“God will supply all your needs” – it makes a nice bumper sticker, but it doesn’t change the fact that there are still unmet needs in all our lives. What if the secret to being content has less to do with getting what we need and more to do with recognizing the supply we’re given? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

[0:01] Speaker 1: Hey, this is Stephen Ferdick.
[0:02] Speaker 2: I'm the pastor of Elevation Church and this is our podcast.
[0:05] Speaker 2: I wanted to thank you for joining us today.
[0:08] Speaker 1: Hope this inspires you. Hope it builds your faith.
[0:10] Speaker 2: Hope it gives your perspective to see God is moving
[0:12] Speaker 2: in your life.
[0:13] Speaker 1: Enjoy the message.
[0:16] Speaker 2: I want you to stay standing while I read the scripture,
[0:18] Speaker 2: and I promise you after that. It's your prerogative as
[0:20] Speaker 2: to whether or not you want to sit down or
[0:22] Speaker 2: stand up for the whole time that I've preached, but
[0:25] Speaker 2: I'd like you to stand while I read this. Just
[0:27] Speaker 2: give your attention to Philippians, chapter four, verse ten through nineteen.
[0:30] Speaker 2: And this message ministered on the subject of needs and
[0:35] Speaker 2: the needs in our life in a powerful way when
[0:37] Speaker 2: I preached it last night. So I'm expectant that it'll
[0:40] Speaker 2: even go to a higher level today because God has
[0:43] Speaker 2: been speaking to me throughout the night and even this
[0:46] Speaker 2: morning about how to share this with you, and I
[0:49] Speaker 2: believe that it's going to be effective in your life. Now.
[0:52] Speaker 2: I want to put a scripture from the New Testament
[0:54] Speaker 2: up alongside a scripture in the Old Testament, and in
[0:58] Speaker 2: that space between that there's something God wants to reveal
[1:01] Speaker 2: to you today. Philippians, Chapter four, verse ten. The apostle Paul,
[1:04] Speaker 2: writing from house arrest in Rome, says, I rejoiced greatly
[1:09] Speaker 2: in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern
[1:11] Speaker 2: for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no
[1:14] Speaker 2: opportunity to show it. I'm not saying this because I'm
[1:17] Speaker 2: in need, for I have learned touch.
[1:20] Speaker 1: Somebody say it's a process.
[1:23] Speaker 2: I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
[1:28] Speaker 1: We know that this is true.
[1:30] Speaker 2: Of Paul, and it's not just a Christian cliche because
[1:35] Speaker 2: he's writing it.
[1:38] Speaker 1: While he's in the middle of a trial.
[1:41] Speaker 2: Yet this letter, which was written to the Philippian Church
[1:44] Speaker 2: was the first church he established in Europe, is called
[1:47] Speaker 2: by many the happiest book in the Bible. It is
[1:50] Speaker 2: proof that your surroundings don't have to dominate your spirit.
[1:56] Speaker 1: Your spirit, and I'm.
[2:00] Speaker 2: Saying, is proof that my state of affairs doesn't have
[2:04] Speaker 2: to determine my state of mind. And Paul is talking
[2:07] Speaker 2: about that very thing, and he's not only saying it, but.
[2:09] Speaker 1: He's living it as he writes it.
[2:11] Speaker 2: He says, I know what it is to be in need,
[2:14] Speaker 2: and I know what it is to have plenty. I
[2:16] Speaker 2: have learned the secret of being content in any and
[2:22] Speaker 2: every situation, whether well fed, whether hungry, whether living.
[2:28] Speaker 3: In plenty or in wan.
[2:30] Speaker 1: I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. Yet,
[2:33] Speaker 1: it was good of you to share in my troubles.
[2:36] Speaker 2: Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of
[2:40] Speaker 2: your acquaintance with the Gospel, when I set out from Macedonia,
[2:45] Speaker 2: not one church shared with me in the matter of
[2:49] Speaker 2: giving and receiving except you only, for even when I
[2:54] Speaker 2: was in Thessalonika, you sent me aid more than once
[2:57] Speaker 2: when I was in need.
[3:01] Speaker 1: Not that I desire your.
[3:02] Speaker 2: Gifts touch somebody say I'm good, I'm.
[3:04] Speaker 1: Good, I'm good.
[3:06] Speaker 2: What I desire is that more be credited to your account.
[3:14] Speaker 2: I have received full payment and have more than enough.
[3:18] Speaker 2: I am amply supplied now that I have received from Epaphroditis.
[3:24] Speaker 2: Baby name anybody, anybody pregnant looking for something to name
[3:27] Speaker 2: your kid a Paphroditis. Paphroditis, join it out there for suggestion.
[3:34] Speaker 2: Name that kid a Paphroditis. None of the kids in
[3:36] Speaker 2: kindergarten will be raising their hand when the teacher calls
[3:38] Speaker 2: that name, except.
[3:39] Speaker 1: Yours, epatrid you call them pappy for short.
[3:41] Speaker 2: It's kind of hard to spell the paphridies, he said,
[3:44] Speaker 2: now that I have received.
[3:45] Speaker 1: From Epaphroditis the gifts you sent.
[3:47] Speaker 2: They are a fragrant offering and acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
[3:52] Speaker 2: And My God will meet all your needs.
[3:56] Speaker 1: This is one of the coolest verses in the Bible.
[3:59] Speaker 2: This is one of the most misunderstood versus in the Bible.
[4:03] Speaker 1: And My God will meet all your needs.
[4:05] Speaker 2: We're gonna work on this today, according to the riches
[4:08] Speaker 2: of His glory in Christ, Jesus.
[4:10] Speaker 1: Amen, say a louder, Amen.
[4:13] Speaker 2: Now look at Joshua chapter five, verse twelve, just one verse.
[4:18] Speaker 2: The mana stopped the day after they ate this food
[4:22] Speaker 2: from the land. There was no longer any manna for
[4:27] Speaker 2: the Israelites. But that year they ate the produce of canaan.
[4:34] Speaker 2: Test nobody say this is the year. This is the year.
[4:37] Speaker 2: That year they ate the produce of canaan. The man
[4:41] Speaker 2: of stopped the day after they ate this food from
[4:45] Speaker 2: the land. I want to preach to you today from
[4:48] Speaker 2: this title, this subject. He took the mana off the menu.
[4:57] Speaker 2: Come on, somebody he took the mana off the menu.
[5:04] Speaker 2: And he did it for a reason. Father, illuminate your word.
[5:08] Speaker 2: Drive it deep in our hearts to a place where
[5:10] Speaker 2: we couldn't get it out without acting on it if.
[5:13] Speaker 1: We wanted to.
[5:14] Speaker 2: In Jesus' name, everybody shout eight men one more time.
[5:18] Speaker 2: He may be seated in the presence of God. Took
[5:27] Speaker 2: the man off the menu. Key took the man off
[5:30] Speaker 2: the menu. Stephen Webb, he took the mana off the menu.
[5:34] Speaker 1: Are turkhursed?
[5:36] Speaker 2: It's like chicken nuggets coming off the menu at Chick
[5:39] Speaker 2: fil a?
[5:39] Speaker 1: What's he doing? Do you know this phrase?
[5:43] Speaker 2: Supply side economics?
[5:45] Speaker 1: Have you heard this phrase?
