[3:44] Speaker 3: office on East Bomb Drive. Johnny Dollars, Well down, Johnny,
[3:51] Speaker 3: tell me all about thanks, Jake hell I sure here
[3:55] Speaker 3: on account of even Nickolat's insurance. That's right, potting meself
[3:59] Speaker 3: and straight line and the beneficiary to be named in
[4:02] Speaker 3: his will? Where the bottles? He read? Well, isn't that
[4:06] Speaker 3: rather unusual? Highly irregular? But the body's doing with me.
[4:10] Speaker 3: But that was what he wanted, and that's what he got,
[4:13] Speaker 3: and it's made us a lot of trouble out of
[4:16] Speaker 3: first all latter he died, nobody knew what he'd even
[4:19] Speaker 3: made out with. All right, that isn't for some little
[4:21] Speaker 3: characters moved to Lake Mohavey come along and showed us
[4:24] Speaker 3: why he didn't it. They're in that house that that
[4:26] Speaker 3: was Red Bird. That's right, Lloyd Bird called himself read.
[4:30] Speaker 3: I understand he was a very good friend, I think
[4:31] Speaker 3: a lot and real friend he ever had. I guess
[4:34] Speaker 3: they used to do some prospects in their cattle raising
[4:38] Speaker 3: or something together. And Red was named to get everything
[4:41] Speaker 3: Avery had except insurance. What was there besides the insurance?
[4:46] Speaker 3: We threw money? How much money? A couple of thousand
[4:51] Speaker 3: dollars they had in the bank? All lest come up
[4:53] Speaker 3: that will?
[4:53] Speaker 4: Ronnie Rule was.
[4:55] Speaker 3: Glad that's had him find it for us. And then
[4:57] Speaker 3: what was old crave a holographic will. But okay, but
[5:01] Speaker 3: when Webb claimed that leaving everything to him over the
[5:04] Speaker 3: wills head, Oh called me on the phone. Okay, yeah,
[5:07] Speaker 3: he's letting to do that. And he told me that
[5:09] Speaker 3: will has been tempered. That's what he told us, only
[5:12] Speaker 3: it was. And if you don't believe me, you're can
[5:15] Speaker 3: ask the police and the lawyer about it. And you
[5:18] Speaker 3: ask him Gimble, what do you mean by that? Well
[5:20] Speaker 3: they got so sad, that's with Red having moved grounds
[5:24] Speaker 3: because the day claim and well they told me, if
[5:27] Speaker 3: he didn't stop lying about it, balling him the one plan. Oh, Jake,
[5:31] Speaker 3: I know Red, I know, I'm well, I know that now,
[5:34] Speaker 3: and then he might stretch the truth a bit about
[5:36] Speaker 3: some of his experiences the place that he's been about
[5:39] Speaker 3: the big fish over there or hobby that he knows
[5:41] Speaker 3: what I first, Johnny, that's the very But there is
[5:44] Speaker 3: no malicious one in this whole party. And I refuse
[5:47] Speaker 3: to believe that he'd never lie or try to pull
[5:49] Speaker 3: a fast one for ten thou ten minutes. But Johnny,
[5:52] Speaker 3: who was supposed to get his insurance, I fell. He
[5:54] Speaker 3: name goes Marino. Well, this is Mary Turner. She was
[6:01] Speaker 3: kind of a nursing hospeacher for Avery the past few months.
[6:04] Speaker 3: And according to her, well she didn't know much about
[6:07] Speaker 3: this Marino, but she'd heard Avery once or twice. Said
[6:10] Speaker 3: he lived up in Vegas.
[6:12] Speaker 4: Of course he sawry his name.
[6:13] Speaker 3: In the world, and she witnessed it. Well, us witness
[6:15] Speaker 3: that will mold him. What does he say about it? Well,
[6:19] Speaker 3: tream about here about three months back one night in April,
[6:22] Speaker 3: got Duncan to run his car.
[6:23] Speaker 4: Off the highway down towards Needles.
