[0:00] Speaker 1: We understand.
[0:05] Speaker 2: The thinking atheist. It's not a person, it's a symbol,
[0:09] Speaker 2: an idea.
[0:10] Speaker 3: The population of atheists this country is going through the.
[0:13] Speaker 2: Rule, rejecting faith, pursuing knowledge, challenging the sacred. If I
[0:19] Speaker 2: tell the truth, it's because I tell the truth, not because.
[0:22] Speaker 1: I put my hand on a book and made a.
[0:24] Speaker 2: Wish and working together for a more rational world.
[0:29] Speaker 3: Take the risk of thinking. Feel so much more happiness. Truth,
[0:32] Speaker 3: Usian wisdom will come to you that way.
[0:35] Speaker 2: Assume nothing, question everything, and start thinking. This is the
[0:43] Speaker 2: Thinking Atheist podcast hosted by Seth Andrews.
[0:56] Speaker 3: Just returned from a wonderful event in Orlando, the Florida
[1:01] Speaker 3: Freethought Conference, getting ready to get back on a plane
[1:05] Speaker 3: to go and officiate a wedding in San Antonio and
[1:09] Speaker 3: then travel coming up in the month of April for
[1:12] Speaker 3: the American Atheist Conference and some other ones on the horizon.
[1:15] Speaker 3: Details on all the major events that are coming up
[1:19] Speaker 3: are at the Thinkingatheist dot com slash events. My flight delayed,
[1:25] Speaker 3: big weather out East, tornadoes and the whole thing, so
[1:29] Speaker 3: everybody got delayed and I ended up sort of sitting
[1:33] Speaker 3: alone in forlorn in a holiday inn express wishing I
[1:37] Speaker 3: was home with Natalie and the dogs scrolling hotel television,
[1:41] Speaker 3: which is terrifying. By the way, when I was in Orlando,
[1:45] Speaker 3: I was scrolling and I am not kidding. Televangelist and
[1:50] Speaker 3: quote unquote faith healer Peter pop Off was on one
[1:56] Speaker 3: of the channels. Guys, gotta be freaking seventy five eighty
[2:01] Speaker 3: years old, and he is hawking these tiny little packets
[2:06] Speaker 3: of water. This is miracle spring water. Oh, send me
[2:11] Speaker 3: your your love offering, send me your support, and I
[2:15] Speaker 3: will mail you miracle springwater. Now, I don't know exactly
[2:19] Speaker 3: what it's supposed to do. Do you smear it on yourself?
[2:22] Speaker 3: Do you pour it into your shampoo? You know? What
[2:27] Speaker 3: is it? What are the natures of the miracles? I
[2:29] Speaker 3: do not know. He was debunked decades ago by the
[2:34] Speaker 3: great skeptic James Randy, Peter Popoff doing a healing service,
[2:39] Speaker 3: a whole series of these, making millions of dollars. James
[2:42] Speaker 3: Randy and like a radio expert, went and they took
[2:46] Speaker 3: equipment scanning frequencies, and Peter Popoff was using an ear
[2:50] Speaker 3: piece and his wife was off stage reading prayer cards,
[2:55] Speaker 3: and so he'd be like Susan's in the audience. Susan,
[2:59] Speaker 3: Susan has a injury. Susan, are you here? God is
[3:02] Speaker 3: telling me there's a Susan now with us, you know,
[3:05] Speaker 3: And Susan stands up. Yes, Peter Poppa, I don't and
[3:11] Speaker 3: he brings her on stage and you know, it's all theater,
[3:15] Speaker 3: and then he got busted. Well, somehow, even when these
[3:18] Speaker 3: people are busted, they still continue to make millions of dollars.
[3:24] Speaker 3: The sheep will line up and they send in their
[3:26] Speaker 3: Social Security checks and they go and attend the rallies.
[3:29] Speaker 3: This guy is still on TV decades later saying, Oh,
[3:33] Speaker 3: if you give me five hundred dollars right now, I
[3:37] Speaker 3: will send you a little packet of water. You know,
[3:40] Speaker 3: somebody's in the back room sitting at the tap filling
[3:45] Speaker 3: up little things of plastic seal shut you know, or
[3:49] Speaker 3: maybe he's got machines to do it in mass I
[3:51] Speaker 3: don't know how many people are mailing in their checks.
[3:55] Speaker 3: What about auto draft? Is he doing that shit? Put
[3:59] Speaker 3: us on auto so your monthly gift comes out, well,
[4:02] Speaker 3: you don't even have to think about it. And you
[4:04] Speaker 3: know there are people who have not a cent to
[4:06] Speaker 3: their name. We're giving money they don't have because they
[4:09] Speaker 3: are casting their bread upon the water, and they believe
[4:12] Speaker 3: that they will be blessed, if not in this life,
[4:16] Speaker 3: in the next. What a great scam that is. Well,
[4:19] Speaker 3: I guarantee God's blessing. You might be dead when it happens,
[4:23] Speaker 3: but all your mansion's going to be bigger, and your
[4:26] Speaker 3: crown's going to be swankier, and you'll have more diamonds
[4:29] Speaker 3: in it. And why the hell do we care about
[4:31] Speaker 3: diamonds and crowns and material mansions and shit in a
[4:36] Speaker 3: place when it's not supposed to matter at all. Someone
[4:40] Speaker 3: explain this to me. I'm sorry, God says, sell all
[4:44] Speaker 3: your shit, give it to the poor, and follow me.
[4:46] Speaker 3: And now my reward is a mansion and gold crown
[4:51] Speaker 3: and streets of gold and pearly gates. These are all
[4:53] Speaker 3: monetary things. It's just so bizarre. Anyway, I'm stuck in
[4:58] Speaker 3: the airport and they're bouncing us around from gate to gate.
[5:01] Speaker 3: This was Phoenix Secular Day. I was giving a speech
[5:05] Speaker 3: and I just released the presentation about Jefferson's Jesus. I
[5:09] Speaker 3: was in Phoenix, Arizona, and we had a delayed flight
[5:13] Speaker 3: concourse A on my Layo were in Dallas coming home,
[5:18] Speaker 3: and they were like, Okay, we've got a mechanical problem
[5:21] Speaker 3: and we need you if you want to go to
[5:24] Speaker 3: this other concourse to get an alternative flight. So we're
[5:28] Speaker 3: all rushing, and you've seen Dallas. They've got these trams
[5:32] Speaker 3: that connect concourses ABCD and E and you're waiting to
[5:37] Speaker 3: get on the tram and all of a sudden, the
[5:41] Speaker 3: announcer comes on. This train is arriving. Please do not
[5:46] Speaker 3: block the doors, allow people to exit. And you know
[5:50] Speaker 3: what people did. A horde of people crushed themselves in
[5:55] Speaker 3: front of the door like a brick wall. Explain this
[5:59] Speaker 3: to me. They just heard the voice clear as a
[6:04] Speaker 3: bell say please do not block the doors, and then
[6:09] Speaker 3: they just go in. And then there were tons of
[6:12] Speaker 3: people trying to get off, and they're bumping elbows and
[6:15] Speaker 3: shouldering into each other and excuse me, excuse me, excuse me.
[6:19] Speaker 3: Someone explained this to me. Is it that it's a
[6:25] Speaker 3: public that is in a state of constant distraction? Is
[6:30] Speaker 3: it self interest? I don't give a shit. Like they're
[6:34] Speaker 3: so shortsighted. They think I have to get on, so
[6:38] Speaker 3: I'm going to move forward, not I will actually get
[6:42] Speaker 3: on the tram faster if I allow others to exit first.
[6:46] Speaker 3: And I think this may be a little microcosm of
[6:49] Speaker 3: how people think in life, whether it's doze or anything
[6:53] Speaker 3: else that's going on. We tend to on the front
[6:56] Speaker 3: end think, well, if I do this, I will benefit
[7:00] Speaker 3: Screw everybody else. My interests come first, not realizing that
[7:05] Speaker 3: if we act in the interests of all and we
[7:08] Speaker 3: are all maneuvering, that everybody will actually get there faster
[7:12] Speaker 3: and be more comfortable. It's like when you and I
[7:15] Speaker 3: are on the highway and you're coming up to I
[7:20] Speaker 3: don't know, an exit ramp and on ramp some sort
[7:23] Speaker 3: of a traffic circle or something, and there are people
[7:28] Speaker 3: who are merging. Eighty eighty five percent of the people say, Okay,
[7:32] Speaker 3: we have people who are entering the highway at highway speeds.
[7:35] Speaker 3: I'm going to space myself out and everybody who wants
[7:38] Speaker 3: to slide in can do so easily. This to me
[7:42] Speaker 3: makes sense. Everybody wins. Nobody has to slam on the
[7:46] Speaker 3: brakes until somebody decides, hey, I'm going to game this system,
[7:52] Speaker 3: and they jack their car right down the side lane
[7:56] Speaker 3: or even on the shoulder and then try to nose
[7:59] Speaker 3: themselves in at the front of the line so they
[8:01] Speaker 3: can get to work twelve seconds sooner, and everybody else
[8:06] Speaker 3: has to slam on the brakes and now you've got
[8:10] Speaker 3: stop start to rush hour traffic. But if this person
[8:17] Speaker 3: had just merged alongside everybody else with a little bit
[8:20] Speaker 3: of foresight and some consideration, we all would win. We
[8:25] Speaker 3: all would win, you know what I'm saying. And I
[8:31] Speaker 3: wasn't trying to overthink it, you know, Seth Andrews, airport philosopher, Right,
[8:38] Speaker 3: I was trying to overthink it. But I'm just shocked
[8:41] Speaker 3: by how people don't understand that when they act in
[8:44] Speaker 3: the interest of all, they win. Right, when you act
[8:48] Speaker 3: in the interest of all, we all win. But that
[8:53] Speaker 3: doesn't seem to be the culture that we live in. Well,
[8:59] Speaker 3: let me back up. Let's say that we are divided.
[9:02] Speaker 3: We have a dividing line. There are people who are
[9:05] Speaker 3: more interested in the all, and there are then a
[9:09] Speaker 3: bunch of people who are interested in only themselves, and
[9:12] Speaker 3: there's a clash of cultures. I find it just hugely
[9:16] Speaker 3: ironic that we are named the United States of America.
[9:20] Speaker 3: It's time for a name change. Can you think of
[9:22] Speaker 3: a less United Country. Whenever we talk about the United States,
[9:28] Speaker 3: I'm like, who the hell are they talking about? We
[9:32] Speaker 3: are almost right down the middle, divided on all of
[9:36] Speaker 3: the major issues that come to bear. What are we
[9:40] Speaker 3: united about? I can't even name something. Well, we maybe
[9:46] Speaker 3: agree that we were born here. We've got a social
[9:51] Speaker 3: Security number for now, I don't know. I've been thinking
[9:56] Speaker 3: about human nature and our frustrations. George Darlin used to
[10:00] Speaker 3: talk a lot about humans working against their own interests.
[10:04] Speaker 3: You know, the humans working against their own interests. We
[10:07] Speaker 3: do it all the time. Anyway, if you want to
[10:10] Speaker 3: dial in and talk about something, the numbers are in
[10:13] Speaker 3: the show notes the description box of the broadcast. If
[10:16] Speaker 3: you do with super Chat, I would be honored to
[10:19] Speaker 3: get your supports. It does make a difference, especially knowing
[10:24] Speaker 3: that at any moment, the Trump administration is going to
[10:27] Speaker 3: declare war and the oligarchs are going to decide that
[10:29] Speaker 3: any anti Christian quote unquote bias will immediately be demonetized.
[10:34] Speaker 3: And I look forward to that day. Right, Seth Andrews
[10:38] Speaker 3: is an enemy of God, Let's demonetize everything he does.
[10:44] Speaker 3: What else was I? Oh, forgive me, but I got
[10:46] Speaker 3: to talk about Elon I know I've done a show recently.
[10:49] Speaker 3: We've talked a lot about Elon Musk, but he's unavoidable.
[10:53] Speaker 3: I was talking to and I have been attempting to
[10:56] Speaker 3: engage people who voted for Trump. I go back and
[11:00] Speaker 3: forth on one side. I've written them off, and then
[11:04] Speaker 3: occasionally I come back and I'm like, no, I am
[11:06] Speaker 3: going to plead my case. I'm going to make them
[11:10] Speaker 3: aware that there are pieces of information that are not
[11:15] Speaker 3: disinformation being disseminated by Fox News, Newsmax and right wing radio.
[11:20] Speaker 3: I want to expose them. You know, what was the
[11:22] Speaker 3: statistic that I wrote about in Fox News Christian that
[11:26] Speaker 3: of twenty sixteen to forty percent of Trump voters in
[11:30] Speaker 3: his first election got their news only from one source,
[11:34] Speaker 3: Fox News, forty percent. They were absolutely locked in a
[11:38] Speaker 3: disinformation silo. We do not share the same reality. And
[11:42] Speaker 3: so I thought, well, I feel a responsibility to introduce
[11:46] Speaker 3: people to things that they are not seeing, you know,
[11:50] Speaker 3: that are not being shared on Fox and Friends and
[11:55] Speaker 3: it it's exhausted eggxhausted. Then I kept trying to flip
[12:09] Speaker 3: the script and show a scenario where they would be
[12:13] Speaker 3: outraged if things were happening on the other side. Of
[12:16] Speaker 3: the aisle. So if Joe Biden had appointed another billionaire,
[12:23] Speaker 3: call it Bill Gates, Mark Cuban, somebody like that, right,
[12:28] Speaker 3: and said, Okay, I'm going to give you in a
[12:30] Speaker 3: handful of largely unknown college kids, many of whom have
[12:36] Speaker 3: racist posts, you know, who have a history of tremendously
[12:39] Speaker 3: problematic behavior. Some are still teenagers. I'm going to give
[12:43] Speaker 3: Mark Cuban and his teenagers complete nonfettered access to six
[12:48] Speaker 3: trillion dollars in US treasury, Medicaid, social Security, and AI,
[12:55] Speaker 3: which is not This is not like honed technology and
[12:59] Speaker 3: can tell that whenever we Google search something and it
[13:02] Speaker 3: gives us the AI synopsis, often the AI gets it wrong.
