[0:07] Speaker 1: From the Christian Research Institute and Charlotte, North Carolina. You're
[0:11] Speaker 1: listening to the Bible answer Man broadcast with Hank Canagraph.
[0:15] Speaker 1: We're on the air because life and truth matter. The
[0:19] Speaker 1: mission of the Christian Research Institute is to equip believers
[0:22] Speaker 1: to answer life's essential questions soundly and persuasively, and to
[0:27] Speaker 1: give the reason for the hope that you have with
[0:30] Speaker 1: gentleness and respect. For more information, go online to equip
[0:35] Speaker 1: dot org. The following program was pre recorded and now
[0:40] Speaker 1: here's Bible answer Man host Hank Canagraph.
[0:43] Speaker 2: Thank you very much for r Andy. A lot of
[0:45] Speaker 2: you hanging on. We'll go right to the phone callers.
[0:47] Speaker 2: Doctor Donna, she's listening on Saint Louis, Missouri. Hi Donna, Hi.
[0:52] Speaker 3: How you doing.
[0:53] Speaker 2: I'm good? How are you?
[0:55] Speaker 3: I'm okay, just a little worried.
[0:57] Speaker 2: Okay.
[0:58] Speaker 3: I want to know what I can do to help
[1:00] Speaker 3: my daughter that's getting involved with pagan religion, specifically Wickan. Yeah,
[1:05] Speaker 3: he's got a new boyfriend that he's Wick and she's
[1:08] Speaker 3: a Christian. She's become pregnant with his baby, and it's
[1:12] Speaker 3: just really got me worried. What can I do to
[1:15] Speaker 3: help her?
[1:16] Speaker 2: Sure? Well, just in a general sense, you need to
[1:19] Speaker 2: realize that Wicca is experiencing dramatic growth today because teens
[1:23] Speaker 2: are rejecting what they perceive as Christian paternalism, homophobia, and
[1:30] Speaker 2: sensitivity to the environment and the like. And the old
[1:35] Speaker 2: religion or the craft as it's called, holds that all
[1:39] Speaker 2: religion is false unless you recognize that all reality is divine.
[1:47] Speaker 2: So they revere the natural world as a living, breathing organism,
[1:51] Speaker 2: and they revere people as gods and goddesses. So it's
[1:56] Speaker 2: a kind of religious construct that just suits our time
[2:00] Speaker 2: and suits our teens. And so it is not at
[2:05] Speaker 2: all for me a wonder that your daughter is at
[2:10] Speaker 2: least looking at Wicka as being viable, because, in sharp
[2:14] Speaker 2: contrast to a Christian worldview, wickans worship creation rather than
[2:19] Speaker 2: worshiping the Creator. And of course this worldview stands in
[2:24] Speaker 2: direct opposition to a biblical notion of absolute moral truth
[2:29] Speaker 2: and exclusive salvation through Jesus Christ, who alone is the
[2:33] Speaker 2: way to truth in the life. So once you embrace
[2:36] Speaker 2: this w worldview, there is no absolute moral standard, and
[2:41] Speaker 2: therefore you can rationalize all kinds of behavior. You can
[2:46] Speaker 2: rationalize sex outside of marriage, having a baby without being married.
[2:53] Speaker 2: So it is a worldview that is very, very palatable
[2:58] Speaker 2: to teenagers today. But the reality is this, and this
[3:02] Speaker 2: is what your daughter needs to know that God doesn't
[3:06] Speaker 2: set parameters around our lives to be a cosmic killed joy,
[3:10] Speaker 2: but rather sets these parameters around our lives so that
[3:14] Speaker 2: our joy might be complete. You can unscramble the egg
[3:18] Speaker 2: at this point. If you're pregnant, you're pregnant. So now
[3:22] Speaker 2: you've got to go on with a very clear testimony
[3:28] Speaker 2: of why the Christian worldview is the only worldview that
[3:32] Speaker 2: will completely and automatically satisfy your daughter and everyone else
[3:36] Speaker 2: who hears it. The Wickan worldview will simply, in the
[3:41] Speaker 2: end leave her unsatisfied and confused. So there are no
[3:45] Speaker 2: simple solutions in the circumstance other than preaching the Gospel
[3:50] Speaker 2: clearly and compassionately so that the hardness transformed, and not
[3:55] Speaker 2: just being part of a church or growing up in
[3:58] Speaker 2: a church, but transformed in a genuine way by the
[4:02] Speaker 2: power Christ.