[6:25] Speaker 3: When he's no help. Well, I find this missus Turner
[6:28] Speaker 3: house an and she swears that Verna was mentioned in
[6:32] Speaker 3: the will life from the beginning. I say, but you're
[6:34] Speaker 3: a friend, Red Bear, Okay, you've been fear first. I
[6:39] Speaker 3: think I better talk to Red over Lake Mohammi Resort,
[6:41] Speaker 3: get myself a room for a line. Ask me, Gunny,
[6:44] Speaker 3: you're just wasting your time and your money. Oh my money.
[6:49] Speaker 3: I'm on an insurance case, remember, so I'm on expensive college. Well, sure,
[6:54] Speaker 3: with your comedy putting the bell. It was after Dame
[7:05] Speaker 3: when I reached the Lake Mohoti Resort, and yeah, I
[7:08] Speaker 3: was waiting for me, and it's comfortable motel ro. We
[7:11] Speaker 3: got right down the kitchen. And I tell you, Johnny,
[7:17] Speaker 3: when Avery showed me that will, there was never any
[7:20] Speaker 3: such a name as Louis Marino on it. And I
[7:23] Speaker 3: was a couple of months ago on his birthday eleven.
[7:27] Speaker 3: I'd taken him a couple of nice steaks to celebrate. Now,
[7:31] Speaker 3: what was this about your being threaten threatened? Well, that's
[7:35] Speaker 3: what you're implied to me over the phone. Well, now,
[7:39] Speaker 3: were You're just stretching things a bit to make sure
[7:42] Speaker 3: i'd come out here, now, Johnny, Yeah, I should have
[7:45] Speaker 3: known it or something like that. No, Oh, that is well,
[7:50] Speaker 3: if you could have seen Reno's face when I told
[7:52] Speaker 3: that lawyer the surgey that somebody meddled with Avery's widow,
[7:57] Speaker 3: and when I said I was going to stand on
[7:58] Speaker 3: you read, je reprobate, you're in about as much danger now.
[8:03] Speaker 3: Who would be out there practicing with a gun this time?
[8:06] Speaker 3: And Tom doubs the light? She will Johnny, that Nick
[8:12] Speaker 3: my shirt out there practicing. H those bullets were meant
[8:17] Speaker 3: for you? Maybe maybe you, Johnny and the will and
[8:26] Speaker 3: the way met her, I thought. Red Parrester the Lake
[8:35] Speaker 3: mohobby Resort, was spinning another one of his yarns. When
[8:37] Speaker 3: he told me he was being threatened by the beneficiary
[8:39] Speaker 3: of the insurance. He thought that he was incited to it,
[8:42] Speaker 3: that is until a couple of gunshots crashed in through
[8:44] Speaker 3: the window of his hotel rooms. Yes, sir, Johnny, that
[8:48] Speaker 3: Louis Marin who knew that eyes known as sin for you,
[8:51] Speaker 3: So those shots could just as well have been meant
[8:53] Speaker 3: for you as for me and my read somebody said
[8:56] Speaker 3: stay long, leave the lights out bush to fate here, Johnny,
[9:05] Speaker 3: I read to see.
[9:06] Speaker 4: You were coming out here to help him?
[9:08] Speaker 3: Yeah, Buster, pull down the blinds for Han coming the
[9:10] Speaker 3: lights on it him?
[9:11] Speaker 4: Sure, Johnny, shot Johnny, and I heard this window break.
[9:15] Speaker 4: It came from a car up on the old Mine
[9:17] Speaker 4: Road above here, and the car took off went.
[9:20] Speaker 3: Over the Hill looks like Red was right read. How
[9:23] Speaker 3: much do you know about this Louis Marino? I tell you, Johnny,
[9:27] Speaker 3: I never even heard of him until I dug Abrie's
[9:29] Speaker 3: will out of the linen closet there at his house
[9:32] Speaker 3: and I saw Marino's name on it.
[9:34] Speaker 4: The only thing I know about him is that he's
[9:36] Speaker 4: been living up there in Vegas working in the garage
[9:39] Speaker 4: about three three and a half months now.
[9:42] Speaker 3: Then he must have arrived there shortly before Tim Hansen died,
[9:46] Speaker 3: which probably doesn't mean to thing.
[9:48] Speaker 2: Well.
[9:48] Speaker 3: Old Tim was the other witness to Abley's will, Johnny.
