[1:35] Speaker 3: Today isn't just about surviving, it's about thriving in a

[1:49] Speaker 3: the week, and finish strong with our health mystery. But
[1:52] Speaker 3: before we get there, we have to talk about the
[1:54] Speaker 3: headlines that's shaking the foundations of modern medicine. We're talking
[1:58] Speaker 3: about a total re think of heart disease AI looking
[2:02] Speaker 3: into your soul. Well, you're rettin as at least in
[2:06] Speaker 3: some genuinely staggering news in a fight against cancer. So
[2:10] Speaker 3: if you want to follow along or catch the replay
[2:13] Speaker 3: after it airs, I invite you to head over to
[2:15] Speaker 3: doctor Bob dot com. Again, that's doctor Bob dot com

[2:22] Speaker 3: dot com. Also, if you have a health related question,
[2:26] Speaker 3: you can dial our toll free hotline at eight hundred
[2:29] Speaker 3: six zero six eight A two two. Again, that's eight
[2:32] Speaker 3: hundred six zero six eight eight two two. Okay, let's
[2:36] Speaker 3: go ahead and get into our health headlines this week
[2:39] Speaker 3: that actually matter. First up, we have the great lipid lie.
[2:56] Speaker 3: We got for forty years, four decades, folks, the medical
[2:59] Speaker 3: established has had a singular, obsessive focus when it comes
[3:03] Speaker 3: to your heart, and that's cholesterol. They treated LDL like
[3:07] Speaker 3: it's the only villain in the story, handing out statins
[3:11] Speaker 3: like their after dinner mints. But this week the narrative
[3:14] Speaker 3: is officially shifting, and it's about time. New evidence is
[3:18] Speaker 3: pouring in that proves what we've been saying on the
[3:21] Speaker 3: show for years that high cholesterol is often just a bystander,
[3:26] Speaker 3: the real arsonist that's in the building. That's chronic inflammation.
[3:29] Speaker 3: I want you to think of it this way. If
[3:31] Speaker 3: your arteries are a highway, cholesterol is just the traffic.
[3:35] Speaker 3: Traffic doesn't just pile up unless there's a massive pothole
[3:40] Speaker 3: or a slick in the road. Inflammation is that pothole.
[3:44] Speaker 3: It's the biological rust that makes your vessels the sticky,
[3:48] Speaker 3: the walls sticky, they're damage and they're prone to catching
[3:51] Speaker 3: that cholesterol. Well, the medical world is finally starting to
[3:55] Speaker 3: prioritize sea reactive protein CRP reading. That's I say it,
[4:02] Speaker 3: that should be considered over the standard lipid panel. And
[4:05] Speaker 3: this is a game changer that the medical world is
[4:07] Speaker 3: catching up to that too. The CRP, it's a marker
[4:10] Speaker 3: of systemic inflammation. If your CRP is high, your body
[4:14] Speaker 3: is essentially on fire. So the study recently showed that
[4:17] Speaker 3: individuals with low cholesterol but high CRP were at a
[4:21] Speaker 3: much higher risk for a cardiac event than those with
[4:25] Speaker 3: high cholesterol but low inflammation. So we need to stop
[4:28] Speaker 3: asking how high is my fire, my fat content, that
[4:31] Speaker 3: cholesterol content, and start asking how hot is my fire.
[4:34] Speaker 3: To stay ahead of this, you've got to arm yourself
[4:36] Speaker 3: with anti inflammatory ammunition. We're talking high dose omega threes,
[4:41] Speaker 3: tumeric and cutting the refined sugars that act as gasoline
[4:45] Speaker 3: for that internal blaze. Okay, Well, next up we have
[4:49] Speaker 3: the eye of the beholder and AI in that search
[4:52] Speaker 3: for your biological age. So let's go ahead and move
[4:55] Speaker 3: on from the heart to the eyes. There's a wild
[4:57] Speaker 3: new frontier that's opening up in what we call longevity labs.
[5:02] Speaker 3: In major academic heavyweights like Northwestern University in University of
[5:06] Speaker 3: Texas at San Antonio are opening dedicated longevity clinics that
[5:11] Speaker 3: feel like something out of a movie. They're not just
[5:14] Speaker 3: looking at your birth certificate anymore. We all know that
[5:18] Speaker 3: guy who is forty five but he looks seventy in
[5:20] Speaker 3: the woman who's eighty but moves like she's fifty. That's
[5:24] Speaker 3: the difference between chronological age in biological age. And the
[5:28] Speaker 3: shocking part that these clinics are now using artificial intelligence
[5:33] Speaker 3: to analyze your retina that's right the back of your eye.
[5:36] Speaker 3: Scientists have discovered that the microvessels in your retina is
[5:41] Speaker 3: that's a direct window into the health of your brain
[5:44] Speaker 3: and your heart. So by running a simple retinal scan
[5:47] Speaker 3: through AI algorithms, they can calculate your biological age with
[5:53] Speaker 3: a great precision. So this retinal clock can predict your
[5:57] Speaker 3: risk for cardiovascular collapse before symptoms appear. It's about moving
[6:02] Speaker 3: from sick care to predictive care. So we're entering an
[6:05] Speaker 3: era where your smartphone might tell you that your biological
[6:09] Speaker 3: systems are aging too fast, and it gives you the
[6:12] Speaker 3: chance to pivot your lifestyle before the damage becomes permanent.
