[0:00] Speaker 1: Forged m lock ready and I try to bolt Carrier group.
[0:04] Speaker 1: The Ruger Harrier is completely re engineered for today's shooter.
[0:08] Speaker 1: Innovation without compromise comes standard with the Harrier.
[0:13] Speaker 2: From the range to the field. CZ firearms are built
[0:16] Speaker 2: to perform when it counts. Known for accuracy, durability, and reliability,
[0:21] Speaker 2: CZ stands apart. CZ built for those who demand more.
[0:26] Speaker 2: CZ Firearms dot com.
[0:28] Speaker 3: Especially with a nine no meter mo today, if you
[0:30] Speaker 3: run even a plus pm off, is this got'll handle
[0:32] Speaker 3: plus PMO no prompt You almost got a three fifty
[0:34] Speaker 3: seven velocity.
[0:35] Speaker 4: Coming out of that nine milimeter gun. Yeah, think about it.
[0:38] Speaker 3: You get a plus p if you're running fourteen hundred
[0:40] Speaker 3: feet per second with one hundred and twenty four grand bullet.
[0:43] Speaker 3: You know that the hollow points going to open up.
[0:45] Speaker 5: Always spouted to talk about cool guns and with cool people,
[0:49] Speaker 5: and we've got We're joined right now by Mark Reddel
[0:51] Speaker 5: from Cold Firearms. I'm sitting here looking at your website,
[0:55] Speaker 5: and you know, I know Cold. Everybody knows Cold is
[0:58] Speaker 5: one of the most recognized names in the world. You
[1:01] Speaker 5: go around the world, people know what Cold firems. I
[1:04] Speaker 5: had no idea how many different nineteen elevens you guys
[1:09] Speaker 5: are making. I mean, yeah, you got the revolvers, you
[1:11] Speaker 5: got you know, the in fours and all of that,
[1:13] Speaker 5: But just just that category of nineteen eleven is it
[1:16] Speaker 5: goes on for page after page after page.
[1:18] Speaker 3: Well, one gun doesn't do every job number one, and
[1:22] Speaker 3: not everybody likes the same features on a gun. Some
[1:26] Speaker 3: like checkering, some don't site systems. So you gotta listen
[1:31] Speaker 3: to the consumer, which I can say we have been
[1:34] Speaker 3: over the last few years and really trying to revamp
[1:38] Speaker 3: our lines into what the public wants.
[1:42] Speaker 5: Well, it's just going to say, you know, we like
[1:44] Speaker 5: our old things, but you got a new bunch of
[1:46] Speaker 5: shooters coming along, and they say, you know, I like
[1:49] Speaker 5: that butt, and it's always the butt, right, But I
[1:52] Speaker 5: really want an optics cut. But I really want a
[1:55] Speaker 5: maguell But I really Okay, great, you know what, We'll
[1:58] Speaker 5: make it for.
[1:58] Speaker 4: You one percent.
[2:01] Speaker 3: And that's one of the reasons we went in kind
[2:03] Speaker 3: of hot and heavy on the optic cuts.
[2:05] Speaker 4: Not only do we have them in a wide variety
[2:08] Speaker 4: of our models.
[2:10] Speaker 3: Between the competition guns, the combat unit gun, which is
[2:13] Speaker 3: more of a duty gun, but you know commanders also
[2:16] Speaker 3: because commanders in my opinion, one of the best nineteen
[2:20] Speaker 3: eleven carry guns you can have. I just like the
[2:23] Speaker 3: balance in away runs and everything.
[2:25] Speaker 4: So why not. We have the ability to do it,
[2:29] Speaker 4: We have the knowledge to.
[2:30] Speaker 6: Do it, and you know, we did tons and tons
[2:33] Speaker 6: of testing on those guns to make sure that we
[2:37] Speaker 6: didn't have any plates coming loose, optics coming loose thread,
[2:41] Speaker 6: hooles prolling out.
[2:42] Speaker 4: It takes a lot. A lot of people don't.
[2:44] Speaker 3: Understand how much testing goes into a gun before you
[2:47] Speaker 3: release it, and the amount of money it takes you
[2:49] Speaker 3: to do it.
[2:49] Speaker 5: The funny part to me is that you talk about
[2:51] Speaker 5: the company testing, but I know there's also the mark
[2:54] Speaker 5: rental testing. You've been a professional shooter for decades and
[2:57] Speaker 5: I think before we got on there, you said over
[2:59] Speaker 5: the last twenty years or so, you figure you've put
[3:02] Speaker 5: close to a million rounds through nineteen eleven pistols. That's
[3:06] Speaker 5: just you yourself.
[3:06] Speaker 4: Shooting correct, not at work.
[3:12] Speaker 3: But yeah, it's funny when yeah, I drive a nineteen eleven.
[3:18] Speaker 4: I drive it.
[3:19] Speaker 3: And when I was doing a lot of testing for Coal,
[3:24] Speaker 3: a lot of things I would recommend as we got
[3:26] Speaker 3: a hotspot, a hotspot where you would feel pain, a
[3:30] Speaker 3: sharp edge or something.
[3:31] Speaker 4: You can't have that.
[3:32] Speaker 3: I tell people where I grip the gun has to
[3:35] Speaker 3: almost feel.
[3:36] Speaker 4: Like a bar soap uh huh.
[3:38] Speaker 3: I don't want sharp edges because if it hurts when
[3:41] Speaker 3: you're shooting it, you're not going to shoot it.
[3:43] Speaker 4: And you know as well as I do a hanggun,
[3:45] Speaker 4: you can lose proficiency very quickly.
[3:47] Speaker 3: Is one more difficult firearms to shoot my handgun versus
[3:50] Speaker 3: a rifle or a shotgun.
[3:52] Speaker 5: Yeah, and your proficiency goes downhill really fast. And you're right,
[3:55] Speaker 5: you know, if you shoot it. Look, if you go
[3:57] Speaker 5: out and shoot a box of m it's not a
[4:01] Speaker 5: big deal. But if you go out and shoot several
[4:04] Speaker 5: hundred rounds a day, day after day, it didn't take
[4:08] Speaker 5: you long to say, Okay, this thing hurts, that thing's
[4:10] Speaker 5: poking into me, that that little thing over there is
[4:12] Speaker 5: cutting my hand. We've all been out there at the
[4:14] Speaker 5: range and go, yeah, I need some more band aids
[4:16] Speaker 5: because I'm just cutting my hands up on this gun.
[4:19] Speaker 4: Sharp edges, Yep, it's amazing. You've been at the gun
[4:23] Speaker 4: site a ton of times. I've been out there, you know.
[4:26] Speaker 3: I took a quick three day class last summer and
[4:30] Speaker 3: it was funny.
[4:31] Speaker 4: By day two, I was still the only one that
[4:34] Speaker 4: didn't have.