[9:52] Speaker 4: I knew old Tim pretty well. He was kind of
[9:55] Speaker 4: a general handyman over there and came and he used
[9:57] Speaker 4: to him, come over here and give us a hand. No, then,
[10:00] Speaker 4: so well do you hear about how he does?
[10:04] Speaker 3: Sure got drunk one night and ran his car off
[10:06] Speaker 3: the road.
[10:07] Speaker 4: I mean Tim never touched the stuff.
[10:10] Speaker 3: You're sure that, yes, sir? Well did you tell the
[10:13] Speaker 3: police and Carnor?
[10:14] Speaker 4: Yeah? And I guess they changed the report now that
[10:17] Speaker 4: it means anything.
[10:19] Speaker 3: Let me get the date straightening of dates, Johnny? Yeah,
[10:22] Speaker 3: how long was Abray Nicholas living over there? In came
[10:26] Speaker 3: it's January before that, California, working in the oural field.
[10:32] Speaker 3: But the doctor told him if he didn't get over
[10:35] Speaker 3: here in the desert, that his lungs wouldn't hold out
[10:37] Speaker 3: more than a couple of months. When did missus Turner
[10:40] Speaker 3: take over as his nurse and housekeeper?
[10:42] Speaker 5: Oh?
[10:43] Speaker 3: Mary started working for him in March when he took sick.
[10:48] Speaker 3: And that's when he made out his will too, and
[10:50] Speaker 3: Mary and Tim were the witnesses. That's also about the
[10:53] Speaker 3: time Louis Marino arrived in Vegas. Yeah, Johnny, let's try
[10:59] Speaker 3: to tie these things up. And do we have good reasons? Well,
[11:01] Speaker 3: you asked me, and it was back in April of
[11:03] Speaker 3: Tim Hanson's died, Yes, sir, And when did you see
[11:06] Speaker 3: the will? In May?
[11:08] Speaker 4: That was the time I almost got killed.
[11:12] Speaker 3: Oh, I'm coming over the past. That night on the
[11:15] Speaker 3: way back here, steering on my car gave out a minute.
[11:19] Speaker 3: Did anyone examine it after that happened? Well, you had
[11:23] Speaker 3: it fixed, if that's what you mean. No, that isn't
[11:25] Speaker 3: what I mean.
[11:26] Speaker 4: What are you thinking of, Johnny?
[11:27] Speaker 3: What's the red? Warner said?
[11:30] Speaker 4: Will now still with lawyer Robbins.
[11:32] Speaker 3: I guess yeah, sure, you say surrogate on it, and
[11:37] Speaker 3: it is right over his office on North pop God,
[11:40] Speaker 3: but I'm going over there to see him.
[11:46] Speaker 4: You ask me, miss a dollar, You're wasting your time.
[11:49] Speaker 4: But well, here you.
[11:50] Speaker 3: Are last will and testament of Avery Journals Nicolette, and
[11:55] Speaker 3: it's all in order, perfectly legal. I couldn't have dictated
[11:58] Speaker 3: a better letter myself. But the part that read Berrick
[12:01] Speaker 3: claims with addedu is when my best and oldest friend,
[12:04] Speaker 3: Loyd Barrett, I becouped the whole of my estate right here,
[12:07] Speaker 3: with the exception of the proceeds for my life insurance policy,
[12:11] Speaker 3: which I should go to Louis Marino of Las Vegas, Nevada.
[12:14] Speaker 4: You see it's in the same hand.
[12:17] Speaker 3: It looks to be it is. I even had mister
[12:20] Speaker 3: Brinkerhoff down at the bank check the handwriting. Even the
[12:23] Speaker 3: police built in a handwriting X. Went a minute, What
[12:26] Speaker 3: have you got a magnifying glasses to Robins? Oh yeah, sure,
[12:30] Speaker 3: right here. Nice now listen, mister darling, mister Robins. I
[12:40] Speaker 3: don't know whether this last part is in Avery Nicholett's
[12:43] Speaker 3: hand or it's just a clever forgery. But if this
[12:46] Speaker 3: has in tambiway and I betted this. I'm betting the
[12:50] Speaker 3: Louis Marino was put in after the will was signed
[12:52] Speaker 3: and witnessed. With the met case, the will wouldn't be Well.
