## Transcript

[0:05] Speaker 1: The Thinking Atheist. It's not a person, it's a symbol,
[0:09] Speaker 1: an idea.
[0:10] Speaker 2: The population of atheists in this country is going through the.
[0:13] Speaker 1: Rule, rejecting faith, pursuing knowledge, challenging the sacred. If I
[0:19] Speaker 1: tell the truth, it's because I tell the truth, not because.
[0:22] Speaker 3: I put my hand on a book and made a wish.
[0:25] Speaker 1: And working together for a more rational world.
[0:29] Speaker 2: Take the risk of thinking. Feel so much more happiness.
[0:32] Speaker 2: Truth Usian wisdom will come to you that way.
[0:35] Speaker 1: Assume nothing, question everything, and start thinking. This is the
[0:43] Speaker 1: Thinking Atheist podcast hosted by Seth Andrews.
[0:56] Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna beg your indulgence. You know I'm always
[0:58] Speaker 2: begging your indulgence. Have you noticed I'm always throwing myself
[1:03] Speaker 2: at your feet and saying, Okay, I need a little understanding,
[1:07] Speaker 2: and so I'm going to do it again today. This
[1:09] Speaker 2: is the audio from a recent YouTube live stream. So
[1:14] Speaker 2: I've launched this Monday night, six pm Central video live
[1:18] Speaker 2: stream called Seth Andrews on a Tangent. And you're familiar
[1:22] Speaker 2: with the format because I do about twenty twenty five
[1:25] Speaker 2: minutes on whatever subject is on my mind, and then
[1:29] Speaker 2: take your calls on whatever subject you want to talk
[1:33] Speaker 2: about and of course we were talking about the Pope,
[1:37] Speaker 2: the Supreme Pontiff, who is in critical condition. He's in
[1:41] Speaker 2: very poor health, and I had thoughts about the church
[1:44] Speaker 2: and the Pontiffs. So I start with that, and I'm
[1:46] Speaker 2: going to play you the audio of that for today.
[1:51] Speaker 2: And there are two reasons. First, it was just a
[1:54] Speaker 2: great show and I thought the podcast audience would really
[1:58] Speaker 2: enjoy it. Second, Lee, I need to free up a
[2:02] Speaker 2: little bandwidth because of a very busy month of March,
[2:07] Speaker 2: I am traveling. I'm a little scared about getting on
[2:10] Speaker 2: a plane these days, watching the headlines. Every time I
[2:16] Speaker 2: wake up, there's a new incident. This plane crashed into
[2:20] Speaker 2: a chopper. This plane landed and freaking flipped over and
[2:24] Speaker 2: caught fire. This plane almost crashed into another plane on
[2:29] Speaker 2: the tarmac. I was telling Forrest Valci, who's also doing
[2:33] Speaker 2: a lot of travel, I'm like, how long is the
[2:36] Speaker 2: drive from Oklahoma to Phoenix? You know, Tulsa to Phoenix.
[2:41] Speaker 2: I'm tempted, Tulsa to our land. You know what, I'm
[2:45] Speaker 2: gonna look it up. Drive time Tulsa to Orlando, Florida.
[2:52] Speaker 2: Let's see, seventeen hours, forty eight minutes, one two hundred
[2:58] Speaker 2: and twenty point eight eight miles. I would normally have scoffed,
[3:03] Speaker 2: but lately, you know, eighteen hours didn't sound all that
[3:08] Speaker 2: long to me. Somebody posted a meme and said, I
[3:13] Speaker 2: think we should renormalize everybody breaking into applause on the
[3:16] Speaker 2: plane after it lands. You know, that's kind of how
[3:19] Speaker 2: I feel. But anyway, I know it's say statistically, it's
[3:22] Speaker 2: still the sleafest way to travel. I know all that.
[3:24] Speaker 2: This is just my emotional side, my lizard brain that's
[3:28] Speaker 2: been thinking about it. But Secular Arizona invited me to
[3:33] Speaker 2: stand on the capital steps and speak about secular values,
[3:37] Speaker 2: state church separation and why all the bullshit going on
[3:41] Speaker 2: with the Christian Nationalists and the Zealots and everybody's trying
[3:45] Speaker 2: to turn Arizona and the other forty nine states into
[3:49] Speaker 2: a freaking Christian church. How they are betraying the Constitution,
[3:54] Speaker 2: the intent to the founders and pretty much all of us.
[3:57] Speaker 2: So I'm honored. I'm going to go down there and
[3:59] Speaker 2: do that on Thursday the sixth, ten o'clock in the morning.
[4:04] Speaker 2: The weekend of March the fifteenth, Orlando is the Florida
[4:08] Speaker 2: freethont Conference. I'm going to be officiating a wedding in
[4:12] Speaker 2: San Antonio near the end of the month, getting into
[4:15] Speaker 2: the month of April. It's going to be crazy anyway,
[4:17] Speaker 2: with all of the events on the calendar, too many
[4:19] Speaker 2: for me to mention here in detail. Phoenix, Orlando, Alexandria, Virginia, Minneapolis, Calgary, Alberta, Seattle, Washington, Wichita, Nashville, Sarnia, Ontario,
[4:35] Speaker 2: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. All of these and others as
[4:39] Speaker 2: they are scheduled. You can find the details and links
[4:43] Speaker 2: at the Thinkingatheist dot com slash events. So today's audio
[4:50] Speaker 2: from a recent live stream is going to allow me
[4:53] Speaker 2: to finish my speech or the Capitol steps in Phoenix,
[4:57] Speaker 2: and then I will play that for you when I return.
[5:00] Speaker 2: Thank you so much for listening. Good evening, everybody. I
[5:18] Speaker 2: hope you're safe and well. Been watching the headlines about
[5:22] Speaker 2: so much going on in the world, but people are
[5:25] Speaker 2: talking about the Pope. So that's what I wanted to
[5:27] Speaker 2: talk about here in the opening monologue. As we wait
[5:30] Speaker 2: for people to call in on the switchboard, if there's
[5:32] Speaker 2: something that is on your mind you want to chit
[5:34] Speaker 2: chat about, please do so. Pope Francis eighty eight years old.
[5:39] Speaker 2: He's in the hospital critical condition, double pneumonia, and he's
[5:42] Speaker 2: having some kidney breakdown, apparently some renal issues, and you
[5:48] Speaker 2: know he's eighty eight. So now you and I are
[5:51] Speaker 2: having this conversation like, okay, all right, is this when
[5:55] Speaker 2: it begins again? Somebody on Facebook said that we had
[5:58] Speaker 2: been through four pope in our lifetimes. Depending on your age,
[6:02] Speaker 2: that seems like a lot of popes. That's many popes
[6:05] Speaker 2: in our lifetime. And if we lose the pope, then
[6:09] Speaker 2: it's time for the papal conclave to come in and
[6:12] Speaker 2: select a new pope. Now, if you've seen the film
[6:16] Speaker 2: Conclave with Ray Fines, you've already had a sneak peek
[6:19] Speaker 2: and do a little bit of what it's like behind
[6:21] Speaker 2: the scenes. But I have a problem with pope selection
[6:26] Speaker 2: on a number of fronts. First of all, and this
[6:28] Speaker 2: is true with the canonization of the Bible books and
[6:30] Speaker 2: so much more. Why are human beings voting on God's will?
[6:37] Speaker 2: That God's will? Why would you need to vote? And
[6:41] Speaker 2: then why would there ever be a disagreeing vote? If
[6:44] Speaker 2: the spirit was guiding all of these faith leaders, wouldn't
[6:48] Speaker 2: they be in unison wouldn't there be unanimity. Why is
[6:52] Speaker 2: it only men they get to vote on God's will?
[6:56] Speaker 2: Where are the women? Why do they have to vote
[6:59] Speaker 2: in a locked room? The ceremoniously go and lock the door.
[7:03] Speaker 2: What's that about? Why does it have to be a
[7:05] Speaker 2: secret vote? What's that about? I don't understand? And who
[7:09] Speaker 2: came up with the culty batshit ritual for pope selection.
[7:15] Speaker 2: I wrote about this in my twenty fifteen book Sacred Cows.
[7:18] Speaker 2: I cannot believe it's been ten years since Sacred Cows
[7:22] Speaker 2: came out. The hettle chapter on the pope and some
[7:26] Speaker 2: wild wanky Catholic tradition specific we talked about pope selection. Yeah,
[7:33] Speaker 2: and this was two years after Benedict had had abdicated.
[7:38] Speaker 2: He didn't die. Normally, the pope has to kick off
[7:41] Speaker 2: and then you replace the dead pope and one of
[7:45] Speaker 2: the traditions and the church denies this, but it has
[7:49] Speaker 2: long been rumored that there is a position in the
[7:53] Speaker 2: Catholic hierarchy for someone called the Camerlengo. And I am
[7:58] Speaker 2: not kidding, but according to many who say that they
[8:04] Speaker 2: are informed about the history of the Church, when a
[8:07] Speaker 2: pope dies, there is a designated camera lengo, someone who
[8:12] Speaker 2: goes into the room where the dead pope is lying
[8:15] Speaker 2: and they tap him three times on the head with
[8:19] Speaker 2: a hammer, just to make sure he's dead. If it's
[8:28] Speaker 2: not true, it needs to be true. And how do
[8:32] Speaker 2: I get that job? Who gets to knock a hammer
[8:35] Speaker 2: on the dead but just tap him? Who gets to
[8:38] Speaker 2: do that job? I want to be a camera lingo. Anyway,
[8:41] Speaker 2: the church is kind of like, oh, well, we don't
[8:44] Speaker 2: really do that. Let them continue to deny. I will
[8:48] Speaker 2: continue to believe that it still goes on today. But
[8:52] Speaker 2: when Benedict abdicated, they had to go and they had
[8:54] Speaker 2: to find a new pope, and so they began this
[8:56] Speaker 2: wacky wanky ritual one hundred and fourteen men and go
[9:00] Speaker 2: in the papal conclave and they sit in here in
[9:03] Speaker 2: this room, and they cast their ballots, and then they
[9:07] Speaker 2: count the ballots, and they take the pellets and they
[9:09] Speaker 2: put them in this will fire box and burn the ballots.
