[0:45] Speaker 1: question or to make a health related comment is eight
[0:47] Speaker 1: hundred six oh six eighty eight twenty two. Eight hundred
[0:51] Speaker 1: six oh six eighty eight twenty two. That's eight hundred
[0:55] Speaker 1: six zero six eighty eight twenty two. It's the Doctor
[0:59] Speaker 1: Bob Martin Show.
[1:00] Speaker 2: Good Day America. You are listening to the pulse of
[1:04] Speaker 2: a nation reclaiming its health. I'm doctor Adam Brockman, and
[1:07] Speaker 2: you're tuned into Health Talk America presents the Doctor Bob
[1:11] Speaker 2: Martin Show. And Folks, if you thought the last few
[1:14] Speaker 2: years were a roller coaster. I want you to buckle up.
[1:17] Speaker 2: We're in the middle of a health revolution that is
[1:20] Speaker 2: moving faster than a New York minute, and we've got
[1:23] Speaker 2: a great, massive show ahead of you. This hour, we're
[1:26] Speaker 2: going to dive deep into the health headlines, and we're
[1:30] Speaker 2: talking about the new MAHA action plan coming out of Washington.
[1:34] Speaker 2: We have a super pollen that's making your sinuses feel
[1:38] Speaker 2: like they've been stuffed with fiberglass, and a bit of
[1:43] Speaker 2: cloak and dagger drama involving doctor Fauci's inner circle. And
[1:48] Speaker 2: if you want to join in the conversation, the phone
[1:50] Speaker 2: lines are open at eight hundred six zero six eight
[1:54] Speaker 2: eight two two. Again, that's eight hundred six zero six
[1:57] Speaker 2: eight eighty two to two, and you can find every
[2:00] Speaker 2: we discuss, including our archive shows and telehealth resources, over
[2:05] Speaker 2: at doctor bob dot com. That's spelling out the word
[2:08] Speaker 2: doctor doct r bob dot com, or by calling our
[2:13] Speaker 2: eight hundred number, which is eight hundred six zero six
[2:17] Speaker 2: eight eighty two to two. Okay, let's go ahead and
[2:20] Speaker 2: get into our health headlines this week. Our lead story
[2:42] Speaker 2: this morning is a total paradigm shift. Health and Human
[2:45] Speaker 2: Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior has officially pulled the
[2:49] Speaker 2: trigger on the MAHA Action Plan and again, MAHA stands
[2:53] Speaker 2: for Make America Healthy Again. And this week they've set
[2:57] Speaker 2: their sights on a massive target, and that's the over
[3:00] Speaker 2: prescription of psychiatric medications in our children and young adults.
[3:05] Speaker 2: In the staggering data, it suggests that nearly one in
[3:08] Speaker 2: ten children in the country are on some form of
[3:11] Speaker 2: psychotropic drug. We're talking about a system that has spent
[3:15] Speaker 2: decades looking at a child with too much energy or
[3:18] Speaker 2: a teenager that's struggling with social isolation and saying, here,
[3:23] Speaker 2: take this pill, rather than asking what are they eating,
[3:27] Speaker 2: or are they moving? Are are they getting enough sunlight?
[3:31] Speaker 2: And this MAHA initiative is pushing for a sixty percent
[3:35] Speaker 2: reduction in new prescriptions for non acute cases over the
[3:38] Speaker 2: next three years. And that's pivoting instead towards nutrition in psychotherapy.
[3:44] Speaker 2: And get this exercise. Imagine that a government body suggesting
[3:49] Speaker 2: that a walk in the park might be more effective
[3:52] Speaker 2: than a chemical intervention. And this isn't just a we're
[3:55] Speaker 2: talking about a policy change. It's a direct challenge to
[3:59] Speaker 2: the pill for every ill status quo that has kept
[4:02] Speaker 2: our nation tethered to the pharmacy counter and we've been
[4:06] Speaker 2: talking about this for years on the show. Health Sovereignty
[4:09] Speaker 2: starts with the realization that your body is not a
[4:12] Speaker 2: machine that needs constant chemical collaboration. It's a biological ecosystem
[4:18] Speaker 2: that just needs the right inputs to thrive. In This
[4:21] Speaker 2: MAHA plan is the first time that we've seen a
[4:23] Speaker 2: federal push to actually address the cause of the mental
[4:28] Speaker 2: health crisis rather than just masking the symptoms. Now, okay,
[4:32] Speaker 2: moving on, and while they're fighting over pills in DC,
[4:36] Speaker 2: you might be fighting just to take a clear breath.
[4:40] Speaker 2: Have you noticed that your allergies are hitting differently this week?
[4:44] Speaker 2: And you're not imagining that. We are officially in the
[4:47] Speaker 2: middle of what researchers are calling a pollen tsunami. We
[4:51] Speaker 2: touched on this last hour, but thanks to an unusually
[4:55] Speaker 2: warm and wet winter across the Midwest and Northeast, we
[4:59] Speaker 2: are seeing super pollen. And these aren't your grandfather's allergens.
