[0:04] Speaker 1: Hey, this is Stephen Ferdick.
[0:06] Speaker 2: I'm the pastor of Elevation Church and this is our podcast.
[0:09] Speaker 2: Be sure to subscribe so we can get you these
[0:11] Speaker 2: new sermons every week.
[0:13] Speaker 1: I hope you're blessed today.
[0:21] Speaker 3: Right now, join hands with the person next to you.
[0:23] Speaker 3: If you're watching this in your home, grab somebody and
[0:26] Speaker 3: snatch them and say, pray with me and speak this
[0:30] Speaker 3: out loud.
[0:30] Speaker 1: Say in the name of Jesus, the Savior of.
[0:34] Speaker 3: The world, all things are possible, every need is met,
[0:42] Speaker 3: every sin can be forgiven.
[0:46] Speaker 1: His blood is enough.
[0:49] Speaker 3: Hallelujah, Thank you Jesus, Glory to God.
[0:52] Speaker 1: Bless your name.
[0:53] Speaker 2: Lord.
[1:02] Speaker 1: I believe in you, Lord.
[1:07] Speaker 4: I've seen you move in my life. I've seen you
[1:12] Speaker 4: change in possible situations. I've seen you in the fire.
[1:22] Speaker 3: I've felt your hand and heard your voice on raging waters.
[1:27] Speaker 1: I come to you.
[1:28] Speaker 3: Now because there may be somebody today who needs a
[1:33] Speaker 3: word from you, something that only you know about, something
[1:37] Speaker 3: that only you can fix, something that only your grace
[1:41] Speaker 3: can cover. And maybe, just maybe, Lord, that you would
[1:47] Speaker 3: use this time in your presence, whether they're in the
[1:50] Speaker 3: building or whether they're watching online. It really doesn't matter
[1:54] Speaker 3: to you. You can reach anywhere, and you can touch anyone.
[1:58] Speaker 3: You can do anything. There's nothing too hard for you.
[2:02] Speaker 3: And it may just be God of all creation, our redeemer,
[2:08] Speaker 3: that you would reach through eternity into time and snatch
[2:13] Speaker 3: somebody off.
[2:14] Speaker 1: The bad path.
[2:15] Speaker 3: It may just be that you would reach from eternity
[2:18] Speaker 3: into time and turn somebody back toward home. It may
[2:22] Speaker 3: just be that you would call their name. Today, you
[2:25] Speaker 3: called Lazarus name, and by all accounts, he had no
[2:30] Speaker 3: business getting up and running, because he had been dead
[2:33] Speaker 3: four days. But when you said his name, his legs
[2:36] Speaker 3: started pumping, his.
[2:39] Speaker 1: Heart started working, and he started running.
[2:43] Speaker 3: Father, today, would you do that kind of thing in
[2:45] Speaker 3: this place? Physically, emotionally, spiritually. We surrender this time to you,
[2:54] Speaker 3: and I thank you.
[2:54] Speaker 1: For your word.
[2:56] Speaker 3: Isaiah fifty five says that it never returns. It accomplishes
[3:01] Speaker 3: the purpose that you sent it to do. I believe
[3:04] Speaker 3: your word is going to work today.
[3:06] Speaker 1: And I give you praise because it's already done. In
[3:10] Speaker 1: Jesus name.
[3:11] Speaker 3: I pray and we love you, Lord, and we're not
[3:14] Speaker 3: ashamed to be seen praising you.
[3:17] Speaker 1: You did it all for us. Come on, let's give
[3:20] Speaker 1: God a great praise. Hey, everybody, on life.
[3:24] Speaker 3: I told them to give God a great praise, but
[3:27] Speaker 3: they gave them a halfway praise. So I'm gonna give
[3:29] Speaker 3: you a chance give your God a.
[3:35] Speaker 1: Great praise. It's a great day to be alive. I
[3:42] Speaker 1: was glad when.
[3:43] Speaker 3: They said, unto me, let us go to the House
[3:46] Speaker 3: of the Lord. I was sad when they said, unto me,
[3:49] Speaker 3: we're having snow again, and I thought, we gotta find
[3:53] Speaker 3: a way to get the word out to the people
[3:56] Speaker 3: once again. And so for the second week in a row,
[4:01] Speaker 3: we got here a little early. We rounded up all
[4:04] Speaker 3: of the people who are gonna be the first ones
[4:06] Speaker 3: taken in the rapture, and we're here today to minister
[4:10] Speaker 3: the word of God to you. Somebody put it in
[4:14] Speaker 3: the chest, say this one's for me, high five twelve
[4:18] Speaker 3: people say.
[4:19] Speaker 1: It's for you too. Praise the Lord. God is good.
[4:29] Speaker 3: Everybody who's grateful to be here, makes some noise and
[4:32] Speaker 3: thank the Lord. If you are watching online and you
[4:44] Speaker 3: regularly attend one of our campuses, I expect your butt
[4:46] Speaker 3: back in church next week. We're celebrating two decades of
[4:51] Speaker 3: dividing miracles sent.
[4:54] Speaker 1: The faithfulness of Almighty God.
[4:58] Speaker 3: You're not gonna take me back twenty twenty and put
[5:00] Speaker 3: me in an empty room for six months.
[5:02] Speaker 1: I'm not doing it. I'm excited about that.
[5:05] Speaker 3: Also, we'll have the best opportunity to gather with those
[5:09] Speaker 3: around the country who are part of our EFAM for
[5:11] Speaker 3: Elevation Night's tour is coming quickly.
[5:15] Speaker 1: I want you to get your tickets right now. Go
[5:17] Speaker 1: to Elevation Nights dot com.
[5:19] Speaker 3: Hershey, Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, New York, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids.
[5:25] Speaker 1: It'd be nice and warm there.
[5:27] Speaker 3: Knoxville, Tennessee, Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois.
[5:32] Speaker 1: February twenty four through.
[5:33] Speaker 3: March fifth, Elevation Nights dot com. We also want to
[5:38] Speaker 3: celebrate our Orlando campus. We envy your weather, and we
[5:43] Speaker 3: celebrate your ministry.
[5:45] Speaker 1: Six years. Let's give it up for Elevation Orlando. I
[5:55] Speaker 1: believe I'll preach now.
[5:58] Speaker 3: That's the part where y'all are supposed to get so
[6:00] Speaker 3: excited that it's just like electrum. Last week, my message
[6:10] Speaker 3: was it's worth the dirt, and it is. It's in
[6:16] Speaker 3: the unseen places of our life that God does the
[6:19] Speaker 3: greatest work. And sometimes the messiest moments are the most
[6:23] Speaker 3: magnificent and the most miraculous. Today, I want to share
[6:28] Speaker 3: with you from a foundational scripture in Matthew chapter seven.
[6:31] Speaker 3: You'll see why I call it a foundational scripture in
[6:33] Speaker 3: just a moment Matthew Chapter seven, verses twenty four through
[6:37] Speaker 3: twenty nine. To be specific, full disclosure. I was not
[6:42] Speaker 3: ready to preach yet. I got a phone call from
[6:48] Speaker 3: our chief of staff here at the church, who said,
[6:50] Speaker 3: if we want to preach, it's going to need to
[6:51] Speaker 3: be tomorrow.
[6:53] Speaker 1: It might not be safe, or we might not be
[6:54] Speaker 1: able to do it after that.
[6:57] Speaker 3: And so I told the Lord already to preach. You
[7:03] Speaker 3: and I both know that I had.
[7:05] Speaker 1: Set aside the next few days to study.
[7:09] Speaker 3: And Lord, since you do rule the universe, could you
[7:14] Speaker 3: move the weather that's going to be bad to the
[7:17] Speaker 3: days where we're not gathering in your name? Are we
[7:20] Speaker 3: not on the same theme here? Of course, I understand
[7:24] Speaker 3: that there are far more pressing issues to the Lord
[7:27] Speaker 3: than when my study day is.
[7:28] Speaker 1: But I was praying like.
