[2:51] Speaker 4: him immediately.
[2:52] Speaker 3: Yeah, why he wouldn't say.
[2:54] Speaker 4: What he did say though, just before he hung up,

[4:57] Speaker 3: at breakfast seven thirty sharp? Oh okay, but now, just
[5:02] Speaker 3: what did you mean about nothing will happen? I'll tell
[5:04] Speaker 3: you about it in the morning. Well, now wait a minute, look,
[5:09] Speaker 3: you're the bus while Why didn't I call him back

[5:24] Speaker 3: to see thee But I guess I was tired after
[5:27] Speaker 3: the long drive, and he seemed to think the morning
[5:29] Speaker 3: was timing up. So I hit the sack early in
[5:33] Speaker 3: the morning. Some coffee sent up to my room, and
[5:35] Speaker 3: then the hotel said, okay to nine dollars even that
[5:37] Speaker 3: side him three and by twenty five minutes after seven,
[5:40] Speaker 3: I swung onto the long winding drive that led up
[5:42] Speaker 3: to the front of the Edwards mansion. It was in
[5:44] Speaker 3: a wealthy residential section a couple of miles north as
[5:47] Speaker 3: the city Propper, and sat in the middle of what
[5:49] Speaker 3: must have been a full acre of beautiful trees and gardens.
[5:52] Speaker 3: As I approached the house, I noticed the car parked
[5:55] Speaker 3: out fox of sweet new Little woodcot. The door was open,
[5:59] Speaker 3: and I've been looking and got out of it and it
[6:01] Speaker 3: was just about to climb in. As I pulled up
[6:04] Speaker 3: to a stop, she stood there looking at me questioningly.
[6:14] Speaker 3: This is the Edwards Paul, Isn't.
[6:17] Speaker 5: That's why you want to see somebody?
[6:18] Speaker 3: Why? Yes, As a matter of fact, mister Edwards sent
[6:21] Speaker 3: for me.
[6:22] Speaker 2: Oh really, are you an old friend of here?
[6:24] Speaker 3: Oh? I didn't know it, Shure, That isn't what I mean.
[6:28] Speaker 6: My name is Johnny d John insurance detective or investigator
[6:33] Speaker 6: or whatever you call it something like that.
[6:35] Speaker 7: Hi, I'm Marilyn Edwards.
[6:37] Speaker 8: Well, Hi, I said, guess he'd sent to someone like you, Johnny,
[6:41] Speaker 8: Come on in.
[6:42] Speaker 3: Why uh why do you say that?
[6:45] Speaker 4: Man?
[6:46] Speaker 6: Well, Daddy seemed to be worried about something lately.
[6:49] Speaker 8: You know what no, at least I'm not sure. That's
[6:53] Speaker 8: why I thought i'd stopped by this morning before.
[6:55] Speaker 3: Going to work. Oh I thought you were just leaving.
[6:59] Speaker 7: No, I just got here just before you arrive.
[7:02] Speaker 3: What do you do for a living?
[7:04] Speaker 8: Don't laugh, I'm a model. A Stop raising your eyebrows.
[7:09] Speaker 8: After all, somebody must suppose for those dads for this.
[7:13] Speaker 8: And so we go in and see Daddy, that is,
[7:15] Speaker 8: if he's up.
[7:17] Speaker 3: I have a breakfast day with him at seven point thirty,
[7:20] Speaker 3: and it's not exactly seven thirty one. Can we better
[7:23] Speaker 3: go in?
[7:31] Speaker 7: Hi, Daddy, Daddy, Durkin.
[7:40] Speaker 5: Dourcin Hi here, I'm here you your foster father hasn't come.
[7:47] Speaker 3: Down yet, Donnie.
[7:48] Speaker 6: This is Durkin Daddy talking at his breakfast prompt at
[7:51] Speaker 6: seven thirty, and I ring with Donny, don't come down
[7:53] Speaker 6: for it?
[7:58] Speaker 9: Stop it.
[8:01] Speaker 3: There now.
[8:01] Speaker 6: That's the third time, third.
[8:04] Speaker 8: Time, Daddy, not punch. I think I better go up
[8:08] Speaker 8: and see.