[4:35] Speaker 7: Band aids or tape on my hands.
[4:38] Speaker 5: Yeah, everybody else.
[4:39] Speaker 4: Them up because they had sharp spots on their gun.
[4:41] Speaker 5: Well, exactly right, and let's kind of get that what
[4:44] Speaker 5: they call it the worn out bar of soapie where
[4:46] Speaker 5: you knock off all those sharp edges. You got a
[4:48] Speaker 5: gun that got my attention. Then we were talking before
[4:51] Speaker 5: we got on there. There's Custom Carry Limited. It's a
[4:53] Speaker 5: commander sized gun in nine milimeter. I'm looking at that
[4:57] Speaker 5: and thinking that is like one of the sweetest carry guns.
[5:00] Speaker 5: And then you said, yeah, but it's out of the
[5:02] Speaker 5: custom shop and they're hard to get. What's the story
[5:05] Speaker 5: with the custom shop in the back ordering?
[5:07] Speaker 3: Because the custom shop is literally each gun is put
[5:11] Speaker 3: together by one of our master gunsmiths.
[5:15] Speaker 4: It's not fast production like you get on an OEM thing.
[5:19] Speaker 3: So basically, frame slides and barrels are built to slightly
[5:24] Speaker 3: different tolerances than the floor models, tighter so each barrel's
[5:29] Speaker 3: hand fit it the frame lapp to the slide. You know,
[5:34] Speaker 3: these are all one master gunsmith from Colt assembles this
[5:39] Speaker 3: gun from start to finish and test fires it and
[5:42] Speaker 3: every gun that leaves there comes with the test target,
[5:45] Speaker 3: the commander that you're talking about. We do a nine
[5:47] Speaker 3: millimeter and forty five and when you look at not
[5:52] Speaker 3: only the COLT parts in it, but the who's who
[5:55] Speaker 3: of after market parts, is the best way for you
[5:57] Speaker 3: to say, when we have EGW edition part, we have
[6:00] Speaker 3: to stand ten parts in the gun.
[6:03] Speaker 4: We didn't skip on it. You know, you know John
[6:05] Speaker 4: Harris medium link trigger in it. We made sure we
[6:09] Speaker 4: got quality parts to go in that gun.
[6:12] Speaker 5: It really is a custom pistol. It's just made by
[6:15] Speaker 5: a factory. It's a custom pistol where you went out
[6:17] Speaker 5: and got the very best aftermarket parts just to make
[6:20] Speaker 5: sure there's nothing better than that correct.
[6:22] Speaker 3: And it's you know when people talk about the custom shop,
[6:26] Speaker 3: which as a matter of fact, this year is the
[6:28] Speaker 3: fiftieth anniversary of our Customers Show. Yeah, a lot of
[6:32] Speaker 3: people think of those really nicely engraved single action armies
[6:37] Speaker 3: are nicely engraved righteen eleven.
[6:39] Speaker 4: But but we do, if.
[6:42] Speaker 3: You want to call it semi production, we do that
[6:46] Speaker 3: custom carry gun. We do a custom competition gun, which
[6:50] Speaker 3: is the way I set up my competition pistols that
[6:53] Speaker 3: are also being made there.
[6:55] Speaker 4: So there's all.
[6:56] Speaker 3: And they also will work on customers guns and do
[6:59] Speaker 3: upgrades and every thing from the custom shop.
[7:01] Speaker 5: I don't know that.
[7:02] Speaker 4: Wow, it's a really interesting place to go.
[7:07] Speaker 3: It's funny when a lot of the VIPs come to visital,
[7:10] Speaker 3: you bring them in there, and that's where they spend
[7:12] Speaker 3: most of their time watching these guys hand file and
[7:17] Speaker 3: talk to them and watch John Paves, a master engraver
[7:21] Speaker 3: chisel metal, and he's like, all we'll talk.
[7:24] Speaker 5: About him in just a second. I do want to
[7:26] Speaker 5: mention it. The nineteen elevens you have are available in
[7:28] Speaker 5: different sizes, but also in nine, ten, forty five, and
[7:32] Speaker 5: thirty eight supers. There's still an interest in thirty eight.
[7:35] Speaker 3: Supers, Yes, there is, well, we heard or not usually
[7:38] Speaker 3: down southwestern states have a big interest in it yet
[7:42] Speaker 3: because it's still that flat shooting round that everybody likes
[7:46] Speaker 3: down there. Bobby personally, it has his pluses and minuses.
[7:51] Speaker 3: But you know, you know as well as I do,
[7:53] Speaker 3: the way nine millimeters plus p's are coming out, they're
[7:57] Speaker 3: rivaling what you're getting speed at A.
[8:00] Speaker 5: Yeah, there really are all right, you mentioned you're engraver.
[8:03] Speaker 5: We've got to talk for a second about this Revolver
[8:06] Speaker 5: promotion thing you're doing with the Second Amendment Foundation.
[8:09] Speaker 3: Yes, Cole guns dot com have partnered up with Second
[8:14] Speaker 3: Amendment Foundation the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of our
[8:17] Speaker 3: country and you're doing a one off special Python. John
[8:24] Speaker 3: Pas has done c class engravings, patriotic role engraving special
[8:32] Speaker 3: grips that are smooth walnut with eagle medallions in it.
[8:36] Speaker 3: So this is gonna be one off. It's going up
[8:39] Speaker 3: for auction. It starts live tomorrow. All proceeds are going
[8:44] Speaker 3: to the Second Amendment Foundation, and it's great because that's
[8:48] Speaker 3: an organization that has been fighting for our rights to
[8:53] Speaker 3: keep our firearms.
[8:54] Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely in doing some good work. We've just had
[8:56] Speaker 5: a couple of really big wins. So we got this
[8:58] Speaker 5: custom Python available guns dot You go to guns dot
[9:02] Speaker 5: com and that's going to be the you get a
[9:04] Speaker 5: chance and it's not auction. Is an auction or raffle auction.
[9:07] Speaker 4: Auction Okay, starts tomorrow and goes to July twelfth.
[9:11] Speaker 5: Very good, All right, very good. And of course for
[9:14] Speaker 5: those people know you've been expanding the Python line, you've
[9:17] Speaker 5: been expanding the Revolver line. You doing a lot of
[9:20] Speaker 5: stuff there.
[9:21] Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you there has been a huge resurgeon
[9:24] Speaker 3: in the modern sporting rifles this year. It's been pretty
[9:29] Speaker 3: amazing from what I've seen, a lot more interest in it.
[9:33] Speaker 3: Maybe it's because some of these states are trying to
[9:36] Speaker 3: pass laws that are unconstitutional as far as un concerned.
[9:40] Speaker 4: But yeah, and of course, you know.
