[2:46] Speaker 3: The Saint. Hello, how is my favorite shipboard acquaintance this evening?
[2:55] Speaker 3: Simonly you startle me?
[2:57] Speaker 4: You can hardly see you through the fog here on deck.
[2:59] Speaker 3: Yes, it is getting thicker, isn't it? But I suppose
[3:01] Speaker 3: it's to be expected. Last night nature went on a
[3:04] Speaker 3: binge of moonshine, and this is her foggy morning after
[3:08] Speaker 3: only it's evening. How can you tell through the fog?
[3:12] Speaker 3: You know you have a very pretty laugh, Barber. I'll
[3:14] Speaker 3: listen for it in all of your pictures from now.
[3:16] Speaker 5: I thank you, Simon, but I'm I'm not going to
[3:20] Speaker 5: make any more pictures. I'm retiring, retiring, at the peak
[3:24] Speaker 5: of your career. I'm just tired of pictures, that's all, Barbara.
[3:28] Speaker 5: You'll never be able to run away from it. What
[3:31] Speaker 5: do you mean I'm referring to whatever it is.
[3:33] Speaker 3: That frightens you. Why don't you tell me about it? Barbara,
[3:37] Speaker 3: there's nothing to tail on.
[3:39] Speaker 1: I'm tired.
[3:40] Speaker 3: I need to raise plese Simon. Don't make me talk
[3:42] Speaker 3: about it. Something that, Simon? Is that someone standing there? Yeah? No,
[3:46] Speaker 3: I don't see anyone. You are nervous, Simon.
[3:51] Speaker 5: Only I could confide in someone, if I could tell.
[3:53] Speaker 3: You what Perhaps I already know more than you think
[3:56] Speaker 3: I do. You're cold, suhere's your wrath.
[4:00] Speaker 5: It's over there, some place in one of those dickss.
[4:01] Speaker 3: I'll find it. I don't see it here, Barbara, you
[4:06] Speaker 3: shure you, Barbara, behind you, look out, Barbara, Barbara, man overboard,
[4:15] Speaker 3: Man overboard.
[4:16] Speaker 6: Maybe you'd like a swim to Saint Hell.
[4:35] Speaker 7: Oh oh, mister Templar, mister Templar.
[4:38] Speaker 3: Oh Hello. I suppose the usual question is where am I?
[4:46] Speaker 7: Sometimes they awaken from your type of custom made comma,
[4:49] Speaker 7: asking whoever.
[4:50] Speaker 3: I Evidently I wasn't hit quite that hard. I even
[4:54] Speaker 3: remember who you are. Doctor Norman. It is doctor Norman,
[4:57] Speaker 3: the celebrated psychiatrist, isn't it?
[4:59] Speaker 7: That is good template, But I'm afraid I must still
[5:02] Speaker 7: confine you here to the ship's infirmary for a while.
[5:05] Speaker 7: A possible concussion. You know.
[5:07] Speaker 3: They tell me what makes a famous neurologist like you
[5:10] Speaker 3: poses a mere ship's doctor.
[5:13] Speaker 7: I'm really not posing, Patridge, the ship's physician is ill.
[5:17] Speaker 7: I was within earshot when I heard the familiar call,
[5:20] Speaker 7: is there a doctor in the house? And no, Simon,
[5:23] Speaker 7: don't try to get up. I have a flask here
[5:26] Speaker 7: if a drink will make you happy.
[5:27] Speaker 3: Oh not right now, thank you. So I recall I
[5:30] Speaker 3: have some unfinished business to attend.
[5:33] Speaker 7: Yes, they couldn't find her any folk. She's gone. Yes,
[5:38] Speaker 7: it was a horrible accident.
[5:40] Speaker 3: Horrible, yes, accident.
[5:42] Speaker 7: Now you mean to say she didn't fall over book,
[5:45] Speaker 7: she was murdered. Murdered, but true, I think I know.
[5:50] Speaker 7: Oh my head, it feels like the Aberdeen proving grass.
[5:54] Speaker 7: I will mix you a sedative. You know you're not
[5:56] Speaker 7: looking very well.
[5:57] Speaker 3: I always look like this when I'm angry. I'm the
[6:00] Speaker 3: one cure.
[6:01] Speaker 6: Yes, I know.
[6:02] Speaker 7: The lady with these scales known as Madame justice. You know, timply,
[6:06] Speaker 7: I've been curious about what makes a man like you.
