On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (03/17/26), Hank shares his thoughts on St. Patrick’s Day. Saint Patrick was born a Brit in the fifth century, but when he was 16, he was captured by Irish pirates and taken to Ireland as a slave. After escaping, he later returned as a missionary. Although all analogies for the Trinity ultimately break down, Saint Patrick supposedly explained this doctrine by using a shamrock. Tradition credits him as the founder of Christianity in Ireland and its first bishop. Certainly, many came to faith in Christ through his ministry. Hank also answers the following questions: Have you heard of the New Apostolic Reformation? Are IHOP and Bethel Church in Redding associated with it? Ryan - Medicine Hat, AB (3:09) Can you explain the doctrine of predestination? Mary - Lincoln, NE (5:39) When we get to heaven will we remember this lifetime? Wesley - Gilmore, TX (9:44) Is Oneness Pentecostalism and its denial of the Trinity a heresy? Lisa - Richmond, VA (15:34) Could you give me some insight into the teaching of Ray Hagin and this idea of Afrocentrism? Shirley - Garner, NC (21:22)

[0:11] Speaker 1: This is the Bible answer Man Broadcast. Your host for
[0:15] Speaker 1: the program is Hank Cannagraph, President of the Christian Research Institute.
[0:20] Speaker 1: We're on the air because life and truth matter. For
[0:24] Speaker 1: more information resources or to donate to CRI, call eight
[0:29] Speaker 1: eight eight seven thousand CRI, or go online to equip
[0:34] Speaker 1: dot org. That's equip dot org. The following program was
[0:39] Speaker 1: pre recorded to start today's Bible answer Man broadcast. Here's
[0:44] Speaker 1: your host, Hank Canagraph.
[0:46] Speaker 2: Thank what you're Indian Happy Saint Patrick's Day today? Of course,
[0:50] Speaker 2: we're celebrating Saint Patrick, who was born a brit and
[0:55] Speaker 2: then he was brought to Ireland as a slave. It
[0:59] Speaker 2: returned to Ireland as a missionary establishing Christianity, and he
[1:03] Speaker 2: was ordained a bishop around four point thirty. He died
[1:07] Speaker 2: on March seventeenth, four to sixty one. So here you
[1:12] Speaker 2: have a fifth century saint still being celebrated by the
[1:17] Speaker 2: masses today, most of whom do not know what they're celebrating.
[1:22] Speaker 2: But I am wearing green today in honor of Saint Patrick,
[1:26] Speaker 2: who is alleged to have explained the Trinity by way
[1:31] Speaker 2: of a shamrock which has three centers and yet is one.
[1:35] Speaker 2: As I've said many times on the Bible Anserman Broadcast,
[1:37] Speaker 2: all illustrations break down when it comes to the Trinity.
[1:42] Speaker 2: So you can't take the illustration and use it as
[1:46] Speaker 2: a perfect illustration, because there is no perfect illustration for
[1:51] Speaker 2: the Trinity. This is one of the great mysteries of
[1:55] Speaker 2: the Christian Faith. Back at the time of Saint Patrick,
[2:00] Speaker 2: the Irish practiced and native based form of paganism, and
[2:05] Speaker 2: he brings Christianity the teaching of the great mystery of
[2:08] Speaker 2: the Christian faith, the Trinity, the death, the resurrection of
[2:12] Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, and many many people come to faith in
[2:17] Speaker 2: Christ as a result of his life, his testimony, his ministry.
[2:24] Speaker 2: Of course, the celebration of the life is Saint Patrick
[2:27] Speaker 2: falls sort of in the center of Lent, a time
[2:30] Speaker 2: during which we remember our sinfulness, we repent afresh, and
[2:34] Speaker 2: we see God's grace and forgiveness from the sickness of sin.
[2:38] Speaker 2: We rise up to union with Christ, as Christ himself
[2:43] Speaker 2: has risen from the dead. We're taking your questions right
[2:47] Speaker 2: here on the Bible answer Man Broadcast or contact information.
