[2:15] Speaker 3: know you like my doorsteps.
[2:17] Speaker 4: Oh, I think it's a very nice doorsteps.
[2:19] Speaker 3: Thanks? Are you collecting doorsteps or merely homesteading them?
[2:22] Speaker 4: Well, my idea was to wait until you got here
[2:24] Speaker 4: and then go in with you.
[2:26] Speaker 3: It's a very nice idea to match my doorstep. I
[2:29] Speaker 3: suppose will you come in there? M you have a
[2:42] Speaker 3: couple of nice ideas, That is that would you like
[2:45] Speaker 3: a drink?
[2:45] Speaker 4: We haven't been introduced yet. You're right, I'm Wendy Brown.
[2:48] Speaker 3: How do you do? And will you still have a death?
[2:51] Speaker 4: I don't think so?
[2:52] Speaker 3: Why not? Because I'm afraid? May I assure you there
[2:56] Speaker 3: is no fate worse than death.
[2:58] Speaker 4: But it's death that I'm afraid of.
[3:00] Speaker 3: We've postponed the drinks death in general wood.
[3:03] Speaker 4: Have you ever heard of a man named Harry Morgan?
[3:06] Speaker 3: Harry Morgan, I used to be a pirate by that name,
[3:08] Speaker 3: And hey, wait a moment. The contemporary Harry Morgan was
[3:12] Speaker 3: a crook on a very high plane.
[3:14] Speaker 4: That's the one. I mean, he's going to kill me.
[3:17] Speaker 3: But I thought, if I remember correctly, that he was
[3:19] Speaker 3: spending the rest of the twentieth century and Guatemala points down.
[3:22] Speaker 4: He's coming back to this country.
[3:24] Speaker 3: Oh, I see it was in the newspapers.
[3:25] Speaker 5: Oh, no, he he owes the government lots and lots
[3:28] Speaker 5: of money on income taxes. They've been after him for
[3:30] Speaker 5: a long time. He wouldn't dare come back openly.
[3:34] Speaker 4: Well, then he's been flown in secretly tomorrow night.
[3:38] Speaker 3: It's not been a terribly well kept secret.
[3:40] Speaker 4: But he is coming and I'm free.
[3:44] Speaker 3: Harry Morgan doesn't like you.
[3:46] Speaker 4: Well, he and I we used to be. That is,
[3:51] Speaker 4: we were sort of friends.
[3:53] Speaker 3: That sounds comfortable.
[3:54] Speaker 4: When he had leave the country suddenly, he asked me
[3:56] Speaker 4: to keep some things for him.
[3:57] Speaker 3: Things like what.
[4:00] Speaker 4: Things like jewelry, and you did. His idea was I
[4:02] Speaker 4: would sell the jewels and send the money on to.
[4:05] Speaker 3: Him, and you didn't sell the job.
[4:06] Speaker 4: Oh, I saw them all right, But but you didn't.
[4:08] Speaker 3: Send him the money.
[4:09] Speaker 4: Well, I felt that he he owed.
[4:11] Speaker 3: Me something and you collected. Now he's coming back. You're
[4:14] Speaker 3: afraid he'll try to collect her.
[4:16] Speaker 4: Yes, he'll want to hurt me, Simon, do you think
[4:21] Speaker 4: I should be hurt?
[4:22] Speaker 3: Whenever blondes with ideas get closer than the foot For me,
[4:26] Speaker 3: I stopped thinking it's a family failing. M oh well,
[4:32] Speaker 3: the family disowned me. Wendy. How did you find out
[4:35] Speaker 3: about Morgan's returning to this country.
[4:37] Speaker 4: Oh Sammy told me.
[4:38] Speaker 3: Sammy being he's.
[4:39] Speaker 5: A punch drug little prize fighter who spends all his
[4:42] Speaker 5: time hanging around bars. His favorites the Green Star on
[4:45] Speaker 5: Third Avenue.