[6:11] Speaker 3: I'll tell you every eight days or so, someone winds
[6:14] Speaker 3: me up. Right now, I'm wound up, tight, tight with fury.
[6:19] Speaker 7: Well, it's a psychiatrist. I would advise you to unwind it.
[6:26] Speaker 3: Here we are doing this.
[6:28] Speaker 7: It will put you to sleep after a while.
[6:30] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[6:31] Speaker 7: You say you think you know who killed Barbara Simon.
[6:34] Speaker 3: I was wrong, I do know.
[6:37] Speaker 7: Well, I think you ought to talk to me. Unwind yourself.
[6:40] Speaker 3: You think I need psychiatry, doctor, well, I think you're
[6:42] Speaker 3: too taught at the moment.
[6:44] Speaker 7: That plus you're concussion it might be dangerous.
[6:47] Speaker 3: Very well, doctor Alan Wined, I'll tell you the entire story.
[6:51] Speaker 7: If you don't mind, Simon here this will help derism.
[6:55] Speaker 7: It's a metronome. Psychiatrists often use them.
[6:58] Speaker 3: But if you run no, I don't mind. I'd never
[7:03] Speaker 3: met Barbara Brooks, although I'd doubt if there's a human
[7:06] Speaker 3: being alive who hasn't heard of her or seen her
[7:09] Speaker 3: in the movies. I first saw the day we boarded ship.
[7:13] Speaker 3: There was something in her expression, in the way she
[7:16] Speaker 3: walked and talked and smiled that immediately told me here
[7:20] Speaker 3: was someone I should know. Her entire demeanor was an
[7:24] Speaker 3: attitude of invitation that a man sphere doctor. She was
[7:28] Speaker 3: a frightened lady. She wanted someone near her. I walked
[7:33] Speaker 3: over to her there on deck and immediately made myself useful.
[7:37] Speaker 3: Her steward evidently had become busy elsewhere, so I kipped
[7:40] Speaker 3: my hat and said, somewhat idiotically, get your program here, lady.
[7:45] Speaker 3: You can't tell the staterooms without the numbers. I beg
[7:47] Speaker 3: you if your steward seems to have deserted you. I'd
[7:50] Speaker 3: sailed a scow before, or so. If it's the direction
[7:52] Speaker 3: to your stateroom you're looking for, I would like it.
[7:55] Speaker 3: I would do a number.
[7:57] Speaker 7: Please say thank you very much much.
[8:00] Speaker 3: It's this way. My My name's Temper Simon, for sure.
[8:05] Speaker 3: And of course you're Barbara Brooks. You know we passed
[8:10] Speaker 3: the bar on route to eight thirty six main deck.
[8:12] Speaker 3: There's an old passion with a new acquaintance. Sound in writing.
[8:16] Speaker 3: It will a little later after you see here on
[8:19] Speaker 3: the ship. Oh, there are several Oh, I see he's
[8:25] Speaker 3: gone in the corner. Yeah, I think I saw the man.
[8:27] Speaker 3: You meant, a certain north centered gentleman named Raider. I
[8:32] Speaker 3: don't know that name. No, surely you've heard of Phil Raider.
[8:35] Speaker 3: He's just as big a star in his line of
[8:37] Speaker 3: work as you are in yours. What is his line
[8:40] Speaker 3: of work? Well, he's he's an exterminator of human beings.
[8:44] Speaker 8: Mister.
[8:45] Speaker 3: I'm afraid that was obvious from the moment I first
[8:47] Speaker 3: saw you. Why don't you tell me about it? No,
[8:49] Speaker 3: I can't know. I'd be cured. That's as good a
[8:51] Speaker 3: reason as any for not telling me. But I must
[8:53] Speaker 3: warn you I have a peculiar talent for finding things
[8:56] Speaker 3: out for myself.
[8:57] Speaker 4: No, you mustn't do anything, please please.
[9:13] Speaker 9: Hello Rader, Oh, miss Saint m world's getting smaller, Yes.
[9:19] Speaker 3: Yes, but I understand you're doing your share to see
[9:21] Speaker 3: that it doesn't get overcrowded. Traveling for your health again
[9:25] Speaker 3: or just traveling, just traveling, Raider. Why does the mere
[9:29] Speaker 3: glimpse of you rounding a corner start a lady's teeth
[9:32] Speaker 3: to chattering lady?
