## Transcript

[0:01] Speaker 1: Understand the thinking atheist. It's not a person, it's a symbol,
[0:09] Speaker 1: an idea.
[0:10] Speaker 2: The population of atheists this country is going through the.
[0:13] Speaker 1: Rule, rejecting faith, pursuing knowledge, challenging the sacred. If I
[0:19] Speaker 1: tell the truth, it's because I tell the truth, not because.
[0:22] Speaker 2: I put my hand on a book and made a.
[0:24] Speaker 1: Wish and working together for a more rational world.
[0:29] Speaker 2: Take the risk of thinking, feel so much more happiness.
[0:32] Speaker 2: Truth Usian wisdom will come to you that way.
[0:35] Speaker 1: Assume nothing, question everything, and start thinking. This is the
[0:43] Speaker 1: Thinking Atheist podcast hosted by Seth Andrews.
[0:56] Speaker 2: A normally not big on bandwagon territory, but I do
[1:00] Speaker 2: want to be topical. And this is what everybody's talking
[1:03] Speaker 2: about now, the removal of Jimmy Kimmel from his broadcast.
[1:08] Speaker 2: In fact, I think they cancel the whole broadcast or
[1:11] Speaker 2: removed it indefinitely after he said what was alleged to
[1:16] Speaker 2: be hate speech. Now, we live in a culture where
[1:20] Speaker 2: anybody who says anything that offends a specific demographic is
[1:26] Speaker 2: it's not just that a private organization is going to
[1:29] Speaker 2: decide to yank him. And we do believe that there
[1:33] Speaker 2: are rights by private organizations to be able to pull
[1:38] Speaker 2: somebody who they do not think properly represents their brand.
[1:42] Speaker 2: And that sounds amazing here unless you peel back layers
[1:45] Speaker 2: of the onion to realize exactly what is going on.
[1:48] Speaker 2: Let's start with a primmer. In his Monday night monologue,
[1:53] Speaker 2: Kimmel said the Maga gang desperately trying to characterize this
[1:57] Speaker 2: kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one
[2:00] Speaker 2: of them, and doing everything they can to score political
[2:04] Speaker 2: points from it. The late night host also noted flags
[2:09] Speaker 2: being flown at half massed in honor of Kirk, which
[2:11] Speaker 2: got some criticism at the time, and mocked US President
[2:14] Speaker 2: Donald Trump's reaction to the shooting. This is not how
[2:18] Speaker 2: an adult grieves the murder of someone he calls a friend.
[2:22] Speaker 2: This is how a four year old mourns a gold fish. Okay, well,
[2:31] Speaker 2: Jimmy Kimmel has been canceled by ABC, and Trump Calt
[2:37] Speaker 2: is having a field day. They are gleefully laughing. There
[2:41] Speaker 2: are people who are saying, hey, it's about freaking time.
[2:44] Speaker 2: This hate speech will not be tolerated. You and I
[2:47] Speaker 2: are seeing Charlie Kirk now the poster saint, the martyr
[2:51] Speaker 2: for the evangelical right, and I want to get a
[2:55] Speaker 2: little bit into what I mean by peeling back the
[2:59] Speaker 2: layers of the onion. I had posted something on Facebook.
[3:03] Speaker 2: I'm just going to read it for you here without
[3:05] Speaker 2: showing the screen. Am I guilty of hate speech? I
[3:10] Speaker 2: am a critic of the Bible, a fierce opponent of
[3:13] Speaker 2: Christian nationalism, and an ex evangelical, secular humanist activist who
[3:18] Speaker 2: wants a nation and world safe and equal for all.
[3:22] Speaker 2: This includes Christians, those of non Christian faiths, the non religious,
[3:28] Speaker 2: LGBT people, immigrants, people of color, etc. I roast sacred cows.
[3:35] Speaker 2: I speak sharply about autocrats, zealots, grifters, and diviners. I
[3:40] Speaker 2: want coequal branches of a representative government. I want religious
[3:45] Speaker 2: expression protected under an administration that doesn't function as a
[3:50] Speaker 2: national church. I want free people to be protected as
[3:53] Speaker 2: they speak and act freely. I also like the words
[3:57] Speaker 2: of Martin Luther King Junior, whom charge Kirk called an
[4:01] Speaker 2: awful person. I criticize America because I love her. I
[4:06] Speaker 2: want her to stand as a moral example to the world. Yet,
[4:11] Speaker 2: from the suffrage movement to Vietnam, to the civil rights
[4:14] Speaker 2: marches to the LGBT movement to the No Kings events
[4:18] Speaker 2: of twenty twenty five. How many critics, satirists, and protesters
[4:22] Speaker 2: have been branded national betrayers. It's bizarre many in today's
[4:29] Speaker 2: America would call me a trader, wicked, an enemy of
[4:33] Speaker 2: the United States and by association. God will the oligarch
[4:38] Speaker 2: controlled platforms soon expand their hate speech hit to name
[4:44] Speaker 2: people like me and what dominoes in my life and
[4:47] Speaker 2: family may get kicked down? How will Free America punish
[4:52] Speaker 2: me and you for speaking freely. I don't consider myself
[4:57] Speaker 2: dangerous or traitoress. I think I'm a reasonable guy, a
[5:00] Speaker 2: moral guy, and I'm just as American as everybody else.
[5:06] Speaker 2: And I wanted to get into this private organization. Can
[5:09] Speaker 2: ABC decide who they and who they don't? One in
[5:12] Speaker 2: the air, I said, the right of a private organization
[5:15] Speaker 2: to determine who represents them is absolutely protected. But there
[5:21] Speaker 2: are issues. Number One, Kimmel was dumped by ABC, but
[5:26] Speaker 2: when Brian Killmead advocated for the execution of homeless people,
[5:31] Speaker 2: Brian got a gentle slap on the fingers. The double
[5:35] Speaker 2: standard reveals a lot. The Federal Communications Commissioned Chairman Brendan
[5:42] Speaker 2: Carr recently appeared on the highly political right wing podcast
[5:47] Speaker 2: The Benny Show, and he wrote the FCC chapter in
[5:53] Speaker 2: the Christian Nationalist playbook Project twenty twenty five. He is
[5:58] Speaker 2: now part of a movement to exploit Charlie Kirk's horrible
[6:02] Speaker 2: murder to cancel speech, which he considers quote concerted efforts
[6:08] Speaker 2: to deceive the American people. Meanwhile, Fox News' seven hundred
[6:13] Speaker 2: eighty seven billion dollar settlement over their lies about dominion
[6:17] Speaker 2: voting machines did not warrant a glance from Car. Those
[6:23] Speaker 2: lies were outstandingly a concerted effort to deceive the American people.
[6:30] Speaker 2: The authoritarian playbook is familiar territory, and that playbook includes
[6:36] Speaker 2: calling media outlets to buttress the brand. Musk, Zuck, etc.
[6:42] Speaker 2: Have already established alli garical control of x and Facebook.
[6:46] Speaker 2: Now Brendan Carrs FCC looms over broadcast licenses and media
[6:52] Speaker 2: merger approvals. Jimmy Kimmel will, of course land softly. He's
[6:59] Speaker 2: going to be just fun. But the inconveniencers, the flies,
[7:04] Speaker 2: and the ointment, the critics, the satirist, everyday free speakers,
[7:09] Speaker 2: they remain at the mercy of a system which is
[7:11] Speaker 2: for the moment defined as those who hate America by
[7:17] Speaker 2: Trump culture. I had this conversation recently with someone who
[7:24] Speaker 2: is a more conservative friend, and they said, you bring
[7:28] Speaker 2: some good points on but you know, Trump was elected democratically.
[7:32] Speaker 2: The people have spoken. This is the culture that people want,
[7:36] Speaker 2: and it's, in my opinion, a monumentally naive and reductive
[7:40] Speaker 2: way to look at the entire situation, Especially if you
[7:46] Speaker 2: look at polling. A lot of people are looking around
[7:49] Speaker 2: who voted for Trump, going well, why the hell is
[7:51] Speaker 2: this going on? I didn't vote for this, and you
[7:54] Speaker 2: and I are pounding the table, going, actually, as you did,
[7:57] Speaker 2: and ignorance is not an excuse. I wrote, no doubt
[8:03] Speaker 2: Trump was elected democratically. The people spoke, or the majority.
[8:08] Speaker 2: This was also true with nineteen twenty two Mussolini, and
[8:13] Speaker 2: then Mussolini dismantled the system that he used to gain power.
[8:18] Speaker 2: Many of us see echoes of that history today. The
[8:22] Speaker 2: plan is this, to scare people about vermin and various threats.
[8:26] Speaker 2: You promise to protect the citizenry and restore national greatness,
[8:31] Speaker 2: and you dismantle opposing systems so you can become king.
[8:38] Speaker 2: I don't think it's unreasonable to hear somebody declare, as
[8:42] Speaker 2: Trump did in twenty sixteen, I alone can fix it,
[8:47] Speaker 2: before having the White House post photos of himself crowned
[8:52] Speaker 2: as king while selling expensive Maga merch on his own
[8:56] Speaker 2: private website. A recent New Yorker investmentstigation had Trump profits
[9:02] Speaker 2: by presidency at three point four billion, with a b
[9:07] Speaker 2: billion dollars all the while Maga is grimacing about Hunter Biden.
[9:15] Speaker 2: There seems to be no line if Trump says or
[9:19] Speaker 2: does the worst he didn't do it, or he didn't
[9:21] Speaker 2: mean it, or context, or he's just playing four D
[9:24] Speaker 2: chess or I elected a president, not a pastor, which
[9:29] Speaker 2: is a strange line from the pearl clutchers who lost
[9:32] Speaker 2: their minds over Bill Clinton getting a blowjob. I had
[9:36] Speaker 2: a Trump voting friend tell me last month, I think
[9:40] Speaker 2: America needs an asshole right now, someone who can just
[9:43] Speaker 2: get things done. What are Trump's critics to him, if
[9:50] Speaker 2: not betrayers. Those who freely speak real concern about the
[9:55] Speaker 2: twenty five plus rape accusations and the e gene convey
[10:00] Speaker 2: which was just reinforced by an appeals court. Those who
[10:04] Speaker 2: heard ghostwriter Tony Schwartz reveal that the art of the
[10:09] Speaker 2: deal is fiction. Those concerned over Trump's declaration that a
[10:15] Speaker 2: president can quote do anything I want to do, Those
[10:19] Speaker 2: including a bunch of Christians, who say that Trump is
[10:22] Speaker 2: the antithesis of Christ's best teachings. Right, what if we
[10:28] Speaker 2: make these protests, What if we say what they would
[10:31] Speaker 2: consider to be a betrayal of the United States? Are
[10:34] Speaker 2: we hate speakers? We don't want to make America great again?
[10:38] Speaker 2: You know, if you oppose these people, you are literally
[10:42] Speaker 2: accused of heresy. I have never seen a political atmosphere
[10:46] Speaker 2: like this in my lifetime, nothing even close. And there's
[10:49] Speaker 2: a zealotry that concerns me, especially as somebody who has
[10:54] Speaker 2: been called frequently demonic I'm believer, I'm a secular atheist activist. Okay, fine, well,
[11:04] Speaker 2: non Christians are they are in the arms of Satan.