[4:04] Speaker 3: Okay, I think I understand some of this now.
[4:06] Speaker 2: Yeah. Again, the worldview itself, the wicked worldview, gives people
[4:11] Speaker 2: an opportunity to live life by their own standard, their
[4:16] Speaker 2: own subjective standard, because there is no moral lawgiver. Therefore
[4:19] Speaker 2: they can do whatever there's right in their own eyes,
[4:21] Speaker 2: as opposed to fearing the Lord and living in accordance
[4:25] Speaker 2: with his precepts and principles.
[4:28] Speaker 3: Thank you so much. You have made me feel so
[4:30] Speaker 3: much better.
[4:31] Speaker 2: Well, Donna, thank you. And if you want to hang on,
[4:33] Speaker 2: I can send you some information on WICCA which kind
[4:36] Speaker 2: of distills all of this in such a way that
[4:39] Speaker 2: you can communicate from a position of knowledge with your daughter.
[4:43] Speaker 3: Okay, thank you, and.
[4:44] Speaker 2: My prayers go along with you. I want to go
[4:47] Speaker 2: back to the phone lines. We'll talk next to John.
[4:49] Speaker 2: He's listening on the web in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
[4:52] Speaker 4: Hi John, Hello Hank, thank you for taking my call.
[4:56] Speaker 2: My pleasure.
[4:58] Speaker 4: I'm having a respectful debate on eschatology with a friend
[5:01] Speaker 4: of mine, and it's kind of gone somewhere where I
[5:05] Speaker 4: didn't expect it to. It's kind of gone to the
[5:06] Speaker 4: beginning with whether God has two people or one essentially,
[5:11] Speaker 4: and he's following something that I've had to learn covenant theology,
[5:16] Speaker 4: and the question I had for you kind of where
[5:19] Speaker 4: we're getting stuck on is Genesis fifteen seventeen, the Blood Covenant,
[5:25] Speaker 4: where he states that Christ's death on the cross, the
[5:29] Speaker 4: bloody shed there doesn't erase that covenant. And then also
[5:33] Speaker 4: Genesis seventeen seven with its stating it's an everlasting covenant
[5:38] Speaker 4: to an ethnic people, and you know, that's basically what
[5:43] Speaker 4: we're stuck on it. And I was wondering just what
[5:45] Speaker 4: your thoughts are on those two.
[5:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, well, remember that the covenant God made to Abraham
[5:50] Speaker 2: was fulfilled. There are people who say that that covenant
[5:54] Speaker 2: is yet to be fulfilled, but they're simply wrong. And
[5:58] Speaker 2: it sounds like in the debate that one of the
[6:00] Speaker 2: sticking points. You can go to the book of Joshua
[6:04] Speaker 2: and see that what I'm saying is absolutely true. Joshua,
[6:08] Speaker 2: I think it's twenty one forty three where the Lord
[6:13] Speaker 2: gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give
[6:16] Speaker 2: their forefathers, and they took possession of the land, they
[6:20] Speaker 2: settled there, and Joshua goes so far as to say
[6:24] Speaker 2: that not one of the Lord's good promises to the
[6:28] Speaker 2: House of Israel failed, every one was fulfilled. And you
[6:35] Speaker 2: can see this further with Solomon, whose reign included the
[6:42] Speaker 2: time that the Temple was constructed, and Solomon says, not
[6:48] Speaker 2: one word has failed. All of the good promises the
[6:52] Speaker 2: Lord gave through his servant Moses were fulfilled. In fact,
[6:58] Speaker 2: at the height of Solomon's kingdom, the people of Judah
[7:02] Speaker 2: and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore.