[5:04] Speaker 2: These grains are more protein dense, and they're more aggressive,
[5:08] Speaker 2: and they are staying in the air longer, and in
[5:11] Speaker 2: some areas, pollen counts are eighty percent higher than the
[5:15] Speaker 2: ten year average. So most people they respond to this
[5:18] Speaker 2: by running to the drug store for anahistamine. But here's
[5:21] Speaker 2: the problem. Those drugs just dray you out and they
[5:25] Speaker 2: hide that fire so they don't put it out. You've
[5:28] Speaker 2: got to be proactive, and this is where nasal hygiene
[5:32] Speaker 2: becomes your absolute best friend. And if you think about it,
[5:35] Speaker 2: if you wash your hands, you brush your teeth, But
[5:38] Speaker 2: when was the last time you washed your nose. So
[5:41] Speaker 2: that's why doctor Bob and I were huge proponents of
[5:43] Speaker 2: xylotol based sprays like Clear for a reason. Xylotol doesn't
[5:48] Speaker 2: just rinse, it makes the tissues in your nose slippery,
[5:51] Speaker 2: so that super pollen in the microscopic invaders can't stick
[5:56] Speaker 2: around and trigger the inflammatory cascade. So if you want
[5:59] Speaker 2: to protect your respiratory health this season, you have to
[6:02] Speaker 2: stop the invasion at the front door. Don't wait until
[6:05] Speaker 2: you're miserable. Arm your immune system. Now. Now, let's move
[6:10] Speaker 2: on and talk about a story doctor Bob and I
[6:12] Speaker 2: discussed in the first hour this week, and this should
[6:15] Speaker 2: have every American demanding answers. We're seeing this fallout from
[6:21] Speaker 2: the indictment of doctor David Morin's and that was a
[6:24] Speaker 2: top aid to doctor Anthony Fauci, and new reports are
[6:28] Speaker 2: surfacing about the use of secret codes in private email
[6:32] Speaker 2: accounts within the NIAID to intentionally bypass the Freedom of
[6:38] Speaker 2: Information Act requests. And this is the definition of that
[6:42] Speaker 2: cloak and dagger medicine. We're talking about high level officials
[6:45] Speaker 2: allegedly using misspellings of keywords like let's use the example Fauci,
[6:51] Speaker 2: and they're using extra letters or symbols to ensure that
[6:55] Speaker 2: every time a citizen or journalist search for the records,
[6:58] Speaker 2: nothing would show up. And you might ask, why does
[7:01] Speaker 2: this matter to yourself? Because it proves that the institutions
[7:05] Speaker 2: we are told to trust have been operating in the shadows.
[7:09] Speaker 2: It highlights a lack of transparency that has directly impacted
[7:14] Speaker 2: public health policy for years. And when the data is hidden,
[7:18] Speaker 2: your ability to make informed decisions for your family is stolen.
[7:22] Speaker 2: And that's why we preach that health sovereigntry on the show.
[7:26] Speaker 2: You cannot outsource your survival to the government that operates
[7:30] Speaker 2: with hidden folders. You have to be your own best doctor.
[7:34] Speaker 2: And you can find out more about this story in
[7:38] Speaker 2: what Doctor Bob and I discussed in the first hour
[7:40] Speaker 2: over at our show topic section at doctor Bob dot com.
[7:44] Speaker 2: And knowledge isn't just power, that's also your best defense.
[7:49] Speaker 2: And finally, this week we're going to talk about the
[7:51] Speaker 2: headlines that are screaming about a handta virus outbreak on
[7:55] Speaker 2: a cruise ship currently in the Atlantic, and the World
[7:58] Speaker 2: Health Organization is already issuing global alerts, and the media
[8:03] Speaker 2: is doing what it does best, They start up a
[8:05] Speaker 2: frenzy of fear faster than you can say quarantine. But
[8:09] Speaker 2: let's take a breath and look at this through the
[8:11] Speaker 2: lens of terrain theory. We're talking about. Conventional medicine wants
[8:16] Speaker 2: you to be terrified of the germ, this invisible enemy
[8:20] Speaker 2: that's lurking on every handrail. But as the legendary Lewis
[8:25] Speaker 2: Pastor supposedly emitted on his deathbed, that the microbe is nothing,
[8:31] Speaker 2: it's the terrain that is everything. So this hannavirus, it's serious, sure,
[8:37] Speaker 2: but it thrives in a specific environment a cruise ship,
[8:41] Speaker 2: for example, with its recirculated air, in its high stress
[8:44] Speaker 2: travel schedules, and let's be honest, less than ideal buffet nutrition.
[8:50] Speaker 2: That's a playground for pathogens. And so if your internal
[8:55] Speaker 2: terrain is strong, if your vitamin level D your vitamin
[8:59] Speaker 2: D levels are optimized, and if your gut microbiome is diverse,
[9:04] Speaker 2: and if you're managing your stress, your body is in
[9:08] Speaker 2: an hospital host for these invaders. So stop living on
[9:12] Speaker 2: the sphere of the germ of the week scenario. Instead,
[9:16] Speaker 2: focus on building an immune system that can stand its ground.
