[0:10] Speaker 1: Welcome to the number one radio health talk show in America,
[0:13] Speaker 1: The Doctor Bob Martin Show. Doctor Martin is a chiropractic physician,
[0:18] Speaker 1: a Board certified clinical nutritionist, and diplomat of the American
[0:21] Speaker 1: Academy of Anti Aging Medicine. The information presented on this
[0:25] Speaker 1: show is educational in nature. Please consult your personal healthcare
[0:29] Speaker 1: provider regarding health issues. You may have got a health
[0:32] Speaker 1: related problem or challenge, not feeling well, and you just
[0:35] Speaker 1: don't know where to turn or what to do. Doctor
[0:38] Speaker 1: Bob Martin is here for you and will do his
[0:40] Speaker 1: very best to answer your health question. The tone free
[0:43] Speaker 1: number to ask Doctor Martin a health question or to
[0:46] Speaker 1: make a health related comment is eight hundred six oh
[0:49] Speaker 1: six eighty eight twenty two. Eight hundred six oh six
[0:52] Speaker 1: eighty eight twenty two. That's eight hundred six zero six
[0:56] Speaker 1: eighty eight twenty two. It's the Doctor Bob Martin the Show.
[1:01] Speaker 2: Welcome to The Doctor Bob Martin Show, presented by Health
[1:05] Speaker 2: Talk America. I'm doctor Adam Brockman, and if you're just
[1:08] Speaker 2: joining us, you've stepped into the vanguard of health. You know.
[1:13] Speaker 2: I was thinking this morning about why our audience, why
[1:18] Speaker 2: you are so different from the folks listening to those
[1:22] Speaker 2: other health shows. Most people are walking around in a
[1:27] Speaker 2: bit of this medical fog. They wait for that check
[1:30] Speaker 2: engine light to come on before they even think about
[1:33] Speaker 2: their health. They wait for that diagnosis and a prescription
[1:36] Speaker 2: and a permission slip from their insurance company to feel better.
[1:40] Speaker 2: But not you. You're the health pioneers. You're the ones
[1:45] Speaker 2: who realize that your health isn't something that happens to you.
[1:49] Speaker 2: It's something you build every single day. And we don't
[1:53] Speaker 2: wait for the wheels to fall off the wagon. We're
[1:56] Speaker 2: the ones upgrading that engine while we're driving. We're here
[2:01] Speaker 2: to stay ahead of that curve, to look for those
[2:04] Speaker 2: root causes and to challenge that status quo of a
[2:08] Speaker 2: system that's often more interested in managing your symptoms rather
[2:13] Speaker 2: than cure in your body. And so you're the active
[2:16] Speaker 2: participants in your health. You are your own best doctor,
[2:20] Speaker 2: and we appreciate your feedback and your questions. So here's
[2:24] Speaker 2: the number to write down to ask your own health
[2:27] Speaker 2: related question. It is eight hundred six zero six eight
[2:32] Speaker 2: eight two two. Again, that's eight hundred six zero six
[2:35] Speaker 2: eight A two to two. Or you can visit our
[2:37] Speaker 2: website and ask a question there at doctor bob dot
[2:42] Speaker 2: com and that's spelling out the word doctor doct r
[2:45] Speaker 2: bob dot com. And folks, this hour is going to
[2:48] Speaker 2: go by quick. We're going to start with our health headlines,
[2:52] Speaker 2: move into women's health, and fellows, you need to listen
[2:56] Speaker 2: up here too, and finish strong with our health alternative,
[3:00] Speaker 2: our health outrage, and our health mystery. So today's health headlines,
[3:04] Speaker 2: we're going to be talking about everything from molecular shredders
[3:07] Speaker 2: to blood tests that act like a crystal ball for
[3:10] Speaker 2: your longevity. It's a great new world and I'm going
[3:15] Speaker 2: to make sure you have that roadmap. So let's go
[3:17] Speaker 2: ahead and dive into this week's health headlines. Our first
[3:30] Speaker 2: headline is happening right now in the labs at the
[3:33] Speaker 2: University of Utah. We've all heard of Crisper, that genetic
[3:37] Speaker 2: scissors that can snip out a bad gene and replace it.
[3:40] Speaker 2: It's been that darling of the biotech world for about
[3:43] Speaker 2: a decade now, but researchers have discovered a new variant
[3:47] Speaker 2: called CAST twelve A two that doesn't just snip. This
[3:52] Speaker 2: acts like a molecular paper shredder, and instead of delicately
[3:57] Speaker 2: editing a strand of DNA. When this protein finds a
[4:01] Speaker 2: specific target it's say it's a cancer cell or a
[4:05] Speaker 2: viral invader, it goes into this shredder mode. It starts
[4:09] Speaker 2: ripping apart all the DNA and RNA inside the cell,
[4:13] Speaker 2: and it's essentially a self destruct button for these sick cells.
[4:19] Speaker 2: And this is shocking because for years, that shotgun approach
[4:22] Speaker 2: of chemotherapy has been our only real weapon against this
[4:27] Speaker 2: systemic issue. And chemo kills everything as path the good,
[4:31] Speaker 2: the bad, the ugly, leaving you often depleted and exhausted.