[5:47] Speaker 2: I was a I'm not trying to brag, but I
[5:49] Speaker 2: was a business administration minor in college. I'm minored in
[5:53] Speaker 2: business administration, So if you ever want my expert advice
[5:57] Speaker 2: on any of your business plans, I'll be in available
[6:00] Speaker 2: to advise you. I do have a minor in business administration,
[6:05] Speaker 2: and they taught me an economics class about supply side economics,
[6:10] Speaker 2: very controversial theory, macroeconomic theory. And I could read your
[6:14] Speaker 2: technical definition, but let me make it a little simpler
[6:18] Speaker 2: than that, because I'm not an economist, and that's not
[6:20] Speaker 2: my goal here today. But it's really a theory that
[6:25] Speaker 2: tries to explain the phenomena based on explanations. It's been
[6:30] Speaker 2: called trickle down policy or Reaganomics. It's controversial, to say
[6:35] Speaker 2: the least, but the single idea behind the pillars of
[6:39] Speaker 2: supply side economics is that the production or the supply
[6:46] Speaker 2: of the goods and the services is most important in
[6:50] Speaker 2: determining economic growth. In other words, by investing in capital
[6:55] Speaker 2: and breaking the barriers, whether through tax cuts or other measures.
[7:00] Speaker 2: The more goods are available to more consumers at a
[7:03] Speaker 2: cheaper rate, the better off an economy will be. Again,
[7:05] Speaker 2: this is a controversial economic theory, and I'm not here
[7:08] Speaker 2: to espouse it or to contradict it, but I bring
[7:11] Speaker 2: it up as a sort of analogy for the kind
[7:14] Speaker 2: of spirituality that Paul is a proponent of in Philippians
[7:18] Speaker 2: chapter four, where he states that.
[7:22] Speaker 1: I have needs, but I'm not needy. I have needs,
[7:28] Speaker 1: but I'm not needy.
[7:32] Speaker 2: And in the Book of Philippians you get perhaps the
[7:34] Speaker 2: most personal glimpse of Paul. It seems that this letter
[7:38] Speaker 2: is not marred with some of the corrective measures, say
[7:42] Speaker 2: when Paul is addressing the Corinthian Church. There's so much
[7:45] Speaker 2: he has to straighten out with them, he's not able
[7:47] Speaker 2: to really let his guard down. You know, there are
[7:50] Speaker 2: certain people that you can't share certain components of yourself
[7:54] Speaker 2: with because you can't trust them in that way. And
[7:57] Speaker 2: the Philippian Church, after once again supporting Paul in a
[8:02] Speaker 2: practical way, have warmed the affection of his heart so
[8:06] Speaker 2: that he writes them in a way that we really
[8:09] Speaker 2: get to see the apostle share. I believe some of
[8:12] Speaker 2: the secrets that he won't share it with anybody else
[8:16] Speaker 2: to the way that he has lived his life that
[8:18] Speaker 2: have enabled him to be so faithful. I think you
[8:21] Speaker 2: hear it even in his language. He said, I'm going.
[8:23] Speaker 1: To tell you this secret.
[8:24] Speaker 2: Did you hear him say, I've learned the secret of
[8:27] Speaker 2: being content. You don't tell secrets to anyone who's not
[8:30] Speaker 2: your friend. And these people, by renewing their concern for
[8:36] Speaker 2: Paul in a difficult time in his life, have earned
[8:39] Speaker 2: his trust to the point where.
[8:40] Speaker 1: He said, I'm gonna let you in on something.
[8:43] Speaker 2: I'm not only going to let you in on how
[8:45] Speaker 2: I do it, but I'm going to let you in
[8:47] Speaker 2: on a little bit on the need side. I'm going
[8:50] Speaker 2: to tell you a little bit of what it's.
[8:52] Speaker 1: Been like to be me.
[8:54] Speaker 2: And he's not afraid with this group of people to
[8:57] Speaker 2: express his needs, to make his needs known.
[9:02] Speaker 1: He makes his needs known.
[9:03] Speaker 2: And he says to the church at Philippi, who he's
[9:06] Speaker 2: been estranged from through circumstances, he would like to be
[9:09] Speaker 2: with them in person, but says he can't. He just says,
[9:11] Speaker 2: you know, it meant a lot that you sent something
[9:15] Speaker 2: to help me out. It meant a lot. You can
[9:18] Speaker 2: almost hear him saying I needed that. I needed that.
[9:23] Speaker 1: I realized recently that.
[9:25] Speaker 2: The number one thing that people say about Twitter, Instagram,
[9:29] Speaker 2: different social media posts that we try to put out
[9:31] Speaker 2: to inspire people, that just put needed that, because you
[9:34] Speaker 2: never know what somebody's going through in their life and
[9:37] Speaker 2: it can just hit them at a certain time where
[9:39] Speaker 2: they're like, I was just thinking about that. I was
[9:41] Speaker 2: just I was just praying about that. I was just
[9:44] Speaker 2: wondering how that was going to work out. And it's
[9:46] Speaker 2: like wow, And the only thing that can say is
[9:49] Speaker 2: needed that needed that. And Paul seems to take a
[9:56] Speaker 2: supply side view of spirituality. That is see he seems
[10:02] Speaker 2: less focused on the needs, though they're great than the supply,
[10:07] Speaker 2: because it's greater.
[10:09] Speaker 1: Talk to me, somebody. You've got to decide.
[10:12] Speaker 2: Are you going to live your life from the need
[10:14] Speaker 2: side or the supply side? This is faith's greatest question.
[10:23] Speaker 2: Do I see my needs through my supply? Or am
[10:29] Speaker 2: I always missing my supply because all I see is
[10:33] Speaker 2: my needs. God wants to invite you over today to
[10:39] Speaker 2: the supply side of spirituality. But when you pray, he says,
[10:45] Speaker 2: I'm hearing you talk so much about your needs. And
[10:47] Speaker 2: I don't mind hearing about your needs. But if you
[10:50] Speaker 2: would devote at least as much time to acknowledging my
[10:54] Speaker 2: supply as you do to listing your needs, I could
[10:58] Speaker 2: release my supp lie through the portal up your faith
[11:02] Speaker 2: and your brains. We seem to operate from this philosophy
[11:09] Speaker 2: that God's greatest goal is to put us in a
[11:12] Speaker 2: place of no need. That God wants to get us
[11:18] Speaker 2: to the place where we don't have any needs. But
[11:21] Speaker 2: he's not going to do it. He's not going to
[11:24] Speaker 2: do it because if you didn't have any needs in
[11:28] Speaker 2: your life, it would be just a matter of time
[11:29] Speaker 2: before you thought you didn't need him talk back to me.
[11:35] Speaker 2: You know, you would get so prideful.
[11:37] Speaker 1: People wouldn't even be able to be around you. You'd
[11:40] Speaker 1: be so cocky, you'd be so.
[11:42] Speaker 2: Judgmental, you would solve everybody's problem. So the need that
[11:46] Speaker 2: you're asking God to eliminate in your life is the
[11:50] Speaker 2: very space that he wants to show his supply.
[11:54] Speaker 1: Now, once you see it that way, once.
[11:56] Speaker 2: You see it from the supply side, everybody shall cross over.
