[2:33] Speaker 2: this radio show. They all exist over there at doctor
[2:36] Speaker 2: Bob dot com. Be sure to spell out the word
[2:38] Speaker 2: doctor doc t R Bob dot com. We're gonna begin
[2:44] Speaker 2: this hour, but the conversation about cholesterol there you know,
[2:50] Speaker 2: there's good, there's bad, there's indifferent, a lot of confusion,
[2:54] Speaker 2: a lot of controversy, a lot of fraud involved in
[2:57] Speaker 2: the selling of cholesterol lower drugs, and exactly what cholesterol
[3:03] Speaker 2: really is. But you've probably heard it's better to have
[3:06] Speaker 2: lots of good cholesterol, and generally speaking, that's true. But
[3:10] Speaker 2: if you have too much of anything HDL, the high
[3:15] Speaker 2: density lipoprotein form of cholesterol, if you have too much
[3:20] Speaker 2: of that, it could be a problem for you. The
[3:24] Speaker 2: so called good cholesterol may not be so beneficial after all,
[3:29] Speaker 2: and could even leave you blind. That's what concerning research
[3:35] Speaker 2: is now suggesting. High density lipoprotein cholesterol HDL has long
[3:41] Speaker 2: been considered good because it because of the swath I
[3:46] Speaker 2: guess you should say, swath of evidence showing it protects
[3:50] Speaker 2: your heart, your cardiovascular system, your blood vessels. In fact,
[3:55] Speaker 2: HDL cholesterol removes cholesterol from your arteries and carries it
[3:59] Speaker 2: to your liver to be broken down and removed from
[4:02] Speaker 2: your body, reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
[4:08] Speaker 2: But some research has since stated that there may be
[4:14] Speaker 2: a problem and what they're looking at is a challenge
[4:18] Speaker 2: to the view that more is better. Now scientists who
[4:23] Speaker 2: have tracked almost seven thousand people, found that higher levels
[4:28] Speaker 2: of HDL cholesterol actually raise the risk of interocular pressure
[4:36] Speaker 2: and incurable eye condition called glaucoma. Now they were ten
[4:42] Speaker 2: percent more likely to develop the condition glaucoma people with
[4:47] Speaker 2: high HDL cholesterol. And I know a lot of people
[4:50] Speaker 2: who jump up and say, oh yeah, my HDL. It's fantastic.
[4:54] Speaker 2: It's higher than the doctors, it's higher than anybody's. I
[4:58] Speaker 2: challenge anybody to have higher HDL than me. But unfortunately
[5:03] Speaker 2: this can lead to vision loss compared to those with
[5:08] Speaker 2: the lowest levels of HDL. By contrast, participants in the
[5:14] Speaker 2: study with the highest levels of low density lipoprotein LDL cholesterol,
[5:19] Speaker 2: we also refer to that as the lousy form of cholesterol,
[5:25] Speaker 2: as in L typically considered harmful, we're eight percent less
[5:29] Speaker 2: likely to develop the eye disease glaucoma. That is the
[5:34] Speaker 2: I think it's the second leading cause of blindness worldwide.