[9:20] Speaker 2: Whether it's a virus on a boat or a bacteria
[9:23] Speaker 2: in your backyard. Your resilience is the only thing that
[9:27] Speaker 2: you can control. Okay, folks. So we've got a packed
[9:32] Speaker 2: hour ahead coming up. This hour is going to be
[9:34] Speaker 2: your health alternative of the week in a health mystery
[9:37] Speaker 2: that you won't want to miss. And we got to
[9:40] Speaker 2: take a quick break, but I don't want you to
[9:42] Speaker 2: wander off just yet. If you've got a burning health question,
[9:45] Speaker 2: We've got answers for you. I want you to dial
[9:47] Speaker 2: our toll free hotline at eight hundred six zero six
[9:50] Speaker 2: eighty two to two. That's where you're going to find
[9:52] Speaker 2: doctor Bob and myself. We're two licensed physicians that we're

[9:58] Speaker 2: path to better health. That's eight hundred six or six
[10:01] Speaker 2: eight eighty two to two. And you might be curious
[10:04] Speaker 2: about natural remedies or wellness hacks, or you just need
[10:07] Speaker 2: some expert advice. We've got you, So pick up that
[10:10] Speaker 2: phone and give us a rain. That's eight hundred and
[10:12] Speaker 2: six er O six eight eight two to two. And
[10:15] Speaker 2: if you're ready to take back your power, are you
[10:17] Speaker 2: ready to stop being a patient and start being that
[10:20] Speaker 2: person again? I want you to go anywhere you're listening to
[10:22] Speaker 2: the Doctor Bob Martin Show on Health Talk America. We'll
[10:25] Speaker 2: be right back after these messages, because someone's gonna stand
[10:31] Speaker 2: by you, and we are back. Welcome back to Health
[10:43] Speaker 2: Talk America presents the Doctor Bob Martin Show. I'm doctor
[10:46] Speaker 2: Adam Brockman. And if folks fever, spring fever isn't just
[10:50] Speaker 2: floating around in the trees, it's showing up in the
[10:53] Speaker 2: choices people are making. Right now, Folks are waking up
[10:56] Speaker 2: from winter. They're opening the front door, catch you a
[11:00] Speaker 2: glimpse in the mirror and asking the same question, how
[11:03] Speaker 2: do I get stronger, leaner, and healthier without chaining myself
[11:07] Speaker 2: to some miserable routine that I'm going to quit in
[11:10] Speaker 2: six weeks. But before we get into this topic, let
[11:13] Speaker 2: me remind you that Your health is your greatest asset,
[11:17] Speaker 2: and it's time you start treating it like that. Everything
[11:20] Speaker 2: that we talk about today, it's archive and expanded upon
[11:23] Speaker 2: at doctor bob dot com. And if you missed our
[11:26] Speaker 2: one where we broke down the Department of Justice latest
[11:30] Speaker 2: moves in the health sector, you need to go back
[11:32] Speaker 2: and listen to that. And if you're feeling stuck or
[11:35] Speaker 2: frustrated or flat out confused by the noise in the
[11:38] Speaker 2: health world, I want you to check out our telehealth
[11:41] Speaker 2: consultations at doctor Bob as well, spawning out the word
[11:44] Speaker 2: doctor docto rbob dot dot com. I'm here to help
[11:48] Speaker 2: you get back to what works. It's simple, effective, biologically
[11:53] Speaker 2: sound strategies. Okay, so now let's talk about this fitness trap.
[11:59] Speaker 2: Every year, millions of Americans rush back into the same cycle.
[12:03] Speaker 2: They sign up for these big box gyms, They buy
[12:06] Speaker 2: a couple of matching outfits, and they walk into this
[12:09] Speaker 2: room full of mirrors, stale sweat, industrial cleaner, and TVs
[12:14] Speaker 2: that are screaming bad news at them, and then they
[12:16] Speaker 2: climb on a machine that lets them move a lot
[12:20] Speaker 2: without actually going anywhere. And that, to me is the
[12:23] Speaker 2: perfect metaphor for modern health culture. We're talking about busy,
[12:27] Speaker 2: and it's not better tired, but not stronger. A troubling
[12:31] Speaker 2: number of people that start these exercise programs. They have
[12:34] Speaker 2: good intentions, and by midsummer they're done with them. Most
[12:38] Speaker 2: people who begin a jim routine this time of year
[12:41] Speaker 2: quit in six weeks, and you wonder why because most
[12:44] Speaker 2: of these routines are built around punishment and not purpose.
[12:48] Speaker 2: The body it craves meaningful movement, and we're talking about
[12:52] Speaker 2: it wants to walk and climb and carry and balance
[12:56] Speaker 2: and breathe and adapt. It does not naturally crazy fluorescent
[13:01] Speaker 2: lights or fixed machines and endless reps done mainly for
[13:04] Speaker 2: a selfie angle. That's where rucking comes in. And honestly,
[13:09] Speaker 2: this is one conversation you don't want to miss. This
[13:12] Speaker 2: is why we were built for this rocking revolution. And
[13:17] Speaker 2: for those of you who haven't heard, the term rucking
[13:19] Speaker 2: is simply walking with a weighted pack. That's it. It's
[13:23] Speaker 2: nothing flashy, it's nothing complicated, but don't let the simplicity
[13:27] Speaker 2: of it fool you. Rucking may be one of the
[13:30] Speaker 2: most effective, overlooked forms of exercise for adults who want
[13:33] Speaker 2: that real world strength in the cardiovascular condition and it
[13:38] Speaker 2: even has it even helps you with better posture and
[13:40] Speaker 2: better bone density in your long term durability. And the
[13:44] Speaker 2: word itself comes from the military culture. Soldiers. They've been
[13:49] Speaker 2: carrying loaded backpacks or rocks for generations and marching these
[13:54] Speaker 2: long distances under these loads has always been a test
[13:58] Speaker 2: of grit and endurance and work. But the bigger point
[14:02] Speaker 2: is that the military didn't invent the human act of
[14:05] Speaker 2: carrying weight over distance. Humanity did. For thousands of years,
[14:09] Speaker 2: our ancestors carried tools, food, water, infants, firewood, supplies in
[14:15] Speaker 2: each other. These load bearing movements is ancient and it's
[14:20] Speaker 2: baked into our design. And that's why rocking feels so
[14:24] Speaker 2: different from machine based exercise. It wakes up systems that
[14:28] Speaker 2: modern life has let go dormant. It asks your feet
[14:32] Speaker 2: and your ankles, your knees, your hips, your spine, lungs, heart,
[14:36] Speaker 2: you name it, your brain to work together as a team.
[14:39] Speaker 2: It's not artificial movement. It's useful movement. And that's the
[14:44] Speaker 2: divide I want you to think about today, functional fitness
[14:48] Speaker 2: versus Jim aesthetics. And look, I'm not antijim. There's a
[14:53] Speaker 2: place for resistance training there's a place for hypertrophy. There's
[14:57] Speaker 2: a place for that building muscle and l looking good,
[15:01] Speaker 2: and I'm all for that, but we've got to be honest.