[9:12] Speaker 2: And if they haven't agreed on who the new pope
[9:15] Speaker 2: is going to be, they have these canisters that they
[9:17] Speaker 2: shove into a furnace with a pipe that goes out
[9:20] Speaker 2: the top of the building, and the color of the
[9:22] Speaker 2: smoke that goes out the top communicates to the rest
[9:26] Speaker 2: of the world whether or not they have been successful
[9:30] Speaker 2: in designating a new replacement Supreme Pontiff. Black smoke means, ah, ow,
[9:37] Speaker 2: we have no pope. White smoke is what we want. Now.
[9:42] Speaker 2: What blows my mind is this with every pope selection, actually,
[9:48] Speaker 2: with every pope death, appointment and selection whatever, the media
[9:53] Speaker 2: goes nuts. It is like the lead story on all
[9:58] Speaker 2: the major networks, national networks, many local networks, the Pope,
[10:03] Speaker 2: the Pope, the Pope, the Pope, and they have cameras
[10:08] Speaker 2: drained on the chimney coming out of the papal conclave
[10:12] Speaker 2: voting area. And when they see the black smoke, I
[10:16] Speaker 2: mean you can just watch. You can just watch the smoke.
[10:19] Speaker 2: It's black twenty four to seven. And there are people
[10:23] Speaker 2: who leave this window up waiting for the moment when
[10:26] Speaker 2: the black smoke turns to white smoke, signifying yes, a
[10:30] Speaker 2: vote has been unanimously received, we have a pope. I
[10:37] Speaker 2: just don't understand it. And then they celebrate with cheers
[10:40] Speaker 2: and tears and fanfare over a selection that affects the
[10:44] Speaker 2: everyday lives of nobody. Nobody. Yeah, you think about how
[10:57] Speaker 2: little attention most Catholics act actually pay to the church.
[11:02] Speaker 2: We know that most practicing Catholics are not really practicing.
[11:05] Speaker 2: And we also know that the Catholic Church does not
[11:10] Speaker 2: promote or encourage Bible literacy. You know you're not. They
[11:15] Speaker 2: don't prompt people go and dive into the scriptures and
[11:19] Speaker 2: glean truths and we will come back and discuss and
[11:21] Speaker 2: debate richer in our knowledge of Christ. They don't do that.
[11:25] Speaker 2: You go in, you sit down, your genuflect, and you
[11:28] Speaker 2: do whatever, and they dole out a few more souls,
[11:31] Speaker 2: and then you go off to your beer and bingo. Right,
[11:33] Speaker 2: you're done. And then you can send as much as
[11:37] Speaker 2: you want and hit the confessional reset. Slates wiped clean.
[11:41] Speaker 2: Now I can go out and I can do all
[11:42] Speaker 2: the shit I want till the next time I confess.
[11:44] Speaker 2: This is the catholicture. But we know that a huge
[11:48] Speaker 2: percentage of people in the Catholic Church ignore most of
[11:52] Speaker 2: the stuff the Catholic Church tells them to do. Don't divorce.
[11:58] Speaker 2: They're like, screw, I'm going to sign the paper right,
[12:02] Speaker 2: let's separate. I'm done. No women in leadership. How many
[12:07] Speaker 2: of the women who are Catholics have positions or jobs
[12:10] Speaker 2: which include women in leadership positions. There are offshoot to
[12:17] Speaker 2: the Catholic Church that have elected or appointed or allowed
[12:21] Speaker 2: priests who are female. They stand against the whole of
[12:26] Speaker 2: the Catholic the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican. Intoxication is
[12:31] Speaker 2: a sin. Catholics are like, oh, that's terrible, past the
[12:34] Speaker 2: wine and weed. Please LGBT people being gay as a sin.
[12:41] Speaker 2: You think most Catholics give a shit whether somebody is
[12:44] Speaker 2: hetero or non hetero. They just don't. What the Catholic
[12:49] Speaker 2: Church does has almost no meaning in their everyday lives.
[12:54] Speaker 2: Right cultural Catholicism. You show up, you attend Mass, you
[12:59] Speaker 2: and dory and smile, big hog, great sermon, sir or
[13:03] Speaker 2: ma'am if you're in one of the more progressive pods.
[13:07] Speaker 2: And then you go back and you know, you might
[13:09] Speaker 2: wear the crucifix, you might have a picture of the
[13:12] Speaker 2: Virgin Mary or something. It's really a non thing, which
[13:18] Speaker 2: might explain its popularity. A religion where you get to
[13:22] Speaker 2: be in the club without having to really do anything.
[13:29] Speaker 2: But people are interested, they're fascinated by the pope of
[13:32] Speaker 2: the religion. They largely ignore and people who are not.
[13:36] Speaker 2: Catholics are obsessed. People right now are like, what's the
[13:40] Speaker 2: condition of the Pope? And I don't wish any ill
[13:43] Speaker 2: will on Francis. I'm not that guy. I go back
[13:46] Speaker 2: and forth on Pope Francis, and I wrote about this
[13:49] Speaker 2: in Sacred Cows. We have seen over the last ten
[13:55] Speaker 2: years he would come forward and personally say something that
[14:01] Speaker 2: was more charitable than the church historically has said. He
[14:05] Speaker 2: would make a position or take a stand, or say
[14:08] Speaker 2: something really egalitarian, and we would be like, well, that
[14:12] Speaker 2: doesn't sound very Catholic. And then the church, you know,
[14:16] Speaker 2: the priests, the bishops, they would all lose their shit
[14:20] Speaker 2: and they all go behind closed doors, and he would
[14:22] Speaker 2: have to come out and kind of hem and haw
[14:24] Speaker 2: and be like, well, you know, the Catholic Church says
[14:27] Speaker 2: that the Pope is infallible, but infallible doesn't mean infallible,
[14:32] Speaker 2: and they've got all these wacky apologetics to define what
[14:36] Speaker 2: infallible means. So he's infallible except that he can make mistakes,
[14:40] Speaker 2: and when he says shit, they don't like that the church.
[14:43] Speaker 2: Then Hemsenhausen comes forward and says, well, actually we really
[14:47] Speaker 2: do judge gay people, but with Francis, despite the fact
[14:54] Speaker 2: that he is the head of a seventy three billion
[14:56] Speaker 2: dollar corporation with a long history of rapists. There has
[15:03] Speaker 2: been a shade of me, a part of me that
[15:04] Speaker 2: has wondered if he's frustrated that he's been constrained by
[15:10] Speaker 2: his position, you know, he's sort of locked in that
[15:14] Speaker 2: cocoon of tradition. Then I blink and I say, well,
[15:17] Speaker 2: he's the Pope. If he really wanted to, he could
[15:19] Speaker 2: take the stage say whatever he wanted, and by the
[15:21] Speaker 2: time he was out there, it'd be too late. And
[15:24] Speaker 2: I can't give the pope a pass on the crimes,
[15:27] Speaker 2: the heinous crimes of the Catholic Church. Right, And now
[15:32] Speaker 2: we're talking about an eighty eight year old pope with
[15:35] Speaker 2: double pneumonia who's really on the bubble. And we'll soon
[15:38] Speaker 2: and one way or the other he's going to pass away.
[15:42] Speaker 2: Watching that Monty Python skit the other day with John
[15:46] Speaker 2: Cleese with the dead parrot sketches the famous Moon, except
[15:50] Speaker 2: I substituted Pope. You know, you know he's passed on.
[15:56] Speaker 4: The pontiff is no more. He has ceased to be
[16:04] Speaker 4: He is an ex whop.
[16:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, someone needs to do that everyone's going to lose
[16:13] Speaker 2: their minds. The media is going to totally focus on
[16:15] Speaker 2: this when there's so much other shit going on in
[16:17] Speaker 2: the world. And then these creepy dudes dressed like eleventh
[16:20] Speaker 2: century chess pieces are going to go hide in a room.
[16:23] Speaker 2: A bunch of old, nasty, creepy, virgin people in robes
[16:26] Speaker 2: and big hats are going to cast votes to determine
[16:28] Speaker 2: what God's will is because God didn't show up to
[16:31] Speaker 2: a point the pope to begin with, and we are,
[16:33] Speaker 2: for some reason going to act like we care. Oh
[16:35] Speaker 2: thank you, we have a new pope. I'm just struck
[16:39] Speaker 2: by it. I'm really fascinated by it. Catholicism is not
[16:46] Speaker 2: known for normalcy anyway. Right. I talked in my speech
[16:49] Speaker 2: Blood Cult, which I gave at the American Atheist National
[16:52] Speaker 2: Convention two years ago, about communion and how Catholics believe
[16:59] Speaker 2: in transubstantiation. They believe that when you eat the cracker
[17:03] Speaker 2: and the wine, that this it transforms. God just miracles
[17:10] Speaker 2: it as it goes down the gullet. The cracker becomes
[17:14] Speaker 2: flesh and the wine becomes Jesus' blood. Now, this has
[17:17] Speaker 2: been totally refuted by any examination of stomach contents that
[17:22] Speaker 2: has ever been done. And there was an organization. They
[17:25] Speaker 2: were kind of a wacky organization. I think they were Rallian,
[17:29] Speaker 2: but they actually carried out an experiment and they monitored communion,
[17:35] Speaker 2: wine and crackers as they were eaten to see if
[17:38] Speaker 2: there was any transformation that took place. And of course
[17:41] Speaker 2: you're well ahead of me. You know that there was
[17:44] Speaker 2: no transformation that took place. And then the Catholic Church
[17:48] Speaker 2: is like, well, it changes, but it's not detectable as
[17:53] Speaker 2: a change. Yet another miracle. What an amazing thing that is.