[9:43] Speaker 3: One of the big pluses, we just had our M five,
[9:46] Speaker 3: which is our ambidextrious gun, ambidexrious lower with a totally
[9:51] Speaker 3: different upper, the way the barrel is held in and
[9:55] Speaker 3: everything for more accuracy, total free float, it gets rid
[10:00] Speaker 3: of heat guns and am actually named America's gun, So
[10:05] Speaker 3: that that was a pretty big thing for us to have,
[10:08] Speaker 3: right with all the manufacturers out there that they chose us.
[10:13] Speaker 4: It was pretty interesting to watch the M four.
[10:17] Speaker 3: With serial number one million come off the assembly line.
[10:20] Speaker 5: Wow was that recently?
[10:22] Speaker 4: Yes? Springtime?
[10:23] Speaker 5: Wow?
[10:24] Speaker 4: Pretty impressive to think about the M four.
[10:28] Speaker 3: You know, the military's M four serial number one million
[10:32] Speaker 3: is like.
[10:32] Speaker 5: Well, as far as I'm concerned, the AR fifteen, the
[10:35] Speaker 5: AR does stand for America's Rifle, and that's the way
[10:38] Speaker 5: it should be. All right, Mark Rendtl, I appreciate your time.
[10:41] Speaker 5: Always fun to get together with you. We got to
[10:42] Speaker 5: do that, and I think we're gonna be together at
[10:45] Speaker 5: the Gunsight gas match out there in October. Let me
[10:48] Speaker 5: send people to cult dot com. It's just simply cult
[10:51] Speaker 5: dot com to see all of these cool guns. Mark Redold,
[10:54] Speaker 5: thanks again, and I will see you out of Gunsight
[10:57] Speaker 5: all right, don't go far. Gun Talk will be right back.
[11:01] Speaker 1: Ruger didn't just update the ar, they rebuilt it from
[11:04] Speaker 1: the ground up. The Harrier is the modern sporting rifle
[11:07] Speaker 1: reimagined for the serious shooter. Millspec four seventy seventy five
[11:11] Speaker 1: receivers and I tried to bold Carrier group with stacked
[11:14] Speaker 1: gas key mlock handguard, with full length accessory rail, access
[11:18] Speaker 1: threaded barrel, ready for whatever you add to it. This
[11:21] Speaker 1: isn't an iteration, it's an evolution decades of Ruger engineering
[11:26] Speaker 1: discipline poured into the platform.
[11:28] Speaker 5: You love the Ruger Harrier. Put all your gear on
[11:32] Speaker 5: that you carry and then roll around on the ground. Now,
[11:35] Speaker 5: get up all your gear that's on the ground. That's
[11:37] Speaker 5: what you're not going to have in a fight.
[11:39] Speaker 4: Gun Talk should be in your podcast feed. Check out
[11:42] Speaker 4: gun Talk Nation. What's it like to be blown up?
[11:44] Speaker 4: You know if it's like C four. It's almost like
[11:47] Speaker 4: a smack hunting. Yeah, we talk about that too.
[11:51] Speaker 2: On your cross hairs, I like a thin crosshair.
[11:54] Speaker 4: AJ you're really dating yourself by calling things cross hairs.
[11:57] Speaker 4: You're redical whatever. Have some fun and informed with the

[13:04] Speaker 1: Ruger our exam self defense focused. When things go sideways,
[13:08] Speaker 1: your gear better go forward. The Ruger RXAM is built
[13:11] Speaker 1: for real world defense, simple, intuitive and ready. When you
[13:16] Speaker 1: are with a flat face trigger for consistent control, excellent
[13:19] Speaker 1: ergonomics and reliability, you can bet your life on the
[13:23] Speaker 1: RXAM makes no excuses. One of Ruger's most versatile and
[13:27] Speaker 1: modular designs. The RXAM is ready because when it's go time,
[13:31] Speaker 1: you won't have time.
[13:48] Speaker 5: It is an incredibly exciting time if you are a
[13:52] Speaker 5: supporter of the Second Amendment. We just had two major
[13:56] Speaker 5: cases come out of the Supreme Court. Both of them
[13:59] Speaker 5: went our way, was unanimous. One was a six to
[14:02] Speaker 5: three decision. We had the Hamadi case which said that
[14:07] Speaker 5: you cannot be banned from owning a gun because you
[14:09] Speaker 5: smoke marijuana. And then we had the Wolford case out
[14:15] Speaker 5: of Hawaii, and that one's a very interesting one, and
[14:19] Speaker 5: both of them have very favorable Well, I would say
[14:26] Speaker 5: unintended consequences, but I think maybe the Supreme Court intended
[14:29] Speaker 5: the consequences the way they wrote them. One of the
[14:35] Speaker 5: most interesting parts of the Wolford case out of Hawaii
[14:39] Speaker 5: was Justice Catangie Brown Jackson in her descent, actually bolstered
[14:49] Speaker 5: the Second Amendment. I think, as I think it was
[15:00] Speaker 5: one of the gun rights supporters was quoted as saying
[15:02] Speaker 5: she needs to go back to law school, which is
[15:06] Speaker 5: a kind way of saying what I often say, which
[15:09] Speaker 5: is she's dumb as a bag of rocks. She in
[15:14] Speaker 5: no way understood that her descent would be quoted and
[15:20] Speaker 5: already has been used in several amikas files. The breaches
[15:28] Speaker 5: have been filed over the last two or three days
[15:32] Speaker 5: where she's supporting the methodology, and we hear about this
[15:35] Speaker 5: all the time. What is the methodology? It is the
[15:37] Speaker 5: way that courts are instructed to look at these cases.
[15:41] Speaker 5: You have to do this before you can do that. Well,
[15:44] Speaker 5: it's really important because what's the big vad No, no, no,
[15:47] Speaker 5: it's really important because what has been happening, and let
[15:51] Speaker 5: get into the weeds on this for a second. What
[15:54] Speaker 5: has been happening is that the Supreme Court had the
[15:57] Speaker 5: Heller decision, then the McDonald decision, and then the brew decision,
[16:00] Speaker 5: all good decisions for the Second Amendment, and then they
[16:04] Speaker 5: would get these the lower courts, which essentially ignore them
[16:09] Speaker 5: and do what they wanted to do because they didn't
[16:11] Speaker 5: like the law the way the Supreme Court interpreted it.