[5:37] Speaker 2: Writing in the British Journal of Ophthalmology, they added HDL
[5:40] Speaker 2: cholesterol has been regarded as a good cholesterol for seven decades. However,
[5:45] Speaker 2: this study demonstrates that high levels of HDL high density
[5:49] Speaker 2: lipoprotein cholesterol are not consistently associated with favorable prognostic outcome,
[5:57] Speaker 2: particularly when it comes to vision, and this could prompt
[6:02] Speaker 2: a reevaluation of lipid management fat management strategies in patients
[6:09] Speaker 2: at risk for glockoma. Further studies are course needed to
[6:13] Speaker 2: investigate the mechanisms behind this association. But cholesterol, folks, it's
[6:17] Speaker 2: a fatty, waxy substance found in the blood that is
[6:21] Speaker 2: vital for bodily functions including digestion, cell membrane. It's an antioxidant,
[6:27] Speaker 2: protection making vitamin D, making sex hormones, and of course
[6:31] Speaker 2: cardiovascular health. However, too much of the wrong type of
[6:38] Speaker 2: cholesterol and that's where we get to the better news here,
[6:42] Speaker 2: and you should write this down. Make sure your doctor
[6:45] Speaker 2: is checking your APO, your APPO lipoprotein B number B
[6:53] Speaker 2: that's the bad one. And also they can check while
[6:55] Speaker 2: they're at it, small particle cholesterol. Now, these two are
[6:59] Speaker 2: very dangerous compared to total cholesterol, which has very little
[7:02] Speaker 2: significance or LDL HDL not as significant as the measure
[7:08] Speaker 2: of APO. That's ApoB and small particle cholesterol. Now, they
[7:13] Speaker 2: can build up in the blood due to eating unhealthy
[7:16] Speaker 2: fats and exit not exercising enough and being overweight, and
[7:19] Speaker 2: smoking and eating too much sugar and drinking alcohol. That's
[7:23] Speaker 2: how these numbers, Your cholesterol numbers get upside down, particularly
[7:27] Speaker 2: if you're genetically disposed to that. Having high LDL cholesterol
[7:32] Speaker 2: doesn't appear, doesn't trigger any symptoms, but can lead to
[7:36] Speaker 2: of course, blocked blood vessels and raise the risk of
[7:39] Speaker 2: heart problems and strokes. Now in the study, the researchers
[7:42] Speaker 2: quizzed another study quizzed over four hundred thousand people between
[7:47] Speaker 2: the ages of forty and sixty nine on their health history. Also,
[7:51] Speaker 2: these people had been tested, including the measure of their
[7:55] Speaker 2: blood fats. Over a follow up period of over fourteen years,
[8:00] Speaker 2: thousands developed glockoma and eye conditions capable of causing blindness
[8:06] Speaker 2: because they had high HDL levels. They're still looking at
[8:11] Speaker 2: it though, and compared with the participants who didn't develop glocoma,
[8:15] Speaker 2: the second leading cause of blindness on the planet, those
[8:18] Speaker 2: who did were more likely to be X smokers, statin
[8:23] Speaker 2: cholesterol lowering drug takers, and had diabetes, high blood pressure,
[8:28] Speaker 2: or some type of cardiovascular disease. But analysis of the
[8:31] Speaker 2: blood tests showed that higher levels of good HDL cholesterol
[8:37] Speaker 2: specifically were associated with a heightened level of this eye condition.
[8:42] Speaker 2: This eye disease called glocoma, which you never ever want
[8:44] Speaker 2: to have. Every increase in HDL levels was associated with
[8:49] Speaker 2: a five percent higher risk of glaucoma. The findings build
[8:54] Speaker 2: on previous research which has suggested there may be a
[8:57] Speaker 2: link between high cholesterol l and an increased risk of glaucoma.
[9:02] Speaker 2: Glaucoma is usually caused by the fluid slowly building up
[9:07] Speaker 2: in the front part of the eye, which increases pressure
[9:11] Speaker 2: inside of the eye and as a result that all
[9:15] Speaker 2: important optic nerve which connects the eye to the brain
[9:19] Speaker 2: becomes damaged from the pressure. Glaucoma, which develops slowly over
[9:24] Speaker 2: many years in most cases, can lead to loss of
[9:29] Speaker 2: vision if not treated properly. And that's why you need
[9:31] Speaker 2: to see eye doctors, both ophthalmologists and or a optometrist
[9:37] Speaker 2: on a regular basis to have your glocoma checked. Interocular
[9:40] Speaker 2: pressure it's that little puff of air in the eye.
[9:42] Speaker 2: Everybody should get that checked on a regular basis. In
[9:44] Speaker 2: my opinion, medical treatment aims to lower this pressure through
[9:49] Speaker 2: of course, they use prescription eye drops, oral drugs, oral medications.