[11:07] Speaker 2: They're hanging out with the devil. The word they is
[11:12] Speaker 2: being used as a dog whistle by the right to
[11:15] Speaker 2: stoke outrage, perhaps even prompt a new civil war. I
[11:20] Speaker 2: did a video about this recently. White House Deputy Chief
[11:24] Speaker 2: of Staff Stephen Miller recently demonized the left, claiming that
[11:28] Speaker 2: those Americans have an insatiable thirst for destruction, they practice
[11:33] Speaker 2: wicked ideology and infect the halls of our institutions with
[11:38] Speaker 2: a sinister, chilling glee. His words. I didn't have the
[11:43] Speaker 2: destruction of democracy and decency on my daytimer. I'm not
[11:48] Speaker 2: exactly sure what I'm missing here. Day is one of
[11:53] Speaker 2: those loaded words. It's almost like when the mob says
[11:58] Speaker 2: they want somebody taken out, but they don't say the words.
[12:01] Speaker 2: You know, it'd be a shame if something happened to them.
[12:06] Speaker 2: You know, somebody out to do something about those guys,
[12:10] Speaker 2: you know, I mean, anyone who is familiar with the
[12:13] Speaker 2: power of language understands exactly what they are talking about. Oh,
[12:20] Speaker 2: I wanted to define hate speech From the American Library
[12:24] Speaker 2: Association Hate Speech and Hate crime. Hate speech is any
[12:29] Speaker 2: form of expression through which speakers intend to vilify, humiliate,
[12:34] Speaker 2: or incite hatred against a group or a class of
[12:37] Speaker 2: persons on the basis of race, religion, skin color, sexual identity,
[12:41] Speaker 2: gender identity, ethnicity, disability, or national origin. Hate crimes are
[12:48] Speaker 2: overt acts that can include acts of violence against persons
[12:52] Speaker 2: or property, violation or deprivation of civil rights, certain true threats,
[12:58] Speaker 2: or acts of intimidation or conspiracy to commit these crimes.
[13:02] Speaker 2: Now I find this interesting. There is no legal definition
[13:06] Speaker 2: of hate speech under US law, just as there is
[13:11] Speaker 2: no legal definition for evil ideas, rudeness, unpatriotic speech, or
[13:16] Speaker 2: any other kind of speech that people might condemn. Generally, however,
[13:23] Speaker 2: hate speech is any form of expression through which speakers
[13:26] Speaker 2: tend to vilify, humiliate, or incite hatred against a group
[13:31] Speaker 2: or class of persons on the criteria that we described
[13:35] Speaker 2: just a moment ago. Now, I don't think I'm a
[13:39] Speaker 2: free speech absolutist. I know some people I think hitch was.
[13:45] Speaker 2: You know, you can say anything anywhere and you should
[13:49] Speaker 2: be protected. But do people have the right to hate?
[13:55] Speaker 2: Do people have the right to be hateful and to
[14:01] Speaker 2: say the words of hate? Well, I believe that if
[14:06] Speaker 2: we live in a nation which protects speech, it has
[14:09] Speaker 2: to protect the awful speech as well. Right If you
[14:14] Speaker 2: and I live in a nation where the only speech
[14:18] Speaker 2: that is protected is the speech we like, that's not
[14:22] Speaker 2: free speech. It's messy, it's sometimes disturbing. We can be
[14:29] Speaker 2: outraged at the speech of other people. We can say
[14:34] Speaker 2: that it's toxic and awful. But is it free? I
[14:37] Speaker 2: think so. If you are calling down or calling for
[14:44] Speaker 2: violence upon someone, if that type of thing is going
[14:47] Speaker 2: you can't call bomb threats into a building, or you know,
[14:51] Speaker 2: you can't call for a I don't know, a civil
[14:56] Speaker 2: war against a literal civil war against people. You know
[15:00] Speaker 2: what I'm saying. But it's messy. It's like obscenity laws
[15:04] Speaker 2: came out of FM radio, and I remember they were
[15:06] Speaker 2: trying to teach us about obscenity law when I was
[15:09] Speaker 2: in college, and they're like, it is one of the
[15:11] Speaker 2: most ill defined bodies of law in all of law.
[15:16] Speaker 2: And what they did originally was anything that appealed to
[15:19] Speaker 2: the prurient interests of the most susceptible in an immoral
[15:25] Speaker 2: way would be considered obscene. Well, good luck defining that.
[15:32] Speaker 2: I mean, if we were to be reductive, it boils
[15:35] Speaker 2: down to what would give the village idiot a perverse
[15:42] Speaker 2: sexual I mean, you can't even do that. How do
[15:46] Speaker 2: you define obscenity? And the same is true when it
[15:49] Speaker 2: comes to speech. And so I myself think, Okay, well
[15:54] Speaker 2: they start here at the major media outlets, and I
[15:57] Speaker 2: don't think it's unreasonable to think that in a nation
[16:01] Speaker 2: where I believe six six companies own roughly ninety percent
[16:07] Speaker 2: of all TV and radio outlets, and I think that
[16:10] Speaker 2: number is pretty close for the news outlets as well
[16:14] Speaker 2: as well. It is a very very very small number
[16:18] Speaker 2: of very influential and wealthy corporations that own the media.
[16:24] Speaker 2: You've got Elon Musk who owns x. He has monopolized
[16:29] Speaker 2: an entire fire hose of disinformation. Musk and Zuckerberg right
[16:37] Speaker 2: on Facebook cannect with almost total autonomy and decide what
[16:44] Speaker 2: the algorithms reject or accept, who's going to get amplified,
[16:49] Speaker 2: who's going to get deleted. And these people have been
[16:53] Speaker 2: slobbering in the White House over Donald Trump. Do you
[16:57] Speaker 2: see that It was conference, but it was all of
[17:01] Speaker 2: the tech bros sitting around the table and they all
[17:04] Speaker 2: just took turns for an hour and a half with
[17:07] Speaker 2: their head up Trump's ass, telling them how amazing he is, now,
[17:10] Speaker 2: wonderful he is. And don't tell me these people aren't
[17:13] Speaker 2: filling their pockets and getting government contracts and consolidating power
[17:16] Speaker 2: and strategic you think they give a shit about Donald Trump.
[17:20] Speaker 2: These are oligarchs who have a stranglehold on the flow
[17:24] Speaker 2: of information, on the conduits, the silos of information here.
[17:28] Speaker 2: And you and I are now watching the FCC, the
[17:33] Speaker 2: Federal Communications commission weaponized to take out anyone and everyone
[17:40] Speaker 2: under this waving flag of we're protecting the nation, we
[17:46] Speaker 2: are protecting the culture. We want to make sure that
[17:50] Speaker 2: you are safe from the information which might harm you
[17:54] Speaker 2: and harm America. This has been the calling cards, This
[17:59] Speaker 2: has been strategy and the tactics of authoritarian since forever.
[18:07] Speaker 2: So Natalie and I are talking. Things are so hot,
[18:12] Speaker 2: things are so intense. What's the next step? Is there
[18:19] Speaker 2: a rebellion in the entertainment industry? Did you see freaking
[18:22] Speaker 2: Tucker Carlson came forward to decry Jimmy Kimmel's firing. Damn
[18:30] Speaker 2: it for making me agree for this micro second with
[18:34] Speaker 2: Tucker Carlson. I'm mad about that. If you've lost Tucker Carlson,
[18:42] Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, If you've lost Tucker Carlson.
[18:46] Speaker 2: So is there going to be a revolt? Well the
[18:48] Speaker 2: pendulum swing back the other way? Or is this this
[18:52] Speaker 2: the beginning the first steps?
[18:53] Speaker 3: Right?
[18:54] Speaker 2: So then all of the other inconvenient critics, you know,
[18:57] Speaker 2: they go after the John Stewarts, and then let's cancel
[19:01] Speaker 2: South Park and let's do all of the other outlets
[19:03] Speaker 2: that have been apparently on American and then let's move
[19:06] Speaker 2: down the tier. Well, who's next, Well, look out, if
[19:09] Speaker 2: you've ever produced any content saying Charlie Kirk wasn't Jesus,
[19:14] Speaker 2: or if you say Christianity is bullshit, or if you
[19:18] Speaker 2: have criticized dear Leader, now you are also guilty of
[19:21] Speaker 2: hate speech, and the oligarchs have the power to shut
[19:25] Speaker 2: us out. I'd someone tell me, well, fine, finding if
[19:30] Speaker 2: they cancel your channels, you can just go somewhere else,
[19:36] Speaker 2: start something else, somewhere you know, this America, this America,
[19:40] Speaker 2: and just start something else. And I'm like, you gotta
[19:42] Speaker 2: be shitting me. I don't have I don't have a
[19:48] Speaker 2: trillion of the resources to begin a global social network
[19:53] Speaker 2: and broadcasting enterprise and infrastructure to be able to get
[19:59] Speaker 2: the message out back. I simply cannot We cannot do this,
[20:04] Speaker 2: you know, saying it's like somebody with one hundred bucks
[20:08] Speaker 2: to start a corner store is supposed to compete with Walmart.
[20:13] Speaker 2: How's that happen? How much of a chance did they
[20:15] Speaker 2: freaking have. It's so naive. I can't believe Brian Killmead
[20:23] Speaker 2: wasn't tossed out of the building even by Fox News.
[20:28] Speaker 2: Where's the line? Well, I'm very sorry that I said
[20:32] Speaker 2: those things. It was very insensitive. No, Brian Killmead said
[20:40] Speaker 2: the quiet part out loud. He actually said what he
[20:44] Speaker 2: was thinking. Those are my initial thoughts, but I want
[20:49] Speaker 2: to hear yours. We go to the phones next. This
[20:57] Speaker 2: is an extra podcast this week. It's free to every Boddy,
[21:00] Speaker 2: free to patrons, etc. We're just talking about something that
[21:04] Speaker 2: happened yesterday, the removal of Jimmy Kimmel from ABC's lineup
[21:10] Speaker 2: because he was just, I don't know, too hateful. That's
[21:15] Speaker 2: the narrative being spawn out there in Maga lands. I
[21:18] Speaker 2: want to find out what you think. Aaron is dialing
[21:23] Speaker 2: in from New York. Aaron, can you.
[21:25] Speaker 3: Hear me, I can hear you.
[21:29] Speaker 2: Welcome what's going on?
[21:33] Speaker 3: Nothing? I just I caught your show here in the
[21:37] Speaker 3: middle of the day. I just happened to be home,
[21:39] Speaker 3: and I'm glad I was able to get through to you.
[21:43] Speaker 3: I don't know this whole this whole thing, for me,
[21:47] Speaker 3: is is the sign of scary times. I'm not I'm
[21:53] Speaker 3: not a religious person. I don't believe in, you know,
[21:57] Speaker 3: whatever doomsday stuff Bible says, but I do see things
[22:03] Speaker 3: turning in a horrible direction, and if you watch anyone
[22:08] Speaker 3: who reads or writes anything about fascism, authoritarianism, these are
[22:14] Speaker 3: these are step by step things that are happening right now.
[22:18] Speaker 3: Military industreets, the silencing of the centers, calling news outlets
[22:26] Speaker 3: and making them part of you know, making them like
[22:32] Speaker 3: put your agenda as there as their main things, silencing them.
[22:37] Speaker 3: You know, I'm I'm more concerned about the deafening silence
[22:43] Speaker 3: that I'm hearing or not, you know, you know what
[22:46] Speaker 3: I mean, Like, there's a deafening silence from everyone you
[22:51] Speaker 3: know about what's happening right now, and I think that's
[22:53] Speaker 3: what's aggravating and making me angry. I mean, I don't know.
[22:59] Speaker 3: Maybe I'm reading I'm being hyperbolic, I'm reading too much
[23:02] Speaker 3: into this, But I don't know. Sometimes right now I'm worried.