[16:17] Speaker 5: They said, well, we're just going to ignore it and
[16:19] Speaker 5: we'll do what we could do here, and basically, thinking
[16:22] Speaker 5: that the Supreme Court isn't going to take all these cases,
[16:24] Speaker 5: they're not going to take this one. In the way
[16:27] Speaker 5: we rule against the Second Amendment and against gun owners
[16:30] Speaker 5: and against gun rights will simply stand. And that's been
[16:35] Speaker 5: largely true up until now. I think it's changing. One
[16:40] Speaker 5: of the things that's been happening. And here's where we
[16:42] Speaker 5: really get into the weeds. There's a thing called GVR
[16:46] Speaker 5: where the Supreme Court, the case gets appealed to the
[16:50] Speaker 5: Supreme Court and they grant certuary, which says we're going
[16:54] Speaker 5: to take the case, and then they vacate the lower
[16:58] Speaker 5: court's decision to throw it out, and then they remand
[17:02] Speaker 5: it they send it back to the lower court. So
[17:04] Speaker 5: it's a GVR grant, vacate and remand basically the Supreme
[17:09] Speaker 5: Court has looked at this case, we've thrown it out.
[17:12] Speaker 5: We send it back to you to do it again
[17:15] Speaker 5: in accordance with the way we the Supreme Court have
[17:18] Speaker 5: ruled on this issue. Unfortunately, up till now, what has
[17:25] Speaker 5: been happening is some of these lower courts, Ninth Circuit
[17:28] Speaker 5: some of the others, they get the case back from
[17:30] Speaker 5: the Supreme Court. This has happened in the last few
[17:33] Speaker 5: days of a couple of them. They get the case
[17:36] Speaker 5: back from the Supreme Court, which is said, Okay, you
[17:38] Speaker 5: got it wrong, go back and look at it again
[17:41] Speaker 5: with a night of what we've done here and the
[17:42] Speaker 5: way we've set up the guardrails. And the lower court
[17:46] Speaker 5: looks at it and then re examines it and then
[17:50] Speaker 5: reissues its opinion and says, we got this from the
[17:53] Speaker 5: Supreme Court and they ask us to look at it again,
[17:56] Speaker 5: and we have and we think we've got it right
[17:58] Speaker 5: the first time, So we're going to stick with what
[18:00] Speaker 5: we had, in other words, just flipping the bird at
[18:04] Speaker 5: the Supreme Court. Of course, those get appealed back to
[18:08] Speaker 5: the Supreme Court. It's the most amazing thing, is the
[18:12] Speaker 5: most incredible display of hubris on part of the lower courts.
[18:19] Speaker 5: We got with these two cases some real clear signs
[18:22] Speaker 5: that the Supreme Court wants to see some more cases.
[18:26] Speaker 5: Almost certainly we will see what is commonly called a
[18:31] Speaker 5: hardware case. These bands on air fifteens and bands on
[18:36] Speaker 5: standard capacity magazines. I think that's going to becoming I
[18:41] Speaker 5: would bet in the next term with it. This term
[18:44] Speaker 5: is almost over, like we were a week or so
[18:46] Speaker 5: before this term is over, but they might decide to
[18:49] Speaker 5: grant cert on one of these cases to look at
[18:53] Speaker 5: it next term. I think that's probably going to happen,
[18:57] Speaker 5: and we're gonna win. I would say we're close to
[19:00] Speaker 5: one hundred percent that we're going to win. And all
[19:03] Speaker 5: the air fifteen bands and all these states are going
[19:05] Speaker 5: to go away, and the magazine capacity limits in these
[19:09] Speaker 5: states are going to go away. I mean, I am
[19:12] Speaker 5: convinced that is going to happen. And as I've said
[19:16] Speaker 5: many times here before, people say, yeah, but I get it.
[19:21] Speaker 5: Nobody is more frustrated with the process than I am.
[19:25] Speaker 5: I understand that. Look, I've been doing this for fifty years.
[19:29] Speaker 5: I wanted all this to get fixed fifty years ago,
[19:32] Speaker 5: and then forty years ago, then thirty and twenty ten
[19:35] Speaker 5: years ago. But there's a process. You got to go
[19:39] Speaker 5: through the process. And for the longest time, for decades,
[19:42] Speaker 5: we had no chance of getting favorable rulings out of
[19:46] Speaker 5: the Supreme Court. What wasn't going to happen. The Supreme
[19:49] Speaker 5: Court was packed with leftists, and the cases brought to
[19:55] Speaker 5: them were brought to them with an eye toward we
[19:58] Speaker 5: can't get this pass in Congress. In other words, the
[20:02] Speaker 5: people of the United States don't want this to be law,
[20:06] Speaker 5: so we need you, the Supreme Court, to make law
[20:09] Speaker 5: where no law exists. And they did, and they did
[20:13] Speaker 5: it over and over again, from Roe v. Wade all
[20:15] Speaker 5: the way to a whole bunch of other things. They
[20:17] Speaker 5: just said, we're going to make up a law. We're
[20:19] Speaker 5: going to make up a right that's not in the Constitution.
[20:23] Speaker 5: And who's going to stop us with the Supreme Court. Well,
[20:26] Speaker 5: of course, now we've got a new Supreme Court different makeup.
[20:28] Speaker 5: Thank you, Donald Trump. He did exactly what he said
[20:30] Speaker 5: he was going to do. And all you people who
[20:32] Speaker 5: say he's not doing enough for us, he gave us
[20:34] Speaker 5: this Supreme Court, and we're winning because of this Supreme Court,
[20:42] Speaker 5: and a number of those decisions made by the super
[20:45] Speaker 5: leftist liberal courts of the past are being overturned over
[20:50] Speaker 5: and over again. And that's about to happen on more
[20:52] Speaker 5: gun cases. It's going to be fascinating to watch. Mark
[21:01] Speaker 5: coursed a weigh in on this online too. Hey, Mark,
[21:04] Speaker 5: you got a comment about Justice Ktanji brown Jackson.
[21:08] Speaker 10: Well you should be bringing to Katanji Brownes Jackson's attention
[21:12] Speaker 10: that she made it made a mistake here. We want
[21:15] Speaker 10: her to keep going and keep going on making mistakes
[21:18] Speaker 10: like that. You know, there is an old thing. I
[21:20] Speaker 10: think it was some sun view or something that was
[21:24] Speaker 10: making a mistake. Don't interrupt them.
[21:26] Speaker 5: Don't interrupt them, you know. But the thing is, you
[21:28] Speaker 5: would be and I would agree with you normally if
[21:31] Speaker 5: we were dealing with somebody who I thought would actually
[21:33] Speaker 5: recognize what we were saying and understand that she screwed up.
[21:36] Speaker 5: But I don't think that's possible in this case, because
[21:39] Speaker 5: I don't think her record shows that she's capable of
[21:41] Speaker 5: understanding what she just did or the ramifications of it,
[21:45] Speaker 5: or that her dissent in this gun case is actually
[21:49] Speaker 5: going to be used to bolster more gun rights cases.