[2:50] Speaker 2: You'll find it on the web to be equipped dot
[2:54] Speaker 2: org via the male of box eighty five hundred, Charlotte,
[2:57] Speaker 2: North Carolina, zip code two one, and there's always our
[3:02] Speaker 2: resource Consulted standing by Triple eight seven thousand and the
[3:07] Speaker 2: letters c RIRI right to the phone calls first up
[3:10] Speaker 2: Ryan Medicine, Hat, Alberta, Canada.
[3:13] Speaker 3: Hi Ryan, thanks a lot for taking my call. I
[3:17] Speaker 3: appreciate what you do and just standing for the truth
[3:20] Speaker 3: with all the craziness is out there today. I wanted
[3:24] Speaker 3: to ask you if you've heard of the New Apostolic
[3:27] Speaker 3: Reformation and if you believe that the I HOP along
[3:34] Speaker 3: with Bethel Church and reading and stuff, is part of it,
[3:36] Speaker 3: because I think there's a place here where I live
[3:39] Speaker 3: that's affiliated with them too, because they're really closely. They
[3:43] Speaker 3: do a lot of the same practices as I HOP
[3:45] Speaker 3: with contemplative prayer and you know, non biblical spiritual warfare things,
[3:52] Speaker 3: and they just really take a lot of things out
[3:54] Speaker 3: of contact. And I have some people that I care
[3:57] Speaker 3: about and love that are involved and just want learn
[4:01] Speaker 3: your opinion on that and how it coulds speak to him.
[4:03] Speaker 2: Maybe. Yeah, really nothing new here. I wrote about this
[4:06] Speaker 2: basic movement in my book Counterfeit Revival. Many many years ago.
[4:11] Speaker 2: But this is a movement that involves the people that
[4:15] Speaker 2: you're talking about, a Reck Joyner, Bill Johnson, Cindy Jacobs,
[4:20] Speaker 2: Mark Sharona, and many more. And many of these teachers
[4:24] Speaker 2: have this notion that there are super apostles and prophets
[4:29] Speaker 2: among us today and we're the Biblical prophets to appear
[4:33] Speaker 2: in our midst Well, they'd be asking the prophets of
[4:37] Speaker 2: today for their autograph. And I think this is a
[4:41] Speaker 2: very sick movement on a lot of different levels. I
[4:45] Speaker 2: think that if we had a better sense of church history,
[4:49] Speaker 2: we would not be lotting these men who are masquerading
[4:53] Speaker 2: as the greats of the faith when they are certainly
[4:57] Speaker 2: not that. Mike Bickle says that Paul was anxious to
[5:00] Speaker 2: talk to the end time apostles and profits more than
[5:04] Speaker 2: the end time apostles and prophets would have been to
[5:08] Speaker 2: talk to Paul. And he said this because what they
[5:12] Speaker 2: would go and do would be far greater than what
[5:17] Speaker 2: was done by the old Biblical apostles and prophets. And
[5:22] Speaker 2: you have when he's saying this, a lot of the
[5:24] Speaker 2: amens from the crowd, and then he says, and the
[5:26] Speaker 2: saints in the New Testament would wait in line to
[5:29] Speaker 2: greet the apostles today in this generation. Again, all of
[5:35] Speaker 2: this is not new, and I wrote about it and
[5:37] Speaker 2: counterfeit revival. Let's go back to the phone lines and
[5:40] Speaker 2: talk to Mary. She's listening in Lincoln, Nebraska. Hi.
[5:44] Speaker 4: Mary, Oh, Hi, thank you for taking my call.
[5:48] Speaker 2: You're welcome.
[5:48] Speaker 4: I'm confused by a pastor I heard talking about predestination,
[5:55] Speaker 4: and I'm not getting it at all. It seemed to
[5:59] Speaker 4: be like we were chosen by God, but some aren't,
[6:05] Speaker 4: and so then what's the use kind of thing? And
[6:08] Speaker 4: so I always really like an insight from you on this. Please.