[9:33] Speaker 10: I don't know any ladies, obviously. Maybe she thought I
[9:36] Speaker 10: was someone else. Maybe, And if you're.
[9:38] Speaker 3: Of a mind to annoy her, you'll wish you were.
[9:41] Speaker 10: Look saint, Just soak up sunshine on this cruise. Don't
[9:45] Speaker 10: go poking in any dark places might be bad for you.
[9:48] Speaker 3: Oh what sort of bad rader look.
[9:50] Speaker 10: Big shot? Just so there's no misunderstanding, you butt in
[9:54] Speaker 10: where you ain't welcome on this cruise.
[9:55] Speaker 3: And yes, and I'll kill you.
[10:06] Speaker 7: How is your head, sir?
[10:07] Speaker 3: And it feels as if a regimental crap game was
[10:10] Speaker 3: going on inside of it with jet propelled dice.
[10:13] Speaker 7: You haven't drunk your sedative yet?
[10:15] Speaker 3: Here? Oh? Thank you? Shall I go on taking the
[10:17] Speaker 3: load off of my concussion?
[10:19] Speaker 7: Yes, by all means? I think I was present at
[10:23] Speaker 7: the Mexico.
[10:23] Speaker 3: Yes, doctor you were. It was the night of that
[10:26] Speaker 3: ridiculous costume ball ships captains is so fond of arrangement,
[10:30] Speaker 3: he is.
[10:31] Speaker 7: I remember we were at the bar together.
[10:33] Speaker 3: You were a pirate, I recall it years and you
[10:36] Speaker 3: were a clown. The ball was loaded with clowns, some
[10:40] Speaker 3: of them not even aware of their clownishness. But it
[10:43] Speaker 3: was gay and sprightly, and the music was good. I
[10:47] Speaker 3: remember our conversation. Doctor. You suddenly appeared at my elbow
[10:51] Speaker 3: and said, in the most chivery, sinister manner, you.
[10:56] Speaker 7: Know, templar, I have a confession to make to you. Well,
[10:59] Speaker 7: I'm always interested in confessions. Doctor, I've had a schoolboy
[11:02] Speaker 7: crush on the beautiful Barbara ever since I saw her
[11:05] Speaker 7: and pictures first. Tell me what does one do about it?
[11:09] Speaker 3: Well, I know exactly what I would do if I
[11:11] Speaker 3: were you, doctor, Yes, I'd consult the nearest psychiatryst at.
[11:16] Speaker 7: The prices we judge. I think I was hoping you'd
[11:20] Speaker 7: cut a fellow in on your acquaintanceship, Templar. But if
[11:23] Speaker 7: you won't introduce me, won't you at least show me
[11:26] Speaker 7: which masks she's hiding under? I think I might be
[11:30] Speaker 7: able to make my own introduction.
[11:31] Speaker 3: Oh very well, doctor, look for a self like figure
[11:34] Speaker 3: in a blue and yellow hollo can costume.
[11:37] Speaker 7: Thank you, Templar, Thank you, And if you should ever
[11:40] Speaker 7: need a good psychiatry prices you charge, I will be seen.
[11:46] Speaker 4: Don't turn around, mister Templer. I have a pistol and
[11:49] Speaker 4: a smaller back.
[11:50] Speaker 3: Now, really is that any way to enjoy a wall
[11:53] Speaker 3: that insane? I'm only is except for the small of
[11:57] Speaker 3: my back, which feels abnormally large at the moment.
[12:00] Speaker 4: Certain arrangements of a made saint. It means a big
[12:03] Speaker 4: hit of lettuce if they go through all the signs
[12:06] Speaker 4: say keep up, say that you do, now, don't turnroun.
[12:10] Speaker 4: It's custom so pretty. I'd hate to have to put
[12:12] Speaker 4: a hold from my pocket.
[12:14] Speaker 3: Well, it's probably just a coincidence, but I've acquired the
[12:16] Speaker 3: same regard for the small of my back.
[12:18] Speaker 4: Keep regarding it that I was saying, don't let your
[12:21] Speaker 4: nose wonder where it doesn't belong, and you might begin
[12:24] Speaker 4: by forgetting. You saw certain people aboard this boat.
[12:28] Speaker 3: See just tell me how you're going to swing it,
[12:30] Speaker 3: missus Miller, or don't be surprised, I'd recognize the notorious
[12:34] Speaker 3: little Miller's voice on a party line. How are you
[12:37] Speaker 3: going to take him? Little U palm days or perhaps
[12:39] Speaker 3: a mark deck.