[12:57] Speaker 3: What I mean is well that is, just read it
[13:00] Speaker 3: instead of trying to think of something to say. Mister Robbins,
[13:03] Speaker 3: I want you to call a meeting for me tomorrow
[13:05] Speaker 3: morning here in your office, a meeting. Where's Marina right
[13:08] Speaker 3: here in Kingan waiting kyman. Okay, I'll bring Red Barrett
[13:12] Speaker 3: over Fromake Mohabi myself, but you get hold of Marina
[13:14] Speaker 3: and this is Mary Turner. Well, now, mister Dollar, now
[13:17] Speaker 3: wait wait ten o'clock sharp, mister Robins, Okay, now, mister Dollar, hey,
[13:20] Speaker 3: I'll see you. Then, as it turned out, I didn't
[13:28] Speaker 3: go back and pick up read after all. Oh sure
[13:30] Speaker 3: I started, you even got a few miles out of
[13:33] Speaker 3: the highway, but I ended up by telephony and m
[13:36] Speaker 3: I taking into a motel right there in Kingla. As
[13:39] Speaker 3: for my redal Car, Well, I don't want to sound dramatic,
[13:42] Speaker 3: but what happened was this about two or three miles
[13:45] Speaker 3: out of town as I was driving along. Yeah, a
[13:49] Speaker 3: funny buzzing noise in the water, and it stayed were
[13:52] Speaker 3: of constant even when I slowed down. Well, I've heard
[13:56] Speaker 3: that noise before, so I decided to get as far
[13:58] Speaker 3: away from that car as I but fast, and I
[14:01] Speaker 3: duck behind a mound of gravel there at the side
[14:03] Speaker 3: of the road. Yeah, yeah, you know something. As the
[14:11] Speaker 3: sort of parks and pieces came standing down around me,
[14:15] Speaker 3: I was kind of glad that I had got out
[14:17] Speaker 3: of that car. I guess I had underestimated the King
[14:36] Speaker 3: in Arizona police when I called him after having my
[14:39] Speaker 3: car blown to bits, I learned from Sergeant Tommy Parker
[14:42] Speaker 3: that they too had been suspicious of Avery Nicholas will
[14:46] Speaker 3: and particularly of the main beneficiary, Louis Marino those thing
[14:50] Speaker 3: in the morning at police had quarters, Parker laid out
[14:52] Speaker 3: the facts formbing Well, it was the police up in
[14:55] Speaker 3: Vegas whose first meant to make on him.
[14:57] Speaker 4: Whyse because he'd got to throw a I have a
[15:00] Speaker 4: couple of.
[15:00] Speaker 3: Gambling joints up there when he tried to get a
[15:02] Speaker 3: job before he worked in the garage. Yeah, the man
[15:06] Speaker 3: who run those casinos a.
[15:07] Speaker 4: Pretty wise bunch.
[15:09] Speaker 3: Somebody recognized him as Louis the penman from chicagoan a forger,
[15:13] Speaker 3: that's right from one of the mobs, and just for luck,
[15:16] Speaker 3: I started checking on this young housekeeper, Nikola's Missus Turner.
[15:20] Speaker 3: Only her maiden name was Mary Polito. Young, did you
[15:24] Speaker 3: say in the late thirties, dark haired, dark complexion, real
[15:28] Speaker 3: good looking. Remember she had herself.
[15:31] Speaker 4: A flock of husbands.
[15:32] Speaker 3: Why haven't don't tell me? Yeah?
[15:35] Speaker 4: Dollar.
[15:35] Speaker 3: The last was an old man named Harry Turner died
[15:38] Speaker 3: about a year ago in a car accident. Car accident.
[15:42] Speaker 3: One before was another old man, Lawrence Flubright, another car
[15:46] Speaker 3: accident the same time. But her first husband's Louis Marine Hall. Right. Well,
[15:51] Speaker 3: let's see you've done yourself proud. Maybe so, but unless
[15:55] Speaker 3: we can somehow hold on to them, which is to say,
[15:58] Speaker 3: unless we can find something wrong with that. And don't
[16:01] Speaker 3: forget the handwriting expert. I called in and said, it's okay, Sergeant,
[16:05] Speaker 3: maybe an expert over look something. So Ron, it's about
[16:09] Speaker 3: time for the meeting at the lawyer's office. Why is
[16:18] Speaker 3: he enough? Sergeant Parker decided to stick around outside while.
