[0:00] Speaker 1: From the Spaining Center. This is Paul Murray Live. It
[0:09] Speaker 1: is twenty four hours that have changed the world. The
[0:12] Speaker 1: United States, working with Israel, have taken out the leadership
[0:15] Speaker 1: of Iran. Iran the biggest state sponsor of terrorism around
[0:20] Speaker 1: the world, the biggest military threats to Israel and its existence,
[0:25] Speaker 1: and of course the many proxies that exist to the
[0:29] Speaker 1: north and south of it. This has been huge. You,
[0:32] Speaker 1: of course, have been seeing it play out since about
[0:35] Speaker 1: this time last night, when people started to realize just
[0:39] Speaker 1: how significant all of this was. This was much bigger
[0:42] Speaker 1: than what we had seen earlier in the past few
[0:45] Speaker 1: months when there was just the surgical strike in the
[0:48] Speaker 1: middle of the night on one, two and three military facilities,
[0:53] Speaker 1: those of course being the nuclear program. Well, this was
[0:57] Speaker 1: about literally a place where the leader of ira and
[1:00] Speaker 1: those who were advising him were meeting, and in real time,
[1:05] Speaker 1: the leadership of Iran has been decapitated, meaning there is
[1:09] Speaker 1: a power vacuum in that country. But as we speak
[1:13] Speaker 1: as nine o'clock in Canberra, in Tel Aviv right now
[1:17] Speaker 1: it is in and around lunchtime. It's a live shot
[1:19] Speaker 1: from what is happening in Israel right now where it's
[1:22] Speaker 1: just gone midday. The caution there is quite frequent because
[1:28] Speaker 1: while the Iron Dome means that the vast majority of
[1:31] Speaker 1: what gets shot towards that country gets blown up in
[1:34] Speaker 1: the sky, there are things that do connect. Hence why
[1:37] Speaker 1: you see what you are starting to see there in Iran.
[1:40] Speaker 1: Right now, it is one thirty in the afternoon on Sunday,
[1:44] Speaker 1: and it has just gone five am in Washington, DC,
[1:48] Speaker 1: and also in Florida, in Marrilago, where the President of
[1:51] Speaker 1: the United States is now there is a bits a
[1:55] Speaker 1: report tonight. But I'm pretty sure that if you are
[1:57] Speaker 1: watching us now you've been paying attention for the past
[1:59] Speaker 1: couple of days, going to go over too much of
[2:01] Speaker 1: the detail that you'll already know. I'm going to focus
[2:03] Speaker 1: on what has happened in the past couple of hours,
[2:06] Speaker 1: what is likely, possible, plausible in not just the next
[2:10] Speaker 1: couple of hours, but again the next couple of days. Now,
[2:13] Speaker 1: to give you an idea here, this is just how
[2:16] Speaker 1: many regions right across Iran have been hit in the
[2:19] Speaker 1: past twenty four hours. Focus on the capital in Tehran,
[2:24] Speaker 1: but as you can see, multiple other locations, all military
[2:28] Speaker 1: locations in the western half of the country. Why because
[2:33] Speaker 1: that is the proximity in which there is the ability
[2:35] Speaker 1: to launch something and send it a couple of hours
[2:38] Speaker 1: west towards Israel. Now, are there more places to hit
[2:43] Speaker 1: that would take out the infrastructure of the country that
[2:46] Speaker 1: is Iran? Yes, which is why the President of the
[2:49] Speaker 1: United States has said previously that this is not one
[2:52] Speaker 1: and done that the expectation is that this is multiples. Now,
[2:56] Speaker 1: whether you go hard, you take out the toller in
[3:00] Speaker 1: the past twenty four hours sending a message to everyone
[3:03] Speaker 1: from his deputies and down, which is all right, one
[3:06] Speaker 1: last chance to negotiate, or we're going to take you
[3:09] Speaker 1: two Inside Tehran, the hit on the leadership was taking
[3:14] Speaker 1: place as they were meeting. Again, think about the levels
[3:17] Speaker 1: of intelligence technology that is required to know behind closed
[3:23] Speaker 1: doors who is meeting now. In much of the coverage,
[3:27] Speaker 1: it's been fascinating to see the little leaks of information
[3:30] Speaker 1: about how they were able to work things out. Now,
[3:33] Speaker 1: one of the signs may well have been an increase
[3:36] Speaker 1: in cell phone use in and around the building in
[3:40] Speaker 1: which the Ayah toler was. There may have also been
[3:43] Speaker 1: some indications about an increase in the amount of Internet
[3:46] Speaker 1: activity that was happening in that one place, because as
[3:50] Speaker 1: you can see across Tehran, many other places were hit. Again,
[3:54] Speaker 1: these weren't just about taking out what were the capacity
[3:57] Speaker 1: of the now damage regime to be able to fire
[4:00] Speaker 1: back at Israel, but also to be able to try
[4:05] Speaker 1: to not just remove the absolute top of the tree
[4:09] Speaker 1: or the head of the snake, but also to start
[4:10] Speaker 1: to chop a little further down. Now, of course, the
[4:15] Speaker 1: biggest story of the past twenty four hours is that
[4:17] Speaker 1: the man who has terrorized his own people and threatened
[4:20] Speaker 1: the world for decades is now dead.
[4:24] Speaker 2: Yes, Sandra, we just got this in literally two minutes ago,
[4:28] Speaker 2: but Fox News can confirm that Iran's supreme leader, the
[4:32] Speaker 2: Ayatola Hamanai, is dead following Israeli strikes against his compound
[4:38] Speaker 2: and location earlier today.
[4:40] Speaker 1: Geez, you can watch that over and over and over
[4:42] Speaker 1: and over and over again. Right, really bad guy gone.
[4:45] Speaker 1: This is fantastic news for the world, most importantly for
[4:49] Speaker 1: the people of the country that he has terrorized for decades,
[4:52] Speaker 1: and then of course to the allies of the West
[4:55] Speaker 1: that exist in Israel, but also to Arab countries that
[4:59] Speaker 1: don't want to play the same game as Iran. Over
[5:03] Speaker 1: the past ten years, in particular, as you've seen places
[5:07] Speaker 1: like Cutter host things like a World Cup. Yes, they've
[5:11] Speaker 1: also been a safe haven for Hamas terrorists, but they
[5:15] Speaker 1: have not been throwing the types of missiles that have
[5:19] Speaker 1: been coming from places like Iran again, Jordan, the UAE,
[5:23] Speaker 1: lots of other places that are trying to present a
[5:25] Speaker 1: very different front than the closed door that is there
[5:29] Speaker 1: when it comes to Iran. Now, in terms of the
[5:32] Speaker 1: global leadership, the countries that were not directly involved in
[5:36] Speaker 1: the strikes but certainly have come out to support them
[5:40] Speaker 1: in the past twenty four hours has been the three
[5:43] Speaker 1: nations that had previously cited against the United States and
[5:46] Speaker 1: against Israel on diplomacy matters, including about the recognition of Palestine.
[5:51] Speaker 1: But they understand that there are many complicating factors here
[5:55] Speaker 1: and wiping the Iranian leadership off the board is good
[5:59] Speaker 1: for everyone.
[6:02] Speaker 3: The United Kingdom played no role in these strikes, but
[6:07] Speaker 3: we have long been clear the regime in Iran is
[6:12] Speaker 3: utterly abhorrent.
[6:13] Speaker 4: Ayatollah Khamani was responsible for the regimes ballistic missile and
[6:18] Speaker 4: nuclear program, support for armed proxies, and its brutal acts
[6:23] Speaker 4: of violence and intimidation against its own people. Here is
[6:27] Speaker 4: responsible for orchestrating attacks on Australian soil. He's passing will
[6:34] Speaker 4: not be mourned.