[4:45] Speaker 3: Which might explain how he picked the news up. Where
[4:49] Speaker 3: is Morgan's plane landing?
[4:51] Speaker 4: Oh, Sammy didn't tell me that.
[4:52] Speaker 3: That's important for a number of reasons. I think maybe
[4:55] Speaker 3: I'll have to find Sammy and have a talk with him.
[4:58] Speaker 4: You're going to help me, Simon, Right, don't.
[5:00] Speaker 3: Believe in Blonde being killed. I think it's unconstitutional or something. Besides,
[5:06] Speaker 3: Harry Morgan is a bad man.
[5:07] Speaker 5: So, oh, Simon, I can't tell you how much I
[5:11] Speaker 5: appreciate this, how much i'd.
[5:14] Speaker 3: Tell me better not demonstrate. Not tonight. I've got to
[5:16] Speaker 3: find Sammy. You go home, lock your door and stay
[5:19] Speaker 3: behind it.
[5:20] Speaker 4: All right.
[5:21] Speaker 3: It's less than twenty four hours in which to find Sammy,
[5:24] Speaker 3: discover where Morgan's landing, and pacify him. If that's the word,
[5:28] Speaker 3: I mean, a good night, Wendy and wish me luck.
[5:31] Speaker 6: You'll need it, tacte facty.
[5:49] Speaker 7: Also saltheast coast. Your felluis He'll do the rest.
[5:52] Speaker 3: Hello, La, I'm glad to see you.
[5:56] Speaker 8: Likewise, I'm sure.
[5:57] Speaker 3: But it'll be too much trouble for you to drive
[5:59] Speaker 3: me and play. Where would you like to go? The
[6:02] Speaker 3: Green Star Bar on Third Avenue?
[6:04] Speaker 7: Okay, Hi, but uh, but that is that's a very
[6:10] Speaker 7: low type bar showed us on the floor, so fuel
[6:13] Speaker 7: a catch in the drink.
[6:14] Speaker 3: Well, I'm not going there to drink, Louis, are you
[6:15] Speaker 3: gonna date that? Perhaps? I don't know. The name is, Dammy.
[6:20] Speaker 3: Don't sound like a plunt relaxed, Louis. It's a business date, Dammy.
[6:24] Speaker 3: I've been told is a broken down prize fighter.
[6:27] Speaker 7: Oh, I know the guy you mean?
[6:28] Speaker 3: He's a lush with cauliflower. Sounds like an accurate description.
[6:32] Speaker 8: Also, you ain't very healthy.
[6:33] Speaker 3: I'm sure he's not. However, I hope he lives until
[6:36] Speaker 3: we get to him.
[6:46] Speaker 9: Hi, Joe, Yes, Sammy, shot uh okay, and I leave
[6:54] Speaker 9: the bottle sitting there.

[7:36] Speaker 8: the joint?
[7:37] Speaker 3: Okay?
[7:38] Speaker 10: Only I wouldn't go around shooting my mouth off it.

[8:40] Speaker 3: Louis after him. Come on, papabaut. Sammy might need some
[8:43] Speaker 3: hell I doubt it. Okay, y Oh, come on wid faster?

[8:55] Speaker 1: I don't think by accident.
[8:57] Speaker 3: Hey, hey, you're shooting at us. I ain't even sure
[9:00] Speaker 3: what will happen to my.
[9:00] Speaker 8: Wife and six kids.

[9:18] Speaker 3: Come on, we may as well go back and see
[9:22] Speaker 3: how Sammy is. If he chill is.
[9:38] Speaker 7: Ambulance ought to be here pretty soon, mister temper.
[9:40] Speaker 3: He don't look good though, now Sammy, h goodness? Seen

[10:18] Speaker 3: is this plane coming in? Sammy? Goodbye? Sammy? Bartender?
[10:46] Speaker 10: Another cop?