[7:06] Speaker 2: According to the Bible, they ate, they drank, they were happy,
[7:09] Speaker 2: and Solomon ruled over all of the kingdoms from the
[7:12] Speaker 2: River Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, as far
[7:17] Speaker 2: as the border of Egypt. And then I'd say one
[7:21] Speaker 2: other thing in this regard. Even in the aftermath of
[7:26] Speaker 2: the exile, Nehemiah extolled the faithfulness of God in fulfilling
[7:32] Speaker 2: the land promises he had made to the patriarchs. So
[7:37] Speaker 2: my first point in response to your question is to
[7:40] Speaker 2: say that all of the promises God made were fulfilled.
[7:48] Speaker 2: But there's more. The land promises are fulfilled in the
[7:52] Speaker 2: far future through Jesus Christ, who provides true Israel with
[7:56] Speaker 2: permanent rest from their wanderings in sea. And then in
[8:04] Speaker 2: the final the land promises are fully fulfilled through Jesus Christ,
[8:13] Speaker 2: who leads the spiritual descendants of Abraham into paradise restored.
[8:18] Speaker 2: So in the fore future the land promises were fulfilled
[8:21] Speaker 2: with the children of Israel enter the promised land in
[8:24] Speaker 2: the far future typologically fulfilled in the Lord who is
[8:28] Speaker 2: the locust of the land, and in the final future,
[8:31] Speaker 2: the promise of the land will be fully and finally consummated,
[8:36] Speaker 2: when Paradise lost is reconstituted as Paradise restored. But when
[8:41] Speaker 2: you got into the prologue to this question, it was
[8:43] Speaker 2: interesting to hear how so many people start with the
[8:49] Speaker 2: wrong premise, and I think that's at the heart of
[8:52] Speaker 2: the issue. They start with the premise that God has
[8:55] Speaker 2: two people, but that's simply wrong. God has only always
[9:01] Speaker 2: had one covenant people, one chosen people, one covenant community,
[9:09] Speaker 2: and that covenant community is connected by a cross. So
[9:12] Speaker 2: in the Old Testament, Rahab, though she is a Canaanite,
[9:16] Speaker 2: and Ruth, though she is a Moabite, is a covenant
[9:21] Speaker 2: child in fact of their case and the lineage of
[9:24] Speaker 2: Jesus Christ itself. So it is not as though God
[9:27] Speaker 2: has two distinct people. God has always had one distinct people,
[9:32] Speaker 2: and that people is not determined on the basis of ethnicity.
[9:36] Speaker 2: That is simply a fault. God is not a racist.
[9:41] Speaker 2: People who left Egypt after their slavery. Were not just Israelites.
[9:48] Speaker 2: Egyptians left as well with Israel because they had embraced
[9:53] Speaker 2: God of Israel as their God, and they knew that
[9:58] Speaker 2: he was the true God. Therefore they they were not
[10:00] Speaker 2: excluded as true Israel. They were part of true Israel.