[6:35] Speaker 5: Canada stands with the Iranian people and their long and
[6:38] Speaker 5: courageous struggle against this oppressive regime, and we reaffirm Israel's
[6:44] Speaker 5: rate to defend itself. Canada supports the United States acting
[6:49] Speaker 5: to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to
[6:53] Speaker 5: prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security.
[6:57] Speaker 1: Now the face that he's the United Nations George W.
[7:01] Speaker 1: Bush back in two thousand and three essentially rendered them
[7:04] Speaker 1: powerless in their ability to restrain the United States from
[7:07] Speaker 1: doing what the United States wants to do. Well, there's
[7:11] Speaker 1: plenty of flapping of guns and waving fingers, and the
[7:14] Speaker 1: veto power of Russia and China, which previously has been
[7:18] Speaker 1: able to help out regimes like Iran well has been
[7:21] Speaker 1: pushed aside, which means you just got speeches not much else.
[7:25] Speaker 1: At the United Nations Security Council that met today.
[7:29] Speaker 6: The number of innocent civilians continues to raise. This is
[7:33] Speaker 6: not only an act of faguration, it is a world
[7:36] Speaker 6: crime and a crime against humanity. The justification advanced by
[7:41] Speaker 6: the representative of the United States today or illegal, an
[7:45] Speaker 6: entirely devoid of legal foundation. The base allegation involved to
[7:51] Speaker 6: defend this unlawful use of force have no standing on
[7:55] Speaker 6: their international law.
[7:58] Speaker 1: How dare anyone presenting this barbarous regime talk about civilians?
[8:03] Speaker 1: Remember when millions of people were taking to the streets
[8:07] Speaker 1: of Iran, Thousands of them were murdered in two days
[8:11] Speaker 1: because they took to the streets. They took to the
[8:14] Speaker 1: streets to try to overthrow the people who have kept
[8:18] Speaker 1: them in relative poverty and certainly come off from the
[8:21] Speaker 1: rest of the world for decades. A place that treats
[8:25] Speaker 1: anything that is not approved by the regime as a
[8:29] Speaker 1: threat to the regime. That includes women, It includes homosexuals,
[8:33] Speaker 1: It includes people who god b believe in any other God,
[8:38] Speaker 1: or any other version of Islam than the version of
[8:40] Speaker 1: which they choose to practice. To pretend that innocent civilians
[8:44] Speaker 1: is a card that they get to play. Thinking that
[8:46] Speaker 1: they somehow are going to invoke the so called popular
[8:50] Speaker 1: support that has existed for places like Palestine and Gaza
[8:57] Speaker 1: is a disgrace. That is just a disgrace for them
[8:59] Speaker 1: to big even thinking to go there now and say
[9:03] Speaker 1: that in reference to a slot on Israel. It's just
[9:05] Speaker 1: the reality of what we have seen taking to the
[9:07] Speaker 1: streets around the world in the past couple of years.
[9:08] Speaker 1: The reaction to this very different, very very different part
[9:13] Speaker 1: of Iran's response has been, and even after the death
[9:16] Speaker 1: of the person who theoretically would be able to order
[9:18] Speaker 1: these strikes, is that, as you know, they have been
[9:22] Speaker 1: hitting lots of fellow Arab nations. Now, they have been
[9:26] Speaker 1: hitting fellow Arab nations that have either got American infrastructure
[9:29] Speaker 1: in them or military bases, or have either been sitting
[9:34] Speaker 1: on the sidelines of the most recent violence that has
[9:37] Speaker 1: happened over the past couple of years. Now, as you
[9:40] Speaker 1: can see, Iran has hit Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, It's
[9:45] Speaker 1: hit airports, it's hit hotels, and yes, it is trying
[9:49] Speaker 1: to hit the military facilities because in the map that
[9:53] Speaker 1: hopefully I've got up here for you in a second,
[9:54] Speaker 1: here the water areas. That's where, of course, the US
[9:58] Speaker 1: Navy has been able to launch. What they have been
[10:00] Speaker 1: able to do in the past twenty four hours now
[10:05] Speaker 1: amazingly and importantly to see here the celebrations from the
[10:09] Speaker 1: people who have ended up in other countries because of
[10:11] Speaker 1: the brutality of the useless regime that has now been
[10:15] Speaker 1: in place for the best part of fifty years. Means
[10:18] Speaker 1: there is a very significant Iranian diaspora around the world.
[10:22] Speaker 1: There were celebrations in the streets of Sydney tonight. We'll
[10:27] Speaker 1: show you those photos a little bit later, but some
[10:29] Speaker 1: of the celebrations extending as far as New York City
[10:32] Speaker 1: are worth noting. A bad guy died today.
[10:37] Speaker 7: The celebration is striking. We got here just moments after
[10:42] Speaker 7: initial reports. Initial rumors of the death of Iotolo Kamane
[10:46] Speaker 7: had just started to trickle from Iran to this diaspora community,
[10:52] Speaker 7: and people were jumping in excitement, hugging each other, crying,
[10:56] Speaker 7: saying that basically they've been waiting forty seven years for it.
[11:00] Speaker 7: This very day, Jessicate, is the reason so many of
[11:03] Speaker 7: them have come out here today. I want you to
[11:06] Speaker 7: hear it from one of them. Specifically, his thoughts right
[11:09] Speaker 7: after learning that the supreme leader of Iran was.
[11:13] Speaker 8: That when is the last time you saw people in
[11:15] Speaker 8: Israel and Iran dancing on the streets and excitement And
[11:18] Speaker 8: when is the last time you've ever heard of a
[11:21] Speaker 8: country coming out and dancing because they're excited that foreign
[11:25] Speaker 8: powers are attacking them.
[11:28] Speaker 1: Now some of the reaction has been interesting to note
[11:31] Speaker 1: here that there is a class of people in the
[11:34] Speaker 1: United States who believe that things like this don't help
[11:37] Speaker 1: the United States. Now. They exist in extreme left, but
[11:42] Speaker 1: they are also starting to pop up in the protectionist right.
[11:45] Speaker 1: Tucker Carlson has been somebody highly critical of Israel AND's
[11:49] Speaker 1: supposed influence over the United States, and he has apparently
[11:53] Speaker 1: spoken to a reporter in the past couple of days
[11:57] Speaker 1: working for ABC America suggesting that he's absolute lutely disgusted
[12:01] Speaker 1: and thinks that the attacks were evil. He also suggests
[12:04] Speaker 1: that it will be a significant effect on Trump's political movement.
[12:07] Speaker 1: This is going to shuffle the deck in a profound way.
[12:11] Speaker 1: I'm not imagining Tucker Carlson at all are about to
[12:14] Speaker 1: run off towards the Democrats anytime soon, because well, this
[12:18] Speaker 1: in part is what the highest of profile Democrats is
[12:21] Speaker 1: saying the newly elected mayor of New York.
[12:26] Speaker 9: Today's military strikes by the United States and Israel mark
[12:30] Speaker 9: a catastrophic escalation in an illegal, active war of aggression,
[12:36] Speaker 9: bombing cities, killing civilians, opening up a new theater of war.
[12:41] Speaker 9: Americans do not want this. Americans do not want another
[12:44] Speaker 9: war in pursuit of regime change. We want an answer
[12:47] Speaker 9: to the affordability crisis. We want peace.
[12:49] Speaker 1: That this outrageous, all right now, Iran and its effect
[12:55] Speaker 1: around the world, including Remember Australia expelled the ambassador from
[12:59] Speaker 1: Iran because Iran was involved in problems here. Iran is
[13:06] Speaker 1: one of the automatic three suspects that always happened when
[13:10] Speaker 1: it comes to international influence cybersecurity. So that's us here
[13:15] Speaker 1: in Australia, let alone in a place like New York City,
[13:18] Speaker 1: let alone places like London MTG. Again the former Republican congresswoman,
[13:24] Speaker 1: she too, has screeted that all of this is the
[13:27] Speaker 1: wrong thing. No more foreign wars, no more regime change now.
