[0:14] Speaker 1: Today, We're gonna be in Luke chapter seven. Everybody just
[0:23] Speaker 1: remains standing just for the reading of the word, and
[0:25] Speaker 1: then I'll have you seated here in just a moment.
[0:30] Speaker 1: We're gonna be in Luke chapter seven, Versus one to ten.
[0:34] Speaker 1: As I was preparing to preach today, we have been
[0:37] Speaker 1: in this series see King Jesus. And pastor said that
[0:42] Speaker 1: the series was done last week on Easter Sunday, and uh,
[0:48] Speaker 1: and I just was like, hey, can I just do
[0:50] Speaker 1: a bonus week? Can I just just just you know,
[0:53] Speaker 1: sneak in because it's been so powerful what God is doing.
[0:58] Speaker 1: And uh, this is just a bonus week. This is
[1:01] Speaker 1: just a bonus week of c King Jesus. We're gonna
[1:07] Speaker 1: be in Luke chapter seven, starting at verse one. Here's
[1:12] Speaker 1: what it says. It says when Jesus had finished saying
[1:16] Speaker 1: all of this to the people who were listening, now
[1:19] Speaker 1: any nosy people was like, what was Jesus talking about?
[1:23] Speaker 1: When Jesus say all of this. What was he saying? Okay,
[1:27] Speaker 1: keep that in mind, just for the nosy people. We'll
[1:30] Speaker 1: pick that up a little bit later. And then it
[1:33] Speaker 1: says he entered Capernaum. They're a centurion servant whom his
[1:39] Speaker 1: master valued highly. Was sick and was about to die
[1:44] Speaker 1: till your neighbors say he was down bad. Verse three
[1:49] Speaker 1: says the centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders
[1:53] Speaker 1: of the Jews to ask him, asking him to come
[1:56] Speaker 1: and heal the servant. When they came to Jesus, they
[2:00] Speaker 1: pleaded earnestly with him. Hey, listen, this man deserves to
[2:04] Speaker 1: have you do this because he loves our nation and
[2:08] Speaker 1: has built our synagogues. You know, he's not like them
[2:11] Speaker 1: other Roman soldiers. He's not like that. He's been he's
[2:15] Speaker 1: been good to he's been good to us without any
[2:19] Speaker 1: back and forth. It just says in verse six, so
[2:23] Speaker 1: Jesus went with him. You didn't catch it. This this general,
[2:29] Speaker 1: this this centurion general that he oversees about one hundred soldiers,
[2:34] Speaker 1: or at least one hundred soldiers. And he didn't grow
[2:37] Speaker 1: up learning about God, didn't learn up learning about yahweh.
[2:41] Speaker 1: It's from Rome and Jesus didn't batter eye to go
[2:46] Speaker 1: with him to see what he needed. I'm just slowing
[2:49] Speaker 1: down for a moment. If you felt like you grew
[2:51] Speaker 1: up on the wrong side of tracks and didn't know
[2:53] Speaker 1: whether or not God would come for you, I want
[2:55] Speaker 1: you to know that's why he came. That's why he came.
[2:59] Speaker 1: If you're like, hey, I don't know all of these scriptures,
[3:01] Speaker 1: I didn't grow up and going to Sunday school, and
[3:03] Speaker 1: I'm still trying to figure this out. Just like this
[3:06] Speaker 1: centurion general. He came to him without batting an I
[3:11] Speaker 1: so verse six, it says, so he went with him.
[3:15] Speaker 1: He was not far from the house when the centurion
[3:17] Speaker 1: sent friends to say to him, Lord, don't trouble yourself,
[3:23] Speaker 1: for I do not deserve to have you come under
[3:26] Speaker 1: my roof. That is why I did not even consider
[3:30] Speaker 1: myself worthy to come to you. But say the word.
[3:38] Speaker 1: Say the word, and my servant will be healed. For
[3:45] Speaker 1: I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me.
[3:51] Speaker 1: I tell this one go and he goes, and that
[3:54] Speaker 1: when come and he comes, I say to my servant,
[3:58] Speaker 1: do this, and he does it. When Jesus heard this,
[4:01] Speaker 1: he was amazed, turn around to the crowd. Following he said,
[4:06] Speaker 1: I tell you, I ain't seen faith like this ever.