[13:06] Speaker 3: These are situations that are nuanced and require as much
[13:10] Speaker 3: as possible a human touch. But let's say that Biden
[13:13] Speaker 3: had put Mark Cuban and his college people into an
[13:16] Speaker 3: organization that was not a real organization, and they gave
[13:20] Speaker 3: them the power to cut Medicaid and potentially limit or
[13:25] Speaker 3: eliminate your social security. What if they were eliminating your job.
[13:30] Speaker 3: In fact, the person that was speaking to their parent
[13:33] Speaker 3: was a retiree from a government job. What if your
[13:37] Speaker 3: dad went in and all of a sudden they said, oh,
[13:40] Speaker 3: you failed your five bullet point email by after thirty
[13:45] Speaker 3: years observing the state by have a nice day, and
[13:49] Speaker 3: all of a sudden he was scrambling to try to
[13:50] Speaker 3: figure out how he's going to feed his family and
[13:52] Speaker 3: pay the mortgage and everything else. How would you feel
[13:54] Speaker 3: about that kind of unfettered, unchecked power? And I swear
[13:58] Speaker 3: to you it was just a fucking just blank Well,
[14:03] Speaker 3: what about what about? What about? What about a deflection?
[14:09] Speaker 3: How would you feel if Biden posted a photo of
[14:12] Speaker 3: him a portrait of himself in a crown and called
[14:16] Speaker 3: himself king? How would you feel about that? Well? Yeah,
[14:22] Speaker 3: how would you feel if Biden had done this or
[14:26] Speaker 3: this or this or this? We talked about Ukraine? Why
[14:31] Speaker 3: do you think Trump has not once, not once, admitted
[14:34] Speaker 3: that Russia is the aggressor? What's that about? Well, you know,
[14:41] Speaker 3: he wanted to make a deal. He's such a good
[14:43] Speaker 3: deal maker. All right, hang on, let's not talk about
[14:47] Speaker 3: the deal, all right, which is essentially, hey, what are
[14:50] Speaker 3: you going to do for me before I engage in
[14:53] Speaker 3: helping babies to not be bombed by an aggressor who
[14:57] Speaker 3: was invading a sovereign country? Okay, let's let's just go
[15:00] Speaker 3: back to why do you think Trump won't say the
[15:04] Speaker 3: words that Russia is the aggressor invading a sovereign country.
[15:10] Speaker 3: I swear to you it was maddening. By the end
[15:12] Speaker 3: of ninety minutes, I needed Gatorade and a long sleep.
[15:19] Speaker 3: I was exhausted. And then I had this conversation like,
[15:23] Speaker 3: do I continue I was talking about I was talking
[15:25] Speaker 3: about Elon musk As I finally bring it back to
[15:28] Speaker 3: the point I was making. I'm sorry, this is why
[15:30] Speaker 3: it's a tangent. Forgive me. I don't know if you
[15:32] Speaker 3: enjoyed the tangents or not, but I'm all over the place. Okay,
[15:40] Speaker 3: So I'm trying to think of another multi billion dollar company,
[15:45] Speaker 3: any multi billion dollar company where the CEO could disappear,
[15:53] Speaker 3: maybe just leave, go do other shit, do not c
[16:00] Speaker 3: salutes and then joke about them at the highest levels
[16:06] Speaker 3: of exposure, and devalue the stock of the company by half.
[16:16] Speaker 3: What CEO of any other company would be able to
[16:20] Speaker 3: do that and not immediately find emergency meetings of the
[16:26] Speaker 3: board and the stockholders to say, what the hell you're
[16:30] Speaker 3: out of here. Tesla is a company with one hundred
[16:36] Speaker 3: and twenty five thousand employees, by the way, and I
[16:39] Speaker 3: have to say this, and I should say this. I
[16:43] Speaker 3: think the protests against Tesla owners are grieved and they're pissed. Right.
[16:49] Speaker 3: It used to be fun to drive a Tesla. It
[16:51] Speaker 3: used to feel good to be able to have this.
[16:55] Speaker 3: Evs are fun. I think that the three in the
[16:57] Speaker 3: Y and even the s are well made cars. I
[17:00] Speaker 3: know people like to say they're not they're popular. People
[17:03] Speaker 3: enjoy driving them. The cyber trucks to hold another conversation.
[17:07] Speaker 3: But you know, if people are selling their Tesla's and
[17:11] Speaker 3: giving them the fingers they as the truck drives off
[17:14] Speaker 3: with it on the flatbed, wonderful that is. That's an
[17:18] Speaker 3: act of protest. That's a liberation exercise. If you protest
[17:22] Speaker 3: outside of a Tesla dealership, or if you're showing up
[17:24] Speaker 3: at a public forum and you are protesting Elon Musk,
[17:27] Speaker 3: if you are posting all of these things on social media,
[17:30] Speaker 3: if you are speaking out and you are outraged and
[17:33] Speaker 3: you are part of a resistance movement, this is not hey,
[17:37] Speaker 3: this is protected free speech. And I just honestly think
[17:40] Speaker 3: this is a free society working as it should. But
[17:43] Speaker 3: I do totally reject the folence against dealerships and against
[17:50] Speaker 3: Tesla vehicles with people come out and their swastik is painted.
[17:54] Speaker 3: I know that in the meme verse this is totally
[17:56] Speaker 3: a cheap shot. Everybody's like, yeah, men, look at that.
[18:00] Speaker 3: Nazis gets you asked y And I know that we
[18:03] Speaker 3: like to make We can make fun of cyber truck
[18:05] Speaker 3: and owners, knock yourself out, But once we get into
[18:08] Speaker 3: physical destruction, setting shit on fire, smashing glass, vandalism, this
[18:13] Speaker 3: is not the solution to the problem. It only gives
[18:15] Speaker 3: ammo to the opposition, and honestly, it's it's beneath us.
[18:19] Speaker 3: There were other ways. We have to be the adults
[18:21] Speaker 3: in the room, and I do not buy this. Well,
[18:23] Speaker 3: sometimes you got to break the omelet to make the egg.
[18:26] Speaker 3: I don't buy that. We are not at that point,
[18:30] Speaker 3: and vandalizing people's cars makes it. It honestly is one
[18:35] Speaker 3: of the worst things that we can do. There were
[18:37] Speaker 3: other ways to protest, and we should. And I think
[18:42] Speaker 3: that one hundred and twenty five thousand people who work
[18:45] Speaker 3: for Tesla, you know a massive percent of those people
[18:49] Speaker 3: are pissed, like what the what right? Maybe they loved
[18:56] Speaker 3: their jobs, Maybe they love their coworkers. Maybe they've enjoyed
[18:59] Speaker 3: being with test. You know, they were there when it
[19:01] Speaker 3: was the I mean, at some point recently it was
[19:05] Speaker 3: the most popular sedan. I think the three was the
[19:09] Speaker 3: most popular and most sold sedan, at least in the
[19:12] Speaker 3: United States. It was ranked the number one ev sedan
[19:16] Speaker 3: by I think was it Car and Driver.
[19:19] Speaker 4: Or ED.
[19:20] Speaker 3: It was one of the major car publications. And they're like, yeah,
[19:24] Speaker 3: it feels good, right And wait, did I say break
[19:29] Speaker 3: the omelet to make the egg? I'm sorry, break the
[19:33] Speaker 3: egg to make the omelet. Sorry, I had an inversion
[19:38] Speaker 3: in my brain. I short circuited. Sometimes you got to
[19:41] Speaker 3: break the egg to make the omelet. Thank you for
[19:45] Speaker 3: correcting me. This is what you get when you do
[19:47] Speaker 3: an impromptu live stream in front of skeptics. They will
[19:50] Speaker 3: find the flaws and they will come back and all right,
[19:52] Speaker 3: some oftimes break the egg, okay, But setting people's test list,
[19:56] Speaker 3: going and committing these acts of lawlessness, it's no, no,
[20:02] Speaker 3: that's not how we fix the world. Okay. But I
[20:05] Speaker 3: do know that people working for Tesla, I know the
[20:07] Speaker 3: shareholders have got that. I mean, can you imagine losing
[20:10] Speaker 3: fifty percent of the value of your shares in Tesla
[20:14] Speaker 3: because the CEO is doing Nazi shit and being generally
[20:18] Speaker 3: toxic and heading up an assault on democracy and decency.
[20:21] Speaker 3: Of course you would be horrified. So you've lost what
[20:24] Speaker 3: fifty percent of the value. Well, now's not the time
[20:27] Speaker 3: to sell. The shareholder meeting for Tesla, I believe is
[20:30] Speaker 3: coming up in June. But I'm sitting back thinking, Okay, okay.
[20:39] Speaker 3: Bord of Directors watches this guy and he's running around
[20:44] Speaker 3: in his Hollywood sunglasses wheeling a chainsaw. You know he's
[20:48] Speaker 3: he's bringing in college kids with nicknames like big Balls
[20:53] Speaker 3: to decide what happens to our financial future. He insults
[20:57] Speaker 3: an astronaut. I'm sorry, sorry, an astronaut. If there is
[21:06] Speaker 3: a more fireman and astronauts probably the most beloved American icons.
[21:12] Speaker 3: You're going after, an astronaut, You're going after scientists and
[21:16] Speaker 3: social service workers. And you piss off the world. And
[21:19] Speaker 3: you know you support the guy who wants to declare
[21:21] Speaker 3: financial war and maybe eventually physical war on fucking Canada.
[21:25] Speaker 3: I'm sorry Canada. You want to conquest of Canada? Yeah,
[21:31] Speaker 3: And then you watch the entire value of the company
[21:34] Speaker 3: that you've invested in, go board of directors. Where the
[21:39] Speaker 3: hell are they? The chairman of that board, I forget
[21:47] Speaker 3: her name off the top of my head. She is
[21:50] Speaker 3: worth five or six hundred million dollars. Oh, there's some
[21:55] Speaker 3: incentive to shut your hole, musk. Musk culture has been
[22:05] Speaker 3: pretty lucraid. But even then, I mean, where the why
[22:10] Speaker 3: are there not emergency board meetings happening right now? I
[22:14] Speaker 3: me you, I don't hear anything about him? Hello, danger,
[22:19] Speaker 3: damage control problem. There are finally calls by some people
[22:23] Speaker 3: to say he needs to get out of there, But
[22:24] Speaker 3: the shareholders meet in June. I would think, how about
[22:27] Speaker 3: an emergency shareholders conference. I think it's worth that. Hey,
[22:31] Speaker 3: you know what instead of June, I'm thinking early April,
[22:36] Speaker 3: damage control. Hello, and Donald Trump called EV's lunacy. This
[22:44] Speaker 3: was just last year. So before he's turning the White
[22:48] Speaker 3: House lawn into a Tesla showroom. You know, come get
[22:54] Speaker 3: your Tesla Sunday, Sunday Sunday. Anyone think Donald Trump knows
[22:58] Speaker 3: how to drive a freaking car let alone? I'm sorry,
[23:02] Speaker 3: So he said promoting electric vehicles was the idea of
[23:08] Speaker 3: the radical left, fascists, Marxists, and communists. I'm sorry. And
[23:16] Speaker 3: now all of a sudden, he just flips the script
[23:18] Speaker 3: and he's like, Tesla, Yay. Why aren't these people who
[23:22] Speaker 3: are in Tesla freaking out? Is it fear that they'll
[23:27] Speaker 3: be docked? I think someone said that somewhere someone published
[23:32] Speaker 3: the personal information including the addresses of was it Tesla
[23:37] Speaker 3: owners or Tesla shareholders? Jesus Christ, that's not the answer,
[23:45] Speaker 3: because many people who are involved with the company have
[23:48] Speaker 3: seen it as a company and they're scrambling to figure
[23:51] Speaker 3: out how to stop the bleeding and get this asshole
[23:54] Speaker 3: out of power to begin with. These people are not
[23:56] Speaker 3: your enemy, right. It just irritates me those people who
[23:59] Speaker 3: think that the Left doesn't have its share of extremists
[24:03] Speaker 3: to do unproductive things who can't be emotional bags of
[24:08] Speaker 3: you know, skeleton or meat covered skeletons. I think it's
[24:11] Speaker 3: what we let. We're all primate's emotional primates. Those people
[24:14] Speaker 3: who think the Left doesn't have a faction of people
[24:17] Speaker 3: that go from healthy reaction to overreaction have no idea
[24:20] Speaker 3: what they're talking about. This is human nature, and I
[24:22] Speaker 3: think we have to call out unproductive and untoward and
[24:25] Speaker 3: even illegal behavior whenever we see it. I know that's
[24:28] Speaker 3: a nuanced position. On the internet. The binary thinkers are
[24:31] Speaker 3: going to reject that wholesale take a number. I don't
[24:34] Speaker 3: give a shit it's wrong, but I do have to wonder,
[24:39] Speaker 3: you know, why aren't we seeing an active move in
[24:43] Speaker 3: the immediate by the board and the shareholders. I think
[24:46] Speaker 3: the shareholders are probably a little hamstrung. But at least
[24:49] Speaker 3: the Board of directors, right, I mean, they hold his
[24:52] Speaker 3: destiny in their hands. He's a majority shareholder, but what
[24:55] Speaker 3: does he have? Fifteen percent, seventeen percent shares and he's
[25:01] Speaker 3: still at the mercy, he's still on paper. At least
[25:04] Speaker 3: is accountable to the board. John Irving had this great
[25:10] Speaker 3: quote in Cider House Rules. He said, being afraid that
[25:15] Speaker 3: you will look like a coward is the worst reason
[25:17] Speaker 3: for doing anything, and I will include not doing anything
[25:22] Speaker 3: in that. You know, is that what leadership is? Is
[25:24] Speaker 3: that what leadership is? Get out of your chairs or
[25:28] Speaker 3: go down with the cyber trucks. Did you read that
[25:31] Speaker 3: there was a recall? Now like forty something thousand cyber
[25:34] Speaker 3: trucks are being recalled because one of the panels that
[25:37] Speaker 3: is glued on that shit's just flying off in traffic. Literally,
[25:46] Speaker 3: Oh look, flying guillotine just gave a speech at Florida
[25:53] Speaker 3: three thought about the deference to authority figures. It is
[25:57] Speaker 3: amazing how people will surren under all of their power,
[26:03] Speaker 3: all of their decision making away to someone who promises
[26:07] Speaker 3: them the moon. I'll fix it, i'll make it right,
[26:11] Speaker 3: i'll protect you, I'll make you rich. And they go yay,
[26:16] Speaker 3: and then they just wink out and say, here's everything.