[16:21] Speaker 4: I went into the meeting.
[16:23] Speaker 3: President. When mister Robins the lawyer read Barrett William Marina,
[16:27] Speaker 3: I couldn't blame rep but not liking his looks, and
[16:29] Speaker 3: missus Mary Turner at the moment Red had the floor
[16:34] Speaker 3: and I said, I tread to you, I don't want
[16:36] Speaker 3: the money. I'll give it to charity, but I don't
[16:39] Speaker 3: want to going to somebody that avery never even heard
[16:42] Speaker 3: of this. What do you mean he never heard of me,
[16:44] Speaker 3: you crazy old bump, because he would have told That's why,
[16:48] Speaker 3: because he told me everything. Yeah. Well, I'm sorry, mister Brett,
[16:51] Speaker 3: but I'm sure I heard mister Nicolott mentioned Louis Marino
[16:55] Speaker 3: many times. And when I saw his name in the will,
[16:58] Speaker 3: somebody threw it there. I saw it were crazy? All right,
[17:01] Speaker 3: enough focus. If you think you can break this, maybe
[17:04] Speaker 3: I can't, Louise, Miss gentleman. This is Johnny Dollar, missus Turner,
[17:11] Speaker 3: investigator for the insurance company. Well good, Not that it
[17:15] Speaker 3: makes any difference to me whether mister Marino gets that
[17:17] Speaker 3: insurance money. Well, I think it does with this Turner,
[17:20] Speaker 3: Missus Mary Palito, Marino, Furlbright Turner. You to him to
[17:27] Speaker 3: Reno somewhere along there, Johnny, No, mister Dollar, listen here. Dollar.
[17:31] Speaker 3: You know it may be tough proving that you caused
[17:34] Speaker 3: the death of the other witness of that will. Poor
[17:36] Speaker 3: old Tim answer, it was a car accident. He was drunk.
[17:38] Speaker 3: They found the bottle like the side. He never took
[17:40] Speaker 3: a drink in his life. I suspect that bottle, if
[17:44] Speaker 3: there was one, was planted in his car. But the
[17:46] Speaker 3: mechanical tamper with a steering who said, And come to
[17:50] Speaker 3: think of it, you are a mechanic, can't, child Louise? Sure,
[17:53] Speaker 3: sure I am, But that doesn't mean to be hard
[17:55] Speaker 3: to prove you planted that bomb in my car. Now listen, dollar,
[17:58] Speaker 3: I'm tampered with a steering on reads and tried to
[18:01] Speaker 3: kill him off after you realized he'd seen the original will.
[18:05] Speaker 3: But sooner or later, I think these kingly and police
[18:07] Speaker 3: will be able to pin these things on you. The
[18:10] Speaker 3: only thing I have to prove, though, is that this
[18:12] Speaker 3: will was tampered with, and I think I can. Yeah. Well,
[18:17] Speaker 3: I'm sorry, mister Dowler, but that will is exactly as
[18:20] Speaker 3: it was in the beginning, Miss Turner, did you actually
[18:23] Speaker 3: see it written? Answer the booth? Start him ride it
[18:27] Speaker 3: and mister Nicolette signed it. We signed it, and he
[18:31] Speaker 3: folded it up and put it in an envelope. Oh,
[18:34] Speaker 3: this paper wasn't folded before. No it was some news stationary.
[18:39] Speaker 3: It just got himself. You're sure, of course, quite rast
[18:43] Speaker 3: a thing like that. The paper has a coating on it,
[18:45] Speaker 3: like most papers of this kind, Some of that coating
[18:48] Speaker 3: cracks a little bit when it's folded. It takes a
[18:50] Speaker 3: magnifying glass to see it. Oh what so when something's
[18:54] Speaker 3: written on it after it's been folded, the ink wi
[18:57] Speaker 3: spread a bit over the tiny cracks made in the coating. Yeah,
[19:01] Speaker 3: like it has on this point. It was a good
[19:05] Speaker 3: insurance to Louis Marino after missus Turner found the will
[19:09] Speaker 3: of the linen closet. How do you know? I mean,
[19:11] Speaker 3: I know added after the other witness died, after Red
[19:15] Speaker 3: Barrett saw it. Take a look with you our magnifying glass,
[19:19] Speaker 3: mister Robins. Yes, I certainly show so, Louie, despite your
[19:23] Speaker 3: excellent copy of Avery Nicolette's handwriting, by writing yourself in
[19:26] Speaker 3: over the pold in that paper you pulled up. Boo boo.