[9:55] Speaker 2: Laser treatment sometimes are employed. Surgery or a combination of
[9:58] Speaker 2: these are employed. There are some of the options, and
[10:03] Speaker 2: there's also, of course lifestyle strategies that you can employ. Acupuncture, nutraceutical,
[10:09] Speaker 2: vitamins and herbs all capable of helping glaucoma. So get
[10:14] Speaker 2: off the sugar, the alcohol, the caffeine. Those are all
[10:19] Speaker 2: things that can exacerbate it. And well, look, especially if
[10:24] Speaker 2: you have a history of problems, have your doctor the
[10:27] Speaker 2: next time your blood is tested, check this APO APO
[10:33] Speaker 2: lipoprotein B. Also C reactive cardiosensitive C reactive protein should
[10:39] Speaker 2: be tested. It's more important, I think than the cholesterol numbers, ferretin,
[10:44] Speaker 2: fibrinogen TMAO. Make sure you're taking Omega three fatty acids.
[10:51] Speaker 2: I'll have comments as well as another doctor's comments on this.
[10:54] Speaker 2: Prominent medical doctor talks about the fraud in statin drugs
[10:58] Speaker 2: and cholesterol. After this, I'm doctor Bob Mark, doctor Bob
[11:00] Speaker 2: Margin with an important message from doctor Earle Mendel, PhD,
[11:05] Speaker 2: pharmacist and author.
[11:07] Speaker 3: Thirty years ago, high in the Sierra Mountain, something more

[12:35] Speaker 2: veteran listeners who are telling other people to tune in
[12:37] Speaker 2: as well so they can learn about how to take
[12:40] Speaker 2: better care of their health and become their own best
[12:44] Speaker 2: doctors just like you. It's not that hard. It's just
[12:49] Speaker 2: knowledge and information that you put into action. That's why
[12:52] Speaker 2: we're here. That's the purpose of this show, and if
[12:57] Speaker 2: you like it, be sure to log onto the website
[13:00] Speaker 2: and check out all the news that we have over
[13:02] Speaker 2: there at doctor bob dot com spelling out the word doctor.
[13:07] Speaker 2: You've also got social media platforms over there, Instagram, x, LinkedIn,
[13:13] Speaker 2: and I post up on those and you can stay
[13:15] Speaker 2: apprized of all the latest breaking stuff or things we're
[13:18] Speaker 2: going to be talking about on the show. Before the
[13:19] Speaker 2: show happens, you can remind yourself to tune in, and
[13:23] Speaker 2: of course that's where the podcast library lives recordings of
[13:26] Speaker 2: this show. In case you miss something or you want
[13:29] Speaker 2: to refer somebody to it. It's all there doctor bob
[13:32] Speaker 2: dot com spelling out the word doctor. Now if you're
[13:35] Speaker 2: just tuning in, I just in the first segment talked
[13:39] Speaker 2: about how researchers have discovered how that not all good
[13:44] Speaker 2: cholesterol is that good for your eyes, especially when it's
[13:47] Speaker 2: in excess. When it's in excess, the good cholesterol, the
[13:53] Speaker 2: HDL high density lipoprotein, when it's in excess in certain people,
[14:02] Speaker 2: it can increase your risk of a blinding eye disease
[14:05] Speaker 2: we call glackoma. You don't want that, So what do
[14:10] Speaker 2: you do? Well? You make sure that you do everything
[14:14] Speaker 2: you can excuse me on your side by living a
[14:18] Speaker 2: healthy lifestyle and not increasing your risk of heart disease
[14:22] Speaker 2: or glocoma or any other health related problem for that matter,
[14:26] Speaker 2: And you ask your doctor, can they please besides the
[14:31] Speaker 2: typical lipid panels, the typical cholesterol panels, which tell very
[14:37] Speaker 2: very little about your cardiovascular health. In fact, many people
[14:43] Speaker 2: have completely totally normal cholesterol according to those minimal panels
[14:50] Speaker 2: that insurance companies will pay for. But they won't pay
[14:55] Speaker 2: for anything more sophisticated than that, And perhaps that's why