[17:59] Speaker 2: It's physical properties transform. But the next miracle is is
[18:05] Speaker 2: that we can only perceive the original properties and not
[18:08] Speaker 2: perceive the transformation in our insect like mortality, our inability
[18:14] Speaker 2: to grasp the mind and miracles of God. The miracle
[18:18] Speaker 2: must look like it never happened. This is the Catholic Church.
[18:25] Speaker 2: It's crazy. And now we're coming up on Lent. Now,
[18:30] Speaker 2: if you don't know what Lent is, Lent mark Sert
[18:33] Speaker 2: honors the forty days that Jesus spent fasting and praying
[18:38] Speaker 2: in the wilderness before he embarked on his adult ministry.
[18:44] Speaker 2: It's funny thing about Jesus is in the gospels, like,
[18:48] Speaker 2: all right, he is now being carried in Mary's woem
[18:51] Speaker 2: if he pops out there, he is, he's in the manger.
[18:54] Speaker 2: He got you know, all of this fanfare, and then
[18:57] Speaker 2: he just freaking disappears for three decks. Nobody knows what
[19:02] Speaker 2: Jesus did. Then then he comes back. Aha, Now I
[19:06] Speaker 2: am preparing for my ministry on earth, now that I
[19:09] Speaker 2: am thirty years of age. And he wanders off into
[19:12] Speaker 2: the wilderness for forty days, he does not eat, and
[19:17] Speaker 2: he is occasionally tempted by the devil. The devil's tappening
[19:20] Speaker 2: on the shoulder, going, why don't you prove your god
[19:22] Speaker 2: like powers?
[19:23] Speaker 5: Man?
[19:23] Speaker 2: Come on, all you got to do is do this
[19:25] Speaker 2: and do that. And God is like, thou shalt not
[19:29] Speaker 2: tempt the Lord thy God. I don't know why you
[19:33] Speaker 2: wouldn't do it, or why would he care what Satan
[19:36] Speaker 2: thought in the first place? You know, why would you
[19:38] Speaker 2: even listen to the guy? But why not just do it?
[19:39] Speaker 2: All right? Fine, you want to see me do my thing.
[19:41] Speaker 2: I'm all powerful. Hey, how don't I stay like you
[19:44] Speaker 2: can just totally put him in his place. But beyond that,
[19:47] Speaker 2: this was the humility of Jesus as he communicated with God,
[19:52] Speaker 2: which meant God was talking to himself. I and the
[19:57] Speaker 2: Father are one. Jesus and God are the same person.
[20:03] Speaker 2: God impregnated the virgin, which wasn't a virgin, with himself
[20:08] Speaker 2: to have himself birthed so that himself or he could
[20:12] Speaker 2: then die and be resurrected himself to save us from
[20:16] Speaker 2: the hell that he himself created. So now Jesus is
[20:20] Speaker 2: in the wilderness, He's praying to himself, dear me, I
[20:26] Speaker 2: lie down here. I'd throw myself prostrate before the inhumility
[20:31] Speaker 2: to prepare me for my ministry on the earth. Please
[20:34] Speaker 2: me give me what I need to be able to
[20:37] Speaker 2: do this weird stuff for a god to say. Catholics
[20:43] Speaker 2: are like, oh, we got to honor this. Jesus made
[20:46] Speaker 2: such a great sacrifice. So for forty days, and it
[20:50] Speaker 2: starts on a different day every year, and I think
[20:54] Speaker 2: it's March the sixth, the fifth of the sixth this year,
[20:57] Speaker 2: and it goes through I want to say the eighteenth
[21:00] Speaker 2: or nineteenth of April. That's Easter weekend. And they say
[21:04] Speaker 2: I am going to practice Lent, and Lent begins with
[21:08] Speaker 2: ash Wednesday and you know what ash Wednesday is. You know,
[21:10] Speaker 2: I ever have to ask what the date is because
[21:12] Speaker 2: you see a bunch of fucking Catholics walking around with
[21:15] Speaker 2: ash smeared on their forehead. Ash in this in the
[21:18] Speaker 2: face of a cross. And this goes back to the
[21:20] Speaker 2: scripture right from Ashes. I'm trying to remember the paraphrase
[21:26] Speaker 2: of the verse, from Ashes thou hast come, and to Ash,
[21:31] Speaker 2: thou shalt return, something along those lines. It's in the
[21:36] Speaker 2: Book of Genesis. Somebody look it up for me and
[21:38] Speaker 2: check me. Ash Wednesday twenty four hours wearing ash like
[21:46] Speaker 2: it's totally normal, running around with an ash cross on
[21:49] Speaker 2: their freaking forehead. After that, they finish with thirty nine
[21:55] Speaker 2: days of denying themselves something. I'm giving this up for
[22:01] Speaker 2: lent and the shit they call denial. It just blows
[22:07] Speaker 2: my mind. Yes, I mean Jesus fasted in the desert
[22:12] Speaker 2: or well over one month by myself will honor his
[22:15] Speaker 2: great commitment. I will give up coffee. I will have
[22:21] Speaker 2: no coffee for forty days. Yes, Lord, I am obedient
[22:25] Speaker 2: in the eyes of God. I looked up websites. I
[22:29] Speaker 2: have a blog coming out about this in early March.
[22:33] Speaker 2: Doing my research I saw there are whole Catholic websites
[22:37] Speaker 2: with advice recommendations on shit that you can deny yourself
[22:43] Speaker 2: to qualify for giving it up for Lent. It's a punchline.
[22:49] Speaker 2: Just a few examples. I, in order to feel just
[22:53] Speaker 2: a measure of the discomfort of the Christ, will sleep
[22:56] Speaker 2: with fewer blankets on my bed for Lent. I will
[23:02] Speaker 2: eat these six ounce fil a, but I will I
[23:04] Speaker 2: will skip dessert for Lent. I will not go shopping.
[23:12] Speaker 2: I will not buy anything on Amazon for forty days
[23:16] Speaker 2: for Lent. I will not drink beer. I will not
[23:18] Speaker 2: use Facebook. I won't use cuss words. I refuse to
[23:23] Speaker 2: swear until after April to nineteenth, and then fuck it.
[23:32] Speaker 2: I will not take hot showers. There are people who
[23:37] Speaker 2: will only shower in cold water from March the fifth
[23:41] Speaker 2: to April the nineteenth because they think Jesus would be
[23:45] Speaker 2: honored by that. Explain it to me. One website recommended
[23:54] Speaker 2: that you only take the shitty parking spaces. Oh yeah,
[23:59] Speaker 2: oh look there's a slot right up front. No. No, I,
[24:03] Speaker 2: in my righteousness honoring the Christ, I will go way
[24:07] Speaker 2: out here to the bf E and I'm going to
[24:10] Speaker 2: make myself walk three hundred yards, because that's what an
[24:14] Speaker 2: obedient and faithful servant would do. Bad parking for God,
[24:22] Speaker 2: you cannot make this shit up. So if the pope dies,
[24:27] Speaker 2: well there be some kind of a I don't know,
[24:29] Speaker 2: sacrificial mourning ritual and the grieving process.
[24:33] Speaker 6: Oh Francis has postive. I will now park in the
[24:40] Speaker 6: parking lot of a completely different retail establishment and.
[24:45] Speaker 4: Walk a half a mile.
[24:50] Speaker 2: Oh, thank you Jesus. Mostly, I'm just struck by how
[24:58] Speaker 2: often we people are just distracted by the bright shiny thing,
[25:02] Speaker 2: aren't we. You know, people are starving in the streets.
[25:06] Speaker 2: You got fascism rampantly running in the United States. You
[25:12] Speaker 2: got uh was it NATO or the UN. I'm trying
[25:17] Speaker 2: to think who had who today voted to condemn Russia
[25:21] Speaker 2: for its invasion of Ukraine, and the United States was like,
[25:25] Speaker 2: we didn't. We voted against it. Our own presidents calling
[25:29] Speaker 2: Ukraine a dictator for being invaded. It's like calling the
[25:33] Speaker 2: rape victim the predator. You know what, if you address provocatively,
[25:37] Speaker 2: you had it coming. That's exactly what Trump is doing
[25:40] Speaker 2: with freaking Ukraine. We've got an anti vaxer in charge
[25:44] Speaker 2: of health. We've got conspiracy theorists running rampant in the FBI.
[25:49] Speaker 2: We've got Elon Musk and his doge hackers, one of
[25:52] Speaker 2: them with the nickname Big Balls. I think, wait a minute,
[25:56] Speaker 2: I think he was reassigned to some kind of a
[25:57] Speaker 2: special advisor position. These people, they're doing a tap dance.
[26:02] Speaker 2: They're playing the sims with our financial information. The whole
[26:05] Speaker 2: world's on fire. And if this guy dies, the planet
[26:10] Speaker 2: of nearly eight billion people is going to put on
[26:14] Speaker 2: their twenty four hours smoke cams and they are going
[26:17] Speaker 2: to be obsessed waiting for the moment when the black
[26:21] Speaker 2: cloud turns white because a bunch of creepy old Catholic
[26:27] Speaker 2: virgin dudes voted somebody else in. It's just bizarre to
[26:33] Speaker 2: me anyway. In my heart, I wish Francis no ill Will.