[10:05] Speaker 2: And that's exactly why Esther chapter eight, I believe can
[10:09] Speaker 2: say that there are many people from many different nations
[10:12] Speaker 2: that became Jews. Why because they embraced Yahweh, the God
[10:16] Speaker 2: of Israel, and they were brought into all the civil
[10:18] Speaker 2: and ceremonial laws looking forward to Jesus Christ. So your
[10:22] Speaker 2: right to consider that. At the heart of this issue
[10:25] Speaker 2: is the question does God have two distinct people or
[10:29] Speaker 2: does God only have one distinct people? And the answer
[10:34] Speaker 2: course is he only has one from every tongue, tribe, people,
[10:39] Speaker 2: and nation. We are coming to station break. We'll be
[10:41] Speaker 2: right back on the other side of the break with
[10:43] Speaker 2: more of your questions. And to remember, as always, this
[10:46] Speaker 2: is a ministry supported by the love of people who
[10:51] Speaker 2: love the truth. So stand with us, prayerfully and financially

[13:02] Speaker 1: surrounding the Christian flock is growing, and they relish nothing
[13:05] Speaker 1: more than docile's sheep, utterly incapable of defending themselves from
[13:10] Speaker 1: militant secularists at home to militant Islamists abroad. The assaults
[13:15] Speaker 1: on biblical Christianity are growing dangerously, but Christian Research Institutes
[13:20] Speaker 1: Support Team members aren't in favor of feeding these wolves. Instead,
[13:24] Speaker 1: each day they're making possible an array of outreaches that

[14:18] Speaker 1: research and reflection, Hank Henagraph's monumental book Has God Spoken
[14:23] Speaker 1: answers what is surely the most important question facing our world.
[14:27] Speaker 1: In Has God Spoken? Memorable proofs of the Bible's Divine inspiration,
[14:32] Speaker 1: Hank counters the contentions of the Bible attackers and clearly
[14:36] Speaker 1: shows that belief in the Holy Scriptures is not a
[14:39] Speaker 1: guess or wishful thinking. It is the only logical conclusion

[16:23] Speaker 2: Spirit and by the grace of God. Let's go back
[16:25] Speaker 2: to the phone lines. Talk to Tammy listening in Vancouver,
[16:28] Speaker 2: British Columbia.
[16:29] Speaker 5: Hi Tammy, Hi Nis, how about you?
[16:32] Speaker 2: I'm good? How are you?
[16:33] Speaker 5: I'm doing good? Thanks for taking my.
[16:36] Speaker 2: Phone call, my pleasure.
[16:38] Speaker 5: This is the second time I'm calling. Last time I
[16:41] Speaker 5: called you regarding my marriage at and I was told
[16:44] Speaker 5: you I was Muslim and just converted to the Christian Yes,
[16:48] Speaker 5: and we got married. My husband is a Christian and
[16:51] Speaker 5: we got married at the mosque. Yes, I know. He
[16:54] Speaker 5: walked away from our marriage and I was taught by
[16:57] Speaker 5: his friend. Then he said, this marriage is over because
[17:01] Speaker 5: if the mosque can be don't have any documents, and
[17:06] Speaker 5: I don't know what is the best way I can
[17:08] Speaker 5: handle this? Do I need to divorce? How do I divorce?
[17:12] Speaker 5: I am praying to the God to bring us back,
[17:15] Speaker 5: but he doesn't want to do anything with me anymore.
[17:19] Speaker 2: What has happened to your husband? Has he completely left
[17:21] Speaker 2: the area that he's gone? Is he in a different
[17:25] Speaker 2: state or different country?
[17:26] Speaker 3: No?
[17:27] Speaker 5: No, he's here, He's in Vancouver, but he doesn't want
[17:30] Speaker 5: to do anything with me.
[17:31] Speaker 2: Okay, so you are separated at this point, Yes, we
[17:35] Speaker 2: totally separated. Yes, yes, well, Timmy, I think that what
[17:41] Speaker 2: you need to do and I'll certainly join you in
[17:43] Speaker 2: this is pray that his heart will be changed. Pray
[17:48] Speaker 2: for reconciliation. But if he irrevocably breaks the bond and
[17:57] Speaker 2: breaks the marriage by marrying someone else or being involved
[18:03] Speaker 2: in activities that sever the marriage bond, then you are
[18:08] Speaker 2: no longer bound in that circumstance. But I think as
[18:12] Speaker 2: long as the door to reconciliation remains open, although it
[18:18] Speaker 2: seems impossible, I'm sure from your perspective, you need to
[18:22] Speaker 2: pray to the end that God will bring people and
[18:24] Speaker 2: circumstances to bear on the situation such that reconciliation can
[18:30] Speaker 2: take place. Are you in a good church.