[8:08] Speaker 3: I'll go with you.
[8:10] Speaker 5: A line clock go off three plays of an hour
[8:12] Speaker 5: ago to.
[8:25] Speaker 2: Daddy.
[8:29] Speaker 3: Wait another night?
[8:30] Speaker 8: What is it, Johnny?
[8:32] Speaker 3: But I caught up with a cord, I.
[8:36] Speaker 2: Guess, daddy, Johnny, Johnny?
[8:47] Speaker 3: Oh no, great, so Marylyn. He said, together with Marilyn
[9:09] Speaker 3: Edwards and not his daughter of John wake here, that
[9:11] Speaker 3: I found his body in his bedroom points over, no
[9:15] Speaker 3: sign of any wound, no evidents of foul play, without
[9:18] Speaker 3: touching nobody. I found the Albany Police Fomicide Division and
[9:21] Speaker 3: with a minute judged Christie arrive with doctor Walden Lincoln
[9:24] Speaker 3: and sold the doctor. Examination was brief and very thorough,
[9:27] Speaker 3: including settle on the spot. Tests were poisons of any kind.
[9:33] Speaker 3: How who in.
[9:34] Speaker 6: Theory was with I didn't doctor. He was sixty eight
[9:40] Speaker 6: or nine, I.
[9:40] Speaker 3: Think, And he hasn't been sick, not that I know
[9:44] Speaker 3: of Dick and the hospital and would know better than I.
[9:47] Speaker 5: Hasn't had a day of sickness since he caught that.
[9:49] Speaker 3: Cold last spring. Well, his pump gave out, that's all.
[9:54] Speaker 3: Don't expect that in the man his age. Yeah, I
[9:58] Speaker 3: know you're O. You didn't find anything, did you, Chris not?
[10:03] Speaker 3: I think God why they bothered to call us in
[10:06] Speaker 3: instead of his own doctor purse. If new folks want,
[10:10] Speaker 3: I can order an audition.
[10:12] Speaker 2: Oh no, no, that would be.
[10:14] Speaker 3: Terrible and down it goes to the natural causes. I'm
[10:20] Speaker 3: dead approximately seven fifteen, doctor, and I expect you can
[10:28] Speaker 3: carry on from here, cantamish.
[10:30] Speaker 6: I'll take casting Anne.
[10:32] Speaker 5: If he can't, I will again. And with closing these wizards, well.
[10:40] Speaker 3: Come on target back to the Morgue. Oh the morg.
[10:53] Speaker 5: Well, if you want some breakfast. I ain't gonna do
[10:56] Speaker 5: him any good now can help?
[11:01] Speaker 8: But I suppose we're may as well, Johnny, and do
[11:03] Speaker 8: whatever we have to do here.
[11:10] Speaker 3: There was something mighty wrong here, yet I couldn't put
[11:12] Speaker 3: my finger on him. Had I really caught the smell
[11:15] Speaker 3: of Cordie before we entered that room? It was too
[11:18] Speaker 3: late to tell now, even when the windows closed, those
[11:21] Speaker 3: windows the cold morning. Had he left them open while
[11:25] Speaker 3: he dressed Marilyn, heir to his big insurance poot? Had
[11:32] Speaker 3: she really just arrived when I got there? If the
[11:36] Speaker 3: housekeeper Durkin had been in the kitchen making breakfast, it
[11:40] Speaker 3: would have been easy for someone to sneak in. But
[11:43] Speaker 3: who and why? And what about Durkins?
[11:47] Speaker 10: I'll wait a minute.
[11:48] Speaker 3: The police medic said, death to the natural causes, no happen,
[11:52] Speaker 3: no wounds of any kind, So that's fast. The undertaker
[11:57] Speaker 3: must have been hungry for business, because he got there
[12:00] Speaker 3: before noon and took the body away meantime. Of course,
[12:03] Speaker 3: I'd questioned both Durkin and Maryland pretty early.
[12:06] Speaker 8: Emmy, Oh no, Sonny, Daddy doesn't have.
[12:12] Speaker 3: Nny.