[4:35] Speaker 2: But this crisper shredder is targeted. It's like a smart
[4:39] Speaker 2: bomb for your biology. So it ignores these healthy cells,
[4:43] Speaker 2: which is what you want, and it obliterates the ones
[4:46] Speaker 2: that shouldn't be there that make you sick. This is
[4:49] Speaker 2: that definition of what we talk about on the show,
[4:52] Speaker 2: the precision medicine, and it's a total game changer for
[4:55] Speaker 2: how we might treat stubborn virus and aggressive cancers in
[4:58] Speaker 2: a very near future. Okay, let's go ahead and move
[5:02] Speaker 2: on to longevity. And we all want to know how
[5:06] Speaker 2: am I really doing. You get your cholesterol checked, you
[5:10] Speaker 2: look at your blood pressure, maybe even look at your
[5:13] Speaker 2: calcium score. But this new study coming out of Duke
[5:16] Speaker 2: University has found something more profound. They are calling it
[5:20] Speaker 2: the crystal Ball blood test. So researchers found that tiny
[5:24] Speaker 2: fragments in our own blood called pi RNAs can predict
[5:30] Speaker 2: short term survival in seniors with an eighty six percent accuracy.
[5:34] Speaker 2: So think about that. These little biological markers are better
[5:38] Speaker 2: at predicting your health than almost any other test we
[5:42] Speaker 2: currently use in a standard physical and most of the
[5:45] Speaker 2: medical establishment is hyper focused on LDL cholesterol, which as
[5:50] Speaker 2: we know, is a very small part of a much
[5:53] Speaker 2: larger story. Meanwhile, these pi RNAs are acting like a
[5:59] Speaker 2: biological and it's whispering that truth about how fast you're
[6:03] Speaker 2: aging on the inside. So this is an incredible tool
[6:07] Speaker 2: for those of us focused on life extension. If we
[6:10] Speaker 2: can see that storm coming before the symptoms appear, we
[6:13] Speaker 2: can change that weather. We can adjust your nutrition, your
[6:17] Speaker 2: supplementation in your lifestyle to flip the switch on these markers.
[6:21] Speaker 2: The next headline is one that hits home for what
[6:25] Speaker 2: we talk about often on the show. For years, we've
[6:28] Speaker 2: talked about this infection hypothesis with Alzheimer's we've argued that
[6:33] Speaker 2: dementia isn't just wearing out the brain, but it's often
[6:37] Speaker 2: a reaction to a hidden chronic infection. And this landmark
[6:41] Speaker 2: news study, this case study published in the Journal of
[6:44] Speaker 2: Alzheimer's Disease Reports, has provided this smoking gun. They took
[6:49] Speaker 2: a patient with chronic line disease and that was showing
[6:54] Speaker 2: these Alzheimer's biomarkers and cognitive decline, and instead of just
[6:59] Speaker 2: giving them a standard memory drugs that arguably do very little,
[7:03] Speaker 2: they use a specific DAPs in combination therapy. And dapsine
[7:08] Speaker 2: is an old school drug, but it's incredibly effective at
[7:11] Speaker 2: one thing, and that's penetrating biofilms. And you see what
[7:16] Speaker 2: line the line. Bacteria are smart. They build these biofilms,
[7:20] Speaker 2: essentially biological shields that hide them from your immune system
[7:24] Speaker 2: and also standard antibiotics. And by targeting these biofilms in
[7:29] Speaker 2: the brain, they were able to show a reversal of
[7:32] Speaker 2: Alzheimer's biomarkers. So let that sink in. This isn't just
[7:35] Speaker 2: about showing or slowing that decline. This is about moving
[7:40] Speaker 2: that needle in the opposite direction. It proves that for
[7:43] Speaker 2: many people, dementia might actually be an untreated hidden infection
[7:48] Speaker 2: living in the shadows of the brain. So if you've
[7:50] Speaker 2: been told that there's no hope for a loved one
[7:52] Speaker 2: with cognitive issues, it's time to ask about that root cause.
[7:56] Speaker 2: So don't just settle for a label when you could
[7:59] Speaker 2: be looking for a reason. So this next one is
[8:02] Speaker 2: for my plant based listeners out there, because this is
[8:05] Speaker 2: a good one here. For decades, the conventional wisdom was
[8:09] Speaker 2: that spirillina, that beautiful blue green algae, contains pseudo B twelve.
[8:15] Speaker 2: We were told that while it looked like B twelve
[8:17] Speaker 2: on a lab test, the human body couldn't actually absorb it. Well,
[8:21] Speaker 2: this pseudo B twelve myth has officially been busted. Scientists
[8:26] Speaker 2: have discovered that by using specific light frequencies in growth tanks,
[8:32] Speaker 2: mimicking the exact spectrum of the sun at different times
[8:35] Speaker 2: of the day, they can trigger the spirillina to produce
[8:38] Speaker 2: ninety eight percent bioavailable B twelve. So that's this beef
[8:43] Speaker 2: level B twelve folks. So this is a massive breakthrough
[8:47] Speaker 2: for natural nutrition. It means that we can get high potency,
[8:51] Speaker 2: high absorbable vitamin B twelve from a sustainable, whole food
[8:55] Speaker 2: source rather than just relying on synthetic lab made choices.