[21:52] Speaker 5: And it will. I mean, it's already has been. There
[21:55] Speaker 5: have been several letters sent to courts in the last
[21:58] Speaker 5: two or three days quoting Justice Catangie Brown Jackson and saying,
[22:06] Speaker 5: because of what she said, we need to go back
[22:08] Speaker 5: and look at these other cases which we lost at
[22:11] Speaker 5: the lower court. I mean, it's an amazing time. And
[22:14] Speaker 5: that's not even to talk about what's going on in Virginia.
[22:16] Speaker 5: But we now have a temporary injunction on the enact
[22:20] Speaker 5: re enforcement of this AR fifteen band there. We'll have
[22:24] Speaker 5: an update on that in about thirty minutes. Here a
[22:26] Speaker 5: lot of stuff going on. What's on your mind, Give
[22:29] Speaker 5: me a shout, we'll talk about it. I'm Tom Gresher.
[22:38] Speaker 5: I'm glad you're here. I'm glad i'm here. I'm Tom Gresher,
[22:40] Speaker 5: and this is gun Talk. You can see some of
[22:41] Speaker 5: the other things we do over at guntalk dot com,
[22:45] Speaker 5: or just look for gun talk online with your web searches.
[22:48] Speaker 5: We have a massive Facebook page now. It's incredible. It
[22:51] Speaker 5: keeps going, I mean by hundreds of thousands of followers
[22:56] Speaker 5: at a time. It's quite amazing. So go follow gun
[22:59] Speaker 5: talk media over on Facebook. We put a lot of
[23:02] Speaker 5: videos there that you can't see other places because frankly,
[23:06] Speaker 5: YouTube doesn't like gun videos keeps taking them down, but
[23:09] Speaker 5: we can put them up on Facebook. So you can
[23:12] Speaker 5: take a look at those there, and oh, a lot
[23:14] Speaker 5: of them are sixty seconds or less, but fun stuff,
[23:17] Speaker 5: cool stuff. I spent a fair amount of time over
[23:21] Speaker 5: on x you know, the formerly known as Twitter place.
[23:26] Speaker 5: It's a good place for having conversations and putting out information,
[23:29] Speaker 5: And if you follow me over there, I am at
[23:32] Speaker 5: gun Talk on X you'll see a lot of the
[23:36] Speaker 5: stories that I link to a lot of it's just
[23:38] Speaker 5: sharing information. And then every once in a while, because
[23:42] Speaker 5: that's what I do, I poked the bear. I stirred
[23:46] Speaker 5: up a little bit. Yeah, big surprise, right, And did
[23:49] Speaker 5: that a couple of days ago because somebody online had
[23:53] Speaker 5: posted he sentially, if I remember it right, that he
[23:59] Speaker 5: has plastic strucker fired guns. He's got the modern plastic pistols,
[24:07] Speaker 5: he says, but he likes to carry his nineteen eleven
[24:11] Speaker 5: says because those plastic guns have no soul. I thought
[24:16] Speaker 5: that was an interesting thought. So I put that up
[24:20] Speaker 5: and let the follies begin, and you got the typical
[24:26] Speaker 5: reaction of the anti nineteen eleven folks. You've got the
[24:31] Speaker 5: folks who say, yeah, that novel, enough, ammo. You got
[24:35] Speaker 5: something to say, Yeah, guns don't have souls. Yeah no,
[24:37] Speaker 5: it's not they don't have a soul. They have soul.
[24:40] Speaker 5: It's a different thing. Or you just have a feeling
[24:43] Speaker 5: about a gun. Sometimes I put it this way, sometimes
[24:48] Speaker 5: you just choose to carry a gun because you like
[24:52] Speaker 5: that gun. Can I make an argument that it makes
[24:59] Speaker 5: a lot of sense to have it nine milimeters with
[25:01] Speaker 5: twenty one rounds in it, and you're plastic, fantastic with
[25:04] Speaker 5: red dots, sight and a weapon mounted light. Yeah. Absolutely,
[25:08] Speaker 5: is that what I carried. No, it's not for any
[25:12] Speaker 5: number of reasons. I I do understand how people say, well,
[25:20] Speaker 5: it's not practical, it's not logical, it's not the most efficient,
[25:24] Speaker 5: it's not the most effective. I understand all that. And
[25:29] Speaker 5: if you told me today you're gonna have to go
[25:30] Speaker 5: into a battle of something, I pick up one of those.
[25:34] Speaker 5: But for what I'm gonna carry all day every day,
[25:36] Speaker 5: the thing I'm gonna put on each day, I kind
[25:40] Speaker 5: of want to like the gun, if that makes any sense.
[25:47] Speaker 5: And as I say, sometimes it's a P three sixty
[25:50] Speaker 5: five in some variations. Sometimes it's an M and P.
[25:52] Speaker 5: Sometimes it's a shield, Sometimes it's a ruger. Sometimes it's
[25:55] Speaker 5: the Smith and Western Bodyguard two point zero three eighty,
[26:00] Speaker 5: and sometimes it's a nineteen eleven. Because I don't know why.
[26:04] Speaker 5: Sometimes it makes no sense, not even to me. Now. Oh,
[26:08] Speaker 5: I'm just going to carry this today because I like
[26:10] Speaker 5: it fair enough. I mentioned the guy at the range yesterday.
[26:17] Speaker 5: This is an outdoor range in public range, but it's
[26:21] Speaker 5: self regulated members. We unlocked the gate and I go
[26:26] Speaker 5: and there's a guy at one of the bays, outdoor bays,
[26:29] Speaker 5: and so I decided to go two down from him,
[26:31] Speaker 5: park over there. I don't want to bother him. And
[26:35] Speaker 5: then I realized I had forgotten my stapler. I've been
[26:37] Speaker 5: switching range bags around and it wasn't in my bag,
[26:40] Speaker 5: and so I walked over to him and say he
[26:42] Speaker 5: wouldn't have to have a state rocket bar. He says, oh, yeah, sure,
[26:45] Speaker 5: So I borrow a state prog, go over and put
[26:47] Speaker 5: my targets up. I take it back to him. He says,
[26:50] Speaker 5: you know, this is an odd question. It's long shot,
[26:55] Speaker 5: because he had no idea what I was doing there,
[26:57] Speaker 5: what I was shooting. He says, you just happened to
[27:01] Speaker 5: have a magazine for a nineteen eleven would you? Yeah? Obviously,
[27:06] Speaker 5: I smiled. I said, well, do you need nine millimeter
[27:10] Speaker 5: or forty five? Because I got both? He said, well
[27:13] Speaker 5: forty five. I said, okay, yeah, come on over. So
[27:16] Speaker 5: I flipped up with a bag and it had I
[27:17] Speaker 5: think I had twelve mags for forty five nineteen elevens.
[27:22] Speaker 5: He said, well, I just got this nineteen eleven from
[27:27] Speaker 5: the Saville Marketmanship Program CMP. It's made in nineteen forty five.