[10:47] Speaker 3: I beg your pardon, I said, another cop. You mind no,
[10:50] Speaker 3: except that I'm not a policeman. You're a bartender, then
[10:54] Speaker 3: must be. My name is Simon Temple. Temple, Yes, I
[11:00] Speaker 3: saw Sammy, gun to death outside this bar a couple
[11:03] Speaker 3: of hours ago. So I went out of the hospital
[11:06] Speaker 3: with him. They did a quick autosy. So Sammy had
[11:10] Speaker 3: a lot of money in his pocket. He only had
[11:13] Speaker 3: one or two drinks before leaving this bar. I already
[11:15] Speaker 3: told a kopsha. Yeah, they're terribly grateful.
[11:18] Speaker 10: He bought himself a bottle and.
[11:19] Speaker 3: Didn't finish it. That's why I came back here.
[11:22] Speaker 10: You want to finish it.
[11:23] Speaker 3: Bartender, I think you'd better listen closely. From what I've
[11:27] Speaker 3: heard of Sammy, nothing but the fear of death would
[11:29] Speaker 3: have driven him away from an unfinished bottle of liquor.
[11:32] Speaker 3: Why did he leave the bar?
[11:34] Speaker 10: Somebody called up asked for him who The guy didn't say.
[11:37] Speaker 3: He hung up on me, guy meaning man, I don't know.
[11:40] Speaker 10: It was a whisper. You can't tell much from a whisper.
[11:44] Speaker 3: Who'd be worried about Harry Morgan's returning to this country.
[11:47] Speaker 10: I don't know that neither, And I don't want to party.
[11:50] Speaker 3: We've already bought yourself apart. Bartender, you didn't tell the
[11:53] Speaker 3: police about that phone call.
[11:55] Speaker 10: They didn't ask me.
[11:56] Speaker 3: Yeah, they'd be unhappy about your coin. You wouldn't want
[11:59] Speaker 3: them to be unhappy. They could do things about your
[12:02] Speaker 3: license in their sorrow. Who'd be worried about Morgan.
[12:08] Speaker 10: And talking to myself, I ain't telling you nothing.
[12:12] Speaker 3: To go ahead, I'll eave drop.
[12:15] Speaker 10: Morgan had a girl named Wendy Brown.
[12:17] Speaker 3: Who never mind her hour and know about that.
[12:20] Speaker 2: Also, he left the nightclub in charge of a couple
[12:22] Speaker 2: of guys named Kerrigan and Mallow.
[12:24] Speaker 10: Thought's been going around the Kerrigan and Mollow infantry regular
[12:27] Speaker 10: ship in the gambling receipts to Morgan. I just finished
[12:31] Speaker 10: talking to myself.
[12:33] Speaker 3: Thank you, tender. You may have a drink on them
[12:36] Speaker 3: on you now, I'm Sammy. Oh go away, I'm in Alaska,
[12:51] Speaker 3: fast Catchewan, Alaska. And besides fast Catchawan isn't in.

[13:16] Speaker 3: last night.
[13:18] Speaker 4: About Sammy.
[13:19] Speaker 3: No I did better. I saw Sammy Simon, I'm frightened.
[13:24] Speaker 3: Stay where you are. I'll grab a cab, come over
[13:26] Speaker 3: and we'll be frightened together.
[13:27] Speaker 4: Oh but if you were here, I wouldn't be frightened.
[13:30] Speaker 3: Neither would If we're not going to be there, We're
[13:33] Speaker 3: going to visit a couple of gentlemen, and I probably
[13:36] Speaker 3: used the word I'll advisedly named Kerrigan and Marlow.

[14:06] Speaker 7: Fella takes a girl to one nightclub? Fine, this I understand,
[14:09] Speaker 7: but not in the middle of the day. A nightclub
[14:12] Speaker 7: is called a nightclub on.
[14:13] Speaker 3: A common LUI, yeah, we've a right.
[14:18] Speaker 7: I didn't recognize the joint in the daytime on a comic.