[13:30] Speaker 1: I was highly critical of almost everything about the Iraq War.
[13:34] Speaker 1: I recognized the bravery of the service of the men
[13:36] Speaker 1: and women who were involved in it, the painful price
[13:38] Speaker 1: that has been paid by too many, But that was
[13:41] Speaker 1: all about Remember the fake weapons of mass destruction. Also,
[13:44] Speaker 1: remember the way that war worked, which essentially was US
[13:47] Speaker 1: troops on the ground going from the outer borders of
[13:50] Speaker 1: Iraq all the way into Baghdad. And then the hand
[13:53] Speaker 1: to hand combat because the military had fallen away in
[13:57] Speaker 1: Iraq and it was the insurgents and the terrorists that
[14:00] Speaker 1: ended up taking over. Well, this is to this moment
[14:03] Speaker 1: something that is only happening from up high. It's the
[14:06] Speaker 1: President of the United States who is not saying that
[14:08] Speaker 1: it's going to be American troops that are going to
[14:10] Speaker 1: go door to door to get rid of the government. Instead,
[14:13] Speaker 1: it is a task that he is putting onto the
[14:15] Speaker 1: Iranian people. The only problem, of course, is that the
[14:18] Speaker 1: Iranian people who are not friendly to the regime have
[14:21] Speaker 1: been unarmed. They do not have weapons. Their capacity to
[14:26] Speaker 1: be able to confront them in a military sense is
[14:30] Speaker 1: very difficult. It is about people power, and that is
[14:33] Speaker 1: people power that we have seen this regime, no matter
[14:36] Speaker 1: who is leading, it is brutal in the way that
[14:39] Speaker 1: it is dealing with it. Now, there are plenty of
[14:41] Speaker 1: people here in Australia who have skin in the game
[14:44] Speaker 1: because it is about from where they are from. It
[14:46] Speaker 1: is about of where their family and friends are and
[14:48] Speaker 1: run a dad Pour joints us now she's the founder
[14:50] Speaker 1: of an organization called oz Iran. How are you feeling
[14:54] Speaker 1: now that the news has started to settle in that
[14:56] Speaker 1: this bad guy is gone, but the regime regime still stands.
[15:02] Speaker 10: Hi, Paul, thank you so much for having me look
[15:06] Speaker 10: for our community. It's all joy. It's a historical moment,
[15:11] Speaker 10: a moment that many in the Iranian Australian community and
[15:15] Speaker 10: many Iranians inside Iran have been waiting for. And you know,
[15:19] Speaker 10: it's a kind of just getting that sense of justice
[15:22] Speaker 10: for them. Many of them have been victims of this regime.
[15:26] Speaker 10: Us here in Australia, the Australian Iranian community, many of
[15:30] Speaker 10: us have been the victim of this regime. We basically
[15:32] Speaker 10: came here, We fled the IRGC and the regime. So
[15:36] Speaker 10: what I hear from the diaspora here and on the
[15:39] Speaker 10: ground inside Iran, everyone is happy about what had happened
[15:42] Speaker 10: to how many and the fact that this murder is
[15:47] Speaker 10: not any longer alive is a very good news.
[15:50] Speaker 1: So the diaspora is actually quite significant in Australia. It's
[15:53] Speaker 1: tens of thousands. What's the number on the number of
[15:56] Speaker 1: people who are our fellow Australians who have got relations, friends,
[16:01] Speaker 1: family right in the middle of this.
[16:03] Speaker 10: I think the number girls around fifty thousand, fifty thousand
[16:07] Speaker 10: Iranian Australian. But then you can add to that our
[16:11] Speaker 10: second generations as well. You know people who who have
[16:15] Speaker 10: never been to Iran, but they feel very close to
[16:18] Speaker 10: Iran and the culture, and you know they have a
[16:21] Speaker 10: family members down there.
[16:23] Speaker 1: How does it work? Because again, I've got an Iranian
[16:26] Speaker 1: made of mine in Bruceban that I see every few
[16:29] Speaker 1: months and I get the chance to talk and he's
[16:31] Speaker 1: educated me about the VPNs and the chat groups and
[16:35] Speaker 1: the different ways that information comes into the country and
[16:38] Speaker 1: can come out of the country. Almost everyone is very
[16:41] Speaker 1: well versed on how to get this information. Have you
[16:45] Speaker 1: been able to contact people that you know or are
[16:50] Speaker 1: even the ways you've found around the system not working
[16:53] Speaker 1: at the moment because obviously there's a lot of people
[16:56] Speaker 1: around the world trying to reach back to find out
[16:58] Speaker 1: how the families are going.
[17:00] Speaker 10: Yeah. Absolutely so. Internet in Iran is under complete control
[17:03] Speaker 10: of the regime and the IRGC, and they have this
[17:07] Speaker 10: button they press it every time there's a protest or
[17:09] Speaker 10: something happening to disconnect Iranian people from the outside work.
[17:14] Speaker 10: The internet was disconnected last night, but around five am
[17:19] Speaker 10: I woke up with a call that came into my
[17:22] Speaker 10: phone from Iran, and it was my mother. I could
[17:24] Speaker 10: hear her laughing and you know, chanting and cheering. I
[17:30] Speaker 10: could hear the voice of the street at the background,
[17:33] Speaker 10: and you know, I asked what was happening. She actually
[17:36] Speaker 10: was the one who told me. They said, homony is gone.
[17:38] Speaker 10: Homony is gone. The whole neighborhood is in the street
[17:41] Speaker 10: and everyone is celebrating. So she told me that people
[17:44] Speaker 10: were on the street and they were offering each other
[17:47] Speaker 10: suits and you know, they're just hugging each other and
[17:52] Speaker 10: celebrating the fact that this terrorist is gone.
[17:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, we're just having a look at some images here
[17:58] Speaker 1: which are some the protests were not The celebrations are
[18:02] Speaker 1: taking place in Hyde Park in Sydney. A bit of
[18:06] Speaker 1: a trick from where much of the diaspora is based.
[18:09] Speaker 1: But good to see that joy spreading to Australia. But
[18:14] Speaker 1: let's talk about what I mentioned before, and I want
[18:16] Speaker 1: you to educate those of us that are trying to
[18:18] Speaker 1: get our heads around all of this, which is Donald
[18:22] Speaker 1: Trump has said that it's up to the citizens to
[18:24] Speaker 1: take back their country. But unlike pre unlike similar situations
[18:28] Speaker 1: when you are trying to depose a government, the resistance
[18:33] Speaker 1: doesn't have the same weaponry. The hope is here, obviously,
[18:38] Speaker 1: that sensing where the majority of the population is that
[18:42] Speaker 1: the people who are holding the guns on the behalf
[18:45] Speaker 1: of the government, that they start to turn, that they
[18:49] Speaker 1: start to put those guns down, as we saw in Iraq.
[18:52] Speaker 1: But give me an idea about that. The millions of
[18:54] Speaker 1: people who have already taken to the streets, but tens
[18:57] Speaker 1: of thousands died doing that, how do they take their
[19:01] Speaker 1: country back.