[23:08] Speaker 2: I think many share your worth. I think many people
[23:11] Speaker 2: do see military in the streets and the monopolizing of
[23:15] Speaker 2: the message and the branding of all critics as treasonous
[23:19] Speaker 2: and dangerous and vermin I think many would agree with you, Aaron,
[23:23] Speaker 2: So yeah, totally get it.
[23:27] Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, Like I hate the you know,
[23:33] Speaker 3: I compare this to like you if you want to
[23:39] Speaker 3: if you want to discuss, let's say, a corrupt cop
[23:42] Speaker 3: or a criminal act by a police source, so that
[23:44] Speaker 3: that is, let's say it's one hundred percent Troy like
[23:47] Speaker 3: you saw it, you witnessed it, this evidence, and the
[23:50] Speaker 3: person is convicted. So I have to preface every time
[23:53] Speaker 3: I talk about a corrupt cop by saying, well, you know,
[23:57] Speaker 3: most cops are good. You know. I don't want to
[24:00] Speaker 3: have to preface that anymore. And I don't want to
[24:03] Speaker 3: have to preface the fact that while Charlie Kirk, you know,
[24:08] Speaker 3: and and his his his murder, his assassination was horrific
[24:13] Speaker 3: and sets us back decades as far as you know,
[24:16] Speaker 3: a dialogue in this country. I don't want to have
[24:19] Speaker 3: to preface that every time I say that what he
[24:21] Speaker 3: said was was foul. The things he said was, you know,
[24:26] Speaker 3: it was so dismantling of our our fucking our culture
[24:31] Speaker 3: and our country and what we stand for. You know.
[24:35] Speaker 3: I don't want to have to say, well, you know,
[24:36] Speaker 3: what they did to him is wrong. You know, I
[24:38] Speaker 3: know that. I think anybody would common sense knows that.
[24:41] Speaker 3: But it's like if you don't, if you don't put
[24:43] Speaker 3: that that caveat before you say whatever you're going to say.
[24:47] Speaker 3: And I think that the people that I've seen set
[24:49] Speaker 3: the people that I've watched on YouTube, I haven't seen
[24:52] Speaker 3: any of the people dancing on his grave the way
[24:55] Speaker 3: people say they are. Maybe they exist, I haven't seen them.
[24:58] Speaker 3: But the ones that I've watched, the ones, all of
[25:01] Speaker 3: them are like, this was wrong, this was wrong, this
[25:05] Speaker 3: was horrific. Right, And then they say, but this is
[25:09] Speaker 3: what he said, and that's what they're saying, what he said.
[25:14] Speaker 2: Well, I saw I saw some dancing on his grave.
[25:19] Speaker 2: I saw people who were partying on social media. I
[25:23] Speaker 2: saw people who were like, you know, fuck that guy,
[25:26] Speaker 2: I'm one less bigot. I'm glad he's gone. I'd piss
[25:28] Speaker 2: on his grave. You're going to find that in any tribe,
[25:31] Speaker 2: in any culture, that we are not immune. I understand frustration.
[25:35] Speaker 2: I also understand I think it's a tremendously unfortunate way
[25:39] Speaker 2: to approach political violence, and it plays into a narrative
[25:44] Speaker 2: that makes the job harder, you know, for speakers, for
[25:47] Speaker 2: speakers across the board. You know, do people have the
[25:51] Speaker 2: right to say and think those things? Yes, they do.
[25:54] Speaker 2: But it kind of irritates me because I think, as
[25:57] Speaker 2: I did you can go through and list the problem,
[26:00] Speaker 2: add things that Charlie Kirk said and did without saying yeah, yay,
[26:05] Speaker 2: I can't wait. You know, another bigot bites the dust
[26:09] Speaker 2: who because the subtext of that is, well, I guess
[26:13] Speaker 2: more bigots need to be taken out, and then it's
[26:16] Speaker 2: a de facto endorsement of the shooter, et cetera. So
[26:19] Speaker 2: I did say some of that, but I also saw
[26:22] Speaker 2: a lot more respectful protest. Who was the preacher who said,
[26:27] Speaker 2: you know, if he wasn't good in life, we shouldn't
[26:29] Speaker 2: deify him in death, and I think that is an
[26:32] Speaker 2: accurate That's a healthy way to approach it. Aaron I agree.
[26:37] Speaker 3: I agree. It's just that it's so one sided from
[26:42] Speaker 3: this administration, where like we put our flag at half
[26:46] Speaker 3: man half staff, you know, for a non elected public figure,
[26:51] Speaker 3: and then you know, a Minnesota senator was shot and
[26:56] Speaker 3: killed and nothing was done to honor that person. So
[27:02] Speaker 3: I you know, again the administration is moving in a
[27:05] Speaker 3: dangerous direction. But they told us what they were going
[27:09] Speaker 3: to do. They let us know that, they they let
[27:12] Speaker 3: us know, and anyone who's saying is that we couldn't
[27:15] Speaker 3: see this coming. We should have seen it coming because
[27:18] Speaker 3: Project twenty twenty five is being enacted right now, and
[27:22] Speaker 3: I think people don't want to see it. They want
[27:25] Speaker 3: to act like it's not happening, and they think if
[27:27] Speaker 3: they do that, then maybe it won't And it's a
[27:30] Speaker 3: dangerous position to take in my humble opinion. You know,
[27:34] Speaker 3: I need to we need to wake up. And you know,
[27:37] Speaker 3: guys like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert and I don't
[27:42] Speaker 3: know who's going to be next. I don't know, like
[27:45] Speaker 3: anyone who disagrees the average YouTuber, the average person that says, hey,
[27:50] Speaker 3: you know this is wrong. Look at what their ice
[27:52] Speaker 3: is doing. Look at what these people are doing, Look
[27:54] Speaker 3: at this new thing that they're trying to do. Is
[27:57] Speaker 3: that going to be the next person that gets canceled?
[28:00] Speaker 3: You know, it's dangerous.
[28:03] Speaker 2: Well, Aaron, I appreciate you calling to express yourself and
[28:06] Speaker 2: those positions, opinions, perspectives, and thanks for being a part
[28:11] Speaker 2: of the show.
[28:13] Speaker 3: Thank you very much, sir.
[28:15] Speaker 2: Thank you. Elan Thomas dialing in from five to seventy four.
[28:24] Speaker 2: Are you there? What's up?
[28:27] Speaker 4: Yeah? How you doing?
[28:28] Speaker 2: I'm good? What's up?
[28:29] Speaker 5: How you doing?
[28:32] Speaker 4: I want to take you back on Aaron. I disagree
[28:36] Speaker 4: about the existential threat of fascism. I think every generation
[28:42] Speaker 4: of every uh Silver's president has a threat. Everyone thinks
[28:49] Speaker 4: their sides the other side of plosua, sides to the
[28:52] Speaker 4: really horrible things, and that's why it's important what Charlie
[28:55] Speaker 4: Kick did is having dialogue between conservatives and Democrats on
[29:02] Speaker 4: the topic of free speech. I agree with you that
[29:06] Speaker 4: it's complicated. You should be able to say vile things
[29:10] Speaker 4: as protected under free speech, but maybe in this day
[29:13] Speaker 4: and age, it's not smart to post it publicly so
[29:17] Speaker 4: your boss doesn't see it or someone can use it
[29:19] Speaker 4: against you. I know that's kind of a sad state.
[29:23] Speaker 2: But now, look, if I was an employer and I
[29:26] Speaker 2: saw that somebody representing my company was saying genuinely vitriolic things.
[29:30] Speaker 2: They were using the N word, or they were being
[29:32] Speaker 2: disparaging against gay people or whatever, I would want to
[29:36] Speaker 2: know that because that person being a representative of me,
[29:38] Speaker 2: and I would want to be able to make a
[29:40] Speaker 2: decision as to whether that person would represent me or not.
[29:44] Speaker 2: I get that if someone was If I was a conservative,
[29:49] Speaker 2: Republican evangelical and my employee was, let's say, a progressive
[29:54] Speaker 2: Muslim who was a critic of Christianity. That is a
[29:58] Speaker 2: different conversation altogether, and I think that type of speech
[30:02] Speaker 2: falls into a different category. Regarding Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk
[30:06] Speaker 2: did stunt debates. He went through to these college campuses
[30:10] Speaker 2: and he put up these little things. He had people
[30:12] Speaker 2: come in college kids, many of whom were not nearly
[30:15] Speaker 2: as prepared as he was. He already had his answers
[30:17] Speaker 2: in his back pocket. He knew his talking points by
[30:20] Speaker 2: heart because he did them from city to city. He
[30:23] Speaker 2: wasn't interested in meaningful dialogue. He was putting together content
[30:26] Speaker 2: for clicks. He was sound biting himself for the purpose
[30:31] Speaker 2: of promoting his own ideas and brand. This was not
[30:35] Speaker 2: meaningful discourse. So this idea that well, he went out
[30:38] Speaker 2: and engage the political opposition in good faith because he
[30:42] Speaker 2: wanted the best ideas to win the day. I find
[30:44] Speaker 2: monumentally naive. He went into college campuses, he put up
[30:48] Speaker 2: his tend he rolled his cameras, and he used his
[30:50] Speaker 2: talking points, and then he monetized that and used it
[30:54] Speaker 2: to build himself into what is now the martyrs saint
[30:58] Speaker 2: that he is. And I think that's a different conversation
[31:00] Speaker 2: than debate.
[31:01] Speaker 4: Okay, I respectfully disagree. I think that if you look
[31:08] Speaker 4: at Eric Hoften's work or Johnston Heights work, and a
[31:12] Speaker 4: lot of other people that study the political differences, and
[31:15] Speaker 4: the universities especially, you have an overwhelming number of liberals, professors, Marxists, communists,
[31:24] Speaker 4: and student body that is liberal, and therefore conservative ideas
[31:28] Speaker 4: aren't really being exposed to a lot.
[31:31] Speaker 2: Do you want to hang on hang on on that point?
[31:33] Speaker 2: You don't think that students are being exposed to conservative
[31:37] Speaker 2: ideas in this culture? And what if we have seen
[31:41] Speaker 2: more one party, one culture, hang on one one party
[31:45] Speaker 2: or one culture more than another, has leaned away from science,
[31:48] Speaker 2: has leaned away from civil rights, has leaned away from
[31:52] Speaker 2: reproductive choice, has leaned away from sensible foreign policy not
[31:56] Speaker 2: rooted in the Book of Revelation. We may and if
[32:01] Speaker 2: I'll just say it this way, we may see that
[32:04] Speaker 2: they're not instructors. They're not pushing a liberal agenda as
[32:11] Speaker 2: much as they are teaching what is actually real and
[32:15] Speaker 2: reality may have a little bit of a liberal bias.
[32:18] Speaker 2: It leans liberal right. It's not the right wing that
[32:22] Speaker 2: have gone after LGBT people because they're an abomination. It's
[32:25] Speaker 2: not the right wing or I'm sorry, it's not the
[32:27] Speaker 2: left that's going after them. It's not the left that
[32:29] Speaker 2: denied climate change, it's not the left that are vax deniers,
[32:32] Speaker 2: that denied COVID. It's not the left who we're talking
[32:35] Speaker 2: about Israel like it's Zion. It's simply not. And so
[32:38] Speaker 2: if it leans a little more progressive, that may mean
[32:42] Speaker 2: that the problem is not the progressive. The problem is
[32:45] Speaker 2: the right is increasingly untethered to reality.
