred
[9:32] Speaker 2: and forty four thousand in Revelation fourteen symbolizes identity with
[9:38] Speaker 2: the Lamb, so the mark in Revelation thirteen symbolizes identity
[9:44] Speaker 2: with the beast. Now, when Jesus says, I will write
[9:49] Speaker 2: the name of my God in the name of the
[9:52] Speaker 2: city of my God on him, and my new name
[9:57] Speaker 2: I will write on him, talking about those who are believers,
[10:01] Speaker 2: we know that he's not talking about a magic marker,
[10:04] Speaker 2: so we're not talking about a physical mark. But even
[10:07] Speaker 2: beyond that, there's an important thing to recognize with the
[10:10] Speaker 2: number six hundred sixty and six and by the way,
[10:13] Speaker 2: it's not just a sequence of sixes. It's not sixty
[10:16] Speaker 2: sixty six, it's six hundred sixty and six. And that's
[10:20] Speaker 2: not just a distinction without a difference. It's a very
[10:22] Speaker 2: significant distinction. But here's the point. No amount of wisdom
[10:27] Speaker 2: and insight would have enabled a first century audience to
[10:30] Speaker 2: calculate the number of a twenty first century beast. And
[10:34] Speaker 2: it would have been cruel and dangerously misleading for John
[10:38] Speaker 2: to suggest to first century Christians that they could identified
[10:42] Speaker 2: the beast if in fact the beast was a twenty
[10:45] Speaker 2: first century individual or institution. So the clue here is unmistakable.
[10:49] Speaker 2: This is not about a twenty first century happening. It's
[10:53] Speaker 2: about something that happened in the first century. And again
[10:57] Speaker 2: I lay this out in a number of different places.
[11:00] Speaker 2: Will be right back with more of your questions.
[11:03] Speaker 1: The famous British apologist GK. Chesterton once noted, the true
[11:08] Speaker 1: soldier fights not because he hates what is in front
[11:11] Speaker 1: of him, but because he loves what is behind him.
[11:13] Speaker 1: Because at CRII we love what is behind us, our faith,
[11:17] Speaker 1: our families, and our freedoms. We will never retreat quietly
[11:21] Speaker 1: from the growing assaults on life and truth, even when
[11:24] Speaker 1: the costs are great. We will stand to join like
[11:28] Speaker 1: minded friends in making a difference at home and around
[11:31] Speaker 1: the globe, and to equip fellow believers to stand their

[11:50] Speaker 2: Stay with us.
[11:51] Speaker 1: Hank Canigraph will return in a few moments. Bertrand Russell
[12:02] Speaker 1: famously said most people would rather die than think, and
[12:06] Speaker 1: many of them do not so with CRI Support Team members.
[12:11] Speaker 1: Support Team members are not only serious thinkers, but their
[12:15] Speaker 1: membership and CRI's Support Team helps to equip hundreds of
[12:19] Speaker 1: thousands of fellow believers around the globe each and every month.

[12:52] Speaker 1: Once again, that's equip dot org breaking the code. If
[13:04] Speaker 1: the Book of Revelation has become an international obsession, the
[13:07] Speaker 1: result has been rampant misreading of scripture, bad theology, and
[13:11] Speaker 1: even bad politics and foreign policy. In The Apocalypse Code,
[13:15] Speaker 1: find out what the Bible really says about the end
[13:18] Speaker 1: times and why it matters today. Hank Canagraph argues that
[13:22] Speaker 1: the key to understanding the Last Book of the Bible
[13:25] Speaker 1: is the other sixty five books of the Bible, not
[13:28] Speaker 1: current events or recent history. The Apocalypse Code offers sane
[13:32] Speaker 1: answers to some very controversial questions, such as what does
[13:36] Speaker 1: it mean to take the Book of Revelation literally? Who
[13:38] Speaker 1: are the Antichrist and the Great Horror of Babylon? And
[13:42] Speaker 1: what is the real meaning of six hundred and sixty six?

[15:12] Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Randy, and we'll go right back
[15:13] Speaker 2: to our phone callers. Next up is James listening in Vancouver,
[15:18] Speaker 2: British Columbia, Canada.
[15:19] Speaker 8: Hi James, Hi, thank you so much for taking my.