[14:58] Speaker 2: they give grief to doctor who try to run them,
[15:01] Speaker 2: because they're going to charge the insurance company more. They
[15:04] Speaker 2: are trying to mitigate their costs, so they do everything
[15:08] Speaker 2: to paper the doctor so that they have to explain
[15:11] Speaker 2: away their reasoning for running some of these more sophisticated
[15:14] Speaker 2: tests which are more valid for cardiovascular health. Now, if
[15:19] Speaker 2: your doctor recognizes this and is willing to go to
[15:23] Speaker 2: work for you and fight for adding to a normal
[15:29] Speaker 2: cholesterol lipid panel, adding especially the laboratory values checking for
[15:37] Speaker 2: you should write these down and list them to your
[15:40] Speaker 2: doctor the next time you go in or call the
[15:43] Speaker 2: office and say and ask the nurse, did the doctor
[15:46] Speaker 2: the last time I was into the office, did they
[15:49] Speaker 2: check my homo cistine level? Homo cystine level. That is
[15:54] Speaker 2: as important as any cholesterol number there is because it
[15:57] Speaker 2: shows high degrees of risk, not just for cardiovascular disease,
[16:01] Speaker 2: but also Alzeimer's disease. If your doctor the last time
[16:06] Speaker 2: ran a cardiosensitive C reactive protein excellent, If not, get
[16:12] Speaker 2: it done apo B ApoB that's at APO lipoprotein B.
[16:18] Speaker 2: That's the very dangerous form of cholesterol that is not
[16:22] Speaker 2: typically run in a medical cholesterol panel. Knowing that will
[16:27] Speaker 2: give you a lot of information as to what you
[16:31] Speaker 2: need to do on your side of the schedule to
[16:33] Speaker 2: protect yourself from cardiovascular disease. Because people going to their
[16:37] Speaker 2: doctor's office and have normal cholesterol all the time and
[16:40] Speaker 2: fall over from a heart attack with one hundred and
[16:44] Speaker 2: fifty total cholesterol or one hundred and seventy five total cholesterol,
[16:49] Speaker 2: And the reason for that is that we don't know
[16:52] Speaker 2: what kind of cholesterol they have. They could have had
[16:54] Speaker 2: the dangerous one. It was never even tested for. They
[16:56] Speaker 2: weren't tested for homocysteine, they weren't tested for the real
[17:00] Speaker 2: smoking gun of cardiovascular disease which has to which happens
[17:03] Speaker 2: to be inflammation. They're not measuring your inflammatory markers. How
[17:09] Speaker 2: can they know your status of cardiovascular disease. The answer
[17:13] Speaker 2: is they can't by only looking at a standard minimal
[17:19] Speaker 2: lipid panel, a cholesterol panel, and that's typically what is
[17:22] Speaker 2: run in the vast majority of doctors' offices. You deserve more,
[17:27] Speaker 2: You should have more. More information gives you better, a
[17:31] Speaker 2: better forward site to how to stay healthy. So homocysteine,
[17:37] Speaker 2: cardio sensitive C reaction, protein apo B, ApoB, ferretin, fibrinagen,
[17:45] Speaker 2: and TMAO. And if your doctor's real creative, why don't
[17:49] Speaker 2: they run an Omega three to omega six ratio blood
[17:53] Speaker 2: test so you can see what good fats you have
[17:57] Speaker 2: over the bad fats that you could be taking, and
[18:00] Speaker 2: then your diet and then you can adjust your Omega
[18:02] Speaker 2: three supplementation accordingly. That's a better program. And if you
[18:07] Speaker 2: can't find a doctor who is willing or able to
[18:11] Speaker 2: do this, fire the doctor you have and get another
[18:15] Speaker 2: one who is. Remember the relationship. You're the boss, they
[18:20] Speaker 2: work for you. You're the employer, they're the employee. You
[18:24] Speaker 2: don't have to cow down to the arrogance of a
[18:29] Speaker 2: doctor who believes he's a god because they have a
[18:33] Speaker 2: ceremonially draped stethoscope and a white coat on. You don't.