[19:04] Speaker 10: It's a very good question, Paul. So right now, the
[19:08] Speaker 10: head of the snake Aggets you explained, is gone, but
[19:13] Speaker 10: that doesn't mean that the regime is gone. The Islamic
[19:16] Speaker 10: Republic regime is a complicated system. So it includes intelligence,
[19:20] Speaker 10: it is scludes army, It has lots of cultural, you know,
[19:24] Speaker 10: branches to it, and it has its own members. And
[19:28] Speaker 10: as you said, they have all the weapons inside Iran
[19:32] Speaker 10: and Iranian people they took to the street many times
[19:36] Speaker 10: the last two months ago as well, and they got
[19:39] Speaker 10: basically massacred. So I think right now, as President not suggested,
[19:47] Speaker 10: and also Parlavisa Palavi also said, they suggested that people
[19:51] Speaker 10: are going to stay inside home right now, inside their houses,
[19:55] Speaker 10: and when they finished their job, then it's the turn.
[19:58] Speaker 10: It's when Iranian people can go back to the throughst
[20:01] Speaker 10: and actually take out the government basically. But there needs
[20:06] Speaker 10: to be also a very clear and direct relationship between
[20:11] Speaker 10: a transition the transitional group that exists here in diaspora,
[20:15] Speaker 10: and you know that in direct contact with the Iranian people
[20:19] Speaker 10: inside Iran and the US and Israeli governments who are
[20:23] Speaker 10: doing you know, the big job in Iran right now.
[20:28] Speaker 1: And again I'm oversimplifying, but that is the joy of
[20:33] Speaker 1: the TV host and the Australian in me about what
[20:36] Speaker 1: is very complicated and understand how helpful you are in
[20:39] Speaker 1: taking us through this complexity is there's obviously people who
[20:43] Speaker 1: after this regime, they would either we certainly know that
[20:46] Speaker 1: the son of the former leadership wants to return. There's
[20:50] Speaker 1: also people who don't want anything like monarchy the capacity
[20:54] Speaker 1: to be able to elect a leader. And that's all
[20:57] Speaker 1: what sits in front of us. I just want to
[20:59] Speaker 1: show also before we let you go, and again Runner,
[21:01] Speaker 1: thank you so much for taking us through all of
[21:03] Speaker 1: this year. Consider yourself our mate, and we're going to
[21:05] Speaker 1: talk back with you a few times over the week
[21:08] Speaker 1: to help us through. With your fellow Australians here. This
[21:10] Speaker 1: is the New York Times who put out a list
[21:12] Speaker 1: of basically the hierarchy of Iran. The Supreme Leader, who
[21:16] Speaker 1: was to be leader for life, is now dead. The
[21:19] Speaker 1: head of the National Defense Council is dead, the commander
[21:23] Speaker 1: of the IRGC is dead. The Defense Minister is dead. However,
[21:28] Speaker 1: there'll be an interim Council apparently that will make some
[21:31] Speaker 1: decision about a replacement. Here, the suggestion is that it
[21:34] Speaker 1: is either going to be the president currently or the
[21:38] Speaker 1: Secretary of Supreme of the National Security Council who would
[21:41] Speaker 1: end up in that position. My expectation would be, given
[21:44] Speaker 1: what Donald Trump had said, that this is not one
[21:47] Speaker 1: and done, They're going to keep coming for them. In
[21:50] Speaker 1: the same way that the old Pack of Cards was
[21:52] Speaker 1: used to hunt down Saddam Hussein in all elements of
[21:54] Speaker 1: his government. You would imagine that the targeting is almost
[21:58] Speaker 1: everyone on that list, meaning no one would want to
[22:01] Speaker 1: take over.
[22:03] Speaker 10: Yeah, that's that's basically yeah what I think as well.
[22:07] Speaker 10: So these lists have been published, but we need to
[22:10] Speaker 10: consider also there are names on the lists. But Harmony
[22:16] Speaker 10: had been a dictator for a very long time, and
[22:18] Speaker 10: the closed sequel that he made around himself and the
[22:22] Speaker 10: closed way of governing, that everything must go through him
[22:27] Speaker 10: in order to be to happen inside it on anything
[22:30] Speaker 10: from the smallest to the largest decisions had been made
[22:34] Speaker 10: by him. So I think they have the regime at
[22:38] Speaker 10: the moment has a very difficult position right now. First
[22:43] Speaker 10: of all, they don't have many people left. And second
[22:46] Speaker 10: of all, that fear that exists among them right now
[22:50] Speaker 10: that anyone, any names that would be put out there
[22:52] Speaker 10: there might be the target of an assassination even tomorrow.
[22:56] Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I mean, remember, of course what was taking
[22:57] Speaker 1: place with Hezbel when they strike in Lebanon, that they
[23:01] Speaker 1: took the leadership, they took the next level, and then
[23:03] Speaker 1: anyone wanting to put their head up guess what they
[23:05] Speaker 1: came for them to Rana, thank you so much. I
[23:08] Speaker 1: really appreciate this. Again. We're going to talk to you
[23:09] Speaker 1: again as the week roles on, because you can help
[23:11] Speaker 1: hold our hand through all of it. But I tell
[23:12] Speaker 1: you this, the freedom loving people of the world, they've
[23:14] Speaker 1: got your back. Free Iran, Free Iran, Free Iran. Strength
[23:17] Speaker 1: and love to you and your family. Julian Lisa is
[23:20] Speaker 1: a member of the federal opposition. He's got a significant
[23:22] Speaker 1: Persian community in his northern city seat of Barrora. You
[23:26] Speaker 1: too would be celebrating what has happened in the past
[23:28] Speaker 1: twenty four hours. But let's turn two. What I was
[23:30] Speaker 1: just talking about with Rana, which is what none of
[23:33] Speaker 1: us know the next twenty four hours.
[23:38] Speaker 11: Well, Paul, let's celebrate what we've seen. This is a
[23:40] Speaker 11: good day for the Iranian people. It's a good day
[23:43] Speaker 11: for everyone around the world that supports freedom, democracy and
[23:47] Speaker 11: human rights. One of the world's worst human rights abuses
[23:50] Speaker 11: has been killed. He exported terrorism around the world and
[23:55] Speaker 11: abused the human rights of his people at home. No
[23:58] Speaker 11: one will mourn this man. And as someone who represents
[24:01] Speaker 11: the fourth largest Persian community in the country, can I
[24:04] Speaker 11: say the Persians in Burrora are astonishingly brave. They've been
[24:08] Speaker 11: subjected to harassment here, their families are subjected to terrorism
[24:12] Speaker 11: at home. Across the board, the death of the Ayah
[24:16] Speaker 11: Toler is welcomed.
[24:17] Speaker 1: Yeah, my oath. Now give us an idea here too
[24:20] Speaker 1: about some of the positioning that has come from the
[24:23] Speaker 1: federal government. I know some have read into the tone
[24:28] Speaker 1: of the Prime Minister's comments. I'm not going to join
[24:31] Speaker 1: that criticism. Because he's come out and he's made it
[24:33] Speaker 1: very clear that he supports what has taken place here. Again,
[24:37] Speaker 1: how Belakosi is about all of that, I'm not reading
[24:41] Speaker 1: any deeper politics, and I'm the hardest marker that he has.
[24:44] Speaker 1: How do you feel about the performance of the government
[24:46] Speaker 1: of Penny Wong. They didn't seem to go into the
[24:48] Speaker 1: de escalation world that they have gone to in the past.
[24:54] Speaker 11: Well, I think we should be very clear that we
[24:56] Speaker 11: should all support the actions of America and Israel in
[24:59] Speaker 11: getting rid of a terrorist regime and a terrorist actor
[25:02] Speaker 11: that attacked our own country. There should be no we've
[25:06] Speaker 11: saw butts about that, and I think in some respects
[25:09] Speaker 11: this was a very good statement from the Prime Minister
[25:12] Speaker 11: and it needs to be said, Paul. I've been calling
[25:15] Speaker 11: for us to suspend diplomatic relations with Iran since twenty
[25:18] Speaker 11: twenty three. The coalition has been calling for the IRGC
[25:22] Speaker 11: to be listed since twenty twenty two, and the government
[25:26] Speaker 11: was really late to the party in relation to the
[25:29] Speaker 11: way they dealt with Iran. I think we've had a
[25:31] Speaker 11: generally shambolic foreign policy in relation to the Middle East,
[25:35] Speaker 11: but I have to say it was good to hear
[25:36] Speaker 11: the Prime Minister come out and support the actions of America.