[7:29] Speaker 3: That, and he gave me my message title while I
[7:35] Speaker 3: was praying about my message and the title that I
[7:38] Speaker 3: want to use for this message, and I actually want
[7:41] Speaker 3: you to say it to your neighbor.
[7:42] Speaker 1: Look at them and say you are more.
[7:45] Speaker 3: Ready than you recognize.
[7:50] Speaker 1: You're more ready than you recognize.
[7:55] Speaker 3: And then the Lord said, you've already got your scripture.
[7:58] Speaker 1: I said I do.
[7:58] Speaker 3: He said, yeah, you member, because you've been preaching it
[8:01] Speaker 3: since you were sixteen.
[8:03] Speaker 1: Matthew, Chapter seven, verse twenty four.
[8:05] Speaker 3: Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mind and puts
[8:07] Speaker 3: them into practice like a wise man who.
[8:09] Speaker 1: Built his house on the rock.
[8:11] Speaker 3: The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds
[8:13] Speaker 3: blew and beat against that house.
[8:14] Speaker 1: Yet it did not.
[8:16] Speaker 3: Fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But
[8:23] Speaker 3: everyone who hears these words of mind and does not
[8:25] Speaker 3: put them into practice is like a foolish man who
[8:27] Speaker 3: built his house on the sand. The rain came down,
[8:30] Speaker 3: the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that.
[8:33] Speaker 1: House, and it fell with a great crash.
[8:35] Speaker 3: When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were
[8:39] Speaker 3: amazed at his teaching, because he taught as.
[8:44] Speaker 1: One who had authority, and not as one of their
[8:47] Speaker 1: teachers of the law. Verse twenty five is my assignment.
[8:51] Speaker 3: The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds
[8:55] Speaker 3: blew and.
[8:56] Speaker 1: Beat against that house, yet.
[9:01] Speaker 3: Did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock.
[9:06] Speaker 3: So now tell your other neighbor. Tell me you're more
[9:09] Speaker 3: ready than you recognize. You may be seated in the
[9:14] Speaker 3: presence of the Lord. You're more ready than you recognize.
[9:24] Speaker 3: As I consider the memories of ministry that I've experienced
[9:28] Speaker 3: from my vantage point over the last twenty years, one
[9:31] Speaker 3: stands out that surprises me the most. Everywhere that I
[9:36] Speaker 3: go to minister God's Word, when I meet people, they
[9:39] Speaker 3: tell me a different report of how this ministry has
[9:41] Speaker 3: touched their life. I live for those moments.
[9:45] Speaker 1: You know.
[9:45] Speaker 3: It's one thing to write a book, write a song,
[9:47] Speaker 3: or preach a sermon. It's another thing to get to
[9:51] Speaker 3: speak with someone that that word touched personally. That's a
[9:55] Speaker 3: beautiful thing. Sometimes people start crying. Sometimes people apologize. They say,
[10:02] Speaker 3: I hadn't been to church in three years, but I
[10:04] Speaker 3: used to really like it over there at Elevation. And
[10:07] Speaker 3: I always tell them you know where to find me
[10:09] Speaker 3: when you need me. There's one thing that I've heard
[10:13] Speaker 3: over and over again over the past five years that
[10:16] Speaker 3: may surprise you as well. And I'm still hearing it,
[10:19] Speaker 3: although I thought it would be over by now, Just
[10:21] Speaker 3: over and over again. People will say thank you for
[10:25] Speaker 3: your ministry. Your church got us through COVID as a family.
[10:29] Speaker 3: Your church got us through the pandemic as a family.
[10:32] Speaker 3: Your church got us through a very dark time in
[10:35] Speaker 3: that season as a family. The reason that surprises me
[10:40] Speaker 3: is because I've never felt less ready or prepared to
[10:44] Speaker 3: pastor than I did in that season. And the time
[10:48] Speaker 3: that represented the greatest test for me has resulted in
[10:52] Speaker 3: the most testimonies.
[10:55] Speaker 1: In this way.
[10:58] Speaker 3: So I remember the first sermon that we did, not
[11:01] Speaker 3: to bring you back into that timeframe, but just for
[11:04] Speaker 3: a minute, let's go there a little bit of a flashback,
[11:06] Speaker 3: perhaps to help us set the foundation for the message.
[11:09] Speaker 1: When we came in here in an empty room, you
[11:12] Speaker 1: were there. You were there. I love you so much.
[11:16] Speaker 1: You weren't there. Where were you? And you were there.
[11:19] Speaker 3: And I remember putting them on the stools and I
[11:20] Speaker 3: just said, I need to have some people that love
[11:22] Speaker 3: me behind me. And they did that, and we did that,
[11:26] Speaker 3: and LJ did that, and some of you did that.
[11:29] Speaker 3: But what's so amazing about it, and this is kind
[11:31] Speaker 3: of what I want to get across for your life,
[11:34] Speaker 3: is that just because I wasn't prepared doesn't mean that
[11:39] Speaker 3: God had not already provided.
[11:43] Speaker 1: And that's a very important principle that I want you
[11:46] Speaker 1: to get today.
[11:48] Speaker 3: Just because I'm not prepared doesn't mean God hasn't provided.
[11:54] Speaker 3: God can provide in a place.
[11:57] Speaker 1: Where you don't feel prepared.
[11:59] Speaker 3: I'm not telling you to apply that logic to your
[12:01] Speaker 3: ape chemistry test, but I am saying that when you
[12:05] Speaker 3: run up on the situations of your life that you
[12:08] Speaker 3: did not see coming, the storms that you didn't see coming,
[12:12] Speaker 3: or the storms that they say are coming that never
[12:15] Speaker 3: seemed to come.
[12:17] Speaker 1: And this would be a good.
[12:18] Speaker 3: Thing for us to preach about because Jesus said there
[12:21] Speaker 3: were storms that came upon these two different houses. Now understand,
[12:25] Speaker 3: when Jesus is teaching, he's teaching people who live in
[12:28] Speaker 3: a very dry, arid climate, and so when a storm
[12:32] Speaker 3: would come, it would come upon them suddenly. It could
[12:36] Speaker 3: change so quickly from a nice, warm day to an.
[12:40] Speaker 1: Absolute gully washer.
[12:42] Speaker 3: How you like that for a monk's corner South Carolina
[12:45] Speaker 3: vocabulary word, And it could happen so fast to a
[12:50] Speaker 3: crowd who was familiar with flash floods without the convenience
[12:53] Speaker 3: of a weather app or maybe we could say the
[12:56] Speaker 3: demon of a weather app because have you noticed that
[13:01] Speaker 3: sometimes all of the stuff that we do to get
[13:04] Speaker 3: ready for the storm is worse than the actual storm
[13:08] Speaker 3: is help me preach Southerners. Somehow we ended up with
[13:13] Speaker 3: seven dozen eggs in our house. And now what are
[13:16] Speaker 3: we going to do with this generator but to sit
[13:19] Speaker 3: on it and watch TV. Because there are two types
[13:22] Speaker 3: of people in the world, those who believe weathermen and
[13:26] Speaker 3: those who have intelligence.
[13:28] Speaker 1: Now I want to move on to my text.
[13:30] Speaker 3: Jesus said there were two men, one built on the rock,
[13:34] Speaker 3: one built on the sand, but both had storms. Repeat it,
[13:39] Speaker 3: both had storms, Thank you very much.
[13:42] Speaker 1: Put it in the chat. Both had storms.
[13:45] Speaker 3: Away from this Christianity that teaches you that to accept
[13:49] Speaker 3: Jesus Christ makes every element of your life better in
[13:52] Speaker 3: a temporal sense. It makes you stronger, It makes your
[13:56] Speaker 3: spirit bigger, it makes your lens wider. It may it's
[14:00] Speaker 3: your perseverance a little bit more dogged, but it does
[14:03] Speaker 3: not necessarily cause the rain to stop falling.
[14:06] Speaker 1: The Bible says that his sun rises and his.