[12:40] Speaker 4: This rod has a hair trigger, Saint, just a touch
[12:43] Speaker 4: on your little little's.
[12:48] Speaker 5: Li li, you're lucky saying he'd.
[12:52] Speaker 3: A shot, Give your here, give your he go, crowd,
[12:56] Speaker 3: crowd or all you want to. She won't mind now, yes,
[13:00] Speaker 3: say still let her in the back. Leaves very little doubt.
[13:03] Speaker 7: She's dead, you know, Simon, I would never have played
[13:13] Speaker 7: say late missus Miller for a professional card shop. She
[13:16] Speaker 7: who was anything but the time.
[13:18] Speaker 3: Professional card shops are always anything but the type. Doctor.
[13:21] Speaker 7: Yeah, and you think I actually played bridge with her
[13:25] Speaker 7: myself with a crook and a hot headed one had said.
[13:28] Speaker 3: Well, as my old grandmother used to say, doctor, beware
[13:31] Speaker 3: of lady thieves with red hair.
[13:34] Speaker 7: I guess the lady's read hair accounted for the lack
[13:37] Speaker 7: of insulation in her temperament. Oh how does your head feel? Simon?
[13:42] Speaker 3: Better? Doctor, much better.
[13:44] Speaker 7: You still haven't touched your sedative, you.
[13:45] Speaker 3: Know, haven't.
[13:46] Speaker 7: I I think you'll find that it helps Simon.
[13:49] Speaker 3: Heah, oh, thank you. Well, you know, shortly after the
[13:51] Speaker 3: murder of missus Miller, doctor I called on her bereaved
[13:55] Speaker 3: husband and a partner in crime. A very interesting visitor.
[13:59] Speaker 7: Was you have the neck for making all of your
[14:01] Speaker 7: visits into distinct salmon tad?
[14:04] Speaker 3: And I found Miller in the bar, quenching his sorrow
[14:07] Speaker 3: with the merry waters of the river are forgetful.
[14:12] Speaker 6: Fifty grand and the palm of our hands, and beep,
[14:15] Speaker 6: no more limb, no more lil, No more sucker, no
[14:18] Speaker 6: more sucker, Beep, no more fifty grand.
[14:20] Speaker 3: I see you valued your wife highly. Who was the sucker? Miller?
[14:25] Speaker 3: Ha ha, you're funny. Tell me what's phil raider cruising
[14:30] Speaker 3: for Miller? And don't tell me it's a coincidence he's
[14:33] Speaker 3: on board the same ship.
[14:34] Speaker 6: You get funnier and funnier. Why is Barbara Brooks so
[14:38] Speaker 6: afraid of Raider? You ain't even warm, Saint. You're a
[14:41] Speaker 6: mile wide of the target.
[14:43] Speaker 3: And I'd better use a different kind of ammunition. Yeah,
[14:47] Speaker 3: like what like a little murder performed on an unwilling
[14:51] Speaker 3: sucker in Reno. Well you know about that. You won't
[14:55] Speaker 3: like going back to Reno, Miller. It gets hot in
[14:58] Speaker 3: the summer time, especially in the penitential.
[15:00] Speaker 6: Raider was with liting me on this deal. He I
[15:06] Speaker 6: wasn't gonna say anything, feel honest.
[15:07] Speaker 10: I was just I always knew someday you'd choken their yellow.
[15:12] Speaker 10: I thought you and I had a little understanding.
[15:14] Speaker 3: Saint. You've got a reputation for wrong thoughts, Rader.
[15:17] Speaker 9: Yeah, but right or wrong.
[15:19] Speaker 10: I backed my ideas up to the hill.
[15:21] Speaker 3: Treat that frog. Stick around the cover, Raider, or I
[15:24] Speaker 3: might take it away from you and the Dutch courage
[15:26] Speaker 3: that rides with it too.
[15:28] Speaker 9: I'll keep it hidden for now.
[15:30] Speaker 10: You just be careful of the places where the lights
[15:32] Speaker 10: don't shine. Saint cold On Miller, I want to talk with.
[15:35] Speaker 6: You I'll be out in a little while, Phil.
[15:38] Speaker 3: I want to drink wrong enough. Come on, you'd better go, Miller.
[15:43] Speaker 3: And if you can't talk your way out of it,
[15:45] Speaker 3: my regards to the fishes.