[19:29] Speaker 3: You're right, mister daughter, absolutely right, Well Mary Louis, all right,
[19:35] Speaker 3: dolla if it is done. Yeah, Louis pulled a gun
[19:44] Speaker 3: and started to make even more of a pool of himself.
[19:48] Speaker 3: But then Sergeant Parker quietly left in and took over.
[19:51] Speaker 3: And you know something, I think they put in time
[19:54] Speaker 3: with Mary and LOUI in the clink for this forgery.
[19:56] Speaker 3: He'll probably pin those other things I mentioned on him.
[19:59] Speaker 3: He's a good man, expense a consul's women, the blown
[20:02] Speaker 3: up rental car thirty two hundred and eighty bucks. Yours truly,
[20:07] Speaker 3: Johnny Dollars or Starr to tell you about next week's story.
[20:23] Speaker 3: Next week A beautiful girl, a terrible storm, and a miracle.
[20:28] Speaker 3: Join us, won't you? Yours Truley Johnny Dollar, Yours truly,
[20:37] Speaker 3: Johnny Dollar. Darling Bob Bailey originates in Hollywood and is written,
[20:41] Speaker 3: produced and directed.
[20:42] Speaker 4: By Jack Johnstone.
[20:44] Speaker 3: Heard in our cast Brough Virginia, Greg Barney Phillips, Boris Lewis, Barley, Bear,
[20:48] Speaker 3: Jack Coyles, Billy Hallip, and Byron Kaine. He should have
[20:52] Speaker 3: joined us next week, same time and season, or another
[20:54] Speaker 3: exciting story of yours, truly, Johnny Dollar. This is Jim
[20:58] Speaker 3: Matthew speaking welcome back.
[21:02] Speaker 1: I will admit that Johnny confused me a little bit
[21:06] Speaker 1: in the solution when he said that for culprit had
[21:12] Speaker 1: written himself in over the fold. But if anyone else
[21:17] Speaker 1: was confused. The larger point was that this stationary it
[21:23] Speaker 1: had a surface coding, and so that when you folded it,
[21:27] Speaker 1: it caused cracks that became visible if you looked at
[21:31] Speaker 1: it under a magnifying glass. So where the forged writing was,
[21:37] Speaker 1: the ink had spread into these very slight cracks that
[21:42] Speaker 1: you could see when it was magnified, and the rest
[21:45] Speaker 1: of the writing, of course didn't, because that was written
[21:49] Speaker 1: before the paper was folded. It's kind of a tricky
[21:53] Speaker 1: situation for writing and performing. You're not only using a
[21:59] Speaker 1: visional clue, but a very subtle visual clue that requires magnification.
[22:08] Speaker 1: So that does stretch the audience's imagination a bit. And
[22:12] Speaker 1: this is another case where though who done it is
[22:17] Speaker 1: not really the most interesting question, it's more about how
[22:22] Speaker 1: and how Johnny will catch them. And while that might
[22:26] Speaker 1: be a bit of a departure from Johnny Doller, it's
[22:29] Speaker 1: certainly a valid form of mystery. You could find all
[22:34] Speaker 1: kinds of stories in say, Ellery Queen Mystery magazine with
[22:39] Speaker 1: this sort of setup. I also appreciated Johnny acknowledging the
[22:44] Speaker 1: limits of what he had to do. He suspected a lot,
[22:49] Speaker 1: and the story implies that our criminals had done a
[22:54] Speaker 1: lot worse, but it wasn't his job to prove that.
[22:58] Speaker 1: His job was to verify the veracity of the will
[23:05] Speaker 1: and left the rest of it to the local police.