[26:38] Speaker 2: I mean, part of me's thinking eighty eight is a
[26:40] Speaker 2: pretty good run. What's the average a life span of
[26:44] Speaker 2: of the American men. I think it's seventy seven something
[26:48] Speaker 2: like that. You know, you make eighty eight, I mean,
[26:53] Speaker 2: you passed your expiration date by eleven years. Powell, that's
[26:57] Speaker 2: pretty good. And if you believe in heaven, there's a
[26:59] Speaker 2: part already waiting for you anyway. So I mean, why
[27:02] Speaker 2: are people grieving? And it's not like people knew him
[27:05] Speaker 2: personally anyway, So if he passes away, why would there
[27:08] Speaker 2: be wailing at the Vatican steps. I don't understand any
[27:10] Speaker 2: of that, but it looks to be the season where
[27:14] Speaker 2: we may see the people conclave go back in their
[27:17] Speaker 2: room and start blowing more smoke. What a great metaphor
[27:20] Speaker 2: for the Catholic Church over the past two thousand years.
[27:27] Speaker 2: All right, that's the rant or monologue. It wasn't really
[27:30] Speaker 2: a rant. It was just my thoughts for what they
[27:32] Speaker 2: were worth and your calls on the other side of this.
[27:45] Speaker 2: We began today's conversation talking about the Catholic Church, but
[27:49] Speaker 2: our listeners wanted to talk about a lot more. I've
[27:56] Speaker 2: got Russell. I think it's Russell at six' one, FOUR
[28:00] Speaker 2: i get that. Right, yes appreciate your, call my. Friend
[28:04] Speaker 2: you're a little bit. Faint speak nice and loud for.
[28:07] Speaker 2: Me all.
[28:08] Speaker 7: Right have you seen that Latest Joe rogan.
[28:12] Speaker 2: Episode i'm happy to SAY i have, not But i'll
[28:17] Speaker 2: ask what happened on the Latest Joe rogan.
[28:20] Speaker 7: Episode Apparently Joe rogan was saying that he doesn't mind
[28:25] Speaker 7: banning fact. CHECKERS i don't really understand what he's talking.
[28:29] Speaker 7: About apparently he was, like if a source comes from
[28:35] Speaker 7: a news network LIKE cnn AND msnbc THAT i don't like,
[28:38] Speaker 7: them it must not be true and it's all just
[28:40] Speaker 7: some evil, conspiracy you, know at all because they disagree with,
[28:46] Speaker 7: me they must be pushing some sort of eel conspiracy
[28:50] Speaker 7: that what they're state is not.
[28:51] Speaker 2: True so if it's, disconfirming it's part of a deep state.
[28:56] Speaker 2: Plot but if it's, confirming then it's absolutely. True is
[28:59] Speaker 2: that the?
[29:00] Speaker 7: Vibe, yeah but it's, like you, KNOW i don't really
[29:03] Speaker 7: trust What Fox news says and what write. Parks this
[29:06] Speaker 7: is just kind of my. Bias but it's, like just
[29:09] Speaker 7: because it's On Fox news the pride part doesn't necessarily
[29:12] Speaker 7: mean it's not. TRUE i, MEAN i can always look
[29:14] Speaker 7: up their sources to see what they're saying it is.
[29:16] Speaker 7: Correct but, yeah some people kind of live in their echo.
[29:19] Speaker 7: Chamber or it's, like if this is being told to
[29:22] Speaker 7: find a new source THAT i don't, like then it
[29:24] Speaker 7: must not be. True you.
[29:25] Speaker 2: Know, well and this gets. STICKY i wrote about this
[29:30] Speaker 2: in another book THAT i published in twenty twenty Called
[29:33] Speaker 2: confessions of a Former Fox News, christian where we dissect
[29:37] Speaker 2: right wing propaganda networks masquerading as, News Fox, News, Newsmax,
[29:42] Speaker 2: oa n right wing, radio et. Cetera And Fox news
[29:46] Speaker 2: simply does not have the, equity the reputational equity for
[29:50] Speaker 2: me to take them. Seriously i'm not saying that other
[29:52] Speaker 2: networks don't have BIASED i don't have, flaws they haven't
[29:55] Speaker 2: gotten things. Wrong BUT i will say that if it
[30:00] Speaker 2: Is National Public, radio or if it's The Associated, press
[30:04] Speaker 2: or even The New York, times wars and, all despite their,
[30:08] Speaker 2: flaws they have more reputational equity for being investigative journalists
[30:13] Speaker 2: and for presenting facts in a more fair. Manner and
[30:18] Speaker 2: these things have been measured so we can, say, oh
[30:21] Speaker 2: it was On Fox. News, well you AND i have
[30:23] Speaker 2: every reason to hold up our hand to, goh wait a,
[30:27] Speaker 2: minute wait a. Minute you, know do you have a
[30:30] Speaker 2: more reputable source for? That but it's also true that
[30:34] Speaker 2: we can be creatures of bias and confirmation when it
[30:38] Speaker 2: comes to the stuff that we see that we agree
[30:40] Speaker 2: about ON cnn AND, npr et. Cetera we got to
[30:43] Speaker 2: keep our eyes and ears. Open BUT i think it's
[30:45] Speaker 2: just fine for you to, Say i'm not going to
[30:47] Speaker 2: watch it On. Fox there are more reputable organizations THAT
[30:50] Speaker 2: i can glean this information. From and you, know it's
[30:53] Speaker 2: interesting because people who are more, progressive more, liberal actually
[30:59] Speaker 2: are statistically prone to get their news from a greater
[31:02] Speaker 2: variety of. Sources they're more prone to go out and
[31:05] Speaker 2: do this network and that, network and they might do
[31:07] Speaker 2: more even local and regional. News they just have a
[31:10] Speaker 2: wider palette by which they are able to receive, data
[31:15] Speaker 2: where conservatives tend to lock more into one or two
[31:19] Speaker 2: conduits of. Information i'm not trying to, stereotype but that's a.
[31:23] Speaker 2: Trend and so you, know you AND i meet A
[31:25] Speaker 2: Fox news there there's a chance that maybe they've been
[31:28] Speaker 2: locked in a propaganda window and a tunnel and they
[31:32] Speaker 2: simply don't know what the rest of the world looks.
[31:34] Speaker 2: Like SO i don't know as Anything i've said made
[31:37] Speaker 2: any sense to. You you got any other, thoughts BECAUSE i,
[31:39] Speaker 2: MEAN i welcome your input as. WELL i don't have
[31:42] Speaker 2: all the answers on.
[31:43] Speaker 7: It by, yes have you ever seen that latest episode
[31:49] Speaker 7: With Sam. Harris he was talking to a woman who
[31:54] Speaker 7: was selling her a book particulars Like, Lies God BELIEVE
[32:00] Speaker 7: i think there's a.
[32:01] Speaker 2: Third, Yeah Catherine, STEWART i interviewed her as well as
[32:05] Speaker 2: she heard new Book Money lies In. God, Yes i've also.
[32:08] Speaker 7: Seen your episode where you interviewed with, her but, Yeah
[32:11] Speaker 7: Sam harris also had a little episode with, her and
[32:15] Speaker 7: he was talking about, how like The New York, times
[32:19] Speaker 7: yeah it could be a bit, biased but, like, uh
[32:22] Speaker 7: if it makes my little, mistake the conservatives will be, like,
[32:26] Speaker 7: oh they made this one little, mistake so it must
[32:29] Speaker 7: may not be. True But Fox news and breitbarte a
[32:33] Speaker 7: lot of a lot of other right leading new. Sources
[32:35] Speaker 7: they can say whatever bullshit they want to and it
[32:38] Speaker 7: don't care because it just confirms their. Biases and the
[32:41] Speaker 7: PROBLEM i have with people Like Joe rogan is that
[32:44] Speaker 7: he just kind of assumes that you know that what's
[32:49] Speaker 7: being told him is truth because it's being told by
[32:51] Speaker 7: a source that confirms his.
[32:53] Speaker 8: Bias you.
[32:53] Speaker 2: Know, WELL i Think i'm being charitable WHEN i say
[32:58] Speaker 2: That Joe rogan is as sharp as. Marble that guy
[33:01] Speaker 2: falls for every batshit conspiracy theory that comes. Along it
[33:05] Speaker 2: boggles my mind that he is as popular as he.
[33:08] Speaker 2: Is and what really hurts is that he has given
[33:10] Speaker 2: such a platform to anti, science conspiracy, theory and often
[33:14] Speaker 2: corrupt cranks who were doing real damage to the, culture
[33:18] Speaker 2: and then he befriends them when he, says, Oh i've
[33:20] Speaker 2: been buddies With Alex jones for twenty. Years, MAN i
[33:23] Speaker 2: know the. GUY i just keep, Thinking Jesus, christ how
[33:26] Speaker 2: tone deaf can you be in this culture of where
[33:29] Speaker 2: hate is so. Rampant i'd like to see The Sam
[33:33] Speaker 2: Harris Catherine stewart. INTERVIEW i bet he drew out some
[33:36] Speaker 2: stuff THAT i wasn't even able to get. To sam's
[33:38] Speaker 2: pretty smart, guy but not all sources are the. SAME
[33:43] Speaker 2: i think one of the best defenses is to use
[33:45] Speaker 2: a variety of. Sources have those sources who are checking other,
[33:49] Speaker 2: sources don't be afraid to read disagreement and be aware
[33:53] Speaker 2: of our biases at the front. END i think once
[33:55] Speaker 2: we are cognizant of the fact that we are emotional meat,
[33:59] Speaker 2: bags we are evolved primates with flawed, brains it helps
[34:03] Speaker 2: us a little bit to get in front of. It
[34:06] Speaker 2: but you, know you keep fact checking on your own out,
[34:08] Speaker 2: there and if you learn something we didn't know, here
[34:10] Speaker 2: let us. Know, Okay, Russell, Okay.