[15:04] Speaker 2: A lot of fitness world has become theater. It's a
[15:07] Speaker 2: six pack lighting, it's isolated musclework, mirror chasing, selfie chasing,
[15:13] Speaker 2: and machine based movement patterns that don't always transfer into
[15:16] Speaker 2: actual life. And I see this in practice all the time.
[15:20] Speaker 2: People they can cable fly or leg press or preacher
[15:24] Speaker 2: curl like a champion, but they get winded carrying multch
[15:27] Speaker 2: and they tweak their back lifting luggage and they feel
[15:31] Speaker 2: unstable hiking a simple trail. And that's not fitness. That's
[15:35] Speaker 2: specialization that's disguised as health and functional fitness. Ask a
[15:40] Speaker 2: different question. It's not how do I look flexing under
[15:44] Speaker 2: bright lights? But how capable is my body in the
[15:47] Speaker 2: real world? Can I carry groceries? Can I walk a hill?
[15:52] Speaker 2: Can you keep good posture when you're tired or can
[15:55] Speaker 2: you get off the floor easily? Can you travel, garden
[15:58] Speaker 2: or play with your grandkids. It's all a cooler move
[16:02] Speaker 2: furniture and still feel good the next day. That's the
[16:05] Speaker 2: kind of strength that protects your independence, and rocking lives
[16:10] Speaker 2: squarely in that functional lane. It builds a body that
[16:15] Speaker 2: does things, not just a body that poses. So I
[16:19] Speaker 2: want you to join me as we uncover something else here,
[16:22] Speaker 2: and that's Rucking isn't trendy because it's new. It's trendy
[16:26] Speaker 2: because people are rediscovering what works. Human beings didn't evolve
[16:31] Speaker 2: on chrome machines. We evolved on uneven ground or under sunlight,
[16:36] Speaker 2: carrying loads. Hunters they carried meat, mothers and fathers carried children,
[16:42] Speaker 2: Farmers carried buckets, and labors carried tools. So movement has
[16:47] Speaker 2: a purpose, and purpose changes the way your body responds. Today,
[16:51] Speaker 2: the average American spends most of the day sitting, So
[16:55] Speaker 2: then we wonder why the hips tighten up or the
[16:58] Speaker 2: glutes go offline, the upper body rounds forward. This is
[17:03] Speaker 2: the sedentary living and it's a slow leak in the
[17:07] Speaker 2: tire of human performance. So rucking helps to patch that leak.
[17:11] Speaker 2: So let's go ahead and look at the physiology, because
[17:14] Speaker 2: this is where it gets interesting. As a doctor, the
[17:18] Speaker 2: bone density support is one of my favorite parts. Wolf's
[17:22] Speaker 2: law tells us that the bone adapts to the loads
[17:24] Speaker 2: that are placed on it. So the translation is that
[17:27] Speaker 2: your skeleton is listening to the forces you apply. And
[17:31] Speaker 2: then we talk about this cardiovascular health component, and this
[17:35] Speaker 2: is what most people love about rocking. It raises your
[17:38] Speaker 2: heart rate faster than ordinary walking, often significantly without that
[17:43] Speaker 2: pounding of running, and that matters for those adults that
[17:47] Speaker 2: have cranky knees or extra body weight, there are previous injuries.
[17:51] Speaker 2: Running can feel like trying to cash a check your
[17:54] Speaker 2: joints just can't afford. So rucking gives you that middle lane.
[17:57] Speaker 2: And then we live in this world of forward collapse.
[18:00] Speaker 2: We got phones and laptops and steering wheels, couches and
[18:04] Speaker 2: office chairs. This head starts to drift forward, the shoulders round.
[18:08] Speaker 2: In the diaphragm where you're breathing, it gets restricted and
[18:12] Speaker 2: people start living in shallow breathing stress posture all day long.
[18:16] Speaker 2: So a properly fitted ruck it encourages you with an
[18:21] Speaker 2: upright torso, an active core engagement, and better rib cage positioning.
[18:26] Speaker 2: It doesn't just fix everything automatically, but it absolutely trains
[18:29] Speaker 2: your body to organize itself better underload. That has a
[18:32] Speaker 2: huge carryover into your day to day life. And here's
[18:36] Speaker 2: the angle I really want you to hold on to
[18:38] Speaker 2: Rucking is accessible. You don't need a membership, a swipe card,
[18:41] Speaker 2: ten machines, or a complicated app to do it. All
[18:44] Speaker 2: you need is a decent pack, a little weight in
[18:46] Speaker 2: a place to walk. That's freedom, simplicity, and it's health
[18:50] Speaker 2: that you can actually own. So to do this now,
[18:53] Speaker 2: before you start stuffing fifty pounds and some old backpack
[18:56] Speaker 2: and stomping off like you're in boot camp. I want
[18:58] Speaker 2: you to be smart. We want progress, not pain. So
[19:01] Speaker 2: I want you to start with just five to ten
[19:03] Speaker 2: percent of your body weight. So if you weigh two
[19:04] Speaker 2: hundred pounds, ten to twenty pounds is plenty to begin with.
[19:07] Speaker 2: For many beginners, ten pounds is more than enough. And
[19:11] Speaker 2: start with a small session and maybe just fifteen to
[19:13] Speaker 2: twenty minutes on flat ground. Use the right pack. I
[19:17] Speaker 2: want you to choose smart weight. Rock plates are great,
[19:20] Speaker 2: but you can also use bags of rice or water
[19:22] Speaker 2: bladders or even wrapped dumbbells. Just secure them well and
[19:27] Speaker 2: where supportive footwear you know. Use your posture to your
[19:32] Speaker 2: vantage so that chin neutral, the ribs stacked on top
[19:34] Speaker 2: of each other in the core, lightly braced, and use
[19:37] Speaker 2: a natural stride and then you know, respect that recovery.