[32:48] Speaker 4: Right, I disagree because I know a lot of right
[32:53] Speaker 4: being atheists and they're very resonable people. And as far
[32:56] Speaker 4: as the COVID vaccine, like, if you looked into the detail,
[33:00] Speaker 4: it was really good vaccine for adults and people that
[33:02] Speaker 4: had sicknesses. But if you look at the age dependence
[33:06] Speaker 4: on the vaccine, whether it's it good for them or not,
[33:09] Speaker 4: people are still pushing it for little kids and that
[33:11] Speaker 4: was unnecessary. People are pushing masks for kindergarteners and they
[33:13] Speaker 4: would take them off during nap time, which is unnecessary.
[33:16] Speaker 2: That you have this bush look at you. You aren't
[33:20] Speaker 2: going to pedal. You're not going to pedal COVID disinformation
[33:23] Speaker 2: on this program. You're simply not sure and and to say, hey,
[33:28] Speaker 2: I know some nice right wing atheists has nothing to
[33:32] Speaker 2: do with what I had just said about how those
[33:37] Speaker 2: who lean much more right wing are those who historically
[33:41] Speaker 2: and now culturally have leaned away from the reality that
[33:45] Speaker 2: we live in scientifically, ethically, philosophically, I think in many
[33:49] Speaker 2: cases morally okay.
[33:51] Speaker 4: And so the problems with this set one of the
[33:54] Speaker 4: problems with the set. And I really appreciate your show,
[33:58] Speaker 4: but how often do you have have people like bols Riley,
[34:02] Speaker 4: Glenn Lowery, I'm rolling fire, having McDonald, Coleman, Hughes, Camille Foster,
[34:08] Speaker 4: Michael Morniahan all these atheists that are either libertarian or
[34:12] Speaker 4: lean a little right or in the center on to
[34:15] Speaker 4: have to have different the nigh who was highly crucial
[34:20] Speaker 4: of the COVID virus are the COVID vaccine and the
[34:26] Speaker 4: masking of little kids and all the ramvocation of that.
[34:31] Speaker 2: Oh, I've got hands in the air all the time.
[34:34] Speaker 2: I had somebody just a couple of days ago with
[34:36] Speaker 2: their hand in the air. You know, they had their
[34:39] Speaker 2: hand in the air going I'm an atheist conservative. Debate me,
[34:42] Speaker 2: you coward, or have me on your show, you coward.
[34:44] Speaker 2: You know what when hold on? When it comes to
[34:48] Speaker 2: the COVID vaccine, you know who I'm gonna have on.
[34:50] Speaker 2: I'm going to have one on next week. I'm going
[34:52] Speaker 2: to have on a biologist, just like I had Ken
[34:56] Speaker 2: Miller this cell biology. I'm going to have some somebody
[35:00] Speaker 2: who was an actual scientist, not a right wing ideologue.
[35:04] Speaker 2: And don't tell me I don't already know what the
[35:06] Speaker 2: right wing talking points are. You think I'm going to
[35:08] Speaker 2: signal boost that here. I can choose who I do
[35:10] Speaker 2: and do.
[35:11] Speaker 4: Not what is progressive and is progressive? And he's an
[35:16] Speaker 4: epidemiologist at Stanford, Okay, And good to have opposing views,
[35:23] Speaker 4: and that's where you start the show.
[35:25] Speaker 2: I am not, but I'm not in an opposition Christian Jesus.
[35:31] Speaker 4: When you were Christian, you wish you could talk to atheists? Right, No,
[35:35] Speaker 4: some atheists was allowed to talk to you without being demonized. No,
[35:39] Speaker 4: and I think you lost track of that.
[35:41] Speaker 2: No. When I was a Christian, atheists weren't really on
[35:44] Speaker 2: my radar other than they were just in opposition to God.
[35:48] Speaker 2: And I know you want to take my position when
[35:50] Speaker 2: it comes to hang on. I know you want to
[35:52] Speaker 2: take my position when it comes to COVID, I don't know.
[35:54] Speaker 2: We'll call it other scientific things like climate change and
[35:58] Speaker 2: things that your right wing liberty and atheist friends may
[36:01] Speaker 2: also be skeptical about. And you want to make that
[36:03] Speaker 2: a religious argument, well, Seth, I'm sorry that you were
[36:07] Speaker 2: rightly skeptical about religion, but you're wrongly unskeptical about all
[36:11] Speaker 2: of these other things. And here's a laundry list of
[36:15] Speaker 2: guests that if you were fair, you would have. I
[36:17] Speaker 2: quite frankly, would rather talk to the scientists about the
[36:21] Speaker 2: actual science. And even if you find a few, even
[36:25] Speaker 2: if you find some fringe scientists who stand well outside
[36:29] Speaker 2: the mainstream, and I don't care. I mean, we've seen
[36:31] Speaker 2: that with Stephen Meyer, PhD. And we've seen some we've
[36:34] Speaker 2: seen was a wakefield and all these other agents of disinformation.
[36:38] Speaker 2: I'm not going to bring them on here and give
[36:39] Speaker 2: them a platform. I'm simply not going to do that.
[36:42] Speaker 4: And I have the right to decide talking about these
[36:44] Speaker 4: French wacos, I'm not at all, I promise you. I
[36:48] Speaker 4: believe the COVID vaccine was a good calls and it
[36:51] Speaker 4: was amazing that was, but it's it's a more nuanced,
[36:55] Speaker 4: complicate discussion. It wasn't good for little kids, it wasn't
[36:57] Speaker 4: necessarily little kids, masks weren't good for little kids, and
[37:00] Speaker 4: some of the policies were forned were seen to be horrible.
[37:04] Speaker 2: In the end, I will allow and that's all that
[37:07] Speaker 2: COVID was a moving target and it happened extremely quickly,
[37:11] Speaker 2: and that mistakes were made right, they were learning as
[37:14] Speaker 2: they went. But all of these myths I heard, the
[37:18] Speaker 2: one recently about pregnant women, that's bullshit, et cetera. Right,
[37:22] Speaker 2: pregnant women shouldn't get the vaccine, or actually they should.
[37:26] Speaker 2: And when it came to the protection of children's let's say,
[37:29] Speaker 2: let's say that they overreacted and inoculated children when they
[37:35] Speaker 2: did not have to. And I'm happy to look into
[37:38] Speaker 2: the science the scientists from Stanford's name that you brought up. Uh,
[37:45] Speaker 2: I'm going to need a spelling on that put it
[37:47] Speaker 2: in the.
[37:49] Speaker 6: All.
[37:50] Speaker 2: I'm happy to look into that. But this idea that
[37:56] Speaker 2: being pro science is as much a right as it
[37:59] Speaker 2: is a left thing, and that it's reflected in our universities.
[38:03] Speaker 2: As the Libs are essentially suffocating the halls of education,
[38:07] Speaker 2: maybe the people who are teaching things like evolutionary science.
[38:12] Speaker 2: Maybe the people who are teaching comparative religions classes instead
[38:17] Speaker 2: of being praguer you. Maybe the people who are more
[38:20] Speaker 2: rooted and tethered into the real simply happen to lean
[38:25] Speaker 2: more liberal because reality leans more liberal. I hold it that.
[38:32] Speaker 2: I think that's that's accura.
[38:36] Speaker 4: Maybe, but I think are different than you. I don't
[38:41] Speaker 4: attach religion to conservatism. Conservatism is political. I don't attach
[38:45] Speaker 4: it to religion.
[38:46] Speaker 2: Now everything's political. Everything is political. Religious, tell me Project
[38:52] Speaker 2: twenty twenty five isn't political and that it's not Christian.
[38:56] Speaker 2: Tell me the Project twenty twenty five being implemented pretty
[38:59] Speaker 2: much across the board is both not religious and not political.
[39:05] Speaker 4: See, I've heard contra arguments the product twenty five NBA implemented. Really,
[39:11] Speaker 4: so it all depends on really who you listen to?
[39:13] Speaker 7: You? What do you mean?
[39:13] Speaker 2: What do you mean?
[39:14] Speaker 4: I try my best. I try my best to listen
[39:16] Speaker 4: to both sides. Okay, well the full picture because everyone's
[39:21] Speaker 4: gonna stew.
[39:23] Speaker 2: Yeah. I just talked about the President of the Federal
[39:27] Speaker 2: Communications Commission, who has the power to approve or disapprove
[39:34] Speaker 2: all media mergers and approve or disapprove licenses to all
[39:39] Speaker 2: media outlets. This man wrote the FCC paragraph in Project
[39:45] Speaker 2: twenty twenty five, And you think, well, I am I
[39:49] Speaker 2: taking that out of context.
[39:53] Speaker 4: Well, if that's true, then I believe you that's horrible
[39:55] Speaker 4: and I would disagree with that immensely. Well, okay, let
[39:58] Speaker 4: me give another example. Crime a change, right, Why are
[40:02] Speaker 4: so many leftists against nuclear power when that has the
[40:05] Speaker 4: best option. Why has green pushed so much for nuclear power?
[40:09] Speaker 4: Is cleaner, better, more sustainable, more persistent. So you have
[40:14] Speaker 4: these these lines to the left too when it comes
[40:19] Speaker 4: to climate change. Change is real.
[40:21] Speaker 2: I don't think I am on the left and I
[40:24] Speaker 2: support nuclear power. Is that weird?
[40:27] Speaker 4: Yeah? No, I mean I don't hear that a lot
[40:30] Speaker 4: from people from the left. So less I'm saying, it's
[40:33] Speaker 4: sometimes the left and right gets clouted on the big
[40:37] Speaker 4: issues that are spread across being stream nia versus good conversation.
[40:41] Speaker 4: Well you know Thomas Well, yes, most of the people
[40:48] Speaker 4: on campus that I talked to, I would say about
[40:50] Speaker 4: ninety nine percent of them, even the ones in business,
[40:53] Speaker 4: never heard of Thomas Well, and he's a legend of America.
[40:57] Speaker 4: Underrated genius, you don't think so.
[41:05] Speaker 2: I mean, okay, you can build him up if you want.
[41:10] Speaker 2: My thing is, I'm not as interested in the man
[41:12] Speaker 2: as I am the ideas. Oh wow, he's a genius.
[41:16] Speaker 2: Doesn't really do much in the arena of ideas for
[41:19] Speaker 2: you and me. I think this this this okay, fine,
[41:24] Speaker 2: you're like his ideas. This notion that all of the
[41:28] Speaker 2: left are against nuclear power, I've seen. I think even
[41:31] Speaker 2: if d don trema and I hope I didn't misrepresent her,
[41:34] Speaker 2: the s ibabe, I think she said that she thinks
[41:38] Speaker 2: nuclear power makes sense. My bigger concern is the vilification
[41:44] Speaker 2: of green policies by people who are receiving squillions of
[41:48] Speaker 2: dollars by fossil fuel companies, and they resist any kind
[41:53] Speaker 2: of green legislation, be it solar, wind, et cetera, and
[41:57] Speaker 2: they have vilified those who do so. Now this is
[42:01] Speaker 2: you know, we're not seeing We're not seeing this sort
[42:05] Speaker 2: of in the pocket let's burn as much coal as
[42:08] Speaker 2: we can activism on the left. We are seeing it
[42:11] Speaker 2: more on the right. And it's interesting how much money
[42:15] Speaker 2: is involved. I don't think let's let's develop technologies that
[42:19] Speaker 2: don't fuck up the planet should be a controversial idea.
[42:23] Speaker 2: I just think that's common sense, good sense, right, Yeah.
[42:29] Speaker 4: But if you listen to or read Michael schl or
[42:31] Speaker 4: Steve Newpan, Jesus Christ, how many names are you going
[42:34] Speaker 4: to give me?
[42:35] Speaker 2: Tell me your ideas? Right, you can invoke as many
[42:38] Speaker 2: names as you want. What do you think.