[15:55] Speaker 7: And I recall it well. Shortly after, mister Leder passed
[15:58] Speaker 7: on his second warnings that you and I met for
[16:00] Speaker 7: the first time professional.
[16:01] Speaker 3: Yes, doctor, the very next night, and I am.
[16:04] Speaker 7: Very surprised at you. He'd want you to stay away
[16:07] Speaker 7: from dark plate.
[16:08] Speaker 3: Yes doctor, so he had. But I'm perverse by nature
[16:11] Speaker 3: and I like to poke around. I was strolling around
[16:13] Speaker 3: the deck with Barbara, getting moon burned and trying desperately
[16:18] Speaker 3: to get some more information.
[16:22] Speaker 4: So wonderful having you near, Simon.
[16:24] Speaker 3: I feel safe, say, I refuse to accept the compliment,
[16:29] Speaker 3: particularly on a moonlit night at sea.
[16:32] Speaker 4: I'm referring to danger, Simon, not romans.
[16:34] Speaker 3: They're often the very same thing. I'd like to join
[16:37] Speaker 3: the team, Barbara.
[16:39] Speaker 5: Why don't you be fighting me, because if I did,
[16:42] Speaker 5: we'd both be dead by morning.
[16:45] Speaker 3: I must going to ugod night, Simon.
[16:47] Speaker 6: Good night, turn around, Tepler.
[16:52] Speaker 3: I've got a I know gun pointed at the small
[16:56] Speaker 3: of my back.
[16:56] Speaker 6: That's it. Now keep away from Barbara.
[16:59] Speaker 3: Brooks, am I clear, clear enough? Anything else?
[17:03] Speaker 6: Yeah, just so it sinks in. Saint, take this along
[17:07] Speaker 6: the remember.
[17:18] Speaker 3: Once again you enter the picture, Doctor Norman. You found
[17:22] Speaker 3: me there lying on the deck, basking in moonlight and blood.
[17:28] Speaker 7: Go on, Simon, tell me the rest of it.
[17:30] Speaker 3: Well, after your neat job of vulcanizing me, thus saving
[17:34] Speaker 3: me a trip to the ship's doctor and innumerable words
[17:37] Speaker 3: of explanation, I hit upon a strategy, and my next
[17:41] Speaker 3: visit found me calling in the lions dead. Wow. I
[17:46] Speaker 3: tell you you're being made a Patsy raider. You're on the
[17:49] Speaker 3: verge of being demoted back to second class hoodlum.
[17:53] Speaker 10: I can take care of myself.
[17:55] Speaker 3: And I admit a minor sandbagging committed in your good
[17:58] Speaker 3: name doesn't amount too much. But what if the same
[18:01] Speaker 3: someone likes your name and designs to use it in
[18:05] Speaker 3: other ways?
[18:05] Speaker 10: What do you mean?
[18:06] Speaker 3: I mean murder? You're a lead pipe cinch to pay
[18:09] Speaker 3: for one of your own someday rader. But meanwhile, how
[18:12] Speaker 3: would you feel getting hung for somebody else's shenanigan. I'd
[18:15] Speaker 3: be annoyed, you sure would.
[18:17] Speaker 10: Look I'm not rigged up with no murder, Saint little
[18:19] Speaker 10: meant fifty grand us alive. That's what we figured the
[18:22] Speaker 10: sucker was good for.
[18:23] Speaker 3: It's a good enough reason for wanting Lil among the
[18:25] Speaker 3: present instead of the late Raider. To mean, what was
[18:28] Speaker 3: the angle? Blackmail?
[18:30] Speaker 5: Nah?
[18:30] Speaker 3: No, nothing so crude.
[18:31] Speaker 9: Saint.
[18:32] Speaker 10: I sponsored the party, spot him, finger them and oil them,
[18:35] Speaker 10: and the millers squeeze him through a deck of card.
[18:37] Speaker 10: Guy's a sucker for good looking dames and card game.
[18:40] Speaker 3: That's all that sounds very uncomplicated, easy picking.
[18:42] Speaker 10: Guy ain't had the coin long enough to be smart
[18:44] Speaker 10: about it.
[18:45] Speaker 3: Who's the guy he makes water heating the fat man
[18:48] Speaker 3: with the diamonds from pasaic. That's sorry. You should have dumbled.
[18:51] Speaker 9: Looks like you did.