[18:39] Speaker 2: You do not, And you can find a caring doctor
[18:43] Speaker 2: out there who will work with you, who will partner
[18:48] Speaker 2: with you to find out your true health status. Once
[18:52] Speaker 2: your values are known, then you can, of course you can.
[18:56] Speaker 2: The same doctor who's willing to take these tests can
[19:00] Speaker 2: and somebody who's trained in clinical nutrition can evaluate those values,
[19:04] Speaker 2: can look at those and say, oh yeah, your TMAO
[19:08] Speaker 2: is off the chart. That leaves you at a high risk,
[19:10] Speaker 2: according to Cleveland Clinic of having a heart attack. Your
[19:14] Speaker 2: fibrinagen is real high. Your blood is very viscous, it's
[19:17] Speaker 2: very thick. It's very problematic. You can have a clot immediately.
[19:21] Speaker 2: Your a po B is high. We need to do this.
[19:23] Speaker 2: Your C reactive proteins you're on fire. You're inflamed. We
[19:27] Speaker 2: need to get that down. You can't tell that in
[19:29] Speaker 2: none of that information with a standard cholesterol panel, you can't.
[19:32] Speaker 2: It's impossible. So find a doctor who's trained in clinical nutrition,
[19:38] Speaker 2: and you can find those doctors in different healing arts
[19:42] Speaker 2: could be a chiropractic physician trained in clinical nutrition. Could
[19:47] Speaker 2: be a nature pathic physician trained in clinical nutrition, could
[19:51] Speaker 2: be a PhD trained in clinical nutrition, could be a
[19:54] Speaker 2: functional medicine doctor md D zero that are trained in
[19:59] Speaker 2: U basically of functional medicine. Here's what a doctor says,
[20:06] Speaker 2: a prominent doctor about statins in cholesterol. This doctor is
[20:11] Speaker 2: he knows exactly what he's talking about. I can tell
[20:15] Speaker 2: you that his name is doctor Raymond Francis. Listen to
[20:19] Speaker 2: what he has to say about cholesterol and statins go.
[20:24] Speaker 5: Statin drugs to lower cholesterol are over prescribed, ineffective, and dangerous.
[20:31] Speaker 5: No one needs a statin drug. Doudies show they do
[20:35] Speaker 5: nothing to prolong lives. Yet fifteen million Americans are taking
[20:40] Speaker 5: these things to lower their cholesterol, completely ignoring the fact
[20:44] Speaker 5: that cholesterol is not the problem. You know, more than
[20:47] Speaker 5: seventy five percent of people who suffer heart attacks have
[20:50] Speaker 5: normal or low cholesterol.
[20:52] Speaker 2: The real problem is inflammation.
[20:55] Speaker 5: What is needed is not a drug to lower cholesterol,
[20:58] Speaker 5: but something to lower inflammation, like vitamin C. The side
[21:03] Speaker 5: effects of statins are horrendous. I mean they include muscle aches,
[21:08] Speaker 5: increase risk of cancer, yes, cancer and diabetes, and memory
[21:13] Speaker 5: loss and artery calcification, vitamin deficiencies.
[21:18] Speaker 2: There you have. You were listening there to a doctor,
[21:21] Speaker 2: a medical doctor by the name of doctor Raymond Francis,
[21:24] Speaker 2: a very prominent and well respected doctor, really telling it
[21:27] Speaker 2: like it is. I mean, some of these doctors, you know,
[21:31] Speaker 2: they finally realize what they've been doing all along, and
[21:34] Speaker 2: that is nothing for their patients with statin drugs. And
[21:39] Speaker 2: then they've had their come to Jesus moment and they
[21:43] Speaker 2: they they want to set the record straight before they die,
[21:47] Speaker 2: you know, And I appreciate that, but that's his opinion.
[21:52] Speaker 2: I mean, he's limiting with vitamin C is great, but
[21:55] Speaker 2: it certainly limited. But I think you get the idea.