[26:21] Speaker 1: Take it.
[26:23] Speaker 3: Take my voice, take my vote, take my social Security number,
[26:27] Speaker 3: take my future, Take all the decisions, take all the responsibility.
[26:31] Speaker 3: I totally trust you. Congratulations, you have now told the
[26:35] Speaker 3: story of every authoritarian in history. I will save you. You know,
[26:41] Speaker 3: we're a culture that loves save your figures. Someone else
[26:46] Speaker 3: just to handle it. I'm busy. I'm raising kids and
[26:48] Speaker 3: doing my job, and I got shit to take care
[26:50] Speaker 3: of and responsibilities. Who's got time for all this. I'm
[26:54] Speaker 3: going to find somebody who looks and sounds impressive to me,
[26:57] Speaker 3: and I'm just going to give them the keys to
[26:59] Speaker 3: the whole thing. Here you go, here, you go, knock
[27:03] Speaker 3: your stuff out, and then you come back, you know
[27:07] Speaker 3: a few months later, and you're like, hey, where's democracy.
[27:12] Speaker 3: I knew I put it around here, somewhere check under
[27:16] Speaker 3: the couch. Now I don't see democracy there. Maybe I
[27:21] Speaker 3: left it in the garage. Still to come. We have
[27:28] Speaker 3: you and your calls. Well, go to the phones right
[27:31] Speaker 3: after this. Thank you so much for being here. I
[27:39] Speaker 3: hope you are hanging in there. We are talking about
[27:43] Speaker 3: whatever it is that is on your mind today. As
[27:47] Speaker 3: we take our first call, Michael is calling in from
[27:52] Speaker 3: three one five. Michael, are you there?
[27:55] Speaker 4: I am, How are you set?
[27:56] Speaker 3: I'm well, thanks for calling. Let's chat. What's on your mind?
[28:00] Speaker 4: Well, I saw some data over the weekend that, you know,
[28:03] Speaker 4: looking at all the social media channels and the podcasts
[28:06] Speaker 4: and the videos and the TV channels, and how much
[28:08] Speaker 4: of that just by volume is right leaning information. So
[28:12] Speaker 4: you know, I know you're on wacky scheduled and stuff.
[28:14] Speaker 4: But first I just wanted to say, you know, thank
[28:16] Speaker 4: you for trying to pop in when you can and
[28:19] Speaker 4: get your voice out there and that, oh you know,
[28:22] Speaker 4: that is important stuff. So thank you.
[28:24] Speaker 3: That's appreciated. Forgive me here. I'm sniffling its allergy season.
[28:27] Speaker 3: And I was also just in a series of airplanes
[28:30] Speaker 3: which are Petrie dishes. In fact, you know what I
[28:33] Speaker 3: need to make a note put hang on put in
[28:36] Speaker 3: ninety five mask in carry on. I'm serious. I meant
[28:42] Speaker 3: to do that last time. I was on a when
[28:43] Speaker 3: I was going to Orlando. Half the plane was going
[28:46] Speaker 3: to Disney, and all it was was just kids coughing,
[28:49] Speaker 3: and I thought to myself, Oh my god, this is
[28:52] Speaker 3: a Petrie dish and ninety five mask. Okay, thanks for
[28:57] Speaker 3: the reminder, go ahead, what else was on your mind?
[29:00] Speaker 4: I was on a zoom call with my representative recently
[29:03] Speaker 4: and there were about twenty thousand people that he said,
[29:06] Speaker 4: dialed in and everyone's very upset. And one of the
[29:09] Speaker 4: things he said was, hey, you know, we in Congress
[29:12] Speaker 4: said fully recognize that what this administration is doing is illegal,
[29:17] Speaker 4: he said, but unfortunately a lot of our constituents don't
[29:20] Speaker 4: see it that way. And that to me is a
[29:22] Speaker 4: real sticking point here. And I don't have the historical
[29:25] Speaker 4: context to look at how other big issues have been
[29:27] Speaker 4: handled in the history of our country. But I mean,
[29:29] Speaker 4: have we ever been this far? You were just talking
[29:31] Speaker 4: about this divide where we are literally looking at what is,
[29:35] Speaker 4: on its face, unlawful conduct, and so many people saying
[29:39] Speaker 4: it seems fine to me. I don't see an issue here.
[29:41] Speaker 5: How do you navigate that.
[29:43] Speaker 3: I follow the work of American historian Heather Conx Richardson,
[29:48] Speaker 3: and she talks about the cultural divide and the essentially
[29:54] Speaker 3: white slavers that were dominating the culture in the mid
[29:57] Speaker 3: eighteen hundreds. And you talk about a divide, you know,
[30:02] Speaker 3: we're talking pre Civil War and during the Civil War
[30:06] Speaker 3: United States, when we literally carried out violence on each
[30:10] Speaker 3: other to solve the conflict, you know, and it was
[30:14] Speaker 3: messy and it was awful, it was horrible, and it
[30:16] Speaker 3: was bloody and all those types of things. And her
[30:18] Speaker 3: take is, you know, we have in a few ways
[30:21] Speaker 3: been here before, but it was after the people rose
[30:25] Speaker 3: up and then Lincoln was elected and we began to
[30:29] Speaker 3: re establish a democracy and a government for the people,
[30:32] Speaker 3: by the people of the people, et cetera. And so
[30:35] Speaker 3: she's like, stay vigilant because if our history shows us anything,
[30:39] Speaker 3: it shows us that while there are times of great
[30:42] Speaker 3: division and the oligarchs and the authoritarians do come in
[30:46] Speaker 3: and screw things up, historically we do see uprisings and
[30:51] Speaker 3: we do see people come back and an often very
[30:55] Speaker 3: very difficult course correction. And so I do think we've
[30:59] Speaker 3: been divided. I think all you have to do is
[31:01] Speaker 3: go back to the Civil War time and the divide
[31:04] Speaker 3: on whether or not people of color were human beings.
[31:08] Speaker 3: And but what's happening is admittedly historic, and I think
[31:12] Speaker 3: we have to keep kicking for what it's worth. Okay, yeah, I.
[31:16] Speaker 4: Completely agree with you.
[31:17] Speaker 6: You know, I was similarly looking at some content about,
[31:20] Speaker 6: you know, how how dictators and fasciats typically lose power
[31:25] Speaker 6: and it's never that they go, Okay, I'm out to
[31:27] Speaker 6: see you guys later and they leave right. So, like, yes,
[31:30] Speaker 6: we have been here before, but track record is not
[31:33] Speaker 6: good for what happens next.
[31:34] Speaker 3: I think I think, you know, they executed Mussolini. I
[31:39] Speaker 3: think about all the other ones that were, you know,
[31:41] Speaker 3: thrown out in disgrace. I mean, it's to storm. The
[31:44] Speaker 3: vast Deal was not exactly a pleasant moment in the
[31:47] Speaker 3: history of France, but it was it was a revolt
[31:51] Speaker 3: of the people who had had enough. I don't know
[31:54] Speaker 3: if that's coming, but I'll tell you this. If Trump
[31:58] Speaker 3: starts ignoring or continues to begin ignoring and blasting and
[32:02] Speaker 3: marginalizing judges and the judiciary, essentially the last check against
[32:07] Speaker 3: him since the Congress has compromised, then what other recourse
[32:12] Speaker 3: do you have if he's weaponized law enforcement, he supposedly
[32:16] Speaker 3: has the military at his disposal. I'm trying to think
[32:19] Speaker 3: if the military will actually follow in a moral order,
[32:22] Speaker 3: or if the general's will rebolt against him. But if
[32:26] Speaker 3: that's the case and then he ignores the courts, I
[32:30] Speaker 3: wonder if there's any other recourse, if there will have
[32:32] Speaker 3: to be some kind of nasty uprising, what will that
[32:36] Speaker 3: look like? So what is that line that Martin Luther
[32:40] Speaker 3: King Junior used, Riots are the language of the unheard,
[32:45] Speaker 3: I believe is what he said. It's something to watch, Michael,
[32:48] Speaker 3: good question.
[32:49] Speaker 4: Ever the first step? Yeah, like, you know, I heard
[32:53] Speaker 4: what you're saying about. You know, we don't condone violence
[32:57] Speaker 4: against you know, or destruction of property.
[32:58] Speaker 7: And thing like that.
[32:59] Speaker 8: I think the the.
[33:00] Speaker 4: Frustration is we've been very vocal through normal means for
[33:05] Speaker 4: a long time, and it doesn't seem like that is
[33:07] Speaker 4: making a dent. And so there's part of me that thinks, well,
[33:10] Speaker 4: you know, nobody wants this, but I don't know that
[33:12] Speaker 4: it's avoidable if the other methods aren't yielded with any improvements.
[33:19] Speaker 5: Do you know what I mean?
[33:20] Speaker 3: You and I are in the same boat. I feel
[33:23] Speaker 3: like part of me wants to take a lawn chair
[33:25] Speaker 3: to a high perch and just you know, get a
[33:28] Speaker 3: mye tie and some sunglasses to witness the end of
[33:31] Speaker 3: Western civilization. But I refuse to give up all hope
[33:35] Speaker 3: and I hope you feel the same. Michael, thanks for
[33:38] Speaker 3: calling my friend.
[33:39] Speaker 4: Absolutely, thank you.
[33:40] Speaker 3: Yeah, see you later. Diana at seven six zero, Hi,
[33:47] Speaker 3: are you there? Yes, Hello, welcome. What's on your mind?
[33:51] Speaker 8: Yeah, real quick, I'm going to just get an opinion.
[33:57] Speaker 8: In my opinion, doose is creating an apart time in
[34:00] Speaker 8: the United States, the oligarts and the poor. It just
[34:05] Speaker 8: really bothers me. The dismantling of the government, the firing
[34:10] Speaker 8: of hard working people and the important work that they do,
[34:15] Speaker 8: is very disheartening. These organizations, regardless of people have heard
[34:20] Speaker 8: of them or not, have always been doing work for
[34:24] Speaker 8: the people.
[34:25] Speaker 9: Whether it's USA ID or the Department of.
[34:29] Speaker 8: Education or FEMA, all these organizations work for the people,
[34:36] Speaker 8: the consumer protection people.
[34:38] Speaker 10: They're working for the.
[34:39] Speaker 8: People, and by dismantling them takes away the power of
[34:45] Speaker 8: the people, every day ordinary citizens.
[34:49] Speaker 3: That's about it, and that's plenty. Diana. Thanks for sharing
[34:53] Speaker 3: your voice. Appreciate you, thank you for your Timebye, Dear America.
[35:00] Speaker 3: An unelected South African who immigrated here illegally, he skipped
[35:08] Speaker 3: his student visa and just stayed is now essentially arguably
[35:14] Speaker 3: the most powerful person in the country, and he has
[35:18] Speaker 3: a stranglehold over your financial future. And they're like, yay, oh,
[35:25] Speaker 3: here's one of my favorites. Some of the people. There
[35:28] Speaker 3: are some who are Trump voters who are starting to
[35:31] Speaker 3: feel the pain and now they're reversing course. I'm mixed
[35:36] Speaker 3: on that. You know, part of me. If someone wakes
[35:38] Speaker 3: out of a cult legitimately, I definitely want to be
[35:41] Speaker 3: there for them. If somebody simply said, oh shit, I
[35:43] Speaker 3: never thought somebody would ruin my life. I have not
[35:46] Speaker 3: much sympathy for them. But you know, the idea that
[35:51] Speaker 3: a South African oligarch is holding their future hostage, they
[35:55] Speaker 3: seem okay with. And then there are some people who
[35:58] Speaker 3: when they lose their jobs and they up on the
[36:00] Speaker 3: bubble considering they consider it their patriotic duty. I lost
[36:04] Speaker 3: my job, but you know this is we're we have
[36:07] Speaker 3: to bite the bullet if we're going to fix America.