[14:09] Speaker 3: Rainfalls on the wicked and the righteous. I came to
[14:13] Speaker 3: preach today. I didn't think I was ready, but the
[14:15] Speaker 3: Lord said, you're more ready than you recognize when I
[14:20] Speaker 3: preached this text at age sixteen. I remember after I
[14:23] Speaker 3: got done preaching it, Jody Pastor Mickey was out there
[14:26] Speaker 3: and he's about sixty five and I was sixteen, and
[14:29] Speaker 3: I got up and preached a message. Can you believe
[14:31] Speaker 3: this as a sixteen year old about the.
[14:33] Speaker 1: Storms of life? What storms? At sixteen?
[14:40] Speaker 3: Could I possibly have felt so confident to minister about
[14:44] Speaker 3: I remember Pastor Mickey got up afterwards and he goes,
[14:47] Speaker 3: thanks Stephen for that message on storms, and he said
[14:53] Speaker 3: it like almost like it had air quotes around it,
[14:55] Speaker 3: like ironic air quotes around it. Thank you for that
[14:59] Speaker 3: perspective on the trials of life from the rugged experience
[15:07] Speaker 3: of a sixteen year old. And yet I believe that
[15:12] Speaker 3: regardless of the level that you experience, your storm on
[15:16] Speaker 3: your storm, your trial, your situation, mental health battle, your
[15:32] Speaker 3: relational drama, storm is on assignment in your life. Jesus
[15:42] Speaker 3: was teaching the crowds, and the Bible says that they
[15:44] Speaker 3: were amazed at his teaching. But remember he was also
[15:47] Speaker 3: teaching his disciples. And while he was teaching the crowds,
[15:53] Speaker 3: he was also training the disciples. There is a difference
[15:57] Speaker 3: between teaching and training. Teaching you get notes about storms. Training,
[16:06] Speaker 3: you get in the boat and go through one.
[16:11] Speaker 1: You see what I'm saying.
[16:13] Speaker 3: Teaching is we talk about the Greek word for patience.
[16:18] Speaker 3: Training is your family is coming to town next week. Teaching,
[16:25] Speaker 3: I'm gonna keep going till we hit the spot, because
[16:29] Speaker 3: teaching is you praying, Lord, make me more loving. Training
[16:36] Speaker 3: is God letting you have a hater so you can
[16:38] Speaker 3: practice turning the other cheek. Did you notice the word
[16:43] Speaker 3: Jesus said? He said, everyone who puts my words into practice.
[16:48] Speaker 1: Now, y'all, I wouldn't change a.
[16:49] Speaker 3: Bible verse, but if I could, I would say, therefore,
[16:52] Speaker 3: everyone who hears these words of mine and writes them
[16:55] Speaker 3: down in a notebook, Therefore, everyone who hears these words
[16:59] Speaker 3: of mine and posts them on.
[17:01] Speaker 1: Their social media account.
[17:03] Speaker 3: Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and quotes
[17:06] Speaker 3: them on a post it note in their mirror. But
[17:09] Speaker 3: Jesus didn't say that power comes from posting. Jesus didn't
[17:14] Speaker 3: even say that power comes from quoting.
[17:16] Speaker 5: Jesus said, the power is in the practice.
[17:21] Speaker 3: Everybody say practice, So in a sense, that's all this is.
[17:26] Speaker 1: Today.
[17:26] Speaker 3: When you lift your hands, you're practicing, You're practicing for
[17:30] Speaker 3: when you.
[17:31] Speaker 1: Need to give a situation to God this week.
[17:33] Speaker 3: You're practicing for when the sudden storms, the floods of life,
[17:38] Speaker 3: for when the rains come down, and the streams rise,
[17:41] Speaker 3: and the winds blow and beat against the house of.
[17:44] Speaker 1: Your heart and your life and your sanity.
[17:47] Speaker 3: You are practicing so that you will have muscle memory
[17:51] Speaker 3: and miracle memory to remember.
[17:53] Speaker 6: That God, who is above all, is able to hold
[17:57] Speaker 6: whatever is weighing you down. I want us to take
[18:00] Speaker 6: just about thirteen fourteen, fifteen seconds to practice praising God
[18:05] Speaker 6: in case we get in a storm this week that
[18:08] Speaker 6: we didn't see coming.
[18:12] Speaker 1: There you go.
[18:13] Speaker 3: You got ten seconds to practice.
[18:16] Speaker 1: You got eight seconds. Can I get some water?
[18:19] Speaker 3: Five seconds, four seconds, three seconds.
[18:25] Speaker 5: It's gonna be three long seconds while I drink.
[18:32] Speaker 3: So in the rain comes, just lift your hands like
[18:38] Speaker 3: an umbrella and saying, my fall, but I won't in
[18:44] Speaker 3: my come, but it can't stay. I'm practicing my praise.
[18:50] Speaker 1: In the presence of the Lord.
[18:54] Speaker 3: High five your neighbors say, I'm getting.
[18:55] Speaker 1: My practice here, my practice praise.
[18:59] Speaker 3: You never can't tell when the streams are gonna rise.
[19:03] Speaker 1: You're never gonna tell when.
[19:05] Speaker 3: The big bad wolf might puff and puff and try
[19:08] Speaker 3: to blow my house in. But this is not a
[19:11] Speaker 3: straw hut, baby, This is not a temporary trailer. This
[19:16] Speaker 3: is not a tin filled with human hands.
[19:19] Speaker 1: I talked, practice for that, praise the Lord.
[19:26] Speaker 3: So he said, everyone who hears these words of mine
[19:31] Speaker 3: and puts them into.
[19:35] Speaker 1: Practice, you got it. It's like a wise man who
[19:38] Speaker 1: built his house on the rock.
[19:41] Speaker 3: Okay, I want to say something to all of us
[19:47] Speaker 3: who constantly feel like the devil is attacking us, messing
[19:52] Speaker 3: with us, and sabotaging our lives. And I'm gonna prove
[19:57] Speaker 3: it to you from the scripture that I just read,
[20:00] Speaker 3: you will not.
[20:00] Speaker 1: Be arguing with me. You will be arguing with this
[20:03] Speaker 1: scripture if you read the scripture.
[20:06] Speaker 3: And this is Jesus's final summary of a sermon called
[20:10] Speaker 3: the Sermon on the Mountain. The reason that I memorized
[20:15] Speaker 3: parts of this is because it was my dad's favorite scripture.
[20:19] Speaker 3: And when he would sit around reading it, my mom
[20:20] Speaker 3: would you'd be mad at him. She'd say, it ain't
[20:23] Speaker 3: no good to read it if you don't practice at larry,
[20:29] Speaker 3: And then he'd say, you'll be judged for every idle
[20:32] Speaker 3: word faith.
[20:36] Speaker 1: Telling all my family business.
[20:38] Speaker 3: I told Yah, I didn't have enough time to edit
[20:40] Speaker 3: the sermon.
[20:41] Speaker 1: What do you want me to do? I would have.
[20:44] Speaker 3: Took that out if I would have had a little
[20:45] Speaker 3: more time. Now, this sermon talks about things that are countercultural.
[20:53] Speaker 3: Blessed to the poor and spirit for their kingdom of Heaven.
[20:55] Speaker 3: Blessed those who mourn, for they'll be comforted. Blessed to
[20:57] Speaker 3: meet for their in here the Areth. Bless to those
[20:58] Speaker 3: who hunger in thirsty writs, for they'll be felled. Bless
[21:01] Speaker 3: their peacemakers that be called sons of God. Blessed pure
[21:03] Speaker 3: and heart, they will see God. All of these things
[21:06] Speaker 3: that Jesus says. He talks about lust, He talks about adultery,
[21:10] Speaker 3: He talks about greed, he talks about worry, He talks
[21:12] Speaker 3: about everything.
[21:13] Speaker 1: He covers the entire.
[21:15] Speaker 3: Gamut of the human experience, with authority and accuracy.
[21:19] Speaker 1: All in these three chapters of Scripture.