[6:13] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, in the framework that you're describing, the
[6:16] Speaker 2: idea is that God predestined some and others are not predestined,
[6:22] Speaker 2: which is to say, God creates everyone in such a
[6:26] Speaker 2: way that they cannot respond to the wooing of the
[6:29] Speaker 2: Holy Spirit, but then He regenerates some, and when they
[6:34] Speaker 2: are regenerated, they can then respond to the wooing of
[6:37] Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit. However, those who are not predestined, they
[6:41] Speaker 2: cannot respond to the wooing of the Holy Spirit anymore
[6:45] Speaker 2: than a cow can fly. So that is an idea.
[6:49] Speaker 2: It is very prevalent within the Reform tradition. The Early Church,
[6:54] Speaker 2: of course, did not hold to this. The Early Church
[6:57] Speaker 2: believed in libertarian freedom that we as human beings have
[7:02] Speaker 2: the ability to act or to act otherwise, we can
[7:05] Speaker 2: either respond to the wooing of the Holy Spirit or
[7:08] Speaker 2: reject the wooing of the Holy Spirit. So this tradition
[7:13] Speaker 2: is very popular in the modern day Church, but not
[7:16] Speaker 2: all churches adhere to it. So this is one of
[7:19] Speaker 2: those in house debates amongst Christians. And one of the
[7:24] Speaker 2: reasons we've taken this seriously is because this question gets
[7:27] Speaker 2: asked so often on the Bible ance Man broadcast. We
[7:29] Speaker 2: actually did a debate in the Christian Research Journal between
[7:33] Speaker 2: a Calvinist who holds to this idea, this framework that
[7:37] Speaker 2: you identified, and a non Calvinist that does not. So
[7:42] Speaker 2: by reading this debate in print you can get an
[7:45] Speaker 2: idea of how to test what is being said in
[7:49] Speaker 2: light to scripture and then hold fast to that which
[7:52] Speaker 2: is good. There are the Calvinists who go back to
[7:55] Speaker 2: the Calvin quotes. Calvin said, God not only foresaw the
[7:59] Speaker 2: fall the first man and in him the ruin of
[8:02] Speaker 2: his posterity, but also at his own pleasure arranged it.
[8:06] Speaker 2: The counter to that, of course, would be what scripture says,
[8:10] Speaker 2: where the Lord himself is speaking and says, as I live,
[8:15] Speaker 2: I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked,
[8:19] Speaker 2: but that rather they turn from their wicked ways and live.
[8:25] Speaker 2: So this is one of those issues that I think
[8:27] Speaker 2: we have to have a lot of grace in debating.
[8:30] Speaker 2: I call it an antinomy. There's a tension in scripture
[8:34] Speaker 2: that we have to be cognizant of, which is to say,
[8:38] Speaker 2: on the one hand, we can say we choose our path.
[8:41] Speaker 2: On the other hand, we know God directs our steps,
[8:45] Speaker 2: we know that God is sovereign. On the other hand,
[8:47] Speaker 2: we know that what we do really does matter. So
[8:51] Speaker 2: I have tried during my ministry to be as collegial
[8:55] Speaker 2: as I can about this debate, having many great friends
[9:00] Speaker 2: in the Reform tradition, including my father, by the way,
[9:03] Speaker 2: who was a Reform pastor. We debated this subject after
[9:07] Speaker 2: I came to faith in Christ many many times. But
[9:10] Speaker 2: I have no doubt about my dad's salvation and he
[9:12] Speaker 2: had no doubt about mine.
[9:14] Speaker 4: Okay, well, I really appreciate your explanation. That helped a
[9:17] Speaker 4: whole lot.
[9:19] Speaker 2: Well, thank you, for your call, and please be gracious.
[9:22] Speaker 2: I mean, it does stir up incredible passions. But as
[9:26] Speaker 2: I say, some of the most godly people that I
[9:29] Speaker 2: know in the Christian world today are on the other
[9:31] Speaker 2: side of this debate from me, and I've learned to
[9:35] Speaker 2: debate this in a collegial fashion and recognize the gifting
[9:38] Speaker 2: of those that I disagree with on this very sillient
[9:41] Speaker 2: and important point. Thanks for your call. Let's go back
[9:44] Speaker 2: to the phone line. Doctor Wesley. Wesley's listening in Gilmore, Texas.
[9:48] Speaker 2: Hi Wesley, Hey, Hey, thanks for everything that you do,
[9:51] Speaker 2: my pleasure.