[42:41] Speaker 4: I'm just where they were, Like, I'm just seeing where
[42:44] Speaker 4: I got them from and what I liked about them.
[42:46] Speaker 4: So I would like to get them credit. And so
[42:48] Speaker 4: someone wants to say, oh, I'll check that guy out.
[42:50] Speaker 2: That's all right, all right, Thomas, that is fair, that's
[42:54] Speaker 2: straight off.
[42:56] Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you. Uh so for green energy have a
[43:00] Speaker 4: lot of trade offs that are not mentioned. You have
[43:03] Speaker 4: a highly destructive of land because you have to gain
[43:06] Speaker 4: all these rare minerals. You have the intermittent power. You
[43:10] Speaker 4: have the destruction and the waste of all these windmills
[43:14] Speaker 4: when they when they don't last very long. You don't
[43:16] Speaker 4: replace him to destroy them. That costs a lot of money.
[43:18] Speaker 4: They don't have a long lifespan. You have the destruction
[43:21] Speaker 4: of birds in the air with these windows. You have
[43:24] Speaker 4: solar energy that's only using part of the planet, and
[43:27] Speaker 4: you don't have the lines to get that power, even
[43:29] Speaker 4: from the desert all the way because our infrastructure sucks
[43:32] Speaker 4: so solar energy is only available in certain areas of America.
[43:37] Speaker 4: You know, the solar plants.
[43:38] Speaker 2: I'm going to stop you don't You.
[43:39] Speaker 4: Don't see you don't see that. You don't see that
[43:42] Speaker 4: nuance and the green energy pushes.
[43:43] Speaker 2: It is very true that it's like electric cars. People
[43:49] Speaker 2: like to say that the EV is like being a
[43:51] Speaker 2: hippie and now you're back to nature and you're saving
[43:53] Speaker 2: the planet, ignoring the fact that it is the grid
[43:56] Speaker 2: which charges the lithium battery that runs the EV and
[43:59] Speaker 2: then we have to still develop better technologies for battery
[44:03] Speaker 2: manufacturing and recycling. Solar is the same, wins the same.
[44:07] Speaker 2: They're all going to be problematic, they're all going to
[44:10] Speaker 2: have their issues, but there is a lesser evil, and
[44:14] Speaker 2: we are seeing a resistance to the idea of evolving
[44:20] Speaker 2: how we create energy in this country. So no one
[44:24] Speaker 2: said they aren't flawed or problematic, but they also aren't
[44:28] Speaker 2: all equal. And I have seen that the people who
[44:32] Speaker 2: are more interested and these environmental concerns are people who
[44:37] Speaker 2: are on the left. More alarmingly, I see some people
[44:40] Speaker 2: who are part of the evangelical right who don't give
[44:43] Speaker 2: a shit because they think that Jesus is going to
[44:45] Speaker 2: show up next week and take everybody away, and he's
[44:48] Speaker 2: going to wipe the slate clean. This is a resource
[44:50] Speaker 2: we've been given dominion over. We get to use it
[44:53] Speaker 2: up and leave it in whatever state we choose. That
[44:56] Speaker 2: is an evangelical right thing. You and I can go
[44:59] Speaker 2: on and on and on, Thomas. I do appreciate you.
[45:03] Speaker 2: I I know we've had a spirited conversation here. I'm
[45:07] Speaker 2: going to and when I walk away, go back and
[45:09] Speaker 2: listen to this call, and I promise you I'm going
[45:12] Speaker 2: to do my best to assess, to assess the things
[45:16] Speaker 2: that you have said, and to try to approach them fairly.
[45:19] Speaker 2: And you know, I think that's what that's the responsible
[45:23] Speaker 2: thing to do. Would that be okay with you? Thomas?
[45:27] Speaker 4: That would be lovely And I really appreciate your time set.
[45:30] Speaker 2: No, yeah, you and I aren't enemies. I think we
[45:32] Speaker 2: just this is spirited debate. Okay, spirited debate.
[45:37] Speaker 4: Would you mind if I sent a list of my
[45:40] Speaker 4: favorite atheist conservatives to checked out and you can decide
[45:44] Speaker 4: whether you're worthy of you.
[45:46] Speaker 2: Here's a specific group of atheist conservatives that and they've
[45:51] Speaker 2: come after me online. And if the stuff you're going
[45:54] Speaker 2: to send me is anything like what I have seen
[45:56] Speaker 2: from them. Uh, we're not going to get very far. Uh.
[46:01] Speaker 2: They have, in my opinion, gotten sucked into even an
[46:06] Speaker 2: alt right black hole. And the fact that they are
[46:09] Speaker 2: atheists does not mean anything. Doesn't mean that they are
[46:12] Speaker 2: necessarily rationalist. It doesn't make them humanist. It just means
[46:16] Speaker 2: they got correct. The easiest question on the planet, is
[46:19] Speaker 2: there any evidence for God? So you can send me
[46:22] Speaker 2: a right wing atheist?
[46:25] Speaker 4: No, tell YouTubers or Instagram powers.
[46:27] Speaker 2: Is just I don't give a shit where they came from.
[46:32] Speaker 2: I'm saying that if they have gotten sucked into the
[46:36] Speaker 2: alt right machine, that's not going to purchase very much
[46:39] Speaker 2: with me. You're welcome to send me some links and
[46:43] Speaker 2: some names and I'll take a look. But I am
[46:45] Speaker 2: well familiar with what the right has been pitching. It's
[46:50] Speaker 2: what I do every day. Okay, okay, all.
[46:54] Speaker 4: Right, thank you for your time, man, appreciate you a
[46:57] Speaker 4: lovely day and.
[46:58] Speaker 7: Take it all right.
[46:59] Speaker 2: Thanks, thank you. Thomas. I spent thirty years in right
[47:03] Speaker 2: wing culture. I wrote a book called Confessions of a
[47:06] Speaker 2: Former Fox News Christian, which got into right wing issues,
[47:10] Speaker 2: specifically whether it was reproductive rights or the lack of
[47:14] Speaker 2: whether it was healthcare, foreign policy, gun control, the death penalty, etc.
[47:24] Speaker 2: Let me send you something that'll explain what the right
[47:28] Speaker 2: skeptics are saying. We'll I already know what the right
[47:32] Speaker 2: says and we do it every single day. So is
[47:38] Speaker 2: the responsible thing to say? All right, We'll send me
[47:40] Speaker 2: a list of people and what I'm supposed to go
[47:42] Speaker 2: read all their books? Or do I read all their books?
[47:48] Speaker 2: And who's got the bandwidth for that? But is there
[47:52] Speaker 2: a way to get into it where it's manageable? I
[47:56] Speaker 2: don't know what are your thoughts about this? I want
[48:05] Speaker 2: to call it? Is it Shana s h I n
[48:09] Speaker 2: a at five oh four? Yes, it's me, I said, I,
[48:15] Speaker 2: what's going on?
[48:16] Speaker 5: I have been Hey, I have been a fan of
[48:19] Speaker 5: you for since I've honestly you've helped me get out
[48:23] Speaker 5: of Christianity since I was like eighteen.
[48:25] Speaker 2: You're very kind.
[48:26] Speaker 5: I am a millennial. I have two children, a high
[48:32] Speaker 5: schooler and a fifth grader. And this is scary. This
[48:40] Speaker 5: is super scary. Yeah, my oldest son has in his
[48:45] Speaker 5: high school there is a club called Turning Point, and yeah,
[48:52] Speaker 5: they're everywhere, and I believe it or not, the teacher
[48:57] Speaker 5: who sponsors the.
[49:00] Speaker 3: Nast teacher.
[49:02] Speaker 5: So it's just mind boggling to me.
[49:05] Speaker 2: Is this the same Turning point that Charlie Kirk founded?
[49:08] Speaker 2: Is it an affiliate of Turning Point USA? Do you know?
[49:12] Speaker 5: Oh? Yes, yes, that is it.
[49:15] Speaker 4: That is it.
[49:15] Speaker 5: I see And when I so so when I listen
[49:18] Speaker 5: to you and you you know, you speak about free
[49:21] Speaker 5: speech and how you know we we do need to
[49:24] Speaker 5: allow the hateful speech, we do. I mean, that's it is,
[49:29] Speaker 5: that's that is what free speech is, right like south Park? Yeah, thank,
[49:38] Speaker 5: This is the.
[49:40] Speaker 4: Funny.
[49:41] Speaker 2: I'm losing your speech. I'm losing your.
[49:43] Speaker 5: Shame like hey, hey, sorry.
[49:47] Speaker 2: Hello, No, now I've got you back. But I didn't
[49:50] Speaker 2: want to miss anything critical that you're saying. So if
[49:53] Speaker 2: I'm understanding you, you know that we to the First
[49:58] Speaker 2: Amendment doesn't just cover the good stuff. It has to
[50:00] Speaker 2: cover the awful, awful, awful stuff. But as a mother
[50:04] Speaker 2: and as a human being, the power of that speech
[50:09] Speaker 2: is terrifying in this climate, especially that I hear that
[50:11] Speaker 2: right right, Yes.
[50:15] Speaker 6: Yes it is.
[50:17] Speaker 5: Honestly, I when when we talk about free speech, I think,
[50:24] Speaker 5: to the core, it's good to have. But when you look,
[50:29] Speaker 5: when we look back at you know, nineteen thirty three
[50:32] Speaker 5: through you know forty five. That's what That's what Hitler
[50:37] Speaker 5: ran on was free speech. He that's exactly what he
[50:42] Speaker 5: ran on, and and this administration is doing the same thing.
[50:47] Speaker 5: And that's that's exactly what they're doing with Charlie Kirk.
[50:50] Speaker 5: I mean, they're turning him into some kind of martyr.
[50:55] Speaker 2: It's sad that I think this way, but it's not
[50:59] Speaker 2: my fault that I think this way. I think this
[51:02] Speaker 2: is conditioned response. Charlie Kirk's assassination is a horror. It
[51:09] Speaker 2: is a horror of political violence that should be rejected
[51:12] Speaker 2: by all moral people. I don't think Donald Trump is
[51:15] Speaker 2: a moral person, and I honestly think he is rubbing
[51:19] Speaker 2: his hands with delight at this gift, because now they
[51:24] Speaker 2: have someone that they can use as a poster boy
[51:28] Speaker 2: as an excuse, they can exploit the assassination of Charlie
[51:31] Speaker 2: Kirk to then wage war on anyone and everyone that
[51:35] Speaker 2: they arbitrarily consider the enemies of America and the enemies
[51:39] Speaker 2: of God. Was it Matt who was it Matt Walsh
[51:42] Speaker 2: or Matt Foley or somebody was calling the left demonic?
[51:46] Speaker 2: Elon Musk called the left the Party of murder. This
[51:50] Speaker 2: is civil war language. And I understand how scared you
[51:53] Speaker 2: are because I definitely feel it. And I don't think
[51:58] Speaker 2: I'm a free speech absolutist. I think hitch once said that,
[52:02] Speaker 2: you know, go into a crowded movie theater in yell fire, fire,
[52:06] Speaker 2: fire fire. He did it during speech, as if that's protected.
[52:10] Speaker 2: I don't think that's I don't think that should be allowed.
[52:13] Speaker 2: It becomes a public safety issue, which reveals this weird
[52:17] Speaker 2: gray area. How do you define it? It's instance by instance,
[52:22] Speaker 2: it's subjective, it's contextual, it's all of these things. It's messy,
[52:25] Speaker 2: and human beings do not like messy.
[52:29] Speaker 3: Do we?