[21:22] Speaker 3: At the end of it all, and an attempt to
[21:24] Speaker 3: sum it all up, he says, Therefore, everyone who hears
[21:25] Speaker 3: these words of mine and puts them into practice, like
[21:29] Speaker 3: a wise man who built his house on the rock,
[21:35] Speaker 3: The rain came down streams, rose, winds blue, and beat
[21:40] Speaker 3: against that house. I read all three of those trials,
[21:45] Speaker 3: and I didn't see anything about the devil.
[21:52] Speaker 1: What I saw was life.
[21:57] Speaker 3: So I know there are intense periods where the enemy
[22:00] Speaker 3: comes against us.
[22:01] Speaker 1: I've had some of those.
[22:03] Speaker 3: But there are also seasons where you are just empty
[22:08] Speaker 3: because you are exhausted and you have run out of energy.
[22:13] Speaker 3: There are times where the devil blocks your way, and
[22:16] Speaker 3: there are sometimes where you're just stuck in traffic. There
[22:20] Speaker 3: are sometimes where the devil has visited you with a
[22:24] Speaker 3: spirit of weariness, and there are sometimes where you just
[22:27] Speaker 3: didn't put your phone on the nightstand in time to
[22:29] Speaker 3: get enough sleep. There are times where the devil attacks
[22:33] Speaker 3: you with sickness, and there are times where you have
[22:35] Speaker 3: not exercised in three months and you are not giving
[22:38] Speaker 3: your body the proper.
[22:40] Speaker 1: I'll come back to the pulpit. I felt exposed standing
[22:43] Speaker 1: out there. Maybe if I stand behind here. So so
[22:46] Speaker 1: I'm trying.
[22:47] Speaker 3: To say, it's not always warfare.
[22:51] Speaker 1: Sometimes it's just weather. It's just weather.
[22:57] Speaker 3: Don't take everything so seriously, because if everything that we
[23:01] Speaker 3: ever perceive in our life that is a little bit
[23:04] Speaker 3: adversarial we attribute to the accuser of the brethren, then
[23:08] Speaker 3: we give the devil as much power as God.
[23:11] Speaker 1: We assume that the.
[23:13] Speaker 3: Devil has infinite ammunition to fire at his enemy, and
[23:17] Speaker 3: he doesn't. The devil only has so much ammunition, so
[23:22] Speaker 3: he doesn't have enough ammunition.
[23:23] Speaker 1: To give you a flat tire. You just drove through
[23:26] Speaker 1: a construction site. That's just weather. That's just life, that's
[23:33] Speaker 1: just building materials.
[23:35] Speaker 3: Some of the things that we are praying about at
[23:38] Speaker 3: a warfare level, it's really just weather. Sometimes you don't
[23:43] Speaker 3: need a three hour exorcism to get the spirit of
[23:45] Speaker 3: depression out of your life. You need a walk. You
[23:49] Speaker 3: need a walk. You need to get up and walk.
[23:52] Speaker 3: Put your face up towards the sun. Let it beat
[23:55] Speaker 3: on your face a little bit.
[23:57] Speaker 1: Just get outside a little bit. Play a Bottom Harley song.
[24:01] Speaker 3: I don't know what it is, but sometimes it's just weather.
[24:04] Speaker 3: Sometimes it's just the fact I told Holly it had
[24:07] Speaker 3: been five days since I left the house, y'all. I
[24:10] Speaker 3: love when it snows. I like to be by myself.
[24:13] Speaker 3: It gives me an excuse I can say I'm doing
[24:15] Speaker 3: it out of safety.
[24:16] Speaker 1: I'm really just doing it because I don't like to
[24:18] Speaker 1: be around people. I really enjoy it.
[24:21] Speaker 3: But you know, sometimes I'll get in this shutdown situation
[24:24] Speaker 3: where I'll start.
[24:25] Speaker 1: Thinking I'm under attack. I'm not under attack. I'm in isolation.
[24:31] Speaker 3: And when I confuse what is warfare with what is weather,
[24:36] Speaker 3: I'm trying to fight against everything in my life and
[24:39] Speaker 3: not everything is about a fight. Some things are just
[24:42] Speaker 3: about a forecast. There are going to be good moods,
[24:47] Speaker 3: There are going to be bad moods. There are going
[24:50] Speaker 3: to be times that you come.
[24:51] Speaker 1: To church and you feel God.
[24:54] Speaker 3: There are going to be sometimes when you come to
[24:56] Speaker 3: church and you don't get anything resembling a goosebump.
[25:00] Speaker 1: God is no less God when you.
[25:03] Speaker 3: Didn't get a goose bump. God is not proven by
[25:07] Speaker 3: goose bumps.
[25:10] Speaker 1: Let you see what I'm saying.
[25:12] Speaker 3: I feel like I can just break this down today
[25:14] Speaker 3: a little bit. Because we think that naming the name
[25:18] Speaker 3: of Jesus will cancel out the consequences of everyday life,
[25:23] Speaker 3: or that it's somehow going to make us float from
[25:25] Speaker 3: one appointment to the other.
[25:27] Speaker 1: Please don't believe this.
[25:29] Speaker 3: One of the things that the Savior does so well
[25:32] Speaker 3: in his teaching is that he prepares his disciples.
[25:36] Speaker 1: For the storm. I wish I would have told them
[25:39] Speaker 1: to put one more scripture up there.
[25:41] Speaker 3: I didn't think about using it, but I've been so
[25:44] Speaker 3: good to see it. Mark Chapter eight twenty two. If they, oh,
[26:00] Speaker 3: y'all are ready?
[26:02] Speaker 1: They were more.
[26:02] Speaker 3: Ready than I gave them credit for now.
[26:06] Speaker 1: I really didn't tell them to put the.
[26:07] Speaker 3: Scripture up, but they were ready when they came to
[26:11] Speaker 3: be say to Actually, I want to go back a
[26:13] Speaker 3: few verses before that.
[26:13] Speaker 1: I want to go back to verse fourteen. Can y'all
[26:15] Speaker 1: do that?
[26:16] Speaker 3: When the disciples were in the boat with Jesus and
[26:20] Speaker 3: they had forgotten to bring bread, except for one loaf
[26:22] Speaker 3: they had with them in the boat, be careful, Jesus
[26:25] Speaker 3: warned them, watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees
[26:27] Speaker 3: and that of Herod. They discussed this with one another
[26:30] Speaker 3: and said this because we have no bread. Aware of
[26:32] Speaker 3: their discussion, Jesus asked them, why are you talking about
[26:34] Speaker 3: having no bread?
[26:35] Speaker 1: Do you still not see.
[26:39] Speaker 3: Or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes
[26:45] Speaker 3: but fail to see? And ears but failed to hear?
[26:50] Speaker 3: And don't you remember when I broke the five loaves
[26:55] Speaker 3: for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did
[26:58] Speaker 3: you pick up? Twelve were applied, And when I broke
[27:01] Speaker 3: the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls
[27:04] Speaker 3: of pieces did you pick up? They answered seven, he
[27:08] Speaker 3: said to them. And this is what I want to
[27:09] Speaker 3: ask myself sometimes. Do you still not understand? Do you
[27:14] Speaker 3: still not understand that just because you're not prepared doesn't
[27:18] Speaker 3: mean God didn't provide? Do you not understand that just
[27:23] Speaker 3: because the storm was sudden to you doesn't mean God
[27:27] Speaker 3: stop being sovereign over the storm. Don't you recognize that God,
[27:35] Speaker 3: who has called you by name, will keep you through
[27:39] Speaker 3: every season of your life. Now I don't know who
[27:43] Speaker 3: this is for, but I want to minister to you
[27:45] Speaker 3: because something has taken you by surprise.
[27:48] Speaker 1: You did not expect that medical report. You did not
[27:51] Speaker 1: expect to have.
[27:52] Speaker 3: To be in the principal's office keeping your kid in school.
[27:55] Speaker 1: Every other week.
[27:56] Speaker 3: You did not expect to still be doing fertility treatments
[27:59] Speaker 3: three years into this journey. You did not expect to
[28:02] Speaker 3: still be single in this season of your life. You
[28:05] Speaker 3: did not expect for your marriage to be coming to
[28:07] Speaker 3: an end at this young of a place in its inception.