[9:01] Speaker 2: So it's a perfect example of how technology can help
[9:04] Speaker 2: us get back to nature's original design. The bioavailability is
[9:08] Speaker 2: the name of the game, so if you can't absorb it,
[9:11] Speaker 2: it doesn't matter how much you take. So we're always
[9:13] Speaker 2: looking for the most human compatible nutrients and this spearling
[9:18] Speaker 2: up upgrade is at the top of the list. And finally,
[9:21] Speaker 2: let's talk about a new approach to Lime's disease. Usually
[9:26] Speaker 2: when we talk about vaccines, we're talking about sticking a
[9:30] Speaker 2: needle in a human arm. But there is a new
[9:33] Speaker 2: field trial that's completely changing this path. They're launching an
[9:38] Speaker 2: oral vaccine for mice. And you ask why mice because
[9:43] Speaker 2: mice are the reservoir here. They are the primary hosts
[9:47] Speaker 2: that carry the lime disease and the line bacteria. Ticks
[9:50] Speaker 2: bite the mice, get the bacteria, and then they bite you.
[9:54] Speaker 2: So instead of trying to fix the human after the bite,
[9:57] Speaker 2: researchers are going directly to this which are mice. They
[10:02] Speaker 2: are putting out treated bait for mice, and by vaccinating
[10:05] Speaker 2: the mouse population they are seeing a significant drop in
[10:09] Speaker 2: the number of infected ticks in the wild. So that
[10:12] Speaker 2: is that is medicine at its finest. It's about fixing
[10:16] Speaker 2: the environment to protect the person. It's proactive, it's outside
[10:20] Speaker 2: the box, and it's exactly the kind of root cause
[10:23] Speaker 2: thinking that we need to see more in public health.
[10:27] Speaker 2: So there you have it. Those are the health headlines
[10:29] Speaker 2: for the week. If you have any questions about any
[10:32] Speaker 2: of these headlines we cover today, or if you want

[12:33] Speaker 2: I'm doctor Adam Brockman, and if you're just joining us,
[12:36] Speaker 2: you messed our health headlines for the week last segment,
[12:40] Speaker 2: but don't worry. We're just getting warmed up this hour. Now.

[12:50] Speaker 2: is at doctor Bob dot com. That's spelling out the
[12:53] Speaker 2: word doctor d O C T O R Bob dot com.
[12:56] Speaker 2: Or you can call our hotline which is eight hundred
[13:00] Speaker 2: six zero six eight eight two two. Again, that's eight
[13:02] Speaker 2: hundred six zero six eight eight two two. Now I
[13:06] Speaker 2: want to start talking to the women in our audience
[13:09] Speaker 2: and also the men who love them. We're going to
[13:12] Speaker 2: start to try to pull back this curtent on a
[13:14] Speaker 2: condition that has been pigeonholed, it's been mismanaged, and frankly,
[13:18] Speaker 2: it's been underestimated by the white code establishment for decades.
[13:23] Speaker 2: And I'm talking about PCOS. That's polycystic ovarian syndrome. And
[13:29] Speaker 2: for the longest time, if you were diagnosed with PCOS,
[13:33] Speaker 2: your doctor likely puts you in a very specific box.
[13:37] Speaker 2: They told you it's a fertility issue. They told you
[13:41] Speaker 2: it's about irregular periods, or maybe some unwanted hair growth,
[13:46] Speaker 2: and they handed you a prescription for birth control, maybe
[13:49] Speaker 2: some met forman if you were struggling with your weight,
[13:52] Speaker 2: and then they sent you on your way with good
[13:55] Speaker 2: luck and come back when you want to try to
[13:57] Speaker 2: get pregnant. And that was just a simple pat on
[14:00] Speaker 2: the back. So, folks, that approach isn't just outdated, I
[14:05] Speaker 2: think it's a little bit dangerous. So we're seeing this
[14:08] Speaker 2: new data that's just hitting the wires from a massive
[14:12] Speaker 2: Nordic study. We aren't talking about a small pilot study
[14:16] Speaker 2: with twelve people. We're talking about a review of over
[14:20] Speaker 2: seven hundred thousand women and researchers track these women for
[14:25] Speaker 2: decades and what they found is one of the reasons
[14:30] Speaker 2: why I want to introduce this story today. It's a
[14:32] Speaker 2: front page type of a headline. Women with PCOS were
[14:36] Speaker 2: found to have a thirty two to forty percent higher
[14:40] Speaker 2: risk of developing heart disease compared to women without the condition.
[14:45] Speaker 2: So I want you to think about that number for
[14:46] Speaker 2: a second. That is a massive spiking cardiovascular risk. But
[14:51] Speaker 2: here's the kicker, the part that really gets my blood
[14:55] Speaker 2: boil and en showed yours too. It exposes the average
[14:59] Speaker 2: health advice for the trap that it is. The study
[15:04] Speaker 2: found that this risk exists even for women of normal weight.