[6:15] Speaker 3: So this is exactly what we emphasize in what Doctor
[6:19] Speaker 3: Bob has said for years. You can be your own
[6:22] Speaker 3: best doctor most of the time. You don't want to
[6:24] Speaker 3: be that last person to know that your eyes are
[6:26] Speaker 3: snitching on your lifestyle habits. You need to be proactive. Okay,
[6:31] Speaker 3: we've got a beacon of hope. It's a doubling survival
[6:35] Speaker 3: rate in pancreatic cancer. So I want to pivot to
[6:39] Speaker 3: some news that is genuinely emotional. It's been the silent killer,
[6:43] Speaker 3: often discovered too late with very few options, but this
[6:46] Speaker 3: week the wires are humming with hope. There's two new
[6:49] Speaker 3: drugs currently in phase three clinical trials that are showing
[6:52] Speaker 3: results that were previously unthinkable. They are doubling survival rates
[6:57] Speaker 3: for pancreatic cancer patients. Now phase three is that final
[7:01] Speaker 3: hurdle before FDA approval. And while we are always cautious
[7:06] Speaker 3: about new pharmaceuticals, one hundred percent increase in survival duration.
[7:10] Speaker 3: That's a huge, a staggering statistic that cannot be ignored.
[7:15] Speaker 3: These drugs they work by unmasking the cancer cells, allowing
[7:19] Speaker 3: the body's own immune system to finally see that biological
[7:23] Speaker 3: rust we teak keep talking about, and go to work
[7:25] Speaker 3: cleaning it out. So it's a massive win for science.
[7:29] Speaker 3: But remember, the best defense is a proactive offense. Keeping
[7:33] Speaker 3: your immune system educated through proper vitamin D three levels
[7:37] Speaker 3: medicinal mushrooms in a clean terrain is the best bet
[7:41] Speaker 3: for making sure these cells never get a foothold in
[7:43] Speaker 3: the first place. All right, And finally, men, once again,
[7:48] Speaker 3: it's your turn, and we're talking about the HPV vaccine rebrand.
[7:54] Speaker 3: All right, So finally, let's go ahead and talk about
[7:55] Speaker 3: a headline from the Journal of American Medicine, the oncology
[8:00] Speaker 3: journal that has a lot of guys shifting uncomfortably in
[8:03] Speaker 3: their seats right now. For the longest time, the HPV
[8:07] Speaker 3: vaccine was marketed almost exclusively towards young women as a
[8:11] Speaker 3: way to prevent cervical cancer. Well, the data is in
[8:15] Speaker 3: and it turns out men we need to be paying
[8:18] Speaker 3: attention to. New research shows that the HPV vaccine is
[8:22] Speaker 3: cutting head, neck, and throat cancers in men by about
[8:25] Speaker 3: fifty percent. So we've seen a troubling spike in these
[8:30] Speaker 3: specific cancers in men over the last decade, and it's
[8:32] Speaker 3: a direct link to this HPV virus. So there's no
[8:37] Speaker 3: longer just a women's issue here. It's a human issue,
[8:42] Speaker 3: including men. And so whether you choose the vaccine or
[8:45] Speaker 3: choose to boost your immune system through natural protocols, the
[8:49] Speaker 3: takeaway is clear. The virus doesn't discriminate. So we have
[8:53] Speaker 3: to stop thinking about health in gendered silos and start
[8:57] Speaker 3: looking at the total viral load our bodies are carrying.
[9:01] Speaker 3: So let's go ahead in and tie it all together.
[9:04] Speaker 3: All these headlines, from inflammation in your heart to the
[9:08] Speaker 3: AI in your eyes, it points back to one central theme,
[9:11] Speaker 3: and that's the terrain. Your body is either an environment
[9:15] Speaker 3: where health flourishes or where rust takes over. And through
[9:20] Speaker 3: the show, we're going to keep giving you the exact
[9:24] Speaker 3: steps to lower that CRP, to protect your retinas and
[9:28] Speaker 3: your eyes, your heart, your brain, and keep that biological
[9:32] Speaker 3: age decades behind your birthday. All right, folks, we're coming
[9:35] Speaker 3: up on a break. I want you to stay with us.
[9:38] Speaker 3: We're gonna take this quick break to hear from our sponsors,
[9:40] Speaker 3: but I don't want you to go anywhere. We're just
[9:42] Speaker 3: getting started on this hour. You're listening to Health Talk
[9:45] Speaker 3: America presents the Doctor Bob Martin Show, and I'm doctor
[9:48] Speaker 3: Adam Brockman. We'll be right back.
[10:01] Speaker 4: Hi. I'm Connie Britton, and I want to share with
[10:04] Speaker 4: you the experience of Donna in Washington. She writes, I
[10:09] Speaker 4: got injured about five years ago. I was let go
[10:13] Speaker 4: when because of the injury, I couldn't keep up with
[10:15] Speaker 4: my schedule. I've tried to find other work, but I'm
[10:19] Speaker 4: sixty eight now. No one wants to hire someone that old.
[10:24] Speaker 4: This week is tough, though, because I had to get
[10:27] Speaker 4: my tooth fixed, so I only have ten dollars in
[10:30] Speaker 4: my checking account. But it will be okay. I at
[10:34] Speaker 4: least have food because of this pantry. Millions of people
[10:38] Speaker 4: face hunger, some every day, just like Donna. The Feeding
[10:44] Speaker 4: America network of food banks helps provide over six billion

[11:03] Speaker 3: Your mouth is the gateway to your body's health. But
[11:06] Speaker 3: what if your dental problems could actually be repaired, not
[11:10] Speaker 3: just patched. If you're struggling with painful gums, jawbone loss,
[11:15] Speaker 3: implant failure are chronic dental infections. Don't settle for more
[11:19] Speaker 3: drilling or medications that just mask the problem. At American

[11:28] Speaker 3: regenerating healthy gum and bone tissue, eliminating toxic materials, in
[11:33] Speaker 3: restoring balance to your entire body, starting with your smile.