[4:11] Speaker 1: I ain't never seen faith like this. I tell you
[4:18] Speaker 1: I've not found such great faith even in Israel. Then
[4:22] Speaker 1: the men who had been sent returned to the house
[4:26] Speaker 1: and found the servant well. I just have to tell
[4:31] Speaker 1: you this. Has anybody got faith that you see when
[4:34] Speaker 1: they return to the house, anybody have a return to
[4:36] Speaker 1: the house chark of faith, Like when I go back
[4:40] Speaker 1: home the thing that kept me up all night. God
[4:44] Speaker 1: has authority to turn it around. Tell your neighbor when
[4:48] Speaker 1: I go back to the house. When I go back
[4:53] Speaker 1: to the house, hallelujah. Thank you Jesus. They found the
[4:56] Speaker 1: servant well. Title of my message, which today is I'm
[5:01] Speaker 1: going under. I'm going under. By your head, close your eyes, Jesus.
[5:05] Speaker 1: We love you, We thank you, your good God. You're
[5:09] Speaker 1: faithful God. I asked right now that you would do
[5:11] Speaker 1: what you want to do. God, his words come out
[5:14] Speaker 1: of my mouth out I pray you would snatch them
[5:16] Speaker 1: at your power, at your authority, and when it hits
[5:19] Speaker 1: the ears and the hearts of your sons and daughters,
[5:21] Speaker 1: their lives would be changed. We love you. We thank you.
[5:25] Speaker 1: And it's in the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. Amen,
[5:29] Speaker 1: you can be seated. You can be seated. You can
[5:32] Speaker 1: be seated. Just to set a direction for this message,
[5:38] Speaker 1: I want to tell you a story, quick story about
[5:41] Speaker 1: a vacation my wife and I went on. We went
[5:44] Speaker 1: on vacation together. Just to be clear, me and my
[5:49] Speaker 1: wife went on vacation. If the kids were going, that
[5:52] Speaker 1: would be a trip. Me and my wife were on
[5:59] Speaker 1: vacation and uh, and we were having a good time.
[6:03] Speaker 1: And one of the couples that traveled with us, Uh,
[6:06] Speaker 1: they have this bright idea that we would go on
[6:08] Speaker 1: an excursion and uh, this is we're gonna go out
[6:12] Speaker 1: into a bode and go out and find a place
[6:15] Speaker 1: that we can snorkel, and we're gonna go try to
[6:17] Speaker 1: find Nemo. And uh, we're excited about it. And so
[6:21] Speaker 1: we get on the boat. The captain of our boat
[6:24] Speaker 1: when he gets to the spot we went out, the
[6:25] Speaker 1: ways were a little choppy and he takes some time
[6:28] Speaker 1: to be able to give us all of the safety protocols.
[6:31] Speaker 1: He just took control. He's like, let me tell you
[6:33] Speaker 1: what you guys are going to do, and he walks
[6:35] Speaker 1: through all of the checklists and and then he says,
[6:38] Speaker 1: it's time for you guys to go ahead and fasten
[6:41] Speaker 1: your life vest. Get your get your life vest, gohad,
[6:44] Speaker 1: and get those fastened up. And so I look around
[6:48] Speaker 1: and I noticed that my wife started to put her
[6:51] Speaker 1: life vest on. Now this was surprising to me. Let me,
[6:57] Speaker 1: let me tell you why. My wife's amazing. She's beautiful,
[7:00] Speaker 1: she's smart, she's amazing me and our boys. We are
[7:05] Speaker 1: the background singers too to the band that we're in.
[7:08] Speaker 1: She is the lead one hundred percent. Well, Whitney can't swim.
[7:17] Speaker 1: So I thought she was going to be the designated
[7:20] Speaker 1: social media manager for this duration of our vacation. You know,
[7:25] Speaker 1: she was going to be taking pictures in videos while
[7:28] Speaker 1: look at her, what are you doing? And she said, well,
[7:30] Speaker 1: I want to go see Nemo too. So I stepped
[7:35] Speaker 1: back to proceed to watch my wife get into this ocean,
[7:39] Speaker 1: knowing that she can't swim. I'm in position ready to
[7:44] Speaker 1: go save her if I need to. Okay, I'm ready
[7:46] Speaker 1: to go. I'm watching. Immediately, I see the life thats
[7:52] Speaker 1: start to come over her neck. I see her eyes
[7:56] Speaker 1: look like she's about to die with it in seconds.