[15:10] Speaker 2: So we have been conditioned to believe that if your
[15:13] Speaker 2: BMI is in the green zone, you're safe. But for
[15:18] Speaker 2: the women with what we call that lean PCOS, that
[15:22] Speaker 2: danger is lurking beneath that surface. You can look fit,
[15:26] Speaker 2: you can run the marathons, you can eat salads, but
[15:29] Speaker 2: your system, systemic fire of PCOS is burning in your
[15:36] Speaker 2: vascular system and your heart is in that crosshairs. And
[15:39] Speaker 2: this is where the conventional model fails you. They look
[15:43] Speaker 2: at PCOS as a localized problem in the ovaries. But
[15:48] Speaker 2: as a longevity expert in somebody that's looking for those
[15:52] Speaker 2: root causes, I'm here to tell you PCOS is not
[15:57] Speaker 2: just a problem in your ovaries or a period problem.
[16:01] Speaker 2: It's a systemic metabolic and now it's a vascular wildfire.
[16:07] Speaker 2: So imagine your body is this high performance vehicle. PCOS
[16:12] Speaker 2: is like having a glitch in the fuel injection system
[16:15] Speaker 2: that's causing the engine to run too hot all the time,
[16:20] Speaker 2: and eventually that heat doesn't just stay in the engine.
[16:23] Speaker 2: It starts to melt the wires, and it warps the frame,
[16:26] Speaker 2: and it wears down the tires. And in your body,
[16:30] Speaker 2: that heat is in insulin resistance and chronic inflammation. Even
[16:35] Speaker 2: if you aren't overweight by the standard charts, your cells
[16:40] Speaker 2: might be still struggling to handle the glucose load, and
[16:43] Speaker 2: this leads to high levels of circulating insulin, which acts
[16:47] Speaker 2: like acid on that delicate lining of your blood vessels,
[16:51] Speaker 2: that endothelium. And when this lining gets damaged, your blood
[16:56] Speaker 2: vessels start to lose that bounce, they lose their vascular flexibility,
[17:01] Speaker 2: may become stiff and a scar and they're prone to plaquing.
[17:06] Speaker 2: So that is the hidden heart risk that no one
[17:09] Speaker 2: is telling you about in the obgyn's office. So let's
[17:14] Speaker 2: talk about that standard of care for a minute. If
[17:16] Speaker 2: you go to a typical clinic today, the solution for
[17:19] Speaker 2: pcos is always hormonal birth control, right, And the question
[17:27] Speaker 2: is why. Because it forces the bleed, it makes the
[17:31] Speaker 2: numbers on a blood test look pertier. But does birth
[17:35] Speaker 2: control fix that insulin resistance, does it extinguish that vascular fire,
[17:39] Speaker 2: or does it lower the forty percent increased risk of
[17:43] Speaker 2: that heart attack? And the answer is a resounding no.
[17:48] Speaker 2: In fact, in some cases, the synthetic hormones can actually
[17:51] Speaker 2: worsen insulin sensitivity and increase that risk of blood clots.
[17:56] Speaker 2: It's like putting a piece of black tape over that
[17:59] Speaker 2: check in light and telling you that your car is fixed.
[18:03] Speaker 2: And so then you look at metforman and when it's needed,
[18:07] Speaker 2: it's needed. But metforman is often used as a crutch
[18:10] Speaker 2: to avoid tackling that real issue, which is how your
[18:15] Speaker 2: body processes energy and manages the inflammation. So we need
[18:20] Speaker 2: to stop playing that whack a mole with the symptoms
[18:22] Speaker 2: and start protecting the pump. We need to focus on
[18:26] Speaker 2: vascular integrity. And if you want to protect your heart,
[18:30] Speaker 2: you have to address the pillars of the PCOS heart,
[18:35] Speaker 2: which is insulin sensitivity. And this is beyond carbs. It's
[18:40] Speaker 2: not about going keto. It's about making your cells. Here
[18:45] Speaker 2: that signal of the insulin again, so we look at
[18:48] Speaker 2: things like berberine and specific movement patterns that unlock the
[18:52] Speaker 2: muscle cells to soak up sugar without needing a massive
[18:56] Speaker 2: insulin spike. And then we look at quenching that inflame,
[19:00] Speaker 2: inimatory fire. And when I'm talking about here is that
[19:03] Speaker 2: oxidative stress. This is why I'm always harping on the
[19:07] Speaker 2: antioxidants and the high quality omega threes. We have to
[19:11] Speaker 2: stop the cellular rust from forming inside your arteries. And
[19:16] Speaker 2: then we need to look at nitric oxide in the
[19:18] Speaker 2: flow with that, so we want those blood vessels to
[19:22] Speaker 2: be like silk, not like the old PVC pipe. So
[19:26] Speaker 2: we need to support the production of nitric oxide to
[19:29] Speaker 2: keep these vessels dilated and flexible. So if you're listen
[19:34] Speaker 2: to this and you've been diagnosed with PCOS and you
[19:37] Speaker 2: have the symptoms, maybe it's adunl't acne, thinning, hair, stubborn
[19:42] Speaker 2: weight around the middle, I don't want you to panic.