[18:53] Speaker 10: I thought you were out for a bust up in
[18:55] Speaker 10: fifty g's a lot of money, Saint. I figured if
[18:57] Speaker 10: I could scare you'd be insurance. How about But Barbara Brooks.
[19:02] Speaker 3: Deal me out.
[19:03] Speaker 10: I'm not in on whatever the caper is there.
[19:05] Speaker 3: She saw you the day we sailed, and she got scared.
[19:08] Speaker 10: Maybe it's because I ain't exactly pretty. But if you
[19:10] Speaker 10: really want to know something to Saint, I'll tell you
[19:13] Speaker 10: I was propositioned on the stunt against said dame.
[19:15] Speaker 9: A few weeks before we sailed.
[19:17] Speaker 10: I turned it down.
[19:17] Speaker 9: The Big Dough tooal yeah, big Dough to bump her off.
[19:21] Speaker 10: Not for me, though, she's too prominent. Too much heat
[19:23] Speaker 10: on those jobs who made the offer. Rader, he wasn't
[19:26] Speaker 10: exactly interested in leaving his calling card, saying, just to
[19:29] Speaker 10: John Smith's far as I'm concerned.
[19:30] Speaker 3: But he had a description, didn't he? Everybody has a description?
[19:34] Speaker 10: Sure, sure, he was a medium sized guy with the
[19:37] Speaker 10: lights who turned them off.
[19:43] Speaker 7: Brown tie blue shirt, brown tie blue shirt.
[19:49] Speaker 3: Brown tie blue shirt. Not a very harmonious color scheme,
[19:53] Speaker 3: is it really? Thank you? Rader? At least your last
[20:02] Speaker 3: earthly utterance was in the direction of good thank.
[20:07] Speaker 8: You round thie blue shirts.
[20:20] Speaker 3: What does he mean, Simon, Well, it means that either
[20:22] Speaker 3: the man for whom I search isn't a very fastidious dresser,
[20:26] Speaker 3: doctor or else, or else, or else he's color blind.
[20:31] Speaker 3: Blue and brown just aren't worn together. Hell no, I'll
[20:36] Speaker 3: take that drink now, doctor.
[20:38] Speaker 7: I mixed for you your concussion later.
[20:41] Speaker 3: Doctor later.
[20:42] Speaker 7: Well, I can see that you're going to be a
[20:44] Speaker 7: very difficult patient. I hope you don't mind drinking out
[20:48] Speaker 7: of another medicine.
[20:49] Speaker 3: Glass right now. I prefer a little more. Doctor, that's fine.
[20:56] Speaker 3: Has such a beautiful color, hasn't it? Doctor?
[20:58] Speaker 7: Hasn't it? Aren't you going to drink it?
[21:02] Speaker 8: Simon?
[21:03] Speaker 3: In a moment, doctor, when I finished my story, Oh.
[21:05] Speaker 7: Yes, of course his study Barbara's murder, wasn't it?
[21:09] Speaker 3: Yes? Barbara was next. But immediately before our last meeting
[21:13] Speaker 3: on deck and the fog, Doctor, I found out what
[21:16] Speaker 3: she was afraid of. You did, But how it was easy.
[21:19] Speaker 3: The steward had some keys, I had some money. The
[21:22] Speaker 3: steward has enough now for that chicken ranch he's always
[21:25] Speaker 3: dreamed of.
[21:26] Speaker 7: You broke into Barbara's states room.
[21:28] Speaker 3: Yes, well what did you find, Simon? Largely perfume stockings
[21:32] Speaker 3: and some letters, doctor, peculiar letters f yes, yes, no,
[21:40] Speaker 3: from the same fan, A fan she was once engaged
[21:43] Speaker 3: to marry, doctor, A fan who loved her very much
[21:47] Speaker 3: and hated her in equal proportions, who was so torn
[21:50] Speaker 3: between love and hate he had to kill her.
[21:54] Speaker 7: It's got, sophic.
[21:55] Speaker 3: You should know what do you mean? Will you know
[21:58] Speaker 3: the classifications? You're the doctor?
[22:00] Speaker 7: Oh drink Simon?