[25:39] Speaker 11: I wanted to hear him say Israel too, because it's
[25:41] Speaker 11: the two nations working together that has got rid of
[25:44] Speaker 11: this terrorist actor who attacked our own country.
[25:47] Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm just noticing here too that in the past
[25:49] Speaker 1: hour there is some reporting that some oil tankers are
[25:53] Speaker 1: now starting to be attacked as well. This is in
[25:57] Speaker 1: that body of water, of course, to the southwest of Iran.
[26:02] Speaker 1: The consequences of the next few days and again where
[26:06] Speaker 1: this goes, we will see what happens when it comes
[26:09] Speaker 1: to the Iranian people, what capacity they have to push
[26:13] Speaker 1: back against. Frankly, the people who have the guns, the
[26:16] Speaker 1: global and certainly the Western desire for boots on the ground,
[26:21] Speaker 1: I think becomes much more complicated than what we've seen
[26:25] Speaker 1: from the air in the past couple of days. Do
[26:28] Speaker 1: you expect what the President had said yesterday, which was
[26:33] Speaker 1: that this was not one and done. This was the
[26:36] Speaker 1: start of a wave of consequences for Iran. And now
[26:42] Speaker 1: that Iran, even post the death of Hamaimi, has been
[26:46] Speaker 1: trying to take out and kill people close to American
[26:50] Speaker 1: facilities all over the region. That only steals the President's
[26:55] Speaker 1: spine to keep going and keep going down that list
[26:58] Speaker 1: of potential successes that we wish showing a bit earlier. Well, Paul,
[27:03] Speaker 1: as you.
[27:03] Speaker 11: Pointed out earlier, it wasn't just the IY tooler who
[27:06] Speaker 11: was taken out. It was a number of his other lieutenants.
[27:09] Speaker 11: It was military installations, it was the IRGC headquarters. There've
[27:14] Speaker 11: been a range of different targets, and they haven't said
[27:17] Speaker 11: the Americans and the Israelis that they finished their bombardment,
[27:21] Speaker 11: as it were, of what goes on there. I want
[27:24] Speaker 11: to address the point that you were making earlier about
[27:27] Speaker 11: can the Iranian stand up? The Iranian people stand up
[27:30] Speaker 11: to the regime. And I think the Iranian people have
[27:33] Speaker 11: been incredibly brave. We've been seeing since December last year
[27:36] Speaker 11: the way in which they've stood up against this regime,
[27:39] Speaker 11: a regime that murdered something like thirty thousand of them
[27:42] Speaker 11: in that period. And when we think about the murders,
[27:45] Speaker 11: it wasn't just gunning people down. I've had stories of
[27:48] Speaker 11: women who've been murdered, who've been raped, children have been raped,
[27:51] Speaker 11: and after they've been murdered, the women's wombs have been
[27:54] Speaker 11: cut out. I mean, this was a savage brutal regime
[27:57] Speaker 11: of the sort that we in Australia just cannot imagine.
[28:01] Speaker 11: And I think the Iranian people have been incredibly brave
[28:04] Speaker 11: and they will continue to be incredibly brave in standing
[28:06] Speaker 11: up to the regime and in carving out hopefully a
[28:10] Speaker 11: democratic future for themselves. I welcome the developments today with
[28:13] Speaker 11: great optimism, as does anyone who would support the Iranian people.
[28:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, very much so, Julian, Thank you so much. Appreciate
[28:21] Speaker 1: the clarity. All the best to your community again, the
[28:24] Speaker 1: joy they feel tonight, the trepidation they may all feel
[28:26] Speaker 1: for the next couple of days. You're an excellent representative
[28:28] Speaker 1: of them in Barra and in the Federal Parliament. Thank
[28:31] Speaker 1: you mate, to appreciate it all. Right, quick break back
[28:33] Speaker 1: with more Michael Kroger and Stephen Conroy here. It's all
[28:36] Speaker 1: a listers tonight. We're not marking around this Sunday night.
[28:40] Speaker 1: There's also a new news poll worth talking about. That's
[28:42] Speaker 1: the domestic politics, but obviously a very big day where
[28:46] Speaker 1: a really bad guy got what was coming to him.
[28:49] Speaker 1: We'll get to more of it in a second, including
[28:51] Speaker 1: a new footage from the IDF about the very moment
[28:54] Speaker 1: when the leader of Iran was blown away. Before we
[29:00] Speaker 1: get to our mates to talk about what has been
[29:02] Speaker 1: happening in the past couple of days. The IDF have
[29:04] Speaker 1: just released incredible footage which was of the moment when
[29:08] Speaker 1: they attacked the compound that had the now former Iranian
[29:12] Speaker 1: leader in it. Some thirty separate bombs are used, and
[29:17] Speaker 1: obviously we'll keep that rolling multiple times over if we can, Guy,
[29:21] Speaker 1: so people are seeing it and so you're able to
[29:23] Speaker 1: watch that they didn't just hit a corner of the building.
[29:25] Speaker 1: They take out multiple they take out things to the
[29:28] Speaker 1: side of it as well. A statement that has come
[29:32] Speaker 1: via social media about this as well says from the
[29:36] Speaker 1: Israeli Defense Force that for the first time since the
[29:38] Speaker 1: start of what they have called Operation Roaring Lion, the
[29:42] Speaker 1: IAF is striking targets belonging to the terror regime the
[29:45] Speaker 1: heart of Tehran. Over the past day, the IAF has
[29:49] Speaker 1: conducted large scale strikes to establish aerial superiority and pave
[29:54] Speaker 1: the path to Tehran. Now that's a boots on the
[29:58] Speaker 1: ground statement that is coming from Israel. Coming from the
[30:01] Speaker 1: United States again, the political reaction in Australia comes from
[30:06] Speaker 1: Andrew Hasty. Of course, who had served in the Middle
[30:09] Speaker 1: East previously before entering Parliament, and he too shares the
[30:13] Speaker 1: joy of a bad guy being wiped off the face
[30:16] Speaker 1: of the earth.
[30:17] Speaker 5: Well, I think Ryan is an enemy of Australia.
[30:19] Speaker 12: They've conducted terrorism on our shores, and they're also.
[30:23] Speaker 5: A geopolitical bad actor.
[30:26] Speaker 12: They've been seeking a nuclear weapon for some time and
[30:28] Speaker 12: they've just murdered upwards of twenty five thousand of their
[30:32] Speaker 12: own citizens over the last year.
[30:34] Speaker 1: Stephen Conroy, Michael Kroger, you know their knowledge, their skin
[30:38] Speaker 1: in the game, and their clarity about what has happened
[30:40] Speaker 1: in the past twenty four hours. Lads, again, out of
[30:43] Speaker 1: respect to those that have probably like us, been watching
[30:46] Speaker 1: all day every day, let's not go too far back
[30:49] Speaker 1: into history, but start to look forward. That said Stephen,
[30:53] Speaker 1: as you just saw there, the absolute nature of what
[30:56] Speaker 1: has taken place in the past twenty four hours can't
[30:58] Speaker 1: be under discussed, and also the reality that they've essentially
[31:02] Speaker 1: tried to hit hundreds of places at once to try
[31:06] Speaker 1: to decapitate as they have successfully been able to do
[31:10] Speaker 1: much of the Iranian leadership. But it is not the
[31:15] Speaker 1: beginning of the end. It's the end of the beginning
[31:18] Speaker 1: or whatever you're supposed to say at these moments.