[12:01] Speaker 2: This puts you in a state of contentment. I have
[12:05] Speaker 2: learned the secret of being content in any and every situation.
[12:13] Speaker 2: I know what it is to be in need, Paul says,
[12:15] Speaker 2: and I.
[12:16] Speaker 1: Know what it is to have plenty.
[12:17] Speaker 2: Now. I used to think that Paul was describing two
[12:20] Speaker 2: different seasons of his life, and perhaps he is. He's saying,
[12:23] Speaker 2: you know, I've had times when I was up. I've
[12:26] Speaker 2: had times when I was down. I've had times when
[12:28] Speaker 2: I had to pay a lot of taxes, and I've
[12:30] Speaker 2: had times when I couldn't.
[12:31] Speaker 1: Pay the rent. I've had times where I.
[12:33] Speaker 2: Had so many people to call back that I didn't
[12:35] Speaker 2: know who to start with. And I've had times where
[12:37] Speaker 2: I was so lonely. I wondered that everybody forgotten about me.
[12:40] Speaker 2: This is the essence of the emotional core of Philippians four.
[12:44] Speaker 2: And you missed this. If you just hit thirteen and nineteen,
[12:48] Speaker 2: I can do all things through prist too. Gives me strength,
[12:51] Speaker 2: like Paul was about the bench press three oh five before.
[12:54] Speaker 2: He said that, talking about how strong he was. But
[12:57] Speaker 2: it is against the backdrop of his great struggle that
[13:00] Speaker 2: he declares the supply and the strength of God, so
[13:04] Speaker 2: that by the time he gets to nineteen.
[13:06] Speaker 3: He says, I've been in need.
[13:08] Speaker 4: I've been flat level, I've been a pandon, I've been betrayed,
[13:13] Speaker 4: I've been forgotten about. I've been depressed, I've been accused,
[13:18] Speaker 4: I've been broke, I've been sick.
[13:20] Speaker 2: But my God is still joholfa Chira. He'll still supply.
[13:32] Speaker 2: I told you we were gonna have some good church today.
[13:34] Speaker 2: I figure, if you're gonna make the effort to come,
[13:37] Speaker 2: I'm not gonna short change you. High five three people
[13:40] Speaker 2: tell him God.
[13:41] Speaker 3: Is my supplier. God is my supplier. God is my supplier.
[13:45] Speaker 2: He's my need meeter, he's my weightmaker, he's my streaming
[13:50] Speaker 2: the tesser.
[13:51] Speaker 3: He's my rock and a trying, weary lamb. He is
[13:54] Speaker 3: my water, my God.
[14:02] Speaker 2: But I had some needs. Now I had some needs,
[14:08] Speaker 2: and I have learned how to meet those needs in
[14:13] Speaker 2: an appropriate way. That's what marriage is, by the way,
[14:18] Speaker 2: is it's a combination of needs between two people from
[14:27] Speaker 2: different planets. Now, if you understand that context for marriage,
[14:30] Speaker 2: your expectations will be set. They write books about this.
[14:34] Speaker 2: It's called his Needs, Her Needs. By the book, put
[14:36] Speaker 2: it on Amazon, and the Amazon thing on your iPhone,
[14:40] Speaker 2: down a little walk preaching his needs, her needs, five
[14:43] Speaker 2: love languages, all these ways to say that. You know,
[14:47] Speaker 2: you could actually be trying to meet somebody's needs, but
[14:50] Speaker 2: meeting them in a way that they can't receive because
[14:53] Speaker 2: you don't.
[14:53] Speaker 1: Know what they really need.
[15:00] Speaker 2: You can wreck a whole marriage trying to meet needs
[15:04] Speaker 2: that you have in another person. You can ruin a
[15:11] Speaker 2: whole friendship projecting your needs on another person and trying.
[15:15] Speaker 1: To give them what you would want.
[15:18] Speaker 2: Understanding the needs of your wife is critical.
[15:24] Speaker 1: Understanding the needs of your husband.
[15:26] Speaker 2: I can talk to you about that on another series.
[15:29] Speaker 2: Sometimes when the well send to make sure none of
[15:31] Speaker 2: the kids get in here, and we'll talk about his needs.
[15:35] Speaker 2: It won't take me long. It'll be the shortest sermon
[15:38] Speaker 2: at elevation, shirts be out in time for breakfast.
[15:42] Speaker 1: Watch this needs everybody, say needs Now.
[15:45] Speaker 2: I need you to turn the person next to you
[15:46] Speaker 2: and tell them something you're not gonna want to tell them,
[15:48] Speaker 2: especially if you're married to him, because it's not like
[15:50] Speaker 2: an insult, but you need to tell them because it's
[15:51] Speaker 2: something you need to understand.
[15:53] Speaker 1: Tell your neighbor you can't meet my needs. You can't,
[16:02] Speaker 1: You can't, you can't.
[16:06] Speaker 2: Another problem people make going into relationships is expecting that
[16:11] Speaker 2: you're going to meet my needs, expecting that you are
[16:16] Speaker 2: going to be y'all just got married. Caroline and Sina.
[16:19] Speaker 2: I'm not saying that you can't be a conduit in
[16:22] Speaker 2: meeting her needs. I'm not saying you can't be her
[16:25] Speaker 2: superman in some ways. I'm not saying that there aren't
[16:30] Speaker 2: some of her needs, but she has some needs that
[16:34] Speaker 2: if she doesn't learn how to let God meet those needs.
[16:38] Speaker 2: Caroline works in my office and see. One of the
[16:41] Speaker 2: things about having people who are in your life on
[16:43] Speaker 2: a day to day basis is you can fall into
[16:46] Speaker 2: the trap of expecting one person to meet all of
[16:49] Speaker 2: your needs.
[16:50] Speaker 1: Then you violate the nature of the.
[16:51] Speaker 2: Relationship because you're trying to get somebody to deliver something
[16:55] Speaker 2: to your doorstep that they're not authorized to carry. So,
[17:02] Speaker 2: quite honestly, as your pastor, there are certain needs that
[17:05] Speaker 2: I will be able to meet for you that she
[17:07] Speaker 2: can't meet. I'm gonna tell you the flip side of that,
[17:10] Speaker 2: which is much more important. There are certain needs that
[17:13] Speaker 2: I am never gonna meet of yours. I'm not even
[17:17] Speaker 2: gonna think about them. This is a gross illustration. Everybody
[17:20] Speaker 2: shall needs and learning who God has put in your
[17:25] Speaker 2: life to meet certain needs, and learning how God sends
[17:30] Speaker 2: what you need in your life. See, people will say
[17:33] Speaker 2: all the time, God is all I need, and God
[17:36] Speaker 2: is shaking his head in Heaven saying no, I'm not, No,
[17:40] Speaker 2: I'm not.
[17:42] Speaker 1: I have all that you need.
[17:43] Speaker 2: But the only way I can get you what you
[17:45] Speaker 2: need is to distribute it through the people that I
[17:48] Speaker 2: put in your life. So when you isolate yourself and.
[17:52] Speaker 1: Call it spirituality, that's why I.
[17:55] Speaker 2: Worry about people who don't come to church. I don't
[17:57] Speaker 2: need to come to church. I just have my own
[17:59] Speaker 2: relationship with God.
[18:00] Speaker 1: That's fine. But the church is the trucks and the
[18:05] Speaker 1: funnels and the tracks through.