[36:09] Speaker 3: So I'm here to serve. What's that line from Starship
[36:12] Speaker 3: Troopers in all the propaganda commercials that they used to
[36:18] Speaker 3: I'm doing my part. Yeah, I'm doing my part. I
[36:23] Speaker 3: got fired for America. I'm doing my part. I have
[36:26] Speaker 3: a web call no name given? Wait is it? Selouf?
[36:31] Speaker 3: Celof helped me out.
[36:33] Speaker 11: Yeah, hello, I'm Selouf.
[36:36] Speaker 3: Welcome, I sure can. What's on your mind?
[36:40] Speaker 6: Oh?
[36:40] Speaker 11: Well, you know the world in flames, but also cats,
[36:43] Speaker 11: So take your pick. What do you want to talk about.
[36:46] Speaker 11: I'm glad to either give you someone to talk to
[36:49] Speaker 11: about with the politics, maybe an outside perspective because I
[36:52] Speaker 11: live in Sweden and so I'm part of like the
[36:55] Speaker 11: rest of the world that's just watching on in horror.
[36:58] Speaker 11: But I also have lovely cats, one of whom just
[37:01] Speaker 11: jumped up to greet me.
[37:03] Speaker 3: Yeah, let me show everybody. You can see it. It's
[37:06] Speaker 3: it's healed up a little bit, but I have a
[37:09] Speaker 3: probably a three inch scar here from cat. Yesterday he
[37:14] Speaker 3: was sleeping on my chest and he was like, and
[37:19] Speaker 3: then there was we had super high winds and something
[37:23] Speaker 3: must have blown over outside and it freaked him out
[37:26] Speaker 3: from a dead sleep, and he jumped up and scrambled
[37:29] Speaker 3: away and just scratched the hell out of my arms.
[37:32] Speaker 3: I'm sitting here, you know, bleeding going, Thanks Kittie. So no,
[37:36] Speaker 3: all right in a nutshell, what's your perspective from overseas?
[37:40] Speaker 3: What do you think about what you see?
[37:43] Speaker 11: Well, there's the watching on in horror as a bunch
[37:47] Speaker 11: of fascist neo Nazis takeover and just seeing you know,
[37:51] Speaker 11: Germany leading up to World War two happening all over again,
[37:54] Speaker 11: but in slightly different order. And the poem of you know,
[37:59] Speaker 11: first came for the insert group here, and I didn't
[38:02] Speaker 11: say anything because I'm not part of that group. Then
[38:04] Speaker 11: they came for et cetera. You know the poem. Yes,
[38:08] Speaker 11: I'm just it's running through my head almost every day.
[38:12] Speaker 11: But it's like different groups. Is so like it's it's
[38:15] Speaker 11: trans people and government officials and you know, and so
[38:22] Speaker 11: it's very much like first they came for the government officials,
[38:25] Speaker 11: and I said nothing because I wasn't the government official,
[38:28] Speaker 11: et cetera, et cetera.
[38:29] Speaker 3: Sure, well, I think one of the fallacies is that
[38:34] Speaker 3: people are saying government should be run like a business,
[38:38] Speaker 3: And businesses are pretty much for profit, right, But governments
[38:43] Speaker 3: are there to provide structure, safety, and service to societies.
[38:50] Speaker 3: And these are two different entities, and it's also front loaded.
[38:56] Speaker 3: If somebody goes through with the machety and says, yay,
[38:58] Speaker 3: we saved a few billion dollars by cutting all of
[39:00] Speaker 3: these service workers, they have not necessarily taken into account
[39:05] Speaker 3: how much it's going to cost us in terms of
[39:07] Speaker 3: dollars and human suffering when those services are gone, and
[39:11] Speaker 3: those costs are often so much greater. It's very myopic,
[39:15] Speaker 3: and I think it's the business model is the wrong
[39:18] Speaker 3: one to take when it comes to government. You agree
[39:21] Speaker 3: with that, I hear absolutely.
[39:24] Speaker 11: I honestly, America, like generally around the world, but especially
[39:29] Speaker 11: in America, there's too much money in politics. I believe
[39:33] Speaker 11: it was in the UK when they're like doing their
[39:35] Speaker 11: campaigns or whatever, they have a cap on how much
[39:38] Speaker 11: they're allowed to spend on their campaigns, whereas in America
[39:42] Speaker 11: it's like you need at least above that cap to
[39:46] Speaker 11: even get off the ground.
[39:48] Speaker 3: Well, any final thoughts before I move on? Anything else
[39:52] Speaker 3: you want to share?
[39:55] Speaker 12: Oh?
[39:55] Speaker 11: There was something? Well was that? It slipped my mind now,
[40:01] Speaker 11: But I'm sending you lots of well wishes and cat
[40:06] Speaker 11: purs kitten in my arms right now and purring her
[40:12] Speaker 11: little hair.
[40:13] Speaker 3: What's your cat's name.
[40:14] Speaker 11: Well, this one that I'm cuddling right now, her name
[40:16] Speaker 11: is Louis, which is a Germanic version of Lewis, but
[40:21] Speaker 11: I like it because it also has layers of meaning
[40:25] Speaker 11: to it in Swedish because she's very fluffy, like a lynx,
[40:29] Speaker 11: and the lynx in Swedish is called louy, so you
[40:32] Speaker 11: got the lou there, and wisdom to be wise in
[40:35] Speaker 11: Swedish is called v's doom or at mani vs. So
[40:39] Speaker 11: I like to think of her name as a bit
[40:41] Speaker 11: of a portmanteau of like a wise lynx. Her sister's
[40:44] Speaker 11: name is Comet because she's mostly black but has orange
[40:47] Speaker 11: flex on her, including one spray of orange going from
[40:51] Speaker 11: her nose up onto her forehead like a comet.
[40:57] Speaker 3: What's your name?
[40:58] Speaker 11: The third one's name is Flida, and she's like all
[41:00] Speaker 11: three colors.
[41:02] Speaker 3: All right, all right, Well, thanks for Colin. I appreciate
[41:04] Speaker 3: you very much.
[41:05] Speaker 11: Take it easy, mind your blood pressure, okay.
[41:09] Speaker 3: Uh, Katie, I'm so frustrated because the Dams won't stand
[41:13] Speaker 3: up and fight. Biden was too busy looking like a
[41:16] Speaker 3: nice guy to be effective. Well, Katie and I agree
[41:19] Speaker 3: right now that the Democratic Party I mean, not get
[41:23] Speaker 3: hurting cats, I get your independent thinkers, but Jesus Christ.
[41:27] Speaker 3: Outside of a few frontline activists Jamie Raskin AOC, Elizabeth
[41:32] Speaker 3: Warren's been out there, some others, a few others, largely,
[41:35] Speaker 3: where the where are the Democrats? Why why are they
[41:39] Speaker 3: not having emergency meetings and putting together a unified, full
[41:44] Speaker 3: front effort to resist. Where are the public gatherings? Where
[41:48] Speaker 3: is the unified official statement?
[41:51] Speaker 5: You know?
[41:51] Speaker 3: Where? Where is the necessary reaction? I swear to you,
[41:58] Speaker 3: it's so freaking frustrating right now to get somebody who
[42:01] Speaker 3: is really sounding the alarm and getting his voice out there.
[42:04] Speaker 3: We got to go to Bernie Sanders, right, We got
[42:08] Speaker 3: well what's that about? And there's a lot about Bernie
[42:11] Speaker 3: I really like, I appreciate, I really think the guy is.
[42:14] Speaker 3: I think he cares and he's one of a great communicator, Yeah,
[42:19] Speaker 3: great communicator, and I think he speaks a lot of
[42:23] Speaker 3: truth about the stuff that's going on. But I'm frustrated
[42:26] Speaker 3: with the Democrats. Jesus get organized. They're having a conversation
[42:32] Speaker 3: in the chat about why we should have voted third
[42:35] Speaker 3: party and we wouldn't be in this mess or whatever,
[42:38] Speaker 3: and that's just bullshit. Breaking third party and non participants
[42:46] Speaker 3: are part of the reason we're in this mess right now,
[42:51] Speaker 3: Pie in the sky third party and they're like, well,
[42:53] Speaker 3: as long as we participate in the system, we're enabling
[42:56] Speaker 3: the system. So this is a protest vote. You know,
[42:59] Speaker 3: in a perfect world and great freaking house is on fire,
[43:04] Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, The perfect is the enemy
[43:06] Speaker 3: of the good. I would take a flawed democracy in
[43:10] Speaker 3: a country in massive debt with a lot of you know,
[43:13] Speaker 3: I would take what we had over what we have.
[43:16] Speaker 3: I mean, it's no contest. I would take somebody who
[43:20] Speaker 3: was promoting egalitarian values, who wants to tax the billionaires,
[43:27] Speaker 3: who wants to give tax breaks to students, you know,
[43:31] Speaker 3: loan forgiveness, protecting LGBT people, gay marriage, trans people. You know,
[43:37] Speaker 3: who wants to somebody who runs on a platform like that.
[43:42] Speaker 3: It's not even close, okay. And other people are like, oh, well,
[43:46] Speaker 3: they're the same as the guy who wants to ignore
[43:51] Speaker 3: the entire judiciary enable the oligarchs, makes quillions of dollars
[43:56] Speaker 3: while selling five hundred dollars golden tennis shoes on his
[44:00] Speaker 3: own website, and declare war on Canada. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
[44:07] Speaker 3: What on what zana do do you live on? What
[44:10] Speaker 3: planet do you live where you look at this and
[44:12] Speaker 3: say it's remotely equal? Oh, San's just mart of the problem.
[44:15] Speaker 3: He's deluded. The Democrats are bandy, nimmy pumblica, and we
[44:19] Speaker 3: can do no no, no illusions. Was it Noah went
[44:28] Speaker 3: off on the the third party and the non participants.
[44:32] Speaker 3: I don't want to throw them out there unless but
[44:34] Speaker 3: I think it was Noah, And I was like, yeah,
[44:37] Speaker 3: if anyone can rant about this shit, it's no illusions
[44:40] Speaker 3: of the scathing atheist. He can throw down verbally better
[44:46] Speaker 3: than most. I'm just Shayan seven five seven Alan High,
[44:54] Speaker 3: thanks for Collin.
[44:55] Speaker 5: Hey, how you doing today?
[44:56] Speaker 3: I'm well, what's on your mind? Is it just me?
[45:00] Speaker 9: Because I mean, it seems like every time I turn around,
[45:02] Speaker 9: it's like right there in front of us, every person
[45:06] Speaker 9: that speaks for Trump, especially, it seems like the females
[45:11] Speaker 9: just this big cross on their chest and it's like Halo,
[45:14] Speaker 9: and it just seems like we're just watching this Christian
[45:18] Speaker 9: nationalist movement just catch Greece and just movete What about
[45:26] Speaker 9: females and not necessarily the females. I just noticed it
[45:32] Speaker 9: with the two like the Press Secretary and hits the
[45:37] Speaker 9: Department of Justice person.
[45:39] Speaker 13: It seems like.
[45:39] Speaker 9: Every time they're on big old Cross, it's just standing
[45:44] Speaker 9: out there and it's just a big reminder that you know,
[45:47] Speaker 9: we're taking over.
[45:49] Speaker 3: Well a type of I'm seeing it's across the board.
[45:54] Speaker 3: The sicko fans are across the board. I've actually seen
[45:56] Speaker 3: more males than females. I mean, whether it's Ruby or
[46:01] Speaker 3: you know, any of those cats, Mike Johnson, all the
[46:05] Speaker 3: Republican governors, my own governor Stitts. He's got his head
[46:08] Speaker 3: so far up Trump's ass he could probably see if
[46:11] Speaker 3: he has cavities. So yeah, I mean there are people
[46:14] Speaker 3: Linda McMahon and over at Education and the Press Secretary.
[46:19] Speaker 3: I get what you're saying. I don't think this is
[46:21] Speaker 3: a gender thing, but I understand the frustration that these people.
[46:26] Speaker 3: There are many people that are waving the Cross of
[46:28] Speaker 3: Christ while they are essentially doing the worst shit in
[46:32] Speaker 3: the universe. So you and I are both watching that
[46:36] Speaker 3: for sure.
[46:36] Speaker 1: Okay, I guess I just you know, I meant when
[46:41] Speaker 1: I see because I guess the mom of males can't
[46:44] Speaker 1: necessarily post a big wear of the cross chain around
[46:47] Speaker 1: their necklace, you know, and show it like the female,
[46:50] Speaker 1: so you see it more predominant the females. And I
[46:52] Speaker 1: guess what I'm saying, but oh absolutely, I mean we're changing.
[46:56] Speaker 1: We have Mark Rubio who just can change what he
[46:59] Speaker 1: says about Ukraine. And it's a scary time. I mean,
[47:02] Speaker 1: you know, I actually caught flag the other day. I
[47:05] Speaker 1: have a flag in my front yard that's half the
[47:08] Speaker 1: United States flag and half the Ukraine flag, and I've
[47:12] Speaker 1: had it for a while, and you know, it's weird
[47:14] Speaker 1: how all of a sudden now it's a political view
[47:18] Speaker 1: and it's just where the hell have we gone to?
[47:21] Speaker 1: It's from one extreme to another. It's like they're still
[47:25] Speaker 1: mad about Obama or something. I have no idea what the.
[47:28] Speaker 7: Hell is going on?
[47:29] Speaker 3: Well, okay, it.
[47:31] Speaker 9: Seems like everyone around me is.
[47:33] Speaker 5: I know, I just went on.
[47:35] Speaker 6: But.
[47:37] Speaker 9: Pretty much explains how I feel about it.