[14:21] Speaker 3: I know it's a nightclub, Wendy. I wait, you wait,
[14:30] Speaker 3: you've been here before, Wendy, Yes, with Harry.
[14:33] Speaker 4: He owns it.
[14:35] Speaker 3: Tell me is there any other entrance than this one? Yes,
[14:39] Speaker 3: let's go that way. Then, I like alis you meet
[14:43] Speaker 3: interesting cats, you'll be frightened. Hello, but what why Wendy?
[14:53] Speaker 6: Hello?
[14:54] Speaker 3: And I'm Simon. And where you're going with that nice suitcase?
[14:58] Speaker 8: And none of your business?
[14:59] Speaker 3: And perhaps not it could be Morgan's business though, or
[15:02] Speaker 3: the police department. Well, let's go back in. Look, I
[15:05] Speaker 3: got some dough in here. You can have, No, it
[15:08] Speaker 3: might have blood on it. I told you, I don't
[15:10] Speaker 3: breach into your pocket to tell me a little pittel.
[15:15] Speaker 3: I think I'll keep it to remember you. Bye, Come on,
[15:17] Speaker 3: you're going back in, all right? Yeah, the officer's down here,
[15:30] Speaker 3: I'll put the suitcase t have you? Where's your partner?
[15:35] Speaker 3: Marlow is run someplace? Where's Morgan Landing? Kerrigan?
[15:40] Speaker 8: I don't know Marlow got the dope from Sammy?
[15:42] Speaker 3: You're sure he did?
[15:43] Speaker 8: Might not ask me?
[15:46] Speaker 3: It would be Marlow? All right, I will ask you
[15:48] Speaker 3: where is Morgan Landing? Yes, Dammy told.
[15:52] Speaker 8: You then Bunk was dead before I got to him.
[15:55] Speaker 3: Oh, then you've been out looking for him last night?
[15:58] Speaker 3: Sure again, you know old Karragan didn't tell me. Doesn't
[16:02] Speaker 3: have to now, doesn't I think maybe you want to
[16:05] Speaker 3: take a walk? Oh no, my feet more than that's
[16:09] Speaker 3: gonna sorry. I have a gun too, true it happens
[16:13] Speaker 3: to be Kerrigan's. But then I did leave in his
[16:16] Speaker 3: bothcase ocase.
[16:19] Speaker 1: Just some clue.
[16:21] Speaker 8: Open her up now.
[16:22] Speaker 3: As a matter of.
[16:27] Speaker 7: The way, that light.
[16:33] Speaker 4: Silent. Men don't leave me.
[16:42] Speaker 3: I think we're alone night which was over this way?
[16:48] Speaker 4: Shun and look.

[16:55] Speaker 3: very dead. Mister Marlow.
[16:59] Speaker 4: Kan got it in the dry.
[17:04] Speaker 8: Said that I'll be.
[17:05] Speaker 4: Funny, did I?
[17:06] Speaker 3: I don't forget Wendy Kerrigan wasn't the only one here
[17:09] Speaker 3: in this room with Marlow. I got to call the police,
[17:13] Speaker 3: and then then we go back to our cab. Louie
[17:17] Speaker 3: must be doing a lot of picking outside.
[17:31] Speaker 7: Oh, son of my fore hat.
[17:33] Speaker 3: That's just another couple of steps. Here we are, Wendy, Well, Lloyd,
[17:38] Speaker 3: did you miss it? What else? Welcome home? Well? I
[17:44] Speaker 3: wish I knew who made with the with the fire crackers.
[17:49] Speaker 3: That happens to be the problem, Louis.
[17:51] Speaker 7: I don't want to hear about it, because if those
[17:52] Speaker 7: were firecrackers, I'm driving a truck.
[17:55] Speaker 3: What's wrong with driving a truck? Who said something was wrong?