[9:53] Speaker 1: Okay, my question is when we make it to Heaven,
[9:56] Speaker 1: do you believe that we will we'll remember this lifetime. Yeah.
[10:00] Speaker 2: I think we're going to remember this lifetime. We're going
[10:03] Speaker 2: to remember what we have been saved from. I don't
[10:06] Speaker 2: think we're going to have less information when we enter
[10:10] Speaker 2: the New Jerusalem than we do now. I think we'll
[10:12] Speaker 2: have more information and we will forever be grateful for
[10:18] Speaker 2: the passion of the Christ, the one who was willing
[10:21] Speaker 2: to suffer more than any human being, more than the
[10:24] Speaker 2: cumultive sufferings of all of humanity, so that we could
[10:27] Speaker 2: be reconciled to him for a time and for eternity.
[10:30] Speaker 2: So yes, I do believe we will remember this life
[10:34] Speaker 2: in the life to come, both in the intermediate state,
[10:37] Speaker 2: which is a state my father is in right now
[10:40] Speaker 2: he's absent from the body, he's present with the Lord,
[10:43] Speaker 2: and also in the eternal state. I've written about this
[10:45] Speaker 2: in my book After Life. What you need to know
[10:47] Speaker 2: about Heaven, the hereafter, and there the experiences. You can
[10:50] Speaker 2: find that on the web at equipped dot org. We'll
[10:52] Speaker 2: be right back with more answers to your questions right
[10:55] Speaker 2: here on the Bible answer Man Broadcast, so please stay

[12:05] Speaker 1: wildly popular near death experience book Proof of Heaven assures
[12:09] Speaker 1: us that no matter what we do in this life,
[12:12] Speaker 1: only unconditional love and joy await us in the world
[12:15] Speaker 1: to come. But our Lord warned that while the gate
[12:18] Speaker 1: to Hell is wide, the road to it broad, and
[12:21] Speaker 1: those who enter through it are many, the gate is
[12:24] Speaker 1: narrow and the way is hard that leads to life,
[12:26] Speaker 1: and those who find it are few. Your generous support,
[12:30] Speaker 1: let's Hank Hanograph and see Uri speak out against the
[12:33] Speaker 1: lies that lead to Hell. In appreciation for your gift, today,

[13:01] Speaker 5: Hank Hanigraph has dedicated his life to defending truth because
[13:04] Speaker 5: truth matters. Yet an encounter with Christians in the Underground
[13:08] Speaker 5: Church of China left Hanograph contemplating his Christian experience. They
[13:12] Speaker 5: were experiencing something beyond truth. They were experiencing life. Truth Matters,
[13:18] Speaker 5: Life Matters More. By Hank Hanigraph is two books in one.
[13:21] Speaker 5: Because Truth Matters, Part one equips Christians to defend the
[13:24] Speaker 5: essential truths of the historic Christian faith. In Part two,
[13:28] Speaker 5: Hank explains why life matters More and how we can

[14:00] Speaker 1: Anyone who's been paying attention knows there's a war going on,
[14:04] Speaker 1: not just on traditional morality, civility, and decency, but even
[14:08] Speaker 1: more fundamentally on historic notions of truth. And the enemy
[14:12] Speaker 1: isn't just the onslaught of fake news facilitated by a
[14:16] Speaker 1: post truth culture and turbocharged by growing legions of ideological spinductors.
[14:21] Speaker 1: Note the real enemies of truth range from postmodernist convictions
[14:25] Speaker 1: that there is no objective truth to militant scientism that
[14:29] Speaker 1: claims that only science can determine truth and religion is
[14:33] Speaker 1: little more than primitive superstitions. But CRI Support Team members
[14:37] Speaker 1: are not waving a white flag of surrender. They're holding
[14:40] Speaker 1: the fort by undergirding everyone of Christian Research Institute's mind
[14:45] Speaker 1: shaping and life changing outreaches twenty four to seven. To

[15:07] Speaker 1: Now back to the Bible answer Man broadcast and your
[15:10] Speaker 1: host and Canagraph.