[12:00] Speaker 4: Com and your factice sweat each to.
[12:12] Speaker 3: Welcome back. You're listening to the Doctor Bob Martin Show
[12:14] Speaker 3: and I'm doctor Adam Brockman, and folks, doctor Bob and
[12:18] Speaker 3: I were all about helping you live and thrive naturally
[12:22] Speaker 3: and teaching you to become your own best doctor. So
[12:24] Speaker 3: if you've got questions about the latest health headlines we
[12:27] Speaker 3: just went over, I invite you to give us a
[12:29] Speaker 3: call at eight hundred six zero six eight eight two
[12:32] Speaker 3: two again that's eight hundred six zero six eight eight
[12:35] Speaker 3: two two. That's where you'll find doctor Bob and I
[12:38] Speaker 3: and we're standing by to help unlock your best self again.
[12:41] Speaker 3: That's eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two.
[12:44] Speaker 3: All right. You know it's it's stress awareness this month.
[12:48] Speaker 3: And I want to go ahead and talk about that
[12:51] Speaker 3: summer vacation trap, that magical time of year when families
[12:56] Speaker 3: spend thousands of dollars to become dehydrated and overstimulated and
[13:01] Speaker 3: underslept and somehow mad at each other in a beautiful location.
[13:05] Speaker 3: You know, you plan four months, pack like you're fleeing
[13:08] Speaker 3: the country. You survive airport security with three snacks in
[13:13] Speaker 3: a prayer, and then come home needing a chiropractor, a nap,
[13:18] Speaker 3: and maybe a second vacation. And if that sounds too familiar,
[13:22] Speaker 3: you're not feeling at vacation. You are participating in a
[13:26] Speaker 3: very modern, very common health problem. So as a doctor
[13:32] Speaker 3: and a dad, I can tell you that this is
[13:35] Speaker 3: one of the greatest ironies of summer. We chase. We
[13:39] Speaker 3: often chase rest with intensity, like it we're some type
[13:43] Speaker 3: of a swat team. We work, We work for fifty
[13:45] Speaker 3: weeks for a getaway. Then spend the getaway rushing, waiting, hauling, sweating,
[13:52] Speaker 3: spending and refereeing little emotional hostage situations and flip flops.
[13:58] Speaker 3: So I want you to join me as we uncover
[14:00] Speaker 3: a real truth and that's a vacation that can absolutely
[14:05] Speaker 3: improve your health, but only if you stop turning it
[14:08] Speaker 3: into a seven day cortisol festival. So from a longevity perspective,
[14:14] Speaker 3: travel can be fantastic. You get new scenery, time away
[14:18] Speaker 3: from routine, You get sunlight, movement, laughter, in meaningful family
[14:23] Speaker 3: connection that can all help support mental health and lower
[14:27] Speaker 3: that alistatic load that where and tear burden stresses place
[14:32] Speaker 3: that's on the body. But here's the troubling part. Roughly
[14:35] Speaker 3: sixty percent of travelers say they're relaxing trips leave them
[14:39] Speaker 3: more drained than when they started. And that's a huge statistic,
[14:43] Speaker 3: but honestly, after watching families power walk through theme parks
[14:48] Speaker 3: like their storm in a Castle, I believe it. So
[14:51] Speaker 3: let's go ahead and dive into the science of travel. Stress.
[14:55] Speaker 3: Cortisol is your main stress hormone. In the right amount,
[14:59] Speaker 3: it can be helpful. It wakes you up, it keeps
[15:02] Speaker 3: you alert, and it helps you respond to challenges but
[15:06] Speaker 3: when cortisol stays elevated too long, it begins to sabotage
[15:10] Speaker 3: the very benefits your vacation was supposed to deliver. High
[15:14] Speaker 3: cortisol can worsen sleep, it can increase irritability, it can
[15:19] Speaker 3: disregulate your blood sugar, it can weaken your immune system,
[15:22] Speaker 3: and it can amplify your body's inflammation. So, in plain English,
[15:26] Speaker 3: if your break leaves you edgy, puffy, exhausted, craving junk
[15:31] Speaker 3: and snapping at your spouse because someone lost the hotel key,
[15:36] Speaker 3: your body is not in vacation mode. It's in low
[15:39] Speaker 3: grade survival mode. And you're wearing sunglasses. So that's why
[15:43] Speaker 3: I tell people this all the time. Not all trips
[15:46] Speaker 3: are restorative. Some are just stressed with a pool. Now,
[15:50] Speaker 3: I'm not anti travel, I'm pro smart travel. I want
[15:55] Speaker 3: you to come back with memories, not muscle spasm. Which
[15:59] Speaker 3: brings me to Orlando. When most people think of heading
[16:03] Speaker 3: to Orlando, you already know what's lurking in the distance,
[16:06] Speaker 3: and that's the mouse Disney World. It's iconic, it's huge,
[16:10] Speaker 3: it's polished, it's nostalgic, and for most families, it's a
[16:14] Speaker 3: rite of passage. But let's just say the place can
[16:18] Speaker 3: also feel like a master class in organized chaos. The
[16:22] Speaker 3: crowds are enormous, the walking is relentless, and unless you
[16:27] Speaker 3: r in a scooter, but don't get me started on that.
[16:30] Speaker 3: The lines they can stretch longer than your patients. And
[16:34] Speaker 3: once you add in heat, noise, sugar, and the complexity
[16:39] Speaker 3: of moving children throughout a giant theme park ecosystem, things
[16:43] Speaker 3: can get a little spicy in a hurry. And as
[16:46] Speaker 3: a dad, I get the appeal, and as a doctor,
[16:49] Speaker 3: I also recognize the signs of a nervous system being
[16:52] Speaker 3: mugged in broad daylight. You know, dense crowds, they matter.