[18:08] Speaker 2: Which God gets his supply to your life. So before
[18:13] Speaker 2: you cut yourself off from church, you better realize that
[18:16] Speaker 2: God is the need meeter, but the church is the distribution.
[18:21] Speaker 3: System through which God meets needs.
[18:24] Speaker 1: In the world.
[18:27] Speaker 2: My God will meet all your needs, and Paul is heard.
[18:34] Speaker 2: You can hear him hurt if you listen for it.
[18:36] Speaker 2: If you just go, I can do all things through
[18:38] Speaker 2: Christ strengthens me. If you just go, my God will
[18:40] Speaker 2: meet all your needs. If you don't read all that
[18:42] Speaker 2: other stuff that I read, you miss the essence of
[18:46] Speaker 2: Paul speaking of God's supply from a place of great need.
[18:50] Speaker 2: He said, no other church helped me, but you, a
[18:53] Speaker 2: man who gave his life for the Gospel, and in
[18:57] Speaker 2: his time of need, he says.
[18:58] Speaker 1: You are the only ones there.
[19:00] Speaker 2: You can hear him fighting self pity if you listen
[19:03] Speaker 2: for it. You can hear him processing through all of
[19:07] Speaker 2: the other lists of churches, the places where he served
[19:10] Speaker 2: for free. And he was bivocational because he didn't want
[19:13] Speaker 2: to burden them. But when he got in trouble, and
[19:16] Speaker 2: when he was appealing to Caesar under house arrest and
[19:20] Speaker 2: no longer able to function in the same ways, he's
[19:22] Speaker 2: wondering Where are all the people that I invested in
[19:27] Speaker 2: at the time where I need dividends.
[19:31] Speaker 1: That's a painful thing, he said, But you were there
[19:37] Speaker 1: for me. They sent him a little money.
[19:40] Speaker 2: They sent a paphroditis along with the little money to
[19:45] Speaker 2: meet his needs, and Paul said, I appreciate that. That's
[19:50] Speaker 2: going to be a big help. My trial is very expensive.
[19:54] Speaker 2: I'm mounting a legal defense and I don't know how
[19:56] Speaker 2: long this is going to drag on, and so this
[19:58] Speaker 2: will come in very usefully. But it's not even the
[20:03] Speaker 2: money that meant the most to me. What meant the.
[20:06] Speaker 1: Most to me is that you shared in my troubles.
[20:12] Speaker 2: Sometimes people don't want your solutions, they just want solidarity
[20:17] Speaker 2: with someone who can be there for them. Paul said,
[20:20] Speaker 2: I appreciate the money that you sent me. I'm going
[20:22] Speaker 2: to use it. But what really mattered to me was
[20:27] Speaker 2: that you were there for me. I'll tell you there
[20:29] Speaker 2: is something about people who are there for you in
[20:32] Speaker 2: your time of need that you will never ever forget them.
[20:37] Speaker 2: I can tell you to a person, to a person
[20:42] Speaker 2: who came to my dad's funeral that I didn't expect
[20:44] Speaker 2: to see there, and when I saw him, I was like,
[20:48] Speaker 2: you didn't have to come, but inside.
[20:50] Speaker 1: I was thinking, I'm sure glad you did. The people
[20:54] Speaker 1: who canceled vacations to be there, I'll never forget them.
[20:58] Speaker 2: I'll never forget Buck sitting at my mom's house and
[21:01] Speaker 2: my dad's house for four days.
[21:03] Speaker 1: I don't think he left.
[21:04] Speaker 2: He was like chained like a junkyard dog to the
[21:06] Speaker 2: front porch for four days while my dad died, while
[21:09] Speaker 2: hospice was in and out. I'll never forget that, never
[21:13] Speaker 2: forget the team that was there in the early days
[21:15] Speaker 2: of the church. I appreciate everybody who's calm sence then,
[21:18] Speaker 2: but you know, the people who were there when we
[21:20] Speaker 2: needed it the most.
[21:23] Speaker 1: Let me tell you a secret.
[21:24] Speaker 2: If you really want to invest in relationships by low.
[21:31] Speaker 1: By low.
[21:32] Speaker 2: When you invest in the stock market, they teach you
[21:34] Speaker 2: don't always try.
[21:35] Speaker 1: To invest in something that's like way up here.
[21:39] Speaker 2: The time you want to buy in is when it's low,
[21:42] Speaker 2: because then when it shoots up, you have a good
[21:45] Speaker 2: stake in it.
[21:47] Speaker 1: Relationships are a lot like that.
[21:49] Speaker 2: If you will be the kind of person who says,
[21:52] Speaker 2: I'm gonna be there with you.
[21:54] Speaker 1: What did Oprah say? I always like to quote Oprah
[21:56] Speaker 1: once a month.
[21:56] Speaker 2: What did Oprah say, anybody will ride with you in
[21:59] Speaker 2: the limousine. What I need is somebody to ride with
[22:02] Speaker 2: me when the limousine breaks down and we got to
[22:05] Speaker 2: take the bus.
[22:06] Speaker 3: I'm looking for some bus friends. I'm looking for some people.
[22:10] Speaker 2: Who will be on my side when I.
[22:12] Speaker 3: Don't have anything to give. I'm looking for some people
[22:16] Speaker 3: who are it.
[22:24] Speaker 2: So Paul says, I appreciate that. I appreciate that you
[22:28] Speaker 2: couldn't be here with me. So you did what you could.
[22:31] Speaker 2: And you know, you've got to value I know this
[22:33] Speaker 2: is a practical teaching, but I want to get it
[22:35] Speaker 2: across to you because God has really been speaking to me.
[22:37] Speaker 2: You got to value what people can give you and
[22:39] Speaker 2: not resent what they can't. You can't hold people hostage
[22:50] Speaker 2: to the needs that you have that they can't meet.
[22:53] Speaker 2: So he says, I appreciate what you're doing for me.
[22:58] Speaker 2: I appreciate it, and I appreciate you.
[23:00] Speaker 1: And then Pappy over, but we need to talk about Pappy.
[23:07] Speaker 2: Because Pappy, Pappy was kind of sickly And the heart
[23:11] Speaker 2: of my message is really derived from a scripture I
[23:14] Speaker 2: didn't get to read you over in two twenty five,
[23:17] Speaker 2: go to the screen. He said, I think now it's
[23:20] Speaker 2: necessary to send back to you a paphroditis. He's my brother,
[23:26] Speaker 2: he's my coworker, he's my fellow soldier. I bet he is.
[23:31] Speaker 2: I bet you do appreciate him. He traveled eight hundred miles.
[23:34] Speaker 2: If Paul was in prison where we think he was,
[23:36] Speaker 2: over eight hundred miles to bring the.
[23:38] Speaker 1: Gift to him, I bet you do appreciate him. This
[23:41] Speaker 1: guy came a long way to help me.
[23:44] Speaker 2: You sent me a messenger, not only with money, but
[23:47] Speaker 2: you send me a messenger with encouragement. You sent him
[23:50] Speaker 2: to take care of my Say it again, my.
[23:57] Speaker 1: You sent a.
[23:59] Speaker 2: Paphroditis to take care of my needs. But I got
[24:01] Speaker 2: to send him back for he longs for you all.