[34:13] Speaker 7: I'll make sure to call you again IF i get the.

[38:45] Speaker 2: of an. Impact do you Think christianity has on keeping
[38:48] Speaker 2: people badly educated to the point where they voted for
[38:51] Speaker 2: the same scammer Con man. Twice that's a good. Question
[38:57] Speaker 2: but having been indoctrinated as a kid In christian, SCHOOL
[39:01] Speaker 2: i will tell you THAT i was in an ideology,
[39:04] Speaker 2: first not an education first, environment AND i was programmed
[39:09] Speaker 2: to retake this country for. Christ. NOW i don't THINK
[39:12] Speaker 2: i would have Bought, trump BUT i did believe we
[39:15] Speaker 2: were A christian. Nation the founders Were, christian and my
[39:18] Speaker 2: job was to go and incorporate myself into the culture
[39:22] Speaker 2: to help restore A christian. Nation and there might have
[39:28] Speaker 2: been some people who totally sold me a bill of
[39:30] Speaker 2: goods THAT i then. Bought AND i do think in
[39:35] Speaker 2: doctrination is a big piece of the mag of. Puzzle
[39:40] Speaker 2: and ALSO i think high control religions prime people for savior.
[39:44] Speaker 2: Figures christianity is an authoritarian. Faith you've got a male
[39:49] Speaker 2: authority above, all and then that authority sets in place
[39:53] Speaker 2: under him other, authorities often, men and we're supposed to
[39:57] Speaker 2: just bow, down you, know we kneel and obey because
[40:01] Speaker 2: that's What god. Wants and it's no mistake that many
[40:03] Speaker 2: authoritarians throughout history have invoked the name Of. God, hey
[40:07] Speaker 2: it's not my idea That i'm in charge sitting at
[40:09] Speaker 2: the high throne on the high mountain telling everybody what
[40:12] Speaker 2: to do and calling all their resources and dominating and.
[40:16] Speaker 2: Enslaving you, know it's not my. Fault it's simply What god.
[40:20] Speaker 2: Wants so, YEAH i think there's a lot of truth to,
[40:23] Speaker 2: that AND i think it's one of the reasons that
[40:24] Speaker 2: we need to defeat superstitions and mythological, thinking bad, idea,
[40:28] Speaker 2: is udo, science. Etc because we want people rooting more
[40:31] Speaker 2: in the real, world and once they do, that then
[40:35] Speaker 2: they're more. Prepared we are all more prepared to be
[40:38] Speaker 2: able to tackle real world. Problems oh, Wow i'm going
[40:44] Speaker 2: to make SURE i say your name. Right is it
[40:46] Speaker 2: Frozen theia Or? Frozenthea? OH i like that?
[40:49] Speaker 7: Better.
[40:50] Speaker 2: Prosenttheia, Lovely you've been one of my biggest inspirations for
[40:54] Speaker 2: the past thirteen. Years you've always been very just in,
[40:57] Speaker 2: kind and your commitment to common sense just been a
[41:00] Speaker 2: really refreshing tone we need more. OF i appreciate you,
[41:03] Speaker 2: Well You're you're very generous to. Me i'm just a
[41:06] Speaker 2: guy with a big, mouth and you, know the ability
[41:08] Speaker 2: to communicate is about ALL i. Got i'm not a.
[41:11] Speaker 2: PhD i'm not a. Scientist i'm not that. Guy i'm
[41:16] Speaker 2: simply someone who came out of a very intense religious
[41:19] Speaker 2: background and had something to say about it and felt
[41:22] Speaker 2: LIKE i had something to contribute to the. Conversation and you,
[41:26] Speaker 2: know there are so many people out there smarter than,
[41:28] Speaker 2: me and that's WHY i bring them on the show
[41:30] Speaker 2: and let them do so much of the. TALKING i
[41:32] Speaker 2: sit back AND i rubbed my chin AND i, said,
[41:34] Speaker 2: hmm that's most. Interesting Mess let me ask you another,
[41:37] Speaker 2: question and THEN i said Back kelly At avery code
[41:41] Speaker 2: ninety three, Seven, hi are you? There, Hi, yes this Is. Kelly, Hi, kelly.
[41:46] Speaker 2: Welcome what's on your mind? Today?
[41:49] Speaker 9: Hi, well at the beginning of the, program you were
[41:52] Speaker 9: talking about the strange custom Of catholics with putting the
[41:55] Speaker 9: ashings on their, foreheads and it just me thinking about
[42:01] Speaker 9: This instagram account and also a TikTok account for this
[42:06] Speaker 9: lady who Is Jewish orthodox and her name Is Miriam,
[42:10] Speaker 9: ezagui AND i looked it up a few minutes, ago
[42:14] Speaker 9: and she actually has two point three million followers on.
[42:18] Speaker 9: TikTok and so she has an enormous, following and she
[42:25] Speaker 9: talks about her life as An Orthodox jewish. Woman AND
[42:29] Speaker 9: i started following her content several months, ago AND i
[42:34] Speaker 9: found it. Fascinating and she talks about so many very
[42:38] Speaker 9: unusual customs That i've never heard of. Before and one
[42:42] Speaker 9: of these customs involves the fact that she in her,
[42:45] Speaker 9: videos this Lady, miriam she has long brown. Hair and
[42:50] Speaker 9: what you discover when you're watching the videos is she
[42:52] Speaker 9: has several videos where she reveals but that long brown,
[42:55] Speaker 9: hair which looks like her real, hair is a. WIG
[42:59] Speaker 9: i learned from these videos That Orthodox jewish women after
[43:02] Speaker 9: they get married have to hide their hair so the
[43:06] Speaker 9: rest of their lives from anyone that's not like close immediate.
[43:10] Speaker 9: Family it might just be, men but any and all
[43:14] Speaker 9: MALES i think that are not close immediate. Family so
[43:18] Speaker 9: at all times when she might be in the presence
[43:21] Speaker 9: of any of those, people she has to cover her.
[43:23] Speaker 9: Hair but the way she can cover it sometimes she
[43:27] Speaker 9: uses a scarf or something to fully cover, it and
[43:29] Speaker 9: other times she uses a complete, wig like a very you,
[43:33] Speaker 9: know very, expensive you, know very nice. Wig she has
[43:36] Speaker 9: multiple different wigs that she, wears but her hair has
[43:39] Speaker 9: to be completely fully.
[43:41] Speaker 2: Covered it's okay for someone, That like IF i got
[43:45] Speaker 2: turned on by a, wig like if it's long, hair
[43:50] Speaker 2: brunette hair or. Whatever if it's not actually attached to her,
[43:54] Speaker 2: scalp but it's a, wig that's. Okay but if it
[43:58] Speaker 2: was organic to her, body if it was actually part
[44:01] Speaker 2: of her, scout that's the sin or that's a. Problem
[44:04] Speaker 2: is that what's going?
[44:05] Speaker 9: On, yes that's exactly. RIGHT i don't you. Know it
[44:09] Speaker 9: might be disrespectful to her others to call it mental,
[44:12] Speaker 9: gymnastics but it's very fascinating to hear sort of the
[44:16] Speaker 9: explanation that she OSes to justify, it because she does
[44:19] Speaker 9: call it modesty, cult like a modesty. THING i think
[44:22] Speaker 9: she would say, that but she talks about that in
[44:26] Speaker 9: a positive, way of, course and she explains that to,
[44:29] Speaker 9: her this is not at all about covering up her own.
[44:34] Speaker 9: Beauty she, claims this has nothing to do with. Beauty
[44:38] Speaker 9: she's allowed to look, beautiful which is why she's loved
[44:40] Speaker 9: to wear these very nice wigs that make her look very,
[44:43] Speaker 9: nice because it's actually about somehow preserving her hair for her,
[44:48] Speaker 9: husband but occurring to her, religion she's still allowed to look,
[44:51] Speaker 9: Beautiful so it's such a strange like.
[44:54] Speaker 2: Contradiction tell me the last name. Again i'll look up
[44:57] Speaker 2: the channel WHEN i get a chance. Tomorrow Miriam.
[44:59] Speaker 9: WHO i don't know how you pronounce, it but it
[45:01] Speaker 9: looks like it's pronounced ethically and it's. Easy a g. U.
[45:07] Speaker 9: I i actually really loved following her accounts very, much
[45:11] Speaker 9: SO i thought it was very, interesting AND i liked
[45:13] Speaker 9: her personally until one DAY i was On instagram AND
[45:18] Speaker 9: i saw her doing an ad For Praguer. You AND
[45:23] Speaker 9: i don't mean to tell you why that's. Bad AND
[45:25] Speaker 9: i was really disappointed because she seemed like she seemed,
[45:28] Speaker 9: like in spite, of you, know maybe very strict traditionalist
[45:31] Speaker 9: types of, views she seemed like she has a lot
[45:34] Speaker 9: of sentiments that she'd expressed, about you, know the importance
[45:36] Speaker 9: of you, know maybe diversity and accepting other cultures and,
[45:39] Speaker 9: people and you, know she seems sort of liberal minded in.
[45:41] Speaker 3: A lot of.
[45:42] Speaker 9: Ways SO i was just really horrified and disappointed that
[45:45] Speaker 9: she was doing ads For Praguer.
[45:46] Speaker 2: You, WELL i don't think mental gymnastics is an overstatement at.
[45:50] Speaker 2: All it sounds like she could be on The. Olympics
[45:53] Speaker 2: BUT i am curious So i'll go check out the
[45:55] Speaker 2: channel WHEN i get a chance. Tomorrow but thanks for
[45:58] Speaker 2: bringing that to my. Attention, NO i. HADN'T i heard
[46:00] Speaker 2: the wig thing. Before real hair, bad but real hair
[46:03] Speaker 2: on a wig that came from someone else. ACCEPTABLE i
[46:06] Speaker 2: don't really understand the logic, there but thanks for telling.