[18:35] Speaker 5: I am in a good church and I'm attending to
[18:38] Speaker 5: their prayer meeting. They are praying for me God. I
[18:42] Speaker 5: was taught by somebody that he's looking for somebody else,
[18:47] Speaker 5: and I have no idea. I don't know. I trust him.
[18:51] Speaker 5: He's really good man, he's really having a good heart.
[18:55] Speaker 5: He's helping me, he's around me. But I notice this
[18:59] Speaker 5: satan and that's not my husband, because he's a really
[19:02] Speaker 5: good person. But I was told that he's trying to
[19:05] Speaker 5: find somebody else.
[19:07] Speaker 2: Right, and Tammy, you know, the difficult thing is you
[19:10] Speaker 2: can't make anyone. Love can never be cohersed, and you
[19:14] Speaker 2: can't make someone come back. But God can. God can
[19:19] Speaker 2: change the heart. And I know this is a really
[19:22] Speaker 2: difficult situation. And that's why I asked you whether you're
[19:24] Speaker 2: in a church, because you need sisters and brothers right
[19:29] Speaker 2: now that can pray for you, hold you up, encourage you,
[19:33] Speaker 2: and build you up in the faith, and God can
[19:38] Speaker 2: be your source. This is a very difficult situation, and
[19:42] Speaker 2: it's emblematic of a broken, fallen world. And what your
[19:46] Speaker 2: husband is doing in leaving you is wrong. But there
[19:53] Speaker 2: are so many wrongs that are difficult to write in
[19:59] Speaker 2: this world. You can know they will be righted at
[20:02] Speaker 2: some point. Right now, you can't do anything but pray
[20:09] Speaker 2: and leave the door to reconciliation open. But no matter
[20:13] Speaker 2: what happens in this circumstance, remember that there's one father
[20:20] Speaker 2: who will never leave you. Your heavenly Father will never
[20:25] Speaker 2: forsake you. He knows your pain, he knows your need,
[20:31] Speaker 2: he knows the rejection you have to be feeling, and
[20:35] Speaker 2: he will be faithful to you. And there will be
[20:40] Speaker 2: Christians that will be his arms and his hands and
[20:45] Speaker 2: his feet and the balm of Gilead in your life.
[20:51] Speaker 2: He will save your wounds during your darkest moments. He
[20:54] Speaker 2: will carry you. It doesn't mean it's going to be easy,
[20:59] Speaker 2: but he is never going to forsake you, and even
[21:02] Speaker 2: in your brokenness, you will be more reconciled to him. Tammy,
[21:09] Speaker 2: your love and your relationship with your heavenly Father will
[21:14] Speaker 2: grow and be enhanced. And it's in the cauldron of
[21:18] Speaker 2: adversity of life that we come to true valuation of things.
[21:24] Speaker 2: And we can't really answer the question why you're going
[21:28] Speaker 2: through this. I mean, the Bible doesn't answer that question,
[21:31] Speaker 2: never answers the white question, but it does teach us
[21:35] Speaker 2: to trust God in the midst of our wise. So
[21:39] Speaker 2: He's given us enough information, Tammy, so we know we
[21:42] Speaker 2: can trust him. And I can't tell you what the
[21:45] Speaker 2: future holds for you, but I do know who holds
[21:47] Speaker 2: the future. So I know that God is going to
[21:51] Speaker 2: be faithful to you, Tammy, and you can rest in
[21:54] Speaker 2: his grace and his love.
[22:00] Speaker 5: I think.