[16:57] Speaker 3: Your brain is not neutral about them. Research consistently shows
[17:01] Speaker 3: that crowding, noise, unpredictability, and long waves can activate a
[17:06] Speaker 3: fight or flight response. Your body starts to read this
[17:10] Speaker 3: environment as stressful, so your heart rate goes up, your
[17:13] Speaker 3: tension rises, and patients fall through the roof. And then
[17:18] Speaker 3: you start to have this classic theme park chain reaction.
[17:21] Speaker 3: You got one hungry kid, one overheated parent, one delayed ride,
[17:26] Speaker 3: one overpriced mystery snack, and suddenly everybody's having a character
[17:31] Speaker 3: building experience. They did not ask for and that's why
[17:35] Speaker 3: I want to tell you about a little surprise in
[17:37] Speaker 3: our last trip to Orlando, and that was Lego Land
[17:41] Speaker 3: in winter Haven, and I'm telling you it was a
[17:44] Speaker 3: breath of fresh air. We found this place while looking
[17:47] Speaker 3: for a way to add fun without adding more chaos,
[17:51] Speaker 3: and it delivered. And if you have younger kids, especially
[17:55] Speaker 3: in that two to twelve range, Lego Land is the
[17:58] Speaker 3: kind of discovery that make you feel like you've cracked
[18:01] Speaker 3: a secret family travel code. I want to tell you
[18:05] Speaker 3: right away. The whole environment felt more manageable and not small,
[18:10] Speaker 3: not boring, but manageable, and when you're traveling with kids,
[18:15] Speaker 3: manageable is a luxury item. The lines were shorter, the
[18:19] Speaker 3: crowds were lighter, the pace felt human. Nobody looked like
[18:24] Speaker 3: they were preparing for an ultra marathon. I didn't feel
[18:27] Speaker 3: like I needed a tactical plan or three apps in
[18:30] Speaker 3: a backup battery just to buy lunch. That alone lower
[18:35] Speaker 3: distress level by a mile. We weren't spending half the
[18:38] Speaker 3: day standing in line while the kids dissolved into little
[18:41] Speaker 3: puddles of fatigue and emotion. We were actually moving and
[18:45] Speaker 3: playing and laughing and adjoining ourselves and here was the
[18:49] Speaker 3: real kicker. The value felt better too. I always look
[18:54] Speaker 3: at family experiences through that lens of let's call it
[18:58] Speaker 3: smiles per hour, in Lego Land scored high. My kids
[19:03] Speaker 3: actually got to be kids, and instead of staring at
[19:06] Speaker 3: screens or collapsing from boredom in line, they found building
[19:10] Speaker 3: stations and hands on spaces that kept their brains engaged.
[19:14] Speaker 3: They were using imagination and coordination and creativity, and this
[19:18] Speaker 3: is all good stuff. So from a developmental standpoint, I
[19:22] Speaker 3: loved it From a dad standpoint, I loved it even
[19:24] Speaker 3: more because we avoided the classic theme park meltdown theater.
[19:29] Speaker 3: And yes, I'll say it plainly, I had a blast too.
[19:32] Speaker 3: And that's important because parents count. You are not just
[19:36] Speaker 3: the pack mule with that credit card. If the adults
[19:39] Speaker 3: are miserable, the whole family feels it too, And at
[19:42] Speaker 3: Lego Land, we weren't just gritting our teeth and pretending
[19:45] Speaker 3: that this was fun for the scrap book. It was
[19:47] Speaker 3: genuinely fun. We also stayed at the Lego Land hotel,
[19:51] Speaker 3: and it turned out to be another smart move. The
[19:54] Speaker 3: setup made it life easier. The room layout gave the
[19:56] Speaker 3: kids their own space, and the sleep was better, the
[19:59] Speaker 3: break was included, and thankfully it wasn't just a fluorescent
[20:04] Speaker 3: sugar buffet trying to pass off as a convenience. And
[20:07] Speaker 3: that matters because nutritional planning on the road is one
[20:10] Speaker 3: of the most overlooked pieces of low strassificationing. And here's why.
[20:14] Speaker 3: Unstable blood sugar can turn a manageable day into a
[20:17] Speaker 3: circus in under twenty minutes. When families start the day
[20:20] Speaker 3: with syrup and pastries and juice and then they go
[20:23] Speaker 3: for hours without protein, fiber, or water or any real food,
[20:27] Speaker 3: everyone crashes, kids melt down, the parents feel foggy and irritable,
[20:31] Speaker 3: so decision making gets worse. So one of my strongest
[20:35] Speaker 3: travel trips tips is actually simple, plan your nutrition like it.
[20:39] Speaker 3: It matters because it does. Pack protein, bring electrolyte support,
[20:43] Speaker 3: keep nuts, fruit, jerky or cleaner snacks on hand. Hydrate
[20:48] Speaker 3: before you're thirsty. A well fed family is a more
[20:52] Speaker 3: emotionally stable family, if you will. That's not just parenting wisdom,
[20:56] Speaker 3: that's physiology. So let me leave you with my blueprint
[21:00] Speaker 3: for low stress vacationing. First, use a single location base
[21:04] Speaker 3: whenever possible, unpack just once, stay put. Every hotel hop
[21:09] Speaker 3: keeps that brain in a go mode. And second, build
[21:12] Speaker 3: in true rest days, days where when nobody is allowed
[21:15] Speaker 3: to look at the schedule, no alarms, no reservations, no chasing,
[21:19] Speaker 3: just rest as is not necessarily laziness. Rest is recovery.