[8:01] Speaker 1: Within seconds, the captain of our boat jumps over, swims over,
[8:06] Speaker 1: snatches her up out of the water, sits her down,
[8:09] Speaker 1: says are you okay. She finally gets her breath to
[8:13] Speaker 1: say she's okay, and he looks at her and says,
[8:15] Speaker 1: you stay right here. I love that we had a
[8:23] Speaker 1: captain on this boat that knew what to do when
[8:28] Speaker 1: my wife was going under. What I know in my
[8:33] Speaker 1: life is there's times that I've been under pressure. There's
[8:37] Speaker 1: times that I've been under attack. There's times I was
[8:41] Speaker 1: so overwhelmed and I felt the hand of God snatched
[8:45] Speaker 1: me out of harm's way. Is there. I don't know
[8:49] Speaker 1: if you've ever been drowning, drowning before under the pressure
[8:53] Speaker 1: of this world and you experienced the hand of God
[8:56] Speaker 1: saving you. I thank God that there was a man
[8:59] Speaker 1: on that boat that had a authority. But in my life,
[9:01] Speaker 1: I thank God that Jesus has all power and all authority,
[9:07] Speaker 1: and there's nothing, there's nothing that I could ever go
[9:10] Speaker 1: under that He isn't over. Jesus has authority. You see.
[9:19] Speaker 1: I love Luke's gospel because Luke, he didn't write his
[9:23] Speaker 1: gospel to a Jewish audience. He actually wrote it to Gentiles.
[9:27] Speaker 1: He wrote it to gentiles, the people that didn't grow
[9:30] Speaker 1: up learning about God. And one of the things that
[9:33] Speaker 1: he does is is he wants you to know, like
[9:36] Speaker 1: Jesus has all power and authority, that the rumors you've
[9:39] Speaker 1: heard about him, they're true, the murmurs that were going around,
[9:42] Speaker 1: they're true. And one of the ways he does this
[9:44] Speaker 1: is he takes time to be of the show when
[9:45] Speaker 1: Jesus speaks and things happen, like in Luke. You see
[9:50] Speaker 1: this in Luke chapter four, that he comes into the synagogue.
[9:54] Speaker 1: There's a man that's possessed with the impure spirit, and
[9:58] Speaker 1: Jesus speaks to that demon, til them to come out
[10:00] Speaker 1: of this man, and immediately he comes out of him.
[10:03] Speaker 1: And when you go to Luke chapter four, verse thirty six,
[10:05] Speaker 1: look over the people say they said. All the people
[10:07] Speaker 1: were amazed and said to each other, what words are these?
[10:11] Speaker 1: With authority and power, he gives orders to impure spirits
[10:15] Speaker 1: and they come out. Jesus heals Peter's mother in law.
[10:21] Speaker 1: She had this fever that wouldn't break, and Jesus takes
[10:25] Speaker 1: a moment and he speaks to her and she's healed.
[10:28] Speaker 1: In an instant. You see Jesus has authority. Then when
[10:33] Speaker 1: you get to this storm in Luke, chapter eight, Jesus
[10:36] Speaker 1: asleep in the bottom of a boat, wind and waves
[10:39] Speaker 1: are blowing from left to right, and they're overwhelm. They're scared.
[10:42] Speaker 1: Jesus steps to the tip of the boat with all
[10:45] Speaker 1: power and authority and says to the wind, peace be still,
[10:50] Speaker 1: because he has oh authority. You get to Jyrus's daughter, Hallelujah,
[10:56] Speaker 1: thank you Jesus, this little girl that had lost her life.
[11:00] Speaker 1: Jesus closes the door behind him, says, child, my child,
[11:04] Speaker 1: arise and she gets up because Jesus has authority. Jesus
[11:11] Speaker 1: speaks to demons and they obey because Jesus has authority
[11:14] Speaker 1: over every demonic force that could ever come against you.
[11:18] Speaker 1: Jesus speaks in sickness has to obey because Jesus has
[11:22] Speaker 1: authority over every virus or illness that could ever attack
[11:26] Speaker 1: your body. Jesus speaks in the wind and waves have
[11:29] Speaker 1: to obey because Jesus has authority over every element that
[11:34] Speaker 1: could create a storm in your life. Jesus speaks in
[11:38] Speaker 1: death obeys because he rose with all power and authority,
[11:42] Speaker 1: and he has authority over death, hell and the grave.
[11:48] Speaker 1: My God has authority. My God has authority. But I
[11:58] Speaker 1: set you up. He comes to the sucker punch. Why
[12:05] Speaker 1: is it that demons? Oh, big God, and you and
[12:07] Speaker 1: I we struggle with disobedience. I said, we demons, okay,
[12:22] Speaker 1: God wind and waves obey God. But you and I
[12:27] Speaker 1: struggle was obeying the voice of God. It's been like
[12:34] Speaker 1: this since the beginning. Adam and Eve, y'all had one job.