[28:11] Speaker 3: You did not expect to be this far behind in
[28:13] Speaker 3: your finances. At this age and stage. You did not
[28:16] Speaker 3: expect to be this many years away from being able
[28:19] Speaker 3: to retire. You did not expect to still be struggling
[28:22] Speaker 3: with this issue that you have laid on the altar
[28:25] Speaker 3: over and over again. You did not expect for the
[28:29] Speaker 3: panic attacks to start again.
[28:30] Speaker 1: They've been gone for three years. You did not expect
[28:33] Speaker 1: for yourself to be reaching.
[28:34] Speaker 3: For the pills again because you thought you had moved
[28:37] Speaker 3: on from that dependency. You did not expect that person
[28:40] Speaker 3: to walk out of your life.
[28:41] Speaker 1: In fact, they told you.
[28:43] Speaker 3: I'll never leave you, even if everybody else does. You
[28:46] Speaker 3: did not expect in this season of your life to
[28:48] Speaker 3: be feeling distant from God. You did not expect, in
[28:51] Speaker 3: this season of your life to feel so confused.
[28:54] Speaker 1: About what your next step is.
[28:56] Speaker 3: I just want to remind you that you can be
[28:59] Speaker 3: confidently confused. Confidently confused, that is. I did not expect this,
[29:09] Speaker 3: But just because I wasn't prepared for this does not
[29:12] Speaker 3: mean God hasn't provided for this.
[29:16] Speaker 1: So now I'm just looking for.
[29:17] Speaker 3: The loaf that's in the boat that I did not
[29:20] Speaker 3: see with my human eyes, because I'm more ready than
[29:25] Speaker 3: I recognize.
[29:26] Speaker 1: Because if God.
[29:27] Speaker 3: Put the crowd in front of me to feed, He
[29:30] Speaker 3: will give me the bread to pass out in their hands.
[29:33] Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying.
[29:35] Speaker 3: If God gave me the challenge to meet, God will
[29:39] Speaker 3: give me the resource to meet it. Somebody say i've
[29:42] Speaker 3: got resource. I dare you to shout that again. I've
[29:46] Speaker 3: got resource. Even if your bank account number says a
[29:50] Speaker 3: different story.
[29:51] Speaker 1: Say I've got resource.
[29:54] Speaker 3: Even if your cars in the shop say i've got resource,
[29:58] Speaker 3: I've got resource number two, shout this.
[30:01] Speaker 1: I've got relationship.
[30:04] Speaker 3: Now, anytime you've got relationship with somebody who's got resource,
[30:10] Speaker 3: you've got resource. Anytime you've got relationship with somebody who
[30:15] Speaker 3: is the source, you don't have to worry about the
[30:19] Speaker 3: bread you forgot, or the mistake that you made, or
[30:22] Speaker 3: the wrong turn that you took, or the stall out
[30:25] Speaker 3: that you've encountered, or the wisdom that you lack.
[30:29] Speaker 1: If anyone lacks wisdom, let him.
[30:31] Speaker 3: Ask to God, who gives to all.
[30:34] Speaker 1: Men liberally, and upbraid it.
[30:36] Speaker 3: Not so somebody say I've got it. I don't feel it,
[30:40] Speaker 3: but i've got it. I can't prove it, but i've
[30:43] Speaker 3: got it. You can't see it, but I've got it.
[30:46] Speaker 3: I'm not wearing it yet, but I've got it. I
[30:48] Speaker 3: don't even feel it, but I've got it. And I'm
[30:51] Speaker 3: practicing for where God is taking me because he's not
[30:56] Speaker 3: done with me yet.
[31:02] Speaker 1: A fellow outline starting to form there.
[31:05] Speaker 3: I've got resource, I've got relationship.
[31:09] Speaker 1: Do you know what David did.
[31:10] Speaker 3: For his son Solomon when he was called to build
[31:13] Speaker 3: the temple in First Chronicles, chapter twenty nine. He got
[31:17] Speaker 3: all the people together, right, the great King David got
[31:20] Speaker 3: up in front of all the people and he said,
[31:22] Speaker 3: my son is going to build a house for the Lord.
[31:25] Speaker 3: It's going to be magnificent because God is.
[31:28] Speaker 1: It's going to be great because God is.
[31:31] Speaker 3: It's going to be spectacular because God is.
[31:34] Speaker 1: It's going to be made of the best stuff because
[31:36] Speaker 1: God is. And watch what he said.
[31:39] Speaker 3: He said, my son, Solomon, the one whom God has chosen,
[31:43] Speaker 3: is young and inexperienced.
[31:45] Speaker 1: You're not ready.
[31:48] Speaker 3: The task is great because this palatial structure is not
[31:51] Speaker 3: for men, but for the Lord God.
[31:54] Speaker 1: With all my.
[31:56] Speaker 3: Resources, I'm gonna just preach this like I feel it.
[32:02] Speaker 1: I saw a weird connection in the text. I did
[32:04] Speaker 1: not expect this connection.
[32:06] Speaker 3: But he said, with all my resource, I have provided
[32:10] Speaker 3: for the temple of my God, gold for the gold work,
[32:14] Speaker 3: silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for
[32:17] Speaker 3: the iron, and wood for the work.
[32:19] Speaker 1: Wood. So he said, I'm gonna give my son something
[32:23] Speaker 1: to work with.
[32:26] Speaker 3: Is going to be gold for the gold work, silver
[32:29] Speaker 3: for the silver work, bronze for the bronze work, iron
[32:32] Speaker 3: for the iron work, and wood for the woodwork, as
[32:35] Speaker 3: well as onyx for the settings, turquoise stones of various colors,
[32:42] Speaker 3: and all kinds of fine stone and marble, all of
[32:45] Speaker 3: these in large quantities. He said, I'm going to give
[32:50] Speaker 3: you everything you need to build because I know you
[32:54] Speaker 3: don't feel ready yet, and you will have to work
[32:58] Speaker 3: with it, and you will have to form it, and
[32:59] Speaker 3: you will have to develop it. I hear the Lord
[33:01] Speaker 3: saying to somebody, build with it. Build with it. Stop
[33:08] Speaker 3: saying I'm not ready, Stop saying I don't have it,
[33:11] Speaker 3: and build with it. You have resource because you have relationships,
[33:18] Speaker 3: And David said, I have given it to my son.
[33:20] Speaker 3: How much more will your father in heaven not give
[33:24] Speaker 3: you everything you need for the season that you're in.
[33:26] Speaker 3: Somebody receive that word right now online.
[33:30] Speaker 1: Repeat after me.
[33:31] Speaker 3: I have everything I need for the season i'm in.
[33:38] Speaker 1: Tell your neighbor you have.
[33:41] Speaker 3: Everything you need for the season you're in. Tell them
[33:47] Speaker 3: you have resource, Tell them you have relationship.
[33:52] Speaker 1: Now, somebody say.
[33:53] Speaker 3: I've got resource, I've got relationship, I've got rocks.
[34:00] Speaker 1: Yes, David said, I.
[34:07] Speaker 3: Have stored up for my son Solomon everything he needs
[34:13] Speaker 3: to build what God has called him to build. And
[34:16] Speaker 3: one of the things he mentioned at the very end
[34:20] Speaker 3: was precious stones or rocks. Now, if you remember anything
[34:27] Speaker 3: about David, you know that a significant season of his
[34:34] Speaker 3: life involved a rock. It wasn't precious stones, it was
[34:42] Speaker 3: just a rock. As a matter of fact, I want
[34:46] Speaker 3: to call Graham up to the stage right now. Give
[34:49] Speaker 3: this boy a microphone. I did not prepare him for this,
[34:53] Speaker 3: But give this boy a microphone in his hand.
[34:57] Speaker 1: I didn't talk to him about this, but he's Graham.
[35:01] Speaker 3: Take them all the way up to First Samuel sixteen
[35:06] Speaker 3: and tell them in thirty seconds the background of First
[35:09] Speaker 3: Samuel sixteen, even though you weren't prepared to do this.