[21:23] Speaker 3: And third, handle your nutrition on purpose, protein, hydration, minerals,
[21:28] Speaker 3: simple snacks, and less sugar chaos. Those three moves alone
[21:32] Speaker 3: can dramatically lower travel stress and protect the health benefits
[21:36] Speaker 3: of your trip because the goal is not to just
[21:39] Speaker 3: be on the go. The goal is to come back
[21:42] Speaker 3: feeling more like yourself. Protect your energy, protect your patients,
[21:46] Speaker 3: protect your summer, and take control of your vacation before
[21:49] Speaker 3: it takes control of you. All Right, folks, we're coming
[21:52] Speaker 3: up on a break. When we come back, we'll get
[21:54] Speaker 3: to our health mystery of the week. You're listening to
[21:57] Speaker 3: the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
[22:01] Speaker 5: Anybody's called fame mistakes, but everybody's got a choice to make.
[22:07] Speaker 2: Everybody needs to.
[22:08] Speaker 6: Leave the faith.

[22:52] Speaker 3: if you've got pressing health questions, we're just a phone
[22:54] Speaker 3: call away at eight hundred six zero six eighty two
[22:57] Speaker 3: to two. That's eight hundred six zero six eight eight
[23:00] Speaker 3: to two to two. Okay. I want to tell you
[23:02] Speaker 3: something that this doctor, my entire family, in most of
[23:06] Speaker 3: my healthcare colleagues who are interested in avoiding tooth decay
[23:10] Speaker 3: or gingivitis, paradontal disease and bad breath use the Spray
[23:14] Speaker 3: dental defense system. And I'm here to tell you why.
[23:17] Speaker 3: If you want a spotless checkup to the dental provider,
[23:20] Speaker 3: here's what I do to be my own best dental
[23:23] Speaker 3: hygienist and dentist. Most of the time, I brush my
[23:26] Speaker 3: teeth with spry toothpaste. I rinse my mouth with Spry
[23:29] Speaker 3: mouth rents and I chew Spry gum. Spry comes in
[23:33] Speaker 3: delicious flavors including peppermint, cinnamon, and spearmint. In the secret sauce,
[23:38] Speaker 3: which is not really a secret anymore because of the
[23:40] Speaker 3: research in the science behind it is xylotol. It's used
[23:44] Speaker 3: by millions of Spry users. Xylotol. It's a plant based
[23:48] Speaker 3: ingredient in the Spray Dental Defense system. And again that's
[23:52] Speaker 3: their toothpaste, their mouth rents, their gum, and they're mints,
[23:55] Speaker 3: and xylotol is anti cavity, it's anti plaque, and it's
[23:58] Speaker 3: anti bad news. The next time your dentis peers into
[24:01] Speaker 3: your mouth and whispers, what have you been using your
[24:05] Speaker 3: teeth and gums? They look great? You can tell your
[24:08] Speaker 3: dentists that you have been using the Spray Dental Defense system.
[24:11] Speaker 3: And it's an easy and it's an inexpensive way to
[24:14] Speaker 3: have the benefits of xylotol throughout the day without needing
[24:17] Speaker 3: to change your habits. So if you want that squeaky
[24:20] Speaker 3: clean teeth gums in your breath, then use the Spray
[24:24] Speaker 3: Dental Defense system and Spray Dental Defense is available at CVS, Target,
[24:29] Speaker 3: Vitamin Shop, Sprouts in all natural grocers' locations everywhere where
[24:34] Speaker 3: you're already shopping. And for more information go to Clear
[24:37] Speaker 3: dot com. That's x l e ar dot com. You
[24:41] Speaker 3: can find out about Spry and Clear as well. Clear
[24:45] Speaker 3: the nasal sprays which you should try and have in
[24:47] Speaker 3: your wellness arsenal too. And again that's the spray dental
[24:51] Speaker 3: defense system in Clear nasal Sprays. Okay, it's time for
[24:55] Speaker 3: our natural grocer's health alternative of the week. Now. Usually
[25:19] Speaker 3: when people hear health alternative, they think of a new
[25:22] Speaker 3: supplement or real food that they should try that I'm
[25:25] Speaker 3: going to tell you about. But today I want to
[25:27] Speaker 3: talk about a fundamental shift in your environment. I want
[25:31] Speaker 3: to talk about where you spend your saturdays and where
[25:34] Speaker 3: your hard earned money goes every single week, and that's
[25:37] Speaker 3: the grocery store. And if you've been listening to me
[25:40] Speaker 3: for a while, you know I'm a dad doctor. I've
[25:44] Speaker 3: got the health degrees and the clinical experience, but I've
[25:48] Speaker 3: also got the chaotic reality of raising kids and trying
[25:51] Speaker 3: to keep a household running without losing my sanity. And
[25:56] Speaker 3: let's be honest, the modern supermarket is a minefield. It's
[26:00] Speaker 3: an absolute gauntlet of marketing traps, neon colored toxins in
[26:05] Speaker 3: food like products designed to hijack your brain chemistry. That's
[26:09] Speaker 3: why my health alternative of the week is a simple
[26:13] Speaker 3: strategic pivot, and that's making a dedicated family stop to
[26:17] Speaker 3: a natural grocer's grocery store. And most people, they don't
[26:21] Speaker 3: realize that where you shop is actually one of the
[26:25] Speaker 3: most significant health choices you can make. We focus on
[26:28] Speaker 3: the what, but the where determines the what is available.