[17:58] Speaker 3: Truck drivers happened to be among them courteous drivers on
[18:01] Speaker 3: the road. Well, look, it was the Temple. I got nothing.
[18:03] Speaker 3: They're always there to help a motorist in trouble. B
[18:06] Speaker 3: the Temple not already with the truck drivers. I know
[18:08] Speaker 3: they are wonderful class characters.
[18:10] Speaker 7: All of them got PhDs. What happened back there in
[18:13] Speaker 7: the club.
[18:14] Speaker 3: A man got shot very dead because another man carrying
[18:16] Speaker 3: a night suitcase filled with money not belonging to him
[18:19] Speaker 3: didn't want to open the suitcase and let the other
[18:21] Speaker 3: man see it. Ask a silly question, getting.
[18:25] Speaker 4: Late terby late Harry Morgan is on his way.
[18:29] Speaker 3: I want to stop worrying about Morgan. Maybe the whole
[18:31] Speaker 3: thing was just a rumor. It was not what I said.
[18:34] Speaker 7: It was not a rumor about Morgan coming back.
[18:37] Speaker 3: Oh fur them all. What's been bothering you? Was where
[18:40] Speaker 3: his plane is going to be? Posit him? No? Yes,
[18:43] Speaker 3: so ask me Louis, I will probably assassinate. Then a
[18:47] Speaker 3: joke asked me, all right, where is Morgan's plane landing?
[18:51] Speaker 7: A private landing field up at boone Chester. I want
[18:54] Speaker 7: to know what time it's landing.
[18:56] Speaker 3: I don't believe any of it, but what time is
[18:59] Speaker 3: it landing?
[19:00] Speaker 8: Midnight to night?
[19:01] Speaker 3: How I hate myself in the morning. But tonight I've
[19:03] Speaker 3: got to know, Louis, how did you find out? I
[19:06] Speaker 3: listened to the radio.
[19:20] Speaker 4: What time is it?
[19:22] Speaker 3: Ten? How much longer the Boonchester lewis hour and a half?
[19:26] Speaker 3: Maybe we should be in time, Louis repeat, huh the
[19:31] Speaker 3: broadcast you listen to?
[19:32] Speaker 7: Oh yeah, sure, the man said. Morgan, who has been
[19:36] Speaker 7: spending the last couple of years in Guatemala, is returning
[19:39] Speaker 7: via private plane for the United States.
[19:42] Speaker 4: Sammy was right.
[19:42] Speaker 7: We questioned by correspondence about his wandering for income tax invasion.
[19:46] Speaker 7: Mister Morgan replied he's been in communication with the United
[19:49] Speaker 7: States Treasury Department. He's arranged to meet his obligations to them.
[19:52] Speaker 3: Sammy was right. But in that case, the Morgan's.
[19:55] Speaker 8: Plane is doing the land at boon Chester.
[19:56] Speaker 7: Rap Whatt Midnight to Night A Bullton from a woman's
[19:59] Speaker 7: college the Midwest states that from now on, all women off,
[20:03] Speaker 7: all women are what Lowie, how do I know? That's
[20:06] Speaker 7: where I turned off the radio because people started shooting
[20:08] Speaker 7: guns in the nightclubs.
[20:09] Speaker 4: Simon, I don't understand if Harry had told reporters you're
[20:13] Speaker 4: just coming back to this country. If it was even
[20:15] Speaker 4: on the radio. Why did Samy make such a big
[20:18] Speaker 4: secret of it?
[20:19] Speaker 3: And he did have the news earlier than anyone else did, but.
[20:22] Speaker 4: Not earlier enough to make any difference to.
[20:25] Speaker 3: Him except Sammy. To him, it meant the difference between
[20:28] Speaker 3: Its corny, but it's true, between life and death. We're
[20:41] Speaker 3: getting close. The time is, yeah, a few minutes before twelve, Simon,
[20:47] Speaker 3: it is, Wendy.