[12:42] Speaker 1: One tree, Moses. I've called you to deliver the children
[12:53] Speaker 1: of Israel out of Egyptian slavery. I don't speak, well,
[13:00] Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not the one Shonah. I need you
[13:09] Speaker 1: to go to Nineveh, Nineveh. I'm going to Tarsus. There's
[13:20] Speaker 1: this one passage where Jesus heals this man with leprosy
[13:24] Speaker 1: and he tells him, He tells him he's heals them,
[13:25] Speaker 1: and he says, hey, listen, don't tell anybody about this.
[13:30] Speaker 1: Don't tell anybody about this, okay. Because Jesus knew that
[13:33] Speaker 1: the moment words started to spread that they were going
[13:35] Speaker 1: to try to kill him, he knew that this was coming.
[13:38] Speaker 1: And so look at this in Mark chapter one, verse
[13:40] Speaker 1: forty three. This this happened cracking up. Jesus went him
[13:43] Speaker 1: and said, once with a strong warning, see that you
[13:47] Speaker 1: don't tell this to anyone, but go show yourself to
[13:51] Speaker 1: the priests and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for
[13:55] Speaker 1: your cleansing as a testimony to them forty five. Instead,
[14:01] Speaker 1: he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news.
[14:06] Speaker 1: As a result, Jesus can no longer enter it out openly,
[14:10] Speaker 1: but stayed outside in lonely places. The more that I
[14:16] Speaker 1: wrestled with this text, I realized that many of us
[14:19] Speaker 1: we've surrendered our lives to Jesus, but we're struggling with
[14:24] Speaker 1: submitting to his authority. Today. My plea to you is
[14:32] Speaker 1: to go under the authority of God. You want his love,
[14:38] Speaker 1: but you reject his wisdom. He didn't just want to
[14:44] Speaker 1: save you. He wants to lead you. He wants to
[14:46] Speaker 1: guide you. And so today I wanted to slow down
[14:48] Speaker 1: for a moment and just charge you, in this season
[14:51] Speaker 1: of your life, to make a decision and say, I'm
[14:54] Speaker 1: going to obey the voice of God. I'm gonna do
[14:57] Speaker 1: what he said to do now, just for a moment.
[15:01] Speaker 1: There may be someone in the room that's like, hey,
[15:04] Speaker 1: I've never heard God speak to me. I don't even
[15:08] Speaker 1: know what you mean when you say that. I heard
[15:10] Speaker 1: a pastor say this once. I'm gonna try to give
[15:12] Speaker 1: this to you really quick about hearing the voice of God,
[15:15] Speaker 1: just for a moment, because I think it'll help you
[15:17] Speaker 1: in this journey. We know that God is in three persons,
[15:20] Speaker 1: God the Father, God the Son, and the Spirit. Right
[15:23] Speaker 1: all right, and we know this. We know this in
[15:25] Speaker 1: John chapter one it says, in the beginning was the
[15:29] Speaker 1: and the Word was with God and the Word. So
[15:32] Speaker 1: when I open up my Bible, I am interacting with
[15:35] Speaker 1: God the Father. He wants to speak to you. So
[15:40] Speaker 1: you can't just come to church on Sunday and that's
[15:42] Speaker 1: the only time you talk to him. Open up your
[15:45] Speaker 1: Bible on Monday, open up your Bible on Tuesday, figure
[15:48] Speaker 1: out a Bible reading plan, find them something, or I'm
[15:51] Speaker 1: just open up them to spend time with them. The
[15:54] Speaker 1: second thing is is it says the Word became flesh
[15:58] Speaker 1: and dwelt among God will use Jesus in the flesh
[16:05] Speaker 1: with someone around you to speak to you. You've ever
[16:09] Speaker 1: been thinking about something and five people came and start
[16:12] Speaker 1: talking about it, and you're like, what are you doing?