[26:33] Speaker 3: And when you walk into a conventional big box grocery store,
[26:37] Speaker 3: you're stepping into a space where roughly eighty percent of
[26:40] Speaker 3: the itemans on the shelf, they're ultra processed. We're talking
[26:44] Speaker 3: about staggering levels of refined sugars, inflammatory seed oils, in
[26:49] Speaker 3: a literal rainbow of synthetic dyes that have no business
[26:53] Speaker 3: being in the human body. So, as a longevity expert,
[26:57] Speaker 3: I look at the grocery store and I see a
[26:59] Speaker 3: landscape of chronic inflammation. And when you buy conventional produce,
[27:04] Speaker 3: you're often just getting a side of glycasate in pesticides
[27:08] Speaker 3: that are devastating to our gut, microbiome and our hormonal balance.
[27:13] Speaker 3: And when you buy standard dairy, you're often consuming milk
[27:17] Speaker 3: from cows that have never seen a blade of grass.
[27:20] Speaker 3: It's exhausting, isn't it? And as a parent, you have
[27:23] Speaker 3: to be on high alert every second. You're playing defense
[27:27] Speaker 3: against big food marketing machine that puts the brightest, most
[27:31] Speaker 3: sugar laden boxes right at your child's eye level. So
[27:35] Speaker 3: why am I pointing you towards natural Grocers Because they
[27:38] Speaker 3: do the heavy lifting for you in a world where
[27:42] Speaker 3: labels are designed to deceive. Natural Grocers has set a
[27:45] Speaker 3: standard that is frankly unheard of in an industry. And
[27:49] Speaker 3: they've been doing this since nineteen fifty five, long before
[27:53] Speaker 3: organic was a buzzword or a marketing trend. And let's
[27:57] Speaker 3: talk about the one hundred percent rule. This is the
[28:00] Speaker 3: cornerstone of why this is our health altern Above the week,
[28:04] Speaker 3: at Natural Grocers, you will find one hundred percent organic produce, period,
[28:09] Speaker 3: No dirty conventional apples sitting next to the organic ones,
[28:14] Speaker 3: no confusing signage. If it's in the produce department, it's
[28:18] Speaker 3: organic at natural Grocers. And why does this matter for
[28:21] Speaker 3: your longevity? Because studies show that organic produce contains significantly
[28:27] Speaker 3: higher levels of antioxidants, the very compounds that protect yourselves
[28:31] Speaker 3: from oxidative stress and aging. Plus there you're going to
[28:36] Speaker 3: go ahead and cut out the chemical load that taxes
[28:38] Speaker 3: your liver and disrupts your indocrine system with those synthetic pesticides.
[28:42] Speaker 3: For a busy parent, the one hundred percent organic policy
[28:46] Speaker 3: means that you can breathe a sigh of relief. You
[28:49] Speaker 3: don't have to check a list and see what's on
[28:51] Speaker 3: the dirty dozen this year. You just put it in
[28:54] Speaker 3: your cart at natural Grocers. And I want to share
[28:57] Speaker 3: a personal antidote here. If you've ever taken kids to
[29:00] Speaker 3: a traditional grocery store, you know the no loop. Dad.
[29:05] Speaker 3: Can I have this cereal with a cartoon vampire? No Dad?
[29:09] Speaker 3: Can I have these neon blue fruit snacks? No? Dad?
[29:14] Speaker 3: What about the soda? No? No, no. It's a battle
[29:18] Speaker 3: of wills that leaves everyone frustrated. But when I take
[29:21] Speaker 3: my kids to natural grocers, the vibe changes because the
[29:25] Speaker 3: store has already been vetted to every single item, and
[29:29] Speaker 3: they've looked for artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, and hygenated oils,
[29:34] Speaker 3: so you can finally say yes. The health alternative here
[29:39] Speaker 3: isn't just about the nutrients. It's about the mental health
[29:42] Speaker 3: of the family. My kids can pick out a snack
[29:45] Speaker 3: and I know it's not going to be loaded with
[29:47] Speaker 3: red forty or high fruitose corn syrup. We're talking about
[29:51] Speaker 3: a yes zone. That shift is in the family dynamic
[29:55] Speaker 3: as well, where healthy choices are the only choices. It's
[29:59] Speaker 3: a game changer for long term lifestyle success. And we
[30:03] Speaker 3: often think of longevity as something we do at the
[30:05] Speaker 3: doctor's office or in the gym, but longevity is built
[30:09] Speaker 3: in the kitchen. It's built in the choices that we
[30:11] Speaker 3: make at four point thirty pm on a Tuesday when
[30:14] Speaker 3: we're tired and we just need to get dinner on
[30:17] Speaker 3: the table. And at Natural Grocers they even offer the
[30:21] Speaker 3: Good for You Meal Deal, which is a lifesaver for
[30:24] Speaker 3: families on a budget. You can get a full, healthy,
[30:27] Speaker 3: organic meal for a family of four at a price
[30:30] Speaker 3: that rivals fast food. That is how we fight back
[30:33] Speaker 3: against the health crisis in the country by making the
[30:37] Speaker 3: right choice, the easy and affordable choice. So there you
[30:41] Speaker 3: have it. Your health is your greatest asset, your family's
[30:44] Speaker 3: health is as well, and your grocery cart is your
[30:46] Speaker 3: primary insurance policy. Protect your longevity, Protect your kids development
[30:50] Speaker 3: and take control of what crosses that threshold. This has
[30:54] Speaker 3: been your health alternative of the week, and that is
[30:56] Speaker 3: a family trip to natural grocers. Are you tired of

[33:56] Speaker 3: word doctor d O C t R bob dot com.