[22:04] Speaker 3: A color blind schizophrenic. I don't believe I've ever met
[22:07] Speaker 3: one before, Doctor Norman. So color blind. He mistook the
[22:10] Speaker 3: green and orange holloqun castume worn by Lil Miller for
[22:13] Speaker 3: the blue and yellow one worn by Barbara. That is
[22:16] Speaker 3: very interesting, poor little if she'd come to the ball
[22:19] Speaker 3: as anything but a harlequin, she'd have lived to take
[22:21] Speaker 3: in fifty thousand dollars. You know you were wrong about
[22:24] Speaker 3: Lil's hair, Doctor, It wasn't red, it was brown.
[22:28] Speaker 7: You said it was read.
[22:30] Speaker 3: I wanted to see if you'd agreed. You said yes,
[22:32] Speaker 3: of course, handed to me, would you, doctor, stare alongside
[22:35] Speaker 3: the drink. No, no, don't try to tell them apart
[22:37] Speaker 3: by their aromas. Doctor, it's obvious that there are different colors.
[22:42] Speaker 3: I'll catch you tell.
[22:44] Speaker 7: You find it saint like very much for you to
[22:48] Speaker 7: drink it.
[22:48] Speaker 3: My doctor, What a pretty purple gun you're wearing? Or
[22:53] Speaker 3: is it pink?
[22:54] Speaker 7: Drink up, Tippler, You hardly feel it. It's just a
[22:57] Speaker 7: dash of Prussic.
[22:58] Speaker 3: Acid, doctor Norman. When you give sedative, you go overboard
[23:01] Speaker 3: drink it, Timpler, Well you're the doctor. A toast to you,
[23:05] Speaker 3: Doctor Norman. To your green shirt, blue tie, and gray handkerchief,
[23:11] Speaker 3: none of which match.
[23:13] Speaker 7: Here's how my eyes you threw it in my eyes.
[23:19] Speaker 3: It was a question of your eyes or my stomach. Doctor.
[23:22] Speaker 3: My eyes I blind. You'll get over it, doctor, which
[23:25] Speaker 3: is more than can be said of me if one
[23:27] Speaker 3: of those wild shots of yours should hit me. I
[23:30] Speaker 3: know I shouldn't practice medicine without a license, doctor, any
[23:33] Speaker 3: more than you should. But here's a sedative from me
[23:37] Speaker 3: to you. It pleasant nightmares. Doctor Norman.
[23:56] Speaker 2: You have been listening to another adventure of the Saint,
[23:59] Speaker 2: the robin Hood of modern crime, and now here is
[24:01] Speaker 2: our star, Vincent Price.
[24:03] Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen. In a prejudice filled America, no one
[24:08] Speaker 3: would be secure in his job, his business, his church,
[24:12] Speaker 3: or his home. Yet racial and religious antagonisms are exploited
[24:16] Speaker 3: daily by quacks and adventurers, whose followers make up the irresponsible,
[24:21] Speaker 3: lunatic fringe of American life. Refuse to listen to or
[24:26] Speaker 3: spread rumors against any race or religion. Helped us stamp
[24:30] Speaker 3: out prejudice in our country. Let's judge our neighbors by
[24:34] Speaker 3: the character of their lives alone, and not on the
[24:37] Speaker 3: basis of their religion or origin. This is Vincent Price
[24:41] Speaker 3: inviting you to join us again next week at the
[24:44] Speaker 3: same time for another exciting Adventure of the Saint good
[24:47] Speaker 3: Night the Night.
[25:17] Speaker 2: Script of The Saint was written by Michael Kramoy. Our
[25:21] Speaker 2: cast included Betty lou Gerson, Gene Bates, Frank Gersteal, Bill Conrad,
[25:25] Speaker 2: and Bonney Phillips. The music was composed and conducted by
[25:28] Speaker 2: Harry Zimmerman. The Saint, based on characters created by Leslie Charteris,
[25:33] Speaker 2: is a James L. Saffier production and is directed by
[25:36] Speaker 2: Thomas A.
[25:37] Speaker 3: Mcavity.
[25:38] Speaker 2: Vincent Price is soon to be seen in Harry and
[25:40] Speaker 2: Popkins's production of Champagne for Caesar, co starring Ronald Coleman.
[25:46] Speaker 2: All you Saint fans will be glad to know that
[25:47] Speaker 2: the Saint comic books are unsale at all New Stands.
[25:51] Speaker 2: Your announcer, Merril Ross, this is the mutual well broadcasting system.