[16:15] Speaker 1: How did you know? How did you know that you
[16:17] Speaker 1: ever showed up on a Sunday morning pastors preaching like
[16:20] Speaker 1: he's been following following me. What is going on? I
[16:25] Speaker 1: can't get it. God will use Jesus to speak through
[16:28] Speaker 1: someone in the flesh to confirm what he wants to
[16:31] Speaker 1: speak to you. Unless we have the Holy Spirit that
[16:34] Speaker 1: dwells inside of you, this is still small voice. There's
[16:38] Speaker 1: sometimes that that the Holy Spirit gives me just a
[16:41] Speaker 1: supernatural peace that I know, I know on where I'm
[16:44] Speaker 1: supposed to be. And then sometimes there's just an unsettledness
[16:48] Speaker 1: that will make me feel like I gotta move, something's changing,
[16:51] Speaker 1: something shifting. So the only way that you get more
[16:55] Speaker 1: and more sensitive to this is to spend more time
[16:58] Speaker 1: with him. So I just wanted to take a moment
[17:01] Speaker 1: to help someone that maybe is struggling, But like, how
[17:03] Speaker 1: do I hear God's voice, read his word? Get into
[17:06] Speaker 1: a community where God could speak to some people and
[17:10] Speaker 1: have some time where you're silent, where the Holy Spirit
[17:13] Speaker 1: could give you peace, could make you restless, could make
[17:17] Speaker 1: you move, could comfort you. There's a lot of things
[17:21] Speaker 1: you know to do, you just haven't done you love
[17:25] Speaker 1: your neighbor. You don't have to pray about that. You
[17:32] Speaker 1: don't have to. It's it's in the book. It's in
[17:34] Speaker 1: the books. That's the God, the Father talking. That's it.
[17:38] Speaker 1: He has all authority. And so let's go for a
[17:41] Speaker 1: moment and talk about what it means to go under
[17:44] Speaker 1: the authority of God. The first thing you have to
[17:46] Speaker 1: do write this down is you have to go under control,
[17:51] Speaker 1: under control. Need a cup of water if somebody can
[17:56] Speaker 1: get me a water under control. As I was thinking
[18:03] Speaker 1: about this, I realized once I wrote down the word control,
[18:05] Speaker 1: many of you would have got mad. She's like, I'm
[18:08] Speaker 1: a grown man, I'm a grown woman. Ain't nobody controlling me.
[18:23] Speaker 1: I do what I want to do. I go where
[18:26] Speaker 1: I want to go. You see. I love the series.
[18:29] Speaker 1: It was See King Jesus and when we talk about kings,
[18:35] Speaker 1: king's rule, territory, and when you made a decision to
[18:39] Speaker 1: give your life to Jesus, your life became his jurisdiction.
[18:45] Speaker 1: And this is you making a decision to say I
[18:48] Speaker 1: am now under the control of King Jesus. But here's
[18:54] Speaker 1: the thing that I know to be true, is that
[18:56] Speaker 1: some of you need to renew your relationship with authority.
[19:02] Speaker 1: That when I say control, when I say authority, your
[19:05] Speaker 1: mind goes back. If you're from some generation to when
[19:08] Speaker 1: you went out and had to go get a switch,
[19:12] Speaker 1: that's where your mind goes. That's where your mind goes.
[19:15] Speaker 1: Or you know this, A hardhead means a you see
[19:21] Speaker 1: you see what I mean. You need to renew your
[19:24] Speaker 1: relationship with authority, because here's what I know to be true.
[19:28] Speaker 1: If you see authority through the lens of anger, your
[19:32] Speaker 1: relationship with God will be driven by fear. If you
[19:38] Speaker 1: see authority through the lens of anger, your relationship with
[19:42] Speaker 1: God will be driven by fear. Let's go back to
[19:45] Speaker 1: the text, because I don't see anger in the text.
[19:49] Speaker 1: This centurion general is giving a picture of what the
[19:55] Speaker 1: authority of God really looks like. Go to first one.
[19:58] Speaker 1: It says, when Jesus had finished saying all of this
[20:00] Speaker 1: to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum. They're
[20:04] Speaker 1: a centurion servant. Watch this, whom his master valued highly
[20:12] Speaker 1: was sick. Whom is master valued highly? The master values
[20:18] Speaker 1: you highly. I went and looked up that phrase, and
[20:22] Speaker 1: it's a phrase and Intomost Intomost, Intomost held in high honor,
[20:27] Speaker 1: prized and precious. You see, I don't see anger in
[20:33] Speaker 1: this authority. I see love. When you see authority through
[20:38] Speaker 1: the lens of anger, your relationship will be driven by fear.
[20:43] Speaker 1: But if you see authority through the lens of love,
[20:46] Speaker 1: your relationship will be driven by appreciation. You'll say, thank
[20:50] Speaker 1: you God for your word over my life, thank you
[20:54] Speaker 1: for correcting me, thank you for challenging me. Can I
[20:58] Speaker 1: talk to the students for a moment. Your parents, grandparents, whoever,
[21:02] Speaker 1: they love you, Your youth leaders, they love you when
[21:05] Speaker 1: they correct you don't see it. They're just mad at me.
[21:08] Speaker 1: They're just hating negative aura. No no no no no
[21:12] Speaker 1: no no no no no no no no, no, no no no.