[12:12] Speaker 2: You keep talking as though you think he might have
[12:14] Speaker 2: been murdered.
[12:16] Speaker 3: Does anyone beside you benefit from his death?
[12:18] Speaker 7: Marylin, that's a horrid thing to say, I do.
[12:22] Speaker 2: What are you doing snooping around this way?
[12:25] Speaker 5: As much high affair as yours? Now that miss Edwards
[12:27] Speaker 5: is gone.
[12:28] Speaker 3: What do you mean by that?
[12:29] Speaker 6: Kin mean the money he left me in his will
[12:31] Speaker 6: and the co disciline as will it says Maryn's got
[12:34] Speaker 6: to share the insurance with me if she collected.
[12:38] Speaker 3: What do you mean by that?
[12:40] Speaker 6: Everybody knows her and her father, her foster father, anything
[12:44] Speaker 6: getting along too good, every since she decided to get
[12:47] Speaker 6: out and learn her own living, or tried to.
[12:49] Speaker 5: I've been getting along all life here, sure, and.
[12:52] Speaker 6: All the attention you've been giving your dear.
[12:54] Speaker 5: Daddy these last couple of years.
[12:57] Speaker 6: By today's the first time you've been in this house.
[12:59] Speaker 2: And that doesn't mean that do you and I haven't
[13:02] Speaker 2: there's something you wished to be left alone?
[13:11] Speaker 3: Sorry, Johnny Marlin. I want to go up and look
[13:14] Speaker 3: at your fathers again.
[13:16] Speaker 8: All right, if you like, I'll go along.
[13:19] Speaker 3: Thanks, I'd rather do it alone. Oh why did I
[13:27] Speaker 3: find nothing? Sure, there were a couple of old bottles
[13:31] Speaker 3: of hair tonic in a way under some shirts. But
[13:34] Speaker 3: after all, I mean at his age. And that's funny
[13:38] Speaker 3: little thing on the dressing table. It was a little
[13:41] Speaker 3: well half stand. I guess you'd call it the kids
[13:43] Speaker 3: you find in a woman's hatch up, you know, a
[13:45] Speaker 3: little wooden stand about eight or ten inches high. Johnny, Look,
[13:49] Speaker 3: huh did you get that?
[13:52] Speaker 8: After what you said downstairs? I guess I began the one.
[13:56] Speaker 8: So I looked around outside, you know, for footprints.
[13:59] Speaker 3: I don't know what I was looking for it, and
[14:00] Speaker 3: you found his handgun. It was in the middle of
[14:02] Speaker 3: a myrtle bush.
[14:03] Speaker 8: It was Donny's done. And see one son has been tired.
[14:09] Speaker 3: Yeah, I also see you carefully put your fingerprints all
[14:13] Speaker 3: over it. Oh fine, now my prints are all over it.
[14:20] Speaker 3: So if it was used to what am I talking about?
[14:26] Speaker 3: If it had been a shot trick and would have
[14:28] Speaker 3: heard it. What's more, there would have been a bullet wound.
[14:31] Speaker 3: And there was no sign of anything.
[14:32] Speaker 4: In the.
[14:34] Speaker 3: Wait a minute, Maryland, maybe there was. It was six
[14:46] Speaker 3: uals now act free if you're truly doney dollar, I'm
[14:53] Speaker 3: the hair raising letter. My hunt was right. I was
[15:00] Speaker 3: sure of it now. I told miss taking and Maryland
[15:03] Speaker 3: to stay there at the house and wait for me,
[15:05] Speaker 3: then jumped into my car and drove into Albany to
[15:07] Speaker 3: the undertaker.
[15:15] Speaker 11: Here we are stellar. The embalming room is right here.
[15:22] Speaker 3: I'm not confess we.
[15:23] Speaker 11: Haven't had the opportunity to prepare mister Edward's body. Good
[15:29] Speaker 11: sez he's not a rushed all day. Yeah, I'm sure
[15:34] Speaker 11: worthy result.