[19:42] Speaker 2: If your feet, your knees, or your low back are hurting, adjusts,
[19:45] Speaker 2: soreness is feedback, so don't ignore that. So again, I
[19:49] Speaker 2: see many patients in my clinics who are gym fit
[19:52] Speaker 2: but life fragile. They can binge press a house, but
[19:54] Speaker 2: they throw their back out picking up a bag of grocery.
[19:57] Speaker 2: So rucking builds that hard to define kind of strength
[20:01] Speaker 2: that's used to be common, durable legs, capable LUNs, resilient posture,
[20:08] Speaker 2: grip and balance, and the confidence that your body can
[20:10] Speaker 2: handle life. So there it is rucking something for you
[20:15] Speaker 2: to try and read up on. All right, I want
[20:17] Speaker 2: you to stay tuned because when we come back from break,
[20:19] Speaker 2: we're going to get into our health alternative of the Week.

[21:11] Speaker 2: health breakthroughs. Anytime again, call us at eight hundred six
[21:15] Speaker 2: zero six eight A two to two, or find us
[21:17] Speaker 2: at doctor Bob dot com. All right, let's get down
[21:22] Speaker 2: to business. If you're getting hammered by this pollen tsunami,
[21:25] Speaker 2: I want you to think about defense in two places,
[21:28] Speaker 2: and that's your nose and in your mouth. And that's
[21:30] Speaker 2: where the clear in the spree dental defense system come in.
[21:34] Speaker 2: And the common thread is xylotol. So let's start with
[21:37] Speaker 2: a nose clear. Nasal spray is not a drug, not
[21:40] Speaker 2: a steroid, and not one of those products that leaves
[21:44] Speaker 2: you dealing with a rebound congestion. It's a xylotol based
[21:47] Speaker 2: sailing spray. And that matters because xylotol helps make it
[21:51] Speaker 2: harder for those unwanted irritants like pollen, pollutants, and debris
[21:56] Speaker 2: to hang on inside the nasal passages. So if you
[21:58] Speaker 2: think of Clear like a cycle for your airway, you spray,
[22:02] Speaker 2: you wash, you clear in a season when the air
[22:05] Speaker 2: feels thick enough to chew. That is a simple daily
[22:08] Speaker 2: habit that can make a real difference. Now let's connect
[22:12] Speaker 2: that to the mouth, because this is where the story
[22:15] Speaker 2: gets really interesting. The same xylotol that helps support a
[22:18] Speaker 2: cleaner nasal environment is also a powerful tool for oral health.
[22:22] Speaker 2: The Spry Dental Defense system uses xylotol in all its
[22:26] Speaker 2: products like gum, mince, toothpaste, and oral rinses to help
[22:30] Speaker 2: you defend your mouth and teeth against bacteria that contribute
[22:33] Speaker 2: to plaque and tooth decay. And why does this matter
[22:36] Speaker 2: Because harmful bacteria feed on sugars, but xylotol is different.
[22:40] Speaker 2: It helps create an environment that is less friendly to
[22:43] Speaker 2: those troublemakers. So here's the big picture. Clear helps clean
[22:48] Speaker 2: and moisturize the nose during high pollen season, while Spry
[22:52] Speaker 2: helps protect the mouth between brushings and throughout the day.
[22:55] Speaker 2: That's a smart one two punch. Your nose is your
[22:59] Speaker 2: air filter and your mouth is the front door to
[23:01] Speaker 2: the rest of your body. Both deserve daily support. And
[23:05] Speaker 2: I like this approach because it's practical. Use Clear when
[23:08] Speaker 2: you wake up, or before you go to bed, or
[23:11] Speaker 2: after being outside, or anytime your nose feels loaded up.
[23:15] Speaker 2: Then keep Spry gum or mince with you after meals,
[23:18] Speaker 2: in the car, work wherever where brushing isn't an option,
[23:22] Speaker 2: it's it's easy, it's clean, and it's and it fits
[23:25] Speaker 2: all of our lives. So if you want to put
[23:27] Speaker 2: xylotol to work for your health in more than ways
[23:30] Speaker 2: than one, check out Clear for your nasal care in
[23:34] Speaker 2: Spray Dental Defense. For your oral care. You can check
[23:36] Speaker 2: out more at Clear dot com. That's spelled x L
[23:40] Speaker 2: e A R dot com. In the Spray Dental Defense
[23:43] Speaker 2: system in Clear is available at CVS, Target, Vitamin Shop,
[23:47] Speaker 2: Sprouts and all natural grocers. And again for more information,
[23:51] Speaker 2: that's Clear dot com for Spry and Clear, the makers
[23:55] Speaker 2: of Clear nasal sprays in the Spria Dental Defense system.
[23:58] Speaker 2: All right, let's get to our health alternative of the week.
[24:21] Speaker 2: If you were listening to our last segment, you heard
[24:24] Speaker 2: us dive into rocking. We talked about how the simple
[24:28] Speaker 2: act of weighted walking is arguably the greatest fitness hack
[24:32] Speaker 2: for longevity. But here is where the rubber meets the road,
[24:36] Speaker 2: or where the straps meet your shoulders. For our health
[24:39] Speaker 2: alternative of the Week, I'm recommending a very specific tool,
[24:43] Speaker 2: and that's the dedicated rock backpack. The health alternative here
[24:47] Speaker 2: isn't just rocking itself. It's choosing a purpose built rock
[24:51] Speaker 2: backpack over traditional gym gear or a standard book bag.