[15:22] Speaker 2: Call, my pleasure.
[15:24] Speaker 8: What is Jesus saying in Matthew eleven Verses twenty eight
[15:29] Speaker 8: through thirty My yoke is easy and my burden? What
[15:32] Speaker 8: is he referring to if you can help me.
[15:35] Speaker 2: Yes. This is a very interesting explanation in light of
[15:41] Speaker 2: the context in which we find it for Jesus to
[15:44] Speaker 2: say that his burden is not heavy, because within the
[15:49] Speaker 2: context you have pharisees and teachers of the law placing
[15:54] Speaker 2: a stifling burden on the people because of legalism. So
[16:01] Speaker 2: the legalism is such a burden it's virtually impossible to bear.
[16:08] Speaker 2: But Jesus Christ never gives us a stifling form of legalism.
[16:14] Speaker 2: It's not about tithing your mint. It's about partaking in
[16:18] Speaker 2: the weightier matters of the law, justice and righteousness and equity.
[16:25] Speaker 2: So the purpose of a yoke is to facilitate the
[16:28] Speaker 2: bearing of a burden, to make it easier to carry.
[16:32] Speaker 2: The pharisees weren't doing that. But Christ offers true freedom
[16:36] Speaker 2: from the burden of legalism because he carries that burden himself.
[16:42] Speaker 2: And so what we now do is ingratitude for what
[16:46] Speaker 2: he has done, And in that sense, the yoke is easy,
[16:50] Speaker 2: the burden is light. We enter into a disciple relationship
[16:55] Speaker 2: with Jesus Christ, who of course is gentle and lowly heart.
[17:01] Speaker 8: So basically the verse twenty ninth verse says, take my
[17:06] Speaker 8: yoke upon you and learn of me. That's where the
[17:10] Speaker 8: key lies. To learn of him on a day to
[17:13] Speaker 8: day basis would be his burden, and my availability to
[17:19] Speaker 8: him is really the keyenence.
[17:21] Speaker 2: Yes, and to be found in him.
[17:23] Speaker 8: That's right.
[17:24] Speaker 2: Yes, Yes, we're overcomers because we're in the overcomer.
[17:28] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[17:29] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[17:29] Speaker 8: Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. It just
[17:32] Speaker 8: opens up a little bit more, makes it easier for
[17:35] Speaker 8: me to pick it up. Thank you again.
[17:37] Speaker 2: You got to bless you. Thank you so much for
[17:39] Speaker 2: your call back to the phone list. We'll talk next
[17:41] Speaker 2: to David. David is listening in Raymore, Missouri.
[17:45] Speaker 10: Hi David, Hello, Hank, Nice to talk to you. Likewise,
[17:50] Speaker 10: I have a question about First John chapter three, versus
[17:54] Speaker 10: six to ten, where it's talking about sin and how
[18:00] Speaker 10: we're sinning that we can't be of God and those
[18:03] Speaker 10: that go on and even you know it goes farther
[18:06] Speaker 10: into verses eight, nine and ten.
[18:08] Speaker 7: Is John.
[18:09] Speaker 4: It appears that.
[18:10] Speaker 10: He's talking to believers here, But is he talking in
[18:14] Speaker 10: like hyperbole in order to get the believer's attention or
[18:19] Speaker 10: could you just explain that why he is very earnest
[18:22] Speaker 10: and serious and talking about sin, and the fact that
[18:25] Speaker 10: we have to be thinked, you know, is kind of
[18:29] Speaker 10: the point he seems to be making in that.