[46:09] Speaker 3: Me.
[46:09] Speaker 2: Kelly it's interesting, stuff, right she has.
[46:12] Speaker 9: Several videos about. It, Sure i'll pro and. All thanks
[46:14] Speaker 9: for having me.
[46:15] Speaker 2: On all, right we'll catch you, later all, right thank,
[46:17] Speaker 2: you good. Night Orthodox judaism's wacky. Anyway like on The,
[46:22] Speaker 2: sabbath you can't touch an elevator button if you're An Orthodox.
[46:28] Speaker 2: Jew that is considered, kindling because you're not allowed to
[46:32] Speaker 2: do anything that starts a. Fire well with the electrical
[46:35] Speaker 2: connection with the circuit that's connected on an elevator, button
[46:38] Speaker 2: that is considered, kindling and you're not allowed to do
[46:41] Speaker 2: that On. Sabbath SO i shit you not on The.
[46:43] Speaker 2: Sabbath there are buildings that have elevators that from a
[46:47] Speaker 2: certain hour OF i think It's friday Through saturday night
[46:52] Speaker 2: wins The. SABBATH i think It's friday night Through saturday.
[46:54] Speaker 2: Night the elevators stop at every floor for twenty four
[47:01] Speaker 2: hours because you were not allowed to do. Work you're
[47:04] Speaker 2: not allowed to touch the elevator buttons, litvators you have
[47:09] Speaker 2: to stop at every floor fifty story. Building, ah sucks for.
[47:13] Speaker 2: You you don't get to press the. Button there were
[47:16] Speaker 2: ovens that have something called A sabbath. Mode look at
[47:20] Speaker 2: the manual of your. Appliances i'll bet your, oven if
[47:23] Speaker 2: it was purchased in the last ten, years is what
[47:26] Speaker 2: they call Stark kosher, certified which means that the oven
[47:30] Speaker 2: will stay warm so that you don't have to touch
[47:34] Speaker 2: a knob or turn on a burner because you are
[47:38] Speaker 2: not allowed to do so on The SABBATH i which is.
[47:41] Speaker 2: Crazy there was a family In New. York they weren't
[47:44] Speaker 2: allowed to turn on light, bulbs or felt they weren't allowed.
[47:47] Speaker 2: To had a family like seven. Kids so what they
[47:51] Speaker 2: did Is friday, night they lit a shit ton of
[47:53] Speaker 2: candles in this house and while they were, sleeping one
[47:58] Speaker 2: of the candles got tipped over on an how burned
[48:01] Speaker 2: the whole house, down killed everybody Because god didn't want
[48:04] Speaker 2: him to have a light. Bulbond. Yeah mental, GYMNASTICS i
[48:08] Speaker 2: think one of the one of the ones that blows
[48:10] Speaker 2: my mind the. Most is the tradition Of. Kaparote this is,
[48:14] Speaker 2: bizarre and again this Is Orthodox. Judaism. Okay so the
[48:18] Speaker 2: idea is that humans have a sinful, Heart we have
[48:22] Speaker 2: sin that accumulates in our heart and we need to
[48:26] Speaker 2: be atoned. For so in The kappa road to, tradition
[48:30] Speaker 2: you grab a, chicken live, chicken and you have a little.
[48:33] Speaker 2: Booklet i'm not making it. Up you have a booklet
[48:36] Speaker 2: and you say some sort of a chant or, prayer
[48:39] Speaker 2: and this is supposed to transfer the iniquity of your
[48:43] Speaker 2: heart into the. Chicken, okay so, you're, oh we have
[48:47] Speaker 2: so sorry for my. Whatever i'm not going to look
[48:49] Speaker 2: it up, now but there's a specific recitation that you.
[48:53] Speaker 2: Do sin goes into the. Chicken then there's somebody on
[48:57] Speaker 2: site with a knife or a razor. Blade they cut
[49:00] Speaker 2: the head off the chicken and this is supposed to
[49:03] Speaker 2: be a blood atonement to cleanse. You THEN i think
[49:08] Speaker 2: most of the time they end up like throwing these
[49:10] Speaker 2: the chicken bodies in the gutter that they just. Do
[49:12] Speaker 2: it's horrible what they. Do but a lot of times
[49:14] Speaker 2: they donate the chicken to poor people to feed the. Poor,
[49:19] Speaker 2: well if you give poor people a chicken that's full of?
[49:22] Speaker 2: Evil did they have to then get a fresh chicken
[49:27] Speaker 2: and have a whole new kappaoat ceremony and then cut
[49:31] Speaker 2: the head off the chicken and then they give that
[49:33] Speaker 2: chicken to poor, people and then they need another chicken
[49:36] Speaker 2: to a tone for that, chicken and on and on
[49:38] Speaker 2: AND i have so many questions medal gymnastics and how
[49:41] Speaker 2: who thinks that shit? Up who woke up one day and,
[49:45] Speaker 2: said you know, WHAT i, Know i'm. Unworthy somebody get
[49:49] Speaker 2: me a. Chicken, Awesome brett three one, Seven thanks for?
[50:05] Speaker 2: Waiting are you there's?
[50:07] Speaker 7: Zam can you use a?
[50:08] Speaker 2: ROOSTER i would guess it's. Interchangeable you, know maybe The
[50:12] Speaker 2: lord does not discriminate between nine chicken and nine nine
[50:16] Speaker 2: hen and nine.
[50:16] Speaker 8: Rooster with fourteen roosters and two.
[50:19] Speaker 2: Chicken you live on a farm a, ranch well.
[50:23] Speaker 7: Sort of now it's just just a. House BUT i
[50:25] Speaker 7: got some.
[50:25] Speaker 3: Chicken.
[50:26] Speaker 8: Anyway i'm calling about my son and like we haven't.
[50:30] Speaker 10: Raised him religious or. Anything he's, sixteen got his driver's
[50:33] Speaker 10: license and he started going to a youth. Group AND
[50:37] Speaker 10: i don't. KNOW i was Raised, Unitarian my wife was Raised,
[50:41] Speaker 10: presbyterian went to A catholic private. School but we never,
[50:44] Speaker 10: like we haven't been members of a. Church we haven't
[50:47] Speaker 10: raised him in a church or. Anything but he just
[50:49] Speaker 10: started going to a youth group On sunday. Nights he
[50:52] Speaker 10: Knows i'm an. ATHEIST i don't know what to. DO
[50:55] Speaker 10: i don't know how to get vince him out of.
[50:57] Speaker 10: It but he started going to a youth group at the.
[51:00] Speaker 10: School now he's going to a youth group On sunday.
[51:04] Speaker 10: Nights and it's like a lot of his friends are
[51:07] Speaker 10: all pretty, religious and he's got on his, phone you,
[51:10] Speaker 10: know on your screen on your. Phone it's got like
[51:12] Speaker 10: A bible vers on. There trust in The lord with
[51:15] Speaker 10: all your heart because he's been reading The bible on
[51:18] Speaker 10: his phone.
[51:18] Speaker 2: Lately and that approach THIS i don't. Either my first
[51:23] Speaker 2: thought is at the age of, sixteen in some ways
[51:28] Speaker 2: the bird has. FLOWN i, mean you're looking at essentially
[51:30] Speaker 2: a pre adult and somebody who is probably going to
[51:35] Speaker 2: push back or resist if they feel you are resisting.
[51:38] Speaker 2: Them you, KNOW i have a feeling your son is
[51:41] Speaker 2: not going to receive, well you're, going what the hell
[51:45] Speaker 2: does he feel safe to have conversations with you or
[51:48] Speaker 2: does his guard UP.
[51:50] Speaker 8: I had a conversation This. Saturday we were seeing righting
[51:53] Speaker 8: up the chair, lift AND i was talking about how,
[51:56] Speaker 8: well if a person is spiritually hungry leave, anything and
[52:01] Speaker 8: trying to explain what that.
[52:03] Speaker 2: MEANS i myself would approach, it not with declarative, statements
[52:08] Speaker 2: but at first with, questions what's your perspective on where
[52:13] Speaker 2: we as human beings came? From and how do we know?
[52:16] Speaker 2: That what are your thoughts about? This AND i would
[52:19] Speaker 2: do a little prep in, advance not loading the, questions
[52:23] Speaker 2: but just kind of having a plan of attack to, say,
[52:25] Speaker 2: well you, KNOW i myself have explored these AND i
[52:28] Speaker 2: came up with a different. Answer But i'm. CURIOUS i
[52:30] Speaker 2: think this is probably one of those scenarios where the
[52:34] Speaker 2: more they feel they're being approached is a, peer the
[52:37] Speaker 2: less defensive they will. Be the more you use questions
[52:41] Speaker 2: instead of declarative, statements the less set back on their
[52:44] Speaker 2: heels they might. Feel your son might, feel but you,
[52:47] Speaker 2: know at, sixteen this is a ride that he may
[52:50] Speaker 2: have to sort of finish on his. Own but it's
[52:54] Speaker 2: very important that you live a, loud proud life according
[52:57] Speaker 2: to your own values in full, view because if and
[53:00] Speaker 2: when he does boomerang back out of the, church going,
[53:03] Speaker 2: oh this is, bullshit because that often. Happens you, know
[53:06] Speaker 2: somebody will spend a few years in the faith and
[53:08] Speaker 2: then all of a sudden they'll, realize, oh wait a,
[53:11] Speaker 2: minute you, know the newness is worn, off AND i
[53:13] Speaker 2: Know i'm being manipulated and this makes no logical, sense
[53:16] Speaker 2: and then they'll kind of snap. Back you can be
[53:18] Speaker 2: ready for, that but approach your son as a friend with,
[53:21] Speaker 2: questions and try to use language that keeps him off the.
