Alongside the rest of the magazine and website, The Game Informer Show podcast took an unexpected hiatus last year. We've been hard at work getting our feet back under us, making lots of behind-the-scenes efforts on the website, and working toward bringing back the physical magazine. It's kept us busy! But ahead of the magazine officially returning, Summer Game Fest activities, and the launch of Switch 2, we wanted to make sure we had an outlet to share our conversations and have you listen in. Alex Van Aken, Marcus Stewart, Charles Harte, and I have the first episode in the can where we talk about the shutdown and how it affected us, what we've been playing, and lots more. That episode isn't available quite yet, but we wanted to make sure you know where to subscribe to the show when the first episode drops on Friday, June 6. [0:08] Speaker 1: wanted to make sure we could bring the feedback to life.
[0:10] Speaker 1: We wanted to make sure you had a place where
[0:12] Speaker 1: you could go see that it's coming back, and you
[0:14] Speaker 1: could subscribe. I am Kyle Hilliard, I'm here with Marcus Stewart.
[0:19] Speaker 2: Hey, it's good to be back.
[0:21] Speaker 1: And Charles Hart Hey, Hey, hey, and hey, I'm Alex
[0:25] Speaker 1: van Ake And he's not actually here. That was my
[0:28] Speaker 1: terrible impression of Alex van Agen. But he is also
[0:30] Speaker 1: gonna be, you know, a primary part of this podcast.
[0:33] Speaker 1: It's gonna be me, Kyle, Marcus, Charles and Alex. We're
[0:36] Speaker 1: all gonna be sort of co hosting. Of course, it's
[0:39] Speaker 1: gonna work like it usually works. We'll come and go
[0:41] Speaker 1: as you know, our availability dictates, and other folks will
[0:45] Speaker 1: be on and we'll have guests and we'll have developers
[0:48] Speaker 1: and all kinds of fun stuff. But yeah, just wanted
[0:51] Speaker 1: to get things rolling. Look for new episodes every Thursday.
[0:56] Speaker 1: Although these first two episodes are gonna be a little
[0:59] Speaker 1: strange because we're in the middle of SGF and switch
[1:02] Speaker 1: to and all kinds of things. So oh, I'm just
[1:04] Speaker 1: getting choked up even thinking about it. Yeah, Charles Marcus,
[1:09] Speaker 1: I haven't let you guys talk at all. Why don't
[1:11] Speaker 1: you say some things?
[1:12] Speaker 2: Hey, the podcast is coming back. I'm excited to be back.
[1:15] Speaker 2: I'm excited to be talking to you guys again on
[1:18] Speaker 2: a weekly basis about video games and a video game
[1:22] Speaker 2: related events. And Yeah, I've just had so much chatter
[1:27] Speaker 2: built up over months as we have been working to
[1:30] Speaker 2: come back as an outlet, and now we are back
[1:34] Speaker 2: to give your ears what it has missed. I know
[1:38] Speaker 2: you have not been hearing the same since we've been gone,
[1:41] Speaker 2: and the doctor prescribed a lack of game Former show,
[1:45] Speaker 2: so we are here to be the remedy to that.
[1:48] Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm full time now, so I'll be a
[1:51] Speaker 3: regular contributor to the podcast. You can hear all my
[1:54] Speaker 3: great Charles takes like Sonic and a Black Knight is underrated,
[1:58] Speaker 3: and Hitigerous Uprising is underrated, and probably something about Lego
[2:03] Speaker 3: Star Wars. And I'm excited for these first few episodes
[2:06] Speaker 3: because even though we'll be very busy, there is plenty
[2:09] Speaker 3: to talk about between summer game fests, switch to our
[2:13] Speaker 3: issues starting up again soon. So it's a busy time,
[2:16] Speaker 3: but it's an exciting time.
[2:18] Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely well, thank you so much for resubscribing, or
[2:22] Speaker 1: maybe you've just always stayed subscribed and now you're surprised
[2:25] Speaker 1: to see a new episode in the feed. But we're
[2:27] Speaker 1: excited to bring up you know what, I'm not even
[2:29] Speaker 1: gonna edit this, guys, we're excited to be bringing this back,