[18:31] Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, remember John is obviously not schizophrenic, and he
[18:36] Speaker 2: is starting his letter out by saying, if we confess
[18:39] Speaker 2: our sins, he is faithful and justin will forgive us
[18:43] Speaker 2: our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. But if
[18:46] Speaker 2: we claim we have not sinned, we make him out
[18:48] Speaker 2: to be a liar, and his word has no place
[18:50] Speaker 2: in our lives. So the same John that writes those
[18:53] Speaker 2: words also writes later on, when you get to chapter
[18:57] Speaker 2: three those very words that you're talking about, where he
[19:00] Speaker 2: says in him is no sin, and no one who
[19:03] Speaker 2: lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues
[19:07] Speaker 2: to sin has either seen him or known him. The
[19:10] Speaker 2: point here is not that John is giving two different messages. No,
[19:14] Speaker 2: it's a coherent message. What he's saying is this that
[19:17] Speaker 2: if you are in Jesus Christ, you are not going
[19:21] Speaker 2: to continually, willfully digress into sin and debauchery, the thing
[19:29] Speaker 2: that you have been saved from. Rather, you are going
[19:34] Speaker 2: to be one who seeks to follow Jesus Christ. This, however,
[19:39] Speaker 2: does not mean that you will not sin, but you
[19:42] Speaker 2: won't live in a willful state of disobedience, because what
[19:46] Speaker 2: happens at repentance is that your willer is moved in
[19:49] Speaker 2: a different direction. It's as though the needle is pointing
[19:53] Speaker 2: in the direction of doing it God's way, where before
[19:56] Speaker 2: the needle was pointing in the direction of doing it
[19:59] Speaker 2: your own way. So that's really what's going on. We're
[20:02] Speaker 2: still sinners, and the only time in which we will
[20:06] Speaker 2: no longer sin is when we're glorified, and that takes
[20:08] Speaker 2: place when Jesus appears a second time.
[20:11] Speaker 10: So is that saying that we have to be perfectbody's
[20:14] Speaker 10: saying that our mindset, if it is on Christ, that
[20:17] Speaker 10: we are going to willfully that we're going to walk
[20:21] Speaker 10: away from those things and we're going to receive that
[20:26] Speaker 10: happiness and that joy that comes in walking with Christ,
[20:29] Speaker 10: and that is going to help us remove ourselves from
[20:32] Speaker 10: those situations and those wants and desires.
[20:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, beautiful way of putting it. And that's exactly what
[20:37] Speaker 2: I'm saying. I'm saying two different things. Of course, all
[20:40] Speaker 2: I'm doing is repeating what John is saying. But on
[20:43] Speaker 2: the one hand, we're perfect in Jesus Christ. On the
[20:45] Speaker 2: other hand, our direction is no longer continuous willful disobedience,
[20:53] Speaker 2: but rather repentance, which is a you turn from that,
[20:57] Speaker 2: so that we are seeking to please God. But in
[21:00] Speaker 2: that process we're going to continually fall as well, because
[21:04] Speaker 2: we are still encumbered by us in nature. When we fall,
[21:08] Speaker 2: we confess, and when we confess, what happens is that
[21:13] Speaker 2: our relationship becomes strong and stable.
[21:16] Speaker 10: Again, absolutely, thank you, Hank.
[21:19] Speaker 7: I appreciate it.
[21:20] Speaker 2: Well, you got it. Back to the phone lines. I
[21:21] Speaker 2: want to talk to Victor next. He's listening in Ohio.
[21:24] Speaker 2: Hi Victor, Hi.
[21:26] Speaker 9: Hank, thank you for taking my call, my pleasure. My
[21:29] Speaker 9: question is this. I know that we're all sinners because
[21:32] Speaker 9: of what Adam did, but it was brought to my
[21:35] Speaker 9: attention that what Adam did we all would have done
[21:40] Speaker 9: and being in his position, and.
[21:41] Speaker 6: If that's true, is there versus scripture to support that?
[21:44] Speaker 9: Thank you?