[21:15] Speaker 1: What if you saw it through the lens of love.
[21:18] Speaker 1: They're challenging me because they want the best for me.
[21:22] Speaker 1: They're raising their voice because they're like, no, stop that,
[21:24] Speaker 1: because it's hurting you. Turn. This is where you need
[21:31] Speaker 1: to go. I talked to the youth, but y'all needed
[21:35] Speaker 1: it too, So you make a decision to go under
[21:43] Speaker 1: the control of God. And just to give you a
[21:47] Speaker 1: little illustration, my boys are fourteen years old now and
[21:51] Speaker 1: we are in this season of starting to think about
[21:54] Speaker 1: what it means to get learners permit and start to drive.
[21:58] Speaker 1: I need you to pray for us. I need you
[22:00] Speaker 1: to I need I need you speak in tongues. I
[22:02] Speaker 1: need you to go to the Holy Place for us.
[22:05] Speaker 1: Can you do that for one of your pastors here
[22:08] Speaker 1: at the church? Okay? So we took the boys out
[22:12] Speaker 1: to drive for the first time in the church parking lot. Uh.
[22:15] Speaker 1: If you've had that experience, wave your hand at me. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
[22:21] Speaker 1: Now we get in the car. We get in the car,

[26:07] Speaker 1: this he says, for I myself am a man under
[26:12] Speaker 1: authority with soldiers under me. I tell this one go
[26:16] Speaker 1: and he goes. I tell that when come, and he comes.
[26:20] Speaker 1: I say to my servant, do this, and he does it.
[26:23] Speaker 1: Did you see the cadence? No back and forth? I
[26:28] Speaker 1: say this one go, I say this one come, I
[26:36] Speaker 1: say this one, do this. He does it. God tell
[26:40] Speaker 1: us go where who's gonna be there? What time do
[26:50] Speaker 1: I come home? Because you know I'm drive at night
[26:58] Speaker 1: just for the sake of some levity. I wanted you
[27:00] Speaker 1: to see how we we reject his commands, but we
[27:07] Speaker 1: love his covering. The more that I walk with God,
[27:14] Speaker 1: I realize they go together. I can't have his covering

[27:28] Speaker 1: and we reject his wisdom. We made a decision to
[27:32] Speaker 1: surrender God. I'll give my life to you, but I

[27:42] Speaker 1: covering was in the command. The covering was in his word.
[27:48] Speaker 1: The covering the protection that you needed was in you
[27:51] Speaker 1: being obedient to what God told you to do. Another
[27:58] Speaker 1: illustration for you. I just want this stick. I want
[28:00] Speaker 1: you to remember it. This week I was thinking about
[28:05] Speaker 1: about cha Chase. She she's she's on our leadership team
[28:08] Speaker 1: and helps lead so much with the worship team. And
[28:11] Speaker 1: she she drives a jeep, And I had this picture
[28:15] Speaker 1: in my mind of like, Chay's amazing. She keeps us
[28:19] Speaker 1: together on a lot of different things with communication. She's
[28:22] Speaker 1: she's brilliant. She's so brilliant, I would have thought she
[28:26] Speaker 1: lost her mind if this was her. Imagine there is
[28:30] Speaker 1: a hellstorm. There's a hellstorm, and Shane's driving her jeep
[28:38] Speaker 1: with the top down, windows down, and I'm talking a hellstorm.
[28:44] Speaker 1: And I just had in my mind Shane driving down
[28:48] Speaker 1: the street with her jeep just getting hitting the head
[28:52] Speaker 1: with helstones. I had in my mind, you know, the
[28:58] Speaker 1: the rear mirror, just getting crab with hell. I had
[29:01] Speaker 1: in my mind the interior of the car but getting
[29:04] Speaker 1: a disaster. And I had in my mind, I'm like,
[29:06] Speaker 1: that's what some of our lives look like. We're riding
[29:10] Speaker 1: around elements is tearing up our lives when we had
[29:13] Speaker 1: an opportunity to be covered. What would it look like
[29:18] Speaker 1: for me to say, I'm not living my life exposed
[29:21] Speaker 1: to the elements. I'm not living my life out here now.
[29:24] Speaker 1: I'm not saying win won't come. I'm not saying rain
[29:26] Speaker 1: won't come. I'm just saying I'm covered. I'm covered. Tell
[29:34] Speaker 1: your neighbors say I'm covered. I'm covered. I feel God
[29:37] Speaker 1: on that I'm covered by the blood of God. I'm covered.