[24:55] Speaker 2: And when we talk about functional fitness, we're talking about
[24:59] Speaker 2: efficiency safety. A standard backpack is designed to carry notebooks
[25:03] Speaker 2: and laptops, and it's designed to hang low on your back,
[25:06] Speaker 2: pulling your shoulders in into that tech neck slump that
[25:10] Speaker 2: we're trying to escape. And when you put twenty or
[25:13] Speaker 2: thirty or forty pounds in a regular bag, the center
[25:16] Speaker 2: of gravity shifts away from your spine. It creates the
[25:20] Speaker 2: shearing force on your lower back. So you'll end up
[25:22] Speaker 2: burning calories, sure, but you'll also end up in your
[25:26] Speaker 2: chiropractor's office with a lumbar strain, and that'll keep you
[25:28] Speaker 2: on the couch for a month, and that's not the goal.
[25:31] Speaker 2: The dedicated rough backpack is completely different. Animal think of
[25:35] Speaker 2: it as a piece of precision medical equipment that just
[25:39] Speaker 2: happens to look like a gear bag. These packs that
[25:42] Speaker 2: are designed to keep the weight high and tight. Most
[25:45] Speaker 2: of them they have a dedicated internal plate pocket that
[25:49] Speaker 2: keeps the weight pressed firmly against your upper back, right
[25:53] Speaker 2: between your shoulder blades. And why does this matter Because
[25:56] Speaker 2: it forces your body into a position of postural restor.
[26:00] Speaker 2: It pulls your shoulders back, It opens up your chest
[26:03] Speaker 2: and engages your core muscles in a way that actually
[26:06] Speaker 2: corrects the damage that's done by eight hours of staring
[26:09] Speaker 2: at a computer screen. It's an internal scaffolding for your spine. So,
[26:14] Speaker 2: if you're looking for a low impact, high reward alternative
[26:18] Speaker 2: to using traditional cardiovascular like the treadmill that builds bone
[26:24] Speaker 2: density also, which is crucial as we age, especially the
[26:27] Speaker 2: eighty percent of Americans who experience back pain, this is it. It's
[26:32] Speaker 2: a simple walk with your dog or stroll through your
[26:34] Speaker 2: park into a total body strength and conditioning session. So
[26:38] Speaker 2: here's your challenge to stop over complicating your fitness. Grab
[26:42] Speaker 2: a dedicated rock pack, start with ten to fifteen pounds
[26:45] Speaker 2: and just walk. Your heart, your bones, and your posture
[26:47] Speaker 2: will thank you. It's about to taking control of your health.
[26:51] Speaker 2: It's once weighted step at a time, and this is
[26:54] Speaker 2: why Rockiness is our health alternative this week as well.
[26:57] Speaker 2: It comes down to something called Wolf's Law, this physiological principle.
[27:01] Speaker 2: It states that bone growth and remodeling is a response
[27:04] Speaker 2: to the forces that are placed upon it, and as
[27:06] Speaker 2: we age, we lose bone density. That's a process that
[27:09] Speaker 2: accelerates if we only perform unweighted cardiovascular activity like cycling
[27:14] Speaker 2: or swimming. But those are great for your heart, but
[27:17] Speaker 2: they do little for your skeleton. By adding a rough
[27:20] Speaker 2: backpack to your routine, you're providing this gravity tax that
[27:24] Speaker 2: signals your body to keep the bones dancing strong. So
[27:28] Speaker 2: this is what you can do. You can use a
[27:30] Speaker 2: commuter ruck to swap your briefcase for a rock pack.
[27:33] Speaker 2: You can use the grocery ruck, which is walking to
[27:36] Speaker 2: the store and carrying your haul back in a bag
[27:39] Speaker 2: that's designed to handle that load. Or let's talk about
[27:42] Speaker 2: the family ruck. That's well, the kids are on their bikes,
[27:45] Speaker 2: you get a Zone two cardiovascular workout behind them. So
[27:48] Speaker 2: we often think that better health requires more complex solutions,
[27:53] Speaker 2: like expensive supplements, high tech gadgets, or invasive procedures. But
[27:59] Speaker 2: sometimes the best alternative is the simplest one. So don't
[28:02] Speaker 2: wait until your back starts aching or your bone density
[28:04] Speaker 2: scan comes back with troubling numbers. Protect your future self today.
[28:08] Speaker 2: Arm yourself with the right gear and take control of
[28:11] Speaker 2: your environment and rediscover that primal strength that is already
[28:14] Speaker 2: inside of you. For more health alternatives and to hear
[28:17] Speaker 2: the full breakdown of the Rocking Revolution, you can always
[28:20] Speaker 2: listen to our past episodes Rocking Backpack. That is your
[28:24] Speaker 2: health alternative of the week number. Welcome back, doctor Adam
[28:53] Speaker 2: Brockman here, and you're tuned into the Doctor Bob Barden Show.
[28:56] Speaker 2: As we're going through today's conversation together, I want to
[28:59] Speaker 2: remind you of about our incredible listener resources, one being
[29:02] Speaker 2: our email health question form. If you've got a health
[29:05] Speaker 2: question our topic that you'd love us to explore, just

[29:19] Speaker 2: dot com. And remember you can always call our toll
[29:22] Speaker 2: free hotline at eight hundred six zero six eight A
[29:25] Speaker 2: two two. Again, that's eight hundred six zero six eight
[29:28] Speaker 2: eight two two. And I think we've got time for
[29:31] Speaker 2: a caller question. And this is really why we do
[29:34] Speaker 2: the show, and it's the heart of the show and
[29:36] Speaker 2: it's you, the listeners. So we've got a caller question
[29:39] Speaker 2: that's been waiting and I want to get to it
[29:41] Speaker 2: right now because this lady is a dedicated fan and
[29:43] Speaker 2: she's looking for answers.
[29:47] Speaker 3: Hi, this is Mary Beth from Iowa City, Iowa. Just
[29:53] Speaker 3: have a question. Want to know what I can do
[29:56] Speaker 3: or take to prevent a total hip replay? Much? Thank you, goodbye.