[35:14] Speaker 1: I did not tell you to wear a sweater over
[35:17] Speaker 1: a collared shirt. Watch God.
[35:19] Speaker 3: I did not tell you to wear your best fit
[35:22] Speaker 3: that you have worn in your entire teenage life, looking
[35:26] Speaker 3: like a high school senior chosen by God. I just
[35:29] Speaker 3: called you up here and I gave you an assignment.
[35:32] Speaker 3: Give us quickly the background of the man David, from
[35:36] Speaker 3: first Samuel sixteen, all.
[35:38] Speaker 1: The way up until he met Deliath.
[35:40] Speaker 7: Please in thirty seconds, go for Samuel sixteen.
[35:44] Speaker 1: We got David, and he's just a shepherd boy. He's
[35:47] Speaker 1: out in the field.
[35:48] Speaker 7: His brothers are out working in the military, and he's
[35:50] Speaker 7: out there in the field taking care of the sheep.
[35:53] Speaker 7: But one day this dude named what was his name,
[35:55] Speaker 7: the prophet came.
[35:56] Speaker 1: He pulled up.
[35:57] Speaker 7: He was like, yo, Samuel. Samuel pulled he was like, yo,
[36:01] Speaker 7: God wants a king. It's gonna be one of y'all.
[36:03] Speaker 7: They lined them up. It was none of the older brothers.
[36:05] Speaker 7: They're like, we got that older We got the.
[36:06] Speaker 1: Younger brother, David. David pulled up. He was like, yo,
[36:09] Speaker 1: you're gonna be the king, David.
[36:11] Speaker 3: King.
[36:11] Speaker 7: David was the king. But he had to go back
[36:13] Speaker 7: out to the field. So he's a king. He's in
[36:14] Speaker 7: the field. He's got oil, but he's in the field.
[36:16] Speaker 7: And then one day, one day, one day, this giant
[36:21] Speaker 7: name Goliath pulled up to the front lines of the military,
[36:24] Speaker 7: and he was taunting them.
[36:25] Speaker 1: He was saying, where's your God? You guys are weak?
[36:27] Speaker 1: What the heck's when he send them? Someone?
[36:29] Speaker 7: Come one v one me. We're gonna run it. If
[36:31] Speaker 7: you win, then your God's real.
[36:33] Speaker 1: Whatever.
[36:35] Speaker 7: They're like, I don't know who it's gonna be. But
[36:37] Speaker 7: then David, his dad told him, Yo, go deliver these
[36:40] Speaker 7: cheese pizzas to your brothers.
[36:42] Speaker 1: They're in the military. They need the cheese pizzas.
[36:45] Speaker 7: So David with a good attitude, he woke up early
[36:48] Speaker 7: and he ran to his brothers in the field and
[36:51] Speaker 7: he pulled up and he saw the giant standing on
[36:53] Speaker 7: the front lines, and he was like, who is this
[36:56] Speaker 7: guy to be taunting and making fun of my God?
[36:59] Speaker 7: And why are you guys stinning back? They're not doing
[37:01] Speaker 7: anything about it.
[37:04] Speaker 1: And his brother's gotten out of him. They're like, bro,
[37:06] Speaker 1: who are you pulling up?
[37:09] Speaker 3: Which brings me to first Samuel seventeen thirty.
[37:14] Speaker 5: Three, And David said, I'll kill him, and Saul replied,
[37:20] Speaker 5: you are not able to go out against this philistine
[37:23] Speaker 5: and fight him. You are only a young man, and
[37:27] Speaker 5: he has been a warrior from his youth.
[37:30] Speaker 3: So Saul said, you're not ready for Goliath. And David said, Nah,
[37:36] Speaker 3: Goliath isn't ready for me. But David said to Saul,
[37:46] Speaker 3: your servant has been.
[37:48] Speaker 1: Keeping his father's seat. When a lion or a.
[37:53] Speaker 3: Bear came and carried off a sheep from the flot,
[37:56] Speaker 3: I was practicing.
[37:58] Speaker 1: I went after it. I've been practicing. I've been working.
[38:03] Speaker 3: I've been praying, I've been praising.
[38:06] Speaker 1: I've been studying. I've been seeking.
[38:09] Speaker 3: I've been on my spot, I've been on my post.
[38:12] Speaker 3: I've been in my back I've been in my field.
[38:16] Speaker 1: I've been in my annointing.
[38:18] Speaker 7: I've been in my role.
[38:19] Speaker 3: I've been doing that.
[38:22] Speaker 1: Give me the verse. I went after it.
[38:26] Speaker 3: I struck it, and I rescued the sheep from its mouth.
[38:30] Speaker 3: And when it turned on me, I seized it by
[38:32] Speaker 3: its hair, and I struck it and I killed it.
[38:36] Speaker 3: And your servant has killed both the lion.
[38:39] Speaker 1: And the bear.
[38:40] Speaker 3: This uncircumcised philistine, this fear, this insecurity, this addiction, this
[38:47] Speaker 3: generational curse, this storm.
[38:50] Speaker 1: This philistine will be.
[38:52] Speaker 3: Like one of them, because he has defied the armies
[38:55] Speaker 3: of the Living God, the Lord who rescued me from
[38:59] Speaker 3: the paw of the law, and the paw of the
[39:01] Speaker 3: bear will rescue me from the hand of this philistine.
[39:05] Speaker 3: I've been practicing. Saul said to David, go and the
[39:09] Speaker 3: Lord be with you. And David said, that's right. I'm
[39:13] Speaker 3: more ready than you recognize, because I look.
[39:16] Speaker 1: Like a shepherd, but I'm really a king.
[39:19] Speaker 3: I look like a boy, but I'm really a bad man.
[39:25] Speaker 1: I'm a bad dude.
[39:28] Speaker 3: Next verse then saw dressed David in his own tunic.
[39:32] Speaker 3: He put a coat of armor on him and a
[39:34] Speaker 3: bronze helmet on his head, and David fastened his sword
[39:38] Speaker 3: over the tunic and tried walking around because he.
[39:41] Speaker 1: Was not used to them.
[39:42] Speaker 3: I cannot go in these, he said to Sault, because
[39:44] Speaker 3: I'm not used to them. So he took them off.
[39:47] Speaker 3: Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five
[39:52] Speaker 3: smooth stones stones from the stream, put them in the
[40:02] Speaker 3: pouch of his shepherd bag, and with his sling in
[40:07] Speaker 3: his hand, approached the Philistines. The only thing wrong with
[40:10] Speaker 3: David is he was wasteful. Four of those stones were unnecessary.
[40:18] Speaker 3: So what I'm trying to say to you today, in
[40:21] Speaker 3: a way that maybe you can apply to your life,
[40:24] Speaker 3: is you've got a rock and You're more ready than
[40:35] Speaker 3: you recognize. I would not have called him up here
[40:40] Speaker 3: if I were not confident.
[40:42] Speaker 1: He could do it. The calling proves my confidence.
[40:49] Speaker 3: God would not call you to do it if he
[40:53] Speaker 3: was not confident that you could.
[40:57] Speaker 1: Why am I confident that he can do it?
[41:00] Speaker 3: Because he's been practicing this sermon, because he was going
[41:05] Speaker 3: to preach it this Sunday night to his Bible study.
[41:09] Speaker 3: But it's going to get canceled because of the storm.
[41:13] Speaker 3: But God knew before the storm was announced on the
[41:17] Speaker 3: weather channel that I would need an illustration in this moment.
[41:22] Speaker 1: So God gave him the word to bring into.
[41:25] Speaker 3: This situation for your life today, so I can let
[41:29] Speaker 3: you know.
[41:30] Speaker 1: You've got a rock.
[41:33] Speaker 3: You've got a rock.
[41:35] Speaker 1: What did Jesus say? Everyone who hears these words of mine.