[24:06] Speaker 2: He's homesick, and he's distressed because you heard that he
[24:11] Speaker 2: was ill.
[24:13] Speaker 1: He's in trouble, and he needs you.
[24:17] Speaker 2: And that really touched me because I thought, here's Paul
[24:22] Speaker 2: awaiting what would eventually be a verdict of death, and
[24:27] Speaker 2: his very life is in the balance, and yet he's
[24:31] Speaker 2: developed enough spiritually where he still has the presence of
[24:34] Speaker 2: mind to consider the needs of the church that he
[24:37] Speaker 2: started above his own. That touched me because in that
[24:43] Speaker 2: I realized that the secret that Paul spoke of to
[24:47] Speaker 2: being content, the secret to saying God can meet all
[24:51] Speaker 2: my needs, is that even when I have a great need.
[24:56] Speaker 1: My focus is on yours.
[25:02] Speaker 2: What a perspective that Paul would say, A Paphroditis misses you,
[25:08] Speaker 2: and I know you miss him, And here I am
[25:11] Speaker 2: in need, and I know you send him to take
[25:13] Speaker 2: care of me. And he did and it was helpful
[25:17] Speaker 2: and I got what I needed from a Paphroditis.
[25:20] Speaker 3: But now I'm sending him back. See, Paul understood something.
[25:24] Speaker 1: About the provision of God. And this is where Joshua
[25:27] Speaker 1: comes in because Joshua centuries earlier.
[25:30] Speaker 2: Now this is centuries earlier. This is in the Old Testament.
[25:34] Speaker 2: Joshua is leading the people of God into Canaan. Canaan
[25:38] Speaker 2: is the land that God promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac,
[25:41] Speaker 2: and Jacob. Canaan is the land that God was leading
[25:44] Speaker 2: the Israelites toured through Moses.
[25:47] Speaker 1: Moses brought them.
[25:48] Speaker 3: Out of Egypt.
[25:49] Speaker 2: Joshua took them trans Jordan, across the Jordan into the land.
[25:54] Speaker 2: And the day that they're on the border, the Bible
[25:56] Speaker 2: says something interesting happened. God served an appetite. God brought
[26:01] Speaker 2: some edemamee out to the table. God brought some chips
[26:04] Speaker 2: and SAUCEA what do you like?
[26:05] Speaker 1: What do you like?
[26:06] Speaker 2: God brought some hot bread from Canaan. God brought a
[26:09] Speaker 2: fruit tray from Canaan, and he said, eat this. And
[26:12] Speaker 2: in Joshua five, verse twelve, after the men were standing
[26:16] Speaker 2: on the border of their promise, I need you to
[26:18] Speaker 2: get this.
[26:19] Speaker 1: This is so powerful. This is where some of you are.
[26:21] Speaker 2: And you've been asking questions, and you've been feeling needy,
[26:25] Speaker 2: and you've been wondering why certain sources of supply have
[26:28] Speaker 2: been cut off.
[26:29] Speaker 1: In your life.
[26:29] Speaker 2: The Bible says that the day they eat ate of
[26:33] Speaker 2: the fruit of the land of Canaan, the manna stopped.
[26:40] Speaker 2: The mana stop. Well, now, Pastor Stephen, I know what
[26:51] Speaker 2: mana is, But why don't you just tell me what
[26:53] Speaker 2: you think it is so I can make sure we're
[26:55] Speaker 2: on the same page.
[26:58] Speaker 1: Everybody shall what is it? What it is?
[27:07] Speaker 2: No, that's what manna means. That's what it means. So
[27:11] Speaker 2: the Israelites come out of Egypt. Can I take you
[27:13] Speaker 2: through a history lesson?
[27:14] Speaker 1: Real quick?
[27:15] Speaker 2: They come out of Egypt. That's where they were slaves,
[27:19] Speaker 2: and they come into the wilderness, that's where they were survivors.
[27:23] Speaker 2: You do understand that when you were a slave to sin,
[27:27] Speaker 2: there were certain pleasures that you enjoy.
[27:30] Speaker 1: There were certain ways that you got your needs met.
[27:34] Speaker 1: Come on, talk to me now, don't start looking at
[27:37] Speaker 1: me like that.
[27:38] Speaker 3: I will get so direct.
[27:39] Speaker 2: I will make you and your mom blush that you
[27:42] Speaker 2: brought the church with you. The best thing to do
[27:44] Speaker 2: is nod at me. There are certain ways that you
[27:47] Speaker 2: got your needs.
[27:48] Speaker 1: Man. But when they.
[27:49] Speaker 2: Left Egypt, they started missing the types of meals that
[27:53] Speaker 2: they got in Egypt. Now, they didn't miss the whips
[27:56] Speaker 2: of their slave masters, they didn't miss the labor of
[28:00] Speaker 2: brickmaking with not enough mortar.
[28:03] Speaker 1: In fact, they had cried out to God to get
[28:05] Speaker 1: them out of the land. But watch what happened when
[28:07] Speaker 1: they got out.
[28:08] Speaker 2: In Edjudus sixteen, verse three, because freedom is an acquired taste,
[28:14] Speaker 2: they said, Moses, it would have been better if only
[28:20] Speaker 2: we had died by the Lord's hand in Egypt, because
[28:25] Speaker 2: there we sat around pots of meat and ate all
[28:29] Speaker 2: the food we wanted.
[28:32] Speaker 1: You brought us out in this desert, starved to death
[28:37] Speaker 1: and they see, here's here's what happens. Here's what happens.
[28:41] Speaker 1: He let him out and they got to a new place.
[28:47] Speaker 1: But they were addicted to the means.
[28:55] Speaker 2: So when they got here and they felt hungry, they
[29:00] Speaker 2: it is the place they used to eat from, and
[29:03] Speaker 2: so their assumption was God must have brought us here
[29:07] Speaker 2: to die.
[29:08] Speaker 1: I have this restaurant that I like to take call
[29:10] Speaker 1: it to.
[29:10] Speaker 2: It's a very nice restaurant, very proper, and I like
[29:13] Speaker 2: to take her there as much.
[29:14] Speaker 1: As I can.
[29:15] Speaker 2: There was a time we couldn't go there, you know,
[29:17] Speaker 2: we couldn't afford to go there. But now we can
[29:19] Speaker 2: go there, and so I like to go there. And
[29:21] Speaker 2: I like to not even look at some of the
[29:22] Speaker 2: prices sometimes, just order whatever you want, just to do
[29:25] Speaker 2: it just because I like her, just because she's my girlfriend,
[29:28] Speaker 2: just because I'm.
[29:28] Speaker 1: Trying to impress her. Just act like it's the prom
[29:31] Speaker 1: Just act like this is my one shot to make
[29:33] Speaker 1: her like me.
[29:34] Speaker 2: And so we go in and order and they have
[29:36] Speaker 2: this squash soup that I like, this squash soup. And
[29:39] Speaker 2: I never thought I would like squash soup, but you
[29:40] Speaker 2: haven't tasted it, this squash soup. This is a different
[29:43] Speaker 2: kind of squash soup and it's got bacon in it.
[29:46] Speaker 1: And so that's all I had. You had me at
[29:48] Speaker 1: bacon and so it's.