[34:00] Speaker 3: Now let's get back into our conversation today with our
[34:04] Speaker 3: health outrage of the week. Jeez, come on each tub
[34:13] Speaker 3: for the health Bridge, because it's nothing, Bud. I want
[34:23] Speaker 3: you to imagine walking out your front porch on a
[34:26] Speaker 3: very hot July afternoon. You're holding a cold, sweating can
[34:31] Speaker 3: of diet coke. You look down at some stubborn crab
[34:35] Speaker 3: grass that's growing in your driveway, and instead of reaching
[34:39] Speaker 3: for round up, you crack the tab and you pour
[34:42] Speaker 3: the brown, bubbly liquid that is diet coke right onto
[34:46] Speaker 3: the weeds. Now, imagine watching the grass wither and die,
[34:51] Speaker 3: then turning to your neighbor and saying, hey, you see that.
[34:55] Speaker 3: If that can do that to the lawn, imagine what
[34:57] Speaker 3: it's doing to tumors. Sounds like a punchline from a
[35:02] Speaker 3: late night comedy skit, if you will, But this isn't
[35:06] Speaker 3: a joke. It's the latest entry into our health outrage
[35:10] Speaker 3: of the week. We are talking about a claim so
[35:13] Speaker 3: scientifically backwards that it has the entire medical community doing
[35:17] Speaker 3: a collective double take. And if you missed Doctor Bob
[35:21] Speaker 3: and I discussing this earlier on the show, it deserves
[35:26] Speaker 3: a double take of its own. That's why it is
[35:29] Speaker 3: this week's health outrage. And this is what it is.
[35:34] Speaker 3: Recently on Donald Trump Junior's podcast, Doctor Ozrey Canada story
[35:39] Speaker 3: about President Donald Trump. According to doctor Oz, Trump maintains
[35:45] Speaker 3: a unique health theory regarding this well documented love for
[35:49] Speaker 3: diet coke. In the theory, because diet coke is so
[35:54] Speaker 3: strong it can kill grass, it must effectively kill cancer
[35:59] Speaker 3: cells inside the human body. So I want to go
[36:01] Speaker 3: ahead and play this clip for you.
[36:03] Speaker 5: He'll first start off with candy bars, that little candy jar,
[36:06] Speaker 5: he'll call it. He'll hit the red button, and then
[36:08] Speaker 5: comes the diet soda pops, which is your dad argues
[36:11] Speaker 5: that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass.
[36:15] Speaker 5: It's poured on grass, so therefore must kill cancer cells
[36:18] Speaker 5: inside the body. So he'll try to please I'm not
[36:21] Speaker 5: even going to argue this right now.
[36:22] Speaker 2: You know.
[36:22] Speaker 5: We were on Air Force one the other day and
[36:24] Speaker 5: I walk in there because he wants to talk about something,
[36:26] Speaker 5: and he's got an orange soft drink on his desk. Fanta, Yes,
[36:31] Speaker 5: that's what. I don't want to say that brand name
[36:32] Speaker 5: on the podcast. He's got a Fanta on the desk,
[36:35] Speaker 5: and I say, are you kidding me? So he starts
[36:37] Speaker 5: to take sheep persty grin. He goes, you know, this
[36:38] Speaker 5: sounds good for me. He kills cancerselves and then and
[36:41] Speaker 5: then he tells me it's fresh squeezed, so how.
[36:43] Speaker 3: Bad could it be for you? Okay, okay, but then
[36:48] Speaker 3: maybe he's onto something.
[36:49] Speaker 6: Because I will say this, I know a lot of
[36:51] Speaker 6: guys pushing eighty and.
[36:53] Speaker 3: Yeah, I will give him. Maddie isn't in good shape
[36:55] Speaker 3: for eighty. But folks, I've heard some creative health in
[37:00] Speaker 3: my time. I've seen people try to cure back pain
[37:03] Speaker 3: with magnets and treat the flu with onions in their socks.
[37:07] Speaker 3: But this one takes the cake, or rather, it takes
[37:11] Speaker 3: the soda. So let's go ahead and uncover why this
[37:14] Speaker 3: logic is more than just a quirky antidote. It's a
[37:17] Speaker 3: dangerous piece of misinformation that could lead people away from
[37:22] Speaker 3: actual healthy practices. So let's start with this logic itself,
[37:26] Speaker 3: the idea that if X is killed by this, it
[37:30] Speaker 3: must be good to also kill Why that's a staggering
[37:33] Speaker 3: oversimplification of human biology. Yes, if you pour a highly acidic,
[37:39] Speaker 3: chemical laden liquid onto a plant, the plant is going
[37:42] Speaker 3: to have a bad day. Plants are sensitive pH changes
[37:46] Speaker 3: in certain concentrated salts. But the human body is not
[37:50] Speaker 3: a garden bed. So when you ingest diet coke, it
[37:54] Speaker 3: doesn't just float around your bloodstream looking for cancer cells
[37:58] Speaker 3: to burn like a weed killer. It goes through your
[38:01] Speaker 3: digestive track and interacts with your gut microbiome, and it
[38:04] Speaker 3: hits your liver. The strength of the chemicals doesn't translate
[38:08] Speaker 3: to a targeted strike against malignancy. And in fact, if
[38:12] Speaker 3: we follow the logic that things that kill things are
[38:16] Speaker 3: good for us, we'd be drinking battery, acid and bleached
[38:20] Speaker 3: to stay healthy. And please, please do not do that. Now,
[38:25] Speaker 3: let's pivot to the antidote that's actual science, because this
[38:29] Speaker 3: is where it gets troubling. While some claim diet coke
[38:32] Speaker 3: is a secret weapon against disease, the International Agency for
[38:36] Speaker 3: Cancer Research, which is part of the World Health Organization,
[38:40] Speaker 3: has a different take. In twenty twenty three, they officially
[38:44] Speaker 3: labeled the primary sweetener in diet coke as a possible carcinogen.