[52:31] Speaker 5: Right See, where I'm where I'm conflicted is in public school,
[52:41] Speaker 5: because I mean, I pay my taxes, I'm a firm
[52:43] Speaker 5: believer in public school. I like, I'm sending my kids
[52:48] Speaker 5: to public school, regardless of the fact that it's pretty
[52:51] Speaker 5: terrible now.
[52:52] Speaker 7: It's not.
[52:54] Speaker 5: It's not what it used to be, even when I
[52:56] Speaker 5: was in school in the nineties.
[52:58] Speaker 2: You know.
[53:00] Speaker 5: It's just I feel as though right wing media has
[53:08] Speaker 5: pretty much taken over our entire country, whether it be
[53:13] Speaker 5: seeping into high school or just seeping into left wing media.
[53:18] Speaker 5: It's like it's I read a while back, like the
[53:23] Speaker 5: spectrum of media and how right wing has pushed the
[53:27] Speaker 5: left so far right that the left is barely even
[53:32] Speaker 5: the left anymore. And I think that the response to
[53:40] Speaker 5: that push is not I don't think it's enough to
[53:48] Speaker 5: combat the right. If you understand what I'm saying. I
[53:51] Speaker 5: feel like the right is so hardcore and extreme it
[53:57] Speaker 5: that that I think it's gonna get really bad before
[54:01] Speaker 5: it gets any better. And that's just like the unfortunate
[54:04] Speaker 5: realization of myself and the you know, the thoughts on
[54:08] Speaker 5: all this.
[54:09] Speaker 2: I told Brian Dunning, a friend of mine, I said,
[54:11] Speaker 2: I'm just going to declare my own lot, my own lot,
[54:15] Speaker 2: my house, a sovereign nation, the United State of Sethistan,
[54:20] Speaker 2: and I'm going to just essentially dig a hole and
[54:23] Speaker 2: wait it out, because it's like you don't even want
[54:26] Speaker 2: to look out the windows these days. I knew it'd
[54:28] Speaker 2: be bad. You knew it would be bad, but we
[54:30] Speaker 2: had no idea to be this bad. Certainly this bad,
[54:33] Speaker 2: this fast. But I will be interested to see the
[54:37] Speaker 2: response of the no Kings protests coming up October eighteenth.
[54:41] Speaker 2: They're already promoting the hell out of it. Thousands of
[54:44] Speaker 2: locations have been established. We saw five million people last time.
[54:49] Speaker 2: I still think having our faces seen, one of them
[54:52] Speaker 2: voices heard, it's it feels good to do something. And
[54:57] Speaker 2: I think it's important for us to be a to
[55:00] Speaker 2: say that we didn't sit on our hands, but we
[55:03] Speaker 2: went out and sent a message. And at some point
[55:06] Speaker 2: I would like to think that these self preservationist politicians
[55:10] Speaker 2: will see the rising tide and having no shit moment
[55:13] Speaker 2: and even if they don't do it for the right reason.
[55:16] Speaker 5: I mean, that's what I That's what I told my husband.
[55:18] Speaker 5: My husband was very much wanted to sit on his hands.
[55:22] Speaker 5: He was very much like, I don't know, you know,
[55:26] Speaker 5: he kept looking at me with the side eye every
[55:29] Speaker 5: time I would bring up going to the protest safety though,
[55:33] Speaker 5: and he was happy. I think, so, yeah, I.
[55:37] Speaker 2: Think he's just you know, Natalie was worried about me.
[55:42] Speaker 2: She's like, this is Oklahoma. Yeah, you're going to take
[55:44] Speaker 2: that sign out to one of the most busy intersections
[55:47] Speaker 2: in this town. Are you worried about getting you know, hurt?
[55:50] Speaker 5: Oh? Oh, I can't. I don't know. That's like I
[55:53] Speaker 5: grew up in deep, deep self Louisiana, and yeah, I
[55:58] Speaker 5: don't think I would be able to do that. So
[56:00] Speaker 5: you are a brave one.
[56:01] Speaker 2: No I'm not brave, but I'm I'm I'm I just
[56:04] Speaker 2: can't not and I don't know.
[56:07] Speaker 5: I think that's how I feel.
[56:09] Speaker 2: In town that weekend. So I'm gonna try to take
[56:11] Speaker 2: my brand new spiffy sign that says, first they fascinate
[56:15] Speaker 2: the fools, then they muzzle the intelligent. It's got a
[56:18] Speaker 2: big cartoon of Trump on it. I'm gonna take it
[56:20] Speaker 2: out and just see if I get beat up, and
[56:22] Speaker 2: then I'll tell everybody what happens.
[56:23] Speaker 5: Shamna.
[56:24] Speaker 2: So hey, you hang in there. You this too shall pass.
[56:29] Speaker 2: I know it sounds like a bumper stick. I hope
[56:32] Speaker 2: it's but I think you're right. I think it's gonna be.
[56:34] Speaker 2: It's gonna get a lot worse. It's gonna get a
[56:37] Speaker 2: lot worse. And I don't even know what that means,
[56:39] Speaker 2: and I'm scared about what it means.
[56:41] Speaker 5: I know, and that's the scary part. Well, I can't
[56:44] Speaker 5: wait to see you in Albuquerque.
[56:47] Speaker 2: I will be there. I will be there for those
[56:50] Speaker 2: who want to know about all of my speaking events.
[56:52] Speaker 2: Sath Andrews dot com and then click on the speaking

[56:59] Speaker 2: you are a much appreciated so you know, keep the
[57:02] Speaker 2: non faith okay and hang in there. Definitely all right too,

[57:29] Speaker 2: and most people don't care much about that. They just
[57:32] Speaker 2: like being a supporter and I so appreciate it. Patreon
[57:35] Speaker 2: dot com, slash Seth Andrews Sense and a lot of callers.
[57:41] Speaker 2: This nervousness, you know, everybody's starting to drop. And the
[57:49] Speaker 2: voices that were speaking truth to power, that dared to
[57:56] Speaker 2: say the Emperor has no clothes, that were pains in
[58:01] Speaker 2: the ass, fly in the ointment, commentators on the culture.
[58:06] Speaker 2: They're having the rug pulled out from underneath them at
[58:09] Speaker 2: the highest level. What happens next is the pendulum start
[58:13] Speaker 2: to swing back, because finally people say hell no, I
[58:17] Speaker 2: mean they if Tucker Carlson says hell no, is there
[58:20] Speaker 2: a chance or is just this the next Domino? And
[58:26] Speaker 2: what we build years from now? Will have to be
[58:29] Speaker 2: built upon the ashes. I hear that fear. I hear
[58:35] Speaker 2: that fear. Vinny calling from Long Island six' three to, One,
[58:41] Speaker 2: welcome what's, up.
[58:44] Speaker 7: Seth i've been watching you and listening to you SINCE
[58:47] Speaker 7: i was in high. School. GEEZ i think you were
[58:49] Speaker 7: probably the most significant person when it comes to me
[58:51] Speaker 7: REALIZING i was an. Atheist AND i do want to
[58:54] Speaker 7: thank you a lot for. That seriously does mean a.
[58:56] Speaker 2: Lot thank. You you did all the, work, man BUT
[59:00] Speaker 2: i just tried to Encourage.
[59:01] Speaker 7: Yeah but You, YES i definitely did the. Work but
[59:05] Speaker 7: what's funny, too is LIKE i come from an area
[59:08] Speaker 7: Of Long island that has always been drum, country always
[59:11] Speaker 7: Has Fox news. On i'll say THIS i don't want
[59:13] Speaker 7: to say in my, background but most my relatives, believe
[59:16] Speaker 7: among other, Things obama's not born In, america that He's.
[59:20] Speaker 7: Kenyan they Think Michelle obama is a. Man they Think
[59:23] Speaker 7: George soros is the one that's controlling. Everything they, think you,
[59:26] Speaker 7: Know bill And Hillary clinton have people, Assassinated Joe biden
[59:30] Speaker 7: is you, know you, know all this other. Stuff and
[59:34] Speaker 7: they think That, joe That Donald trump is like The Supreme,
[59:37] Speaker 7: emperor and you, Know god is telling him to do.
[59:39] Speaker 7: That it's it's so oh so. Insane it's just absolutely.
[59:43] Speaker 7: INSANE i haven't seen this my whole. Life and what's worse,
[59:46] Speaker 7: too is that my father in particular has gone even
[59:50] Speaker 7: further rights as time has Gone he was originally like
[59:53] Speaker 7: a Moderate, democrat but as time has gone, on he
[59:56] Speaker 7: now thinks stuff like you, Know Emmanuel ron's. Wife as
[1:00:00] Speaker 7: a man that thinks, that you, Know january sixth was
[1:00:04] Speaker 7: created by you, Know Nancy, pelosi he thinks stuff like.
[1:00:09] Speaker 7: That he also thinks that the twenty twenty election was
[1:00:13] Speaker 7: stolen from. It it's it's so much crazy. Stuff and
[1:00:15] Speaker 7: now it's At Charlie kurchi assassination there he is so
[1:00:20] Speaker 7: full on trying to get every single enemy that he
[1:00:22] Speaker 7: sees as, canceled And trump packoes that and it really scares.
[1:00:26] Speaker 2: Me IS i don't know else to say? THIS i,
[1:00:31] Speaker 2: mean are they mentally? Ill like we've got a lot
[1:00:36] Speaker 2: of conspiracy theories my.
[1:00:37] Speaker 3: Dad.
[1:00:38] Speaker 2: YEAH i, MEAN i forgive me for asking the, question
[1:00:40] Speaker 2: but some of that stuff just is so. Untethered i'm,
[1:00:42] Speaker 2: like what's that.
[1:00:43] Speaker 7: About, well my dad has been paranoia his time has
[1:00:48] Speaker 7: gone on because he's been dealing with like health issues and,
[1:00:51] Speaker 7: whatnot and he listens to like a lot of the
[1:00:54] Speaker 7: issue comes from like, sports AND i do have a
[1:00:56] Speaker 7: background in sports, media and a lot of the right
[1:00:59] Speaker 7: wing kind of people tend to be very like, strength
[1:01:03] Speaker 7: like strength, strength, strength, champions you want. Loot And i'm
[1:01:07] Speaker 7: someone that is more kind to people that not perceived
[1:01:10] Speaker 7: as as successful but had a very huge impact in other.
[1:01:13] Speaker 7: Ways and people like him have kind of looked down
[1:01:16] Speaker 7: upon me as someone who wants losers or second place
[1:01:19] Speaker 7: or you, know the classic participation trophy. People and that
[1:01:23] Speaker 7: kind of plays Into trump BECAUSE i See trump as
[1:01:25] Speaker 7: this very, tough macho. Individual and he also has gone
[1:01:30] Speaker 7: to the point that he thinks That Joe biden is
[1:01:32] Speaker 7: someone that represents no morals at, all but yet he
[1:01:36] Speaker 7: Wants trump to come. Back he Wanted trump to come
[1:01:38] Speaker 7: back in because for some, reason he thinks That trump
[1:01:40] Speaker 7: will bring morality, back even though he's the epitome of
[1:01:44] Speaker 7: every one of the Seven Deadly sentence and breaks every
[1:01:46] Speaker 7: one of The Ten, commandments and he's not even a religious.
[1:01:48] Speaker 7: Person he just wants this power because he has this
[1:01:53] Speaker 7: nostalgia from the nineteen eighties that he can't. Shake and
[1:01:56] Speaker 7: has been a part of him simmer since he was,
[1:01:58] Speaker 7: little and you, know one of a big reason why
[1:02:02] Speaker 7: he even seals.