[31:21] Speaker 13: No, look absolutely right. I mean this is a devastating
[31:27] Speaker 13: decapitation of the Iranian leadership. I mean I had to
[31:31] Speaker 13: agree with everything Andrew Hasty just said that. You showed
[31:35] Speaker 13: this is a murderous regime. It's butchered its own people.
[31:37] Speaker 13: It's sponsored and funded terrorism all around the world, including
[31:42] Speaker 13: most recently here in Australia, where it's allegedly paid gangsters
[31:50] Speaker 13: to operate and attack synagogues and do worse here in Australia.
[31:55] Speaker 13: So I don't think there's a many Australians, except, of course,
[32:00] Speaker 13: as we've seen some just you know, the.
[32:02] Speaker 1: Left just can't help themselves.
[32:03] Speaker 13: They've never found a good dictatorship that they can't get behind.
[32:08] Speaker 13: So I put the Looney Tunes brigade over in one corner.
[32:13] Speaker 13: But the vast, vast majority of Australians will celebrate the
[32:19] Speaker 13: removal of this leadership. Now, what happens next in terms
[32:23] Speaker 13: of can those poor oppressed people who've been protesting in
[32:28] Speaker 13: the streets a number of times over the last ten
[32:30] Speaker 13: years and being butchered for it, are they able to
[32:34] Speaker 13: take control and have some self determination or will the
[32:39] Speaker 13: Iranian Republican Guard or the other part of their armed forces,
[32:44] Speaker 13: or that militia that they've used where people bikers going
[32:48] Speaker 13: around to shooting people. So how that evolves over coming
[32:54] Speaker 13: weeks will be fascinating to watch. But you hope that
[32:57] Speaker 13: the poor people have Iran get a little bit more
[33:00] Speaker 13: in their own futures.
[33:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean again, Michael, the idea of suggesting that
[33:04] Speaker 1: this was about establishing aerial premacy and pave the path
[33:09] Speaker 1: to Tehran. Again, we know about that. We'll get to
[33:12] Speaker 1: this in a second. The political complications around Trump and
[33:15] Speaker 1: American troops, but the concept of Israel making it very
[33:19] Speaker 1: obvious that we know where people are and path two
[33:23] Speaker 1: would suggest that we are talking about not one and
[33:26] Speaker 1: done in the past twenty four hours, but something that
[33:28] Speaker 1: gets much more complicated and yes, much more bloody in
[33:31] Speaker 1: the next of all.
[33:32] Speaker 12: What Yeah, they've just started. But Paul Colo set off
[33:37] Speaker 12: by saying, tonight, I'm smiling, I'm happy, I'm elated. It's
[33:45] Speaker 12: a day of courage, it's a day of pride, it's
[33:49] Speaker 12: the day of victory. It's the day we've been waiting
[33:52] Speaker 12: for Paul to have freedom for the Iranian people and
[33:59] Speaker 12: what's going to happen is I mean this ludicrous commentary
[34:01] Speaker 12: I've seen on some of these American networks, global networks
[34:04] Speaker 12: saying Trump might declare victory and leave. You don't think
[34:07] Speaker 12: he hasn't been working for months on a plan for
[34:10] Speaker 12: a post destruction reconstruction of a new government. I mean,
[34:17] Speaker 12: the main reason, I think, apart from providing anti missile
[34:22] Speaker 12: batteries for some of his neighbors, friends like Katar, etc.
[34:26] Speaker 12: I think the main reason they've been delaying this bombing
[34:29] Speaker 12: is because they're working out who's going to run a
[34:32] Speaker 12: new government. I mean these commentary which says, oh, who
[34:35] Speaker 12: knows what's going to happen. The Americans have got no idea,
[34:38] Speaker 12: no one's getting I mean, that's all rubbish. They know
[34:41] Speaker 12: exactly what they're going to be doing in terms of
[34:43] Speaker 12: reconstructing a government in Tehran. This is going to go
[34:48] Speaker 12: for weeks, it may go for months. They're going to
[34:49] Speaker 12: continue to bomb the you know what out of the IRGC,
[34:54] Speaker 12: the Iranian leadership, you know, missile launches, et cetera, et cetera.
[35:00] Speaker 12: This is about one thing, and one thing only, regime change.
[35:02] Speaker 1: He's had enough.
[35:03] Speaker 12: He's going to change the world This was always going
[35:05] Speaker 12: to happen, right, This was always going to happen. A
[35:08] Speaker 12: number of us have been saying for weeks this is
[35:10] Speaker 12: about regime change, and he will change the world for
[35:14] Speaker 12: the rest of this century. And tonight I think we
[35:17] Speaker 12: can condemn one group of people if you have a
[35:19] Speaker 12: look at some of the members of the arts communities
[35:22] Speaker 12: here and worldwide, and they're disgusting comments about the Americans
[35:27] Speaker 12: and Trump and the Israelis, these people, Oh my goodness,
[35:31] Speaker 12: there's a sickness in our arts community that requires a
[35:34] Speaker 12: good looking at by that Royal Commission into Anti Semitism, may.
[35:39] Speaker 1: Well, well again, well, certainly then they're not taking eyewitnesses
[35:42] Speaker 1: reports from what's happening in Bondai. They've decided to clear
[35:45] Speaker 1: many of the things, so perhaps that could be their focus.
[35:47] Speaker 1: But that again a chap. We'll get back to it
[35:49] Speaker 1: another time. So again, I want to take this from
[35:52] Speaker 1: a position where there might be a lot of people
[35:54] Speaker 1: watching us right now who understandably, you know, they across
[35:58] Speaker 1: this stuff, but they're not into the souper detail. But
[36:02] Speaker 1: essentially taking on Iran Stephen has always been considered to be,
[36:08] Speaker 1: you know, really like this is the Hornet's Nest, all right,
[36:10] Speaker 1: Like if there's a reason why Obama and his Red
[36:13] Speaker 1: Lions and he didn't, and there's reasons even George W.
[36:15] Speaker 1: Bush and they didn't, there's reasons that there has been
[36:18] Speaker 1: a want to go after this for a while. Remember
[36:20] Speaker 1: John McCain, bombomb Ra, all of that, right, And it's because,
[36:24] Speaker 1: as we all know and know about it, not just
[36:27] Speaker 1: that the acts that they have committed, the acts that
[36:29] Speaker 1: they support the people that they also support. But what's
[36:33] Speaker 1: really interesting here is that I think on some level
[36:37] Speaker 1: Iran has been exposed as not having as many friends
[36:42] Speaker 1: as perhaps they thought they did, and their control over
[36:45] Speaker 1: their population domestically might be an iron fist. But we've
[36:50] Speaker 1: seen even in the most recent sort of twelve day
[36:54] Speaker 1: conflicts with Israel, their capacity to arm up and to
[37:00] Speaker 1: take another step up seems to have not been shown.
[37:04] Speaker 1: That said, they're starting to hit neighbors, and they're starting
[37:07] Speaker 1: to hit anything that's got a connection to an American
[37:10] Speaker 1: base or a business in it. What's your sense about
[37:14] Speaker 1: how hard Iran can go from here? If they just
[37:17] Speaker 1: took all of the restricted plates off and they went
[37:20] Speaker 1: as hard as we've all been afraid of in the past.
[37:24] Speaker 11: Yeah.