[27:32] Speaker 5: It's an ithaca and it looks real stock, and it
[27:36] Speaker 5: looks like it hadn't been refinished by an armor. I said, well, yeah,
[27:39] Speaker 5: I want to go see that. So we walked over
[27:41] Speaker 5: there and looked at that. It was a chance to
[27:42] Speaker 5: show this fifteen year oldho was with me a little
[27:44] Speaker 5: bit about old guns and the lure or the a
[27:48] Speaker 5: lure of old historic guns. And this guy, Doug, by
[27:53] Speaker 5: the way, it meet good to beat you. Doug. He
[27:56] Speaker 5: likes military guns, and so we talked about studying history
[27:59] Speaker 5: through studying guns that he had not heard of nor
[28:02] Speaker 5: been to the Code Museum. So I recommended he run
[28:04] Speaker 5: out there. At some point we just said a good time.
[28:07] Speaker 5: It's fun looking at stuff like that. You never know.
[28:13] Speaker 5: And going back to this idea of this gun doesn't
[28:17] Speaker 5: have a soul, it's not really that. It's not that
[28:19] Speaker 5: that doesn't have soul, it's just it doesn't speak to me.
[28:23] Speaker 5: And so I guess let me throw this question out.
[28:24] Speaker 5: We'll put this question on the floor. Are there guns
[28:29] Speaker 5: that speak to you? Handgun, rifle, shotgun? You just go Yeah.
[28:32] Speaker 5: When I picked that up, I just love the way
[28:35] Speaker 5: it feels. I love the way it looks. He may
[28:39] Speaker 5: not even be the most practical. It's like our caller
[28:41] Speaker 5: who took a single shot rifle to Africa had a
[28:45] Speaker 5: pump action rifle to Africa hot with Is that the
[28:49] Speaker 5: most efficient or most practical? Of course it's not, but
[28:54] Speaker 5: every time he picks them up, it makes him feel good.
[28:57] Speaker 5: Pretty interesting. Let's go line three. A rock is with
[29:00] Speaker 5: us out of Treemont, Utah, where I have stayed in Tremont.
[29:05] Speaker 5: I do you believe I do it? Sir?
[29:08] Speaker 7: Hey Tom, how are you so?
[29:10] Speaker 5: You got the bowling alley there with the great big
[29:12] Speaker 5: bowling piano and the grill restaurant right behind it? Right?
[29:16] Speaker 10: Yeah?
[29:18] Speaker 3: See.
[29:19] Speaker 7: I saw a Springfield nineteen oh three listed for sale
[29:22] Speaker 7: the other day in my area, and I went down
[29:25] Speaker 7: the rabbit hole and did a bunch of research, and
[29:28] Speaker 7: I was like, man, I better, I got to have
[29:30] Speaker 7: that gun. That looks really cool. So I went and
[29:33] Speaker 7: picked it up. And you know, it's not the latest
[29:36] Speaker 7: and greatest and might not have the best trigger, but
[29:38] Speaker 7: I'll tell you what, it's a hoot to shoot, and
[29:41] Speaker 7: it's really cool to be able to to shoot something
[29:44] Speaker 7: that's one hundred years old. I mean, who can say
[29:46] Speaker 7: that about their gun?
[29:48] Speaker 5: Well, you know, we don't drive cars at one hundred
[29:52] Speaker 5: years old. Actually, there's hardly almost anything that we use. Well,
[29:56] Speaker 5: we may buy something that's one hundred years old, we're
[29:59] Speaker 5: not going to go out and I mean, like you
[30:01] Speaker 5: wouldn't be bothered taking that out and saying I'm going
[30:03] Speaker 5: to go shoot a hundred rounds through this rifle. Do
[30:05] Speaker 5: you think, yeah, big deal, it'll do that.
[30:07] Speaker 7: Right, Yeah, exactly. Yeah, It's just it's really neat. It's
[30:12] Speaker 7: cool to have something that historical with you know, as
[30:15] Speaker 7: much history behind it as it does going through two
[30:18] Speaker 7: world wars. And you know that's that's pretty cool to
[30:21] Speaker 7: have that.
[30:21] Speaker 5: So what got you interested in that in the first place.
[30:27] Speaker 7: Well, it just looked really cool and I just started
[30:29] Speaker 7: doing research and you know, found out it's the predecessor
[30:34] Speaker 7: to the M one and just I like the old
[30:38] Speaker 7: old war guns and I thought that'd be really cool
[30:41] Speaker 7: to have in the collection and shoot because I don't
[30:43] Speaker 7: want it to sit in the safe. And I'll tell
[30:45] Speaker 7: you what, that thirty out six will do just about
[30:47] Speaker 7: anything I needed too.
[30:48] Speaker 5: So yes, there will, So do you have other military guns?
[30:53] Speaker 10: I don't.
[30:54] Speaker 7: This is my first one, so pretty happy with Oh oh
[30:57] Speaker 7: you poor baby. Yeah, well, I'm sure there'll be more.
[31:03] Speaker 7: But I also had a quick comment, if you've got
[31:06] Speaker 7: a second, you bet so. I know I've talked about
[31:12] Speaker 7: people saying, oh, I live in a safe area, and
[31:15] Speaker 7: you know this is a safe town to live in.
[31:16] Speaker 7: But if you're saying that to yourself, you're really kidding yourself,
[31:20] Speaker 7: because nobody's nowhere is really safe. I mean, we have
[31:25] Speaker 7: nicer areas, but there's a lot of a lot of
[31:29] Speaker 7: interesting people out there. And if you're not you can
[31:33] Speaker 7: steel caring. I mean, you've said it many times on
[31:36] Speaker 7: your show. You're you're the first responder. You're the one
[31:39] Speaker 7: that's responsible for yourself and your family safety and you
[31:44] Speaker 7: can't leave that up to chance.
[31:47] Speaker 5: Yeah, and evil travels and middle illness can pop up anywhere,
[31:53] Speaker 5: and it happens when you least expect it. And yeah,
[31:57] Speaker 5: you're exactly right. So what are you carrying?
[32:01] Speaker 7: So I've got my tars G three C right now
[32:04] Speaker 7: that I called in last or a couple of weeks ago,
[32:07] Speaker 7: and I'll probably be switching to a nineteen eleven style
[32:10] Speaker 7: pistol here when I can.
[32:13] Speaker 5: Well, there's a classic that it's modernized. You can get
[32:16] Speaker 5: a modern one, but it traces its roots all the
[32:18] Speaker 5: way back to the same era as your three Springfield.