[47:39] Speaker 3: It's funny, as somebody posted that when I see somebody
[47:42] Speaker 3: waving an American flag or hanging an American flag off
[47:45] Speaker 3: of the house or a vehicle, I start to expect
[47:48] Speaker 3: the worst. And I hate that, you know, I hate
[47:51] Speaker 3: to think, oh, well, there's maga right, But that's kind
[47:54] Speaker 3: of they've weaponized the flag to the point where that's
[47:56] Speaker 3: the first assumption that you make. And so I definitely
[48:00] Speaker 3: have seen that, Alan, And thanks for venting, and you
[48:04] Speaker 3: hang in there out there.
[48:05] Speaker 5: Okay, Oh, I appreciate it.
[48:06] Speaker 3: All right, We'll see you later. I'd like to see
[48:09] Speaker 3: an adjustment and perception on that, the idea that women
[48:14] Speaker 3: are wearing the jewelry with crosses, and so we were
[48:18] Speaker 3: seeing it outwardly displayed more my females. It rings sexist
[48:25] Speaker 3: to me. That may not be how he meant it,
[48:28] Speaker 3: but I mean we are seeing cross emblems, cross tattoos,
[48:32] Speaker 3: cross shirts, language about the cross that is being literally
[48:36] Speaker 3: held forward as people across the spectrum are moving forward
[48:43] Speaker 3: for the interest of dictatorial power and or Christian nationalism
[48:48] Speaker 3: trump Ism Project twenty twenty five. It's not a gender thing,
[48:52] Speaker 3: and I don't think it's being broadcast as such. Let's
[48:56] Speaker 3: talk about Canada with a guy named Bill seven eight
[49:00] Speaker 3: zero high. Are you there?
[49:02] Speaker 7: Hey?
[49:03] Speaker 5: That's how things well.
[49:05] Speaker 3: Democracy is on fire and I may need asylum when
[49:09] Speaker 3: I come to Canada. I'm going to Alberta in the summer.
[49:12] Speaker 3: But other than that, things are just peachy. What's on
[49:15] Speaker 3: your mind.
[49:16] Speaker 5: First off, I'm glad you're coming down. I'm coming up
[49:19] Speaker 5: to Calgary. I'm up in Edmonton myself, just north of
[49:23] Speaker 5: so my perspective on this all that you can give
[49:26] Speaker 5: a quick history here in Canada. I grew up with
[49:29] Speaker 5: somebody whose parents were born during the war. My teachers
[49:34] Speaker 5: were people who fought during the war, one of whom
[49:36] Speaker 5: was a victim of interment. I spent my life as
[49:40] Speaker 5: a construction worker building the plants they provide the American oil.
[49:44] Speaker 5: I've worked with a lot of Americans. There is, unfortunately
[49:48] Speaker 5: a inborn arrogance that comes with America because it's America first.
[49:51] Speaker 5: America is great, America has done all these things. America
[49:54] Speaker 5: has saved everybody, YadA YadA. I understand where it comes from, etcetera,
[49:58] Speaker 5: et cetera. But my teachers it also taught me that
[50:02] Speaker 5: be ready, they're coming. They will come for us at
[50:04] Speaker 5: some point in time. And I'm watching this happen now.
[50:09] Speaker 5: In some ways, Trump was the greatest thing that happened to
[50:11] Speaker 5: Canada because he exposed the right wing for it was.
[50:14] Speaker 5: But it was the Nazis that I've betrayed you people
[50:16] Speaker 5: like they they're pointing out groups of people saying they're
[50:20] Speaker 5: the problem. They're the problem, and nobody wants to put
[50:23] Speaker 5: two and two together. Glad you guys are doing it
[50:26] Speaker 5: now yourself, you know, Aaron. It's good to see. But
[50:32] Speaker 5: up here in Canada, a lot of us has expected
[50:34] Speaker 5: this for a while, the anti American sentiments. It's not
[50:39] Speaker 5: that we don't like Americans as individuals. I love you, dude,
[50:43] Speaker 5: I've bought your books. I hope I can come down
[50:45] Speaker 5: to Calgary and see. I'll have to see all my
[50:47] Speaker 5: finances work. But we sit up here sometimes and we
[50:50] Speaker 5: listen to people who come up, especially in the oil industry.
[50:54] Speaker 5: They come up here and they tell us, oh, yeah,
[50:56] Speaker 5: we've come up here to help you because you don't
[50:57] Speaker 5: know what you're doing. I have a Journeyman ticket in
[51:01] Speaker 5: my pocket, this rank around the world. I have a
[51:03] Speaker 5: red seal, which means I can work anywhere in Canada
[51:06] Speaker 5: and it's a respected across the globe. But as far
[51:09] Speaker 5: as the whole situation gets bad up here for you guys,
[51:12] Speaker 5: I mean we have rallied. Now. There is stuff on
[51:16] Speaker 5: the shelves. You can buy Reese's pieces two for one.
[51:19] Speaker 5: You could buy all kinds of stuff made in America.
[51:22] Speaker 5: It is on sale. There is no lettuce at my
[51:24] Speaker 5: local grocery store because it was all American. It's wild
[51:28] Speaker 5: up here. You'll get a chance when you come up
[51:30] Speaker 5: to see some of it if you really want. But well,
[51:34] Speaker 5: if the Americans did invade, we're scared of it.
[51:37] Speaker 3: Looks when I come up, I'm a little worried that
[51:42] Speaker 3: when I crossed the border, Canadians are going to kick
[51:45] Speaker 3: my ass because I'm American, like they're not. They understand
[51:49] Speaker 3: there is a resistance movement here right there. Canadians aren't
[51:53] Speaker 3: blanket blaming all of us, I.
[51:55] Speaker 5: Hope not all of you. But the problem is that
[51:58] Speaker 5: that the versus the individual, you know what I mean? Yeah,
[52:03] Speaker 5: And I don't know what it is. We have a
[52:05] Speaker 5: group up here that thinks Trump, Olivier or Paul yev
[52:09] Speaker 5: are the greatest people going. And our premier is just
[52:12] Speaker 5: like your governor. She's holding his hand as far as
[52:15] Speaker 5: I'm concerned, and it just terrifies me. Yeah, anyway, brother,
[52:19] Speaker 5: you'd be safe when you get up here. Hopefully I
[52:22] Speaker 5: can get down there and perhaps we will have a
[52:24] Speaker 5: chance to have a beer.
[52:26] Speaker 3: All right, Dave, take care. We'll see you later. American
[52:30] Speaker 3: exceptionalism is thankfully dead, Alexis says came about from US
[52:36] Speaker 3: patting themselves on the bank for entering World War Two
[52:39] Speaker 3: at the eleventh hour, fifty ninth minute. I don't know
[52:41] Speaker 3: if that was that late in the game, no, but
[52:46] Speaker 3: it certainly did take Pearl Harbor to activate US. American
[52:53] Speaker 3: exceptionalism is such an emotional thing. Number one is a
[53:02] Speaker 3: home team, sort of a cheerleader. I mean, it's so thoughtless.
[53:09] Speaker 3: We decided in this country that it's true by declaration,
[53:13] Speaker 3: mostly because we didn't understand. Like when I was growing
[53:16] Speaker 3: up in a Christian nationalist environment, one nation under God,
[53:19] Speaker 3: we always thought we were the best in the first
[53:21] Speaker 3: but we didn't know anything about the rest of the world.
[53:25] Speaker 3: Natalie got into a and it wasn't an argument, but
[53:27] Speaker 3: it was close with a maga in her relative circle,
[53:33] Speaker 3: and she was like, well, what about this, and what
[53:34] Speaker 3: about the EU? And what about our allies who are
[53:37] Speaker 3: now locking us out of human rights discussions? And what
[53:40] Speaker 3: about what about And he just set it out right,
[53:43] Speaker 3: I don't care about the rest of the world. I
[53:45] Speaker 3: only care about America. Well, that's bred into people, I mean,
[53:53] Speaker 3: beyond the fact that it's you know, tribalism, which is
[53:56] Speaker 3: something we often see throughout the animal kingdom. You will
[54:00] Speaker 3: see family and groups in grouping outgrouping, social tribes and
[54:05] Speaker 3: tribal favoritism, tribal bias.
[54:08] Speaker 7: You know.
[54:08] Speaker 3: Some of that is evolutionary, but a lot of it
[54:11] Speaker 3: stems from just ignorance. We don't know anything about the
[54:13] Speaker 3: rest of the world, and we don't want to know.
[54:16] Speaker 3: We don't care. So another country has a better cost
[54:20] Speaker 3: of living, We're still number one. Another country is more peaceful,
[54:23] Speaker 3: less warlike. We're still number one. Another country has a
[54:26] Speaker 3: lower crime rate. We're still number one. It doesn't make
[54:31] Speaker 3: any difference what the metrics say. Somehow we freedom better
[54:35] Speaker 3: than other people freedom. Our freedom is more freedomy. It's
[54:40] Speaker 3: just sad. And then we become myopic.
[54:43] Speaker 10: You know.
[54:43] Speaker 3: I opened up my world when I began to see
[54:45] Speaker 3: myself as a citizen of the planet, and I was
[54:48] Speaker 3: reminded that the borders in this world were drawn subjectively
[54:52] Speaker 3: by people with their own agendas. Somebody somewhere partitioned out
[54:56] Speaker 3: this piece of land, and somehow the person standing four
[54:59] Speaker 3: feet on the other the side of that dotted line,
[55:01] Speaker 3: they're less and they're less important. Maybe even they're less human.
[55:07] Speaker 3: You see it in that context, it really does, I
[55:11] Speaker 3: don't know, it really does open things up. Five one three.
[55:18] Speaker 3: I don't see a name. What do I call you?
[55:20] Speaker 12: Yeah, my name is Jim, Hi, Jim.
[55:22] Speaker 3: Appreciate you waiting on me. What's on your mind today?
[55:25] Speaker 4: Right?
[55:26] Speaker 12: Well, first off, I just wanted to thank you personally
[55:28] Speaker 12: for giving those of us that don't have a platform
[55:31] Speaker 12: or voice, let's speak for us, and that we all
[55:35] Speaker 12: agree with or at least for the most part. I'm
[55:38] Speaker 12: LGBTQ in Cincinnati. I live My father lives with me.
[55:43] Speaker 12: He's like ninety three and hardcore Republicans ever since he
[55:49] Speaker 12: was born. I guess most of my family's very religious,
[55:52] Speaker 12: but I got one brother in particular, he's, you know,
[55:54] Speaker 12: a little thicker than the others. I think I'm just
[55:58] Speaker 12: mad at all of them for not taking my side
[56:03] Speaker 12: at all, for looking at it and thinking, you know,
[56:07] Speaker 12: I don't count enough to cast a vote in a
[56:11] Speaker 12: different directions. And another part of it is that I'm
[56:16] Speaker 12: angry at the ones that didn't even bother to vote,
[56:18] Speaker 12: who were registered. You know, I don't think anybody's talking
[56:22] Speaker 12: enough about that. There were people that didn't bother to
[56:24] Speaker 12: participate who are perfectly able to. And I just want
[56:28] Speaker 12: to pack my things and leave. And that's kind of
[56:31] Speaker 12: on my itineraries to get out of here as fast
[56:33] Speaker 12: as I can. But I'm waiting, you know, think for
[56:35] Speaker 12: better opportunities, and it's not always easy. You can't just
[56:38] Speaker 12: pack your bags and go.
[56:40] Speaker 3: I just looked it up on US News and World Report.
[56:44] Speaker 3: More than one hundred and fifty million Americans did not
[56:47] Speaker 3: go and cast a vote in twenty twenty four. It
[56:52] Speaker 3: blows my mind.
[56:53] Speaker 12: It's crazy.
[56:56] Speaker 3: I understand how you feel invalidated if members of my
[57:01] Speaker 3: family vote for a dictator. I want to be king
[57:06] Speaker 3: aligned with Christian nationalists favoring a single religion in contrast
[57:11] Speaker 3: to the intent of the founding and propagating harm to
[57:16] Speaker 3: the causes and people I care about, and I know
[57:19] Speaker 3: they voted for that. I feel personally betrayed. That's how
[57:23] Speaker 3: you feel, right, yeah, yeah, And then like builds up, right,
[57:31] Speaker 3: you feel resentful. How dare you? How could you? Don't
[57:35] Speaker 3: you understand? And then you feel totally invalidated, and you
[57:39] Speaker 3: don't want to spend time in their company because they've
[57:43] Speaker 3: they're no longer on your side.
[57:45] Speaker 1: Oh.
[57:45] Speaker 12: Absolutely, it's it's if you're not with me, you're against
[57:48] Speaker 12: me at this point.
[57:50] Speaker 3: So do you have a connection or have you distanced yourselves?
[57:53] Speaker 3: I know we and our family have distanced ourselves. We
[57:56] Speaker 3: just we just like you know how.
[57:58] Speaker 9: I haven't to.
[58:01] Speaker 12: It hasn't been too difficult to distance myself. But you know,
[58:04] Speaker 12: I'm taking care of my dad, which is you know,
[58:07] Speaker 12: there's no one else the wonderful Christians that they are here,
[58:11] Speaker 12: I am taking care of them.
[58:12] Speaker 3: Well, left it up to the atheist to go in
[58:15] Speaker 3: and wow, yeah exactly.
[58:19] Speaker 12: But that's really all I wanted to say. You know,
[58:21] Speaker 12: I just I know I'm not the only one, but
[58:22] Speaker 12: I just don't hear people talking about it, you know,
[58:25] Speaker 12: the ones that didn't even bother and it kills me.
[58:28] Speaker 3: Okay, well, let me chew you on that for a second.