[19:45] Speaker 2: I want you to feel empowered after this conversation. Knowledge
[19:50] Speaker 2: is that ultimate prescription. Now that you know that PCOS
[19:55] Speaker 2: is a cardiovascular smoke alarm, you can start to take
[19:59] Speaker 2: those steps to make sure that that fire never really starts.
[20:02] Speaker 2: You don't have to be as statistics. You don't have
[20:06] Speaker 2: to accept a forty percent higher risk as that cardiovascular destiny.
[20:12] Speaker 2: So this is about longevity. This is about making sure
[20:16] Speaker 2: that you're here not just for the next five years,
[20:19] Speaker 2: but for the next fifty with a heart that is strong,
[20:22] Speaker 2: resilient and clear. And if your doctor isn't talking to
[20:27] Speaker 2: you about that heart health, when when you go visit
[20:31] Speaker 2: the obgyn or your lipid particles and I mean the
[20:35] Speaker 2: advanced slipid testing, not just the basic stuff, and also
[20:39] Speaker 2: endothelial function, then you need to ask those questions and
[20:45] Speaker 2: stop selling for that average care. Average care is why
[20:49] Speaker 2: heart disease is still the number one killer of men
[20:52] Speaker 2: and women. So you're not average, and your health shouldn't
[20:56] Speaker 2: be either. So I don't want you to go anywhere,
[20:59] Speaker 2: because when we come back, we're going to shift gears
[21:01] Speaker 2: from the problem to a very specific, a very natural
[21:07] Speaker 2: solution that you might already have in your spice rack,
[21:11] Speaker 2: and we're talking about a common herb that new research
[21:14] Speaker 2: suggests might be a heavy hitter for balancing these PCOS
[21:18] Speaker 2: hormones and putting out that vascular fire. All right, folks,

[21:31] Speaker 2: head over to Doctor Bob and drop me a line.
[21:35] Speaker 2: And I want you to stay tuned because when we
[21:37] Speaker 2: come back after the break, we're going to get into
[21:39] Speaker 2: our health alternative of the week. You don't want to
[21:42] Speaker 2: miss what's coming next.
[22:00] Speaker 3: Anybody's got mistakes, but everybody's got a choice to make.
[22:06] Speaker 2: Everybody needs to leave the faith mony.
[22:09] Speaker 3: You taking you.
[22:12] Speaker 2: Money, you in. Welcome back to Health Talk America Presents
[22:29] Speaker 2: the Doctor Bob Martin Show. I'm your host, Doctor Adam Brockman,
[22:32] Speaker 2: and today we're diving deep into the mechanics of longevity.
[22:37] Speaker 2: And if you've been listening to the show for any
[22:39] Speaker 2: length of time, you know that we're just not gonna
[22:42] Speaker 2: look at the symptoms. We're gonna look at the systems.
[22:45] Speaker 2: Before we get into our health alternative of the week,
[22:48] Speaker 2: I want to talk about a battlefield you're carrying around
[22:51] Speaker 2: with you every single day, and it's right under your nose, literally,
[22:56] Speaker 2: and it's in your mouth. Let's be honest. Most of
[22:59] Speaker 2: us treat oral hygiene like a chore. We have to
[23:03] Speaker 2: do so our DNIS doesn't yell at us twice a year.
[23:07] Speaker 2: But your mouth is a gateway to your entire systemic health.
[23:12] Speaker 2: We're talking about a direct link to heart health and
[23:15] Speaker 2: brain health and inflammation levels throughout your entire body. Now,
[23:20] Speaker 2: most people reach for toothpastes that are filled with harsh
[23:23] Speaker 2: detergents and chemicals that sound like they belong in a
[23:27] Speaker 2: floor stripper. But there's a smarter way. I want to
[23:30] Speaker 2: talk to you about the spry dental defense system. The
[23:35] Speaker 2: secret weapon here is xylotol. Now don't let the name
[23:39] Speaker 2: intimidate you. It's a natural in It's found in many
[23:43] Speaker 2: fruits and vegetables. But for the bacteria in your mouth,
[23:47] Speaker 2: specifically the nasty Streptococcus mute tans, xylotol is like a
[23:52] Speaker 2: trojan horse. You see these bacteria, they love sugar, they
[23:57] Speaker 2: eat it, they produce acid and they create a biofilm
[24:01] Speaker 2: that the fuzzy feeling that is on your teeth that
[24:05] Speaker 2: allows them to stick to your enamel and cause tooth decay.
[24:08] Speaker 2: And when you spry, these bacteria try to eat the xylotol,
[24:13] Speaker 2: but they can't metabolize it. They essentially starve to death
[24:17] Speaker 2: while trying to have a snack. But here's the real kicker,
[24:21] Speaker 2: and that is non adherents. Xylotol actually changes the quality
[24:26] Speaker 2: of the bacteria so they can't stick to your teeth
[24:29] Speaker 2: or gums. It's like putting a shield on your pearly whites.
[24:33] Speaker 2: And to get the most out of this, I follow
[24:36] Speaker 2: a five exposures a day rule. It's not enough just
[24:40] Speaker 2: to brush in the morning. You want to keep xylotol
[24:43] Speaker 2: present in that oral environment. So I start with spry toothpaste,
[24:48] Speaker 2: and I start with spry oral rents in the morning.