[30:02] Speaker 3: I love your radio show, love it dearly goodbye.
[30:07] Speaker 2: Oh thank you, Mary Beth. First of all, thanks for
[30:11] Speaker 2: thank you for the love. It's the listeners like you
[30:14] Speaker 2: that keep us motivated in the truth flowing on the show.
[30:17] Speaker 2: You're asking this million dollar question. About four hundred and
[30:20] Speaker 2: fifty thousand total hip replacements are performed each year in
[30:24] Speaker 2: the US. And while they are marvels of modern engineering,
[30:28] Speaker 2: the best hip is the one God gave you. So
[30:31] Speaker 2: Mary Beth prevented a hip replacement. Isn't just one magic
[30:35] Speaker 2: pill It's a three pronged approach and that includes biomechanics, nutrition,
[30:40] Speaker 2: and regenda support. So first off, let's talk about the biomechanics.
[30:44] Speaker 2: So imagine your pelvis is a bucket full of water.
[30:48] Speaker 2: If that bucket is level the weight of your tourso
[30:51] Speaker 2: it sits perfectly in these hip sockets. But if your
[30:54] Speaker 2: pelvis is tilted, maybe from sitting too much or an
[30:57] Speaker 2: old injury, that bucket is constantly spilling forward or backward.
[31:01] Speaker 2: This puts that sheer force on the labrum in that
[31:04] Speaker 2: cartilage that lines into your hip socket. So if you
[31:08] Speaker 2: think of it like alignment on your car, if your
[31:11] Speaker 2: tires are misaligned, you can buy the most expensive tires
[31:15] Speaker 2: in the world, but they'll still be bald in six months.
[31:18] Speaker 2: So in my clinics, we see that hip pain originates
[31:22] Speaker 2: from pelvic misalignment. So if we can get that bucket
[31:25] Speaker 2: level through chiropractic care or therapy and specialized soft tissue work,
[31:30] Speaker 2: we can stop that grind immediately. So you have to
[31:33] Speaker 2: stop that mechanical war before you can start that actual
[31:36] Speaker 2: repair process. So now let's talk about what you can
[31:40] Speaker 2: take Mary Beth. So, when a joint is failing, it
[31:44] Speaker 2: is usually sitting in this pool of inflammatory acid. We
[31:47] Speaker 2: have to change that chemistry of the joint. So I
[31:50] Speaker 2: want you to look into UC two collagen and this
[31:54] Speaker 2: isn't your standard collagen. This is under natured type two
[31:58] Speaker 2: collagen that actually trains immune system to stop attacking its
[32:02] Speaker 2: own joint tissue. So studies show that it can significantly
[32:06] Speaker 2: be more effective than that old school glucosamine and canjroid
[32:09] Speaker 2: and combo alone though I like those also as building blocks,
[32:14] Speaker 2: and Mary Beth, I want to specifically mention APEX joint minerals.
[32:19] Speaker 2: You can find this at Jointminerals dot com again US
[32:22] Speaker 2: Jointminerals dot com. This is one of those foundational type
[32:26] Speaker 2: of tools that I like because because joints don't need
[32:30] Speaker 2: just the inflammatory support, they need these raw materials. So
[32:34] Speaker 2: these trace minerals help to support that structural side of
[32:37] Speaker 2: the equation, that cartilage, the connective tissue integrity in the
[32:41] Speaker 2: fluid environment that helps the joint glide instead of grind.
[32:46] Speaker 2: And to put out that fire, you also need some
[32:48] Speaker 2: heavy hitters like turmeric. Uh. These are like Nature's I
[32:53] Speaker 2: be profen, but without that leaky gut and the kidney
[32:56] Speaker 2: side effects. And so when you lower that systemic inflammation,
[32:59] Speaker 2: that joints actually has a chance to breathe and hydrate.
[33:03] Speaker 2: So next up is movement. So most people think of
[33:06] Speaker 2: hip pain. You know, to stop it, stop moving because
[33:10] Speaker 2: it hurts. This is the kiss of death. When you
[33:12] Speaker 2: stop moving, the muscles that protect that hip, specifically your
[33:16] Speaker 2: your gluteous medius and your minimus, they wither away. I
[33:20] Speaker 2: call this the guardians of that joint. So if your
[33:22] Speaker 2: glutes are weak, every step you take slams your your
[33:26] Speaker 2: femur bone directly into that socket. So we need that
[33:29] Speaker 2: functional fitness. Like we've been talking about this hour and last, Marybeth,
[33:34] Speaker 2: we've if you've been told that you have this bone
[33:36] Speaker 2: on bone, I don't want you to panic, but we
[33:38] Speaker 2: have these techniques that are our futuristic type of techniques
[33:41] Speaker 2: like p RP, plate rich plasma or stem cell therapy,
[33:45] Speaker 2: and these are absolute game changers. You may have heard
[33:48] Speaker 2: our recent discussion with the doctor Procella of Holistic Care
[33:51] Speaker 2: Center on this and again they can check out him
[33:54] Speaker 2: at Holisticcare dot com. We and this is where you
[33:58] Speaker 2: take your own healing factor, concentrate them, and inject them
[34:01] Speaker 2: back into that joint. It's like sending this construction crew
[34:04] Speaker 2: directly into the side of this pothole. It can stimulate
[34:08] Speaker 2: the repair of that laborum and cushion the joint in
[34:11] Speaker 2: ways that we didn't think possible just ten years ago,
[34:14] Speaker 2: and to avoid surgery. Also, I want to point you
[34:17] Speaker 2: at Nuvasell Biologics dot com. We had Grant Towns and
[34:21] Speaker 2: on this show he's a CEO and a developer of
[34:23] Speaker 2: Nuva cell Biologic. It's a stem cell cream and that's
[34:26] Speaker 2: a resource that's worth knowing about if you're exploring stem
[34:30] Speaker 2: cell support or advanced regetive pathways, that can help to
[34:35] Speaker 2: hold off a hip replacement right now. So, Mary Beth,
[34:38] Speaker 2: I don't you give up on your hip just yet.