[58:31] Speaker 3: The problem is, you know, people say stuff and then
[58:33] Speaker 3: my little pea brain starts to you know, activate, and
[58:36] Speaker 3: then I say something that may be intelligent or really stupid.
[58:39] Speaker 3: Let's find out next. But I appreciate your call. Thanks
[58:42] Speaker 3: so much for being a Thanks so much for being.
[58:44] Speaker 12: A part of this my call. I appreciate it.
[58:46] Speaker 3: All right, We'll see you later. So what countries have
[58:50] Speaker 3: mandated voting, where if you're a citizen, you were required
[58:54] Speaker 3: by law to cast to vote. And I've had this conversation,
[58:59] Speaker 3: should we mandate voting? If you're going to be a
[59:04] Speaker 3: citizen of this country, you have a responsibility. And I
[59:09] Speaker 3: become two people. One person says, damn skippy, if you
[59:14] Speaker 3: are a citizen, get your ass out and vote. And
[59:19] Speaker 3: then I flip and I say, the epidemic of disinformation, ignorance,
[59:26] Speaker 3: and bigotry in this country. Do I really want the
[59:29] Speaker 3: people who were opting out in the first place to
[59:32] Speaker 3: go in and lend their voice? Are they Are these
[59:36] Speaker 3: the votes that we really wish to count in a
[59:40] Speaker 3: culture where people doubt basic science. They might think the
[59:44] Speaker 3: Earth is flat or that we didn't land on the moon,
[59:47] Speaker 3: you know, the Joe Roganites, Do we really want them
[59:51] Speaker 3: to be like, yeah, man, I guess I gotta go vote. Now,
[59:56] Speaker 3: where's the polling place? Hopefully GPS will get me there. Yeah,
[1:00:00] Speaker 3: I don't know where I'm going. People who sit around
[1:00:04] Speaker 3: all day and get their information about the world from Newsmax,
[1:00:09] Speaker 3: dot Freedom, dot Egle, dot Trump, Dotmerica dot com. Do
[1:00:13] Speaker 3: I really want those people casting a vote. I mean,
[1:00:15] Speaker 3: I guess that's the dark side of the democratic process.
[1:00:18] Speaker 3: Everybody has a voice. The good side is everybody has
[1:00:21] Speaker 3: a voice. The bad side is everybody's got a voice.
[1:00:24] Speaker 3: It's terrifying. So I go back and forth. Mandated voting, Yes,
[1:00:28] Speaker 3: you have a responsibility, and then the other side is,
[1:00:32] Speaker 3: oh my god, do I really want these people participating?
[1:00:37] Speaker 3: Do they get to sit at the adult table or
[1:00:40] Speaker 3: should we put them out over there? There's the little
[1:00:43] Speaker 3: card table with the plastic kiddy chairs of multiple colors.
[1:00:47] Speaker 3: Will give you clay and crayons, will give you amusements.
[1:00:54] Speaker 3: And then whenever we are done having the adult discussion
[1:00:57] Speaker 3: and making adult decisions, then we'll everybody in the minivan
[1:01:01] Speaker 3: and will go someplace happy. I don't know. I don't know.
[1:01:07] Speaker 3: Do you think we should have mandatory voting? I don't know.
[1:01:11] Speaker 3: I'm two people, two people, much more conversation to be had,
[1:01:20] Speaker 3: and we will continue right after this. Thanks for your
[1:01:29] Speaker 3: support on Patreon, you get the show early and commercial free.
[1:01:33] Speaker 3: Most people just support because they want to support the show,
[1:01:36] Speaker 3: and you can as well Patreon dot com. Slash Seth
[1:01:41] Speaker 3: Andrews Ray is calling area code three oh one.
[1:01:48] Speaker 5: You with me?
[1:01:49] Speaker 3: Yes, that's how are you doing. I'm well, let's talk
[1:01:52] Speaker 3: what's on your mind.
[1:01:54] Speaker 14: Earlier you were talking about the people who say government
[1:01:57] Speaker 14: should be run like a business.
[1:02:00] Speaker 5: Talk about that, because.
[1:02:02] Speaker 14: If we were to grant that Trump is running it
[1:02:06] Speaker 14: what he thinks a business is and Musk, they don't
[1:02:11] Speaker 14: have any value for goodwill, which is really essential for
[1:02:14] Speaker 14: a business. Even to say we're running it like a business.
[1:02:17] Speaker 14: They're running it like a terrible business, a business that
[1:02:20] Speaker 14: will fail. And I just wanted to kind of put
[1:02:23] Speaker 14: that out there. How these businessmen and these people who
[1:02:26] Speaker 14: support this idea don't value goodwill, which is like something
[1:02:30] Speaker 14: you learn in business school that it is important.
[1:02:32] Speaker 3: Well, let me make sure I understand you. Ray, That's
[1:02:35] Speaker 3: all I do. Say a business serves its customer base,
[1:02:38] Speaker 3: and a happy customer means that customer benefits from the
[1:02:41] Speaker 3: product and they then return and become loyal customers. So,
[1:02:46] Speaker 3: if we were forced to use a business attitude about
[1:02:50] Speaker 3: the government, the government wants a well fulfilled, well served,
[1:02:55] Speaker 3: and happy customer. Is that kind of what you're saying. Yeah,
[1:02:59] Speaker 3: that's pretty close.
[1:03:00] Speaker 14: Not only a happy customer, but a reliable vendor too.
[1:03:04] Speaker 14: If you're getting parts from somewhere. You want them to
[1:03:07] Speaker 14: know that you're going to pay them for those parts.
[1:03:08] Speaker 14: You need a reliability and stability in your relationships. That's
[1:03:12] Speaker 14: part of good will too.
[1:03:13] Speaker 3: That's interesting, I guess if we had to, And again,
[1:03:16] Speaker 3: I know what angle you're taking. Again. You and I
[1:03:19] Speaker 3: don't think governments are businesses, but I like the angle,
[1:03:23] Speaker 3: oh hell, that a government certainly is serving a let's
[1:03:27] Speaker 3: call it a client base, even though we're taxpayers and
[1:03:29] Speaker 3: the government is supposed to serve us. But even if
[1:03:31] Speaker 3: you reverse that model, it's doing a piss poor job
[1:03:34] Speaker 3: of having happy customers, well served and earning client loyalty. Yeah,
[1:03:42] Speaker 3: all right, thanks for interjecting and taking a little time
[1:03:45] Speaker 3: out of your day. Take care of yourself, you too, Thanks,
[1:03:48] Speaker 3: see you later. White Ravens said, I think Trump is
[1:03:51] Speaker 3: actively trying to start World War three. Trump has the
[1:03:58] Speaker 3: weak man's perception of what's this. There's one thing to
[1:04:02] Speaker 3: use strength, to build, to create, to defend, to protect.
[1:04:09] Speaker 3: You use whatever strength you have to be a pro social, positive, constructive, laudable, admirable,
[1:04:18] Speaker 3: honorable force in this world. And then there's this sort
[1:04:22] Speaker 3: of perception of manhood where you got to go out
[1:04:25] Speaker 3: and conquer the week. And you know, Trump's always separating
[1:04:28] Speaker 3: people into the week and the strong, the winners, and
[1:04:30] Speaker 3: the losers. I mean, just count the number of times
[1:04:32] Speaker 3: he's called his enemies weak or small. And I think,
[1:04:35] Speaker 3: in his mind, conquerors conquer, and so oh yeah, gimme Greenland,
[1:04:41] Speaker 3: give me the Panama can Yeah, Canada, let's make that
[1:04:44] Speaker 3: the fifty first state, because in his mind, I think
[1:04:47] Speaker 3: he wants his legacy to be one of the conqueror
[1:04:51] Speaker 3: who expanded territory, no matter how laughable it is. You're like,
[1:04:55] Speaker 3: Jesus Christ is Canada. What are you thinking? But in
[1:04:58] Speaker 3: his mind, he's like, wow, look at all that anchorage.
[1:05:01] Speaker 3: When he's talking about taking Gaza essentially ethnically cleansing Gaza
[1:05:06] Speaker 3: and turning the whole place into Trump resort, you know,
[1:05:10] Speaker 3: saying this, he sees that conquerors must conquer, and so
[1:05:15] Speaker 3: he's looking around for shit that he can acquire and
[1:05:17] Speaker 3: then put his brand on. Robin at six oh five, Hi,
[1:05:24] Speaker 3: thanks for calling, Hey, sis, I can Robin, let's talk.
[1:05:29] Speaker 3: What's on your mind?
[1:05:31] Speaker 13: Well, I just mention in chat where I go about
[1:05:34] Speaker 13: third party voting. I just cannot believe that people have
[1:05:37] Speaker 13: not realized that right now we've got you were either
[1:05:41] Speaker 13: going to be on this side or that side. You
[1:05:43] Speaker 13: cannot be voting for third parties. We've got to have
[1:05:46] Speaker 13: some kind of unification of resistance. And I know everyb
[1:05:51] Speaker 13: he's mad as Democrats, pursumer and everything. And I kind
[1:05:55] Speaker 13: of thought about this a little bit, and I listened
[1:05:57] Speaker 13: to a few podcasts on this, and maybe now it's
[1:06:01] Speaker 13: not the time for humor to make that stand, you know.
[1:06:04] Speaker 13: I mean, there may be a time later when this
[1:06:06] Speaker 13: resistance is stronger, that it's time to fight this Bending
[1:06:10] Speaker 13: bill is only good for six months, so you know
[1:06:13] Speaker 13: we're going to do this again in September. And so
[1:06:17] Speaker 13: I just I don't know that Timber necessarily made the
[1:06:20] Speaker 13: bad choice. Right this time in this country, we have
[1:06:24] Speaker 13: the chance of winning the two people. It's either a
[1:06:27] Speaker 13: Democrat or a reprebilent Goods going to win. It's not
[1:06:29] Speaker 13: our party candidate that's gonna win, not for not for
[1:06:32] Speaker 13: a major part in a major election. Ye, and we
[1:06:36] Speaker 13: have to either stand against the Republicans or for them
[1:06:40] Speaker 13: one or the other. You have to be on one
[1:06:41] Speaker 13: side or the other.
[1:06:43] Speaker 3: You bring to the four the reality that more than
[1:06:46] Speaker 3: one thing can be true at the same time, where
[1:06:49] Speaker 3: right now the perfect is the enemy of the good,
[1:06:52] Speaker 3: or right now the goods the enemy of the evil.
[1:06:55] Speaker 3: But we can still be pissed at the Democrats. And
[1:06:58] Speaker 3: I'm a Democrat. I read this Democrat, I'm pissed. I'm
[1:07:02] Speaker 3: mad at my party. Where the hell's the backbone, where's
[1:07:05] Speaker 3: the organization, where's the mounted resistance? And that can be true.
[1:07:10] Speaker 3: And I can also say the only way this gets
[1:07:14] Speaker 3: courts corrected is if you support the only party that
[1:07:17] Speaker 3: has a shot defeating them in the future. And it
[1:07:20] Speaker 3: ain't Green Party, and it's not an independent, it's not
[1:07:22] Speaker 3: some pie in the sky protest to vote out there.
[1:07:26] Speaker 13: I feel like that the third party vote, you know,
[1:07:28] Speaker 13: the protest voting didn't work, and I just can't believe
[1:07:31] Speaker 13: that anybody would think that it would. I mean, after
[1:07:34] Speaker 13: what we saw happened, you know in this last election,
[1:07:37] Speaker 13: we need all of the Democrats, We need all of
[1:07:40] Speaker 13: the people who care about America. We need all of
[1:07:43] Speaker 13: them to vote against the Republicans.
[1:07:46] Speaker 3: I'm all right, preach and thank you and take care
[1:07:50] Speaker 3: and we'll see you later.
[1:07:51] Speaker 10: Thank you.
[1:07:51] Speaker 3: Sale all right, looks like I have another third party call.
[1:07:55] Speaker 3: It is Lucy at four eight zero high and Lucy,
[1:07:58] Speaker 3: what's up?
[1:08:00] Speaker 7: I said, thank you so much for bringing up this topic. Yeah,
[1:08:05] Speaker 7: this real quickly, I can give you okay, real quick.
[1:08:10] Speaker 7: So my background is I was raised in a cult.
[1:08:13] Speaker 7: I was this fellowship from that cult. I have had
[1:08:16] Speaker 7: to lose three generations of family to religion. So I
[1:08:20] Speaker 7: also am an assault survivor and I will never vote
[1:08:26] Speaker 7: for a rapist. And unfortunately, the Democrats put up an
[1:08:32] Speaker 7: individual who had a credible assault charge against him. So
[1:08:36] Speaker 7: what are you going to do for people like me?
[1:08:39] Speaker 3: Biden's assault charge was what.
[1:08:44] Speaker 7: Credible?
[1:08:45] Speaker 3: Yeah?
[1:08:45] Speaker 10: I know that he was accused.
[1:08:51] Speaker 3: He was accused of what and when.
[1:08:55] Speaker 7: He was accused of sexual harassment in the workplace by
[1:09:00] Speaker 7: terror Reid.
[1:09:04] Speaker 3: I know that there were narratives about him being like
[1:09:08] Speaker 3: a creepy hair sniffing kind of dude. I saw all that,
[1:09:12] Speaker 3: and those were that was just mere propaganda. But forgive
[1:09:18] Speaker 3: me for not being more well versed in this accusation.
[1:09:23] Speaker 3: I would be interested, certainly to know if there was
[1:09:26] Speaker 3: a credible accusation. I want to know who the accuser is.
[1:09:28] Speaker 3: I want to know the context and who broadcast it.