[15:12] Speaker 2: Thank you much, Randy, and my thanks to all of
[15:14] Speaker 2: those who have joined the support team. I was personalizing
[15:18] Speaker 2: some books to new members of the CII Support Team,
[15:22] Speaker 2: and I'm grateful for everyone who joins CRI's support team.
[15:27] Speaker 2: Without you, we simply could not do what we do,
[15:31] Speaker 2: not only here, but around the world. Let's go back
[15:34] Speaker 2: to the phone lines. Lisa listening in Richmond, Virginia.
[15:38] Speaker 6: Hi, Lisa, Hello, thank you for having me.
[15:42] Speaker 2: You're welcome I have.
[15:44] Speaker 6: Some friends who believe in Jesus only or oneness Pentecostal doctrine,
[15:50] Speaker 6: and they don't believe in the Trinity. And I wanted
[15:54] Speaker 6: to know, is that a heresy or is that feel
[15:58] Speaker 6: a form of Christianity.
[16:01] Speaker 2: Well, it's a horrendous heresy. You think about the fact
[16:05] Speaker 2: that independent of the universe, God would be a God
[16:10] Speaker 2: who is morally defective because he could not exercise the
[16:14] Speaker 2: attribute of love. Love always requires a lover and one
[16:19] Speaker 2: who is beloved and a witness to that love. And
[16:23] Speaker 2: within the Trinity you have that independent of the universe. Now,
[16:28] Speaker 2: when God spoken the universe leptin to existence, there are
[16:31] Speaker 2: people to love. But prior to that time, and I'm
[16:35] Speaker 2: using that word in sort of an anthropomorphic sense, because
[16:39] Speaker 2: there was no time prior to the time that God
[16:42] Speaker 2: spoke in the universe came into existence, so please understand
[16:46] Speaker 2: that qualification. But independent of the universe, there would be
[16:50] Speaker 2: no one to love. Now that the universe has been created,
[16:55] Speaker 2: as well as those who are creating the image of God,
[16:58] Speaker 2: we can be brought into the fellowship of the Trinity.
[17:01] Speaker 2: But independent of the universe that would not have been
[17:04] Speaker 2: the case. So the ramifications of this idea, which very
[17:08] Speaker 2: very prevalent in the Muslim religion, now has crept into Pentecostalism,
[17:14] Speaker 2: and Pentecostalism rightly at the very beginning announced this as
[17:18] Speaker 2: a heresy. In it most certainly is it is a
[17:21] Speaker 2: pernicious heresy?
[17:24] Speaker 6: Should I be fellowship in with them?
[17:26] Speaker 2: Well, look, I mean there are lots of people that
[17:30] Speaker 2: have an absence of knowledge in this regard, but this
[17:33] Speaker 2: is something that is what we call an essential of
[17:37] Speaker 2: the historic Christian faith. So if you are in that
[17:41] Speaker 2: kind of a context, you want to only be in
[17:44] Speaker 2: that kind of a context as a witness. Because remember, oneness.
[17:49] Speaker 2: Pentecostalism holds to a litany of legalistic prescriptions, including the
[17:55] Speaker 2: test of re baptism by their formula with evidences speaking
[18:00] Speaker 2: in tongues. Why by their formula because they don't accept
[18:04] Speaker 2: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as one God with
[18:11] Speaker 2: three persons that are forever distinct. They reject that. Now
[18:18] Speaker 2: in the Oneness Pentecostal tradition, no tongues, no salvation, And
[18:23] Speaker 2: this puts tremendous socio psychological pressure on adherence to conjure
[18:27] Speaker 2: up the gift of tongues, because those who do not
[18:30] Speaker 2: speak in tongues are thought to be lacking in faith
[18:32] Speaker 2: or to be entirely unrepentant. But let's go back to
[18:36] Speaker 2: the error. I often said error begets error. The belief
[18:40] Speaker 2: that one must be baptized only in the name of
[18:43] Speaker 2: Jesus has led the oneness Pentecostal to the further error
[18:47] Speaker 2: that Jesus is himself the Father, the Son, and the
[18:49] Speaker 2: Holy Spirit. So again they don't hold to one God
[18:52] Speaker 2: revealed in three persons eternally distinct, but to three manifestations
[18:56] Speaker 2: of one God revealed in Jesus. And many will go
[19:01] Speaker 2: as far as to say that the doctrine of the
[19:04] Speaker 2: Trinity is pagan polytheistic philosophy. What's really interesting about this
[19:10] Speaker 2: is the oneness Pentecostals have taken God and redefine God
[19:16] Speaker 2: in a manner that is explicable to them. True Christians
[19:20] Speaker 2: always acknowledge that God is beyond our comprehension. On the
[19:24] Speaker 2: one hand, he is knowable through the graces of Christ
[19:29] Speaker 2: the person in the work of Jesus Christ. But on
[19:31] Speaker 2: the other hand, he's ineffable. He's unknowable in his essence.