[29:49] Speaker 2: A squash soup with the bacon in it, and I
[29:52] Speaker 2: like it. I went to order it the other day
[29:54] Speaker 2: and I said, I said, I'll have the squash soup.
[29:56] Speaker 2: Because we go in there quite a bit, as I
[29:57] Speaker 2: was saying, and the people know me in there, hip
[30:00] Speaker 2: will and everything. So I get good service and kind
[30:03] Speaker 2: of importing around there. And so I walk in, I said,
[30:05] Speaker 2: I have the squash soup and he shook his head.
[30:08] Speaker 2: He said, oh, pastor is off the menu, he said,
[30:15] Speaker 2: he said, that's a seasonal item. That's a seasonal item.
[30:28] Speaker 2: There are some things in your life that God provided
[30:34] Speaker 2: and now they're not there anymore. And you've been walking
[30:38] Speaker 2: around worried because you think now you're gonna starve. But
[30:42] Speaker 2: God said, no, no, no, it's just a new season.
[30:47] Speaker 2: And that's what new season means, lose the why my God.
[30:56] Speaker 2: So so you gotta know, you gotta I know some
[31:00] Speaker 2: things about God's provision. I'm a hasten to a close,
[31:04] Speaker 2: but I gotta give you a quick outline God's provision
[31:06] Speaker 2: is seasonal.
[31:07] Speaker 1: Everybody say seasonal. Write these down real quick.
[31:11] Speaker 2: So the next time you're leaving Egypt and you feel
[31:13] Speaker 2: those hunger pangs and you wish you were back over here,
[31:17] Speaker 2: and you feel like, oh, I don't know what God
[31:19] Speaker 2: is doing and I'm trying to do his will, but
[31:21] Speaker 2: I'm gravitating back over here, you can say, no, devil,
[31:25] Speaker 2: the provision of God is to give me what I
[31:28] Speaker 2: need in this season.
[31:30] Speaker 1: The day they left, the menu changed.
[31:38] Speaker 2: For forty years in the wilderness. God promised his provision
[31:43] Speaker 2: to the Israelites. He did it in a supernatural way.
[31:47] Speaker 2: He rained down mena from the heavens, and they saw it,
[31:55] Speaker 2: and they said, what is it?
[31:57] Speaker 1: Mana? That's what the word mana means. What is it?
[31:59] Speaker 2: That's what some of y'all said about your husband when
[32:02] Speaker 2: God brought him into your life.
[32:03] Speaker 1: It took you a minute to realize, Oh, this is
[32:05] Speaker 1: my husband.
[32:07] Speaker 2: I think Holly kind of felt that about me the
[32:09] Speaker 2: first time I was No.
[32:10] Speaker 1: I think she did.
[32:11] Speaker 2: I was kind of a pump rock guy, and the
[32:13] Speaker 2: way I dressed and everything. I had this whole style
[32:16] Speaker 2: that she wasn't really into. I think the first time
[32:18] Speaker 2: she met me, she said what is it?
[32:25] Speaker 5: Told me a while to show her what it is. Hey,
[32:33] Speaker 5: but watch this. Forty years, they got so used to it.
[32:42] Speaker 1: At one point they started yelling at Moses. They were like, Man,
[32:45] Speaker 1: all we ever get is this. Man.
[32:47] Speaker 2: Do you know you can become so accustomed to blessing
[32:50] Speaker 2: in a prolonged season that you begin to complain about
[32:53] Speaker 2: the very thing you prayed for.
[33:04] Speaker 1: And they wanted.
[33:06] Speaker 2: They wanted something different than mana mana falling down.
[33:10] Speaker 1: Oh it was sweet too, The Bible says it was sweet.
[33:13] Speaker 2: This was not a gluten free food item from Heaven's
[33:17] Speaker 2: culinary cuisine, and they ate it.
[33:21] Speaker 1: For forty years. Now, watch this. They crossed the Jordan.
[33:25] Speaker 2: Joshua was circumcises to people who haven't been circumcised yet.
[33:34] Speaker 1: So it's kind of bad timing for anything to change.
[33:38] Speaker 2: They're still recovering for the circumcision, getting ready to fight
[33:41] Speaker 2: the Battle of Jericho, and the Bible says that when
[33:44] Speaker 2: the mana would come, it would just fall, and all
[33:47] Speaker 2: they had to do to get it was gathering millions
[33:50] Speaker 2: of pounds of mana every day, and all they had
[33:52] Speaker 2: to do to get it was to gather it. All
[33:55] Speaker 2: they had to do was walk out of their tents
[33:58] Speaker 2: their buckets, bring in their manna. And then mama cooks
[34:05] Speaker 2: up the mana. Maybe she boils it, maybe she broils it,
[34:08] Speaker 2: maybe she bakes it, maybe she fries it, maybe she
[34:12] Speaker 2: roasts it. Maybe she gets creative. Maybe they eat some
[34:15] Speaker 2: mana sushi. Maybe you can eat it raw. But they
[34:18] Speaker 2: had eaten mana for forty years. One day, Jimmy comes
[34:22] Speaker 2: out of his tent to gather his manna, because that's
[34:25] Speaker 2: his job. You know, men have jobs around the houses sometime.
[34:28] Speaker 2: And so Jimmy gets up to gather the mana, and
[34:31] Speaker 2: he's kind of walking kind of slow because of what
[34:33] Speaker 2: just happened that I told you about. So he's walking
[34:36] Speaker 2: out the tent.
[34:37] Speaker 1: I was trying to make the Bible come alive for you.
[34:39] Speaker 2: So he's walking out the tent, still rubbing his eyes,
[34:44] Speaker 2: and he looks for his manna, and it's not there.
[34:51] Speaker 2: Have you ever showed up to a place where there
[34:55] Speaker 2: has been provisions so long that you took it for granted.
[35:00] Speaker 1: And it's not there.
[35:02] Speaker 2: Sometimes it takes somebody even dying in our life before
[35:04] Speaker 2: we appreciate what they brought. Sometimes it takes losing a
[35:09] Speaker 2: job to appreciate employment.
[35:14] Speaker 1: And they come. They come out of tent. Jimmy.
[35:17] Speaker 2: Jimmy looking for his manna. And now he went from
[35:20] Speaker 2: what is it? To where is it? Come on, where
[35:25] Speaker 2: is it? So Jimmy goes over to Johnny's tent and
[35:33] Speaker 2: he comes over to Johnny. He said, hey, Johnny, man
[35:36] Speaker 2: the angel got mixed up. I think he dropped off
[35:38] Speaker 2: my mana and yours too at your door today. It'd
[35:41] Speaker 2: be all right if I and Johnny said no, Jimmy,
[35:44] Speaker 2: I was just about to come over to your your
[35:46] Speaker 2: place and ask you can I have some of your
[35:48] Speaker 2: manna because I didn't get any either. Now can you
[35:54] Speaker 2: imagine the fear if this is the only way God
[35:57] Speaker 2: has fed you for forty years. God has been dropping
[36:03] Speaker 2: stuff out of the sky for forty years, and all
[36:06] Speaker 2: you had to do was gather it. In many ways,
[36:09] Speaker 2: God will allow seasons of your life where your faith
[36:11] Speaker 2: is the weakest to be the most miraculous. I remember
[36:19] Speaker 2: Ron Spivey chased my car down when I was going
[36:22] Speaker 2: back to college one semester. And Ron loved the Lord
[36:25] Speaker 2: and he loved me, and he chased after my car.