[37:24] Speaker 13: Look, I mean, I think he made the most important
[37:26] Speaker 13: point there. There is not one single Arab nation barracking
[37:29] Speaker 13: for Iran right now. Iran, for the last twenty years
[37:32] Speaker 13: have played the game of trying to dominate the Middle East,
[37:35] Speaker 13: and they've had their proxies in Hesbala, They've used Hamas
[37:41] Speaker 13: in Gaza. They have extended their reach and destabilization of
[37:46] Speaker 13: the other more moderate Arab states.
[37:49] Speaker 1: Not one.
[37:52] Speaker 13: Arab state is going naughty America, how dare you okay?
[37:57] Speaker 13: So this is a really important shift. Have overplayed its
[38:01] Speaker 13: hands for years. They've now started firing into these nation states,
[38:08] Speaker 13: and they're also saying, well, just a minute, we told
[38:10] Speaker 13: you don't ever do that. We're going to have to
[38:11] Speaker 13: smack your back. So Iran have overplayed their hand. Israel
[38:15] Speaker 13: have been brilliant at taking out Hezbollah, the most virulent
[38:20] Speaker 13: of the known Iranian backed proxies. You've got Syria, where
[38:27] Speaker 13: Iran have had no ability to influence the events in
[38:32] Speaker 13: Syria for the last couple of years. The only the
[38:36] Speaker 13: only remaining offshoot that's causing any public descendant have just
[38:41] Speaker 13: started to a little bit as the Hohothi's in Yemen.
[38:45] Speaker 13: So when you're when you're just you and the hoothies
[38:49] Speaker 13: in Yemen. You know that the global access has absolutely
[38:53] Speaker 13: shifted against Iran. It can go as hard as it wants.
[38:57] Speaker 13: I mean, that'll be collateral to be human loss of life,
[39:01] Speaker 13: but it is absolutely got no influence in the Middle
[39:05] Speaker 13: East anymore.
[39:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, in Bahrain, which is known for many things,
[39:10] Speaker 1: but literally it is a place where a lot of
[39:11] Speaker 1: the Formula one teams have been since testing, and whether
[39:14] Speaker 1: they make it to Melbourne or not matters because all
[39:16] Speaker 1: of the flights in and around. I'm not taking the
[39:19] Speaker 1: motors board angle here. I'm taking the news that's just
[39:21] Speaker 1: come by the New York Times is the governor Bahrain,
[39:24] Speaker 1: which is home to a major US base, has said
[39:27] Speaker 1: they've just intercepted a new wave of Iranian ballistic missiles
[39:30] Speaker 1: and drones that were targeting the country and they've shot
[39:33] Speaker 1: down at least forty five missiles and nine drones. That's
[39:37] Speaker 1: happened in the past hour. Again to that point about
[39:41] Speaker 1: Iran and why it has taken so long to confront them, Michael,
[39:45] Speaker 1: but now at this moment, when we have seen this
[39:48] Speaker 1: slow showing of perhaps how weak their hand could be,
[39:51] Speaker 1: it is not a weak hand overall, but how weak
[39:54] Speaker 1: their hand could be compared to what has been the
[39:59] Speaker 1: red line that even the West wasn't willing to cross
[40:02] Speaker 1: until this weekend.
[40:05] Speaker 12: When you go back to October seventh and Sinhwa who
[40:12] Speaker 12: started the war against Israel and Ya Sinhwar is the
[40:18] Speaker 12: cause of what is happening in the world today, and
[40:23] Speaker 12: Iran overreached as we know, we know their history. The
[40:28] Speaker 12: question is what happens going forward? Well, this region will
[40:31] Speaker 12: fall within weeks or months. I don't think the IRGC
[40:34] Speaker 12: will give up. By the way, what else are they
[40:35] Speaker 12: going to do in life?
[40:36] Speaker 1: What the business?
[40:38] Speaker 12: The business model is war. They're like Hamas, They're like
[40:40] Speaker 12: the Palestinian leadership. Their business model is war.
[40:43] Speaker 1: That's all I know.
[40:44] Speaker 12: But this has some dramatic consequences for the world. I
[40:47] Speaker 12: think you can say with reasonable certainty that the government
[40:50] Speaker 12: of Cuba will fall by Christmas. And in the meantime,
[40:55] Speaker 12: I think it's less likely that China will take any
[40:58] Speaker 12: action against Taiwan for the following reason. The Chinese leadership
[41:03] Speaker 12: would be sitting around Paul thinking, now do we want
[41:06] Speaker 12: to take a risk on invading Taiwan? With Donald Trump
[41:09] Speaker 12: in the White House or should we wait till we
[41:13] Speaker 12: have President Gavin Newsom the Chinese play the long game.
[41:17] Speaker 12: I think they'll wait well.
[41:18] Speaker 1: Also very important, by the way, and it's worth a
[41:21] Speaker 1: chat that we'll probably get to tomorrow the use of
[41:24] Speaker 1: Chinese satellites in the past twenty four and forty eight
[41:27] Speaker 1: hours and if they were involved in feeding any sort
[41:30] Speaker 1: of information to the Iranian regime, then that again ratchets
[41:34] Speaker 1: things up along the line seat just discussing. Thank you lads,
[41:36] Speaker 1: appreciate it. Do appreciate the Sunday night appearance from both
[41:39] Speaker 1: of you. Bugger newspaper. We'll get to it in a
[41:41] Speaker 1: few minutes time, but let's keep on a case with
[41:44] Speaker 1: all of this. A reminder, by the way, there's whole
[41:46] Speaker 1: bunch of flights that have been affected out of Australia.
[41:49] Speaker 1: I'll give you some of the list of those, but
[41:51] Speaker 1: I'm just reading here that in and out of Doha
[41:54] Speaker 1: nothing's moving until at least ten pm Monday night local time.
[41:58] Speaker 1: Were hot to see. Just again, on the flights situation,
[42:06] Speaker 1: the connection between Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways is one
[42:10] Speaker 1: that means that there's a bunch of flights that are
[42:12] Speaker 1: due to leave in the next twenty four hours from
[42:14] Speaker 1: Australia to through Doha. As I told you, Doha Airport
[42:19] Speaker 1: which becomes again a connection point to go off to
[42:22] Speaker 1: the rest of the Northern Hemisphere. Well, that is out
[42:25] Speaker 1: of play until at least ten pm local time on Monday.
[42:29] Speaker 1: So VA one Sydney to Doha, Dohart to Sydney, VA two,
[42:34] Speaker 1: Melbourne to Doha VA seven, VA eight, Dohat to Melbourne,
[42:38] Speaker 1: Doehart to Brisbane, VA sixteen and Dohart of Perth VA
[42:42] Speaker 1: twenty two all have been canceled. The airline will have
[42:45] Speaker 1: more information obviously than we do, but yes, don't expect
[42:48] Speaker 1: any giant movement there and there will be massive disruptions
[42:51] Speaker 1: to people making their way to all different partners in
[42:54] Speaker 1: the Middle East, but through the Middle East to go
[42:56] Speaker 1: to the rest of the world. That would be the
[42:58] Speaker 1: main way that we would be able to go and
[43:00] Speaker 1: have lunch with our next guest and our friend Mark Dolan.
[43:02] Speaker 1: Sadly that won't be happening, so we will continue the
[43:04] Speaker 1: conversation here intern Italy. He has of course we talked TV.
[43:09] Speaker 1: You can find his YouTube channel as well. Now interesting
[43:11] Speaker 1: that there has been quite a pushback about Iranian propaganda
[43:15] Speaker 1: that is flooding the United Kingdom. What are examples of
[43:19] Speaker 1: this that some are trying to go after quite hard today. Well,
[43:23] Speaker 1: it's pretty wild.
[43:24] Speaker 14: There used to be a channel called Press TV and
[43:27] Speaker 14: it had nothing to do with the press or the media.