[19:34] Speaker 2: And so we bow before the mystery of God. Cis
[19:39] Speaker 2: Lewis said, the man made religions are always the made
[19:42] Speaker 2: up religions, and they're easy to understand because they're made
[19:47] Speaker 2: in human likeness as opposed to being deeply, deeply impressed
[19:53] Speaker 2: with the mystery of God, who is beyond all human comprehension.
[19:58] Speaker 6: I agree with you totally. I've done a lot of research.
[20:04] Speaker 6: I actually, twenty years ago went through that and got
[20:08] Speaker 6: baptized again the name of Jesus. And you know, I'm
[20:12] Speaker 6: a Trinitarian because that's something I was raised in the
[20:15] Speaker 6: Baptist and I believe it. I understand. I believe the God,
[20:19] Speaker 6: the Father's Son, and Holy Spirit in the three or one.
[20:22] Speaker 6: But I guess I'm right now feeling uncomfortable because we've
[20:27] Speaker 6: come to a cross road and a couple of relationships
[20:30] Speaker 6: that I have, frankly, because we always get to conversations
[20:36] Speaker 6: and that's where we have to, you know, divide, because
[20:38] Speaker 6: I don't believe that. And I'm wondering if it's like
[20:42] Speaker 6: you said, it's at a point where it's more I
[20:45] Speaker 6: guess you would call friendship, not even as a witness,
[20:49] Speaker 6: because it's being rejected. The Trinity is being rejected. So
[20:53] Speaker 6: should I even be an association with someone who rejects
[20:57] Speaker 6: the Trinity.
[20:57] Speaker 2: Well, I think so. I mean Christ states with prostitutes
[21:01] Speaker 2: and sinners because he wanted to reach them, and I
[21:03] Speaker 2: think we want to do the same thing. Now we're
[21:05] Speaker 2: not able to worship the same God because they're worshiping
[21:09] Speaker 2: a God who is morally defective. But yes, I mean,
[21:12] Speaker 2: I think it's important, especially with your background, to always
[21:16] Speaker 2: be available as a witness.
[21:18] Speaker 6: Amen, thank you, you got it.
[21:21] Speaker 2: Thank you so much for your call. Surely next in Garner,
[21:23] Speaker 2: North Carolina.
[21:24] Speaker 7: High Shirley, Hey, thank you for taking my call.
[21:29] Speaker 2: It is my pleasure.
[21:31] Speaker 7: I was wondering if you could give some insight regarding
[21:34] Speaker 7: the teaching of ray Hagen and this philosophy of afrocentric
[21:41] Speaker 7: I like to know is it calltic? Because I understand it.
[21:45] Speaker 7: They are indicating that vibent characters are fake. Jesus does
[21:50] Speaker 7: not exist per meditation over prayer. So how do I
[21:55] Speaker 7: respond to someone who has defected from the Christian faith
[21:59] Speaker 7: and embraced this.