[38:50] Speaker 3: And now, before we panic, possible means that evidence is limited,
[38:54] Speaker 3: but it's certainly not non existent. When about eighty percent
[38:59] Speaker 3: of the modern diet is already filled with process junk,
[39:01] Speaker 3: adding another possible carcinogen under the guise of a being
[39:06] Speaker 3: a health food is an absolute outrage. So the irony
[39:10] Speaker 3: here is very thick. Promoting a substance that is literally
[39:14] Speaker 3: being study for a potential to cause cancer as a
[39:17] Speaker 3: cure for cancer is wild. That's why I do believe
[39:22] Speaker 3: this is President President Trump just joking on the matter matter.
[39:27] Speaker 3: So again, you know these are the things that you know.
[39:30] Speaker 3: Don't let that grass logic full you. Cancer prevention isn't
[39:33] Speaker 3: found in a vending machine. It's found in the daily
[39:35] Speaker 3: choices you make, eating whole food, manage your stress, and
[39:39] Speaker 3: keep your body moving. So I want to stick to
[39:42] Speaker 3: real water, keep your gut healthy, and for the love
[39:45] Speaker 3: of all things, keep the diet coke on your lawn
[39:48] Speaker 3: if you must, but keep it out of your bloodstream.
[39:51] Speaker 3: All right, folks, this has been your health outrage of
[39:53] Speaker 3: the week. We'll be right back. You're listening to the
[39:56] Speaker 3: Doctor Bob Martin show. Hi, it's doctor Adam Brockman. We
[40:07] Speaker 3: talk about health every week. When your joints hurt, everything hurts,
[40:11] Speaker 3: you lose that freedom to move and bend and stretch
[40:14] Speaker 3: and do the things you love. And that's why I
[40:16] Speaker 3: want to tell you about something truly special, and that's
[40:19] Speaker 3: APEX joint minerals. This isn't another gimmick or quick fix.
[40:23] Speaker 3: It's a mineral complex and it's inspired by a discovery
[40:26] Speaker 3: high in the Sierra Mountains, and it's minerals that your
[40:29] Speaker 3: body actually recognizes and uses to restore joint flexibility and comfort.
[40:34] Speaker 3: And what makes APEX Joint Minerals different is it's science
[40:38] Speaker 3: seeing what happens when people give their joints the nutrients
[40:41] Speaker 3: they've been missing and they get their life back. And
[40:44] Speaker 3: that's what I want for you. So if you're ready

[41:48] Speaker 3: zero six eight eight two to two, and we're here
[41:50] Speaker 3: with the final segment of our show. So let's go
[41:53] Speaker 3: ahead and get into it with our health mystery of
[41:55] Speaker 3: the week. This week, let's talk about Julie. Julie was
[42:03] Speaker 3: a thirty eight year old mother of two, a former
[42:05] Speaker 3: college athlete who pride to herself in staying fit. But
[42:09] Speaker 3: about three years ago, she developed this nagging, persistent cough.
[42:13] Speaker 3: It wasn't a cold cough, it was a dry, hacking
[42:16] Speaker 3: sound that showed up about every time she exerted herself.
[42:20] Speaker 3: She went to her primary care physician and they did
[42:23] Speaker 3: what most do. They gave her an inhaler and told
[42:26] Speaker 3: her that she had adult onset asthma. But the inhaler
[42:30] Speaker 3: didn't work. In fact, things got worse. For two years,
[42:34] Speaker 3: Julie lived in a state of constant air hunger. She
[42:37] Speaker 3: described it as trying to breathe through a tiny plastic
[42:40] Speaker 3: cocktail straw while trying to run a marathon. She couldn't
[42:44] Speaker 3: play tag with her kids. She couldn't walk upstairs without
[42:47] Speaker 3: pausing to catch her breath. She went back to the
[42:50] Speaker 3: clinic four times. One doctor told her it was anxiety.
[42:53] Speaker 3: Another said she was just out of shape and needed
[42:56] Speaker 3: to lose about ten pounds. So imagine that you're being
[42:59] Speaker 3: told that you're just it's lazy when you literally can't
[43:02] Speaker 3: breathe and you're suffocating. The turning point came when Julie
[43:05] Speaker 3: saw a nurse practitioner for a routine checkup. The NP
[43:09] Speaker 3: actually listened to the sound of Julie's breath. It wasn't
[43:12] Speaker 3: from a wheeze from the lines. It was a high
[43:15] Speaker 3: pitched strider coming from her neck, so she ordered a scope.
[43:19] Speaker 3: When the camera came down, the mystery was solved. Julie
[43:23] Speaker 3: had idiopathic subglottal stenosis. Her airway, which should have been
[43:28] Speaker 3: the size of a nickel, was narrowed by a thick
[43:32] Speaker 3: ring of scar tissue. It was about seventy five percent blocked.
[43:36] Speaker 3: She wasn't having an asthma attack. She was trying to
[43:40] Speaker 3: force life giving air through a hole the size of
[43:44] Speaker 3: a toothpick. So the lesson to hear is simple, don't
[43:47] Speaker 3: let your symptoms be dismissed. If you feel like you
[43:50] Speaker 3: can't breathe, it's just a cough or it's just stress.
[43:54] Speaker 3: Isn't a good enough answer, You know your body better
[43:57] Speaker 3: than any chart does. All right, so we're just about
[44:02] Speaker 3: out of time for today's show. I want to thank
[44:04] Speaker 3: you for joining me today. Remember your health is a