[1:02:02] Speaker 2: It oh forgive, ME i was just gonna. Say one
[1:02:05] Speaker 2: of the THINGS i find most astounding is when they
[1:02:09] Speaker 2: say That biden was an enemy Of. Christianity And i'm,
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: like that man took his presidential oath on a five
[1:02:16] Speaker 2: inch thick bible that had been in his family for
[1:02:18] Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty. Years it's this idea that he
[1:02:22] Speaker 2: was like the enemy Of christianity and anti religious, liberty.
[1:02:25] Speaker 2: Etc is just crazy.
[1:02:27] Speaker 7: Crazy it's hilarious, too because my grandmother is she definitely
[1:02:33] Speaker 7: is more intellectually, disabled but with, her like she, heard
[1:02:37] Speaker 7: her sultle skills are worse than that of like a.
[1:02:39] Speaker 7: Toddler that's been the case for her of my entire.
[1:02:42] Speaker 7: Life and she is super super, religious but she thinks
[1:02:44] Speaker 7: that Like biden is the Anti christ and everything like,
[1:02:47] Speaker 7: that which is really. Hilarious and like a lot of
[1:02:50] Speaker 7: my relatives are very, deeply deeply religious to a very unseen.
[1:02:54] Speaker 7: Level AND i try to walk a very fine line
[1:02:56] Speaker 7: when it comes To Charlie. KIRK i, MEAN i did
[1:02:58] Speaker 7: not Like Charlie kirk hated what he, said BUT i
[1:03:02] Speaker 7: thought his assassination was absolutely. Horrible BUT i also knew
[1:03:05] Speaker 7: for a fact that they were that a lot of
[1:03:07] Speaker 7: people are going to turn him to like a horse
[1:03:08] Speaker 7: vessel kind of. Figure like a lot of people on
[1:03:10] Speaker 7: the radio were literally comparing him to the Fucking, Jesus
[1:03:13] Speaker 7: like holy, shit, guys, like, yeah he accomplished a lot
[1:03:16] Speaker 7: at his young, age but these are there many people,
[1:03:19] Speaker 7: Too like you, know you're thinking Like, Mozart you're thinking a.
[1:03:21] Speaker 7: Braid you think of all these other people that also
[1:03:22] Speaker 7: accomplished a lot of things that such a young age,
[1:03:24] Speaker 7: Too but you don't see anyone comparing them To. Jesus
[1:03:28] Speaker 7: but Because Charlie kirk was A christian fundamentalist and, nationalists
[1:03:32] Speaker 7: we need to see him as a, hero, like, oh
[1:03:34] Speaker 7: he was killed first. Beliefs, no he was killed by
[1:03:37] Speaker 7: a twenty year old that was lost in his life
[1:03:39] Speaker 7: and killed him because he was radicalized by the world
[1:03:43] Speaker 7: that he was he grew up.
[1:03:45] Speaker 3: In that's what.
[1:03:45] Speaker 7: Happened it wasn't because but my dad thinks that, way
[1:03:49] Speaker 7: and so we want to See colbert and everything In Kimmel.
[1:03:54] Speaker 7: Hell back When biden was, president HE i remember him
[1:03:57] Speaker 7: straight up saying To, jensaki when is someone going to blow?
[1:04:00] Speaker 7: Over brings, Out like that's what he actually, said AND
[1:04:03] Speaker 7: i was disgusted by, it like a holy.
[1:04:05] Speaker 2: War if you dehumanize, people if you remove their humanity
[1:04:09] Speaker 2: and call them, demonic you can do whatever you want to,
[1:04:12] Speaker 2: them and you're. Justified and it is, scary.
[1:04:15] Speaker 7: Scary, like my dad isn't a religious person at. All my,
[1:04:19] Speaker 7: relatives though they're they're also really they're also really. Extreme
[1:04:23] Speaker 7: and but my, dad a big reason why he's, gone you,
[1:04:26] Speaker 7: know far, right is because he was radicalized by seeing
[1:04:30] Speaker 7: a couple of transgender people playing women's. Sports, now unlike
[1:04:33] Speaker 7: other people that are right, wing he actually cares about you,
[1:04:36] Speaker 7: know women's. Sports he's taught you, know girls sports in.
[1:04:40] Speaker 7: Schools he's watches THE. Wnba but for some, reason like
[1:04:45] Speaker 7: but you, know he like really hates transgender, People like
[1:04:48] Speaker 7: he thinks transgenderism is a, phase and he thinks that
[1:04:51] Speaker 7: The democrats are trying to indoctrinate people to think that,
[1:04:54] Speaker 7: Way like you really think they, Are like a lot
[1:04:57] Speaker 7: of my closest friends are, Transgender like DO i need
[1:05:00] Speaker 7: to like be worried for? Them because of people like
[1:05:03] Speaker 7: my father or other, relatives like NOW i get. It
[1:05:06] Speaker 7: it's just like has children's shows some fucking, compassion like like.
[1:05:12] Speaker 2: You, know they this is a culture of, boogeymen, Right
[1:05:15] Speaker 2: this is a culture where there everybody's coming to strip
[1:05:20] Speaker 2: everything they have and endanger their kids and Ruin america
[1:05:24] Speaker 2: and send us all To hell in a. Handbasket and
[1:05:27] Speaker 2: you know it's just, terrible, Right.
[1:05:29] Speaker 7: So so many of, them so many of them just
[1:05:32] Speaker 7: talk about the, children AND i, HONESTLY i don't think
[1:05:34] Speaker 7: they care about. CHILDREN i think they only care about
[1:05:35] Speaker 7: children because they want to indoctrinate those. Children that's WHAT i.
[1:05:38] Speaker 7: Think it's been that way SINCE i was, little because
[1:05:42] Speaker 7: like WHEN i see like bol O'Reilly Or Glenn beck
[1:05:44] Speaker 7: Or shawn Hay so on its form with the, children
[1:05:47] Speaker 7: the war On christmas and all this other, stuff it's, like,
[1:05:50] Speaker 7: really you think The, democrats you Think George soros And
[1:05:52] Speaker 7: Barack obama thinking about this stuff on a daily. BASIS
[1:05:55] Speaker 7: i remember when they were talking about From gazi twenty
[1:05:57] Speaker 7: four to, Seven, like, okay now That trump's back, In,
[1:06:01] Speaker 7: Okay you've been wanting to see these people arrested for.
[1:06:03] Speaker 7: Years just just at this point as much AS i
[1:06:06] Speaker 7: hate to. Say it's part me just want to see
[1:06:08] Speaker 7: these people, arrested just to shut these people, up because
[1:06:11] Speaker 7: this has been a talking point That i've been seen
[1:06:13] Speaker 7: in the news ever SINCE i was, Little like you're
[1:06:16] Speaker 7: saying That Bill clinton And Hillary clinton And Joe biden
[1:06:19] Speaker 7: And Barack obama And michelle but all this over and over.
[1:06:21] Speaker 7: Again are these evil? People and you know at this,
[1:06:25] Speaker 7: Point i'm just tired of. IT i don't want to
[1:06:27] Speaker 7: see them. Arrested but the reason WHY i would want
[1:06:29] Speaker 7: to see them arrested just shut them.
[1:06:31] Speaker 2: UP i don't WANT i don't. THINK i don't think
[1:06:34] Speaker 2: arrest is is the way. FORWARD i do. THINK i,
[1:06:38] Speaker 2: AGREE i, agree BUT i. Agree, okay all, right Well,
[1:06:43] Speaker 2: Vinnie i'm gonna move. On but thank you for expressing
[1:06:45] Speaker 2: yourself on the, show and thank you for the kind.
[1:06:47] Speaker 2: WORDS i.
[1:06:48] Speaker 7: APPRECIATE i appreciate. IT i appreciate, It. Seth AND i
[1:06:51] Speaker 7: don't want to see anyone, arrested But i'm just tired of.
[1:06:53] Speaker 7: It BUT i appreciate. You thank you for, Everything, seth
[1:06:55] Speaker 7: and keep up non, faith be very.
[1:06:57] Speaker 2: Kind we'll see you. Later take. Care you did damn
[1:07:02] Speaker 2: it for making me agree With Marjorie Taylor, green BECAUSE
[1:07:05] Speaker 2: i actually did for a hot, minute and she's, like
[1:07:09] Speaker 2: we should just divide The United. States these are irreconcilable.
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: Differences we should just have one side of the political
[1:07:18] Speaker 2: spectrum her on the other. Side. Here, NOW i know
[1:07:20] Speaker 2: this is like pie in the, sky extremely reductive fantasy type,
[1:07:24] Speaker 2: stuff BUT i have had this. Conversation what if we
[1:07:30] Speaker 2: all partitioned ourselves into this massive part of the geographic
[1:07:37] Speaker 2: landscape and this massive part of the geographic. Landscape And
[1:07:41] Speaker 2: i'll tell you what we'll. Do we'll pursue. Science we'll
[1:07:48] Speaker 2: develop clean energy and do our best to take care
[1:07:51] Speaker 2: of our. Resources we'll promote science based, education including the
[1:07:56] Speaker 2: teaching of evolution and vaccine, science. Etc we will provide
[1:08:03] Speaker 2: protections across the board for all minority. Groups we will
[1:08:09] Speaker 2: established sensible gun, legislation well. Regulated we're not going to ban,
[1:08:20] Speaker 2: guns but we're going to regulate them. Properly we're going
[1:08:24] Speaker 2: to take i would, say even drastic measures to try
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: to prevent the mass shootings that have become so common
[1:08:32] Speaker 2: that we forget them an hour after they, happen even
[1:08:36] Speaker 2: when they happen in our. Schools we're going to do
[1:08:40] Speaker 2: something about. It what's that. Line the definition of insanity
[1:08:45] Speaker 2: is to do the same thing over and over and
[1:08:48] Speaker 2: expect a different. Result, Right we're going to do something.
[1:08:50] Speaker 2: Different we're going to abolish the death. Penalty we're going
[1:08:58] Speaker 2: to focus on mental health issue. Use we're going to
[1:09:03] Speaker 2: educate the public about the, wide, wild amazing variations in
[1:09:08] Speaker 2: the human. Condition we're going to respect the planet and each.
[1:09:13] Speaker 2: Other we're going to build a humanistic. Country and all
[1:09:18] Speaker 2: of you over, here when you start dying of, disease
[1:09:27] Speaker 2: and when you get, polio and when you can't breathe
[1:09:32] Speaker 2: the air because you're choking on the, pollutants and when
[1:09:37] Speaker 2: your cost of living has gone through the, roof and
[1:09:39] Speaker 2: when you're at the mercy of the oligarchs and your,
[1:09:43] Speaker 2: speech which you thought was, free was actually not because
[1:09:46] Speaker 2: they did eventually come for. You when the price of
[1:09:52] Speaker 2: eggs didn't go down but, quadrupled because there's a monopoly on,
[1:09:58] Speaker 2: retail because there weren't proper. Regulations it wasn't straight up
[1:10:02] Speaker 2: las a fair capitalism where the people way at the
[1:10:06] Speaker 2: top got to manipulate everybody. Else when you need sense and,
[1:10:14] Speaker 2: science one day maybe you can come scratching on our
[1:10:18] Speaker 2: gate and we'll have a. CONVERSATION i know there were children.
[1:10:24] Speaker 2: INVOLVED i know there are people who would have no.