[21:58] Speaker 2: All right, we're gonna come. I can go to your
[22:00] Speaker 2: telephone calls and questions. Stay tuned. You're tuned into the
[22:03] Speaker 2: Doctor Bob Martin Show. Are you waiting for the right excuse?
[22:08] Speaker 6: Are you waiting for sign and choose?
[22:11] Speaker 7: While you waiting the time?
[22:25] Speaker 2: Type phone.
[22:30] Speaker 1: Money?
[22:30] Speaker 2: You inho? I welcome you or welcome you back to
[22:36] Speaker 2: this hour of the Doctor Bob Martin's Show. I also
[22:41] Speaker 2: want to encourage you to stick around because later in
[22:44] Speaker 2: the show I'm going to be talking about a popular
[22:47] Speaker 2: fermented food that you know about linked now linked to
[22:52] Speaker 2: a decrease in the incidence of colorectal cancer, which is
[22:58] Speaker 2: on the rise. In investigators and scientists are going what
[23:02] Speaker 2: is going on here? A recent study led by the
[23:05] Speaker 2: American Cancer Society researchers shows that early onset coorectal cancer
[23:11] Speaker 2: incidence rates are rising in people all over the world
[23:18] Speaker 2: in twenty seven of fifty countries territories worldwide, twenty of
[23:24] Speaker 2: which have either exclusive or faster increases for early onset disease.
[23:33] Speaker 2: The study, published in Gut Microbes from mass General Bringham
[23:39] Speaker 2: found that long term consumption of a popular fermented food
[23:44] Speaker 2: may help to protect against the development of coorectal cancer,
[23:48] Speaker 2: which is on the rise in a big way. So
[23:52] Speaker 2: stick around for that. That's coming up on the program today. Now,
[23:56] Speaker 2: before we go to your phone calls on the topic
[23:59] Speaker 2: of health, the Doctor Bob Martin Show caller hotline phone
[24:04] Speaker 2: number of eight hundred six to zero six eight eight
[24:07] Speaker 2: two two eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two.
[24:13] Speaker 2: You know, I want to remind you that nature often
[24:17] Speaker 2: provides our medicines, the natural stuff through our food supply
[24:22] Speaker 2: to help us stay healthy. And well, we just have
[24:24] Speaker 2: to figure it out and find it and consume it.
[24:28] Speaker 2: It's kind of like you've probably noticed this. When dogs
[24:33] Speaker 2: get sick, they are carnivores. They eat meat mostly. They
[24:38] Speaker 2: go out when they're sick, however, and they eat grass
[24:41] Speaker 2: or they try to find some shrub to eat. Other
[24:44] Speaker 2: animals can be observed doing this as well, horses eating
[24:48] Speaker 2: certain herbs when they're sick. They know what remedies how
[24:51] Speaker 2: to help themselves out. They can't talk to us, so
[24:54] Speaker 2: they just innately know. I think we innately know too.
[24:58] Speaker 2: We just have to learn how to listen to our bodies.
[25:02] Speaker 2: And therein lies the information that I want you to
[25:05] Speaker 2: have that there is a substance that comes in minuscule
[25:09] Speaker 2: amounts in certain foods that if we eat more of
[25:13] Speaker 2: it in a therapeutic way, and let's say a nutritional
[25:17] Speaker 2: supplement way, we can benefit by a big time if
[25:21] Speaker 2: we can just figure it out. That substance is kind
[25:24] Speaker 2: of technical. The technical chemical name of it called palmittoy lethanolamine.