[24:51] Speaker 2: Then throughout the day, after coffee or after lunch or
[24:55] Speaker 2: while I'm driving, I'm also popping spry gum or spry man.
[25:00] Speaker 2: It's a natural it's a non GMO way and it
[25:04] Speaker 2: helps balance your oral pH so that your your mouth
[25:08] Speaker 2: isn't a breeding ground for acidity. So stop treating your
[25:11] Speaker 2: mouth like a wastepin and start treating it like the
[25:14] Speaker 2: entrance to your temple, which is your body. You can
[25:17] Speaker 2: find the entire Spry system at CBS Target Natural Grossers Sprouts,
[25:25] Speaker 2: or your local health food store, or online at Clear
[25:28] Speaker 2: dot com and that's spelled x L e A r
[25:32] Speaker 2: dot com. It's from the makers of Clear nasal sprays
[25:36] Speaker 2: that are made with zyotol as well. So, folks, your heart,
[25:40] Speaker 2: your brain, and your dental hygienis will thank you by
[25:43] Speaker 2: using the Spry dental defense system. All right, let's go
[25:47] Speaker 2: ahead and shift to our health alternative of the week. Today,
[26:11] Speaker 2: we're gonna talk to the ladies, but guys, don't tune out,
[26:15] Speaker 2: because the women in your life need to hear this
[26:17] Speaker 2: as well. We've been discussing polycystic ovarian syndrome, or PCOS,
[26:23] Speaker 2: and it's this reality that nearly one in ten women
[26:26] Speaker 2: of childbearing age suffer from this. In our previous segment,
[26:31] Speaker 2: we talked about the alarming link between PCOS and heart disease,
[26:36] Speaker 2: and traditionally the medical model just throws birth control at
[26:40] Speaker 2: it and says good luck and let us know if
[26:43] Speaker 2: you when the time to get pregnantis and that's not
[26:47] Speaker 2: good enough. We want to find that root cause. And
[26:50] Speaker 2: sometimes the root cause finds a solution in the spice rack.
[26:55] Speaker 2: So enter our health alternative of the week, which is
[26:59] Speaker 2: majory and you probably know it as a cousin to aregano,
[27:04] Speaker 2: the herb that makes your Sunday night pizza smell amazing.
[27:08] Speaker 2: But new pre clinical research is showing that MAJORAM is
[27:13] Speaker 2: a powerhouse when it comes to hormonal modulation. And Majoram
[27:18] Speaker 2: is spelled mr jor am, So we're seeing this data
[27:25] Speaker 2: that suggests MAJORAM can significantly improve the hormonal profile of
[27:30] Speaker 2: women with PCOS, and we're talking about this helps to
[27:36] Speaker 2: lower the elevated testosterone levels and that's the stuff that
[27:40] Speaker 2: causes the hair loss and the acneum PCOS, and it
[27:45] Speaker 2: helps to balance progesterone and then it also helps to
[27:50] Speaker 2: regulate the FSH, which is follicle stimulated hormone. But it
[27:56] Speaker 2: doesn't stop at the blood work. The research showed that
[28:00] Speaker 2: joram actually helped with ovarian morphology, and that's a fancy
[28:05] Speaker 2: way of saying it helped to reduce the number of
[28:08] Speaker 2: cysts and restore the health of the ovarian tissue itself.
[28:12] Speaker 2: And you might ask how it's by lowering and smashing
[28:16] Speaker 2: the oxidative stress. It acts like a massive antioxidant shield
[28:21] Speaker 2: for the ovaries which are often under this state of
[28:25] Speaker 2: constant inflammatory fire in PCOS patients. So if you're struggling
[28:30] Speaker 2: with hormones and you're having this rollercoaster of PCOS, MAJORAM
[28:36] Speaker 2: again it's spelled m r JO r AM can be
[28:42] Speaker 2: a tool that you need to add into your kit.
[28:45] Speaker 2: So again that's MAJORAM. It's your health alternative of the week.
[28:49] Speaker 2: You can find it at places like natural grossers or
[28:53] Speaker 2: finer health food stores or maybe even in your spice rack. Currently,
[28:58] Speaker 2: all right, folks, it's time for break, but I don't
[29:00] Speaker 2: want you to go off too far Before we take
[29:04] Speaker 2: that pause. Here's your action plan. To follow us on

[33:16] Speaker 2: today's conversation with our health outrage of the week.
[33:22] Speaker 6: Geez, don't believed Easter for the health outreach because it's nothing, but.
[33:35] Speaker 2: It starts with a quiet afternoon, a child's curiosity in
[33:39] Speaker 2: a device found in ninety percent of American kitchens. You
[33:43] Speaker 2: think your home is a sanctuary, but right now a
[33:46] Speaker 2: viral hack is turning harmless stress relieving toys into a
[33:51] Speaker 2: household napalm. We aren't just talking about a minor oopsie
[33:57] Speaker 2: or a small blister. We're talking about a health outrage
[34:00] Speaker 2: that's sending children to the er with life altering third
[34:03] Speaker 2: degree burns in permanent facial scarring, all in the name
[34:08] Speaker 2: of a few seconds of satisfying video content. I want
[34:12] Speaker 2: you to welcome to the latest installment of our health
[34:15] Speaker 2: outrage of the week. I'm going to dive into a
[34:17] Speaker 2: trend that has doctors, parents and safety advocates absolutely reeling.