[15:40] Speaker 3: Yeah? Was he a relative of room? No? No, are
[15:49] Speaker 3: you doing but trying to make sure that a crazy
[15:53] Speaker 3: hunter had looking? How are you trying to pull his
[15:57] Speaker 3: hair off? No? Off? Well, I think if now look here,
[16:02] Speaker 3: young man, Look you see what's what I'm trying to
[16:07] Speaker 3: do here? What? Yes, cold heaven, I can't believe it.
[16:14] Speaker 11: He would never know.
[16:16] Speaker 3: I don't think anybody would have done. But it's a
[16:18] Speaker 3: hair piece, all right, that's big enough to cover a
[16:21] Speaker 3: small ball, but it matches the rest of his hair.
[16:25] Speaker 3: So he got some kind of a solvent. I don't
[16:28] Speaker 3: want to have to rip it off.
[16:29] Speaker 11: But yes, I think we had to be.
[16:35] Speaker 7: Sure.
[16:36] Speaker 3: Those old bottles of hair tonics, probably hadn't used them
[16:39] Speaker 3: in years. But evert wooden't stand sure. He parked his
[16:44] Speaker 3: wing on it, and probably nobody knew who he wore
[16:48] Speaker 3: except himself and somebody very close to him.
[16:52] Speaker 11: Here, mister dollars, this will move to pay without day. Yeah,
[17:00] Speaker 11: I don't understand where.
[17:02] Speaker 10: You want to take it though, Oh god, yeah, right
[17:11] Speaker 10: in the middle of his boss, but covered up by
[17:13] Speaker 10: the hair feet and the bullet admitted was a thirty
[17:17] Speaker 10: eight specially and you said you didn't get here this
[17:27] Speaker 10: morning until I did.
[17:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, Johnny, you're sure? Yes, Johnny went into his room again.
[17:34] Speaker 3: Where's the kitchen? Idea?
[17:38] Speaker 2: John You have a funny look.
[17:39] Speaker 3: I mean, come on, I'll tell you this much. Your
[17:43] Speaker 3: father was murdered, all right, as sure as that? Yes,
[17:47] Speaker 3: you said, I am, ah, what's here here on the
[17:51] Speaker 3: dressing table?
[17:53] Speaker 4: You know what this is?
[17:55] Speaker 7: Of course?
[17:56] Speaker 3: It's a little hatstand.
[17:57] Speaker 8: I used when I was here.
[17:58] Speaker 3: What's it doing here?
[18:00] Speaker 8: No, Fanny, I never really noticed it before.
[18:03] Speaker 3: How long did daddy wear to pay Marylynd what to
[18:07] Speaker 3: pay a hair piece?
[18:08] Speaker 7: Oh?
[18:09] Speaker 8: Never?
[18:09] Speaker 2: He was always very proud of the care.
[18:12] Speaker 3: You're sure about that?
[18:13] Speaker 4: Quick?
[18:13] Speaker 8: I am for a long time he always used to
[18:16] Speaker 8: smell of hair tonic when he came down stairs.
[18:18] Speaker 3: What was going to happen?
[18:19] Speaker 4: You're wrong?
[18:20] Speaker 3: What a small, very well made hairpiece covered the ball
[18:23] Speaker 3: spot where he was shot this morning with this thirty
[18:26] Speaker 3: eighth you say you found outside?
[18:28] Speaker 5: I did honestly, all right, all.
[18:34] Speaker 3: Right, I believe you in spite of the way you
[18:36] Speaker 3: covered up any fingerprints that may.
[18:38] Speaker 7: Have been honest You did too, Johnny.
[18:40] Speaker 3: Yeah, Now listen, that leaves only one person who could
[18:44] Speaker 3: have one about the hairpiece have killed him and then
[18:45] Speaker 3: covered up the bullet worm with it. I knew i'd
[18:48] Speaker 3: smell burn Gunpotter when we first came up here. Think yeah, yeah,
[18:53] Speaker 3: but I prove it. I've got to try ah bluff. Yeah,
[18:57] Speaker 3: it seems like a bluffer. I don't believe it.
[19:02] Speaker 5: Yet with him dead, you'd have money.
[19:04] Speaker 3: More money.
[19:09] Speaker 4: Well, Dric, So you're back, are you then?