[22:01] Speaker 2: Well? And the answer to that is always be ready
[22:04] Speaker 2: to give an answer or reason for the hope that
[22:06] Speaker 2: lies within you with gentleness and with respect. You need
[22:10] Speaker 2: to be able to respond to these kinds of claims
[22:15] Speaker 2: in a post truth culture. Ray Hagen's is very critical,
[22:19] Speaker 2: as you say, of biblical, historic orthodox Christianity, and you're
[22:25] Speaker 2: absolute right. He claims Christianity is based on pre Christian
[22:28] Speaker 2: Egyptian religions and the like, Jesus never existed, and what
[22:34] Speaker 2: he's communicating needs to be countered. First of all, let
[22:37] Speaker 2: me say that on a very simplistic level, we can
[22:41] Speaker 2: say that he is wrong because virtually all scholarship today,
[22:47] Speaker 2: both secular and spiritual, concedes the historicity of Jesus Christ.
[22:54] Speaker 2: Now why is that? Will archaeology and history demonstrate, beyond
[23:00] Speaker 2: the peradventure of a doubt, that Jesus Christ lived. A
[23:03] Speaker 2: great example is Tacitus, the greatest historian of the first century. He,
[23:11] Speaker 2: though an enemy of Christianity, acknowledges that Christ lived and
[23:17] Speaker 2: was crucified, and the same could be said by many
[23:22] Speaker 2: other ancient historians. Apart from a biblical worldview, like the
[23:26] Speaker 2: Jewish Josephus writing to Please the Romans, or Sweetonius, author
[23:32] Speaker 2: of the Twelve Caesars, and on and on it goes.
[23:34] Speaker 2: The reality is there's little doubt today except in fringe groups,
[23:41] Speaker 2: that Jesus Christ existed. Of course, he existed. Archaeology and
[23:45] Speaker 2: history underscore that emphatically. So Ray Hagens is simply living
[23:50] Speaker 2: in a reality that does not correspond to reality. And
[23:55] Speaker 2: the idea that christian is based on pre Christian Egyptian
[23:58] Speaker 2: religion is simply false. I mean, many of those religions
[24:02] Speaker 2: were syncretistic. Christianity is anything but syncretistic. It claims that
[24:06] Speaker 2: Christ is the Way, the truth, and the life. It
[24:10] Speaker 2: is completely different and cannot cohere with other religions because
[24:15] Speaker 2: it is diametrically opposed to the notion of other religions
[24:19] Speaker 2: that we can reach up and become acceptable to God
[24:22] Speaker 2: or whatever one perceives as God by one's own goodness.
[24:27] Speaker 2: In Christianity, we say only Christ could do what we
[24:30] Speaker 2: could never do, and so God reaches down so that
[24:34] Speaker 2: we could have a relationship with Him for not only time,
[24:38] Speaker 2: but also for eternity. So this is a very very
[24:42] Speaker 2: false belief system and should be vigorously countered. But when
[24:47] Speaker 2: you do that, we do that not in a combative way,
[24:50] Speaker 2: but with gentleness and with respect. We simply communicate the
[24:53] Speaker 2: truth that Christ really lived, that he really rose from
[24:59] Speaker 2: the dead. The compelling argument for the resurrection is found
[25:03] Speaker 2: in First Corinthians, chapter fifteen. Christ suffered fatal torment. The
[25:07] Speaker 2: tomb was empty. Christianity cannot survive an identifiable tomb containing
[25:12] Speaker 2: the corpse of Christ. Christ appeared and gave many convincing
[25:16] Speaker 2: proofs that he had risen from the dead. First he
[25:19] Speaker 2: appeared to Peter, then to the twelve, after that to
[25:22] Speaker 2: more than five hundred of the brothers, most of whom
[25:27] Speaker 2: are still living, says Paul, at the time, though some
[25:30] Speaker 2: have fallen asleep. In other words, they're ready to be
[25:32] Speaker 2: cross examined. If what I'm saying is not true. Then
[25:35] Speaker 2: he appears to James. Then he appears to all the
[25:37] Speaker 2: Apostles and the Impulse. As last of all, he appeared
[25:41] Speaker 2: also to me, as one abnormally born. As a result
[25:44] Speaker 2: of the post resurrection appearances of Christ, the disciples were
[25:49] Speaker 2: radically transformed from scared and scattered to disciples who were
[25:55] Speaker 2: willing to face the tyrant, Stranger, Steele, the Glyons, gory Man,
[25:59] Speaker 2: the Fire of one thousand deaths. Thanks for steading with