[36:28] Speaker 2: I remember I chased after my car. He said, Steeze,
[36:30] Speaker 2: Steez Steve.
[36:31] Speaker 1: Call me Steve. Nobody calls me Steve. That knows me,
[36:34] Speaker 1: but he knew me, called me Steve. Stee stee Steve.
[36:36] Speaker 2: It just dropped the in off my name, like his
[36:38] Speaker 2: wheel of fortune or something like he didn't want to buy.
[36:40] Speaker 1: An in, but it's Steez Steve.
[36:43] Speaker 2: He goes here, man, God loves you, and threw a
[36:46] Speaker 2: hundred dollar bill at me in my window. Got me
[36:48] Speaker 2: a rolled out my when I threw a hundred dollar
[36:49] Speaker 2: bill and ran the other way. You know how long
[36:53] Speaker 2: it's been since somebody threw a hundred dollars bill.
[36:56] Speaker 1: At me. But see.
[37:02] Speaker 2: Now I'm the thrower. I'm not a college student anymore.
[37:10] Speaker 2: I'm I don't need that anymore. I don't need that anymore.
[37:18] Speaker 2: There was a season, everybody say season when Holly and
[37:21] Speaker 2: I were starting the church, and it was growing that
[37:23] Speaker 2: every restaurant we went in, somebody paid for our meal.
[37:27] Speaker 2: In Charlotte, every restaurant. How many restaurants in a row?
[37:30] Speaker 2: I think one time we counted seven. It got so
[37:32] Speaker 2: predictable we almost stopped bringing our wallet and our purse
[37:35] Speaker 2: into the restaurant.
[37:37] Speaker 1: It was awesome. You know, it's been a couple of years.
[37:44] Speaker 2: But see, I don't take that like a sign that
[37:47] Speaker 2: God doesn't love me. I take it as a sign
[37:51] Speaker 2: now it was time for me to look around the
[37:53] Speaker 2: restaurant and see whose meal I can find cut on somebody,
[37:59] Speaker 2: are you doing.
[38:01] Speaker 3: Or a need meter?
[38:05] Speaker 2: Need meeter, need meter, need meeter? Touch somebody say, I'm
[38:12] Speaker 2: a need meter. I'm blessed to be a blessing. I'm
[38:17] Speaker 2: made in the image of God. I give encouragement, I
[38:21] Speaker 2: give blessing. I'm looking for somebody to help.
[38:29] Speaker 1: I'm in a new season.
[38:32] Speaker 2: Some of you have been stuck in a survival season
[38:34] Speaker 2: where you've always had your handout, needing somebody to encourage
[38:37] Speaker 2: you or serve you. And God says, in this season,
[38:40] Speaker 2: the manna is off the menu. This is your season
[38:45] Speaker 2: to learn how to sew, and your season to learn
[38:50] Speaker 2: how to water. And you will starve in your new
[38:57] Speaker 2: season if you don't learn how to access your new supply.
[39:04] Speaker 2: If you keep longing for Egypt and keep looking for
[39:08] Speaker 2: manna and don't learn how to farm in Canaan.
[39:11] Speaker 1: You're going to start to death.
[39:14] Speaker 2: If you keep waiting for those old friends to call you. See,
[39:18] Speaker 2: God has to cut you off. From some things. God
[39:22] Speaker 2: has to cut you off from some things. The manna stopped,
[39:26] Speaker 2: and the assumption could be, well, I guess God has
[39:29] Speaker 2: left us, But Joshua said.
[39:31] Speaker 1: No, that means we're on the border of Canaan.
[39:37] Speaker 2: And this is a fertile land, and so we need
[39:41] Speaker 2: to learn how to work this new crowd. Can I
[39:44] Speaker 2: stay right here for a minute? Can I stay right here?
[39:47] Speaker 2: How many of you will give me seven minutes to
[39:49] Speaker 2: finish this?
[39:50] Speaker 3: I must stay right here. I must stay right here.
[39:53] Speaker 1: I must stay right here.
[39:54] Speaker 2: It's a new season, it's a new strategy. It's a
[39:58] Speaker 2: new season, it's new supply, it's a new season.
[40:03] Speaker 3: It's the same source.
[40:05] Speaker 2: But God knows how to feed you what you need
[40:08] Speaker 2: for every season that you're in.
[40:11] Speaker 3: I'm gonna say that again.
[40:12] Speaker 2: God knows how to feed you what you need.
[40:15] Speaker 3: For every season that you're in.
[40:18] Speaker 2: So if you win outside of your tent and the
[40:20] Speaker 2: manna wasn't there, it doesn't mean God left you.
[40:24] Speaker 3: It just means that the way He's gonna feed you
[40:27] Speaker 3: has changed forms.
[40:29] Speaker 1: You're in a new season.
[40:31] Speaker 3: Come on shout about as somebody.
[40:35] Speaker 2: Come on, black people, teach my white people how to
[40:38] Speaker 2: have church, teach him how to shout, Teach him how
[40:41] Speaker 2: to praise God, Teach him how to respond to say God,
[40:44] Speaker 2: I'm not starving.
[40:46] Speaker 3: I'm in a new season, and whatever I don't have,
[40:49] Speaker 3: I don't need it in this season. It's a new season.
[41:00] Speaker 1: From season A.
[41:02] Speaker 2: Seasonal is seasonal is seasonal is seasonal. It's not that
[41:11] Speaker 2: you're not blessed anymore. It's just that it's not going
[41:14] Speaker 2: to fall down out of the sky anymore. That year
[41:17] Speaker 2: they hate the produce of Canaan Paul said, I used
[41:21] Speaker 2: to get my supply from circumstances, but I have learned.
[41:26] Speaker 3: The secret in any season is that when I cross over.
[41:32] Speaker 1: And the supply that I'm used to isn't there, God's.
[41:36] Speaker 3: Leading me to what's next.
[41:38] Speaker 1: This a new season.
[41:41] Speaker 2: God's provision is seasonal, and it's unusual. It's unusual. Everybody
[41:48] Speaker 2: shall what is it? God hides his provision for your
[41:53] Speaker 2: secret needs in unexpected places.
[42:00] Speaker 1: Nayman who had leprosy, are y'all bored?
[42:11] Speaker 2: You may be praying for wisdom and walking right past
[42:15] Speaker 2: the source of the wisdom. There may be a little
[42:19] Speaker 2: boy who has your five loaves and two fish, and
[42:22] Speaker 2: you don't even recognize him because he doesn't seem important
[42:25] Speaker 2: to you. Nayman had leprosy, and it was a little
[42:30] Speaker 2: servant girl from Israel that told him to go to Elisha.
[42:34] Speaker 2: If he had ignored that girl, his hidden needs would
[42:37] Speaker 2: have remained unmet because he didn't know how to look
[42:40] Speaker 2: for God's supply in unusual places. Elijah, go to the
[42:44] Speaker 2: brook at the Karrath Ravine. There, I have ordered the
[42:47] Speaker 2: ravens to feed you. You're not gonna get it in
[42:50] Speaker 2: this season from the places you expect. God said, I'm
[42:52] Speaker 2: gonna bless you in this season in unusual ways, in
[42:56] Speaker 2: unexpected ways, through people that you used to discount. I'm
[43:00] Speaker 2: gonna give you wisdom. I'm gonna give you supply. But
[43:03] Speaker 2: stop walking by your supply because it looks like a seed.