[20:49] Speaker 4: Well, why do we have to meet more than when
[20:51] Speaker 4: he lands.
[20:52] Speaker 3: He has to know that he can't plan.
[20:54] Speaker 4: To murder you, but maybe he'll try at the airport.
[20:57] Speaker 3: Now, that's the only place you can be absolutely be
[21:00] Speaker 3: sure he'll try nothing. What you mean he's coming back
[21:02] Speaker 3: to put himself on the right side of the law,
[21:05] Speaker 3: murders against the law.
[21:06] Speaker 5: Oh, he'll find a way way to kill me, to
[21:09] Speaker 5: kill Kerrigan Mallows already dead.
[21:11] Speaker 3: I don't afford to risk anything here, Wendy. Perhaps I
[21:14] Speaker 3: can make him realize that he Hey, just must be
[21:18] Speaker 3: the airport. It ain't much, No, it's a private fields deserted.
[21:24] Speaker 3: At the moment the landing lights are on the no
[21:27] Speaker 3: welcoming committee. Here's a landing strip. I better pull up. Well,
[21:34] Speaker 3: at least the rain has stopped.
[21:35] Speaker 4: Oh, it's so cool.
[21:38] Speaker 3: Yeah, the ground's wet, and I'll be careful.
[21:42] Speaker 4: It's like a strange ship san brilliant lights and in
[21:46] Speaker 4: the darkness.
[21:46] Speaker 5: How wrong.
[21:49] Speaker 4: The emptiness?
[21:50] Speaker 3: Don't kne a little longer. So, yeah, that's a plane
[21:58] Speaker 3: getting closer. Guys over there, I can see his life.
[22:05] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he's hangling for a landing. He do, He's
[22:09] Speaker 3: stay in the cab and he's setting her down. Hey,
[22:14] Speaker 3: he did a beautiful job. Not very fine. Now that's
[22:17] Speaker 3: the plane's getting a bit but he's got a straightened
[22:20] Speaker 3: out it. Come on, Wendy, mister Morgan, I presume.
[22:27] Speaker 10: You presume riot.
[22:30] Speaker 8: Hello Wendy, Hello.
[22:32] Speaker 3: Harry, your mind if we join you. It's a little
[22:36] Speaker 3: damp down here, all right, help you go, Wendy, now me.
[22:45] Speaker 8: Well, Wendy, they put you on the welcome committee.
[22:48] Speaker 4: Huh, Harry, don't look at me like that. Please.
[22:55] Speaker 3: My name is Temper.
[22:56] Speaker 8: Yeah, what are you doing here?
[22:58] Speaker 3: I'm insurance your what Wendy's insurance against your losing your temper?
[23:05] Speaker 8: I never lose my temper. I never lose anything.
[23:09] Speaker 3: How was the weather back in Guatemala fine?
[23:11] Speaker 8: When I took off?
[23:12] Speaker 3: Why nothing anything happened on the fly No, a very
[23:17] Speaker 3: nice plane.
[23:18] Speaker 8: Happens to be the best twin motor job built.
[23:20] Speaker 3: Yeah, I can believe that. The pilot's seats nice and dry,
[23:26] Speaker 3: flower of the cabin nice and dry.
[23:29] Speaker 8: What cooks with him, Wendy? Does he want to grow
[23:31] Speaker 8: up and deal? Weather man?
[23:32] Speaker 3: Everything's nice and dry, Morgan, except your shoes? What was
[23:39] Speaker 3: your shoes are wet? Hey company, Let's see who it is? Well,
[23:47] Speaker 3: vanishing mister Kerrigan, come in.
[23:50] Speaker 8: My my Carrigan carrying a gun like a real big bull.
[23:54] Speaker 3: Never mind a gaga.
[23:55] Speaker 10: Is Morgan? Samy's dead?
[23:56] Speaker 3: So's Marlow.
[23:57] Speaker 8: That's very sad news you're telling me, want me to
[23:59] Speaker 8: break down.