[53:25] Speaker 2: Defensive keep the conversation short and, pleasant and kind of
[53:29] Speaker 2: see where it. GOES i think you're right, now IF
[53:32] Speaker 2: i can use a religious, TERM i think you're kind
[53:34] Speaker 2: of planting, seeds seeds of, doubt seeds of skeptical. Thinking, okay,
[53:38] Speaker 2: yeah thanks a.
[53:39] Speaker 8: LOT i think that sounds. Good just ask more questions
[53:42] Speaker 8: Than i'm telling him to, say.
[53:43] Speaker 2: And romain built in a. DAY i would not get
[53:45] Speaker 2: sucked into a long, ass really, intense, knockdown drag out
[53:50] Speaker 2: kind of. THING i, would especially at the, beginning in
[53:53] Speaker 2: order to make sure that he knows it's not an.
[53:55] Speaker 2: AMBUSH i think you keep it, light you keep him,
[53:58] Speaker 2: short and then you talk about how stuff and then
[54:00] Speaker 2: you return to it, later and then return to it
[54:03] Speaker 2: again later and go deeper and deeper each. Time but
[54:06] Speaker 2: at first, ESPECIALLY i just skip off this stuff for
[54:09] Speaker 2: a few minutes and make sure he knows it's not an. Ambush, okay,
[54:13] Speaker 2: okay thanks take, Care. Brett we'll see you. Later when
[54:16] Speaker 2: you see the street epistemology, videos you know With Anthony, magnebasco.
[54:20] Speaker 2: Etc you, know they don't go out and beat people
[54:22] Speaker 2: or they have a baseball bat and they meet them
[54:24] Speaker 2: on the. Street they just start, Casually, hey can we
[54:27] Speaker 2: talk about a few things that's, Interesting and when they
[54:29] Speaker 2: hear something that might be one of the stupidest things
[54:33] Speaker 2: ever uttered by human, beings they don't look them in
[54:36] Speaker 2: the eye and say that's one of the stupidest things
[54:39] Speaker 2: that's ever been uttered by human. Beings they, say, well
[54:43] Speaker 2: how did you get? There how do you know? That
[54:45] Speaker 2: where'd that come? From? Well that's interesting to. Me what
[54:48] Speaker 2: would you say to? This there is utility in trying
[54:51] Speaker 2: to keep people from shutting. Down stand by short. BREAK
[54:57] Speaker 2: i will be right back as we hear from more
[55:00] Speaker 2: of our listeners after. This this is the audio of
[55:09] Speaker 2: Our monday night live stream six Pm. Central it is
[55:13] Speaker 2: a video stream supposedly usually exclusive to. YouTube bookmark the next.

[55:34] Speaker 5: There, yes, Yes i'm.
[55:36] Speaker 2: Here we can hear each. Other what's on your?
[55:38] Speaker 7: Mind what do you want to talk?
[55:38] Speaker 5: ABOUT i am born And raisina In Eastern, europe In,
[55:44] Speaker 5: romania and WHAT i want to talk today is what
[55:48] Speaker 5: a dictatorship tels, like BECAUSE i have the experiences THAT
[55:53] Speaker 5: i experienced that myself WHEN i was a. Child our
[55:57] Speaker 5: former dictator we really like to be praised and we
[56:02] Speaker 5: had to sing songs about. Him but With, trump it
[56:06] Speaker 5: really feels worse than it was back. THEN i felt
[56:11] Speaker 5: like people are burning reality here more than they did
[56:16] Speaker 5: back In. Romania AND i feel like people don't realize
[56:21] Speaker 5: that we're falling into that all of dictatorship and they
[56:25] Speaker 5: are waiting for someone want to come and help them
[56:29] Speaker 5: and save, them and there won't be anybody saiding because
[56:33] Speaker 5: we have to save ourselves because our in our. LIVES
[56:36] Speaker 5: i used to remember when my stud is to, say,
[56:39] Speaker 5: well The americas are gonna come And they're gonna save,
[56:42] Speaker 5: us and guess, what they. Didn't and it is so
[56:47] Speaker 5: heartbreaking to me BECAUSE i have lost all of my,
[56:51] Speaker 5: friends every single one To. Munga they want somebody to
[56:56] Speaker 5: save them from. Poverty they want somebody to give them
[57:00] Speaker 5: their here's a. Problem this is Mister. Trump he is a.
[57:04] Speaker 5: Billionaire he's an accomplished. Billionaire he's gonna save. Me you,
[57:09] Speaker 5: know why would he be here other than to save.
[57:12] Speaker 5: Me he's just a good. Person AND i also think
[57:15] Speaker 5: that there are also people here are, intoxicated are high
[57:20] Speaker 5: on the on The american. Dream if you only work hard,
[57:24] Speaker 5: enough you also can be a. Millionaire SO i think
[57:27] Speaker 5: in their mind there are failed. Millionaires AND i have
[57:31] Speaker 5: actually spoken to my friend AND i, said don't you
[57:34] Speaker 5: think that you, know it's not fear that the billionaires
[57:37] Speaker 5: get to have all the money and they pay you
[57:39] Speaker 5: low wages and they get rid of you when they
[57:43] Speaker 5: don't need you. Anymore and they, said, well let's not
[57:46] Speaker 5: blame the. Rich that's what people told. Me and back
[57:50] Speaker 5: home In, romania we used to have, this you, know class.
[57:53] Speaker 5: Consciousness we all knew that we are in this dictatorship.
[57:57] Speaker 5: Together so it does all THE i mean when the revolution,
[58:03] Speaker 5: HAPPENED i was fourteen and my brother was, fifteen and
[58:09] Speaker 5: it WAS i remember it Was, december and we were all,
[58:12] Speaker 5: out my, mom my, dad my, brother, myself all the
[58:16] Speaker 5: kids in my neighborhood were all out. Demonstrating and my
[58:20] Speaker 5: father never even told me to stay home be. Safe
[58:24] Speaker 5: you know why because they knew that it was the
[58:27] Speaker 5: do or. Die if we don't get out of the
[58:29] Speaker 5: stage shot, now we are never going to catch another.
[58:33] Speaker 5: Break AND i see this, happening AND i raised your
[58:38] Speaker 5: alarm AND i told, people, hey this is nothing to joke. About.
[58:43] Speaker 5: This don't just sit and looking on and wait for.
[58:47] Speaker 5: Somebody you have to get. Out and you know this
[58:50] Speaker 5: is still, fresh you can still move. This but people
[58:54] Speaker 5: are still apathetic and theyre had like this bystander where
[58:58] Speaker 5: they just wait for somebody is to do. Something they
[59:01] Speaker 5: don't even want to make phone calls to their elective.
[59:04] Speaker 5: Representatives AND i just know this is going to slid
[59:08] Speaker 5: into fascism so. Fast And i'm just so broken hearted
[59:12] Speaker 5: because people are going to lose a lot and they
[59:15] Speaker 5: don't know.
[59:15] Speaker 2: IT i appreciate a perspective from the inside. Out it's
[59:19] Speaker 2: weird seeing people worship their own chains and this lie
[59:23] Speaker 2: that the billionaires actually care what happens to the. Commoners,
[59:26] Speaker 2: RIGHT a guy with four hundred thousand million dollars cares
[59:30] Speaker 2: about those people who are just scraping by paycheck to,
[59:34] Speaker 2: paycheck trying to. Survive it's a weird, disconnect isn't, It?
[59:37] Speaker 2: Anna it is mind.
[59:39] Speaker 5: BOGGLING i have lost even people who Are. Democrats they
[59:44] Speaker 5: tell me that you're just you don't. Understand they don't
[59:47] Speaker 5: understand how our system.
[59:48] Speaker 2: WORKS i Think Carl sagan talked about it, right how
[59:51] Speaker 2: we're going to live in an information society where nobody
[59:54] Speaker 2: knows how anything, works and we're going to end up being.
[59:57] Speaker 2: Slaves AND i look all around AND i, think, boy
[1:00:00] Speaker 2: that man is a. Profit And i'm hugging you from
[1:00:03] Speaker 2: all the way over here In. Oklahoma my heart just
[1:00:05] Speaker 2: breaks WHEN i think About. Romania But i'll tell, you you,
[1:00:08] Speaker 2: know let's not give. Up BUT i think perspective so
[1:00:11] Speaker 2: helps us determine the path, forward and your perspective is important.
[1:00:15] Speaker 2: Here thanks for sharing, it and thanks for calling, well.
[1:00:19] Speaker 5: Thank you so much for having me AND i really
[1:00:21] Speaker 5: appreciate everything that you. Said and the last, thing even
[1:00:25] Speaker 5: need to put one sign in your window THAT i
[1:00:28] Speaker 5: love the usbas OR i LOVE pa or. Something so
[1:00:32] Speaker 5: when people who have been fired from their jobs walk
[1:00:36] Speaker 5: by a home and they see, you know, that, Son they,
[1:00:39] Speaker 5: SAID i love you AND i see. You it's important
[1:00:41] Speaker 5: BECAUSE i know. Everybody there's a lot of federal workers
[1:00:44] Speaker 5: who are about to lose their jobs where they're losing their.
[1:00:47] Speaker 5: Job SO i think it's so important to be there
[1:00:50] Speaker 5: for one another and thank you for having.
[1:00:53] Speaker 2: Me you're, precious and thanks for calling so. Much we'll
[1:00:56] Speaker 2: see you. Later everybody put a heart in the chat For.