[19:11] Speaker 3: Anyway? Checking up on something something I should have suspected
[19:17] Speaker 3: last night when I talked to mister Edward's on the phone.
[19:19] Speaker 3: What do you mean line clicks that meant somebody was
[19:23] Speaker 3: listening in on the phone downstairs. Don't look at me.
[19:26] Speaker 5: I didn't even know you called him last night?
[19:28] Speaker 3: I wasn't dead asleep. Were you drinking? But I was
[19:32] Speaker 3: just checking on at police headquarters. The police headquare was
[19:36] Speaker 3: a set of fingerprints I found on a glass you'd
[19:39] Speaker 3: been using in the kitchen. I wanted to compare them
[19:42] Speaker 3: with some prince I found on this gun.
[19:44] Speaker 5: That's mister Edward's gun.
[19:46] Speaker 3: When you used to kill it.
[19:49] Speaker 2: That's a lie.
[19:50] Speaker 5: I wasped him off and.
[19:51] Speaker 3: Threw it out the window, then over the other windows
[19:53] Speaker 3: to let the smell of powder up.
[19:55] Speaker 5: Yes, I wasped them off.
[19:56] Speaker 7: At Lisa, I I thought, I, okay, let's go.
[20:09] Speaker 3: Don't worry. There'll be no part of the insurance or
[20:18] Speaker 3: any other money for circuits. Of course, we'll take care
[20:21] Speaker 3: of that, and probably with Benny from Maryland. Well, you
[20:26] Speaker 3: know something, here's again I think i'd like to see again.
[20:30] Speaker 3: And I don't mean because of her fortunes. Expense accounts total,
[20:34] Speaker 3: including all the mileage on my car forty seven fifty
[20:38] Speaker 3: yours to lean Anny dollars. Our Star will return in
[20:56] Speaker 3: just a moment. Now here's our Stars tell you about
[21:03] Speaker 3: next week's story. Next week, a little jade statue is
[21:07] Speaker 3: the key to one of the cleverest spots I've ever
[21:09] Speaker 3: seen join us? Won't you yours truly? Johnny Dolls? Yours
[21:35] Speaker 3: Truly Johnny Dollars starring Bob Bailey, originates in Hollywood and
[21:40] Speaker 3: has written, produced and directed by Jack john Star. Heard
[21:44] Speaker 3: in our cast were Virginia, Greg Shirley Mitchell, Jack Edwards,
[21:48] Speaker 3: Ralph Moody, Junior Matthews and Parley Bear. These should have
[21:52] Speaker 3: joined us next week, same time and station, or another
[21:56] Speaker 3: exciting story of yours truly, Johnny Dollar, mister.
[22:13] Speaker 1: Welcome back. Well, this is a solution that really does
[22:18] Speaker 1: brain credulity and really to the breaking point, the murder
[22:24] Speaker 1: depends on just a ridiculous amount of things believable. Really,
[22:31] Speaker 1: if somehow she was able to liver the shock close
[22:34] Speaker 1: enough that there was a minimal splatter that had to
[22:37] Speaker 1: be cleaned up, but having the crime happened at seven
[22:41] Speaker 1: point fifteen meant that she had fifteen minutes to clean
[22:47] Speaker 1: up the scene and get breakfast started and ready to
[22:52] Speaker 1: be on the table. Though that no one would suspect
[22:56] Speaker 1: what she'd done, And really the whole thing falls apart
[23:00] Speaker 1: if a real thorough medical examination is done. The fact
[23:05] Speaker 1: that she came up with the plan that she concocted
[23:10] Speaker 1: this very cold blooded, very calculated plan and then delivered
[23:17] Speaker 1: precision execution on the crime. And then Clumbusile incriminates herself
[23:24] Speaker 1: not once, but multiple times. So this was a below
[23:29] Speaker 1: average installment, which, given the fact that we have so
[23:33] Speaker 1: few episodes from this era in circulation, is a bit disappointing.
[23:39] Speaker 1: All right, Well, listen her comments and feedback now, and
[23:42] Speaker 1: we have of comments on YouTube regarding the Johnson payroll matter.
[23:49] Speaker 1: First off, we start with Allen, who says, well written story.