[1:09:31] Speaker 3: But when Biden switched to Kamala when Biden switched then
[1:09:36] Speaker 3: and it became Kamala who was a strong, qualified black
[1:09:40] Speaker 3: female representing the party. Would that have been a more
[1:09:44] Speaker 3: palatable choice for you?
[1:09:48] Speaker 7: Yes, However, the way that the DNC ran it and
[1:09:53] Speaker 7: just chose to appoint her instead of allowing the constituents
[1:09:58] Speaker 7: to make that choice in a primary seems a little
[1:10:01] Speaker 7: authoritarian to me.
[1:10:03] Speaker 11: What do you think?
[1:10:04] Speaker 3: Well, was your vote a protest vote about someone accused
[1:10:08] Speaker 3: of sexual misconduct or was it an authoritarian vote an
[1:10:12] Speaker 3: anti authoritarian vote?
[1:10:15] Speaker 4: My?
[1:10:16] Speaker 10: Oh, it was neither.
[1:10:18] Speaker 7: My vote was for a candidate that I thought would
[1:10:22] Speaker 7: actually represented what I believe our country should be offering
[1:10:27] Speaker 7: its working class citizens.
[1:10:31] Speaker 3: Well, then yours is a disagreement from the Democratic Party
[1:10:35] Speaker 3: on philosophy. But do you see the Democrats as equal
[1:10:44] Speaker 3: or as evil as what's happening now in the dismantling
[1:10:49] Speaker 3: of democracy and the assault on our allies, whether it's
[1:10:52] Speaker 3: non Christians, LGBT people, immigrants, the rest of the world.
[1:10:57] Speaker 3: I mean, do you see these as equal? Do you
[1:11:00] Speaker 3: feel like that this was worth a protest vote? Yeah?
[1:11:08] Speaker 7: Absolutely I do, and thank you for the question. Because
[1:11:13] Speaker 7: Democrats continue to put up anti abortion candidates like Collier
[1:11:18] Speaker 7: in Texas, Democrats are not the answer for working class citizens.
[1:11:23] Speaker 7: And I have friends that live in Texas, and so
[1:11:28] Speaker 7: when Democrat leadership decides to support a candidate who does
[1:11:33] Speaker 7: not hold Democrat values, that is a problem in my book,
[1:11:38] Speaker 7: and I won't vote for them if they continue to
[1:11:42] Speaker 7: put up candidates who actually harm us.
[1:11:47] Speaker 3: Okay, well, from what I can tell, and forgive me,
[1:11:50] Speaker 3: this is just a first blush, but apparently Tara Reid
[1:11:56] Speaker 3: has a history of making false statements about where she lived,
[1:12:02] Speaker 3: what she did, what her credibility was, what her credentials were,
[1:12:06] Speaker 3: and then she defected to Russia. So do you do
[1:12:12] Speaker 3: any of those give you concern?
[1:12:18] Speaker 7: You know, not at all, not at all, because it
[1:12:21] Speaker 7: didn't My vote for Biden was irrelevant. Even if I
[1:12:28] Speaker 7: could have voted for Biden in the last election, the
[1:12:32] Speaker 7: DNC decided not to.
[1:12:35] Speaker 13: And that.
[1:12:37] Speaker 7: Screams authoritary. I don't know why you're not also upset
[1:12:42] Speaker 7: about that that they just deleted the primary and appointed
[1:12:46] Speaker 7: a queen.
[1:12:47] Speaker 3: Well she wasn't though, I mean, if you think about
[1:12:50] Speaker 3: what Kamala would have done, and I'm going to finish
[1:12:55] Speaker 3: this sentence, did the.
[1:12:56] Speaker 7: Democrats run a primary that I don't know about.
[1:12:58] Speaker 3: They did not run a primary, but there was a
[1:13:02] Speaker 3: candidate in place who was not running on the dismantling
[1:13:06] Speaker 3: of democracy and becoming a king. Right, the platform is
[1:13:11] Speaker 3: what we're voting for, right, which is why I would
[1:13:14] Speaker 3: have voted for Biden, even though he was a terrible candidate,
[1:13:18] Speaker 3: because I'm voting for the platform. I'm voting for the
[1:13:21] Speaker 3: platform that wants to do student loan forgiveness, that sees
[1:13:24] Speaker 3: us as a citizen of the world, that wants to
[1:13:26] Speaker 3: protect LGBT rights and isn't vilifying trans people, and wants
[1:13:29] Speaker 3: to protect gay marriage and a woman's right to choose,
[1:13:32] Speaker 3: and the legalization of recreational drugs without vilifying people who
[1:13:36] Speaker 3: use them. Blah blah, blah blah blah. This is a platform.
[1:13:39] Speaker 3: This is an entire culture that I don't see as
[1:13:43] Speaker 3: remotely equivalent to what we are seeing now in Trump
[1:13:45] Speaker 3: is Stan. We are watching the wholesale, rapid fire, systematic
[1:13:50] Speaker 3: dismantling of everything that the United States is supposed to
[1:13:53] Speaker 3: represent under a king or a self appointed king and
[1:13:57] Speaker 3: his I guess co king who has given a bunch
[1:14:01] Speaker 3: of college kids access to yours and mind entire financial future,
[1:14:06] Speaker 3: the power to wreck everything. Right, this is not remotely equivalent. Agree,
[1:14:11] Speaker 3: So because third party gets us nowhere, per third party
[1:14:16] Speaker 3: only enables the Republican party.
[1:14:19] Speaker 13: Right.
[1:14:20] Speaker 3: The idea that we would not say, okay, well one
[1:14:22] Speaker 3: platform versus the other is one is better than the other.
[1:14:27] Speaker 3: That's the discussion that we have to have. I didn't
[1:14:30] Speaker 3: Kamala didn't run as a queen. Kamala ran as a
[1:14:33] Speaker 3: candidate and on a platform that is more egalitarian.
[1:14:38] Speaker 7: Commercials, they were trying to make her a queen.
[1:14:41] Speaker 3: No, I didn't see anything. I didn't see your posting
[1:14:44] Speaker 3: pictures of herself and a crown. I didn't see her
[1:14:47] Speaker 3: talking about her as much as she talked about all
[1:14:50] Speaker 3: of us.
[1:14:54] Speaker 7: All Right, I just want to respond. You did bring
[1:14:58] Speaker 7: up quite a few different things, but I just want
[1:15:00] Speaker 7: respond on the one thing, which is you are voting
[1:15:05] Speaker 7: for a platform, but the voters when I go and vote,
[1:15:10] Speaker 7: I have to actually vote for a person who I
[1:15:14] Speaker 7: believe will go into government and do the things that
[1:15:19] Speaker 7: I want them to do. However, the Democrats do not
[1:15:24] Speaker 7: put up candidates who reflect working class needs, desires, want
[1:15:32] Speaker 7: whatever you want to name them. The individuals that they
[1:15:37] Speaker 7: put up won't actually do the things that even you
[1:15:42] Speaker 7: just stated. Biden had a chance to cancel student debt
[1:15:46] Speaker 7: a few years ago, and he didn't do it.
[1:15:49] Speaker 3: No, no, no, that's an incomplete that's an incomplete claim.
[1:15:53] Speaker 3: He was He put it up on several occasions and
[1:15:57] Speaker 3: attempted to make it happen, and was the ward by
[1:16:01] Speaker 3: the Republican Party that a third party vote enables. Right,
[1:16:06] Speaker 3: his goal was to do it. He was on the
[1:16:09] Speaker 3: front lines for doing it. Let me ask you this.
[1:16:12] Speaker 3: Kamala Harris starts in a low to middle class family,
[1:16:16] Speaker 3: climbs up through the ranks, puts herself through law school,
[1:16:19] Speaker 3: and ends up being attorney general in one of the
[1:16:21] Speaker 3: largest states of the Union. Right, so tell me how
[1:16:25] Speaker 3: this makes her a queen. Tell me how her saying
[1:16:28] Speaker 3: that we are all in this together, we all are
[1:16:31] Speaker 3: Americans trying to She actually spoken very I say, conciliatory language,
[1:16:37] Speaker 3: trying to bring the parties together, whether or not strategically
[1:16:40] Speaker 3: that was smart or not. But when she spoke, it
[1:16:42] Speaker 3: wasn't me, me me. Donald Trump takes the stage and
[1:16:46] Speaker 3: he says, I alone can fix it. I'm the smartest
[1:16:49] Speaker 3: I know more, I'm the one I'm the King. None
[1:16:51] Speaker 3: of that language came out of Kamala Harris. So I'm
[1:16:54] Speaker 3: trying to understand where this perception of her as the
[1:16:57] Speaker 3: authoritarian queen comes from.
[1:17:02] Speaker 10: Oh, she didn't have.
[1:17:04] Speaker 7: To say it, because the DNC just refused to listen
[1:17:07] Speaker 7: to their voters. The DNC actually went to court in
[1:17:10] Speaker 7: twenty sixteen, Seth, and they said, we are a corporation.
[1:17:15] Speaker 7: We don't have to listen to our voters. Please look
[1:17:17] Speaker 7: it up, everybody, please look it up. The DNC not
[1:17:21] Speaker 7: listen to its voters. So why would I vote for
[1:17:24] Speaker 7: Democrats who don't listen to my vote?
[1:17:28] Speaker 3: All right, well, I'll do my due diligence and look
[1:17:33] Speaker 3: for that quote that at the moment is unsourced and
[1:17:39] Speaker 3: see if someone in the Democratic Party said that. But again,
[1:17:43] Speaker 3: I mean, if you want to anecdote me, great. I'm
[1:17:45] Speaker 3: talking about the entire platform, which I see as one
[1:17:50] Speaker 3: that more represents us, that more supports in America, that
[1:17:53] Speaker 3: looks like all of us and not just one person,
[1:17:56] Speaker 3: and is not hero worship. And I think third party
[1:18:00] Speaker 3: voting enabled the authoritarian and the enemy of democracy that
[1:18:04] Speaker 3: is happening today. But I hear you, I appreciate you.
[1:18:08] Speaker 3: I promise you. I give you my word that I
[1:18:12] Speaker 3: will do. I will do my due diligence, and I
[1:18:15] Speaker 3: will explore the claims that you have made. And all
[1:18:19] Speaker 3: I ask is that perhaps you do the same.
[1:18:21] Speaker 10: Okay, Yeah, absolutely, have a good one.
[1:18:25] Speaker 3: Thank you appreciate it. Let's see zombie reushu who is
[1:18:37] Speaker 3: calling on the web? Zombie? I just like saying that
[1:18:41] Speaker 3: when I talk to Collers, welcome, what's going on?
[1:18:46] Speaker 10: Good to hear from you again? Can you hear me? Fine?
[1:18:49] Speaker 3: You called me good to hear from you? What's going on? Zombie?
[1:18:54] Speaker 10: I wanted to Well, first of all, I disagree profoundly
[1:18:58] Speaker 10: with that lady. She does and know what she's talking about.
[1:19:01] Speaker 10: We did have a Democratic primary, Biden and Kamala Harris.
[1:19:06] Speaker 10: We were overwhelmingly and I do mean overwhelmingly one victories
[1:19:13] Speaker 10: in their in their primary. The only the only reason
[1:19:17] Speaker 10: that that we wound up with Kamala Harris as the
[1:19:19] Speaker 10: main candidate and she had to pick a pick a
[1:19:23] Speaker 10: VP after the fact was because the Democratic Party pushed
[1:19:26] Speaker 10: Biden out because he was too old.
[1:19:28] Speaker 3: Well, I think, I mean it was a package deal.
[1:19:32] Speaker 3: I think when you voted for the for Biden, you
[1:19:35] Speaker 3: were voting.
[1:19:35] Speaker 10: For the primary. Yeah, yes, I understand, and I voted
[1:19:41] Speaker 10: for Kamala Harris happily, proudly. I I I do not
[1:19:45] Speaker 10: regret my vote, my vote for one in one for
[1:19:49] Speaker 10: one moment, and I would vote for Kamala Harris again.
[1:19:54] Speaker 10: I don't think she'll run again. But still that's not
[1:19:57] Speaker 10: actually the main thing, the thing that I called it. Okay,
[1:20:00] Speaker 10: what did you grow up watching Babylon five.
[1:20:04] Speaker 3: Oh, you're gonna get me in trouble. No, I was
[1:20:06] Speaker 3: a Star Trek next Gen, but not a Babylon five viewers.
[1:20:10] Speaker 3: So you're going to have to babysit me through whatever
[1:20:12] Speaker 3: you're about to say next.
[1:20:14] Speaker 10: Okay, okay, this is unfortunate. Unfortunately, President Trump's coup very
[1:20:22] Speaker 10: strongly resembles that of President Clark's coup on Earth in
[1:20:27] Speaker 10: Babylon five extremely closely. I've heard Jake bro who is
[1:20:32] Speaker 10: a pro Unit Ukrainian YouTuber, and I apologize if what
[1:20:36] Speaker 10: I'm saying comes out as gibberish. It's part of my disability.
[1:20:39] Speaker 10: I have sirbral palsy, So bear with me.
[1:20:42] Speaker 3: You're doing five. Start at the beginning. So there is
[1:20:45] Speaker 3: a character in Babylon five who came to power in
[1:20:50] Speaker 3: a way that you think is much like how Trump
[1:20:52] Speaker 3: has come to power.