[29:41] Speaker 1: My family's covered. Hallelujah, Thank you Jesus. Because I've made
[29:44] Speaker 1: a decision to follow them. My kids won't experience the
[29:49] Speaker 1: same pain that I experience because I'm covered. Is there
[29:55] Speaker 1: anybody that would take a minute to say, I thank
[29:58] Speaker 1: God for covering me. I didn't do everything right, but
[30:02] Speaker 1: he covered me. I'm not stuck. Time and time again,

[31:05] Speaker 1: to this Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I don't deserve
[31:09] Speaker 1: you to have to have you come under my roof.
[31:14] Speaker 1: That is why I did not consider myself worthy to
[31:17] Speaker 1: come out to you. But say the word, and my
[31:20] Speaker 1: servant will be healed. For I myself and a man
[31:23] Speaker 1: under authority. He said this. He says, you don't have
[31:26] Speaker 1: to come under my roof, because everything under my roof
[31:30] Speaker 1: is under your authority. So we said, that's what he said.
[31:34] Speaker 1: You don't have to come under my roof. Just say
[31:37] Speaker 1: the word, because everything under my roof is under your authority.
[31:42] Speaker 1: Remember earlier I said Jesus had said all of this.
[31:46] Speaker 1: He said all of this, and I was like the
[31:48] Speaker 1: nosy people? Was he? What was he saying? Well, we're
[31:51] Speaker 1: gonna go back now to see the context of this.
[31:54] Speaker 1: I really believe it's gonna bless you, because watch what
[31:58] Speaker 1: Jesus just got finished saying. Watch what Jesus just got
[32:01] Speaker 1: finished That This is Luke chapter six, verse forty six.
[32:05] Speaker 1: Why do you call me lord lord? And do not
[32:07] Speaker 1: do what I say? Right like, right before he's teaching,
[32:17] Speaker 1: gets done teaching, walks up. Then he meets the centurion.
[32:22] Speaker 1: Why do you call me lord lord? And do not
[32:25] Speaker 1: do what I say? As for everyone who comes to
[32:28] Speaker 1: me and here's my words and puts them into practice,
[32:31] Speaker 1: I will show you what they are like. They are
[32:34] Speaker 1: like a man building a house who dug down deep
[32:37] Speaker 1: and laid the rock on a foundation, the foundation on
[32:40] Speaker 1: a rock. When a flood came and the torn struck
[32:43] Speaker 1: that house, but could not shake it because it was
[32:47] Speaker 1: well built. I want a life that's well built. I
[32:56] Speaker 1: want a life that's well built. I want a marriage
[32:59] Speaker 1: that's well built. I want a ministry that's well beaten.
[33:02] Speaker 1: Can we thank God for the church that God is
[33:05] Speaker 1: building in his place? He is building his house. I
[33:09] Speaker 1: love it. Pastor told us, he said, the blessing of
[33:13] Speaker 1: our church isn't because of how talented we are, Is
[33:16] Speaker 1: it because? No? No, no, it was because we were obedient.
[33:20] Speaker 1: We were crazy enough to do the things that God
[33:23] Speaker 1: said do Scared trembling, I want a life that's well built.
[33:30] Speaker 1: But then he says in verse forty nine, but the
[33:32] Speaker 1: one who hears my words and does not put them
[33:36] Speaker 1: into practice, It's like a man who built the house
[33:39] Speaker 1: on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torn
[33:44] Speaker 1: struck that house, it collapse and its destruction was complete.
[33:51] Speaker 1: Another way of saying it's destruction was complete, it's saying
[33:57] Speaker 1: it went under. Instruction of the business was complete. It
[34:02] Speaker 1: went bankrupt, lost it, all, the experience went under. Here's
[34:11] Speaker 1: the thing that I want to encourage you with, is
[34:14] Speaker 1: I thank God that we see a picture of King
[34:17] Speaker 1: Jesus not only speaking, but we see him being a carpenter.
[34:21] Speaker 1: So even though there's some damage that may has occurred,
[34:25] Speaker 1: I thank God that my life because I'm under his authority,
[34:28] Speaker 1: I'm under construction. He knows how to put some pieces
[34:32] Speaker 1: back together. He knows how to fix what was broken.