[23:53] Speaker 1: It had me guessing, And James said, I thought I
[23:57] Speaker 1: had heard all of the Bob Bailey episodes, but I've
[24:00] Speaker 1: never heard this one. I'm happy to help the algorithm
[24:04] Speaker 1: by hitting that hot button. Well, thank you so much.
[24:07] Speaker 1: I appreciate everybody who does what they can to help.
[24:13] Speaker 1: I have tried to use the hot button on other
[24:16] Speaker 1: videos and I can't seem to locate it, but thanks
[24:20] Speaker 1: so much for those who can find it. The idea
[24:24] Speaker 1: of having you have heard all of the Johnny dollars
[24:30] Speaker 1: it has actually been a situation where the number of
[24:34] Speaker 1: circulating episodes has been evolving over the years. It hasn't
[24:39] Speaker 1: changed all at once, but it was interesting. I was
[24:44] Speaker 1: listening to an interview that John Dunning did with Bob
[24:48] Speaker 1: Bailey's daughter a few years back, and it struck me
[24:52] Speaker 1: when he talked about the Johnny Dollar cereals. He said, wait, yeah,
[24:57] Speaker 1: I've got about forty of those. I think he said
[25:02] Speaker 1: something like yeah, and I got about thirty forty of
[25:05] Speaker 1: the half hour episodes. And now, of course we are
[25:10] Speaker 1: up to more than one hundred and seventy of the
[25:14] Speaker 1: half hour episodes, and all the cereals are around, although
[25:19] Speaker 1: there are four which have a single episode missing. But
[25:23] Speaker 1: there have been a steady trickle over the years of
[25:27] Speaker 1: more Johnny Dollar episodes, which gives me hope. Obviously, just
[25:32] Speaker 1: a few months ago we played one that I'd never
[25:35] Speaker 1: heard before, and I've heard five new ones come into
[25:39] Speaker 1: circulation just in the time that I've been doing this podcast,
[25:44] Speaker 1: and I'm so glad that I was around to hear
[25:47] Speaker 1: Johnny Dollar using the plan of dropping explosives onto a
[25:54] Speaker 1: glacier from a small plane. It gives me hope that
[25:57] Speaker 1: someday I will get to hear the episode where Jack
[26:01] Speaker 1: Johnstone actually wrote a self insertion story, but alas not
[26:07] Speaker 1: quite yet. All right, well, now it is time to
[26:11] Speaker 1: thank our Patreon supporter of the day, and I do
[26:16] Speaker 1: want to go ahead and thank sean Patreon supporter since

[26:57] Speaker 1: with Counterspy where I hate you are there, Counciler.
[27:01] Speaker 9: They have crossed the border between Mexico and the United States.
[27:05] Speaker 1: No is it not against the law.
[27:08] Speaker 9: Or I am sure no one will have Jake. But
[27:10] Speaker 9: they have such a distinguished gentleman of the Mexican government.
[27:14] Speaker 1: What is the meaning of this?
[27:16] Speaker 9: No, you know the health worker, Yes, Hans Tire s
[27:19] Speaker 9: feaquent i tire his hands.
[27:21] Speaker 1: Who are you, you said, Gestapo, if.
[27:24] Speaker 4: You would like me now, why.
[27:26] Speaker 1: Are you kidnapping me?
[27:28] Speaker 9: They are going to open the doors a plane and
[27:30] Speaker 9: you are going to fall out.
[27:32] Speaker 6: No, you cannot.

[27:36] Speaker 9: delicate international situation should result.
[27:38] Speaker 1: You are a four.
[27:40] Speaker 3: All my bones will be broken.
[27:41] Speaker 4: They will they will know I was thrown from an air.
[27:43] Speaker 1: I guess that was not so stupid.
[27:46] Speaker 9: They will fly very low, so you will not be
[27:48] Speaker 9: kid but your body will not be mangled either.
[27:52] Speaker 3: As low as a cat.
[27:58] Speaker 9: Certain Mexico the United States to belong to Germany, and
[28:01] Speaker 9: you will be glad that you're dead. You weak, nah nah,