[32:21] Speaker 5: So good on you look, thank you for the call,
[32:24] Speaker 5: sir of congratulations on getting that rifle. And as I say,
[32:28] Speaker 5: I think that's going to be your entry, your gateway
[32:31] Speaker 5: drug into the world of military firearms. It is a
[32:34] Speaker 5: cool place to be. I appreciate that this idea of
[32:38] Speaker 5: I live in a safe place, so I don't need
[32:40] Speaker 5: to carry or I feel good here. Yeah, I get
[32:44] Speaker 5: to understand that, and I get it that carrying a gun,
[32:50] Speaker 5: so it's a hassle. It's heavy, it's bulky. You gotta
[32:55] Speaker 5: have a cover garment. If you're carrying concealed you got
[32:58] Speaker 5: to be aware of where you're going. Can I carry
[32:59] Speaker 5: you that? I can't carry you there. I understand all that.
[33:04] Speaker 5: And yet let me turn it around a different way.
[33:07] Speaker 5: Rather than be telling you something, let me ask you something.
[33:10] Speaker 5: How do you prepare? How do you propose to protect
[33:16] Speaker 5: your family? What are you going to do? Crazy crazy
[33:23] Speaker 5: pops up You're at the gas station and crazy walks
[33:26] Speaker 5: up to you, or if there's two or three of
[33:28] Speaker 5: them or evil and they want to rob you. They
[33:30] Speaker 5: want to carjack you, with your your wife in the car,
[33:34] Speaker 5: with your kid in the car, with your grandparents in
[33:36] Speaker 5: the car. What are you going to do? Well, I've
[33:44] Speaker 5: got my phone. Do you realize that lame? That is
[33:49] Speaker 5: oh my gosh, you whatever happens is going to be
[33:55] Speaker 5: over in the next ten seconds, And expecting and hoping
[34:02] Speaker 5: and asking for mercy from the people who have no
[34:06] Speaker 5: mercy is going to be a disaster. I don't understand it,
[34:16] Speaker 5: and I do understand that there's a different way of thinking.
[34:19] Speaker 5: Different people have different ways of thinking, and part of
[34:21] Speaker 5: it is a protection mechanism of I don't want to
[34:24] Speaker 5: think about it. It makes me uncomfortable to think about it,
[34:26] Speaker 5: so I won't think about it. If I don't think
[34:28] Speaker 5: about it, then I won't do it. But if you
[34:30] Speaker 5: tell me I have to carry a gun, then I
[34:32] Speaker 5: have to actually think about the fact that there are
[34:33] Speaker 5: bad people out there, and that makes me uncomfortable, so
[34:35] Speaker 5: I choose not to think about it. Now, people won't
[34:38] Speaker 5: go through that and actually say it out loud, but
[34:41] Speaker 5: in many cases, I really do believe that's what's going on.
[34:46] Speaker 5: It's the fingers in the ear and I can't hear
[34:49] Speaker 5: you thing. If I ignore it, it doesn't exist. Well, trust me,
[34:56] Speaker 5: it does exist. It's there. You're walking past it every day,
[35:06] Speaker 5: and you know, we're lucky that it doesn't explode upon
[35:10] Speaker 5: us every day. But it's right there. You're walking past
[35:14] Speaker 5: convicted felons, you're walking past child predators, you're walking past
[35:21] Speaker 5: mentally challenged, violently mentally challenged people every day. And what
[35:29] Speaker 5: you're going to take to set one up, I don't know.
[35:30] Speaker 5: You bump into one and you can say excuse me,
[35:32] Speaker 5: and they just think that's the most terrible thing in
[35:34] Speaker 5: the world. Now comes a knife. Now, what are you
[35:40] Speaker 5: prepared to do? It's not a philosophical question, it's not
[35:48] Speaker 5: an academic question. It's a reality of life question. And look,
[35:56] Speaker 5: you know, once again, I don't understand it exactly, but
[35:58] Speaker 5: some people are not mentally prepared to take care of themselves.
[36:04] Speaker 5: If you ask them if they've ever changed a tire,
[36:06] Speaker 5: they don't know how. If you ask them if they
[36:09] Speaker 5: have a fire extinguisher in their house, they look at
[36:11] Speaker 5: you with the blank expression. Do you have a first
[36:15] Speaker 5: aid kit? We've got some band aids back there. I think.
[36:20] Speaker 5: I'm not sure. It's a way of think. It's a
[36:26] Speaker 5: way of living that is foreign to me. And did
[36:29] Speaker 5: they look it's choice, you can choose that, I think. However,
[36:35] Speaker 5: if you're listening to this show, that's probably not where
[36:38] Speaker 5: you are. You're somewhere in the middle. I mean a
[36:40] Speaker 5: lot of you are already carrying. You made the commitment.
[36:44] Speaker 5: Maybe you haven't committed far enough, because buying a gun
[36:48] Speaker 5: is not enough. Getting retal training really makes a difference.
[36:53] Speaker 5: A lot of people are saying, yeah, I've got a gun,
[36:54] Speaker 5: but I don't carry. Okay, Well I've got a gun
[36:59] Speaker 5: and I shoot it once or twice a year. I'm sorry,
[37:03] Speaker 5: it's not enough. This eventually, ultimately is going to come
[37:10] Speaker 5: down to your self image and maybe that helps you.
[37:16] Speaker 5: Maybe it does, and I don't know, but it's a
[37:19] Speaker 5: case of who am I really? And you're known by
[37:24] Speaker 5: your actions, not by what you say. Well, I'm a
[37:26] Speaker 5: good person, Okay, cool, I got that. I'll give you that,
[37:29] Speaker 5: you know, And I would do anything for my family,
[37:32] Speaker 5: really would you? Are you I die for my family?
[37:40] Speaker 5: Well that doesn't really help your family. You don't understand that, right?
[37:43] Speaker 5: People say, well, I'll die for my family. That's not
[37:46] Speaker 5: helping anybody. It's terrible, it'd be tragic, could be a
[37:51] Speaker 5: horrible thing for your family, not to mention the fact
[37:55] Speaker 5: that you might not be the only one. How about
[37:59] Speaker 5: I would do anything to protect my family, and I'm
[38:01] Speaker 5: taking steps towards that. Huh. I don't know. I'm not sure.
[38:12] Speaker 5: But maybe you've got a better way of explaining this.
[38:15] Speaker 5: Maybe you've got a better way of explaining your outlook
[38:19] Speaker 5: and how you approach this, because I've tried to explain this,
[38:25] Speaker 5: and I know that a lot of you get it,
[38:27] Speaker 5: but I know that there are a lot of people
[38:28] Speaker 5: who don't. Is there something you have said or a
[38:31] Speaker 5: way you have a kind of explaining this to other
[38:36] Speaker 5: people that has been effective that helps them understand where
[38:41] Speaker 5: you are, how you go about your life. You're a
[38:44] Speaker 5: different person, you know, when you make the commitment to
[38:48] Speaker 5: take care of yourself, to protect yourself and protect your family,
[38:50] Speaker 5: you do, in fact become a different person. And I
[38:54] Speaker 5: got to tell you, I like that person. I like
[38:56] Speaker 5: that person who says, yeah, you're not hurting me, and
[38:59] Speaker 5: you're not hurting my kids, and you're not hurting my wife.