[21:45] Speaker 2: Well, you know, I think there's a category mistake that's
[21:48] Speaker 2: made here, and I think this is a very significant
[21:51] Speaker 2: question and requires a precise answer. Our very identity is
[21:57] Speaker 2: bound up in being the aweso or the seed of
[22:01] Speaker 2: sinful atom. So we are sinners by nature and therefore
[22:06] Speaker 2: we can't put ourselves in the garden as though we
[22:10] Speaker 2: are not Adam's offspring. Without a sin nature, we wouldn't
[22:16] Speaker 2: be who we really are, And therefore to ask that
[22:21] Speaker 2: question does involve a category mistake. Adam was God's chosen
[22:27] Speaker 2: representative for all humanity, but he has also provided for
[22:35] Speaker 2: us a second atom. So God not only chose a
[22:41] Speaker 2: representative for us in the first atom, but he chose
[22:46] Speaker 2: a representative for us in the second atom. And John
[22:51] Speaker 2: lays this out as well as Paul, who lays this
[22:56] Speaker 2: out particularly well in Romans chapter five in First Corinthians
[23:01] Speaker 2: chapter fifteen. But basically, what's going on here is that
[23:07] Speaker 2: through no act of our own we are condemned, and
[23:10] Speaker 2: through no act of our own we are saved. And
[23:13] Speaker 2: a lot of people don't like this. But if you
[23:15] Speaker 2: don't like being represented by Adam because the idea of
[23:18] Speaker 2: representation appears unfear, then perhaps you won't like to be,
[23:24] Speaker 2: in the interest of fairness, represented by Christ. I mean,
[23:28] Speaker 2: that's kind of what's going on. We have, through Adam
[23:33] Speaker 2: the opportunity to be involved in the best of all
[23:39] Speaker 2: possible circumstances because of the way in which God allows
[23:46] Speaker 2: this to happen in his providence, in his wisdom, is
[23:51] Speaker 2: that we are going to be able to partake of
[23:53] Speaker 2: the best of all possible worlds, a world in which
[23:57] Speaker 2: we will forever be able not to sin. So again,
[24:02] Speaker 2: it's very difficult to underscramble the egg. Our our identity
[24:06] Speaker 2: is bound up in being the seed of sinful atom
[24:12] Speaker 2: and that's the way it is. And therefore it's hard
[24:14] Speaker 2: to go back and say if if if if, because
[24:17] Speaker 2: we're mixing or muddling categories.
[24:20] Speaker 4: Right.
[24:21] Speaker 9: Well, thank you so much, Hank, and I'm a member
[24:24] Speaker 9: of the support team. Thank you for taking my call.
[24:28] Speaker 2: Adam, Thank you so much. Bless you for joining the
[24:31] Speaker 2: support team. That means the world to us, gives us
[24:34] Speaker 2: a foundation. Back to the phone lines. I want to
[24:36] Speaker 2: talk to Chuck. He's listening in Cleveland, Mississippi.
[24:39] Speaker 11: Hi, Chuck, oh, other of the two pastors talking about
[24:44] Speaker 11: the annihilation theory. Yeah, about why would in all loving
[24:48] Speaker 11: God let someone burn for eternity? And give the example,
[24:53] Speaker 11: you know, he saw a rodent and that was burning
[24:55] Speaker 11: and he was kind of grows out by it, and
[24:57] Speaker 11: you know, you.
[24:57] Speaker 4: Feel bad, and his tament was, well, how you know,
[25:02] Speaker 4: why would God let someone route for all eternity and
[25:05] Speaker 4: instead of to you know, let them burn up and
[25:07] Speaker 4: then they're going forever. And my question is, and I've
[25:10] Speaker 4: been taught that hell was an eternal punishment for those
[25:14] Speaker 4: that decide to go there.
[25:15] Speaker 2: And you're absolutely right. I'm not cutting you off here,
[25:17] Speaker 2: but I'm almost out of time. And here's what i
[25:19] Speaker 2: want to tell you. In the Christian Research Journal we
[25:22] Speaker 2: address that question head on in an article which involves
[25:27] Speaker 2: a book titled Love Wins by Rob Bell. The whole
[25:31] Speaker 2: idea of universalism is mentioned in that article, and also
[25:36] Speaker 2: what is underscored in dramatic fashion is that we do
[25:40] Speaker 2: not have a concept of a holy God, and therefore
[25:43] Speaker 2: we don't understand the full extent of our violation of
[25:48] Speaker 2: the righteousness the holiness of an infinite God. Again, this
[25:53] Speaker 2: is laid out in the Christian Research Journal. Wish I
[25:56] Speaker 2: could spend more time on it. Will be back here
[25:59] Speaker 2: though more of the Bible answer Man broadcasts. We'll see

[27:08] Speaker 1: but even more fundamentally on historic notions of truth. And
[27:12] Speaker 1: the enemy isn't just the onslaught of fake news, facilitated
[27:15] Speaker 1: by a post truth culture and turbocharged by growing legions
[27:19] Speaker 1: of ideological spinductors. Note the real enemies of truth range
[27:23] Speaker 1: from postmodernist convictions that there is no objective truth to
[27:28] Speaker 1: militant scientism that claims that only science can determine truth