[1:10:26] Speaker 2: CHOICE i know that you can't control who your parents
[1:10:29] Speaker 2: are and what culture you're born. INTO i get, IT
[1:10:31] Speaker 2: i get. IT i. Understand i'm just, saying if we
[1:10:33] Speaker 2: were to be reductive and we were to have a
[1:10:35] Speaker 2: little sandbox fantasy for ten, seconds, Okay i'd like to
[1:10:39] Speaker 2: see how that social experiment plays. OUT i would like
[1:10:43] Speaker 2: to play that version of THE sims and then watch
[1:10:49] Speaker 2: and see what the result is after a ten to
[1:10:53] Speaker 2: twenty year. PERIOD i tell you right, NOW i don't
[1:11:00] Speaker 2: think it's going to be the. Right the worship of
[1:11:04] Speaker 2: billionaires is not going to get us where we need to.
[1:11:06] Speaker 2: Go science denial is not going to get us where
[1:11:09] Speaker 2: we need to. Go Vilifying fauci's not going to get
[1:11:12] Speaker 2: us where we need to. Go invoking The book Of
[1:11:15] Speaker 2: genesis is not going to get us where we need to.
[1:11:18] Speaker 8: Go hang, On i'm running out of time. Here SO
[1:11:31] Speaker 8: i got to find something that we haven't already spoken.
[1:11:35] Speaker 2: About nine two, zero is?
[1:11:43] Speaker 7: It?
[1:11:43] Speaker 2: Bonnie?
[1:11:48] Speaker 6: Yeah, yes Welcome.
[1:11:50] Speaker 2: Bonnie what's on your? Mind?
[1:11:52] Speaker 6: YEAH i was, Hi, YEAH i Like Jimmy. KIMMEL i
[1:11:59] Speaker 6: watched that segment over and over, again and he didn't
[1:12:02] Speaker 6: say anything bad about what's his Name. Kirk he was
[1:12:11] Speaker 6: talking about the right making political points over the, murderer you,
[1:12:17] Speaker 6: know because they were trying to they were trying the
[1:12:21] Speaker 6: right was trying to paint the murder as being a
[1:12:24] Speaker 6: leftist right away before they even knew anything about, him
[1:12:28] Speaker 6: and they were making the, left The democrats all looked
[1:12:32] Speaker 6: like the enemy right. Away and so WHEN i was
[1:12:35] Speaker 6: Watching jimmy, WELL i went back To hulu AND i
[1:12:38] Speaker 6: watched The Monday Night show, again you know where the
[1:12:42] Speaker 6: reason why he got kicked, off and he did not
[1:12:45] Speaker 6: say anything bad About Charlie kirk at. All and then
[1:12:49] Speaker 6: he was kind of poking in front of the fact
[1:12:52] Speaker 6: that when somebody Asked Donald, trump you know how he
[1:12:55] Speaker 6: was dealing with it right, away he went to the.
[1:12:57] Speaker 6: Ballroom So Jimmy kimmel, said as you, know he was
[1:13:02] Speaker 6: dealing with the grief like a four year old would
[1:13:04] Speaker 6: deal with the grief of a, fish you, know. Goldfish
[1:13:09] Speaker 6: and so then it made me mad BECAUSE i Like
[1:13:13] Speaker 6: Jimmy kimmel a. LOT i, MEAN i actually like him
[1:13:16] Speaker 6: better Than Stephen colbert even and NOW i hate watching
[1:13:22] Speaker 6: Got field On. FOX i can't Stand fox because they're Still,
[1:13:28] Speaker 6: republican and SO i don't watch. It so people that
[1:13:33] Speaker 6: people that don't Like Jimmy kimmel because he doesn't Like,
[1:13:37] Speaker 6: trump they can turn the. Channel it's, LIKE i don't
[1:13:42] Speaker 6: watch Got field BECAUSE i don't like what he has to,
[1:13:45] Speaker 6: say which, is you, know Pro. Republican SO i don't watch.
[1:13:50] Speaker 6: It NOW i can't Watch Jimmy kimmel because because he
[1:13:55] Speaker 6: made a, comment you, know he commented about the fact
[1:13:59] Speaker 6: That Donald trump acted like a four year old when
[1:14:03] Speaker 6: it comes to grief because he didn't seem affected at,
[1:14:05] Speaker 6: all because he switched right away to the to the,
[1:14:09] Speaker 6: ballroom you.
[1:14:11] Speaker 4: Know so that's.
[1:14:12] Speaker 6: Upsetting that's upsetting to me BECAUSE i always look forward
[1:14:15] Speaker 6: To Jimmy kimball BECAUSE i like watching. Him now there's
[1:14:20] Speaker 6: a young fellow that just put up a video about
[1:14:22] Speaker 6: a day ago and it's, secular secular, talk and he
[1:14:30] Speaker 6: said that there is a mass shooting in a homeless. Camp,
[1:14:35] Speaker 6: now that guy On, fox he made a comment about
[1:14:38] Speaker 6: killing homeless people they don't want to go to a,
[1:14:41] Speaker 6: shelter and yet he's still working. THERE i, MEAN i
[1:14:45] Speaker 6: really don't get. It And it is scary to. Me
[1:14:48] Speaker 6: AND i turned On The view today because IT'S, abc
[1:14:52] Speaker 6: AND i know That Whoopi goldberg doesn't Like trump, either
[1:14:56] Speaker 6: and they made no comment about, it AND I Jimmy
[1:15:00] Speaker 6: KIMMEL'S abc and The view made no comment about. It
[1:15:03] Speaker 6: and one of the reasons WHY i watched The view
[1:15:06] Speaker 6: is BECAUSE i like hearing them talk about topics like.
[1:15:10] Speaker 6: That Now i'm afraid that they're all going to be
[1:15:13] Speaker 6: their hands are going to be tied, now and none
[1:15:16] Speaker 6: of them are going to be able to, comment you,
[1:15:19] Speaker 6: know if they're, critical because what Be goldberg is quite
[1:15:23] Speaker 6: critical Of Donald. Trump and so Now i'm afraid that
[1:15:27] Speaker 6: all of these, shows their hands are going to be
[1:15:29] Speaker 6: tied and they won't be able to say, anything you,
[1:15:32] Speaker 6: know are the show's going to get canceled? Now Jimmy
[1:15:35] Speaker 6: kimmel had hundreds and hundreds of people that lost their
[1:15:38] Speaker 6: jobs because of, This and, YEAH i Mean fox can
[1:15:44] Speaker 6: they can say anything they want and nothing's going to
[1:15:47] Speaker 6: happen to. Him and that's my.
[1:15:48] Speaker 2: RANT i, Gotcha my. Gotcha, well you have a forum
[1:15:52] Speaker 2: to rant on and you're, Ranted, Well bonnie AND i hear,
[1:15:56] Speaker 2: you and so does the. Audience so thanks for calling
[1:15:59] Speaker 2: the show.
[1:15:59] Speaker 6: Today thank you for letting me.
[1:16:04] Speaker 2: Talk oh you bet, you we'll see. It you know
[1:16:09] Speaker 2: what bugs me the? People you can understand somebody who
[1:16:20] Speaker 2: goes along and doesn't criticize the media conglomerate that employs
[1:16:28] Speaker 2: them because maybe they don't have, resources they don't have
[1:16:32] Speaker 2: a place to, land they may lose. Everything i'm not
[1:16:36] Speaker 2: sure this excuses the abandoning of one's, convictions but, okay
[1:16:41] Speaker 2: let's look at it. Logistically WHAT i don't understand is
[1:16:45] Speaker 2: when people who have more money than you AND i
[1:16:48] Speaker 2: will see in a lifetime and are set for, life
[1:16:52] Speaker 2: when they say and do nothing when they go. Along
[1:16:58] Speaker 2: that blows my blows my. Mind they can cancel every
[1:17:06] Speaker 2: platform that you are on and you would still be
[1:17:09] Speaker 2: worth five hundred million. Dollars you could go, anywhere you
[1:17:15] Speaker 2: could do anything your. Set you will pay almost no,
[1:17:20] Speaker 2: penalty except you won't have a conduit on this particular media.
[1:17:23] Speaker 2: Outlet why aren't you saying? More that does blow my?
[1:17:29] Speaker 2: Mind that blows my. MIND i must beg your. FORGIVENESS
[1:17:35] Speaker 2: i am out of. Time, WELL i have another conversation about.
[1:17:40] Speaker 2: THIS i have a feeling AND i Have Dave, farina
[1:17:44] Speaker 2: a science educator who is going to talk About, well
[1:17:48] Speaker 2: we're going to talk about some of the stuff that
[1:17:50] Speaker 2: came up on the show. Today and, Honestly i'm going
[1:17:52] Speaker 2: to put myself in as a let you be a
[1:17:55] Speaker 2: steward of me as a. HOST i HOPE i earlier
[1:17:58] Speaker 2: Handled thomas. FAIRLY i do tend to interrupt WHEN i
[1:18:03] Speaker 2: begin to hear people tell me what the right, says
[1:18:08] Speaker 2: AND i don't have a lot of patience for, it
[1:18:10] Speaker 2: perhaps to a. Fault so IF i handled that, UNFAIRLY
[1:18:15] Speaker 2: i want to, know let me know in the. COMMENTS
[1:18:17] Speaker 2: i want to be a good steward of this, show
[1:18:19] Speaker 2: And i'm going to make sure That i'm a good
[1:18:20] Speaker 2: steward of these, conversations even PEOPLE i disagree. With but
[1:18:24] Speaker 2: having Written Fox news christian and coming out of thirty
[1:18:26] Speaker 2: years Of WILLIAM. F, Buckley Ronald, reagan And colter Rush
[1:18:31] Speaker 2: Limbaugh Fox News, CONSERVATISM i know what the right says
[1:18:35] Speaker 2: and thinks because not just, that BUT i do it every.
[1:18:39] Speaker 2: DAY i, commented we literally are dismantling these ideas which
[1:18:43] Speaker 2: are imbued With. Christianity they are like the milkshake and
[1:18:50] Speaker 2: you're trying to remove one, ingredient remove the milk from
[1:18:53] Speaker 2: the milkshake, right Remove christianity from today's right. Wing i'm,
[1:18:57] Speaker 2: sorry you just can't do. It there is a blend
[1:18:59] Speaker 2: and that land is. Set it is. There you cannot unmix.
[1:19:02] Speaker 2: It it is the way that it. Is and SO
[1:19:05] Speaker 2: i do tend to IF i feel like someone, say
[1:19:08] Speaker 2: IF i feel like it's a waste of, TIME i
[1:19:09] Speaker 2: do tend, to you, know hop in. There BUT i
[1:19:12] Speaker 2: may have overreacted IF i. Did let me, know you,
[1:19:14] Speaker 2: KNOW i genuinely want to make SURE i was a
[1:19:17] Speaker 2: good steward of. That and if the idea is, reasonable
[1:19:21] Speaker 2: and it's, not, hey read this tome and then watch,
[1:19:25] Speaker 2: this you, know series of long videos by somebody who
[1:19:29] Speaker 2: happens to be right. WING i don't respond well to.
[1:19:31] Speaker 2: THAT i think the ideas themselves need to stand on their.
[1:19:35] Speaker 2: Own it's almost the equivalent is when somebody sends you
[1:19:38] Speaker 2: a religious book and, says, hey, hey read you know what's?
[1:19:44] Speaker 2: That what's That LEE strobyl read this book By Lee.
[1:19:47] Speaker 2: Strobel it'll explain. Everything And i'm just Like Jesus, christ
[1:19:50] Speaker 2: you got to be kidding. Me by the Way i've
[1:19:52] Speaker 2: Read Lee, STROBEL i so appreciate, you AND i hear your. Frustration, no, no,
[1:19:58] Speaker 2: No we'll talk more about, talking more speech about. Speech