[1:20:55] Speaker 10: Exactly. It's it's almost it's almost beat for beat, with
[1:20:59] Speaker 10: the exception of in being trans people. It's it's actual
[1:21:02] Speaker 10: space aliens. And there actually is a trans kind of
[1:21:07] Speaker 10: metaphor in Babylon five because one of the primary female
[1:21:10] Speaker 10: cast members, because who is born of a member of
[1:21:14] Speaker 10: a purely alien species called the Mimbari, becomes a half
[1:21:20] Speaker 10: human Mimbari hybrid.
[1:21:24] Speaker 3: Wow. So all right, to make sure I'm tracking, there
[1:21:31] Speaker 3: were there was a state of emergency declared against the other,
[1:21:35] Speaker 3: and the other had come to essentially ruin the party,
[1:21:38] Speaker 3: and so the authoritarian scared him, scared everybody into voting
[1:21:42] Speaker 3: him into power, and then he ruled with an iron fist.
[1:21:45] Speaker 3: Am I close?
[1:21:47] Speaker 10: There are some yes, there there are some differences, okay,
[1:21:51] Speaker 10: But the President Clark rose to power. He was actually
[1:21:55] Speaker 10: elected vice President of Earth. His original the president above
[1:22:01] Speaker 10: him was was named Louis Santiago. Three years into Louis
[1:22:05] Speaker 10: Santiago's term, uh President Clark planned had mister Morden, who
[1:22:13] Speaker 10: was one of the who was one of the Shadows associates,
[1:22:16] Speaker 10: planned a bomb on Earth Force one and blew him
[1:22:19] Speaker 10: up on while he was visited, while he was scheduled
[1:22:24] Speaker 10: to take a trip to Io. He was then inaugurated
[1:22:26] Speaker 10: as president. He was only supposed to serve out one
[1:22:30] Speaker 10: year and then a new election was held. However, a
[1:22:35] Speaker 10: shadow vessel was discovered buried on Mars and as a
[1:22:38] Speaker 10: result of that, as a result of that, President Clark
[1:22:43] Speaker 10: issued a decree declaring he then convened it he can.
[1:22:48] Speaker 10: He then convened a session of the Senate in Geneva, Switzerland.
[1:22:54] Speaker 10: And when he did the and and and when he
[1:22:56] Speaker 10: did that, there was a When he did that, he
[1:23:00] Speaker 10: orchestrated a coup where he had the where he had
[1:23:02] Speaker 10: the capitol building attacked by his supporters wielding guns and
[1:23:06] Speaker 10: shot most of the senators. Some of them got away,
[1:23:09] Speaker 10: but a lot of them died.
[1:23:11] Speaker 3: Okay, hm, that's that's fascinating.
[1:23:16] Speaker 5: The go ahead, uh he uh.
[1:23:23] Speaker 10: He took over his ultra conservative viewpoints, then took over
[1:23:27] Speaker 10: the media. He had, he had his storm. He actually
[1:23:32] Speaker 10: had kind of like we had Maga here. He had
[1:23:35] Speaker 10: an organization, a quasi non governmental organization called the night Watch,
[1:23:41] Speaker 10: which was very which was full of just racist and fascist,
[1:23:46] Speaker 10: although in this case, instead of being racist and fascist
[1:23:49] Speaker 10: against the brown brown people. They were racist and fascists
[1:23:52] Speaker 10: against space, against actual space aliens, as in people from
[1:23:56] Speaker 10: other planet who were living on Earth at the time.
[1:24:00] Speaker 3: I may have to come back and watch reruns of
[1:24:02] Speaker 3: Babylon five. I was again, I was next gen, a
[1:24:06] Speaker 3: little bit of voyager.
[1:24:08] Speaker 7: I understand.
[1:24:09] Speaker 3: Don't crucify me.
[1:24:11] Speaker 4: But.
[1:24:13] Speaker 10: Yeah, I understand Babylon. This generation is very europe and
[1:24:21] Speaker 10: social democracy centric, where post co up is very post
[1:24:25] Speaker 10: capitalistic social social democracy, where there is Earth is ruled
[1:24:31] Speaker 10: by a prime minister and there's like there's proportional representation
[1:24:38] Speaker 10: and free elections, and there's both a prime minister and
[1:24:43] Speaker 10: a president. So it looks like France or the European Union.
[1:24:46] Speaker 10: That's the model of That's the model of Star Trekt.
[1:24:48] Speaker 10: The next generation Earth in Babylon five is very much
[1:24:52] Speaker 10: the US. It's there's just a president, only a Senate,
[1:24:57] Speaker 10: and but no House of representa natives and only a
[1:25:02] Speaker 10: and a and a judiciary branch.
[1:25:06] Speaker 3: My Ron, Well, we could probably talk about that. You
[1:25:08] Speaker 3: can probably educate me on five seasons of Babylon how
[1:25:11] Speaker 3: many many seasons there were, But all I can say
[1:25:13] Speaker 3: is that's there were five. It's interesting to me, And
[1:25:17] Speaker 3: uh yeah, I'd like to see what other people in
[1:25:19] Speaker 3: the comments have to say about that link. And that's
[1:25:22] Speaker 3: fascinating stuff often sci fi. I think it provides great
[1:25:25] Speaker 3: commentary on society and history.
[1:25:29] Speaker 10: It does, that's one of the things. Because one of
[1:25:31] Speaker 10: the things that frightens me about this is President Clark
[1:25:35] Speaker 10: didn't lose. He did manage to take over Earth and
[1:25:39] Speaker 10: and he started bombing Mars. Okay he I mean he
[1:25:46] Speaker 10: he didn't. His coup was a success. It took him
[1:25:50] Speaker 10: a long time to do it. It took him. But
[1:25:55] Speaker 10: here here's the thing. Earth lived under martial law for
[1:25:59] Speaker 10: three or four years before before he was finally toppled.
[1:26:05] Speaker 3: Interesting, and I will look into maybe when I'm on
[1:26:09] Speaker 3: a plane, I will download some episodes and and give
[1:26:12] Speaker 3: it a shot. Zombie, So.
[1:26:19] Speaker 10: I think that you could learn a lot from it.
[1:26:20] Speaker 10: Because here's the thing. I'm actually scared that we're pretty
[1:26:24] Speaker 10: much done for when it comes to Trump. And I
[1:26:27] Speaker 10: think that that lady who called earlier was completely delusional
[1:26:33] Speaker 10: because again I had absolutely no reservations voting for Kamala Harris.
[1:26:39] Speaker 10: My the thing is is that this is actually this,
[1:26:42] Speaker 10: this whole situation has broken up my family, my I
[1:26:46] Speaker 10: mean my if my if my father was still alive,
[1:26:50] Speaker 10: we would have already fled the country by now, my my,
[1:26:54] Speaker 10: I mean my father probably would have been purged in
[1:26:56] Speaker 10: the doge if you were again, if if if he
[1:27:00] Speaker 10: were still alive, he would have been purged in the
[1:27:01] Speaker 10: dose because he was a government employee. He was a
[1:27:04] Speaker 10: he was a doctor that worked for a that worked
[1:27:06] Speaker 10: for an army hospital. So I mean my dad would
[1:27:13] Speaker 10: have would have I mean, this would be a six
[1:27:16] Speaker 10: alarm if there is such a thing as a six
[1:27:17] Speaker 10: alarm fire, I don't have heard his place. We would
[1:27:21] Speaker 10: all my dad would have already you know, sold the houses,
[1:27:24] Speaker 10: moved to him and gotten us to Canada or something
[1:27:26] Speaker 10: like that. I'm trying to do so independently, to to
[1:27:30] Speaker 10: try to leave the country for the US, and I
[1:27:32] Speaker 10: have failed thus far. Okay, but my dad, my dad
[1:27:37] Speaker 10: would have my dad would have been absolutely livid had
[1:27:41] Speaker 10: he seen had he lived to see this future, I
[1:27:44] Speaker 10: mean he and because we sat there back in the
[1:27:48] Speaker 10: nineties and watched the Babylon five together, and to sit
[1:27:52] Speaker 10: there and watch what is really really similar to what
[1:27:55] Speaker 10: happened in Babylon five, happened in the US and I
[1:27:58] Speaker 10: and I want to keep in mind that I want
[1:28:00] Speaker 10: to hold up for hope that you know, eventually, against
[1:28:05] Speaker 10: all odds, democracy will prevail and we will somehow, we
[1:28:10] Speaker 10: will somehow get you know, have another election and elect
[1:28:13] Speaker 10: somebody else who isn't Donald Trump and push the Republicans
[1:28:15] Speaker 10: out of power. I don't think we're going to get that.
[1:28:18] Speaker 10: In fact, I think that there might be. I wouldn't
[1:28:22] Speaker 10: be surprised if before there are elections in twenty twenty
[1:28:25] Speaker 10: six for the House and Senate that we get a
[1:28:27] Speaker 10: martial law to decree from Trump and then elections will
[1:28:31] Speaker 10: simply be canceled.
[1:28:33] Speaker 3: Anything's possible. Years ago, I would have thought there was
[1:28:37] Speaker 3: a bottom, and today I just think maybe there's not.
[1:28:41] Speaker 3: But I'm going to keep fighting and I go.
[1:28:44] Speaker 10: I knew that I knew that this was this was
[1:28:48] Speaker 10: that that that this is the way that it would
[1:28:51] Speaker 10: eventually go, because I've seen this behavior. I had seen
[1:28:56] Speaker 10: mega like behavior during the George W. Bush years. Now,
[1:29:02] Speaker 10: George W. Bush didn't didn't didn't feed into it like this,
[1:29:05] Speaker 10: but all of the statements about making more babies and
[1:29:10] Speaker 10: stopping abortion, all of that was and impeaching judges, all
[1:29:16] Speaker 10: of that was coming from the pulpit during the Bush years,
[1:29:19] Speaker 10: during the early years of the war on terrorism.
[1:29:23] Speaker 3: All right, I mean, I mean what we're seeing definitely
[1:29:27] Speaker 3: is half century effort zombie. And obviously you're very impassionate
[1:29:32] Speaker 3: about this subject, as many of us are. So thank
[1:29:36] Speaker 3: you very much for being a part of today's discussion.
[1:29:40] Speaker 3: You just take care, yeah, I We'll see you later. Oh, look,
[1:29:44] Speaker 3: super chats, let's see. I want to make sure Seth.
[1:29:51] Speaker 3: Could you talk about the possibility Dems aren't doing much
[1:29:55] Speaker 3: due to legit threats to self and family by the
[1:29:58] Speaker 3: oligarchs and such. Have I read this one? I don't
[1:30:00] Speaker 3: think so, LJ. Thank you for the super chat.
[1:30:03] Speaker 4: Oh.
[1:30:03] Speaker 3: I think many people are terrified what happens when a
[1:30:05] Speaker 3: guy worth four hundred billion dollars is your enemy and
[1:30:09] Speaker 3: we know they're capable of tremendous dirty tricks and ruining
[1:30:13] Speaker 3: lives and you know before if they activate even one
[1:30:16] Speaker 3: extremist to declare war on you, or they put your
[1:30:20] Speaker 3: kids in danger. I mean, I'm sure there's there are
[1:30:23] Speaker 3: threats that many of us haven't even envisioned. So I'm
[1:30:26] Speaker 3: sure fear and you know, people are having a cost
[1:30:29] Speaker 3: benefit as to how bad am I going to take
[1:30:32] Speaker 3: it in the teeth and how in danger do I
[1:30:34] Speaker 3: want to be? But I also think we need to
[1:30:36] Speaker 3: be on the right side of history. Paul said, what
[1:30:40] Speaker 3: disheartens me is the progressives attack on Schumer and on
[1:30:43] Speaker 3: anyone who thinks shutting the government right now would be
[1:30:47] Speaker 3: stopped Trump or Elon. I'm not a huge fan of
[1:30:51] Speaker 3: Shumer's move, but I'm not an expert in this. I
[1:30:55] Speaker 3: know shutting down the government harms it a lot of people,
[1:30:58] Speaker 3: But I'm back to wishing the Democrats would show solidarity against,
[1:31:05] Speaker 3: you know, the atrocities that are happening. A supersticker from
[1:31:10] Speaker 3: TMF J l J said, how acute or extreme might
[1:31:16] Speaker 3: the oligarch threats be to dem leaders to cause this
[1:31:20] Speaker 3: degree of inaction? I think we I think we covered that.
[1:31:25] Speaker 3: When they say Democrats they mean n words. Who's they
[1:31:31] Speaker 3: and which Democrats? I don't know. I'm not a fan
[1:31:35] Speaker 3: of blanket statements. DJ gifted a membership. Lovely Robin says
[1:31:41] Speaker 3: we must be united divided. We fall for the support
[1:31:46] Speaker 3: and for your words. I thank you so very much,
[1:31:49] Speaker 3: lovely time with you as we spend almost what two
[1:31:52] Speaker 3: hours talking about the stuff that was on our minds.
[1:31:55] Speaker 3: I hope it's been entertaining for you. I will see
[1:31:58] Speaker 3: you back here on a show. The next show, I
[1:32:01] Speaker 3: think is going to be a conversation between me and
[1:32:05] Speaker 3: Forrest Valci. You never have to do a lot of
[1:32:09] Speaker 3: prep with Forrest Valci. You sit in a chair and
[1:32:13] Speaker 3: you put a mic, you put a microphone on Forest Valci,
[1:32:17] Speaker 3: and then you just hang in. An hour goes like that,
[1:32:23] Speaker 3: And that's what's gonna happen, and it's going to be
[1:32:25] Speaker 3: a freaking roller coaster. You're gonna love it. And we've
[1:32:28] Speaker 3: got that and more coming up here as we approach,
[1:32:32] Speaker 3: slowly approach the month of April. Be good, take care,
[1:32:36] Speaker 3: I'll see you later.