[34:22] Speaker 2: It's a molten toy crisis. And if you have children
[34:26] Speaker 2: or grandchildren with those squishy, gel filled sensory toys, you
[34:30] Speaker 2: need to stop what you're doing and listen closely. This
[34:33] Speaker 2: is a conversation you won't want to miss because it
[34:35] Speaker 2: involves a danger and defies common sense and exploits the
[34:40] Speaker 2: way our brains in our microwaves work. If you haven't
[34:44] Speaker 2: heard of Nidoh or similar silicone stress balls, they are
[34:50] Speaker 2: designed to be squished. They're pulled and manipulated to help
[34:53] Speaker 2: with focus and anxiety. But on TikTok, a trend has
[34:57] Speaker 2: emerged suggesting that if you microwave these toys for thirty
[35:00] Speaker 2: to sixty seconds, they become extra squishy warm and provide
[35:05] Speaker 2: a superior sensory experience. The truth is that these videos
[35:10] Speaker 2: have garnered millions of views, and they're often presented with
[35:14] Speaker 2: upbeat music and satisfying captions. But what the creators don't
[35:18] Speaker 2: show you is the physics of what happens inside that
[35:21] Speaker 2: silicone shell. It's a recipe for disaster that is one
[35:24] Speaker 2: hundred percent preventable, yet it continues to spread faster than
[35:28] Speaker 2: the flames it ignites. Here's what you should know. The
[35:33] Speaker 2: outer shell of these toys is typically made of silicone
[35:36] Speaker 2: or a similar synthetic rubber, and silicone is an incredible insulator.
[35:41] Speaker 2: And when you pop one of these toys in the microwave,
[35:44] Speaker 2: the waves they pass through the outer shell and begin
[35:48] Speaker 2: violently agitating the molecules of the gel or liquid inside.
[35:52] Speaker 2: And because the shell is an insulator, the outside of
[35:56] Speaker 2: the toy feels only slightly warm to touch when it
[36:00] Speaker 2: first comes out of that microwave. There lies the trap.
[36:02] Speaker 2: A child reaches in, touches the toy and thinks, oh,
[36:06] Speaker 2: this is fine, But inside, the internal temperature has skyride
[36:09] Speaker 2: to over two hundred degrees fahrenheit and the gel has
[36:13] Speaker 2: turned into a pressurized molten slurry, and when the child
[36:17] Speaker 2: gives it that first satisfying squeeze, the integrity of the
[36:21] Speaker 2: heated silicone fails and the toy explodes. And because of
[36:25] Speaker 2: that pressure, this molten gel doesn't just drip, its sprays.
[36:29] Speaker 2: It sticks to the skin like lava, and it continues
[36:32] Speaker 2: to burn through this dermis and the epidermis long after
[36:35] Speaker 2: that initial contact. And doctors at Loyola Burn Center have
[36:39] Speaker 2: reported that this gel is particularly insidious because it's designed
[36:44] Speaker 2: this way and it adheres to the face and the hands,
[36:47] Speaker 2: and it makes it impossible to wipe without taking skin
[36:50] Speaker 2: with it. And we have to ask ourselves, how does
[36:53] Speaker 2: a platform like TikTok allow this content effective effectively teaching
[36:59] Speaker 2: the children how to make a homemade bomb. We're seeing
[37:02] Speaker 2: a huge increase in trend related household injuries among adolescents,
[37:06] Speaker 2: Yet these algorithms, they continue to feed these hacks to
[37:10] Speaker 2: impressionable minds. Meanwhile, take a nine year old in Illinois.
[37:14] Speaker 2: A lifetime of skin grafts and trauma is in front
[37:18] Speaker 2: of him because he thought he was just making his
[37:21] Speaker 2: toy better. This isn't just a lapse in parenting. It's
[37:25] Speaker 2: a failure of our digital gatekeeping, we are essentially letting
[37:30] Speaker 2: a digital stranger enter our homes to dare our children
[37:33] Speaker 2: to play with fire. And I often talk about this
[37:38] Speaker 2: biological stress. Nothing creates biological stress like a major burn.
[37:43] Speaker 2: A third degree burn triggers a massive inflammatory cascade throughout
[37:47] Speaker 2: the entire body, at taxes that immune system. It puts
[37:50] Speaker 2: the kidneys under stress as they try to process the
[37:52] Speaker 2: breakdown of damaged tissue, and it leaves our body vulnerable
[37:56] Speaker 2: to infection for months. So, folks, it's easy to feel
[38:00] Speaker 2: overwhelmed by the sheer volume of crazy coming off the internet,
[38:03] Speaker 2: but you're not powerless. By staying informed and question the
[38:06] Speaker 2: science behind these viral trends, you are taking control of
[38:10] Speaker 2: your family's health. And we've seen it time and time
[38:13] Speaker 2: again that the real truth is often buried under the
[38:17] Speaker 2: pile of likes in shares. So don't let your household
[38:20] Speaker 2: be the next statistics. And if you've seen a trend
[38:25] Speaker 2: that has worried you, or if you want to share
[38:27] Speaker 2: your own health outrage, just reach out to us by
[38:29] Speaker 2: our eight hundred number eight hundred six or oh six
[38:32] Speaker 2: eight A two to two, or by asking us a
[38:34] Speaker 2: question through our website at doctor Bob dot com. All right, folks,
[38:38] Speaker 2: stay safe, and for Heaven's sake, keep the toys out
[38:41] Speaker 2: of the microwave. We'll be right back on the Doctor
[38:43] Speaker 2: Bob Martin Show.