[24:00] Speaker 2: I'm on the spot for both.
[24:01] Speaker 10: Killing's Morgan?
[24:03] Speaker 8: That's very sad. Why'd you kill him?
[24:06] Speaker 3: You might as well save your breath on that one too.
[24:09] Speaker 3: You see, Morgan's shoes are wet. It was fine weather
[24:13] Speaker 3: in Guatemala when Morgan took off. The plane doesn't leak.
[24:18] Speaker 3: He just landed. It hasn't been off the plane yet.
[24:21] Speaker 3: How did he get his shoes wet? Very nice shooting, Morgan.
[24:27] Speaker 3: You got his arm very nice shooting, indeed.
[24:29] Speaker 8: Yeah, even wearing wet shoes. I'll think your gun carry
[24:35] Speaker 8: thank you, you was saying template.
[24:41] Speaker 3: It's only one way you could have got your shoes wet.
[24:44] Speaker 3: Mister Morgan, you must have been out in the rain,
[24:47] Speaker 3: which means this is your second landings. Yeah, mister Morgan
[24:51] Speaker 3: was around New York yesterday and today. Then he got
[24:54] Speaker 3: back to his plane, flew around a bit, and landed
[24:57] Speaker 3: it all over again on the schedule he'd given the press.
[25:00] Speaker 3: It would have made a nice alibi alibi, the Sammy's
[25:05] Speaker 3: murder and Marla's. Too bad he got his shoes wet.
[25:08] Speaker 8: Yes, too bad for you, templar.
[25:11] Speaker 9: Sure, I landed here yesterday, went to down and took
[25:13] Speaker 9: care of a couple of things. In other words, Sammy
[25:16] Speaker 9: and Marlow got killed while I was officially.
[25:19] Speaker 8: Flying in from South America.
[25:21] Speaker 3: The lovely alibi, one of the loveliest alibis I've ever met.
[25:25] Speaker 3: The pitiot had to be destroyed.
[25:26] Speaker 8: It hasn't been going to stand up.
[25:29] Speaker 9: After the three of you get yourselves mixed up in
[25:31] Speaker 9: a gunfight and knock yourselves off.
[25:33] Speaker 3: I think you could get away with it.
[25:35] Speaker 8: I can try. What have I got to lose your
[25:37] Speaker 8: pilot's license?
[25:38] Speaker 3: At least.
[25:45] Speaker 4: You knocked him up.
[25:48] Speaker 3: No, I did he must have a very weak job, Louis.
[25:51] Speaker 7: You angel, I've seen the other guy, you know, one
[25:54] Speaker 7: bleeding from the armsteam climb into the plane. I didn't
[25:57] Speaker 7: know you was expecting, so I thought maybe i'd come
[25:59] Speaker 7: and keep you company too.
[26:00] Speaker 3: And I'm very glad you did, Louis. But even the
[26:03] Speaker 3: best of parties must come to an end. So, Louis,
[26:06] Speaker 3: will you phone the police and inform them that Harry
[26:09] Speaker 3: Morgan has made his last landing? But Simon, yes, Wendy.
[26:21] Speaker 4: You knew. You must have known that Morgan had killed
[26:23] Speaker 4: Sammy and Marlow before we even got to the airport.
[26:25] Speaker 3: I did. The wet shoes helped me convince Morgan, I knew.
[26:28] Speaker 3: But Wendy, why was Sammy killed?
[26:32] Speaker 6: Well?
[26:32] Speaker 4: I thought because he'd gone around telling people about Morgan.
[26:37] Speaker 3: That's not right, though, No, because we know Morgan had
[26:40] Speaker 3: openly announced his return and Sammy's information would have bolstered
[26:44] Speaker 3: Morgan's alibi. But how did Sammy find out about Morgan's
[26:47] Speaker 3: return before the newscasters? Did? Huh?
[26:50] Speaker 4: I suppose? Oh, Morgan him shoe.