[41:39] Speaker 3: Is like a wise man who built his house on
[41:44] Speaker 3: the rock. I got a rock when the wind blows,
[41:48] Speaker 3: I got a rock when the rain comes. I got
[41:51] Speaker 3: a rock when the flood rises. I got a rock
[41:54] Speaker 3: when the doctor says I won't live.
[41:56] Speaker 6: I got a.
[41:57] Speaker 1: Rock with a learning disability. I got a rock when
[42:00] Speaker 1: they fire me.
[42:02] Speaker 7: I got a.
[42:02] Speaker 1: Rock when the storm comes.
[42:07] Speaker 3: Because I've got a God who is not only above
[42:11] Speaker 3: my storm, but he is the crown beneath my feet.
[42:15] Speaker 1: On Christ, the solid rock I stand. All other ground
[42:28] Speaker 1: is sinking.
[42:31] Speaker 8: Sand.
[42:33] Speaker 3: How you been building your house? You're good, You preached
[42:38] Speaker 3: better than me. Get off the stage, just making me intimidating.
[42:43] Speaker 3: He was ready, He was ready, and so are you.
[42:55] Speaker 1: So are you.
[42:55] Speaker 3: You're more ready than you realize. You're more ready than
[43:02] Speaker 3: you recognize. You're more ready than you feel like you are.
[43:07] Speaker 3: Have you been building your house on the sand of
[43:12] Speaker 3: situations and circumstances? Have you been running around, Oh, the
[43:16] Speaker 3: devil's attacking me, trying to do warfare, whereas really just weather.
[43:23] Speaker 3: This is not some proof that you're not in the
[43:25] Speaker 3: will of God. It's just proof that you are on
[43:28] Speaker 3: planet Earth. It's weather. It's weather. Have a lot of
[43:35] Speaker 3: our staff in the room, and I wanted to share
[43:36] Speaker 3: this because we are coming to our twenty year anniversary.
[43:43] Speaker 3: Many times in the work of the ministry, I've heard
[43:47] Speaker 3: people complain and say, wow, ministry is just so draining,
[43:52] Speaker 3: And it can be.
[43:53] Speaker 1: But you know what else can be? Adulthood? Huh. Don't
[44:04] Speaker 1: blame it on the.
[44:04] Speaker 3: Lord Jesus Christ, your savior, that is draining you know
[44:08] Speaker 3: what else can be draining being a school teacher. You
[44:12] Speaker 3: know what else can be draining? Being unemployed? You know
[44:18] Speaker 3: what else can be draining? Wishing that your job did
[44:21] Speaker 3: make a difference.
[44:22] Speaker 1: But you feel like it didn't.
[44:25] Speaker 3: And so I always say, let's not complain about what
[44:28] Speaker 3: God gave us. And for twenty years I've seen time
[44:32] Speaker 3: and time again that whatever winds blew against this ministry,
[44:38] Speaker 3: whatever storm came, whether it was an attack from the
[44:41] Speaker 3: enemy or whether it was just weather, that God uses
[44:48] Speaker 3: these moments in your life to reveal.
[44:54] Speaker 4: And that's what I want you to realize about the
[44:55] Speaker 4: house that was built on the rock.
[44:59] Speaker 3: It wasn't ruined, Its foundation was revealed. Here's what I
[45:11] Speaker 3: learned about building my life on the rock of Jesus Christ.
[45:16] Speaker 3: I learned that things will come and I won't feel ready.
[45:18] Speaker 3: Things will come that I didn't pray for it. Things
[45:19] Speaker 3: will come that I would not wish for. Right, that's
[45:23] Speaker 3: the wind, and it will challenge the word.
[45:26] Speaker 1: That I believe Jesus said. Everyone who hears these.
[45:28] Speaker 3: Words, why I put them into practice, be like wise
[45:29] Speaker 3: man who build his house on the rock. Rands came, winds, rose,
[45:32] Speaker 3: streams bleuw, getting us the house. Streams don't blow winds
[45:35] Speaker 3: to But you know what I'm trying.
[45:36] Speaker 9: To say, all that happened all at once, And now
[45:39] Speaker 9: I think about that, that's three separate things happening at
[45:42] Speaker 9: once that you have to deal with and only one
[45:45] Speaker 9: rock you have to stand on to get through it.
[45:49] Speaker 1: So what happens, please remember this for the rest of
[45:53] Speaker 1: your life, for the rest of your life.
[45:54] Speaker 3: And maybe God just sent a snowstorm so that I
[45:57] Speaker 3: would be led to this passage about storms to remind
[46:01] Speaker 3: you that you're ready, to remind you that the house
[46:06] Speaker 3: was built before the storm came. God put you there
[46:11] Speaker 3: before the storm came.
[46:14] Speaker 1: They won't leave you now.
[46:16] Speaker 3: But the second thing I've learned that God does in
[46:18] Speaker 3: my life is that the Lord reveals his truth, and
[46:24] Speaker 3: the storm reveals my trust. The Lord reveals the truth.
[46:38] Speaker 3: He's your provider. The Lord reveals his truth. He's your healer.
[46:44] Speaker 3: The Lord reveals.
[46:46] Speaker 1: His truth.
[46:47] Speaker 3: He is your righteousness. The Lord reveals his truth. He
[46:50] Speaker 3: is more than enough for you. The Lord reveals his truth.
[46:54] Speaker 3: He is holy. The Lord reveals his truth. He's worth
[46:57] Speaker 3: living for. He is the treasure in the field. He
[47:00] Speaker 3: is the bright and morning star. He is he reveals
[47:06] Speaker 3: the truth, and then the storm reveals your trust. Some
[47:14] Speaker 3: of the things that we have been going through were
[47:16] Speaker 3: not attacks from the enemy to destroy us. They were
[47:21] Speaker 3: storms that the Lord allowed to show us what we're
[47:25] Speaker 3: building on.
[47:31] Speaker 1: Now.
[47:31] Speaker 3: The important thing about a storm is not that you
[47:34] Speaker 3: figure out who scent it. It's that you decide what
[47:37] Speaker 3: you're going to stand.
[47:38] Speaker 1: On in the middle of it.
[47:42] Speaker 3: Because God knows, you could spend the rest of your
[47:45] Speaker 3: life beating yourself up over decisions that you could have
[47:48] Speaker 3: made differently and things that maybe you could do differently.
[47:52] Speaker 1: But you've got a rock.
[47:54] Speaker 3: The house didn't stand because the walls were painted the
[47:56] Speaker 3: right color. The house didn't stand because the tops were
[48:00] Speaker 3: picked out perfectly. The house did not stand even because
[48:04] Speaker 3: of the plumbing. The house did not stand because of
[48:06] Speaker 3: anything that.
[48:07] Speaker 1: You could see. It stood because of something that you
[48:11] Speaker 1: could not see. The rocket was built on And I
[48:16] Speaker 1: want this church, I want my life. I want your
[48:19] Speaker 1: life to be built on a solid rock. So you
[48:24] Speaker 1: can know I'm ready for whatever comes to know.
[48:27] Speaker 3: I've got resource and I've got relationship because.
[48:31] Speaker 1: I've got a rock, and you're ready for this. You're
[48:38] Speaker 1: ready for this.
[48:42] Speaker 3: Everyone standing who's physically present, and everyone bow your head
[48:46] Speaker 3: in prayer.
[48:47] Speaker 1: Who's watching online?
[48:48] Speaker 3: Doesn't God deserve just a few moments of your unbroken focus.
[48:53] Speaker 3: Haven't you paid enough attention to the wind? Isn't it
[48:57] Speaker 3: time for you to give attention to the word. You've
[49:00] Speaker 3: heard the word of the Lord today, and everybody got
[49:03] Speaker 3: something different out of it. Some people just simply heard, Hey,
[49:07] Speaker 3: for that giant that's in my life, I've got a
[49:09] Speaker 3: rock to take him down. I don't need more experience.
[49:12] Speaker 3: God gave me what I need. And maybe that'll be
[49:14] Speaker 3: your word, just to get you to go back in
[49:16] Speaker 3: the strength of the Lord.