[25:31] Speaker 2: Palmitoy lethanolamine just let's just say pea for short. That's
[25:37] Speaker 2: all you need to remember is pea for short. It's
[25:40] Speaker 2: a special nutrient found in minuscule quantities and egg yolks
[25:44] Speaker 2: and other forms of food. You'd have to eat thirty
[25:47] Speaker 2: sixty eggs to get a therapeutic dose of it. However,
[25:52] Speaker 2: scientific research shows that this substance PEA can address all
[25:58] Speaker 2: kinds of health related conditions, including muscle pain and recovery
[26:02] Speaker 2: arthritis symptoms if you get enough of it, improve more
[26:05] Speaker 2: mobility and cognitive health, and a multitude of other health conditions,
[26:10] Speaker 2: including allergies, respiratory symptoms, and even fibromyalgia, which is an
[26:17] Speaker 2: enigma to medical the medical system and because of this
[26:23] Speaker 2: pea's anti inflammatory action, researchers have investigated its ability to
[26:29] Speaker 2: relieve pain in a variety of conditions including scianica, peripheral neuropathy,
[26:34] Speaker 2: temporal mandibular joint problems TMJ pain, just to name a few. Plus,
[26:39] Speaker 2: in scientific research on the most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis,
[26:45] Speaker 2: PEA lowered levels of inflammatory markers, slow damage of the
[26:50] Speaker 2: cartilage between the bones, and reduced knee swelling. So if
[26:54] Speaker 2: you are looking to improve your overall health, consider supplementing
[26:59] Speaker 2: with PEA for relief of both acute and chronic pain,
[27:03] Speaker 2: better physical recovery, from injuries, improve mood and focus, and
[27:06] Speaker 2: a robust immune system response. You can take pea in
[27:12] Speaker 2: a supplement from Terry Naturally Vitamins. Terry Naturally Vitamins puts
[27:17] Speaker 2: out the best form of supplement in pea. You may
[27:22] Speaker 2: find pea the supplement at find your health food stores
[27:26] Speaker 2: nationwide or go to Terry Naturally Vitamins dot com. That's
[27:30] Speaker 2: Terry Naturally Vitamins dot com to find the supplement pea.
[27:36] Speaker 2: All right, let's get to work now with your telephone
[27:39] Speaker 2: calls and your questions. And when you hear people calling
[27:43] Speaker 2: into the program asking their health question and I'm responding
[27:47] Speaker 2: to it, you can do the very same thing. All
[27:48] Speaker 2: you have to do is go over to your telephone
[27:49] Speaker 2: and call in. You'll hear me answer the phone. I'll
[27:53] Speaker 2: ask you to state your first name, first name. Only
[27:56] Speaker 2: make sure your radio is turned down before you make
[27:59] Speaker 2: the call. We don't want blome airing in the background.
[28:01] Speaker 2: It's very distracting. I'll ask you to state your first name,
[28:04] Speaker 2: the city and state you're living in, and then your
[28:06] Speaker 2: question and or or your health related comment. It's that simple.
[28:11] Speaker 2: That number eight hundred six zero six eight eight two
[28:14] Speaker 2: two eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two.
[28:18] Speaker 2: Doesn't matter where you're at. It is a toll free
[28:21] Speaker 2: nationwide call. You can call any time of the night
[28:24] Speaker 2: or day. In fact, call right now one eight hundred
[28:27] Speaker 2: six zero six eight eight two to two to ask
[28:30] Speaker 2: your health related question about yourself or somebody else, or

[34:58] Speaker 2: Okay, Robert Quick, that was quick at East See. No,
[35:00] Speaker 2: there is not. There's no cure for emphasema. Once you

[35:08] Speaker 2: It's like trying to fix a scar. That can't happen either,
[35:12] Speaker 2: they become charcoal lungs. You probably smoked, unfortunately, but you
[35:18] Speaker 2: can save the lung function that you have, of course,

[36:46] Speaker 11: put her on Eloquist five milligrams twice a day, and
[36:52] Speaker 11: I wanted to know. I've been hearing about your vascular
[36:58] Speaker 11: defense supplement, and I wondered what she could do about
[37:07] Speaker 11: switching from the Eloquist to the vascular defense. I realized
[37:12] Speaker 11: that she should do that with some professional supervision. Thank you.
[37:19] Speaker 2: All right, David, thank you for your phone call. Yes,
[37:22] Speaker 2: your wife needs to be monitored medically. Maybe the doctors
[37:26] Speaker 2: are measuring her I n R, her pt or PTT,
[37:29] Speaker 2: her fibrinogen or whatever her doctor chooses while she under
[37:34] Speaker 2: the doctors supervision, or a pharmacist phases out of Eloquest.