[34:41] Speaker 2: Level the bucket, put out the fire, and strengthen the guards.
[34:44] Speaker 2: Use tools like apex, Joint Minerals at Jointminerals dot com,
[34:48] Speaker 2: and consider Holistic Care Center for resources and Nuvasell Biologics
[34:53] Speaker 2: dot Com for resources before you rush to the operating room.
[34:56] Speaker 2: And you've got this all right, Thanks, Mary Beth. I
[34:58] Speaker 2: really appreciate your call, folks. I want to just stick around.
[35:02] Speaker 2: We're hitting our home stretch on the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
[35:05] Speaker 2: With our health mystery coming up next, you won't want
[35:08] Speaker 2: to miss it. Stay tuned. Welcome back to the final
[35:44] Speaker 2: segment of the Doctor Bob Martin Show. I'm Not God
[35:46] Speaker 2: to Brockman, and now we're going to dive into our
[35:49] Speaker 2: health mystery of the week. Imagine waking up one morning
[35:59] Speaker 2: and realizing that the person you love most in the
[36:01] Speaker 2: world has simply vanished. Their body is still there, sitting
[36:06] Speaker 2: across from you at the breakfast table, but the light
[36:09] Speaker 2: in their eyes has been replaced by a terrifying hollow stare.
[36:14] Speaker 2: We're talking about within forty eight hours, the person who
[36:17] Speaker 2: was once a vibrant college student is now screaming at
[36:21] Speaker 2: invisible intruders. Her body is contorting in violent seizures that
[36:25] Speaker 2: defy explanation. This isn't the plot of a thriller. This
[36:30] Speaker 2: was the waking nightmare for a family of Addie. It's
[36:34] Speaker 2: a story that should shake every one of us to
[36:36] Speaker 2: our core because it highlights a flaw in our modern
[36:40] Speaker 2: medical machine. And that's the tendency to slap the psychiatric
[36:43] Speaker 2: label on a patient when the physical cause isn't immediately
[36:46] Speaker 2: obvious on a standard blood panel. And this is the
[36:49] Speaker 2: case of medical gas lighting biological warfare within the brain.
[36:54] Speaker 2: In one simple drawing that saved a life. Addie was
[36:58] Speaker 2: a typical high achieving student with until this fire started.
[37:02] Speaker 2: It began with subtle things, a bit of anxiety, some insomnia,
[37:07] Speaker 2: stuff we all deal with, right, But within days, the
[37:09] Speaker 2: anxiety spiraled into full blown psychosis. She became paranoid, she
[37:14] Speaker 2: was convinced that she was being watched. Then came the
[37:17] Speaker 2: physical symptoms. Her speech was slurred, her limbs moved into
[37:20] Speaker 2: strange patterns that she couldn't control. And that's when her
[37:24] Speaker 2: parents rushed her to the emergency room. And the response
[37:27] Speaker 2: they got was troubling, though common, It was because she
[37:31] Speaker 2: was a college students. The doctors immediately looked for lifestyle causes.
[37:35] Speaker 2: Was she partying too much? Was it drugs? When those
[37:38] Speaker 2: tests came back negative, the diagnoses shift to mental illness.
[37:42] Speaker 2: They called it a psychotic break and they suggested a
[37:46] Speaker 2: psychiatric facility. But here's the shocking truth. Roughly sixty percent
[37:49] Speaker 2: of patients with rare autoimmune brain disorders are initially misdiagnosed
[37:54] Speaker 2: with psychiatric conditions. We're talking about people being locked in
[37:58] Speaker 2: psych words when their brains are actually physically smoldering with inflammation,
[38:02] Speaker 2: and ADDIE's downward spiral continued until she met a doctor
[38:05] Speaker 2: who decided to play medical detective rather than a symptom labeler.
[38:09] Speaker 2: He didn't look at her behavior, he looked at her neurology.
[38:12] Speaker 2: He gave her a piece of paper in a pen
[38:14] Speaker 2: and asked her to do something. At first Grader could do, Addie,
[38:17] Speaker 2: I want you to draw a clock. She drew a circle.
[38:19] Speaker 2: Then she proceeded to cram every single number one through
[38:23] Speaker 2: twelve onto the right side of the clock face. The
[38:25] Speaker 2: left side was completely blank, and that was the Aha moment.
[38:29] Speaker 2: It wasn't a psychiatric break, It was a neurological short circuit.
[38:33] Speaker 2: The right side of her brain was so inflamed that
[38:35] Speaker 2: her mind had physically stopped seeing or processing the left
[38:38] Speaker 2: side of the world. This led to the ultimate reveal.
[38:41] Speaker 2: It was anti NMDA receptor encephalitis, and in plain English,
[38:47] Speaker 2: this was her immune system going rogue. It was producing
[38:50] Speaker 2: antibodies that were attacking the receptors in her brain, the
[38:53] Speaker 2: very receptors that were responsible for memory and learning and behavior.
[38:57] Speaker 2: So her brain was literally on fire. Once they stopped
[39:01] Speaker 2: treating the psychosis and started treating the inflammation with immunotherapy
[39:05] Speaker 2: and steroids, this mental illness vanished. So until next time.
[39:08] Speaker 2: This is doctor Adam Brockman for Health Talk America presents
[39:11] Speaker 2: the Doctor Bob Martin Show. I want you to keep moving,
[39:13] Speaker 2: keep being your own best doctor, and keep taking control.