[40:19] Speaker 2: Welcome back. You're listening to the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
[40:22] Speaker 2: I'm doctor Adam Brockman, and as we're wrapping up this
[40:25] Speaker 2: hour of the show, I want to leave you with
[40:28] Speaker 2: a health mystery of the week. Imagine, if you will,
[40:37] Speaker 2: the pristine Australian wilderness. You're forging for greens, in this case,
[40:43] Speaker 2: a native succulent that's becoming a darling of the farm
[40:47] Speaker 2: to table movement. You're doing everything right. You're getting outside,
[40:50] Speaker 2: you're sourcing organic nutrients, and you're avoiding the processed junk
[40:54] Speaker 2: that clutters the aisles of many grocery stores. And you
[40:58] Speaker 2: feel like this picture of health. Then the shadows begin
[41:01] Speaker 2: to creep in. It starts with a persistent, nagging cough.
[41:05] Speaker 2: Then come the night sweats that soak through your sheets,
[41:08] Speaker 2: so your memory slips in. A heavy, inexplainable depression settles
[41:12] Speaker 2: over your mind like a thick coastal fog. You visit
[41:15] Speaker 2: doctor to doctor. You're searching for an answer to a
[41:19] Speaker 2: riddle that seems to have no solution. This was the
[41:22] Speaker 2: heroine reality for a sixty four year old woman in Australia.
[41:25] Speaker 2: For over a year, she was a medical enigma. She
[41:29] Speaker 2: was a mysterious patient whose symptoms defied every standard diagnostic
[41:35] Speaker 2: test in the book. It wasn't until a neurosurgeon peered
[41:38] Speaker 2: into the structures of a brain that the shocking truth
[41:41] Speaker 2: was pulled into the light. Literally. When the medical team
[41:45] Speaker 2: at Canberra Hospital decided to perform a brain biopsy to
[41:48] Speaker 2: investigate a strange lesion in the patient's right frontal lobe,
[41:52] Speaker 2: they expect to find a tumor or an abcess, or
[41:55] Speaker 2: perhaps a rare fungal infection. What they found instead will
[41:59] Speaker 2: make your skin crawl in your pulse quicken. As this
[42:02] Speaker 2: neurosurgeon explored to tissue, she spotted something that didn't belong
[42:06] Speaker 2: in a human brain. It wasn't a growth, it was movement.
[42:10] Speaker 2: Using four steps, she pulled out a live, three inch long,
[42:13] Speaker 2: bright red worm. It was wiggling, it was healthy, and
[42:17] Speaker 2: it had made a home inside this woman's mind for months.
[42:21] Speaker 2: This was a roundworm, typically found in the digestive tracts
[42:25] Speaker 2: of carpet pythons. This wasn't just a medical anomaly, it
[42:29] Speaker 2: was a global first. Never before in the history of
[42:32] Speaker 2: medicine had this specific parasite been found inhabiting a human being,
[42:37] Speaker 2: let alone a human brain. Now, how does a snake
[42:40] Speaker 2: parasite end up in the frontal lobe of a human
[42:43] Speaker 2: The answer lies in our desire to return to nature
[42:46] Speaker 2: and our occasional forgivenness about how raw and unforgiving nature
[42:50] Speaker 2: can be. The patient lived near a lake inhabited by
[42:53] Speaker 2: carpet pythons. While she didn't have direct contact with the snakes,
[42:57] Speaker 2: she frequently collected war agall greens from the surrounding area
[43:02] Speaker 2: to using her cooking and scientists believe that the python
[43:05] Speaker 2: must have shed parasite eggs through feces into grass, and
[43:09] Speaker 2: when the patient harvested the greens, she likely inadvertently touched
[43:13] Speaker 2: the contaminated plants or she failed to wash them thoroughly
[43:16] Speaker 2: enough to remove the microscopic eggs, and then, once ingested,
[43:21] Speaker 2: the eggs hatched and the larvae began this mission throughout
[43:24] Speaker 2: her body. In the natural hosts like snakes and small mammals,
[43:28] Speaker 2: this larvae migrates through various organs. In this tragic first
[43:33] Speaker 2: and human case, the larvae took a wrong turn and
[43:36] Speaker 2: ended up crossing the blood brain barrier. So as you
[43:40] Speaker 2: head into your week, keep your eyes open, your greens washed,
[43:43] Speaker 2: and your heart full. Take control of your own wellbeing,
[43:46] Speaker 2: protect your family, and never settle for good enough when
[43:49] Speaker 2: it comes to your health. This is doctor Adam Brockman