[43:29] Speaker 14: It was basically a mouthpiece for the regime. And more
[43:32] Speaker 14: recently you've got the very cuddly sounding Islamic Human Rights Commission,
[43:38] Speaker 14: which is all about healing the world according to their
[43:41] Speaker 14: official literature. Well, the Charity Commission have looked into it
[43:45] Speaker 14: and Prevent, which is our main sort of counter terror organization,
[43:50] Speaker 14: and what they found is extremist links, terror links, and
[43:56] Speaker 14: it's been going since nineteen ninety seven, very tied in
[43:59] Speaker 14: with the UN who I think I've noticed in the
[44:01] Speaker 14: last few hours Paul have been rather wringing their hands
[44:04] Speaker 14: in relation to this partial liberation of the people of Iran. So, yeah,
[44:10] Speaker 14: there are a lot of the so called charity organizations
[44:13] Speaker 14: there's a case to answer, and it's dangerous because what
[44:15] Speaker 14: they're doing is representing this collapsing regime.
[44:19] Speaker 1: Now you've got about one hundred and fourteen thousand former
[44:22] Speaker 1: Iranian citizens that now live in the United Kingdom. What
[44:25] Speaker 1: have we seen on the streets? Have you sayen what
[44:27] Speaker 1: we've seen in Australia, which has been that celebration of
[44:30] Speaker 1: the past, which has been just beautiful to see. Are
[44:33] Speaker 1: you seeing other parts of the country that don't have
[44:35] Speaker 1: that diaspora that have a weirder reaction to it? What
[44:39] Speaker 1: do you say in that beautiful country of yours, we're.
[44:42] Speaker 14: Seeing all of the above, Paul. So it's wonderful to
[44:45] Speaker 14: witness the celebration of Jewish people and Iranians together celebrating
[44:51] Speaker 14: what they hope will ultimately be the collapse of this awful,
[44:55] Speaker 14: wretched administration. But you've also had the woke progressive left
[45:00] Speaker 14: who have been in central London waving Iranian flags and
[45:04] Speaker 14: essentially propping up the regime, including the deputy leader of
[45:09] Speaker 14: the Green Party, who you would have thought would be
[45:12] Speaker 14: very focused on net zero and recycling and that sort
[45:15] Speaker 14: of thing, But they are incredibly to the left, and
[45:18] Speaker 14: they've tied in, brought up, brought into this rather brutal
[45:23] Speaker 14: ideology that somehow everything Islamic is good, it can do
[45:27] Speaker 14: no wrong, everything Israeli is evil and racist and a disgrace,
[45:32] Speaker 14: and that Western values are not there to be defended.
[45:34] Speaker 14: So it's shocking to see people that should know better
[45:38] Speaker 14: trying to prop up this awful regime.
[45:40] Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, speaking of the Deputy Grainslader, they had quite
[45:44] Speaker 1: a shockwave success which was to be able to take
[45:48] Speaker 1: a seat that the Labor Party at the last election
[45:50] Speaker 1: I think had what one thirteen thousand majority that was
[45:53] Speaker 1: all blown away and they were able to win this seat,
[45:57] Speaker 1: which was in Greater Manchester by a massive And we've
[46:00] Speaker 1: heard in the past couple of days these suggestions and
[46:03] Speaker 1: they're not just suggestions from sort of the world fringe.
[46:05] Speaker 1: They're coming from people who observe the polls and are
[46:09] Speaker 1: allowed to observe the polls about family voting. Put simply
[46:13] Speaker 1: Dad tells everyone else how to vote. That should be illegal,
[46:16] Speaker 1: but it apparently happened.
[46:19] Speaker 14: That's right, And of course we've turned a blind eye
[46:21] Speaker 14: because of so called cultural sensitivities. Well, elections are a
[46:26] Speaker 14: precious thing. Previous generations have fought for our democratic freedom's Paul,
[46:31] Speaker 14: and now in the UK, which is surely one of
[46:34] Speaker 14: the epicenters of global democracy, the free world. You've got
[46:38] Speaker 14: two people going into the voting booth and you've got
[46:41] Speaker 14: Hubby telling the missus. All right, here's where you put
[46:43] Speaker 14: your tick. Completely unacceptable, completely illegal, and you've got the
[46:47] Speaker 14: officials allowing it to happen because they don't want to offend.
[46:51] Speaker 14: This is an assault on our democracy. And Nigel Farrage,
[46:55] Speaker 14: the Reform UK leader whose party came a close second
[46:58] Speaker 14: to the Greens in this constitution, and he wants answers
[47:02] Speaker 14: and he's talking to the authorities about whether the law
[47:04] Speaker 14: has been broken.
[47:06] Speaker 1: It is a real worry.
[47:07] Speaker 14: Plus, the Greens ruthlessly manipulated the Muslim vote with an
[47:12] Speaker 14: incredibly partisan and sectarian approach to the campaign. But here's
[47:16] Speaker 14: the worst thing, Paul. The Green Party approached British Muslims
[47:20] Speaker 14: with a very pro gaza message. What they removed from
[47:24] Speaker 14: their leaflets and literature was references to trans rites and
[47:28] Speaker 14: the legalization of hard drugs and the legalization of prostitution,
[47:33] Speaker 14: all of which are anathema to conservative British Muslims. So
[47:37] Speaker 14: they're pretending to be something they're not and they've won,
[47:40] Speaker 14: which is a worrying precedent.
[47:41] Speaker 1: Well, you had another thing to put in the column
[47:43] Speaker 1: of the useful idiots that are the super progressives, both
[47:47] Speaker 1: in your country and ours. Thank you mate, do appreciate it.
[47:49] Speaker 1: I'll have more fun when we check next week. Mac
[47:50] Speaker 1: Dolan you can find him on YouTube or at talk TV.
[47:53] Speaker 1: There is a new news poll. I'll tell you what
[47:54] Speaker 1: it means for one Nation and the loops next look.
[48:01] Speaker 1: I know we've been talking a lot about the rest
[48:02] Speaker 1: of the world, but the latest news in terms of
[48:04] Speaker 1: the politics in Australia, and this is particularly important because
[48:07] Speaker 1: Parliament is back next week the first time Angus Taylor
[48:09] Speaker 1: will be fronting up as the opposition leader. The questions
[48:12] Speaker 1: it will be taking to the Prime Minister. Well, it
[48:14] Speaker 1: comes with two extra points in the primary vote for
[48:17] Speaker 1: the Liberal Party, but it doesn't come from one nation.
[48:20] Speaker 1: The numbercomes one off the Labor Party, one off the Greens,
[48:22] Speaker 1: one nation still at twenty seven percent. Now, this is
[48:25] Speaker 1: the first and most significant pole that has shown zero
[48:28] Speaker 1: movement from one nation to the Libs. Remember the Morgan
[48:31] Speaker 1: pole had it at more than four points, and I
[48:35] Speaker 1: think the Skonish Polse had it at a couple of
[48:37] Speaker 1: points as well. But no movement towards the Liberal Party
[48:40] Speaker 1: from one nation. That really matters in the News poll.
[48:44] Speaker 1: As for preferred Prime Minister Taylor compared to Lee is
[48:47] Speaker 1: up seven percent thirty seven percent, the Prime Minister down
[48:50] Speaker 1: by four to forty five, but still winning handsomely. There
[48:53] Speaker 1: eighteen percent undecided. Remember if half of them back in
[48:56] Speaker 1: the majority end up with the Prime minister. There is
[48:59] Speaker 1: no two party preferred that is happening. But the red
[49:01] Speaker 1: Bridge pole that I'll get into some detail tomorrow for
[49:04] Speaker 1: you is that outside of the cities, one nation is
[49:08] Speaker 1: leading the two party preferred, but in the cities it
[49:10] Speaker 1: is labor that is winning, and winning by a mile.