[26:55] Speaker 3: It had to be that way. Morgan told Sammy to
[26:57] Speaker 3: spread the word around and then killed him before Sammy
[27:00] Speaker 3: got too drunk, and lets the fact slip that he'd
[27:02] Speaker 3: seen Morgan a day before Morgan was supposed to arrive.
[27:06] Speaker 3: Sammy's only function was to help protect Morgan's alibi and
[27:09] Speaker 3: get the three people he was after. Thoroughly jittery and
[27:12] Speaker 3: on the run, Morgan's job would be simpler.
[27:14] Speaker 5: Then it really was.
[27:16] Speaker 4: But how did you know he killed Marlow?
[27:19] Speaker 3: Well you didn't, No, gun. I didn't because well, because
[27:23] Speaker 3: it wouldn't be proper, and Kerrigan didn't because Marlow had
[27:27] Speaker 3: taken his gun. Remember, Oh.
[27:31] Speaker 4: Gosh, Samon, the way you're saying it all sounds so simple,
[27:34] Speaker 4: but it isn't. And ungrateful and.
[27:40] Speaker 3: That was a nice kiss, but fleeting on that case,
[27:44] Speaker 3: Let's take a little longer, mister Tumbler and mister Temple
[27:50] Speaker 3: like the same. Huh.

[29:30] Speaker 8: Three Chimes Mean Good Times on NBC.
[29:39] Speaker 1: Welcome Back. An interesting episode, probably more so how the
[29:46] Speaker 1: audience in nineteen fifty would have received the Toddle and
[29:50] Speaker 1: the story. Harry Morgan is one of those names very
[29:54] Speaker 1: well known in the nineteen fifties as a result of
[29:59] Speaker 1: the culture that had been passed down. Morgan was a
[30:05] Speaker 1: Welsh privateer. Morgan became one of the more famous or
[30:11] Speaker 1: perhaps infamous pirates, depending on how you look at it,
[30:14] Speaker 1: due to his prominence in the seventeenth century classic Buccaneers
[30:21] Speaker 1: of America and beyond that became associated not just with
[30:26] Speaker 1: his actual life work, but with piracy in general. So
[30:31] Speaker 1: Harry Morgan in this story is held up as a
[30:36] Speaker 1: top of this original pirate Morgan, although the analogy seems
[30:42] Speaker 1: a little bit strained at best, as I have to
[30:46] Speaker 1: confess is some of Simon's logic in reaching his conclusion
[30:51] Speaker 1: that Morgan was the murderer. It also seems to me
[30:55] Speaker 1: that Morgan would have been better able to accomplish his
[30:59] Speaker 1: over goal had he just decided to, you know, not
[31:04] Speaker 1: hire an unreliable alcoholic as his messenger. But that's me
[31:11] Speaker 1: because even if you are totally immoral and certainly Morgan
[31:16] Speaker 1: would qualify, having an extra murder to have to care
[31:21] Speaker 1: for is the type of trouble nobody needs our listener
[31:25] Speaker 1: support and appreciation campaign begins today, and I want to
[31:29] Speaker 1: start by thinking everyone who supports the podcast, whether you're
[31:34] Speaker 1: doing that on a one time basis or if you're

[32:04] Speaker 1: choose our amazing World of Radio summer series, and it

[32:25] Speaker 1: our past Monday programs which one we should be replaying
[32:30] Speaker 1: after we finish up The Saint. Now, while we have
[32:33] Speaker 1: advertising and other things that we're working on, there are
[32:37] Speaker 1: many other things I would like to do with the podcast,
[32:41] Speaker 1: particularly with finding trusted people that I can hand over
[32:46] Speaker 1: this some of this admin piece to so that we
[32:49] Speaker 1: can really spend more time on the podcast and providing
[32:54] Speaker 1: the best value we can and really I would love
[32:57] Speaker 1: to hear feedback on different things that we can offer