[43:14] Speaker 2: God stores his provision in unusual places, unusual places. I
[43:21] Speaker 2: can't understand why men don't listen to their wives. If
[43:26] Speaker 2: anybody is going to help you avoid disaster, wouldn't it
[43:29] Speaker 2: be the one who has invested their life in your success.
[43:34] Speaker 1: I thought a women's conference shout might break out right there.
[43:41] Speaker 2: Some of you women are missing your husband because you're
[43:44] Speaker 2: looking for a body type. God might give you a
[43:48] Speaker 2: good man that doesn't have a six pack.
[43:50] Speaker 1: Hello, So.
[43:57] Speaker 2: His supply is going to be it's going to be seasonal,
[44:01] Speaker 2: is gonna be unusual, and it's gonna be proportional. God
[44:07] Speaker 2: is going to give you what you need for this season.
[44:14] Speaker 2: Whatever manner they didn't gather. That they gathered, that they
[44:17] Speaker 2: didn't eat that day, it went to waste, its spoiled.
[44:21] Speaker 2: They couldn't need it. Why give us this day our
[44:24] Speaker 2: daily bread? Give me this day my daily bread. You
[44:28] Speaker 2: know why some of you have ulcers because you're trying
[44:31] Speaker 2: to fight tomorrow's battles with today's strength.
[44:40] Speaker 1: So God said, I'm gonna give you what you need.
[44:45] Speaker 2: I'm gonna supply all your needs according to my riches,
[44:50] Speaker 2: but I'm gonna measure it out according to your need,
[44:53] Speaker 2: and I know what you really need. I have learned
[44:56] Speaker 2: in my life not to ask God too much for
[44:59] Speaker 2: an opportunity, because I might get more persistent than I
[45:03] Speaker 2: am ready. And if I get more persistent than I
[45:06] Speaker 2: am ready, I'll have weight on me that I was
[45:09] Speaker 2: not built to carry in this season. So I learned
[45:17] Speaker 2: how to worship God for what he gave me and
[45:19] Speaker 2: for what he withheld for me, because he will bless
[45:23] Speaker 2: me in a way that is proportional to my purpose
[45:26] Speaker 2: and my teaching.
[45:27] Speaker 1: God is just getting down deep in you. Come on,
[45:30] Speaker 1: I want to feed you today. God's gonna feed you.
[45:33] Speaker 2: He's gonna feed you in a way this proportional, and
[45:36] Speaker 2: in a way this personal write it down is personal.
[45:38] Speaker 2: God's provision is personal. That means you don't have to
[45:41] Speaker 2: envy me. I don't have to envy you. God's gonna
[45:44] Speaker 2: supply all of my needs, my needs. God give me
[45:49] Speaker 2: what I need to do, what you called me to do.
[45:52] Speaker 2: I don't have to envy anybody else's gift. I don't
[45:55] Speaker 2: have to envy anybody else's family. I don't have to
[45:58] Speaker 2: envy anybody else's back. I don't have to envy anybody
[46:02] Speaker 2: else's skill set. God is a personal god. He's numbered
[46:06] Speaker 2: the hairs on my head. He fastened me in my
[46:09] Speaker 2: mother's womb. He created me for a purpose. He's set
[46:13] Speaker 2: the exact time I was supposed to be born, for
[46:16] Speaker 2: the exact purpose. How many are glad? He's a personal god.
[46:20] Speaker 2: He's up close and personal. He numbered the hairs on
[46:24] Speaker 2: my head. He knows what I mean. And Elisha, Elijah
[46:33] Speaker 2: asked the woman in the second king, spot said, said
[46:36] Speaker 2: what do you need? She said, they're coming to take
[46:39] Speaker 2: my sons away and I don't have anything to pay.
[46:42] Speaker 2: And she said, I don't have anything to give them.
[46:44] Speaker 2: And Elisha asked, what is in your house? So that
[46:48] Speaker 2: means that God's provision is local. That means God's provision
[46:58] Speaker 2: for your life is within your grasp. He didn't cut
[47:03] Speaker 2: off the manna until they were close to Canaan. God's
[47:05] Speaker 2: provision awaits your next step of faith. Please receive this word.
[47:12] Speaker 2: I'm not preaching this just to be entertaining. I'm not
[47:15] Speaker 2: preaching this to be your hype man. I'm trying to
[47:17] Speaker 2: get you to see that often we overlook what is
[47:20] Speaker 2: right in front of us in praying about what's ahead
[47:24] Speaker 2: of us. God, help me see the supply that you've
[47:32] Speaker 2: put in my life through new eyes.
[47:34] Speaker 1: Maybe it's not that I need God to give me
[47:38] Speaker 1: something I don't have.
[47:39] Speaker 2: Maybe it's said, I need to learn how to use
[47:41] Speaker 2: what He's already given. You have it, you have it
[47:47] Speaker 2: in your house, you have it in your heart, you
[47:51] Speaker 2: have it in your grass.
[47:54] Speaker 1: It's provision. What is it and what is it?
[48:02] Speaker 2: It's local. I want to review the whole sermon. Now
[48:05] Speaker 2: I'm closing. Stand up, Stand up, and I'll close. Stay
[48:10] Speaker 2: sitting there. I'll preach another thirty five minutes. I'll preach
[48:12] Speaker 2: through the Panthers game. I'll preach through the Super Bowl,
[48:15] Speaker 2: I'll preach through the playoffers. God's provision is seasonal. I
[48:23] Speaker 2: have what I need for now. If I have what
[48:27] Speaker 2: I need for now, and I use it, and it'll lead
[48:30] Speaker 2: me into what's next. The day they reached the border
[48:33] Speaker 2: of Canaan, the man of stopped.
[48:35] Speaker 1: It was a sign that you're in a new season.
[48:39] Speaker 1: It's unusual.
[48:40] Speaker 2: God, teach me how to not walk past the fountains
[48:44] Speaker 2: of blessing that you placed in my life this week.
[48:48] Speaker 2: Help me to look for your provision and unusual places.
[48:52] Speaker 2: Help me not to get so caught up in praying
[48:55] Speaker 2: for one thing that I miss the real thing that
[48:58] Speaker 2: you were trying to do.
[49:00] Speaker 3: Help me fix my eyes.
[49:05] Speaker 2: And it's uh proportional and it's personal, and it's local,
[49:12] Speaker 2: and it's yours.
[49:15] Speaker 1: And it's yours. I said, it's yours. I'm not even
[49:20] Speaker 1: gonna shout. I'm gonna let you shout. It's yours.
[49:23] Speaker 3: Shout.
[49:23] Speaker 6: If you on a shout, it's yours. Somebody shout his mind.
[49:30] Speaker 6: Come on, somebody shout his mind, And.
[49:34] Speaker 3: My God shall he show what he shout? What he
[49:41] Speaker 3: shout what? And my God shall suppli? Oh goody a
[49:48] Speaker 3: coming till it's riches.
[49:51] Speaker 2: Somebody give him a brase, Somebody give him a blame brad, Somebody.
[49:57] Speaker 3: Give him bread.