[23:08] Speaker 1: And this is a point I do think that sometimes
[23:12] Speaker 1: we and I've probably done this, we can be a
[23:16] Speaker 1: little too harsh in our criticism of detective stories and
[23:22] Speaker 1: say things like, well, you would never convict someone on
[23:26] Speaker 1: this sort of evidence. And this argument's used, and it's
[23:30] Speaker 1: probably most unfairly leveled at private detectives, because that is
[23:37] Speaker 1: never their job. It's not their job to prove this
[23:41] Speaker 1: to anyone other than their clients. And this is an
[23:44] Speaker 1: important point. Even the great neural Wolf called it out
[23:49] Speaker 1: in at least one and may be more of his
[23:51] Speaker 1: stories where he identified the murderer with some evidence that
[23:57] Speaker 1: indicated guilt. But you could easily say this is not
[24:02] Speaker 1: going to win over a jury. But Wolf told the murderer, now,
[24:06] Speaker 1: I'm going to hand you over to Inspector Kramer, and
[24:10] Speaker 1: he has men who can investigate further and find all
[24:15] Speaker 1: the evidence it's going to take to convict you. Now,
[24:18] Speaker 1: unless you are watching Law and Order or some similar
[24:23] Speaker 1: program or book, it's not about the process of trial.
[24:28] Speaker 1: It's about the investigation and it identifine who done it.
[24:33] Speaker 1: Once that is done, the trial doesn't happen immediately unless
[24:39] Speaker 1: you were in that five part Johnny Dollar Cereal where
[24:43] Speaker 1: they sped things up. Now it's a bit more reasonable
[24:47] Speaker 1: if the protagonist is supposed to be a police officer,
[24:50] Speaker 1: because they've got to take the case that we heard
[24:55] Speaker 1: the district attorney. But even there, once the rest has
[25:01] Speaker 1: been made, that's not the end of search, traditional evidence
[25:05] Speaker 1: and discovery. Although there are some broadways. My Beat episodes
[25:10] Speaker 1: were like, there is no way that there's ever going
[25:14] Speaker 1: to be enough evidence to convict and real lot listener
[25:19] Speaker 1: comments and feedback now, and we have a comment regarding
[25:22] Speaker 1: the modeling Buddha matter over on YouTube and that the
[25:29] Speaker 1: story called to mind an incident that the commenter experienced.
[25:35] Speaker 1: Where my grandparents are from. It's a small southern town.
[25:39] Speaker 1: There was a housekeeper who worked for this old money
[25:42] Speaker 1: Southern family for almost forty years. She helped raise their kids,
[25:46] Speaker 1: and when the patriarch of the family died, his widow
[25:51] Speaker 1: was the only one who knew. They'd set up a
[25:53] Speaker 1: trust for the housekeeper. The kids that housekeeper helped to
[25:57] Speaker 1: raise they contested the will, being that it was a trust,
[26:00] Speaker 1: there was not much they could really do, And it's
[26:03] Speaker 1: important to say that there still can be wealthy individuals
[26:10] Speaker 1: who leave a portion of their fortune to those who
[26:17] Speaker 1: worked faithfully for them for many years. There was a
[26:22] Speaker 1: viral video for The Ramsey Show that went around a
[26:26] Speaker 1: while back where a woman was calling because her boss
[26:31] Speaker 1: had died and left her like a million and a
[26:34] Speaker 1: half dollars or something like that, But it's not as
[26:37] Speaker 1: commonly discussed or maybe expected, as it might have once been.
[26:43] Speaker 1: On an episode that's a little less recent. Regarding the
[26:47] Speaker 1: fair Weather Friend Matter, listener rights that Martian had to
[26:53] Speaker 1: be one of the weirdest I've ever heard. I'm sorry
[26:55] Speaker 1: you learn English by listening to commercials up well, thanks

[28:02] Speaker 5: for me and Frank just got a lovely snapshot for
[28:05] Speaker 5: my album. You gotta all right, any Frank right here
[28:08] Speaker 5: from the doorway with my trusty camera. Hey, what is
[28:12] Speaker 5: this evidence? Big boy? That's why I brought my boy
[28:15] Speaker 5: Frank and his camera along, waiting a long time for
[28:19] Speaker 5: my darling wife Kathy to step out of line.
[28:22] Speaker 3: Nick, you got this all wrong.
[28:24] Speaker 5: I just met him today, best Wigan. And if I
[28:27] Speaker 5: got it wrong, the camera hasn't. Frank's a perfect shot.