[26:19] Speaker 1: Welcome back. An enjoyable episode. And I really loved the
[26:26] Speaker 1: idea of this story being told and us learning that
[26:32] Speaker 1: it was actually being told to the killer at his
[26:36] Speaker 1: own designs on Simon, And of course you have to
[26:40] Speaker 1: love the interplay of two great actors, Vincent Price and
[26:45] Speaker 1: William Conrand. And there's something about Price where when he
[26:51] Speaker 1: gets a lot of seeds with the same performer. I
[26:58] Speaker 1: think of the suspense episode of the Hands of Mister Outermon,
[27:02] Speaker 1: which he played with Claude Rains that you really can
[27:07] Speaker 1: have just this great energy going on. Now, what are
[27:10] Speaker 1: the titles of this program that are listed typically on
[27:15] Speaker 1: the internet. Number one, the Schizophrenic Psychiatrists. I hope people
[27:23] Speaker 1: see the problem with that title. It gives away the
[27:28] Speaker 1: entire blot. So does the second most popular title that
[27:33] Speaker 1: you'll see on the Internet for this episode, The color
[27:37] Speaker 1: Blind Killer Furder on the Hot Seas is generic, but
[27:42] Speaker 1: it is a title that has been used for this episode,
[27:45] Speaker 1: and it's the only title that's been used for this
[27:48] Speaker 1: episode that doesn't ruin the ending. On the toddling issues,
[27:54] Speaker 1: you do have to say that the portrayal of color
[27:59] Speaker 1: blonde is ridiculously broad. Now, to be fair, a lot
[28:04] Speaker 1: of Golden Age media when it came to mysteries, portray
[28:09] Speaker 1: color blindness in this way. Without getting too much into
[28:14] Speaker 1: the weeds on this Generally, color blindness comes there across
[28:21] Speaker 1: a spectrum of a few different colors that you're not
[28:24] Speaker 1: able to distinguish. But even more than that is just
[28:28] Speaker 1: the fact that this guy is a prominent man in
[28:32] Speaker 1: a profession that relies on credibility, and the way Simon
[28:38] Speaker 1: describes it, he walks around dressing a way that others
[28:42] Speaker 1: have said, oh, look, there's a clown in that situation,
[28:46] Speaker 1: particularly in this era, if you had a disability that
[28:51] Speaker 1: was not immediately visible, you would want to camouflage that.
[28:56] Speaker 1: And prominent people who have colorblindness, they tend to work
[29:02] Speaker 1: things out with assistance or tailor's or someone else who
[29:07] Speaker 1: will go ahead and say, okay, well you need to
[29:11] Speaker 1: go ahead and plan these outfits. These shirts go with
[29:15] Speaker 1: this pair of pants, and this tie goes with this shirt,
[29:20] Speaker 1: and just you know, and put maybe little labels on
[29:23] Speaker 1: them that are written so he knows what to do.
[29:28] Speaker 1: And so where some of the subtlety might come in
[29:32] Speaker 1: is a situation where things are not carefully planned or
[29:38] Speaker 1: the person with color blindness doesn't have an opportunity to
[29:43] Speaker 1: follow their typical process. Listener comments and feedback now and
[29:48] Speaker 1: we go to YouTube where Joe comments regarding the episode.
[29:52] Speaker 1: Mister important, thanks Adam, you are the best. I love
[29:54] Speaker 1: your comments. I learned so much from you. Well, thanks
[29:57] Speaker 1: so much, appreciate your comment.

[30:42] Speaker 7: both of you shaking your head as a dead man
[30:44] Speaker 7: lying on the.
[30:45] Speaker 3: Cot just off Route sixty six.
[30:48] Speaker 7: There Clinton, Oh, possible way of identification?
[30:51] Speaker 3: Nothing.
[30:52] Speaker 11: I'll get Haynes with a fingerprint, jo and see if
[30:54] Speaker 11: his print'sallusating. I don't think even a mother would recognize
[30:59] Speaker 11: his face. Hey, where are you going?
[31:02] Speaker 3: Looking around?
[31:03] Speaker 4: And wish that ambulance will get here? What are you
[31:06] Speaker 4: looking for?
[31:07] Speaker 3: Something in the grass? Next? Yay, you know it's a coin.
[31:15] Speaker 3: Here's another one. Let me see there's the Mexican coins, right,
[31:19] Speaker 3: that's what they are. Well, what are they doing here? Rhino?
[31:22] Speaker 11: Well, we've got something anyhow. It's not much more than nothing,
[31:25] Speaker 11: but it's something.