[1:01:00] Speaker 2: ANNA i Heart anna such an important human perspective on
[1:01:08] Speaker 2: the inhumanity that's going on around. Us so watch the Chant.
[1:01:12] Speaker 2: ANNA a bunch of heart's coming your. Way let's. See
[1:01:16] Speaker 2: i'm running out of time. Here i'm on the tennis
[1:01:18] Speaker 2: court in forty. Minutes we're playing an indoor match, tonight
[1:01:22] Speaker 2: BUT i do Have john on the. Line we'll see
[1:01:24] Speaker 2: if we can get at least one more. In john
[1:01:25] Speaker 2: at eight oh, Six are you.
[1:01:26] Speaker 3: There, Yes i'm here as.
[1:01:28] Speaker 2: Well i'm, well my. Friend let's talk what's on your.
[1:01:31] Speaker 3: Mind first, OFF i just want to thank you for
[1:01:33] Speaker 3: everything you've. Done i've been listening to your channel on
[1:01:36] Speaker 3: and off for well over a. DECADE i remember exactly
[1:01:38] Speaker 3: WHEN i, started thank, you thanks for. Everything it's an.
[1:01:41] Speaker 3: Honor real, QUICK i might be the bad guy for this,
[1:01:44] Speaker 3: episode BUT i wanted to go over basically the rise
[1:01:47] Speaker 3: of like Secular trump. SUPPORTERS i, mean obviously you've already
[1:01:50] Speaker 3: talked About Jill. Rogan Elon musk is a secular. Guy Dana,
[1:01:54] Speaker 3: white the leader of THE, Ufc he's a secular, guy
[1:01:56] Speaker 3: like a lot of these people do not have any
[1:01:58] Speaker 3: religious connection and in effect bragged about their lack of,
[1:02:01] Speaker 3: religion you, know in previous. Years and, SORRY i have
[1:02:05] Speaker 3: like a bunch of points HERE i wanted to, make
[1:02:06] Speaker 3: but one of the biggest ones was there's a book
[1:02:09] Speaker 3: that just came out By Jonathan ROUCH i think his name.
[1:02:11] Speaker 3: Is he's A jewish. Atheist but the point of this,
[1:02:14] Speaker 3: BOOK i think it's Called Christianity's Broken bargain With, democracy
[1:02:18] Speaker 3: and it talks about basically lowering rates Of christianity and
[1:02:22] Speaker 3: how he believes that's a bad thing because he claims
[1:02:24] Speaker 3: that despite certain areas becoming more, secular they're still susceptible
[1:02:28] Speaker 3: to a lot of authoritarian things Like. Trump, obviously he
[1:02:32] Speaker 3: specifically cites certain states in The Rust, Belt, nevada they're
[1:02:36] Speaker 3: pretty lesser religious states compared to the you, know The Bible.
[1:02:39] Speaker 3: Belt these are swing states that normally have gone blue fairly,
[1:02:43] Speaker 3: often but now they've swung red despite being the least
[1:02:47] Speaker 3: religious they've been in you, know. Decades what is your
[1:02:50] Speaker 3: opinion on.
[1:02:51] Speaker 2: That, WELL i think if someone is not, religious it
[1:02:55] Speaker 2: doesn't necessarily mean to me that they have secular. VALUES
[1:02:59] Speaker 2: i don't know The Gelon musk believes in any god,
[1:03:02] Speaker 2: anywhere but he is not a man of secular. Values
[1:03:06] Speaker 2: he does not honor state church. SEPARATION i don't think
[1:03:08] Speaker 2: he gives a shit about The. CONSTITUTION i don't think
[1:03:11] Speaker 2: he has one iota of respect for human, rights WHICH
[1:03:14] Speaker 2: i would call secular. Values but we have seen some
[1:03:18] Speaker 2: people who are not religious who have lined up Behind Donald.
[1:03:22] Speaker 2: Trump you, know not believing in a god is not
[1:03:24] Speaker 2: a guarantee that you're rational or a, skeptic or a
[1:03:28] Speaker 2: humanist or even a good. Person BUT i, KNOW i
[1:03:31] Speaker 2: have noticed that we do see more of a religious
[1:03:36] Speaker 2: fervor Around Donald, trump and we saw more of a
[1:03:40] Speaker 2: wider variety Around kamala during the. Election BUT i, mean
[1:03:44] Speaker 2: are you asking me If i'm seeing a surge of
[1:03:47] Speaker 2: people who are not religious who have Become.
[1:03:49] Speaker 3: TRUMPERS i can only speak from my own experience with
[1:03:52] Speaker 3: that Because i'm from to be, Fair i'm From, texas
[1:03:55] Speaker 3: so it's kind of a painted pool of. People BUT
[1:03:58] Speaker 3: i went to a wedding fairly, recently right after the,
[1:04:00] Speaker 3: election and of the nine best men who are the
[1:04:04] Speaker 3: GROOMSMEN i guess for this, wedding virtually all of them
[1:04:07] Speaker 3: are not. Religious they were all kind of like your
[1:04:09] Speaker 3: blue collar, cops police, officers military, guys so they kind
[1:04:13] Speaker 3: of skew conservative, anyway but none of them are. Religious
[1:04:16] Speaker 3: some of them go to, church and virtually all of
[1:04:18] Speaker 3: them voted For. Trump so that's kind of my Point
[1:04:21] Speaker 3: i'm trying to make here IS i feel like they
[1:04:22] Speaker 3: have all the markings to you, know in, theory we always,
[1:04:25] Speaker 3: said you, know With america becomes less, religious we would
[1:04:28] Speaker 3: become more enlightened and so. Forth but my go to
[1:04:32] Speaker 3: evidence is that's not necessarily the case because a lot
[1:04:34] Speaker 3: of guys are not religious and they still Like.
[1:04:36] Speaker 2: Trump, Sure i've seen that THERE'S. US i, mean they're
[1:04:40] Speaker 2: relatively small but loud atheist group that the Big trumpers
[1:04:44] Speaker 2: make a lot of noise and. WHATNOT i don't. Know
[1:04:47] Speaker 2: i'm not a. SOCIOLOGIST i find that your anecdote is.
[1:04:50] Speaker 2: Interesting it's a lot of how people formulate their values is.
[1:04:56] Speaker 2: Cultural SO i think it's very possible that you can
[1:04:59] Speaker 2: be in a culture that isn't overtly, religious nobody really
[1:05:03] Speaker 2: cares that much about, it but it is more of a,
[1:05:05] Speaker 2: conservative blue collar probably A i don't. KNOW i think
[1:05:09] Speaker 2: we can speak to culture outside of religion and know
[1:05:13] Speaker 2: that there is A trump. CULTURE i tend to think
[1:05:16] Speaker 2: that most OF maga has a religious component to, it
[1:05:21] Speaker 2: or they have a religious. Background there seems to. Be
[1:05:24] Speaker 2: that's part of the. Puzzle now what's really interesting to
[1:05:26] Speaker 2: me is just over a month into The trump, presidency
[1:05:30] Speaker 2: we are finally starting to see some of those, people
[1:05:33] Speaker 2: even the highly religious. Ones they're pissed because now they're
[1:05:37] Speaker 2: starting to lose their. Jobs and the farmers that are,
[1:05:39] Speaker 2: like what the hell happened to my? Subsidy and the,
[1:05:41] Speaker 2: crops the foods rotting on the, warehouse doc and everybody's going.
[1:05:45] Speaker 2: ON i didn't realize this shit would happen to, me
[1:05:47] Speaker 2: right as they say they fucked, around and now they're finding.
[1:05:49] Speaker 2: Out and even the religious. ONES i saw a sermon
[1:05:53] Speaker 2: by a pastor and he made his whole Freaking sunday
[1:05:58] Speaker 2: sermon about the insanity that was going all. Around and
[1:06:01] Speaker 2: he's As christian as they. Come the guy was just
[1:06:04] Speaker 2: a pulpit Pounding bible literalist. Believer SO i don't, Know
[1:06:07] Speaker 2: it's it's messy out, there but it's SOMETHING i can
[1:06:10] Speaker 2: certainly keep my eyes open for and to see IF
[1:06:12] Speaker 2: i see more secular people who Are trumpers THAN i had.
[1:06:16] Speaker 2: Anticipated but my experience has not been.
[1:06:18] Speaker 3: That, Okay, YEAH i just wanted to get my perspective
[1:06:21] Speaker 3: because the Assumption i've always thought, was you, know it
[1:06:23] Speaker 3: was more enlightened people, get the less religious people, are
[1:06:27] Speaker 3: that would cause more states to swing. Blue but it
[1:06:29] Speaker 3: seems like at least in this, election despite being less religious, overall,
[1:06:34] Speaker 3: supposedly it seems, WELL i, mean it's.
[1:06:37] Speaker 2: Messy look how many people stayed, home, RIGHT i, mean
[1:06:42] Speaker 2: we're not taking those people into. Account and if you
[1:06:44] Speaker 2: look At kamala and Then Third, party more people voted
[1:06:47] Speaker 2: Against Donald trump than voted for. Him SO i don't
[1:06:51] Speaker 2: see a mandate in that. Vein but, AGAIN i would
[1:06:55] Speaker 2: like To i'd like to actually see An Andrew whitehead
[1:06:58] Speaker 2: or another sociology speak to, that because you do bring
[1:07:01] Speaker 2: up an interesting. Possibility is there a shade of maggot
[1:07:05] Speaker 2: that is overtly Non? Christian and what does that look?
[1:07:08] Speaker 2: Like is it? Geographical is there some other metric in?
[1:07:12] Speaker 2: PLAY i don't know something to think, About, John thanks
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: for bringing it.
[1:07:15] Speaker 3: Up, Man, yeah, THANKS i appreciate.