[37:38] Speaker 2: My sister did the same thing, and yes, the vascular
[37:44] Speaker 2: Vascular defense is not my formula. It's a company that
[37:47] Speaker 2: makes it, and yes, it works very well at helping
[37:50] Speaker 2: these kinds of problems. All right, thanks for your call.

[41:44] Speaker 2: a popular fermented food linked to the decrease incidents of
[41:50] Speaker 2: colorectal cancer, which happens to be on the rise big
[41:55] Speaker 2: time right now. Knowing what that food is and consuming
[41:59] Speaker 2: that food will reduce your risk going forward of cola
[42:03] Speaker 2: rectal cancer according to the latest research, So stand by
[42:07] Speaker 2: for that. Let's get right back to work, however, with
[42:10] Speaker 2: your telephone calls and questions before the end of the hour.
[42:12] Speaker 2: Next up is Anne calling in from Moline, Illinois, where
[42:16] Speaker 2: I got married. Welcome here.
[42:18] Speaker 12: My name is Anne and I am from Moline, Illinois
[42:22] Speaker 12: and my Christian I have recently been diagnosed with hereditary hemochromatosis.
[42:29] Speaker 12: I have no idea. There's no one I can think
[42:34] Speaker 12: of in my family that has had it, but apparently
[42:38] Speaker 12: there's been someone that I am not aware of in
[42:41] Speaker 12: the past. The doctor is having me, had me get
[42:48] Speaker 12: one pint of blood drawn one week, another pint the
[42:52] Speaker 12: next week, and then my hemoglobe and went too low
[42:55] Speaker 12: to draw blood went down to ten. I think it's
[43:01] Speaker 12: been about three months now since I've had any blood drawn,
[43:06] Speaker 12: which is to get the ferretin out. I was high
[43:08] Speaker 12: in ferretin is how they diagnosed it. I think it
[43:13] Speaker 12: might be back down. I go this week for another
[43:17] Speaker 12: check and hopefully another draw which would only be a halfapine.
[43:21] Speaker 12: He switched me down. Is there anything other suggestions you
[43:27] Speaker 12: could give me to help me with this hereditary hema?
[43:31] Speaker 12: I don't know hereditary hemochromatosis. I appreciate it and thank
[43:40] Speaker 12: you for the advice.
[43:42] Speaker 2: Bye, all right and happy to help you. Have treated
[43:46] Speaker 2: many cases of hemochromatosis or iron storage disease, and there
[43:50] Speaker 2: is good news for you. There's a supplement at the
[43:52] Speaker 2: health food store you should be on called lacto farrin.
[43:55] Speaker 2: Lacto farrin go get it. Also, milk thistle, which is
[43:59] Speaker 2: an herb, helps you in this regard. Now, if you
[44:02] Speaker 2: were to consume more phytates in food, these are elements
[44:07] Speaker 2: that are stored in forms of phosphorus are found in
[44:11] Speaker 2: whole grains one hundred percent whole grains, nuts, seeds, lentils,
[44:15] Speaker 2: and beans. They reduce the absorption of the heme iron.
[44:20] Speaker 2: Make sure you're not taking a lot of vitamin see
[44:22] Speaker 2: supplements either, because that increases your absorption of iron as well.
[44:26] Speaker 2: And obviously you need to be avoiding iron rich foods
[44:32] Speaker 2: as well. But you can say goodbye to the blood
[44:38] Speaker 2: letting the therapeutic phlebotomies to get rid of pints of
[44:41] Speaker 2: blood so inconvenient. And don't believe just because it's hereditary
[44:46] Speaker 2: nothing can be done about it. This lactoferrin supplement is
[44:50] Speaker 2: incredible at lowering ferretin counts and all you have to
[44:54] Speaker 2: do is just swallow it. It's safe, natural and science based.
[44:58] Speaker 2: So there you go and appreciate your phone call. Stay tuned.
[45:02] Speaker 2: You're tuned into the Doctor Bob Martin Show