[49:17] Speaker 1: But for some people, the Word was saying something much deeper.
[49:20] Speaker 3: It was saying, hey, dude, you are building on stuff
[49:24] Speaker 3: that is not stable. You are building on stuff that
[49:31] Speaker 3: will not withstand the storm.
[49:35] Speaker 1: But it's not too late for you. It's not too
[49:38] Speaker 1: late for you. I'm going to tell you how.
[49:40] Speaker 3: I know that one of the disciples that Jesus was
[49:43] Speaker 3: training was named Peter. One time Jesus asked the disciples,
[49:49] Speaker 3: who do you say that I am? And Peter said,
[49:51] Speaker 3: you are the Christ, the son of the Living God.
[49:53] Speaker 3: And Jesus said, blessed her. You Simon, son of Jonah.
[49:56] Speaker 3: For flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you,
[49:59] Speaker 3: but by my f in heaven. And Jesus said, I
[50:02] Speaker 3: tell you you are Peter, and on this rock I
[50:07] Speaker 3: will build my church, and the gates of Hades, the
[50:14] Speaker 3: gates of Hell. The storms of life will not overcome it.
[50:21] Speaker 3: He said that to Peter, knowing that Peter would go
[50:25] Speaker 3: on to.
[50:25] Speaker 1: Deny him at the fire on the eve of his crucifixion.
[50:32] Speaker 3: But see, Jesus knew that sometimes the best place to
[50:36] Speaker 3: build from is rock bottom. I told the Lord, I'm
[50:50] Speaker 3: not ready to preach it. He said, you're more ready
[50:54] Speaker 3: than you realize. And you've been telling the Lord I
[50:57] Speaker 3: can't handle this. I'm not ready for this. I can't
[50:59] Speaker 3: do it. He said, I wouldn't have called you if
[51:03] Speaker 3: I wasn't confident that you could. And not only this,
[51:08] Speaker 3: he said, I wouldn't have called you if I wasn't
[51:10] Speaker 3: going to do it with you.
[51:13] Speaker 1: Bow your head and close your eyes. The Lord is
[51:15] Speaker 1: in this place. Father.
[51:17] Speaker 3: I thank you for the word that you have given today.
[51:20] Speaker 3: It is greater than the wind that blows, the streams
[51:22] Speaker 3: that rise, or the rains that fall. It is greater
[51:25] Speaker 3: than our emotions and.
[51:27] Speaker 1: Our fears and our failures. You are our rock.
[51:31] Speaker 3: Now Lord, I commit to your hands the ministry of
[51:36] Speaker 3: this word for those today God who needed to hear
[51:39] Speaker 3: a message because they are in a secret storm. Can't
[51:43] Speaker 3: tell anybody about it, can't point to a pattern on
[51:47] Speaker 3: a map, can't even really sometimes describe the effects of it,
[51:51] Speaker 3: don't even really know where it's coming from or when
[51:53] Speaker 3: it's going to end.
[51:55] Speaker 1: I wanted you to remind them today that they have
[51:58] Speaker 1: a rock.
[52:00] Speaker 3: After all that you've done for them, after all that
[52:02] Speaker 3: they have survived, the reason that they're here today is
[52:06] Speaker 3: because they have a rock. That rock cannot be moved,
[52:10] Speaker 3: that rock cannot be altered.
[52:12] Speaker 1: That rock is you, God, Today.
[52:17] Speaker 3: In your presence, I want to commit each person who,
[52:21] Speaker 3: maybe in this season of their life, has been hearing
[52:27] Speaker 3: the taunt you're not ready for this. I prayed that
[52:31] Speaker 3: they would reach into their life and grab something out
[52:35] Speaker 3: of their bag that You've given and trust in the
[52:40] Speaker 3: one who put them in the position to begin with. Now, God,
[52:47] Speaker 3: in agreement with the great hymn writer who said, my
[52:50] Speaker 3: hope is built.
[52:52] Speaker 1: On nothing less than.
[52:54] Speaker 3: Jesus' blood in righteousness, I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
[52:59] Speaker 3: but holy lean on Jesus' name. When darkness seems to
[53:03] Speaker 3: hide his face. I rest on his unchanging grace. In
[53:06] Speaker 3: every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil.
[53:11] Speaker 3: When he shall come with trumpet sound, Oh may I
[53:14] Speaker 3: then in him be found dressed in his righteousness, alone
[53:20] Speaker 3: faultless to stand before the throne.
[53:27] Speaker 1: On Christ, the solid rock.
[53:32] Speaker 8: Guy stand all lother ground is sinking, saying other ground
[53:43] Speaker 8: is sinking, saying if you know it, sing it on Christness.
[53:55] Speaker 1: All is say es Ah on the ground seeking said.
[54:10] Speaker 3: Everything else will let you down, everything else will let
[54:13] Speaker 3: you go, but Jesus never will.
[54:16] Speaker 1: Right now, there's somebody hearing this message who.
[54:18] Speaker 3: Needs to give your life to Jesus. I'm telling you
[54:22] Speaker 3: storms are gonna come. I'm telling you winds are gonna hit.
[54:25] Speaker 3: I'm telling you that the Savior is greater than all
[54:27] Speaker 3: of those things, and he is able to keep you
[54:29] Speaker 3: from falling and present you faultless before the presence of
[54:32] Speaker 3: his glory.
[54:33] Speaker 1: But you've got to trust him.
[54:35] Speaker 3: And maybe God allowed a storm in your life so
[54:38] Speaker 3: that you could see that He needs to be your
[54:40] Speaker 3: firm foundation. Right now, I want to pray with you,
[54:44] Speaker 3: every single person who's watching this online, who has an
[54:48] Speaker 3: appointment today to receive the grace of Jesus Christ for
[54:52] Speaker 3: the salvation of your soul. I want you to repeat
[54:55] Speaker 3: this prayer after me. The Bible says that if you
[54:57] Speaker 3: confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe
[55:01] Speaker 3: in your heart God raised him from the dead, you
[55:03] Speaker 3: will be saved. And it is by grace that.
[55:07] Speaker 1: You are saved through faith.
[55:08] Speaker 3: It is the gift of God, not of work, so
[55:11] Speaker 3: that no one can boast. You come to Jesus like
[55:14] Speaker 3: you are. You build your life on his love. You
[55:17] Speaker 3: build your life on what He did for you on Calvary.
[55:20] Speaker 3: You build it on his acceptance of youth. And you
[55:23] Speaker 3: do it now before it's too late. You do it now,
[55:26] Speaker 3: before your house falls down. You do it now while
[55:29] Speaker 3: the blood is still running warm in your veins. You
[55:32] Speaker 3: do it now, while there's still breadth in your lungs.
[55:34] Speaker 1: You do it now.
[55:36] Speaker 3: He is here Now, Today is your day of salvation.
[55:40] Speaker 3: Repeat after me out loud, everybody in the church. Heavenly Father,
[55:44] Speaker 3: I am a sinner in need of a savior, and
[55:48] Speaker 3: I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
[55:54] Speaker 3: and the savior of the world. And today I make
[55:58] Speaker 3: Jesus the life lord of my life. I believe he
[56:02] Speaker 3: died that I would be forgiven and rose again to
[56:07] Speaker 3: give me life. I receive this new life. This is
[56:14] Speaker 3: my new beginning. I am a child of God. If
[56:19] Speaker 3: you just prayed that on the count of three, shoot
[56:21] Speaker 3: your hand up in the air one, two, three and
[56:24] Speaker 3: put it in the comments right now, just say I'm
[56:27] Speaker 3: receiving Jesus.
[56:29] Speaker 1: Just say that in the comments right now. Come on,
[56:32] Speaker 1: just type it in right now. We're here to break
[56:35] Speaker 1: for you. I'm receiving Jesus.
[56:38] Speaker 3: The best decision you'll ever make, and you will have
[56:42] Speaker 3: an anchor in the storm, and you will have a
[56:45] Speaker 3: help in the time of trouble, and you will be
[56:48] Speaker 3: able to confidently say I've got a rock.