[22:01] Speaker 2: Let me pray for you, Father. I lift up my
[22:05] Speaker 2: dear sister Tammy before your throne of grace. I pray Lord,
[22:10] Speaker 2: that you would give her the peace that passes all understanding. Lord,
[22:14] Speaker 2: if it be your will, reconcile her to her husband,
[22:18] Speaker 2: overcome the rejection, save her wounds, give her peace, touch
[22:26] Speaker 2: her heart, let her know that you love her, that
[22:32] Speaker 2: you have redeemed her, and that you have a point
[22:36] Speaker 2: and purpose to her life. Father, thank you for the
[22:41] Speaker 2: opportunity to talk to Tammy and to be in some
[22:45] Speaker 2: small way an instrument of peace in her life. Today.
[22:50] Speaker 2: I pray Lord that others who are listening to this
[22:53] Speaker 2: conversation will pray for Tammy also, And Lord, bring people
[22:59] Speaker 2: in circumstances to bear on her life and the life
[23:01] Speaker 2: of her husband, so that your glory may be made manifest.
[23:06] Speaker 2: We pray this not by might nor by power, but
[23:08] Speaker 2: by your Spirit. In Christ's name. We pray. Amen, God,
[23:14] Speaker 2: bless you, Dear.
[23:16] Speaker 5: Thank Thanks God, bless you.
[23:18] Speaker 2: Anything else we can do, let us know.
[23:20] Speaker 5: I will thank you. You're really helpful, you everything you know.
[23:25] Speaker 5: I lend Minia stuff from you. I'm so new, but
[23:28] Speaker 5: I lend Minia stuff from you. I really appreciate.
[23:32] Speaker 2: Bless you, Tammy, and hang on. If there's anything we
[23:34] Speaker 2: can do for you in a practical way, let us know.
[23:37] Speaker 5: Okay, thank you.
[23:40] Speaker 2: Now, this is the brokenness of the world. I mean,
[23:43] Speaker 2: you can't try to paper it over. Christianity does not
[23:47] Speaker 2: give us a peaceful way to come to terms with
[23:50] Speaker 2: the difficulties of life. It gives us something far greater,
[23:54] Speaker 2: a way to overcome them through the reality of Christ resurrection.
[23:59] Speaker 2: In this life. Have trouble. And that's the one thing
[24:02] Speaker 2: we have to understand as Christians. We're not coming to
[24:07] Speaker 2: Christ so that we can have a bed of roses.
[24:13] Speaker 2: When we come to Christ, we take up our cross
[24:15] Speaker 2: and we learn to live the crucified life. Spent time
[24:19] Speaker 2: with two men, one who has been imprisoned for twenty
[24:23] Speaker 2: four years of his life, another for seventeen years, and
[24:27] Speaker 2: that one point was under a death sentence, and yet
[24:32] Speaker 2: they have recognized the reality of living the crucified life,
[24:38] Speaker 2: and therefore they have been enabled empowered by God to
[24:42] Speaker 2: live a victorious Christian life in the cauldron of persecution
[24:49] Speaker 2: and difficulty, and even to spair, knowing what awaits them
[24:56] Speaker 2: a new Heaven and a new Earth wherein dwells righteousness,
[24:59] Speaker 2: a time in which all of the wrongs will be righted.
[25:04] Speaker 2: In the meantime, we suffer, but we do not suffer alone.
[25:10] Speaker 2: For the deepest, darkest time of adversity, and we're all
[25:16] Speaker 2: facing that in one way or another. Our heavenly Father
[25:21] Speaker 2: carries us like little lambs. It's not as though he
[25:25] Speaker 2: walks beside us, but he actually carries us in his arms,
[25:31] Speaker 2: and he's utterly trustworthy, for he is the one who
[25:36] Speaker 2: was willing to suffer more than any human being, more
[25:41] Speaker 2: than the cumulative sufferings of all of humanity, so that
[25:43] Speaker 2: we could reconcile to him, not just in time, but
[25:47] Speaker 2: also be reconciled to him in eternity. Well, this has
[25:54] Speaker 2: been a challenging show today. Hopefully it's challenged you to
[25:58] Speaker 2: be one that makes difference for time and for eternity.
[26:01] Speaker 2: We'll see it tomorrow. Right back here, same time, same station.