[39:02] Speaker 5: And I will not let that happen. It's not a
[39:05] Speaker 5: case of uji. I'm going to bulk up and I'm
[39:07] Speaker 5: going to you know, punch you in the nose. I'm sorry,
[39:09] Speaker 5: that's not going to get it. I'm not going to
[39:11] Speaker 5: let that happen. Starts today and continues with what you
[39:15] Speaker 5: do each day as you move forward. How have you
[39:18] Speaker 5: explained it to others? Give me a call at Tom
[39:21] Speaker 5: Talk gun Hey, don't forget how the American Revolution started.
[39:33] Speaker 5: The British came to confescate gun it was gun control.
[39:38] Speaker 5: They came to pick up the guns and the powder.
[39:41] Speaker 5: So we shot them and we started a war, and
[39:44] Speaker 5: we beat them and we formed our own country. So
[39:48] Speaker 5: we've had two hundred and fifty years of freedom based
[39:51] Speaker 5: on opposing gun control. Oh and by the way, I
[39:55] Speaker 5: just did a few minutes. We're going to have an
[39:56] Speaker 5: update from Virginia and what's going on there. It's quite confusing,
[39:59] Speaker 5: in a mess. We're going to get a real world
[40:02] Speaker 5: last minute, because this gun ban a schedule to go
[40:05] Speaker 5: into effect next week, temporary injunction on it's a forment enforcement.
[40:09] Speaker 5: We'll see how that all breaks down. Let's go line five.
[40:12] Speaker 5: Paul's with us out of Fargo. North Dakota, Paul, how
[40:14] Speaker 5: do you talk to somebody about self defense?
[40:19] Speaker 11: I'd like to say that one. I'm I'm a veteran
[40:23] Speaker 11: and I served fifteen years and I was on special Group,
[40:26] Speaker 11: special operations, and I've been teaching martial arts for over
[40:29] Speaker 11: forty five years and I will teach combat arts. And
[40:32] Speaker 11: one of the things I always tell people is you
[40:35] Speaker 11: really did mention it on the head is how are
[40:37] Speaker 11: you going to protect your family and loved ones if
[40:40] Speaker 11: you are not able to protect yourself. So one of
[40:43] Speaker 11: the things I did with a couple of students that
[40:46] Speaker 11: came to me is and I know many people can't
[40:49] Speaker 11: do this, is that they went out and then we
[40:53] Speaker 11: actually did a preempt home invasion and see how you react.
[41:00] Speaker 11: And they realized that they couldn't do it, and they
[41:02] Speaker 11: realized that they needed to training. Many people don't take
[41:06] Speaker 11: the circumstances of the situations that come in the streets
[41:10] Speaker 11: or at home or anywhere very personal. But if so,
[41:15] Speaker 11: how I mentioned it to them is that you know,
[41:17] Speaker 11: life is worth giving and life is worth protecting, and
[41:21] Speaker 11: why aren't you protecting your loved ones? And they didn't
[41:25] Speaker 11: take it seriously.
[41:27] Speaker 5: Well, I like that you've got to make it personal
[41:30] Speaker 5: to them and say, you know this person. And I
[41:33] Speaker 5: was telling, look, if this person kills you, he actually
[41:35] Speaker 5: kills everybody you know, because to you, they're all gone.
[41:40] Speaker 5: And also it'd be a tragedy to all your friends
[41:42] Speaker 5: and neighbors and your family if you get killed. So
[41:45] Speaker 5: why would you let that happen to your family? So
[41:48] Speaker 5: you're right, you got to protect yourself so that you
[41:50] Speaker 5: can then protect them. Paul, thank you so much for
[41:53] Speaker 5: the call. I appreciate what you're doing out there. We
[41:55] Speaker 5: do kind of a similar thing with our First Person
[41:57] Speaker 5: Defender video series. You can go check that out on
[42:00] Speaker 5: YouTube and just look for a first Person Offender under
[42:03] Speaker 5: the gun Talk media channel. There. We take people put
[42:06] Speaker 5: them into a self defense situation. It's a carjacking, a robbery,
[42:09] Speaker 5: a home invasion, you know, a rape scenario, an you know,
[42:14] Speaker 5: grabbing somebody's kid in the parking lot. It goes on
[42:17] Speaker 5: and on, and it is so interesting that they go
[42:20] Speaker 5: into it kind of knowing, all right, we're going to
[42:22] Speaker 5: do this thing, and something's gonna happen. I don't know
[42:24] Speaker 5: exactly what's gonna happen. And it's interesting to me how
[42:27] Speaker 5: many people are a little bit casual about it, a
[42:31] Speaker 5: little bit lackadaisical about it. And then when it happens,
[42:37] Speaker 5: it's no longer a game. They're no longer cameras there,
[42:39] Speaker 5: and it's no longer a scenario. It's real. It's happening
[42:42] Speaker 5: to them. They're being attacked. Somebody's actually trying to snatch
[42:45] Speaker 5: this baby out of their arms, and it becomes real
[42:49] Speaker 5: in a flash. And in most cases they have no
[42:53] Speaker 5: idea what to do, and so they try to do something.
[42:56] Speaker 5: In most cases it's ineffective or wrong. And when we debrief,
[43:01] Speaker 5: we get the two things. One is I never thought
[43:03] Speaker 5: of that, and two, it happened so fast. Yeah, it does.
[43:08] Speaker 5: It's why you don't have time to analyze and figure
[43:12] Speaker 5: it all out. You have to have made a lot
[43:15] Speaker 5: of decisions before it happens. The decision to go arm,
[43:18] Speaker 5: the decision of what you will do, if decision of
[43:20] Speaker 5: how you're going to move, what you're going to do.
[43:23] Speaker 5: If you have all those figured out ahead of time,
[43:26] Speaker 5: it greatly reduces your reaction time because you may have
[43:29] Speaker 5: mere seconds. In fact, you will have mere seconds to react,
[43:34] Speaker 5: save yourself, save your family. So I guess you know
[43:37] Speaker 5: We'll finished up with this question before we are our
[43:39] Speaker 5: next segment here. What are you prepared to do? How
[43:44] Speaker 5: are you going to protect your family? And if you're
[43:47] Speaker 5: not going to protect them, how do you look at
[43:49] Speaker 5: yourself in the mirror? I don't get that all right.
[43:54] Speaker 5: When we come back the very latest what's going on
[43:56] Speaker 5: in Virginia and why you should care because it will
[43:59] Speaker 5: happen to you if they don't stop it. There