[34:36] Speaker 1: He knows hows to mend those places that only he
[34:39] Speaker 1: knows that's hurting you. I want to thank God that
[34:42] Speaker 1: because I'm under his authority, his skilled hand has the
[34:50] Speaker 1: ability to put some walls up that need to go up,
[34:55] Speaker 1: to tear some walls down that need to come down,
[34:59] Speaker 1: to be able to make sure that my life will
[35:01] Speaker 1: be built on the foundation it would last. I want
[35:08] Speaker 1: you to make a decision today. See, I'm gonna go
[35:12] Speaker 1: under the authority of God. I'm gonna make a decision
[35:17] Speaker 1: today to put my faith in Jesus. Then no longer
[35:23] Speaker 1: Well I hear words that come from God, and I
[35:27] Speaker 1: just do it my own way, do it in my
[35:30] Speaker 1: own strength, do it in my own ability. I love.
[35:35] Speaker 1: If everybody could stand on your feet. Many of us
[35:48] Speaker 1: in the room have made a decision to give our
[35:52] Speaker 1: lives to Jesus. We've surrendered to him. We believe in
[35:59] Speaker 1: our heart that Jesus is the son of God, and
[36:02] Speaker 1: we've confessed with our mouth that God raised him from
[36:05] Speaker 1: the dead. We've surrendered many of us right now in
[36:10] Speaker 1: this moment. There's a step of obedience that we need
[36:13] Speaker 1: to take. For some, it might be getting baptized at
[36:17] Speaker 1: one of our locations today next week will be in Houston.
[36:23] Speaker 1: If you want to get baptized in Houston, go to

[36:28] Speaker 1: step of obedience, you know, to let everybody know I
[36:32] Speaker 1: belong to Jesus. I don't know what it is for you.
[36:37] Speaker 1: Maybe for some, maybe it's a husband in the room.
[36:38] Speaker 1: You need to go apologize to your wife. He's already
[36:41] Speaker 1: told you to do it. He's like, none of all.
[36:53] Speaker 1: I want to take a moment just to pray for you.
[36:55] Speaker 1: Pray for you by your close your eyes. There's a
[37:01] Speaker 1: step of obedience there. God has spoken. You know you
[37:04] Speaker 1: need to take this step. You know you need to
[37:06] Speaker 1: take this step. It might be something so simple phone call.
[37:12] Speaker 1: You need to make shift. You need to make you know,
[37:17] Speaker 1: like you've been stressed about your finances and you've been
[37:22] Speaker 1: hearing about all of these community groups and there's some
[37:26] Speaker 1: people that can help you put your budget together, but
[37:28] Speaker 1: you've been pushing it off. There's a step you need
[37:31] Speaker 1: to take. I won't got to speak to you just
[37:34] Speaker 1: in this soft still moment, maybe the Holy Spirit bring
[37:38] Speaker 1: something up. I just want to pray for you that
[37:42] Speaker 1: you would have the ability to be obedient. So God,
[37:46] Speaker 1: I'll come to you sin. Thank you for your sons
[37:48] Speaker 1: and daughters here in the room and all of our
[37:51] Speaker 1: campuses online today there's something you've spoken. Shift to move well,
[38:00] Speaker 1: maybe stay still. God, I pray right now that you
[38:05] Speaker 1: give them confidence in boldness to do what you said
[38:10] Speaker 1: to do, so that they could experience what it's like
[38:14] Speaker 1: being under your authority, under your control, under your cover,
[38:24] Speaker 1: under your construction, so our lives would be well built.
[38:31] Speaker 1: And I pray that even if they're shame in the
[38:33] Speaker 1: room that they pushed off decisions for years, we rebuke
[38:36] Speaker 1: that in the name of Jesus. Today's a new day.
[38:42] Speaker 1: The day's a day that we can turn. Just move now.
[38:47] Speaker 1: We love you. Thank you this in Jesus name. I
[38:50] Speaker 1: pray Amen. Now there's one more prayer that I have
[38:58] Speaker 1: to do, because there may be someone in the room
[39:02] Speaker 1: that you've never surrendered your life to Christ. You've never
[39:08] Speaker 1: taken that step. You've never said God, in my life
[39:11] Speaker 1: is yours? I will say, it's whoever believes in their
[39:15] Speaker 1: heart that Jesus is the son of God and confesses
[39:19] Speaker 1: with their mouth that God raised them from the dead.
[39:21] Speaker 1: You will be saved. So all he had bout all
[39:25] Speaker 1: ours close. We're gonna say a prayer together. This is
[39:29] Speaker 1: a prayer of salvation. This is a prayer of surrender
[39:33] Speaker 1: for the benefit of those that are coming to God.
[39:35] Speaker 1: Some this is the first time, and then some of
[39:38] Speaker 1: you you're coming back home. We're gonna say this prayer
[39:42] Speaker 1: together so they don't have to say it alone. Repeat
[39:45] Speaker 1: it after me saying I believe that Jesus Christ is
